So I made this comment to another person's post recently about her feeling annoyed at the teachestudent relationship in Maxton Hall and that it wasn't being properly addressed as toxic. I agree. But that's hardly my only issue with the show. Because a lot of really young people are into these genres, I feel the need to address these points as someone who's actually lived the Ruby/James storyline, different ways and multiple times. A veteran, one might say. You can take my statements as a grain of salt, or whatever you like, but may those who have ears listen:
Spoilers throughout if someone hasn't finished the season:
This is the thing...I actually find the lead actors cute and super talented even despite this being a genre that I find deplorably predictable and drab. I actually only got invested to improve my German, sadly now I'm actually invested in the characters at this point despite me seeing everything that's going to happen a mile away, because a lot of these writers who may actually be creative but stifle it for the sake of hashing out another "proven to make money" storyline that has been recreated time and time again. Yes, the teachestudent situation is problematic not because they're both consenting individuals who or of age, but because apparently they knew each long before which hints that she would've most likely have been a minor when the relationship took form. Maybe people who have read the books can shed better light on the matter.
Beyond that, my biggest issue with these common bad boy meets good girl trope shows beyond how oversaturated the romance world is with these stories (damn, not even a reversal like good boy meets bad girl), is the very negative expectations they put on real girls out there. These stories fuel the idea that they "can fix him" and even those overly toxic traits he possesses should be downplayed in some way, and even the slightest redeemable qualities he shows should be made out as holy. This is one of the large reasons I hate this genre. For example, despite James's slight transition in S1 (and yes, I'm fully aware that he will most likely continue to change for the better in some ways), to say I think Ruby deserves better is an understatement. Women/girls keep fawning over the swimming pool scene where he saves Ruby, but I was honestly pissed at him for this whole catastrophic scenario and how it unfolded. Firstly, he invited her to this godforsaken hive of scum and villainy of a party despite him knowing full well this is not normally her scene, ignores Ruby's actualized fears of pupils teasing hedisliking her for being with James, and gives her an invitation into the lion's den thinking she'll come out unscathed? For someone who hints at himself having an impressive GPA, I'm not impressed by his lack of logical deduction. When viewed from this perspective, the blame of Ruby getting pushed into the pool and being triggered into a panic attack that nearly got her drowned largely rests on James's shoulders, especially as one of the sole people at that party claiming to "care" about her. Despite this, no open moment from James of reflection of responsibility for what took place there and nothing even remotely resembling an apology not even the following morning of the incident, but rather even gave off the impression that it wasn't even that big of a deal. He sent a text asking if she was doing better (not even the first text the following morning, mind you), and that was the end of that. Not a question or care more before a slew of flirting between the two. Of course, at that point Ruby is already infatuated with him, so it makes little difference. But to someone from the outside looking in, the selfishness and ambivalence is glaringly obvious.
It's an ongoing theme in S1 that apparently getting apologies out of James is like pulling teeth (another highly toxic masculinity trait that we need to stop treating with humor or something "enduring" when interest is involved). I believe I counted him saying it only twice in the last episodes and it was always backed by some sort of excuse "but I did it because I was embarrassed by my parents...sorry, but I can't...my father...etc." In reality he's been needing to give proper apologies since the show began, but the moment he finally formulates the words, it's always accompanied by some excuse? Immaturity. What was the topper on the cake for me and an ultimate red flag (yes, yes...it's fantasy, a show...but in real life, run for the hills), he continues to take decisions that should normally involve both of them, into his own hands and gravely gauging her whims wrongly in these situations. First with the poster of them, then again ending the relationship in order to "protect" her. He's very creative at finding solutions when it's getting back at Ruby for things in the beginning, but now he's just willing to throw in the towel anytime he has to fight for their relationship? Again questioning his logical capabilities and even his intentions at this point. Perhaps it's actually just rooted in him being afraid of commitment after a life of whoring himself out to hush people up or a slew of one night stands which has left him detached? If not, as I suspect it isn't, a form of self-sabotage due to his father's hold on him. I know it's most likely the latter, and as relatable and sad as that may be, this is catastrophic and needs therapy to get resolved. Rose-tinted romance isn't going to fix that (trust me, speaking from experience, girlies). And to make matters worse, I can read the handwriting on the wall from the last episode ending, that James is liable to take matters into his own hands again and hurt Ruby because he keeps trying to decide what HE thinks is best for HER life. I'm not a teen or in my early twenties watching this show, so I tend to view these from a mother hen type of perspective. If you see a guy like James Beaufort, it might be entertaining on TV or film, but in REAL life, run for the hills unless you have written proof he's attending therapy and counselling for his issues and start seeing a difference. My interest in the show is starting to wane after already guessing (like most things in this show and others of its genre) what's coming next season...such as James getting cold feet, taking executive control of their relationship again and bailing...very sure. I don't even need to read the books for that. I've lived this, girlies.
Hopefully, the writers exceed my expectations and do something unexpected. As I said in another post, it wouldn't be the most drastic of plot twists, but make the chauffeur the old flame James's mother was alluded to and have James secretly be his kid, which would give light on why he acts like a father figure (or at least the closest positive one James has) and his passionate defense of James. That would maybe keep me invested and one my toes knowing there are actually all these secrets being unraveled. Okay, anyway, that's my rant on this. That was waaay too long. Bye.

Love
What is love? Love according to google is “an intense feeling of deep affection” or “a great interest and pleasure in something” . Love, according to me, is something everyone desires either your 70 or 15 even i want love you probably want love too. True love might be something you’ve experienced or not for me. I haven’t even experienced the feeling of “hey i like you” maybe you have or you haven’t. I know people who thought or have or had love,love in my opinion love is only have not thought or had. The thought of someone loving you is something magical and knowing someone loves you is even better. When we talk about somebody loving us your partner might come to mind which is what i’m talking about so if your thinking about your mom or dad not loving you go find another essay about “love”. Everyone has had a crush and the feeling of their crush liking them back but then there’s people like me. People like me are people who’ve crushes never have liked them back. There's so many reasons me and my crushes haven’t worked out. The big three on why they don’t like you back 1. They never knew, 2. They think you’re ugly, 3. They simply don’t like you. There’s obviously more possible reasons but those are the big three. As you can see i'm talking about like,liking is where everything begins you don’t go up to someone saying “hey i love you” so if you didn’t know that’s how it works. I’ve had so many crushes guess how many have like me back?...None. There's many reasons why and I remember the exact reason why for all of them let’s start off gentle Walker scobell. He doesn't know I exist which is okay because either way he’s a lot older then me. Ok now where things might hit hard I’m not going to say all of them because it might hurt my feelings lol. Top reason is they found out and thought i was ugly or weird that’s mostly the reason for all of them except the old one or deep down i know i still like him but that's besides the point. He got with my best friend at least she didn’t ask him out he did at the moment I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse. When it first happened i hated myself for thinking it could be but now it’s just a stiff feeling down my throat enough, about me lets get to the topic. One common theme one sees across Reddit and other apps is that many Muslim brothers and sisters give fatawa with NO sources, and NO knowledge of what they’re speaking about. I see so many people saying “I think such and such is good” “I think such and such is halaal/haraam but I’m not totally sure” “it’s fine if you do this” and similar replies. This is not a joke.
Al-A'raf 7:33

Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be questioned (by Allah).
Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
Qataadah said: Do not say, “I saw” when you did not see, or say “I heard” when you did not hear, or “I know” when you do not know, for verily Allah will question you about all of that.
What we may conclude from their comments is that Allah, may He be exalted, forbids speaking without knowledge; in fact He forbids speculation or suspicion, which is based on imagination. End quote.

