2024.06.09 19:57 Other-Discussion-987 Auto-update data import step in PBI and create reports and dashboards with updated data.

I am novice in power bi (PBI) environment and its data import techniques. However, at my current job I want to automate certain task (below) in power bi. For context I am dealing with patient sensitive information and do not have admin rights on my PC, my data updates weekly and have pbi pro license - desktop (from my employer)
Task - I have to automate creating reports and dashboards within PBI. I am using R to clean my data and export it to .csv. This .csv file can be imported to PBI and overrides previous files (using transform data button), for now I am doing these steps manually. However, I have come across the using pbi gateway I can automate this process and thereby creating reports and dashboards with updated data on weekly basis.
My question is that once I install pbi gateway (will request IT to install on my PC) will this .csv file import step followed by creating reports and dashboards conducted automatically without any manual intervention? I imagine at some point I may have to manually click refresh button in my pbi desktop. If yes, then what will happen when I am on leave or vacation?
I tried to use schedule refresh (on web) but in my version it is greyed out.
Could any of you be kind to explain these steps in detailed yet simple language?
Thanks so much.

2024.06.09 19:53 AbjectKorencek Try ubuntu from usb extremely slow + after booting with it and then trying to boot windows it asked for the recovery key

Hi,
has anyone had similar issues.
I have a pc with windows 11 (I've been on Linux before for years at a time (gentoo and arch mostly) and use ubuntu from virtual machines regularly so I have some experience with it.
Since ubuntu 24.04., virtual box and windows 11 don't really get along well since some patches added security features that rely on hyper-v, although it did work well enough with older versions of ubuntu I decided to try it from a usb stick. The stick isn't some speed demon or anything but it's also not that slow. I made the stick using rufus and the ubuntu disc image (using the settings of 50GB as the persistent partition (the stick is 64GB), gpt for the partition scheme and uefi non csm as the target system. Everything else left at default so large fat32 for the filesystem and 32kb cluster size), and booted my pc with it (5600x/32gb ram/rx 6600, so nothing super fast but something that should run ubuntu just fine) I have secure boot enabled, bitlocker disabled and it booted fine. The boot time was about as slow as you'd expect but not super slow.
However when it finished booting and everything I was left on the gnome desktop where everything was extremely slow. By extremely slow I mean after clicking the Firefox icon it would take more than a minute to open (even if you had just closed it so it should still be cached by the os and not having to be read from the usb stick) or menus taking 30s+ to open and so on. Basically it makes a raspberry pi 4 (that's pretty slow) look like the fastest thing evet. I figured that it might be a problem with the computer or usb stick and to see which was it I tried the usb stick on the laptop (windows 11, secure boot on, bitlocker on, i5 1235u, 8gb ram, and just the igpu), it booted fine, but was as slow as before so I rebooted back to windows and was greeted by a screen asking for the bit locker recovery key due to some unexpected changes in secure boot policy. I have the key so it was just a nuisance.
But I'm pretty sure that's not the desired behavior. Lots of people don't have the keys backed up (especially if you buy a prebuilt/laptop bitlocker could be enabled without you even knowing) or don't know where they are (if you use a Microsoft account for windows and enable bitlocker manually it does make you make at least one copy of the key and one of the options is your ms account, but that kinda defeats the purpose since if Microsoft has the key, others can get it but at least makes it hard to lose... what happeneds if you buy a computer already enabled and where/if any backups are stored or do you have to make them manually (but if you don't know it's on how would you know it is and check where the backups are or make more... most people don't spend time looking at various settings, they just want it to work). So by booting a well known, well regarded linux distribution from an usb resulting in them losing their data isn't something a reasonable person would expect. The whole point of trying it from usb is that you can try it, see if you like it or not and then just boot back to your current system with everything exactly as it was.
So has anyone else encountered similar issues? Did you manage to find out why it is so slow/why it makes you ask for bitlocker keys? Did you fix it and if so how? Did I screw up something making the usb stick? Is this a known issue?...

2024.06.09 19:43 BillieHolliday Starting on a pump, should I inform my employer?

I’m going to be switching to a tubed pump soon (I was previously doing injections) and am wondering if I really need to tell my manage what I would need to tell them. They have a general idea of me being diabetic because I’ve taken injections at work, wear a cgm, and have stepped away to treat lows before.
I’m hoping a pump will help me deal with the swings of my blood sugar and prevent me from going low as often as I have. However I’m really nervous about being treated differently if I tell them about this change. I like doing the physical parts of my job most (ie. working in the warehouse or on the sales-floor). I know that they’ll be able to see my pump but I fear that if I actually make a point of bringing it up, they’ll start putting me back in the work areas that require less physical labour.
I also have some other general questions if anyone is able to help:
  1. I don’t want to have to work at a slower pace but definitely don’t want to risk damaging my pump, any advice on ways to store/wear it and the tubing?
  2. Have you ever had to do a site change in public/at work? Or is this something I’ll really only need to do at home?
  3. I know my pump has to be charged, would it be beneficial to invest in a portable charger? Or will it be enough to just charge it at night?
  4. Is there anything you suggest I carry with me when I’m not home? (ex. Pens, syringes, etc.)

