EXPLORATION
  • Juanicipio:
    • Infill drilling at Juanicipio continued in Q1 2024 from underground aimed at upgrading mineralization in areas expected to be mined in the near to mid-term. During Q1 2024, 11,271 metres were drilled from underground.
    • Surface drilling focused on expanding and upgrading the deeper zones and broader regional exploration started in April 2024.
    • During 2024, Juanicipio plans to drill a total of 50,000 metres, with 33,000 metres from underground and 17,000 metres from surface.
  • Deer Trail Project, Utah:
    • On May 29, 2023 MAG started a Phase 3 drilling program focused on up to three porphyry “hub” target areas thought to be the source of the manto, skarn, epithermal mineralization and extensive alteration throughout the project area including that at the Deer Trail and Carissa zones. In late 2023 an early onset of winter snowfall impacted the commencement of the third porphyry “hub” target, which is now expected to be drilled in 2024. The two completed “hub” holes to date total 2,738 metres. Both holes intercepted alteration and mineralization in line with what is expected on the edges of porphyry systems. Follow-up drill targets are planned for summer 2024.
    • With the early onset of snowfall, Phase 4 drilling focussed on lower elevations commenced in the last quarter of 2023 and continued through Q1 2024, aimed at offsetting the Carissa discovery and testing other high-potential targets in the Deer Trail mine area. During Q1 2024, 1,208 metres were drilled at Carissa with results pending.
  • Larder Project, Ontario:
    • Drilling targeting Cheminis and Bear totalled 5,391 metres in Q1 2024. Targets tested include down plunge extension of the high-grade double knuckle at the Bear East zone and extending the Cheminis south mine sequence down plunge.
    • Cheminis Update: Follow-up drilling of the Cheminis South Cadillac-Larder Break (“CLD”) mine sequence down plunge is planned to test below the most recent intercepts. Hole GAT-24-026 intersected a new zone on the north side of the CLB within a fuchsite-silica-albite altered komatiite grading 3.9 g/t gold over 16 metres with 2 higher grade shoots associated with albite dykes (see Table 1 below).
    • Bear Update: Utilizing the updated model and incorporating the updated data from recent drilling, the Bear East zone was successfully extended down plunge by up to 1,100 metres depth. Hole GAT-24-024NB intersected gold mineralization on both sides of the CLB which confirms the presence of either another structural trap at depth or the continuation of the “double knuckle” zone at surface. Gold mineralization intersected on the north zone included 9.4 g/t gold over 2.2 metres within a strongly altered komatiite with syenite intrusions and 1.6 g/t gold over 4.2 metres on the south zone within the south iron-rich volcanics (see Table 1 below). Bear East remains open in all directions.

Operating Performance

During the three months ended March 31, 2024 a total of 325,081 tonnes of ore were mined. This represents an increase of 45% over Q1 2023. Increases in mined tonnages at Juanicipio have been driven by the operational ramp up of the mine towards steady state targets.
During the three months ended March 31, 2024 a total of 325,683 tonnes of ore were processed through the Juanicipio plant; no ore was processed at the nearby Fresnillo and Saucito processing plants (100% owned by Fresnillo). This represents an increase of 47% over Q1 2023. The increase in milled tonnage has been driven by the Juanicipio mill commissioning and operational ramp up to nameplate capacity over the course of 2023.
The silver head grade and equivalent silver head grade for the ore processed in the three months ended March 31, 2024 was 476 g/t and 713 g/t, respectively (three months ended March 31, 2023: 363 g/t and 530 g/t, respectively). Head grades in Q1 2023 were lower as low-grade commissioning stockpiles were processed through the Juanicipio plant. Silver metallurgical recovery during Q1 2024 was 89.1% (Q1 2023: 87.0%) reflecting ongoing optimizations in the processing plant.

