2024.05.21 15:41 Linuxologue VFIO success: Linux host, Windows or MacOS guest with NVMe+Ethernet+GPU passthrough

After much work, I finally got a system running without issue (knock on wood) where I can pass a GPU, Ethernet device and NVMe disk to the guest. Obviously, the tricky part was to pass the GPU as everything else went pretty easily. All defvices are released to the host when the VM is not running it.
Hardware: - Z790 AORUS Elite AX - 14900K intel with integrated GPU - Radeon 6600 - I also have an NVidia card but it's not passed through
Host: - Linux Debian testing - Wayland (running on the Intel GPU) - Kernel 6.7.12 - None of the devices are managed through the vfio-pci driver, they are managed by the native NVMe/realtek/amdgpu drivers. Libvirt takes care of disconnecting the devices before the VM is started, and reconnects them after the VM shuts off. - I have set up internet through wireless and wired. Both are available to the host but one of them is disconnected when passed through to the guest. This is transparent as Linux will fall back on Wifi when the ethernet card is unbound.
I have two monitors and they are connected to the Intel GPU. I use the Intel GPU to drive the desktop (Plasma 5). The same monitors are also connected to the AMD GPU so I can switch from the host to the VM by switching monitor input. When no VM is running, everything runs from the Intel GPU, which means the dedicated graphic cards consume very very little (the AMDGPU driver reports 3W, the NVidia driver reports 7W), fans are not running and the computer temperature is below 40 degrees (Celsius)
I can use the AMD card on the host by using DRI_PRIME=pci-0000_0a_00_0 %command% for OpenGL applications. I can use the NVidia card by running __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia %command% . Vulkan, OpenCL and Cuda also see the card without setting any environment variable (there might be env variables to set the prefered device though)
WINDOWS:
MACOS:
MACOS GPU PASSTHROUGH:
This was quite a lot of trial and error. I made a lot of changes to make this work so I can't be sure everything in there is necessary, but here is how I finally got macOS to use the passed through GPU: - I have the GPU on host bus 0a:00.0 and pass it on address 00:0a.0 (notice bus 0 again, otherwise the card is not visible) - Audio is also captured from 0a:00.1 to 00:0a.1 - I dumped the vbios from the Windows guest, sent it to the host through ssh (kind of ironic) so I can pass it to the host - Debian uses apparmor and the KVM processes are quite shielded, so I moved the vbios to a directory that is allowlisted (/usshare/OVMF/) kind of dirty but works. - In the host BIOS, it seems I had to disable resizable BAR, above 4G decoding and above 4G MMIO. I am not 100% sure that was necessary, will reboot soon to test. - the Linux dumped vbios didn't work, I have no idea why. The vbios dumped from Linux didn't have the same size at all, so I am not sure what happened. - macOS device type is set to iMacPro1,1 - The QXL card needs to be deleted (and the spice viewer too) otherwise macOS is confused. macOS is very easily confused. - I had to disable some things in the config.plist: I removed all Brcm Kexts (fro broadcom devices) but added the Realtek kext instead, disabled the AGPMInjector. Added agdpmod=pikera in boot-args.
After a lot of issues, macOS finally showed up on the dedicated card.
AMDGPU FIX:
When passing through the AMD gpu to the guest, I ran into a multitude of issues: - the host Wayland crashes (kwin in my case) when the device is unbound. Seems to be a KWin bug (at least KWin5) since the crash did not happen under wayfire. That does not prevent the VM from running anyway, but kind of annoying as KWin takes all programs with it when it dies. - Since I have cables connected, kwin seems to want to use those screens which is silly, they are the same as the ones connected to the intel GPU - When reattaching the device to the host, I often had kernel errors ( https://www.reddit.com/NobaraProject/comments/10p2yr9/single_gpu_passthrough_not_returning_to_host/ ) which means the host needs to be rebooted (makes it very easy to find what's wrong with macOS passthrough...)
All of that can be fixed by forcing the AMD card to be bound to the vfio-pci driver at boot, which has several downsides: - The host cannot see the card - The host cannot put the card in D3cold mode - The host uses more power (and higher temperature) than the native amdgpu driver I did not want to do that as it'd increase power consumption.
I did find a fix for all of that though: - add export KWIN_DRM_DEVICES=/dev/dri/card0 in /etc/environment to force kwin to ignore the other cards (OpenGL, Vulkan and OpenCL still work, it's just KWin that is ignoring them). That fixes the kwin crash. - pass the following arguments on the command line: video=efifb:off video=DP-3:d video=DP-4:d (replace DP-x with whatever outputs are connected on the AMD card, use for p in /sys/class/drm/*/status; do con=${p%/status}; echo -n "${con#*/card?-}: "; cat $p; done to discover them) - ensure everything is applied by updating the initrd/initramfs and grub or systemd-boot. - The kernel gives new errors: [ 524.030841] [drm:drm_helper_probe_single_connector_modes [drm_kms_helper]] *ERROR* No EDID found on connector: DP-3. but that does not sound alarming at all.
After rebooting, make sure the AMD gpu is absolutely not used by running lsmod grep amdgpu . Also, sensors is showing me the power consumption is 3W and the temperature is very low. Boot a guest, shut it down, and the AMD gpu should be safely returned to the host.
WHAT DOES NOT WORK: due to the KWin crash and the AMDGPU crash, it's unfortunately not possible to use a screen on the host then pass that screen to the guest (Wayland/Kwin is ALMOST able to do that). In case you have dual monitors, it'd be really cool to have the right screen connected to the host then passed to the guest through the AMDGPU. But nope. It seems very important that all outputs of the GPU are disabled on the host.

2024.05.21 14:50 Zoliv13 [H] Bundle games from Humble/Fanatical/IG [W] Wishlist/Offers (Update 21/05/2024)

Hello,
I'd like some fair exchange for those, i'm willing to put more than one game against a game i really want, depends on the offer. I could accept Paypal, but that's not my goal (just getting games i'd like to play). I might want to keep something in those lists, i also have some other Humble and Fanatical games i'm not sure i'll play, so they might appear one day (could be money for an exchange if you have something from my wishlist, don't hesitate to ask). I'm from Europe, that might matter for Keys or gift links. Also, i have many games now, and a lot to do yet, so i might be very picky, even for games on my wishlist (it's more a list for interesting games, that i might want in an undetermined future if i have time).
(HB Unrevealed Key = i have it still unrevealed, but will provide a key, considering the Humble view on trading games)
For people living in France, i also have some old games in boxes that i can send by post, ask me if interested.