2024.06.09 19:42 bb_nyc What's the best test to estimate sales team members' effect on daily/hourly sales? [Q]

I have a sales team that has been doing sales for about a year. Unfortunately we don't really have a way, looking back, to ascribe specific sales transactions to individual team members. We have a system wherein many times the person "ringing up" is not the primary person assisting the customer.
The data we have is daily sales data, which could be broken down further into hourly totals, as well as the hours that employees were clocked into the system.
I know it's not ideal, but what would be the best method to determine the effect of an individual employee's hours worked on the sales of that day?
I have already performed a multivariate linear regression with daily bins and the total number of hours worked per employeee on that day. It gave mostly garbage results but I'm just playing around with the data at this point in excel 365.
Ideas? Thank you!!

2024.06.09 19:37 Odd_Specialist_2672 Two WFB UI frustrations

While trying to debug little things, I encountered two frustrations:
  1. Pasting values into custom expression fields doesn't always work. It took me a while to realize that a progress bar was failing because I pasted a floating point upper limit value in (like 29.53059) but after I built it and went back to the editor, that upper limit expression was blank. I had to put the cursor in and manually type the digits for it to be remembered.
  2. The side-bar renders in several stages with random delays, and it keeps fooling me into thinking it is ready but then jumping again right as I am clicking. It would be really nice if the sidebar controls could be visually "disabled" until the whole thing is done loading and jumping around.
For the second one, I can't tell you the number of times I was trying to highlight the global variables section to clear its content but instead it registered as a clone button click or a background color click!

2024.06.09 19:35 RealScaPe_YT Jones Soda JSDA’s expansion into the weed and alcohol market have revitalized the company and make it a great growth investment

In the last few years Jones Soda ($JSDA) has made several major expansions into breakout sectors that may lead to their value as a company drastically increasing to match their new intrinsic value. These investments are just now beginning to bear fruit.
On March 16, 2022 it was announced that Jones Soda would expand “into the cannabis-infused beverage and edibles business with the release of the first products under the Mary Jones brand.”
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/jones-soda-releases-1st-cannabis-products-under-new-mary-jones-brand-301504378.html
Their product line would include a 10mg soda, a 100 mg soda, a 1000mg syrup cannabis tincture (designed for mixing with other drinks), and 5mg edible gummies in packages of 20mg.
“All products are available in Jones' fan-favorite Root Beer, Berry Lemonade, Green Apple and Orange Cream flavors, with a rotating selection of seasonal and limited-edition flavors planned for future release.”
This wide range of products from the start of their expansion would allow them to cover many demographics in the edibles market. Unlike other companies entering the emerging edibles market Jones Soda has a 25 year history having a full understanding of all operations, along with a small but loyal customer base across the nation, though most don’t buy it anymore the name is a nostalgic memento that can’t be valued in $’s for the company and the name and history alone help to sell the products.
Though the company’s edible line originally only released in California (currently their products are sold in over 275 dispensaries across the state) they quickly expanding operations across states despite the federally legality giving many other starting company’s troubles.
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/mary-jones-set-to-launch-in-washington-after-successful-california-debut-301717859.html
On January 10, 2023, 9 months after their original announcement Mary Jones THC products expanded sales to the state of Washington. Marking the second in a growing list of states the company would come to operate in.
https://www.dbusiness.com/daily-news/mary-jones-cannabis-beverages-to-expand-to-michigan-and-nevada/
On March 20, 2023 it was announced that Mary Jones products would expand into both Michigan and Nevada marking a ramp up in expansion after the initial success their products saw over the first year.
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/mary-jones-cannabis-sodas--edibles-expanding-into-canada-302054389.html
Their next expansion, announced on febuary 6, 2024 would be into Canada starting in Ontario. The company was originally founded in Vancouver in1995, making the country a natural fit for the first international expansion for Mary Jones.