Sales increased by $72,207 during the three months ended March 31, 2024, mainly due to 179% higher metal volumes and 2% higher realized metal prices.
Offsetting higher sales was higher production cost ($9,409) which was driven by higher sales and operational ramp-up in mining and processing, including $3,545 in inventory movements, and higher depreciation ($14,083) as the Juanicipio mill achieved commercial production and commenced depreciating the processing facility and associated equipment in June 2023. Operating margin increased by 21% to 52%, mainly due to operational leverage and the lower reliance on the nearby Fresnillo and Saucito processing facilities.
Other expenses increased by $2,159 mainly as a result of higher extraordinary mining and other duties ($872) in relation to higher precious metal revenues from the sale of concentrates and higher consulting and administrative expenses ($2,690) as an operator services agreement became effective upon initiation of commercial production (the “Operator Services Agreement”), offset by lower exchange losses and other costs ($1,566).
Taxes increased by $20,980 impacted by higher taxable profits generated during Q1 2024, and non-cash deferred tax credits related to the commencement of use of plant and equipment in Q1 2023.
Ore Processed at Juanicipio Plant (100% basis)

MAG FINANCIAL RESULTS – THREE MONTHS ENDED MARCH 31, 2024
As at March 31, 2024, MAG had working capital of $72,833 (December 31, 2023: $67,262) including cash of $74,683 (December 31, 2023: $68,707) and no long-term debt. As well, as at March 31, 2024, Juanicipio had working capital of $107,088 including cash of $30,991 (MAG’s attributable share is 44%).
The Company’s net income for the three months ended March 31, 2024 amounted to $14,895 (March 31, 2023: $4,713) or $0.14/share (March 31, 2023: $0.05/share). MAG recorded its 44% income from equity accounted investment in Juanicipio of $19,244 (March 31, 2023: $7,919) which included MAG’s 44% share of net income from operations as well as loan interest earned on loans advanced to Juanicipio (see above for MAG’s share of income from its equity accounted investment in Juanicipio).

I’m (22f) 5’6 and have been between 200 and 206 for the last 2, 3 weeks while on a calorie deficit. Before that I lost a steady amount, my initial weight was 220. I have no idea why I’m not losing (and even gaining) since I’m tracking strictly and eating a lot of frozen meals, which aren’t the healthiest I know but I like them because of the easy to log calorie counts. I also do high intensity walk/ run intervals for like half an hour each day too (trying to build up to run a 5k, making great progress!)
I’m going to include an example of my food logs from yesterday, if anyone can tell me where I may be going wrong here I’d appreciate it! I know this isn’t healthy food btw, I’m just trying to get my calories nailed down starting out and then will make healthier food choices going forward (if I do too much at once it’s hard to stick to it). Also I have a food scale I use too so counts should be accurate. Thanks!
Calorie goal: 1380, food: 1289, exercise calories burned: 260.
Breakfast/ lunch: 740. (Cantina chicken bowl from Taco Bell, one Cinnabon delight, naval orange)

Cleared RR3 with the burn team in 54 total turns this time! 4 turn Spiral is real! A slightly different approach to some fights this time, and some notes about Philip Sinclair.
Counting my last post 64 turn clear, this would be my 3rd RR clear with the burn team. The team is in a much better spot now, even able to clear fights like Spiral in 4 turns and with some dirty damage skips is able to potentially. Not going into as much detail this time, and will focus more on what's changed since the last run.