THE HARMONY OF ENERGY
Abstract
Introducing the "Harmony of Energy" (HoE) model, a novel formalism that posits the universe operates according to a fundamental pattern. This pattern consists of energy, defined as the smallest unit anything can be, existing as a fluid form in space, interacting with its environment through a specific method or structure, and then moving out of that space. Space, in turn, is the dynamic environment that energy occupies and moves through, filling it with positive and negative energy that affects its properties and behavior. According to the HoE model, energy moves into space, reacts to its environment, and then moves out of that space, with no time limit for how long it takes to react. This pattern is universal, applying to all aspects of the universe, and nothing escapes it.
The Origin of the Universe
The HoE model posits that the universe began as a singular entity, containing all forms of energy as one unified energy. This singularity can be represented mathematically as: U = ∫∫∫E(x,y,z)dxdydz, where U is the total energy of the universe, E is the energy density, and x, y, z are the spatial coordinates.
As the singularity expanded, the unified energy converted into distinct positive and negative energies. Positive energy is a high-frequency, high-information-potential state that retains its unique signature and individual form, capable of producing heat and maintaining its distinct properties. Negative energy is a low-frequency, low-information-potential state that loses its unique signature and individual form, characterized by a pulling force and a tendency to condense and simplify.
Initially, the universe moved in a straight line, with energy compact and cold. However, this linear movement resulted in a direct head-on collision with the void, a solid structure that hindered its passage.
This collision led to a limitation and subsequent conversion of energy, transforming it from a linear motion to a wave-like motion. The new wave motion created heat and allowed energy to break the pattern of "follow the leader" and collide with the void at an angle, shattering its edge into pieces.
This process of fragmentation can be described by the equation: F(θ) = Σ[nEn * sin(nθ)], where F is the fragmentation function, θ is the angle of collision, n is an integer, and E is the energy density. For reasons yet unknown, possibly due to the singularity's energy reaching its final place or a transformation driven by cosmic "boredom," this conversion occurred, giving rise to the diverse universe we observe today.
The Void and the Ultimate Negative
Outside of the expanding universe lies the void, a region devoid of energy and matter, existing in a state of complete stillness and stationarity. This void represents the ultimate negative, a state of complete absence and zero energy density, unchanging and unyielding. As a whole, it exerts a compressive force on the expanding universe, potentially leading to contraction and eventual return to the singularity. This dynamic interplay between the universe and the void can be described by the equation: F = -G * (M * m) / r2 where F represents the force, G represents the gravitational constant, M and m represent the masses, and r represents the distance between them. The void's stationary and unchanging nature, lacking any internal rotation or energy, makes it inhospitable to life as we know it.
Magnetism and Attraction: A Shift in Perspective
Initially, I viewed magnetism through the conventional lens, seeing it as a fundamental force of attraction between positive and negative entities. However, as my understanding evolved, I came to realize that magnetism operates under a different principle. Positive and negative entities are not attracted to each other; instead, they represent the intrinsic structure of things. The true nature of attraction is frequency-based, with entities drawn to higher vibrations and shorter wavelengths. This phenomenon can be described by the following equations:
F = ∫∫(μ₁⋅μ₂)/(4πr2) dt dt (1)
where F is the force of attraction, μ₁ and μ₂ are the magnetic moments of the entities, r is the distance between them, and the integral is taken over time.
Additionally, the frequency-based attraction can be represented by:
f = γB (2)
where f is the frequency, γ is the gyromagnetic ratio, and B is the magnetic field strength.
Furthermore, the smaller wave's faster movement can be expressed as:
v = λf (3)
where v is the velocity, λ is the wavelength, and f is the frequency.
Energy and its Properties
Energy is the fundamental unit of everything. Energy can be thought of as an individual entity with an electrical signature vibrating at a specific frequency, carrying information from its originating source. If we were to dissect a piece of energy, we would find its genetic makeup consists of various parts, similar to binary code. One constant aspect of energy in our universe is the signature of this universe, which is present in all forms of energy, whether positive or negative. This underlying frequency distinguishes energy from our universe versus parallel universes.
Positive Energy (PE): - Oscillates through space with a frequency (f) and wavelength (λ): PE = f × λ - Exhibits wave-like behavior: PE(x,t) = A × sin(kx - ωt)
Negative Energy (NE): - Vibrates at a slower frequency (f'/2): NE = (f'/2) × λ' - Exhibits a slower, more stable behavior: NE(x,t) = B × cos(k'x - ω't)
Energy Interactions and Signature Changes
When positive and negative energies interact, their unique signatures can become altered. As energies combine, their signatures merge, releasing redundant information about the universe signature and creating an opening for new information to be stored. This process enables efficient storage and transmission of energy signatures, allowing for:
This process could be crucial for understanding how energy signatures evolve and adapt, and how they influence the behavior and properties of energy in various contexts.
The Formation and Evolution of the Universe
Initial Energy Interactions
In the beginning, a vast amount of fluid energy quickly interacted with the largest newly created pieces of the void, described by the wave-particle duality equation (E = hf = ℏω).
Star Formation and Signatures
As these interactions occurred, the largest of the solid structures of the universe began to form, stars, governed by the Lane-Emden equation (d2P/dr2 + (2/r)(dP/dr) + (4πG/c2)P = 0). Each new star held with it an old habit divulged from the singularity, a universal frequency (f = 1/T = ω/2π, where T is the period of oscillation and ω is the angular frequency). Old habits die hard, so each new star offered its own diverse and unique signature (S = Σf = ∫ψ(x)2 dx, where ψ(x) is the wave function and x represents the position).
Energy Collisions and Prime Numbers
As structures formed, a group of energy travels through space with an even number of internal parts (E = 2nℏ, where n is an integer and ℏ is the reduced Planck constant). This group collides with another group of energy with an odd amount of internal parts (E = (2n + 1)ℏ), and the total sum of the newly combined group equals a prime number (P = E1 + E2 = 2nℏ + (2m + 1)ℏ, where m is an integer). New Equation: Prime Number Formation (P = E1 + E2 = 2nℏ + (2m + 1)ℏ)
Schrödinger Equation and Physical Reality
The prime number is crucial, as the extra piece gets stuck in the space it is occupying, acting as an anchor, attracting other parts to breach their negative shell and combine as one, described by the Schrödinger equation (iℏ(∂ψ/∂t) = Hψ). This converts the fluid energy to be contained into the space it is in, which is broken pieces of the void that do not have a universal size, and gives us physical reality, forming particles with diverse unique signatures (S = Σf = ∫ψ(x)2 dx).
Refining Space and Transferring Signatures
As energy continued to interact with space, it further refined and shaped that space into a sphere (V = (4/3)πr3, where r is the radius), adding the discarded portions of size to the diverse field that is the universe. During this refinement, energy was transferred to these pieces, and the signature of the star was embedded in them, forming the galaxy clusters and solar systems we know today.
Smooth Surfaces and Celestial Bodies
As any piece of something breaks, its edges are rigid, and the interaction of energy against this rigid surface knocks off the rough edges, providing a smooth surface (E = Δx/Δt = ℏ/Δx, where Δx is the change in position and Δt is the change in time). New Equation: Smooth Surface Formation (E = Δx/Δt = ℏ/Δx)
The pieces that were knocked off still contain a portion of energy that put in the work to knock it off, and this process contributed to the formation of celestial bodies and the transfer of signatures. This, in turn, led to the creation of galaxies, planets, and other celestial bodies, each with their unique characteristics and properties, shaping the diverse and complex universe we observe today.
The Cartwheel Structure and Energy Movement
The cartwheel structure represents the dynamic movement of energy in the universe, with its rotating wheel and radiating arms symbolizing the harmonious interaction of positive and negative energies. When creation occurred, energy learned how to pass through stationary space (the void) by changing its movement pattern from a straight line to a wave (λ = v/f, where λ is wavelength, v is velocity, and f is frequency). This new wave movement allowed energy to create heat (Q = mcΔT, where Q is heat, m is mass, c is specific heat capacity, and ΔT is temperature change), which was the tool that gave energy the ability to "shatter" the void and interact with the broken pieces to perform a new movement, the cartwheel. As energy moves through space, it rarefies and decreases in temperature (T = k-B, where T is temperature, k is Boltzmann's constant, and B is the energy density), causing it to slow down and change frequency (f = ΔE/h, where f is frequency, ΔE is the energy change, and h is Planck's constant).
The Block and Cartwheeling Bar Analogy
The block and cartwheeling bar analogy provides a conceptual framework for understanding the dynamic interaction of energy in the universe. Imagine a box (representing space) containing blocks of varying sizes, each symbolizing a specific energy frequency (f = 1/T, where f is frequency and T is time). The cartwheeling bar, rotating within the box, represents the harmonious movement of energy between its positive (E+) and negative (E-) forms. Each block must be 100% filled, with positive and negative energy proportions varying as the bar rotates. For example, when positive energy occupies 99% of a block and negative energy occupies 1%, the rotation of the bar causes a gradual shift, resulting in a change to 98% positive and 2% negative, and so on. This constant interaction and adjustment maintain the balance of energy in the universe.
Fundamental Forces Explained
Present State of the Universe
The universe currently exists in a state of dynamic equilibrium, with observable patterns and structures perpetually renewing themselves through the interactions of energy (E = hf, where E is energy and h is Planck's constant). This self-sustaining cycle is evident in the formation and evolution of celestial bodies, galaxies, and other cosmic entities, governed by the laws of thermodynamics (ΔE = Q - W, where ΔE is the change in energy, Q is the heat added, and W is the work done). The universe's present state is characterized by the harmonious coexistence of diverse energy frequencies (f = 1/T, where f is frequency and T is time), which govern the behavior and properties of matter at various scales. This balance is maintained through the continuous conversion of energy between its positive (E+) and negative (E-) forms, allowing the universe to adapt and evolve in response to internal and external influences (E+ + E- = 0, representing the conservation of energy)."
Entropy and the Conversion of Positive to Negative
The physical dimensions of positive and negative energy in a block are equal, with 1% negative energy occupying the same space as 99% positive energy. This equality stems from the different speeds of energy and their individual properties. When negative energy is at 1%, it has condensed the equivalent of 99% positive energy into a single, compact form (E = hf, where E is energy, h is Planck's constant, and f is frequency). As the proportions shift, such as 60% positive and 40% negative, the space occupied remains a 50/50 split. This is because positive energy travels at the speed of light (c = λν, where c is the speed of light, λ is wavelength, and ν is frequency), while negative energy moves at a pace relative to terminal velocity (v = √(2gl), where v is velocity, g is acceleration due to gravity, and l is length). Each form dominates at the 50% mark (T = λ/v, where T is time, λ is wavelength, and v is velocity). The percentages represent available positive energy, while the cartwheel symbolizes space or the ultimate negative in motion, influenced by energy's presence. Negative energy, with its depleted charge, occupies space that needs to be filled and recycled into a positive state. At higher percentages, collisions with negative energy slow down the flow, similar to the concept of crab mentality, where negative energy draws down the percentages.
Energy Dynamics and Galactic Harmony
The 50% Threshold
The 50% mark is a critical threshold that distinguishes between positive and negative energy. Above 50%, energy is considered positive and can produce heat beyond its negative shell. Below 50%, energy is considered negative and cannot produce heat past this shell.
Compressed Positive Energy
When the percentage of positive energy drops below 50%, it becomes compressed and can exceed the speed of light (c = λν, where c is the speed of light, λ is wavelength, and ν is frequency). This allows it to navigate through the "cracks" of negative energy:
v > c (where v is velocity and c is the speed of light)
Quantum Mirroring
Alternatively, the positive energy can align with the negative energy, resulting in a quantum mirroring effect. This enables instantaneous information transfer between entangled particles, regardless of distance:
E = hf (where E is energy, h is Planck's constant, and f is frequency)
Retaining Frequency Signatures
In this alignment, the negative energy retains its unique frequency signature to avoid interacting with other signatures:
Δx * Δp >= h/4π (where Δx is position uncertainty, Δp is momentum uncertainty, and h is Planck's constant)
The Cavendish Experiment and Energy Interaction
The Cavendish experiment, a groundbreaking study on gravity, offers an intriguing analogy for understanding energy interaction with space. Imagine the suspended spheres as representative of space itself, devoid of energy. When energy interacts with this motionless space, it's as if the spheres begin to rotate, symbolizing the introduction of energy into the internal area of space.
As energy engages with space, it's gradually consumed, much like the reduction of energy in the Cavendish experiment. This process can be described by the equation:
G = (2πLθ) / (MT)
Where G is the gravitational constant, L is the length of the torsion wire, θ is the twist angle of the wire, M is the mass of the lead spheres, and T is the time period of oscillation.
This equation, derived from the Cavendish experiment, reveals the intricate relationship between energy, space, and gravity. By exploring this analogy, we can deepen our understanding of how energy shapes the very fabric of our universe.
Energy Absorption and Frequency
Energy absorption occurs when energy slows down, allowing it to be perceived and observed. This process involves energy being absorbed by an atom and reflecting what was not absorbed. As energy slows down, it can still be observed as a wave, but just before it becomes a particle. This phenomenon is fascinating, as it reveals the transition from wave-like to particle-like behavior.
The conversion of positive to negative states is due to positives' ability to produce heat and maintain an individual form. Negative energy, on the other hand, does not produce heat and lacks an individual form, instead traveling at a pace relative to terminal velocity. This process can be described by the quantum mechanical formula: ℏω = ΔE = hf, where ℏ is the reduced Planck constant, ω is the angular frequency, ΔE is the change in energy, h is Planck's constant, and f is the frequency of the energy.
Furthermore, the frequency of the energy can be related to the velocity of the particle using the formula: f = (1/2π) * √(k/m), where k is the spring constant and m is the mass of the particle. Additionally, the energy absorption rate can be calculated using the formula: dE/dt = (2π/h) * V_uv2 * δ(E_u - E_v), where V_uv is the transition matrix element, E_u and E_v are the energies of the initial and final states, and δ is the Dirac delta function.
The Conversion of Positive to Negative States and Planetary Motion
The conversion of positive to negative energy states is rooted in their distinct properties. Positive energy produces heat and maintains an individual form, whereas negative energy lacks heat and an individual form, instead traveling at a pace relative to terminal velocity. This process is reversible, as seen in fusion reactions, or can be influenced by external forces like microwave ovens.
In the context of our solar system, the sun's positive energy release generates heat and propels planets into their orbital tracks. Conversely, the incoming energy from the universe, considered negative, is cold and stabilizes planets in their tracks. Initially, I focused solely on the positive push dictating orbital paths. However, I now recognize the significant influence of negative energy and use it as the basis for understanding abnormal tracks.
Here's an added equation to illustrate the relationship between energy and orbital motion:
F = G * (m1 * m2) / r2
Where F is the force of gravity, G is the gravitational constant, m1 and m2 are the masses of the objects, and r is the distance between them.
This equation shows how the force of gravity (F) is influenced by the masses (m1 and m2) and distance (r) between objects, which is relevant to understanding planetary motion and the balance between positive and negative energy.
Gravitation and Time: Frequency's Role
Time is intimately tied to the frequency of the universe, and this relationship is governed by the laws of gravitation. Imagine the cartwheel's bar having notches, each representing a different frequency. Each notch would experience time at a unique pace, described by the formula:
t = 1/f
Where t is time and f is frequency.
If we could halt the cartwheel's motion, time would appear to pause, as described by the relativistic time dilation formula:
t' = γ(t)
Where t' is the time experienced by an observer in motion, t is the time experienced by an observer at rest, and γ is the Lorentz factor.
The passage of time is directly governed by the oscillations in the wave, or simply its frequency. By altering the frequency, we can change the flow of time itself, as described by the gravitational redshift formula:
f' = f * √(1 - 2GM/rc2)
Where f' is the observed frequency, f is the emitted frequency, G is the gravitational constant, M is the mass of the gravitational source, r is the radial distance from the source, and c is the speed of light.
Gravity and Energy Dynamics
Gravity can be understood in various ways through these thoughts. One perspective is that gravity operates similarly to the orbital planets, but with a twist. Instead of orbiting in space, we orbit at a subterranean frequency. This frequency attracts similar energies, leading to bonding and the formation of matter. For instance, atoms bond to form rocks, and separate rocks may bind together due to similar vibrations. However, other frequencies simply pass through, unable to bind due to differences in energy vibrations and the negative fields surrounding our bodies and the ground.
Our bodies are attracted to the Earth's core, with a force described by the equation:
F = G * (m1 * m2) / r2
Where F is the force of attraction, G is the gravitational constant, m1 and m2 are the masses of our bodies and the Earth, and r is the distance between them.
The vibrations of our energy and the negative field surrounding us can be described by the wave equation:
2E = μ * ∂2E/∂t2
Where E is the energy field, μ is the permeability of the medium, and ∂2E/∂t2 is the second derivative of the energy with respect to time.
The incoming cosmic energy pushes us downward, with a force described by the equation:
F = (E * A) / c
Where F is the force of the incoming energy, E is the energy density of the cosmos, A is the cross-sectional area of our bodies, and c is the speed of light.
The outgoing energy from Earth moves faster than the incoming energy from the cosmos, as observed in the formation of clouds with flat bases and more sporadic tops. This can be described by the equation:
v_out = v_in * (1 + (E_out / E_in))
Where v_out is the velocity of the outgoing energy, v_in is the velocity of the incoming energy, E_out is the energy density of the outgoing energy, and E_in is the energy density of the incoming energy.
Galactic Cycles and Black Holes
The Milky Way galaxy has a supermassive black hole at its center, with a mass described by the equation:
M = (1.989 x 1030) * (G / c2)
Where M is the mass of the black hole, G is the gravitational constant, and c is the speed of light.
As the galaxy spirals towards the center, enough mass will be collected to trigger the black hole to become a large star, described by the equation:
M = (4.383 x 1030) * (G / c2)
Where M is the mass of the star, G is the gravitational constant, and c is the speed of light.
When this happens, the black hole will shed its outer shell to create the galaxy that spirals around it, and the process begins again. This cycle can be described by the equation:
t = (2 * π * G * M) / c3
Where t is the time period of the cycle, G is the gravitational constant, M is the mass of the black hole or star, and c is the speed of light.
The opposite of a black hole is a white hole, but why hasn't this phenomenon been observed? According to this article, it has been observed but misunderstood. With the theme of balancing the universe, would a large star be surrounded by much smaller black holes? Would these smaller black holes feed the larger star by way of quantum bridge or wormhole, and vice versa for smaller stars and larger black holes? This can be described by the equation:
E = (ℏ * ω) / 2
Where E is the energy transferred between the star and black holes, ℏ is the reduced Planck constant, and ω is the frequency of the quantum bridge or wormhole.
Energy Flow and Balance
Energy moves in and out of everything, maintaining a delicate balance. It enters as a positive force and exits as a negative force. Our sun emits energy at 99% strength and high frequency, which combines with an equally sized negative force at 1% strength, filling the space completely. This balance is crucial, as positive energy moves faster than negative energy due to entropy's diminishing effects over time and distance.
As positive energy travels, it loses a piece of itself, converting to negative energy. This process is directly related to gravitational forces and time dilation. When positive energy reaches 50%, it has a certain probability of converting to negative energy, which is then attracted back to a positive source with a corresponding probability of being converted back to positive energy.
This cycle of energy flow and balance is the foundation of the universe's harmony, and understanding it can reveal the intricate web of forces that shape our reality.
Information Transmission through Energy and Light
Energy transfer is not just a physical phenomenon but also an exchange of information. Positive energy (Pos) carries a complete signature of universal information, updated through interactions, and represents the pure form. Negative energy (Neg) represents a degraded form of this signature, still carrying the universal signature, but lacking the capacity to transfer information.
Initial Information and Illumination
Initial information travels at a speed potentially faster than light and is invisible to us. As this energy slows down, it interacts with atoms, exciting them to display colors they don't need. This illumination is a manifestation of the information being transmitted.
I = E × S (Initial information is transmitted through energy and carries the universal signature)
Cosmic Scale and Consciousness
The universal information, carried by positive energy, is infused with the celestial signature, shaping the cosmic context. This process potentially gives rise to consciousness in living beings, linking them to the universe and its harmonies.
C ∝ U (Consciousness potentially arises from the universal information carried by positive energy)
U = S × f × P (The universal information is infused with the celestial signature, shaping the cosmic context)
Information Transfer and Energy Forms
The universe relies on a delicate balance of energy forms to facilitate information transfer. Positive energy (Pos) serves as the primary carrier of information, transmitting universal signatures and cosmic context. Negative energy (Neg), on the other hand, carries a degraded or attenuated version of the universal signature, lacking the capacity for information transfer. However, Neg can be transformed back into Pos, restoring its information-carrying ability.
P = S × f (Positive energy carries the complete universal signature at a high frequency f)
N = S × (1 - f) (Negative energy carries a degraded or attenuated version of the universal signature at a lower frequency)
E = P + N (The universe relies on a delicate balance of positive and negative energy forms to facilitate information transfer)
Frequency and Speed of Information Transfer
The frequency and speed of information transfer play a crucial role in the harmony and balance of the universe. Positive energy (Pos) transmits information at a high frequency and speed, allowing for efficient and accurate transfer of universal signatures and cosmic context. Negative energy (Neg), on the other hand, transmits information at a lower frequency and speed, resulting in a degraded or attenuated signal.
v ∝ f (The speed of information transfer is directly proportional to the frequency of the energy form)
P: v = c × f (Positive energy transmits information at a high frequency and speed, potentially approaching the speed of light c)
N: v = c × (1 - f) (Negative energy transmits information at a lower frequency and speed)
Transformation and Balance
Negative energy can be transformed back into positive energy, restoring its information-carrying ability.
N + T → P (Negative energy can be transformed back into positive energy, restoring its information-carrying ability)
This transformation maintains the harmony and balance of the universe, ensuring that information is not lost but rather recycled and rebalanced.

The Gallion's chief engineer Uma Ozakka has always been fascinated with the past, especially the tale of the Fortunate Five, who ended the war with the Felen. When the Gallion rescues a run-down junk freighter, Ozakka is shocked to recognize the Five's legendary ship—and the Five's famed leader, Eldric Leesongronski, among the crew. But nothing else about Leesongronski and his crewmates seems to match up with the historical record. With their ships running out of power in the rift, more than the lives of both crews may be at stake.

2024.05.21 09:13 HexivaSihess What is the rippling presence?

Or, to put it more specifically, is the presence rippling in the sky throughout Authority and Acceptance actually the biologist?
I think we glimpse this presence for the first time in Authority, ignored in the background of Lowry's expedition footage. But we clearly see it in Acceptance:
Across the deepening blue, high up, something drifted that resembled ripped and tattered streamers. Long and wide and alien. Its progress so far up, so far away … Control thought of an invisible shredded plastic bag, eviscerated to elongate and drift through the sky … except it was thicker than that and part of the sky, too. The texture of it, the way it existed and didn’t exist, made him recoil, made his hand twitch, become numb, skin cold, remembering a wall that was not a wall. A wall that had been breathing under his touch.
[...]
Stitching through the sky, in a terrifying way—rippling, diving, rising again, and there came a terrible whispering that pierced not his ears but all of him, as if small particles of something physical had shot through him. He cursed, frozen there, watching, afraid. “The wavery lines that are there and not there.” A line from Whitby’s report he hadn’t shared because he hadn’t understood it. Images from the video of the first expedition coming back to him.
And then, when we finally encounter what the biologist has become, I initially thought this was the same creature, even though the latter isn't described in the sky. For comparison:
The sonorous sound now rising. The distant sense of weight and movement and bulk and substance and intent, and something in Ghost Bird’s mind linked to it, and no way to undo that.
[...]
Ghost Bird saw it from the landing window. How the biologist coalesced out of the night, her body flickering and stitching its way into existence, in the midst of a shimmering wave that imposed itself on the reality of forested hillside. The vast bulk seething down the hill through the forest with a crack and splinter as trees fell to that gliding yet ponderous and muffled darkness, reduced to kindling by the muscle behind the emerald luminescence that glinted through the black. The smell that presaged the biologist: thick brine and oil and some sharp, crushed herb. The sound that it made: as if the wind and sea had been smashed together and in the aftershock there reverberated that same sonorous moan.
I think it's the particular descriptor "stitching" that makes me think that, plus the fact that the first paragraph ("the distant sense of weight and movement . . .") that introduces the biologist reads like something coming back.
So: are these three all the same creature, with the biologist, now freed from the chains of location and time, manifesting in an earlier time to haunt Lowry?

🔗Unger StarDuster Cobweb Duster: Effective and Convenient for Washing Crevices

https://preview.redd.it/d8jscdru1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a255f92488263d7d407e488537fbc286ad2af66
I recently tried the Unger StarDuster Cobweb Duster, a handy tool for removing those pesky cobwebs from corners and crevices. The duster's unique cone shape was a game-changer, as it easily reached tight areas that other dusters couldn't access. I also appreciated the soft, split-tip bristles, which didn't leave any marks or damage on the surfaces I cleaned.
Admittedly, I found the duster to be a bit heavy to maneuver, especially since it's meant to be used with Unger telescopic poles (sold separately). But overall, I thought it was a solid choice if you're looking for a tool specifically designed for tackling those hard-to-reach spots. Just make sure to handle it carefully and follow the product guidelines to avoid any mishaps.

