Hi everyone, after years of wanting to try DND some friends of mine have arranged for us to start a campaign together (we are all massively hyped and really looking forward to it), now I am admittedly VERY obsessed with dragons so I immediately gracitated towards the dragonborn race, especially the Fizbans variants. The gem ancestry looked to be the most fun to me with their psychic messages and 1 minute of flight at level 5. But I have seen some conflicting info about whether my dragonborn would be able to fly while wearing heavy armour (I'm likely going paladin so eventually I really want full plate armour) would I still be able to fly with heavy armour? Otherwise I might switch to metallic dragonborn as it's not worth the gem ancestry just for one way psychic messages and the metallic breath weapon does sound fun (although it makes me sad that gem gets two racial abilities and the others don't ) any helpful comments/advice would be much appreciated as a new player

Beast Barbarian to lv 6:

• Feat: Athlete (STR) - Allows you to stand from prone for 5 ft, gives you climbing ability, and running jumps for 5 ft
• Jumping Bestial Soul for the hops

Soulknife Rogue to lv XX:

• Expertise Athletics and Stealth
• Feat: Mobile - Allows you cunning action dash through things without extra movement
  • Or you can up your STR to 20

The build really comes online around lv 9, 10 preferred for extra feat. Soulknife's Psi-Bolstered Knack helps mostly guarantee grapples with a +12 to Athletics at advantage (barb rage) + 1d6 Psionic Energy die.
At level 10, you have 50 ft of movement, w/BA dash, 100ft. Without features, you're able to jump up 7 feet high after expending 5ft (athlete feat) of movement. With features and Boots of striding and springing:

• Boots: Normal high jump is now 21 ft
• Bestial Soul Jumping (with +12 to athletics):
  • Minimum +13 ft of jumping
  • Average +22 ft of jumping
  • High +32 ft of jumping

The idea is you jump while grappling a creature, drop them at the peak, land on them, attack and re-grapple. At average jumping (44 ft), damage looks something like:

• BA Dash so you have 100ft of movement
• Jumping up 43ft (using 88 ft of your movement from movement grappling)
  • Fall Damage 4d6: 14 average damage
  • Shared Fall Damage half of 4d6: 7 average damage
• Form of the Beast: Tail attack: 1d8+6, 10.5 average damage
• Psychic Blade Attack: 1d6+6: 9.5 average damage
  • Sneak Attack: 2d6: 7 average damage
• This assumes you're allowed to maintain grapple while falling on top of creature

Total damage (assuming they fail their dex save for you falling on them and you hit every attack at advantage): 48 damage
I don't know the formula for calculating on hit + damage vs AC. But you're almost guaranteed to be able to grapple them and do the 4d6 fall damage every turn at least.
If you're by a wall, you can climb up 50 ft (BA dash) while grappling instead of jumping, making fall and shared fall damage to 5d6 for an additional ~5 average damage.
Aside from damage, you are extremely versatile with gliding and proficiency in stealth. Assuming gliding gets cut in half b/c of grapple:

• you can jump up 44ft and glide 44ft, drop someone off a cliff, and safely glide back.
• You can grapple someone and fly them 44ft away every turn
• You can silently glide down, fall on someone, prone them, and proceed to do the above. You are the creature of the night, stealing people away.
• You also have a tail which works with defensive reactions (+d8 AC)
• You can use claws for low hp creatures
• You can use bite if you're low on health
• You have Psi-Bolstered Knack for checks
• You have Psychic Whispers for communication within 1 MILE
• You're a barbarian, you take half damage most of the time

With the amount of land flippers trying to get a piece of the pie and not hiring a cruiser or surveyor so they can get a higher cut, I’m not surprised the tech industry followed . What I’m seeing advertised is again circumventing the point of having boots on ground. What’re the defect culls? Do you see insects boring in? Burn scars? Invasives regen? Advanced regeneration? Are what’s present commercially valuable from the local market perspective? Can they actually be logged and milled above net zero?
These ai /lidar data collection drones only see extractive value not the externalities of the forest in and of itself. You don’t need a professional in the field to get a dollar sign. And I know the average joe would clearcut every white oak on a property without a second thought