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/mary-jones-named-high-spirits-awards-best-cannabis-soda-for-second-consecutive-year-302119786.html
Mary Jones has won awards showing their products are top of the line and will quickly become the leading product anywhere they choose to expand to.
On March 5, 2024, not too long ago. The company announced an all new expansion into the alcohol market with their Spiked Jones Hard Soda.
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/jones-soda-launches-spiked-jones-hard-craft-soda-with-rainmakerlocust-cider-partnership-302079963.html
Spiked Jones launched with 19.2 ounce single cans and a mixed pack of 12 ounce sleek cans. The 12oz cans feature 8.4% alcohol by volume and the 19.2oz 6.9% alcohol by volume.
I don’t want to be too opinionated in this post and mainly just want to highlight to expansions the company has made, but it has to be said as a person that both smokes weed and drinks alcohol all of their products sound like things I would absolutely want to try. Personally the 1000mg syrup tinctures that you mix yourself sound amazing and I’ve tried the hard jones myself the fact that it’s made with real cane sugar and not other crap additives along with the fact it’s a higher alcohol content compared to other similar products it’s by far just better designed. No getting sick from low alcohol high amounts of sugar like other comparable products.
Financially the company has been continuously improving top line revenue, while making little profit as it continues to reinvest in their expanding markets. Looking solely at profit the company is stagnant as it nets a negative each quarter. Despite that, revenue in every category continues to improve in many key sectors and metrics. Q4 2023 / 2023 summary
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/jones-soda-reports-fourth-quarter-200500945.html
https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2024/05/14/2881855/0/en/Jones-Soda-Reports-First-Quarter-2024-Results.html
Recently the company collaborate with the Fallout T.V series producers to release a limited edition Nuka Cola Quantum and Nuka Cola Victory sodas.
https://www.ign.com/articles/2015/10/29/bethesda-teams-up-with-jones-soda-for-nuka-cola-quantum-soda
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/jones-soda-teams-up-with-prime-video-kilter-films-and-bethesda-game-studios-for-limited-edition-nuka-cola-victory-special-release-craft-soda-to-celebrate-the-new-fallout-series-302077519.html
These collaborative product were sold on Amazon as well as in stores and brought new customers to the company as a whole.
TLDR: Jones Soda has worked hard to expand into markets other than its original craft soda mainline products. With a wide range of THC infused products selling in 4 U.S states and Canada, along with a new national selling alcohol hard soda. Both products are new, interest, and selling quickly and bringing fresh revenue to a solid company.

2024.06.09 19:29 TheCoastalCardician A few years ago, a diamond ring was lost. I found the GIA report with the diamond’s inscription. Is there anything I can do with this information?

Hi, guys 👋 😊
It’s taken quite a bit of emotional strength to be here asking this question after needing years working up to finding the GIA report.
Finding the diamond would be far, far more than the diamond’s value. Matter-of-fact, I don’t even need the diamond or any money. If I were to find any record of this diamond’s sale it would be…absolutely life changing. I hope my use of the ellipse indicates the gravity 😅
I’m in good spirits and glad I can be a little silly still.
Any direction someone has that they can point me in is greatly appreciated. Thank you! I’ve been waiting years to start this and here I am!

2024.06.09 19:28 throwaway_1691 Analysing Great Eastern Shipping

(Disclaimer: please note I am not qualified to give an investment advice and I am not giving one. My family has some shares in this company).
For the sake of not boring you guys, I'll come to the point about Great Eastern Shipping (BSE: GESHIP) I have seen in the five bullet below.
1/ Valuation: The company's P/E ratio (6.3x on last twelve months) and EV/EBITDA ratio (4.5x) trends among the lowest in the Indian companies that market cap of more than $1 billion. If you compare this to closest peer in shipping industry, Shipping Corporation of India trends at P/E of 16.9x and EV/EBITDA of 9x. It is also lower than other shipyard companies like Cochin Shipyard, Container Corporation of India. Note that I have used Bloomberg data for the metrics.
2/ Profitability: During the current upcycle in freight prices in shipping industry, it has been earning lucrative EBITDA margins of more than 50% for the last three years. Even in down cycle years, it has made about 30% margins, much more than average an average company. Even when we go down to its Net Income margins, it currently trends at a strong level of above 40% (excluding some one off profits). In their Offshore ship segment (20% of sales), they are expecting significant increase in prices for quite a few shipping vessels they have on contract.
3/ Financial Health: The company's cash balance is more than doubled its debt. If you look at cash and cash equivalents as a percentage of market cap, it is close to 40%. Net of debt, this ratio (net cash to market cap) is about 18%.
4/ Growth: There is limited sales growth in short term as they cannot increase the number of ships they have because these investments tend to be capital intensive. They have also seen revenue declines lately.
5/ Payback perspective: If you imagine that you are acquiring this company as a whole, based on the last year's profit, the pay back period is of about 5 years ( based on the ratio of their current enterprise value to their net income). GESHIP's dividend yield is above average at about 2.5%.
If you want to discuss more, do post questions in comments/DM me. I have looked through its recent reports and am happy to share what I know.

