I rescued my chihuahua miniature pinscher 8 years ago, and he’s probably about 9 years old. He has always been difficult with others, and likely experienced some kind of abuse and trauma before we rescued him. He’s not good with others for the most part, even worse with dogs, and extremely reactive. But has always been amazing with my wife and mostly good with me, but she’s definitely his person.
His more severe seizures started a year ago, and he’s now heavily medicated and the seizures are under control but his behavior is getting worse and he’s on even more of a hair wire trigger now then he’s ever been. He’s now barking at cars just driving by, goes red any time he sees another dog now, won’t let anyone near my wife or daughter, etc.
We had a baby 2 years ago, that combined with the pandemic and losing his interest in dog parks, and him becoming crazy protective of my wife during her pregnancy and now the seizures and the meds he just isn’t doing as well as he used to be.
He absolutely loves and adores my daughter, and she loves and adores him, they literally do everything together but it’s completely worn him out. They play together all day every day. He rarely gets to nap anymore, he gets kept up by her at night (she’s teething again), and the less sleep he gets the worse he behaves and the worse his health gets. He used to sleep 12-16 hours a day like most dogs his age, and he maybe sleeps 8-12 hours a day now and it’s mostly interrupted and broken up.
In the past 3 days he’s lunged and nipped my daughter in the face scratching her twice now. They’re significant enough that it’s leaving marks taking days to heal. I’m at a loss because it’s complicated.
Now the first time, my wife was sitting on the couch eating a steak for dinner and our dog was fixed on that meat for seriously 30 minutes. He wouldn’t take his eyes off it. She was sitting between him and the meat on a tv tray - he was 2.5ft from the steak at eye level to him the entire time. I always tell my wife to put her food away if she’s done eating but she’s the slowest eater I’ve ever met, and her and my daughter graze for what feels like hours.
My wife was not paying attention to him at all, and was playing with my daughter and kept swinging her up on her legs onto her lap while sitting constantly putting my daughter’s face directly between the steak and our dog.
I told my wife, “That doesn’t look safe, and I don’t think that’s a very good idea.”
She immediately scolded me and said, “It’s fine, I do this all the time…” and before she could finish her sentence she flung my daughter into our dogs face putting her face inches from his directly between him and the steak he was staring down for the past 30 minutes and he lunged without warning and nipped her on the cheek. He honestly looked just as surprised as everyone else that he actually came in contact with her, and it did not seem that he had any intent to scratch her or even really make any contact with her.
I do not know why my wife was not aware of the situation unfolding, even as I tried to bring it to her attention she only had eyes for my daughter and just ignored the fact the dog was there and she was antagonizing him with our baby and the steak without realizing it.
He over reacted to the situation and had already endured 30 minutes of eyeing that steak and at least several minutes of having a 2 year old flung over and over again in his face when all he wanted was a bite of her food.
I watched the whole thing go down, and honestly I’d say it was at least 50% my wife’s fault, if not more. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want my dog nipping my kid ever. Especially not on the face. But my daughters face and my 14lbs dogs face shouldn’t be anywhere near each other in this situation. The responsibility to protect both of them was on my wife, and I but I was unable to convince my wife in time of her lack of awareness of what she was doing.
Now today, my wife was going to take a nap with my daughter and our dog - one of the few times he actually gets some sleep. None of us slept well last night. Everyone was grumpy all day including our dog. Anyhow the dog jumped on the bed in his usual spot, immediately started to fall asleep and my wife then lets my daughter climb onto bed right where the dog was and stick her face in his face while she’s climbing up onto the foot of the bed.
Once again, my wife allowed my daughter to quickly fling herself into our dogs space, disturbing him while he’s trying to finally sleep, and he nipped her on the face again. This time he scratched the same side of her face again right below her eye again.
I don’t know what my wife was thinking or why she let our daughter do this. There was absolutely no logical reason for why my daughter should be climbing onto the bed essentially in the dogs face or invading his space. The dog sleeps on my side of the bed at the foot of the bed.
I’ve already talked to her about this, and told her our dog is exhausted, old, his health is not well, and he already endures constant stress all day from our daughter and 99% of the time is amazing with her and tolerates it but he needs some alone time and space. Meanwhile our daughter should not be putting her face in his face.
I realize my wife is also exhausted, and we just got over our 3rd round of Covid, but she’s now putting us in a horrible position because she isn’t managing our daughter and the dog well and is putting them both in stupid situations where my daughter is getting hurt and my dog is being stressed out to the point of hurting my daughter when I’m fairly certain it’s not his intention. He is just at his breaking point.
