10 weeks on the boat now so still new and makes mistakes!
I was on shoreline for first 8 weeks.
I have been told I shouldn’t use my battery charger whilst off grid as it would be akin to using my batteries to charger themselves. Which makes sense.
I have been running the engine for 2 hours a day to charge them and have 200W solar. BUT should I be turning my Victron 12V/80A battery charger on whilst the engine is running? And then off when I turn the engine off?
I have bought new batteries thinking it was the problem as they never seem to stay at above 12V for long and we assumed they are dead. By the end of the day they can be at 10.5V at which point the inverter starts to beep at us. (I have not fitted in the new batteries yet but I need to learn how to use them first before I kill the new ones)
People have told me the batteries seem dead with this behaviour but now I am wondering is it because we’re not actually charging them when the engine is running if the charger is off?
So confused and my brain hurts 😂

I love my new T4 Kaleid (after sending the first back for a sticky button) but I have 2 major concerns with it I want to address.

unstable face buttons

I notice the face buttons on the T4k are a little loose and wobbly, because there is no metal gate securing them on the inside (like on the G7SE). Both of my devices were this way. It works and I wouldn't mind it so much, but my concern is the B button. Both of mine feel squishier than the other buttons, and the "travel" to release the switch has less tension. I also notice the B button has less little plastic pins on the side of the buttons on the inside that hold them in place, so it tends to lean when pushing it to the right. This wouldn't matter so much to me, but personally I flip the orientation of the face buttons to where B is A, so pressing the B button as my "action" button has me worried that I'm going to degrade it more or something and make it worse.
Are all Kaleids this way or did I get 2 iffy ones? The face buttons feel ok to press generally but B feels a little squishier and they all wiggle around, makes me scared to press them in a way so I don't degrade them. Can this be remedied by opening this up and doing some sort of fix to the buttons, applying something shaving something down etc?

stiff, poorly-actuating dpad

I do love this controller but my biggest disappointment with it is the dpad. I was expecting it to be great from what I've heard, there's even an article out there called "why Kaleid is my go-to for fighting games." our fan-favorite Gamerheaven gave them a 9/10. I do not mean this in a dramatic way but I personally think it may be the worst dpad I've used on any controller, I will explain why. It does not actuate the next direction properly to emulate an axis, you need to yank all the way left/right for the previous switch to release and the next to press. It's not just the way I use a dpad I know they are all different, but this one is unusable for most fighting games. You cannot just rock the dpad back and forth like 90% of dpads. When playing 2d Mario for example, I find it very hard to run foward and hold down to slide/crouch under blocks as big Mario (if you know you know)
This is not even the worst part though, the worst appears to be a design flaw- it gets stuck in its plastic housing when going from down-to-up. This was both of my Kaleids. If I hold down firmly, and quickly drag to up, it gets stuck on what feels like a plastic nub until I flick it back into place. This is bad for charge moves for example Guile's summersault, it makes it near impossible, and also pretty much impossible to do super moves example Ryu's down-forward-down-forward-punch (down-right-down-right rapidly) it simply does not register well based on my movement from the dpad unless I use 2 thumbs. It seems that the shape of the dpad isn't properly designed inside the plastic cutout of the faceplate, it restricts it way too much and inhibits quick directional changes. Because of this, I'm learning to use the analog stick for special moves and charge moves that go up for when playing on the Kaleid. I've used dozens of dpads over the years and have masters on nearly all SF6 ranked characters, to me the dpad is unusable.
It's not a dealbreaker because I have other fightpads for fighting games, but it was definitely the most disappointing part considering how much praise I heard for the dpad. Other than the dpad and questionably-secured face buttons, I do love this controller do death, so I'm willing to open it up and do a little work if that could make it better.

Lidar Mapping

Cartographer Introduction:

Cartographer is a set of SLAM algorithms based on image optimization launched by Google. The main goal of this algorithm is to achieve low computing resource consumption and achieve the purpose of real-time SLAM. The algorithm is mainly divided into two parts. The first part is called Local SLAM. This part establishes and maintains a series of Submaps through each frame of the Laser Scan, and the so-called submap is a series of Grid Maps. The second part called Global SLAM, is to perform closed-loop detection through Loop Closure to eliminate accumulated errors: when a submap is built, no new laser scans will be inserted into the submap. The algorithm will add the submap to the closed-loop detection.

