Hi I used to be very in to cosplay but ended up quitting a few years back but now I have moved on to new hobbies I feel like I really just need to clean out my closet! But I have no idea where to sell — most of them are anime or danganronpa! If you have any interest or know websites that I could use please let me know!

I am a size small to medium!

I'm 22, just out of a decent university, but my grades weren't the top (3.0 gpa). For the past two years, I've been putting in around 25 hours a week at a small bank branch since my sophomore year. They've given me a bunch of important tasks like scheduling appointments and handling financial transactions, wires, accounts, safety deposit boxes, etc. I think I'm pretty good at what I do, and I pick things up quickly. People say I'm personable and great with clients. But I'll admit, I struggle with staying organized, and motivation can be a challenge sometimes.
Now I'm at a bit of a crossroads – deciding whether to stick with my part-time role at the bank or take on a full-time teller position. However, what I'm really passionate about is working in the international finance scene! I'm fluent in English and French, and I'm working on my Spanish because I have a real passion for languages. I have the legal right to work in the EU, which is where I'd like to start. But I'm also eyeing opportunities in growing African countries like Niger, Rwanda, or the Democratic Republic of Congo. Does anyone have any advice on how I can make this transition? Whether it's specific roles, companies, or licenses, I'm open to any suggestions that could help me chase my ambitions. Some context. We adopted two young cats from a stray mother. Brother and sister, who are now 7 years old. Sister is a small, unassuming angel who hasn't hurt a fly in her life. Brother is a sweet cat who needs so much love and attention and loves to hang around people, but he's also very prone to stress and getting himself into trouble.
He started peeing inside years ago. And to be honest, he never stopped. Sometimes a few times a week, sometimes a few times a day. Sometimes when we're present, sometimes when we're not. He's neutered, but it's clearly spraying - vertical surfaces, tail raised.
He's made such a big deal of peeing that he's had several medical issues with his bladder, with one instance being nearly fatal - a few extra hours and he'd been dead.
Our lives have changed, with a young daughter having joined the finally, and this has dramatically worsened the situation. There's damaged furniture, odd smells and a constant sense of tension when he's obviously prowling the house looking for a spot.
But he's SUCH an amazing cat. Energetic, kind, sociable, loves to play, loves to cuddle. I love the guy so much, he made me fall in love with cats and has been such a source of comfort and love. We've tried to much. Vet visits, stress medication, extra love and attention, even more litter boxes, letting him go outside (was an indoor cat for a long time), Feliway... We've treated the urine spots with everything we could imagine but at this point it just feels useless, like we're barely making a dent on the years of damage.
I know I'm rambling. It's just such a painful thing to me. He's been a part of the family for 7 years but we are beyond desperate. I think he needs to go find his happiness elsewhere, away from the stress of a young child and a house that's forever changed/changing, and away from the furniture and walls that are irreparable damaged... but we are just paralyzed.

The long title says it all. I recently bought a used 2018 jeep grand cherokee, right off the bat the radio (speakers) weren't working. The screen worked but no sound would come out. Additionally the check engine light came on within 15 hours of purchase. We returned it, the used dealership kept it for almost a week then we picked it up. All was well for about 2.5 weeks, then this morning my husband starts the jeep up and he thought he smelled smoke (but didn't' see anything). A message came on directing to stop driving/car will power off, but it didn't happen. A few hours later I turn the jeep on and the same thing happens, but as i'm looking up what the icons mean (battery and the auto idle/start/stop icons) i notice a small plume/stream of smoke coming from under the passenger seat. I turn it off and call the dealership, and when i go to turn the car back on (within 30 minutes) there is no smoke and no light indicators.
After googling (and waiting for the tow to come pick the jeep up) i read up on TIPM/fuse boxes, could this be a potential issue and could a new TIPM fix the issue?

Lightyear Frontier, the first title from Frame Break, a Swedish game development studio, presents an open-world game in early access, in which the player piloting a Mecha must work to survive and revitalize the newly colonized planet, as well as uncover the secrets present in this unknown world.