Stage breakdown

With tomorrow’s stage, the peloton will keep travelling northwards towards the Alps; unlike yesterday, however, they won’t stick to the seaside, but they will venture inland. They’re not going to be too far from the coastline- the stage will never reach 300 m above the sea level- and yet it’s not going to be an easy day! The riders will have to tackle a number of muri, short but insidiously punchy climbs. The stage will nearly entirely develop within Marche; only the first 3 kms take place in Abruzzo.
The first 50 kms will feel like a stage 11 deja-vù, as they will take place along the coastal highway. Once the race reaches Civitanova Marche, however, the course will head towards the hills and the course will get pretty rolling as the succession of muri will begin. The first couple of them are not categorized, while the third one- leading to Recanati, the beautiful hilltop town where poet Giacomo Leopardi lived- will have an intermediate sprint at the top rather than a KOM.
The riders will pass through Castelfidardo, a town known worldwide for the manufacturing of accordions… and in cycling, for an amazing 2021 Tirreno-Adriatico stage which saw Van der Poel going up 1v1 against Pogačar. The first KOM of the day, in Osimo, follows soon after; an uncategorized muro follows, and then there will be a short relief for the riders before the course picks up again, with the Monsano, Ostra and La Croce walls- the three remaining KOMs for today- coming in quick succession. Along the latter, the riders will also find the Intergiro sprint in Ripe.
The penultimate wall leading to Mondolfo ends with the remaining intermediate sprint of the day, whereas the very last climb- Monte Giove summits with 9 kms to go. The last 7 kms are flat, and the finale takes part on urban roads, with a 90° bend coming with 500 m to go.
Much of today’s stage takes place on Michele Scarponi’s training roads, and riders and commentators will undoubtedly pay homage to him. The (retroactively awarded) 2011 Giro winner, a peloton jester and a priceless domestique, beloved by fellow riders, fans and even parrots, Scarponi died when he was struck by a distracted driver whilst training on April 22, 2017.
With all this in mind, here are our predictions for tomorrow's stage:

Rider discussion

Tomorrow's stage looks like perfect terrain for a breakaway. It's a day that shouldn't have major GC implications, so the peloton might approach the stage with a relaxed attitude, but the rolling course should encourage a strong break to go clear.
Some of the names we brainstormed for the break: of course we've got Jhonatan Narváez and Maximilian Schachmann, who have been brilliant on short punchy climbs in this Giro so far; the course should also play to Julian Alaphilippe's strengths, but he's been a bit underwhelming this Giro so far. EF has plenty of riders who might have a say on a course like this (Michael Valgren, Andrea Piccolo, Georg Steinhauser), and past Brabantse Pijl winner Magnus Sheffield might enjoy this kind of course too. With Uijtdebroeks now gone, Visma riders such as Attila Valter and Jan Tratnik could also try to go on the attack tomorrow. Last but not least, young Italian climber Giulio Pellizzari hasn't quite had the breakthrough race so far, but he deserves a mention as he's local to this area so he might find himself at ease on this kind of course. If the early break is not too strong, we can see things regrouping; in that case, many of the riders above can also win from a later attack or from a reduced peloton.
We doubt that tomorrow we will have a race so hard that we'll be left with only the GC guys, but should it come to that the main favourite is yet again Tadej Pogačar, who could either power away on a climb and stay at large or win from a reduced bunch sprint. Daniel Felipe Martínez also has the potential to do well, but he'll be closely marked by his rivals. Romain Bardet should enjoy tomorrow's short, punchy climbs, but it's hard to picture him winning.
Last but not least, we're also naming Caleb Ewan as a potential winner. He doesn't really stand a chance but we wanted to honor this comment about our bad take from yesterday :p