How to operate:

Note: Before running the command, please make sure that the programs in other terminals have been terminated. The termination command is: Ctrl+c.
Note: The speed of limo should be slow in the process of mapping. If the speed is too fast, the effect of mapping will be affected.
First, start the LiDAR. Launch a new terminal and enter the command:
ros2 launch limo_bringup limo_start.launch.py 
Then start the cartographer mapping algorithm. Open another new terminal and enter the command:
ros2 launch limo_bringup limo_cartographer.launch.py 
After launching successfully, the rviz visualization interface will be shown in the figure below:

After building the map, it is necessary to save it. Three following commands need to be entered in the terminal:

Navigation framework

The key to navigation is robot positioning and path planning. For these, ROS provides the following two packages.
(1)move_base:achieve the optimal path planning in robot navigation.
(2)amcl:achieve robot positioning in a two-dimensional map.
On the basis of the above two packages, ROS provides a complete navigation framework.

The robot only needs to publish the necessary sensor information and navigation goal position, and ROS can complete the navigation function. In this framework, the move_base package provides the main operation and interactive interface of navigation. In order to ensure the accuracy of the navigation path, the robot also needs to accurately locate its own position. This part of the function is implemented by the amcl package.

Move_base package

Move_base is a package for path planning in ROS, which is mainly composed of the following two planners.
(1) Global path planning (global_planner). Global path planning is to plan the overall path according to a given goal position and global map. In navigation, Dijkstra or A* algorithm is used for global path planning, and the optimal route from the robot to the goal position is calculated as the robot’s global path.
(2) Local real-time planning (local_planner). In practice, robots often cannot strictly follow the global path. So it is necessary to plan the path that the robot should travel in each cycle according to the map information and obstacles that may appear near the robot at any time. So that it conforms to the global optimal path as much as possible.

Amcl package

Autonomous positioning means that the robot can calculate its position on the map in any state. ROS provides developers with an adaptive (or kld sampling) Monte Carlo localization (amcl), which is a probabilistic positioning system that locates mobile robots in 2D. It implements an adaptive (or KLD-sampling) Monte Carlo localization, using particle filtering to track the pose of the robot on a known map.

Introduction of DWA_planner and TEB_planner

DWA_planner
The full name of DWA is Dynamic Window Approaches. The algorithm can search for multiple paths to avoid and travel, select the optimal path based on various evaluation criteria (whether it will hit an obstacle, the time required, etc.), and calculate the linear velocity and angular velocity during the driving cycle to avoid collisions with dynamic obstacles.
TEB_planner
The full name of “TEB” is Time Elastic Band Local Planner. This method performs subsequent modifications to the initial trajectory generated by the global path planner to optimize the robot’s motion trajectory. It falls under the category of local path planning. During the trajectory optimization process, the algorithm takes into account various optimization goals, which include but are not limited to minimizing overall path length, optimizing trajectory execution time, ensuring a safe distance from obstacles, passing through intermediate path points, and complying with the robot’s dynamics, kinematics, and geometric constraints. The “TEB method” explicitly considers the dynamic constraints of time and space during the robot’s motion. For instance, it considers limitations on the robot’s velocity and acceleration.

Use the rviz tools to designate an approximate position for the vehicle, providing it with a preliminary estimation. Subsequently, use the handle tool to remotely rotate the vehicle until automatic alignment is achieved. Once the laser shape overlaps with the scene shape on the map, the correction process is concluded. The operational steps are outlined as follows:

ORBBEC®Dabai is a depth camera based on binocular structured light 3D imaging technology. It mainly includes a left infrared camera (IR camera1), a right infrared camera (IR camera2), an IR projector, and a depth processor. The IR projector is used to project the structured light pattern (speckle pattern) to the goal scene, the left infrared camera and the right infrared camera respectively collect the left infrared structured light image and the right infrared structured light image of the goal, and the depth processor executes the depth calculation algorithm and outputs the depth image of the goal scene after receiving the left infrared structured light image and the right infrared structured light image.

