(This has all been going on for about 3-4 years? Maybe a bit longer? It gets worse at certain times) (my grandad has also recently died and the family’s been arguing over everything which has caused things to worsen)
Most of the time I just feel sort of numb? I have times where I’m doing something and enjoying it and actually happy (like when I’m talking to my bff, when I went to the arcade, playing games, etc) but then when it stops I’m just in that state of numbness again? It’s not exactly sadness, but it’s definitely not happiness.
Sometimes I get moments where I feel like I’m not actually real? (I think it’s dissociating) the best way to describe it is like I’m in a first person video game, or just feeling like I’m on auto pilot. Or when I’ll look in the mirror and my face doesn’t look like how it should.
I get annoyed at small things very easily, if there’s a slight change in my routine that I can’t control (for instance when the thing I eat for breakfast every single morning runs out and I didn’t realise) I’ll start crying out of frustration. Repetitive noises I can’t stop set me off as well (the neighbours kids banging on the wall/the neighbours shouting, my dog whining, the sound of electricity)
When my bff doesn’t answer her phone and my brain automatically things she’s ignoring me and then I get annoyed with myself and end up apologising even though I did nothing wrong, and then I end up being annoyed at her? I feel super bad about it when she reassures me that she just didn’t have her phone and wasn’t ignoring me but then I still end up thinking that she secretly hates me even though I know it’s not true.
It’s worth noting that I have pretty bad anxiety, I hate loud noises or when there’s to many people around, it overwhelms me and sends me into panic attacks which then causes me to hit myself to try and distract me. I’m also nonbinary/trans and my gender dysphoria has been making things considerably worse (I don’t have any binders/trans tape so I can’t even make it better).
I share many traits with my bff who is autistic and both her and my mum has said that they think I could be on the spectrum as well which might be part of the issue? I’m not quite sure.
I was just wondering if anyone’s been in a similar boat and has any words of wisdom? Or if anyone knows how I can approach my mother about this?

For the ppl that complained here about adc top lane, besides the usual counters such as malphite, pantheon, etc, Wukong is also a good alternative. His passive gives him a ton of armor from lvl 1, his Q does ridiculous dmg and with good range, and lvl 2 he already has access to a gap closer ability that also does decent dmg. And lvl3 onwards you're basically set, good dmg and engage and a nice disengage with W. The least fun part about adc top lane is the fact that you have to basically give up lane for the first lvls but with Wukong you don't have to do that, you can actually trade from lvl 1, I have been cheesing the lane bushes everytime and it has been working very well, from trading with Q and auto attacks + armor from passive I won against even a draven so I don't think there's any adc that survives an all in from lvl1 if you manage to cheese a bush. The downside is if you die you're useless for the rest of the game, but that's on you

After seeing the new exotic previews, I felt that bungie might need a set of ideas for actually designing exotic armors, or even just to buff a bunch of the older ones.
You'll never guess which class I main.
First up is Titans
Mask of the Quiet One - Dreaded Visage: Being critically wounded creates an improved Overshield(50 hp in PvP/150 hp in PvE). Defeating combatants feeds into your Overshield and regenerates it. While Bastion is equipped, defeating enemies with Void damage refunds your Class ability(10% per kill).
Khepri's Horn - Solar Rampart: Grants two Melee Charges. Ignition kills grant additional Super energy(5% more), and kills with your Consecration refund full melee energy.
Helm of Saint-14 - Starless Night: You and your allies can shoot through your Ward of Dawn.
Cadmus Ridge Lancecap - Lancer's Vigil: While using a Stasis subclass and behind your rally barricade, rapid precision hits and combatant final blows with a Stasis weapon creates a Diamond Lance near you. Diamond Lance does significantly increased damage against majors and bosses(200% damage increase).
No Backup Plans - Force Multiplier: Shotguns deal increased damage(5% PvP/20% PvE) while this exotic is equipped. Kills with shotguns grant stacking damage resistance(10%/20% per kill in PvE), stacking up to 3 times for 15 seconds. While at max stacks, combatants will be less accurate when targeting you(similar to the Always on Time Sparrow). Finishers while you have Armor Charge grant ammo to your Shotgun(5% reserves per charge).
Actium War Rig Auto-Loading Sink: Steadily reloads a portion of your equipped Auto Rifle's or Machine Gun's magazine from reserves. Rapid combatant kills(3) refund Machine Gun ammunition(10% of magazine) and grant Auto Rifles increased damage(20%) for 10 seconds. Auto Rifles and Machine Guns stun Overload Champions.
Mk. 44 Stand Asides Seriously, Watch Out: Increases Sprint Speed. Sprinting regenerates health(equivalent to the speed of 70 Recovery). Sprinting while Amplified rapidly regenerates health(equivalent to Restoration 2x) and creates an aura of Arc static around you(around 10 meters). Enemies within this static are Blinded for 8 seconds.
Next is Hunters
Wormhusk Crown Burning Souls: Dodging grants Restoration 1x for 5 seconds. Kills against Scorched, Jolted or Blinded, Weakened, Slowed or Frozen, or Unraveled targets grant significantly increased Class Ability regeneration(200% PvP / 400% PvE) for 3 seconds.
Blight Ranger Voltaic Flow: Amplified grants damage resistance(10% PvP / 20% PvE). Speedbooster lingers for the remaining duration of Amplified. Additionally while Amplified, periodically restores a small amount of health and shields.
Sealed Ahamkara's Grasps Nightmare Fuel: Your Melee becomes a release of raw energy which inflicts a debuff according to your equipped subclass(Scorch/Blind/Weaken/Unravel/Slow) and overpenetrates targets. Gain a second melee charge. Kills with this melee ability refund melee energy. (Think of this like the Hunter's version of Flechette Storm)
Khepri's Sting Touch of Venom: Gain increased sprint speed and jump height while Invisible. Additionally while invisible, enemies become finishable for you at 50% health. Finisher final blows spawn a smoke bomb at your feet, which grants Invisibility to you and nearby allies.
Gwisin Vest Roving Assassin: Finisher Final blows decrease the cooldown of your Super(grants 10% Super energy per finisher). Spectral Blades Light Attack damage against Champions, Bosses, Mini-Bosses, and Tormentors increased drastically(500% increase), kills with Spectral Blades extends the duration of Spectral Blades, and entering Stealth does not consume additional Super Energy.
Raiju's Harness Mobius Conduit: Hold your Super button to activate a Super Amplified. While Amplified in this way you deal significantly increased Arc Damage(75% increase damage from all sources) and gain increased damage resistance(75%), for the duration instead of using your Arc Staff.
Bombardiers Parting Gift: Activating your Dodge ability grants a specific effect depending on your equipped subclass. Arc spawns a Web Mine(see the Arach-No modifier) which blinds enemies after it detonates. Solar spawns an improved Swarm Grenade(spawns ~30 seekers). Void spawns an improved Smoke Bomb(spreads Suppression cloud across 10 meters). Stasis spawns an improved Duskfield(think Renewal Grasps radius). Strand spawns 4 Threadlings, which unravel targets.
Last but certainly not least is Warlocks
Skull of Dire Ahamkara Actual Granduer: Void Grenade kills decrease the cooldown of your Super(2.5%-5% on kill). Nova Bomb kills grant Super energy(10% per kill up to 50%). Vortex Nova Bomb has increased duration(+7 seconds) and deals increased damage against Bosses(25%). Cataclysmic Nova Bomb spawns additional seekers on detonation, and deals increased damage to Champions, Mini-Bosses and Tormentors(40%).
Apotheosis Veil Insatiable: Casting your Super grants nearby allies 500% Melee and Grenade ability energy for 10 seconds. When nearby allies cast their Supers, you gain this benefit. Casting your super automatically generates 3 large Orbs of Light at your feet.
Getaway Artist Dynamic Duo: Convert your Arc Grenade into a Sentient Arc Soul and become Amplified. Your Arc Soul duration is tied to Amplified. Additionally, while Amplified the number of Arc Souls you can have active increases to 3. Additionally, your Arc Souls Blind combatants.
Nothing Manacles Scatter Charge: Gain an additional Scatter Grenade charge. Your Scatter Grenades deal significantly increased damage to Champions, Bosses, Mini-Bosses, and Tormentors(400%), and have more seekers.
Vesper of Radius Planetary Torrent: Your rift blinds enemies in a large radius surrounding it(14 meters PvE / 7 meters in PvP). While standing in your rift, successive arc damage Jolts targets. While your Super is full, Rifts you create last for 1 minute.
Sanguine Alchemy Blood Magic: Hold to drain some of your own health over time in order to overcharge your grenade, melee, rift or super(Drains 20% health per 1 seconds). The damage or duration of the ability increases depending on how much health of yours is drained(20% health drain = 25% more damage, up to 100% increased damage - or double damage). Kills with overcharged abilities restores you to full health.
Geomag Stabilizers Close Enough: Converts your Chaos Reach into a single, shortened blast which deals its maximum damage over 2 seconds. Deal drastically increased Arc damage to enemies within 10 meters of you(80%).

tl;dr no good on olaf and jayce, very good on corki and riven
first explanation on how it works, after casting your ultimate for the next 10 seconds your basic abilities cooldown timer is sped up by 25%. that means if your Q cooldown is 10 seconds visually it will still says 10 seconds but the actual cooldown is 7.5 seconds.
this means that you only gain the total 25% cooldown reduction (2.5 seconds for a 10 seconds cooldown ability) if you waited the entire cooldown duration.
this sounds complicated and doesnt really means anything to majority of champion EXCEPT olaf. because he reduces his E cooldown by 1 seconds per auto attack the spear of shojin passive is basically wasted on him because he gains less cdr as he continues to auto attack to the point that it isnt even noticeable.
next is an unspecified interaction between the passive and champions that can cast ultimate multiple times. if you recast your ultimate, it will refreshes the spear of shojin passive duration back to 10 seconds. the best abuser for this interaction is corki. he can permanently keep the 25% cdr as long as he have a stack of rocket ready to cast every 10 seconds which is very much plausible later on in the game.
and 1 more interaction or lack thereof is with champion that have form swap ultimate, like jayce, his ultimate doesnt proc spear of shojin at all. its basically a waste of gold to buy it on him.

