2024.05.14 18:02 Character-Set-6228 Moving to Buffalo

Hi all, I’m planning to move from Dallas,TX to Buffalo closer to the end of June. Can I get some advice on how I can move my stuff?
I call any moving company they say it’s gonna cost me approximately 2K to move everything from here. I even spoke with UPS/FEDEX for the estimate of just the important items( any I couldn’t fit in my luggage bags excluding all the furniture)that would sum up to 120LBS and the quote is 1.5K.
Would it be worth to leave everything here and start from zero there? Or do I have to look deeper to find a better company?
Need help, any advice would be appreciated! TIA
PS: I don’t know how to drive, I know a huge bummer.

If you need to hack into something, for three minutes you can just hit random buttons, say “I’m in”, then actually gain all the target’s information
If you’re losing a fight, you can turn on epic music and start beating everyone 1vs20
When everything is going wrong, you can temporarily invoke the “all is lost moment” and perform a comeback worthy of a Rocky film

2024.05.14 18:01 epileptick Credit for wins in OWC

I'm sorry this is a lot of words. The simple version is: I wasn't getting credit for wins. I fixed it. Now I know the problem is a servebug issue. I want help from the players to get microsoft/EA to fix it.
The long story is this:
For the last year I haven't been credited for my wins more than approx 30% of the time. Originally i thought it was people glitching the system to leave early and rob me of the win. But soon i realized that it happened even fighting people i knew were honest. The only way I could get a win was to not skip end game cutscene, then in the score screen I had to wait about 2 mins before pressing A or it would say something like "the server could not be reached" or something like that and I got no win. But losses happened EVERY TIME. Weird eh?
Long story short i found some posts talking about making a new xbox account with a yahoo email. This worked. I do get credited for my wins now. There is clearly no one responsible for this other than Microsoft and EA. The players are just victims of server issues and bad porting to xboxone.
Before this started- I was one of the people being called a hacker - i was the one always getting wins - rarely losses. And I couldn't lose a fight if I tried. I had records of like 30-0 before I would lose a fight.
Well now I lose more than I win. And I'm no noob. I'm really good. I have been #1 on Canadian leaderboards and won belts more times than I can remember. I even proved my skill to a friend once by getting #1 on ps3 as well.
Fast forward to now. I see the issue. It still needs to be fixed. I shouldn't have had to buy all the XP packs and add-ons again just to play the game and get credited for wins online. We pay $20 monthly sub to play this game online. You can't play online without that sub. And they let the game get THIS messed up. It's criminal.
Anyway I just wanted to share my experience so people stop making nonstop posts saying "hackers" are responsible for this. It's annoying. Please stop. Make a yahoo account and try for yourself.
There is one very weird problem now.... I can't delete my character and start over. My record stays even if I make a new fighter. If this was the case for everyone I would have no problem with it. But clearly there are bugs making some people more fortunate than others.
My BEST GUESS at what's happening, is the old tuner sets are staying active for old accounts and new accounts have the newest. Or something like this. Because I'm not flash KOing people ever anymore. And before it was almost every figut in the first 3 rounds. I remember the early days of FNC they tried updating tuner sets to allow less flash KOs.
I used to be the one flashing everyone and now very often I get flashed by a bum in the first round. This is why I have so many losses. I'll usually be winning then get flashed.
How do we fix this? How do we make EA and Microsoft listen? A petition? I'm not a fan of making posts just to complain. I want everyone to put their heads together so we can fix this once and for all. It's illegal what they are doing. We bought this game. They have no right to do this. In Canada very soon there will be strict laws preventing developers from abandoning games like this. But I fear Microsoft knows this and that's why the Xbox store is going offline for FNC in a couple months. I hope it's the opposite and they are making it work better. But I fear we will get abandoned before the laws pass.
Help me people. What do we do?