Now, going into the IDs and what changed from last time:
Liu Rodya and Liu Ishmael:
My previous mixed feelings for Liu Rodya have subsided a bit. Considering how strong Liu Ishmael already was, and applying Liu Rodya to the same scale in terms of what she brings to the rest of the team and herself puts Liu Rodya in a much better spot now. Both of them now have very solid access to their burn defining EGO (4MF and ABS) due to Envy no longer being a lacking resource, and with wrath and pride now being sorted, you can even get out a few Ishmael Blind Obsessions. Of course, this only matters for the later half. Earlier on, both these IDs very much are the main clashers and burn scalers of this team in terms of both coin power and damage scaling.
Magic Bullet Outis:
I WISH I could say I still liked this ID. A lot of resets simply were simply due to really shitty skill rolls on turn 1 and 2, or losing 1 coin on her S2. Frequently I ended up using guard to just get bullets up so I could have real dark flame count on turns it mattered (especially on Gasharpoon, Trio, Spiral turn 1 guard, moth, etc). At this point, while she stands as a massive burn payoff and scales burn potency absurdly well, she is just... Icky. That said, if you want burn potency scaling, there is currently no better way besides this (second being Philip Sinclair S3 and Ryoshu 4MF, and third being wrath resonance scaling the team's damage)
Dawn Office SinclaiPhilip Sinclair:
Post the buffs, this ID has turned out to be a huge boost for this team. Not going to talk about MD or standard content, but specifically in RR3 style content, this unit truly stands out in making use of the previous support slots that I considered mostly dead slots (Yi Sang, Hong Lu), and giving a great payoff for the micromanagement. Philip does a very solid job once he enters EGO form, which was something I managed very easily by turn 2 or every fight (yes, even the first mermaids fight, just use S3 and whistles will get him to enter turn 1). Further, with Impending Day's passive, this man is able to absolutely PUMP envy, gloom, and wrath, which all provide huge boosts to the team in the long run. Envy was an especially annoying bottleneck on the previous run, and often forced me to break the team I was running.
Changes to overall thoughts on the burn team:
This will be a bit of a comparison to the thoughts from last time.
Pros:
  • Fairly solid clashing now, and absolutely brainless to play in MD (no change)
  • Burn Potency is now at approx 12-20 per turn, and with EGO so easily accessible now, you can cap potency in 3-4 turns easily.
  • Burn Count is now a complete non-issue. Liu Hong Lu on bench does nothing now, swap to base Hong Lu for or any other for a usable support passive.
  • There is very nice damage variety now, with 2 decent slash options (more considering EGO), good blunt from Ishmael, and solid pierce from Rodya. The others... Exist.
  • Actually good access to important ego resources now. Wrath, Lust, and Pride have always been trivial. Envy is now completely trivialize. Ironically, the most difficult resource to maintain is Sloth for Meur's capote.
  • Amazing EGOs that really push the power of the team, also aids the AOE aspect (even better now)
  • Scaling damage now from dark flame, Philip Sinclair S3, Ryoshu 4MF, Rodya 4MF for wrath Fragile -> Ryoshu 4MF + ABS Overclock + Capote (normal or overclock) becoming a VERY potent combo.
  • Sanity management through lust resonance + N faust, and now Gloom access for base Yi Sang passive and Sloth for base Hong Lu passive (hooray we no longer need Liu Hong Lu on bench)
Cons:
  • Not having a good Yi Sang ID generally = no 4MF = rip aoe potency, but at least we have base Yi Sang as a solid bench option for Philip Sinclair.
  • N Clair is a pain in the ass to micromanage, please give Philip Sinclair (the monkey's paw curls...) I mean... It's an upgrade specifically for burn, but I would not place either ID above the other in overall strength right now. N Clair is still the better generalist, but honestly both of them are a bit annoying to micromanage. Post the buffs, Philip Sinclair is significantly easier to handle though.
  • Clashing can be bad if you roll an entire hand of S1s, can be compromised with ego but that can be painful (this is mitigated a bit now due to better EGO access)
  • Investment level is still fairly high, needing a bunch of 000s, burn EGO, and uptie 4s across the board for scaling and consistency
  • Dark Flame can be an annoyance to micromanage, but the reward is well worth it... (my irl sanity is -44)
  • In a vacuum, the early Liu 00s still struggle quite a bit on clashing especially on turns 1-2 and on aoe fights.
  • Limited options in terms of variety and debuffs, and struggling in terms of AOE outside of use of EGO. -> Mitigated by better access to EGO.
  • Very limited access to healing, with Persuance x2 and Lantern being very expensive options, and Lifetime Stew... being Lifetime Stew. This is also not really an issue anymore if you just blast through fights since there are frequent heal points, and most fights are very easy to deal wth now.
  • No evade? Well I guess... This isn't really a problem anymore since you can blast through shit? Though it would be nice to have.
On to the actual run details:

The Railway:

  • Mermaids (5 -> 6): Philip in particular can enter right from turn 1 with S3 win clash + whistles, which is definitely something I went for. Losing out a turn here to make use of impending day was an option, but not something I made use of. Honestly, in the long run, this would have paid off easily shaved 2-3 turns from the count. Not really worth running the whole thing again to find out though...
  • Siltcurrent (6, 5 or even 4 might be possible with ego): Not much change here, though better ego resource access might have made it possible to shave this to 5 or 4 turns. I think one or two resets because Ishmael corroded from ABS killing too many on AOE.
  • Gossypium (4): Complete joke fight. Just one sided potency and popped it, even more brainlessly than last time. Wondering if 3 turns might be possible, but I did not do the math on this at all. 0 resets.
  • Clam (4): Again, similar to gossypium. 1 reset to cut from 5 turns to 4. Trivial fight.
  • Skin Prophet (6 -> 5): Ego resource tax was not felt as badly here. Ryoshu was on field enough to generate gluttony for 1 ebony stem at the start, which is all you need. A timely stagger before it lights the candles again, and clean up on turn 4 and 5. A couple resets to time the stagger.
  • Ardor Blossom Moth (6 -> 5): And now suddenly this fight becomes a total joke as well? I don't know what it is, or maybe I just got used to playing this team, but this fight was just done first try. Threw out a bunch of burn ego and had dark flame up to 4 on both wing and body on turn 5 and the thing exploded. Might be possible to 4 turn this.
  • 3 wave aoe nonsense fight (9 -> 7): When you stop caring about sanity, things become a lot simpler. Threw out a bunch of ego freely, farming massive envy from impending day + Philip S2 aoe kills, sanity goes flying back up from the 3 cheerleaders on bench and the fight ends quickly. 6 turns might be possible if I used blind obsession here.
  • Trio (10 -> 6): And now the BIG shift in power, Impending day + S3 giving the wrath the keep me going. this fight needed a few resets in particular to lineup the ego combo I mentioned above (Rodya 4MF -> ABS Capote Ryo4MF). Wave 1 was 3 turns, can potentially be 2 turns. The trio itself took 3 turns, and honestly I think pushing that to 2 turns might be a bit too painful to reset for. Absolutely no deaths this time!
  • Gasharpoon (7): This one I'm a bit disappointed by. I was in line for a 6 turn clear on phone but accidentally clicking a notification tabbed me out and limbus restart itself... With some smart skips from the dark flame gimmick, you can start phase 2 and phase 3 on significantly lower HP than usual which makes them both super easy.
Phase 3 start, (missed 2 turn phase 2 by like 40 damage)
  • Spiral (4): This is the one I'm most pleased by. One the last run I already theorized a 4 turn clear but was lacking the ego resources to do it. This time around however, I had just enough to drop massive EGO on turn 2 to push potency and then do the full combo on both turn 3 and turn 4. Took me a total of about 8-10 resets total to get this down.
It was all worth it (This was not the run that finished in 4 turns lol)
Closing Thoughts:
I think this time around no fight was truly agonizing. Most of my resets were on Trio, but not because the fight was hard or I had to sacrifice people. It was more because of lining up the combo if anything.
Going up from level 40 to 45 is also huge. It makes a lot of the clashes significantly easier, and boosts damage up quite a bit.
Burn is now in a significantly better spot than before. I don't know it's full potential in speedrun territory, but that seems to be taken up by Wingbeat, Sinking, or Rupture reset runs currently. This run is by no means a full tryhard reset run, and more of an invested but casual run to show how well burn CAN perform.
Also a major note that a large part of this railway is still designed AGAINST burn.

("Faraday" or the "Company") (TSX:FDY)(OTCQX:CPPKF) is pleased to announce the results of five drill holes from its Phase III program at the Copper Creek Project, located in Arizona, U.S. ("Copper Creek"). One hole was drilled to test a new target area 275 metres ("m") west of Keel and one hole was drilled to test the westward extension of Old Reliable. Three holes were drilled at Area 51 as a follow-up to the recent Starship and Eclipse breccia discoveries (announced on January 16, 2024 and March 4, 2024).

At Area 51, we continue to intersect and expand near-surface mineralization. At Old Reliable, mineralization is being further delineated outside of the mineral resource pit shell. Additionally, the first reconnaissance hole drilled at depth, west of Keel, confirms our thesis that there is the potential for significant mineralization to be discovered below the Old Reliable breccia complex. This new data will enable us to vector to high grade zones for further drill testing".
Highlights
  • At Area 51, intersected 42.05 m at 0.41% copper from 48.55 m in drill hole FCD-24-056 at the recently discovered Eclipse breccia.
    • This hole expands the known mineralization within the Eclipse breccia approximately 20 m to the east and 50 m to the north from previous intercepts**.**
  • Drilling 275 m west of Keel ("Keel West") intersected 51.45 m at 0.50% copper and 1.39 grams per tonne ("g/t") silver from 820.62 m in drill hole FCD-24-053. This intercept is within a longer intercept of 186.90 m at 0.32% copper from 820.62 m.
    • This hole is in a previously undrilled area outside the Mineral Resource Estimate ("MRE") and confirms that mineralization is open to the west of Keel and below the Old Reliable breccia.
  • Step-out to the west of Old Reliable intersected 70.35 m of 0.29% copper and 1.31 g/t silver from 55.53 m in drill hole FCD-24-054.
    • Mineralization is hosted in granodiorite porphyry and confirms that near-surface mineralization at Old Reliable remains open.