2024.05.15 15:52 RainInMyBr4in The bizarre case of Peter Bergmann
On Friday the 12th of June 2009, a man was spotted boarding a bus bound for Sligo from Derry/Londonderry in Northern Ireland. He was carrying a black shoulder bag and a generic luggage bag and just seemed like a normal tourist. He arrived in Sligo at approximately 6:30pm and took a taxi to the city hotel where he paid per night in cash for 3 nights. Upon checking in, he provided staff with the name 'Peter Bergmann' and an address that was something to the effect of "Ainstettersn 15, 4472, Vienna, Austria". Hotel staff stated he seemed of Germanic descent and spoke English with a thick German accent. He was a heavy smoker and was seen on CCTV leaving the hotel repeatedly to stand outside with a cigarette.
Throughout the course of his 3 night stay, he was captured leaving the hotel approximately 13 times, each time leaving with a purple plastic bag filled with unknown items and returning with no visible bag or items. Garda believe he was disposing of his personal belongings around Sligo but have never been able to locate any of the items he discarded. They stated that he had used the blind spots of cameras around the town to hide his movements and described his actions as "meticulous and methodical, as though he knew exactly how to dispose of anything that could identify him". A hotel worker stated that they had attempted to clean his room on one of the days but couldn't get a response after knocking. Upon entering, he appeared spooked and was described as "behaving like I'd caught him in the middle of doing something he shouldn't"
On Saturday the 13th, he was seen walking to Sligo post office where he purchased 8 stamps and airmail stickers at approximately 10:49am. The following day, Sunday 14th, he left the hotel at around 11-11:30am and asked a taxi driver for recommendations on a good beach that he could go swimming at. The driver suggested Rosses point and drove him there. It was reported that when the taxi arrived at the beach, Bergmann got out of the car, stood and stared for a short time before returning to the taxi, appearing content or satisfied.
He checked out of the hotel on Monday 15th at around 1pm and headed towards quayside shopping centre where he was seen standing awkwardly in the doorway for several minutes. Strangely, he was seen leaving the hotel with his black shoulder bag and purple plastic bag but an entirely different luggage bag. It is unclear where his original one went or where the new one came from. He was seen leaving quayside and walking towards the bus station at around 1:16pm. By the time he reached the bus station, he only had 2 of the 3 bags he was seen leaving the hotel with. At approximately 1:38pm, he ordered a ham and cheese toastie and a cappuccino from the bus station café. While he ate, he was recorded opening and closing a scrap of paper repeatedly before eventually ripping it up and disposing of it in a nearby bin. It was never recovered. At around 2:20pm he boarded a bus heading to Rosses point. It is believed that he was seen by 16-18 people on the beach that day over an 8 hour period. He was described as 'restless or anxious', pacing up and down the length of the beach repeatedly. It isn't known where his luggage or bags were at this point. He was last seen walking along the beach, alone, at 11:50pm.
His body was discovered the next morning at around 6:45am by a father and son who were out practicing for a triathlon. He was wearing purple Speedo trunks with his underwear over the top and a navy t-shirt tucked into them. Some of his clothes and belongings were found on the shore but it does not appear that his luggage or shoulder bag were ever recovered. The autopsy report concluded that he had died from cardiac arrest but that he had not drowned, despite being washed up. There were no signs of foul play either. Surprisingly, the autopsy also revealed that he had advanced stage prostate cancer, multiple bone tumours and ischaemic heart disease. There were absolutely no drugs in his system either, which would be expected of someone who was this sick. The medical examiner stated that due to these conditions, he would have been in significant and constant pain and would have required, at the very least, over the counter painkillers.
A five month investigation was launched but it was quickly revealed that both the name 'Peter Bergmann' and the address in Austria were fake. Nobody matching his appearance and name was missing anywhere in Europe, America or anywhere else and despite extensive investigation, the trail quickly went cold. He was eventually buried in an unmarked grave in Sligo. As of today, he has never been identified and nobody has ever come forward to state that they knew him. Even now, almost 15 years later, his case has left more questions than answers such as:
How did he enter Ireland?
There are absolutely no flight or ferry records with anyone using his alias and there was never any passports used with his image. It's as though he just appeared in the country.
Was cardiac arrest his intended death?
It's widely accepted that he was an old man who was terminally ill and wanted to go out on his own terms. However, did he intend to be found on the beach or was he hoping to drown and his body swept out to sea? His heart was damaged and showed signs of previous heart attacks. In addition, his health was very poor and the water in Sligo, at that time, was very cold. It's not at all impossible to believe that cold water shock induced cardiac arrest before he could wade out.
Why did he go to such extreme lengths to completely hide his identity?
Wanting to end things on your own terms isn't an uncommon notion but choosing to destroy every trace of your existence before doing so is and hasn't been explained. Why was he so adamant that nobody ever knew who he was or where he came from?

Throughout the course of his 3 night stay, he was captured leaving the hotel approximately 13 times, each time leaving with a purple plastic bag filled with unknown items and returning with no visible bag or items. Garda believe he was disposing of his personal belongings around Sligo but have never been able to locate any of the items he discarded. They stated that he had used the blind spots of cameras around the town to hide his movements and described his actions as "meticulous and methodical, as though he knew exactly how to dispose of anything that could identify him". A hotel worker stated that they had attempted to clean his room on one of the days but couldn't get a response after knocking. Upon entering, he appeared spooked and was described as "behaving like I'd caught him in the middle of doing something he shouldn't"
On Saturday the 13th, he was seen walking to Sligo post office where he purchased 8 stamps and airmail stickers at approximately 10:49am. The following day, Sunday 14th, he left the hotel at around 11-11:30am and asked a taxi driver for recommendations on a good beach that he could go swimming at. The driver suggested Rosses point and drove him there. It was reported that when the taxi arrived at the beach, Bergmann got out of the car, stood and stared for a short time before returning to the taxi, appearing content or satisfied.
He checked out of the hotel on Monday 15th at around 1pm and headed towards quayside shopping centre where he was seen standing awkwardly in the doorway for several minutes. Strangely, he was seen leaving the hotel with his black shoulder bag and purple plastic bag but an entirely different luggage bag. It is unclear where his original one went or where the new one came from. He was seen leaving quayside and walking towards the bus station at around 1:16pm. By the time he reached the bus station, he only had 2 of the 3 bags he was seen leaving the hotel with. At approximately 1:38pm, he ordered a ham and cheese toastie and a cappuccino from the bus station café. While he ate, he was recorded opening and closing a scrap of paper repeatedly before eventually ripping it up and disposing of it in a nearby bin. It was never recovered. At around 2:20pm he boarded a bus heading to Rosses point. It is believed that he was seen by 16-18 people on the beach that day over an 8 hour period. He was described as 'restless or anxious', pacing up and down the length of the beach repeatedly. It isn't known where his luggage or bags were at this point. He was last seen walking along the beach, alone, at 11:50pm.
His body was discovered the next morning at around 6:45am by a father and son who were out practicing for a triathlon. He was wearing purple Speedo trunks with his underwear over the top and a navy t-shirt tucked into them. Some of his clothes and belongings were found on the shore but it does not appear that his luggage or shoulder bag were ever recovered. The autopsy report concluded that he had died from cardiac arrest but that he had not drowned, despite being washed up. There were no signs of foul play either. Surprisingly, the autopsy also revealed that he had advanced stage prostate cancer, multiple bone tumours and ischaemic heart disease. There were absolutely no drugs in his system either, which would be expected of someone who was this sick. The medical examiner stated that due to these conditions, he would have been in significant and constant pain and would have required, at the very least, over the counter painkillers.
A five month investigation was launched but it was quickly revealed that both the name 'Peter Bergmann' and the address in Austria were fake. Nobody matching his appearance and name was missing anywhere in Europe, America or anywhere else and despite extensive investigation, the trail quickly went cold. He was eventually buried in an unmarked grave in Sligo. As of today, he has never been identified and nobody has ever come forward to state that they knew him. Even now, almost 15 years later, his case has left more questions than answers such as:
How did he enter Ireland?
There are absolutely no flight or ferry records with anyone using his alias and there was never any passports used with his image. It's as though he just appeared in the country.
Was cardiac arrest his intended death?
It's widely accepted that he was an old man who was terminally ill and wanted to go out on his own terms. However, did he intend to be found on the beach or was he hoping to drown and his body swept out to sea? His heart was damaged and showed signs of previous heart attacks. In addition, his health was very poor and the water in Sligo, at that time, was very cold. It's not at all impossible to believe that cold water shock induced cardiac arrest before he could wade out.
Why did he go to such extreme lengths to completely hide his identity?
Wanting to end things on your own terms isn't an uncommon notion but choosing to destroy every trace of your existence before doing so is and hasn't been explained. Why was he so adamant that nobody ever knew who he was or where he came from?

Yes. I just beaten conundrum 12 using company dice 'capitalist' cheese using Acheron on Erudition path. I also have used kafka black swan nihility. gepard march using preservation. and jingliu pela on rememberance path.
This game mode is just bad. Its take too long of a time. A boss can one shot in single attack. In fact they often are going to. And you must restart from tile zero when you die. Practically wasting one hour of your free time.
You must actively try to break the game. Like rememberance or preservation path cheese. Its very unbalance. Either you have shielder (good luck in a gacha game) and live the cheap one shot attack or you kill the boss faster than they can act in action bar by using either absurd amount of dmg or using stupid op blessings.
RNG feels really bad. Tiles are randomized and having good walking path is very seldom. Countdown is unnecesaary stress. Blessing and curios are often feels completely useless. Also if the boss on 2nd or 3rd floor completely counter your strat, that means you just wasted another 30-60 minutes of your life. Having good boss matchup, but the boss now have auto healer+debuffer bot. Yeah kafka just go home and start over again.
Overall, bosses and elites one shot your 9k hp 2k def Fu Xuan is pretty usual. Even Luocha cant heal her fast enough if she did survive that cheap attack in conundrum 10+. You now just rely on cheap tactics like guaranteed twin ruan mei, breaking the shop with unlimited money, and letting boss kill themself by freezing and unfreezing or banging their head on your absurd shield. Or died by themself of nihility cancers.
This is truly one of game mode of all time.