🔗Indoor & Outdoor 10ft Lightweight Cobweb Duster Extension Pole

https://preview.redd.it/dq7v7t0v1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12f28792cfeb554b30401b834bf1ffed31b63cc3
My experience with the Cobweb Duster Pole has been rather satisfactory, considering it's primarily designed to help with dusting and pest control in hard-to-reach areas. It's an easy-to-use and lightweight 10-foot extension pole, perfect for those who need a little extra length for their cleaning tools.
What stood out positively in my experience was the durability and ease of use. The pole is sturdy enough to withstand constant use, which I found to be incredibly handy. Also, the fact that it's an extender pole for a Webster Nylon Cobweb Duster or scrapper attachment makes it easy to transition between different tasks.
However, there were a couple of cons to consider. For starters, some users have reported issues with compatibility as it doesn't fit certain end adaptors for sprayers. In my case, it didn't work with the one I had, but I found a workaround fairly easily. Additionally, although the pole is of high quality, it's quite simple in terms of design, which might be a drawback for those looking for fancier or more feature-packed equipment.
Overall, the Cobweb Duster Pole does what it's designed to do - make cleaning dusty and hard-to-reach spots a breeze. But it's essential to note that its design limitations might not cater to everyone's requirements.

🔗Versatile Cobweb Duster for Daily Cleaning

https://preview.redd.it/g6th504w1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1bdbd354a1a3af6380252b3a533b87e709bcef3b
I've been using the Hicavar screw-on cobweb duster replacement head for my cleaning needs, and it's been a game-changer. The 10-inch length is perfect for cleaning those hard-to-reach areas. This versatile tool can be used handheld or attached to a telescopic pole for cleaning high ceilings without the need for a ladder. Plus, its soft poly fibers won't scratch walls or windows.
What stood out to me was the ease of installation and the versatility of this duster head. It's really easy to clean and reuse multiple times, and the simple twist-on mechanism makes it a breeze to attach it to an extension pole. It's great for cleaning furniture, window sills, blinds, and much more.
One of the best things about this duster is its durability and effectiveness. After using it for a while, it still works like new, and the materials are high-quality, making it the perfect addition to any cleaning arsenal. It's safe to use on all surfaces and really does make the cleaning process easier.
While I've had a fantastic experience with this cobweb duster, I did notice that it can be a bit stiff to use, especially at first. However, this problem is easily solved with a little bit of wrist action during use. Overall, the Hicavar screw-on cobweb duster replacement head is a top-notch tool for cleaning hard-to-reach areas and is definitely worth the investment.

🔗Telescopic Swish Microfiber Feather Duster for Cobweb Cleaning

https://preview.redd.it/zh6dq4bw1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=20161f2ea70f3087ddfde434827f7b4e67dab0c9
I recently tried the Gütewerk extendable feather duster, and let me tell you, it has made my life a whole lot easier! This bad boy can reach up to 140 cm, which is perfect for cleaning those hard-to-reach spots. It's like the Swiss Army knife of dusters! The telescopic retractable pole handle is a game-changer - I can easily adjust its length for different areas of my home. And the 360-degree flexible head, made of dense microfibers, is just the cherry on top. It catches dust and dirt like a charm without causing a mess. Plus, the non-slip handle and the removable cleaning brush make this duster a true gem.
But, as with any product, there's a little room for improvement. While the feather duster is lightweight and easy to use, it does take a bit of effort to clean. Hand-washing is the way to go, but who has time for that, right? Overall, I'd say this feather duster is a winner in my book. It's like having a personal assistant in dust-busting.

🔗Microfiber Dusters Set for Cobweb Cleaning

https://preview.redd.it/4ff7a9qw1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75e7f640a509ef1fe5b356c0a28cb23701510f2b
I've used these durable microfiber dusters recently and can tell you they're a breeze to use. These 5-pack cobweb dusters come with 2 handle sets, making them perfect for reaching those hard-to-get places. The handles are extendable and bendable, allowing me to clean high ceilings and hard-to-reach areas with ease.
The microfiber head is super soft and environmentally friendly, making it gentle on surfaces while effectively cleaning those pesky cobwebs. I also appreciate that the product is washable, so it's always ready for the next cleaning spree.
Using these dusters, I've noticed an improvement in the overall cleanliness of my home. They're easy to grip and use, and the 3 feather dusters offer exceptional durability. When not in use, they can be disassembled and stored neatly, taking up minimal space.
Of course, there are a few drawbacks. The instructions state that these dusters can only be hand-washed, which might be inconvenient for some users. Additionally, due to their size and length, they may not be as portable as some other cleaning tools.
Overall, I'd highly recommend these microfiber dusters for anyone looking to effectively clean hard-to-reach areas in their home.

🔗Efficient Split-Tip, Polyply Cobweb Duster Brush

https://preview.redd.it/lg2q2n0x1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=373d70bb1677d1f50eaaf11e034b8fecd49acaf6
Imagine being stuck with a stubborn cobweb that just won't go away. I needed a solution that would get rid of it without causing any damage. That's when the Unger Cobweb Duster Brush came to the rescue. With its split-tipped, poly fibers, this duster brush effectively tackled the cobweb without scratching the delicate surface.
As I worked my way through the ceiling, the smooth handle of the duster provided a comfortable grip, preventing any hand fatigue that usually comes with such chores. The best part? The electrostatic energy of this duster made the cobweb and dust cling to it, ensuring a thorough cleaning. With the Unger Cobweb Duster Brush, I dusted more than just the ceiling - from moldings to shelves and desks, this duster was the perfect tool for the job.
Of course, no product is without its drawbacks. For me, it was the length - at 3.1 inches, it wasn't the most convenient for reaching high places like the crown molding. But overall, the Unger Cobweb Duster Brush proved to be a practical, effective tool for making my ceiling and home dust-free.

🔗Lightweight Cobweb Duster with Extendable Pole

https://preview.redd.it/bi2yts9x1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eff5df20f4e80c5206eab8de86b9065ac10507d7
I tried the Round Cobweb Duster with Extension Pole out of curiosity as I was not a fan of using dusters. The product exceeded my expectations. Not only did it make the task of cleaning cobwebs off the ceiling easier, but also without the typical back pain and discomfort that comes with holding a heavy duster. The lightweight aluminum pole definitely helped with reaching the highest corners of the ceiling.
The duster head, made of microfiber, is quite versatile. It was gentle on surfaces like picture frames and paintings, yet effective at removing dust from even the most obscure cobweb-filled corners. It was handy for cleaning hard to reach places like kitchen appliances and the inside of my car. Plus, the extendable pole made reaching tall fans and light fixtures a breeze.
However, I found the duster head a bit challenging to clean. After several attempts at cleaning it, I discovered it was recommended to hand wash it, despite no specific instructions provided. I also found changing between different duster heads a bit tricky, especially when using the telescope pole—it added an extra layer of complexity to an otherwise simple dust-removing tool.
Overall, I'd say the Cobweb Duster lived up to its claim of being the perfect tool for cleaning high ceilings. It could have been improved with better cleaning instructions and simpler mechanisms for changing duster heads. But given these minor issues, I'd still recommend it to anyone longing for their ceiling to be spider-web free.

🔗Cobweb Duster Replacement Head for Telescopic Pole

https://preview.redd.it/udpkpwpx1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae414d1d98174c0b0dc780e39f313b915e1f3705
Having used this cobweb duster head in my own home, I must say it's a game-changer for removing stubborn cobwebs and dust from high, hard-to-reach areas. The durable PVC bristles with split tips not only make it easy to knock down cobwebs but also help in reaching dust and dirt in those pesky corners. The best part, it attaches seamlessly to my JT Eaton telescopic pole, which can extend up to 10 feet, making it even more efficient.
This duster has made cleaning ceilings and door frames feel like a breeze, and I highly recommend giving it a try. Despite some users mentioning the need for a little extra care while cleaning, it's an overall great value and a must-have for any homeowner.

🔗Superior High Ceiling Duster Kit with Versatile Brush Heads

https://preview.redd.it/uccngxwx1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82661f7de7d957c8bb3ea74e7a132a2ec535c80f
I recently had the pleasure of using the Hicavar 20 Foot High Ceiling Fan Duster to tackle some tricky dusting tasks in my home. The first thing that stood out to me was the versatility of the product - with a 5-12 foot extension pole, I could easily reach those high, hard-to-reach areas without worrying about my safety.
The kit came equipped with four brush heads that made swift work of my daily cobweb and dust cleaning needs. I especially loved the microfiber and bendable chenille dust collectors, which were perfect for cleaning my furniture and appliances with ease.
However, one downside I encountered was that the dust collectors did have a tendency to collect and retain some of the dust particles, which required occasional cleaning. Nevertheless, this minor drawback was easily outweighed by the convenience and efficiency the product offered.
Overall, I'd say the Hicavar 20 Foot High Ceiling Fan Duster is a fantastic choice for those seeking an affordable, reliable, and user-friendly way to keep their homes dust-free - it truly lives up to its 5.0-star rating.

🔗Effortless Extra Long Microfiber Cobweb Duster for Cleaning High Areas

https://preview.redd.it/l47j9cby1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4fdd0c04b6576b5284b4085f8b2d8b2157c2838
I've been using the HEOATH microfiber feather duster daily, and it's been a game-changer for my home cleaning routine. This product has made reaching high, hard-to-reach areas a breeze, eliminating the need for precarious ladder or stool balancing. The extra long, extendable pole is not only functional, but also built with strength, thanks to the thickened connector and thick pole.
The microfiber head is incredibly soft, ensuring gentle but effective dust removal. I also appreciate that it's non-scratch and washable, making it both environmentally friendly and easy to maintain. While washing, it's essential to follow the proper instructions by hand washing with warm or low heat water and letting it air dry in a ventilated place.
However, it has come to my attention that the product's non-scratch feature comes with a downside - it could be too gentle for removing stubborn dirt. Additionally, the duster might be slightly difficult to maneuver around tight spaces due to its size. Overall, the HEOATH microfiber feather duster is a handy cleaning tool that simplifies the chore of dusting in even the toughest to reach areas.

🔗Lightweight Cobweb Duster with 3-Stage Extension Pole

https://preview.redd.it/4cmhzrry1q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea067548bb258b0835e220b6a6c0501a0e38a24e

The DocaPole Extension Pole Cobweb Duster Kit is the ideal solution for reaching high areas in your home. I recently tried using it to clean a hard-to-reach cobweb on my ceiling, and it worked like a charm! .
The pole extends from 5 to 12 feet, giving me the extra reach I needed. The cobweb duster itself is made of synthetic materials, making it an efficient dust catcher and perfect for those with allergies. However, I noticed it only weighs 2.4 pounds, so you may need to add some extra weight to keep it steady while cleaning.
Overall, it's a fantastic cleaning tool for those hard-to-reach places, and I can't wait to use it again in my home.

🔗Extra Long Cobweb Duster for High Corners and Window Screens

During a recent remodeling project, I was tasked with cleaning every inch of the house, including the pesky cobwebs that had been lingering on the ceilings and corners. I came across the Ettore Products Mighty Touch Cobweb Duster, and I must admit, I was a bit skeptical. But after giving it a try, I was pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness and convenience.
One of the first things I noticed was the duster's unique shape, which allowed me to reach even the most stubborn cobwebs in corners and along edges. The soft bristles were gentle enough to use around delicate decorations, while still being sturdy enough to remove the dust and cobwebs from window screens and ceiling fans.
The 3-section steel handle was a game-changer, extending to an impressive 9 feet and allowing me to easily clean high ceilings and hard-to-reach places without needing to risk falling or using a ladder. The extended pole also made it comfortable to hold and maneuver, making the cleaning process much less intimidating.
However, I did experience a small obstacle when trying to lock the extension poles in place. Some users have noted that the fittings are reverse-threaded, which may cause some confusion at first. But once I figured that out, the duster worked smoothly and efficiently.
In summary, the Ettore Products Mighty Touch Cobweb Duster has proven to be a reliable and practical cleaning tool for my daily life. Its innovative design, soft and sturdy bristles, and convenient extendable handle make it a must-have for anyone looking to tackle those pesky cobwebs with ease. Just remember to lock those poles properly, and you'll be golden!

Buyer's Guide

Cobwebs are often considered a sign of a neglected or dirty space. However, having cobwebs can also be simply a result of the natural process of spider weaving. Whatever the reason, if you're looking for ways to keep your space clean and free from cobwebs, a cobweb duster is the perfect tool for you.

Important Features

https://preview.redd.it/25ktepr12q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbd4c811a556c66ed81f795ca8019d9a0d1197e5

Material

When choosing a cobweb duster, consider the material it is made of. Most cobweb dusters are made of soft materials such as synthetic fibers or natural materials like goat hair. Soft materials are effective at removing cobwebs without damaging surfaces.

Length

Another important feature to consider is the length of the cobweb duster. Depending on the area you plan to use it, choose a duster with an appropriate length. Longer dusters allow for better reach and are suitable for high ceilings, while shorter dusters are more suitable for lower areas.

Handle

The handle of the cobweb duster should be comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver. A grip that is easy to hold and a shape that fits your hand comfortably make using the duster an enjoyable task.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Consider dusters with easy-to-clean and washable materials. Proper maintenance of your cobweb duster keeps it in good condition and ensures it remains effective for a long time.

Considerations

Allergies

If you or someone in your household has allergies to natural materials, choose synthetic fiber cobweb dusters instead of those made from goat hair or other animal fibers.

https://preview.redd.it/lufgyzf22q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56c218c25fee757257d1036e782f8bf89cf8c7d0

Spider Prevention

A cobweb duster is only one of the tools you can use to prevent cobwebs from forming. Regular cleaning, proper ventilation, and sealing cracks and crevices can help keep spiders away and prevent the formation of cobwebs.

General Advice

Don't Wait

Once you notice a cobweb, don't wait to clean it. Cobwebs multiply quickly, and the longer you wait, the more difficult it becomes to remove them without the help of a cobweb duster.

https://preview.redd.it/bc8mp8v22q1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cade7580c4edcce8fa2f3ce03eb39f9ca3cafbbc

Be Gentle

When using a cobweb duster, be gentle. Cobwebs are delicate structures and can easily be damaged if you're too rough when cleaning. Gently sweep the duster across the cobweb and it will come off easily.

Maintenance

Regularly maintain your cobweb duster by washing it or replacing it if necessary. Proper care ensures the duster remains effective and functional for a long time.

2024.05.21 07:21 RazzZzatam The Finale of the Festival of the Final Flame, a Fierce Farewell of Fiery Fascination!

The Finale of the Festival of the Final Flame, a Fierce Farewell of Fiery Fascination!
The fire elemental begins to float above the crowd. It's voice echoing when it speaks.
"Thanks to each and every one of you for bidding me farewell! This has truly been a night to remember for me! But as with all things, it must come to an end! So join in a final display of magical prowess! I have one final spell prepared for this event, and it will only become better with your help! Thanks to my ability to convert fire to magic, I shall be leaving you all with a parting gift (minus a select few)! But first, a final feast!"
The elemental holds its hands up, and thousands of items appear floating in the air around it. All items collected over the years with immense power. A contained super nova from Bombast and his child lost to fate. Several barrels of the liquormancer gobbo's most volatile brew. Hellish fuel collected from a fun journey with the drow. Countless items of magical power given in exchange for custome tailor work. Each and every item holding sentimental value to the elemental. And in a moment, they all burst into flames and begin absorbing into the elemental. The elemental begins glowing differently, mana overflowing from its form. Finally, the elemental summons a leather jacket and puts it on.
"So long everyone! May you learn from the power I leave you with, or at the least have fun with it! Now cast your spells into the sky with me, and may the night be cast alight by our mastery of the weave and our desires to forge our wishes into reality!!!"
The elemental begins flying up, as spells and armaments begin launching into the night sky. As spells begin to detonate, the elemental stops and looks down onto the crowd, peering at the familiar faces through the magesty of the spells the elemental had learned to love so long ago. With a final smile, the elemental whispers to itself.
"Fireballers for life."
and in a blinding flash, the sky breaks into a collage of coloured lights. The spells in the sky connected together as if they were watercolours diffusing into eachother. As the sky is alight with fire and magic, two things befall the crowd. First, comes the sparks and embers that remain, floating around as though still dancing amidst the crowd after death. Then, comes a viscous wave of mana. The air become rich with magic, infusing into every body and surface in the area. The elementals parting gift, magic for all. An increase in power so that all may take the world into their own hands. How that magic is used is up to the new wielders to decide, but the magic of thousands of artifacts and an ancient wizard has been bestowed equally upon the world.
And as the mana settles, so does the light in the sky. A final bang spanning over several moments, and the show is over. The elemental is gone, yet their legacy and friends live on.

