Hi all, I've been seeing a lot of people upset about the system requirements. While some people have stayed more up to date and won't have a problem, it's definitely clear that others are unsure if they can run the game.
I wanted to offer a possible solution for some. There are virtual pcs you can use. Usually these come with free trials or a relatively low fees to use. The caveat is having a decent enough internet connection to run the "gaming stream" basically. Something to look into before the game comes out as there are quite a few options out there. Hi! We're Banana Hammock, an old raiding guild looking for more to have a good time in raid. We're a midcore team, only raiding one night so while we mess around in comms we do have an expectation of performance in order to actually clear each tier. We do have an emphasis on having a good time and enjoying each night, whether we make a ton of progress or very little.
Raid Time: Fridays 8:30pm-11:30pm PST
Requirements: A good attitude and an understanding that while we mess around during raid, we also need to stay focused to prog enough each night to make it through each tier. This can also include extended lockouts, so doing M+ for gear is important.
Raid Expectations: Please have at least a boss mod running (Deadly Boss Mods/Bigwigs), Weakauras, personal buffs, and a little communication if unable to make a raid night.
Goals: AOTC and many of us aim for KSM as well. We want to enjoy a laidback raid environment and have fun with one another while working our way through heroic each tier. We will be balancing this due to our limited raid time, and while we aren't aiming for finishing at lightning pace we will be expecting each player to perform well.
Additional notes: One of our guild traditions is the encouragement of swapblasters during trash. We do joke around, but also can switch to be focused when downing a boss, We have a resident cursed dj that plays music or sometimes graces us with dating sims.

Hey all. I had a headcanon for Cassie's post-war life for a while, and decided to try making it into fanfiction. I'd appreciate feedback on this if you'd care to read it. This s a chapter-ish segment that I'd likely build on. There is spoilers for the series end.
Spoiler notes. I know this may feel like me dunking hard on Cassie, but I actually really like Cassie as a flawed character. I just feel like she got off easy at the series end, and this is my attempt at showing her confronting a post-war world that is even more harsh on her idealism than the war was.
My name is Cassie.
The war was over. We had won. While it came at a cost greater than I ever wanted to pay, victory was better than three years of thinking we were fighting a hopeless battle, questioning every decision I had ever made, committing acts of violence I wouldn’t have ever thought myself capable of before Elfangor had given us the power to morph, and the burden to use it to save humanity.
When the Yeerks surrendered, it was difficult to convince the Andalites to agree to their terms, to give us the Escafil devices to make the Yeerks nothlits. To have them assume the form of Earth animals permanently. But still, we did it, and I thought of all the possibilities that could lead to. Not only did we save humanity from infestation and enslavement, we found a way to give the Yeerks what they wanted, existence in bodies with senses, with freedom to live outside a liquid pool.
I thought there was so much potential. The Yeerks could help us save endangered animals! With thought speech in their new bodies, we could become partners in making Earth better for all species who live on it. The possibilities seemed endless.
I was naïve.
I always loved animals, even though I had learned the harsh reality that nature could sometimes be cruel – well, I thought I had, but even becoming dozens of different animals and losing myself to their instincts, I had only the tiniest inkling of how cruel nature really could be.
The Andalites helped the UN build three large Yeerk Pools. They said it was “for processing.” Some eggheads at some government think tank estimated it would be a ten year project to assign all the surrendered Yeerks their nothlit forms. It didn’t make sense to me – just ask them what they want to be, let them acquire an animal, and place them in a suitable habitat. It wasn’t easy, sure, but it was doable. Ten years for Yeerks who could only measure in the hundreds of thousands? A million at most?
I wasn’t good at math.
I was good with animals, however, and I was familiar with the Yeerks. I had missed out on some time in high school, I hadn’t even graduated, but in one of what seemed like a million interviews from the military and politicians and the press, I might have mentioned that I technically performed brain surgery on an alien species when I was a teenager. (Never mind that I had help from a Yeerk who could literally see inside said alien’s brain).
Ah, I miss Aftran. I hope she’s still okay, and singing her whale songs somewhere. And I hope someone hears them. I remember the day we set her free. She was the first, the first Yeerk we found a way out for, the first Yeerk who decided being one of Earth’s animals was better than being a parasite.
Every year on that day, I go to the beach, and swim out as far as I can, and morph a blue whale. I don't morph much anymore, unless there's a need for it , but on this day, I do. I morph into a whale, and I sing, and I hear songs back. I hear blue whales singing for mothers, for fathers. I hear them sing of dangers, of where the ocean is unkind. And I hear those who sing back, asking why we didn’t warn them the ocean was so unkind before we let them give themselves to it forever.
But I sing only for Aftran, and I do not hear Aftran sing back.
My only real medical training was stitching up wounds on injured raccoons and skunks. The bulk of my time caring for animals was forcing pills down their throats, and even more of that was just cleaning up their poop. But to everyone else, I was the girl who performed brain surgery on an alien, and I was an Animorph, and they thought I was some kind of genius with animals.
I guess I let that get to me, because I decided that I was good enough for it too.
The way they presented it to me, it was some kind of fast track to a degree – was it ecology? Zoology? Veterinary science? I don’t remember. My mom knew Dr. Navarro from her work at the Gardens. She assured me that she was an amazing scientist, and that becoming her protégé would lead to an amazing career for me. Mom said if I wanted a career working with animals, I couldn’t ask for a better start.
I don’t blame my mom for giving me that advice. She had her own naivete, and she loved me and wanted what’s best for me. My dad asked several times if I was sure if it’s what I wanted to do, if I was sure I didn’t want to finish high school, even if it would be late, and have a more typical college experience?