The game offers a set of elements that broaden its scope and make it daring, to say the least, especially considering that it is the first game from an indie studio. After landing on the unknown planet, it is necessary to recover the Mecha and its various tools. Upon completing this brief tutorial, the player has their Mecha ready, which is basically a Mecha made for agricultural purposes in order to help colonize other planets by obtaining resources. At this point the player is introduced to the farm element of the game, the player must collect the alien plants from the planet and cultivate them in order to develop the agricultural land, along with this proposal is added the whole layer of managing a base with different structures and improvements for the Mecha. Finally, there is the element of the open world, which is eager for exploration in order to discover new resources and uncover the mysteries of the new environment.
The story of the game goes hand in hand with the main objective: upon entering the planet, the player needs to start a new life in the new world, and a big part of that life, apart from the little farm, is exploring the environment. Each time a new environment is cleared, the player learns a little more about the game's history through a personal AI that tells them why the space exploration mission took place and what the process was like. At the same time, there is a sealed door that has its seals unlocked according to each new environment that is rejuvenated. After the environments have been completely rejuvenated, the sealed door is opened and part of the world's secrets are revealed, along with a special ability for the mech. Unfortunately the story stops there, there is a sequel but it hasn't been produced yet, you'll have to wait for future updates and for the game to be officially released for it to be completed.
As for the farm part of the game, this is also essential to the story as a whole, it's not there as an extra element that takes up time without any purpose, because it's from the 5 tools that the player has in their mech that the process of cleaning up the environment takes place, especially with the plant watering tool and the harvester. The robotic watering can is used to remove harmful mud and the harvester is used to remove harmful weeds, so without both, the whole exploration element becomes meaningless. So where does the farm come in? Mud and weeds are more resistant in more advanced environments, so you need to upgrade the mech's tools so that these obstacles can be removed, and that's where the farm comes in, it's where the different constructions are made available and resources are obtained in order to improve the mecha. The Mecha's improvement site is also built at the base next to the buildings that process the different metals, woods and alien plants into oils to be used as improvements. In addition to the farm itself, exploration is important in the Mecha's evolution, since resources such as trees, stones, aluminum, copper and iron need to be collected from the environment. All these elements are there to make improvements to the Mecha possible, improvements that are not only essential for the game as a whole to continue, but are also important for more efficient maintenance of the plantation.
There are also other interesting elements such as the product store that appears daily on the player's farm, where you can sell and buy products to facilitate progression and partly reduce the need to grind. There's also the quest board, which offers tasks in exchange for money to be spent in the produce store. One element that has been developed that is a positive surprise are the random events on the plantation, which are basically two: the noxious bubbles that need to be popped with the water jet before they grow and explode, and the rain of noxious weeds, both of which can wipe out the player's plantation and both of which always occur in the morning and close to harvest day, for this reason the player is almost obliged to sleep in the house overnight, because if they don't and the random event occurs the next day, it's practically impossible to remedy the disaster on the plantation, so the element is used to limit exploration to an extent that the farm won't be abandoned, an excellent game design idea.
An impactful characterization of decoration in the gameplay has been developed by Frame Break in Lightyear Frontier, unlike other games, the work generously rewards the player for decorating the area of their residence. The different levels of housing allow for different degrees of bonuses, and these bonuses are incredible, such as the chance to increase the collection of resources, destroy objects more quickly with a “critical” with the blade tool, or even increase the yield of the plantation. The fact is that the game has turned the element of customizing the house and its surroundings into an essential element of the gameplay, and it's an incredible way of encouraging the player to explore all the infinite decorations beyond “I want to make my house pretty”.
Aesthetically, the work has a pseudo-realism, where the playful mixes with the real and the cartoonish style takes over. It's an interesting mix and is in line with the model proposed by Frame Break, the exploration and colonization of a new planet. Graphically, the game is beautiful and presents almost no performance problems, with few bugs to be found.
