Warm, fuzzy, sometimes tangled. Due to the holiday season, it may take up to 48 hours for (1) a post to be approved/ reviewed (2) response to modmail/from a moderator. Regarding the API/blackout we're open again but also watching, listening, thinking hard. Whatever happens needs to happen thoughtfully. Please keep being excellent to each other.

2024.05.14 01:15 lumell Let's speculate how the unreleased Olympians will work!

Just for fun, why don't we let our imaginations run wild for a bit.
The Boons in Hades 2 operate roll much more narrowly than the ones in Hades 1, forcing you to play differently to get the most out of their benefits. We should expect that when they get added to the game their bonuses will work differently to the first game.
Here's my hat into the ring:

ATHENA

DIVINE STRIKE/FLOURISH: Inflicts Focused for 3 secs. Focused enemies take +(X%) damage. Only one enemy can be Focused at a time, you cannot apply Focused to another enemy until it wears off or the enemy dies.
Single target focused status effect, kind of the opposite of Hitch. Really good in boss fights, bbut also can be good for clearing rooms as long as you take out the enemies methodically.
PHALANX RING: The edge of your Cast Deflects projectiles. Deflected projectiles deal +(X%) damage.
It's a bubble shield! Would be a fun new niche to give to the Cast, I think, and opens up new strategic opportunities.
DIVINE DASH: Your dash Deflects. Deflected projectiles deal +(X%) damage.
The dash is weak enough in Hades 2 that I think you could get away with just bringing the best boon from the first game in and it wouldn't majorly imbalance the game. And why wouldn't you! It's iconic!
WISE GAIN: Evading damage with your Dash restores (X) Magick.
It's basically ruthless reflex but for MP gain instead of giving a damage bonus. Would be a fun way to bring that mechanic back!

ARES

BLOODY STRIKE/FLOURISH: Inflicts Damned. Damned enemies take damage after 2 secs. Reapplying Damned increases damage dealt and resets the timer. Deals a max of (X) damage.
It's Doom 2: Hell on Earth. The encouraged gameplay pattern is to damage the enemy up to the max damnation damage and then switch to something else to let it drop.
SLICE RING: Your Cast advances forward slowly while dealing (X) damage per second.
I feel like blade rifts from Hades 1 would fit well into the new mechanics. This has an interesting side effect in that enemies don't spend as long in the cast, so they won't be slowed down for as long.
VIOLENT SPRINT: Sprinting adds bonus damage to the next hit from your attack or special. Max +(X) damage.
Encourages a kind of hit and run playstyle, building up damage by sprinting it and then unleashing it all at once.
LOST GAIN: Restores (X) Magick when you kill an enemy
Obviously weaker in boss fights than mob rooms, but every boss in the game summons some kind of enemy at some point, so it's not totally useless in those!

DIONYSUS

VINTAGE STRIKE/FLOURISH: Attacks spill Blight Wine on the ground beneath enemies. Blight Wine lasts 4 secs and deals (X) damage per second to foes standing in it.
Good against stationary targets-- if an enemy moves, they'll move out of the Blight Wine pools and you won't get the full damage. Fortunately you can hold enemies in place with your cast. Against bosses you're best off finding openings to land hits while the boss is standing still, and most bosses have long periods when they do.
TRIPPY RING: Enemies in your Cast are Hazy. Hazy enemies deal damage to their allies and have (+X%) friendly fire damage.
Get your enemies so sloshed they start hitting their friends by accident. Would be fun to pop on Chronos when he uses his instant kill.
DRUNKEN SPRINT: Leave occasional pools of Blight Wine behind you when you sprint that deal (X) damage per second.
Good for running away from foes-- they'll walk into the blight wine pools while they give chase. Also generally plays into the the area denial theme of Dionysus boons here.
THIRSTY GAIN: Spill random pools of Blight Wine nearby every 1 sec. Walking over a pool of Blight Wine absorbs it and restores (X) Magick.
Kinda like Aphrodite's Gain Boon in that it relies on that God's mechanic, but also gives you some utility even if you don't have support for it. This one would probably be more reliant on other Dio boons though.
Anyway! I did this mostly for my own amusement, but I encourage you to speculate as well. It's fun!

Parallels between Elden Ring and Dark Souls 2 according to fans - the gods
I've compiled a list of parallels that fans have drawn between Elden Ring and Dark Souls 2, along with brief commentaries and illustrations on the patterns they may have observed.
https://preview.redd.it/rf3iddqmh90d1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=6dcbeb73ef5011e8ac1d0906c3efc5daad3f8382
"The game is called the Elden Ring and it's a sequel to a video game that came out a few years ago called Dark Souls, My work on it was actually done years ago. These games, they're like movies, they take a long time to develop." - George R.R. Martin
He [George Martin] actually knew about the Dark Souls games. He was aware of them and what they were about, so that made me happy. That sort of gave me a little bit of a boost. I knew immediately from talking to him, it just became apparent his skill and his passion for the fantasy genre, and for games as well. - Hidetaka Miyazaki
“I can't deny the fact that, maybe down the line, I want to go back to the [Dark Souls] series and make one more game before I retire. I don't want to be branded a liar if that happens.” - Hidetaka Miyazaki
Dark Souls 2 probably bears the Souls series’ closest resemblance to Elden Ring. Design wise, both Dark Souls 2 and Elden Ring stressed open-ended gameplay and ditched linear progression.
Miyazaki agrees and in fact goes a step further. “In regards to Dark Souls 2, I actually personally think this was a really great project for us, and I think without it, we wouldn’t have had a lot of the connections and a lot of the ideas that went forward and carried the rest of the series. We were able to have that different impetus and have those different ideas and make those different connections that we otherwise might not have had.” He goes so far as to say that “there’s really no way of telling how or if the series would have continued the way it did without Dark Souls 2.” Hidetaka Miyazaki

Elden Ring was co-directed by Yui Tanimura who is the director of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin.
"There are countless vestiges of long-lost gods in the ruins of Drangleic. Or perhaps they are the very same gods as ours, only known by different names."
I’ve seen people make comparison with the deities mentioned on the Name-engraved Ring list. (although the one they made about Ranni didn’t make sense to me and seem to be more relevant to the Gloam-Eyed Queen if anything).

St. Trina and Miquella from Elden Ring share striking similarities with Quella, the deity of dreams dreams from Dark Souls 2, and Nehma, the goddess of love. Like the latter, Miquella has the power to "compel affection" through the Bewitching Branch. St. Trina and Quella are associated with sleep, trees, and dreams. Miquella shares similarities with Quella, as both are associated with ethereal, dream-like entities like the Nascent Butterfly and White Ring,
Quella’s icon also depicts a boy with wings, which something similar we see Miquella have during Elden Ring’s intro cut scene.
https://preview.redd.it/a1uyuv0xh90d1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=c0fa27e5087b6c1ae5f4052fa94608e6a588b8c5
Hanleth is the goddess of bliss. After the war of the erdtree, Marika's reign ushered in an age of plenty when It is said that drops of blessing once dripped boughs forever which gradually restored HP.
In Marika's own words. Hark, brave warriors. Hark, my lord Godfrey. We commend your deeds. Guidance has delivered ye through ordeal to the place ye stand. Put the giants to the sword and confine the flame atop the mount. Let a new epoch begin. An epoch glistening with life. Brandish the Elden Ring, for the Age of the Erdtree! - Melina
Kremmel, god of Struggle.
Lord Radagon was a great champion... He came to these lands at the head of a great golden host, when he met Lady Rennala in battle. He soon repented his territorial aggressions though, and became husband to the Carian Queen. However, when Godfrey, first Elden Lord, was hounded from the Lands Between, Radagon left Rennala to return to the Erdtree Capital. - Miriel, Pastor of Vows
“Solemn duty weighs upon the one beholden; not unlike a gnawing curse from which there is no deliverance” descriptions from both Marika's & Radagon's Soreseals
Queen Marika has high hopes for us. That we continue to struggle. Unto eternity. - Gideon Ofnir

Radagon’s thorns
Prevented by the mantle of barbs. The thorns are impenetrable. A husk of the Erdtree's being; that spurns all that exists without. The only way to stand before the Elden Ring...and become the Elden Lord...is to pass the thorns. My purpose serves to aid in that very act. So I'd like you to undertake a new journey, with me. To the flame of ruin, far above the clouds, upon the snow mountaintops of the giants. Then I can set the Erdtree aflame. And guide you. Down the path to becoming Elden Lord. - Melina
“Ring granted protection by Kremmel, god of Struggle. The ring's spikes drive into the wearer's skin, so that each blow fuels spite toward the perpetrator. When damage is taken the ring retaliates and inflicts damage upon enemy.” - Ring of Thorns

Assuming the theories that Mesmer are true, his association with the snake (which is viewed as a traitor to the Erdtree), consumption of dragon hearts, and seeking ultimate power suggest the pursuit for supremacy for his own gain. This aligns with the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring), which depicts the snake, a manifestation of the god of desire, Zinder. The serpent is an imperfect dragon and symbol of the undead. Mesmer's ambition and willingness to embrace forbidden power mirrors the ring's representation of insatiable desire and the undying nature of the serpent.
Rykard from Elden Ring and Zandroe from Dark Souls share a striking similarity - they are both associated with serpents and the concept of greed. Zandroe is described as the "god of greed" whose manifestation and servant is the snake, while Rykard fed himself into a massive "god-devouring serpent" in his pursuit of immortality through devouring others, an act of ultimate greed.