Below I will outline my level 120 namekian build, it will be a rather long post however I will list qq bang, stat distribution, move set/presets, alternate moves, supersouls etc etc
So starting off, this build can be run either ki or strike based as the soul is universal, my build is ki based so the majority of the build will list ki moves however I will list alternatives alongside.
Height - 4/4 (you can 3/4 or 2/4 if you wanted more speed) I wanted max health benefit
Weight - 1/3 (you can go 2/3 for aesthetics or 3/3 if your going strike based) I wanted max ki blast benefit
Qq bang and stat distribution:
Qq bang: +5+5+5+2-2+5 Stats: +200+24+8+60+0+130
In total this gives you 3 and 3/4 health bars, 8 bars of ki and 8 bars of stamina, for a strike build set up just swap ki blast points into strike
Super soul - hmm hmm hmmm! hm hmmm! hmmm! (Always) shortens revive time (m) (Awoken AND reinforcement skill active) activates health auto recovery mode for you and your allies
Note: you have to your awoken skill and buff active for the health auto recovery to activate.
This soul can be acquired from the red mini Buu’s from Majin Buu’s house time miniature - it is all rng based however you will eventually get if you don’t already have it
Move set:
Lovely cyclone, burst kamehameha, formation, burst charge, emperors death beam, warp kamehameha, potential unleashed and super explosive wave (punished guard for raids)
I will explain the why before displaying alternative move set.
Formation, to my knowledge is the longest lasting buff (30 seconds) it has 3 stages, stage 1 is 10% increase to ki and strike, stage 2 15%, stage 3 25%
This skill can be obtained from the ultimate finish on pq 133
Stage 3 also grants you back 3 bars of ki, the 30 second timer doesn’t start until you release the button, formation also activates your super soul if you are in your awoken state, the soul will activate as soon as stage 1 has triggered and last for the duration of the buff, if you hold the button until stage 3 you get 34 seconds of health regen until you press the button again…or use lovely cyclone…
Lovely cyclone is a strike skill obtained from the ultimate finish of pq 135 ribrianne, defender of love and justice
Lovely cyclone, you basically pirouette on the spot and strike a pose at the end that grants an increase to stamina damage against your opponent…
This move is interesting because not only is it a 360 degree move and grants a buff of its own but it also resets the timer of your currently applied buffs, meaning you can indefinitely rest the duration of formation and your super soul
Note: you need to hit the pose at the end of the move for this effect to work
With this being said, you don’t have to use lovely cyclone, it has great synergy however you need to use it to make benefit of it, formation has a long enough time on it that it doesn’t break fluidity of game play to keep buffing yourself, so you can run something else in its place if you wanted to
With all that’s been said you get: 3 and 3/4 health bars, 8 bars of ki and stamina, health regen, a 40% increase to ki blast and strike skills from potential unleashed and formation stage 3 and a way to rest set the times your buffs from move - lovely cyclone
This honestly makes the build feel like a mini raid boss and make content feel so trivial in the process - hmm hmm hmm soul is a great support soul for raids also, so not only you going to be dealing a lot of damage when formation is up but you will also be regenerating health for you and your team
Note: refrain from sticking too many buffs on, they will only last the duration of shortest buff applied. Example: formation and a pose, formation lasts 30 seconds and most poses last 15 seconds, the moment the 15 second pose runs out you will also lose your formation buff and hmm hmmm hmm alongside it, it can be reapplied or extended with lovely cyclone but that can become too much management!
Alternate move suggestions
Do or die or meditation (instead of formation)
Any of the below instead of burst kamehameha or lovely cyclone or both (these have been chosen for easy connection from basic attack combo knockbacks)

You can swap out potential unleashed for beast awoken, I just prefer the speed increase and 5% damage reduction from potential unleashed, however run beast for raids along with formation and hmm hmm hmm
On a side note, you can totally copy and paste this build onto a cac, however the best will be Majin and namekian

Long story short; I've executed a fuckton of people. Because of this, literally EVERYONE has -100 relation with me, and my strategy of staying alive consists of defending my few settlements with auto-resolving 400:1700 defense battles in my settlements.
I however would like to be able to have armies of over 1000 men to actually effectively attack/defense settlements, but to do this I clearly need more clans/nobles to join me, which obviously is very difficult when everyone hates me. How do I get them to join?
Pretty much every guide online is like "just be a vassal in the same kingdom they will like you" or "just donate like 4 spears to them they'll join :)", all of that is completely useless at this point...If I pass the charm checks, I usually have to pay something over 1m denars, which is too much for many nobles to join.

Darksiders 3 is a hack and slash adventure game developed by Gunfire Games. Released in 2018, Darksiders 3 asks the question, "How much more obvious do we have to make it that the developer has an underground BDSM kink?"
We play as Fury, one of the more reasonable members of the Riders of the Apocalypse who have been charged with fixing the ever growing screw up that was the supposed end of the world.
Gameplay is a mix between a hack and slash brawler and souls-lite. Enemies are numerous and swarming but also kill you in two hits if you don't time your dodges just right. Some metroidvania elements exist with backtracking to open up secrets/new areas as you gain new attacks.
The Good
One thing I do loves is when series games acknowledge and call out mistakes they made in the past. In my review of Darksiders 2 I griped about how every single quest comes in 3's. It's always get 3 this, find 3 that, kill 3 this. Early on in DS3 you come across a chamber where you have to gather 3 swords and the protagonist mutters, "It's always 3 isn't it? I hate it when the Creators take shortcuts." I felt seen.
Level design is great. Every area flows into the next and then back again, which I enjoy. I love when games feel like a connected world. Given the variety of environments this is a rather impressive feat. DS3 also features that timeless graphic style popularized by World of Warcraft so even 20 years from now the game will hold up visually.
The Bad
It tries to be a souls-like, hack and slash, metroidvania hybrid and falls a bit short on all accounts. Enemies have fast instant lunge attacks, auto-hit tracking and come in packs of 4+ but you fight like you're in dark souls with narrow dodge windows and animation locking. It's the first game in a long time where I had to set my controller down because I was getting sick of the games bullshit.
You'll pass numerous locations you need items you get later to access, but there's no mapping feature to keep track of this. Remembering the 40+ blocked off locations you passed can be a bit rough so your options are either to backtrack the entire game, use a 100% spoiler guide or just not bother with it.
The Ugly
The controls take awhile to get used to and you can't change them. For some ungodly reason dodge is R1 instead of the B button. Swapping combat forms in battle has a delay and feels very unnatural. Whip swinging often decides to just not work. Trying to select and use a buff item in combat is an exercise in futility.
To compound on that, one nitpicky issue I did have is also many puzzles/levels require you to be in a specific 'stance' or elemental form. Switching between them has a bit of an input delay so if you hit the wrong one you tend to huff as you wait to switch again. If you swap to the wrong form or are doing a puzzle which requires frequent swapping it gets a bit obnoxious.
Final Thoughts
The level layouts are fun and the boss fights are cool. It's when the game tries to marry hack and slash with souls-like that it starts to crack. There's a fine line between difficult and stupid and too often the game leans into stupid territory. As obnoxious as it is, the rest of the game is redeeming enough to make it tolerable. The story is pretty rad, especially if you're a fan of the apocalypse.
Interesting Game Facts
There, of course, is a nude mod. However, far more interesting are the model replacer mods. Eventually I got curious enough to try them out. It's a lot harder to take the end of the world as seriously when you're playing as Fiona from Adventure Time.

Gameplay is a mix between a hack and slash brawler and souls-lite. Enemies are numerous and swarming but also kill you in two hits if you don't time your dodges just right. Some metroidvania elements exist with backtracking to open up secrets/new areas as you gain new attacks.
One thing I do loves is when series games acknowledge and call out mistakes they made in the past. In my review of Darksiders 2 I griped about how every single quest comes in 3's. It's always get 3 this, find 3 that, kill 3 this. Early on in DS3 you come across a chamber where you have to gather 3 swords and the protagonist mutters, "It's always 3 isn't it? I hate it when the Creators take shortcuts." I felt seen.
Level design is great. Every area flows into the next and then back again, which I enjoy. I love when games feel like a connected world. Given the variety of environments this is a rather impressive feat. DS3 also features that timeless graphic style popularized by World of Warcraft so even 20 years from now the game will hold up visually.
It tries to be a souls-like, hack and slash, metroidvania hybrid and falls a bit short on all accounts. Enemies have fast instant lunge attacks, auto-hit tracking and come in packs of 4+ but you fight like you're in dark souls with narrow dodge windows and animation locking. It's the first game in a long time where I had to set my controller down because I was getting sick of the games bullshit.
You'll pass numerous locations you need items you get later to access, but there's no mapping feature to keep track of this. Remembering the 40+ blocked off locations you passed can be a bit rough so your options are either to backtrack the entire game, use a 100% spoiler guide or just not bother with it.
The controls take awhile to get used to and you can't change them. For some ungodly reason dodge is R1 instead of the B button. Swapping combat forms in battle has a delay and feels very unnatural. Whip swinging often decides to just not work. Trying to select and use a buff item in combat is an exercise in futility.
To compound on that, one nitpicky issue I did have is also many puzzles/levels require you to be in a specific 'stance' or elemental form. Switching between them has a bit of an input delay so if you hit the wrong one you tend to huff as you wait to switch again. If you swap to the wrong form or are doing a puzzle which requires frequent swapping it gets a bit obnoxious.
The level layouts are fun and the boss fights are cool. It's when the game tries to marry hack and slash with souls-like that it starts to crack. There's a fine line between difficult and stupid and too often the game leans into stupid territory. As obnoxious as it is, the rest of the game is redeeming enough to make it tolerable. The story is pretty rad, especially if you're a fan of the apocalypse.
There, of course, is a nude mod. However, far more interesting are the model replacer mods. Eventually I got curious enough to try them out. It's a lot harder to take the end of the world as seriously when you're playing as Fiona from Adventure Time.