My (24M) mother (52F) is a piece of work, to put it plainly. My Dad filed for divorce during the pandemic, and all of us (myself, dad and 2 adult siblings) are NC with her. Every event or holiday, my mother would make a bunch of "woe is me" posts on Instagram. For years, we all just ignored it and blocked anyone who sent us DMs, telling us to "forgive and forget". We haven't blocked our mother because she threatened to hurt herself if we did, so it became a sort of tradition that one person would "stand guard" and let everyone know when she starts posting so that people can turn on Do Not Disturb and enjoy the day uninterrupted.
Last week was my younger sister's 21st Birthday, and our mother took to Instagram with more posts saying how my sister "robbed her" of being able to celebrate, and the fact that none of her kids invited her means that were all "ungrateful". I was pissed that our mother was so determined to ruin my little sisters birthday, so I commented on her post, saying "You remember when I was 13, and you threatened to sue me for defamation because you read the part of my diary where I talked about you, and even pretended to call the police to "take me to jail"? Your ungrateful child remembers." After that, I turned my phone off and went back to celebrating with my family.
Once the festivities died down, we all turned off Do Not Disturb and saw that there were dozens of DMs from our mother and various people (who we assume are her friends) making wild accusations about me, saying that my dad put me up to it, etc etc. Everyone turned to me, asking what the hell I did, and after I explained it, my dad told me that I should've stayed silent to keep the peace. I retorted, saying that this wouldn't have happened if we all just blocked mom from the start, and that I refused to sit of my hands as she called my sister names.
Long story short, we had an impromptu family meeting and decided to just bite the bullet and block her. I think the workaround we used worked for a time, but now it just gives her a way to hurt us from a distance. My siblings understand why I commented, and my older brother told me that he'd have probably done the same, but my dad says that I lit more fires than I put out. A treaty that ended thousands of years of bloodshed and horror that came into focus for humanity in the past 50 years. Oddly enough, you both decided on a campaign in the vein of an election, one that is between the Empusa, vampires for the common human knowledge, and the Lycanthropes also known as werewolves. This will consist of a 3-night debate between Mr. Olaf Corvin for the Lycans and Ms.Elisabetha Harkin for the Empusa. At the end of the 3 nights, humanity will vote on either side on who is the dominant species, thus eliminating the other and holding power over us all. This first night will be for Mr. Corvin and the Lycan’s then the 2nd night will go to Ms. Harkin for her argument for the empusa. This being the first night we shall start with you, Mr. Corvin. So I’ll start with the question all of humankind wants to know. Just to be clear beforehand:
· I am a 100% sure he is single and not dating his ex
I (27F) met this man (26M) a couple months ago on a datingapp. I remember it saying in his bio that he was looking for something casual, at that point I didn’t know what I was looking for so I just sent him a message. We bonded over the fact that we both just got out of a long term relationship, we were both single for 2 months at that point after 4.5-5 years of dating (very coincidental but nice to bond over that LOL). He was very open and honest and also told me that he is still living with her at this point (it’s not easy to find a new place in the capital of our country). What I noticed is that this man was very honest, for example, he shared that he had a STD and that he has kissed guys (which could definitely be a dealbreaker for some girls). While it was clear that he was looking for casual, I did notice that after a short while he would text me at 7am when he woke up, and he literally talk the whole day. Also when he was working he would text me all the time. I started really liking him.
We had a strong attraction, and I was the one making very flirty and sexual comments. We would tease each other and couldn’t wait till the moment that we could meet up and have sex. After talking 24/7 for 3 weeks, we had our first date. We very both very nervous, and I remember him saying that he normally doesn’t get nervous so that this was weird for him. I sometimes did get the feeling that he started to like me a little more than only for casual. The date went great, and I think we really hit it off. We just talked for hours about our life and interests. We went from bar to bar just talking, and I remember saying that I had to at a certain point because I paid for my parking until a specific time. It was just a 10 minute walk. What made me certain that he liked me enough for a second date is when he offered to just keep talking, and that he would pay for my fine (100$) when I got one. He has a good job (therapist) so definitely has a good income but that amount of money is also a lot for him. Of course I declined LOL but I remember being flattered.
The day after I remember saying that he decided after the date to only focus on me, and that he would like it if I did the same. He also said that he was a “one girl kind of guy”. On the first date he also made me promise jokingly, yet serious, to at least go on 5 dates with each other. At tis point, it was clear that we found each other very attractive and that we really want to sleep with each other. Date two was also a lot of fun and at this point I really started to like him. The day after, he asked me for a third date. We kept taking initiative with conversations all the time. It would be very flirty and sexual sometimes, but also about anything and everything. I remember that sometimes I would try to be very flirty and he would direct the conversation to other stuff (like family), which was interesting to me, but I think he just really liked me. I am very cautious, and am really scared of the dating scene especially hearing all the ghosting, manipulating, whatever shit that happened to people around me so I was really analyzing anything and everything he was saying but there did not seem to be any red flags. My friends and older sister were sure he was falling in love with me based on the information I shared.
One night we were on the phone and I remember him hanging up suddenly when his ex entered their home. He already told me that he would have to end the conversation if this happened. After the conversation I remember him being kind of scared that I was annoyed that his ex is affecting our situation, but I explained that I understand and think it’s very respectful that he’s not rubbing it in her face that he’s talking to someone new. The day after he shared that he realized he wants to really separate wit this ex, and that he initiated a conversation about one of them moving out. I remember being like: oh he really likes me since little situation made him take action.
Throughout all of this, I would sometimes joke and make non-casual comments, in the beginning he was clear that he was not ready for that. After a while I remember him saying that these jokes were not scaring him (anymore). At this point I really liked him, and wasn’t sure if I was going to be happy with only being casual, and we had multiple conversations about this. The conversations went from ‘I really only can do casual at this point so if we’re not at the same page, we need to be clear and end it so no one gets hurt’ to ‘I wanted casual but at this point I am not sure, I really like you and I think it’s likely that I would want a serious relationship with you’. He was very clear and open about the fact that he was confused and was trying to figure out what he really wanted. A very important note: I noticed from the beginning on that this is a very conscientious, analytical person that thinks things through. From the beginning, I was also very clear that I could develop feelings, and that if I did and wanted more, that I would really like it if he would respect me enough to tell if he wasn’t in that place. He promised he would be honest. At this point there was no indication that he was dishonest about anything so I tried to just trust him on this.
I think at this point we’ve been talking for 3 weeks, and of course, I start to really like him. To me, it’s clear that he really likes me too. We did not have sex at this point. I started to catch feelings and asked him how to prevent falling in love. He responded that he had the same, and that at this point he is not even sure that this something he wants to prevent anymore. However, he was still reflecting on this situation and honestly it would be kind of weird to rush into a new relationship after being involved with someone else for so long, he was also living with her, and we do not live near each other so the situation was not in our favor.
Note: at this point we did not have sex yet. The sexual connection was definitely there though, and it was clear for both of us that on date 3 we would have sex.
One night, he had a party that he was really looking forward to. The day after he called me and kind of broke things off with me. He explained that this party made him realize that being single/having freedom is what he wants at this point. He was honest about finding other women attractive at this party (he volunteered the information that he did not find the girls more attractive than me), and that he did not flirt with them because we were talking, but that he would’ve liked that and would’ve liked to just have fun without the commitment. He said that he really liked me, and that if he kept talking to me and if we would continue to mee up, he was sure that he would fall in love and that he is just not ready for that at this point. He shared that he only wants to get in a relationship if he thinks he can give himself fully, and that at this point he’s just not there yet. During this conversation, he realized that this situation also happened with his ex that we dating for 5 years: they really liked each other, but he didn’t feel like he could give his all to her, so he didn’t commit. However, they still kept in contact (studying the same thing), couldn’t really keep away from each other and still had sex. This continued for a while until he felt ready to give himself fully, and that’s when they got official. I asked him if he also sees that happening with me, he said he did but that he couldn’t promise that 100%. I thanked him for his honesty, but couldn’t understand: all the signals were there that he really liked me and was very invested. I also told him that I was afraid I was being naïve to believe what he was saying, as I heard this exact situation happen to every girl ever (the bullshit cliches like “you deserve better”, “I need to work on myself”) and that it didn’t make sense what he was saying like: “I like you. I like you so much that if we would keep meeting, I will fall in love. Therefore, let’s stop talking.” However, at the same time I felt like I could trust him, based on the fact that he cut if off BEFORE we had sex. He literally could’ve waited another five days, had sex with me, and then cut if off. But at this point he didn’t get any.
This guy is not a fuckboy, I am sure of that. I have a specific type. He is the exact type like my ex, there is no fuckboy bone in their body.
We ended it. I let him know that he could contact me whenever he is ready for something serious, but that I would also keep dating and go on with my life.
My question to you guys is, and you can be harsh:
· Am I delusional, and is this quite literally every situation ever and does it come down to “I am not ready to a relationship… WITH YOU” or does it make sense what he’s saying? I just don’t understand letting someone go you like so much, think is so beautiful and interesting. It just does not make sense. However, at the same time, everything that he is and said did indicate that he really values “doing the right thing” and is really strict on himself. Im (23F) not really fatigued, as I love my job and people dont demand a lot from me there (I know what burnout feels like and this is not it).
But everyday after work hours I feel like im going to throw up and this feeling only gets better the day after when I wake up. I feel like there is something wrong with the bright white lights from the ceiling and the monitor where I work as they actually make my eyes burn a little but I cant do anything about that as I need to work in person at that building. I cant change computers as im only an intern, so I have zero say in anything.
Even if it was the bright lights, what doctor do I even go to? I dont feel like this is a problem they could solve but this is starting to hit my life a lot as I need to get back home to start studying (im still a uni student afterall) and I cant cause if I read anything my eyes hurt and I feel like throwing up. Being in the dark helps a lot too, even when im not sleepy.
I tried googling what it could be so I could just take a pill and chill or if I needed a doctor and the one thing I found was cybersickness. But still, it doesnt really resonate cause I spend 12+ hours in my computer at home sometimes (playing games or studying) and I dont feel like this AT ALL, this only happens after work.