In conclusion, Lightyear Frontier delivers the old and basic in a revamped form, not a bad thing for a small studio that has made great strides with its first work. Meca's idea draws attention to the game, which features exploration, base management, the creation of a farm, and a story with normal levels. There is nothing extraordinary or innovative about the basic structure of the game, but it is solid and very well interconnected, the elements of the work are interdependent, which generates continuous progression in all aspects of the work. In short, the work is characterized in this way: the basics done with care and dedication so that the homogeneity of the work is maintained, together with a dash of daring with a somewhat out-of-the-box idea.

I am very worried for a recent queen I found by happenstance on my way to the grocery store. As the title suggests, she is a camponotus nearcticus who I misidentified as a camponotus pennsylvanicus and you guys helped me realize otherwise!
She is twitching near constantly and only appears to have one antennae. I have her in a cardboard box in a traditional test tube setup on top of a heating cable at the front of her tube (opposite of the water basin). I feel as though I am doing everything correctly, only checking on her once every two weeks, but she still has yet to lay any brood.
I have also enclosed a substrate insert into her test tube (which I do for all of my captured queens as some cannot gain traction on glass), and provided her with a small drop of honey (by no means enough for her to drown).
I have had awful luck with finding beautiful nuptial queens and then they do poor in a test tube setup. If anyone has any suggestions or needs more information please don't hesitate to ask!!

I bought these GATs new on here a couple of weeks ago and they are too small for me. These are premium reps.
Sizing: These are marked 43 but I tried them on and they are too narrow in the toe box for me. My dress shoe size is 9.5EE and I wear 9.5 Jordans/Dunks and 10 for SB Dunks and J4s.
For these I'd do the Vans test - if you can wear Vans slip-ons in US 10 these may fit you. Otherwise, these are better for someone who is 42 and 42.5 (non-wide).

My resident cat is a senior female who is deaf. She has been the only cat in the house for the past two years. I adopted her from a local cat cafe.
On Friday, I adopted another senior cat, a male who is not deaf.
When I bought the newcomer home, I put the carrier down in the living room where she was. The resident cat noticed and began hissing at him. I established a small spare bedroom as his basecamp.
He has made it clear that he does not like being in there and will scratch at the door. On Saturday, he got out. When they encountered each other, the resident hissed and growled at him. He kept his distance from her. She has even hissed at me when she smelled him on me.
On Sunday, I placed her food bowl about 5 feet from the bedroom door and she ate. She sensed him in the bedroom and peered under the door. She hissed when she saw him and ran away.
Sunday night, he got a little too close to her and she smacked him. He backed off and she retreated for higher ground.
This morning (Monday), I got a Feliway Multicat diffuser and set it up in the living room where she was. She was on the back of the couch, and I let him out of his room. He came in and they stared each other down. If he got too close, she would hiss and growl. He would lay down and slow blink at her. She would also slow blink or turn away from him. I was able to feed her on the couch and him on the other side of the room. The fact that they were eating in the same room made me optimistic and I left him out.
In the afternoon, she was on the kitchen counter. He propped himself up on the cabinet near her which caused her to get defensive. This time, her ears were pinned back. He backed away again and sat down glancing at her and slow blinking. His body language is suggesting that he is afraid of her but wants to show her that he is not a threat and wants to be her friend. She wants nothing to do with him.
What can I do to help them get along? I feel like the resident is getting very stressed. She won't leave her perches to eat or use the litter box. I don't want to confine her to a room or keep them separated indefinitely.

I recently bought an LG G4 OLED and got the newly released LG DS77TY 3.1.3 soundbar along with it as part of a discounted bundle offered by a local store.
Super happy with the TV so far even straight out of the box, but I was fairly shocked by the initial performance of the DS77TY soundbar. Music and ambience sound good enough and the soundstage is wide enough for my room, but anything involving vocals -- sports commentary, news, movie/TV dialogue, YouTube vids -- had voices sound awfully thin and hollow. Like there was absolutely no depth at all to the voices, everything sounding "tinny" and as if coming straight from poor TV speakers.
I managed to improve on this a fair bit by picking "Cinema" sound mode over either AI Pro or Standard, and also turning TV Sound Sharing on. This made voices sound noticeably fuller, but only to about the level of a small, cheap-ish ten year old Panasonic 2.1 soundbar I owned previously, which was not really what I was hoping for.