2024.06.09 19:28 calypsos_heart Help? Michigan

Here goes, so in 2020 my mom died and then my little brother died suddenly three months later. My mom died without a will. At first, my sibling and I decided to let the house go. We didn't care. At that point, we had no idea what the future would hold if anything at all. I was busy working as a nurse, stressed to the absolute maximum
Fast forward to September of 2021. I thought maybe we should give another thought to the house. It was then placed into pandemic forbearance. I obtained an attorney to push forward with probate. There was no will.
For a long time, nothing happened. In April of 2023, on the recommendation from the servicer, I completed paperwork for a loan modification. I was denied, based on missing paperwork, and never notified. When I got a hold of the servicer, they said I would have to apply again. I did so 3 more times. I was denied on my fourth and final attempt.
The home is still in foreclosure status, with a sheriff sale as of the 24th of this month. It has not been posted on the house and my attorney cannot see it in the paper (or wherever they look to see this information as an attorney.)
Not that it matters, but I've made my peace with this. I thought at one time saving the house was a viable option. I now realize it was a stupid thought.
The home is in awful condition, however; I realize that whoever purchases likely will have their own contractors and they will easily restore and flip.
I met with a real estate person today. She offered me $5,000 over what is owed on the house. The amount owed is $95,000 less than what the servicer is saying it is worth.
I have no idea what to do. Quite frankly, I'm ready to give up.
If anyone has any words of advice, they would be appreciated.
As for any negative comments, I get it. No one hates me more than me right now. I am woefully inadequate and I know that my stupidity is what got me into this in the first place. I should have researched options and I didn't. There is nothing you can say that is worse than what I tell myself, Every.Single.Day.Of.My.Life.
I just don't know what to do. I have no one to talk to about this. My sibling is uninterested and I have no knowledge outside of the medical field. It is now in the 11th hour and perhaps the sheriffs sale is the best and only option.
Thanks for reading.

2024.06.09 19:26 bugman345 How I’m making $3,000 a month as a teen

I have tried many strategies to make money in the past but this is the first that has worked for me: the plr affiliate method. (This is a long read so I apologise in advance)
So first things first, what is PLR? I wasn’t sure either until January of this year when I stumbled across a video on YouTube. This is Private Label Rights, this means that essentially you buy the rights to sell something as your own and you keep all of the profits. This can be e-books and courses.
This essentially was a lightbulb switch moment for me. I could get a finished product and sell it as my own and keep all of the profits. I tried creating content myself and created a shopify website and put my finished product ebook in my bio (YouTube any video on how to list a digital product on shopify). I then put the shopify link in my bio, this was not a success and I realised that I would have to think outside the box to make this work.
I had another moment of inspiration, what if I was able to ask social media accounts with an established following to put the link in their bio and I would offer them a percentage of every sale they make (I offered a 50/50 cut). So for the next few days I grinded and sent direct messages and emails to Instagram and tiktok accounts, I mainly targeted accounts with large followings that did not have any links currently in their bio and I have had the greatest success with these accounts. I was able to create the affiliate programme on shopify using a plug called uppromote, there are many videos that explain how to set this up on YouTube.
So why would accounts with large following agree to my proposal despite them supplying all of the following?
The answer is simple, a lot of people have a great ability to create content, but perhaps do not have the business acumen or have the motivation to create a revenue stream themselves. This method provides them a easy solution to this problem.
After a lot of grinding and a lot of messages I had gained clients and five months later I’m at the point where I have 31 affiliates selling my e books and courses in their bio. The total following of these accounts is 8.4 million followers across all platforms - a following I would not have been able to attain myself with my content creation skills.
The numbers, what everyone is here for! This method has generated me $11,000 in profit since January (50% of sales went to affiliates so $22,000 revenue). Things started out slow but are picking up fast, last month has been particularly good, generating me $3,000 in profit from easy and passive income.
Problems and issues I’ve encountered: understandingly so the accounts often want to see the product they are selling before they agree to be an affiliate for the product. I originally had a problem finding high quality products, I am not going to name the website I would recommend for those looking high quality plr on here as I received downvotes last time (I am not going to name it here as I was called a shill the other time I did this haha) but you can send a message to me and I can give you advice on where to look. This website offers a bundle which provides a wide array of high quality finished products that are from all sorts of niches. I have found other plr products that I have purchased to be of bad quality so it is important to find a good website.
I’m sure you are wondering the following question: if you are making money off of this why are you sharing with us? The answer is simple, there are hundreds of thousands of social media accounts with large followings, this method is unsaturated and I figured it could help make someone else’s life a little easier financially.
Why do I recommend this method? 1.) Once established this method is completely passive 2.) You gain exposure to large followings that would take years to build. 3.) relatively low set up costs. The bundle I recommend purchasing is $199 and shopify monthly payments are roughly $50 per month. There are no other costs incurred. 4.) unlimited earnings potential. There’s no ceiling as to what you can earn. The more accounts that agree to become an affiliate for you the more you will make
I hope you enjoyed the read , if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask them below.