Below I will outline my level 120 namekian build, it will be a rather long post however I will list qq bang, stat distribution, move set/presets, alternate moves, supersouls etc etc
So starting off, this build can be run either ki or strike based as the soul is universal, my build is ki based so the majority of the build will list ki moves however I will list alternatives alongside.
Height - 4/4 (you can 3/4 or 2/4 if you wanted more speed) I wanted max health benefit
Weight - 1/3 (you can go 2/3 for aesthetics or 3/3 if your going strike based) I wanted max ki blast benefit
Qq bang and stat distribution:
Qq bang: +5+5+5+2-2+5 Stats: +200+24+8+60+0+130
In total this gives you 3 and 3/4 health bars, 8 bars of ki and 8 bars of stamina, for a strike build set up just swap ki blast points into strike
Super soul - hmm hmm hmmm! hm hmmm! hmmm! (Always) shortens revive time (m) (Awoken AND reinforcement skill active) activates health auto recovery mode for you and your allies
Note: you have to your awoken skill and buff active for the health auto recovery to activate.
This soul can be acquired from the red mini Buu’s from Majin Buu’s house time miniature - it is all rng based however you will eventually get if you don’t already have it
Move set:
Lovely cyclone, burst kamehameha, formation, burst charge, emperors death beam, warp kamehameha, potential unleashed and super explosive wave (punished guard for raids)
I will explain the why before displaying alternative move set.
Formation, to my knowledge is the longest lasting buff (30 seconds) it has 3 stages, stage 1 is 10% increase to ki and strike, stage 2 15%, stage 3 25%
This skill can be obtained from the ultimate finish on pq 133
Stage 3 also grants you back 3 bars of ki, the 30 second timer doesn’t start until you release the button, formation also activates your super soul if you are in your awoken state, the soul will activate as soon as stage 1 has triggered and last for the duration of the buff, if you hold the button until stage 3 you get 34 seconds of health regen until you press the button again…or use lovely cyclone…
Lovely cyclone is a strike skill obtained from the ultimate finish of pq 135 ribrianne, defender of love and justice
Lovely cyclone, you basically pirouette on the spot and strike a pose at the end that grants an increase to stamina damage against your opponent…
This move is interesting because not only is it a 360 degree move and grants a buff of its own but it also resets the timer of your currently applied buffs, meaning you can indefinitely rest the duration of formation and your super soul
Note: you need to hit the pose at the end of the move for this effect to work
With this being said, you don’t have to use lovely cyclone, it has great synergy however you need to use it to make benefit of it, formation has a long enough time on it that it doesn’t break fluidity of game play to keep buffing yourself, so you can run something else in its place if you wanted to
With all that’s been said you get: 3 and 3/4 health bars, 8 bars of ki and stamina, health regen, a 40% increase to ki blast and strike skills from potential unleashed and formation stage 3 and a way to rest set the times your buffs from move - lovely cyclone
This honestly makes the build feel like a mini raid boss and make content feel so trivial in the process - hmm hmm hmm soul is a great support soul for raids also, so not only you going to be dealing a lot of damage when formation is up but you will also be regenerating health for you and your team
Note: refrain from sticking too many buffs on, they will only last the duration of shortest buff applied. Example: formation and a pose, formation lasts 30 seconds and most poses last 15 seconds, the moment the 15 second pose runs out you will also lose your formation buff and hmm hmmm hmm alongside it, it can be reapplied or extended with lovely cyclone but that can become too much management!
Alternate move suggestions
Do or die or meditation (instead of formation)
Any of the below instead of burst kamehameha or lovely cyclone or both (these have been chosen for easy connection from basic attack combo knockbacks)
Focus flash Any kamehameha ability (apart from divine) Any galick gun/beam/cannon Pretty cannon Crush cannon Blaster bomb, ball, shell Revenge final flash Spirit pulse
There are more however these are my favourite suggestion
For strike supers I would honestly keep lovely cyclone on and opt for deadly dance or Mach punch instead of burst kamehameha, Mach punch is great because you can instantly fire off an ultimate attack on the last hit, so Mach punch into godly display, is godly!
You can swap out potential unleashed for beast awoken, I just prefer the speed increase and 5% damage reduction from potential unleashed, however run beast for raids along with formation and hmm hmm hmm
On a side note, you can totally copy and paste this build onto a cac, however the best will be Majin and namekian

Whenever I see fight discussions that include Zeus people always say that TFTST is like some insta win but honestly I think it kinda sucks.
We’ve only seen it used three times and successfully twice and both times the guys that used em died.
I just don’t think it’s that powerful since it only knocked out Zeus teeth when Cronos used it and while it did a lot to Zeus when Adam used it that was due to them both using it at the same time. It’s like counters in boxing when you get someone as they are moving in towards you it does a hell of a lot more damage than when they are still. And that’s the thing with TFTST it temporally stops time for one punch so the other guy isn’t moving so there’s no counter when fighting pretty much anyone else so it’s stuck as a dentists teeth remover. It’s a strong punch being able to damage a god proves that but other techniques have also shown that level of damage while also not needed such a large charge up.
That’s what really seals the deal to me, it is just an attack that is most effective when both fighters are using it at the same time and without it it’s just a strong punch that can’t put someone down while needing a charge up. Characters like Poseidon Apollo and maybe some other fast guys will take a hit and then know to blitz their opponent the next time they charge it up.
I’m not saying it’s bad it’s just not the auto win a lot of people say it is and Zeus can’t use it to beat every one. I don’t think I wrote this very well I just kinda did it in a spur of the moment but I think I got my point across.

Just finished my first game, 18/6 and a Quadra (enemy Jinx was top tilting). Here is my build path, I died at 5 mins: boots/dagger - BF - Pickaxe - IE - Yun Taal - LDR - PD - game finished.
I really felt the amount of damage I was doing after 2 items, I went LDR 3rd because they had a super tanky Sion, but I feel Zeal into PD could have been also a great option since it now gives you 20% crit.
I kinda felt the lack of attack speed, I used to build Kraken first, so I had to play even more carefully with positioning in order to hit more autos.
I still think my build was not the greatest, I wanted to try Yun Taal but maybe the path was not so on point; still gg's tho :)

This item is crazy, it stacks burn and when you have your q active, it basically does more than double of your normal damage from each auto attack. Ashe with Q active and Aphelios with red gun have the strongest interaction with this item from my own research. Combine this item with infinity edge and you have higher dps than any other adc