Area 51 was identified as highly prospective by integrating airborne versatile time domain electromagnetic (VTEM) geophysical data and short wave infrared spectral data together with geological mapping and sampling. Area 51 encompasses a porphyry intrusion with nine mapped breccia bodies over an area of approximately 400 m by 400 m, including Starship and Eclipse. The breccias are interpreted to have been emplaced at a shallow crustal level in the hanging wall of the northwest trending Holy Joe thrust fault, which brought Proterozoic metamorphic rocks in contact with younger sedimentary rock units to the east of Area 51. This fault is also thought to have controlled the emplacement of the Paleocene Glory Hole volcanics and Copper Creek granodiorite which host the mineral resource.
Drill hole FCD-24-056 was collared northeast of the Eclipse breccia and drilled to the southwest to increase drill coverage for the Eclipse breccia (Figures 1 and 2). Mineralization is associated with chalcopyrite and minor bornite breccia cement. The hole started in granodiorite porphyry and intersected hydrothermal breccia from 28 m to 108 m followed by granodiorite porphyry to 131 m. The remainder of the hole to 187 m is in Glory Hole volcanics. The alteration in the breccia domain is quartz-sericite-pyrite with an interval from approximately 50 m to 70 m where tourmaline is abundant.
Drill hole FCD-24-051 was collared 250 m north of the Eclipse breccia and drilled to the southwest into the Ziltoid breccia (Figure 1). The hole intersected Glory Hole volcanics in the first 180 m, followed by 4 m of granodiorite porphyry. From 184 m to 247 m the dominant lithology is hydrothermal breccia. Alteration at the start of the breccia is sericitic but K-feldspar and biotite dominate from 190 m to the end of the hole.
Drill hole FCD-24-055 was collared southeast of the Eclipse breccia and drilled to the Northwest (Figure 1). The hole intercepted Glory Hole volcanics from surface to 49 m, followed by a series of granodiorite and monzogranite porphyries. From 136 m to 327 m the hole intersected hydrothermal breccia cemented by quartz, pyrite and specular hematite. Alteration within the breccia is intense quartz-sericite. Minor copper mineralization is associated with chalcocite near the upper contact of the breccia.
Keel West is the area between the Keel zone and Old Reliable. This area coincides with a prominent untested geophysical anomaly which extends westward from the known mineralization at the Mammoth breccia and Keel zone to below Old Reliable (Figure 3).
Drill hole FCD-24-053 was collared east of Old Reliable and drilled to the south-southeast (Figures 1 and 3). Mineralization is associated with bornite and chalcopyrite bearing veins with narrow sericite-biotite-K-feldspar alteration halos and the hole ends in mineralization. This type of bornite-rich, vein-hosted mineralization is known to be associated with high-grade mineralization and elevated gold grades at Keel and suggests the potential for other high-grade mineralized centers at depth below known near-surface mineralized breccias in the area.
Old Reliable was the site of small-scale underground mining for copper and molybdenum prior to World War II. Starting in the 1970s, an experimental in-situ leach operation recovered some of the near-surface copper oxide mineralization. The sulphide-hosted mineralization remains in place. During the 1990s, densely spaced vertical drilling led to resource definition to approximately 200 m below surface. Several of those drill holes end in mineralization and the resource is open at depth and laterally. Additional follow up drilling is planned for this area.
Drill hole FCD-24-054 was collared north of Old Reliable and drilled to the southwest (Figures 1 and 4). The hole was designed to test the westward extension of the mineralization outside of the open pit used to constrain the MRE. Mineralization is associated with disseminated and vein-hosted chalcopyrite within granodiorite porphyry. The drill hole intercepted Glory Hole volcanics from surface to 50 m and granodiorite porphyry to 208 m, returning to Glory Hole volcanics to 295 m and granodiorite for the last 12 m. Dominant alteration associated with the mineralization is sericite with kaolinite. Similar alteration is present in the Old Reliable breccia (as discussed in a news release dated April 10, 2024).