(1)First launch the LiDAR. Enter the command in the terminal:

2024.04.29 04:15 Cabarius Strat to beat Rulers of the Outer Worlds and get better at beating Hard Mode

Hi,
I tried to beat Rulers before my hard mode and tried a variety of strats and found it frustrating due to the RNG I experienced in the battle. I found the Brumal form strategies the most effective because they have a much shorter attempt time than others. Even so I just couldn't get the right sequence worked out on Sephiroth so I decided to go collect books and make my weapons stronger but in doing so I also decided to take the build that I was using and use it in my play through.

That video used ceremonial rod which gets 6 materia slots when it is maxed out but I did not have max weapons so I made it work with Plumose Rod and made a couple tweaks to this build that makes various things more stable and once I did those changes I beat it in 3 or 4 tries taking 3:52 min.

So I decided to use a template I found on itch.io for the credits (https://gaming-variety-potato.itch.io/renpy-credits-screen-ui-templates 2c) but made it its own screen that it jumps to after the story is over. I wanted it to scroll and stop scrolling on a mouse over, so people could click links. Ideally I'd love for it to return to main menu once the scroll is finished but I can't figure that out either. It took me forever to get it to be formatted how I wanted it to, and even scroll at all. (And I had some help with the scrolling, but they couldn't help further.) My code:

The process of biological and spiritual evolution is the process of progressing from lower dimensional reality fields into the higher field. This is done by “pulling higher frequencies” (Partiki grids from the higher dimensions) into our Particum-Partiki grid.
Evolution is the process of building up more complex Keylon Codes to increase the consciousness of any particular identity. You can do this consciously (more rapidly) or just let evolution take its course.
The process of de-evolve is to release Keylon Codes from any particular identity. You are either building Keylon Codes or tearing them down. Nothing is static.
The process of our evolution is much simpler if we understand that we have these units and that there are things we can do with the energy directed through our minds that can build into our own grids more complex Keylon Codes which will allow more of our highest consciousness to come in to our bodies and if we progress with this it will lesser the density of our bodies. 2024.04.28 23:59 strangest_timeline I realized something really obvious about enumeration today

