2024.05.14 22:09 kbgl44 Help build my routine

I’m starting with 0.05% tret which I know people advice to start a lower dosage but this is what I can get my hands on. I’m using it for anti aging effects and have normal combination maybe skin. Not really sensitive and I’ve never had acne but a pimple here and there.
Currently my routine is:
AM: toner, niacinamide, vitamin C, hylauronic acid moisturiser, spf 50
PM: cleanser, toner, niacinamide, hyalauronic acid moisturiser
I use an AHA/BHA mask once every 2 weeks. But I’m considering not to while I start tret since I’m assuming my skin will be sensitive.
How often should I apply my tret. Does anyone know what dermatologists advise for application. I’ve watched videos of people on tret for 30 years and they all have very simple routines. I’m scared of “the sandwich method” or applying other products with the tret as it may interfere with the formula.
Should I do clean dry skin, pea sized amount with a good moisturiser on top?
That seems to me as what derms suggest. I know that formulas of tret can degrade overtime etc how do I ensure I reap the full benefits of the product.
What does the research show? I’m not really comfortable using tret differently to how clinical studies used it.

Working on cleaning some messy survey data. Data for Likert scale questions are exported as 5 columns per question (headings are A1= rated 1, B1= rated 2, C1= rated 3…), with either “checked” under the column 1-5 for the rating they selected and “NA” for other numbers not selected.
Looking for a formula to combine the data from these 5 columns into a single column for each question, with the expected variable being their rating of 1-5 (goal is to average the ratings of all respondents) Each row in the sheet is a different respondent. Any help is really appreciated

2024.05.14 20:46 xnd655 Black Frankincense accord with longevity and sillage?

Hello everyone! I have been vaporizing some black frankincense resin (Boswellia neglecta) over Palo Santo and I've fallen in love. Scent description from good scents, “the opening note is like smelling a tin of shoe polish mixed with sticky frankincense resins and dry pine cones, the middle notes are frankincense resinous, cedarwood dry, and a tad fresh lemony. The base notes are warm resinous frankincense, dry pine, leather and again tinned shoe polish.” To my nose, It’s very very dark and “sticky,” balsamic, resinous, herbal, spicy, gas station/turpentine-like, woody, and to a lesser extent lemony and camphoraceous. Forgive my vocabulary! It's difficult to capture the magic in words.
I would like to recreate this scent, and I'm def going to buy the b. Neglecta EO from PA, however after sampling a few other naturals I have run into 3 problems:
  1. Longevity and sillage - Of course EOs in particular have very little throw and don’t last long. CO2 extracts are definitely superior to the essential oils in this sense, and I’ve been eyeing some frankincense absolutes as well, which leads me to the second issue…
  2. IFRA limits - it seems like frankincense is generally quite restricted, as many products contain toxins like thujone. Currently with the EOs and CO2 extracts I have, the frankincense note is not powerful enough at it's maximum %. I would need to build the accord with less restricted materials around the small quantity I am able to use.
  3. Finding Boswellia neglecta/similar smelling ACs (resinous greasy woody pine terpenic cedar leathery): currently the biggest puzzle. I unfortunately do not enjoy the soapy-clean scent of Boswellia carteri, which seems like the most abundant species used. I am afraid of investing in an expensive material and ending up with the lemon dish soap type of frankincense.
The candidates i am leaning most towards currently are Olibanum Coeur (Ventos), Robertet’s Olibanol, Bois D’encense, maybe Choya Loban. Based on reviews, Olibanum Coeur and Bois D’Encense are the front runners. If anyone has these items, I would love to hear your experiences with it; what it smells like, longevity and sillage, etc.
I am thinking of using some of the following materials to support it:
Do you think any of these materials would help, or am I way off? Does anyone know what keywords to use for the notes on black Frankincense specifically? I know the only way is through experimenting, but blind buying is hard! I just need some help narrowing down what I'm looking for. So I figured I would ask the experts here! Thank you. 💗

2024.05.14 20:35 taborpower If you’ve been wanting to quit, Read this.

I’m finally putting the pump away after 3 (almost 4) of the darkest and mentally draining months of my life. I have learned and realized so much, and I want to share my story to hopefully help someone else who is currently in the position I was in.
Before I had my baby, I planned to BF as long as I possibly could. When I felt like a failure because BF didn’t work for us, I became obsessed with the idea of exclusively pumping. And Lord, I had absolutely no idea what I was signing myself up for. EP is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Harder than birth. Harder than losing a family member. Harder than my previous battles with mental health. I was drowning in the sea of stress with having low supply, on top of pumping every 2 hours, on top of having a newborn, on top of cleaning the pump, on top of cleaning the bottles, on top of being alone with my baby for 12-13 hours a day while my boyfriend was at work.
I completely lost myself. I had never been so full of anger and hate. I fully blame the stress of feeling like I had no choice but to BF or EP for my extreme postpartum rage. I broke things. I screamed. I said things I will never be able to take back. Thankfully I was blessed with such an amazing partner and father to my child. But even with him being the most understanding and patient, I almost lost him, too. Our fights were so terrible. I felt like no matter what he did, the labor of raising our daughter was never equal, and I started to hate him. It had gotten to the point where we barely even spoke to each other because so much had been done and said.
Still, I was convinced, she HAD to have breastmilk. And being on that pump was literally sucking the life out of me.
My daughter and I left and had fully planned to start living with my mom. During our stay at her house, she noticed I was slipping. She told me she didn’t recognize me. She suggested that I drop down to 2 pumps a day and supplement with formula for the rest of the feedings. I hated her for even making the suggestion, but out of pure exhaustion and desperation, I caved. And thank god I did. I had been pushed over the edge so long before that I couldn’t even see it anymore. After just 8 days of staying with my mom and supplementing formula, I felt the fog clear. I felt the wave of guilt crashing over me when I realized I was responsible for hurting the two things I love most in this world- my daughter and her father. I robbed my baby of the smiling, joyful mother she deserves, and I robbed my partner of the bond we had spent 2 years creating.
I became so obsessed with the benefits of breastmilk for my baby that I caused more harm than good. Moral of the story is, fed truly is best. And when you’re in the trenches, sometimes you’re too far gone to see that as the truth. But it is the only truth. I realized that breastmilk isn’t essential to my baby’s development- but a stable and happy mother is. I called my boyfriend. I came home. I washed my pump one last time, and put it in my bottom dresser drawer. And instead of mourning my “giving up”, We opened a bottle of alcohol and celebrated my success. And the strength it required to realize it was time to walk away. My baby gained 4.5 pounds because of my boobies, lol. She had breastmilk for 107 days. She is healthy. She is happy. And I finally have my life back. No more stressing if i’m eating enough- I can just stop when I’m full. No more feeling tethered to the house- we can go out for dinner or walks or family Target trips:) No more living my life on a timer. And most importantly, no more missing out on beautiful moments with my baby because I am miserable.
To all of the amazing mothers who continue to make this sacrifice for their babies everyday, I want to say I am so so proud of you. And I hope you never forget what an amazing thing you’ve done to give your baby any breastmilk at all- even when it felt damn near impossible. And thanks for reading my lil life lesson as a first time mom. ❤️

2024.05.14 20:01 amiriteamiriteno 4 ish week old kitten has ringworm, now I have ringworm. Would love to hear from others going through this.