Nahr Alma, the god of blood and a god of war, where Mohg is a demigod and the lord of blood.
Both Mohg and Nahr Alma are divinely associated with blood and have followers who use blood-themed weapons like the Scythe of Nahr Alma. Mohg and Nahr Alma's followers have rejected the world and vow to travel a bloody path. Mohg is the Lord of Blood and seeks to inaugurate a new dynasty, similar to Nahr Alma's influence

Morgott, the "Fell Omen" 忌み鬼 (Imi Oni) meaning "Abominable Demon#cite_ref-14)." , and highly-ranked clerics of Lindelt from Dark Souls 2 share similarities as holy knights who wield "demonic powers" to castigate those who harbor ambitions for power. Both are feared by their enemies for their ruthless tactics in battle, with Morgott slaughtering countless champions during the Shattering and these clerics of Lindelt use the miracle "Unveil" to reveal the location of traitors.
Wilful traitors, all. Thy kind are all of a piece. Pillagers. Emboldened by the flame of ambition. Have it writ upon thy meagre grave: Felled by King Morgott! Last of all kings.” Morgott, the Grace-Given.

Godwyn the Golden from Elden Ring and the God of Sun from Dark Souls 2 were revered for their mastery of lightning and their incantations, such as Lightning Spear*,* Dragonbolt Blessing*, and Sacred Oath. Additionally, Godwyn's victory of the ancient dragon Fortissax and his subsequent friendship with the fallen foe gave rise to the* ancient dragon cult in the capital, much like the God of Sun's connection with the Blinding Bolt that was forbidden so to protect the world from hatred, or sorrow, and the ancient clan) whose leader was revered as the deity.

The demigod general Radahn and Faraam like Nahr Alma, is a god of war from Dark Souls 2 are both associated with lions, a symbol of strength and ferocity in battle, representing their prowess as mighty warriors. Known for their skill in combat, with Radahn being captivated by the Lord of the Battlefield from a young age, now wields a greatsword in each hand, and the Faraam Knights being feared for their nimble two-handed swordplay.

Galib (I’ve seen it spelled “Calib”) from Dark Souls 2 and Malenia (who released her bloom in Caelid) both have a thematic connection to disease and affliction. Malenia and Miquella, both children of a single god, were afflicted with rot and eternal childhood respectively. Leydia apostles manipulated both the onset and curing of disease but were denied peaceful deaths, while Malenia's rot was an incurable sickness (as her army are undergoing their gradual, putrefaction of their flesh) that Miquella tried to ward off with unalloyed gold needles and her great rune provides healing after receiving damage*.*
Coincidentally Malenia can grow wings as well.

Caffrey, deity of Fortune, and Godfrey the first Elden lord. The name “Frey” might be derived from Nordic mythology. Frey is primarily associated with fertility, prosperity, and abundance.
Caffrey's icon mirrors the currency and EXP icon from Dark Souls 2, representing experience points gained by defeating enemies. In a similar vein, Godfrey is portrayed as the lord of the battlefield, who bravely battled Giants, confronted the Storm Lord and had countless victories, ushering in the Age of the Erdtree which was forged through the use of valuables like Smithing Stones [8], becoming the embodiment of Order. This left a long legacy of loyal warriors honored him by wielding axes like himself.

The hunting Goddess Evlana was no goddess at all, but rather a brave and highly skilled bow huntress. Long after her demise, the passing of lore transformed her into a deity.”
The Hunter's Hat
Spirit of a handsome archer who dressed in the style of a man. Called the Silent Hunter by some, she fires St. Trina's arrows from her shortbow.

2024.05.13 23:15 oftenfrequently Comparing the HTT strategies for each of the main families

Comparing the HTT strategies for each of the main families
Fair warning, this is gonna be a long one :)
I started working on this for my own purposes because I’m fascinated by the similarities and differences between the HTT styling approaches Kibbe recommends for the different ID families, but then thought it might be helpful to share with the sub. I always see lots of mention of “lines,” but the overall HTT approach for each ID is sometimes (often) oversimplified. Plus all the other very fun elements that make up a HTT are, imo, getting short shrift! There are a few users who have posted amazing full HTTs for their IDs and I'm hoping even more people will be inspired to explore.
So what even is this post?
Basically, I went through the styling directives in Metamorphosis (Chapter 4) for the main families and directly compared the recommendations for the IDs on a number of smaller, more discrete variables because my brain finds it more digestible that way. I only did the main families because “you’re a [insert family here] first and foremost!!” is a thing regardless of your ID ;) And I thought it was more interesting to compare the elements of the pure families without the influence of any other undercurrents. Also it just would have been a lot of work to do all of them 🙃.
A few notes before getting to the good stuff
  • I tried to mostly focus on the words Kibbe uses to evoke feelings rather than specific items, since the book was written in the 80s and clothing is obviously quite different.
  • Some of the things that fall in the middle of a scale have debateable positioning since the middles are sometimes hard to compare (ex. Is a moderate pinstripe more angular or less angular than a soft-edged plaid? My vote was more angular but your vote could be the opposite!) I included all of the language I used to determine placement on the scales so you can make your own call if you want.
  • I disincluded some, ahem, charged descriptors in a few IDs but I don’t think it changes the overall picture painted of what that ID would be looking to channel in their HTTs
This post includes all of the scales I compared the families on in 6 main categories - silhouette, fabric, detail, prints, color, and accessories - plus some keywords that came up for each family that give the overall impression of the HTT. I might make a second part later with key similarities and differences between the approaches for each pair of families, but we'll see! I'm also interested in any discussion here or observations that others might have on the various categories :)
And of course you can always read Metamorphosis for yourself in full here, which I highly recommend!

1. Silhouette

This section is related to the base silhouette of an outfit - the overall shape of garments that make up a HTT and how they relate to one another. For the purposes of this category, I'm defining "ensemble" as the pieces look related or like they were purchased together, which I believe is the sense Kibbe uses it in.
https://preview.redd.it/8earo8fbm70d1.jpg?width=1965&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=40f17625fbfc45cc723b9cc83d447111428d8b02
Shapes
  • D - “keep shapes sharp and geometric. Triangles, rectangles, and everything sculpted, sleek, and elongated, with crisp edges.” “square, sharp shoulders”
  • R - “keep your shapes rounded with soft edges! Circles, ornate swirls, and intricate flowing shapes” “shoulders should be curved”
  • C - “slightly geometric or slightly curved, blend the same shapes together in your look” “slight, crisp shoulder padding”
  • N - “geometric shapes with soft or rounded edges are the key. Rounded-edged rectangles. Soft oblongs, rounded-edged squares, irregular shapes, and soft asymmetrics.” “soft-edged shoulder pads are very good”
  • G - “small, sharp geometrics” “sharp edges and crisp tailoring” “crisp” “sharp edges and extreme tailoring and construction” “sharp shoulder pads”
Outline quality
  • D - “Always straight, with elongated draping that is sleek”
  • R - “your outline should always be soft and flowing” “lots of gentle draping everywhere” “soft fluidity”
  • C - “smooth and symmetrical with the emphasis on controlled and even edges, soft, straight lines, or smoothly curved lines - softly tailored or slightly flowing.”
  • N - “a relaxed, straight line is the outline of your look”
  • G - “sharp, straight, and staccato” “severe lines with sharp edges” “broken, staccato, animated outline. Utilizing many short vertical lines and many short horizontal lines is also effective.”
Closeness of fit
  • D - “always tailored and sculpted” “streamlined shape” “tailored and sleek” “the more tailored the better”
  • R - “showcase the lush curves of your body” “Sleeves should be tapered at the wrist” “waistline should always be emphasized, with soft gathers, folds, draped sashes, and lightweight and supple belts to give a cinched effect” “[Jackets] should be fitted at the waist”
  • C - “very slight draping in constructed garments” “crisp and finished cuffs” “tailored pleats” “narrow and tailored [jackets] with a smooth outline.” “lightweight unconstructed jackets are fine when they are kept sleek and narrow. Blazers, cardigan-style, elongated Chanel (not cropped) are all good choices” “softly tailored”
  • N - “softly tailored, always unconstructed” “Your outline should be fairly narrow and slim, in a loose and easy way.” “Dropped waist detail (loose sashes, overbloused tops, ties, etc) is excellent, as are slightly dropped shoulders.” “Relaxed shapes” “relaxed and easy fit” “dresses should be simple and unconstructed, with a narrow shape and a relaxed outline.”
  • G - “Precision fitted and crisply tailored” “[a] precisely fitted silhouette is crucial to your look” “Sharp and narrow waist definition.” “very fitted” “[skirts] should be very fitted at the waistband” “Pants should always be very sharply tailored with outlined or animated detail at the edges (waistbands, pleats, crisp cuffs).” “Skin tight stretchy pants are excellent” “Very tailored [blouses] with sharp edges and crisp detail (collars, cuffs, pleats, etc.)”
Length of garments
  • D - “Long, vertical lines are essential.” “generally [jackets] should be long (ending at the mid-thigh area), although a very sleek, Italian-style might be cropped (be sure this has an extremely sculpted, streamlined shape)” “straight and long [skirts]” “a long hem” “long cardigans or pullovers”
  • R - "lengths should be kept gracefully long as uneven hemlines (mid-calf), and short as the tapered styles with an even hemline (mid kneecap)" "[for sweaters] short lengths with waist detail"
  • C - “standard length is best [for jackets] (just below break of hip)” “slightly longer jackets are possible when the corresponding skirt is elongated to match.” “moderate length [skirts]”
  • N - “Elongated [jackets] (ending from the upper thigh on down.)” “Moderate length [skirts]” “Very short skirts for fun/funky looks.” “Nearly all styles [of pants] are excellent, from very casual to very dressy… short, cropped, or long.” “Any and all lengths [for sweaters]”
  • G - “Short, cropped [jackets]” “Straight, sharp, and short [skirts]” “A slightly flared hemline [on skirts] may be slightly longer (top of the calf). Anything extremely long is very tricky, and must have a slit and be pencil slim.” “[For pants] Short lengths, anywhere from cropped at the calf to the top of the ankle.” “Short, cropped cardigans” “Short cropped jackets, vests, and boleros work well with dresses for you”
Cohesion
  • D - “keep individual pieces blended together in an artful way for elegance”
  • R - “include an artful blending of plush textures, draped fabrics, and luxurious colors” “avoid any kind of harsh contrast between top and bottom”
  • C - “A clean, unbroken silhouette is your most elegant statement! Think ‘head-to-toe’, and blend everything accordingly.” “Use [separates] carefully and sparingly” “Make sure colors, textures, and prints blend together”
  • N - “Separates are extremely exciting on you, and should make up the bulk of your wardrobe” “you’ll do better with an artful mixture of patterns, textures and colors than you will with an overly matched look” “designer sportswear” “definitely mix n’ match in the most sophisticated sense of the word”
  • G - “A use of well-coordinated separates with lots of animated and colorful detail can be very exciting to your look.”
Some random observations from me about this category
  • N fam has a truly impressive amount of versatility in terms of the length of pieces they're recommended, probably because they're the only family that's really strongly encouraged to go whole hog with a mix and match/separates-forward approach (a superpower tbh).
  • Although the scale of pieces recommended are obviously quite different, the words he uses to describe the shapes for D and G fams are extremely similar. Definitely two families that benefit from an emphasis on crisp sharpness and angularity.
  • I thought it was interesting that he used "softly tailored" in both the C and N fam sections, although the effect they're going for is very different (blended understated elegance vs. relaxed funky easy vibes).
  • He never uses the word "wide" in the N fam section. He does, however, use "narrow" and "loosely tailored" a number of times 😈 No oversized shapeless potato sacks here!

