2024.05.08 00:53 Diotheinvader-5185 How would you rate Persona 5/R in terms of its main cast?

They're a 7.5-8/10 at best. Better take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Ryuji and Yusuke are my favorites and I think are well-written characters and serve their roles as the bro characters very well. Ren/Akira/Jonker isn't the most interesting protagonist ever, but he still has competent characterization and he works really well in the story he's in. I also like Ann quite a lot as she's one of the more real characters of the PT and the highlight of her character for me is her strength of understanding things really well such as the Sayuri painting. In defense of her being portrayed as a "fanservice" character, there are not really a whole lot of moments that portray her as such and is nowhere near as egregious as some anime I've seen with shoehorned-in fanservice (I'm looking at you Fairy Tail).
Akechi is an odd case to me. I think he's wasted potential in vanilla P5, but he redeemed as a good character in Royal. Mainly because his confidant is now manual and as a result, his dynamic as a rival type of character to Joker makes more sense. And I love his resolve in the third semester. I'm still not a fan of how the story places his boss fight though.
Sadly, this is where I stop being Mr. Goody Two shoes to the characters. Makoto and Futaba ended up as my lesser favorites. But my issues with them were minor in the grand scheme of things. I just don't find Makoto interesting and I feel like the story doesn't utilize her potential as a character to the fullest. And out of all the Persona navigators, I personally find Futaba to be the most irritating to hear in combat (Erika Lindbeck is a good VA tho). But I will admit they're still finely written characters and serve the story well.
Then there's Haru and Sumi, two characters that I like and I have big problems with. Haru got robbed of her character spotlight in Okumura's palace and suffers from having zero relevance in the story until she joins the group. Shame because she's my favorite P5 girl, but it took until Strikers for me to develop that opinion. She has no excuses. Naoto from P4 is a character who joins the party late into the story, but she's introduced fairly early and takes the role of a side character until then.
As for Sumi, I find her to be a likable cinnamon roll kouhai and I sorta relate to Sumire in a way as I also feel inferior to my close cousins at times. But hoo boy, get ready Yoshizawa defense force, she's one of my least favorite characters on a writing standpoint. She's integrated into the main cast pretty poorly for having little to no meaningful or significant interactions with the PT (not just Joker) other than deciding her PT name I guess which then again, happens with everyone in the Phantom thieves. Hell, Marie from P4G is integrated better in the Investigation team than Sumi does in the PT and she has meaningful interactions with the main gang through her social link. I also don't like Sumi's Persona awakenings and I mean both of them. Her initial awakening at 10/3 boils down to "Waah I'm not an honors student but whatever I still love gymnastics" like wtf? And that Sailor Moon ahh transformation is so out of place in the context of others' awakenings which were portrayed as fierce. I also feel like her true awakening as Sumire doesn't make much sense as it isn't a will of rebellion thing either but more on accepting the true self kinda like in P4. Not that it shouldn't happen in P5, but Sumire has her ripping her mask off which presents rebellion for free will and it's a completely different concept than coming to terms with one's self.I might be missing something though, because I never actually replayed the third semester since I first finished the game, but I'll be glad to be corrected.
And then there's Morgana. He's not as insufferable as his haters say, but he is my least favorite character. And it's more than just him bullying Ryuji and simping to Ann. I also think he sucks in combat and I feel like he doesn't get a comeuppance for his reckless actions such as cuddling the treasure while Kaneshiro's palace is falling down and the buildup leading to his tantrum arc before Okumura's palace felt cheap. And just ugh...His leaving the group arc is P5's lowest point. And his big hero moment before the Okumura boss fight is just so forced, and robs the potential spotlight of Haru. A total step down from Ryuji, Ann, and Yusuke standing up to their abusers, Makoto going against the expectations that hold her down, and Futaba getting rid of the false impression of Wakaba hating her.
TL;DR - I think they're an overall serviceable cast of characters just held back by some issues. Especially Sumi's execution as a re-release token character, and freakin' Morgana which both made me think they don't deserve anything higher than an 8.0/10.