2024.06.09 19:25 The_Dalai_Karma FC11C Disappointment and Initial Observations Compared to Original FC11

I had some time to play around with both of these side by side over the weekend. Overall, I have some reservations about the FC11C's driver and wanted to confirm if what I'm observing is what's expected. But so far I would consider the FC11C a disappointment. Like many, I'm very curious to see some proper runtime graphs by the pros here to know if my experience is unique.
I don't have the proper test equipment to confirm but here's what I observed so far:
Test 1: FC11C 519a 5000k and FC11 519a 5000k both using stock fully charged 18650 battery from Wurkkos, charged using a Vapcell S4 Plus v2.
Began test by setting both lights to ramping mode. Turned both lights on and increased brightness to the top of the ramp (until I got a flash) and left both lights on side by side so I could observe any dimming against a wall & observe any relative brightness or change in width to the cone of output from the emitter for when output steps down.
At this point, I thought... this doesn't make any sense. The FC11C was not observed to be brighter than the FC11 at any point during the 2 hrs and 15 minutes of testing, nor did it run more efficiently than the FC11.
Test 2: I tried again, except this time I substituted the Wurkkos batteries for fully-charged Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh Flat Tops.
Good things about the FC11C:
Honestly though, if it weren't for the lower moonlight and the fact that the light ran ~5 degrees cooler. I would not be able to tell the difference between these two lights.
Am I missing something here? I Was expecting the FC11C to have the following advantages:
But no luck. Again, I'm watching both lights and their respective beam cones side by side against a wall in a dark room so while I can't discern objective brightness, I felt like I had a good vantage point for relative brightness. The FC11C didn't not display any relatively brightness advantages to my eyes. Perhaps I'm fundamentally misunderstanding the benefits of a CC drive but not what I expected from my eyeballs and the multimeter.
Also, & this is entirely subjective, but the beam on the FC11 was a more consistent pure 5000k with minimal tint shift, very neutral. With the FC11C, the beam seems a few hundred kelvin warmer and perhaps a little more yellow in the tint shift. Could be binning issues.
I would be curious to hear others' experiences or if my expectations are out of line. I'm just entirely puzzled by this and if I may, would be great to crowdsource from input from the community. Thank you

Bottom rim of tank cracked
Picked up one of the 45g Marineland combos on sale right now from PetSmart.
Of course it’s not until I get home do I notice the bottom rim of the tank is cracked almost dead center. It looks like it must have had something underneath it at one point because it looks like a stress crack upwards from the bottom side.
I assume this would be a bad idea to try to use this still, right?
I called the store they were super cool and said they’ll exchange it no problem which is likely what I’ll do anyways but just a pain to drive all the way back.

2024.06.09 19:23 Quality_Computer Inverter Price in Nepal: Don't Buy Until You Read This! Price of Inverter in Nepal The best place to buy inverters in Nepal

Introduction

Nepal is one of the most power-cut prone countries in the world. In fact, power outages are so common that many Nepalese households and businesses rely on inverters to provide backup power.
If you're thinking about buying an inverter, it's important to do your research and choose the right one for your needs. There are many different types of inverters available on the market, and not all of them are created equal.
In this blog post, we'll take a look at the inverter price in Nepal, the different types of inverters and batteries available from such brands as Sukam, Suvastika, Delta, Livfast, and Asian etc, and how to choose the right inverter for your needs. We'll also provide some helpful tips on how to install and maintain your inverter.

What is an inverter?

An inverter is a device that converts direct current (DC) electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity. AC electricity is the type of electricity that powers most homes and businesses.

Why do you need an inverter in Nepal?

Nepal is one of the most power-cut prone countries in the world. Power outages can last for hours or even days, and they can be very disruptive to daily life.
An inverter can provide backup power during a power outage. This can allow you to continue to use your lights, appliances, and other electronic devices.

Where to buy Inverter in Nepal?

Quality Computer Birtamod is the best Place to buy Inverters in Nepal. Established in 2000, QC only sells genuine company-made products so that people don't have to worry about buying anything refurbished.

Types of inverters

There are two main types of inverters: sine wave inverters and modified sine wave inverters.
Sine wave inverters produce the purest form of AC electricity. This makes them ideal for powering sensitive electronic devices, such as computers and medical equipment.
Modified sine wave inverters produce a less pure form of AC electricity. However, they are still capable of powering most household appliances and electronic devices.

How to choose the right inverter?

When choosing an inverter, there are a few factors to consider:

Inverter price in Nepal

The price of an inverter in Nepal depends on a number of factors, including the power rating, type of inverter, and brand. However, as a general rule of thumb, you can expect to pay between NPR 10,000 and NPR 50,000 for a good quality inverter. Here is the price list for Inverters in Nepal:
Name Sales Price (NPR)
Su-kam 1600VA/24V Falcon Plus Inverter Rs. 18,500
Su-Kam 1600VA/24V Solar Hybrid Brainy Eco Inverter Rs. 18,500
Sukam 400VA/12V Frendy Inverter Rs. 7,500
Sukam 900VA/12V Falcon Inverter Rs. 11,000
Sukam 900VA/12V Falcon Plus Inverter Rs. 13,500
Su-Vastika 1100VA/12V Solar Hybrid Inverter Rs. 14,000
Su-vastika 1600VA/24V Falcon Plus Inverter Rs. 17,500
Su-Vastika 1600VA/24V Solar Hybrid Inverter Rs. 17,800
Su-vastika 2.5KVA/24V Solar Hybrid Brainy Inverter Rs. 34,500

Here is a simple way to calculate how much power inverter needed for your devices or home:

  1. Make a list of all the devices that you want to power with the inverter.
  2. For each device, find the power rating in watts. This information is usually found on the device itself or in the owner's manual.
  3. Add up the power ratings of all the devices on your list.
  4. Add a 20% margin of safety to the total power rating. This will ensure that your inverter has enough power to handle all of your devices, even if they are all running at the same time.
For example, if you want to power a laptop (65 watts), a monitor (30 watts), and a router (10 watts), you would need an inverter with a power rating of at least 105 watts.