I (27F) met this man (26M) a couple months ago on a datingapp. I remember it saying in his bio that he was looking for something casual, at that point I didn’t know what I was looking for so I just sent him a message. We bonded over the fact that we both just got out of a long term relationship, we were both single for 2 months at that point after 4.5-5 years of dating (very coincidental but nice to bond over that LOL). He was very open and honest and also told me that he is still living with her at this point (it’s not easy to find a new place in the capital of our country). What I noticed is that this man was very honest, for example, he shared that he had a STD and that he has kissed guys (which could definitely be a dealbreaker for some girls). While it was clear that he was looking for casual, I did notice that after a short while he would text me at 7am when he woke up, and he literally talk the whole day. Also when he was working he would text me all the time. I started really liking him.
We had a strong attraction, and I was the one making very flirty and sexual comments. We would tease each other and couldn’t wait till the moment that we could meet up and have sex. Ascalamualkum everyone. Just want to share what I feel, cause I feel really down from the past few days. Idk what I want from this, just want to post it lol, will delete probably like always I post and feel like 2 hours later, I'm being un thankful.
I'm not complaining at all, just want to share my feelings.
Idk what it is but I really have like nostalgic feelings. I miss my old days, and just beings tears in my eyes to think about it. It's like my chest is heavy.
About 3-5 years ago, it's so dumb but I used to have a group chat. I made it on Instagram and got some random people to join. I was like 16ish, didn't know all the rulings of islam and talking to girls and all. I made it and it was like Corona virus time, online classes and all. So I would talk all day, joke, troll, that was like it gave me so much happiness. Like I would wake up for classes and be so excited to massage the group and see what everyone talked about while I was sleeping. I don't know anyone in real life from that group. Want want to tell the names but their were people from 🇿🇦🇨🇦🇮🇳🇵🇰🇸🇦🇺🇸🇬🇧🇦🇫.
Everyone was like 16-20 ish lol.
It was so nice man. After I realized like 2 years later or a year and a half later that it's wrong to talk to females and all, I was like I gotta stop. So I left the group. But then i just couldn't leave, I got back, I left again, and someone added me back, and so on for some time. Eventually I was like I gotta just leave, i started on my prayers and was trying my best, fasting and all, giving dawah etc.. I eventually just left one day. The people kept adding me back but I keep leaving without messaging. Tbh it hurts. I texted my friends evtually like I dont want to talk, but I just felt so down, I would send like salam, how are you to them, would be so happy like they will reply. It's not even about girl or boy, it's just for all of them I felt so happy. Evtually i asked them all the girls like can you delete my chats, and they said sure. One of them would every now and then ask how are you, I'd just keep it simple and reply back. I would get the urge idk why to just ask how they are, I would send the message, 10 mins later check it and unsend it.
Idk why, I still remember stuff from the group. Things we talked about, the people, and even their @s.
Am I just stupid? I feel so dumb and stupid to be crying over that. Idk why I think about it. I just miss it. English isn’t my first language so please go easy on some of my word choices.
I am not terrified of dogs in a way that it affects my life. I tried to explain in my post, maybe poorly.. but despite my past with them, I love dogs. We want to get a dog too. Big off leash dogs however, make me really nervous. Specifically scenarios like the incident I described in the post (and there were other incidents too that I did not describe, but just said “it happened twice before”). I promise my fear is not irrational. It is valid. I am not the type of person who overreacts or wants to ever make waves or have issues with anyone. I actively try to avoid this. My fiancé isn’t a hotheaded person by any means either. I made my post because I initially felt uncomfortable about the course of action he took. But based on comments, it seems his was not an abnormal response.
Both dogs are the cane corso breed. They are huge.
The dogs seem friendly— but more than that they seem really unpredictable. They don’t follow through with commands and recall. They do bark and show aggression sometimes, because they are territorial. In a comment I shared my neighbor said they are used to wandering on our property because our property was unoccupied previously (it’s a new build). So maybe they see it as their territory?
They have barked at myself and my fiancé in the past. It’s like a threatening type bark.. their posture reflects a guarding mode or alertness. They also jump, including jumping on their owner. They have tried to jump on me once in the past because I was holding something.. I quickly knew to put my hand with the object down. So a close call has happened before. I’m fairly petite and I could definitely see myself getting knocked off balance if one of them jumped on me. I worry about this a lot as I get further along in my pregnancy.
The laws where we live state dogs must be leashed or confined to the owners property. Just because it’s a rural area doesn’t mean it’s lawless. Most people here are responsible dog owners with well trained dogs.
Not everyone in this area has full perimeter fences because there’s lots of distance and privacy with the natural landscaping. Still… people keep their dogs on their own properties. When they walk their dogs, it’s on leash. If by chance you run into an off leash dog.. when the owner sees someone approaching, the dog goes back to the owner or back on leash. This is how I see people on trails here doing it. Why does this neighbor feel so entitled? If his dogs can’t be recalled … he should never risk off leash.
My fiancé made every respectful attempt to communicate with the neighbor and outline all of our concerns clearly BEFORE the warning shot occurred.
The neighbor has never shown that same respect to us, and he made no changes in his attitude or behavior or attempts to keep his dogs from wandering. He even told me once that I don’t “look” pregnant.
My fiancé has always addressed him calmly and spoken to him professionally. This includes the day he fired the shot. He has never so much as swore at my neighbor or raised his voice at him but I can’t say the same for the neighbor, who I could hear swearing and shouting from indoors. All of his interactions with my partner have been overtly aggressive and angry. My partner is always calm. He is known amongst his colleagues for his calm demeanor.
That night.. he was again getting in my fiancé’s face so my fiancé firmly asked him to leave. He did let him know next time he will shoot his dogs. Neither me nor my partner want the dogs to be hurt and hope it never gets to that.
I have an officer from animal control now who I can call if they come into our property again but if the dogs came at me and my fiancé were to shoot them, the police said my fiancé would be within his right to do so. It sounds really harsh guys, but it’s allowed. It doesn’t mean I want that.
I would have even tried to make friends with his dogs on my own terms … but the neighbor didn’t let us have good introductions. This is on him. Not me.. especially when I’m minding my own business on my deck or whatever and dogs come at me out of nowhere. It’s truly scary. I described a scenario where they came charging at me but didn’t attack me in the end. It was a best case scenario and I got really lucky. So many people have a story like this where they weren’t lucky. I really didn’t know in that moment what was going to happen to me. And it was terrifying.
Anyways now the bridge between us neighbors is totally burned. So I hope we can just peacefully coexist without talking to each other.
Finally.. someone sent me something called Reddit Cares or some kind of reporting happened. So I wanna emphasize my fiancé is NOT an abuser. He is also not someone who runs around haphazardly with a gun and shoots it carelessly or hates people or something. He is a well respected person, just a protective person, and my pregnancy has heightened it. I have miscarried before. It's not to make excuses but I feel bad if my post gets misconstrued and people think my fiancé would ever hurt me. Or go out of his way to hurt anyone else. He’s not the threat I am experiencing.

I have an officer from animal control now who I can call if they come into our property again but if the dogs came at me and my fiancé were to shoot them, the police said my fiancé would be within his right to do so. It sounds really harsh guys, but it’s allowed. It doesn’t mean I want that.
I would have even tried to make friends with his dogs on my own terms … but the neighbor didn’t let us have good introductions. This is on him. Not me.. especially when I’m minding my own business on my deck or whatever and dogs come at me out of nowhere. It’s truly scary. I described a scenario where they came charging at me but didn’t attack me in the end. It was a best case scenario and I got really lucky. So many people have a story like this where they weren’t lucky. I really didn’t know in that moment what was going to happen to me. And it was terrifying.
Anyways now the bridge between us neighbors is totally burned. So I hope we can just peacefully coexist without talking to each other.
Finally.. someone sent me something called Reddit Cares or some kind of reporting happened. So I wanna emphasize my fiancé is NOT an abuser. He is also not someone who runs around haphazardly with a gun and shoots it carelessly or hates people or something. He is a well respected person, just a protective person, and my pregnancy has heightened it. I have miscarried before. It's not to make excuses but I feel bad if my post gets misconstrued and people think my fiancé would ever hurt me. Or go out of his way to hurt anyone else. He’s not the threat I am experiencing.

Everything looked... oddly modern. But this place – it was not for you. It was far from home. Scrambling the streets to find somewhere less crowded, with less weird-looking people, you stumble across a store. In a fancy cursive font, the sign above the doors read "Aderyn Sisters: Jewelry," and luckily for you, the store looked fairly vacant. Checking for an "open" sign (which you eventually found), you stepped into the store, even if just for a breather away from the things out in the city, and heard a bell above the door ring. From behind the counter, a woman speaks. "Welcome to Aderyn Sisters: Jewelry. You're at D.R. Jewelry, the brightest gem of all stores among the immortal realm, and..." My(27f) last relationship was 4 and a half years.. It was serious and we purchased a home.. not even 2 months after we closed, he didn't have enough money to cover his part of the mortgage and other bills.. turns out he was doing heroin, he was acting wild and took money that was for the bills and spent it on drugs.. That's when I ended things. He(24m) was also physically abusive throughout the relationship.. There were multiple occasions where he hurt me.. He went to jail a couple times.. I always took him back because I wanted to believe he would change. Classic domestic violence, trauma bond situation.. It was just a lot to deal with.. I should have known better than to buy a house with this man. Long story short.. Since we broke up - I've been paying everything for the house and my own bills. I've taken on all the debt including loans we were supposed to split for furniture & renovations.. My quality of life was significantly impacted. I made the most money I've ever made in a single year last year. Over $90k and I feel like I have nothing to show for it. The equity in the home is my only hope to try and recuperate finances that I've invested and pay off other debt so I can sell the home and move on with my life.. BUT since he is a "co owner" - he gets 50% when the house is sold and he has to be involved in the process.. Now.. we agreed that I will get all of the money when the house is sold but I can't trust him to give me the money, so he agreed to sign a written legal agreement that I paid $1000 to my attorney to draw up. His attorney was sent the agreement almost 3 weeks ago and not a single update. He changed his phone number, workplace and address.. moved out of his mom's house where he spent the last year and a half paying $0 to live. He was able to do whatever he wanted with his money.. and now he's just avoiding this business we have to take care of.. moved in with his new girlfriend and I think he's going to try to steal money from me basically... by not signing the agreement and I’m worried I won't be able to sell the house if he doesn't communicate or he can't be found..

