Hey people! I need help because I'm at very odd crossroads. Bit of background - I'm driving a small Hyundai Kona that will soon be sold. My family expanded by one and I have one real need for my next car - to be big.. I've been car hunting for the past month and the best deals I got so far are two and are hard to compare... Skoda Superb Combi L&K 2.0tsi FWD or BMW x3 xDrive20i 2023
So... pros and cons, right?
PROs: Skoda is bigger, cheaper(39k EUR after discounts) have more features such as adaptive cruise, better sound system, heated steering and most importantly has a better dynamic. Tested it just today and I like how quick it goes despite the heavy body and the 190hp engine. BMW on the other hand is 4x4, has a sportier look and it is an SUV(I live in a badly infrastructure neighborhood with bad roads and also love to go to the mountains) still has good quality of life features but not as much as the Skoda, and probably the biggest pro in my head is that.. it's a BMW.
CONs: BMW is more expensive(53k EUR after discounts), sounds like it isn't thar fast with a 186hp engine to carry that 1.8tons body(will be test driving it in few days) and is missing some quality of life features such as the adaptive cruise... Skoda on the other hand.... well the only con I find for it is the way it looks... looks like a car my uncle should be driving, not me..
Now.. the thing which concerns me the most is the residual value for the BMW... I have 21k EUR residual value of 5 years lease contract for the BMW, which makes me feel that not only I won't be buying it off the dealer, but will also mean that when I "sell" the car, I won't be getting much out of it and will leave me empty handed in 4-5 years, am I right to think that? Skoda on the other hand has 10k of residual value which I can easily safe with time and I can work with the money after 5 years when I get to "sell" the car...
So... be the sanity check I need - should I follow my emotions and get the BMW because it's a sportier SUV that will take me farther with its 4x4, or should I play it safe and get the Skoda which will make me feel classier with the more feature it has, but will make me look 10years older the moment I get out of the car... I propose that fault lines may play a significant and under documented role in what is happening with UFOs and specifically the impact of fault lines on some number of UFO related crashes. I suspect energetic effects from fault lines and gravity effects from mass variances in fault lines (especially while active) impact UFO/NHI navigational systems. They may do things like routing around, or via, fault lines.

1. A new leaker: Dijkstra's algorithm and Diablo Canyon.

On May 13th, 2024, a claimed leaker on UFO/NHI related programs posted on /Aliens with details on their history with the "Program".

It's a huge volume of data but one very particular passage instantly stuck out to me:

"The craft use a system that originally befuddled generations of researchers, but it's essentially a 3D dijkstra algorithm. It finds points around the craft, and chooses the most efficient possible route through space time to get to that point. Some of the parameters it uses to gauge efficiency are totally unknown to us and are a serious point of contention. It's not autonomy, but rather obstacle avoidance not unlike what you would see in a self-driving car. But, the self driving car could go through air, space and water without worrying about what medium its in. Additionally, the algo accounts for the crafts place in time."

And then this surprising sentence shortly after:

"Although the algo is extremely effective, Nuclear explosions and experiments somehow interfere with this navigation. Craft particularly avoid Diablo Canyon, even if we put something they really want there."

So, this Dijkstra's algorithm and Diablo Canyon.
I can find not one single prior reference to this anywhere, ever, in all of Ufology prior to that Reddit post.
I think this is entirely new, or new to the Internet for UFO topics.

Why would a UFO avoid a canyon?

