He “liked” my prompt on Hinge and since then we’ve been messaging on the app everyday for 2 weeks. I asked him if he wanted to meet and he said he could do Sunday or Tuesday and would get back to me about a time that worked but he didn’t and we continued messaging without mentioning meeting. In hindsight, I should’ve asked what time worked for him but it felt embarrassing that I was more into planning a meeting than he was. I ended up messaging him Friday that I wanted to meet him and he said, “I felt bad. The week was chaotic”. I don’t understand why he doesn’t just take initiative to schedule a time to meet me... the only initiative he’s taken was “liking” my profile but he hasn’t asked for my number and hasn’t scheduled a time to meet me. I’m getting a little bored of the texting and suspicious that he has a gf because he hasn’t asked for my number and isn’t making plans with me. I want to unmatch him because it doesn’t feel like he has any intention of meeting me and I don’t like how he’s treating me. Am I reading this situation wrong?

So I enrolled in a 101 language class online at a local community College. It starts Wednesday. I read over the syllabus and did the first assignment- introducing myself today. Since, then, the voices have been going crazy screaming at me. I know stress makes them worse and I have been lying in bed since with my music loud trying to distract and failing. I gave in and took 20mg haldol prn about an hour and half ago and finally they're quietening. I don't think I can do this course when even the first assignment has me falling apart and it was in English! The syllabus said to dedicate 20 hours a week , I don't know that I'm well enough 20 hours a week plus remembering vocabulary and grammar. I just got out the hospital and I'm scared of ending up back there. Stress being a big trigger. I can't be taking haldol everyday and there are video meetings for the class which I'm terrified of.
However, I'll feel like a failure if I quit before I give it a go. On the other hand I'll definitely know im a failure if I get an F. There's also the cost, if I quit in the next few days I get a full refund, which is not an insignificant amount though my recent hospital stay cost over double so I guess it's not that much it's more the mental aspects.
Any advice please?

I wanna make a really popular comic book but I dont think people even read comics anymore. Comics aren't like manga, which are really popular, (i think). like, Batman, V for Vendetta are really popular, and I want my comic book to be also very popular, but how will it be popular if nobody even reads it. I don’t know, it isn’t that bad I guess. It’s just so constant I can’t deal with it anymore while also being a happy and present wife and mother.
Literally if my stepson is in the room, I can predict with certainty that he is going to interject to patronizingly tell me how to do something I was already doing, confidently correct me on something he’s totally wrong about, or give me unsolicited advice on how to do some basic adult task he has obviously no knowledge of.
It’s hard to overstate how constant it is. If I am walking towards an elevator, he’ll announce “the elevator is this way” and race past me to make it seem like I wouldn’t have found it without him. After I push the elevator button, he will loudly deliberate “UM let’s see it’s on this floor” and hit the button I had already hit, thereby undoing it and pointlessly prolonging our trip. Then he’ll authoritatively ask, “Do you have the passports? You’re going to need them.” despite the fact that I’ve been traveling since before he was born and have never previously forgotten the passports.
When I’ll tend to absolutely lose it is when I ask my husband a question like, “Which terminal is our airline in?” a question my stepson can’t possibly know the answer to, and reliably without fail he’ll answer loudly and arbitrarily before my husband has a chance “it’s probably terminal 2, it’s always in terminal 2 in other airports, it most likely is here too” or some other random unhelpful input that makes it so I can’t hear my husband’s actual answer and I just snap, like stfu and let the knowledgeable adult handle something PLEASE.
This would be annoying no matter what, but he’s 6’3” and loud, towers over me, and just generally comes off as super domineering. It’s not like a little kid where you can just patiently ignore it. He comes off as an intimidating and imposing mansplainer lol.
My phrase I’ve started saying every time is, “If I need help I’ll tell you” but it doesn’t slow the rate much. I’m currently taking space sitting in a far opposite end of an airport lounge, really unsure of how to move forward short of disengaging.