I've been reviewing some basic enumeration and I finally figured out something really obvious that's confused me for ages.
One of the first things you learn in enumeration is what's usually called the "product rule": X x Y=X x Y for finite sets X and Y. At least, that's what I thought it was. I've been reading Loehr's book Bijective Combinatorics and he describes the product rule like this:
Suppose S is a set of objects such that every object in S can be constructed in exactly one way by making a sequence of k choices, where k is a fixed positive integer. Suppose the first choice can be made in n1 ways; the second choice can be made in n2 ways, no matter what the first choice was; and so on. In general, for 1 ≤ i ≤ k, suppose the ith choice can be made in ni ways, no matter what the previous choices were. Then the total number of objects in S is n1n2 · · · nk, the product of the number of choices possible at each stage.
At first this really annoyed me since it seems way wordier than it needs to be. A little later I was reading his proof of the "permutation rule", the basic fact that the number of permutations of a set with n elements is n!, which he proves with this product rule. That made me realize something super obvious: the set of permutations of a finite set cannot actually be written as a Cartesian product of sets, but it has the same size as a Cartesian product of sets, namely sets of size 1, 2, ... , n. The core of the argument is that for each choice you make, the number of choices for the next object is invariant, even though the objects themselves might not be (like they would be in an actual Cartesian product).
What the product rule is really saying is that if you can arrange a set of objects into a rectangular array (more generally, an n-dimensional box), then the size of this set is the product of the lengths of each side. Again, this is trivial. But sometimes it's not, since it might not be obvious at all how to do this. You need every space in the box to be filled with exactly one object, or in other words, a bijection to a finite Cartesian product. A lot of tricky enumeration problems are hard because you have to show that if you look at things in just the right way, then you can apply the product rule.
Another related (trivial) fact is that there's more than one way to count the objects in a rectangular grid. The two most obvious ways are counting rows first and then columns, or counting columns first and then rows. A huge number of double counting arguments basically come down to this observation. There's also nothing stopping you from counting a grid in more complicated ways. An example would be the way you prove the rationals are countable by enumerating them along the diagonals (this isn't a finite set, but it's a similar idea).
Later on in Loehr's book he gives a rigorous definition and proof of the product rule that's basically what I just wrote. This is one of those things that's not usually explained because it's so "obvious", but I think it would help a lot of people who have trouble with combinatorics not feeling rigorous enough.
Somehow I managed to get a master's degree in math and do some research in graph theory without ever really understanding this. Granted I didn't do anything involving enumeration. I guess reviewing the basics does pay off sometimes.
EDIT: Reread this and it sounds like I just took my first discrete math course lmao. I guess what I was trying to say is I realized that bijections are what's really important in enumeration and not the actual sets. To prove the permutation rule, you're really finding a bijection from the set of permutations to the set [n] x [n-1] x ... x [1], where [n] = {1, 2, ... , n}. This bijection encodes the way that each choice in your permutation affects the next available choices. For sets that are already cartesian products, you can just take the identity as your bijection.
Here's an actual bijection. Suppose X = n and let S be the set of permutations of X, written as ordered pairs. Given a = (a1, a2, ... , an) in [n] x [n-1] x ... x [1], define a permutation f(a) = (b1, b2, ... , bn) as follows:
b1 := a1. b2 := a2nd element of [n] \ {b1} (thinking of [n] and its subsets as ordered sets) b3 := a3rd element of [n] \ {b1,b2} etc.
For example, if n = 5, then (1,3,2,2,1) would get mapped to the permutation (1,4,3,5,2). This bijection is an algorithm that takes the first element of {1,2,3,4,5}, then the third element of {2,3,4,5}, then the second of {2,3,5}, the second of {2,5}, then the last remaining element 2.
This is one of those cases where the intuitive argument is easier to think about than using an explicit bijection.
Also I just noticed that chapter 6 of Loehr is about exactly this topic. That is, using algorithms to construct bijections between combinatorial objects.

2024.04.28 23:34 Skyweaver606 [Online][5e][Wednesdays, 5:30PM PST][18+] Looking for LGBTQ+ Friendly Players for a Roleplay Focused Homebrew Game!

Hey there! I'm Skye (she/they), and I'm looking for players for a new, long-term roleplay heavy 5e game! The game will take place in a homebrew, high-fantasy dungeonpunk style world. Things like magitek, artificers, and firearms will be present, though their availability and who has access to them will vary. I will plan on tailoring the adventure to whatever the majority of the party likes via poll, so I don't have major story points for now, aside that the campaign may largely be a freeform, character-focused campaign instead of one with an Overarching Big Bad.
While there will be established cities/countries/gods etc. I am very open to your own homebrew and you're always free to add whatever you want to leave your mark on the map!
Homebrew races (including those from other semi-canon D&D settings) are allowed within reason, though I will only allow classes from official books. I encourage roleplay, and this will be a heavy roleplay campaign, though combat will still be a feature. I'll be looking for around 3-4 players as I already have 1-2 interested players that I personally know. New players are absolutely welcome!
We'll be playing from 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM PST on Wednesdays. Sessions may run shorter, and won't often run longer. The time and date are non-negotiable.
I've DM'd before in the past, though this will be me returning to DM after a long hiatus, though I'm currently playing other DnD campaigns as a player. I may frequently have to check rules, or choose to rule against the book. I appreciate your patience as I dust off the cobwebs!
This campaign will be conducted on Discord for voice and Foundry VTT for rolling, character sheets, etc. There will be a way to import characters from DNDBeyond if you have access to the books. I'm still new to using Foundry, so things might be a bit slow at first though I'm happy to learn together with you if you're new! Despite me paying money for this fancy VTT, most day-to-day sessions will be theater of the mind, with dungeon exploration or combat moving to the grid.