Next Steps
Phase III drilling continues and is focussed on three objectives:
  • Reconnaissance drilling on new targets;
  • Expanding the MRE; and
  • Better delineating high-grade mineralized zones.
As part of the Phase III program, twenty-seven drill holes have been completed and results for nineteen have been released. Thirteen holes were drilled in Area 51, three in the Copper Prince-Copper Giant area, eight in the Bald-American Eagle area and three near Old Reliable. Current focus of drilling is on the near-surface breccias in the American Eagle area.
Sampling Methodology, Chain of Custody, Quality Control and Quality Assurance
All sampling was conducted under the supervision of the Company's geologists and the chain of custody from Copper Creek to the independent sample preparation facility, ALS Laboratories in Tucson, AZ, was continuously monitored. The samples were taken as ½ core, over 2 m core length. Samples were crushed, pulverized and sample pulps were analyzed using industry standard analytical methods including a 4-Acid ICP-MS multielement package and an ICP-AES method for high-grade copper samples. Gold was analyzed on a 30 g aliquot by fire assay with an ICP-AES finish. A certified reference sample was inserted every 20th sample. Coarse and fine blanks were inserted every 20th sample. Approximately 5% of the core samples were cut into ¼ core and submitted as field duplicates. On top of internal QA-QC protocol, additional blanks, reference materials and duplicates were inserted by the analytical laboratory according to their procedure. Data verification of the analytical results included a statistical analysis of the standards and blanks that must pass certain parameters for acceptance to ensure accurate and verifiable results.

Os Mutantes - Os Mutantes (1968)
Os Mutantes was made up of Rita Lee, and the brothers Arnaldo Baptista and Sérgio Dias. In 1968 Os Mutantes released their debut album, were featured on the Tropicália Ou Panis Et Circenses compilation, and performed as the backing band for Gilberto Gil's self-titled second album. The Tropicália movement embraced taking international ideas and re-interpreting them, combining them to create something Brazilian. Os Mutantes will likely be a favorite for those who love psychedelic rock.

Gal Costa - Gal Costa (1969)
Another featured artist from the Tropicália Ou Panis Et Circenses compilation, Gal Costa released her debut album in 1967, and her follow-up self titled album in 1969. Gal Costa was close friends with both Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso as well as their spouses, and Gal Costa's bossa nova debut Domingo was a close collaboration with Veloso. By the release of Gal Costa we hear more of the impact of Tropicália and psychedelia on her sound. This self titled album features more songs from writers besides Veloso, including songs written by Gilberto Gil, Rosil Cavalcanti, Tom Zé, Roberto Carlos, Erasmo Carlos, Jorge Ben, and Torquato Neto.

Clube Da Esquina - Clube Da Esquina (1972)
The Clube Da Esquina name (Corner Club) refers to a corner of the street where Lô Borges used to live, and Borges and Milton Nascimento played for fun in the 1960s.
“I hope our young people don’t allow themselves to be swept up in this dictatorship business, because they don’t understand what it was like,” said [Milton Nascimento] who was stalked by agents from the notorious department of political and social order as his career took off in the 1960s. “Whenever we were going to release a song we had to send it to them for them to censor.” Eventually, Nascimento’s manager rented an isolated beach house where the musicians were free to compose the record of their lives. “It was wonderful … just us and the waves rolling up to our front door,” said Borges. “We weren’t thinking about selling millions of records or being the next big summer hit. We just wanted to make art.” Nascimento smiled as he recalled how that legendary album was conceived half a century ago, far from the prying eyes of the dictatorship. “It was a record made just by friends … We’d spend all day composing, from the moment we awoke with the fishermen bringing in their nets to the moment we went to bed.”

Novos Baianos - Acabou Chorare (1972)
By popular demand, Novos Baianos has been added to the rate mix! As suggested by their name, Novos Baianos were founded in the state of Bahia in 1969. During the making of Acabou Chorare, they were mentored by the "Father of Bossa Nova", João Gilberto. The album's title (translated as No More Crying) also came from a story about Gilberto's daughter.
Note: the album has two versions of Preta Pretinha, track 2 which is the full version and track 10 which seems to have been a radio edit. We are only rating the full version of the song.