He changed entirely and I had a hunch but stupidly believed him again and after a month of barely speaking we met and hooked up twice.. in my car.. 2 days later he said he needed to talk to me and told me that he’s been seeing someone since the last week of February ! Since then he has changed everything and has moved on.. leaving the house still unsettled.

I just wanted to share my experience with my d&c surgery I had done today. If anyone is scared to have this procedure done I just want you to know that it was a really great experience for such a shitty situation. I went in to the hospital 2 hours before the procedure. My nurse let me know exactly what her job would be and what she would be doing for me until I get to the OR. My doctor, who performed the surgery, came in and sat with me for a good 20 minutes. She explained to me exactly what she would be doing to me while I was under general anesthesia. We also chatted about my pregnancy history and she just really made me feel good about the d&c I was about to get done. I had never been put under before so I was really scared. I got changed into the hospital gown. A nurse came in and put an i.v in my hand. About an hour later I was being wheeled to the OR. Everyone in the OR were just calm, gentle, caring just made me feel safe and taken care of. I got onto the bed in the OR. They started putting the medicine through my i.v. I told them my hand hurt and that was the last thing I remember. When I woke up I was crying. I told the nurse I didn't know why I was crying, he told me it was normal for people to get weepy when coming out of anesthesia. He asked me some questions like my name, birthday and the month. Then I was wheeled to recovery. They told me I was under for 25 minutes. The procedure took 10 minutes. I was in recovery for about an hour. No pain, minimal bleeding It's been 4 hours now since coming home and I still have no pain, very very very mild cramps, minimal bleeding still. I just felt very cared about and very taken care of the whole time I was in the hospital I really appreciate my care team more then they know. I know all of us on this platform have gone through something traumatic or are still going through it now. I'm really sorry that we are experiencing losses but I'm also very grateful for you all. Stay strong things will get better. In the meantime let yourselves mourn your losses. There's no right or wrong way to grieve. I would recommend a d&c to anyone who asks me if it's an option for you. I really feel it's the least traumatic way to deal with a miscarriage. Thank you all for being here.

Okay I know how this sounds, but hear me out first. Buckle in it’s gonna be a long one. My boyfriend, R (23M) and I, CK (24F) been together a little over a year and a half although it certainly hasn’t always been easy, we get along pretty well. My only complaint is that he is nice, too nice. He always bends over backwards for people who don’t deserve it AKA, his family.
My boyfriend is in college, drives a beater car, and works part time and a convenience shop, so to say he is broke is kind of an understatement. That doesn’t matter to me though, because I love him madly. This relationship is the most constructive and healthy connection I have ever been in. Anyway, we both live at home because rent prices, among other things are way too expensive. My boyfriend loves his family. It’s one of the qualities that really attracted me to him, because I do not have a good relationship with my own family. Although it was endearing at the start, I now think they are taking advantage of him.
He is a personal chauffeur to his unappreciative little sister. He is constantly cutting our time short to go take her to hair appointments that he pays for, work, school, shopping, and anywhere else she wants to go without any notice for FREE. I don’t think I have ever heard her say thank you to him. Half of the time we are together when she calls him so he has to use my car to take her places. More of the same with his parents, when they call he magically transforms into an InstaCart shopper or a DoorDasher before my eyes (cue eye roll.) They also think we spend too much time together, so they have recently enacted a curfew which I think is outrageous considering he is a 23 year old MAN and he does so much for them. All they do is command him to do things, and he does it no questions asked.
His birthday was last week right before Mother’s Day. Unsurprisingly, no one in his household bought him a present for his birthday. I, of course, got him a gift and a mini cake for his birthday to make him feel special and appreciated since he does a lot for me and my son. He took it home and placed in the fridge and jokingly said “I hope no one eats it.” When he said that it absolutely ticked me off, and of course a day later before he could even have a piece, they demolished it. I know it may seems minor but, his family has a habit of taking things from him without permission. For context, one Christmas I bought him a set of cologne and planned the two of us a trip for new years. We had an amazing time together and it really solidified that this is what I wanted in a relationship. Long story short, we came back from our trip, he went into his room to see that the very expensive cologne I bought him was now missing. My heart sank when he told me this. I told him straight up he needs to stand up for himself and if this continues he is allowing them to continue this behavior. But as always he turned it into a joke.
Anyway, we had plans today. We were both off work, which is rare. We haven’t really had much time to celebrate his birthday from last week because like I said previously he works at a convenience store and has crazy hours, while I work a 9-5 as well as caring for my son who is in Pre-K. We have both been raving about a posh little restaurant downtown that we have wanted to go to for quite some time now. I wanted to make a reservation for lunch because I knew for sure his sister and my son would be in school, so we were completely free for a little while. I mean it sounds like it would all work out right? WRONG. It never does.
His sister typically gets out of school at 3:30 PM then she goes home to get dressed for work and needs to be dropped off there around 4:00-5:00 PM. Keeping this in mind I set our reservation for 12:30 PM. Anyway we get there a bit late, but we were still able to be seated and our lunch went well. We were near a mall with time to spare, so we decided we would stop by to window shop. We walked around for a bit and the time flies by. Suddenly it was 2:30 PM his sister goes absolutely crazy and blows his phone completely up. I asked him was everything okay and did we need to leave since we drove my car there together. He insisted everything was fine and we continued our shopping. I curiously asked him what time he planned to leave and he said we would go at 3:00 which was fine with me.
We lost track of time and we ended up leaving later than intended at about 3:15 PM, but we were only about 20 minutes away and we wouldn’t have her waiting very long. As we’re driving she is still going crazy blowing his phone up constantly asking where he was as he was driving. I was getting annoyed because we were going to go and get her in my car, when she’s so unappreciative of her brother and his efforts to keep her happy and to help her. I held my tongue though because I could hear the agitation increase within his voice as they spoke and I felt as if I would only make things worse. My boyfriend is very sweet and it isn’t often that he gets angry, so she was really pushing his buttons.
She called him a whopping 10 times during a 20 minute drive, and at one point they had a screaming match on the phone and he told her, “You knew I was busy and not at home, why didn’t you ask one of our parents to get you if you wanted to be picked up without having to wait?” Their house is only 8 minutes away from the school so I was beyond ticked off and annoyed at this point. When we finally arrived at her school admittedly a little late, she is nowhere to be found. We waited for a while for her and he called to see where she was, apparently she caught a ride from a friend to be dropped off at her aunts house. The rage I felt in that moment was unparalleled. If they could take you to your aunts house why didn’t they take you home?!
Anyway within the commotion I asked him to swing by my son's school so we could pick him up. I then asked him which one would “come first” purely referring to the geographic location of each person considering I didn’t want him to waste any more of my own gas. I guess I used the wrong choice of words.
He replied to me with something that stung me down to the core. He said, “My sister and my family will always come first.” He saw the surprised and hurt look on my face and quickly added, “but this is your car we can go get him first.” I was taken aback by that statement. I understand that family is blood related, but these people do not respect your time, privacy, hell even your freedom. After he said that the rest of the car ride was a blur and I truly felt like I was overreacting at first. We planned to take my son to the park after we dropped his sister off but I ended up telling him I didn’t feel well and we had to cancel. I’m at a loss here guys. Do I have any right to feel hurt by what he said to me? I mean this is the man I planned on creating a family with, becoming old with. Now I’m not so sure. Help me out here and lmk if I am the A-Hole.