Typical?
My life over the past three years was nothing but typical. Doing something unusual felt…better. Like all I had been through meant something. Like the horrors I had lived with meant I got to be special.
I wish I listened to my dad.
I got to work with Dr. Novarrio immediately. The first month or so, I was more of a consultant. I’d be in a room with a small group of scientists or graduate students, and there would be propositions about a certain number or Yeerk nothlits taking a particular species, and how many over how large a region. My contributions were mostly giving input on how Yeerks might take to a particular species, how likely or unlikely it would be a Yeerk might accept that species if offered to them.
I morphed a Yeerk once. I still could, if I wanted to. I knew a Yeerk’s existence and instinct as well as anyone else – or so I thought. I only had experienced a Yeerk’s life for less than two hours, with a host who let me use their body. I hadn’t endured years in a pool with no sight and limited hearing. I hadn’t fought against an unwilling host.
The real reason I wasn’t qualified to speak for Yeerks? I said that all living creatures deserve dignity, deserve existence, and deserve freedom. Sure, I said all that out loud, but there was a part of me that still hated the Yeerks. I might have hated them more than Jake or even Rachel, I just kept that hatred twisted up inside, hidden by my ideals, and that’s why I accepted what happened to them.
The first compromise came in one of those meetings with Dr. Navarro and a random assortment of grad students. One of them had a proposal for using Yeerk nothlits to bolster the population of the giant anteater – Myrmecophaga tridactyla – it’s the biggest anteater living today, and they were very high on the endangered species list. Habitat loss due to rain forest converted to land for grazing cattle. I thought it could be a great idea for a trial run – most of the Yeerks were still in the pools the Andalites built – but this could be proof that the Yeerks could help us!
I thought that, until I looked over the map of where the giant anteater nothlits might be distributed.
“Wait,” I said. “The majority is going in Brazil, along the Amazon River, right?”
The grad student giving the proposal – I think his name was Chase – nodded. “What’s wrong with that? Ample food sources, their breeding population has been observed there. If we want to bolster their population two or three generations from now, the Yeerks best be used there.”
Used. The Yeerks would be “used.” I remember that now, but at the time I didn’t acknowledge what that word meant.
“Well,” I said. “It overlaps with the green anaconda’s natural range. Green anacondas eat giant anteaters, or at least they will if the anaconda is big enough. I thought that’s where we were sending the Taxxon nothlits? They only helped us defeat the Yeerks because we said they could become anacondas.”
The room was silent for a moment. I felt more eyes on me than I felt comfortable with. This was why they included me, wasn’t it? Because I had been through the war, and nobody else had. I knew things like this.
The quiet lingered for longer than I cared for it to.
“Cassandra,” Dr. Navarro said, after a moment. She always called me “Cassandra.” After our first meeting, I told her I preferred “Cassie,” but she said “Cassandra” sounded more “professional.”
“Cassandra, can we have a private conversation?” I nodded, not sure what was going on. Had I said something wrong? I only pointed out what I thought was an obvious flaw with the proposal.
Still, I followed Dr. Navarro into her office. She sat down, and offered me a bottled coffee drink. I said I didn’t want one.
After a moment, she spoke. “Cassandra, do you know the current estimated population of
Eunectes murinus?”
Green anacondas. That was their binomial name.”About…4.3 million?” I said. South and Central America were some of our targets for deploying the Yeerks, so I had spent a lot of time looking at the ecology in the rainforests since I had started working with Dr. Navarro.
“That’s exactly what current research suggests. How many Taxxons do you think were on Earth?”
I bit my lip. “I don’t know. Maybe ten thousand?”
“That was likely the number of Taxxons in the invasion force you dealt with,” Dr. Navarro said. “We now know the central invasion force was centered in your flashpoint, but there were others connected to the Pool Ship we seized. If there were a hundred thousand Taxxons, or five hundred thousand? Five hundred thousand isn’t even the population of Detroit, Cassandra. There could be Five hundred thousand Taxxons easily. Five hundred thousand new, fully grown adult green anacondas, even distributed equally along the Amazon river. Boosting their population by over ten percent.” She tapped the side of her head, at her temple. “What might happen with that sudden population boost?”
I didn’t need to think long about the answer. “The prey species would have an immediate decline,” I said. I hadn’t thought of that when we made our promise to the Taxxons.”
“Of course you didn’t,” Dr. Navarro said. “You were just a kid.”
I bit my lip and thought of that. “I just thought…they wanted to escape their hunger. An animal that can go months without eating felt like the best answer.”
Dr. Navarro looked at me. I think she was trying to look sympathetic, like she was pitying me, but I knew that look well. I had seen my parents give me that look when I was making an excuse for being out past dinner time because of an Animorph mission. It meant that she thought she knew more than I did, and knew what was best for me.
At the time, I thought she might be right.
“We should get back into session,” Dr. Navarro suggested.
“Just one thing,” I said. “If all the Taxxons on earth didn’t become anacondas…where are they now?”
Dr. Navarro put a hand on my shoulder. "Cassandra. I'm sure when you came up with this idea, you thought an animal that could go months without food would be the perfect body for a Taxxon, didn't you?"
I nodded.
"Do you know what an 'opportunistic eater' is, in ecological terms?" Dr. Navarro asked.
I thought about it for a moment. "I guess it's an animal that eats what's available, when it's available?"

I thought about that, a good, long time. It seemed so perfect a solution then. Easy. Logical. But everything I believed had been wrong.