2. Fabric

This category is pretty self-explanatory I hope!
https://preview.redd.it/94e76p19190d1.jpg?width=1976&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=816214030ae525dd16ec2e071426eab1e571c544
Definition
  • D - “fabrics that hold a defined shape are necessary”
  • R - “fabrics that drape easily” “flowing”
  • C - “beautiful, luscious fabrics are an important element in your understated look” “very slight draping in constructed garments.”
  • N - “loose and easy”
  • G - “must always be crisp, able to hold a defined shape, and be tailored easily”
Range of textures (how many different fabrics can they use)
  • D - “Moderate to heavyweights are best, with a matte finish and a smooth surface” “textures should be tightly woven, and shiny fabrics should be very stiff and ultraglitzy”
  • R - “softly woven fabrics” “ultrashiny fabrics” “ultrasoft or plush textures” “sheer fabrics” “any kind of sparkle is excellent”
  • C - “Matte finish or slight sheen.” “Luxurious to the touch” “lightweight textures” “smooth knits” “smooth chiffon and elegantly beaded fabrics for evening.”
  • N - “All soft textures are excellent” “any fabric with a rough or nubby surface” “any wrinkly fabric works well” “all woven fabrics” “knits are excellent in nearly any weight and thickness, from very finely woven to very heavy and rough” “Plush velours, suede, and soft leather are perfect” “drapable fabrics are best kept to heavier weight jerseys.” “A matte finish is far superior to sheen for daytime” “In the evening, you can go very glitzy with hard-finished sheens”
  • G - “a flat surface or light texture is best” “finely woven knits, especially when ribbed and skinny, are good choices.” “matte finish is best, although hard-finished sheens can be very exciting (especially metallics)”
Weight
  • D - “Moderate to heavyweights are best” “occasionally lightweight fabrics can work if they are extra-structured in the design of the garment”
  • R - “lightweight fabrics”
  • C - “moderate weights. Lightweights in very constructed or tailored garments.”
  • N - "knits are excellent in nearly any weight and thickness, from very finely woven to very heavy and rough." “moderate weights are best, although textures can easily be lighter”
  • G - “usually your fabric will be of moderate weight, though lighter weights that hug the body are excellent”
Some random observations from me about this category
  • Again lots of similarities for G and D fam as far as structure and matte finish, although D also has heavier structured wovens while G has fine knits.
  • R fam and N fam get by far the most diverse recommendations as far as fabric and textures go (again a ton of versatility in N fam!). Seems like you really can't go wrong with something sparkly, shiny, glitzy, or plushy if you're in R fam. And for N fam it sounds like you get to mix far more textures into one HTT than everybody else does, which is exciting!
  • I thought the emphasis on flowing for R fam was interesting. It makes total sense - I haven't read too deeply into R since I am clearly not one lol - but for some reason I had flowing associated with N in my mind.
  • I really love the C recommendations myself - "luscious fabrics" just makes me think about burrowing in a cashmere blanket haha. I could definitely picture Grace Kelly as I was reading them.

3. Prints

Also self-explanatory!
https://preview.redd.it/nn24my93490d1.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a8d47c3a4d4d5984b6cac8d9deeccdf7da834c4
Pattern
  • D - “bold and geometric: stripes, zigzags, asymmetrics, and irregular shapes.” “Think Picasso and strive for a contemporary feeling”
  • R - “rich and luscious with the emphasis on an abstract, watercolor blend (think Monet). Swirls of color, flowing together, with soft and rounded edges may be used in abundance.”
  • C - “symmetrical, evenly spaced, and regular or realistic patterns. Understated prints (pin dots, pinstripes, checks, blended plaids, herringbone, symmetrical paisleys, etc.)”
  • N - “casual styles that are soft-edged geometrics (plaids, stripes, paisleys, etc.) and funky prints in irregular shapes (abstract asymmetrics, leaves, animal prints, etc.).”
  • G - “Prints should be sharp, colorful, and animated. Small geometrics and angular asymmetrics are excellent. Most of your prints should be very contemporary in feeling (“Picasso-ish”) although humorous styles that are outlined and caricatured can be quite stunning on you as well.”
Contrast
  • D - “Bold color combinations and high-contrast blends work best”
  • R - “swirls of color, flowing together”
  • C - “Make sure colors, textures, and prints blend together” “understated”
  • N - “generally have a softly blended edge”
  • G - “colorful and animated” “outlined” “contrast”
Scale
  • D - “bold”
  • R - “luxuriously large: oversized florals or feathery shapes are especially lovely”
  • C - “understated”
  • N - “moderate scale to slightly large”
  • G - “small”
Some random observations from me about this category
  • Again lots of similarities for D and G for the type (sharp geometric) and feeling of prints (contemporary/Picasso) with the main difference being large vs. small scale (don't worry, they're about to diverge hardcore 😂)
  • R fam is recommended significantly more abstract and organic prints than everyone else. I also thought it was interesting that both D and R call for larger-scale prints - finally something in common!
  • For C fam it seems like the most important thing is that the prints blend in and are understated rather than drawing attention to themselves.
  • Preferring high contrast and sharp prints vs slightly more blended and soft ones seems like a notable difference between D/G and N fam.

4. Garment Detail

This category is related to the details within the confines of the outline of a garment. So things like necklines, collars, effects like beading and sequins, trim, buttons, etc etc.
https://preview.redd.it/342pwi6y390d1.jpg?width=1971&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64115f1045c7a3cb6d9ac1d6d843754ca943a603
Shape - sharp vs soft
  • D - “angular shapes” “sharp edges” “clean, angular necklines (plunging v’s, skinny turtlenecks, high Mandarins, slashed collars, halters…)” “anything tailored (crisp cuffs, sharp pleats, sharp lapels, etc.)”
  • R - “soft” “[Sleeves can be] very soft and flowing” “lapels should be curved, rounded, or shawl-collared” “gathers, tucks, or bouffant shapes” “any draped, gathered, or shirred touches are wonderful accents”
  • C - “clean, tailored necklines” “crisp and finished cuffs”
  • N - “Any unconstructed or loosely tailored detail works well.” “Simple necklines… are best, and you should concentrate on open necklines for your air of casual chic” “lapels should be tailored, notched, or clean (lapel-less).” “Cuffs should be very plain.”
  • G - “Detail should always be… sharp” “very crisp, staccato, broken up, and multicolored” “lots of crisp trim” “lots of outlining (collars, cuffs, waistbands, lapels) with piping of contrasting colors or fabric, braiding, beads, etc.” “Small, crisp pleats.” “Sharp, angular necklines - also small” “Small, crisp ties (ribbon, leather, etc.)” “Small, tailored lapels or crisp lapel-less with piping.” “Small, crisp cuffs.”
Scale - large vs small
  • D - “bold, sweeping geometrics”
  • R - “oversize bows, flouncy ruffles, and delicate lace are always good choices”
  • C - “[detail] should never call attention to itself”
  • N - “pleats should be soft and deep” “You can use small touches of hand embroidery or rough lace and eyelet for very simple trim.”
  • G - “Detail should always be small” “Small, crisp pleats.” “Sharp, angular necklines - also small” “Small, crisp ties (ribbon, leather, etc.)” “Small, tailored lapels or crisp lapel-less with piping.” “Small, crisp cuffs”
Complexity - clean vs intricate
  • D - “detail should always be clean and minimal”
  • R - “intricate, ornate… with an emphasis on framing your face” “Sleeves should be tapered at the wrist with intricate buttons” “any kind of sparkle is excellent (pearls, sequins, beading, etc.)” “belt buckles should always be intricate” “the more intricate or antique looking your buttons are the better” “ornate detail” “ornate necklines”
  • C - “clean, simple, and minimal - just enough to add an elegantly understated touch.” “never call attention to itself” “clean lines” “minimal detail” “minimum of detail”
  • N - “detail should be kept minimal. Plain and simple is best for you.” “gathers should be minimal” “simple tailored styles with minimal detail” “Simple shapes with easy fits” “Minimal detail”
  • G - “an overabundance of detail” “You can never wear too much detail! An abundance of it and everywhere in your look is one of the most effective tools you have for capturing your animated effervescence!” “Detail should always… call attention to itself (not blend into the lines of your garments)” “lots of animated and colorful detail” “Collar, cuff, lapel, and waistband detail (outlining, trim, piping, ribbing) are essential”
Some random observations from me about this category
  • A very stark divide here between the families that lean minimal/clean (C, N, D) and the families that lean complex (R, G)!
  • Even though R and G both call for a lot of detail, G fam seems to like it literally everywhere (but especially at the edges) while R focuses on framing the face. Another difference between them is that G detail is high contrast, sharp, and colorful while R fam's detail tends to the ornate, flowing, intricate, and sparkly - very different shapes I think.
  • Finally a category where N fam is not running away with the versatility haha - it seems like a more minimal and clean approach to detail really helps them shine.