The cat distribution system chose me about two weeks ago now. She is an itty bitty calico who was found with an abandoned litter of 4 out her kittens who are about two weeks older than her. When we took them to the animal shelter, the other four older kitties all had ringworm and she did not. Since she is so small, she is not technically adoptable so the clinic registered me as a foster, and gave us all the supplies we could need to help her make it through. They said her chances were 50/50. We brought her home and tried formula on this severely underweight kitty until we brought har back to the clinic three days later and they advised us to switch to wet food. She finally started gaining substantial amounts of weight (20 ish grams a day) and she was getting stronger and more confident. She had urea scald on her entire underside and arms and legs. And I think that’s what allowed the ringworm to have space to expand quickly. I was checking her daily with the black light and until Saturday night we didn’t see any glowing, just crusty skin that seemed to be healing from the scalding. We took her back to the clinic on Sunday. They gave us oral medication for her and O2 pure oxygen shampoo and told us to bring her back next weekend to weight her and tooth brush culture again. She’s on a 5-week regimen (on a week, off a week of the oral meds) and two baths a week. She’s been sequestered to the bathroom and I just feel terrible. I live in a small apartment, just a living area, bedroom, and bathroom. There’s no windows in the bathroom. She’s completely isolated and I’ve tried to make it cozy for her in there with interactive toys (plastic and can be disinfected) and washable mice toys. I have another cat as well and before the ringworm popped up the kitten had been set up in the living room in a blue kitty pool with blankets, litter box, heating pad and food/water so she could at least be a part of life. My older cat mostly stayed away. And would observe hesniff near her occasionally. My spouse and I spent the entire day cleaning on Sunday. Bleached the floors, lysoled the couch and carpets. Washed all of the pillows, blankets, bedding with disinfecting laundry detergent. This morning I was cleaning the bathroom, changing out her blankets, the floors, counters, etc and scratched my arm. I noticed a circular flakey patch and it’s disheartening. I’m really hoping my mature cat doesn’t get this as well. I lost my job last Monday, so I have the time to be home and take care of her, spend time in there with her, and clean. My spouse is on an extended work trip for the next month at least. I’m supposed to move at the end of July and I know this can be quite the extensive process and it’s just all hitting me. I just would love to hear any tips any of you may have, as well as success stories to give me some hope getting through this. I just feel so guilty that she’s alone and we can’t cuddle like we did before (probably how I have myself ringworm lol) and i don’t want this to change her adorably loving personality. Thanks in advance.

2024.05.14 20:01 Lordzoot Good Habits? A Review of Habit Rouge EDT, Rouge Prive and the Parfum