Jorge Ben Jor is the first recorded artist of the five here, but A Tábua De Esmeralda is chronologically our latest recorded album of the rate. This one is arguably a concept album; influenced by the Hermetic text "The Emerald Tablet" as well as Jorge's interest in alchemy, and features songs focused on Afro-Brazilian identity such as "Zumbi".

I am not sure if I want to solve this issue actually, I just want to vent.
iX, what do you think yourself when you print out this error message to a "customer"?
I mean your installation of Kubernetes on a single host is crap and using helm charts that utterly break in an atomic chain reaction that way doesnt make it trustworthy. I am on the way to migrate nextcloud away again from TrueNAS to a docker host and just use TrueNAS as storage.
I dont care about sensible data down there, at the time of posting, this system isnt running anymore. Sorry if I annoy somebody.

I am considering building a local, physical GPU workstation due to high expenses of cloud. I did the math - a local cluster is going to cost me about a third that of a similar hardware setup in AWS. So I was wondering, if I deploy a LLM inference service in such a workstation, how many concurrent API requests can it handle (or how many concurrent users can it serve, in business terms) before it starts to throttle?
I came up with this formula, but I'm not sure if I've considered all the variables in the equation. So I'm posting it here for feedback.
Variables:
  1. G - Number of GPUs in the cluster.
  2. M - Memory per GPU (in GB).
  3. m - Memory required per model instance (in GB), including parameters, activations, and temporary data needed during computation.
  4. B - Batch size, which is the number of requests processed simultaneously by one model instance.
  5. T - Time it takes for one batch to be processed (latency, in seconds).
  6. C - Compute efficiency factor (ranges between 0 and 1, where 1 means 100% efficient use of GPU resources).
Considerations:
So the final formula is:
R = (G × M/m × 1/T × C) × B
Explanation:
Do you reckon the formula looks ok? If so, here is what a sample estimation for running a full unquantized 70B LLM on a cluster of 8 x H100 GPUs would look like:
Variables and assumptions:
  1. G (Number of GPUs) = 8
  2. M (Memory per GPU) = 80 GB
  3. m (Memory required per model instance) = 200 GB (rough estimate including model size, activation memory and miscellaneous memory requirements)
  4. B (Batch size): Common batch sizes for inference are relatively small to meet latency requirements. We'll assume B = 4.
  5. T (Time for one batch to process): This can vary widely, but let's conservatively estimate T = 0.2 seconds per batch.
  6. C (Compute efficiency factor): This accounts for overheads and inefficiencies. We'll assume C = 0.8 for high but not perfect efficiency.
This would give us:
R = (8 x 80/200 x 1/0.2 x 0.8) x 4 R = 51.2 concurrent API requests
Does this look correct?
\*P.S.*\** I realise that I did not include a variable in the formula for the number of tokens in an API request, which surely must affect the throughput of the system inversely. I'm not sure how the token size of a request increases the processing time, but let's assume a linear relationship - doubling the number of tokens in either the question to the LLM or the response from a LLM doubles the processing time. Then, the throughput of the system will be inversely proportional to the ratio of the token size of user requests to the average token size of requests, right? So let's create these 2 variables:
N_base - the average token size of LLM requests (including both the question and response)
N_t - the number of tokens in the user request (including both the question and response)
Then the formula for R should be multiplied by N_base / N_t :
R = G × M/m × 1/T × C × B x N_base / N_t
So, if that's correct, let's assume a value of 200 tokens for N_base and 500 tokens for N_t, and the throughput of the system for running inference on the 70B LLM would be:
R = 51.2 x 200/500
R = 20.5 concurrent API requests
I'm not sure what a good estimate for N_base should be. But does this calculation look ok, roughly?