2024.05.14 18:00 Quick_Secret2705 She’s ruining my marriage and our family

My mother in law is a classic boomer narc emotional abuser. If my husband asks her to respect a boundary or lets her know she hurt him in anyway she absolutely plays the victim in such a huge dramatic psychotic way. A few months ago she went full spiral from hell complete with suicide threats. She harassed me and stressed me out while I was pregnant. She created a flying monkey with one son who jumps to her defense in a second and talks so much crap about me. Smear campaigns the whole 9. She’s just a miserable vile human unless she’s being kept happy.
I 10000% stand by if any normal human heard story of what happened in December that no one would side with her. And def no one would blame me but then there’s my husband.
The day it started I tried letting him know what she did upset me. I felt violated in my own house. His first response was she wouldn’t do that and I’m known to be dramatic. And keep in mind I was pregnant for months he fought me on this. There was a point it was so bad I seriously thought about divorce being the only viable option. I refuse to let another human being abuse me and def not my children so if he couldn’t see his mother was a whack job I couldn’t stay and it sucked because I love him more than anyone I’ve ever known. We genuinely have no other real issues. Normal couple stuff here and there but overall we are insanely compatible except with his mom and it broke my heart he would let his own abuser break us up.
Months of fighting and I still he started to understand. We def seem to be more on the same page. Even if we see things different we can agree on some core issues. In that time she’s continued to cross his boundaries because she can’t help herself lol literally she makes it worse for herself by the second she’s so psychotic. But in her head she’s a victim always 1000000000% of the time. She’s also absolutely delusional.
Anyway. I don’t care what she does as long as I can stay no contact and our kids are protected from her. If he wants a relationship for god knows what reason I support it. I do realize he’s an abuse victim. So many things seems normal to him because she’s been abusing him since birth. His entire existence was created to make her happy. I personally have u fortunately Ron the gauntlet of abuse by my own parents and I really do believe emotional is up there with one of the hardest to overcome because that’s literally how you’re raised and taught to act. So I give him grace and I’m trying to work on myself and now i react to things.
Mother’s Day though. Pretty sure it broke me. I’m trying to get over it but idk if I can or how long it’ll take. The morning was a stupid grumpy morning because we are both exhausted adults with babies so I get it. But I saw a notification on Facebook that he tagged me in something. In the past he’s written really sweet stuff about me on occasion and I really thought that’s what it was. I was excited to read it but when I opened the page it’s a one line basic happy Mother’s Day but to me and his mom. She’s blocked because seeing her name on anything literally gives me anxiety and I want to vomit and he thought this was a good idea.
Of course I lost it. I was so hurt. And he says “I shouldn’t have to choose between my wife and mother” that’s what broke me. You know what he’s right he shouldn’t but it’s not my fault. He said he didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings etc. so he chose to hurt mine who literally hasn’t done anything but hold his mom accountable to protect our kids. He could’ve written something nice and still posted something separate for his mom on her wall if he really felt like it. Or honestly just dont Post anything which wouldnt hurt as bad.
So the mother of his children who works her as off taking care of two under two, keeping the house as clean as possible, dinner every night, pack his lunch for work, work on myself and apologize if I do hurt his feelings, the woman he’s supposedly loves gets nothing because for forbid we hurt the mother who’s done nothing but act like a lunatic for 6 months.
I know he truly believes it’s both of us and it’s not. It’s her fault. She’s unwell. She’s miserable. She’s manipulative and actually emotionally abusive. So go cry we can never have a normal relationship with her. I don’t care. I’ll be the villian to protect my kids and hopefully now that I feel absolutely nothing but emptiness it won’t hurt anymore. I’m literally broken.

2024.05.14 17:59 Tuffwith2Fs This Sub Needs Some Perspective

First, we all acknowledge the obvious: last night sucked. It hurt not only to lose but to lose in the way they did. And most of us here are very invested sports fans, which by definition usually means we're prone to overreact just a smidge. But reading this sub the last 12 hours some of y'all need to step back and chill. Remember a few things.
  1. We're tied 2-2 against the #1 seed. That's hard to do! Y'all sitting here acting like the series is over. Like a brigade of Stephen A. Smiths after two Redbulls. JFC.
  2. Our franchise player Is. Not. Healthy. By a country mile. On top of finishing an 82-game season at the highest level of his craft, dude has to put up with a bad knee and ankle, to say nothing of the various bumps and bruises he's sustained through this series. Let's see you try to bulldoze Dort for a week and see how you feel.
3..Luka is still playing through it! Do you realize what this says about his commitment? We could have any of a dozen superstars in this league who show up in street clothes after the slightest bruise, but this kid is fighting his ass off. The Mavs are so lucky to have him and it's a privilege to watch the guy, not just for his skills but for his attitude and sportsmanship and commitment to his team (even if he does whine a bit much). So much has to go right (including health) to win a championship. And Luka is 25. What the hell were y'all doing at his age? The "Luka fat/sucks" shit I see here.is.infuriating above all. Guy had some bad games. He's hurt. It happens. Tough shit. He's trying and he hasn't quit on his team.
  1. Nobody expected us to get this far. We were dead in the water at the ASB heading for the lottery. But we have an excellent GM who nabbed TWO franchise contributors for essentially a bag of Skittles and half a Starbucks gift card. Nico is a top-5 GM in this league. It sucks rooting for a team with an inept front office. Hell, we could be the Hornets or Wizards right now.
  2. If the season ended today, the Mavs have proven they belong if nothing else. They are elite. They're competitive. They CAN win it all. We have likable (and good) players. This is a team worth investing time and energy into. That wasn't always the case.
Maybe it's just because I remember the shit teams from the Reunion Arena days, but there are so many terrific things about the Mavs now, and I for one am glad to see we have a team that is set up to be competitive and has a good shot at winning it all over the next five years if not this year. And hey! It's a best of 3 series now anyway, so we're still very much alive!
Don't get me wrong, this morning sucks. But holy hell, some of y'all need to touch some figurative grass. Damn.