5. Color

Y'all know what colors are :)
https://preview.redd.it/5he7hmfk790d1.jpg?width=1949&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc59971dc9518bfbd276300feccba5838f4d7971
Number
  • D - “Always think ‘head-to-toe’ with your color schemes” “All monochromatic schemes are excellent”
  • R - “include an artful blending of… luxurious colors”
  • C - “Make sure colors, textures, and prints blend together” “monochromatic schemes are excellent, although you do not need to be limited to just one or two colors.”
  • N - “Color is an area in which you should have lots of fun! Strive for zip, verve, and lots of pizzazz with bolds, brights, pastels, vivids, and wild color combinations - anything imaginative.” “Break all the rules when it comes to color! Mix ‘n match with ease.”
  • G - “lots of animated and colorful detail can be very exciting to your look” “Your use of color should be bold and sassy; break all the rules here! Multicolored splashes are perfect. Bright and shockingly colored accessories played against a dark or light background. High, sharp contrast and wild color combinations are all very chic on you. Break your line with color!”
Effect
  • D - “color combination should be bold but elegant. Combining bright shades with dark shades achieves this with ease.”
  • R - “should emphasize a watercolor palette of soft pastels and luscious brights.” “rich, luxuriously blended colors” “pale neutrals… are your best accents”
  • C - “accentuate your smoothly blended visual outline. This means that a mixture of colors in an outfit should blend together in intensity so as not to disrupt your clean and smooth silhouette.” “The key is to make sure the tones (intensities) blend, instead of contrasting.”
  • N - “Strive for zip, verve, and lots of pizzazz with bolds, brights, pastels, vivids, and wild color combinations - anything imaginative. Neutrals work well when they are used in beautifully textured fabrics… but you will feel a little dull without a few bright accents, either in accessories or jewelry.” “Colors can be very wild and unusual if you wish, or more muted and earthy-looking”
  • G - “bold and sassy” “Multicolored splashes” “Bright and shockingly colored accessories played against a dark or light background.” “High, sharp contrast and wild color combinations”
Some random observations from me about this category
  • It's been said before but D fam's inability to do anything but monochrome has been greatly exaggerated. Outfits can have high contrast colors as long as they still read bold and sleek!
  • I found it interesting that both C fam and R fam call for a blended effect.
  • Color seems like a key category to focus on for both N fam and G fam - bold color kings/queens 👑

6. Accessories

The category for everything else - bags, hats, shoes, jewelry, belts, etc etc.
https://preview.redd.it/ek7fu7oz790d1.jpg?width=1923&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c24f3db63656cef4a8da916665ba0f19893cc86
Scale
  • D - “Belts should be bold and wide” “Metal belts will be sculpted and quite large.” “[Hats should have] wide brims” “[Jewelry should have] an emphasis on bold, modern shapes.” “[For jewelry,] Pieces should be large but not overly bulky.”
  • R - “The effect may be lavish, but the workmanship should be intricate and delicate.” “delicate [shoes]” “[For bags,] Delicate shoulder straps. Elegantly slim briefcases.” “Jewelry should always be delicate and lavish, with intricate and ornate touches. Rounded shapes, curves, swirls, and lots of dangles”
  • C - “slender pumps” “narrow heels” “moderate size [bags]” “slim and elegant” “keep [belts] elegant, slim, and narrow with small smooth buckles” “small and crisp [hats] with even brims” “Small [jewelry]”
  • N - “moderate-sized [bags]” “Jewelry should be kept on the chunky side” “It is possible to get away with very minimal chains, tiny diamond studs, etc., but chances are you won’t be satisfied with this once you experiment with a zippier look!”
  • G - “All accessories should be small, crisp, geometric, and colorful” “Small, crisp geometrics [for bags]” “[Belts] may be narrow to moderately wide.” “Small, crisply tailored hats.” “Jewelry should be small and sharp.”
Shape
  • D - “All accessories should be crisp, sharply tailored, and angular with geometric shapes. Keep everything sleek and contemporary in feeling.” “High, straight heels, crisp soles, and elegantly tapering toes.” “Angular envelopes, clutches, or structured briefcases.” “[For jewelry,] thin sharp pieces are good choices, as are avant-garde works of art.”
  • R - “softly sophisticated.” “[Shoes of] Lightweight and supple leather.” “[For bags,] small, rounded shapes. Soft, supple leather or fabric.” [For belts,] soft and supple leather or fabric.” “Soft, curvy [hats]” “Large, fluffy fur hats.”
  • C - “elegant scarves in symmetrical ties” “tapered toes” “elegant leather” “softly tailored flats” “crisply tailored [bags]” “supple leather [bags]” “tailored, symmetrical shape[d hats]” “Keep your jewelry elegant, smooth, and symmetrical” “Small, slightly geometric shapes [in jewelry] are good, as are smoothly curved swirls.”
  • N - “Unconstructed styles with soft or rounded-edged geometric shapes are most effective.” “high heels should be very angular and straight, not tapered” “unconstructed pouches” “Simple geometrics in supple leather” “softly geometric [belts]” “unconstructed [hats]. Large, loose, and floppy. Shaggy-haired fur.” “Soft or rounded-edged geometrics [for jewelry]”
  • G - “All accessories should be small, crisp, geometric, and colorful” “tailored and angular [shoes] in lightweight leather. Unusual shapes in toes and heels are excellent (asymmetrics, wedges, sharp points, etc.) as are bold colors and printed fabric.” “Small, crisp geometrics [for bags]” “Stiff leather [belts] with geometric buckles.” “Jewelry should be small and sharp and in geometric, asymmetrical, or irregular shapes.”
Detail
  • D - “sleek & elegant”
  • R - “ornate” “strappy, slender-heeled [shoes] with tapered or open toes” “[Flats] with ornamentation” “[For bags,] Ornamentation or luxurious detail (beads, gathers, trim).” “[For belts,] All beaded, bejeweled, or sparkly styles are excellent.” “belts are a focal point, and should be selected as carefully as a fine piece of jewelry” “Jewelry should always be delicate and lavish, with intricate and ornate touches. Rounded shapes, curves, swirls, and lots of dangles… sparkly materials are essential… and an antique, baroque, or rococo effect is desirable.”
  • C - “simple, clean, and elegant” “Be careful not to overdo! Go elegant instead of extreme.”
  • N - “Accessories should be kept minimal; plain and simple is your best look here” “evening sandals should be very bare, not strappy” “belts should be simple” “[For jewelry, think] “wearable art”... or it can be bright and funky costume pieces that add pizzazz! Earthy materials are very elegant and sophisticated on you (copper, silver, amber, turquoise, etc.). Hard-finished enamels and glass are fun, especially when used in bold colors for vivid accents”
  • G - “[Accessories] should call attention to themselves as detail” “Contrast is being strived for with your use of accessories, as well as bringing out your wit and a sense of fun.” “[For shoes] bold colors and printed fabric. Flats of all kinds should always be funky and fun (patent leather, trimmed, etc.)” “Brightly colored belts are excellent aids in breaking your line.” “[For jewelry] Brightly colored enamel, stone, or glass are best. Very contemporary avant-garde pieces are excellent on you, as are trendy pieces that accentuate your wit.”
Some random observations from me about this category
  • In keeping with the general themes, D fam again shines more with much bolder or larger scale accessories than everyone else, although they don't need a ton of detail within them. The overall shape seems to do most of the heavy lifting.
  • In contrast, G fam and R fam once again call for a lot of detail within their accessories. They also get the most fun-sounding shoes (to me, a magpie).
  • And again N, C, and D have the cleaner strategies for accessories, although N does have a more G-like approach recommended for fun colorful jewelry.

7. In closing, some keywords

Picked out from the sections for each main family. I find these helpful to kind of paint a word picture of the overall vibe each family is recommended to go for.

  • N - geometric, soft, rounded edges, irregular, asymmetric, relaxed, straight, softly tailored, unconstructed, narrow, slim, loose, easy, textured, plush, matte, minimal, plain, simple, open, casual, chic, separates, mix and match, pattern, color, sophisticated, easy, elongated, short, zip, verve, pizzazz, bold, bright, pastel, vivid, wild, imaginative, funky, blended, chunky, elegant, tousled, free, fresh-faced, glowing, radiant, healthy

Phew! You made it to the end. Hopefully it was helpful, or gave you some ideas of smaller, more approachable categories to explore for HTTs. If not, at least it was a great exercise for my own weird brain processing lol. Feel free to drop any observations/thoughts you might have in the comments, I'm curious what everyone else sees or thinks is notable or interesting!