2024.05.15 03:13 Tree_Of_Palm A (admittedly flawed) theory about the identity of Madame X, as well as an additional crack theory that I made while sleep deprived. (Spoilers for the entire game)
Ok this is gonna be a very long, rambling, and probably somewhat disorganized post, so please bear with me.
I'm sure other people have had this same idea as well, but I'm not subscribed to the rebornevo forums and I'm not very active on this subreddit either, so I don't know how frequently it's been discussed outside of the small number of times I've seen it on Twitter, which still was after I had the thought when I first played V12 years ago. Even if it is I still wanted to try and organize my thoughts about it and present all of the evidence that brought me to think this even without engaging much with the larger community.
To jump right into it, the theory that I've been subscribing to for a pretty long time and was very confident in (until realizing some flaws with it) is that Madame X is the incarnation of Nymiera from Maria(nette)'s now dead universe, which is likely the same universe that Clear, Kieran, and potentially the Thunder Warrior Tapu Koko are from. She was defeated by her universe's Indriad but somehow managed to escape with her life, albeit badly injured, and was effectively out of commission, which led to Indriad eventually being able to bring about Storm 9 which would eventually lead to the end the world. Nymiera then likely got help from either her world's Xara and Jean, or Clear and Kieran themselves to construct her suit and escape to the next universe.
There's quite a few reasons I have to think this. I feel like a ton of evidence from throughout the game supports the idea, and I've been making note of them for years at this point. This is gonna be a bit meandering, but it's really difficult to organize thoughts about a plot as complicated as Rejuv's even if you're focusing on only one character, so again please bear with me:
However... in the process of thinking through this all over the last couple days, I realized several holes in this theory that I have to acknowledge, and keep it from really being an effective one.
First, if Nymiera is the avatar of Xerneas, then why is Madame X only ever seen using a Yveltal?
Second, the one aspect of Madame X's backstory story that she elected to reveal to us is about her mother. In her own words, "My "mother" was a weak individual who gave her life to protect me". Not only does Nymiera never hint at anything remotely similar this, but none of Adrest, Variya, or any of the files Adrest sends to Erin hint at anything even remotely close to this for Nymiera.
Third, which I think is the biggest issue: when we see Madame X's mask get broken by Sakitron at the pyramid, what little we see of her appearance doesn't exactly match up with Nymiera. What appears to be black hair could also just be a broken piece of her mask, her eyes are a bright red, and even though we barely see any skin, it visibly is not as dark as Nymiera's.
The first point is actually pretty easy to explain: the Yveltal is Indriad. Obviously we don't know how Indriad became a Yveltal, but there is precedent for shit like this happening and there's multiple hints towards it:
I'm still confident that I'm onto something here and there is a connection between these two characters,
...so instead I came up with a crackpot theory that nonetheless I think has a nonzero chance of being true, although its much less liekly .
Madame X isn't an alternate universe Nymiera. She's an alternate universe Nim.
Is it a stupid assertion? Yes. But hear me out, starting with some of the more minor points:
First: Nim's physical appearance is extremely similar to Madame X's under her mask. As Lorna, we can see that her pupils have a red hue very similar to Madame X's. Looking at both Nim's sprites and her official art, her skin tone is lighter than Nymiera's but still darker then most of the rest of the cast, which also lines up with the broken mask. Finally, assuming Madame X actually has black hair and that's not just a broken part of her mask in the sprite, Nim's hair is the same color.
Second: When Madame X mentions her "Mother", its quoted, presumably for air quotes. While it could just be her disrespecting her "Mother", it feels far more significant than that, like its moreso implying that whoever she's talking about wasn't her mother in the traditional sense. Madame X also states that the difference between her "Mother"'s sacrifice and the player's mom's sacrifice is that the player's mom's didn't matter; thus indirectly implying that Madame X's mom's sacrifice was important even if she looks down upon her mom for it. Assuming that Nymiera shares some connection to Nim- be it that Nymiera created her, Nim is her reincarnation, or something else- it's not unreasonable to think that Nim, after overcoming her memory issues, could view Nymiera as something of a mother figure, especially considering that Nim took her name Nymiera's because she felt a connection.
Third: The suit. There's a very obvious reason that Nim would need a suit to suppress her own power: to keep herself from draining the life force of her subordinates and stop her own Storm from getting out of control. Why would Nim be doing all of this, and how would she become such a cruel and vengeful person? We see something similar happen to our own Nim through Clear's manipulation through preying on her fears and insecurities. Assuming bad enough shit happened to her, I could absolutely see an alternate universe Nim who lacked the support of characters like Aelita, Melia, and the Player going down this path.
Is this theory accurate? Probably not, but it was really fun to think about. I never fucking know what's gonna happen with this game which is why it's so fun to speculate about the absolute mess of lore that it has.

I'm sure other people have had this same idea as well, but I'm not subscribed to the rebornevo forums and I'm not very active on this subreddit either, so I don't know how frequently it's been discussed outside of the small number of times I've seen it on Twitter, which still was after I had the thought when I first played V12 years ago. Even if it is I still wanted to try and organize my thoughts about it and present all of the evidence that brought me to think this even without engaging much with the larger community.
To jump right into it, the theory that I've been subscribing to for a pretty long time and was very confident in (until realizing some flaws with it) is that Madame X is the incarnation of Nymiera from Maria(nette)'s now dead universe, which is likely the same universe that Clear, Kieran, and potentially the Thunder Warrior Tapu Koko are from. She was defeated by her universe's Indriad but somehow managed to escape with her life, albeit badly injured, and was effectively out of commission, which led to Indriad eventually being able to bring about Storm 9 which would eventually lead to the end the world. Nymiera then likely got help from either her world's Xara and Jean, or Clear and Kieran themselves to construct her suit and escape to the next universe.
There's quite a few reasons I have to think this. I feel like a ton of evidence from throughout the game supports the idea, and I've been making note of them for years at this point. This is gonna be a bit meandering, but it's really difficult to organize thoughts about a plot as complicated as Rejuv's even if you're focusing on only one character, so again please bear with me:
- The most obvious point is that Madame X shows up directly in the prologue, to the Maria that becomes the one we meet in the Chrysalis manor. She clearly already has some amount of control over time at this point as well, meaning she had likely already claimed her world's time diamond but was unable to stop Indriad using it.
- Nymiera clearly still remembers the old world we learn about in the Third Layer. She knows Adrest by name and recognizes his presence within the player, hints at the emergence of the Zeight in the present day, and knows about the Archetype. Madame X, in the first cutscene where she's introduced at Blacksteeple, immediately refers to the player as the Interceptor, and she also clearly recognizes the power the Melia gains from the Archetype in the Bad Future. They in general seem to possess similar knowledge of major concepts like these.
- Although you could argue that she might simply have learned about these things from Clear and Kieran, the fact that we see Madame X specifically talking to Maria in the prologue shows that she was at least aware of the Archetype already.
- This is an admittedly very small point that is potentially a coincidence, but I still want to acknowledge it: Madame X's suit seems to be evoking the image of a dragon and mostly uses dark colors. The two characters that we know are directly descended from Nymiera, Alexandra and Damian, favor Dragon and Dark type Pokemon, respectively.
- We know that Nymiera dual wielded crystal swords as her primary weapons rather than relying on Pokemon, and Madame X engages in combat almost exclusively with her sword. The only exception that we see is her attacking the player with her Yveltal at Blacksteeple Castle.
- We see the aforementioned crystal swords, as well as the corpse of Hazuki's Aegislash, within the storage room of the Chrysalis Manor, which all but confirms that Nymiera and the Defenders of Aevium were soundly defeated by Indriad in this timeline and he claimed their weapons as trophies.
- As a small thought on the full fate of her world's defenders: Vivian was already dead because of the botched ritual, Hazuki was most likely killed, Anju was defeated but taken alive and imprisoned, likely to act as a potential vessel for Indriad (which is something I'd also like to talk about but that's best saved for another post). Given how cruel of a man Indriad is and how much he likes to torment people, I think that crippling Nymiera so she could no longer stand against him and then forcing her to live with the pain of her failure sounds like the type of thing he'd do. This is more of a headcanon, though, not something I'm actually trying to present as a major evidence for the theory.
- Because of .Karma Files we have explicit confirmation that Nymiera is an incarnation of Xerneas; it's a little on the nose for sure, but this can explain why she so heavily associates with the letter X, including why she took her name and took the name of Team Xen for her own, new organization even though it otherwise seems to be completely unrelated to the Team Xen of the Miera Region.
- If her mask is destroyed at the Pyramid, and she's effectively defeated prior to Clear and Kieran's intervention, she makes a remark about how the battle would have gone differently if not for her suit. It's vague, yes, but the implication is that the suit places some sort of limit on her power and she'd be far stronger without it, as while wearing it she can't fight at full capacity. This explains why she only wields one sword instead of two, as she likely can't dual wield without her full physical strength.
- This next bit is straying into headcanon territory, so I don't fully count it for the theory, but we don't know exactly why she's wearing the suit; it's definitely not just to hide her identity, because there'd be far easier ways of doing that. I like to think that it's necessary for her to survive and limits her power to keep her from overexerting herself, similar to Darth Vader's suit from Star Wars. This would make sense with the idea I have that she was grievously wounded by Indriad even though she survived her fight with him.
- We know that there's a second Blacksteeple Castle on the same island that's hidden behind a protective barrier, which only Madame X can pass through. It's likely that this is the original Blacksteeple Castle and the one that we occupy during the prison arc is just a replica. We see in the Bad Future that Blacksteeple Castle has some sort of connection to Nymiera with the mosaic that we see. It's confirmed by Madame X that Blacksteeple was once Nymiera's castle, that she lost in the war mentioned in the legend that Nymiera tells to us. This would explain why Madame X is so protective of the original castle in the present day and why she can access it.
- This would also explain why so much Xerneas iconography is still included in the replica of the castle.
- Speaking of Blacksteeple in the Bad Future: when confronted with the mosaic of Nymiera, Madame X calls her a cowardly and weak woman who couldn't protect what she needed to when it mattered most. This attitude already does make sense for her to have, but if she is the Nymiera who was defeated by Indriad in Maria's timeline, it only makes even more sense. She is so disgusted at herself for her own failure that she threw away her old name and forsakes her old actions, and looks down upon the Nymiera of the current timeline for making the same mistakes that she feels she did.
- We already know from the Regi sidequests in V13.5 that Nymiera's view of morality was a bit... warped, and she was willing to do some truly inhumane and manipulative shit if she thought it was necessary for the good of the many. Madame X's methods are obviously far more extreme than Nymiera's ever were, but even though her motivations and ultimate goal are unclear there's still hints that all of the things she's responsible for are, to her, just a means to an end. If Madame X is Nymiera, with her spirit having been broken by her failure to stop her world's Indriad, it's not hard to see how that already warped "Good of the many no matter the cost" mentality could evolve into doing absolutely anything to achieve her goals.
- The underground chamber in Kugearen where we find the Weird Diary has a lot going on, but the notable things are the statues of the Defenders,drawing of the Archetype, and map of present day Aevium. Hazuki's is missing, and Anju and Nymiera's are destroyed, with the game specifically noting that their eyes are torn out. There is no statue of Hazuki, and Vivian's is not only intact, but poised for battle. To break this all down a bit:
- The Archetype symbol being so prominent as well as the present-day map show that it's someone who can both time travel and knows about the Archetype
- The three states are of the Defenders that we know will suffer a poor fate.
- Hazuki's is missing because she is the only that survived.
- Vivian's is standing and complete because she was the only one able to mostly die on her own terms, but her spirit still struggled because of the failed spell; being poised for battle still lines up with the curse placed on her reincarnations.
- Anju and Nymiera are both missing in the present day and were never seen again. Anju's fate is ambiguous, but obviously there's something going on with Angie (Which I have another theory about, but again, story for another post). Nymiera's spirit has appeared, but clearly can only do so much, as her only real act aside from talking to the player is transferring Hazuki's power to Saki.
- Nymiera fancied herself an artist, and seemed to especially like working with stone given the many statues in Blacksteeple as well as the multiple stone carvings in her room.
- All of this points to someone who can reliably time travel, knows of the archetype, has knowledge of Rift Pokemon, and has an intimate knowledge of the Defenders and their fates. Madame X is the only person who meets all of those first few qualifications, and it's also worth noting that Madame X's suit distinctly lacks eyes, similar to the two statues.
However... in the process of thinking through this all over the last couple days, I realized several holes in this theory that I have to acknowledge, and keep it from really being an effective one.
First, if Nymiera is the avatar of Xerneas, then why is Madame X only ever seen using a Yveltal?
Second, the one aspect of Madame X's backstory story that she elected to reveal to us is about her mother. In her own words, "My "mother" was a weak individual who gave her life to protect me". Not only does Nymiera never hint at anything remotely similar this, but none of Adrest, Variya, or any of the files Adrest sends to Erin hint at anything even remotely close to this for Nymiera.
Third, which I think is the biggest issue: when we see Madame X's mask get broken by Sakitron at the pyramid, what little we see of her appearance doesn't exactly match up with Nymiera. What appears to be black hair could also just be a broken piece of her mask, her eyes are a bright red, and even though we barely see any skin, it visibly is not as dark as Nymiera's.
The first point is actually pretty easy to explain: the Yveltal is Indriad. Obviously we don't know how Indriad became a Yveltal, but there is precedent for shit like this happening and there's multiple hints towards it:
- Indriad is confirmed at the end of .Karma files is an avatar of Yveltal in the same way that Nymiera is one of Xerneas.
- In the Bad Future, when Melanie summons her Yveltal, she explicitly refers to it as her father. Melanie is a bad future version of Melia, Melia is in some capacity connected to Maria and is still explicitly related to Indriad's kids, the implication is pretty clear.
- There are other physical avatars of legendaries in the game: Spacea and Tiempa, who both can transform into the legendaries they are the avatars of. I don't know if it's ever been confirmed if Griselda was an explicit avatar of Giratina, but nonetheless, she was permanently transformed into one and can't change back. It's not unreasonable to see something similar happening to Indriad given that we don't know his final fate in the game's main timeline yet.
- Yes, this means there's some fucky shit going on with Angie, I have ideas about that as well but that also takes a ton of explanation and is best saved for a different post.
I'm still confident that I'm onto something here and there is a connection between these two characters,
...so instead I came up with a crackpot theory that nonetheless I think has a nonzero chance of being true, although its much less liekly .
Madame X isn't an alternate universe Nymiera. She's an alternate universe Nim.
Is it a stupid assertion? Yes. But hear me out, starting with some of the more minor points:
- There is very obviously a connection between Nim and Nymiera. The game's placed a lot of emphasis on Nim's relationship to Alexandra and Damian, Nymiera's direct descendents, and Nim took her name from Nymiera's. When Nim appears in the flashback with Alexaandra and Damian she's calling out the names of Hazuki and the player character, yelling for them to watch out. This implies four things:
- Nim originates in the past and was sent into the future.
- Given that we haven't met her in the past, she probably comes into existence in the state that she already was.
- Nim will meet the player and Hazuki in the past during some dangerous event, most likely a final battle with Indriad before Storm-9 fully hits, as we still don't know the final fate of the Defenders.
- She doesn't say Anju and Nymiera's names, implying either something already happened to them or Nim was cut off in the middle of her sentence when she was sent forward in time.
- Despite Madame X claiming that Nymiera is dead, her spirit has appeared multiple times and is still very aware of the ongoing plot. Her body, however, has not.
- Clear going out of her way to manipulate Nim shows that Madame X likely has an interest in Nim herself.
- While she obviously prefers to use her psychic abilities, Nim's still clearly proficient with melee weapons as there's a handful of times where she uses her... hairpin things as a polearm of sorts.
First: Nim's physical appearance is extremely similar to Madame X's under her mask. As Lorna, we can see that her pupils have a red hue very similar to Madame X's. Looking at both Nim's sprites and her official art, her skin tone is lighter than Nymiera's but still darker then most of the rest of the cast, which also lines up with the broken mask. Finally, assuming Madame X actually has black hair and that's not just a broken part of her mask in the sprite, Nim's hair is the same color.
Second: When Madame X mentions her "Mother", its quoted, presumably for air quotes. While it could just be her disrespecting her "Mother", it feels far more significant than that, like its moreso implying that whoever she's talking about wasn't her mother in the traditional sense. Madame X also states that the difference between her "Mother"'s sacrifice and the player's mom's sacrifice is that the player's mom's didn't matter; thus indirectly implying that Madame X's mom's sacrifice was important even if she looks down upon her mom for it. Assuming that Nymiera shares some connection to Nim- be it that Nymiera created her, Nim is her reincarnation, or something else- it's not unreasonable to think that Nim, after overcoming her memory issues, could view Nymiera as something of a mother figure, especially considering that Nim took her name Nymiera's because she felt a connection.
Third: The suit. There's a very obvious reason that Nim would need a suit to suppress her own power: to keep herself from draining the life force of her subordinates and stop her own Storm from getting out of control. It's a leap, sure, but it would explain why she needs a suit that actively inhibits her.

