Hi everyone. I'm relatively new to Tactics Ogre and am enjoying playing the game for the first time. I've been doing some research on resistances and would appreciate some clarification. Some of these interactions are not intuitive for me. Thanks for your help!

Also, if your character's affinity is strong against an attacking affinity, then the damage value from resistances can actually go below a neutral value. Is this pretty much right?

If the attacker's Action element is strong against the defender’s Affinity, the defender's Elemental Resistance that will apply is the element that is strong against the former's element (i.e. it will check the defender's equipment for which element to best use). This cannot reduce the attacker's modifier bonus to below 0 (i.e. if the elemental resistance > the damage bonus, this will reduce the damage bonus to 0).Does this mean with dark affinity characters I should equip dark elemental gear for resistance against light?
If the attacker's Action element is weak against the defender’s Affinity, the defender's Elemental Resistance that will apply is the element that matches the defender’s Affinity.
Also, if your character's affinity is strong against an attacking affinity, then the damage value from resistances can actually go below a neutral value. Is this pretty much right?
If the attacker’s weapon Element is strong against the defender’s Affinity, apply the weapon’s elemental damage value as a percentage modifier to the Stat Overhead. (For example, if the defender is ice, a weapon with 20 fire would increase the Stat Overhead by 20%.)So I understand that having a light character use light magic with ripples rod cudgel in the primary hand and a shield/dagger in the off-hand will increase magic damage (I guess weapon element doesn't really matter). Does this also apply to weapons such as daggers. As in casting dark magic against light character will do more damage if an elemental dagger is equipped in the primary hand with something in the offhand?
If the spell’s Element is strong against the defender’s Affinity, apply the weapon’s elemental damage (regardless if it matches the spell’s Element or not) as a percentage modifier to the Stat Overhead. (For example, if the defender is ice, and the spell used is fire, and the weapon has an elemental value of 20–regardless if it’s ice or fire or some other element–the Stat Overhead would increase by 20%.)
Currently, spellcasters don’t get to apply any bonuses (including elemental damage bonuses) from their weapon if they are either wielding a two-handed weapon or wielding a one-handed weapon and nothing in the offhand.
The bug is that for defenders, instead of using the corresponding defense values, the defense value used is dependent on the weapon used in the defender’s primary hand.How does this affect damage? For example does 30 resistance decrease damage by 30% if your character resistance matches the damage of your primary weapon?

Apologies for the wall of text incoming. This is my first time dealing with this level of incompetency, so I'm not sure what to do. I just got back from my Honeymoon of two weeks. The week prior to departing, I put in a mail hold request for the duration which went through and was confirmed. On the second day of the trip, I see an Informed Delivery message indicating 4 pieces of mail were coming, but I don't know if Informed Delivery during a mail hold is just indicative of what is being held, or if it's going to actually get delivered and my hold is being ignored. What I also see is a package out for delivery, so I call my post office and talk to someone about this and they say they'll take care of it. I get a call back 30 minutes later, it's all taken care of, and I see the tracking on the package has changed to being held at customer request. I continue to get informed delivery messages for mail, but like I said earlier, I don't know if that's just what happens during a hold.
Flash forward to this previous Sunday, we get home, I check mail to see if that stuff actually got delivered or if it was on hold (It was not due to be delivered until today, Tuesday) and lo and behold, multiple pieces of mail are in the box. Not everything from informed delivery, but at least 75%. What's missing are 1 wedding card, and all the mail from that day I called. I pray that somehow some mail is going to get delivered still, but Monday afternoon nothing had arrived so I drive to the post office. I state the situation and ask if I have mail here and where the package is, as the tracking still says held as USPS. They tell me to go wait by this door to talk to a sup. I stand at this door like an idiot for 30 minutes. Nobody comes. The lady that originally helped me has been helping others the whole time, and I work in customer service and know what it's like to be slammed, so I'm trying not to get too angry, and she eventually sees nobody has helped me and asks the second clerk to help me next. This second clerk takes my info, goes and looks, and returns saying they have no mail for me. I say ok but what about the package, give her the tracking number. She passes this off to a third person.
Third person comes back 10 minutes later with a fat stack of mail saying hey I found it all! I ask about the package, and she says oh let me go look what's the tracking number. I give the number, and she disappears. While she's looking, I look at the mail she handed me and it's not my mail. She literally gave me someone else's mail that also has their mail on hold. The addresses were similar, off by 1 number, but seriously, no wonder mail is missing all the time. Another 15 minutes goes by (I've now been at the post office for an hour) and the original lady looks at me and asks if anyone is still helping me. I say yeah they are looking for the package. She asks me for tracking number. Third person comes out and says the supervisor looked but the package is lost. The original clerk hears this and from what i can infer, thinks 3rd person is incompetent, and says no let me handle this. She takes my name, phone number, address, and tracking number and says she'll get the sup to find it and call me back.
Needless to say, nobody ever called me back. So now here I am with a missing wedding card that likely has some monetary gift inside, a missing package (still says held at USPS per customer request) that also is likely a wedding gift because we have no record of the tracking number in any of our orders and aren't expecting anything, and have no idea what to do. While I could find out what was in the card, that's an incredibly awkward conversation. I have no idea how to figure out what was in the package short of asking every single person we invited if they had a gift shipped to our home, and if so what it was. And even if I did have the value of all those missing items, would USPS insurance even cover it?