For many, Guerlain’s Habit Rouge represents a high watermark in perfumery. Since its original release in 1965, the composition has been beloved by gentlemen (and ladies) across the world. It is also a well known favourite of many of the most well regarded perfume historians and reviewers out there and, because of that, one could well argue that there is precious little further useful opinion that can be added to the existing cannon (and they may well be right!).
Still, Jean-Paul Guerlain’s multi-faceted composition has been no stranger to a remix over the years and, since Delphine Jelk took over from Thierry Wasser as in-house perfumer at the historic French house, she has managed to deliver a staggering three new takes on the fragrance in as many years. What better opportunity could there be, therefore, to undertake both a reappraisal of the original release and, in doing so, compare it to some of the new kids on the block? Note: I have not sampled the first of Jelk’s flankers, 2022’s Habit Rouge L'Instinct but, given the almost unanimous negativity surrounding it, it’s not high on my hit list! We’ll be looking at Rouge Prive and the Parfum today.
Habit Rouge EDT (1965)
The concept behind Habit Rouge (or ‘Red Coat’, if translated in to English from its native language) was to create a perfume that brought to mind the jackets worn by the landed gentry when they went hunting. In the UK, we’re no stranger to this nefarious practice - our own fox hunting aristocrats also wore red coats and, despite now being banned, the idea of chasing helpless creatures to their deaths is still a subject of debate in our national politics (with right wing politicians often promising to offer a ‘free vote’ to MPs on the issue to energise their base).
As an animal lover myself, this is perhaps the only element of Habit Rouge I find somewhat jarring. There is nothing within this perfume which brings to mind sport, adrenaline, blood, or violence. I find it somewhat curious, consequently, that Guerlain sought to relate it to hunting. The only thing wearers of Habit Rouge were likely to be chasing on its release were sexual partners!
That statement isn’t made wholly in jest either. Habit Rouge is a gentleman’s fragrance, but it carries within its structure not only aspects of formality and traditional masculinity, but also sensuality and sensitivity. It is, as such, a fragrance well suited to old fashioned romantics. Indeed, if it didn’t have these traits, I’d argue that it wouldn’t have survived for the almost 60 years that it has. When you think about it, it’s almost incredible that, despite how radically concepts of masculinity have changed over the years, Habit Rouge has still been a regular seller for Guerlain, with devotees now spanning across 5 generations.
Created to be the younger brother to the company’s 1925 release, Shalimar it, like its sibling, contains a citrus top note, which descends into a floral heart, before culminating in a vanillic leather and amber base. Habit Rouge is not simply a three card trick, however, and its complete run of notes can be summarised as follows (as per Basenotes):
Top Notes: bergamot, lemon, rosewood, basil, pimento
Heart Notes: sandalwood, carnation, patchouli, cedar, rose, cinnamon
Base Notes: vanilla, amber, moss, leather, benzoin, labdanum, olibanum
When it comes to the head of the perfume, the real star of the show is the bergamot, which radiates wonderfully off the skin when first sprayed. Whilst it is effervescent, though, it is also a powdery affair. In fact, it can most accurately be described as being akin to orange sherbet - fizzing whilst maintaining a chalkiness. It is warm and reassuring as opposed to enthusiastic. It also maintains a cologne like structure, however, by incorporating herbal and spicy notes through the use of basil and rosewood.
This accord is then joined to a rose and carnation-dominant middle phase, through which the powdered facets of the fragrance continue to run, and through which the fragrance begins to show its romantic side.
Finally, the dry down of the fragrance provides a semi-sweet backdrop with the vanilla taking the edge away from the traditionally masculine moss and leather accords and combining with the rest of the ingredients to produce a soft, light amber.
It is not hard to see, in this context, why Habit Rouge has continued to be successful over the years - it, essentially, captures hearts and minds because it resonates with the personality of its wearer in a way that other traditional masculine fragrances can sometimes struggle to do (as they were often, like their owners of the period, more buttoned up).
Habit Rouge - Rouge Prive (2023)
That doesn’t mean that the EdT of Habit Rouge smells like it was composed yesterday, however. It just means that it has aged like a fine wine as opposed to being the perfume equivalent of a kipper tie. In fact, if it were any item of clothing, I’d compare it to a 1960s slim lapelled suit - of its time, but still stylish today.
Still, as the years have gone by, the term ‘legibility’ has become more and more important in the perfume industry, and there now seems to be a distinct trend towards the creation of perfumes whose formulas are more streamlined than Habit Rouge. Or to put it another way, perfumers are being encouraged to reduce the number of notes in a perfume’s composition, with the aim of producing a more direct product. For lovers of vintage fragrances, legibility can be an anathema but, personally, I have no issue with the principle behind the concept. Nor it appears, does Delphine Jelk. Enter Habit Rouge Rouge Prive.
Top Notes:Bergamot, Ginger
Middle Notes: Orange Blossom, Iris
Base Notes: Leather, Patchouli, Vanilla
As can be seen from the notes list, Rouge Prive maintains the structure of Habit Rouge (bergamot, floral, vanillic leather), but switches out or culls a number of the traditional accords that were contained within the original. Gone are the cologne-esque elements. Gone too are the powdery rose and carnation. The leather, meanwhile, has been amped up and modernised - more akin to Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather than Knize 10. Whisper it quietly, but it also seems that Jelk has snuck an oud accord in to the base too.
Given the number of changes, you could be forgiven for thinking that Rouge Prive would end up smelling completely different to the EdT, but fans of the OG need not worry - this is still unmistakably Habit Rouge. To paraphrase Persolaise (my favourite reviewer of perfumes), it’s like the whole perfume has simply been redrawn with clean bold lines. The bergamot continues to shimmer and, in spite of the florals being listed as Orange Blossom and Iris, the ultimate accord generated is still interpreted by my nose as being a rose. It is very much a rouge perfume as opposed to an orange or purple one (which is, incidentally, roughly what you get if you combine an iris hue and orange on a colour wheel…).
Where Rouge Prive differs to the EdT is in its brute strength. The leather note really does have a serious kick to it and, given that, the perfume is pulled from the bottom up, as opposed to the top diffusing off the skin to reveal the heart.
Whilst I’ve always found the EdT to perform quite well, the longevity of the Prive is genuinely outstanding, again due to the material in the base. Pleasingly though, the dry down still does maintain the powdered amber facets contained within the original. It’s a superb flanker that updates Habit Rouge without necessarily ripping up the original composition.
Habit Rouge Parfum (2024)
Not to rest on their laurels, Guerlain have now revisited Habit Rouge again in 2024, introducing a parfum version to go alongside new stablemates Vetiver Parfum and L’Homme Ideal Parfum.
I’ll say in advance that I’m a little sceptical of the allure of parfums myself, as I often find that the actual performance difference between fragrance concentrations can be completely counter-intuitive (I have EdTs that vastly out-perform EDPs and Parfums, both in terms of silage and longevity). In addition, given that Rouge Prive was already quite beastly, the necessity for a parfum to be made only a year later seems curious to me.
Parking those views for the moment though, the theme across these three new releases appears to be alcohol. In the case of Habit Rouge, the drink of choice is listed as rum, although there seems to be confusion in that regard, with Jelk being quoted in the marketing as saying:
For Habit Rouge Le Parfum, I Created a leathery vanilla liqueur with plenty of bold bourbon-inspired intensity
Perhaps Guerlain are suggesting that the perfume has been matured in bourbon casks? Hmm. In any event, the notes list for this one is as follows:
Bergamot, Vanilla, Rum, Patchouli
Well, I did say perfumers were streamlining their notes list, didn’t I!
What’s most striking to me about the Parfum is, firstly, how base heavy it is (we’re talking sub-woofer level) but, secondly, how patchouli dominant it is - there’s a definite chocolate element in that respect, but my nose also detects something slightly medicinal, smoked, and perhaps even burnt (think coffee beans). When combined with the vanilla, the result is a perfume that very much lies within the domain of the gourmand.
This is somewhat a blessing and a curse - if you’re not a particular fan of the EdT or Prive’s floral elements, you’re likely to get along a lot better with the Parfum. At the same time though, I’d argue that the floral heart of Habit Rouge is, to a large extent, key to its DNA, and vastly reducing the components that make this element ‘sing’ lead to a very different fragrance profile.
My second critique is that the perfume, generally, feels less balanced than Rouge Prive. I have no issue with the concept of a Habit Rouge that focuses on patchouli - readers of my previous pieces will know that I’m a huge fan of the note - I just wished that, on a technical level, the Parfum still maintained a decent top end. As it is, the whole thing sits very deep against the skin, with any radiance from the bergamot being buried by the heavier materials. This ultimately leads to a fragrance that, rather than being a sparkling rouge, comes across as a heavy-set chocolate and beige. Because of that, I can’t decide whether or not I’ve truly fallen for the Parfum.
That being said, you honestly couldn’t go wrong with any one of these three and I’ve no doubt they’ll appeal to different elements of the fragrance market. I look forward to Jelk’s next flanker in 2025, even if these variations are becoming a little bit akin to Marge Simpson’s Chanel jacket…!

Death valley nails- ouzle!
A few different shots of this thermal! The formula on this is absolutely exquisite. It feels like having a coat of glass on my fingernails (natural nails).
It’s my first time trying a thermal. The colors of this are just phenomenal. Even the gray (cool) is stunning, but in particular when the lighter color is activated (house cleaning, warming up my hands, etc.).
However, at “resting” temperature, I am kind of stuck with the “cool” color solidly across the nail with no gradient. Maybe my fingers run cool? Is it normal or common for a thermal to appear solid when you’re resting? I was hoping for a more omnipresent gradient.