Good gravy, these visuals. This is the most visual flair they've ever had in a battle up until this point. More on the particulars later. Unfortunately the music is comparatively pretty weak and unmemorable, with the notable exception of the track that plays during Austin Powers' bits.
So, Daniel Craig Bond's first verse. "[insert Bond villains here] were not as crooked and rotten as your teeth are." that's a decent burn, but man, I always feel bad for Austin Powers when Bond says this. Powers looks genuinely hurt, quit bullying Powers, Craig Bond! "I'll go balls to the Walther on this wack twat in an ascot; Blast shots atcha like gas from the back slot of a fat Scot!" Intellectually I acknowledge that there is some somewhat clever wordplay going on here, but I can't say I particularly care for these lines. The "I'm licensed to kill; you couldn't get a learner's permit!" is an alright diss I guess. The lines comparing their filmography and tying in You Only Live Twice into the diss... I dunno, something feels so rote and lifeless about this burn. It's competent, but it's not doing much for me. The best part of this verse is easily the "B on D/beyond me" diss, fun wordsmithing there. The closer is competent, reference to Golden Gun, sure, that's fine, but I ain't writing home about it. I'll go into more detail about this towards the end, but I'm not a fan of this verse, I think Craig Bond as a rapper is a fairly bland character and that the background visuals are having to compensate hard for his lifelessness.
Austin Powers opens his verse by acknowledging that he has been catfished by Craig Bond, which I think is a ton of fun. The visual of Austin Powers splitting into rainbow versions of himself as his track with the horns starts blaring is just fantastic. "Basil Exposition told me this would be boring; but Jesus, man, even my mojo's snoring!" This isn't a particularly clever line or a powerful diss, mostly seems like an excuse to drop a couple references, but I'm in full agreement with Austin Powers here. Craig Bond's performance was boring. Austin Powers proceeds to mock Craig Bond for his hairless body, contrasting it with his own glorious chest bush. I love how much confidence Austin has in his sexiness despite not being the least bit conventionally attractive. I also love this set with Austin, his buddy, and these women all rocking out. The computer-generated visuals of Craig Bond's backgrounds are impressive, sure, but actually having this wacky set made for the battle really elevates it to a new level in terms of presentation. And all these close-ups of Austin's eyes, mouth, and ass getting slapped... much more flair than their usual fare. Austin Powers threatens to hypnotize Craig Bond with a strip tease and I just... look, I'm not saying these are great lines, on paper Austin does not have the strongest disses, but this verse is just so FUN. The dancing and choreography with Austin's visuals are top-notch, love him slapping his ass on the spinning bed. "You're defenseless, my rhymes can't be deflected, you're like all the sex I've ever had: unprotected!" is genuinely hilarious. "People want a hero with a little personality; no one wants to sit through your gritty reality" is definitely encapsulating the vibe I feel on the question of James Bond vs. Austin Powers. Powers then goes in for a nice blow with the line about them making Thunderball twice. "I'm one of a kind, you're always getting remade" goes hard, even harder nowadays than it did back when this was made. "You can't touch me, double oh behave" is a cute reference, but it's not anything more than that, same tier of verse closer as Craig Bond's.
Then we have the misfortune of returning to Craig Bond's gritty reality. "I can't believe I'm wasting my time with this clown, I should... be on an island with a fucking model by now" is really weak. It feels ad-libbed. You're not too cool for this rap battle Craig Bond, you're actually not nearly cool enough. Craig throws in a reference to the penis pumping joke from Austin Powers, we get a little failed interjection from Powers, and that's fun. Craig Bond does get a strong blow in with "but I'm the original model that your frilly ass mimics"; a powerful argument that you can't take away from Craig Bond.
Until Sean Bond comes in and takes that away from Craig Bond with a cheeky "I wouldn't exactly call you original". Good stuff. The BDSM joke is whatever. "Your performance doesn't stir me and I'm certainly not shaken" is an amusing reference to his famous quote, maybe a little obvious and corny, but what really helps sell it is the way it segueways into "if I wanted shitty acting in my action film, I'd go and watch Taken". Fun! "I don't need a Q to break your balls" is some good wordplay. I remember watching this with my family years ago, and my father groaned at Bond's closing Gold Bond joke and said "That's terrible." and... yeah, I kind of have to agree. It's a good jab and the wordplay isn't without its wit, but there's something so goddamned cheesy about it. Can't help but roll my eyes when he smugly looks at the camera and says 'Gold Bond'. It's the phrasing and line delivery, I think. This joke might have landed better if they refrained from trying to tie it into that famous quote.
Austin Powers makes a valiant effort to get back in the battle, but gets bitch slapped for his troubles.
There's something so... for lack of a better term... beta about the way Craig Bond comes in and touches Sean Bond's arm to get his attention. "The world has had quite enough rug-wearing misogynists" is accurate, albeit not the most clever.
Austin Powers shows Craig Bond up by carrying that line of argumentation further with an amusing bit about Sean Bond being a rapist. I love how uncomfortable Austin Powers seems.
"If they made a mini-me they'd have to cast Peter Dinklage"... that's so lame, guys. Come on.
"Or maybe they should cast a Bond who's actually English" winds up seeming like way stronger of a burn than it is for the fact that Sean Bond takes so much offense to it he feels the need to slap Craig Bond hard for it. Austin's awed reaction in the background is quite funny.
"Why, Pussy, aren't you the cunning linguist?" Har har har.
I like the way Craig Bond takes Sean Bond's wordplay and uses it to mount a counteroffensive, he delivers a couple real solid lines here.
Sean Bond's closer is pretty unremarkable. I guess I could charitably consider it to be of the same caliber as the closers for Craig Bond's and Powers' first verse closers, a cute little reference but nothing more. Austin Powers continues to be the best part of the battle as he rises up into the frame, enamored with his opponents.
Alright, so... I think Craig Bond gives one of the dullest and most unmemorable performances in ERB history. For one thing, his face is just not very expressive here; it's like he constantly has one facial expression. Even when his face is contorting a bit to try and express anger he still looks the same. I don't know to what extent that's just the actor's physical appearance, or if it's a deliberate choice as part of the Craig Bond persona, or what, but watching him perform feels like watching a flat line. It doesn't help that he just looks like some guy. Austin Powers and Sean Bond have very distinct and flashy appearances, but with Craig Bond it looks like they just brought in some random guy off the street and gave him a suit. Maybe that's accurate to Daniel Craig's Bond, but it's a problem for this rap battle regardless. This guy is so nondescript he's regularly getting upstaged by his backgrounds. Another issue I have with this battle is that it clearly does not respect the existence of Austin Powers as a rapper. I could be misremembering, but I believe I've heard that the creators said they didn't like the idea of a parody rapping against the character they're based on, and that this one ultimately got made because they could turn it into a Bond v. Bond battle. Personally I think the idea of having a parody go up against the original is vastly more interesting of a matchup and that Bond v. Bond is the thing that isn't really worth doing. I'd rather this have just been a battle between Austin Powers on one side with two verses and one or both of the Bonds on the other. I also want to say that this is one of the best and most un-NicePeter performances Peter has ever given; I had to go on the wiki and double-check to make sure Peter actually played him. I think Peter has an issue with a lot of his characters sounding same-y, but this sounds nothing like him. It doesn't look like him either; it's not just that the costuming is great, the dancing and mannerisms are real different from Peter's usual stuff. Just look at that pose he strikes on the right at 1:13. So good. One of Peter's best characters.
Anyhoo... I'd put this battle in B Tier, below Ghostbusters vs. Mythbusters but above Robocop vs. Terminator. The Craig and Sean Bonds have their moments, but their parts greatly pale in comparison to Austin Powers... but even then, Austin Powers' verse isn't that great, it's more supremely entertaining than expertly written. It shapes out to being a solid battle that still leaves a lot to be desired.
I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm saying Austin Powers>Sean Bond>Craig Bond. Austin Powers is the entire reason I revisit this battle.