2024.05.14 17:58 MattanaMinistry Mattana Ministry - Weekly Bible Study - 14 May 2024

Mattana Ministry Welcomes You To: Weekly Bible Study: 14 May 2024 Theme: Bible Basics Explained/Faith Scripture: Heb. 10:35-39 & Heb. 11:1-2 Message: God Exists
Faith may seem a small thing, but it can lead people to some extraordinary actions. Consider this story from Romania. The year was 1989, and the Communist government ruled. The Communism that ruled much of Eastern Europe in the 20th century was built on atheistic ideology and philosophy. Though the government allowed church, it kept a tight grip, and often jailed and tortured pastors and believers who defied their rule.
In the town of Timisoara, a local pastor named Tokes, who was teaching the Bible faithfully, was commanded to leave his home and church because he had criticized the government for human rights violations. On the day the police were to evict their pastor, local Christians surrounded the home to stop them. A crowd grew quickly, and the army was called in to stop them. Shots fired. Many wounded, many killed. But then something incredible occurred. The people didn’t fight back. Instead they knelt and prayed. Can we picture that? Prayer against bullets.
Yet the sight was too much for the soldiers. They refused to shoot any more. By this time, the whole town was there. Another pastor named Dugulescu climbed to the balcony of the local opera house and addressed the crowd. He recited something, only a few lines, and two simple words struck deep in the hearts of the people. They began chanting. Then shouting. Two words in defiance of oppression. Two words that cried out for freedom, equality, and dignity. Again and again, they shouted in unison: God exists.
We’ll come back to that story. For now, those same two words are at the very heart of this little thing called faith. So what is faith? Is it just another word for belief? I believe in God - so that’s faith. Right? Well, James reminds us that demons believe in God, and they tremble over that belief. So faith is more than that.
So what is it then? Is it an action of the heart or a conviction of the mind? Or maybe it’s just a feeling in our gut of what we know is true.
To find some answers, we’re turning to the book of Hebrews, and a chapter known as the Hall of Faith. Hebrews 11. The chapter reads like an Old Testament hall of heroes. It’s a highlight reel from every prophet and warrior who ever made it onto a Sunday School flannel board. If we grew up with Bible heroes, we’ll recognize these names. And even if we missed out on all that, there’s something about these heroes - something they all have in common. Many epic stories, countless grand adventures, one shared attribute. And it’s not just courage, or compassion, or integrity. All of those are beautiful and necessary. But this one, this one changes them all. Faith transforms all of our virtues because it gives them direction and purpose. It points everything about us back to God.
So what is faith? Hebrews 11 verse 1:
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is confidence. The Greek word here can also be translated substance. Faith gives substance to the things that we hope for. Hope is about the future anticipation of good things coming. But hope alone is ephemeral a dream with nothing tangible to grab hold of. It takes faith to give hope substance, and confidently grab ahold of it here in the present. And back in verse 1, faith is also assurance about what we do not see.
Now not seen is not the same as not real. The Greek words here carry a sense that means not yet seen. Just because we don’t see it yet doesn’t mean it isn’t real. That’s where hope comes in. Hebrews 6 calls hope an “anchor for our souls.” It keeps us grounded, stops us from drifting.
See hope without faith is just wishful thinking. Like a lottery ticket - I hope this one changes my life, but it probably won’t. But hope with faith is like a bus ticket. Sure, the road might be rough and my fellow passengers can occasionally get on my nerves, but my ticket says home, and I know that my bus driver will get me there.
And verse 2 tells us:
“This is what the ancients were commended for” (Hebrews 11:2). The ancients here refer to Old Testament heroes, and the rest of the chapter reminds us of their stories. Fantastic stories. But they’re not just here to tell a good story. This chapter was written to encourage us. Chapter 10 ended with a powerful call to stand strong to persevere in the face of trial. Back in 10:35,
“Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised”(Hebrews 10:35b-36). And chapter 10 ends with one essential Old Testament quote from Habakkuk:
“The righteous shall live by faith” (Hebrews 10:38). Remember, righteous means right with God. And in the Bible it’s the only way to Heaven. And Hebrews reminds us that when we’re right with God, faith is how we live. That short verse is quoted throughout the New Testament.

2024.05.14 17:58 throw-it-all-away-ok Who is entitled to female rage?