"Ah, there you are Commander. Your message said there was something you wanted to talk with me about?" Henry asked as his executive officer approached the system map.
“Aye Captain, now's a good a time as any. As you know, the rate of disciplinary incidents has more than tripled in the last two weeks. We've had six fistfights, one near strangling, a few dozen counts of sexual harassment amongst different parties, and a few more incidents of a nature that I would rather not get into for fear of derailing the point of this conversation. I need additional resources to allocate towards ship internal security. With your permission, I'd like to borrow some of our more trusted marines to help the MA's out on their off shifts.” Commander Alvarez asked.
“Yeah, of course, take what you need to nip this in the bud. I can't say I'm entirely surprised; we expected a certain amount of this with the stresses of FTL travel. With everyone cooped up like this, maybe we should brainstorm some new outlets for the crew. Were there any specific incidents I need to get involved with?” Henry replied as he looked up from the list of updates and reports on his own console.
“No, I have it covered. It's just the regs state I need to ask permission to use marines for internal security matters.” The Commander waved it off.
“Excellent, continue to keep me in the loop then. Can I ask you a question?” Henry took the opportunity to ask something that had been bothering him.
“You just did. Hah! Just kidding, put the axe away boy! Now what would you like to know?” He said with a twinkle in his eye.
“I've seen your file, well, the parts that weren’t redacted anyway. If anything, I should be taking your orders! I mean, you're the Space Wolf! Nobody came even close to the number of ships captured or destroyed than you in the early days of the battle for the belt. Why would they want me to be captain when they had someone like you coming along the whole time? Why aren't you a captain anymore? By all right this should be your command, not mine.” Henry asked, after taking one last look around to verify they were still alone around the system map.
Commander Alvarez seemed stunned for a moment before he settled into a more pensive look.
“Listen, son, you're all full of the vigor and high passions of youth. By that I mean you've got a certain fire and aggression in you, yet I've seen you generally keep it balanced by wit and wisdom. You are a perfect match for the job, even if you could use some more real world experience. With some guidance, you'll do just fine, if you can keep strict standards for yourself and crew and a cool head when things get tough."
"I appreciate that, and I will definitely lean on your experience whenever possible. However, you didn't really answer my question... Why aren't you a captain anymore?"
"I... got a lot of damn good men and women killed in an impossible situation when we lost the Michigan-II, and I never truly got over it. No amount of medals, captured enemy ships, or the fact that I've saved many more lives than I lost can make up for that. I finally found peace with that, but that peace required that I relieve myself of any chance of future command. My legacy, for better or worse, is set in stone. Joining this expedition gives me another chance at adjusting the scales without breaking my former vows, even if the only people who will ever know it are here on the voyage with us.”
“So, you claim you have no aims or desires for leadership, but here you are a mere heartbeat away from it.” Henry said, carefully studying his executive officer's every reaction.
“My time for glory is mostly gone, yours is at your feet before you. To the world, I am retired in comfort and isolation. In reality you have me here to help make your will law. You can relax. I already turned down command of this expedition. I was plan A, why do you think they had to scramble to find you? I will take command of this mission only if you are incapable of doing so yourself, Sir. In the meantime, let my experience and whatever wisdom I can offer guide you.”
An emergency alert snapped both of their attention out of their conversation. "There's a fire in one of the officer's cabins?!" Henry’s pulse quickened as he referenced the map to find which one.
“Fuck, it started in Chantal’s room!” Henry said, horrified.
“I've got the CIC under control. Go on and get her out of there, I'll send the cavalry."
“Thank you, Commander.” Henry called back over his shoulder as he rushed for the quick lift.
The officer cabins were the in the very next deck overhead, so he was able to arrive quickly and break into a sprint. The ship shifted as it dodged some antimatter, causing Henry to slip and scramble back to his feet. As he rounded the corner he saw her door was closed and the keypad powered was off. He could hear thumps and muffled screaming from within the room.
"HANG ON CHANTAL, I'M COMING!" Henry shouted in the hope that she could hear him as he pried at the manual override panel.
Two modified Paladin exo-combat armor suits rounded the corner seconds later with a hospitalman trailing behind pushing a medical cart.
"WE'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE, SIR." A speaker-amplified voice spoke from behind him.
One of the Paladin suits accessed the manual control override and forced the door open enough for the other suit to reach in and pry it the rest of the way open as smoke plumed into the corridor. The second suit charged into the room with its flood lights on as a water cannon mounted on the right wrist sprayed flame retardant from a pack on its back. The first suit abandoned the door control and entered, emerging moments later with Chantal awake and coughing from inside the darkened door frame. She was quickly ushered into cleaner air, set gently down, wrapped in a blanket, and was quickly attended to by a hospitalman who began to check her vitals.
Relief flooded Henry’s mind as his adrenaline surge broke against the wall of worry he had built up during his mad dash from the CIC.
“Baby you came for me! I thought I was going to die in there." She pulled him into a tight embrace as she wept in cathartic release.
"Of course I did! I couldn't stand to lose you, especially not over something like this. So, what the hell happened in there?"
"Well you know me, I was all burning the midnight oil and then I smelled smoke! Then there were some sparks, the outlet pops then whoosh! My computer station and my desk are all ablaze along with half my notes, then the damned door wouldn't work! I had to drop to the floor under the smoke and pound on the door in hopes that someone would hear me. God, it was horrible... I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life." She replied with a deep shudder.
"You're safe now, it's going to be alright."
"I know, but what about my work?" She replied with a forlorn look back at her smoke damaged room.
"What about your work?"
"As you know, I lost a ton of it just now, but what’s worse is I don't even have the ability to recover them! Remember how I lost my backup drive last week? Like, I know I packed it and it is not here anywhere! It’s like some sick cosmic joke on me or something. Sorry! Gotta keep it positive, girl! I get to rethink my last few weeks’ worth of work from scratch... that was almost positive! I probably have most of this recoverable from email sent box backups. Fuck, what do you do if there's no good silver lining?” Chantal bemoaned.
Henry couldn’t help himself but laugh for a second, while his girlfriend stared at him, waiting for a response.
“I’m sorry, is this funny to you or something?”
“No, no of course not. This might be one of those times where the only silver lining is that you're alive. Plus, if anyone can remember and rebuild their notes, you can." Henry smiled down at her.
“Fine, fine, at least I am alive. I was only breathing smoke for a few seconds after all.” She said, rolling her eyes. “Thank you for rushing down here right away anyway, it means a lot. You're amazing, you know.”
Henry smiled, slightly uncomfortable for a moment, so he changed the subject.
“I do my best... Anyway, it seems like these electrical issues seem to be getting worse instead of better. Whatever patch these clowns have slapped on my ship to get her to pass inspection is clearly coming undone. What do you think is going on here?” Henry asked in mild exasperation.
“Honestly, I can’t tell you without digging into the systems myself, which I would rather avoid. My plate is full enough as it is right now, especially having to reproduce so much of my own work now. This ship has kilometers of power cables running throughout it, after all, and you have an entire loyal, capable team down there in electrical, so it should only be a matter of time before they sort it out for you. Let them do their jobs without harassing them too much, please?”
Henry felt a little irked at her for not giving him credit to know not to go overboard, but he stowed it, seeing as she ultimately was right.
“The crew has been under a lot of stress, too, between the technical issues with the lights going out, losing power to workstations, or the constant antimatter threat. More than a few people have tried to convince me to turn us around and return to S33 for a more in-depth refit and repair cycle before we try the mission again. So far, everyone has accepted the fact that we are continuing the mission without much argument, but I fear what may happen if these issues are seen as getting worse. Our orders are clear, though, we must continue the journey.” Henry said, uncomfortable with the implications, even if he didn't dare voice it.
“You should get on the Q-Comm to report the fire to S33. Maybe they will order us back to base after this.” She offered, looking for a solution to an impossible problem.
“Good idea, at least the Q-Comm is still working. It’s incredible to me those particles maintained their entanglement once we passed through the baryonic barrier. That alone has been a huge morale boost, being able to contact home base with no time lag.” Henry replied.
“It’s incredible to you because you only have a basic grasp of the science, hon. But that’s alright, very few people truly understand it. That’s in part what you have me here for anyway. Einstein called the effect spooky action from a distance; I always liked that line.”
Henry ran his fingers through his hair and looked at Chantal, with a shake of his head and a smile.
“Listen, Henry, I just had a crazy stressful experience and I need to unwind. Plus, I haven’t slept in almost a day, so I am bone tired. Let’s go to bed, huh? What do you say doc, am I clear to go?” Chantal asked.
The hospitalman closed her eyes and shook her head before responding. "Yes, you are cleared to rest, and only to rest, do you understand me?"
Chantal mouthed a thank you before she took Henry by the hand and led him off to the captain’s quarters. Henry felt no desire to fight it, nor flaw with her reasoning. Sleep sounded good, really good. Plus, he was about an hour from the start of his sleep shift anyway, and Alvarez had the CIC well covered. The lights flickered again, but Henry very purposefully ignored it.
“Hey, since we have a little time and we are both a little wound up, Why don’t we take a shower together real quick?” She said with genuine enthusiasm and a wink.
“Madam, I like the way you think.” The couple raced just a bit faster than regulations would have liked, and arrived at his door in record speed.
Inside the room they fell upon each other in great passion and need, stripping each other out of their BDU’s and underclothes. Henry tossed a giggling Chantal onto the bed, and proceeded to kiss her neck and nibble on her ear causing her to purr in anticipation before he moved down her chest, past her navel, and then eagerly began to move his kisses in between her thighs.
“Hah…. I haven’t showered. Are you sure? Oooookay! I think…. Hah…. Okay.” She said breathlessly as Henry began to work his tongue until she began to shiver and squirm before she cried out as she melted in his mouth.
“Enough, please, I can’t take it anymore! Just fuck me already!” Chantal pulled herself together enough to beg for it. Henry stood rigid and ready and set himself to granting her request, first slowly, and then with a growing intensity. She once more began to squirm as he paid close attention to her hip’s cues, knowing very well by now what she liked.
As she climaxed again, Henry lifted her from the bed and pushed her up against the wall, and then bent her over his desk for a bit before he could take it no longer and they finished together.
“Holy shit… my legs aren’t gonna work for a bit after that one. Help me up?” Chantal said in between shallow breaths.
“Yes, ma’am. It would be my pleasure.” Henry said as he helped her to her feet and into the shower, staying in longer than was strictly necessary.
Henry left the steam first, once more thankful that his cabin included its own small bathroom, rather than a communal one. Being captain had its perks, after all. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist, then handed another to Chantal who gratefully accepted it before it dropped to the ground as she stared straight past him.
“Henry!" She squeaked as she pointed past him.
"What?" Henry asked, confused.
"Henry, someone was in here!”
On their bathroom mirror, wiped from the steam were the words TURN BACK.
Henry's blood ran cold and his adrenaline spiked him into overdrive. He waved Chantal back into the shower and put his finger to his lips. She nodded then wrapped herself in her retrieved towel and dropped to the shower floor with her arms wrapped around her knees, whimpering slightly. Henry moved silently along the wall, watching the visible half of his room for any movement. He then burst round the door frame, only to find everything perfectly, precisely as they had left it. The shock of finding nothing collided with the spike of his adrenaline surge, which only fed his growing unease.
“There’s nobody here!” Henry called out after checking the closet, the only other place someone could have hidden.
“Did you lock the door?” Chantal asked, her mind already working on the mystery.
“I set the security protocol to auto lock every time it closes.”
“Paul. We need to talk to Paul.” Chantal said, squeezing her BDU’s up over her hips with a few hops. Henry pulled on his undershirt before tossing over her bra.
“Why would we want to bring that weasel into this?” Henry asked, incredulous at to how he could possibly help.
“Because he has access to the surveillance tapes, why else?”
Henry stared at Chantal, brimming with rage, trying his hardest to keep it isolated to Paul over the invasion of his privacy.
“Did you just say surveillance tapes!?!” Henry asked in an icy tone. “That does it, I’m going to strangle him.” Henry said, moving with a purpose toward the door.
“Stop. Turn around and give me a kiss. I already disabled the video cameras, at least all the ones I could find. He has audio at best, even that I doubt. What he does have that I want is the data from the motion sensor that he had installed just in case you found the more obvious bugs. Unfortunately, I sabotaged its effectiveness by blocking the sensor with dense foam, but there might be enough of something to give us a clue."
“How in the hell do you know about all of this anyway, and why the hell didn’t you tell me?!” Henry roared.
“This entire enterprise is run by an intelligence agency; how can you not have seen that one coming a mile away? I have gotten very good at catching bugs over the years. Just because I expect the invasion of privacy to be happening, doesn’t mean I have to make it easy on them. Just be happy I already took care of the issue, alright?” She replied firmly while staring him in the eyes with raised eyebrows.
“You’re incredible, I love you.” Henry blurted out before he could catch himself. Chantal beamed and tackled him to the bed sitting on his lap.
“What took you so long? Never mind, don’t answer that. I love you too, man have I wanted to say that one for a while now.”
“You know these things aren’t easy for me. I had to be sure, I also didn’t want to mess anything up. We need to be able to work together even if we had turned out to be a bad couple.” Henry admitted, Chantal made an show as she thought it over, but she then smiled and helped Henry to his feet.
“Alright, my captain. You speak great wisdom. While I have certainly felt, and thoroughly enjoyed, the depths of your passion, it is really nice to hear about it too. I do think it makes it all the better that you rule said passion with reason. It’s just one of the many things I love about you.” She said, laying her hand over his heart.
Henry took her other hand and kissed it before replying. “I think above all, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t take you for granted, nor suffer the same in reverse. A wise woman once gave me some great advice there that I have taken to heart.”
“Okay, Romeo, maybe you have a better handle on these things than you think. Now… Let’s go interrogate Paul.” Chantal had a fire in her eyes that Henry was loving very much at that moment.
“I have wanted to turn the screws on that spook for a while now.” Henry smiled as he spoke, and he opened up the connection to the ship’s intranet through his neural implant to send a message.
MEET ME IN YOUR QUARTERS IN 5 MINUTES FOR A DISCUSSION OF CRITICAL IMPORTANCE – CPT. O'TOOLE
“That ought to get him there and alone.” Henry smirked. “Let’s go.”
Together, they made their way to Paul’s equivalent-sized quarters, which he had somehow secured for himself in the ship design to help facilitate his role as the official thorn in Henry’s paw. I guess being the captain’s handler has its perks as well. Henry’s eye twitched at the corner.
After making them wait far too long, Paul opened the door and gesturing them inside. The door closed and Paul turned towards them, narrowing his eyes, studying them both.
“Is this about the fire?” Paul asked before Henry punched the weasel right in the diaphragm, forcing him to gasp for air. The look of shock on his face as he bent forwards was priceless.
“What the fuck, Henry!?” Paul managed to choke out after a minute between gasps.
“Relax, I didn’t do any permanent damage, yet.” Henry said, Paul for just a second showed actual fear in his eyes before he sneered in defiance. “Oh? That got your attention, did it? Why were you spying on me?” Henry growled.
Paul closed his eyes, dropped his head, and began to laugh before Henry grabbed him by the throat and slammed him into the wall. Foolishly, Paul even then kept laughing amidst the gasping. So Henry squeezed until Paul started slapping his arm, looking genuine fear once more growing across his face.
“Orders… I was following orders!” Paul managed to say amidst gasps and coughs.
“I thought it might be something like that. You're going to open up those files, now, and you're going to show me everything.” Henry said, dropping him to his feet at last.
“Fucking hell, Henry, I thought you of all people would have anticipated this was going to be the case. Do you think the people who made this all possible would simply let you fly around the most dangerous, advanced warship in human history without some insurance?”
“Don’t try and weasel out of your own personal culpability here. You may also want to think back to other people who were “only following orders” while performing acts they knew were wrong before you wave that line around like some get out of jail free card.” The fact that he had nothing to say spoke volumes.
“You should have told me, Paul.” Henry growled.
“That defeats the purpose! Plus, your girlfriend sabotaged them all before we ever left S33 anyway, and once more after! That type of tech doesn’t just grow on trees you know, and I don’t have an unlimited supply. You should be thanking me for covering for her and reporting back like things are normal!” Paul shouted in indignation.
“This is pointless, show me the files from around fifteen minutes ago, motion trackers, thermals, anything you have that's not blocked or sabotaged.” Henry commanded. Paul’s eyes narrowed, but after a long moment he huffed and closed his eyes.
Paul then sat down at his station and fired it up.
“Like I said, I've got practically nothing. No video, muffled audio and readings from what I assume to be a faulty motion sensor, that’s it. What are we looking for?”
“Chantal and I were, well, together. After we got out of the shower we saw that someone had written turn back in the condensation on the bathroom mirror. Only problem? My door auto locks when closed and only opens for my biometrics. That is why all of this even came up in the first place.”
“Motherfucker. That's a whole heap of bad news.” Paul said. Henry merely nodded, paying rather more attention to the screen to see if he could catch Paul in a lie about the extent of the spying.
“There’s nothing. No disturbances in the air that would even remotely resemble human movement between you two getting in the shower and you charging into your bedroom. With the noise of the shower and the distance to the microphone, there is nothing I can discern that is anomalous. You can see it all right here for yourself.”
Henry found himself even more confused and alarmed than before.
“How is that possible? Look again, run through some filters or something. There must be some evidence somewhere!”
“Alright, relax, I will get to work on this and get you a report by the end of C shift. In the meantime, you look like a mess. Get some sleep man! I can take care of it from here. Oh, and I want you to remember that I forgave you quite magnanimously for that little episode back there where you attacked me.” Henry and Chantal gave each other a look as Paul spoke.
“Wasn’t gonna apologize anyway, you had it coming. I’m going to hit the rack. I expect that report to be detailed and ready when I get up.” Henry took Chantal by the hand, and they left together, not waiting for a response.
“What a snake. Did you see him in there? Zero guilt or recognition whatsoever about spying like that. It just makes my skin crawl. Gives me bad memories.” Chantal said, turning pensive and quiet.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Henry asked, seeing that there was something clearly bothering her.
“I… had an uncle that lived with us from time to time and he would spy on me when I was dressing, try and sneak looks in the shower, stuff like that. Never touched me or anyone else that I know of, thank god, but man did it screw me up a bit still. Played havoc with my sense of security and even my sanity, never being quite sure it was real or all in my head. I wish I had said something, but I was afraid everyone would think I was overreacting or imagining it. I saw it in his eyes though, that look of... predatory lust. At least I didn't see anything like that in Paul's eyes. To this day it makes my skin crawl.”
“Good God, I can see how alone you must have felt in the middle of all that.” He squeezed her hand, she smiled up at him.
“Yeah, that was one of the hardest parts. I don’t think Paul is some raging pervert or anything, but it concerns me how normalized it was to him. Even if he isn’t being a creep with it, as if we can take his claims to be covering for me at face value. There is still no way I am going to let him have easy access to intimate videos of us, if I can possibly help it.” Chantal said before adding, “I’ll be all right, don’t worry about me. Let’s just get some sleep.”
Henry put his palm against the biometric scanner outside his room and the door slid open for them. They definitely needed some sleep after the emotional roller coaster of the past few hours, and the irresistible warm embrace of his bed called for him. The Q-Comm report could wait until he woke, he decided.
Better to have the electrical inspection ordered up, too.