2024.05.02 14:28 MurphyParadox The Infinity of Dragon Ball's Universe

The Infinity of Dragon Ball's Universe
The Dragon Ball Universe and its Size is one of the most controversial things regarding the Cosmology of The Verse. The particulars that makes this such a hefty debate regard whether the Universe in Dragon Ball is really Infinite or not, as there are a lot of Statements that seemingly come into contradiction with each other.
Part One: Key Evidence & Statements To cover this, first we need to adress another thing, the Canonicity of The Daizenshuu, as the vast majority of evidence going into proving an Infinite Universe derrives from them. Basically, the way to look at The Daizenshuu are as Guides trying to make sense of Toriyama's own inconsistencies, as he himself admitted he hadn't gotten everything right when writing Dragon Ball, particularly concerning to us are Volume 4 and Volume 7.
https://preview.redd.it/c9ykluiva0yc1.png?width=380&format=png&auto=webp&s=528839db756de46110a2c6c49d4d066ecb2980a1
"It seems that the Fourth Volume is a Dragon Ball “World Guide”. I think that the staff all worked very hard, particularly on the Buildings’ Layouts, the Maps, and whatnot. On top of just sloppily drawing things by the seat of my pants, there are many things that not even I had precisely determined. Weren’t they a bit fed up with how things didn’t come together consistently? I’m very sorry." - Akira Toriyama on Daizenshuu 4
https://preview.redd.it/c38l76qxa0yc1.png?width=360&format=png&auto=webp&s=113f0e94dc779b19225fc783a10f0fbc02e45199
"This Daizenshuu, the Seventh and Final One, is a huge Dragon Ball Encyclopedia. I think the staff who work on these books always have a rough time of it, but this one looked even more hellish than usual. They really did a great job. I'm ridiculously forgetful, so despite being the Author, there's tons of stuff even I don't know anymore. It was often quite a nuisance, and I think having this Encyclopedia around when the Series was still running would have really helped me out. Darn it all. Anyways, my thanks to my staff, and to all Dragon Ball Fans." - Akira Toriyama on Daizenshuu 7
From these Statements, we can understand that The Daizenshuu is reliable and can be used to better understand Dragon Ball's Cosmology. Why this matters in proving an Infinite Universe is because of a variety of Statements saying exactly that.

"An Infinite Space of light and darkness where the unknown lives, the Universe" - Daizenshuu 4, Page 18
https://preview.redd.it/pfsmgie1b0yc1.png?width=1526&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f01ded3c57d2cd0740037ed2ea16407fd065fab
"The Infinite Universe is managed by different Kaio, mainly according to direction, with the Great Kaio overseeing the places managed by the Kaio, and the Kaio of the East, West, South, and North managing the Universe. Finally, the Great Kaio oversees the entire world." - Daizenshuu 4, Page 54
https://preview.redd.it/oubkdmg3b0yc1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=a850d6c7d7e2b5b36e9fc5a7da7bdfaea4bb70f7
"The Universe is the Space that extends infinitely and embraces all Forms that exist in the World. In the Universe, there are Nebulae containing countless Stars and Galaxies containing countless Nebulae. Each Galaxy has its own God. Earth resides in the Solar System, a Galactic Nebula at the Edge of the Northern Galaxy." - Daizenshuu 7, Page 44
These Statements prove that Dragon Ball's Universe is Infinite, which would qualify as Tier High 3-A/High Universe Level as it pertains to its Cosmological Nature. However, there are many detractors who try to take away from this Statement, with various contradictions and/or objections that need to be adressed.
Part Two: The Edge to Infinity This is the biggest piece of evidence used to argue against an Infinite Universe in Dragon Ball, coming from Bulma, who refers to the Universe having both an Edge and a Center.