2024.05.14 16:37 Kraaiboy 90's feeling, give me my life back! [Success story]

Hi everyone!
👀 I had already written a post to share with you my long-term detox method. I've been applying it for 4 months now, and it's quite incredible. I'm writing this message to give you feedback. Yes, I "succumbed to temptation" a few times, for example, to quickly make bank transfers, or to reply to some messages while comfortably seated on my couch. But those times were few, and I quickly realized that they were exceptional, so I would quickly put the phone back in the hallway of my apartment afterward. It's like take off your shoes or coat before entering home. 📌 Most of the time, I stick to what I've set up, and the well-being that comes from it is beyond what I hoped for. I come home from work and I'm at home, without distractions. I've even gotten into the habit of not immediately turning on my computer. I clean, exercise, listen to a record, meditate, write, read, and as a last resort, I turn on the computer (which can happen, it's a tool after all, and I really do need it often to watch a movie, listen to music, or take care of administrative tasks, make purchases, etc.). ♾️ Yesterday, I came home and I was like "transported" by the silence. Knowing that my phone is out of reach calms me. My overall anxiety has greatly decreased. Knowing that no one can disturb me. I took my e-reader and read for an hour sitting on a chair with the sound of the rain outside, fully in the moment, instead of wasting time on YouTube videos or Instagram feeds that I don't care about. It was magical, a moment for myself, to settle down, to refocus, a real "90's feeling". I also do this a lot during solitary walks without my phone (or in airplane mode at the bottom of my bag). As it turns out, the solution exists, it's within reach. Disconnecting. I still have progress to make on YouTube videos and using my computer, but I already feel much better. More present, in reality. 👉 As a reminder, my phone is in grayscale, I have TouchID on most apps to slow myself down, Apple's screen time feature, and ScreenZen on top of that. I removed Instagram, I just have Tumblr and Pinterest on it, in terms of social networks, and Signal/Whatsapp.
Maybe it's because I work all day long on a computer at work, but unless it's for write or watching movies, I really feel that screens (and not only computers) are toxic in a lot of ways. They suck our energy, focus, desire. It's awful. I hope this message motivates some of you to try my method and above all, to free yourselves from this digital life that isn't worth it.
🙌

2024.05.14 15:57 reluctantseahorse Save my mattress!

Save my mattress!
You’re looking at 4 ounces of half baby formula half whole milk, dumped straight into our king-size Endy mattress. Turns out hubby didn’t put the bottle lid on properly.
Why is the mattress cover off?? Haha funny you should ask! This already happened 2 days ago and it’s hanging to dry.
So that’s 4 ounces of warm dairy straight to the foam. I’m fuming and crying! I’m a SAHM mom and this bed is my sanctuary. Please help. 😓
I’ve already spend 40 mins standing on it, alternating new clean towels every few mins. It’s still wet on top and god knows what’s happening underneath this top layer of foam.
Is there any way to fix this?

Hi friends, I'm back with thoughts on my new Nui Cobalt Critters! For my reviews of 24 past Critters (including all of the Rabbits and Squirrels), see my recent post HERE. As I wrote before, this collection isn't entirely sweet cuddly woodland creatures, but it does have a lot of those, including three of my all-time favorite Nui Cobalts: Little Brown Rabbit, Little White Rabbit, and Lilac Rabbit (so of course I had to try this year's new Rabbit!) Here are my thoughts on five of this year's new releases, with an unexpected favorite...
Ordering specs: Nui Cobalt's website is easy to navigate, shipping is very affordable at $3.45, items come very securely packed, and customer service is always spectacular. I don't think I've ever placed an order that took more than 2-3 business days to ship (and recently it has usually been literally the very next day). Samples are generous - 1.15 mls at least - in vials with wand caps. Each order comes with one free sample, chosen by them (there’s no box to insert requests).
Nui Cobalt's typical annual schedule of releases: (I [and especially Nui Cobalt] make no promises, of course, that these collections will recur; this is just in my experience)
These perfumes were provided as press samples by Nui Cobalt in exchange for an honest review.

Golden Retriever [Sunflower, amber resin, budding dogwood, fenugreek, and fresh-baked bread] Toast! A warm, ambery, spiced scent featuring toast made from a slightly sweetened bread. It's remarkable how sunny and summery this is - yet it's unmistakeably toast, and I keep getting distracted by this scent as I do other things, absentmindedly wondering where the breakfast is. If you like Poesie Amaterasu [Golden sandalwood incense, rice milk, bright cardamom, amber, dry wheat, and sunflowers], you'd love this; it has that same amiable warmth (though, of course, without the cardamom). As it starts to dry, the botanicals (the dogwood and fenugreek) come out more strongly (still with spiced ambery toast as a strong base note).
Red Admiral Butterfly [Blood orange, nasturtium flower, coriander, subtle blackwood, wild strawberry, and fresh garden basil] - This strawberry-blood orange combination is fabulous - the blood orange actually doesn't stick out much by itself, but it makes the strawberry note super juicy and takes away the candied artificiality of most strawberry notes in perfume. LOVE. I'm not super into this strong basil note, though. I love fruity-florals, but not so much fruity-herbals, and this is very much "juicy strawberry + basil and other dried herbs from a witch's cottage" (the "other dusty herbs" bit must be from the coriander note?). If they ever do that strawberry-blood orange combo again, I'll be all over it, it's quite stunning!
Black Sheep [Clean lamb's wool accord, myrrh resin, black seed, ambrette, and barely a whisper of oudh] - This is dusty twilight in a bottle. It's peaceful evening; it's cozy winter snuggles; it's the exhale when you can finally rest. It's undeniably dark, but soft and gentle, and I'd even describe it as gauzy. There is indeed but a whisper of myrrh and oud, just enough to make it dusty and dark, with the softest (and totally non-sheepy) cashmere and clean, slightly powdery ambrette. It doesn't have great longevity, lasting just under half a day on me, but holy wow is it amazing. I didn't know what to expect with this one - just looking at the notes, it's easy to think it could be too smoky or harsh - but it's beautiful.
Black Swan [Smooth tobacco, wild violet, humid black orchid, Peru balsam, clove bud, and a touch of star anise] - This feels like the bolder cousin of Black Sheep - it shares the same kind of dark, dusky beauty, but is significantly stronger, bolder, and less cuddly. The violets and anise (licorice) are strongest, with a really fruity purple plum/fig note too that's not at all listed but definitely arrives on my skin, over a base of the smoothest tobacco. Husband loves this tobacco. "Bring me that bottle," he declared upon sniffing my wrist, "I want to see what it does on my skin." And woah, it's SO different on him - the balsam is SO much stronger, making this a woody tobacco with a gently floral background. Are any of us surprised that he snaffled it?
Harlequin Rabbit [Nutmeg and tonka bean nuzzle up against toasted marshmallow, auburn cashmere, white pepper, black tea, and a trace of carrot seed] - Where Little Brown Rabbit is the snuggly evening one, Little White Rabbit is the clean elegant one, and Lilac Rabbit the soft pretty one, Harlequin Rabbit feels to me like the rainy-day one. I love this concept of the harlequin rabbit - that's a real rabbit coloring, by the way, and SUPER pretty, look it up! - created here by the Rabbit base plus black and white notes. This scent features a strong marshmallow note, the pretty, clean soapiness of Little White Rabbit, and malty notes not yet recognizable as black tea. It's cheeky, to be sure, but it also feels young, like it needs time to grow into itself. Nui Cobalt has a gorgeous black tea note, but it's surprisingly (and disappointingly) not that strong in this scent. Right now, Harlequin Rabbit feels like tea-dusted marshmallows (plus that soapy cottonflower note) rather than the more autumnal "rich black tea with marshmallow sweetness and a peppery bite" that I'm hoping it will develop into. I think it'll get there with a little aging, and indeed, the black tea and white pepper have already become stronger just over the course of my multiple wears of this, one a few days after its arrival and the other just yesterday (a week and a half later). Meanwhile, Husband interestingly smells generic "spices" from the tea and pepper, and says that the scent overall reminds him of Christmas markets (and he's quite enthusiastic in his praise of this one on me).