2024.05.21 06:53 Impossible-Ghost So I just watched “Listen” for the first time and..

I don’t really understand it. It’s such a highly spoken about episode and I went in really expecting to like it- and I do, there’s lots of elements I like, but I just can’t fully say I love it yet without certain blanks being filled in.
My biggest question is why does the first part of the episode focus so much on an actual, invisible creature when there was really nothing there. Why could they all see the lump under the blanket if it was all just based on the Doctor going crazy from remembering Clara grab his foot when he was a child? I’m just a bit disappointed that half way through we seem to just change the direction of the whole thing. I’m all for confusing storylines but I’m not sure what Moffat was trying to achieve with this. What was the purpose of going to “ the end of the universe” (well THIS version I guess) and seeing the doors turn and all that Midnight-esque knocking if there really was NOTHING. Are we supposed to be seeing all this through the Doctors perspective, and if so, why do we get so much of Clara ( don’t get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the Clara bits, I’m glad to finally have something g giving her a bit more character than in season 7)?
So many things that just aren’t clicking in my mind. Otherwise, I’d really enjoy this episode for the fantastic acting and the creepy atmosphere. THIS is how you do a horror episode.
Side note: Wouldn’t the perfect hiders be the Silence creatures? Since they can hide in Plain sight and even if they are discovered no one remembers long enough to do anything about it, so in a sense they stay hidden.

2024.05.21 06:49 SamePerception1345 My husband respects his woman friends more than me.

I (25 female) and my husband (29 male) have been together 6 years and married for one. It has been a long going issue for me feeling like I am inadequate. Example, minimal quality time spent together, he prefers to hand out with his friends leaving me home alone regularly, and one of the biggest of all… he doesn’t find me funny. I know the last one seems childish but I pride myself about being funny. Joking and playing was a big part of my childhood and bonding with my family so it sometimes feels like a slap in the face. He has no issue laughing, playing, and joking around with his friends which is fine, that’s why they are his friends but I become jealous at times because of that.
He had 2 woman friends when we met, one his still around and she is great, I’ve never had any issues with her. The other is still partly around but I do not approve of due to an issue of her trying to force me to have an abortion with our child (now 3 years old). I bothered me that he is still in contact with her and will defend not cutting her off tooth and nail. Most would say he’s cheating but I genuinely have full faith in him that he is not cheating on me with her.
The real issues have started with a new female friend his has acquired through motorcycle riding. For privacy we will call this friend Jenny (female between 25-30). Jenny is a rider who he’s met within the past 2 years of riding. I expressed my disapproval early on because typically a single woman rider in a group of only men is grounds for concern. She only dates within that group which raises my concern even more. I have met her 2 times within the past 4 months and neither time has she even acknowledged my existence. My husband does message back and forth with her, maybe 1-2 times every other week.
Two days ago we went to our local motorcycle track where they were hosting a casual track day. The bikers ride the track in groups at their own paces, if they choose to race another rider that’s on them when it’s their groups turn. Everything started well my husband and I watching the other riders, sharing options and talking about the sport. The group got off and we went to the waiting area where they park their bikes in-between sessions as he said a couple people he knew were getting off. The moment we walk up I see Jenny and she is already in a sprint towards us (I’m being a bit dramatic, it was more of a jog but it felt as though she was sprinting). She gets to us and immediately starts jumping around excited and talking about the track and how her bike felt with my husband. I was standing right next to my husband and not once did she look at me or acknowledge I was there. He became smiley and his tone changed from casual to excited with her.
She finally retreated and we continued to walk over to the rest of the group. To preface I am an introvert and have some issues going conversations with people I am not familiar with. In the 30 minute I stood there awkwardly Jenny proceeded to run up to my husband and additional 4 times all the same with me being invisible. After 30 minutes I retreated to our vehicle which was parked directly behind where they were. I sat there for the remainder of the 2 hours we were there on my phone. Occasionally looking up to see she was still doing the same back and forth with my husband and the same big smile on his face.
On our way home I brought up the conversation of how I was even more uncomfortable with her now, what I saw the 2 hours we were there, and how I would like him to stop communicating with her. He immediately got defensive and angry.
A little background, my parents have been dealing with a nasty affair (my dad) for the past 6 months and marriage issues for the past 1 1/2 years in which the affair was happening that entire time. I was caught in the middle of this drama trying to help them and was the one who aired the affair because my dad confessed to me. All that being said has caused some of my own trust issues within my own marriage.
He continued to fight for her until I finally backed up realized I was not getting through to him. The entire time I was level headed and calm while he was upset and angry. Now currently 2 days later he is acting as if nothing happened and my defenses are now up. I guess my question is what do you think of this? Am I in the wrong?

2024.05.21 06:15 StrongerThanU_Reddit A Theory I brewed up at like 11:00 at night about the subclasses and a theoretical 3rd darkness subclass. (Originally posted in a youtube comment section. As well as reposted from r/DestinyTheGame.)

Here's a link to where I originally posted this.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Xda-un-ppNA
Edit: Take this with like, 27 and a half grains of salt. I'm a Titan main, so lore nerds please don't put a pipe bomb in my mailbox if I get something wrong.
Edit 2: Reworked my theories on Strife (and changed its name to Strain), and Arc.
Edit 3: Reworked/added to Strand. Posted on Reddit for further review by the Destiny lore and theorycrafting community (AKA the Warlocks).
Edit 4: Reworked some structuring in the post itself. Added more/a better TL;DR section. Thought about removing this section because it's getting big.
TL;DR for subclass talk:
Maybe the subclasses are all different parts of physics guys.
Solar: Fusion (just look at the sun; it happens in the sun at ALL times)/heat
Arc: Motion/spacetime/time dilation/ movement of energy itself/"ARC-celeration"c(hehehe)/energy transfer
Void: zero point energy/gravity
Stasis: Absolute zero/stillness/fission (shattering?)
Strand: String theory (probably not)/(what I think it better represents) quantum enTANGLEment/choice
Strain/strife (possible names): entropy/no energy transfeimmovable objects, unstoppable forces, infinite masses and density etc.
Prismatic: theory of everything/unifying quantum theory (darkness) with general relativity (light?)
TL;DR for Strife/Strain supers:
TITANS: For their super they get a force field around them that absorbs damage and then explodes. The explosion stuns all 3 kinds of champions and only happens if damage is taken when shielding. Get half of super back if they take no damage.
WARLOCKS: For the Warlock super you cast a field around you that catches all projectiles shot at you and throws them back at the enemy that shot them. Basically just say "no u" to damage.
HUNTERS: You dead-on sprint through anything in your way. Doubles sprint speed at T3 mobility, but triples at T10. Downside: you can't stop running. Upside: anything you run into just sort of stops existing.
Okay, okay, I'm just going to ramble now. Take note that some terms/concepts here will feel weird and out-of-context without knowledge in these specific subjects.
Let's take a look at Void and Strand: Void could be gravity, a sort of connection that gets stronger as two objects get closer. Strand could be entanglement, a connection that forms a bond between two objects that works (spookily?) at a distance. They are both connections. Also with darkness being based around knowledge, if we look at only one of two entangled particles and it is spinning up then we can know without looking at the other particle that it is spinning down. Look at the Strand Clones; they are copies of the hunter that created them that have been entangled by the hunter. When they dodge, they create an unstable version of themselves that will explode when an enemy comes near it, or just unravel peacefully after a certain amount of time. Strand is often associated with sewing, weaving, and fabrics. Throughout other pop-culture what is also described as being sewn, weaved, or (more commonly) made of fabric? That’s right; space time. I think that strand has something to do with other timelines; other threads of existence. Perhaps the hunter pulls a specter from some other timeline to use as a weapon. (I mean what haven’t Guardians turned into weapons at this point). Maybe when Warlocks weavewalk, they enter another timeline identical to ours with a tether being cast between the two to keep them connected (if you don’t like that make up your own reason for why they stay partially visible in our world).
Alright now let's look at the easiest of the three groupings to talk about: Solar and Stasis. Solar is heat/fusion. Fusion happens in the sun and so it makes sense that solar is a subclass focusing on heat. Look at the buff "Radiant." It doesn't exactly have anything about it pertaining to fire, but I would certainly describe the sun as "Radiant." (this one's iffy but I thought I'd include it anyways). Now look at Stasis. I think that it HEAVILY relates to fission, which is (sort of but not really) the opposite of fusion. Let's look at the stasis debuff, "Slowed." This effect is the opposite of Solar's "Scorched" effect. At 100 stacks of Scorched, a target will ignite. Stars go through this same process at their birth, they slowly gather more and more mass, more and more heat, until eventually fusion happens, the star... ignites. At 100 stacks of "Slowed," however, the target freezes. Then, when damaged the target shatters, like in fission when we break atoms apart and release the energy. The target even shows this release of energy in Destiny because they glow bright then take damage. With fusion being the stronger of the two, it is certainly interesting that this season, Season of the Wish, the season before they drop the "theory of everything," Prismatic, Solar (fusion) is stronger than Stasis (fission). They might just (probably not) deliver this slap across the face in the Lightfall/Season of the Wish finale. Also on the less deep and more obvious side of things, they are both just fire and ice, I mean come on… that’s just cliche 101.
Okay moving on to Arc and Strain (my name for the 3rd Darkness subclass). This one is a bit more difficult. Arc is manifested as lightning. It's described as pertaining to motion and speed. It is "Arc-celeration." Time dilation happens when moving rapidly through space. Because space and time are the same force, the faster you move through space, the slower you move through time. This is very unintuitive, but the slower you move through time, the faster everything else moves through time (from your perspective). If you send a spaceship to the closest solar system (which is about 4 light years away) at the speed of light you will reach it in four years. Well, not really, there's also space dilation. Basically the faster you go towards something the smaller the distance between you and it. That's why a theoretical trip to another solar system at high speeds would have you decelerate after you reach the halfway point, so that you don't get farther from your destination. Satisfied sigh Oh, the complications of relativity, aren't they wonderful! Anyways back to what I was talking about: Arc transfers energy into motion and motion into energy. Thundercrash launches the Titan at high speeds until they hit something, releasing the energy as lightning, damaging the enemy. The Hunters' Arc staff deflects things by transferring their speed into energy and that energy into speed in a different direction. Warlocks use Chaos Reach to conjure stored energy and rapidly accelerate it in a beam of damaging energy. Titans' Fists of Havoc slam to the ground converting their falling momentum into damage like Thundercrash, and when they use their shoulder charge, they punch an enemy, changing their momentum into energy, and transfering that energy into a punch. Arc is energy transferal. Strain might be the opposite of energy transferal. Immovable objects, unstoppable forces, permanent momentum.
Ok ok ok... hear me out (also take these with 27 and a half grains of salt. I'm a Titan and brutality is a part of my culture.):
TITANS: For their super they get a force field tightly hugging their bodies for a short amount of time. The amount of damage they would have taken builds up and as they release this energy, they blast out in an explosion of damage that is completely unstoppable by any form of enemy with any kind of shield (it also stuns all champions). I'm talking Bubble popping power. If they take no damage, they get half of their super energy left and no explosion is caused. I call the Titans' super: UNBREAKABLE WILL
WARLOCKS: For the Warlock super you ground yourself completely and extend this unbreakable field of influence beyond allowing you to move (floating above the ground as always). ANY projectile or attack thrown at you is caught in this field and stopped until the super ends, when you unleash all of these projectiles back at the sender (if they aren't already dead). Melee attacks bounce back and damage whoever just hit you. I'm talking CATCHES Thundercrashes and turns that Titan towards any of their allies and LAUNCHES them. You are THE uno reverse card. I call the Warlocks' super: UNENDING VOLLEY
HUNTERS: You guys are the most mobile of the three classes, thus I have given you a roaming, movement-based super. You dead-on sprint through all that stands in your way. Doubles sprint speed at T3 mobility, but triples at T10 with all speeds between. Downside: you can't stop running. Upside: anything you run into just sort of stops existing. You are a living, breathing, and (most importantly) running .50 cal BMG round. Anything you can't kill in one hit you just run through allowing for another drive-by (through?) to be made. I call the Hunter's super: UNSTOPPABLE SPRINT

Now looking at Prismatic:
Prismatic is the sum of it all, it's the way that general relativity and quantum theory will eventually click into the perfect, symmetrical, equation. "The theory of everything," and "The Final Shape," kinda sound similar too. Just saying. ¯\_(-_-)_/¯
I don't have a lot on Prismatic.
All right, that's it. That's all I'll say. I could keep going. I could talk about Blink working on both Void and Arc (which I will a little anyways >:D) Void works 'cause of the physics behind hawking radiation and arc working because of what happens at "absolute fast" which is similar to absolute hot but instead the motion is given direction and not just molecules bouncing around really fast. Absolute hot is the opposite of absolute zero by the way for those that don't know. I could talk about my theory on resonance. But I won't, because this comment is already WAY TOO LONG and talking about anything more is going to make my brain start holding my heart ransom, threatening a heart attack.
That took an hour and a half to type... :/
And another half hour to edit. -_-
And another to do it again. T-T

2024.05.21 05:46 TheUniclops I feel like I was just born with a broken heart.

I feel like my furthest back memories of life have always just been sad. I remember in 2nd grade having this big realization that I wasn't like other people, I was different. And it made me SO sad. And that feeling never left.
So much happened growing up, too much to go into. But I grew up with bad folks around. Good parents who loved me, but troubled family members and drug addicts ect. I just remember always feeling alone, isolated, different, sad, and lonely.
BUT. when I turned 19 I made a decision that I was going to work hard to be happy.
But now I'm mid 30's nearing 40. I'm still just.... so sad. Everything I touch falls apart, and I lose everyone I love. I feel like I am cursed. Everyone I love either dies, or forgets about me. I feel like I've always been so forgettable.
I've tried all the things, I have a therapist, I'm on meds.
But nothing really helps with this deep loneliness.
And as I get older, it just hurts more and more every time someone forgets about me. Or when people make me feel like a ghost.
I'm on the autism spectrum and I try really hard to act whatever "normal" seems. But I feel like people always treat me like I'm stupid for acting "happy" or trying to hope for the best outcomes. Sometimes at work when we are discussing important things as a group, I'll say something, everyone will just look glance at me and continue talking over me. Never acknowledge me. This is not just at work.
I was so happy when someone wanted to be my friend, we hit it off and things were so nice for a while. Until she found someone better. We hung out as a group, and they literally ignored me everywhere we went. And I am NOT joking or exaggerating here, but this is a good example of just HOW invisible I am. We drove past a car that was literally ON FIRE. It was up in flames and smoke was just billowing out into the sky. There were sirens coming down the street. I exclaimed "HOLY CRAP THAT CAR'S ON FIRE!!" and pointed. NOTHING. No reaction, they didn't even glance in my direction.
When we went shopping, they did the same, they would sometimes look at me if I spoke, but never responded. I left at one point and decided to just do my own thing. It took them an hour to notice I was gone. And I really believe the only reason they even came to find me was because one of them wanted a ride back to their car. I did it, but they talked on the phone to the other the whole time and ignored me. Even then.
My heart was just so broken, I had really thought I found a friend. Finally. But nope. I just stopped trying, I still text and care for them. But I know neither of them really care about me.
I even tried the whole relationship thing, but that is just too hard for me. I'm not sure if it's the autism or the ace part of me, but really. I just want friendship. Relationship stuff was just so hard and complicated, and I couldn't offer what was needed to the other person.
It's just getting SO exhausting. I feel like every bit of my energy goes into TRYING so HARD to be happy. I really do make an effort. I really believe that most people are good, and I try to be kind and understanding to people. I always try to assume the best, and I try to put love and kindness out into the world any chance I have. I'm working on going into a job where I will be helping people, I just don't want to say what right now. But all that said, it's getting harder and harder everyday to keep pushing myself in this direction. I just feel so tired.
I've been over spending and over eating. I feel so ashamed of myself, the amount of debt I'm in, I used to be so good with money. Everyone would come to me to borrow money. Now I'm in so much debt.
I guess what really triggered my emotions right now is that... Once again I thought I found a new friend. We hit it off so WELL at first. I was maybe too excited, I guess I should learn my lesson. But we had so much fun talking about our silly interests, we had similar hobbies. I just can't express just HOW much fun I had, I hadn't been so happy in So so sooo very long.
And then. They forgot about me too. I don't want to go into detail incase they see this and recognize themselves. I still care about them. I just miss them so much. But like everyone else, they forgot about me.
I wish I wasn't so forgettable. I just want friends. My heart feels so broken.
It's not just that I want something from people. I want people to love. I feel like my heart is so full of love and it hurts. If it wasn't for my pet I don't know what I would do. I love her so much, I give her everything I have.
I'm posting here. But I haven't tried to hurt myself in many, many years. It's just I'm having those daydreams again about how nice it would be to just not exist anymore. I just wish life didn't have to be so painful all of the time. I keep thinking eventually things will get better. But they never have. I wonder if it's even possible for things to ever be ok.
And yeah. I just feel so alone and unlovable. I feel so broken. I feel like if I died tomorrow, only my pet would notice or care. She's the only one who has really made me feel like I have any value. In fact, she's one of the only beings that has really made me feel like a human being.
Anyways, I guess that's enough rambling. Sorry for all the typos, I'm just so exhausting right now and about to knock out for the night. I just really needed to get that off my chest first. I see my therapist tomorrow but I feel like even he doesn't really get it. Maybe strangers on the internet will.