Common devices and their power ratings:

Device Power rating in watts
Laptop 65
Monitor 30
Router 10
TV 100-200
Refrigerator 150-200
Freezer 100-150
Washing machine 200-300
Dryer 200-300
Air conditioner 500-1000
If you are unsure of the power rating of a device, you can usually find it on the device itself or in the owner's manual. You can also search online for the power rating of a specific device.
Once you have calculated the total power rating of all the devices that you want to power with the inverter, you can choose an inverter with a power rating that is equal to or greater than the total power rating.

How to install and maintain your inverter

It is important to have your inverter installed by a qualified electrician. This will ensure that the inverter is installed correctly and that it is safe to use.
Once your inverter is installed, it is important to maintain it properly. This includes checking the battery levels regularly and cleaning the inverter regularly.

Conclusion

Inverters can be a valuable asset for Nepalese households and businesses. By choosing the right inverter and installing it correctly, you can ensure that you have backup power in the event of a power outage.

  2. Try Prime for Free First Not sure if Prime is right for you? Amazon offers a 30-day free trial so you can test it out first before fully committing. Just be sure to set a calendar reminder before the 30 days is up to avoid getting charged automatically.
  3. Get an EBT/Food Stamps Discount If you qualify for government assistance programs like SNAP EBT Food Stamps, WIC, and more, you can get an amazing discount on Prime membership - just $6.99 per month.
  4. Use the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa The Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature card earns 5% back at Amazon and Whole Foods. There's also a $100 Amazon gift card bonus for signing up. Cash back is redeemed as points that cover future Amazon purchases.
  5. Score an Amazon Gift Card Bonus Adding gift cards to your account is an easy way to save money on Amazon. They frequently offer promotional credit when reloading a gift card balance, like $10 free with a $100 reload.
  6. Send Amazon eGift Cards to Earn Coins When making a purchase, choose the option to email an Amazon gift card code to yourself. For every gift card email sent, you'll get coin rewards (typically 5% of the card value) through Amazon's Coins rewards program.
  7. Earn Rewards with Amazon's Subscribe & Save Amazon's Subscribe & Save service gives you 15% off (plus free shipping) on recurring deliveries for things like household items, pet food, diapers, and vitamins. You can also earn 20% off Subscribe & Save orders that include 5 or more subscriptions in the same month.
  8. Join Amazon Family & Save 20% on Diapers/Baby Food For customers with kids, Amazon Family gives you 20% off subscriptions for diapers, baby food, and more through Subscribe & Save. You also get a 15% discount on eligible products from your baby registry.
  9. Try Amazon Elements & Amazon Fresh Amazon's private label brands are shockingly affordable. Amazon Elements provides grocery and household essentials at a flat 20% discount over name brands, while Amazon Fresh has great prices on groceries and meal kits.
  10. Leverage Amazon Warehouse Discounts Amazon Warehouse is a hidden gem for deeply discounted open-box and pre-owned products. You can find big savings on laptops, tablets, furniture, and more - all covered by Amazon's standard return policy.
  11. Price Match Amazon's Competition Amazon's huge product catalog means the prices are generally quite competitive. But if you do find a better deal on the same new, authentic item from a qualifying retailer, Amazon will price match it. Just use the "Product price is lower" link on the listing.
  12. Use Amazon Coupons & Promo Codes Don't forget to stack coupons and promo codes on top of Amazon's regular prices. You can find coupons that take 5-20% off a product price or get things like a free smart speaker with purchase. Just clip or enter the codes at checkout.
  13. Score Discounts with a .edu Email Address Do you or someone in your family have an active .edu email address from a university? Amazon offers exclusive discounts for students on a range of products with this email. Things like software, music, books, and Amazon Prime are cheaper.
  14. Get Amazon Wish Lists Discounts Creating an Amazon wish list (for yourself or for others) makes you eligible for occasional discount offers on those items. Amazon does this to incentivize "shopping the wish list" purchases.
  15. Use Cash Back & Rebate Sites Don't leave free cash back on the table. Browser extensions like Rakuten, CouponCabin and store cash back credit cards will earn a percentage back on all Amazon purchases. It takes no effort and the savings stack up fast.
  16. Take Advantage of Amazon Prime Day Amazon's annual Prime Day sale event in July is absolutely massive and often beats Black Friday deals. But you need an active Prime membership to access these rock-bottom prices.
  17. Try Before you Subscribe with HBO Free Trials Many Amazon services like HBO, Kindle Unlimited, and Amazon Music Unlimited offer extended 30-day free trials. Don't forget to take advantage and stack these on top of your Prime membership perks.
  18. Purchase Amazon Renewed Products Products listed as "Amazon Renewed" are refurbished and repackaged at a big discount with the same 90-day supplier warranty as new purchases. This includes smartphones, laptops, TVs, and home appliances.
  19. Use an Amazon Cash Reload Code Look out for promotions where you receive a percentage bonus when loading funds into your Amazon account balance using a reload code. These offers can drive the effective cost of purchases 5-20% lower.
  20. Browse the Amazon Outlet + "Bargain Bin" Hidden deep within Amazon are sections like the "Bargain Bin" and Amazon Outlet where you can find overstocked items, buyer remorse returns, and more at clearance pricing. Worth digging through if you're patient!
There you have it - 20 easy ways to save a ton of money the next time you shop on Amazon.com. Get strategic about combining deals, promotions, discounts and cash back rewards. Those small savings add up to keep so much more money in your pocket over time.