Sarah’s haunted thoughts repeated like a mantra. She had to be ready, but how? Her skin crawled and itched, the long sleeves of her BDU’s prevented her from being able to do anything about the painful sensation from the inflamed scratches they hid. She blearily rubbed at her sunken eyes, and she drained the rest of her coffee. All the numbers on the screen had started bleeding in together and her eyes hurt horribly, with the throbbing pain in her abdomen only compounding her misery.
“My god, Sarah, you look a wreck, hon. How have you been sleeping?” Yvonne, her shift partner asked, with concern in her voice.
“I have a monster tension headache, I just hope the meds kick in soon. Can you check my math? I need to get out of these white lights for a few minutes. Close my eyes for a bit, something, anything. I've been having nightmares again.” Sarah felt good, being able to admit it, and Yvonne had long since proven her friendship, so it was easier to actually speak.
“Yeah, no prob. As soon as I am done here I will check your readings and we can get out of here. Do you mean nightmares from the invasion?” Yvonne asked, carefully picking her words and tone.
“Kind of the same general themes, but different. Everything is going wrong, like the worst possible outcomes of my worst nightmares are all combining together. Like, it feels actively malicious, I don't know, its hard to explain...” Sarah said, bleakly.
“That’s hard, I am sorry. You need a shower, and an uninterrupted nap. Sleep deprivation plays all kinds of hell on the body and mind. I had a friend who went through an insomniac phase so extreme he would go days without sleeping. Wound up in the hospital after trying to drive to work while hallucinating his dead fiancée was sitting in the passenger seat screaming at him to watch out. Wound up rear-ending the car in front of him. Thank God he lived to tell the tale, but that is why it worries me to see you like this.” Yvonne planted her hand on Sarah’s shoulder as she told the story.
“Yikes, I think I slept like two hours into my sleep shift before I started having the nightmares again, woke up, and passed in and out of some restless sleep. It got really bad around oh three hundred. There were sounds... noises like scratching and a loud bang, and the shadows were moving. I just kept feeling like I was being watched, but everyone else seemed to be having disturbed sleep in their bunks. God, it was a creepy feeling.” Sarah took a moment to compose herself.
“I know how crazy this will sound, maybe that I am sleep deprived and likely hallucinating like your friend, but just hear me out. There was something there Yvonne, in the dark at the edge of perception, I could feel it. I also know I wasn’t the only one tossing and turning either. I could also hear scratchy whispering, too. I just hid, strapped in under the weighted blanket. At some point I slept some more, I must have, but not for what felt like a few stressful and draining hours. I'm just making a total mess of explaining this, aren’t I?”
“No, you're fine, girl! I am sorry that happened, my dorm has been pretty quiet, but I have always slept like a rock. Is there anything I can do?”
“I could use a hug.” Sarah said, which caused Yvonne to laugh, breaking some of the tension. They embraced warmly for a good minute, which did wonders for relieving some of the headache and her black mood.
“Thanks, Yvonne, I know it’s all in my head and it’s a vicious feedback cycle due to lack of quality sleep. Thanks for listening without calling me crazy.“ Sarah said, shying away from the last thing she hadn’t the courage to say.
She didn’t dare mention how she had hidden under the covers as she felt it get near. How she had felt something pushing on the mattress. How as her fear peaked, she herself peeked over the covers to find nothing there just to have the oppressive feeling evaporate along with the sensation of pressure by her feet. Her dorm mates all seemed to stop stirring after that, and only then did the nightmares stop for her that night. By then she was left with barely enough time for one last short sleep cycle before the start of A shift that very morning. This was a secret she would have to keep to herself, nobody would believe her anyway.
“I think I'll ask the Chief for a break from my duties today to rest and to visit med bay. Maybe they can give me something to help catch back up on my sleep.” Sarah said.
“Good idea, can I come with? I’ll back you up.” Yvonne said. Sarah smiled at her friend before she nodded at her before they checked off the last of their duties on site and headed away to find the Chief.