2024.05.13 23:10 PumpkinsVenue Parallels between Elden Ring and Dark Souls 2 according to fans - the gods

I've compiled a list of parallels that fans have drawn between Elden Ring and Dark Souls 2, along with brief commentaries and illustrations on the patterns they may have observed.
https://preview.redd.it/9mu9ob1ee90d1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=057574020575dd9701d7df7a5cdc86bee8401f8f

Name-Engraved ring
"There are countless vestiges of long-lost gods in the ruins of Drangleic. Or perhaps they are the very same gods as ours, only known by different names."
I’ve seen people make comparison with the deities mentioned on the Name-engraved Ring list. (although the one they made about Ranni didn’t make sense to me and seem to be more relevant to the Gloam-Eyed Queen if anything).
https://preview.redd.it/serj2lx6e90d1.png?width=1640&format=png&auto=webp&s=51d71268bca135848931a26c5b02e958c296cb09
Miquella shares similarities with Quella, as both are associated with ethereal, dream-like entities like the Nascent Butterfly and White Ring,
Quella’s icon also depicts a boy with wings, which something similar we see Miquella have during Elden Ring’s intro cut scene.
https://preview.redd.it/icccb0b5e90d1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=5332b149b3d0e09eacd1c5559644d553d7a2058a
Hanleth is the goddess of bliss.

Godwyn the Golden from Elden Ring and the God of Sun from Dark Souls 2 were revered for their mastery of lightning and their incantations, such as Lightning Spear, Dragonbolt Blessing, and Sacred Oath. Additionally, Godwyn's victory of the ancient dragon Fortissax and his subsequent friendship with the fallen foe gave rise to the ancient dragon cult in the capital, much like the God of Sun's connection with the Blinding Bolt that was forbidden so to protect the world from hatred, or sorrow, and the ancient clan) whose leader was revered as the deity.

Leydia apostles manipulated both the onset and curing of disease but were denied peaceful deaths, while Malenia's rot was an incurable sickness (as her army are undergoing their gradual, putrefaction of their flesh) that Miquella tried to ward off with unalloyed gold needles and her great rune provides healing after receiving damage.

2024.05.13 22:54 TartOk3387 Find this hat (or a good lookalike?)

I'm wondering if people can help me identify this hat, I sadly lost it and am trying to find a good replacement.
It's not quite a tweed "flat cap", it was lighter than that and doesn't have the fabric folded on top of the brim.
The pattern isn't quite plaid, it's more a kind of diamond/argyle thing.
I'm 99% sure the brand was "San Fransisco Hat Co" but I haven't been able to find anything like that on their website.

2024.05.13 22:12 dlschindler Ruins of Rhema

"Children learn to correlate consequences with their own actions. This is true of all of us, no matter what species we are. Adulthood is universally defined by maturity, and maturity is defined by nature as appropriate behavior to ensure your species' survival. If we apply this wisdom to the stage of evolution of a species, the culture and conservative capacity of intelligent creatures, then we can see it on that scale also. A species is like a child while they liberally explore their surroundings, learning the best behavior by trying everything, through the Trial of Errors. Then they mature and adopt appropriate behavior, avoiding doing things that work against their species, as individuals and as a whole. We can apply this pattern to the history of all alien races among us here today. This also includes the humans. I testify to this, as one who remains traveling alongside them and seeing each era of their ascended history. As the representative of the will of the Frendsikeel, as attorney to the cause of human endeavors and as their one follower in this galaxy, I say the humans are very cool." The alien sea otter with the boney shells covering her body spoke somehow in a human voice, having perfected the use of her translator so that it was indistinguishable from human speech.
There was applause among the limited audience of aliens at the application hearing for membership, each in their own way of signaling immediate approval. If the Cave Gods agreed, the Combine would be added to the councils of the Cave Gods And Friends Association. It was the dawn of a new and wonderful age for the humans.
The alien attorney visibly shuddered as an equally smoothly articulated translation started, and in a voice all-too-familiar. Osowl Fitten, Attorney-to-the-Humans, heard her nemesis from across the vast distances of both space and time. She was the Sunder representative, Supreme Prosecutor (of the humans) Eshka Layenna. The reptilian alien slithered out with a stylized collar to hide her frill and colorful paint on her face to look more appealing to the human eye. Indeed, the humans felt their eyes drawn to the masterful and ancient alien, who specialized in charm and glamor.
"Beautiful denizens of Rhema, world of art and music, esteemed guru, priests and patrons of the arts, lend to me your native attention. I will speak for you, and worry not what decision is made behind my back, by our wise leaders, the benevolent Cave Gods. They have heard the song of human laughter, recognized the absolution of human mistakes, graced the humans with thousands of years of benefits and gifts simply because they admire the beauty of the human soul. Is beauty not important? I would not stand in the way of beauty. We all know it is the first component of harmony, and we all know harmony is the first component of peace and we also know that peacefulness is necessary for love. And what meaning is there, that is greater than love?" Eshka Layenna spoke with passion in her human sounding voice, translated from a skillful use of her own vowels in order to inflect such sincere emotion. The attorney for the humans worried, for she had sparred with this particular individual alien half a dozen times throughout the centuries, and clearly they were both on the same course through the stars, sleeping for decades at a time in order to extend the usefulness of their respective careers.
The prosecutor skillfully explained that humans were beautiful in the ears of the blind leadership who had overlooked the capacity that humans had for, in their own word: violence.
Osowl Fitten sat quiet during her turn to speak in rebuttal. She could not quickly speak without thinking, it was not the way of her species and she was especially slow to decide what she wanted to say. In the silence one of the humans coughed expectantly, it was meant to prompt her, and she knew so. It was in all things, their little violences, and she had started to find it beautiful.
"Violence is the appropriate behavior when humans utilize it. They are equally capable of restraint and sometimes their violence is directed purely against the storm. Humans respond to all violence, they endure it and survive, they fight back, they commit violence for gain, even sometimes because they want to commit violence, with no further motivation. The Sunder administration has long sought to prosecute the humans because of this, and they are here today, to do this. I approve of this because it is the appropriate behavior. I would like to point out that the Sunder have invented many consequences to inflict on humans, and I must point out that to the human, those are called weapons and the Sunder have become hypocrites. On this day the Sunder are here to prevent the humans from becoming their equal, which is the appropriate behavior for the Sunder, because they anticipate that humans are dangerous, a known threat. They would list off all the times they have tried to blame humans for tragic events, or simply point out that humans were involved in a disproportionate amount of such tragic events, at the very least. And yes, humans are dangerous. Does not each new member bring a gift to the association? The Blue Light Watchers brought the gift of honest music, such as nobody had ever heard. Who among us was not moved by their music? The humans have brought a gift, and I foresee, the Dream Time, that this gift shall prove to be the greatest gift of all."
"What gift would that be?" Eshka Layenna spoke out of turn, amid gasps and gestures of outrageous surprise. Osowl refused to engage her opponent informally and ceased speaking until the Cave Gods had politely reminded the respected and venerable serpent of the absolute procedure of the courtroom, and begged her to behave appropriately. Then Osowl spoke, carefully avoiding addressing the question, while answering it anyway:
"When the Dream Time goes into darkness, and the galaxy can be crossed in an instant by the mere thought of terror, and there is no trade besides violence with this spreading nightmare from outside, that is when the greatest gift of all shall shine upon the threshold." Osowl Fitten turned off her translator and captions and spoke only in her own language. For a moment the court felt confused by this deliberate action, before the significance of it began to sink in. Even the scarred and brutal human Admiral Jinar they had allowed into the proceedings looked deeply moved, her eyes watering, as though she personally understood both the words and the power behind them.
"I have no further arguments, Wise Ones. The prosecution rests." Eshka Layenna said with strange reverence, abandoning her entire cause suddenly.
"This then, is the final enactment of all our discussions, and there are no further actors. Let the humans say then, what is decided here today." The Cave Gods spoke in rehearsed unison.
The humans cheered. They had just become members of the Cave Gods And Friends Association, and the humans were now officially equal to all the coolest aliens throughout the galaxy.
When the courtroom had emptied there were still two creatures sitting there. Osowl Fitten stared for a moment at the human, gradually recognizing her.
"You are Jinar. How so? Humans do not use Star Sleep or live such profoundly long life spans. But I am sure, somehow you are she." Osowl Fitten said at last.
"I am now Admiral Jinar, of the Combine Unified Forces. We are currently disbanded, but I still think they are coming, and we should be preparing for them. Now that we have a say in things, I'd like to get started on that." Admiral Jinar told Osowl Fitten, coldly speaking business.
"Are you not pleased that humans are now recognized as equals to the Cave Gods themselves? In the association, all species have an equal vote." Osowl Fitten twitched her whiskers in a personal greeting, hoping to see Jinar's mood change.
Jinar relaxed and smiled just a little bit. Somehow sitting there trying to interpret the whisker twitches of the Frendsikeel made her feel like a little girl again. It was just a moment, but it reminded her of her own resolve of character. She had felt a kind of personal hell for most of her life, regretting something she had done while she was very young, but worried it somehow defined her. When she had defeated the scout, something had changed, she had realized she was merely playing a role, and the universe was calling the shots.
"Maybe it was better to have gods. The thought that we are responsible for the course is somehow terrifying." Jinar said in plain, soldier-like way of speaking.
"This is humor." Osowl gestured that she found it mildly amusing.
"Do you think they are out there? You're my attorney, I kinda care what you think." Jinar grinned a little, realizing she could communicate very easily with the alien. It was like Osowl just understood everything. It was reassuring to be fully understood and also approved of at the same time.
"It is not a coincidence that I chose this world for Summoning. Allow me to show you what inspires so much art, why this world is a melting pot of artists from seven alien species who all come here for inspiration." Osowl Fitten paused and found a small box held for her by a servo.
"What is it?" Jinar wondered.
"It is a gift." Osowl seemed perplexed. She was trying to assess the correct way to receive such a gift. It was meant as a statement of many different meanings, what was known as a cruciform. Osowl realized it was in the form of clothing, a colorful sash. She wrapped it over one shoulder, wearing it as a kind of toga.
"What for?" Jinar asked.
"It is complicated. I will wear this, to show my admiration and to accept the insult. It is a sign of deep friendship, but one forged through a necessary rivalry, for we are not without the other. My opponent, perhaps she says farewell."
"No, she says she wishes to be your companion still - to continue to argue with you. We shall Star Sleep beside each other and visit the same places. I do not want to be alone and I do not want this to end. It is what is best for each. Ave." The Sunder spoke from the shaded curtains, slithering out dramatically.
"I accept this. I would not wish to be without you. I understand the duality of our arguments the same way you do. Come with me, and we shall visit distant stars and foreign worlds." Osowl Fitten said without hesitation.
From there, the three women went to the attraction of Rhema that Osowl had chosen as a backdrop for the human inclusion in the association.
"Of this moment, we suspend ourselves, for the brace, my dears." Osowl hissed in Sunder and made her new friend laugh with an emote.
Eshka Layenna stopped and suddenly slithered around Jinar with serpentine swiftness. "Is she with us, equal one?" In plain English, another idiom but this as a joke of some kind by Eshka Layenna. She donned a purple garland and wrapped part of it gently around Jinar, the exact movement dancelike and affectionate. She flicked out her snake tongue absently in her self-satisfaction and then turned and wrapped part of the boa around Osowl, who groaned in mock reluctance to the amicable game.
"So we walk together?" Jinar asked.
"Precisely. Unless there is a place we must do something else?" Eshka gestured to the colonial canteen.
"They serve alcohol here?" Jinar felt no resistance as she walked towards the bar with her old lady alien friends in tow, the fragile feathered tether wrapped loosely around all of them.
"Drinks. You may take your toxic beverage." Osowl complained.
"I insist. I know you got something you'll imbibe." Jinar grinned.
At the bar the servo identified them and guessed they wanted alcohol. Osowl was served a thimble of it and a proper shotglass with the colonial guard stamp half scratched off of it was put down for the lady in uniform.
"That's pretty strong. Can I have more?"
"No." The servo said, and took the shotglass and wiped it out with a wash towel.
"Actually, I'm good. That's a pretty nice buzz." Jinar grinned.
"It is precise, madam." The servo said with a little bit of an attitude.
"I'll have mine - not." Osowl said.
"Is that right, are you afraid you'll seem ridiculous? I assure you your friends won't notice your inability to change your eye color while intoxicated. If it helps, you can wear a mood medallion. Would her Gentleness wish her mood medallion?" The servo had split personalities, and was suddenly all cool while talking to Osowl.
"Very much so, Jehosephet." Osowl accepted the medallion with a quickness that conveyed a gleeful shift in her feelings about the bar. Once her medallion was worn and shining, looking exactly like flax colored eyes, she gladly accepted the drink with no further inhibitions. She took the thimble and insufflated it and exhaled what sounded like a drunken wheezing.
"You party hard." Jinar complimented Osowl.
"Yes, this is the celebration I am in for." Osowl seemed to be gagging in her translator and took it off to fumble with the delicate settings.
Jinar laughed, noting that her eyes were flaxen with tints of green and yellow while her medallion showed bright red frustration and embarrassment.
"I cannot drink alcohol, so I shall wear the hat." Eshka Layenna leaned on the bar and the servo placed a massive crown of supreme derpiness on her, some kind of cartoon creature vaguely resembling a Sunder. It looked insane. Jinar laughed so hard she fell over and landed on her butt.
"Okay, so now that none of us may have her pride before the others, now what?" Osowl sounded normal, but her medallion was a glimmering pink, showing she was aware she was being deceptive in some way, as her voice betrayed none of her sloppiness in communicating. It somehow made her seem more hilarious to Jinar, as she could tell Osowl was drunk.
"I am worried that if we stay we'll be seen this way by those who admire and respect us and it will somehow diminish our reputations." Eshka Layenna stated.
"That's part of the fun. But anyhow, we're on a mission. Let's go to this place." Jinar agreed.
"I am afraid our jovial antics won't last beyond the threshold." Osowl cringed as she realized she had spoke a word that meant the same as Threshold, the prophecy of her people.
"What's the matter?" Jinar's voice drained of laughter and she adopted gradual concern, as Osowl hesitated to answer.
"Let us go first, and bid this moment to memory." Osowl insisted.
They departed, leaving their festive garments behind.
There was no landscape to explore, but rather spires of habitats above radiated pools of slag. They flew in a saucer, hovering at different speeds and angles against the natural gravity of Rhema. After a while the saucer had found a break in the low gray-orange clouds that obscured the world below the observational habitats.
"What is the significance of this wasteland?" Jinar asked slowly, not really wanting to hear the answer - already knowing what such an answer would be. The rhetorical nature of her voice was greeted by merciful silence.
The three sisters, each from a distant corner of the galaxy, born in different ages, and different species, stared out at the desolation and they each recognized the same measure of it, for it was the limit of suffering.
Osowl knew her friends understood. She herself had adjusted to her existence, the last of her people. It still hurt to come home.