This argument comes from Bulma referring to both an Edge and Center to The Universe. However, the context of this is important, as Bulma is referring to their Location in the Universe as the Dragon Radar shows it. This means that the Edge and Center that Bulma is referring to is in context to the Map. It is important to understand this, because even in real life, Mathematicians and Physicists have figured out ways to Map out Infinite Universes, giving them an Edge and Center. The most famous of these instances is with Roger Penrose, and the Penrose Diagram.

For an oversimplification, the Penrose Diagram is a Mathematical Diagram or Map, basically compressing things the further away they are, basically giving them an upper limit. This allows for such a thing as an Infinite Universe, to be mapped out, given an Edge and a Center at least Mathematically, but it doesn't actually have an Edge of Center in reality.
Furthermore, it should be noted that for any other mentions of an Edge to The Universe, something can have an Edge and still have Infinite Volume. Just like there are Infinite Numbers after 1, there can be an Edge where the Universe simply stretches to Infinity in another direction. After all, no mention of an edge exists beyond that of the Northern Quadrant.
Another common objection used is the actual way that the Macrocosm is depicted as a Sphere.

This illustration of The Macrocosm originally comes from Akira Toriyama's own sketch of it in The Daizenshuu, and since the Universe is depicted as being a Sphere, and thus not Infinite. However, Toriyama himself has admitted to this sketch's purpose being more so to grasp the relation of the Cosmological Structures to one another, like the Demon Realm existing Parallel to The Universe, the Afterlife being above both, The Kaioshin Realm existing outside The Macrocosm etc., rather than actually being an accurate depiction of the Macrocosm as a whole.
"I think it's something that I came up with so both I and the readers would be able to easily grasp it. The big ball in the Center is the World known as "this World" and "The Afterlife" and the one who watches over it from outside is Kaioshin." - Akira Toriyama in Super Exciting Guide, Page 92
Since the purpose of the Map is to give a broad idea of the Macrocosm and does not seek to be entirely accurate really, it does not refute anything about the Infinity of The Universe, especially considering that illustrating an Infinite Structure accurately, in reality, would be impossible.
Part Three: The Observable and Unobservable

"Illumination of Galaxies and darkness that extends infinitely, Tens of Thousands of Light Years, Billions of Light Years, even light can't reach it. Countless unknown aliens and monsters that defy imagination live beyond the Stars." - Daizenshuu 4, Page 19
This Statement is very interesting, because it seemingly establishes something that cannot be found anywhere else. What we can infer from this is that past Billions of Light Years, the Universe reaches the point where light cannot reach. We actually know from the Manga that beings can live without light, such as Yakkon, whose homeworld is dipped in darkness, which is consistent with the Statement.
https://preview.redd.it/ib2rn58db0yc1.png?width=1560&format=png&auto=webp&s=f4e15188b3e0c004a94b3f5c6da9de28d1231cb2

The absence of light would make this section beyond the Stars unobservable. So, what we can infer from this is that there is both an Observable Universe, stretching to at least to Billions of Light Years similarly to our own, as well as a sort of Unobservable Universe, which itself stretches further to Infinity. With all of this laid out, we can conclude that The Universe in Dragon Ball is, in fact, Infinite.

THE EXILED - An Edinburgh based dark fantasy novel
Totally gripping, The Exiled delivers a killer story that will appeal to fans of both crime fiction and dark fantasy. - GINGER NUTS OF HORROR
When several young girls are abducted from various locations in Edinburgh, Detective John Grainger and his brother Alan, a reporter, investigate the cases from different directions. The abductor is cunning, always one step ahead, and the only clue he leaves behind at each scene are the brutalized corpses of black swans.
When the brothers' investigations finally converge at a farmhouse in Central Scotland, they catch a glimpse of where the girls have been taken, a place both far away yet close enough to touch. A land known throughout Scottish history with many names: Faerie, Elfheim, the Astral Plane - Brigadoon. It is a place of legend and horror, a myth. But the brothers soon discover it is real, and, to catch the abductor, they will have to cross over themselves.
You've just given your wee posh company car away to a known villain in exchange for an old banger and two bacon rolls, you're on the run accused of murder, and your only alibi is that you were away in Fairyland with a big black bird. It's hardly any wonder something smells of shite.
To catch a killer, John and Alan Grainger will have to battle the Cobbe, a strange and enigmatic creature that guards the realm, a creature of horrific power that demands a heavy price for entry into its world. The fate of both realms hangs in the balance… and time is running out...
Shall we talk about the Black Bird?
This book will appeal to people in the overlapping section of a Venn diagram showing Grimm Tales readers, Stephen King fans and crime fiction lovers. - THIS IS HORROR