I'm not talking about a guy with nice passing ability. I mean a true primary gaurd, a player who (in a vacuum) can run the entire court. I ask this because every year guys project people with good passing instincts and "playmaking flashes" as future floor generals, and it just simply never happens. I don't think this is a skill than you can project growth with like shooting or defense. You have to be trained as a PG to actually run the team by the time you reach the NBA
for example Booker and Ant are guys that have great passing ability and can make the correct read off of the gravity they generate, but there's a clear difference to when they had/have Rubio/CP3/Conley with them. Tatum and SGA also fit into this category of good passers that utilise their gravity with the ball in their hands.
Tyus Jones on the other hand, doesn't have star scoring ability at all but he's clearly a real PG. He controls the entire tempo when the ball is in his hands, he doesn't just make correct reads, he sets them up in advance.
Out of the top players in this draft, only Topic looks like a lead gaurd to me (if you wanna go to late 1st/ early 2nd Kolek does too). Everyone else: Shepherd, Castle, Dillingham, Carrington, Collier, all just look like Combo gaurds with great passing ability/instincts. Great secondary playmakers at best, but I really don't see any of them running the floor like a Haliburton does.

Hey all! This is a bit weird for me being almost 40 and looking for friends. But here I am anyways lol. Mainly looking for someone to message throughout the day and get to know. Maybe game with if we have that in common. I do work from home so there’s no one to really talk to during the day.
I’m married and have 2 kids, a 6 month old son and a 9 year old daughter. I’m into basic nerdy things. Gaming, star wars, super heroes, DnD, anything Disney, etc. Also trading card games like Disney Lorcana and Star Wars Unlimited.
I watch a ton of Critical Role stuff especially Campaign 3! Currently on episode 74, so if you watch too, let me know! Also like to watch Battle of the Brands on YouTube.
I’m also into movies and tv, some sports, pro wrestling. Collecting action figures and retro games is one of hobbies as well. Anything 80s/90s nostalgia i absolutely love so if you want to talk childhood and growing up back then, i’m down! I miss the good old days where we went to arcades and italian sunday dinners at the grandparents and where the world just wasn’t as nutso as it is today lol.
My kids are everything to me and I do love talking about them. Love being silly with them and spending time with them (when they aren’t driving me crazy 🤪 lol)..I would prefer you be around my age and have kids as well just so we have that stuff in common off the bat! I’m socially awkward most times but very easy to get along with. I’m definitely considered an introvert. But once you get to know me I break out of that awkward shell. I do like to use sarcasm, and mostly like to try and make people laugh because a world without laughter would just be horrible.

24F here, was diagnosed with cyclothymia at 14 then bipolar II at 18. I haven’t cycled in while, like 6 months to a Year. A week or two ago I started feeling like I didn’t need coffee to be productive, then I started feeling irritated with my coworkers including my boss. Then I started over sharing and I knew I was slipping into hypomania.
Ive been on lithium for 5 (wow) years now and it’s been doing wonders for me- 90% of the time I almost forget I have bipolar and live a normal life. (It hasn’t always been that way…)
Mania is tricky for me, it’s like I have to constantly monitor myself and make sure I’m not being “too much”, as sad as that is. I constantly feel too much in my relationships (even at base line).
I don’t think I want or really need advice right now - I have so many tools on my toolbox which is good. I think what I’m looking for is just feel validated and understood and related to.
At least I’m venting about my mania on Reddit instead of talking to randos at the pool hall (which is was I almost did tonight) haha :)