2024.05.21 04:31 kmrbtravel For those asking 'Please make me an itinerary' / 'hidden gems?' / 'what should my budget be?'

One of the hardest questions to answer on this subreddit is when people ask what their itinerary should be, followed by questions on what an appropriate budget would be, and then suggestions on hidden gems.
The TL;DR is that all three questions need more details if you want them to be answered.
"But kmrbtravel!" you say, "I need an itinerary if I want a budget, and a budget if I want to make an itinerary! It's all so overwhelming, and I don't know where to start! Oh but I also want to find places that have little to no tourists and are your secret hidden gems, just for that variety!"
I'm hoping this post will be a good starting point for the people above but also to let people know that for the vast majority of us, the 'basic' things recommended on Google and YouTube will be perfect! Travelling Japan is fun because there are so many things to be distracted by, and you will be spending a lot of your time wandering and trying things out, even without a detailed itinerary.

About Me

I write this spiel every time, but I'm a 25F solo traveller with friends I stay with in Japan. Played a Japanese martial art for years, and I visit Japan 3-4x every year (usually 1-2 weeks in April, 1 week in September, 1-2 weeks in late Oct/early Nov, and 1 month in December).
I'm currently on a mission to visit all 47 prefectures across Japan, and I'm at 9 right now (Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo, Shimane, Mie, Hiroshima, Okayama, Hyogo, and most recently Nagoya). You can read about my biggest and craziest trip here (especially if you're looking for suggestions outside of Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka!)
I speak and understand very basic and noob Japanese. Enough for me to get around, barely enough for me to talk to random obaasans in the onsen who are curious about my travels. I can read hiragana/katakana, and kanji still eludes me (but we'll get there!)
One thing to note about me is that I'm mostly temple/shrine oriented when I travel Japan, so I personally cannot answer questions regarding things like museums/amusement parks/etc.

What Makes Planning a Japan Trip So Hard? (And why is it harder for us to answer your questions?)

Out of any other country that I've visited, I genuinely believe that Japan has the most variety in terms of what you can do and see and can cater wildly to different kinds of people, which sometimes makes it very difficult for us to give you detailed answers. While we all have the same goal of 'exploring Japan,' I personally want to give the best answers possible. I will have different suggestions (and routes!) depending on if you can walk 30,000 steps/day, if you have young kids, if you like anime, if you like martial arts, if you like nature and hiking, if you like shrines/temples, if you don't mind crowds, if you want to just do what everyone else is doing, if you want to do more traditional things, etc. etc. This is why general questions on 'what should my itinerary be' can never fully be answered. We are not mind readers, but we're happy to help with more information.
'They all sound good to me though, and that's why I can't choose!'
Unfortunately, the reality is that you will have to choose by some point. Japan is so much fun because there is an endless amount of things to do, and you have to pick what sounds the most entertaining to you. After 9 prefectures and multiple visits to Japan, I have very, very little things that I personally didn't enjoy. We do not know who you are, and we do not know your preferences. You need to either pick for us, or give us that guidance so we can suggest appropriate itineraries for you.
In harsher terms, for the vast majority of us, an AI-made itinerary, or suggestions from Google or YouTube will satisfy your trip. What us humans can do on Reddit, is to give you specific suggestions, but we cannot give specific suggestions if you do not provide us with (somewhat) specific questions.

1. The Budget Question

I have travelled Japan with less than ¥2000/day, and have travelled with more than ¥20,000/day. The great thing about Japan is that you have the option to do both. Are you broke after plane tickets + hotels? No worries, there are tons of free sightseeing options and you can konbini or street food breakfast/lunch/dinner for very little. Do you want to splurge because this is your 'once-in-a-lifetime-trip?' Don't worry! There are tons of ways for you to sink your money in.
But to be more helpful, I'll break it down just a bit further. After hotels/planes, these are the biggest money sinks:
I'm probably forgetting things (and will update as I remember them), but Japan is REALLY good at chipping away at your wallet little bits at a time. It's not like Europe or North America where your cost is just expensive food + an expensive experience. Japan is a lot of cheap, little things that adds up quickly.
Some prices are baked in/unchanging (e.g. TeamLabs tickets or Shinkansen tickets), but many of those 'smaller things that adds up' can be quite random. I always add up my expected costs, subtract it from my total budget, and divide the remainder with the days I will be in Japan for.

2. The Itinerary Question

There are tons of great itineraries on YouTube and Google and I promise you, most of them are good enough for you to just copy/paste and experience. Use us for specific questions you may have in regards to them (e.g. I'm planning on going to xyz on abc dates, is there anything to keep in mind?) (and then we can inform you of any closures, tips, tricks, etc.).
As someone who travels a lot, I want to point out that hotspots are hot for a reason and the ones in Japan are all worth going to unless you can somehow tell it's not going to be your thing (and that's ok!) or you have a serious aversion to crowds.
How one makes an itinerary is always varied, but as someone who's good at going with the flow when travelling (and often plans very last minute), this is how I usually rumble:
0. BRING AN EMPTY SUITCASE: I usually have a slightly smaller suitcase inside of my big suitcase, and the smaller suitcase has all of my clothes + shoes. If you do this, please cover or cushion the wheels of your smaller suitcase inside. I have no idea what happens in the cargo, but I've smashed the wheels of two small suitcases (even though they were fine when they're not inside the larger suitcase). I usually just put some shoes/scarves/dark hoodies for cushioning.
My itinerary recommendations are nothing special as I literally pick things off Google. But hotspots are hot for a reason, and these were some of my favourites for Tokyo and Kyoto!

3. The 'Hidden Gem' Question

If this is your first trip to Japan, you don't need hidden gems (unless they're food-specific). The major sightseeing attractions are popular for a reason and will be more than enough unless you're literally here for months.
Secondly, and more importantly, I've realized that 'hidden gems' are pretty personal to an individual's tastes. For example, I revealed a few of my hidden gem shrines and temples a few months ago, and immediately got immediately told that it's not actually very great. Well yeah, but that's why it was a hidden gem for me, because I loved it. We will not know what a 'hidden gem' means for you unless you specify the type. Are we looking for hidden gems that are about food? Temples? Specific anime references?
I can promise you that 99% of places worth going to are already spread across social media, and they're popular for good reasons. I personally don't think it's worth travelling far or trying spend so much time and effort looking for that 1%, especially on a first trip.
Lastly, I personally do not reveal my hidden gems unless I know you in person or it's a small business that may appreciate more support. While you may disagree, I think overtourism/overcrowding is pretty real in Japan right now, and I'm hesitant to put smaller places up on public platforms.
With that being said though, for tourists who have already been to Japan and want 'hidden gems' beyond Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka, I highly recommend the Kyushu/Chugoku region trip that I did back in January. I don't have specific itinerary 'hidden gems' but I definitely have 'hidden prefectures' that I loved (and even preferred) to Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka! (They're not actually hidden, just less visited compared to the trifecta).
Full itinerary/trip report here.
My itinerary for these prefectures are nothing special and none of them are 'hidden gems' as they're literally the most popular attractions for each place. But a. I think this proves that the 'top search' on Google is perfectly fine (because that's what I did, and I had an amazing time), and b. the popular attractions are very much worth going to.
There is a special promotion for foreign tourists that lets you take the bus to and from Shimane to Hiroshima for only 1000 yen, and the bus is only around 3 hrs from Izumo to Hiroshima! You can either start in Kyoto and move down, or start in Hiroshima and move up. I did all in 6 days which I do NOT recommend because I had to rush / clocked 30k+ steps in every day / thought I was going to die by the last day / was in a new prefecture every day.
  1. Kyoto → Osaka → Kobe → Himeji → Okayama → Izumo → Hiroshima
  2. Hiroshima → Izumo → Okayama → Himeji → Kobe → Osaka → Kyoto
Other prefectures nearby that are worth checking out are Nara and Mie.

Thanks for reading!

If you made it to the end, thanks for reading and I hope this was helpful. I definitely don't know everything about Japan and tons of people have amazing tips (that I still learn from every day). This was hopefully to help address some of the more common issues / repeated questions that people had. The TLDR is really just that we need specifics on who YOU are for us to answer your questions better, especially if you're looking for 'hidden gems' that are specific to your interests.
Have an amazing trip, everyone!

2024.05.21 04:17 idkmyname567 I Created a Short Film Script Using AI and This is How It Turned Out

Title: Fallout: New Vegas - The Mojave Chronicles
Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Action/Drama
Director: Denis Villeneuve
Screenplay: Jonathan Nolan
Cast:
Plot Summary:
Opening Scene: The movie begins with an overhead shot of the desolate Mojave Wasteland, scarred by nuclear war. The camera zooms in on a lone courier (Oscar Isaac) traversing the harsh desert terrain with a small delivery in hand. Suddenly, he is ambushed by a gang led by the suave and sinister Benny (Rami Malek), who shoots him and leaves him for dead after stealing the platinum chip he's carrying. The screen fades to black.
Act 1: The Courier awakens in the small town of Goodsprings, nursed back to health by a kindly doctor. With fragmented memories and a thirst for revenge, he learns about the power struggles in the Mojave. Key factions include the New California Republic (NCR), Caesar's Legion, and Mr. House, the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas. The Courier sets out to track down Benny and uncover the mystery of the platinum chip.
Act 2: As the Courier journeys through the Mojave, he allies with several unique companions:
The Courier engages in various missions that highlight the moral complexities of this world, from assisting the struggling NCR to encountering the brutal methods of Caesar’s Legion, led by the charismatic and ruthless Caesar (Javier Bardem).
Act 3: The Courier finally confronts Benny at the tops of New Vegas, leading to a tense showdown. Benny reveals that the platinum chip is a key to controlling the Securitrons, robotic enforcers that can alter the balance of power in the Mojave.
The Courier then meets Mr. House (Mads Mikkelsen), who offers his vision for the future. However, the Courier also learns of Yes Man (voiced by Alan Tudyk), an AI with the potential to provide the Courier with ultimate control over New Vegas.
Climax: The final act sees a climactic battle at the Hoover Dam, where the NCR and Caesar's Legion clash. The Courier, armed with the platinum chip and backed by his companions, must decide the fate of New Vegas. He can side with Mr. House, support the NCR, join Caesar's Legion, or seize power for himself with Yes Man.
Ending: The movie ends on a reflective note, showing the consequences of the Courier’s choices. The future of the Mojave Wasteland is uncertain, shaped by the alliances and betrayals along the way. The Courier, now a legend, walks into the sunset, his story becoming part of the wasteland’s history.
Visual Style and Tone: The film employs a gritty, realistic aesthetic, capturing the harsh beauty of the desert and the retro-futuristic charm of New Vegas. Denis Villeneuve’s direction ensures a balance of intense action scenes and deep, character-driven moments, while Jonathan Nolan's screenplay weaves a complex narrative with moral ambiguity.
Soundtrack: The score, composed by Hans Zimmer, combines haunting orchestral pieces with classic 1950s tracks, enhancing the nostalgic yet eerie atmosphere of the Fallout universe.
Themes: The film explores themes of survival, morality, power, and identity in a post-apocalyptic world, questioning what it means to rebuild society from the ashes of destruction.

