What I Want
I want to create a reproducible report (Quarto PDF) on some evaluation survey data collected from a series of training sessions (i.e., 101 through 105) across multiple cohorts (A through E). The structure of the report should be:

1. Introduction
2. Methods
3. Results
   1. Cohort A
      1. Session 101
      2. Session 102
      3. Etc
   2. Cohort B
      1. Session 101
      2. Session 102
      3. Etc
   3. Etc.
4. Conclusion

The subsection for each session follows the same pattern (one figure and one table regarding instructors, one figure and one table regarding learning objectives, one figure and one table regarding overall experience, and verbatim responses to open-ended items).
What I've Done
I've run all analyses, created the figures/tables, and stored them in nested lists. So for example, the instructor plot for Session 102 in Cohort A is stored in instruct_plots$\A`$`102`.`
For similar reports, I've created a template .Rmd "session" doc, then used pmap() to loop over the template for each session, following this example. The code looks like this:

The template then pipes the arguments to knit_expand() allowing me to give chunks unique names (important for cross-referencing). The beginning of the section template .Rmd looks like this:

The Problem
I need a way to loop the rendering of the session template across cohorts; in other words, to somehow have sessions nested within cohorts. The only content I need at the cohort level is a level-two heading and a \clearpage command. I've tried different combinations of looping with knit_expand(), rmarkdown::render(), and knitr::knit_child(), but I can't seem to achieve this nesting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated; happy to provide more details as needed!

I've just completed my re-read of all of Stormlight in anticipation of the WaT coming out later this year. To say I'm excited for the new book would be an understatement.
Throughout my time reading Sanderson's works (Stormlight first then Mistborn Era 1+2, then everything else), I had largely considered Rhythm to be the weakest of the Stormlight series, with rating being something like Oathbringer as a 9.5, WoK a 9, Words of Radiance 8, Rhythm 7.
On my re-read however my view of Rhythm improved markedly and several of the issues I had originally seemed to fall away:

1. Kaladin repeats his storyline from the first two books.
2. Navani's storyline with Raboniel felt like lore dumping instead of the slow trickle discovery that worked so well in the Way of Kings
3. Venli's flashbacks are so boring that Eshonai actually just takes them over.
4. Szeth straight up murdering Taravangian is just written off by Dalinar, etc.
5. Kal's big 4th ideal moment is so convoluted they need to bring in time-slowing, speaking across continents and is separated by so many other moments that it loses all tension of Kal falling after Lirin

1st: The first was my biggest complaint. I had always thought Kaladin just replays his arc from the first novels, but on re-read, he is actually learning to grow beyond his old coping mechanism: his men and Bridge 4. Needing to fight and protect them was the identity he created to deal with being enslaved and watching of his squad being murdered by Amaram, but he's growing past that now.
2nd: On re-read I really really appreciated the Navani-Raboniel relationship more and feel like I glossed over this too fast in my first read. Raboniel ends up being a great character and a very interesting looking at someone utterly desperate to escape the prison of a life she is placed in by this eternal war. Navani's appreciation for her near the end after ending her daughter's life and her scenes with Moash were after all.
3rd: Conversely, this one seemed to be an even stronger take than before. Venli's chapters really just felt insufferable to me. I realize her story is about the awful things that happen with a literal child being forced to be responsible for the survival of her people, but her storyline just doesn't feel believable, especially the scenes in Kholinar where she just does everyone's bidding while igniting a war that effectively dooms multiple nations.
4th: This one....really doesn't make sense to me. I hope this is something addressed in WaT, but Szeth walked into Taravangian's room and just murdered a prisoner. We the reader know that Taravangian escaped and took up the shard of Odium, so never actually died....but Dalinar in the Radiants legitimately thing he murdered an elderly prisoner in cold blood with no authorization or process of justice. Dalinar immediately sending him on a mission to Shinovar with Kaladin seems insane given these circumstances.
5th: On re-read I liked this scene much more than I did in my original read, but I feel like it was just overdone so much. Dalinar's forgiveness scene in Oathbringer I think was the perfect template for Kaladin falling through the storm. It would have been better for him as a character to overcome his unwillingness to say the Fourth Ideal on his own, but even if he needed Dalinar to help him, then it would have been better to keep his entire falling plot within a single chapter instead of chopping it up so much. The constant jump cuts really ruined the tension of his fall and his return.
That was really just a stream of consciousness on the books as I finished them, but a few theories I have:

1. Kaladin is re-walking the same paths that Tanavast walked long in the past. In WoKs Kaladin almost ends his life at the HONOR chasm, presumably where Honor was splintered. The Stormfather later tells Dalinar that Tanavast loved humans and died protecting them. My guess would be Tanavast made a promise to protect both the Singers and the Humans, and was torn apart trying to honor both of those promises much like Kal was during WoR trying to protect Elhokar while also agreeing to help his murderers. More on this right below.
2. In Mistborn era 1, we are continually led to believe Vin will be the Hero of Ages, but in the end Sazed takes up both shards to form Harmony. Scadrial at the time was plagued by so many environmental disasters that the person to take up the power of the shards needed to be wise enough to use the power to remake the world itself: a task that Vin would have been incredibly ill suited for. I think a story conclusion is very similar in Stormlight, the true problem Roshar faces is the cycle of eternal war that destroys the planet and its people of both Singer and human descent. The person to eventually take up Honor / Odium / Cultivation etc. must be someone who can legitimately bring an end to the war and find a way to peacefully coexist. Kal so far seems like the best example, Dalinar is intent on leading the Radiants as a military force to oppose Odium directly, while Kal has had significant time with the Singers and humans of every kind, and he sees them as no different from each other.
3. Odium's offer to Dalinar near the end of the book, where the contest of champions is hashed out seems to have some spoilers: Odium: "Though I will be able to focus my attentions on sending agents to the rest of the Cosmere, using what I've conquered here as enough for now." as an addendum to the terms Dalinar demands if he wins. In Mistborn Era 2 we see two groups that are agents of Odium (the Skybreakers and the Iriali) operating on Scadrial. This seems like it indicates that Dalianr will be victorious and Odium will focus on sending agents to other planets and systems.
4. Dalinar: "I intend to be my own champion, I'll have died if you win." Odium "Yesssss, you will have. And you will give your soul to me. You Dalinar will join the Fused. You will become immortal." Human Fused are confirmed then. Who do we know wanted to become immortal and was generally a huge asshole who caused most of these problems? Gavilar. My pet theory is Gavilar will be Odium's champion when it is revealed that Odium made him a Fused after Szeth killed him. Gavilar being Odium's champion is a great explanation for why we start every single book looking at Gavilar through a different perspective in the prologues and will be a great emotional moment for Dalinar to face off against Gavilar one final time. No one else seems like it will have the same emotional weight as Gavilar, bringing a random Fused we've never heard of to get stomped by Dalinar would be anti-climatic while Gavilar could be an excellent twist for the series with lots of pontential foresadowing left to us in the prologues.

Monster wall of text, but just tons of thoughts as I just finished the novels again yesterday.