2024.06.09 19:17 madsci1016 Home Assistant users with Unifi Protect Integration, PLEASE READ

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): There’s been drama and the main developer of the HA Unifi Protect integration has been booted out. There’s currently no one stepping up to take over. You need to either stop updating Unifi Protect (so that an update doesn’t break your HA integration), or take measures to switch over to that developers (now unofficial) integration.
Long Version:
(I’m gonna try and save my opinions till the end and avoid editorializing)
If you remember, the (formerly) main developer for the Unifi Protect Integration has strong feelings for Ubiquiti’s decision to require Unifi cloud access to enable local Smart detections. As an attempted protest/raise awareness, he submitted a pull request to the main HA branch that intentionally broke smart detection integration. If accepted, that would have meant all users of HA that use this integration and that feature would have had it stop working. The HA staff did not approve that pull request.
A few months following, he submitted a pull request that simply changed the license to ‘Business Source License” instead of an MIT open-source license. Please read his reasoning at that link.
In response, HA removed his access to the HA official github for the integration and removed his account as the maintainer of it. They forked his library at the point before the license was changed, and no one has really stepped up to take place as the official maintainer, so it’s left in a state of limbo.
I asked for some clarification on what that meant on an issue report, and he replied. The reply was quickly deleted by HA staff, but I have a copy saved. I think it’s worth reading so i will post it at the end.
He has continued to work on new features and bug fixes on his personal git repository. If you want to switch to it, you will have to manually install his version of Unifi Protect integration. This has been no such development on the official version.
My Opinion:
First, let me say I’d tried to capture these events as an outsider to the best of my ability. And I’ve tried to interpret them with my somewhat rookie understanding of the nuances of open-source collaborative development at this scale. So please forgive and feel free to correct anything. I just think this series of events and how it will impact the users of this code need to laid out in one place.
AngellusMortis was dead right about Ubiquiti requiring cloud access for local smart detections to be enabled. That’s a misstep by Ubiquiti’s commitment to staying 100% local (if the user wanted) and they have not addressed that when it’s called out. However, I will admit he can also get short/spicy when answering issues on github with his integration, and his actions with the pull requests and license change were extreme. I wish there were more attempts at working this out with more middle ground before this forking became inevitable, as the only people that suffer when an OSS repo is forked for drama are the end users.
However he seems to be a very good programmer (put the best way possible from an end user), and any programmer that shares code like this must also be credited for being generous. I owe him a beer and a steak dinner if I ever meet him in real life, as a large part of my home automation relies on it. For example:
And that was all possible to AngellusMortis work.
His reply to me that was deleted:
I would find it surprising if the core integration is ever updated again. And if it is, it will only ever be for the most basic of support. I really doubt there will ever be impactful new features added as I have been doing. Things like the Media Source, sensodoor lock support (RIP), exposing the event thumbnails for notifications, and many others. There is a sub-50 line PR that adds a feature I kept overlooking by accident that has been sitting for literally over a month. HA does not give a shit about this integration enough to approve the CI run so it can be merged. It is because the members of the org do not give a shit about security cameras inside of HA since it does not fit into their view of what Home Assistant should be used for. It is also why the video player for HA is fundamentally broken for security cameras and has been for literally years.
They are choosing to segment the integration and force someone to pick it up, which is unlikely to every happen. The license specifically allows usage in HA. It just has to be my code, as it was written. With no fork. This is a growing problem with the open-source world. More and more companies and groups, in this case Naba Casa, want to reap all of the benefits from open-source projects without any rules or restrictions. Open-source absolutism is what I call it. OSI and anyone that always calls for open-source absolutism just conveniently ignore the time and effort people put into open source. Usually for their own benefit and profit. Look at the story of Elasticsearch and AWS.
It is still open source. You can still do whatever you want with it, you just cannot intentionally cut me out of a project that I have contributed 95% of the code to and I want to retain the right to be able to restrict its usage for projects that cause me stress or too much additional work. HA is perfectly okay with rejecting contributions anytime they do not want to take on the additional burden of work a feature would cause them. But since it is the "the largest open-source project in the world" they can just go "lol, then fork us" and say fuck you to anything else who wants the same rights.
In this case, Nabu Casa employees want to come into my code and dictate terms to how I write and manage it all because they refuse to come up with alternative solutions. The only solutions proposed are almost always "contribute something better". Of course, they will just deny anything that does not fit into their limited view of what "home users" want, even if actual users show them that they are wrong (5th highest feature request of all time).
Okay, you do not like something my library is doing, that I have intentionally added to handle support issues for Home Assistant because Home Assistant Github and support fucking sucks. Guess what? It is on you to make a better working solution. Not me. Of course, when I make these complaints, I am ignored or gaslit about it. When the burden of dealing with literally hundreds of people making the same fucking support issue over and over again makes me a bit hostile, no wants even think to offer to help. Or make support suck ass for suck a large project. Or let me link to my own documentation and support. When I change the license because of it, HA decides to keep ignoring the situation and pretend like nothing is wrong. Of course, there is the double-standard when Nabu Casa employees want to do the same thing, and for the same reason. They do not want to deal with the support that will be generated by the project being used in the manner that it is.
I have always been very open about how shitty HA treats their contributors. Not everyone works full time on open-source or are employed by Nabu Casa so they can continue to do so. There is a reason why once an integration "loses" a codeowner it stops getting features and just breaks. And new people will choose to make a HACS integration instead of trying to update or maintain the core one. Because of the rules, micromanaging and bullshit. Code reviews for style issues, or performance issues are great. But if you want to decide to use a part of Home Assistant in a way that they do not like, you will just be alienated, ignored or kicked out. If you do not fucking like people accessing hass.data directly, then make a real API and stop putting burden of your mine trap of rules on contributors. Contributors that write software because they find it fun and want to make something cool. Not be your fucking code monkeys or support bitches. Of course, once again, HA will also choose to block custom integrations that do things they do not like or cause additional support burden on them, but you are never allowed to try to make things easier for you as a contributor.

