2024.05.14 00:09 LTJ1690 26M looking to meet new people

I’m 26 and from Scotland, UK.
My hobbies include gaming, football, I like true crime/history, I am a massive horror fan and I love everything creepy/scary.
I love being outside, finding places to explore and spending time with my dog. I also have a lot of tattoos and love to see other people’s work too!
I’m down to talk about just about anything, not just my own hobbies. I like hearing about others interests too, answer questions or I’m happy to just listen to you rant.
Send me a message if you want to talk, and preferably don’t ghost me after one message 🤣

Honoring this awesome NCAA 06 mod one last time before CFB 25 is fully revealed
Before everything changes on Thursday, I thought I’d make a quick retrospective on NCAA 06’s relevance and how the NCAA NEXT 25 mod still makes it one heck of a game to play today.
Hope they continue working on it, even after College Football 25 releases 🤞

2024.05.14 00:02 EJC28 Falcons 2024 Draft Analysis Compilation

Round 1, Pick 8 - Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington:
NFL: I’m not sure anyone expected Atlanta, which signed Kirk Cousins to a four-year, $180 million deal in March, to take a quarterback in the top 10, but here we are. Penix is a big-time playmaker who is the top deep-ball passer in this class. He has surgical precision and throws with good anticipation from the pocket.
CBS Sports: B-. They opted to take their quarterback of the future by taking Penix. He has all the tools, but will learn and wait behind Kirk Cousins. I wonder if he can rush the passer. Like the player, but don’t like the pick.
ESPN: Stunner. The Falcons pulled off the shocker of the first round, taking Penix earlier than just about every expert predicted. He was the fourth quarterback taken in the top 10. There's no doubt Atlanta saw something in Penix when watching him on tape and visiting him. The team sent a ton of staff to see him in recent weeks. Obviously, they felt comfortable with his durability, despite four season-ending injuries in college. Penix, a lefty, has an incredible arm, and from a skill standpoint, he's certainly right up there among the best signal callers on the board. And now he's the successor to Kirk Cousins.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Has devoted his life to the church of the flying spaghetti monster.
Round 2, Pick 35 - Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson:
NFL: Another trade, with the Falcons swooping up. And this is their second curious pick of this draft. Nothing against Orhorhoro, who has some intriguing skills and might be a better stat stuffer in the NFL than he was at Clemson. But with Johnny Newton on the board, this pick felt like a reach when you consider Atlanta's biggest need -- pass rush.
CBS Sports: B. Big, long, powerful interior rusher without many pass-rush moves. But his traits shine against the run and has enough explosion to win between gaps or with bull rushes. Expensive trade up though hurts his grade despite Falcons filling a need with quality prospect.
ESPN: The Falcons needed a pass-rusher, particularly an EDGE. Most of the impact players at that position went in the first round. Atlanta attempted to trade back into the late first, but weren't able to do so. Instead, the Falcons took Orhorhoro, a defensive tackle who has pass-rushing chops from the inside. Since 2021, Orhorhoro had 9.5 sacks lined up as a DT, which were tied for third in the ACC. The Nigeria-born Orhorhoro didn't start playing football until he was a junior in high school, so the Falcons probably like his upside.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: His bright green fanny pack when traveling is a must.
Round 3, Pick 74 - Bralen Trice, LB, Washington:
NFL: Trice was a consistent pressure source the past two years for the Huskies but had a rough pre-draft process when he shed a bunch of weight for the NFL Scouting Combine but failed to display better speed because of it. Trice was smart to bulk back up for his pro day because I think his game is predicated on winning with a combination of effort and surprising pop in his hands.
CBS Sports: A-. Bad testing hurt his stock but this is as productive of an EDGE as there is in this class. Slippery with pass-rush plans galore. Smaller than his listed weight and doesn’t have serious burst. Flashes of bend though.
ESPN: The Falcons got their pure pass-rusher and, boy, did they need it. This is a team that has had 18 fewer sacks than any other franchise in the NFL over the past three seasons. Atlanta's pass rush win rate was dead last in the league in 2023. Trice had 16 sacks over the past two seasons, which was tied for the fourth most among Power 5 players during that stretch. He's had 12 games with five or more pressures since the start of the 2022 season, which leads all FBS players. Trice played mostly outside linebacker at Washington and he had a reputation for being able to get to the quarterback.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Smells like Celestial Seasonings sleepy-time tea.
Round 4, Pick 109 - Brandon Dorlus, DT, Oregon:
NFL: Round 4 is for the Ducks. I haven't followed the Falcons' logic on every one of their selections this year, but I like Dorlus here. He can play multiple spots along the D-line and be a movable piece for Raheem Morris' unit.