BIG ol’ disclaimer: Not a Swiftie.
I’ve been seeing a ton of discussion about this whole female rage: the musical bit and whether or not TS has earned her “right” to female rage, and for the most part I feel like the convo is missing the point. The true issue at hand is so much larger than just ‘famous lady shouldn’t be angry’.
Taylor has a right to rage. To be a woman is to rage. It is also to perform.
I came across this quote lately by John Berger and it had me thinking:
”Men act and women appear. Men look at women. Women watch themselves being looked at. This determines not only most relations between men and women but also the relation of women to themselves. The surveyor of woman in herself is male: the surveyed is female. Thus she turns herself into an object of vision: a sight.”
This is to say that women cannot escape the male influence. Even a woman who is ‘counter culture’ to the male gaze is perpetuating some form of male fantasy; there is nothing a woman can do to escape this perception- we are forever compared to it, and forever comparing each other.
This is the universal experience of women, and it does not improve with higher status or wealth or fame.
That being said, there is a HUGE problem with capitalizing on and commodifying female rage in a way that is “palatable” and sanitized. Femininity the way we think of it is already performance, so to take an element that is so real, so raw for all women and turn it into something performative and superficial is extremely damaging to the validity of the concept as a whole.
Furthermore, romanticizing female rage/ anguish because it comes from an attractive cis white woman is and has been a problem for generations and is further exacerbated by Swift. Why is it that white women suffering is romanticized in the media and POC suffering results in violence and death? There is a bias towards who is allowed to rage, and who isn’t. Taylor should be using her platform to uplift women who rarely get a voice to speak on this issue, but who are statistically impacted the most.
Taylor looks at female rage with zero nuance, and zero understanding of her subject material. Frankly, she comes at it from the perspective of a man.
She knows that female rage exists, she experiences it in her own way, but she has either not unpacked those ideas or she is too afraid to confront them socially for fear of being polarizing.
Maybe she is afraid of herself.

2024.05.14 17:56 bornagy OEM or Mazda branded battery?

My 7 years old model 3 (diesel skyactive 2.2) battery has to be replaced. Was checking with the dealership and they quoted me 500 for a branded piece while the seemingly equivalent bosh or varta for start- stop go for 200. Dealership says of course they would not recommend a noncertified option. What is the risk i am taking with the cheaper options?

2024.05.14 17:55 Lemon-Aid917 Jesus is not Michael

Most use 1 Thessalonians 4:16 that says that when Christ comes back he will descend with the voice of an Archangel, and they say that that means Jesus is therefore an Archangel, but the problem with this is that it doesn't really say what they say it's saying, but rather that the voice of an Archangel will be heard when Jesus comes back, just like it also says he will come with the trumpet of God. Jesus also has authority Michael doesn't, in Jude 9 says that when fighting with the devil the Archangel didn't dare to condemn him himself but rather said: "the Lord rebuke you", but the gospels talk about Jesus rebuking Satan (Mark 1:25, Luke 4:8, 35), meaning Jesus has the authority to judge and condemn while the Archangel Michael doesn't. The book of Hebrews itself discards the idea of Jesus being an angel, saying that the son of God is not and never was an angel (Hebrews 1:5-6, 13-14). Let's also not forget that Daniel 10:13 says Michael is one of the chief princes, while Jesus' is God's only begotten Son (John 3:16).

2024.05.14 17:54 _TheLastFartBender_ Jeweler acting weird: is this normal?

I was recently gifted a ring that I’ve decided to reset. It has a 2.8ct, K, VS1 natural diamond set in a platinum setting.
I was vacationing in India, and I thought why not do it here. Jewelry in general is a big part of the culture, there are many experienced, reputable jewelers, and I’d wanted to add some gemstones (sapphires) to the setting and I could see and pick them out for myself at these stores.
My aunt had a gold necklace that had a broken which she had given one of her trusted jewelers to fix. This was a brand-name place, established in late 1800s, blah blah blah. So she told me to come along, telling me that they are trustworthy and would do a quality job.
Here’s how it went.
We went in, she picked up the fixed necklace, exchanged pleasantries with one of the sales-people (who she had a long-standing relationship with). Then introduced me and I started talking. Showed them the ring, and the guy starts talking.
Him: [examining ring] What kind of stone is this?
Me: it’s a diamond.
Him: how many carats?
Me: uh, it’s 2.8 carats, and K, VS1.
Him: [turns it over in his and, continues to examine] How much was it? 10, 15? (I imagine he was asking in thousands, but I’m not sure)
Me: (mildly shocked but hiding it). I don’t know, it was a gift. (It was given to my mom by my dad, which she gifted to me after my civil wedding ceremony)
Him: [still examining the ring. Then whispemutters to two other sales people nearby] Bring the tester.
At this point I pick up my phone and pretend to be doing something on it. I was a bit taken aback and didn’t know what to do.
Salespeople bring one of those diamond tester things. Three salespeople crowd around the main dude, whos holding the ring. Main dude tests it. And then looks critically at it, not saying anything.
One of the sales people, whispering to main dude: Is it real?
Main dude slightly nods to him.
They continue crowding around him, looking at ring.
At this point I’m just calmly looking around, trying to not be awkward.
Main guy to me: is it certified?
Me: yes.
Him: do you have the certificate?
Me: no, it’s with my mom, but I can get it if you need.
Him: [silent for a while, and then] it should be inscribed on the stone right?
Me: yes I think so.
Him [nods]
At this point the others disperse, and we talk about the new setting I want, etc. I get a reasonable quote but I feel a little taken aback by the whole experience for some reason, so I tell them I’ll let them know, and me and my aunt leave.
After leaving, I don’t know. It felt so off. Like rude? I don’t know. I just remember feeling bad. My aunt could see I was a little quiet and told me that’s just how business is done in India, people are more blunt, and it’s becuase I’ve been away so long that I’m not used to it. But I don’t know. Is this normal?
I just felt kind offended? Or upset?