2. Energy fields, UFO navigation and "fault lines" in gravity.

There are numerous reports and stories of things like claimed lasers, directed energy weapons/fields, and even allegedly things like RADAR having some manner of detecable impact on navigational capabilities of UFOs/NHI craft. The lore is full of this topic over time, and it aligns substantially with the scientific backgrounds of people known to be involved, like Sean M. Kirkpatrick.
This caught my eye as I've been doing a lot of reading on certain much lesser-known effects of fault lines, after I learned that the home and neighborhood I lived in as a child, where a group of us saw a "saucer", was literally sat atop a small land mass completely encircled like an island by fault lines. This is not unique--there are others. But this was a wild surprise to me, and especially when the flight path of the ship we saw... once I saw the fault lines path/heading...
It was the same route. The thing we saw, once I saw the fault line maps... it was like looking at a snippet of a Google Maps route that the UFO took, for the duration of our experience seeing it. I did not know this for decades.
For the curious, the bread crumb that led down this path was not this whistleblower, fault lines, or my own experience. It was studying Lagrange Points.
What's a Lagrange point?
Positions in space where the gravitational forces of two large bodies, like Earth and the Moon, balance out the centripetal force felt by a smaller object, allowing it to remain in a stable position relative to the two larger bodies. Think of it like the mid-way point between any two bodies with mass that impact gravity. Earth/Jupiter. JupiteSun. Earth moon/Neptune. You/your cat. It's not a 50/50 thing; if you are and your cat are 10 feet away, it's not 5-foot between you. It's also impacted by gravity from other bodies within range (and range is infinite because gravity is, no matter how infinitesimal at long distances).
There is even conceptually such a place, even if it's trivial in variation, between galaxies.
Keep in mind: there are specifically named 3D mapped always-moving (as Earth/moon for example) always-in-motion Lagrange points for the Earth and Moon. Five total--but those are just the optimal ones. There would be a relative band of space where overall the gravity between bodies is more balanced.
Almost like a fault line in gravity, huh?
That, the fault line discovery related to my experience, and my (then) unrelated fault line research which was pure curiosity unrelated to UFOs... at first.

3. Piezoelectrics, Electrokinetics, and Gravitational anomalies.

So we have a new claimed 4D mapping/navigational tool by NHI UFOs, and that they go out of their way to avoid some "Diablo canyon" no matter what we do. We know definitively there are places where gravity can have relative weak spots, due to the balancing of gravitational waves/forces/mass between bodies. All bodies with mass produce gravity... including tectonic plates.
But that's not all they produce in terms of energy.
Fault lines can generate three different distinct effects beyond seismic (shaking/motion) impacts on the world.
They are:
Stress-induced Piezoelectric Effects
Stress-induced piezoelectric effects refer to the generation of electrical charges in certain crystalline materials, such as quartz, when mechanical stress is applied. These effects are caused by tectonic stress and strain in the Earth's crust, which deforms the crystalline structures, generating electric fields. Here are all nearby relevant fault lines for each.
This section took a substantial amount of digging/cross referencing over weeks. I had begun this for a fiction/story idea that didn't pan out, and did not save the litany of sources I read. This is a summary.

6. Conclusion

Simply, some variables on the navigational systems of the UFO craft which rely on precise 4-dimensional mapping for their navigational system, with implied near real time adjustments across all parameters, are negatively impacted by unexpected or significant enough to not be able to compensate for impacts from native Earth effects generated by tectonic plate actions, in specific key locations.
I'd often suspected if there was something like this related to the handful of known crashes, and them seeming to be concentrated in certain areas. With this leaker, we see another few possible pieces of a puzzle filling.
Are they legitimate? We obviously can't tell, today. But this new data sure does align with:

1. Reports of the USA trying to "bait" UFOs.
2. Reports of the USA utilizing nuclear facilities to this end.
3. UFO engagement with nuclear sites.
4. UFOs reportedly avoiding certain areas, not limited to prior crash locations.
5. UFOs reportedly being seen over time in the same places or repeated routes/locations.
6. The USA getting big into gravity research along these lines (gravity scanners for military).
7. Elizondo references to LIGO.
8. And more beyond, that I'm sure more of you can recite from memory than I could.

Maybe this has some part of the genesis of the mythology of ley lines, because ancient humans couldn't possibly on their own know all these things. Were they just energetically charged fault lines that had some manner of intersection over time with UFOs?
If anyone wants to run with this or research equivalent sites in other parts of the world and their intersection with UFOs/UAPs, this may be a worthwhile rabbit hole for pursuit.