So throughout my life I have talked to myself and I'm not talking about just saying things out loud but having full on conversations with myself doing both sides of the conversation, it started when I was very young maybe 6 I would play with my Legos and come up with elaborate stories about a group of spacemen that lived on a laser battleship and roamed the cosmos with their fantastic fade through technology that allowed their ship to pass through solid matter by phasing matter out of synch with the various subspace fields. They battled a race of machines that existed in another reality that wanted to gain access to the space men's reality through means of a trans dimensional gateway that would allow them to flow into the universe unchecked like a swarm of locusts. Thus the mission of the spacemen was to find these gates and destroy them or dismantle them and use the technology in other means. The spacemen had also reprogrammed some of the machines and had them on their pirate crew as servitors. These machines still retained their memories as part of the swarm they came from and understood what the goal of the machines was, some of them were very heroic and sacrificed themselves to save the crew. This crew was led by a brave commander named Mechanic and he was a just and noble person who valued the lives of his crew above all else. They went on many adventures and through it all I acted out their parts fulfilling whatever dialogue was needed. This behavior did not stop when I stopped playing with Legos but continued to evolve into an ever expanding elaborate mythos regarding gods and various beings that existed as either: finite, trans-finite, infinite, or trans-infinite. Each level was more fantastic than the other as far as its scope of influence across reality. I came to talk to myself and focused on various questions in particular one question manifested early in my life. If you could destroy the world, would you? I wrestled with this question for much of my adolescence while many ofy peers concerned themselves with various sports. I took took up sports, hockey and I wonder how many of those hits and impacts left their mark. As is in my childhood I had displayed many symptoms of autism that went along with that neurotypicality: I banged my head into walls repeatedly, I liked to turn around and around in circles, and I was very socially aloof.
As I grew older my relationship to myself changed and I became convinced of the idea that I had lived the life I was living now multiple times, and that this was merely the most recent iteration. When I tried explaining this to other people they didn't quite understand, that the events that were happening in my life while not necessarily unique only to this life were not something that I felt I was doing for the first time, not deja vu, but a feeling that I was playing out the same track on a record that had already been laid down once before. I continued to talk to myself and a new manifestation of this affect began to take shape. Now instead of talking to myself I began to believe that I was talking to an older version of myself one that had already experienced what I had experienced and tried to offer feedback on how to handle things in my life. This presence was not a tormentor, but a benefactor trying its best to guide and help me along my way and offering insights into my relationships and giving guidance when needed. I could always ask him questions but he was always guarded with his responses, sometimes answering with a question of his own. I came to depend on this presence in my life as someone I could talk to about anything, he knew all my secrets and he understood who I was, often better than I did myself. He encouraged me to write down my ideas and thoughts throughout my life. One of my oldest writings that still survives to this day is a poem that I wrote when I was 13. It is not all in English and at the time I had not studied German, but later in life I learned many of the words like Ahr and Vasharn were proto-germanic words. The meaning of the poem eluded me for years it was as if I had not been the one to write it at all and yet it stuck with me, I would often recite it to myself as if it were a form of meditation.
I did not stop my conversations with myself but in my 30's I began experimenting with recreational drugs and sought out psychedelics, particularly the high prize for me would be partaking of LSD, which I finally did at the age of 31. It was an eye-opening experience as I consumed a tab every 12 hours for 3 days until finally it reached a mad fever pitch that resulted in my first true psychotic break with reality. That experience landed me in the medical tent at the festival I was at with a trazodone flush. This would not be my last experience with acid and each one was steadily more derailing to my life. I did not go out of my way to make it a regular experience but rather was like a sacrament that I partook of to see more than I was seeing at the time. My final experience with it landed me in the psych ward for a week, this would also not be my last time in the psych ward, but it was the last time that I partook of LSD and have not used it since 2017.
My conversations with myself and occasionally even conversations with what I conceived of as gods each with their own name and symbol associated with them continued to occupy my mind. In my 20's I began making "anchors" points in time where I focused my thoughts on a particular moment, if I could tie it to a physical object like a tree or a building even better, the older the better. These anchors became sources of meditation for me when I wanted to contemplate something I would attempt to connect back to these moments in time to convoke whatever I was attempting at the time. In a way it became my form of prayer in my elaborate mythos with its dozens of gods and beings that I kept in my mind and wrote about. However my 40's were a radical departure from what had been up until that point a form of meditation.
In my 30's I had begun to transmute the question that had occupied my adolescence into one of watching for Armageddon, not necessarily the biblical one, but as I put it I kept one eye on apocalypse. This actually started when I learned of the Mayan calendar, its mythos was fascinating to me as was their prognostications regarding the end of the world in 2012. And so I became a watcher, not obsessed, but diligent in my search to understand the threats that might jeopardize my existence and things that one should be wary of. Viruses in particular caught my attention and each outbreak of any note was something I carefully watched and waited to see if pandemic would follow. In November of 2019 I began doing the calculations based on the daily numbers of the novel Corona virus that had begun spreading in East Asia, by December I was telling my coworkers to prepare for a pandemic. Only one person really believed me. Still I kept my eye on apocalypse and while viruses were worrisome a new anxiety began to plague me, climate change.
I found climate change to be fascinating and watched as ecosystems suffered and began telling people about as far back as my late 20's but it never really reached the fever pitch that it did until I was in my 40's and then my affect began to take on a whole new manifestation.
I began to have conversations with myself but now playtime was over, the experiment as I came to understand it had entered its next phase. You see reality is complicated and different worlds are trying to communicate to us because we are them, just a different reality or a different time as I would learn. The goal of this experiment is to send a singular message and in order for that message to be understood there needs to be a mind capable of understanding what that message is. Not everyone has the mental capacity to understand the science involved in the message so the realities have to take what they are given and use the experiences they can to insert parts of the message into the past so that it shapes the future all so that one person at the very least can understand the message in its entirety and progress the civilization to the next level of existence and avoid calamity due to reckless human behavior. This group of beings is not evil, they realize that the most valuable commodity in the universe is information next to time and as such do everything in their power to raise up a technology capable species to create more minds capable of solving problems that they themselves could not solve. To this end they pair minds using technology to send signals to those who can receive them, not everyone has the right neural architecture to allow for a signal lock and sometimes the signal fries the brain of the recipient due to a neural fault that results in the unit burning out and short-circuiting.
But the message is simple and easy to understand
Global loss of glaciation will result in mass volcanism.