2024.05.14 17:54 antipheonix Suggestion about Mainstream debates

On destiny's weekend stream he brought up that he's sad the mainstream talks are going the way he anticipated where it's sterile and talking points VS talking points. As most things in destiny's work from what I've seen I feel that if destiny wants to avoid this, he has to create the change himself.
In the myron/breaking points/ j6 insurrection debates, the moderators were clearly in the opposite camp, and lex is generally sterile. I'm not saying these people are bad moderators or unfair, but the talks are never structured in the way destiny would like and I think he either should request moderators himself who discuss before hand how/what he wants to talk about. I know and I respect that destiny has this quality of he will show up and fight any battle any way, but I think it would help if he tried to get more of what he wants prior and I think losing a little bit of the quality won't harm in any way.
In the long term, I think destiny has to host debates himself in the way he wants and show how he thinks debates should be. An idea could be like a bridges special called "burning bridges" where NSE or someone is a moderator for a debate. I think making it special in studio and in the structure destiny would like would be helpful as a piece of content and add importance/differentiate from the casual off the cuff stream debates. I know the big issue would be getting big names on but would love to see a start with things like Robb noerr, maybe pisco, maybe people like Adam from soscast,SJW.
Obviously I'm asking for another show and what I want, just the ideas that came to mind from seeing these debates.

2024.05.14 17:53 rkila Drake's Mother I Angle vs Kendrick's Deadbeat Dad Angle and why the latter works

So I wanna compare how Drake attacked Kendrick using the molestation angle on Mother I Sober vs Kendrick's attack on Drake's deadbeat-ness and why the latter works
In a diss track, I believe the main objective is to make the other person look stupid, but in a specific way, not just any type of way.
Drake's angle of making Kendrick look stupid through pointing out that Kendrick got molested as a kid (and yes I'm going to pretend that Mother I Sober doesn't debunk that to give Drake some fighting chance) as a reason for why Kendrick is obsessive over hating and hunting down a pedophile doesn't work because:
  1. Drake apparently don't like people that dislikes pedophiles???
  2. The specific way of making the other person look stupid in a diss track is to point out the other persons stupid actions. Why is Kendrick stupid for being molested? Its not by his choice
Kendrick's angle of making Drake look stupid through pointing out Drake's deadbeat-ness works because Kendrick looked at it through the same angle Pusha T did, by comparing Denis's deadbeat-ness and saying that is the reason why Drake is also a deadbeat.
  1. Since Drake got firsthand experience as a deadbeat victim, why wouldn't he try to be better than his father? Why didn't he want to accept Adonis?
  2. Kendrick is ridiculing Drake's inaction as a father and connecting it to how Denis is a deadbeat to him, when Drake could've broke the "curse"
In conclusion, Drake doesn't like Kendrick for trying to better the world by hunting pedophiles whilst Kendrick doesn't like Drake because he could've been a better father than Denis ever was. And that is why the Mother I angle is fundamentally dumb.

2024.05.14 17:53 leifsprout Should I break up with my boyfriend after finding out he has a secret IG account where he likes sexy pictures and j*rks off to them