Personally...

I like Harlequin Rabbit (and it will certainly join my collection, standing alongside my other beloved Rabbits) but I don't yet love it as much as I thought I would. I really do think it just needs time to finish growing into itself. Black Sheep is the quiet standout for me - she's soft and unassuming, but she's a stunner. Red Admiral Butterfly is also quite a triumph - that glorious juicy strawberry! - and anybody who likes (or at least won't mind) the herbal notes should absolutely give it a try. All five of these truly have such artistry and strength of character, so you can't go wrong if you pick the ones that have notes you love.

2024.05.14 14:29 tazinwonderland listless and unwanted and tired of myself

Been waking up feeling 'off' for the past week, I know its my fault because I've been smoking joints every day for the past month so now I'm putting it aside again cos it seems like I just can't have a regular relationship with it. I quit after smoking daily for months from Feb-Oct last year, then had a 2 month clean stint til mid December where I started smoking daily again pretty much immediately, then quit again for 2 months mid jan up to early april and been smoking multiple times a day since then. I keep kidding myself I can use casually but it obviously affects my studies and I'm way less inclined to be social since I just feel a bit reluctant/out of place/at loss for words when sober with people. When I'm high it's almost always by myself since I like to get in a zone for hobbies, work, whatever, so I become really introverted. I'm just pissed that I gotta do another detox cos I'm so unmotivated during them and spend hours listlessly arranging and rearranging stuff instead of working and I don't really feeling like talking to people, I have nothing to say bcos I'm dissociating. I don't even really like getting high that much, its just that I get bored so easily and it gets rid of that 'itch' for me to focus (ADHD meds help but not 100%)
Plus I was rejected by someone I had a crush on for a year after working up the guts to tell them (twice, cos the first time I was too drunk to remember anything). Which is mostly fine but my brain is clearly stuck on it anyway since I keep dreaming about kissing them even though I was rejected like 4 months ago. Kinda awkward cos we are still in the same loose friend group and coupled with my lack of confidence in socialising, my self-worth is abit lower than it could be cos I don't feel like I can act relaxed and confident around them, which I would hope sends a message that I'm not upset or hung up over it (lol I totally am but I don't want the friend group dynamic to be weird plus I enjoy their company). I'm gonna persist with quitting cos I like my sober self much better and will probably try to avoid seeing the dude, though it kind of means I'll miss hanging out with friends sometimes but I just feel so lame and unwanted when I am around him so I guess it's better that I do some work anyway
don't really need sympathy or advice but if you relate pls share your stories so I can feel a little less pathetic in mutual solidarity lol

AITAH for passing out during a family gathering meant to introduce our new baby?

So, recently I(27F) had a beautiful baby girl with my husband(29M). She's my pride and joy, I love her more than I love myself. But, taking care of her has taken its toll on me. My husband promised the work would be 50/50 when we agreed we wanted children, but I don't feel that's being reflected by his actions this past month.
It's gotten to the point where I can't even ask him to wash her up without him saying something along the lines of, "My paternity leave is short, I want to make the most of it by relaxing a bit. I'll help you out later." And I get it. His paternity leave is only 6 weeks while mine is 16 weeks, but my nether regions hurt like a bitch for a better part of two weeks after the birth and all he could do for me was occasionally burp her.
Now, my baby girl has gotten to a phase where she doesn't want to sleep. She'll sleep for an hour, but then she's up and back to crying and I have to get up and try to soothe her. It's been happening for a week now and I've gotten so little sleep that I'm nodding off while eating or doing tge laundry and stuff. Saturday was the month anniversary of my daughter's birth, so I decided to gather both sides of the family to meet her. (They hadn't met her prior because a)I wanted to rest as much as I could and b)I heard somewhere that you shouldn't be taking babies out and about when they're fresh out the womb cause they're more prone to illness then).
So, we had this gathering at my mother's house and all was well. Everyone was cooing over our baby, there was food, people were catching up or meeting for the 1st time. It was nice. But, I had gotten about 3 hours(generous estimate) of sleep in total the past week and I was starting to feel the effects of it. I was feeling lightheaded and clammy, but I didn't wanna make a scene so I tried to go to a bedroom to lie down. I didn't take 10 steps before my vision completely blacked out.
I wasn't down for long, but I had fallen over which drew some attention. I explained to everyone who was concerned that I was fine and that I was just not getting enough sleep and I could see my husband visibly frown at that. They gave me some of the dessert my aunt made to get my sugar up and the party continued. I felt embarrassed about the whole thing, especially since everyone was still looking over me til we left, but it's whatever
What bothered me is my husband's reaction. When we got home, he started going off on me about how I "made him look bad" and like "he wasn't taking care of me". I was confused on how tf me passing out made HIM look bad, but he refused to explain himself and had a pity party for himself in the kitchen.
I was still feeling bad, so I decided to leave him alone and just to go sleep, but he seems to have taken that as a sign that I don't care about his feelings. He's in my ear this morning about how I just ignored him to go sleep last night and how I didn't even put the baby to sleep before leaving. Is he right? AITAH here?

