Can't watch online through Yes Network

2024.05.16 20:29 kaotiktekno Can't watch online through Yes Network

I don't know what it is, but once I click "Watch Live" I can only get a white screen. I'm on Windows 11, with Firefox my preferred browser, and I am most definitely in the right market....it worked fine last year. I've cleared cookies. Tried Chrome and even Edge. Turned off adblocker. Turned off the VPN. Basically, I tried all the usual stuff, and nothing is working. I can't even get to the screen to login to YES or my cable provider, and I haven't had any issues with any other web based streaming service. Any ideas?

2024.05.16 20:25 GroundbreakingAd523 Recommend CPU for video editing…

Hello everyone, it’s exactly as the title is suggesting: I currently have an HP laptop that has an A9-9410, 16 gigs of ram, and a 250 GBSSD. I mainly use the laptop just for school, and that’s about it. The processor gets bogged down by anything else. “ if I want to stream, I have to use it directly from the web browser” I’m looking into getting into video editing, using CapCut. I’m mainly familiar with using my phone. This would be more convenient if I used it on a laptop. So I’m looking for any recommendations, of a CPU type that could handle using CapCut, and every day tasks. I’m not looking for gaming whatsoever. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, if they could be budget friendly as well that would be also appreciated!

2024.05.16 20:15 Pakkuhya29 10 task challenge to the RG35XX / Plus / H army !

Recently I was mindblown when I saw a Linux Desktop mainline environment called XFCE running on RG35KK Plus/H devices. I know these devices can be connected via HDMI to a small monitor of my liking. But I have a question (or questions).
Does the XFCE Linux Desktop running on the RG35XX Plus/H grant the ability to do ...
  1. Word processing/Powerpoint (handle some sort of opensource free lightweight office suite ?)
  2. Reading PDF files
  3. Checking and Managing Email
  4. Using a Web browser to watch YOUTUBE videos at a low res like at 480p with OK performance
  5. Using a Web browser to log in to and use Reddit and do general web browsing like Wikipedia/Reading
  6. Getting ok performance from Web browser while a MAX of 5 tabs open(youtube and reddit among the tabs)
  7. Watching offline mp4 videos and listen to mp3 files from an SD card
  8. Connecting a Webcam peripheral and conduct a Google Meets video chat call
  9. Using an online AI like ChatGPT or some sort sort of similar AI bot through the browser OR a desktop app to generate TEXT and TEXT REPLIES
  10. And finally ... playing classic PAC MAN within the desktop (native or emulator through the linux desktop UI)
*These aren't the heaviest computing tasks one can do. But this is all I do and this is all I NEED to do.
I'm asking in such detail because RG35XX Plus/H has ONLY 1GB of memory, so I'm sort of doubting it's ability and capabilities. So I want honest opinions of you RG35XX Plus/H boys and girls who have used the XFCE Linux Desktop on this device. So can these 10 tasks be run individually (NOT SIMULTANEOUSLY) without exploding (JK, I mean without causing massive lagging of) the device ? Also I'm not a big multi tasker , but if AT LEAST 2 of these 10 tasks can be done in the XFCE Linux Desktop environment simultaneously (at one given time) WITHOUT causing massive performance issues ... then I would really consider this handy little device as an extremely rudimentary and ultra portable throwaway desktop replacement for me. Do you think that this device in its XFCE desktop environment would be able to handle 2 of these listed 10 tasks simultaneously (at one given time) ?

2024.05.16 20:14 RepeatElectronic9988 Cookies and history deletion

Firefox v126.0 / W11
Hello everyone,
In Firefox settings, under Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data, I've checked the box Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed. Next to it, in the Manage Exceptions button, I've added several domain names corresponding to my email addresses, social networks that I use daily, etc.
With this setup, I would like all my web history to be cleared every time I close my web browser, except for a few sites where I need to regularly log in, so I don't have to go through the whole login process, etc.
But it's not working. When I close Firefox and reopen it, I still have access to my entire history, which is not deleted at all, and not just the small list of domain names I added to Exceptions.
What did I do wrong for my history not to be deleted at all even though this box is checked?