2024.05.13 21:46 BAPyogi Can stitch markers cause ladders? And other beginner Qs.

Hi I am a new knitter, working on my 3rd pair of socks. I have been dealing with ladders and have made adjustments accordingly (switching from 2 cable needles to 9 inch shorties has helped so much!) but I have noticed that when using stitch markers, they can cause a little bit of laddering. Is this a thing or not really? Does this mean I’m a tight knitter?
Another question - I want to make a hat and I have a yarn from my stash in mind. The pattern calls for DK weight and I have fingering. I’ve heard you can mix two yarns together to get to the bigger weight, what can I add to the fingering to make it DK weight? Or any other tips for what yarn would be good to mix with the fingering that looks nice but not itchy on the forehead?
And last question - I want to make my first sweater, I am comfortable with increasing and decreasing, short rows, German short rows, Kitchener stitch, etc. I would say I am a motivated and ambitious beginner not afraid of a challenge, and I have support in person if necessary for mistakes etc. So I feel confident in making my first sweater and I love PetiteKnit on Ravelry. If anyone is familiar with the Petiteknit patterns, the ones I’m interested in are the cumulus blouse, marble sweater, louvre sweater, or Wednesday sweater. If anyone has any input on which of these would be a better fit for a first sweater I would really appreciate it!
Thank you for taking the time to read this and help a newbie with her new hobby!

Humans are Weird – Introductions

Original Post: http://www.authorbettyadams.com/bettys-blog/humans-are-weird-introduction6192077
Stck’ck carefully burrowed his paws down through the fine mass of hairs that covered Human Friend Giovanni’s head. Stck’ck wriggled his claws thoughtfully, it seemed that there might be less hair density than there had been when they had first met. He should bring that up at their next social meal. Stck’ck glanced down at the readout on his datapad. The thermal coils in this area were showing the inexplicable wear, just as they suspected. He clicked his chelicerae together and went to pull up the long term thermal flow data, but the screen did not respond for several long moments and Stck’ck gave an annoyed click before prodding Human Friend Giovanni’s scalp with a paw. The soft material over him lifted and let in a wash of cold air.
“What’cha need Sticks?” Human Friend Giovanni called out, a bit too loudly in the dense air.
“I need to be closer to the main data signal,” Stck’ck called out. “The thermal coils are very much over working but I can’t see a pattern in the pause.”
“Back to the signal! Gotcha!” Human Friend Giovanni and Stck’ck’s perch swayed as the human angled towards the corner of the sublevel where the data signal was known to be strongest.
Human Friend Giovanni dropped his cranial covering, his hat, back to its original position and Stck’ck pushed it back up to a comfortable height that gave him room to stand but didn’t let the cold air in. They reached the corner as indicated by his datapad chirping happily as it picked up the signal. Stck’ck quickly downloaded the needed data. However before he could finalize it he felt Human Friend Giovanni turn and rumble out a greeting to what must be another approaching human.
Stck’ck heaved a sigh of just barely warmed air through his lung and pressed one paw over his main eyes. Under his paws he felt the flexible skin on Human Friend Giovanni’s face wrinkle with a delighted smile. It must be a human who had not seen the performance yet. His perch swayed as Human Friend Giovanni crouched. From experience (and from observing surveillance recordings after similar previous events) Stck’ck knew that Human Friend Giovanni was holding his hands out in front of him in what might be considered a semi-threatening posture towards the other human. Human Friend Giovanni spoke, his tones dramatically changed with both mischievous delight and what Stck’ck was told was a vocal impersonation of some famous human entertainer. Stck’ck braced himself for the cold and dutifully lifted one paw in greeting as was his part in this little charade. He carefully braced his datapad that was still downloading the data.
“Say hello to my little friend!”Human Friend Giovanni declared, sweeping the hat up and off his head, revealing Stck’ck to the startled and mildly uneasy looking human.
“Hello,” Stck’ck said waving his raised paw dutifully.
The other human’s look changed from perplexed to delighted and she, it looked kind of like the new nutritional lead, laughed. She raised her hand and waved at Stck’ck.
“Hello!” She said.
Stck’ck reached up and pulled down on the hat that was poised just above him losing all the precious heat with a tap of a paw at Human Friend Giovanni’s scalp. Human Friend Giovanni laughed and dropped the hat back down to its resting position and Stck’ck resumed perusing the data.