Like the title says, my mom leaves the car running with the garage door closed. She can remotely turn her car on and I guess she does to warm it up in the morning. I get it if it’s 2-3 minutes, but there are times where she leaves it running for 5-10+ minutes. I can’t tell how long she leaves it running for because she warms up the car early in the morning while I’m asleep, and for whatever reason I manage to wake up to hear the car running, and run to open the garage door. My [28F] best friend [30F] Katie and I met back in college and we became quite close and lived together at about 19/21
She doesn’t drive but when we got closer I started bringing her to work with me to cocktail waitress. I had to change the one I was working at because they denied her and we had to go to one an hour away but it was fine I loved being able to hang with her so often.
After that year she graduated, moved a state away ~ 2/3 hours drive.
When Katie first moved she was pretty lonely so i would visit her frequently, sometimes every single week. I would go there for entire weekends, birthdays, holidays, sometimes to take her to work with me up there, etc.
For example things like she had a brief fling with someone who hurt her so I sent a gift and then visited the next few weekends. When her cat died I did the same with a gift and visited, i rented an Airbnb when her grandfather died so she could grieve with me away from roommates, etc.
She has come to visit me twice and sent a gift once. We of course still talked ~5 days a week if not daily and still do to this day.
2 summers ago she got engaged and for the proposal I was there among one other friend and the rest was 50+ people entirely family that’s how close we are.
Since that summer I had a huge breakup of ~8 year relationship it was pretty rough and ended up in psych ward. I then had surgery, separately spent almost a month in hospital and almost died . I also had a bad car accident, and she forgot my birthday.

Okay so i went out with this guy that i met at his station, i was washing my car there. He talked to me, we went out more than 5 times, and went to his house too. He tried to kiss me after 1 week, but after another week he tried again and i kissed back, it was nice. We went out again and this times for drinks at a pub, when i dropped him off (his car is low and on the way to my house his car would for sure break-thats a good reason but still he should have made an effort and come using the long way). Anyways when dropping him off he kissed me and started putting his hands down there and i was refusing telling him its too early. He then approached me in way thats not elegant like it needs steps, he just said do me a blowjob or taste it. I was like no. He left. Then we saw each other the day after, we went to his apartment, talked and watched some videos. He started again putting his hands down there. The apartment is being renovated so its somehow dirty and ghetto couch is dirty, there is no vibe. He then said give me a blow job then again i rejected him. He then "attacked me" by saying ur always in ur comfort zone, u dont try something new, you dont like adventures, and started giving me silly examples as in trying a new restaurant. about a month after i rented a vehicle from avis, i get a text from sedgwick claims regarding my avis rental and a claim number. i obviously thought this was a scam but after looking into it further and calling avis directly, it was a valid damage claim. it was also confirmed through the demand letter i received in the mail a few days later. i thought this was total bullsht because i had no issues or altercations during the rental. having denied coverage from avis, i 100% believe avis pursued me for responsibility since i was the last renter. the one time i don't take pictures or record the vehicle at time of pickup, i get hit with this.
after scanning through some pictures and videos of the trip, the damage was definitely preexisting. i sent it to avis/sedgwick but it wasn't enough to fight it on my own. i suppose it was my own fault for not doing my due diligence at time of pickup, but whatever. lesson learned. the total due including admin fees, repair estimate, loss of use, etc was $1365.07.
then comes premium car rental protection. i have this enrolled on my green card (downgraded from gold) for $25 per rental and would be my first time using it. i call up amex assurance and explained the situation. they helped me create a case, which i now know i can do online on my own. i sent in/uploaded all the requested documents to amex, including the closed rental agreement, demand letter, itemized repair estimate, etc. the claim was submitted on 5/2 and closed today at 5/14. all dues paid. there was a diminishment of value fee of $66.73 that was denied under premium, but was covered under the standard car rental loss and damage insurance.
big weight lifted off my shoulders. i didn't have to go through my own insurance and i didn't have to communicate with avis/sedgwick throughout the process. for about $25 per rental NOT per day, this is definitely worth it.

Hello folks! I finally leased a Polestar 2. Had been eyeing one for years and the latest lease deal with the Costco rebate was hard to pass.
 