2024.05.16 20:11 LazyTech8315 New Chamberlain + Existing RATGDO + firmware question

New Chamberlain + Existing RATGDO + firmware question
I had a 23 year-old Chamberlain with Sec+ 1.0 and it worked well... until it started opening by itself. It opened without us day or night, a few times a week... and I had enough experimenting to try to isolate the issue. I figured a new opener would give us better integration with 2.0 anyhow.
https://preview.redd.it/0y2n5di9xt0d1.png?width=1356&format=png&auto=webp&s=10dc4de6331077f0ffbdc2b6e4e8703ab771e4dd
I installed a new Chamberlain GDO yesterday and programmed the RATGDO to use S+ 2.0. I have not and will not connect it to Wi-Fi, nor have I downloaded any of their apps. After wiring the RATGDO correctly, it worked flawlessly. I could turn the light on and off and open/close the door from Home Assistant, and see the status updates instantly for all sensors. The wall button worked as well, but was a little slow and sometimes needed a second press. The light button on the wall was a little more picky, but worked. I had the obstruction sensor wires laying on the garage floor overnight until I got to it today.
Today, I disconnected the wires and routed them up over the door and to the opener along the ceiling. I had a failure and traced it to an accidental staple through the wire. Ugh! I spliced the wire and it started working. All seemed good, but I can't recall how in-depth I tested everything at that point.
I then neatened the wires, zip-typing them and securing the RATGDO as well. At that point, I tried to open the door, and seeing that it worked, I stopped the open and tried to close it. It started to close then stopped and reversed. I checked for obstructions and it was clear. The sensor was green, not flashing green. I tried to close it again, and it reversed and opened. I stopped it and continued and eventually it was fully open and would not close.
I disconnected the red control wire from the GDO and the wall button and shorted them out, bypassing the RATGDO. Then the button on the GDO itself would close the door. I put the wires back into the RATGDO and it failed again. The wall button was blinking. So, I pressed it. Nothing. Pressed again, the door opened and closed in response to the button presses, as expected.
There was also a few minutes in here that I could not access the web interface of the RATGDO
At the moment, the RATGDO is doing a good job of passing the status to Home Assistant. However, it is not able to control the opener. If I press the open, close or stop button in HA, I see the MQTT command, but the RATGDO doesn't respond. However, if I send a light command, it responds with a status update that is false. At that point, if I manually turn the light on, it tells HA that the light turned off!!! It remains out of sync until I toggle it in HA, then the status update is in sync again. I'm confused! LOL
home/garage/GarageDoocommand/door open home/garage/GarageDoocommand/door open home/garage/GarageDoocommand/light on home/garage/GarageDoostatus/light on home/garage/GarageDoocommand/light off home/garage/GarageDoostatus/light off
The above is me sending commands from HA through mosquitto MQTT.
home/garage/GarageDoostatus/door opening home/garage/GarageDoostatus/light on home/garage/GarageDoostatus/door stopped home/garage/GarageDoostatus/door closing home/garage/GarageDoostatus/door closed
That was me opening, stopping and closing the door with the wall button. I thought maybe a firmware update would be good...
ratgdo v2.53 for hardware v2.50 - GarageDoor
The header in my web browser shows the above. When I click on the link to Github from the web interface, it takes me to the repo with version 2.1 from June 2023 available. Say, what?? Why do I have a newer firmware than was published?

2024.05.16 20:07 Sn3llius Rio: WebApps in pure Python. No JavaScript, HTML and CSS needed!

Hi everyone! We're excited to announce that our reactive web UI framework is now public. This project has been in the works for quite some time, and we're excited to share it with you. Feel free to check it out and share your feedback!
There is a short coding GIF on GitHub.

What My Project Does

Rio is a brand new GUI framework designed to let you create modern web apps with just a few lines of Python. Our goal is to simplify web and app development, allowing you to focus on what matters most instead of getting stuck on complicated user interface details.
We achieve this by adhering to the core principles of Python that we all know and love. Python is meant to be simple and concise, and Rio embodies this philosophy. There's no need to learn additional languages like HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, as all UI, logic, components, and even layout are managed entirely in Python. Moreover, there's no separation between front-end and back-end; Rio transparently handles all communication for you.

Target Audience

Rio is perfect for data scientists who want to create web apps without learning new languages. With Rio, it's easy to create interactive apps that let stakeholders explore results and give feedback, so you can stay focused on your data analysis and model development. Plus, Rio offers more flexibility than frameworks like Gradio or Streamlit, giving you greater control over your app's functionality and design.

Showcase

Rio doesn't just serve HTML templates like you might be used to from frameworks like Flask. In Rio you define components as simple dataclasses with a React/Flutter style build method. Rio continuously watches your attributes for changes and updates the UI as necessary.
class MyComponent(rio.Component): clicks: int = 0 def _on_press(self) -> None: self.clicks += 1 def build(self) -> rio.Component: return rio.Column( rio.Button('Click me', on_press=self._on_press), rio.Text(f'You clicked the button {self.clicks} time(s)'), ) app = rio.App(build=MyComponent) app.run_in_browser()
Notice how there is no need for any explicit HTTP requests. In fact there isn't even a distinction between frontend and backend. Rio handles all communication transparently for you. Unlike ancient libraries like tkinter, Rio ships with over 50 builtin components in Google's Material Design. Moreover the same exact codebase can be used for both local apps and websites.

