so iโ€™m feeling a bit like a dummy for this. any help would be greatly appreciated. i bought this off of ebay and the seller claimed they had gotten it from toys r us quite some time ago. it got delivered and i felt weird about the seal on it and i should have just trusted my gut before i ordered it. i looked at some of the posts in this subreddit and im pretty convinced itโ€™s not legit. so, what are the odds itโ€™s not a fake and iโ€™m just being paranoid? iโ€™m assuming probably pretty low. also if anyone has any advice for me going forward when purchasing games and ensuring that theyโ€™re legitimate, iโ€™d be really thankful!

I'll be blunt in this one. I see many coworkers and other co-programmers who are without a doubt great engineers, but their basic text editing/coding skills are absolute dogwater.
First and foremost: For the love of god, learn how to touch type. Yes it is painful to learn during the first few weeks but it is a 100% worth it. Stop making up excuses not to do it. No one who knows how to touch type would ever go back willingly. Not a single person.
Next: Learn your editor. If you're not using modal editing, then you're missing out on the most effective and efficient way to edit text/code. At least consider other editors, see what is out there and what the best programmers use. Use an LSP and learn what it actually does. Learn how it complements your editors autocomplete features. Use a fuzzy finder, one of the best inventions for editors of the last years. And again, I can hear your excuses not to take a look at these things from miles away. Stop it. These tools make your coding life faster, easier and smoother, no ifs no buts. Use them.
And finally: Learn your HDL. I see coworkers who have been in the business for decades and still don't know some basic concepts of the HDL we are using. Let alone what the standard libraries have to offer. Not even dreaming about third party libraries. Learn your simulator. Learn at least one simulation testing framework. Learn about CI/CD. Learn your OS and its tools (e.g. GNU tools). If your not using Linux, then again you are missing out on the most effective and efficient OS for virtually all types of development. Learn from open source, one of the best source of knowledge we have.
The reason why I am rather pissed about this is because when I started a few years back, there was no one there who taught me these things. I had to learn this the hard way. All of what I have mentioned are basic tools of modern text editing/coding, especially so for FPGA development. Stop wasting everyones time by not utilizing and teaching them.

Secondly, when I saw this headline I thought they were making a 'Fallout RPG'. RPG meaning of course, role-playing GAME. But no, this is not in fact the case. They are simply hosting a fan made mod...
The title is so clickbait and I hate it. I mean the rpg, and also releasing!? They aren't releasing it, they're hosting it. Unless I missed something and they've taken over from the dev team behind the mod?

Analysis
Unseasonal increases in demand for ocean freight out of Asia โ€“ due to the possible start of a restocking cycle in Europe, and a pull forward of peak season demand by N. American importers out of concern over labor or Red Sea disruptions later in the year โ€“ are putting additional strain on a container market already stretched thin by Red Sea diversions.
Even with fleet growth from new vessels being applied to add more ships to rotations and accommodate longer journeys around the south of Africa, carriers are still facing a capacity shortage. This shortage is leading to late arrivals and port omissions as carriers skip some port calls to try and keep up with weekly schedules at major hubs. Delays and omissions are contributing to reports of empty container shortages and congestion due to vessel bunching at some ports in China, with congestion also a problem in Singapore and Malaysia.
Increasing demand, tight capacity and delays are combining to push ocean rates up from their already elevated Red Sea-adjusted floors reached in April.
Weekly prices rose last week and continued to climb this week, with the latest daily rates on the transpacific up to about $4,800/FEU to the West Coast and $5,800/FEU to the East Coast, for about a 40% increase since the end of April. The latest Asia - N. Europe rates are up about 50% since April to almost $5,000/FEU with prices to the Mediterranean above $5,600/FEU and 3.5 times higher than in 2019.
Carrier announcements of additional rate increases set for June show they do not expect demand to ease or conditions to improve in the short term. CMA CGM is setting Asia - N. Europe rates at $6,000/FEU starting June 1st, and Hapag-Lloyd has announced anAsia - N. America Peak Season Surcharge of $600/FEU to start June that will climb to $2,000/FEU mid-month.
In other ocean developments, two months after its collision with the Key Bridge in Baltimore, crews refloated the Dali and removed it from the crash site. Fully restored access to the port is expected by the end of the month, with Maersk already accepting Baltimore bookings for June.
In Canada, a government review of which services must be excluded from a union strike will likely delay the planned rail worker strike for at least the next 60 days, though the sides are reportedly still no closer to a resolution.

Passive: Strong Arm
Every 10-6 seconds (goes down with higher hero level), the Saboteur acquires a brick, up to 3 bricks. While having a brick equipped, the Saboteur's attack range expands to 5 yards, and the Saboteur attacks by throwing the brick at a target, stunning them for 20 seconds (1 second for Heroes and Hero units).
Due to extended experimentation, the Saboteur cannot gain Physical Attack from items, emblems and skin effects.
Innate Skill: Adaptive Loadout
The Saboteur can change his loadout at the base. This ability has no cooldown.
Different loadouts affect the Saboteur's active skills.
Default loadout: Holy Hand Grenade, Proximity Cloud
Depending on the Saboteur's loadout, the positions of the skills may change.

Enemies within 1.2 yards of the proximity device will trigger the release of angelic dust, causing all of their attacks to miss and silencing them. This cloud of dust lasts 10 seconds. The debuff also affects allies.
After activation, proximity devices will be deactivated for 30 seconds before rearming. During this time, it will not respond to nearby enemies.

So, I have been trying to learn vulkan after dabbling with OpenGL. It works on Windows and I'm loving it, since the way of doing things is way more intuitive here than in OpenGL. But I am intending to leave windows for good, for various reasons and keep fedora as the single OS on my laptop. Actually, I haven't been using Windows for 6 years unless I needed MS office or wanted to play games, which I don't recently.
Coming to the point, has anyone managed to compile the vkgude.dev project on any Linux based distro? It builds flawlessly but fails in the last linking stage.

Did no changes whatsoever in the CMakeLists except changed gcc version since gcc-14 seemed to have some issues with fastgltf.