Hello everyone,
I’m here to give hope to all the folks that hate Anki. I have tried anki off and on through the last two years and honestly hate it. It feels like a waste of time for me so here’s what I did.
Tested April 8 and passed.
Cbssa 29 December-62% 95% chance of passing. (This is without any step prep and just having done blocks through the first year and half of school USMD) Form 25 february- 72% Form26 march- 77% Form 28 march- 76% Old free 120, 10 days before exam-85% Form 31, 7 days before exam-84% New free 120, 4 days before exam-84%
UW approx 50% complete at 64% correct Amboss 70% complete at 87% correct
My percent correct for amboss is highly skewed because I would use the add-on for anki and study material and then do the relevant practice questions. Again, I did not use anki for study, just the amboss add on. Highly highly recommend this, this was so helpful!
I began dedicated in march, studied for four and half weeks. I was getting a close to pass/safe score before dedicated and here’s how:
I studied material in the blocks thoroughly! I looked at processes and themes. I did not memorize facts, I made flow charts and stories to explain things. I focused on quality over quantity. I did not ever move on pass something unless I I thoroughly understood it, I sent many many emails for extra explanations from professors. I used in house material first to get a basic understanding then I used pathoma and first aid, then I did the relevant questions on amboss from the zanki deck with the amboss add on. The only time I would skip material was if it was low yield or I truly couldn’t make sense of it then I kinda abandoned it (you won’t be able to understand everything and that’s okay)
I scored very well on in house exams doing this. I did not study at all over summer break. I used that as a time to solely recharge. Just chilled back home.
I used sketchy pharm and sketchy micro for hi yields only. (Antibiotics, cardio, renal drugs) and hi yield bugs.
Whenever we moved into a new block, I didn’t necessarily review old material. Instead I just reviewed stuff that related to what I was learning. EX: during neuro the anatomy went over the hypothalamus and pituitary, I briefly reviewed the hypothalamic pituitary axis from endocrine block. I did this throughout the years and I felt it was very helpful to review stuff that related to what I was currently doing. This was not a lot of stuff just a few concepts each week or so.
Dedicated: 5 weeks
Sketchy biochem and pixorize biochem- took about 2 weeks to do those thoroughly and used the first aid chapters on biochem to supplement and review
Pathoma from start to finish and read the pathoma text 2x through
Reviewed pharm and micro that I had already learned. I didn’t add much new material except biochem and biostats was basically starting from scratch for me.
So that’s it folks, I feel like where I was strong was having a good foundation from the start and learning things thoroughly and in a way that made sense to me. I had a lot of doubts bc of how much people push anki, but I often feel that you can memorize a card but not really understand it or the process so it only gets you so far.

2024.04.28 21:55 BaysideJr D&D Combat thoughts using all tools like TOTM, Combat Zones & Grid and I want your knowledge so I don't make the same mistakes.

I recently ran a couple of small one-shot dungeons with my group to learn the virtual tabletop as a group and how it all works. How I as the DM can upload maps, what's hidden and all the buttons available. We also learned how to use D&D beyond for encounters and the character sheet and built in dice. In running these one-shot map dungeons for testing purposes, I discovered something I wanted to get your advice on. I am someone who understands that things in life tend to have a flow from beginner to experienced. For example, a lot of people who get into board games just dive in headfirst and go crazy buying everything. Then they settle down and learn what they like and purchase those things. That flow from beginner to veteran, that comes from experience. I'll preface that my group loves grid combat as we are all big-time board gamers and play video games and MMOs. So, what did I discover?
 
As a beginner I found that running through a dungeon map where I didn't populate every single corner was strange. The players did something I probably should have expected. They moved their characters block by block based on their movement points. Even though I said there wasn't anything in those corners/rooms. So, they ended up moving block by block for multiple turns nothing happens because there wasn't everything in every corner of every hallway. I also used a map that had random stuff in the room just for looks and they sure as you know what tried to look at every pile of random crap. I made stuff up as I went along but as we were going through, I felt like you know what for 99% of this dungeon we should probably just use theater of the mind. Then for a boss fight set piece I would bust out the gridded combat. I recently came across Professor Dungeon Masters Ultimate Dungeon Terrain and Zoned Combat. So, this is the TLDR of my newbie thoughts and where I want you to tell me from you years of knowledge am I wrong in my thoughts? What don't I know from being so new at this?
 