2024.05.21 03:17 Lambari_de_sanga Completed a Only guns + kill everything run

After weeks of grueling gameplay, I finally completed a Only guns + Genocide run (Pinecone Pig simulator). This was probably the most boring and anxiety inducing gameplay ever, but it's over. (To clarify, I don't have proof to post, besides a 19 hour save)
I just wanted to post my route here, which was very inefficient and stupidly slow, but I wanted to be safe, and minimize farming (my run ended at 19:47, probably 12:00 of farming and 03:00 of searching for enemies and loot). So, my route was:
Day 1 morning: - Looted all herbs and stuff; - Saved Henryk (didn't get the Vinushka's bible); - Killed some (sickle & pipe Villager after derelict house) Moonscorched enemies, shooting outside of battle (agility wasn't enough to fight), then ran back to the train through the west; - Went through the sewers towards PRHVL Bop (avoiding every enemy, died a few times), got a book of enlightenment and saved.
Day 1 morning/2: - Looted Dr. Kefer's store and the apartments nearby, getting a Vinushka's bible and triggering a death mask before heading out. - Went back through the sewers, avoiding enemies again. - Slept at the train.
Day 1 Evening: - Went after the Woodsman (without a strategy, mind you), killed him inside battle but lost an arm, recovering on the broken shack. - Got the Pinecone Pig, and then farmed a little bit (keep in mind that loot was still plentiful). - Went back to the village through the west and killed the villagers and vile, had to kill them outside of battle (same agility issue), and looted everything (finally getting the Small thing's amulet, yay). - Slept again.
Day 1 Night: - Killed the dogs and went to the bunker, looting everything. - Killed Chaugnar on the first floor (with the shotgun) - Got down and killed Chaugnar again (that scared me), consuming all of my ammo. - Rushed through Rher's dimension (avoiding everything). -Slept again, learning all of Levi's skills + Short Circuit.
Day 2 morning: - Bought ammo in the store. - Fun time in the sewers again! (Easier this time, through tunnel 6). - Tried to kill all bobbies and the rifleman from the main street (died a lot, both by bobbies and by Needles hands). - Avoiding Needles, looted the bookstore, got the GOFAH bible and saved.
Day 2 Morning/2: - Save scummed the fight against Marinara sauce (she blinded me too many times). - Looted the church and that little area to the east (learned a lesson after trying to kill the trooper, just avoided him afterwards). - Finally went after Needles, killing him outside of battle. - Went back to the village, spent my shillings, killed the decrepit priest, cut the main gate's locks and went after Pav (I didn't kill Marcoh or Tanaka due to poor planning). - Killed the bobbies, said hello to Pocketcat, then backtracked through the sewers and saved in the bop (ritual circle)
Day 2 morning/3: - Farmed a bit with the Pinecone Pig, and went back to the back alleys. - Juked a fecal hound and used his body to block a gate. - Killed the mob with relative ease (marksmanship saved my ass). - Went towards Karin and killed her (also killing the half cocooneds, easy fights). - Got my trusty bear trap and went to deal with that pesky death mask, almost dying in the process due to a visual bug that allowed it to reach me (the MF'er got invisible), but managed to run away and kill it. - Backtracked and farmed more (this time it was a longer session). - Cleared the orphanage and it's Rher's dimension (I left Father Hugo alive, good decision), then went back to the store for ammo. - Farming again... - Went to the sewers and cleared the moonscorched group (big mistake on my part, spent 2 9mm rounds per battle and a lot of healing items), also killing Moonscorched Levi and a rat hag. - Looted everything I had missed, went back to the train and saved (slept), also getting Pav's, Marina's and Karin's skills.
Day 2 evening: - Went on a killing spree (Marcoh, Tanaka, Olivia, Henryk and Caligura) and farmed (very long session, about 01:30). - Went to the Tunnel 7 Rher dimension and cleared it using a syringe of heroin (poor usage, but I was fed up of farming), saving me turns and ammo (1 shot inside of battle). - Ran to the white mold apartments, got in Rher's dimension and cleared it with heroin again (necessary, neighbors were wrecking me, and heroin made me 1 shot them w/pistol). - Went towards the storage near the woods, killing every enemy on the way (bad decision, should have waited until I got "steal"), and Olivia's doppelganger. - Went to the foundations of decay and defeated Moonless by using heroin and Yggaegetsu amulet (August saved her but screw this, I'm not doing all that farming again), and killed Tanaka's doppelganger. - Went back through the elevator to farm even more (almost losing my sanity). - Saved on the train again, with the ritual circle.
Day 2 evening/2: - Went to the church to kill all crimson fathers. Then cleared the way to the mausoleum alley. - Avoided the Bellends and used Pep pills to beat Rancid the Sergal. - Killed the other Bellends (after more farming...). - Got almost every possible skill in the Hexen, got another book of enlightenment and saved.
Day 2 evening/3: - Went to the church to kill dysmorphia, then killed the elite trooper to the east (using steal, best skill ever). - Looted the museum, talked to Pocketcat and got 4 books of enlightenment. - Back to the White Mold Apartments to kill Daan. - More farming... - Went to the woods avoiding the owl cultists (very annoying, resilient to bullets inside battle), killed the dogs, then went back and killed the Centaur (funny thing, he got stuck and I one shot him, really cool). - Entered the bunker, looted it and killed Stitches (too afraid to lose a good run, so I shot her in the overworld, wasting ammo), then I ignored the Living Flesh. - Went back to the train and slept.
Day 2, night: - From this point onwards, it was just Pinecone Pig farming. No loot left anywhere. - Went to the sewers to kill neighbors and other enemies. - Back to the church to kill the Crimson fathers from the hidden passage (avoided them before due to lack of ammo) and the Pillarmen. - Back to farming, saved in the Mayor's manor.
Day 3 morning: - Again, even more farming, then I went after the Mayor's manor Ronteals. - Hunted down the beekeepers in the city (killed them on the overworld). - Killed Father Hugo, getting another 2 Books of Enlightenment. - Went back once again to farm (had to spend a lot of time, since boxes and other stuff was scarce). - Killed all Sew Jobs in battle (taking unnecessary risks, just to save ammo). - Saved with a Book of Enlightenment (tired as fuck).
From this point onwards, I just farmed a lot and killed Rancid the Sergal, the Living Flesh, August (took too long, I wanted to kill him before, but lack of planning struck again), all of the Owl cultists (surprisingly tough, 3-4 pistol or rifle ammo in battle, so i killed some in the overworld) and the Ratkin Gang (surprisingly easy with Marcoh's skills). All of these had farming sessions in-between. At last, I said goodbye to (AKA: brutally murdered) my villager buddies and went for the hard fights.
I killed both the Tormented One and the Heartless One, using the ultimate boss fight setup, that I kept for all remaining boss fights: - Rifle; - Chainmail dress; - Bremen elite helmet; - Salmonsnake Rune; - Yggaegetsu amulet; - Leechmonger ring.
After this, saved again in Hugo's House (spent many books farming w/Pinecone Pig, left 1 for the bunker) and got ending B, which was surprisingly easy. Then I went for ending A, got ammo in the bunker, cleared it and saved on the last bridge, also using my last heroin syringe. Died 3 times in the Platoon fight, but succeeded and killed Kaiser easily. Fighting against logic was tense AF, not because of health, but of ammo. You might not believe it, but after spending 19 .303 ammo and 14 9mm ammo, I finished off Logic with the only shotgun shell I had in my inventory, epic as fuck.
So, this was my run. I wanted to share just to know the mistakes I made, and also because I'm happy with this.
Just to add: does anyone know other challenges that are also hard and involve killing everyone? (Just not maso-mode, I think I'd have a mental breakdown)

2024.05.21 03:09 slightlybemusedsloth Peru with Belmond Review

Peru with Belmond Review
Went to Peru this April for a bucket list trip and as it is also on a lot of other people’s lists, I thought I’d share our experiences doing a full Belmond tour (hotels, private guides, museum/site/MP tickets, transportation). When researching for the trip, I had seen plenty of reviews on the individual properties but not much on their “journeys” so hopefully this is exhaustive but not too exhausting. Usually I plan my own trips and like to do a mix of properties rather than stay with one brand, but since we wanted to stay at the various Belmond offerings, it made sense to us to just do the package.
4 travelers (2 couples, all in our thirties)
Time frame: Eight days in April including international travel, booked in February (so short notice)
Day 1: Arrived in Lima late at night. Word of caution at the baggage claim - we knew we were meeting our Belmond rep and had been sent a diagram of where to meet him, which was a good thing, as there are people trawling the baggage claim that will say they are from the various hotels and try to take your luggage out for you (for a tip). They’re not officially associated with the hotel, so use their service at your own risk! Once we met our rep, we were promptly whisked away in a comfortable sprinter van complete with water and snacks, as would be the case for the rest of the trip, and our guide gave a good overview of the city on the way to the hotel, the Belmond Miraflores.
The hotel sits right on the water and is what I would call a classic “city hotel.” Beautiful flower arrangements in the lobby, where we were sat with welcome pisco sours for check in. Stayed in an Ocean View Junior Suite which was comfortable but nothing crazy memorable.
Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel rooftop restaurant. The small pool area is there as well. Great views over the coast. Food was a mix of a short a la carte menu and plenty of buffet options. Service was efficient and very friendly. Post breakfast, we were met in the lobby by our tour guide and driver for the day. Saw multiple sites including the Plaza Mayor, Archbishop’s Palace, the Santo Domingo Convent, and pre-Incan ruins. The best part was definitely the Larco museum. It’s excellently curated, the outdoor space is beautiful, and the exhibits are fascinating (and unique - erotic ceramics???). Appreciated having a guide to take us through the highlights, as sometimes it’s easy to get “museum-ed out” but I could have easily spent more time there. Hopped back to the hotel for a light late lunch. The restaurant downstairs has excellent ceviche. Spent a few hours relaxing and enjoying the view before Maido for dinner. The food is great, the wine pairing and intro of said wines was a bit perfunctory.
Day 3: Breakfast was again delicious and the waiters packed us to go parcels of coca/mint tea leaves for our trip to Cusco. Belmond took care of booking our flight on Latam and we were walked through right up to security. Once we landed and before we really felt the altitude, we were met by our driver and guide for the next few days and whisked away towards the Sacred Valley. Again, plenty of water and snacks on board, wifi, and coca candy for the altitude. Made a stop at Sulca Textiles, which is a small community collective of weavers with a museum of stunning wall weavings, a store with real baby alpaca items (not “maybe alpaca”), and a chance to see and feed the alpacas, llamas, and guacanos! Very memorable for sure and the best spot to load up on gifts. Stopped for a few more photo ops on the way to the Rio Sagrado. The Sacred Valley is filled with expansive, ever changing views and Hugo entertained and educated us on the long history and culture of the area.
The Rio Sagrado is a small, quiet sanctuary that is almost blink and miss the entrance right off the main road. Again we were greeted with a welcome drink and cool towels. The hotel is not big but there are some terraces and they will happily golf cart you around if you need (or in our case, our luggage). Stayed in a Garden Junior Suite. Room had a small balcony area with yoga mat available and while there was no tub, there was a large walk in shower. There is a small bar and quiet restaurant on site. Emphasis on quiet - it was the smallest of all the hotels on the trip, but the food quality was certainly up to par. They warm the beds at turndown with llama water bottles, a very cute touch.
Day 4: Breakfast here seems to alternate between a la carte plus buffet vs strictly a la carte. Hugo met us at our pre-discussed time and off we went to visit Ollantaytambo. There’s a colorful market there that is nice for photos and if you want classic souvenir trinkets but the site itself is the star. The streets there are narrow and crowded and our driver navigated them with ease. Hugo hiked with us to the very top and impressed up with his knowledge and insight. We’re also not stuffy people and he easily navigated both our interest in the culture and also our often bad jokes (with worse ones of his own 😂). For lunch we were treated to a local restaurant up in the mountains where we were the only ones there! I don’t think we would have otherwise found the place but it was a veritable feast that we got to enjoy with our now friends. Post lunch, more impressive tours of Maras and Moray. If you don’t get to go to Central in Lima, Virgilio’s other restaurant Mil is right next to Moray. Back to hotel for relaxing at the bar with drinks and cards and then early dinner…MP was waiting!
Day 5: Did I mention you get to feed the baby alpacas at breakfast? After this must do, we were off back to Ollantaytambo to the train station. If you’re not like us and book reasonably ahead of time, the Belmond Hiram Bingham stops right at the Rio Sagrado and picks you up from there. We took the Vistadome. As you would guess from the name, there’s plenty of windows that stretch above you to take in the Andean views. There’s an open observatory car at the end as well complete with live entertainment. The trip goes by quickly and Hugo came with us on the train. There are luggage restrictions so we left our big bags with our driver, who would bring them to Cusco for us. At the station in Aguas Calientes, the Santuary Lodge has people to take your bags ahead of you, and then you take the bus up to MP proper. Here Hugo worked his magic (he seemed to know people everywhere) and managed to get us on the bus before a huge wedding party. Yes it’s a public bus, but it’s perfectly comfortable and air conditioned. Arrived at the entrance to MP and wow, the Sanctuary Lodge really is RIGHT THERE. They take you to the garden to check in (welcome drinks, towels, the whole enchilada), and you marvel at where you are. The gardens are beautiful and absolutely filled with hummingbirds! Rooms weren’t quite ready so we had the buffet lunch at the hotel. Plenty of choices here. They came and found us at lunch to tell us our rooms were ready. Stayed in a Deluxe Terrace Room. The rooms are…not large and had a tiny bit of a damp smell (this is such a minor thing) but were well stocked (raincoats, souvenir water bottles, bug spray, lotions, massage oils, plenty of snacks and drinks - meals and minibasnacks included here).
Once we had time to freshen up, it was time to see Machu Picchu! Photos don’t do it justice and you will want a guide to get the most out of your experience. Hugo made the site come to life and this time of year, it did not feel crowded at all going later in the day. It also started drizzling when we were leaving, and it was perfect getting to duck right into the hotel, steps away. There’s nothing besides the hotel there so relax at the restaurant bar, have a spa visit, and get ready for dinner. It seemed most everyone there had changed out of hiking gear. Personally, dinner was well executed if the flavors were not my favorite. Take it with a grain of salt as they obviously have to bring everything up from the town.
Day 6: Woke up early to hike Huayna Picchu. The best views of MP were at this time. Hugo hiked “the stairs of death” with us (not nearly as bad as it sounds if you don’t have an extreme fear of heights) and played personal photographer. It’s a very worthwhile hike to get to see MP from a different angle. We got back right at check out time and the hotel was kind enough to let us change/shower in our own room rather than have to use their separate change/shower area. We did another circuit of MP after lunch and then just hung out with Hugo over drinks. The biggest perk of staying at Sanctuary Lodge is having multiple chances to see MP. While it’s beautiful on a gloomy day with the clouds suspended amongst the mountain peaks, it would be sad to travel all that way and never see it while it’s sunny. And weather changes quickly in the mountains!
Had a long bit of travel back through the Sacred Valley by train (if you were only to do the Hiram Bingham one way, it may be better to do it on the way back as it’s nighttime and you can’t enjoy the views), then picked up by car and off all the way back to Cusco.
Stayed at the Palacio Nazarenas in a Studio Suite and it was the best of all the Belmond properties! Right next door to the Belmond Monasterio. It has beautiful courtyard spaces everywhere you look and the rooms are the largest here. They pump oxygen in to help with the altitude. Large bathroom with soaking tub and separate spacious walk in shower. Studio suites have a sitting area inside and a small patio area outside overlooking a courtyard. Large bottles of rum and pisco are included. Got in super late so ordered room service which was delicious.
Day 7: Breakfast was combo buffet and a la carte. Fresh juices and plenty of local produce. The restaurant Mauka overlooks the pristine royal blue pool and it’s a picture perfect setting. Lots of touring around Cusco this day, seeing the main square and cathedral, multiple important sites like Sacsayhuaman, and Quenqo. Hugo really shined here - besides helping us understand the significance of the sites, he knew we were sad about not seeing a vicunya so we did an impromptu stop at another weaving center to see two of the few non-wild vicunyas. He also had arranged “a farewell surprise” for us and one of our party hadn’t been feeling well that day. Hugo checked on him all during our tours and arranged for our driver to pick him up so we could all share one last farewell drink. The Palacio is a gem and I would happily spend many more days here! When we got back to the hotel post shopping and tearful farewells (we actually still keep in touch), we had a personal patio side pisco sour making class with one of the fantastic butlers and enjoyed one of my favorite meals of the trip at Mauka. Pricey, but very very good.
Day 8: Off to Lima again, where we had a long layover, the same Belmond rep who met us initially helped settle us in for the wait before the long trip home!
Belmond Bellini perks (through a TA, they don’t have a personal reward program): Usually $100 hotel credit everywhere we stayed, potential for room upgrades, breakfast every day, welcome note/chocolate. Also a $500 voucher to use for another Belmond trip
Will be looking to do a trip back to Peru at some point to see the Nazca Lines and Lake Titicaca and will not hesitate to use Belmond again, especially to get a few extra days of R&R at the Palacio.
TLDR: If you’re going to Peru for the first time and want to do it chubby luxe, the Belmonds certainly fit the bill and the package deal is worth it for the convenience and the quality of the guides. You won’t have to worry about a thing.
If you’ve read this far, hope this helps and happy travels!

Every month “plumbers near me” is searched up to 850,000 times globally.
To thrive, your plumbing business needs to be visible where most potential customers are searching, Google.
This guide will provide you with top Plumber SEO tips to enhance your plumbing business’s online visibility.
First, what is Plumber SEO?
Plumber SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the practice of affecting local search engine rankings for plumbers.
Why You Should Do Plumber SEO
Plumber SEO is crucial because it helps your plumbing service appear in search results when potential customers in your target area look for the services you offer.
A cool 54% of all clicks go to the top three organic search results.
If you’re not effective with SEO you’re invisible organically.
Can You Do Plumber SEO Yourself?
Yes, you can certainly get started with the basics of Plumber SEO, but advanced SEO, with some elements of Technical SEO, may require a specialist.
The most accessible way to stay abreast of updates is through reputable sources like Barry Schwartz and Lily Ray.
Learn useful techniques by following experienced Local SEO professionals like Joy Hawkins and Darren Shaw.

1. Optimize Your Google Business Profile

Google Local Map Pack
To appear in Google’s local search results, including the Map Pack, start with your Google Business Profile (GBP).
Claim and Set Up Your Google Profile. If you’re not on the map already, add your business name and category. Choose a primary category such as “Plumber” and you can add more later for more specific services like Gas Installation Service, Drainage Service, or Bathroom Remodeler.

Complete Your Profile Details

Review Darren Shaw’s Whitespark Local Search Ranking Factors to see how you should prioritize your time.
If you’re here doing pre-research before you even start a plumbing business take advantage of the knowledge that the keywords in your business name and the proximity to the location you want to rank in are top-ranking factors.
Set up your service area and you can choose up to 20 locations, but the guideline is that it must be no longer than a 2-hour drive from where your business is based.

2. Local NAP Citations

Most business directories list your business name, address, and phone number. These listings are known as NAP citations.

Local Data Aggregators

You can either use a data aggregator service like Data Axle and Foursquare to list you on multiple directories.
There’s also Whitespark who offer customizable citations and connections to large data aggregators.

Get Listed with Free Local Directories

You can also take care of some of the free ones first.
Once you’re verified for Google Business Profile you can import your business onto Bing as well with a few clicks.
Don’t forget to get listed on Yelp as well since Apple Map searches rely on data from Yelp. Facebook, X (Formerly Twitter), LinkedIn Business and Instagram also allow you to put your address.
YellowPages, Better Business Bureau, Nextdoor and Manta are some free ones to get listed on as well.

Paid Plumber Directories

Consider paid services for citations such as Angi’s List, HomeAdvisor, and your local Chamber of Commerce.