My doctor has put me on 20 mg of Vyvanse for 10 days, 30 mg for the next 10 days and 40 mg for 30 days. I see a big difference between 30mg and 40mg. While I was on 30mg, I felt a bit more focused and my adhd symptoms seemed to be controlled. I was also eating way less and fixed my binging issue. However, when I started the 40mg all of this went away. It’s as if I wasn’t taking anything. Does this make sense? Should I go back to 30mg or increase the dose to 50mg?

Just looking for ideas. I have found the only way i get value is trade them for 30 year old vets and get other teams to eat parts of their contracts.

I had a WILD experience last night. Just for some background, I was diagnosed with UC almost 2 weeks ago, currently taking prednisone (10mg x 3 times a day) and mesalamine (1,600 mg x 3 times a day) been on a low fiber diet to help my colon relax and heal and have had no blood, mucus or diarrhea, in fact my my BM (1-2 a day) progressed from soft to actually having a structure to them I don’t remember having. I will also preface that both my daughters seem to have a stomach bug and have been throwing up and complaining of stomach pain. So around 5:30 PM I’m keenly aware that I feel/look pretty bloated no pain, just distended. Then I start to feel nauseous…I had to run to the bathroom and projectile vomited. And it took everything out of me, literally and figuratively, then came the shits…i immediately clear everything from inside me (water and soft poop) mixed with hot flashes and this pattern of puke and poop maintained for about 6 hours, couldn’t keep water or sprite down and was literally crawling on the ground because I had no strength, my body was definitely draining itself. Body finally calms down around 1:30 AM and get sleep. I wake up today and generally feel great. No pain, no bloat, I’m tired for heaving from both sides of my body, but no urgency to use the bathroom and now I’m about 6 pounds lighter. I’ve never had a “proper” flare since I was just diagnosed and the last time I guess I had a flare was when I was peeing blood with urgency every 10 mins. If this is what a flare is then I’m never leaving my house again.

As you can see with the chart below, the lowest point on the chart would indicate the possibility of a further decline. However, when you look at the stochastic oscillator indicator, the trend is moving in a different direction and is slightly bullish. This may be an indication that the stock has bottomed and momentum may be about to change. I feel like every news article I read lately has been acting like gender affirming care for minors is this zero sum game of detransitioners vs trans people what percent risk is there that you'll be what and who do we as a society value more (I'm from the US by the way). As someone who had access to hormones as a minor and really benefitted from it, it's really hard to read.
The worst part is it's all these people talking about how they want more scientific approaches, but then they're fine with judges or politicians making these decisions about trans care. Like, guys, those aren't scientists or doctors. Nobody's actually interested in running studies to see how to improve hormone outreach, prescribing, monitoring throughout treatment, etc.
One person cited a statistic like one doctor estimated 30% of their patients who transitioned as minors regretted treatment and how "scary" that was, and don't get me wrong that sucks for that 30% but are we gonna ignore the other 70%???
At worst its plain transphobia and at best its people debating trans healthcare like its a trolley problem.