Many AI tools are designed to include SEO best practices, such as keyword usage and structure, improving your initial search engine rankings. The short-term effects allow you to see results of larger KW capture in a shorter period of time.
Considerations and Best Practices:
Quality Control:
Ensure that the AI-generated content is reviewed for accuracy, relevance, and tone. AI content can sometimes lack the nuance and depth that human-written content provides. Although AI has the ability to drastically shorten some of the time associated with writing copy, revision-related resources should remain about the same. Even with AI it is always necessary to fine-tooth comb all copy.
Uniqueness and Originality:
AI tools might produce content that is too similar to existing web pages, which can hurt your SEO. Make sure to use tools that emphasize unique content generation. Utilizing some complex multi-tool approaches can produce uniqueness of content in a very short amount of time. Generally, I opt for Super-scripting 4oChatGPT (Push) to Claude for revision.
User Experience:
Content should not only be SEO-friendly but also engaging and valuable to your audience. AI-generated content can sometimes be too generic. The right term for preconditions in super scripting is: "Burstiness" Milly's secret word .... shhhhh
Regular Updates: Have a structured plan to manually review and update the content. This can help in adding a personal touch, ensuring relevance, and maintaining high quality over time. Eventually, the AI-generated content needs some manual edits. Most SEOs are kidding themselves if they think that they are a head of Google (+ the other search engines curves). It is only a matter of time before the lag catches up to you and the new Algo update comes out.
Compliance with Search Engine Guidelines:
Ensure the AI-generated content adheres to Google’s guidelines, avoiding keyword stuffing and ensuring content is useful and informative. This can be easily accomplished through proper scripting but also must be revised. We have learned its not perfect.
Structured Plan for Manual Changes:
Set a Timeline:
Define specific periods when the AI-generated content will be reviewed and revised by human writers. It is critical to have effective timelines for this and a strategy that marches in lockstep with any new AI content that is going up.
Prioritize Content:
Start with the most critical pages (e.g., homepage, service pages) and gradually move to less critical ones. For Fast and Loose projects this is true, if we are talking blog-related content, just start with the highest traffic/value indicators.
Monitor Performance: Use analytics to track how the AI-generated content performs in terms of user engagement and SEO. Adjust the manual revision plan based on this data. It is important to closely track the performance of AI vs. HUMAN copy and content. I have found strange anomalies where AI will perform better than my copy (I might be bad at writing copy) even after the fact of the manual corrections.
Incorporate Feedback:
Gather user feedback on the content to understand areas that need improvement and to guide the manual editing process. I have found that there are subtle ways to do this, that also crowdsource activity and TOP (Time on page) metrics for certain pages. Good to build out in a template, will pull good data.
Continuous Improvement:
Treat content as a living asset that needs regular updates to stay relevant and effective. This is true always. We all know this.
By following this approach, you can leverage the benefits of AI-generated content while keeping long-term quality and effectiveness through manual revisions and human work.

The v0.13.0-alpha release significantly improves federated query performance and efficiency with Query Push-Down. Query push-down allows SQL queries to be directly executed by underlying data sources, such as joining tables using the same data connector. Query push-down is supported for all SQL-based and Arrow Flight data connectors. Additionally, runtime metrics, including query duration, collected and accessed in the spice.runtime.metrics table. This release also includes a new FTP/SFTP data connector and improved CSV support for the S3 data connector.

For the benefit of the group, I wanted to share some feature requests I recently submitted to the RM Team:

• The ability to reassign page templates in bulk. That is, in the multipage view, be able to select two or more pages and to then reassign a new template.
• Provide the ability to choose a default sort order for Tags other than "Last Modified." There is a setting under Tags that allows for a sort order change, but it only offers the default value of "Last Modified."
• Allow us to assign one or more Tag(s) to a notebook under Notebook Settings, and that these Tags will then be automatically added to each page in that Notebook.
• Provide the ability to select a word on a page, then long press to bring up a context menu. From there, offer the ability to turn that word into a Tag.

I am still hoping for increased capability with shapes.

Is there an option to install/download that exact one, or how to I get it to look like that?