I recently saw different people scale Insomniac Spider-Man to Massively Hypersonic+ speeds, but I personally think this is wrong and not true.
Let me allow to explain my reasons:
•Now the Massively Hypersonic+ scale mainly came from Electro, particularly by this statement that claim that Max is capable of shoot lighting blasts and since Peter is capable of dodge them he's MHS+ too.
•But Insomniac Electro's, unlike his comic counterpart, hasn't demonstrated that his blast are real/cloud to ground lighting, so I retain that Electro's attacks are electricity blasts, which are Hypersonic to Hypersonic+ in terms of speeds. To support this we saw during the battle against Sandman, in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Peter being hitted by two real lighting.
•Also during the comic run Marvel's Spider-Man: Velocity, Spider-Man had serious problems with a speedster girl, like he couldn't even see/perceives her, this is more clear in this scene.
•The speed difference was so big that Peter needed to be a specific suit to keep up with her, the Velocity Suit. But during their first battle the suit still wasn't fast enough to keep up with her, and Peter to actually keep up with her as seen later needed to upgrade the suit, only after this upgrade he was effectively capable to keep pace with Haley, the name of the girl.
Note: For reference during the first battle Haley wasn't even at his peak, since Peter and MJ trapped her in a storage for different hours so as to make her tired and slow down her
•But why am I talking about the Velocity storyline? Well basically the suit that Peter built to keep up with this girl goes to a million miles per hours, which is roughly Mach 1300, logically if Peter was a lighting timer he wouldn't have any problem to keep up with this girl since lighting have a speed of 440000 m/s or roughly Mach 1282.

Null Knives Voodoo with acidwashed M390 blade. She's currently wearing toxic storm carbon fiber scales, but comes with the originally mounted blue micarta ones. There are a few snail trails on the titanium bolsters and a few marks on the clip. I am at least the third owner, but the knife is in nice shape (acid wash helps hide any wear) and I have not carried or cut with it. Nice action, though it's not quite drop shutty.

Optimizing Hyperparameters for Language Model Fine-Tuning on Windows 10
EDIT: Apologies for not being clear. Using Windows 10, 64GB RAM, RTX3090, LM Studio. I can set up a conda if necessary.
I have several existing GGUF's that I really like. They work well on my machine. I'd like to find the sweet spot for settings that I can save to an LM Studio preset.json file. Rather than just diddle around with settings slowly, I was hoping that someone might have already created a github repo with a systematic method for discovering best settings of existing gguf files.
For example, I'm using lmstudio-community/Meta-Llama-3-70B-Instruct-GGUF/Meta-Llama-3-70B-Instruct-IQ2_XS.gguf, which can achieve about 3.2tok/s with everything default except tweaks to these settings:
n_ctx = 16384 n_gpu_layers = 64 rope_freq_scale = 0.85 rope_freq_base = 1000000
The context coherence lasts almost to the end of the context window, with reason becoming muzzy at about 13K, but the only discernable hallucination happening well into the 15K token range. Responses become predictably shorter after about 20 responses and then too short for an actual answer at about 30. It took me a lot of just diddling around to find these settings, but the end result is a reasonably long context with 3.2 tok/s at the beginning of the thread and about 2.9 at the end. It's almost as fast as reading aloud, so it's reasonable.
There are some even larger ggufs that work at 1.2 tok/s, but it's agony waiting for a response. The larger quant barely creaks along on my machine, but the outcome is superior to the IQ2_XS model. I'd love to try to tweak the preset parameters so I get the best response time possible for my machine, but I don't want to have to muddle through the settings manually.
The specific hyperparameters I want to optimize are:
  1. Context Length
  2. GPU Offload
  3. RoPE (Rotary Position Embedding) Frequency Scale
  4. RoPE Frequency Base
  5. Other suggested parameters ???
My previous understanding is that finding the optimal values for these parameters involves a process called Hyperparameter Tuning or Hyperparameter Optimization, often using techniques like Grid Search. I now understand that these are parameters for actually creating the gguf from the unquantized model. I'm not trying to fine tune a model. Rather, I'm trying to fine-tune parameter settings for an existing bake on my machine.
Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm looking for a git-hub repo with appropriate python scripting already crafted to do this work: basically chug through a grid of parameters to find the sweet spot for my machine and my preferred LLMs on LM Studio. I'd be grateful for a link. I'm all for easy-to-follow recipes, if you have them.

My husband works on N-scale railroad models. For years he has talked about a jeweler's apron that attaches to a table. I have not found anything like this on the internet. It's possible he is confused about an image he saw decades ago, such as a jeweler sitting at a bench that had a catch. All the same, this apron sounds very handy, and he has a birthday coming up. Sure would be nice to be the one giving a cool surprise gift.