TL;DR my boyfriend likes and masturbates to other girls sexy pictures on his secret IG account since he doesn’t get sexually turned on by me anymore after moving in together
I (27F) just found out my boyfriend (24M) has a secret instagram account where he likes other girl’s pictures on. And they’re not even OF models or celebrities, just regular accounts of girls who posts sexy pictures and thirst traps. I feel so betrayed and disrespected. He even hid the instagram app on his phone so it wont appear on his homescreen to ensure I wouldn’t see that he even has it installed.
For context, I looked through everything on the account and he wasn’t following anyone or had any followers at all. There were also no chats, no comments. There were only likes and the most recent one was a 44 week old post. I would say in total there would have been around 30 liked posts of girls either in bikinis or revealing outfits. Looked through the account and log in history and I was able to sum up that he recently just installed it again yesterday and previous to that he used it around 7 weeks ago. I also saw that he created the account September 2023 which would have been around the time we first moved in together but when I confronted him about it he said he’s had the account even before we were together and just recently reactivated it at that time which I don’t even know if it’s true because I don’t use instagram but that was the very first account history I saw that it was created last year.
We’ve been together 3 years now and been living together since September. I work in a call center and moved to a new city last year in July which was also the time he graduated and he visited me here before visiting his grandma and cousins and he stayed there for a month because he also wanted to enjoy his free time first before thinking about finding work.
I’ve always wanted us to live together because I hated needing to go home separately after spending the day together. We weren’t at the situation where we could do it because he was still in school and relying on his parents and I also was still living with my family. I would have moved out much earlier but I didn’t wanna be far away from him and it would have been a very long discussion with my family if I were to move out but still be in the same town (I’m asian) since it was also a fairly small town. I didn’t plan on getting a job from a different city right at the time he graduated. I actually quit my previous job earlier that year and it was just the best option I had during that time even though it did require me to be far away from him but I also really wanted to move away and just be independent. And in my head it all fell into place because I though he could just stay with me after his vacation and find a job in the same city. He was at a place in his life where he’s still trying to figure out what he wants to do and he still is. It also doesn’t help that he’s not sure if he wants to pursue a career with his degree. He was just really lost and he told me he wanted to start earning already because he wanted to help his family. So I told him he can try working in a call center for the meantime because where were from it’s basically the only job you can get that isn’t that picky with your educational background and doesn’t require any previous experience. The pay is also significantly higher than what he would get compared to an entry level position in other jobs. He wasn’t that thrilled because it would require a lot of talking and he’s the type to get stressed easily but I told him to just try it because I know it would give him some sense of accomplishment and would also boost his confidence and take some of his shyness away. Honestly I wanted him to get out of his bubble because I know it would help him in the long run. We’ve recently been having some fights these last few months because I noticed he kept getting short with me and was not that affectionate anymore and he wasn’t like that before. He said he’s just really stressed at work and sometimes when he comes home he just wants some alone time but he can’t because I’m always clinging onto him. But we’ve resolved that and compromised. I promised to check myself and not depend on him for everything and he promised he’ll be more attentive. It’s just that I’m also stressed from work and I tend to cling onto him because that’s where I find comfort but I understand that he also needs his alone time. And it’s been working we’ve actually been fine these past few weeks, he’s been more affectionate and I’ve been giving him space. But it all crumbled this morning when I saw his secret instagram. And it doesn’t help that our sex life ever since we moved in together had really took a turn. We used to have sex daily when we first started dating and at least 3-4 times a week over the years. But after we moved in it went from once a week to only once a month now. I admit that even my sex drive dwindled down because I have no energy after work and just wanna cuddle. It did make me a bit insecure that he wasn’t all that touchy anymore compared to before but I didn’t wanna make it an issue because I know I was feeling the same way although we were still affectionate like kissing, cuddles and hugging just no sexual advances. But I at least try to initiate sometimes not because I want to but because I feel like we need to be intimate at least especially if it’s been too long. And yeah maybe for some validation on my part that he still finds me attractive. When I confronted him about the secret account and the liking sexy pictures stuff he said it’s because he doesn’t really feel sexually turned on by me anymore because we’re together all the time and he needs to miss me a little for him to feel that way just like before. I did notice that whenever he leaves and visits his mom on his day off and when he comes back he initiates sexy time because he missed me even though he was only gone 2 days. He also said we moved in way too fast and he wasn’t ready yet but he did it for me because I wanted to. Essentially blaming me and making it out that I forced him because if he didn’t agree I would have been sad. And yeah he’s right I would have been sad and hurt but after that initial reaction I still would have understood. It’s not like I’m forcing him to stay although that’s how he feels just because whenever the topic of him leaving at some point makes me sad. I’m not emotionally blackmailing him but I can’t help it if that’s how I really feel and again I wouldn’t stop him when that time comes but of course I would still be sad. I knew he was gonna leave when he saved up enough and had time to figure out what he wants to pursue so I always knew it was coming. Part of me did want him here with me but it wasn’t just for that sole reason. I wanted to help him start somewhere earning money because he also said he didn’t wanna be a burden to his mom anymore like adding to the expenses when he could be helping. He said he feels trapped like he can’t leave because I wouldn’t approve or it’s not what I want even though I’ve never once said that I wouldn’t allow him to but for some reason that’s what he gets from my emotions as if I’m not allowed to feel sad about it. Going back to his secret account thing so he says it’s his way of fulfilling his needs since he’s not able to get it from me since he’s not turned on by me anymore. He wasn’t even defending himself and making excuses about it because he knew it was wrong. He even said that although he would never cheat on me with an actual person but there’s still no excuse with what he’s doing which is jerking off to pictures because he said it’s still somewhat cheating. I just can’t understand why he needs to resort to that when he could have just told me and we could have tried to work something out. When I told him that he said it’s because he knows I would have been emotional and hurt if I knew that’s how he felt that’s why he hid it from me in the first place. But it’s just so much worse finding out this way. I don’t know if it’s just me but if it were porn videos it wouldn’t have been an issue. It just really hits all my insecurities that he’s liking pictures of just regular girls wearing sexy clothes. And not even sl*tty outfits. Literally just regular clothes but revealing and posing in a sexy way. He always assures me that he still finds me beautiful no matter how I look after a stressful day but after what I just found out and him not sexually attracted to me anymore I just don’t know what to believe. Am I crazy that even after all that I still don’t wanna leave him? When I confronted him he was the one who was even telling me to fully realize what is happening and to not make excuses for what he did because that’s what I was doing. He wasn’t even defending himself and said I deserved a better guy who wants the same things I do. He said he still loves me but he feels stressed and trapped with our current situation and that I should stop being in denial and making excuses for what he did like I need to have some boundaries for myself and not be blinded by how much I love him. I’m just so confused and even after typing all this out I don’t know why I can’t let go