After months of will-they-won't-they, Biden and Trump have agreed to hold two debates. Notably, neither debate is sanctioned by the Commission for Presidential Debates, and they're set to happen much earlier in the cycle: the CPD's schedule would have seen three debates (plus one for VP nominees) between September 16 and October 9, while the two that the campaigns have agreed to so far will happen June 27 (on CNN) and September 10 (on ABC).
Both campaigns had been saying for quite a while that they had issues with the CPD's debate formats, with Biden's people saying that the Commission was "unable or unwilling to enforce the rules" by allowing Trump to speak over Biden and the moderator, and Trump himself claiming that "the Commission got caught cheating with [him]." RFK Jr., meanwhile, is saying the two major parties are afraid of having him on the stage with their nominees, even though the CNN and ABC debates have more or less the same criteria for qualification as the CPD proposal (15% nationally in several polls; appear on enough state ballots that make it possible to win over 270 Electoral Votes).

Welcome to Season 3, Episode 2 of Let's Talk. Here I am doing the last thing I thought I would do a couple of years ago: Dissecting the greatest player of this franchise. David Warner might have been our greatest batsman, Rashid might have been our greatest bowler. Against the test of time, there has stood only one player for the last 10 years as the franchise's flag-bearer: Bhuvneshwar Kumar. As the epitome of humility, dedication, and loyalty, Bhuvi has been associated with the franchise more deeply than anyone else in its history. But we are at a crossroads where doubts are seeping in about this great man. Why is that? I ask myself that question often. What made us lose confidence in Bhuvi? What is the actual turmoil he's going through? And is it ever really possible for him to regain his past self? We shall discuss everything in brief(oxymoron, judging by the length of this post). For the sake of the sanctity of the discussion, the stats I'll be presenting will pertain exclusively to his IPL career.
▫️The When:
When did he reach his peak? When did his downfall begin? What is this "When" supposed to mean? The question we should be asking is, when did we stop trusting in Bhuvi? Did it coincide with the onset of his injuries? Yes. Was it because of the injuries? No. Let me explain the differences. Bhuvi's IPL stats for SRH are 147 wickets in 133 matches at an average of 26.1, a strike rate of 20.6, and an economy of 7.62. Prior to the start of 2024, Bhuvi was four wickets away from becoming the first Indian player to take 150 wickets for a single franchise (a feat achieved by Bumrah). But that never came to pass due to a poor start to the season.
Bhuvi's career can be diverged into two parts: the 2014-17 period, which represented his peak, and the 2018-24 period, which represented his struggles. We will compare the statistics (especially those in the IPL and somewhat in T20Is) of these two phases to understand the two biggest phases of his career. This time period is not strictly quantified as a specific type of performance. He has had his struggles during his peak, while showing occasional brilliance during his struggles. Such is the life of a sportsman.
Now, the pre-2018 Bhuvi was India's best seamer across formats. It would be called a hyperbole, but I believed him to be so. Not only did he find his place in the longer format thanks to those fantastic IPL seasons in 2016 and 2017, but he also spearheaded the LOI bowling lineup with the then up-and-coming Jasprit Bumrah to absolute perfection. Bhuvi's defensive bowling gelled with the attacking bowling of Bumrah like fish to water, and it elevated the performance and status quo of both of them. The IPL seasons following the international ones were both the cause and effect. During this peak period, Bhuvi averaged a ridiculous 18.6 at a strike rate of 15.4 while maintaining an economy of 7.26. That meant he was taking wickets almost every two overs despite being primarily a defensive bowler. The dot ball percentage in the powerplay during this phase was an impressive 59.7%, while he was bowling two dot balls per over at the death (dot ball percentage in this period is 33.8%). Two overs at the start and two overs at the death were the fixed template for Bhuvi. The overs seemed insufficient when he was on song, and no wonder Dave respects him so much as a bowler. Every single fan who witnessed Bhuvi bamboozle Vohra in that immortal match against KXIP remains his fan to this day because it just feels right. So where did it all go wrong?
▫️The Why:
It all went wrong as soon as the greed of Indian cricket triumphed over the well-being of its premier pacer. The year was 2018, and there happened to be a pointless bilateral series against England. I'm getting too far ahead of myself. Let's add some more context to it. The year was 2014. Bhuvi ended that season with an exceptional tally of 20 wickets in 14 matches while maintaining an impressive economy of 6.66 at an average and SR of 17.7 and 16.0 respectively. Those are quite literally his best overall figures in any edition of the IPL, but the reality goes far beyond these numbers. Let's go back a little further and add some more context. Bhuvi debuted under MS Dhoni in 2012 against Pakistan. "Duh! We all know that! We see the highlights of it on DeathRattlePorn every other day." Despite having a great audition, Bhuvi wasn't considered a solution to India's long-running search for a generational seamer. Many considered him a generic swing bowler from UP with a paper-thin career. He was compared to Praveen Kumar and RP Singh, but never beyond. I won't be a contrarian and declare these opinions invalid because they were absolutely justified. For a couple of years since his debut, Bhuvneshwar remained strictly a new-ball bowler. MS Dhoni made sure to use up his overs at the powerplay and maximize the utilization of the conditions if they suited him. It suited Bhuvneshwar with his skill levels at that point and paved a path for him towards a red-ball debut (and that excellent series in England).