For me this is pretty much a 3 strikes and we have to take serious action situation. Two incidents in such a short time span is not acceptable behavior on my dogs part, even if my wife is responsible.
My daughter’s safety comes first, even if that means I have to protect her from my dog or even my wife’s sleep deprived decision making.
At this point I’m considering hiring a behavioral dog trainer and getting their opinion.
Also looking at getting him a new crate and just crating him at night so he sleeps and maybe make him nap in the crate during the day sometimes. He really has no space of his own anymore since the baby. He used to be create trained as a puppy.
If he hurts my daughter again he likely needs to be rehomed or put down. His med schedule, diet, and seizures are not easy to manage and he cannot be left home alone in the event he has a seizure and requires rescue medication. Factor in his increasing aggressive behavior and hair wire trigger with other dogs and dislike of most people finding someone else to deal with this going to be difficult.
The whole thing is truly heartbreaking because he’s been a loyal and loving companion for my wife and I, and he loves my daughter and I don’t think he wants to hurt her. He just can’t handle the stress anymore.
Anyhow sorry for the wall of text. I’m at a loss here. I love my daughter, my wife, and my dog but my wife is struggling to manage him and he’s now hurt my daughter twice - they’re just scratches and he’s not really drawing blood but it’s still too close to crossing a line.

I recently purchased a used car from a friend and tried to insure it. My old car broke down in the fall, and after trying to fix it for months, I decided to cut my losses and had it junked. So after paying for car insurance for about 6 months on the car and not driving it I cancelled the insurance. When I did this, State Farm did not tell me I would have to re-apply for insurance and there would be a chance I would be dropped.
Fast forward to today. I thought I would be able to just purchase a new policy and have car insurance that day since I have had State Farm for 15+ years and I have other insurance policies with them including whole life insurance and renters insurance. They tell me that I have to reapply since I canceled my policy and I would take 2 weeks for the policy to be effective. New law in California apparently. Then I get a voicemail saying that they will not cover me because I had 2 accidents last winter.
This is what upsets me-
-the agent never told me that this was a possibility when I cancelled my insurance. They did offer to pause the policy until I got a new care but did not specify there was a chance I would not be able to receive a new policy under the new regulations and my driving history.
-both of my accidents were minor and a result of bad weather and road conditions. Where I live, we had record breaking snowfall. I worked as a first responder which required me to drive in atrocious weather to and from work so I could help people, I did not have a choice to not drive during bad weather and storms because it was my job to be on duty those days. My town was literally declared to be in an official state of emergency. FEMA and the National Guard were present, not that this is relevant to car insurance just painting a picture.
I’m not claiming to have no fault, I am not a perfect driver or person but I feel like I could have been given more information from my agent before canceling my policy. I have been with this particular agent for 10 years.
I know this post is long and the chances of it being read are probably low, but if anyone has any insight, that would be great.

I’ve been 19 for a month and notice that I’m not attracted to most of the people I crushed on or was attracted to between 4th-11th grade. Middle school was a weird time for me wherein I think I was attracted to a wider variety of people than I am now, and was more open minded about what I liked in terms of physical appearance (didn’t have as much of a set preference as I think I sort of do now that I’m an adult.) I even subjectively find a fair number of them unattractive now.

Alhamdulillah I live in the US, in a city that has a LOT of Muslims! The city I live in is very known to have the a lot of Muslims in the US.. anyways, we live in a court/cul-de-sac, and at least 60% of my neighborhood is Muslim. There are many nice non-Muslims too. Anyways, the other day at night around 10 pm, we could hear loud screaming outside. It was so loud that im sure it disturbed all the neighbors. From our bedroom window, we have a perfect view of the entire neighborhood court and can also hear everything. One of our neighbors, a white non-Muslim lady most likely in her 30s or 40s was walking around looking very obviously drunk. She was screaming slurs about Muslims and cursing all Muslims out. Saying the B word, F word, calling Muslims c**ts, and "Go back to your country" and so many more terrible things which I cannot even remember anymore. No one was outside except her but im sure all the neighbors could hear bc she was so loud. It was terrifying. The lady knows this neighborhood is mostly Muslim. All the while she was speaking, she was also randomly pointing at houses as well cursing us out.