2024.06.09 19:16 Twistytee [wts] Tarptent Double Rainbow (42oz)

Selling my Tarptent Double Rainbow that I bought from original owner. This is the pre-redesign version with the sewn carbon strut. It is a semi-free standing tent with integrated fly and floor that requires four corners to be staked or trekking poles to be used at the base for free standing mode. Comes with Easton aluminum arch pole and sewn carbon strut. Also comes with the optional silk condensation liner, pole pockets (for free-standing mode) and 6 Easton aluminum tent pegs.
The tent is made from 30d silnylon and is in good condition with no flaws/holes in the nylon body, floor or mesh. I did add a gear aid patch to one of the floor tie-out points to protect the threads (see photos). The PO also appears to have briefly stored it damp during a trip as there is some light spotting on the yellow pole sleeve (see photos). This has faded with use and when I air it in the sun after trips. No odors and it's stored in a climate controlled gear room between outings.
Tent has been used with a polycro ground sheet and includes the original stuff sack and nylon stake bag. I do have a lab that's been in the tent so don't purchase if allergic to stray dog hairs. I vacuumed and wiped down the tent to prep for sale.
Asking $140 and I will split shipping with buyer based on zip (contact me for quote).
Please comment below before reaching out by DM. Happy to answer any questions.

2024.06.09 19:08 newvegasfan69 Help with crashes

Hello fellow NV fans!
I come to you in an effort to (possibly) fix the near constant crashing of my NV.
It crashes around 30-40 minutes playing OR in specific areas wich I cannot go through, i.e. McCarran interior around Col. Hsu, The Mojave Outpost interior around Maj. Knight and Ranger Jackson.
I am aware that certain mods should be a no-go together like New California and TTW, for instance. My intention with adding specifically New California was cause I wanted a few specific armors and such.
Looking for any specific help or general directions and knowledge in this area.
PS: have lots of crash logs.
Thanks in advance.

2024.06.09 18:56 bojwater Miscellaneous questions about technique

These questions pertain to gravel as that is what I primarily drive on.
  1. I read someone say how a certain car (one of the 97-2011?'s) ideally needs to be shifted a little earlier than usual. How does one find the ideal shift point for each car? Other than looking at the rpm gauge and listening to the engine sound, are there any other things to look for to find the right shift point?
  2. I drive manual sequential with clutch over ride on. I recently started using clutch kicks when I get bogged down in sharp corners. Is there ever any reason to use clutch kicks at medium to high speeds? How often do people at the top of the leaderboards use clutch kicks? The youtubers I watch never seem to use them. Maybe their driving is too refined to need to use clutch kicks?
  3. When it comes to keeping 100% throttle/brake input at all times, how close are top drivers to actually doing this? Any tips on how to become more precise with your inputs?
  4. Roughly what percentage of corners should trail braking be used on?