The trend set by MS carried over to the IPL as well. In the otherwise spectacular 2014 season, Bhuvi bowled 60% of his overs in the Powerplay, while trying his hand at the death in merely 26% of the total overs bowled. His economy at the Powerplay was 5.53 which skewed the overall economy to the lower side, while the economy was 8.96 at the death in this period, which despite not seeming much in the current scenario was in the bottom 38% percentile in that season (for bowlers bowling 10+ overs at the death). This version of Bhuvi was not far from the best version of him despite having the best stats. He did have a lean frame, and his speed barely crossed 135 kmph with an average speed between 125-130 kmph. It needed something more to make him stand out. In 2015, he gained slightly more muscle and tried to increase his speed. This was the first time in his career when he started bowling yorkers more frequently at the death while being more confident in bowling during this period. The gained muscle, however, attributed slightly to reduced consistency and accuracy, which resulted in the economy at the death being increased to 9.11 (highest during his peak) and a dot ball percentage of 29.2 (lowest during his peak). The encouraging signs, however, were the increased overs percentage at the death (37%), which showed that he was getting more and more confident in bowling at the death. Then came the crucial 2016 season, which changed the general public's perception of Bhuvi as a bowler. The Purple Cap did help the cause; the stats expectedly reflected his growth as a bowler. The death overs percentage was 32%, while the dot ball percentage at the death reached 35%. The overall dot ball percentage also reached a career-high of 47%. (In comparison, arguably the second-best bowler of the season, Fizz, had a death over dot ball percentage of 34 and an overall dot ball percentage of 42.) 2017 was the peak for Bhuvi, who was a lethal death bowler. It marked one of the most important seasons of his career in terms of skill development. He frequently used Yorkers and Leg Cutters (he used to be overly reliant on Off Cutters earlier), which ensured a brilliant Dot Ball Percentage (DB%) of 38 (a career high) while bowling 42% of the total overs during this phase. This was the absolute peak of Bhuvi's career. He won the Purple Cap for the second time, consistently clocked past the 140 kmph mark, and maintained clockwork accuracy over his lengths and lines. However, this season also saw a drastic decline in his powerplay wicket tally, raising concerns among the cricketing fraternity about whether Bhuvi was losing his natural swing in pursuit of pace.
These concerns became his worst nightmares in 2018. After coming back from his career-best overseas tour against South Africa, he suffered his first major injury, which would become the pioneer in a long string of injuries. The additional muscle mass was in question; some questioned the heavy workload he was subjected to as an all-format bowler, and some attributed it to his lack of natural fitness. Amidst all this, he was prematurely drafted in to play a meaningless decider in a bilateral series against England. This match is widely considered the undoing of Bhuvi's career in the long run, as not only was he unable to complete this match but also his injury was aggravated, and he was sidelined for a longer period than he was expected to be. His frequent injuries were an even heavier blow to the franchise, which meant they not only missed out on their best batsman but also had a question mark over the fitness of their best-ever bowler. This resulted in a stop-start season for Bhuvi in 2018, where he played in 12 out of 17 matches and finished with a career-worst average of almost 40. More than the numbers, his bowling style was questionable. He never looked 100% while bowling; the pace was down, he barely could extract swing from the pitch (while the most average opposition seamers managed to do it far better than him on the very same matches), and his accuracy at the death was more wayward as it had ever been. A seam bowler suffering from recurring injuries or immediately after a recent recovery is usually very cautious regarding his body, which prompts him to hold off on effort deliveries like yorkers and bouncers. Injury recovery and rehabilitation is more physical than mental. At times, despite recovering completely cricketers catch a knack of frequently injuries because they are not ready mentally. So without complete psychological recovery, even the greatest of comebacks can fizzle out like that. Bhuvi went down the same spiral. With the newly introduced knuckleball proving to be a decent wicket-taking option, he adapted slower balls as his go-to deliveries at the death while occasionally missing his lengths trying to hit the blockhole. The more he missed his lengths, the more he shied away from the delivery. At some point, bowling these slower balls became ingrained as his stock delivery at the death. Despite being hit for boundaries at the death after repeatedly bowling the slower balls (at varied lines, however), he still didn't have second thoughts about his increased predictability, which continued to cost him dearly. The injuries concerns playing at the back of his head and the severe lack of self confidence were painstakingly apparent. After months of battling through injuries, he reached a point where his body recovered, but his mind didn't.