CAPTAIN HENRY O’TOOLE
"Ah, there you are Commander. Your message said there was something you wanted to talk with me about?" Henry asked as his executive officer approached the system map.
“Aye Captain, now's a good a time as any. As you know, the rate of disciplinary incidents has more than tripled in the last two weeks. We've had six fistfights, one near strangling, a few dozen counts of sexual harassment amongst different parties, and a few more incidents of a nature that I would rather not get into for fear of derailing the point of this conversation. I need additional resources to allocate towards ship internal security. With your permission, I'd like to borrow some of our more trusted marines to help the MA's out on their off shifts.” Commander Alvarez asked.
“Yeah, of course, take what you need to nip this in the bud. I can't say I'm entirely surprised; we expected a certain amount of this with the stresses of FTL travel. With everyone cooped up like this, maybe we should brainstorm some new outlets for the crew. Were there any specific incidents I need to get involved with?” Henry replied as he looked up from the list of updates and reports on his own console.
“No, I have it covered. It's just the regs state I need to ask permission to use marines for internal security matters.” The Commander waved it off.
“Excellent, continue to keep me in the loop then. Can I ask you a question?” Henry took the opportunity to ask something that had been bothering him.
“You just did. Hah! Just kidding, put the axe away boy! Now what would you like to know?” He said with a twinkle in his eye.
“I've seen your file, well, the parts that weren’t redacted anyway. If anything, I should be taking your orders! I mean, you're the Space Wolf! Nobody came even close to the number of ships captured or destroyed than you in the early days of the battle for the belt. Why would they want me to be captain when they had someone like you coming along the whole time? Why aren't you a captain anymore? By all right this should be your command, not mine.” Henry asked, after taking one last look around to verify they were still alone around the system map.
Commander Alvarez seemed stunned for a moment before he settled into a more pensive look.
“Listen, son, you're all full of the vigor and high passions of youth. By that I mean you've got a certain fire and aggression in you, yet I've seen you generally keep it balanced by wit and wisdom. You are a perfect match for the job, even if you could use some more real world experience. With some guidance, you'll do just fine, if you can keep strict standards for yourself and crew and a cool head when things get tough."
"I appreciate that, and I will definitely lean on your experience whenever possible. However, you didn't really answer my question... Why aren't you a captain anymore?"
"I... got a lot of damn good men and women killed in an impossible situation when we lost the Michigan-II, and I never truly got over it. No amount of medals, captured enemy ships, or the fact that I've saved many more lives than I lost can make up for that. I finally found peace with that, but that peace required that I relieve myself of any chance of future command. My legacy, for better or worse, is set in stone. Joining this expedition gives me another chance at adjusting the scales without breaking my former vows, even if the only people who will ever know it are here on the voyage with us.”
“So, you claim you have no aims or desires for leadership, but here you are a mere heartbeat away from it.” Henry said, carefully studying his executive officer's every reaction.
“My time for glory is mostly gone, yours is at your feet before you. To the world, I am retired in comfort and isolation. In reality you have me here to help make your will law. You can relax. I already turned down command of this expedition. I was plan A, why do you think they had to scramble to find you? I will take command of this mission only if you are incapable of doing so yourself, Sir. In the meantime, let my experience and whatever wisdom I can offer guide you.”
An emergency alert snapped both of their attention out of their conversation. "There's a fire in one of the officer's cabins?!" Henry’s pulse quickened as he referenced the map to find which one.
“Fuck, it started in Chantal’s room!” Henry said, horrified.
“I've got the CIC under control. Go on and get her out of there, I'll send the cavalry."
“Thank you, Commander.” Henry called back over his shoulder as he rushed for the quick lift.
The officer cabins were the in the very next deck overhead, so he was able to arrive quickly and break into a sprint. The ship shifted as it dodged some antimatter, causing Henry to slip and scramble back to his feet. As he rounded the corner he saw her door was closed and the keypad powered was off. He could hear thumps and muffled screaming from within the room.
"HANG ON CHANTAL, I'M COMING!" Henry shouted in the hope that she could hear him as he pried at the manual override panel.
Two modified Paladin exo-combat armor suits rounded the corner seconds later with a hospitalman trailing behind pushing a medical cart.
"WE'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE, SIR." A speaker-amplified voice spoke from behind him.
One of the Paladin suits accessed the manual control override and forced the door open enough for the other suit to reach in and pry it the rest of the way open as smoke plumed into the corridor. The second suit charged into the room with its flood lights on as a water cannon mounted on the right wrist sprayed flame retardant from a pack on its back. The first suit abandoned the door control and entered, emerging moments later with Chantal awake and coughing from inside the darkened door frame. She was quickly ushered into cleaner air, set gently down, wrapped in a blanket, and was quickly attended to by a hospitalman who began to check her vitals.
Relief flooded Henry’s mind as his adrenaline surge broke against the wall of worry he had built up during his mad dash from the CIC.
“Baby you came for me! I thought I was going to die in there." She pulled him into a tight embrace as she wept in cathartic release.
"Of course I did! I couldn't stand to lose you, especially not over something like this. So, what the hell happened in there?"
"Well you know me, I was all burning the midnight oil and then I smelled smoke! Then there were some sparks, the outlet pops then whoosh! My computer station and my desk are all ablaze along with half my notes, then the damned door wouldn't work! I had to drop to the floor under the smoke and pound on the door in hopes that someone would hear me. God, it was horrible... I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life." She replied with a deep shudder.
"You're safe now, it's going to be alright."
"I know, but what about my work?" She replied with a forlorn look back at her smoke damaged room.
"What about your work?"
"As you know, I lost a ton of it just now, but what’s worse is I don't even have the ability to recover them! Remember how I lost my backup drive last week? Like, I know I packed it and it is not here anywhere! It’s like some sick cosmic joke on me or something. Sorry! Gotta keep it positive, girl! I get to rethink my last few weeks’ worth of work from scratch... that was almost positive! I probably have most of this recoverable from email sent box backups. Fuck, what do you do if there's no good silver lining?” Chantal bemoaned.
Henry couldn’t help himself but laugh for a second, while his girlfriend stared at him, waiting for a response.
“I’m sorry, is this funny to you or something?”
“No, no of course not. This might be one of those times where the only silver lining is that you're alive. Plus, if anyone can remember and rebuild their notes, you can." Henry smiled down at her.
“Fine, fine, at least I am alive. I was only breathing smoke for a few seconds after all.” She said, rolling her eyes. “Thank you for rushing down here right away anyway, it means a lot. You're amazing, you know.”

More than a few people have tried to convince me to turn us around and return to S33 for a more in-depth refit and repair cycle before we try the mission again. So far, everyone has accepted the fact that we are continuing the mission without much argument, but I fear what may happen if these issues are seen as getting worse. Our orders are clear, though, we must continue the journey.” Henry said, uncomfortable with the implications, even if he didn't dare voice it.
“You should get on the Q-Comm to report the fire to S33. Maybe they will order us back to base after this.” She offered, looking for a solution to an impossible problem.
“Good idea, at least the Q-Comm is still working. It’s incredible to me those particles maintained their entanglement once we passed through the baryonic barrier. That alone has been a huge morale boost, being able to contact home base with no time lag.” Henry replied.
“It’s incredible to you because you only have a basic grasp of the science, hon. But that’s alright, very few people truly understand it. That’s in part what you have me here for anyway. Einstein called the effect spooky action from a distance; I always liked that line.”
Henry ran his fingers through his hair and looked at Chantal, with a shake of his head and a smile.
“Listen, Henry, I just had a crazy stressful experience and I need to unwind. Plus, I haven’t slept in almost a day, so I am bone tired. Let’s go to bed, huh? What do you say doc, am I clear to go?” Chantal asked.
The hospitalman closed her eyes and shook her head before responding. "Yes, you are cleared to rest, and only to rest, do you understand me?"
Chantal mouthed a thank you before she took Henry by the hand and led him off to the captain’s quarters. Henry felt no desire to fight it, nor flaw with her reasoning. Sleep sounded good, really good. Plus, he was about an hour from the start of his sleep shift anyway, and Alvarez had the CIC well covered. The lights flickered again, but Henry very purposefully ignored it.
“Hey, since we have a little time and we are both a little wound up, Why don’t we take a shower together real quick?” She said with genuine enthusiasm and a wink.
“Madam, I like the way you think.” The couple raced just a bit faster than regulations would have liked, and arrived at his door in record speed.
Inside the room they fell upon each other in great passion and need, stripping each other out of their BDU’s and underclothes. Henry tossed a giggling Chantal onto the bed, and proceeded to kiss her neck and nibble on her ear causing her to purr in anticipation before he moved down her chest, past her navel, and then eagerly began to move his kisses in between her thighs.
“Hah…. I haven’t showered. Are you sure? Oooookay! I think…. Hah…. Okay.” She said breathlessly as Henry began to work his tongue until she began to shiver and squirm before she cried out as she melted in his mouth.
“Enough, please, I can’t take it anymore! Just fuck me already!” Chantal pulled herself together enough to beg for it. Henry stood rigid and ready and set himself to granting her request, first slowly, and then with a growing intensity. She once more began to squirm as he paid close attention to her hip’s cues, knowing very well by now what she liked.
As she climaxed again, Henry lifted her from the bed and pushed her up against the wall, and then bent her over his desk for a bit before he could take it no longer and they finished together.
“Holy shit… my legs aren’t gonna work for a bit after that one. Help me up?” Chantal said in between shallow breaths.
“Yes, ma’am. It would be my pleasure.” Henry said as he helped her to her feet and into the shower, staying in longer than was strictly necessary.
Henry left the steam first, once more thankful that his cabin included its own small bathroom, rather than a communal one. Being captain had its perks, after all. He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist, then handed another to Chantal who gratefully accepted it before it dropped to the ground as she stared straight past him.
“Henry!" She squeaked as she pointed past him.
"What?" Henry asked, confused.
"Henry, someone was in here!”
On their bathroom mirror, wiped from the steam were the words TURN BACK.
Henry's blood ran cold and his adrenaline spiked him into overdrive. He waved Chantal back into the shower and put his finger to his lips. She nodded then wrapped herself in her retrieved towel and dropped to the shower floor with her arms wrapped around her knees, whimpering slightly. Henry moved silently along the wall, watching the visible half of his room for any movement. He then burst round the door frame, only to find everything perfectly, precisely as they had left it. The shock of finding nothing collided with the spike of his adrenaline surge, which only fed his growing unease.
“There’s nobody here!” Henry called out after checking the closet, the only other place someone could have hidden.
“Did you lock the door?” Chantal asked, her mind already working on the mystery.
“I set the security protocol to auto lock every time it closes.”
“Paul. We need to talk to Paul.” Chantal said, squeezing her BDU’s up over her hips with a few hops. Henry pulled on his undershirt before tossing over her bra.
“Why would we want to bring that weasel into this?” Henry asked, incredulous at to how he could possibly help.
“Because he has access to the surveillance tapes, why else?”
Henry stared at Chantal, brimming with rage, trying his hardest to keep it isolated to Paul over the invasion of his privacy.
“Did you just say surveillance tapes!?!” Henry asked in an icy tone. “That does it, I’m going to strangle him.” Henry said, moving with a purpose toward the door.
“Stop. Turn around and give me a kiss. I already disabled the video cameras, at least all the ones I could find. He has audio at best, even that I doubt. What he does have that I want is the data from the motion sensor that he had installed just in case you found the more obvious bugs. Unfortunately, I sabotaged its effectiveness by blocking the sensor with dense foam, but there might be enough of something to give us a clue."
“How in the hell do you know about all of this anyway, and why the hell didn’t you tell me?!” Henry roared.
“This entire enterprise is run by an intelligence agency; how can you not have seen that one coming a mile away? I have gotten very good at catching bugs over the years. Just because I expect the invasion of privacy to be happening, doesn’t mean I have to make it easy on them. Just be happy I already took care of the issue, alright?” She replied firmly while staring him in the eyes with raised eyebrows.
“You’re incredible, I love you.” Henry blurted out before he could catch himself. Chantal beamed and tackled him to the bed sitting on his lap.
“What took you so long? Never mind, don’t answer that. I love you too, man have I wanted to say that one for a while now.”
“You know these things aren’t easy for me. I had to be sure, I also didn’t want to mess anything up. We need to be able to work together even if we had turned out to be a bad couple.” Henry admitted, Chantal made an show as she thought it over, but she then smiled and helped Henry to his feet.
“Alright, my captain. You speak great wisdom. While I have certainly felt, and thoroughly enjoyed, the depths of your passion, it is really nice to hear about it too. I do think it makes it all the better that you rule said passion with reason. It’s just one of the many things I love about you.” She said, laying her hand over his heart.
Henry took her other hand and kissed it before replying. “I think above all, I wanted to make sure that I didn’t take you for granted, nor suffer the same in reverse. A wise woman once gave me some great advice there that I have taken to heart.”
“Okay, Romeo, maybe you have a better handle on these things than you think. Now… Let’s go interrogate Paul.” Chantal had a fire in her eyes that Henry was loving very much at that moment.
“I have wanted to turn the screws on that spook for a while now.” Henry smiled as he spoke, and he opened up the connection to the ship’s intranet through his neural implant to send a message.
MEET ME IN YOUR QUARTERS IN 5 MINUTES FOR A DISCUSSION OF CRITICAL IMPORTANCE – CPT. O'TOOLE
“That ought to get him there and alone.” Henry smirked. “Let’s go.”
Together, they made their way to Paul’s equivalent-sized quarters, which he had somehow secured for himself in the ship design to help facilitate his role as the official thorn in Henry’s paw. I guess being the captain’s handler has its perks as well. Henry’s eye twitched at the corner.
After making them wait far too long, Paul opened the door and gesturing them inside. The door closed and Paul turned towards them, narrowing his eyes, studying them both.
“Is this about the fire?” Paul asked before Henry punched the weasel right in the diaphragm, forcing him to gasp for air. The look of shock on his face as he bent forwards was priceless.
“What the fuck, Henry!?” Paul managed to choke out after a minute between gasps.
“Relax, I didn’t do any permanent damage, yet.” Henry said, Paul for just a second showed actual fear in his eyes before he sneered in defiance. “Oh? That got your attention, did it? Why were you spying on me?” Henry growled.
Paul closed his eyes, dropped his head, and began to laugh before Henry grabbed him by the throat and slammed him into the wall. Foolishly, Paul even then kept laughing amidst the gasping. So Henry squeezed until Paul started slapping his arm, looking genuine fear once more growing across his face.
“Orders… I was following orders!” Paul managed to say amidst gasps and coughs.
“I thought it might be something like that. You're going to open up those files, now, and you're going to show me everything.” Henry said, dropping him to his feet at last.
“Fucking hell, Henry, I thought you of all people would have anticipated this was going to be the case. Do you think the people who made this all possible would simply let you fly around the most dangerous, advanced warship in human history without some insurance?”
“Don’t try and weasel out of your own personal culpability here. You may also want to think back to other people who were “only following orders” while performing acts they knew were wrong before you wave that line around like some get out of jail free card.” The fact that he had nothing to say spoke volumes.
“You should have told me, Paul.” Henry growled.
“That defeats the purpose! Plus, your girlfriend sabotaged them all before we ever left S33 anyway, and once more after! That type of tech doesn’t just grow on trees you know, and I don’t have an unlimited supply. You should be thanking me for covering for her and reporting back like things are normal!” Paul shouted in indignation.
“This is pointless, show me the files from around fifteen minutes ago, motion trackers, thermals, anything you have that's not blocked or sabotaged.” Henry commanded. Paul’s eyes narrowed, but after a long moment he huffed and closed his eyes.
Paul then sat down at his station and fired it up.
“Like I said, I've got practically nothing. No video, muffled audio and readings from what I assume to be a faulty motion sensor, that’s it. What are we looking for?”
“Chantal and I were, well, together. After we got out of the shower we saw that someone had written turn back in the condensation on the bathroom mirror. Only problem? My door auto locks when closed and only opens for my biometrics. That is why all of this even came up in the first place.”
“Motherfucker. That's a whole heap of bad news.” Paul said. Henry merely nodded, paying rather more attention to the screen to see if he could catch Paul in a lie about the extent of the spying.
“There’s nothing. No disturbances in the air that would even remotely resemble human movement between you two getting in the shower and you charging into your bedroom. With the noise of the shower and the distance to the microphone, there is nothing I can discern that is anomalous. You can see it all right here for yourself.”
Henry found himself even more confused and alarmed than before.
“How is that possible? Look again, run through some filters or something. There must be some evidence somewhere!”
“Alright, relax, I will get to work on this and get you a report by the end of C shift. In the meantime, you look like a mess. Get some sleep man! I can take care of it from here. Oh, and I want you to remember that I forgave you quite magnanimously for that little episode back there where you attacked me.” Henry and Chantal gave each other a look as Paul spoke.
“Wasn’t gonna apologize anyway, you had it coming. I’m going to hit the rack. I expect that report to be detailed and ready when I get up.” Henry took Chantal by the hand, and they left together, not waiting for a response.
“What a snake. Did you see him in there? Zero guilt or recognition whatsoever about spying like that. It just makes my skin crawl. Gives me bad memories.” Chantal said, turning pensive and quiet.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Henry asked, seeing that there was something clearly bothering her.
“I… had an uncle that lived with us from time to time and he would spy on me when I was dressing, try and sneak looks in the shower, stuff like that. Never touched me or anyone else that I know of, thank god, but man did it screw me up a bit still. Played havoc with my sense of security and even my sanity, never being quite sure it was real or all in my head. I wish I had said something, but I was afraid everyone would think I was overreacting or imagining it. I saw it in his eyes though, that look of... predatory lust. At least I didn't see anything like that in Paul's eyes. To this day it makes my skin crawl.”
“Good God, I can see how alone you must have felt in the middle of all that.” He squeezed her hand, she smiled up at him.
“Yeah, that was one of the hardest parts. I don’t think Paul is some raging pervert or anything, but it concerns me how normalized it was to him. Even if he isn’t being a creep with it, as if we can take his claims to be covering for me at face value. There is still no way I am going to let him have easy access to intimate videos of us, if I can possibly help it.” Chantal said before adding, “I’ll be all right, don’t worry about me. Let’s just get some sleep.”
Henry put his palm against the biometric scanner outside his room and the door slid open for them. They definitely needed some sleep after the emotional roller coaster of the past few hours, and the irresistible warm embrace of his bed called for him. The Q-Comm report could wait until he woke, he decided.
Better to have the electrical inspection ordered up, too.