CBS Sports: A-. Fun, twitchy and thick “tweener” who can literally win at any alignment along the defensive line. Isn’t the most sudden, nor the best with his hands but is so slippery between blockers. Overall athletic profile is impressive. Rushes can get too high, doesn’t play with much power. Can get washed out vs. the run. Has frame to add more weight.
ESPN: It was somewhat surprising the Falcons didn't take a cornerback here or even a safety. But the team is clearly and rapidly reshaping its defensive line, which already had quality veteran players in Grady Jarrett and David Onyemata. Dorlus is Atlanta's second straight defensive line selection. And Dorlus, who led Oregon with five sacks, is extremely versatile. He can play inside, as a defensive end or even outside linebacker. Pass-rushers were the Falcons' biggest needs and now they have three rookies who fit the bill after not taking a defender with the No. 8 overall pick as many expected.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Wants you to call your family and tell them you love and cherish them.
Round 5, Pick 143 - JD Bertrand, LB, Notre Dame:
NFL: An Atlanta native, Bertrand is a coach's dream in spite of his subpar length and injury history. He's instinctive and tough and carries a hard-hat mentality to work every day.
CBS Sports: C. So active, so smart. Always around the ball. Reads his keys in a flash. Block-avoider. Ascending coverage skill just minimal ball production at Notre Dame. High tackling numbers but also misses many.
ESPN: The Falcons are completely reshaping their front seven in this draft. In Bertrand, they not only get their second collegiate defensive team captain (Bralen Trice was captain at Washington), but also someone with significant physical tools. Bertrand was a three-year starter at Notre Dame, led the team with 76 tackles in 2023 and had 16 tackles behind the line of scrimmage this past season. He's also a former Eagle Scout and was a finalist for the Wuerffel Trophy for community service.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Prefers to code in Notepad with the wingding font.
Round 6, Pick 186 - Jase McClellan, RB, Alabama:
NFL: McClellan is a power back who runs with great toughness and exercises great ball security, fumbling only once in college on nearly 400 touches. But he's a one-dimensional runner on a team pretty loaded at running back.
CBS Sports: C+. Jack of all trades, master of none with minimal mileage on his legs. Will run away from some slower defenders but not a true burner. Receiving ability is there. Vision is a strength between the tackles. Elusive but not special in that regard. Classic scatback.
ESPN: The team needed a third running back behind Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, and that's presumably where McClellan will fit. McClellan was Alabama's primary starter for one year after returning in 2022 from a torn ACL. He ran for 890 yards on 180 carries with eight touchdowns this past season. McClellan, who's only 21, isn't flashy, but Atlanta has been taking upside and translatable physical attributes over flash this entire draft.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Kept calling the NFL at 800-635-5300 to complain about the refs.
Round 6, Pick 187 - Casey Washington, WR, Illinois:
NFL: A strong pro day helped solidify Washington as a draft pick. He looks like a solid, reliable possession receiver with natural route-running skills, but he's not special at any one thing.
CBS Sports: C. Good sized outside WR who plays with a throwback style. Jump balls, back-shoulders, etc. are his speciality. Good speed for his size too. Just doesn’t have the bend or suddenness to separate consistently.
ESPN: Depth at wide receiver was absolutely a need going into the draft, though it's still surprising the Falcons won't pick a cornerback until their final pick, if at all. Washington was sixth in the Big Ten in receiving yards during conference games (589) and finished his career with Illinois very strong -- 218 yards on nine receptions and three touchdowns against Northwestern back in November. Washington is 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, and Atlanta did need size at the position. He'll be tied for the second tallest wide receiver on the roster after top wideout Drake London (6-4).
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Taught his goldfish to play fetch. Not the most exciting game but they’re happy.
Round 6, Pick 197 - Zion Logue, DT, Georgia:
NFL: Logue was a flash player for the two-time champion Bulldogs, often stuck behind a ton of talent in Athens. His length is outstanding, even if his production (1.5 sacks in 50-plus college games) isn't.
CBS Sports: C+. Big, long, thick SEC-tested DL with some above-average burst for his size and a pass-rush move every so often. Production never matched his size or athleticism.
ESPN: This draft, after all the controversy in the first round, was all about front-seven versatility and depth for the Falcons. Logue is a big body at 6-foot-6 and 314 pounds. And the team's fifth front-seven selection of the week. Atlanta has put a premium on length with its defenders so far and Logue has that to go along with his massive frame. The Tennessee native only started one year at Georgia, so he's relatively inexperienced with potential upside the Falcons are once again banking on.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Can eat twenty scones in a single sitting.