Coming to the indirect factors, the modern-day game is meant to kill bowlers like Bhuvi. The balls barely swing anymore, and the pitches are as unresponsive as a girl to her toxic ex. (Can the seam bowlers be considered toxic exes, given how exploitative they were in the late 90s?) The boundaries are getting smaller, and new cricketing rules are being introduced every other day to rub salt in the injuries of these bowlers. The bowlers are fighting a losing battle, and the game demands only the freaks of nature to survive. Bhuvi, despite all his greatness, is a mere mortal. So as much as his own shortcomings have haunted him, he has suffered equally worse at the hands of the system and environment. With every injury, he found the ball to swing a little less. With every comeback, he was questioned about his range of abilities. The lack of confidence and self-belief this man has suffered, thanks to the inside and outside factors, can never be brushed out.
▫️The How:
How does he come out of that shell? Is it going to be magical? Is he going to wake up one day and turn the clock back? No! That's not how cricket works. He has already sorted out his frequent injury issues. For the last two years, he has maintained an average speed of 132-135. And these are not mutually exclusive events. He has sacrificed bowling effort deliveries in search of swing again. He's going back to his roots, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. At this point in his career, it's impractical to expect any drastic change in action or run-up. Fast bowlers are far too stubborn about that anyway. To find out the hows, we have to go back into the whys again. In the first 8 matches of this season, his line and length were all over the place. I use a particular stat as the Hittable Area bowled; shortened as HA% (the lower the better), to evaluate a bowler's consistency with his line and length. This HA% was staggeringly high for Bhuvi in these first 8 matches at 58%. That means he bowled a pressure-relieving ball every second ball. Not only did his wicket column suffer because of that, but he also was uncharacteristically expensive throughout different phases of the game. If you bowl 3 boundary balls per over, you are bound to go for 10 per over even if you get lucky on two balls.
In the last 4 matches, however, his HA% dropped to a mere 22%, and he was the only bowler whose HA% dropped during this period. (Nattu and Pat's HA% increased during this period.) I didn't have the time to go through all of the bowlers to draw a wider comparison, but the couple of bowlers I drew comparisons to (Bumrah and Harshal), despite having a better overall HA% than Bhuvi (16 and 34, respectively), ranked below him since this mini peak of 4 matches (Bumrah and Harshal had 27 and 31%, respectively). So this is the solution to his conundrum. The increase in control has brought out the best version of him, despite the current limitations.
Three overs in the powerplay should be given to Bhuvi irrespective of the conditions, and an over before the 17th over would not hurt his initial momentum. Like the match against RR, he can be occasionally trusted in crunch scenarios thanks to his experience. But the clearer his role is chalked out (as said earlier, going back to his roots as a defensive bowler), the more his confidence will flourish, which in turn will reflect in his bowling figures (as in the last four games). In the powerplay, however, it's paramount that he's paired with an attacking bowler who can operate as a strike bowler. Time and time again, Bhuvi has proven himself as an excellent setter(when the conditions are not inductive to his bowling style) in the powerplay for a more attacking bowler to take advantage of the pressure created by him. Otherwise, his spells are used up without any collateral damage to the opposition, and the initial pressure built up gets relieved consequently. (HELLO, 2018 FINAL!)
▫️Epilogue:
Bhuvi is at an odd conundrum in his career. His international career has been declared dead by the selectors and fans alike, despite having so much left to give. In his own franchise, there are barely any fans looking at him as a genuine retention choice. Part of it can be attributed to the inconsistenty and part of it can be attributed ironically to his very own essence. The understated, underrated, and hardworking guy who will never scream about his own value. To me, Bhuvneshwar Kumar personifies Sunrisers Hyderabad: understated, underrated, and hardworking, but forever hesitant to take the spotlight. For that very reason, I have always considered Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the greatest this franchise has ever seen. Nights will change, and the days will pass by. On some days, we'll feel shaky about Bhuvneshwar Kumar. On other nights, we'll declare him the King of the world. Such is his career graph at the moments. But SRH needs to make sure that he's never forgotten no matter how much the rest of the world tries to feign away from his existence(as they've already started to).
For he is SRH, and SRH is Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