Key Features

We welcome your thoughts and questions in the comments! If you like the project, please give it a star on GitHub to show your support and help us continue improving it.

— -
Introduction
Family Tree Maker 2019 (FTM 2019) offers a seamless integration with Ancestry.com, allowing users to sync their family trees and media files effortlessly. However, users may encounter occasional issues with media sync, where images, documents, or other media fail to synchronize properly between the software and the online Ancestry account. This guide aims to address common media sync issues and provide troubleshooting steps to resolve them.
Common Issues
  1. Media Not Syncing: Some users may find that media items added or edited in Family Tree Maker do not appear on their Ancestry online tree, or vice versa.
  2. Sync Errors: Users might encounter error messages during the syncing process, preventing media files from being properly uploaded or downloaded.
  3. Missing Media: Media files previously synced may suddenly disappear from either the Family Tree Maker software or the Ancestry online tree.
Troubleshooting Steps
  1. Check Internet Connection
Ensure that your computer has a stable internet connection. Media sync requires a reliable connection to transfer files between Family Tree Maker and Ancestry.com.
  1. Verify Ancestry Account Credentials
Make sure you are using the correct Ancestry account credentials in Family Tree Maker. Incorrect login information can lead to sync errors.
  1. Update Family Tree Maker

  1. Restart Family Tree Maker and Ancestry.com
Sometimes, simply restarting both Family Tree Maker and your web browser with Ancestry.com can resolve temporary sync issues.
  1. Check Media File Formats
Ensure that the media files you are trying to sync are supported formats. Common formats like JPG for images and PDF for documents are usually compatible.
  1. Resize Large Media Files
Large media files may encounter sync issues due to size limitations. Try resizing or compressing large images or documents before attempting to sync them.
  1. Clear Cache and Temporary Files
Clearing cache and temporary files in Family Tree Maker and your web browser can resolve syncing issues caused by corrupted or outdated data.
  1. Contact Support
If you’ve tried all the above steps and are still experiencing media sync issues, consider reaching out to Family Tree Maker support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or insights specific to your situation.
Conclusion
Troubleshooting media sync issues in Family Tree Maker 2019 can be a straightforward process by following the steps outlined above. By ensuring a stable internet connection, verifying account credentials, and performing basic troubleshooting steps, users can resolve most common problems encountered during the syncing process. 2024.05.16 18:28 inamestuff 100k rows should't make the UI laggy on a gaming PC

Today I decided to do a simple research project anyone can reproduce: make a list of 100,000 elements in your favourite UI library.
Why would I do something like this? We're all being told that modern UI libraries are "blazingly fast" and I really don't like this kind of marketing. Plus, I'm trying to find a suitable solution for developing cross platform applications, and I figured why not put them to the test?
Why such a big number? Well, I'm on the same PC that can run games with Ultra settings with millions of particles interacting with each other, so 100k shouldn't be that much, right...? right? (yeah, I know, GPU acceleration plays a big role here, but I still have 32GB and some 16 core at my disposal)
This post may sound like a rant, and it partially is, but it's also a way of contributing and maybe show some weaknesses that may be fixed in future releases of these libraries.
So, let's get to it:
Bonus: non-Rust libs
Feel free to share your own findings!
FAQ:
Conclusion:
IDK, just use web tech for any UI I guess? Or go straight to Bevy or Unity or Unreal Engine if you have 100k elements. These were not satisfying results :(

2024.05.16 18:25 RecentMatter3790 Do you guys only use arc search as your browser, or do you guys use multiple browsers or answer engines? Whatever may be the case, which search engines, or search engine, do you guys use on each browser, or on your browser of choice?(This post is only about iOS)

I currently use the arc search iOS browser as my default third-party browser, but I am torn between:
  1. Brave browser (multiple platforms)
  2. Arc search (multiple platforms)
  3. Perplexity.ai (iOS)
  4. DuckDuckGo browser (multiple platforms)
  5. Firefox focus (iOS/android)
  6. Firefox (multiple platforms)
(Arc search and Brave browser have the ability to integrate multiple search engines or something like quick search)
I want to only use 1 browser for everything, but arc search dominates on the ai-enabled search field, but perplexity.ai gives off “conversational” search. Both of these win me over in the searching experience, but perplexity.ai cannot be used much as a browser for navigating web pages, it’s more akin to chat gpt.
For nsfw, I cannot use ai-enabled browsers , or search engines, or answer engines, because they will not provide me nsfw content to be viewed and searched upon it. I can only view and search sfw content on the ai-enabled experiences. With Brave browser however, I can view nsfw from reddit, because it redirects its mobile website to the old version of the same website.
I would love if there were a browser that combines everything in one browser, and that has the ability to let me view nsfw.