[Also I have an Apple TV 4K (plugged into the TV rather than the soundbar) where I feel the vocal sound issue is slightly worse than on the TV directly.]
Does anyone else have any experiences with either LG soundbars and/or sound settings for the G-series OLEDS? Were my expectations too high? Should I try to tinker further with the settings [any suggestions?] to find an acceptable level of voice sound quality or return and go for a different model/brand?
It is really vocals/voices that I have an issue with, everything else sounds decent enough. Thx for the help and comments!

Strengthened neuroception and hypervigilance are byproducts of trauma. Surviving an assault / abuse (often) creates a more honed perception of danger, and a deeper intuition for sensing potential predators. I have experienced numerous sexual assaults throughout my life. With all of that said…
From the very start, my perpetrator alarms persistently rang when she was around, but at some point during season 2 (before Brandi was brought on as a full time cast member) I made a one time mistake of hitting snooze on the alarms… thinking maybe I got it wrong, and I’d judged her too harshly. I believe my second guessing was largely due to her being targeted and made fun of by the majority of the HWs at the start of that season. My empathy coupled with my distain for bullying caused me to second guess my intuition, so I let my guard down. Now, I obviously understand she poses no real threat towards me / us as viewers, but para-relationships are a real thing which is why it is possible to feel betrayed by Brandi. It’s why we feel anything towards these women. Anyways, that snooze was over, and the alarms were activated again before my head even had the chance to hit my pillow (I am going to bleed this metaphor for all it’s worth). She made it clear then, and continues to make it clear now that the only person she gives a fuck about is herself.
Brandi clearly drinks too much, and I would not be surprised if there were other substances at play. She genuinely checks all of the box’s for Substance Use Disorder. BUT, it is no excuse for her behavior. I am in recovery from alcohol, heroin, and benzos, and through all of my years as an active addict / alcoholic I never once sexually harassed nor assaulted another person. So no, her drinking and drugging cannot be to blame for her egregious, reckless, and dangerous behavior. She is very mentally ill, with or without the substances. She, to some degree, has managed to get away with (up until recently), and even more disturbingly get paid for continuously verbally, physically, and sexually accosting and assaulting the majority of her fellow cast members, as well as some of the personnels behind the cameras.
I do not blame her ex husband for wanting and attempting for full custody. I think her kids would have been much safer away from her. Though, I am not insinuating that she ever chanelled her sexual aggressiveness towards them, but they absolutely were exposed to it, and that 100% still has an impact on them and their sense of safety.
Brandi is manipulative, she compulsively creates chaos and seeming enjoys the distress it creates in others. She is codependent, but she will turn on a person at the drop of a dime if she feels at all threatened by them. She disrespects boundaries, she doesn’t take, “No.” for an answer when she is advancing sexually towards someone, nor will she take, “No, no, no!”, not even “STOP!”. When a man does that, we call them a predator. The same should be for a woman. Brandi wants what she wants, when she wants it. She lies, deceives, and will stab a person in their back- whatever it takes, as long as Brandi gets her way. She has the inability to maintain lasting relationships, and the relationships she does have are superficial and there is always some kind of (unhealthy) gain she is reaping from the person.
I went from being cautious of Brandi, to feeling sorry for her, to pitying her, but ultimately she made it clear she a very mentally unwell, unpredictable, and unstable woman who acts out in appalling ways with little to no remorse for her actions. When anyone points out her bullshit her response is always to disregard her behaviors by chalking it up to her “I don’t give a fuck” personality. Actually, it’s a different kind of personality… she displays all of the characteristics a of a severely unstable borderline personality. Until she gets real help for her mental state, she will continue to be a danger to those around her, as well as pose as a threat to herself. Anyone who continues to support Brandi Granville is also supporting the sexual assault, and that’s a very weird thing to get behind.

Aurors blasted their way into Umbridge's house and found her hiding in a small, hidden room by using the spell Homenum Revelio.