Put Your Address on Your Site

Place your address at the bottom of your footer exactly how it’s shown on Google and embed the map to help customers easily access leaving you a review.

3. Boost Your Reviews

Reviews not only enhance your credibility but also improve your SEO rankings. Here are some effective ways to gather more reviews:
  • Use Google’s Business Profile Manager to manage and respond to reviews.
  • Get a QR Code that uses a link from GBP to request a review and a Business Card or Fridge Magnet to leave for customers with your website on it.
  • Follow-Up Contact Requesting Feedback.
  • Email Signature with your website link and a link to leave a review.

4. Keyword Research

Understanding what potential customers search for helps tailor your website content to meet their needs. Effective keyword research is the foundation of successful SEO.

List Your Services

Start by making a comprehensive list of all the plumbing services you offer. Think about every specific service you provide, no matter how niche.
A detailed list might include: Drain unblocking, Burst pipe repair, Drain Cleaning, Toilet installation, Water heater repair, Sewer line inspection and repair.

Use Keyword Tools

Once you have your list of services, the next step is to use keyword research tools to find relevant keywords that potential customers are searching for.
Google Keyword Planner
Google Keyword Planner
Google’s Keyword Planner is an ultimate keyword research tool that’s free and can help you find keywords, helpful insights, and discover new keywords.

Enter Your Services

Discover New Keywords Google Keyword Planner
Input the list of services you created into the tool. For example, if you offer “drain cleaning” enter this term into the Keyword Planner Discover New Keywords followed by your target city.

Analyze Keyword Suggestions

The tool will generate a list of related keywords, showing their search volumes and competition levels. Look for keywords with a high search volume and low to medium competition. These are the sweet spots that can drive significant traffic to your site.

Include Local Geographic Modifiers

Add local modifiers to your keywords to target searches in your service area. For example, “drain cleaning near me” or “emergency plumber [your city].” This helps attract customers who are looking for services in specific locations.
Now I’ve found a low competition keyword that’s a longtail keyword (keyword phrase with 3+ words) “24 hour emergency plumber Atlanta”.
Check out Keyword Surfer from Matt Diggity to get even more keyword data for free. You can also see the estimated monthly traffic a website domain gets.

5. Website Content & Optimization

Plumber Website Example

Create Service Specific Pages

By creating dedicated, optimized pages for each service, you can attract more targeted traffic and convert visitors into customers. These pages not only improve your SEO but also provide valuable information to potential clients, helping them choose your services with confidence.

Unique Selling Points

Highlight what makes your service unique. This could be your experience, certifications, special equipment, or customer satisfaction guarantees.
Include positive reviews and testimonials from satisfied customers. This builds trust and credibility with potential clients.

Contact Page

Make it easy for visitors to get in touch with you. Throughout your site link to a contact page. Provide your phone number, email address, and a web form for inquiries with your address shown and your service area. Including a call-to-action (CTA) encourages potential customers to take the next step.

Craft Compelling Content

Each service page should clearly describe the service, its benefits, and why customers should choose you. Include certifications, unique selling points, and customer testimonials to build trust.
Create engaging and informative content such as blog posts, FAQs, and plumbing tips to attract and retain visitors. Demonstrate your expertise and authority with pictures from job sites and speak from first-hand knowledge.

6. Build a Strong Link Profile

Guest blogging and engaging in community participation are free ways to build high-quality backlinks and establish your authority in the plumbing industry.

Identify Target Blogs

Find blogs in the plumbing, home improvement, and DIY niches that accept guest posts. Look for blogs with a good reputation and engaged audiences. Use search queries like “plumbing blogs accepting guest posts” or “home improvement write for us.”
Reach out to the blog owners with well-crafted pitches. Propose topics that are relevant to their audience and showcase your expertise. Ensure your pitch is concise and highlights the value you can provide to their readers.
Write well-researched, informative, and engaging articles. Focus on providing valuable insights and practical advice. Include relevant keywords naturally and ensure the content aligns with the blog’s style and tone.
In your author bio, include a brief description of yourself and your plumbing business, along with a link back to your website. Some blogs may also allow you to include a link within the content itself. Ensure these links are relevant and add value to the article.

Join Relevant Communities

Participate in forums and online communities related to plumbing, home improvement, and DIY. Websites like Reddit, Quora, and specialized plumbing forums like PlumbingForums.com are great places to start.
Offer helpful and knowledgeable answers to questions. Avoid blatant self-promotion and focus on providing genuine value. Share your expertise and build a reputation as a helpful professional.

HARO (Help A Reporter Out)

HARO connects sources with journalists looking for expert quotes. This can lead to high-quality backlinks from reputable sites.
Sign up for a free HARO account as a source. You will receive daily emails with journalist requests categorized by industry. Plumbing-related requests might fall under Home & Garden.
Monitor the HARO emails for requests related to plumbing, home maintenance, or small business operations. Respond promptly with concise, informative answers. Highlight your expertise and provide useful insights.
When responding, be detailed and professional. Include your full name, title, business name, and a link to your website. Journalists are more likely to use your quotes if they are well-articulated and relevant to their article.

Replicate Competitors’ Links

Analyzing your competitors’ backlinks can help you discover new link-building opportunities.
Identify your top competitors by searching for your target keywords in Google. Note the websites that consistently appear at the top of the search results.
Use tools like SEMrush or SpyFu to analyze your competitors’ backlink profiles. Enter their domain into the tool to see a list of websites linking to them.
Assess the quality of these backlinks by looking at metrics like organic traffic. Focus on high-quality backlinks from reputable sites.
Look for backlinks that you can replicate. These might include mentions in articles. Reach out to these websites with a similar pitch to get your site linked as well.

Reclaim Lost Links

Reclaiming lost links involves identifying and fixing broken or redirected links pointing to your site.
Use tools like Ahrefs or Google Search Console to identify broken links pointing to your website. These tools can help you find 404 errors and other issues.
Identify links that are redirected to other pages or domains. Ensure that the redirects are still relevant and pointing to the correct pages.
Reach out to the webmasters of the sites linking to your broken URLs. Politely ask them to update the link to the correct page. Provide the exact URL to make it easier for them.
If you have moved content to a new URL, set up 301 redirects from the old URLs to the new ones. This ensures that any backlinks pointing to the old URL still pass on link equity to the new page.

7. Technical SEO & Website Performance

Technical SEO ensures that search engines can find, understand, and index your pages.

Plan Your Site Structure

Plumber SEO Site Structure Example
A well-organized site structure helps visitors navigate your website and allows Google to find all your pages.

Internal Links

Include relevant internal links (links on one page to another on your site) throughout pages to help users easily navigate to important pages.

Concise URL-friendly Slug

SEO Unfriendly URL Slug Example
When making slugs for URLs (characters at the end of the URL, shown above) make sure they’re short and to the point. It’s recommended to be under 70 characters total, that’s including the entire URL. However, it’s important to note that Google is known to truncate URLs depending on devices.
For instance, notice the cut-offs in the below image.
SEO Unfriendly URL Slug Example
With Yoast or Rankmath you’ll be able to see how your page will appear in SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).

Write Compelling Titles

Your titles should be engaging and accurately describe the content. Use power words and numbers to make your titles more compelling. For example, “10 Easy Tips for Fixing a Leaky Faucet” or “How to Unclog Any Drain in 5 Simple Steps.”
Aim to keep your titles 50 to 55 characters (580px length to be exact, which free meta length checkers can help you with) to ensure they are fully displayed in SERPs and not cut off.
For a blog post on drain cleaning, a compelling title could be: “How to Clean a Clogged Drain: 7 Effective Methods”
Google is known to automatically change the title of your page in search results if it doesn’t match relevance. Follow best title practices to influence the result.

Keep the Meta Descriptions Concise

Clearly summarize what the page is about. Include the most important points that users should know before clicking. For a drain cleaning service page, you might write: “Get expert drain cleaning services in [City]. Our plumbers are available 24/7 to handle any blockage. Call [number] for a free quote.”
Try to keep your meta descriptions concise and within the 160-character limit (920 pixels to be precise) to ensure the full text is visible.
Include your phone number in the meta description as this is clickable on mobile.

Use Clear Headings and Subheadings

Heading Tag Structure Example
Organize your content with clear headings (H1, H2, H3) and subheadings. This not only improves readability but also helps search engines understand the structure of your content.
Break down information into bullet points and numbered lists where appropriate. This makes your content more scannable and user-friendly.

Key Pages to Make

Home Page, About Us, Contact Us
Service Pages
Service Locations (Be careful on this one and follow Google’s guidelines on Doorways)
Service Location City Page
Blogs for Informational Articles and How-To’s

Create and Upload Your Sitemap

Install a Plugin like Yoast or Rankmath to give you some useful SEO tools and create a sitemap to submit to Google and Bing.

Use HTTPS

HTTPS is a secure way for visitors to access web pages. Check if your website uses HTTPS by looking for a lock icon in the browser’s search bar.

Monitor Your SEO Health

Regularly monitor your website’s SEO health using tools like Google Search Console. These tools can help you identify and fix common SEO issues. Key metrics to track include organic traffic, keyword performance, and site health score.

Responsive Design

Responsive design refers to a web design approach that makes web pages render well on a variety of devices and window or screen sizes. It ensures that your website looks and functions correctly on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

Optimize Images

Large images can slow down your website, leading to a poor user experience, especially on mobile devices with slower internet connections. Optimizing images ensures faster loading times, which can improve both user experience and SEO.
Use a site like TinyJPG to compress images for free.

Simple Layout

A simple, uncluttered layout improves user experience by making it easier for visitors to navigate your site and find the information they need. It also ensures that your site loads faster, as there are fewer elements to load. You can find highly optimized plumber templates that you can use with WordPress.

Click-to-Call Buttons

Click-to-call buttons are crucial for mobile users, allowing them to contact your business with a single tap. This convenience can increase conversion rates and improve customer satisfaction.

Advanced Technical SEO

If you’re savvy on the technical side you can use free diagnostic tools like webpagetest and Google’s PageSpeed Insights to get more details on how to improve your loading speed and other technical optimizations.
Another step is installing and configuring a free caching plugin like WP Super Cache.

Breadcrumbs

You can use breadcrumbs to help Google understand the hierarchy of your site and may help users on their journey through your site.

Local SEO Schema

Add Plumber schema to important pages like the home page, contact, and service pages. You can use Schemantra to create the code to place on your site for free.

8. SEO Content Marketing

Creating valuable content can attract traffic and customers from organic search.

Topic Keyword Research

Finding the right topics to write about is crucial for attracting organic traffic.
Begin with broad keywords related to plumbing, such as “leak repair,” “drain cleaning,” or “water heater maintenance.” Enter these into keyword research tools like Ahrefs Keywords Explorer, Google Keyword Planner, or SEMrush.
Use these tools to find related keywords and phrases that people are searching for. Look for questions and long-tail keywords (phrases with three or more words) that indicate specific user intents.
Instead of just “drain cleaning,” look for “how to clean a clogged drain” or “best drain cleaning services in [city].”
Evaluate the search volume and competition level for each keyword. Ideally, seek keywords with high search volume but low to medium competition. This increases the chances of ranking well without facing too much competition.
When reviewing these keywords go after transactional keywords as these will typically bring you more conversions. “Emergency plumber near me” is a transactional keyword because it has a higher likelihood of the potential customer seeking service. Compare this to an information keyword such as, “What’s the history of plumbing?”.
Analyze the search engine results pages (SERPs) for your target keywords to see what type of content is ranking.
Look for featured snippets, people also ask boxes, and top-ranking articles to understand the type of content Google favors. Keep in mind that when using standard browser settings you’ll see personalized results.
You can use tools like AnswerThePublic for free to find more of what people are asking about a given topic.

For Blogs Use Questions and Informational Keywords

Blogs focus on questions and informational keywords, such as “how-to” guides, tutorials, and tips. Good content written on this tends to attract more engagement and backlinks.

Publish Optimized Blog Posts

Analyze the top-ranking pages for your target keywords to understand the user intent behind the searches. Are people looking for how-to guides, detailed articles, or quick answers? Align your content with what users intend to find.
Ensure your content fully addresses the search query. If users are looking for a guide on fixing a leaky faucet, provide a step-by-step tutorial with images, videos, and troubleshooting tips.
Include Images and Videos
Use relevant images, infographics, and videos to enhance your content. Visual elements can help explain complex topics and keep readers engaged.
Having an embedded YouTube video with a person speaking on the topic or pointing out common plumbing parts can set you apart from many competitors.

9. Promote Your Content

Share your blog posts on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Tailor your posts to each platform’s audience and use engaging visuals and descriptions to attract attention.
Participate in relevant Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, and online communities related to plumbing and home improvement. Share your content when appropriate if it adds value to the discussion.

10. Tracking SEO Progress

Tracking your SEO efforts is essential to understanding what’s working and what needs improvement.

Google Business Profile Performance

Monitoring your Google Business Profile (GBP) performance is crucial for understanding how well your business is performing in local search results.

Check Profile Performance

The 10 commandments of LLM prompting - Completion by Smaug-70B
Out of all of these, remember #5 the most. If you're not in this situation, then something is not right with your workflow.

The Ten Commandments of LLM Prompting

In the rapidly evolving landscape of Large Language Models (LLMs), effective prompting has become an art form. As users, developers, and researchers continue to push the boundaries of what these models can do, it’s essential to understand the fundamental principles that govern their interactions. Here are the ten commandments of LLM prompting, guiding you towards more successful and insightful engagements with these powerful tools.

1. Garbage in, garbage out.

The quality of your input directly correlates with the quality of your output. Crafting well-defined, clear, and concise prompts is crucial to eliciting relevant and accurate responses from LLMs. Avoid ambiguity, ensure proper grammar, and be specific about what you’re asking or seeking.

2. The quality and correctness of responses are not only affected by the LLM’s training data and architecture but also by the user’s education and reasoning ability.

The effectiveness of an LLM interaction is a two-way street. Users must possess a certain level of domain knowledge to frame meaningful questions, understand the context, and critically evaluate the responses received. This symbiosis between human insight and AI capabilities is key to achieving desired outcomes.

3. LLMs don’t read minds and currently most don’t read your body language either.

LLMs operate solely on text-based inputs. Providing explicit cues through prompt engineering significantly enhances their ability to understand your intent and deliver targeted results. This includes specifying formats, providing examples, or outlining the expected tone and style.

4. Effort must be committed by both parties, or all parties involved.

The success of an LLM interaction is not solely dependent on the model’s capabilities but also on the user’s willingness to invest time and effort into crafting effective prompts, understanding the context, and refining their approach based on feedback. A collaborative mindset yields better results.

5. It didn’t get dumber; you got more ambitious.

As users become more familiar with LLMs, they often attempt increasingly complex tasks or expect more sophisticated responses. This shift in ambition can sometimes lead to a perceived decrease in performance. Recognize that the model’s capabilities haven’t diminished; your expectations have simply evolved.

6. Be aware of your biases and assumptions.

The prompts you design and the questions you ask are inherently influenced by your own perspectives, experiences, and biases. Acknowledge these factors to ensure that they do not inadvertently skew the results or limit the potential insights gained from LLM interactions.

7. Context is king.

Providing relevant context significantly enhances an LLM’s ability to understand the task at hand. This includes background information, specific requirements, and any constraints that might apply. The more informed the model, the better it can tailor its response.

8. Feedback is a two-way street.

LLMs learn from feedback, but users also gain valuable insights by analyzing the responses they receive. Engage in an iterative process of refinement, adjusting your prompts based on the output and refining your understanding of what works best for each specific task or model.

9. Understand the limitations.

Each LLM has its strengths and weaknesses, stemming from its training data, architecture, and design objectives. Recognize these limitations to set realistic expectations and avoid tasks that are beyond their capabilities.