I'm a witch. I used to be a witch before psychosis, but after going through religious delusions and spiritual awakenings, I stopped and became an atheist. After careful evaluation and consideration, I've decided to return to the path. It's hard because a lot of what I believed most likely was my schizoaffective disorder. I believed I could read energy before, but now it's hard because I have tactile hallucinations. I have to determine if my callings are schizoaffective telling me something or my patron deity telling me something. Seeing signs is no longer an option, though I didn't see many signs until everything converted over and became exclusive Christian.
When you're pushing yourself back into spiritual and religious beliefs, you have to be very careful not to listen to yourself and get caught up in insane shit. A lot of signs are subtle when you're looking for them. You'll read about seeing numbers, but is that just the psychosis talking or is it a deity/spirit/universe? You don't know. You have to interpret it for yourself, and it can be very difficult. Going to any psychic medium will produce varying results, so it's up to you. And it's better to be skeptical than to be open-minded. You'll know when a deity calls to you. You'll know when something feels right. For me, signs from psychosis feel dramatic and like lightbulbs going off. I remember when I was bonkers, I thought every license plate or car with the Jesus fish symbol was a sign God was speaking to me and telling me things would be alright and that I needed an exorcism. These are some of the most common symbols ever, and I live in America where Christianity rules. Real signs are subtle. You may see an animal that does not particularly live there. Or an animal you've never seen before. You may find your spell work took 6 weeks to bring anything to you. Or you may find your prayer went unanswered for a few years. I thought spells could bring it in fast during psychosis. I performed banishing spell after banishing spell, bought bound spirits that were supposed to help rid me of demons and evil spirits, and ran up credit card debt. If you're experiencing a real evil spirit, you shouldn't have to spend $3,500 on the spirit. One banishment spell will get rid of him. Hell, cleansing your house with sage or a sage alternative will get rid of them. Demons are the same way, and if you're Christian, a simple prayer will rid you of the demon. I went through three Christian exorcisms and all they did was pray over me.
What I've learned and am learning down this path is to go with your gut in the end. Especially if you are medicated. If you experience heavy delusions, I wouldn't follow a spiritual path because your mind is clouded by your delusions, and you could very easily misinterpret signs. It's hard to tell the difference. Careful evaluation and consideration need to be present, and I'd reach out to someone who doesn't believe before I reach out to someone who does because of just how misconstrued things can be. My fiance doesn't believe in anything. I reach out to him when I think I've seen a sign. He can help me see if it's fishy or if I just am seeing things where they don't belong. He respects and knows my beliefs enough that he can help me determine if I'm just seeing things or if I'm experiencing what I think is otherworldly. I wouldn't run to a psychic medium. Half of them are fake because it's easy to pretend to be psychic. I was taken advantage of by fake psychic mediums all over Etsy and on one platform called Creepy Hollows who claimed to be able to bind spirits that can help you. No one ever reached out to me to see if I was okay. Instead, I spent over $5,000 on bullshit spells to help my "channeling abilities" (aka just me talking to myself) and other nonsense to get rid of the demons and spirits possessing me. I thought I was communicating with the binders of Creepy Hollows through my spirits at one point. That's how far gone I was. If you buy from them, stop. They don't care about you. No one ever reached out after I dissolved and bought my servitors several times over except one time to make sure I wanted to do it. They didn't even help when I reached out about my possible exorcism. I learned from my "spirits" that they were helping because they sent a sterling angel to scout what's going on since I had so many weird orders. Never told them anything about this. And when I told them they accidentally bound Azazel, they told me they didn't and locked my thread. The Moon Dragon is fake, too. She told me all kinds of crazy things. She's a bitch, too. Never buy from her.