She was surrounded by dozens of plates featuring cats and had rows of neatly stacked tins of cat food, which she appeared to have been eating for sustenance. In the corner of the room was a litter box. Oddly enough, however, there were no actual cats to be found.
The Aurors quickly disarmed her, magically bound her, and hauled her off to the Ministry of Magic to be placed in a holding cell until she could be arraigned.
Two days later, she was brought before the Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shackelbolt, looking slightly unkempt and tired. The entire Wizengamot, which had been noticeably thinned out since Shacklebolt had removed several members for their own crimes and/or bribery, was also in attendance.
She looked around the room and tried to find somebody who could be either an ally or someone to whom she could shift the focus, and therefore, possibly, the blame. Finding no one to fit such a criteria, she fixed her face into a contrite image and looked around at the people who were there and pled for mercy. In an instant, Minister Shacklebolt's composed disposition shifted from being reserved to completely unfriendly. Umbridge balked at the thought of being stuck in "lunatic land". Shacklebolt issued a two week recess for the Wizengamot in relation to her case. She began to argue the time frame when he gave her a sharp look and she furiously shut her mouth. He reiterated the two week time frame and continued on to say that when they reconvened, they would hear the Healer's testimony regarding her claims and mental status.
Two Aurors, Savage and Williamson, had taken post on either side of her. Savage held her by her left arm while Williamson pulled out a white handkerchief. Umbridge pinched the material between her forefinger and thumb before raising it up to eye level and informing the Healer that she refused to put on something so colorless and disgusting. Healer Ashborn donned a nonchalant smirk and informed her that if it was not done willingly and swiftly that she would have no other choice but to Evanesco her personal belongings to the hospital rubbish bin and charm the hospital clothes on with a sticking spell for good measure.
Less than 2 minutes later, she was dressed and being escorted by the Aurors to her bed, which was surrounded by silver framed dividers with pale blue cloth to block the view of the neighboring beds.
As the Aurors turned their attention to make some notes on their paperwork, Umbridge made a sickly sweet noise as she cleared her throat. "Hem-hem. Am I not being given a private room?" She let out a childish giggle.
The Aurors looked at her incredulously, then at each other. Finally, Auror Savage spoke up, "Private rooms are not given to possible war criminals."
Scowling, Umbridge scoffed loudly and said, "Well, I never! I will be writing a letter to the Minister of Magic about this."
Auror Williamson spoke up then, "You think we don't take our orders from the Minister regarding this? You writing a letter won't change anything."
"How dare you! I am Dolores Umbridge, Senior Undersecretary to the Minister -"
"Not anymore, you're not " Auror Savage said coldly, effectively cutting her off. "You are a person on trial for war crimes and a provisional resident of the Janus Thicky Ward due to your claim of being cursed. Now, you have been magically bound to be within 5 feet of your bed, meals will be brought to you, and a member of the staff will escort you to the lavatory. You are not permitted to have a wand and that cuff on your wrist is a magic binder. Since we have completed our duties, we shall now take our leave. The Chief Healer will see you tomorrow morning. Good day, Ms. Umbridge."
She pointed a finger at them while trying to maintain her calm and hissed "Now see here. You cannot just leave me here with all these crazy people, especially while bound with no magic." Her right eye twitched.
Auror Williamson raised his eyebrow at her while he took out the white handkerchief. He held it out to his partner, and, after Savage had taken hold, he activated the portkey without saying another word and they disappeared.
Umbridge sat down onto the rather thin mattress and listened as the springs shrieked as though in agony.
Well, at least I'll be using a real toilet instead of that litterbox, she thought to herself. This will be like a nice vacation. I can order my favorite meals and have some nice wine while I relax.
At that moment, Gilderoy Lockhart popped his head around the partition. "Hello," he said with a big smile and in his shmooziest of voices. "I see you're new. Nice bracelet...." he trailed off for a moment. Coming back around, he added, "Don't mind the bed. They all shriek a bit. Well, not mine, of course. I just had to smile at it a couple of times, aheh. Now it sings to me."
She narrowed her eyes while feeling even more flustered than before. "Why are you here," she spat.
"What a stupendous question. Eh...," he started but clearly began to mentally wander again.