I have a few questions:

1. Is there any way to set up the screen to show my right side camera's view, when I turn on the right turn indicator? My Honda had that feature and I miss that quite a bit.
2. Can I roll the windows up (or down) using the mobile app?
3. The "Charge" screen shows an "Set Amperage Limit" section. Is that something I should be playing with at all? Or should I let it stay in the default 48A value?
4. Where do you all leave things like sunglasses and coins (for the rare parking meters that don't accept credit cards) and such in your car? There doesn't seem to be a "central console" like most cars do.
5. What's your preferred driving settings? I am slowly learning to use full regen, but so far have needed to keep "Creep" on.
6. What's your opinion of Pilot? Does Adaptive Cruise Control work very well or has anyone experienced phantom breaking (like in Teslas)? Is the lane centering decent? I use both ACC and lane centering extensively on my Honda and it works well (ACC works very well, lane centering works until the lanes are faded or the road turns too much).

 
Any recommendations on what all I should be setting up? Like apps for the car (I glanced at the store, but did not find anything that stood out).

My father has received a lump sum of $270k. He is settled in a 1.5 bed rental accommodation close by and in good health, after living with us for the last 2 years. He pays $550 pw, plus minor bills (heat pump, food, insurance).
He has just bought a 3-year-old low mileage fuel efficient car with cash (17k), but mostly uses public transport.
Advice please on planning for an active 10 years, and options to transition to supported living/care home after that. He is happy with the rental, but if it was his own place you could spend $30k on it to significantly improve it.
He has never been good with money, exacerbated by several divorces, and as a result in spite of a good pension has ended up in rental accommodation with few assets.
Initial thoughts are:

• move the money to perhaps three offset 6 month term deposits (1/3 split) to allow him time to think through the options.
  
• longer term whether this lump sum would provide sufficient deposit to extend my mortgage to buy a 1 bedroom property that he would then rent. Immediate concern is transparency with other siblings and what happens when he needs to move to some form of care. Indicatively I'm seeing one bedroom granny flats in the $550-600k range. This would make the 'rental' slightly more than he is currently paying but he is attracted to his own home.
  

An alternative preferred option is we have space to put a prefab c. 50-75sqm unit on our section. I'd be more confident of doing this within the lump sum. Still leaves residual issues on estate planning and how our land is reflected to resolve.
We are encouraging him to ensure he has powers of attorney and will up to date and inplace.

My gf & I have been together for almost 13 months now.
She's my cousin which means her father is the brother to my mother (it's not inappropriate or taboo in my country to be in a relationship with your cousin FYI) & she's very caring - considerate - kind - overall great & we go on date nights regularly. Even had intercourse a couple times. Never fought or cursed / yelled at each other & only had 3 - 4 calm arguments where we talked about an issue over the phone. The issue being:
She believes she's not important to me even though honest to god - I love her greatly. She studies in a university - works a 9 - 5 & goes to gym every other day. We text during the day & I try to reply asap to hers. I make sure to call her when she's off from work when I was busy during the day & couldn't text her - & we talk at length about different topics. We go on date nights once every two weeks for two reasons both of which are because of me. 1st being it's a 90 minutes drive from my place to hers & I have to use my father's car. 2nd being I'm currently unemployed (finished my mandatory military service 3 months ago & I'm burning through my savings) & even though sometimes she pays our checks with no complains - I'd like to be the one paying & for her to save her money.
A couple of nights ago I called her to ask about her day & her answers were cold (either one word or short sentences). When I asked what's wrong, she brought up the argument that she believes she's not important to me & that she's disappointed that I ditch her to do other things, then continued to talk about instances of me "ditching" her the past couple of weeks when tbh I actually was busy with something, wasn't my intention to make her feel bad.
I tried explaining & that I'll try to make it up to her but she kept saying that I don't "understand" what she meant & started talking from the beginning. This happened 2 - 3 times & she kept mentioning that I didn't "understand" her words which made me slightly angry, to which I said: maybe "we" should spend a couple days away from each other to think about what the other person means since I don't "understand" what you're saying & talk to each other again in 2 or 3 days - to which she replied sarcastically: "take your time. you like spending time away from me anyway".
Afraid that our argument might turn into a fight, I said goodbye, waited to hear hers & then hung up. We haven't communicated in anyway for 3 days.
I intend to fix my relationship because I love her very much. But here's my question:
How can I assure my girlfriend that she mean more than everything to me? How do I show her my affection & feelings other than hugging - kissing or saying things like "I love you" to her? How do I make this "insecurity" of hers go away?
TLDR: My GF Thinks She's Not Important to Me (even though she is & I love her very much) & It's Causing Serious Problems to Our Relationship. How Do I Assure Her That She IS In Fact Important to Me?