I woke up to seagulls this morning, I really like the sound of them. I mean they don’t make pretty sounds, nor is it relaxing, but it feels like a comforting noise I guess? I think because I like being by the sea. I’m not sure. It was nice though. I love living by the sea, like I hear ship horns and seagulls and all of that. It makes me forever paranoid of tsunamis though. I think I’d like to live in a little seaside town with my honey, but I also don’t because then I couldn’t have the garden of my dreams nor would I have the countryside lifestyle I want. I don’t really know what I want. I don’t think I have enough money to be all that picky anyway.
I kind of woke up with that pit in my stomach feeling today. I don’t like how our calls were last night, either one of them. The first I felt like he didn’t want to talk to me and the second it was me being like that to him. I didn’t mean to make it come across that way, but I think he just caught me out when I was mid-deep sleep? I couldn’t wake up or focus and idk. Normally I’m fine to wake up though? And I love his night time calls, to know he’s thinking about me makes me feel so warm inside. It feels weird to think I ever cross his mind when we aren’t in an active conversation, I guess that comes back to the self esteem thing and feeling unworthy of being a thought in his mind, not feeling important enough, or something. But in that second call, I guess I didn’t like that he got me off the phone earlier because he was so sleepy, but then it turned out he was still up and about two hours later? It made me feel like he lied about being tired to get rid of me. I don’t think that was the case, but it’s how it made me feel in the moment. Anyway I woke up feeling uneasy, I felt okay but a little uneasy so I made sure to apologise. I think as well because I fell asleep feeling a little uneasy, it felt like he rushed me off the phone or like I was boring him to death or something. But it made me think about how it’s only 9pm where he is, and that he could quite easily have someone come over around that time. I don’t believe he would do that, but it scares me all the same. The way in which he could crush me into nothing is a little frightening sometimes, it really feels like I’ve just laid out my sad little heart out there for him to stomp all over if he so wishes to do so. I know if he did end things I would be okay, I think, but I can’t say I don’t worry about how it would affect my mental health and “recovery” - how far would it set me back? But also that’s not on him at all, and I’m never ever going to imply as such to him. He ought to make decisions based on what he wants and is best for him. Anyway it’s fine and we talked this morning and nothing has changed for him either, we both still want each other and this so it doesn’t even matter. I still feel bad about how I made him feel. I’m really glad, even though I made him feel bad which I wish I hadn’t, but sometimes it really helps to have him say he still wants this. I know his actions speak louder than words, but sometimes I need the words too. And so him saying “I’m still the same” was really reassuring and made me feel so lovey.
I’ve made a hair appointment, for end of June. I kind of wanted it early June as my hair is annoying the f out of me now, but her first available slot is end of June sooo I guess it still works out well. It gives me five weeks to continue growing out my layers so that we can start afresh. I’m going to get my face framies cut shorter this time as they grow out so quickly. I think otherwise I’ll get very subtle layering, enough to add some movement and help it air dry nicely, but I want the ends as thick as possible too. I’ll get a general root touch up to darken them up a little, and then a tonegloss for the lengths to cool down the warmth a little and darken it up ever so slightly. And then I’ve booked in for a full on olaplex treatment, so that will be nice. I am all about my hair health this year. I always have been but now even more so.
It’s so autumnal today. I really want to watch my favourite cosy romcoms, their autumn scenes are always my most absolute favourite. And winter I suppose. Basically Meg Ryan in autumn is my favourite thing and comforts me to no end.
I think I assume that if I know something then everyone else must know it too, so when they don’t I find it baffling that they don’t know. I guess because I consider myself thicker than a brick and everyone else smarter than I am, so I’d say in the team quiz no one knows the answer I start thinking how do you not know this, but that’s unfair of me and I’m making an assumption based on my low self esteem. But also I am as dumb as a rock so I mean there’s low self esteem and then there’s self awareness. But I just assume that if I know something, then it therefore must be as widely known as 2+2=4.
I’m wearing my Mon Guerlain perfume today, I quite like it, I guess I liked it a fair but considering I seem to have both a bottle of the edp and edt? I think this was during lockdown. Anyway I never wear it but I am today as it’s quite a warm scent, it’s like a warm vanilla but with a touch of lavender? Barely any lavender though, just a teeny tiny little bit. I just googled and that’s exactly what it is so yay me! Except it’s blatantly obvious so perhaps I’ll calm down on the self celebrations. Anyway it’s not one I’d replace but I do like it I suppose. It feels a little mature, not in an older woman way but in a mid-40s way. I read a comment and it said that it gives wife-and-adoring-mother with a wealthy husband, who’s just kissed her children goodnight before sweeping off in her furs to dinner and the opera. It’s classy and elegant, but with something warm and motherly to it and I get that too. Like the mama in Peter Pan! Anyway I’m a little