We've been in a nanny share with our daughter (22m) and another girl (20m) for the last year and a half. We think nanny provides excellent loving care to the girls and has done a wonderful job supporting their development until now. We have had some issues that have largely been unaddressed despite our bringing them to nanny's attention (lack of tidying, stroller being dirty and left with trash every week). When we've tried to have her address these complaints she often says she doesn't have time during the day with two toddlers.
Nanny takes the girls all over the neighborhood to do activities and we really value that initiative. However, now that the girls have transitioned to one nap a day they tend to do this nap in the stroller on the go and it doesn't seem to be very long or restful. When they do nap inside its usually what's in my opinion far too early in the morning (around 9:30 or 10). Both scenarios lead my daughter to be seemingly overtired at the end of the day which is a bummer for us in the few hours we have together after work. The toddlers do have somewhat different sleep schedules, with the other girl tending to wake much earlier (4-6am) and mine consistently at 7am.
The other MB and I recently discussed the nap situation and agreed that we'd like to have the girls do one long consistent nap in the late morning/afternoon. Based on both our experiences with the girls on weekends/days off this felt very realistic. Our motivation is twofold: (1) it wold help the girls be more rested in the evenings, which we want for quality family time; and (2) we see how hard nanny works and want her to have time to rest sitting down (not walking around for a stroller nap).
When we communicated all this to nanny we were met with a lot of pushback and a lot of reasons why this wouldn't work, related to making it to/from activities in the neighborhood. We asked if we could just try this approach for 1 week and still received a lot of pushback and ultimately I don't think nanny followed through with our request.
Now a few weeks later things are back to how they had been. I'm noticing my daughter now sleeping much later in the morning unless we wake her up (and then she's grumpy!) and I'm feeling very powerless. Its frustrating to feel like our wishes as the employer and parents aren't being respected.
My husband and I are starting to wonder if its just time to move on from this situation. We want to start our daughter in part time am preschool this summer and originally thought we would continue to employ nanny full time in the share and have her do daily pick ups (and do nap in the afternoon). But now seeing how inflexible she's willing to be around scheduling, I'm wondering if these types of issues will only get worse. On the other hand, I'm nervous about instigating such big transitions for our toddler all at once (starting preschool, no longer being with her nanny or the other toddler).
To what degree is this something I should expect with any caregiver? I understand when I hire someone else to take care of my child I relinquish some control. Would love to hear other perspectives, ways to think about this, or possible third solutions? Thank you!