Sarah’s haunted thoughts repeated like a mantra. She had to be ready, but how? Her skin crawled and itched, the long sleeves of her BDU’s prevented her from being able to do anything about the painful sensation from the inflamed scratches they hid. She blearily rubbed at her sunken eyes, and she drained the rest of her coffee. All the numbers on the screen had started bleeding in together and her eyes hurt horribly, with the throbbing pain in her abdomen only compounding her misery.
“My god, Sarah, you look a wreck, hon. How have you been sleeping?” Yvonne, her shift partner asked, with concern in her voice.
“I have a monster tension headache, I just hope the meds kick in soon. Can you check my math? I need to get out of these white lights for a few minutes. Close my eyes for a bit, something, anything. I've been having nightmares again.” Sarah felt good, being able to admit it, and Yvonne had long since proven her friendship, so it was easier to actually speak.
“Yeah, no prob. As soon as I am done here I will check your readings and we can get out of here. Do you mean nightmares from the invasion?” Yvonne asked, carefully picking her words and tone.
“Kind of the same general themes, but different. Everything is going wrong, like the worst possible outcomes of my worst nightmares are all combining together. Like, it feels actively malicious, I don't know, its hard to explain...” Sarah said, bleakly.
“That’s hard, I am sorry. You need a shower, and an uninterrupted nap. Sleep deprivation plays all kinds of hell on the body and mind. I had a friend who went through an insomniac phase so extreme he would go days without sleeping. Wound up in the hospital after trying to drive to work while hallucinating his dead fiancée was sitting in the passenger seat screaming at him to watch out. Wound up rear-ending the car in front of him. Thank God he lived to tell the tale, but that is why it worries me to see you like this.” Yvonne planted her hand on Sarah’s shoulder as she told the story.
“Yikes, I think I slept like two hours into my sleep shift before I started having the nightmares again, woke up, and passed in and out of some restless sleep. It got really bad around oh three hundred. There were sounds... noises like scratching and a loud bang, and the shadows were moving. I just kept feeling like I was being watched, but everyone else seemed to be having disturbed sleep in their bunks. God, it was a creepy feeling.” Sarah took a moment to compose herself.
“I know how crazy this will sound, maybe that I am sleep deprived and likely hallucinating like your friend, but just hear me out. There was something there Yvonne, in the dark at the edge of perception, I could feel it. I also know I wasn’t the only one tossing and turning either. I could also hear scratchy whispering, too. I just hid, strapped in under the weighted blanket. At some point I slept some more, I must have, but not for what felt like a few stressful and draining hours. I'm just making a total mess of explaining this, aren’t I?”
“No, you're fine, girl! I am sorry that happened, my dorm has been pretty quiet, but I have always slept like a rock. Is there anything I can do?”
“I could use a hug.” Sarah said, which caused Yvonne to laugh, breaking some of the tension. They embraced warmly for a good minute, which did wonders for relieving some of the headache and her black mood.
“Thanks, Yvonne, I know it’s all in my head and it’s a vicious feedback cycle due to lack of quality sleep. Thanks for listening without calling me crazy.“ Sarah said, shying away from the last thing she hadn’t the courage to say.
She didn’t dare mention how she had hidden under the covers as she felt it get near. How she had felt something pushing on the mattress. How as her fear peaked, she herself peeked over the covers to find nothing there just to have the oppressive feeling evaporate along with the sensation of pressure by her feet. Her dorm mates all seemed to stop stirring after that, and only then did the nightmares stop for her that night. By then she was left with barely enough time for one last short sleep cycle before the start of A shift that very morning. This was a secret she would have to keep to herself, nobody would believe her anyway.
“I think I'll ask the Chief for a break from my duties today to rest and to visit med bay. Maybe they can give me something to help catch back up on my sleep.” Sarah said.
“Good idea, can I come with? I’ll back you up.” Yvonne said. Sarah smiled at her friend before she nodded at her before they checked off the last of their duties on site and headed away to find the Chief.

So I got into TFT when it first came out Played it for years and still do. Never care or even played league at that time , but my bestfriend loves the game so I decided to try and learn it over the past few months and I mainly only play with them. Now that I understand basics from watching YouTubers play I want to actually try and learn it and be good or at least can hold my own weight.
I started out as ADC since my bestfriend is a Soraka main and is a GOD at that legend we thought it would be best since they will be BOT with me and can help me there. Since then I still play ADC but I also like MID for a second choice the legends I like playing are Ziggs, Caitlyn, Varus, Smolder, Zyra (even tho she’s seen as a support? I like playing her). I’ve been playing a lot of ARAM lately to get use to many legends not only for me but trying to learn what’s their range if I was to go up against that certain legend.
It’s hard to play on my own in regular mode since I’ve played many games with my bestfriend my MMR is raised from playing with them so I’m not in lobbies with newer players. I can’t hold my own in my games and everyone gets mad and basically reports me for inting and tons of toxic chatting. I have a hard time last hitting minions and I don’t auto attack as much as I should, I rely on my abilities way too much, my positioning is always bad.
I do use U.GG & MOBALYTICS to get builds and know what to build and runes and what not.
Anyone know any setting I should have on or off that would help me or any tips or tricks or advice?

Skill: Spend 2 skill points to call in helicopter support to buff the energy-regeneration rate of you and the selected ally by 50%-100% until his next turn (Level-based). If the buffed ally uses their ultimate, gain 1 [Plan] and regen 1 skill point. Talent: When allies spend a skill point, gain [Plan]. Once you have 5 [Plan], follow-up attack all enemies with a helicopter bullet barrage to deal 50 toughness. While under the effects of the skill the helicopter finishes off with an explosion to deal additional amaze and 50 additional toughness damage.