If my dungeon session were a RAID in an MMO like world of Warcraft and I was in person. I would want the session to go like this
 
1) Walking through dungeon rooms and small encounters - Theater of the mind
 
2) Maybe a mini boss room or surrounded by a group with a leader - Zoned combat ala Prof Dungeon Masters Ultimate Dungeon Terrain
 
3) Raid boss like Onyxia, Ragnaros - Time to break out the MAP and gridded combat and Lair Rules.
 
The going through the map square by square just felt so unneeded and kind of pointless. When I ran the Pathfinder 1 beginner box Map that went a lot better with the square by square movement. Because they had no halls really and it was basically every turn you were in a new room. And while that was fun, it seems limiting in design in that sometimes there are long hallways of nothingness, right? Nothing is so small and tidy. Sometimes you walk a lot to get to an interesting room. Or maybe the map I made was just poor and should have had more rooms of encounters and no halls. Hopefully I explained my thoughts well enough to get some feedback and learn from someone else has gone from these beginner thoughts to veteran who has this all down pat.

2024.04.28 21:52 Retired-Hippie Struggling, Badly.

I just want to start this by saying I do have fun and I really enjoy this Sim. But, with that said, I'm struggling really badly in it. I've been playing for a bit over a month now, and have sank a good 2-300 bucks into content. I realize in the grand scheme of things, I'm still very new, however it's hard not to look over at the next guy, and the guy next to him, and compare. In a sense, I know what I'm doing wrong, but more often than not it's not the reason why. It seems no matter what I do, be it Start in the pits, or qualify and start in the top 3 on the grid, I'm constantly losing iRating +/or SR.
I take things SLOW more often than not. I don't try pushing the cars to their grip limit or attempt any overtaking. I try to keep my distance from remotely everyone, and if im caught up in a heard of people i play it safe and respectfully. But even trying to be as cautious as i can be, I ALWAYS END UP SIDEWAYS OR OFF THE TRACK. I rarely get into collisions either, doing my best to never cause them, and trying to avoid them like the plague. When I do attempt to actually race, I'm close to being DQ'd within a few laps, by that point i'm also being lapped usually by the 'alien(s)' in the pole positions, and my lap times are always ~10 Seconds slower.
I've managed to get myself out of Rookie class road racing (Road is my main and favorite category to run) only to essentially get punted down to 1.xx SR and floating around 150-250 IR. I'll occasionally have a good match, gain a nice .2 SR and whatever IR it gives, to just turn around and lose it all plus some in the next.
Now, I know about the whole "These things take time", or "Some people are just naturally talented", but like, I feel as if I'm getting worse as time progresses. My lap times are stagnant, my IR is plummeting, and I feel my internal drive dwindling.
What could i possibly be doing wrong? Is it just me? Is anyone else going through this too? ):

Edit- You all are amazing. Thank you everyone for the input and I’m sorry if I can’t reply to everyone. A few things I wanna throw in: 1- I might not have worded the second paragraph too well… it’s not that I don’t actually race, it’s just that I take things slower than a full send pace due to being nervous about off track incidents, even though they’re gonna come regardless. 2- Practice. Yes, I do. Very often too. I’ll often be doing time trials and AI Single player races trying to improve upon the previous lap. 3- Content. I do realize I’ve spent a lot on tracks and cars but it’s more tracks than the latter. I have my 2-3 series that I stick with religiously, and I don’t often switch up cars to where I’m trying to learn say 4-5 cars at a time. I just enjoy some diversity in my choice when it comes to multi car series, and being able to run different time trials/attacks if I wish to. Also, my setup is a Logitech G920 Wheelbase, I mounted the pedals to my floor inverted, and single monitor.