Im 18 and am livng at home with my mom and 2 youger siblings, but I will be leaving for university in the fall. My dad is not really around and doesn't live with us and my mom has to work so I help out by making dinner, doing the dishes, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom and laundry while helping taking care of my brothers. I just have something I want to get off my chest. Just less than an hour ago my mom told me to go walk over to my brother's school so I can pick him up while she picks up my other brother because she's running late. I don't have a car and I've never walked to his school before so I pull everything up on Google maps and I see that it's going to take 30 minutes to get there. So, I decide to call and Uber and the driver is 10 minutes away but the drive to the school is only 6 minutes, so I decide to book it. About 5-6 minutes into waiting my mom calls me back and tells me how far I am from the school and I explain everything about the Uber and how its quiker, but she gets really mad when she learns I'm waiting for one. She then curses at me and tell me to cancel the uber then she hangs up. Then, I decide to go ahead and walk to my brothers school but of course my mom gets there faster in her car while im walking. She then drops me and my brother off at home and told me how I don't care and treat her like she's stupid and I don't listen to on her, and how shes disappointed also while she berates me some more. Now, she's driven off somewhere to work in a cafe or skmthjng, leaving me and my brother at home to clean.
I usually take the time to write better and correct my grammar, but I just wanted to hurry up and tell this to anybody who can read it or give me advice. Event like this happen and I usually lose my nerve and forgive so I don't end up doing anything. If I did something wrong, please point it out. Also, my mom always tells me how thankfully she is.for.me and all I do and she compliments me.and is really nice but she does also call me stupid l, useless and basically the exact opposite when shes mad. I really do care about her she's my mom after all, but this has happend a lot and Its getting harder to know if I should take what she says to heart or not depending on her mood. Neutral Special: Ventilation
Springtrap enters a vent in the ground. Acts Like meta knights peek a boo with some minor differences. First after a random amount of time the opponent will become poisoned and lightweight. After all theres a thing in vents its harder to get clean air. After another amount of random time a random phantom animatronic will appear and stalk the opponent. If it hits the opponent they will become dizzy. Sounds broken right. Well while in the vents will also takes damage. And after a random amount of time will be bouted out at a random part of the stage with the dizzy effect. Could happen before or after a phantom spawns but will always happen after the light wight poison. So it’s a very risk and reward move how much damage do you wanna take, the opponent is light do i strike now or risk getting booted for the phantom. Also can only move horizontally and puts you in free fall if existed in the air
Side Special: Plushtrap
Plushtrap appears in front of Afton and chases the nearest foe. Only one plushtrap can be on screen per afton player at a time. When it manages to hit a foe it act like a stronger pikmin that will take 5 seconds to disappear where it takes no time to spawn another one. If After 30 seconds the plushtrap never hits someone it will naturally disappear where it takes 15 seconds to spawn another one. And it will freeze for 2 seconds if hit by a projectile. Finally it can’t fall off cliffs nor can it jump so it will never be in the air. unless spawned in the where it acts like a Pikmin spawned in the air. Also wouldn’t change anything mechanically but it has a 1/10 chance to summon a bunny from princess quest. Specifically the flying ones that appear in the beginning. And a 1/50 chance to summon vanny. Again changes nothing except visual
Up Special: Malware
Afton turns into springtrap as a tentacle comes out of his body. You can point to which direction you want the tentacle to appear. It acts as a basic tether recovery with one caveat. If it hits a foe they will have a 25% chance to become infected. When infected your directions reverse and out of every 16 attacks 1 of them will not go through and leave you vulnerable. You will be infected for sixteen second before you are cured. Now to balance it out if the attack is used and doesn’t connect to a stage or player there will be heavy end lag and will put you in free fall if used in the air. So always be careful when using this move
Down Special: Bite of 83
As Springtrap Will Bites Down. acts exactly like wario's neutral special.
Final Smash: Missing Character incident
A cinematic final smash. The smash starts with afton throwing a rainbow knife as a refrence to the move slasher in Fnaf World. Any one hit by the rainbow knife has a 1/10 chance to instantly lose stock. But if that one in ten chance fails they enter the cinematic. It shows the character at a birthday party before they’re lured away by a 3d model for spring bonnie.it then cuts to black before showing the character trapped in a golden freddy suit. Racking up tons of damage but no knockback. However if the opponents damage goes over 100% it is an instant stock loss