ways off that stage of my life. But it’s a nice wfh scent I suppose. Most of my perfumes are just wfh/chill at home ones now. I wear perfume everyday, I’d say that’s silly but a) Andy tends to too and anything he does that I do makes me feel more assured it’s okay, b) I have a lottttt to get through and c) even if I didn’t have a lottttt to get through I still would because I just like to feel pretty. I may be as ugly as a troll but I will still be presentable enough. Not nicely, but perfume, groomed brows, glowy skin/skincare, my cutie lil diamond studs, brushed hair etc. Except I like a lived in look, I don’t like to look super prim and proper I prefer more bedheady hair and to look like I don’t care an awful lot, but in a nonchalant Kate Moss way not a get wrecked Adam Sandler way. Except I think Adam Sandler is the better of the two - I read he still has a regular-ish house? Then again it was the internet and I’m as gullible as… idk something gullible. That’s what I adore about Andy, he will do his own research and not believe anything outright, he’ll question it and all of that. Whereas I can just be like woowwwww crazy and then move on. There are many ways I’d like to be more like him, I don’t want to be like him but I just want to be better and he’s better so idk. He seems a little paranoid I’ll be like his ex who basically tried to become the tweedle dum to his tweedle dee, but I mean that’s never going to happen? I like to try things he likes, for example snacks and drinks and things. And if he says he enjoys using something and recommends it, ie his mouse, then I take his recommendations seriously. But I’m never going to dress or act like him, I mean I adore him but I don’t want to be a man…? I like being girly and different from him! But I just mean I like how he approaches things, I like how he handles disagreements or thinks about new information - they’re things I want to kind of learn from him. Not in a way where I’d ask because that makes it weirder. Idk. This whole thing is weird. I just admire him. Now I sound like some kinda single white female… which I am… oh god.
Todays been fine overall. I did something new workwise, getting into LOEs for H&S speeding stuff, I had a call with a manager about one of his direct reports this morning and he was like I mean is it that bad and I had to tell a 40 something grown man that it is indeed bad to speed 28km over the speed limit. For any reason. And in a branded vehicle at that. Anyway so then I had to do the letter which was fine but it’s such a confusing template so I suggested some alterations to the Head of and she said they were excellent and she would change the template letter to include my suggestions, so that made me feel good. I enjoy that part of my work, I think I like processes and policies and all of that stuff. Idk why someone with social anxiety thought it would be smart to get into PEOPLE advisory. But like I said, as thick as a brick.
I had such a fun chat with him this evening, he makes me all giggly and silly and I hate myself for saying that. The word giggle is so bleh. I mean it’s a cute word but it feels wrong to say for whatever reason. It’s like when people say “hehe” in texts or whatever, it makes me feel gross even though I don’t even mind it. I think in the right context from the right person it’s fine, but I’ve never experienced that so idk. Now I’m thinking of… something. Something we watched. And the subtitles had it as “heh heh” and I’m thinking sopranos. Anyway newsflash to no one: I love him a hellllllll of a lot.
I wish I didn’t have to go to the office tomorrow. It’s so annoying. I know it’s good for me and also my manager has outright asked me to, so I kind of have to regardless, but also I’ll just focus on the fact it’s good for me to be properly out of the house and stuff. And it has perks I guess, I can have sushi for lunch, peruse the bookshop nearby and I also don’t snack when I’m at the office, I take nuts with me but I don’t eat them because I get all anxy about if people can hear me chewing or if they think I’m some kind of insatiable ogre who can’t wait til lunch or dinner. But so I just have a few bits of sushi for lunch. Although I really want to try this Vietnamese place, they have a salad that looks so bloody good, but I’ve never been and it looks like the kind you line up for like subway and that sends a barrage of anxiety through me so maybe sometime in the future. But I also tend to get more done and idk. It’s good for me. I’ll just keep telling myself that while I hate life two days a week for the foreseeable. It’s not even that bad, it is bad anxiety wise - like yesterday I didn’t go to the bathroom for over an hour from when I needed to pee because of my anxiety, I also didn’t fill up my drink bottle or get another coffee at all for the whole day. So my anxiety is bad, but maybe over time it’ll get better, I’m sure it will, I just have to suck it up in the interim.
I think I’ll stop now because I have 10 mins exactly til 8 and I need to get entirely ready for bed and post this. I needed to blowdry my hair but I spent too long in the shower and now I don’t have time so oh well. Tbh I look like utter shite anyway lately so what’s a bad hair day to go with it? This is so stupid and super long. Sorry. But many years ago I knew a guy who went to the same college as me. We can call him Charlie. We became friends and eventually started sleeping together without romantic attachments or dating. We were just friends. But we were close. We hung out together, spoke about guys we liked or had a crush on, talked about our futures. I considered him "like my best friend" or 2nd best friend. Though our friendship was sexual, we weren't boyfriends.