"Can't you manage a simple straight answer," she snapped.
"Well, you see... I simply can't remember." He let out a light chuckle and pulled his eyebrows slightly together while pasting on his best grin. Why not? After all, it worked for his bed.
"Yes, well, be sure to maintain your distance. I won't have you loitering about my space. Move along." She waved him off.
She promptly learned that her stay was going to be nothing like a vacation; no favorite meals, no wine, and certainly no relaxing.
As the days wore on, Lockhart managed to finagle his way into her area for most of the day - everyday. One day he was particularly on her nerves after having rambled on and on about a dream of a very large snake and falling rocks.
Umbridge, losing control of the situation with such an utter nitwit, suddenly burst out in her annoyance. "Enough, Mr. Lockhart!" Later that day, she ended up scratching herself nearly raw due to a mild case of hives.
As hard as she tried to keep her sanity about her, he just seemed to suck it away from her. It was almost as though the more insane she felt, the saner he seemed. Could it be that he had devised a way to steal her sanity and replace it with his insanity? She became more and more leery of him as the days went by until, at one point, a near frantic paranoia set in. She spent the rest of that day completely sedated.
She begged the staff to be moved, but Cheif Healer Pye said they could not due to the restrictions placed by the Auror Department. She ordered for Lockhart to be switched to a different location. In that instance, Healer Pye said that he would not as it could disrupt Mr. Lockhart's frame of mind and treatment, causing him to relapse. She pulled her hair, stomped her feet like a petulant child, and screamed until she was Silenced and magically bound to the bed to keep her from hurting herself.
At the end of the two weeks, Umbridge found herself magically shackled and standing in front of the Minister and the Wizengamot once more. The Chief Healer was also in attendance and reported to the court that while he found absolutely zero proof of her ever having been under the Imperius Curse, he felt it was best that she remained in custody whether at St. Mungo's or Azkaban, as she was a danger to herself and others due to her mental instability.
Umbridge let out a small giggle as the Cheif Healer finished speaking. Minister Shacklebolt turned his head back to face her, catching her smile before she could mask her face. He narrowed his eyes at her and asked if she had anything to say. She quickly donned her saccharine smile.
"Thank you, Minister. While it may be difficult for some people to understand all the hard work and pressure of working at the Ministry, I, for one, am ready to stay the task to get the job done. I shall be ready to resume my official post as Senior Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic in two days time. Of course, I will need to completely redecorate my office as I'm certain that whomever has been occupying it has completely destroyed -"
"Madam." Shacklebolt had cut her off. He was done hearing her rubbish as she tried to take control of the situation. "You will not be reinstated in any sense to any position in the Ministry. You will, however, be able to enjoy your cell at the now dementor-free portion of Azkaban."
"How dare you!" Her fake smile and childish voice dropped away.
Any members of the Wizengamot who were not completely sure of her guilt nearly got whiplash with how fast she changed her demeanor. Many people began to whisper to each other about rumors they had heard that they now believed to be most likely true. She continued to glare at Shacklebolt.
"After everything I have done and sacrificed for the Ministry. After all the lying, magic-stealing mudbloods I sentenced for the sake of our world. How dare you think for one minute that you can just send me off to that dilapidated cesspool; that disgusting hell hole?!" She had began in a directed, hushed yell and finished in an irritated, huffing screech.
As the court witnessed her continued outburst, they whispered even more to each other. Shacklebolt patiently waited as she further unraveled while admitting to more crimes.
She finally cracked and shrieked out to the room. "Quit your whispering about me! I have done nothing but rid these disgusting mudbloods and blood traitors from among us! ORDER! Listen to me! I will have order!" She began pointing at different Wizengamot members who had opposed the corrupt Ministry while it was ran by Voldemort's puppets.
Having heard enough, Shacklebolt banged his gavel on the podium. The Wizengamot became completely silent as Umbridge continued to screech "I will have order! I will have order!"
Shacklebolt then picked up his wand and cast a Silencing charm in her direction. Umbridge's right eye twitched away as she continued screaming her Silenced "I will have order" chant.