2024.05.14 17:52 MAQS357 Is it a guilty pleasure if I consider the game good?

So, context, I have finished something like 100 games, and of those I have never replayed one right after finishing it, I usually wait years to replay them, except for 3 games.
Kotor 2, Enderal and the more recent being FFXVI.
Both K2 and Enderal are in my top 3 favorite games of all time, I consider them great games and execute what I like the most in games well which is the story.
FFXVI however, It would not be in my top 10, or even top 20 maybe, there are too many flaws in the story for me to regard it as more than just good overall, but the game is not even a year old and I have already played 3 times to completion and im in the middle of a fourth one with all the dlcs that just released, and Im still having a great time playing this game, I enjoy playing it, and want to play it even more that me all time favorite games.
The reason why the game is so addicting to me is essentially, the story is good enough, and is the type of story I enjoy most, a long but complete and mostly cohesive story about war suffering, with a dash of politics, and grand scale, with a clear Ending that introduced a world and went to the proper end of the world itself by the time credits rolled. this is pretty much most FF games though, is just that XVI hooked me with its take while others did not
Again the story was good enough for the other stuff to shine, like the worldbuilding is excellent, I love the easthetic and art style, I love that is a grounded fantasy story but at the same time it can go crazy and of the wall with its Eikons fights, the music speaks to me a lot and is one of the parts o the game I think is truly great.
I can say that if the plot holes, contrivances and just dumb stuff were removed, which is not that hard really, that would be enough for the game to easily be in my top 10 maybe even top 5.
But I wonder, is it a guilty pleasure of mine? or guilty pleasure is reserved for games that are bad but I happen to enjoy?

2024.05.14 17:52 General_Noise_4430 Anyone else notice in the later seasons they always seem to be yelling at each other?

In almost every conversation the liars are yelling, snapping back, cutting each other off, being mean etc. I just went back to start season 1 after watching season 7, and it’s crazy how much more relaxed and natural the conversations are. I’d say by season 4-5 or so it feels like they hate each other and they aren’t friends, they are constantly fighting and yelling.

2024.05.14 17:52 HJAC The Legend of Korra could benefit from a live action remake to fix issues with story, pacing, and plot that prevented it from surpassing its predecessor

Last night I finished the TLOK series. I didn't know anything about the shows weaknesses going into Book One. That first season made me feel so excited for the remainder of the story! It explored interesting themes in a beautiful setting, asked thoughtful questions, and introduced a compelling villain whose motive made a ton of sense and was a perfect antagonist to the Avatar. Amon was so compelling, I found myself actually rooting for him sometimes!
However, I was dissatisfied with how the writers chose to wrap up Book One. This could be an entire conversation unto itself, but to put it simply, I felt that Book One was building up to a moment that said "Hey, the bad guy is actually mostly right. Maybe the correct solution to this conflict is a third option that the two sides had not considered before." I was hoping the climactic battle / action sequence would be something like Batman vs Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, wherein victory in the fist fight was actually a victory in buying time for the people of Gotham to prove their humanity. But instead of a battle over the soul of the city, Amon's 3-dimensional character was flattened into a 2D caricature through exposition: he doesn't really have a grounded philosophy worth exploring, he's just another water-bending baddie with daddy issues!
Similar build up and disappointment played out in each season. And after reading discussions on this subreddit, I can see how a lot of that was due to production issues with Nickelodeon. Not knowing if the show was going to be renewed each season didn't help. And, frankly, I think creating a follow-up to the gold standard of western animated television introduces challenges both internally (writers feeling they need to one-up the size and ambition of the story at the risk of making the show bloated) and externally (viewers always comparing TLOK to ATLA).
Remaking ATLA is nice but unnecessary. I feel bad saying this because, like a lot of you, I've seen how fun all the actors are off-screen and really feel they deserve better. Ultimately, there isn't much that needed to change about the animated series, so the odds of NATLA being worth watching was always going to be a longshot.
Remaking TLOK, on the other hand... I see a lot of potential for a remake to improve upon the original. Unlike for ATLA, condensing the story and characters would actually be a good thing! Fewer characters; only 2-3 side stories; a main villain arc that threads the entire series together; a live action Korra is really fun to imagine!