2024.04.28 21:24 hiper2d Axis setup advice for 12-15 kt wind

Hi everybody. I would appreciate a little advice on a wingfoil setup. I have 2 foil sets:
  1. Axis BSC 970 front wing (1500 sq sm, classical low aspect), Axis 390 rear wing, short red fuse
  2. Axis Art999 front (1000 sq sm very high aspect), Axis Skinny 360/45 rear wing, crazy short advance fuse
I feel like there is a huge gap between them. The first setup is fine at 10-15kt (for 10kt I also have PNG 1150 but I don't use it that often now). I can up and ride, I can gybe (well... in 50% of cases) on it easily. I can go with it in 15 and even 20 kt but I feel like it is too slow. Up to the point until I cannot handle it even with my 4m hand-wing. The second setup is too hard for me now. It is a huge transition in all three parts. Are there any Axis experts here who could recommend me a setup to fill the gap between my two? And also to help me to learn how to use the second setup
I thought about HPS 1050-980-930, maybe ArtPro 1201 as a front wing, and the biggest Skinny 365/55. Maybe a Progressing rear wing like 375-400-420 will be better, not sure. I need something ideal for 12-15kt in flat water. I'm 65-70 kg with an 88L board and 4-6m wings, if this is important. There is the Art1099 on sale in my area at a really good price, but I think it is too close to the 999 and won't serve my purpose. As of 1201, that would probably be really nice to have but it is too new, meaning I won't find it used at a good price. So most probably HPS is more realistic
Another question about masts. I have a 70 sm Axis aluminum mast. I don't consider a carbon mast yet since it is way to expensive. But I see that aluminum masts are quite cheap. I think of buying 90 sm aluminum mast for choppy days because I waves make me fall because of breaching quite often. Is it worth it? I have no idea what to expect of a longer mast. It's an extra height but also extra weight and maybe other disadvantages I don't yet know about. Are there conditions when a shorter mast is still better? There are 16mm and 19mm Axis aluminum masts - what is the difference? It probably should match my current base plate if I don't want to buy a new one, but I'd like to understand which one is better. Does it make sense to look and cheapest Axis carbon masts? They have 3 series of carbon masts at very different prices

I’m pretty positive the answer to this is pretty straightforward but my administration has me feeling crazy.
I work in a small public charter district. I teach elementary aged students who are on the spectrum. Obviously there are varying level of needs, but overall they have significant language processing delays(both receptive and expressive) and require significant sensory diets. All of my students’ placements are partial-inclusion (ie they are in a general education homeroom with lots of opportunities to participate with their peers and then come to me for modified instruction and curriculum based on their individual needs.) I work closely with the families and related service providers to tailor instruction and behavior plans based on each students’ individual profile.
A handful of my students are in 4th grade and will be transitioning to our “district’s” middle school next year. I used to be an assistant principal at the middle school before I transitioned back to the classroom so I’ve consulted a lot with the principal and leadership team about creating a similar program to the one I’ve created at the elementary school to support my students when they transition to grades 5-8. We drafted a plan together with related service providers that meets their current IEP service delivery grid and continues to provide them both access to general education an academic instruction modified for their needs.
The principal that I’ve worked with at the middle school isn’t coming back and the “chief of schools” is stepping in for next year planning. Just learned on Friday that despite agreeing to the initial plan we drafted, she is now planning on moving them to either full inclusion or full sub-sep programming. She had not shared this with me until I repeatedly I emailed despite me being their case manager. I have a meeting with her tomorrow to discuss.
She is not allowed to change their placement, right? She was not a member of the IEP team, nor is their any data or parental push to warrant a change of placement. I feel like I’m going crazy because she’s acting like it’s the simplest thing in the world.

Completely New to Onshape - looking for someone to tell me the words I need to know, to search for how to do the things I want to do. i.e I don't know the nomenclature.
Starting simply: I'm modelling a piece of furniture I want to build, to hold/house many copies of an Item.
For simplicity: Imagine I've modeled a matchbox (wow), and now I want to model a very simple 5x5 "grid" furniture to hold 25 matchboxes for display...
I've modeled the object I want in a sketch, and extruded it etc, all looks good:
My question is "How do I take the model from a sketch, and import it (many times) into another sketch(?), i.e to build the furniture around multiple repetitions of this "sub object"?
If someone could please translate the above question using the correct jargon, that would be most helpful. (Also, if you have a quick general answer that would be great too - or some pointers as to what I should search for / learn about)