It feels ad-libbed. You're not too cool for this rap battle Craig Bond, you're actually not nearly cool enough. Craig throws in a reference to the penis pumping joke from Austin Powers, we get a little failed interjection from Powers, and that's fun. Craig Bond does get a strong blow in with "but I'm the original model that your frilly ass mimics"; a powerful argument that you can't take away from Craig Bond.
Until Sean Bond comes in and takes that away from Craig Bond with a cheeky "I wouldn't exactly call you original". Good stuff. The BDSM joke is whatever. "Your performance doesn't stir me and I'm certainly not shaken" is an amusing reference to his famous quote, maybe a little obvious and corny, but what really helps sell it is the way it segueways into "if I wanted shitty acting in my action film, I'd go and watch Taken". Fun! "I don't need a Q to break your balls" is some good wordplay. I remember watching this with my family years ago, and my father groaned at Bond's closing Gold Bond joke and said "That's terrible." and... yeah, I kind of have to agree. It's a good jab and the wordplay isn't without its wit, but there's something so goddamned cheesy about it. Can't help but roll my eyes when he smugly looks at the camera and says 'Gold Bond'. It's the phrasing and line delivery, I think. This joke might have landed better if they refrained from trying to tie it into that famous quote.
Austin Powers makes a valiant effort to get back in the battle, but gets bitch slapped for his troubles.
There's something so... for lack of a better term... beta about the way Craig Bond comes in and touches Sean Bond's arm to get his attention. "The world has had quite enough rug-wearing misogynists" is accurate, albeit not the most clever.
Austin Powers shows Craig Bond up by carrying that line of argumentation further with an amusing bit about Sean Bond being a rapist. I love how uncomfortable Austin Powers seems.
"If they made a mini-me they'd have to cast Peter Dinklage"... that's so lame, guys. Come on.
"Or maybe they should cast a Bond who's actually English" winds up seeming like way stronger of a burn than it is for the fact that Sean Bond takes so much offense to it he feels the need to slap Craig Bond hard for it. Austin's awed reaction in the background is quite funny.
"Why, Pussy, aren't you the cunning linguist?" Har har har.
I like the way Craig Bond takes Sean Bond's wordplay and uses it to mount a counteroffensive, he delivers a couple real solid lines here.
Sean Bond's closer is pretty unremarkable. I guess I could charitably consider it to be of the same caliber as the closers for Craig Bond's and Powers' first verse closers, a cute little reference but nothing more. Austin Powers continues to be the best part of the battle as he rises up into the frame, enamored with his opponents.
Alright, so... I think Craig Bond gives one of the dullest and most unmemorable performances in ERB history. For one thing, his face is just not very expressive here; it's like he constantly has one facial expression. Even when his face is contorting a bit to try and express anger he still looks the same. I don't know to what extent that's just the actor's physical appearance, or if it's a deliberate choice as part of the Craig Bond persona, or what, but watching him perform feels like watching a flat line. It doesn't help that he just looks like some guy. Austin Powers and Sean Bond have very distinct and flashy appearances, but with Craig Bond it looks like they just brought in some random guy off the street and gave him a suit. Maybe that's accurate to Daniel Craig's Bond, but it's a problem for this rap battle regardless. This guy is so nondescript he's regularly getting upstaged by his backgrounds. Another issue I have with this battle is that it clearly does not respect the existence of Austin Powers as a rapper. I could be misremembering, but I believe I've heard that the creators said they didn't like the idea of a parody rapping against the character they're based on, and that this one ultimately got made because they could turn it into a Bond v. Bond battle. Personally I think the idea of having a parody go up against the original is vastly more interesting of a matchup and that Bond v. Bond is the thing that isn't really worth doing. I'd rather this have just been a battle between Austin Powers on one side with two verses and one or both of the Bonds on the other. I also want to say that this is one of the best and most un-NicePeter performances Peter has ever given; I had to go on the wiki and double-check to make sure Peter actually played him. I think Peter has an issue with a lot of his characters sounding same-y, but this sounds nothing like him. It doesn't look like him either; it's not just that the costuming is great, the dancing and mannerisms are real different from Peter's usual stuff. Just look at that pose he strikes on the right at 1:13. So good. One of Peter's best characters.
Anyhoo... I'd put this battle in B Tier, below Ghostbusters vs. Mythbusters but above Robocop vs. Terminator. The Craig and Sean Bonds have their moments, but their parts greatly pale in comparison to Austin Powers... but even then, Austin Powers' verse isn't that great, it's more supremely entertaining than expertly written. It shapes out to being a solid battle that still leaves a lot to be desired.
I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm saying Austin Powers>Sean Bond>Craig Bond. Austin Powers is the entire reason I revisit this battle.