Dehumidifier turns on but doesn't collect water
I want to save a dehumidifier (Swan SH3021) from being thrown out but it doesn't seem to collect water.
It turns on, fan turns on, and compressor seems to turn on. But, looking at the wattage meter it draws 41W when fan is on, then every minute and a half, it'll jump to around 1180W for 15 seconds, then compressor turns off, until 1m 30s later, it'll turn on again for 15s and so on. Not sure if that's normal as I've never really used one before.
The wattage jump seems a bit high as the label on the case says 430W max. Have attached a couple of images. Help appreciated.
Label on back
Circuitry diagram label
Edit: Going to try replacing capacitor first because... well, see for yourself:
Exploded cap
Update: Replacing the capacitor fixed the dehumidifier! Runs normally now around 250 to 330W and is collecting water. Another thing saved from the dump! Thanks for everyone's help.

After Nagi inevitably defeated Hiiragi, Niko, and Zantetsu, they move on the the 4v4. Question is… who will they face? I personally think they’re gonna face the following…
Endoji Akira Shizuka Haiji Taiga Tsunzaki Kiyora Jin (duh)
I have my reasoning as to why these characters are the pick. For starters, if Nagi were to face these characters, it would make complete sense in order for teams 4 and 5 to pass. I have a multitude of diagrams to show this.
We know that Nagi’s team is gonna win against the other team of 4 and take Kiyora Jin. Team 2 is created (view slide 1)
While this going on. Niko and Hiiragi win a 2v2 and pick up Hiori (view slide 2)
Since Niko and Hiiragi won the 2v2, and Endoji, Taiga, and Shizuka lost the 4v4, they both get knocked down the the 3v3 stage where they battle it out, however Endoji, Taiga, and Shizuka win and take Hiiragi (view slide 3)
After one more match, Team 4 is created (view slide 4)
After a few matches, Niko and Hiori win some matches and forms Team 5 (view slide 5)
BONUS HINT: So Nomura posted on his twitter about receiving gifts and letters for the characters, and in those gifts we see Shizuka Haiji, a character that I think we’ll see in the 4v4 against Nagi (view slide 6) Now take this with a grain of salt as I don’t know whether these stickers are fanmade or not, but if they were official blue lock merch, it could hint that Shizuka would have some sort of relevance (more so in episode Nagi since there’s a Hiiragi sticker as well)