There is a price to Faster Than Light travel. A veritable one depending on the Stellar Domain being traversed, a trip might necessitate an offering or a sacrifice of some kind, usually food or items of sentimental value. Rarely has a Domain Warden asked for anything more beyond that as most of their Arch Demon masters would rather not let their main source of Axiomatic power be 'depleted'.
This is the most common case for intra-domain travel. The real trouble begins when you try to cross into another.
Arch Demons don't tend to like their 'property' escaping their clutches, so there is a hefty toll that must be paid to them before they agree to send you over. Not only that, chances are likely that the Domain you wish to travel to is already harbouring another Arch. In that case, you would not only need to satisfy your previous 'benefactor' but also convince the other to allow you entrance.
If that wasn't enough to discourage you, then there is also the lack of protection during your transit to the new domain. See, the reason why Stellar Domains even exist is because the Arch Demons that rule them exude a presence that wards off their unintelligent kin, so with that gone, you're a flying dinner bell.
Every moment your ship stays in Chtho-Space, more and more Lesser Demons will come for you like sharks to chum. They will surround you, their uncountable numbers hollering and scratching at your hull for as long as you can withstand. And if you're still sane, their tricks will become worse, their actions bolder than before. Illusions of the dead, cold whispers into the ears, and the feeling of being watched from the darkness are a few examples of what the Lesser Demons are capable of, but they are not their limits. Remember, never show them what you fear.
The reason for this madness is simple, and it is due to the incorporeal nature of Lesser Demons. As beings formed of pure Chthonic energy, they cannot interact with the Real-Space as is, they require a conduit to affect the material realm. In other words, they must possess a sapient creature.
To do so, an individual on board will be chosen as the vessel and the Demons will haunt them until either the ship reaches its destination 'safely', or they give in. That's when the slaughter begins.
The person, whose mind no longer belongs, will be reborn into a Corporeal Demon and kill off the rest of the crew with powers beyond the understanding of most in this galaxy to ensure its competition is at a minimum. Corpses can't be possessed after all.
With its newly secured intellect, the Corporeal Demon may do one of two things, become a Domain Warden under the watchful eye of an Arch or attempt to ascend into one. And whether it succeeds or fails, the galaxy is darker for it, such is the doomed fate of those under the rule of Demons.
Forever cursed to serve, be used, and forgotten. Everything they once were, boiled down to insignificant specks of blood in a galaxy that lost against Chtho-Space thousands of years ago.
Nevertheless.
As Demons seek to create a world without peace, one mirroring their own, they are bound to find those who are more than up to the task of defending it.
And it is in the void between the domains where they settle.
From the Demons' perspective, not much is known about them, other than that they can intrude into Chtho-Space without the permission or knowledge of a Domain Warden. This freedom of movement has allowed these mysterious warriors to battle on equal if not better footing with the Demons as Lessers can only ride the currents of Chtho-Space, not create them.
Seemingly, they also rescue domain migrators from swarms of Lessers. It is maybe how stories of them are so ubiquitous throughout the galaxy. A myth that emboldens the hearts of those under tyranny and plants the seed of rebellion in those who can no longer bear it.
For those that harbour such intent, the Chthonauts are eager for more members, you will only need to proclaim your wish to fight when one of their patrol ships is nearby while in transit between Domains.
Due to this recruitment method, the Chthonauts are an odd group, strictly speaking, as a whole multitude of different species comprises them. All with various traditions and practices that would have been snuffed out under the Demons.
They carry out their demon-hunting duties with corvettes, which are usually attached to a larger battlegroup or mothership, and either attack swarms of Lessers or hunt down singular Corporeals. Aside from that, some operate without the aid of larger ships, penetrating deep into Domains as scouts.
Of the many species sighted on these 'Chthonaut' vessels, a large portion of them appear to be hairless mammalian bipeds. Intercepted communications have revealed that they call themselves, Humans.
They appear to have a history of fighting Demons, even before their spacefaring age. Sources vary from religious texts to fictional tales dating back multiple millennia of the Demons they have encountered, some exhibiting capabilities eerily similar to Arch Demons. Whether the events recounted are true to life remains to be seen, but the Humans of today undeniably match their written portrayals in terms of Demon-hunting prowess.
I do wonder though, how did they remain unconquered before their space age? Most species evolved in a Stellar Domain and the ones that didn't were absorbed all the same when they reached the Axiomatic population threshold that draws in Archs.
Perhaps there were other forces at play, mankind's old text did describe many entities besides Demons. From immortals that leeched the life force of their victims to beings completely antithetical to the concept of Demons. It wouldn't surprise me if these races potentially existed at one point, the intrusion of Chtho-Space did spell doom for the previous masters of this galaxy.
Strangely, while the monsters may differ, mankind is still shown to triumph over impossible odds in these ancient texts. It was a common message, no matter the language or culture, that the human spirit stands tall at the end. A naive proclamation, but one with more bite to it than it probably warrants.