Every costume has both a different color for will and a different springtrap variant. And you can pick which springtrap variant you want with whatever afton you want. So you could have alt 3 afton with an alt 7 springtrap.

This is a long one and I’m sorry! My (24f) boyfriend (29m) and I had been together for almost 5 years. Everything was great up until my spring break the first week of April.(I am a middle school teacher) I mean seriously we were great on Easter Sunday (March 31) and by Monday (April 1) it was completely different. I wake up that morning and call him good morning when he informs me he wouldn’t be able to come over that day due to work stuff. I was fine with that and went on with our conversation but by the end of the conversation he was very short and seemed a bit distant. This was around 8:30 am and I didn’t hear from him for the rest of the day. Tuesday morning comes and we are having horrible tornadoes where I live and they hit really hard where he lives (around 20 minutes away).I am texting him at around 9:30 am to check on him with no response. Meanwhile I’m really scared and have nowhere to go for safety due to having no friends or family in the area. I live on the top floor (2) of my apartment building so I go take shelter in the bathtub. I call my mom during all of this because I am quite nervous about it all. I still hear nothing from him all day. I finally had to call him around 4pm just to check on him and he finally answers, let’s me know he is ok, and he seems more normal so we talked a bit and that was the end of the conversation. Wednesday morning I call him to say good morning like always and he acts like he doesn’t want to be on the phone at all. I told him I’d let him go work and that was all I heard from him that day. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday pass and I get no response from him at all. I am overthinking everything and I am a worried mess about everything that is going on. Finally on Sunday I text him to let him know I was praying for him and I loved him. He texts me back “it’s not you. Just not myself rn” I text him back and let him know I support him in whatever is going on and I am here if he wants to talk about it. I get no response. A week goes by and no response even tho I was trying to check on him. (I know you probably think I’m crazy being this patient but I genuinely loved this man) I finally decide I’m going to pop by just to see that he was home and ok. Well, he is outside his house when I drive by. So he walks over to my car. He stands at the passenger window. And proceeds to seem upset that I am there. I apologized to him if I was out of line showing up but told him I needed to make sure he was ok because I was really worried about him. He proceeds to tell me he is just going through a lot mentally at the moment and didn’t feel like himself at the moment. He said he wanted space to try to collect his mind. (Never did he say it in a “I don’t wanna be with you” way) I agreed, told him I’d support him however he needed and I went on my way. Fast forward another 2 weeks with no responses at all. I only texted him a couple times to let him know I was still there for him and to let me know if he needed anything. I am finally at my breaking point because not knowing what is going on with my relationship and having to pretend I am okay every day was hard on me. All of this took a toll on me mentally as well. I finally text him and just kinda ask where we are and what is going on. I was very respectful and was basically asking for clarification to know how to process my own emotions. He proceeds to tell me that I am making everything he is going through about myself and that he was clear about what he wanted. And me showing up to check on him wasn’t okay and that it messed him mental space up more than it already was. I didn’t know how to respond so I didn’t. After this he begins posting about me without saying my name and how he can’t even go through something without people making it about them. So AITA for assuming we aren’t together anymore?