What was it? In 1974, a Russian popular technical magazine explained in detail the main secret of almost all US nuclear devices. The essence of the design of the Swan implosion is revealed.
In the magazine "Техника-молодёжи" for June 1974 (the cover of the magazine on the collage I presented is surrounded by a green frame under number 1), a well-illustrated short article by a certain engineer Alexander Ivolgin appears, entitled "Династия Ка Зэ трудится для мира". "Ка Зэ", that is "КЗ" is short for "кумулятивный заряд", cumulative charge. The title can be translated as follows: a variety of ideas for creating cumulative explosions are ready for use for peaceful purposes.
Russian Swan
In the article, in fact, there is nothing about the peaceful use of cumulation. The entire short, one magazine page, article sets out how diverse cumulative explosions in general can be. This is a brief panopticon of possible solutions and achievements in explosive cumulation. An entire page (on the left of the collage) is devoted to diagrams and drawings by artist Nikolai Rozhnov, which well illustrate the article. In particular, the idea of central-spherical single-point cumulation is very clearly and clearly presented (circled by me in the collage with a blue frame under number 2).
There is little written about this phenomenon in the article (circled on my collage with a red frame under number 3), but for a thoughtful, educated “Soviet reader”, enough has been written to understand everything that needs to be understood. There are no formulas here. But you will quickly find them by reading the article. In any case, that’s what I did (this didn’t happen right away, but years later, when I already knew about the American Swan implosion design, saw this article again in an old magazine). And never again for me personally there was no secret of the of the Swan implosion design.
Below, I present the original text from the red frame:
— угол между касательной к ней и радиусом-вектором, проведенным в точку касания;
Here's the translation:
However, even practitioners are interested in knowing: is there a limit to the explosive concentration of energy? Perhaps a special effect can be achieved by making a spherical cavity inside a cubic charge (figure above right)? As we know, the detonation wave travels in the body of the explosive faster than the particles from its surface. Therefore, the front of the expansion of explosion products gradually bends until it closes into a curve like a logarithmic spiral. But the particles on it fly at different speeds. The products of an explosion cannot converge simultaneously at one point.
But the logarithmic spiral itself has very interesting properties. It always remains constant:
— the angle between the tangent to it and the radius vector drawn to the point of contact;
— the ratio of the length of the curve section limited by two radius vectors to their difference.
If the ratio of the detonation speed to the speed of expansion of the explosion products is also constant, then by rotating a logarithmic spiral around the radius vector we will obtain a shaped cavity. It is also shown on the tab. Such a cavity can be called supercumulative. In it, explosion products from any point on the surface fly at the same angle to the normal and simultaneously converge at one point! There, at the focus, a colossal pressure arises - on the order of a million atmospheres.
An interesting picture for us, larger (the quality is poor, since the digitization of the magazine is quite rough):

Text on the picture:
Распространение волны детонации и продуктов взрыва в зарядах с кумулятивными полостями:
- сферической (вверху)
- фигурной (внизу)
Propagation of detonation waves and explosion products in charges with cumulative cavities:
- spherical (top)
- curly (bottom)
In the upper figure it is written: "фронт разлёта продуктов взрыва", “explosion product dispersion front ” and "фронт детонации", “detonation front”.
Engineer Ivolgin (very similar to a pseudonym) actually did not reveal any secret even then. There is, and I downloaded, a very thick textbook “Physics of Explosion” from the 1959 edition, containing as many as 801 pages, densely packed with formulas and diagrams.
Here is the authentic name:
"Физика взрыва"
Ф. А. Баум, К. П. Станюкович, Б. И. Шехтер.
Государственное издательство физико-математической литературы,
Москва 1959.