I can remember my first official diet at the age of 10 and can recall the allowances given by Weight Watchers to this day, 6 protein, 5 starch, 5 dairy, 3 fats, and 3 fruits, with unlimited servings of vegetables. At the time this was the accepted way of doing things and the family followed this plan together. We would calculate these portions and buy frozen meals that had these values written on the side. I never would have known that this would be the start of a lifelong battle, where I was accepted and validated while losing weight, dismissed and ridiculed when I wasn’t. In my house weight loss was looked at as a matter of willpower and my father would take me to the grocery store where we would open the bakery cabinet and breathe in the scents of the muffins, brownies, and other pastries without giving in the the temptation of eating any of them. The yo-yoing of my weight started then and continued through 5 years ago, when I was larger than ever and found my way to a weight loss clinic that restricted calories down to 800 a day before building back up over time, mostly through the use of bars and shakes, alongside a meal of protein and veggies. Just like in the past I was able to shed weight on command with a restrictive system, eventually losing 140 pounds, which brought me from 388 down to 248. This was by far the largest loss of my life, having had losses of 90, 75, and multiple losses in the 30-50 range. This time it felt different, but the binge eating at night came back every time I would get to the 250 range. Like clockwork I would creep up and the nurse practitioner would ask if I wanted to try a medication to help and instantly I would take offense and lose the 15 pounds that crept back on, realizing along the way that I needed someone to doubt me, that I needed someone to not believe in me to get back on track. Through this entire journey I had told every person involved that I would be impressed if they could help me keep myself within a 15 pound range for over a year. This method came close but it was always 15 up and 15 down, cycling nearly every other month. This epiphany was met with curiosity and I eventually was referred to a mindful nutritionist that focused on talking through my binge eating issues and removing the good vs. bad labels that I placed on each food my entire life as it relates to food. It took some time to get on their calendar and by then I had risen to 270 pounds. I started this new part of the journey barely eating any real foods and over time I incorporated foods into my life, while removing the labels associated with them. My weight crept up, but I knew this was part of the plan as I judged less and shamed myself even less. I knew this as I had taken up zen meditation over the past few years and along the way I noticed a voice in my head, that voice used my mother’s nickname for me and whenever clothes started to tighten I would hear this admonition, and then one day I realized that I was saying these shame ridden insult out loud to myself. Over the course of a year I reduced my binge eating considerably and accepted more foods into my life. I also noticed that I would often tell my children that “I couldn’t be trusted” with his food and that food and over time I stopped doing these things, both to my benefit and their’s, as the parentification wasn’t good for either of us. Despite all of this I still continued to see the numbers climb, but didn’t weigh myself and felt better than I ever had at such a high weight. As I went past the 300 mark the guilt wasn’t there and the shame was lessened to a a degree I couldn’t imagine. Along this path I believed that the more self acceptance I could show, the less shame I would feel, and in turn I would eat only one hungry, at least eventually. My weight stabilized and I thought I was in my way,but my clothes kept getting tighter, bit by bit over time. At my next physical my doctor looked at my weight and immediately went to suggesting medication. As I tried to explain my work with my nutritionist he was dismissive and kept referring to the work I was doing as being on a diet, which I had refused to do. I was incorporating all foods in my life while not binging and although I physically didn’t feel great, I was proud of the mental place I was in. It was at this time that I began a 4-5 month dialogue between my doctor and my nutritionist. Talking about my goals, fears, and everything in between. I had become comfortable in a bigger body and accepting of it, however I was starting to notice the effect on my psyche, especially at work when I had to present and speak publicly or on camera. I came to the conclusion that I just wanted to be able to exercise regularly and buy clothes at a regular store, staying at XXL sizes or below. My nutritionist was along for the ride and while she never had a patient on Zepbound her approval meant the world to me as I had my doctor place the prescription in at the pharmacy. It was another 2 months before I asked them to fill it and I eventually had it delivered and in my fridge. I had been dismissive of everyone who had bariatric surgery and other interventions, for they didn’t have the “willpower” that I had to lose weight on command. Swallowing my pride I injected myself 11 days ago not knowing what to expect. The injection instead served as admission that I was no better than anyone else and that I could accept medical intervention for something that I just couldn’t solve in any way. After the injection I experienced a profound moment where I went to the pantry prior to a Zoom panel discussion that would have 400 people on it. In this moment I realized that I always came here prior to speaking publicly, it his time was different. I realized I wasn’t hungry and I also realized that my anxiety was lessened in a way far beyond my appetite and impulses. In the 11 days since I have come to terms with the fact that I suffered from anxiety deeper than I ever knew and this new medication made that completely clear. I now move forward hoping to stay in XXL or lower, but fearful that without this medication my anxiety will come back, with my impulsive eating right behind. I then come back to the fact that I will continue the meditation practice, exercise routine, and self acceptance tools that I’ve worked on diligently over the years to guide my path. I don’t know where this journey will take me, but I am glad that I was able to share this publicly for the first time here on Reddit