Kinda makes me feel a bit sad, to be honest, I wonder how long stories would take to write when I actually have to work and go to college. I won't stop writing though, so don't worry about that. I wanna make a career out of this.

The way Islam spread to Africa was by colonization and bloodshed. So many Africans were forced to abandon their native practices and culture just to follow the religion of a fucking colonizer. I hate how some Africans today will literally be the most devout followers to an Arab colonizer’s religion. Sometimes even more religious than Arabs themselves! This religion literally erased so much of their culture and even wiped out some of their own people through slavery. To top it off, many of them don’t even know their real name because it’s been changed to an Arabic one. I think sometimes if I had formative experiences that let me not be fearful avoidant of people, and if I had been encouraged as a kid towards of stable career path/job skill, and therefore if I had always been financially secure, then I would have always been in relationships with women. I become angry thinking if I had never grown up in a religious environment I would have realized sooner. There is so much baggage for me now surrounding injustice to women in a way that I don't totally understand or have the words for yet.
I think when I was younger I had sex with men imagining I was fulfilling the role of a "good woman" and feeling proud of myself for that, while not enjoying the sex or the people themselves. I currently am somewhat in a relationship with a feminine man who has helped me know men are humans and can be good humans who are open to being corrected because they truly don't want to cause harm to others. He listens to my boundaries when I say them (though they also have made him sad), but I still have a really hard time knowing and respecting my boundaries. We call each other friends but we also sleep in the same bed together and have sex. During sex I often think if only you were a woman. I could touch you in the ways I wish to touch a woman. I keep on thinking, even though I wish he were a woman, I am appreciative of practicing healthy relationship skills with him and our friendship. I know he's not fulfilled either but both of us are learning and growing and "doing life together" as survival (we met while both suicidal and have genuinely helped one another); as awkward as it can be to have undefined relationship roles, I'm grateful to have his support during this time of my life and to learn how to be a better friend, communicator, etc through him. There are so many mental health issues I'm struggling with and financial instability, that I kind of have to order my problems from most to least pressing. I'm focusing on learning how to develop a healthy relationship to myself and the world (a new perspective outside of shame).
He supports me financially and takes that stress off me partly because I am a source of emotionally safe sex and affection. My employment is spotty and I'm working on building potential careers on the side. While I have a lot to be grateful for, if I had stable finances and a bearable long term career in place, I would be platonic best friends with him and in a romantic and sexual relationship with a woman.
A part of my long term healing process is feeling safe in my own skin and able to navigate the world and connect genuinely and meaningfully with people based on my won self knowledge and self acceptance. I was thinking that to accept myself is to accept "life" itself, its so imperfect and painful but there is always gratitude, joy and medicine that can be focused on so that pride and quiet, simply joy and calm can be dominant. Fear of life and fear of "my bad parts" makes me not want to accept or affirm any of these things as being good and worthwhile.
Anyway, I have to accept myself and life itself and "higher powers" and come to terms with identifying and learning about systemic forces that cause people pain that we then blame ourselves for and feel shame about, so that I can feel mental clarity and throw my hat into the ring as knowing who I am, what i stand for, and what lifestyle I want to live, within the framework of understanding myself as a member of a larger society and just member of humanity. Then knowing this will translate to me being able to have a stable career, because I will feel secure to relate to people with honesty and support of my own self and therefore not always be leaving jobs out of avoidance of people, or leaving jobs because I don't understand my talents and what I'm capable of and how to earn a living in a sustainable not exhausting painful way.