And there, on pages 473-475 you will see the same “heart” but with the necessary mathematics. People interested in nuclear weapons in Russia even cut out “the most important things” from these pages in the form of pictures, and they initially came to me in this form (from which I later found this book):
473
475
I won't translate. Whoever wants to, will find and do everything himself. Including the mathematics involved.
But engineer Ivolgin, together with the artist Rozhnov, for some reason decided that the 1959 edition was not enough, and this time very clearly, one might say, “on the fingers”, so that it would become extremely clear to any simpleton, they explained how it is possible, having one point detonation, obtain a perfectly converging spherical cumulation!
I have a strong suspicion that this was not some kind of unauthorized leak. The material was presented in such a way that people who knew the subject understood everything (partners overseas). But those who don’t need to understand anything (ordinary people) didn’t really notice anything.
The question then remains, why did this need to be done in 1974 through a popular technical magazine? The question remains a mystery to me. Although, perhaps I'm making up a conspiracy theory out of thin air.
Now it does not matter. What's important is this. What mathematics is hidden in what is said in the article I mentioned? The term "logarithmic spiral" was enough. This is what I drew immediately, based only on what was said in the article, and everything became extremely clear to me with the details of this design:
My Swan
k is the ratio of the velocity of expansion of detonation products vr to the detonation velocity vd.
Knowing only these parameters, you know exactly how to construct a curve and calculate the radius of the sphere where the figured wave of the explosion products turns into a spherical one (here you need to place the sphere of the main explosive).
And we see (I built a whole family of colored curves) that the smaller k, the more compact the figured cavity and the larger the spherical radius. At k =1/8, the radius of the sphere becomes 0.822 (of unit size) and the structure becomes almost ideally compact.
From here it becomes clear what the main goal is when creating the “Swan” design. Make k as small as possible. And for this, the products of the explosion “on a logarithmic spiral” must be something heavy. Then the expansion of the products will be much slower than the detonation speed. Let's say a layer of metal should fly. In the same 1959 textbook “Physics of Explosion” (or any other one on explosives) you will find how to calculate the velocity of throwing a metal surface during the detonation of a flat layer of explosives. Detonation is a very stable and precisely calculated process.
How this ultimately works in the most modern devices in the USA is very clearly shown in A W88 video. The only thing wrong in the video is the shape of the cavity, it’s not an ellipse.
The only subtlety that may still need to be taken into account. You may have to make the thickness of the metal that flies towards the center slightly different. So that on the sphere the density of the metal flying towards it would be the same. This means that the layer of detonating substance in the explosive lens itself should also be slightly different. But these are the subtleties of design settings. What quality of implosion do you want?
I am confident that any small country, having begun work on such cumulation, creating a laboratory for a dozen people and with small capital investments, will achieve outstanding success within a year.
Of course. There are prophets not only in foreign countries.
This American boy of yours understands everything correctly.
Here is his article on the Swan single point design.
Only there he does not have the necessary mathematics. Carey Sublette also has about this in NFAQ, although quite little.
4.1.6.2.2.3 Advanced Wave Shaping Techniques
The idea of slow and fast explosives is just a very, very early idea, undeveloped. The main drawback of Carey Sublette is that it does not have formulas associated with this design. This is bad. I always like to say that if you don’t have a calculation, then you don’t have any brilliant idea!
But now, I hope everyone has this brilliant idea?
"Happiness, for free, to everyone! And let no one leave offended!" (с)
For it is truly beautiful, like the flapping of a swan’s wings during takeoff! :)