We were in the same year and in the same class. There was a big project we had to write. That project consisted of multiple essays, 3 to 5 pages each, that must be related to each other somehow. I wrote my project on me. I wrote about my childhood, my dreams, I wrote about being gay. I poured my heart out and I was excited to share that with my professor. She was a mentor to me.
Charlie had the same class but a different professor. I shared my essays with Charlie to get his opinion and that's when he asked me if he could have one of them to use as his. He would rewrite it to make it about him and it would help him pass. He said I had more essays than I needed, so I wouldn't even have to write a new one. Charlie was really struggling in this class.
I told him no. It felt wrong. It was plagiarism, against the honor code, and we would fail the class and get suspended or expelled. I offered to help him write an outline for an essay using mine as a template but he said he didn't have time for that and it was due in a few days. I told him no.
He said okay, we studied/wrote half the night. He then stayed over and he initiated sex. When I woke up the next morning he was gone. I went to class and forgot all about Charlie asking for my essay
The next day I went to gather my essays for binding and one of them was missing. And I knew he took it. I kept calling his room, paging him, IM showed he was online so I kept messaging him. And he wouldn't answer.
I went to his dorm and pounded on his door. I heard him in his room but he wouldn't answer the door. I yelled through the door that I was printing another copy of my essay and was submitting it. And if he used it, I would narc. I also said I can't believe you would do this to me.
I left and did what I told him I would do. I turned in my project and spoke to the professor after class. I told her what had happened and she said maybe he wouldn't use it. But ill speak with his professor and if he uses your essay in his project then he will face the consequences.
The idiot used my essay. He barely changed anything in it. He initially didn't even change the name of one of my cousins but later did with a vastly different name.
He got caught and failed the course. He had to go to a hearing for plagiarism. I had to write a statement and I told the truth. In the end, Charlie did not get expelled, but he was suspended for the rest of the semester.
I tried to talk to him and he said I was dead to him and he never spoke to me again. I felt awful like I did something wrong. For awhile I thought I should have just given him the essay,
So back to now, I haven't thought of or about Charlie for years. I moved on made other friends and I had heard that Charlie transfered. It all came rushing back to me when I went to work last week and ran into Charlie.
I manage a barestaurant. I dont normally work Sundays. That day, my opening supervisor and the opening server called out so I was managing and serving. A male couple came in and sat down and I welcomed them in. They were such a cute couple. They were holding hands and sitting on the same side of the table. It made me very happy to see it. We had just quit serving brunch and one of them asked if it was too late. I tell them if they hurry they can still use the brunch menu. They said thank you and ordered. They told me they came every Sunday and asked where the server was. I said they weren't in today but I would tell the server their regulars came in. I then tell them my name and if they needed anything let me know and I would check on them soon.
As soon as i said my name, one of them repeats my name. And I nod and he says did you go to (my college). My first name is very unusual so I say yes, thinking to myself, "did I go to school with him?"
He then gets a weird angry smile and says something like "you don't remember me do you? I've spent a lot of time thinking what I would say to you if I ever saw you again."
It was strange and I couldn't place him. I say, "I'm sorry but I don't remember you. What's your name?" He yells "you ruin my life and you don't know my name?" His partner was trying to calm him down.
I was so confused. And then that's when I knew it was Charlie. I said his name and he said now you remember me?
I told him I'm sorry you feel that way but I didn't ruin your life. He said that when he was suspended, he lost a scholarship. Then his parents kicked him out and quit funding him for getting "kicked out for cheating." So when the suspension was over, he couldn't come back. He said he didn't finish college until he was almost 30. He then stood up and grabbed his partner's hand and then insulted me. He told me "youre not so high and mighty now? Are you WAITER". He said waiter with disdain and like it was something to be ashamed of.
l told him that was unnecessary and to stop yelling or he would be asked to leave. He said you were my boyfriend and you did that to me. I said I never was your boyfriend. You need to go.
He said they would never come back and that I owed him an apology. I lost my cool and said you deserved it. You stole my essay. You plagiarized. You didn't care about me at all. You would have let me get suspended too. I then told him to get out and we don't want or need his business. And then they left.
I've been thinking about it all week. l'm not sorry for reporting him back in school. But I'm wondering if l'm the asshole for not telling Charlie sorry. Especially since I'm not sorry but maybe hearing those words might have meant a lot to him. And at one time he did mean a lot to me. His face when he was screaming at me was scary. It was so filled with anger and rage over something that happened 20 years ago or so. And then I feel guilty for possibly leading him on all those years ago since he said I was his boyfriend and I didn't feel the same way. I thought he felt the same way I did but clearly I was wrong.