I 35F have 2 girls 8 and 5. They are car riders after several issues on the bus. I WFH full time and have done so for more than a decade. I am also taking classes to get my business degree. Call load is slow this time of year so I have several mins between calls. I use this time to work on homework household things or just watch TV. I run the household completely. If it needs to be done I DO IT.
My long time partner my girls father, 50M whatever you want to call him is disabled and is medical retired. Although he has some limitations he is still quite capable in every day life. We have lived together for most our relationship. I have curated a life a life him that allows him to sleep all day and the only thing he has to worry about is taking his next breath.
I am get the girls up and to school everyday. Pack the lunches, brush the teeth and argue that socks need to be worn. I work 830 -5 pm M-F. School is M-Th and out at 340. I am working at release so you would think their father who has not other household responsibilities besides take the trash out and buy his own razors could set in the carline for 30 mins. It's is quite within is physical limits to sit in the AC and wait. NOPE!
He refuses to most days stating he is in too much pain or he has other things to do. I am discounting his pain. I know when he is just having a bad day and I make arrangements to get the girls home.
My issues is those days were he has just been running up and down the street burning gas for no other reason than he's bored. He is doing nothing for the household or himself. By time 330 rolls around he's done. He has exhausted himself like a toddler coming down from a sugar high.
He thinks that because I am sitting at my desk on my phone or tablet ON the clock that I am no doing anything. That I can just log off when ever I want to take care of anything and everything. If you have ever worked any kind of call center work you know you cant.
Yesterday I refused. The school called ME first and I told them to call their father. He was down the street with a friend doing nothing. He took the call then texted me to get them. I responded with should not be the primary parent when he doesn't work is quite capable of taking care of them. I blocked him and the SRO called him. He got them over an hr late and gas a nice fine in his name. Am I the asshole?

This is just my opinion but as much as we love these games and think they are near perfect racing games, I also want this series to avoid going the cod and fifa way where it’s the same game but a different map or something. And since they have near perfected driving in 5, it is almost difficult for them to innovate for 6 unless they take a few extra steps. What they should add: 1. Motorcycles- This should definitely be a part of FH6 and is the easiest way for them to make it not feel the same as 5. I didn’t really want motorcycles untill i played midnight club and I realised Forza is missing motorcycles badly. It would also actually make character customisation useful as your character will be more visible. 2. An actual storyline- Nobody really plays Forza for the story but maybe the one thing pushing away certain people is the lack of a proper story. If they add a dedicated even short story, it will go a long way. 3. An actual city- i know we had a good one in fh3 but the Forza games are notorious for not having vibrant cities and the fact it doesn’t lean into the street scene as much as it could. It definitely needs a massive city like Tokyo.
Honorable Mention: These are features that are a bit risky but if done well can really make the games better. I think they should add boats in the game but only if they make the map multiple islands. With the use of boats, they can allow us to seamlessly travel between islands which will make exploration even more fun. The only reason this is an honorable mention is because the inclusion of boats might be unappealing to people who like cars and bikes due to the slower pace. But i think this would be a nice addition.
Overall, if i had to pick one feature it would be having bikes and boats alongside the map variety because it would breathe new air into the series.

I am setting up awesomewm and using Lua and Bash script for the first time. I was able to get this working, so on the one hand it might appeal to other beginners as an accessible project, and on the other this is a good juncture to seek out feedback from those who know better ways. u/digost explained to me about mkfifo yesterday and already that let me do something new in this.
wallpaper can be set up in rc.lua by adding the line awful.spawn.with_shell("feh --bg-scale ~/FILENAME.png"), so if this file is replaced with another png a different wallpaper will load
conky the system monitor is installed from pacman and it can be given its own background by following the installation guide to generate a config file at ~/.config/conky/conky.conf and adding or editing a line to the top of the conky.text section