The Minister looked to the Chief Healer and asked if Azkaban had a mental ward that was suitable for Ms. Umbridge. He responded to the affirmative. Umbridge was henceforth sentenced and taken to the mental ward of Azkaban.
Within a week, she had lost her privileges to use utensils, as she had used one to draw a rudimentary cat on her wall to which she was often observed speaking.
"Cordelia, you must bathe yourself. I refuse to have you in my presence whilst unkempt. I will have order." Her eyes glassed over and she stared at the wall without really seeing it as she continued to repeat, "I will have order. I will have order. I will... have......order."

I absolutely love Costco pizza. I used to eat 2 of the large slices and then feel horrible from overeating.
Today I picked up my second box of 2.5 from Costco and I grabbed a slice of pizza on the way out. I couldn’t even finish half of the slice but the best part was I was able to notice the fullness cues right away and stopped eating (before I would literally eat two slices just because they tasted so good, not because I was still hungry)
Felt great to eat what I was craving in a small portion 😊

Just got accepted into Ottawa (yippee!), but I put my deposit in at Alberta (a frankly ridiculous 1k) back in early April and really only seriously considered UBC as an alternative (alas, got my R the other day). I've completely mentally committed myself to UofA, and kind of expected my Ontario apps to fizzle out, seeing as I've still got two unanswered (with one being Osgoode), but now that it's real, I'm torn. There's a TDLR if you want to skip ahead :)
Some personal context: I'm from BC, and currently intend on practicing in Vancouver, but don't want to box myself in this early in case I decide to go to Ontario instead. I'm not sure what area I want to practice in, but I'm leaning toward family or MAYBE government/politics (hence, interest in parliament), though I really don't want to put my eggs in any baskets until I've done my first year and gotten some more relevant experience. The distance is a bit daunting for both (did undergrad at UBC, within 1.5hrs of home), but my mom works with an airline so plane tickets aren't much of an obstacle--distance is distance. I only slightly lean toward Alberta because it's closer to home and I would miss my little sister a lot. Edmonton housing is also pretty cheap, but seeing as I'm coming from UBC... both places are much more comfortably priced. I don't mind the tuition difference. Really, my only qualms with UofA to begin with were the snow and small-city feel (compared to Vancouver), so seeing as Ottawa, to my understanding, is more or less the same, I'm not being tipped in either direction. I think my gut is saying Alberta, but that might just be because I've been spending the last month mentally imagining living there. I'm hoping to make a trip out to Ottawa in the next few weeks to see if I even like the campus/area.
To my understanding, UofA and UOttawa are pretty much tied in terms of academics. I'm really only considering UOttawa seeing as Ottawa houses parliament, in case I want to go into poltics/government. I feel pretty confident that I'll get a job in Van if I go to UofA, as I know a handful of people who have taken that route. I also imagine transitioning from a Van firm to an Ontario one wouldn't be super difficult if I have enough experience/capability. I guess I'm just wondering if UOttawa has any practical advantage over UofA. From what I've seen, UofA has a more holistic curriculum, while Ottawa focusses in on current sociopolitical concerns, like environmental, Indigenous, etc law.
Additionally, if by some bizarre stroke of luck Osgoode likes my PS and accepts me, would it be wisest to pick them over UofA and UOttawa? I'm also waiting on Queen's, but it doesn't have the same pull Ottawa has for me (i.e., parliament), but if you think it would be better than UofA, I'd love to hear about it. Also, I'm waiting for USask, so if you have a compelling reason for why they're better than everyone else and I should hope for the A, fire away, haha.
Sorry for being long-winded! Just want to give as much context as possible. It's so annoying that making this choice now pretty much shapes your careelife. But I would really appreciate some advice if you've got it, thank you :)
TL;DR - From BC, trying to pick between UofA and UOttawa, with slight lean to UofA. Hoping to practice in Vancouver as of right now. No hard preference for specialization, but an inclination toward family law. Does UOttawa have any practical/specific advantage over UofA? Additionally, if I somehow get into Oz, should I choose that overall? Feel free to sing any praises for USask or Queen's as well.