2024.05.13 20:34 Entire_Cupcake_8656 One Therapist's Point Of View On Liking Clients and Money

I see a lot of posts on here about whether or not therapists care about their clients or like their clients “really.” I also see posts about paying for the therapy service. I have been a therapist for 10 years and I will share my honest personal experience.
Liking A Client
I really can’t think of a client on my current roster I don’t “like” because I’m truly not thinking like that. The neutrality that people find annoying about therapists can be genuine. I have clients ask me questions like “Do you think I’m crazy/selfish/annoying?” and I have to take a step back in those moments. Not because I am afraid to say yes, but because I am not thinking like that while I have my therapist hat on. I am not judging things as good or bad, I am trying to understand the why. My job in the session is to be curious and judgement kills curiosity. I am thinking “Hmm I just made a suggestion and I sense some resistance here, how can I explore that resistance?” Not “Oh this client is being annoying because they are resisting me.”
I don’t know how to explain it fully, but the vast vast majority of the time I don’t like or dislike a client. There will be that rare client that slips through my screening process that I don’t feel like I understand and that is frustrating. Like everything I say to check for understanding they will say no to. Ex. “So it seems like you are frustrated at your mom?” Client: “I’m not frustrated at my mom I just wish she would…” This is hard because I really try to understand, but I wouldn’t say I dislike this person. I just feel like we don’t get very far.
Do I Care About My Clients?
It’s hard to explain how you can so fully connect and be immersed in someone’s life for one hour a week. It’s hard to explain how you can care so deeply and yet let them go over and over again after every session. Sometimes I think about my clients during the rest of the week and sometimes I don’t, but it doesn’t define if I care for them or not. You learn early on it doesn’t do any good worrying about your clients in your off time. It doesn’t help them or you. I want to be present in my own life when I’m not working. That doesn’t mean I don’t care for or love my clients.
The best analogy I can come up with is that working with a client is like going to their house. I enter their world, with it’s own logic and rules for an hour. In this house you put your coffee mug here, take your shoes off, etc. Every house is different, but I never confuse them, once inside I remember everything. The client has many different rooms we explore in their house. With some clients, I feel like I know every nook and cranny of their house, though I’m sure that’s not true. I can’t know everything. I like stepping into someone’s world/house. It’s interesting, just like walking around someone’s actual home.
Occasionally, I will see that a client has the same rug/towels/fridge as me. I can point this out to the client if I believe it will be helpful, but the client will never go into my home to see my rug. I can only tell them the rugs are the same in a general way. I can tell them this is how I care for my rug, but they will never see me vacuuming. This feels very safe to me. I get to bring my authentic self to session, but I don’t have to show my house, my layout, my struggles. In my personal relationships people come into my home and dirty the place up. I am affected by the behaviors and choices of those in my personal life. I’m not saying that client’s can’t hurt me, they have. It’s just easier to process that hurt because our lives aren’t intertwined. Our selves are intertwined, but not our lives. Being a therapist is a huge responsibility because I know what I say and do can have great effect, but also my clients will never be annoyed with me because I don’t do the dishes before I go to bed. And that’s nice. I would encourage anyone struggling with feeling close to their therapist, but feeling pained the relationship can’t be “more” (more time, friendship, more love from the therapist) to consider how nice it is not to know all the things about your therapist that would annoy the shit out of you :)
Building A Relationship From Nothing
Sometimes in the first or second session I don’t yet understand a client or I don’t feel like they are being genuine with me, so I don’t care about them on a deeper level. I’m just being professional at that point. But pretty much with every client by the 4th or 5th session I’m able to feel like I understand them enough and have developed a deep compassion for them. Sometimes because I can see how hard they are trying, but how scared they are to be in therapy, how much they want change for themselves. If you’ve come to 5 sessions you are generally trying. People who don’t want to put in work drop off after one or two sessions.
I genuinely admire and feel awe towards the vast majority of my clients. It is amazing to see what people survive and how they want to do better for themselves or their loved ones than what they were given. I feel such compassion for their struggles. I feel such love for them. We see a very different side of people, a vulnerable side of people, and when you see that hurt child inside you can’t feel anything but sympathy.
Some clients have really rough exteriors. They’ve never told another person how they feel in an unguarded manner, so it’s awkward or they avoid it or it seems like they hate therapy. In the beginning of my career this was hard to tolerate. I hated those sessions because I felt so uncomfortable. Now, I can honestly say it doesn’t bother me. I know my job in those sessions and I do it, unattached to the outcome of them opening up. Why? Because I know what I can control and what I can’t. Most of the time those clients open up eventually and it’s very rewarding work. Some of the time they don’t make progress either because I’m not the right therapist for them or they aren’t ready yet. And I can honestly say that’s okay. I just had a termination session with a client last week who wanted to place the blame on his external circumstance rather than look at his beliefs and patterns. After months of trying and exploration, I genuinely wish that person well and release them.
Money
I see clients through a group private practice and make a set rate per client hour. I never try to get a client to schedule more sessions for money and if a client cancels I never feel upset losing that money individually. I’ve been a therapist long enough to know that no matter what people will cancel and I take on more clients than I need to to cover the weeks when I have cancellations or it’s slow getting new clients. How often do I think about my clients paying me? Literally never unless they bring it up. I think about it as a cluster. Like I have about 30 clients (some are every other week or monthly). The cluster pays me. I never think about an individual paying me. This may be because I don’t actually charge the clients, my group practice does. I like this because I need to make money, but money really isn’t a consideration in my treatment. I think clients think about the money much more than the therapists do.
I hope any of this was helpful!

2024.05.13 20:17 kit0000033 I got a yarn box today!

I got a yarn box today!
Box is by Hooks & Needles. They have both knitting and crochet boxes.
This first box came with three 50g skeins of 100% cotton that feels really nice (the pastels in the picture). The booklet has three patterns of varying levels of difficulty that say they use up that amount of yarn. It also included a fat quarter of complementary fabric, because one of the pattern options was the front of a pillow. Came with bamboo needles to do the patterns in the book
I signed up for an extra two balls of yarn per month. Thinking that it would be the same yarn as in the box (which has been my experience with boxes in the past). But no. Two entirely separate balls of 100% wool (the tan in the picture). Its fairly soft and nice and squishy. I don't know what I'll be doing with that. Maybe save up the extra balls each month to do a scrappy project with. Or a hat.
Extras in the box were two buttons and a little canister of tea. Which smelled divine and is already steeping.

2024.05.13 20:09 D3viled3gg Part 2 - Jimmi in His Single Era: Alicia Samaan, Ellen Hancock and Kyra Gardner (again)

Part 2 - Jimmi in His Single Era: Alicia Samaan, Ellen Hancock and Kyra Gardner (again)
March 2023(?)- August 2023
The posts involving Alicia get the most traffic on this subreddit, which is hilarious to me. If you were all wondering where she fits into this messy timeline, it is here.
I think Jimmi and Kyra Gardner break up around this time because Jimmi is seen out and about with Alicia Samaan at the premiere for Fools Paradise. Jimmi and Alicia appear to have met on the set of Dark Matter, which filmed in Chicago around this time. Alicia was on set as a casting agent(?), which is a nice departure from her days in the Bad Girls Club. I won't include the screenshots here but here is a link to our most popular post that has pictures from that event.
I want to avoid a copyright strike, so here is a video from Getty Images from that night.
https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/video/jimmi-simpson-and-guest-attend-the-los-angeles-red-carpet-news-footage/1488752176?adppopup=true
I don't have any screenshots of this happening but at some point during this time he followed Tiffany Fong, an internet crypto journalist partially responsible for the downfall of Sam Bankman-Fried.
Jimmi is then seen with Ellen Hancock at a SAG-AFTRA picket(idk what the right word is protest maybe?). Ellen is best known for her acting on The Mandalorian and her modeling as a Playboy bunny. They appeared to be at the strike together, with her being in every photo that he was in on that day. Oddly enough, they no longer follow each other. I wonder what happened there?
I just love her big floppy hat and iced coffee combo here. She looks cute!
He is later seen at another SAG picket/protest with Justine Lupe (a former co-star and friend of his), who went to some lengths to disguise herself.
Come on Getty Images, did you really not recognize Willa from Succession here?
Note: Notice how he removes his hat in the photos - (imo) he wanted to be seen/recognized protesting. Justine was wearing a hat and was not recognized by Getty Images, despite being more high profile recently due to her role on the show Succession.
Also, I am noticing a pattern of him dating people he sees in his daily routine and co-workers, most of whom have less power than him. Assistants/crew/writers and less famous actors mostly (just a theory, don't shoot the messenger).
September 2023 - October 2023
Jimmi leaves this comment on one of Kyra Gardner’s posts. This was a music video for Kelsi Davies, a paranormal YoutubeTikTokeInfluencer who has a haunted doll and claims to be clairvoyant.

She posts couple-y instagram stories of the hummingbirds from his house and another story with her wearing his shirt. I won't include a screenshot of the photo from Jimmi's house, but it is a view he himself has posted to both his story and his regular instagram feed numerous times.

They attend Sitges film festival together, how romantic.
Kyra turned 26!
Also in attendance with them is Lola Blanc, one of Kyra Gardner’s influencefilmmaker friends (more on her later).

2024.05.13 19:44 warlockgandalf AI's visual perspective on Turkish women

I was recently working on a project which was involving the old Turkic history, culture and mythology. I wanted to portray Turkish women's look as well to some extent. Unfortunately, they mostly ended up being far away from reality. In a basic "Turkish girl/woman" prompt there is an attempt of a so-called "cultural" projection, where the figure has to be represented in a traditional clothing. But ironically, this traditional clothing (design, texture, pattern) does not come out accurate either. I am unable to tell from which culture AI is getting this inspiration, but it has nothing to do with Turkish or Turkic styles. I had to pick Altai people instead of Turkish people to get the most accurate results for a suitable Turkic look (discluding the face of course), but they are still far away from okay. One of my biggest problem is not being able to remove the headscarves. For instance, even though you describe the hair or place a type of hat, that headscarf does not come off.
My attempts were made in Midjourney and Dall-e. In a basic generation, maybe this can be fixed after some trials, but as the prompts grow, it is hard to deal with this issue.
Anyway, after checking up on the internet, I came across to some websites which publish women from different countries generated by AI. The same issue. There is a woman in modern clothing, and the portrait itself has sort of the touch from that nationality. And then there is Turkey, in unrecognizable dress and wearing headscarf. It also came to my attention how the writer tried to make up for the outcome, implying "this is the beauty standard". I hope you aren't thinking that I am overreacting, I'd presume you wouldn't want to see your unique self is misrepresented, either. The stranger part is, women from Islamic countries are not always in headscarves in those pictures, but even though Turkey is not an Islamic country, there is this art generation.
I would like to know how to make a stop to this, because it is really getting annoying.