2024.02.21 07:05 Aggressive-Maize-632 Long Post: Roleplaying in "Persona 5"? (Discussion/Question)

I'm unsure if I'm wording this right, but I wonder if anyone else has tried roleplaying their version of Joker during a playthrough. I don't mean making decisions that Akira Kurusu or Ren Amiyama would make, but adding a new layer of immersion to the game and exploring different options you wouldn't usually pick.
Perhaps it would be easier to use my first playthrough as an example.
My Joker is Tadashi Fukuyama, a young man from the countryside who moved to the city to start fresh after being falsely accused of assault. Similar to Akira or Ren. But Tadashi had always been a bit of a punk. Think Yusuke Urumeshi from "Yu Yu Hakusho" or Ichigo Kurosaki from "Bleach." But even though he had a tough exterior, Tadashi had a strong sense of justice. But after the false accusations, he's become more hardened and cynical.
When he first arrives at LeBlanc, he treats Sojiro with the same amount of hostility that Sojiro showed him. Whenever he interacts with adults or authority figures, he goes for all the rude or hostile dialogue options, further enforcing everyone else's preconception of him as a criminal. Whenever he was asked questions in class, he just picked a random answer out of apathy and disinterest, not caring about his grades or what his peers would say about him.
He is immediately in awe of Ann's beauty when he first meets her, but because of his trust issues, he quickly discards any thoughts of developing a relationship with her. When Shadow Kamoshida kidnaps him and Ryuji, Tadashi shows his true self by protecting him, even though they just met and he had previously shown hostility towards him.
As the days go by and they start to develop a bond while planning to take down Kamoshida, Tadashi begins to treat Ryuji with more respect and understanding, realizing that his initial assumptions about him were wrong. Through their shared experiences and hardships, Tadashi learns to trust Ryuji and values their friendship as they work together towards a common goal. Tadashi grows closer to Ann when he sees her most vulnerable and seeks to improve his kindness and empathy towards others. This eventually leads him to show respect towards Sojiro, and in turn, Sojiro begins to see Tadashi in a new light.
Tadashi and Morgana's relationship was friendly, but Tadashi wouldn't hesitate to put the cat in his place if necessary. He was also hostile towards "Igor" and the wardens, not wanting to be involved in whatever game they played with his life.
When it came to the adult confidants, Tadashi only saw them as a means to an end for the Phantom Thieves, called Wunderdiebes (German for Miracle Thieves, inspired by the one classroom question about Wunderkind). He would only do things for Tae, Iwai, Kawakami, and Ohya if he knew he could get something out of it (Iwai came later because Tadashi didn't have enough guts to face him then). He didn't bother helping Tora and Chihaya for that reason.
Tadashi also recognized Mishima as a victim of Kamoshida, even though he was rightfully pissed to learn that he was the one who leaked his record to the whole school, but he still became his friend. He even helped Mishima when he was going down the path of becoming no different from the bullies who tormented him. Tadashi wanted to guide him towards a better way despite their rocky start.
When Wunderdiebes met Yusuke, Tadashi was highly protective of Ann when he wanted to paint her nude. He initially didn't trust Yusuke but eventually warmed up to him, especially after taking down Madarame. Makoto was the hardest for Tadashi to get along with due to initial hostility, which didn't cease until the end of Kaneshiro's palace. He did take up her offer to study and start putting effort into school.
Tadashi's relationship with his guardian grew stronger during the threat of MedJed and Sae harassing Sojiro. He even accepted his tips on how to become more charming (for Ann). After clearing Futaba's palace, Tadashi immediately took to becoming her surrogate big brother and stopped her uncle from trying to take her from Sojiro. Also, Sae's actions in this part of the game contribute to Tadashi's hostility towards her during the interrogation.
When Hifumi became available, Tadashi didn't follow her confidant route, as Shogi didn't interest him. He became a big brother to Shinya, even though he initially befriended him to beat the cheater in Mementos. And he barely interacted with Akechi or Maruki (I missed the "Royal" story but got to it on a second run). He did help Kasumi out, though.
During the Okumra palace, Tadashi admittedly was beginning to miss Morgana and was glad to have him back. He was onboard with helping Haru after witnessing how Sugimure treats her, and he helped her out during her confidant route. But he stopped talking to her after he friendzoned her and broke her heart. He felt awful about that.
When Ann was called up onto the stage during the school festival, Tadashi confessed his love to her. Then, he was there for her when she said goodbye to Shiho, and they both started their relationship and eventually unlocked Hecate.
Wunderdiebes does Sae's palace, Tadashi gets interrogated, and Akechi is revealed as the traitor. Tadashi does warm up to Sae after this. When they get to Shido's palace, Tadashi wastes no time getting it done and takes down the man who ruined his life. Then, the final battle with Yaldabaoth came, with Tadashi's party being Ann, Morgana, and Ryuji, all with their confidants maxed out. He spends Christmas Eve with Ann before going to prison and Valentine's Day with her after getting out. Then he goes home.
Stats by the end of the game:
Kindness: 5
Guts: 5
Proficiency: 4
Charm: 4
Knowledge: 3
Confidants by the end of the game:
Ryuji: 10
Morgana: 10
Ann: 10
Futaba: 10
"Igor": 10
Sae: 10
Haru: 9
Tae: 8
Iwai: 8
Mishima: 8
Shinya: 8

Ohya: 5
Kawakami: 5
Yoshizawa: 5
Akechi: 3
Tora: N/A
Hifumi: N/A
Chihaya: N/A
Maruki: N/A
I apologize for the long post. I wanted to provide a comprehensive overview of my protagonist's journey throughout the game. I wondered if anyone else did something like this to make their "Persona 5 Royal" playthrough a more memorable and personal experience.

2024.02.15 20:15 Decapod73 Origami being used for commercial purposes - Are Yoshizawa's designs considered public domain?