Update: So I've tried talking with him, but he's been ignoring me and the baby the last three hours. I'd usually wait longer, but I'm just too tired to deal with this right now. You guys were right, I do need help with this, and he's made it very clear he's not ready to help me yet, so I'm just going to go to my mom's place. I'm currently packing. I'm so done.

NTA and I can’t call your husband the names I want to because my comment will be deleted.
Paternity leave isn’t a time to relax, it’s a time you’re helping raise the baby and spending time together as a family. CLEARLY he is not doing either of these things as A. You’d be better rested and B. He’d have noticed you’re exhausted.
You passing out made him look bad because it was clear to everyone that you’re being left to raising your baby alone. It’s clearly not a partnership and the AH you’re married to is turning it onto you to shift responsibility and blame.
You need to seriously reconsider the relationships future and bring this up with him as it all comes down to him and his behaviour. If he gets his shit together, then things will be much better. But if he doesn’t, you and your daughter deserve so much better.

awaythrowers97
He doesn't know what "paternity leave" is and doesn't really want to take care of his family. Sadly, you can't seem to shake that loser.

ArticleOld598
This deadbeat of a father and husband is using his 6 weeks to laze around instead of using it taking care of his wife & child.
OP you said you love your baby more than yourself, would you want to let her grow up and think that it's normal for wives to push themselves while they're sleepless and in pain until they faint & husbands to berate them instead of worrying & taking care of them?
Tell your parents that your husband doesn't help you at all & blamed you for "making him look bad". You know what else makes him look bad? Being a deadbeat father and partner.

Update - 1 day later

Hi all, your comments were really helpful, so thank you!
Yesterday, before I could Uber to my mom's house, my sister offered to help me, so I'm staying with her instead. She's taking PTA to help me out with my girl, which I'm very grateful for. She also gave me sleep medicine that knocked me out for hours (I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not, but I slept long and well so I don't care.)
I woke up a few hours ago to tons, and I mean TONS, of messages from my husband. Like, the little app icon had 99+ on it. Here are some of the things he said(copy pasted):

I would screenshot, but it says this community doesnt allow attachments, so i can't. And I know it's a bit weird to tell yall what he's been texting me, but I'm mad right now and this feels therapeutic lol. I already sent the screenshots to his mom though!
As for my baby, I have an appointment to a paediatrician for Wednesday, but for now she's on formula since my breast milk quality isn't the best for understandable reasons. My sister said she wasn't as fussy as I described, so I really think the problem is with my milk. That or my sister wanted to make me feel better for sleeping, who knows. I'll wait for the doctor's opinion.
I'm not feeling 100% but I feel a whole lot more better than before. Thank you to everyone who showed concern! I think this will be the last update since I wanna not think too much about my husband rn.

I am sooo glad you left and got some help and rest. You definitely need and deserve it.
I still can't get over your husband's mental gymnastics here. He hasn't been a parent, hasn't helped you at all, and hasn't really spent any time caring for his daughter and only cares about what other people (besides you) think, but "misses his baby girl" and wants you to come back "so we can go back to being happy"?! Sounds like the only person who was happy was him--he got a 6 week vacation and didn't have to lift a finger. Let me guess-you were doing all the cooking and cleaning on top of caring for the baby? From what he is texting you, he thinks he did nothing wrong. He is being deliberately obtuse.
To add insult to injury he calls you a bitch and threatens you with the cops. Lovely. He is a real peach.
I really want to know what his mom has to say. Does she know he was mad at you for passing out?

Efficient-Cupcake247
Because it isn't about love. It is about control and image. Please keep strong. You have done a fabulous job doing what you need to for you and baby. Best wishes

blehguardian
To be clear, kidnapping is not involved. Until a custody agreement is submitted to the court, either married parent is legally permitted to take their child for any reason.

Aggravating-Pipe-903
Damn, this dude is crazy. Hopefully next update it’ll be ex-husband

AITAH for passing out during a family gathering meant to introduce our new baby? LAST UPDATE - 4 days later

For all of you who wanted to know what his mother's reaction was, she yelled at him and he made that my problem. The things he's messaged me are vile. And even though MIL was mad at him and KNOWS what he's been saying to me, she still insisted that I go visit him face to face so we can work things out.
I don't really blame her. He's her son, of course she'd still want to help him, but still....With all the ways he's been threatening me and cussing me out, I really didnt want to see him, but I decided to go. Mostly because I needed the stuff that I left at our house.
I went with my sister for safety, obviously. We got there and he played with our baby, he offered to feed her (she wasn't hungry), just acting completely different from the man texting me about how much of a "heartless bitch" I am. I didn't really feel comfortable having him near me or the baby with how violent his texts were, but she's still his baby. I don't think the courts would favour him after I show his texts, but I thought I should rather be safe and allow him some form of contact before going to court. This was a mistake.
At the end of the visit, I decided I should go pack my stuff, since that was one of the only reason I agreed to come. But, I didn't feel comfortable not being there while he had my baby. Yeah, my sister was there and I trust her, but I'd rather watch her with my own eyes. So, my sister went upstairs to pack for me. As soon as she was gone, he started talking about "See? I'm good now I can take care of her." And other stuff but that wasn't the problem. Even if he became super dad, I wouldn't be able to see him the same. Not after all those messages he sent me.
I told him that and he got pissed at me. I was getting worried since my daughter was still in his arms, so I tried to deescalate his feelings. It didn't work and he started yelling at me for "being heartless" and "stubborn" and whatnot. I wasn't really focused on what he was saying, I was focused on my baby. I tried to reach out for her and he shoved me hard enough to fall back. My sister came down and tried to help, but he shoved her away too and ran to the guest room and locked himself and MY BABY in there. He refused to come out unless my sister left and i stayed behind. I can't tell y'all how scary it is to not know what's happening to your child.
It took officers almost 30 minutes to get him out, which pissed me off. Like I know they were probably trying to assess the danger or whatever but I just wanted my baby. In that 30 minute window he could've shaken her or threw her out the window or something and they were there asking him to come out like he was a child and not breaking down the door. She was fine, though, so I can't be too mad.
They didn't arrest him since "no harm was done" even though my sister and I have bruises to prove otherwise, but they held him outside while I packed my stuff. It actually bothers me that they didn't at least detain him, but there's not much I can do about it now. I don't think I'm going to go near him again. Not with my baby. I'm thinking of going to apply for that emergency custody thing yall were talking about.
This happened on Wednesday and I'm still shaken. It's really depressing, for a lack of better word, seeing how much he's changed. I really loved him and I felt he loved me too. How he's acting is crushing me. I feel deflated. My baby girl and my sister are really the only things keeping me going right now.
I'm sorry for the wall of text, it's just that texting this all out helps me feel better. But, I don't think I want to continue updating. Just know that we're splitting up. Thank you all for your support!!
Extra: after visiting the doctor, I've decided to just skip the hassle and formula feed. She seems happier with formula anyways.