2024.05.13 13:21 OmegaTron27 Would it be okay to use the clothes of a licensed character in your art to sell if the clothes themselves are pretty basic?

Say I drew an original character with intention of selling in a cross stitch pattern. As long as made no mention of 'Nintendo' or 'Mario' in any way, would there be any issues with me dressing the character in a plain red hat, red long sleeve, and blue overalls?

2024.05.13 12:09 Secure-Economist-266 Toy Story 3 Video Game Codes For PS3

Toy Story 3 Video Game Codes For PS3
I was unsure where to put this but I've found 4 codes that work on the PS3 version of Toy Story 3 (please not I haven't tested it on other consoles). Also please be aware I'm unsure if some codes are also region locked but these ones should work for Australia (and Europe maybe).
  1. The Knight's Game Pack which was released with other packs with the Walmart Editions of the game (also I don't know if any other packs also had a code). It cost 500 coins at Al's Toy Barn in Toy Box Mode, it has a knight costume for the human townsfolk that has a silver head piece with a red mohawk down the middle, its worth 40 funny points and 10 cool points. It also has a knight clothing that comes with a sword with chain amour and red cloth with the yellow sheriff star outline on top, it's with 50 funny points and 10 cool points. The alien townsfolk have a costume of a jousting knight with a plain knight helmet that covers only the top part of the head with a dome shape, its worth 10 cool points. There is also a jousting knight clothing that is white amour with a black and white spiral jousting pole, worth 10 cool points. It also comes with building customisation options: the first is a wall customisation a blue stone wall to match the medieval theme, a darker rich brown wooden trim for the excess of buildings, a dark rich brown wooden door with an iron frame and gold door hinges and gold door knocker hoop. Iron trimmed windows with gold slanted crossed lines as a pattern with black insides, a medieval shield and spear for the sides of buildings (one object but on both sides), medieval castle spire with a flag pole on top for the top of buildings, and for the yard: a King Arthur sword in a stone and a training dummy pillow with a target in the middle.
  2. The Gladiator, unlike what some people think which is that it would add a character that is a Gladiator Toy, it actually adds a gladiator costume for the townsfolk that are human. The hat is worth 10 scary and 10 cool points, it's appearance is Roman with a bronze metal material with a red hair clump sprouted from the middle. The clothing is a bronze chest plate with a bronze bracelet on each hand with brown sandals, the clothing is worth 10 scary points and 10 cool points.
  3. The Patriotic Hat and Big Band Hat, which is two hats for the human townsfolk. The Patriotic Hat adds an Uncle Sam based hat with it being a white top hat with a blue part down the bottom with white stars inside with the top part of the hat having vertical red lines down the side. It's worth 10 cute points, 10 funny points and 20 cool points.
The Big Band Hat is a orange marching band hat with a white feather stuck to the top. Its worth the same as the previous hat before of 10 cute points, 10 funny points and 20 cool points.
  1. Which is the only one that doesn't involve customisation is the 2000 coins in Toy Box Mode Code. Which isn't reusable and can only be used once.

2024.05.13 02:30 Separate_Possible_12 Trapper cap

Does anyone have a good trapper cap pattern? My wife is getting into sewing and I heard that the trappers cap is easy for beginners so I was going to have her make me one for my hunting trips. I found this one online but I don't like how short the ear flaps are. https://peekaboopatternshop.com/aviator-hat-sewing-pattern/

2024.05.13 01:44 Low-Chemistry2608 Seemingly normal-psychosis Story

I’m F24 and I’ve remembered most of my intertwined ptsd memories since I was 4. Apparently, I’ve been molested multiple times since I was 9 and suppressed it. My family is Asian and we come off as those typical stoic educational families. Through realizing those past memories, I’ve been studying people all of my years of remembering. Particularly psychology and noticed we have autistic symptoms we never addressed and would get confused for the stereotype.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen my family. It’s been 2 years. I left out of the blue because of me acting out from me being molested. I never told anyone at all till now.
Anyways, I’ve been happy in my career in massage therapy toggling back and forth between a balance of working at a spa and chiropractic office. Me getting more feedback from other fellow massage therapists and also sharing that knowledge at my independent contractor job at the chiropractic office.
I felt my prefrontal cortex open up applying everything I knew to my career. Then on, I took complete responsibility about everything. Extreme ownership and accountability. I kept going by these three words in this exact order: Notice. Feel. Do. Also I’ve been practicing Ayurveda focusing more on the general things like emotional, mental and physical care.
Applying that to the roots of who I was. Down to every single person I’ve hurt and what I’ve done to others. And also figuring out why I did so and tackling that. I’ve done some digging and was becoming more aware of what I was suffering from.
But anyways with my career I was completely happy till I found out I was being scammed at my spa workplace and confronted my boss. Then I quit. After so, a chord struck in me.
My newly diagnosed ptsd, ocd, autism, schizophrenia from a conflict of interest therapist friend all hit at once when I took extreme ownership.
Mind you, because I left the house, I was living with my boyfriend with roommates. I was being obsessive with EMP waves and parts of the sun striking earth from a friend I recently reconnected with. It didn’t help how I was seeing these patterns or psychological thrillers on Netflix like “Don’t Look Up” or “2012” appear in my feed and how others were literally going crazy noticing these things how “April Fools” wasn’t funny anymore purely from close friends of mine through instagram. I was convinced there was someone trying to tell us something through these movies.
Because of this, I immediately left my boyfriend’s and wanted to reunite with my family because I was scared of going to hell and not seeing them again.
So I did and it lead to me confronting the person that molested me. I forget I did so on their birthday and had myself convinced I was in literal hell. So while that was going on, I had myself convinced that I was a genius and had to save the world through pretending to be a spy. The night before I was having trouble sleeping at night because I was afraid I wasn’t gonna wake up and I was in purgatory. So if I slept, not repenting or doing anything right to fix how I left my home in the first place in the moment, I’d go to hell.
It took a lot of convincing for myself to finally get sleep. And that was through believing in god. Thinking if I prayed extra hard that night, I’d be alive the next day. I couldn’t even do that so I slept at the foot of my dad’s bed.
The next day, I’ve gathered all of my comfort items. Leaving the house wearing oversized blue slides, a brown crew neck sweater, shark hat and smeared toothpaste on my face. Trying to look like just a crackhead when I was actually becoming one lol. Though I never taken any drugs…
I left my house trying to regather to my boyfriend the information I’ve learned and other trusted people. On my way to his place, I’ve met a homeless man and asked if he was aware of the sun turning brighter and technology listening in. He immediately got suspicious and his attitude flipped to where he was attentive. I ended up playing dumb and continued my way to my boyfriend’s house.
At one point I stopped at the corner of a sidewalk and peed myself. Also I kept stopping occasionally rallying up cars to almost try to hit me and pointing directly to the sun, motioning to myself how it was getting hot and cold. For some reason I also brought into my head how aliens were also the cause of this.
While passing this elderly lady on the sidewalk, I noticed how she had goggled glasses and kept trying to beat her up. After that, I’ve taken her bread, ate some, choked and spit it out laying myself down on the floor. A little after, I’ve noticed paramedics trying to take my vitals and the way they were talking to me in such a report like the homeless man switching triggered me.
I fought all of them off and was handcuffed with the windows of the car being all the way up. I kept banging my head on the window to let me out or lower the windows but I was getting ignored. Through the backseat I kept talking to myself uncontrollably and in a pattern I couldn’t even understand like a wave of vowels and consonants in a roller coaster fashion. AaaaaHhhhaaa
Finally, I was taken out of the car and into the paramedics. They taken me to the mental hospital and I freaked out, screaming to myself because I was believing that this all wasn’t real. That actually I was in my bed and my family and closest ones were trying to wake me out of the hell I was going through.
To be continued…

2024.05.13 00:21 1NatSVV Help me find him?

Help me find him?
Oh man last night was crazy!! Long story short I want to find this guy and i don't know of a more wider platform (other than tiktok) to help maybe find this guy.
First of all my name is Natalie. I went to an INZO concert last night 5/11 fron 7p to 1:30a, and then after I went the the Wave Garden night club in the Queen Anne area. That's where I met Matthew.
I don't know much other information about him other than he was with a group probably, tall 5'10"+ slim/athletic, white guy, green eyes, black shirt and jeans, a few candy bracelets and wore a hat/beanie, was really kind to security staff and infectious smile. I don't remember much else because I was battling a headache
I was wearing my black crop top sweater and black "Headbanger" pants. I was the short latina when we first spotted each other in the hallway for the bathroom.
You started up a conversation with me about the guy in front of me and his patterned shirt.
When you, Matthew, last saw me you asked if you could give me a side hug before you left and you wanted to see me more during the night.
Sadly I left early because of the headache. I was still standing in the entrance area the last you saw me.
Well my hopes in making this post is that maybe we can connect again and maybe kind people will help us!
A pic of the event for tax.
P.S. I'll know it's you when you can tell me what you said when you pointed at the TV screen in the foyer when we were talking :3

I spun the yarn for the hat on a drop spindle! Not bad for my first spin. I also didn't look up a pattern for the hat which is another first for me.