I’m not autimatically a troll just because I stand up for myself.
Posting this because I recently had a conversation about eating disorders. I posted that ”I can’t seem to gain weight. But my doctors say I’m healthy”.
And someone commented ”well I’m fat. Just eat more? I don’t get how some people can’t gain weight? try eating more calories”
So: I said that’s literally what I’ve been told my whole life. And that if they don’t understand my problem they didn’t need to comment.
I wasn’t mean or anything. It’s just a basic fact. If you don’t have anything useful or kind to say, you don’t say anything. Right?
Idk. Anyways. Then they told me ”no need to get defensive. I was only trying to be helpful”
(by helpful of course, they meant: suggesting me to just eat more)
And it’s so triggering because so many times in my life have I been told that I am the bad one for standing up for myself or calling people out. But ABSOLUTELY not.

 | THE QUESTION: submitted by CoriCampbell to u/CoriCampbell [link] [comments] “If Winning Time was still on what would you want to see happen next?” MY ANSWER: Season 1 of Winning Time consisted of 10 episodes. Season 2 consisted of 7 episodes. When I was watching on the night of the Season 2 Episode 7, I was shocked and utterly appalled at the fact they ended the show. On the worst cliffhanger you could possibly leave on. I was hoping for a little while that the whole situation was being done in order to use time as a marketing tool. In order to build just as much frustration in the fans of the show, as the characters in the show were experiencing. And I was hoping that they would announce a month later that there was actually 3 more episodes to be released. And I was hoping that those episodes would focus on the following 1985 season in which they won against Boston. Which in turn would be a perfect way to wrap up Season 2. As for future seasons of the show, here’s what I would have wanted… Winning Time since day one has been an incredible show that has been able to balance basketball and story superbly well. I think it could’ve been wrapped up given a third season. In season 3 I would’ve like to have had 10 episodes covering events from 1985-1992. Here is a brief summary I wrote out, of how I would have each episode played out. EP 1: The Rise I think that episode 1 should focus primarily on Larry Bird’s perspective after the Lakers win in 85 and how he was hungry and went after another championship in 86. While in the meantime we focus secondarily on Magic’s relationship with Cookie. While also, starting to notice Kareem’s age. And I think it would be to the benefit of not having loose ends, revisiting briefly for one episode Spencer Haywood. And show that he is doing much better and during the events of Season 2 was getting his act together. This episode should also let us in on what’s happening with Buss’ lawsuit with honey. (The plots for EP 2 and 3 are clumped together) EP 2: Lucked Out + EP 3: Guaranteed Greatness I think episodes 2-3 should be focused primarily on Pat Riley’s stride for greatness and expectation for perfection leading to back to back titles in 87 & 88. While showing the beginning of Pat Riley’s ego, and also addressing and finishing Dr. Buss’ divorce settlement filed against him by honey. This episode should also have Bird and Magic shoot the famous commercial that lead to them understanding one another and respecting one another. And have episode 3 end with Kareem starting to really feel the stress on his body. EP 4: Watcha Gonna Do Have the episode sorta montage through the 89 season with games against the pistons. It would be cool to show Kobe Bryant as a mop boy (which he was), and showing the bad boy Pistons being rough, tough, and winning the 1989 Finals against the Lakers. Leading to Kareem announcing his retirement. EP 5: Riled Up I think episode 5 should start with Kareem’s retirement, showing his evolution from silent to loving towards the fans of the Lakers. While focusing the episode primarily on Pat Riley’s ego starting to continue to grow just like Paul’s did in season 2. This episode should also show a disconnect between the team and Pat. And I think it would be wise for Jerry West to be the first to notice it and point it out. And to talk to Pat to try to settle him down in order to try to keep him from developing his ego and to stay humble. Magic tries to support Riley but also to tries to support the team. EP 6: Slick Back This episode should focus on how the disconnect is fully there between the team and Pat. Leading to the team losing the semifinals in 1990 and the team going to Jerry Buss and expressing that they love Riley, but they can’t take it anymore. Buss is sick to his stomach that he is in this situation again, so he calls in West and Riley to try and salvage this. However, Pat is oblivious to his part in the drama while being definitive in the team’s issues. Both West and Buss see this and know that Pat is to into his ego, isn’t focused, and can no longer coach correctly. Leading to his resignation at the end of the episode, and leaving Magic now in a state of aloneness and confusion. EP 7: Sirius This episode should reflect Magic’s aloneness and introduce a new coach to the show (Mike Dunleavy). Who marks another “Slowtime” era. Where Dunleavy just like Westhead before, gets rid of showtime in turn for his own system. And while it does work, it makes the game no longer fun and incredibly slow. Mirror that with the arrival of the Chicago Bulls a hungry ruthless team, lead by Michael Jordan. And end the episode with the Bulls winning the 1991 Season, and Magic feeling sick after the loss… literally. EP 8: Immunodeficiency The main focus of this episode is the revealing, the announcing, and the dealing with Magic’s Diagnosis of HIV. Remember the first shot of season 1 episode 1? I think the show should cut back to that scene but instead show us different shots of the doctors revealing the news to Magic. And then have him deal with it by including Cookie, West, calling riley, confiding in Kareem, telling his team, and revealing to Jerry Buss. All these scenes should be incredibly emotional and as real as it can be, in order for the audience to grasp the severity of the situation. The episode should end with Magic retiring as a player and having his number being retired, with thoughts swirling in Magic’s head of death and disparity. The overall episode and the future of Magic look bleak and hopeless. Until Magic speaks out at his jersey retirement ceremony and says the famous quote about playing in the Olympics, coming back one day to play, and to survive the HIV Virus. EP 9: Concrete This episode should start out with Larry Bird calling Earvin, to tell him he is sorry about the HIV diagnosis. Magic should let him know he appreciates it but he doesn’t plan on staying retired for long and that he will play with Bird again. And until he comes back, Larry needs to keep going for the both of them and keep on winning. Until Larry reveals that he doesn’t think he has that long left to play because of his back issues (a quick flashback cutaway to Larry pouring a cement driveway for his mom showing why Larry is having back issues). We then get a solum moment where the both of them recognize that they are two sides of the same coin and that they will always be there for each other. And that after all the battles and the rivalries, they are true friends. And I think that this phone conversation should cut back and forth between the rest of the episode which shows Magic getting rehabilitation and fighting the Disease. Eventually overcoming it, and ending the episode with Magic inviting Larry to Join him when he plays in the Olympics. Leaving the episode on an emotional cliffhanger. EP 10: The Dynasty We focus this episode on Jerry Buss’ struggle after Magic left and the emotional and financial mess he is in. It’s the 1991-1992 season and showtime has now become the Lake show with Nick Van Exell. However, this episode should barely focus on basketball and instead focus on the relationships between Jerry Buss and the people in his life. He talks with Magic and convinces him to coach. He has a meeting with Pat and they hash out the beef. The episode overall should be about Buss tying up all the loose ends left in his life, and trying to figure out how the Lakers can do better. Jeanie and Claire Comfort him and let him know that it is all gonna be alright because in the end they are a Dynasty, and they got a legacy that is just getting started. Buss towards the end of the episode sits in his office. While West picks up his mail in his office and walks into Buss. Folded magazine in hand, he is there to talk to Buss about something. Buss asks West if he’ll think it’ll ever get better. And West encourages Buss by telling him that it will. We cut to Magic walking towards Buss’ office, Jerry comes out with his mail and folded magazine making small talk to Magic. Until West realizes what Magic is about to do… he is about to resign as coach. West knows this because he’s done it before. After talking a bit more Magic shakes West’s hand and heads into Buss’ office. While buss sits down opens the magazine and it is a Sports Illustrated issue featuring Shaq at LSU, hinting at the future. Magic then enters Buss’ office and reveals he doesn’t want to be the coach anymore. And Jerry understands, now having enough time to accept that showtime may be over. But WinningTime for the Lakers will never truly end. And before Magic leaves to clean out his coaching office Jerry says “You know you always got a home here Earvin, your family!” Earvin responds with a nod and we close in on Buss. We cut to Magic cleaning out his office. He walks out with boxes of his stuff. Until he notices on his old locker booth his Jersey is hanging up. We then cut to Jerry on the court drinking a bottle of alcohol staring up at the banners and the retired numbers, he then lays back in the middle of the court he closes his eyes with a smile of joy in a silent arena. Until we hear someone walking on the court. It’s Magic with the jersey on a coat hanger and his boxes in hand. Jerry sits up while Magic offers him to a game of pick up, and we close out on them playing basketball. And finish on a wide shot where Jerry scores on Magic. The two of them hug, while picking up the bottle of alcohol and screaming in victory. Cut To Black… So yeah that is my synopsis for what a season 3 of Winning Time would look like. I know there is way more characters in the show that have plot threads. But this summary was just a bare bones attempt at laying out a way to end the show in a perfect way. And I think that in order to end the shows major characters in a satisfying way there are a lot of points that would need to be touched upon that are featured in this summary. I ahead of time apologize for the lack of Jerry Buss’ character arc and plot threads, I just off the top of my head can’t think of, or know of any other drama/plot threads his character could go through after the Honey situation. I hope you guys liked my summary and hope it contributes to the fan base of Winning Time.