OMG document everything. Take pictures of the bruises. Go see a doctor and tell the doctor you just need things documented to protect yourself and your baby. File a police report for assault and both you and your sister write detailed statements of everything that happened. Then apply for emergency custody.

georgiajl38
Go to the police station and file a report for assault. Screw those cops. They didn't have to take him but the assault report should have definitely been filed. Get in front of a magistrate asap!!!

Bridgerton Perfume Thoughts
This perfume feels like falling into your lover's arms after a long walk through a flower meadow at dusk, your skirts splattered with mud, sweaty from the Summer sun. It starts off very herbal and heavy on the rosemary but that only lasts a few seconds, and as it dries down it really does smell like a bouquet of flowers. These are not fresh flowers however, but flowers that are perhaps a little past their prime, not yet rotted but beginning to wilt. Ultimately, ylang-ylang takes over and gives a buttery base to this fragrance that in my opinion makes it more mature and a little grandmother-y. It's interesting, and I enjoy it, but it doesn't scream Bridgerton family to me. It's too heavy, where the Bridgertons feel fresh and light. For a fragrance representing the show it does quite well, but for the Bridgertons themselves I would have liked to see some Wisteria in the notes, and a more soapy, clean feel overall.

2024.05.14 11:31 ImrZyz Unable to match 2 same staff IDs.

Hi,
I have a 2 sheets. Sheet 1 with staff IDs which doesnt include 0 in the beginning and sheet 2 also has the same staff IDs but they include 0 in the beginning or an alphabet (A,B,C) at the end. I need to match these 2 staff IDs to see which one i have and which one isnt in the list, but due to the 0 in the beginning of my Ids in sheet 2 my match or lookup doesn’t work.
What can i do in this scenario, is there a quick way of data cleaning or any formula which would help me find the IDs ? Thanks

Vashikaran Tilak 100% full Granted
Vashikaran tilak is a symbolic mark or sign that is applied on the forehead as part of vashikaran rituals in tantra and astrology. Vashikaran means to have power or control over someone while tilak is the mark. The vashikaran tilak is considered to be an object with magical and supernatural abilities that can assist in the control and manipulation of people or situations when applied properly according to the ritualistic processes.
Vashikaran Tilak
The Principle of Vashikaran Tilaks is the basis for this issue. According to the ancient Indian occult sciences the positioning of a tilak is very strategic and specific. The area that is between the eyebrows, also known as the ajna chakra, is the region that keeps the one's hidden psychic abilities and occult powers. By putting a vashikaran tilak on the ajna chakra region, one can unlock and activate those mystical powers that are present in a person.
The vashikaran tilaks are made of special herbal mixtures that are believed to have the psychoactive compounds that can make you do the things you want to do. Through the ajna area during the hardship vashikaran rituals, these compounds are gradually absorbed into the body. Thus, the person's ajna chakra becomes more alive and the inner psychic and mental energies are activated. The vashikaran tilak explores these psychic energies and thus the person is able to control and attract the desired people and situations.
Different kinds of Vashikaran Tilaks are: 1) The grain of the ground, 2) The ash of the Holy one, 3) The wax of the holy believer, 4) The water of the holy. There are many recipes and procedures to prepare specialized vashikaran tilaks in tantra for various purposes:There are many recipes and procedures to prepare specialized vashikaran tilaks in tantra for various purposes:
  • To get and to control and to direct an individual’s thoughts and feelings. Topical tilaks are the most common of them all which include the use of ashes or special marks made out of turmeric, sandalwood, vermillion etc.
  • The objective being to bring wealth and prosperity. Tilaks formed out of the combinations of coins, herbs, spices, and precious metals are worth the while.
  • Gain the support of people who hold power. In many, the herbo-mineral preparations which have tilaks are being used.
  • Get the desire of a man/woman with or stay in control of the attraction of the desired persons. Some of these vashikaran tilaks are sex strokes like birth stones, sexual liquids, and body hairs.
The right kind of vashikaran tilak is selected after a careful analysis of the goal, target person details like name, date of birth etc. also, the specific enchanting of the tilak and the way of applying it are very important.
The method of applying Vashikaran Tilak is as follows. Here is a brief overview of the ritualistic procedure involved:Here is a brief overview of the ritualistic procedure involved:
  • The Ajna can be thoroughly cleaned and purified by the area of the ajna chakra.
  • The chant vashikaran mantras will be the means to enliven and activate the tilak mixture.
  • The clean ring finger should be used to cautiously apply the tilak mark in the middle of the eyebrows.
  • Make sure you have the correct thickness and shape as the instructor has asked you to.
  • Meditation after the application will help in the intake of tilak energies.
  • Occasionally, the tilak has to be applied again if the impact seems to disappear.
Precautions To Take Some precautions need to be kept in mind when using vashikaran tilak methods:
  • Look for an elderly and experienced vashikaran expert's help in conducting the right procedures.
  • Do not put tilak mark on any other part of the body, as it is not allowed.
  • Follow the instructions and do not mix more than the given amount. Excess can be harmful
  • Ladies ought to refrain from using such tilaks when they are on their menstrual period.
  • Stop the use if skin irritation, headache or nausea is encountered.
  • Do not using the vashikaran skills to control people's consent.
Vashikaran tilaks are the ways to utilize the mystical powers of the mind and the energies of nature through the ritualistic means. The vashikaran tilak can be a successful approach when used wisely and under the supervision of a knowledgeable guide as part of the astrological solutions or tantrik methods.
Nevertheless, one should not forget about the possible negative effects or misuse of the methods. The motive and aim of the vashikaran decides whether it becomes a blessing or a curse.

2024.05.14 08:30 caltexlubricants TECHRON – DOES YOUR FUEL ADDITIVE HAS WHAT IT TAKES?