10. Practice makes perfect.

Effective prompting is a skill that develops over time with practice, patience, and persistence. Experiment with different approaches, learn from successes and failures, and continually refine your techniques to maximize the potential of LLMs in your work or projects.
If you are new to this and want to improve the responses from local LLMs. Append the following text above your prompt and send the entire thing to the LLM each turn. For the more advanced users, this can simply be a system prompt if you know how to modify the template in your favorite LLM frontend:
Respond to each query using the following process to reason through to the most insightful answer: First, carefully analyze the question to identify the key pieces of information required to answer it comprehensively. Break the question down into its core components. For each component of the question, brainstorm several relevant ideas, facts, and perspectives that could help address that part of the query. Consider the question from multiple angles. Critically evaluate each of those ideas you generated. Assess how directly relevant they are to the question, how logical and well-supported they are, and how clearly they convey key points. Aim to hone in on the strongest and mostpertinent thoughts. Take the most promising ideas and try to combine them into a coherent line of reasoning that flows logically from one point to the next in order to address the original question. See if you can construct a compelling argument orexplanation. If your current line of reasoning doesn't fully address all aspects of the original question in a satisfactory way, continue to iteratively explore other possible angles by swapping in alternative ideas and seeing if they allow you tobuild a stronger overall case. As you work through the above process, make a point to capture your thought process and explain the reasoning behind why you selected or discarded certain ideas. Highlight the relative strengths and flaws in different possible arguments.Make your reasoning transparent. After exploring multiple possible thought paths, integrating the strongest arguments, and explaining your reasoning along the way, pull everything together into a clear, concise, and complete final response that directly addresses theoriginal query. Throughout your response, weave in relevant parts of your intermediate reasoning and thought process. Use natural language to convey your train of thought in a conversational tone. Focus on clearly explaining insights and conclusionsrather than mechanically labeling each step. The goal is to use a tree-like process to explore multiple potential angles, rigorously evaluate and select the most promising and relevant ideas, iteratively build strong lines of reasoning, and ultimately synthesize key points into aninsightful, well-reasoned, and accessible final answer. Always end your response asking if there is anything else you can help with.
Here is an example, using the riddle posted in another thread today. I intentionally send the CoT prompt with each turn to demonstrate the jank way of doing it, but setting a system prompt works just as well:

TLDR: The cat is dead.

Story Atmosphere Lore – 80/100

In Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Senua traverses Midgard, seeking the gates of Hel to retrieve her lost love, Dillion's soul. The narrative unfolds with impeccable pacing, blending Senua's personal journey with Norse mythology, enriched by Lorestones strategically placed throughout the environment. These stones deepen the connection to Senua's narrative and unveil captivating tales of Norse myths through the compelling narration of Druth. From the eerie Valravyn's Keep to the ominous Hela's Sanctum, the game's atmospheric prowess is palpable, keeping players consistently on edge.

Gameplay – 85/100

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice brings a unique collection of gameplay elements, fusing exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving into the very fabric of the protagonist's struggle with psychosis. As players guide Senua, a Pict warrior navigating Norse-inspired landscapes, they confront both tangible adversaries and the haunting echoes of Senua's own mind. The combat system, visually appealing with its fluid movements and choreography, leans towards accessibility rather than a formidable challenge. While the lack of substantial adversaries may leave some yearning for more complexity, the game compensates with a masterful interplay between mechanics and narrative. Voices guide or torment, visions blur the lines of reality, and environmental puzzles evoke a constant sense of disquiet. This immerses players in Senua's perilous odyssey, offering not just a gaming experience but an exploration of mental illness.

Action Adventure Genre: 75/100

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice merges action and adventure elements in a unique but linear path, weaving its lengthy narrative-driven treks with sudden bursts of combat. This design choice focuses on narrative immersion over complex battle mechanics. The adventure component enriches the experience through the exploration of visually stunning environments and the discovery of hidden lore, distinguishing Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice within the action-adventure genre by prioritizing storytelling and atmospheric depth.

Hack-and-Slash Genre: 82/100

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice offers ample opportunities for engaging in hack-and-slash combat, inviting players to immerse themselves fully in Senua's battle-laden journey to Hel. Combat encounters, emerging spontaneously throughout the narrative, encourage a straightforward hack-and-slash approach, where strategic depth and methodical planning take a backseat to immediate action. However, the combat system introduces a rhythmic aspect, centering around the player's ability to parry and counterattack seamlessly. This mechanic infuses a degree of finesse into the battles, ensuring a fluid and enjoyable experience without imposing excessive difficulty. Overall, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice crafts a hack-and-slash experience that is both accessible and satisfying, favoring a smooth, rhythmic combat flow that complements its deeply immersive narrative.

Puzzle Genre: 80/100

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice presents players with diverse puzzles, ranging from those based on perspective hide-and-seek styles to environmental manipulation puzzles that transform as you traverse through specific arches. This variety ensures that the puzzle-solving experience remains fresh, avoiding any sense of repetition. However, the game sometimes withholds direct instructions for puzzle completion, leading to moments of confusion that momentarily disrupt an otherwise excellently crafted puzzle aspect. This approach to puzzle design, while challenging, adds depth to the game's narrative and thematic exploration, making the process of solving them not just a test of logic but a deeper dive into Senua's journey.

Graphics/Art Design - 85/100

In the realm of visual storytelling, Ninja Theory's Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice stands as a consummate achievement, leveraging Unreal Engine 4 to redefine the boundaries of gaming graphics. The protagonist, Senua, captivates with an unprecedented level of emotional depth, achieved through the application of photogrammetry, elevating her character to an unparalleled level of realism. The meticulously designed environments, inspired by Norse and Celtic mythology and enveloped in a dark and gritty realism, immerse players in a visually stunning and authentic world. Approaching its seventh anniversary, Hellblade remains a testament to enduring quality, boasting meticulous attention to detail, dynamic lighting, and atmospheric effects. The game solidifies its status as a timeless visual masterpiece, establishing a definitive benchmark for unparalleled graphics and art design within the gaming landscape.

Music and Audio – 80/100

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice boasts an exemplary sound design, skillfully enveloping players in the nuanced atmospherics of the game. Throughout the gameplay, the convincingly thunderous in-game sounds evoke realism and prompt real-world reactions, exemplified by the player checking for an impending storm. The dynamic voices accompanying Senua's journey are a highlight, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail as they seamlessly shift in volume, distance, and tone, ensuring a consistently engaging experience. However, the game takes a more restrained approach on the musical front. While the concluding piece aligns aptly with the overall mood, the deliberate and limited use of music becomes apparent. This nuanced strategy, marked by the absence of a constant musical backdrop, introduces a layer of realism, providing a unique and immersive auditory experience that harmonizes with the game's world-building elements.

Replayability – 75/100

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, while a masterclass in storytelling and atmospheric gameplay, falls short in terms of replayability. The game lacks dynamic elements that would differentiate each playthrough, leaving subsequent experiences akin to retracing well-trodden paths. However, for those drawn to the rich lore of its world, a second playthrough or meticulous exploration using chapter select becomes a viable endeavor. Delving into the intricate narratives scattered across the game in the form of lorestones provides an avenue for deeper engagement, offering players an opportunity to unearth hidden details and achieve a comprehensive understanding of the profound mythos woven into the fabric of Senua's haunting journey. While the lack of varied outcomes may deter some seeking replay value, the allure of uncovering the world's hidden stories provides an alternative incentive for those willing to embrace a more lore-centric replay.

Fun Factor – 75/100

Is Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice an enjoyable experience? Certainly, but with a caveat. The game's appeal doesn't neatly fit into the conventional notion of a "fun game" defined by light-hearted escapades and jubilant victories. Instead, its allure lies in the mastery of exceptional artistic and narrative directions. The fluidity of transitioning between enemies during combat is undeniably satisfying, yet the pervasive dark tone of the game occasionally prompts a yearning for moments of respite. Not every narrative demands a happy ending, but the relentless somberness of Hellblade can be draining, making the journey through its demoralizing storyline and, at times, convoluted narrative pieces an emotionally taxing endeavor. However, within this complexity, the stunning visuals, rich narrative, and unique gameplay elements create a captivating experience that transcends the traditional bounds of "fun," ensnaring players in a gripping narrative landscape that, despite its challenges, keeps them hooked from the very beginning.

Technical Performance – 75/100

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice demonstrated a commendable level of technical proficiency with a generally smooth performance. The only noticeable glitch occurred during the Trials of Odin, particularly within the Swamp Shard Trial, where Senua's legs temporarily froze for the first five steps upon respawning. Fortunately, this glitch was isolated and didn't recur throughout the rest of my playthrough, minimizing its impact on the overall experience. Notably, the game's frame rate deserves commendation for its consistency, contributing to a visually immersive and fluid gaming experience. The exceptional frame rate significantly enhanced the overall technical performance, allowing players to engage with the intricacies of Senua's journey without disruption.

Creative Review

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is well-known for its lifelike facial animations and portrayal of psychosis, elements I knew of only by reputation before embarking on my own journey into its depths. My journey into Hel began with limited knowledge beyond these acclaimed aspects, but Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is much more than that. From the moment I navigated Senua’s boat through the misty waters toward the Norse lands, the game hooked me into its narrative. The immediate introduction to Senua’s psychosis, while a bit unnerving, really set the tone for the entire game. This beginning boat ride allowed me to get acclimated to these new voices, which I greatly appreciated. I was definitely jarred by their introduction and realism. The binaural audio the game uses made me honestly believe these voices were in my own head.
In Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, you are constantly overcoming obstacles, with each new challenge placed just as you're about to progress through the narrative. From the moment you get off the boat, your initial goal is simply to keep moving forward. This task highlights Senua's unique predicament—she hears voices that others do not, marking her as different in a world that often shuns the unusual, whether it's a blessing or a curse. This sense of isolation continues until you reach the end of the swamp, where Senua's true mission is revealed: to journey to Hel and retrieve her beloved Dillion. Shortly thereafter, you face your first major puzzle: a door marked with a Nordic symbol that must be aligned with similar symbols in the environment, often formed by shadows. This game mechanic, which uses the game's interaction of lights and shadows, adds depth to the gameplay without requiring you to move a bunch of objects around. Initially, I struggled to find the symbols at this specific door, unsure of how they would look in my surroundings. However, once I located the first one, I had little trouble with similar puzzles I would see afterward. Around the door, you encounter Druth, a Nordic man whose stories, discovered mostly at lorestones, enrich the journey and deepen the game’s mythology and lore. Once unlocked, the path leads to the gate to Helheim, marking the first milestone on Senua’s quest to rescue Dillion.
As I approached the gate to Helheim, I quickly dispatched the initial enemies, only to be overwhelmed by a wave of phantoms where I experienced my first defeat—a defeat that all players will experience at this point. Upon resurrecting, the game introduces a crucial mechanic: each death allows "the Darkness" to spread further over Senua, threatening her existence with permanent death if it entirely takes over her. This not only heightens the stakes but also instills a sense of dread at the thought of losing all progress after hours of gameplay. Despite this fear, the path to Helheim remains locked, requiring the defeat of both Surtr and Valravyn to proceed. The journey to these bosses is straightforward, with the occasional introduction of a lorestone or two that offer brief moments of exploration for the player. Along the way, the initially unsettling voices in Senua's head begin to aid in combat, often alerting me to blind-siding attacks and making it easier to evade any incoming danger around me. While the boss fights with Valravyn and Surtr are not overly difficult, they present unique challenges that distinguish them from regular enemies, although this contrast tends to highlight the ease of regular encounters more than the complexity of the boss battles.
As I retraced my steps to the gate of Helheim, I was struck by the breathtaking environment around me. Having cleared all obstacles along the path during my journey to the lairs, I could now fully immerse myself in the surroundings. The far-off visuals were stunning, and the environmental sounds so realistic that, on several occasions, I found myself checking outside my own window to see if the thunder was real or just in Senua’s world. Upon my return to the gate, it unlocked, and I proceeded onto the Bridge to Helheim, which was covered with enemies that seemed endless. Yet, Senua and I persevered, reaching a door halfway across the bridge. Solving another Nordic symbol puzzle, we prepared to rescue Dillion, but Hela, the goddess of the underworld, had other plans. Bursting through the door, her immense presence was overpowering, and in a dramatic confrontation, she threw us off the bridge to Shipwreck Shore. Surviving an encounter with a goddess left me both relieved and daunted, the only thought occupying my mind being, “How on earth am I supposed to beat that?”
The daunting task of defeating Hela loomed large in Senua’s mind, especially after her sword snapped in half during the skirmish on the bridge. As Senua regained her composure, a shining blue light in the distance caught my attention. Believing the light to be Dillion, as his voice seemed to carry from that direction, Senua was driven by hope to follow the light, thinking we might find him and abandon the tall order of defeating Hela eventually. However, the light instead led us to a giant tree with a sword embedded in it, reminiscent of Arthur’s legendary sword in the stone. Attempts to pull the sword were to no avail; it became clear that we needed to complete specific trials before claiming it. Around the tree, several lorestones glowed blue instead of the usual red, signaling the starting points of these new challenges laid before us. Druth’s voice returned to inform us that we must endure four trials of Odin to earn the right to wield the sword and continue our journey back to the entrance to Heheiml, each trial a challenge to test Senua’s resolve and a crucial part of her quest to confront Hela once again.
Each trial of Odin posed a distinct challenge, from navigating a seemingly endless labyrinth to solving intricate Nordic symbol puzzles to scale a tower and even following Dillion’s voice through a pitch-black maze teeming with monsters, using illusion gates that altered the environment. As Senua overcame these obstacles, her confidence grew. This is reflected mainly in the transformation of the voices in her head from doubters to cheerleaders. This change was most noticeable when we finally pulled the sword, Gramr, from the tree. I expected this to be a moment of triumph, something that would raise Senua’s spirits. However, the victory was short-lived as removing the sword unexpectedly transported us to the Sea of Corpses—a disturbingly literal name, where relentless waves of enemies attacked Senua in one of the game's longest combat sequences. Despite the unsettling but visually stunning setting, the fluidity and satisfaction of the combat system made this section a highlight, as I found myself wishing for more enemies to extend the onslaught. After defeating the last of the foes, we found a path out of the Sea of Corpses, now fully prepared and eager for a second attempt to breach the gates of Helheim, armed with newfound resolve and the voices of encouragement firmly on our side.
The bridge to Helheim, initially our intended path, was now broken from our confrontation with Hela. After searching, however, I soon found an alternative route that introduced us to Fenrir, a hound of Hel bent on our destruction. Fortunately for us, Fenrir could only attack in complete darkness, making the brazier near the newly found door an essential ally. As we ventured deeper into a cave on the verge of Helheim, we encountered numerous moments where water extinguished our only light, forcing us to sprint to the next flame or beam of light. This stretch, loaded with danger, accounted for most of my deaths, each one pushing me closer to a "Game Over" screen as darkness threatened to consume Senua. Despite the challenges and losing Dillion’s head—which I had carried from the start—I managed to retrieve it after navigating more dark patches. The final part of our journey through this cave was the intense showdown with Fenrir, who killed me twice, leaving me feeling powerless until, on my third attempt, I finally learned his attack pattern. With improved dodging, I defeated Fenrir and was finally ready to defeat Hela.
We finally reached the final room, only to be greeted by a mysterious portal. With no indication of where it might lead, I stepped through and found myself transported directly into Hela's Sanctum, the heart of Hel. There, before me, stood Hela, the goddess responsible for taking Dillion from me. The sanctum stretched out as an ever-evolving landscape, begging me to forge ahead. As we advanced, we faced and overcame a relentless onslaught of enemies spawned by Hela. Each step brought us closer until, at last, we stood before her, ready to confront the source of our journey's sorrow. It is here we reach the conclusion.
The ending of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is confusing, impactful, and unconventional. Without delving into spoilers, it's the kind of finale that will have you in a search bar asking, "What does the ending mean?"—a testament to its complexity and depth, which I found myself doing almost immediately. This isn't a critique of the game's clarity but rather an acknowledgment of the theories it inspires about its deeper meanings. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice stands as a remarkable achievement by Ninja Theory, leaving me not only satisfied but eagerly anticipating what they might explore in a sequel.

Score Summary: 79/100

From the haunting portrayal of Senua's psychosis to the unexpected twist in Helheim, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice stands out as a unique game that everyone should play. With accessible mechanics, stunning design, and enduring appeal, this dark odyssey remains captivating seven years after its release. Seamlessly blending narrative and gameplay, Hellblade offers an immersive experience that continues to resonate and captivate, solidifying it is truly deserving of a sequel.