Where 450x450 is the image size and -50 is an offset to get it to appear in the right place. These small images are about the same size as the cheapest generative-AI option, which I found for fractions of a penny and that's what gave me the idea. I will try not to promote or even mention the particular provider since it is non-Free.
conky configuration is something that some people spend time on as part of ricing. Although a basic process of pulling an image from the internet should stay the same across awesomewm themes, there could be limitless complexity in getting images to reliably visually-cohere. If the conky and the wallpaper come from related prompts into the same Model, then hopefully they can cohere at least sometimes, but for now I've just gone with colour red.
My first step is to create a salt list of theme words. I went to a free/non-passworded chatbot and asked it for a list of words to do with cars and trucks and fire and chrome. These go into a text file with a space at the start of each entry

The " at the start is needed for .json request's format - as can be seen from the other lines. The [ on the end is there as a delimiter but ended up not being used: the API just ignores it.
For this site this is enough to start with. The prompt is set up with a script, which is also used to launch the process once everything is in place:-

The first line clears any leftover fifo files from previous times the script has run. The main body of this joins the parts of the .json prompt together into a compliant format, in the file conkies.TEXT-prompter.sh The shuf commands pull three salt-words into the prompt. The perl command takes a newline off the end of the conkies.TEXTtemplate which otherwise breaks the format. There are some syntax marks at the end of the file, the " one needs an escape character.
conkies.TEXT-prompter.sh is then run; the data that comes back from the API of the service provider is written into the fifo; and a new shell is opened for the IMAGE prompter.
Hopefully the data that comes back from the API is a prompt. If it's an error-message or the money has run out the resulting images might be very strange!
The IMAGE prompter also has to be set up beforehand. The IMAGE provider I used had a slightly more complex format than the TEXT provider I used, so it had to be made from a start section, the TEXT-prompt, and an end section. The format was on their website and involved some intricacies to do with different Models being compatible with different versions of Lora.

They are launched at the end as conkies.IMAGE-prompter.sh, which downloads a timestamped .png file from the image provider.

To make wallpaper instead would need to change the image size in the conkies.IMAGEtemplate file and point rc.lua to the folder it's been downloaded into.
To generate a wallpaper and conky background at the same time I think it would be easiest to duplicate everything to another folder, so that the text prompts are not the same.

There are various problems. Any changes to the API will break it but that is in the nature of these things. Both API providers required accounts. With the text-provider I am on some trial limit they have which is more than enough free requests per month to make these conky prompts, but it might be monetized in the future. The image-provider I had to pay for but it's the minimum amount. It might be that the credits expire and my conky becomes a financial commitment. But for this $10 I could generate a lifetime supply of pictures of what AI thinks cars look like... with wing-mirrors only for the passengers :D
From zero-knowledge I've been able to use a named pipe to connect two APIs together, and used bash script to manipulate text into compliant formats for .json requests. I'm becoming conscious that simple tasks have to be broken down into more stages and more files than it initially appears and this becomes messy. I generally have nothing in place to check each script is outputting in the right form, or to give error messages. If I accidentally included one special character in the text prompt, that would break the image output, but if I include any comment lines to warn myself then the script will have to check for those and remove them... so I just have to remember.

I have a 1989 5.0 lx and it was running ok until just recently. Last week, I got stuck in traffic on the freeway for two hours and ever since then the car is having trouble starting and staying on. I have to crank the engine for 2-3 seconds otherwise it will die. It has been shutting off at random times as well(mostly when parking), and not just the engine. The entire car. I've been reading and a possible solution has been a new ignition switch. Any suggestions?

I’m a chinchilla owner, I have 2 male cage mates they’re around 4-5yrs I’ve had them since August 2022.
My city is currently under evacuation watch. Some areas have already been evacuated, due to a massive WILDFIRE.
I need advice on how to help my boys stay safe under the event of an evacuation.

1. I have a pet taxi, it’s like a cat/small dog carrier. Should I keep it empty, or should I put aspen bedding on the bottom? Or a blanket?
   
2. Should I keep their water bottle attached to the carrier, or should I offer it sometimes? If the latter, how often should I offer it?
   
3. How long will they be okay in a small enclosure? I know it’s not ideal but this is an emergency and I’m 99% sure I won’t have room to take their cage.
   
4. How to keep them cool if the car AC gives out or the fires get crazy?
   
5. Should I put a blanket over their crate when the smoke is strong to protect them?