It helps to have someone there to ground you. Delusions are powerful. Religious delusions are terrifying. I once believed I was the reincarnation of Eve from the Garden during one of my many spiritual awakenings that happened in the 10-month span. Turns out deities are not gonna come and talk to you telepathically with clear sentences and tell you that you are Eve. Nor is God gonna try to kill you for "knowing the secrets of the Universe." You've probably never met a demon in real life. Or a spirit. And if you did the odds of them possessing you or trying to harm you are slim to none. Most everything in Hollywood or peached by Churches are bullshit. In fact, I run a metaphysical shop and have had people come to me for exorcisms. I always point them in the direction of finding help from psychologists and psychiatrists before pursuing an exorcism because of my experiences. I never perform one because I don't believe in possession. I thought I was possessed. Turns out I'm just mentally spicy like my name suggests.
It's fine to have religious beliefs, but when you're delusional it's so hard to tell everything apart. I've had times where I question it, but I just feel there's something more to this than just being recycled stardust with no purpose (though I don't think people have purposes. You give yourself purpose. Deities have no plans for you and there is no higher purpose than just living your life. If you wish to dedicate yourself to a purpose or deity, that's fine, but you gave it to yourself).
And if you believe you are psychic, you could be, but odds are you are not. Legitimate psychics cannot talk to spirits as if they are present. Hollywood has lied to you. Most of those shows do screenings before they begin to tell the "psychic" about you and whom you wanna talk to. Tarot cards are just cards, and it's up to you to interpret them. They cannot unlock the truth to the future, but they can be used as tools to learn more about your situations and yourself. You cannot converse with spirits and deities and demons with just psychic powers. You need tools, and even then, I used a board during my psychosis and got varying answers. Spirits cannot predict the future. Deities can only manipulate so much. Spells can only do so much and will not bring you fortune unless you put work into it. You will not become a millionaire because you worship Lucifer. In fact, you've probably never met him because he probably doesn't deal with low-level humans or even deal with humans at all. Your soul cannot be sold. If you are Christian, God owns your soul, and Satan has no use for it. If you are a witch or pagan, you cannot sell your soul because your soul is your own, and demons can't do much with you in death. So much bullshit flies around the internet and Hollywood that people don't understand magick and what it's capable of. It feeds into delusions that we have.
Did you know that there was a study conducted and those living in Eastern countries had more positive experiences with their hallucinations and delusions than those in the Western world? It's cultural. It's a phenomenon. These things we've been fed since birth are not real. It's up to you to come to terms with your own beliefs. I promise you aren't possessed and beyond help. I promise you your meds don't interfere with your natural abilities to be empathic or psychic. You're believing in something that doesn't exist, and psychosis makes it possible. I used to believe the voices in my head, the good ones, were tulpas and they were real and I had DID. That's not true. They responded to medication finally.
Be careful when you're believing, but don't write it off. Examine what you believe. Look at it like you're a scientist. And if it doesn't fit, become an atheist. Live your life. But you don't have to write off your beliefs just because psychosis happened. The world is magickal. It's just not "oh my god spirits live inside me" magickal. (I think I got off topic here, but it needed to be said).