2024.05.14 17:52 KanimalZ High School Career Project!

Yellow y’all, I am a Junior in High School currently in a program my public school has where they send us to another school to take a class. I am taking the Veterinary Science Class and we have been working on a project for a bit now. It is a career project were we research a career we are interested in. There are 2 parts to the project. The first part is the research portion. We research what education we need and were we can go to get it to reach our career goal as well as information about the career relating to what it requires, does it involve travel, how laborious is it, what is needed for it, what are the patient relationships like, what is the social aspect like, the requirements for the career, etc. This is the easier portion for me, but the harder portion I have found is the second part. For the second portion is a grade by itself and contributes to the first parts grade. (Both summative grades) What is required for this second portion is we must find someone who works in the field and contact them about interviewing them on their experiences in the field. (What it has been like for them, what I should know about it, and any tips, tricks, or forewarnings I should know) I had ended up finding a farrier in the area that seemed nice and who is exspeinced and licensed. I had emailed them emailed them explaining who I am, the project I was doing this for, and where I go to school with the class the project was for. I covered everything my teacher had told everyone in the class to do. She had given us a template to use and base our emails off of and I did while changing it up a little bit to be friendly, but keeping the main necessary content in it. I singed off at the bottom of the email with my name again, my email that was used to send this email, and my phone number if she would prefer to use that instead. After about 2 - 3 weeks with no response I sent a follow up email that my teacher also gave us a template for. The email templates we had were made in class as a class. It was part of the creative/business aspect in the project. After about 10 days with no response I was ready to tell my teacher about the situation and ask what to do when I finally got my first and, spoiler alert, only response. She explained that she was traveling and didn’t check her email in that amount of time. She said that she was now trying to ketchup on her email now. In her email to me she said and I quote “Are you interested in learning about traditional horse shoeing? I am a natural hoofcare provider with my focus being barefoot trims. I only have a handful of horses in composite type shoes that I strictly glue on. I do not use nails or work with metal shoes so I am not sure I’d be the best fit if you are planning to attend a horseshoeing school. I can recommend other traditional farriers locally to shadow if that is the direction you may want to pursue. However, if you are interested in a natural barefoot approach then I am happy to chat with you and have you join for shadowing.” End quote. I showed my teacher the email the next day looking for advice as to how I should respond. My teacher said to continue to try and make plans for an interview and potential job shadow that she seemed interested in taking on. My teacher also told me to try and get the other recommendations as well. I then replied to her email saying how I would be happy to learn from her and job shadow with her or at the very least do an interview with her. I also then said how my teacher suggested I ask if I could have the other farrier recommendations. After that I mentioned again how much it would mean to me if she gave me the chance and for her to have a wonderful night. That’s was sent march 17th. Still no reply. After a bit of waiting for a response I tried calling her because in her email she left her number. It went to voicemail so I left a voicemail message saying who I am, my number, project information from my first email, and that I am still interested in the interview and at least a job shadow. I haven’t received a return call or any missed calls. In her voicemail she said if she isn’t able to get back to you within a few days to message her through text, so I did. I was then left on read for about a week until I asked my teacher what to do. She suggested I ask if I can at least interview her over the phone or have her just send me a message of answer to my questions. So that is what I asked her sending the same message through both text and email. I also provided her with example questions that I would be asking in the message. I have been since left on read with no reply. I am now turning to searching for someone new on here to help me. I just need someone to answer a few questions on their experience being a farrier. It would mean so much to me if someone could help me here. I understand everyone here has their own lives and must be busy with such, but this assignment is due may 22nd and today is may 14. I only have 8 days left for this second portion and I hope y’all understand. Sorry this came out to be so long. Please, have a wonderful rest of your day and my email is katelynnzannoni99@gmail.com if anyone can help. Thank you.