TECHRON – DOES YOUR FUEL ADDITIVE HAS WHAT IT TAKES?
As your engine burns fuel, carbon builds up in the fuel injectors and inside the combustion chambers. When you shut your vehicle off, little droplets of fuel will evaporate where they rest, leaving behind minute traces of degraded fuel. This grunge develops over time and depletes your engine’s ability to run efficiently. Fuel system cleaners and specifically fuel injector cleaners removes this grunge and buildup out of your injectors and the fuel system of your engine, increasing your engine’s efficiency and restore lost performance.
https://preview.redd.it/arlgyj1i6c0d1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0799e9d5756d8cdf4157cfe6d1d3486f85852c0c
So, if there is one question that is uppermost on the minds of automotive company owners or car owners, it is whether their car be it a test car or used car- are using the right fuel additive that ensures the optimum performance of the car even after running for over a considerable period.
This is where it has been proven that Techron concentrate plus can make a difference. Before delving into the benefits of using Techron concentrate plus, it is crucial to understand the problems that automotive company owners or car owners face.
While some of the common challenges that these car owners discuss are: poor acceleration; pinging of the car; cold start problems; reduced fuel economy, it is often ignorance that there are no products strong enough to make a difference, especially in cleaning the fuel injectors, combustion chambers, valves, etc. in the engine.
Then there is another myth that when you drive your car and can hear the engine making sounds, and can feel that the drive is not smooth enough, there is a tendency to first think of taking your car to a mechanic. Yet more often than not, the problem lies in inferior fuel and fuel without an effective detergent. This problem can be resolved by using a high-performing fuel system cleaner (comment: TCP has been used above & to be consistent, it should be fuel system cleaner).
The best thing about Techron Concentrate Plus is that it not only debunks these myths but also delivers more than it promises. This product is a great option when looking to clean your entire fuel system. Not only will it target the fuel injectors, but will also clean and restore carburetors, combustion chambers, and intake valves. The Techron Concentrate Plus formula won’t harm oxygen sensors or affect catalytic converters and is safe for all gasoline engines.
Techron Concentrate Plus maximizes your fuel economy by keeping your fuel system free of buildup and deposits. It restores older vehicle horse-power by cleaning the fuel system. Additionally, it conserves your key fuel system engine parts from deposit buildup and enhances cold starts and sustains stored fuel in the gas tank for up to one year. While it resolves engine knocking or pinging and reduces spark plug fouling, rough idling, engine hesitation and engine surge issues, it also lessens vehicle emissions.
It is crucial to remember that most modern engines are created with airtight engineering tolerances and designed to be at their best when they are clean and deposit-free. The fuel system is often overlooked during routine maintenance by most car owners and motorists. Stop using other fuel additives in the marketplace, stick to Techron Concentrate Plus formula to clean your entire fuel system regularly. Use with every 3,000 to 5,000 miles to improve fuel consumption for up to a year.

2024.05.14 06:00 Proof_Room_4004 A shaky start: Sucreabeille reviews from the vaults

I've been playing with my sample spreadsheet and was reminded that I literally relegated Sucreabeille to its own tab away from everyone else because I felt so negatively! They were my intro to indies, when I didn't know how to research scents or houses yet. I was hesitant to purchase because their marketing vibe didn't mesh with me, but I was convinced by the fawning reviews on almost every scent (on their website). At the time, I also didn't realize how expensive Suc is compared to many other brands!
I figured I could post these as a counterpoint to the mostly positive reviews that showed up when I searched for Suc scents. I'm sure the house works really well for some, but it REALLY didn't for me. Their pure gourmands worked better, but I haven't worn my top rated scent from this batch since I tried it out. I rested all of these for two weeks before testing, and I haven't revisited them since I got through all of them a few weeks after that.
My tastes: I really like rich resins and non-nag incense, as well as a spectrum of flormands and gourmands. I don't love fruits, green/aquatic scents or many dirt/dead leaf scents. Top houses: Olympic Orchids, Mythpunk Olfactive, Solstice Scents. Mid houses: Nui Cobalt, Cocoa Pink. Low hit rates: Suc, Alkemia, Possets, Haus of Gloi, BPAL GC
With that, I hope you enjoy my record of bewilderment.
BELSNICKEL Hot espresso with juniper berries and brown sugar.
CHAOS WITCH Freshly cut magnolias and moonflowers play with nutmeg cream.
DO NO HARM, TAKE NO SHIT Plums, nectarines, apricots, and blackberries sparkle on a bed of sage and fallen leaves deep in the autumnal forest.
AFTERGLOW Dark chocolate, amber, honey.
CREAM TEA A warm mug of creamy, frothy, caffeine-injected tea. A blend of chai tea, burnt sugar, white musk, warm milk, and hot scones slathered with raspberry jam and honey.
YOUR SKELETON IS ALWAYS WET Pistachio and almond with exotic spices.
COVEN A cauldron of herbs float in black, golden, and white ambers. Fir needles, cedarwood, and autumn leaves against a backdrop of pumpkin spice and sassafras.
AMAZONIA Pear, fig, blueberry, ylang ylang.
SMOKE AND DECAY Warm snickerdoodle cookies dipped in buttercream frosting, campfire wood smoke, crisp red apple, Indian sandalwood, a freshly poured oatmeal stout, orange spiced chai tea.
VENOM Oud wood, smoked patchouli, coal, freshly paved tar, cedarwood.
HOCUS POCUS Wormwood, bitter almond, figs, violets, nicotina, sparkling aldehyde.

2024.05.14 05:15 Background_Act96 Bought first can of formula after 8 mos of pumping

I just dropped from 4 ppd to 3 ppd at 8 months postpartum because I couldn’t handle the last pump of the night anymore. It was stopping me from going to sleep early enough to get enough hours to function.
I noticed my supply starting to drop already, so I did some research and bought my first can of formula to start transitioning my baby from solely breast milk to formula.
I’m so proud of myself for making it to 8 months (with probably enough of a stash and the time it takes my supply to totally dwindle getting us to 9-10 months). I’m also feeling guilty for not making it to a year. I’m stressed that she won’t take well to formula. I want to celebrate my dedication to breastfeeding her when nursing didn’t work out. I also feel like I’m losing part of my identity as my supply goes away - I had so much wrapped up in the ounces I produced. I’m still sad about not nursing as much/for as long as I wanted. I think I’m a badass for the endless hours I spent pumping, cleaning bottles, storing milk, freezing milk, planning ahead for pumping on trips in planes, cars, bars, restaurants, all for my baby.
I just have soooo many emotions, and this felt like the place to share. This community has provided me with so much support over these months and I am so grateful!