My boss was approached about providing folded origami models that will appear in a television show. She said "yes" before telling me, "guess what! you get paid to do your hobby this week!"
The legal implications of using origami had not been explained to the TV producers - They likely don't realize it is akin to getting the rights to play a song.
Some of the models are by artists who might be thrilled to have their work featured, but I don't know how to get their permission and work out payment by the deadline (they film on February 20th, 5 days from now). specifically, their request includes screenshots from Pinterest of Jo Nakashima's Chameleon and Riccardo Foschi's Koi.
There's also a Kawasaki Rose in the "could you make this" images... that one's so widely taught by so many different for-profit youtube channels that I almost feel like the copyright has been forfeited by the creator's inaction to protect the intellectual property.
for a couple of the requested animals, I've made my own designs in the past that I could work with.
Finally, three of the images (again, Pinterest screengrabs from a search for origami animals) are Akira Yoshizawa models. Does his estate protect the use of his works? Where would I find out? I feel like he generally wanted his origami spread even while he was alive, but I don't know what financial agreements he made around its use for commercial purposes.
Any advice on what I should tell my boss (and/or have her tell the TV producers) is appreciated. Her deadline to provide the producers with a price estimate is end of business TODAY (5pm eastern time)
Thanks!

2024.01.17 01:36 os_ishmael 8 Ways to Conquer the Jargon Jungle

We all start out as mediocre communicators at best.
Whether it be with our speaking or writing.
At the office or at home, the path to success is often littered with miscommunication.
As a leader or manager (or husband like me), you know this all too well.
The barriers we face in teamwork, negotiations, and everyday interactions frequently stem from unclear communication.
I recall a time when my office was buzzing with the start of a new week. I’m in the middle of explaining a crucial project to my team when I notice puzzled looks all around.
It turns out, my use of technical jargon and industry-specific lingo had lost them miles back. This was a classic case of miscommunication in the office — a sunny day quickly clouded by the jungle of jargon.
Such scenarios are all too common in the corporate world.
As a leader or manager, your mission is not just to survive but to conquer this jargon jungle and emerge as a communicator who captivates and clarifies, never leaving your audience in a state of confusion.
Let’s unravel this knot and pave the way to success through effective communication skills, public speaking tips, overcoming communication anxiety, clarity, and conciseness in speaking.

The Art of Precision in Your Words

Simply put, effective communication — it’s pretty much the backbone of anything that actually succeeds.
But here’s the thing: it’s tricky.
Whether English is your first language or not, it’s all about getting your point across without things getting all muddled up.
Now, this isn’t just about talking in a way that’s easy to understand. Nope. It’s about making sure your message doesn’t just hit the ears but also sticks in the mind and maybe, just maybe, changes something.
So, here are some nifty tips, and hey, these aren’t just for talking. Writing? Yeah, they work there too.

Clear Communication as Your Pathway to Success

Every tip here is centered around a benefit — a reason why clear communication enhances understanding and drives results.
As a leader, your role is to cut through the noise, making your “why” crystal clear. This is the foundation of success, one I’ve built upon in my journey, and you can too.
Remember, communicating clearly, oh, it’s so much more than just making sure others get what you’re saying. It’s like laying down a path for real, solid progress and, you know, the kind of leadership that actually makes a difference.
When you nail these skills, you’re doing a whole lot more than just talking or showing off some slides. You’re really connecting with people, making an impact, and leading the way.
Now, don’t get me wrong, getting good at this communication thing isn’t always a walk in the park. There’s gonna be a bunch of trying and, well, not quite getting it right.
But hang in there! The payoff? It’s huge. We’re talking about teamwork that actually works, negotiations that end up successful, and creating a workplace vibe that’s not just strong, but super together and united.
You can apply this at home too. Works wonders and keeps a happy household with the wife and kiddos.
Your words have power. Use them to create clarity, not confusion, and watch as your team, projects, and life thrive under your guidance.

Thank you for reading!