Anyways, Isha is very late at the masjid now and my dad usually comes home late after mingling with masjid friends, so during all of this, we see my dad's car pull up into the court slowly. The lady approaches my dad's car and goes to his window. My dad is the type of person who is not good at reading the room, so I immediately called him to tell him to not say anything to the lady and be careful, but his phone was at home, not with him. Afterwards, my dad came home, and we told him that he shouldn't have said anything to her. All of us neighbors pretty much know eachother and we know she lives with her dad. My dad said something like "Go home and be good to your dad." Like I said, my dad is not the best at reading the room or knowing what to say when. Because why would he mention her dad so randomly? Also, our garage was like open about 2 feet up, bc my uncle and dad were finishing up fixing our car. All the other neighbors garages were closed. This is relevant bc this most likely made her think our family or my dad called the police on her. We did not.
Anyways, this lady's screaming kept going for a while, and she finally went back inside the house. Then, we see 3 cop cars pull into our neighborhood and 5 policemen go to her house. One of our neighbors called the police most likely. Or her father called the police. Apparently she and her father fight a lot, so this isn't the first time the police have come. Anyways, they obviously don't arrest her or anything, and about 20 mins later, the police leave.
Now, 2 days later, tonight at around 9:45 pm, we get a ring at our doorbell. When we open the door, it's that lady. Me and my mom both open the door. The lady says, "are there any men here?". My dad was at the masjid, and there were no men in the house. Only my mom, sis, and grandma. So I said, "No." Before I tell you the rest of the conversation, keep in mind, the entire time she talked to us she was cursing, constantly using the F word and just talking plain old rude. My mom later told me she was drunk again. The lady said, "Are you sure there's no man?" I said "No not now." She continues, "because the other day I was walking around the neighborhood and there was this man..", she also said something like, "because if I find out that you're lying then.."! At that, I clarified, "there's no man here right now, but yes, a man, my father also does live here." She accusedly points at me and yells, "So you WERE LYING?!" I said, "No, you asked if a man is here, not if a man LIVES here. That's why we said no at first." She says rudely, "Honey, no, what you're doing is putting words in my mouth!" She said some other things but it's all blurred bc it was so sudden and scary, and she's taller than me (im 5 ft!), clearly drunk, and starts pointing at me and getting wayyy too scarily close to me. According to my mom, she looked like she was ready to throw hands. At this, my mom quickly closes the door because we felt threatened. And the lady cursed again and went back home. The conversation was clearly not gonna go anywhere. I got upset that my mom closed the door though bc I said we could've finished the conversation off by just apologizing and that we will make sure my dad doesn't get into her business again. But before I got a chance to, my mom got too scared and closed the door.
All in all, I feel really scared. After that, we were all shaking. I felt like crying. I feel frustrated because we could've easily had a conversation that ended all this tension by simply us apologizing by "going in her business", but now the situation is worse instead because she most likely thinks we called the cops on her. She also thinks we're liars bc we "lied" about a man not being there. She hates Muslims, and this made her hate us more. My dad should NOT have talked to her that night and should've minded his own business. She seemed most upset at that. Which i understand. Everyone should just mind theirbown business, and my dad thought he was being helpful or something, but that obviosuly triggered her since her realtionship with her dad isnt good. At one point she said something like, "and don't even get me started on your religion, because I have so much to say about that."
Anyways, I can't believe such people exist who have this deep of a hate for Muslims. I don't know what to do about this situation..

So I said, "No." Before I tell you the rest of the conversation, keep in mind, the entire time she talked to us she was cursing, constantly using the F word and just talking plain old rude. My mom later told me she was drunk again. The lady said, "Are you sure there's no man?" I said "No not now." She continues, "because the other day I was walking around the neighborhood and there was this man..", she also said something like, "because if I find out that you're lying then.."! At that, I clarified, "there's no man here right now, but yes, a man, my father also does live here." She accusedly points at me and yells, "So you WERE LYING?!" I said, "No, you asked if a man is here, not if a man LIVES here. That's why we said no at first." She says rudely, "Honey, no, what you're doing is putting words in my mouth!" She said some other things but it's all blurred bc it was so sudden and scary, and she's taller than me (im 5 ft!), clearly drunk, and starts pointing at me and getting wayyy too scarily close to me. According to my mom, she looked like she was ready to throw hands. At this, my mom quickly closes the door because we felt threatened. And the lady cursed again and went back home. The conversation was clearly not gonna go anywhere. I got upset that my mom closed the door though bc I said we could've finished the conversation off by just apologizing and that we will make sure my dad doesn't get into her business again. But before I got a chance to, my mom got too scared and closed the door.
All in all, I feel really scared. After that, we were all shaking. I felt like crying. I feel frustrated because we could've easily had a conversation that ended all this tension by simply us apologizing by "going in her business", but now the situation is worse instead because she most likely thinks we called the cops on her. She also thinks we're liars bc we "lied" about a man not being there. She hates Muslims, and this made her hate us more. My dad should NOT have talked to her that night and should've minded his own business. She seemed most upset at that. Which i understand. Everyone should just mind theirbown business, and my dad thought he was being helpful or something, but that obviosuly triggered her since her realtionship with her dad isnt good. At one point she said something like, "and don't even get me started on your religion, because I have so much to say about that."
Anyways, I can't believe such people exist who have this deep of a hate for Muslims. I don't know what to do about this situation..

I want to change the coolant in my car (2005 airwave/fit/jazz). Called the Honda dealership for a quote on coolant - $168 for 5L (premix, not even concentrate!). This is compared to $65 for 5L of blue Penrite concentrate - even cheaper for premix.
Do I actually need to use the Honda stuff? I splurged for genuine Honda CVT oil when changing that but surely I can save with aftermarket coolant? I checked online that it's not just stealership markup but cheapest I could find was 140 plus shipping from a 3rd party supplier.

This time I'm bringing you two different buffs from within my vast documentation, one of which I've shared before but never got noticed, sadly. submitted by TheGameAce to stunfisk [link] [comments] First up is Cofagrigus with one of the simplest buffs I've ever applied, but it makes all the difference. Good as Gold fits its dex entries stating that it appears to be made of solid gold, while strength sap thematically fits. The former gives it very useful immunity to a number of otherwise obnoxious effects including toxic spikes, toxic, frostbite, encore, leech seed, and of course taunt. This alone makes it much harder to get around, allowing it much more freedom to abuse calm mind. Strength sap puts the icing on the cake though, giving Cofagrigus a reliable form of recovery and an alternate means of physically crippling opponents besides Will-O-Wisp. Historically, Exploud has only ever found usage because of being one of a handful of Pokemon with access to the powerful Boomburst, and STAB on it to boot. However, those stats were never particularly impressive for a 3rd stage Pokemon, and with a lack of options for setup or recovery, it just never amounted to anything worthy of stardom. With my buffs, that changes. Increased bulk helps to make up for a lack of recovery options, while increased special attack makes up for a lack of boosting options. Audio Technician grants a 30% base power boost to sound-based moves, including secondary effects and sound-based status (i.e. screech would lower defense by 3 stages instead of 2; snarl lowers SpA by 2 stages instead of 1). While this might seem like a lot on top of STAB Boomburst, keep in mind the lack of boosting and recovery options, and that using Audio Technician means you forfeit Scrappy's ability to nail Ghost types. Finally you might notice Bellowing Quake. This is Exploud's dex-inspired signature move, effectively being a special-based sound-based (and boosted) Earthquake, hitting opponents for physical damage instead of special. With access to numerous coverage options and even newly-boosted status moves, Exploud should easily find its way into OU both in singles and doubles. In doubles, it has a variety of options from straight up causing heavy damage, to providing your opponent with endless frustration as you continually lower their stats with a plethora of move choices. Hi everyone, I'm mum to a 19 year old young man with Autism and a mild intellectual disability.
All he wants is to find a girlfriend and someone to love. So when a supposed woman of similar age added him on snap on Monday he began chatting and didn't see any issues. Looking through the messages, this person rarely answered my sons questions about herself but instead kept probing for his information and asking him to send her photos of himself. He sent her photos of his face but no nudes thank God!
So, unbeknown to me by Monday evening she was his girlfriend and he believed she loved him. Then she said she'd come visit him Tuesday but needs money for fuel and a new dress. My son tried to say he doesn't have much money and he didn't want too but the power of this persons words were too strong. He ended up giving $50 the first time via Cardless cash and $100 the second time also via cardless cash. This all happened the day of this person contacting him! It happened so quickly.
Yesterday this person sends him a message with his face and pictures of male genitals and a title saying "this man attempted to have sex with a minor" and threatened to send it to friends and post it online etc etc. BUT if he paid $2,000 they wouldn't do anything. Finally he thought to call me and tell me what was happening. We went to the nearest police station and had to file a report online to a cyber crime website controlled by the Police. We also called the bank and unfortunately are unable to recoup that money because it was taken out from ATM's so there's no way to trace it.
We screenshot all conversations and threats then blocked this person and he has deleted his Snapchat account. He has also set other social media platforms to private and changed passwords. We think we'll have to change his phone number as he gave that too.
My son is absolutely beside himself with emotions. As he has Autism he is struggling to understand these feelings and emotions and is also very embarrassed. I am trying to help him understand that these people are good at what they do and that millions of people fall for these scams.
I am posting this in the hopes it helps someone else and that maybe others who have been through this could provide a word of encouragement or share their story.