2024.05.14 00:01 Fun_Technology_7745 I (35f) feels like My dad and step mom don't try to make time for us despite our best efforts.

Hello! I'm changing my age, parents location and half brothers location and name to protect my identity! When I was 13 my dad and step mom had a child of their own... for years I have over looked the favoritism to the point over the past 6 years I have noticed it more and more and am finally seeing things the same way my other 2 biological siblings have always seen it. My half brother joined the military straight out of high school and I couldn't be more proud of his service... however... my dad n step mom have made trips from where they live 20 hours from us to the state right next to us which is a 6 hour drive to where My half brother was stationed for Thanksgiving, Christmas, his birthday, random weekends... they have been to my home state 4x in the past 6 years.... we got 1 hour with them each visit and one visit they didn't even tell us they were here, we only found out bc Lil bro posted pics of them at a state football game.... we have made trips to visit them in the state they live in where before hand we made all these plans to do things together just for them to let my kids (10 and 15) down by suddenly deciding they don't want to do anything or go anywhere... yet they have all this time and energy to visit my Lil bro, go on Hikes, 4 wheeling and other things when my brother visits them... They were just here in March, we got an entire hour and told that our visit to see them at the end of summer might not get to happen WHY??? Bc they have to go to a ceremony for Lil bro the same time we planned on going there... no we can't change our vacation plans bc my husband has put in his time already and our high schooler doesn't like missing... we made these plans in January! I love my dad, I have always considered myself a daddy's girl. Had a great relationship with my step mom for years but I'm tired of feeling like we are not important to them and always getting the short end of the stick bc they had another child together... I know this is common 3rd world problems.... but I needed to let it out! I've tried talking to them about my feelings but it gets me absolutely no where! If you have read this far thank you. I'm not looking for advice or sympathy... just a place to let it out!

2024.05.13 23:59 Razorbackfan3002 Predictions for the 2024 football season

New starting quarterback with some subpar stats at his former school, a solid running back room, a decent defense with bad d line depth, a mysterious o line group(might just be me who doesn’t know much about the o line), and Bobby MF Petrino back on the hill
Here’s a look at the schedule:
UAPB
@Oklahoma state
UAB
@Auburn
A&M(neutral site in Jerry’s world)
Tennessee
Bye week
LSU
@Mississippi State
Ole Miss
Bye week
Texas
Louisiana Tech
@Missouri
A little be more favorable of a schedule compared to last years but still one of the toughest in college football. I think we finish 5-7 and Pittman gets canned. If we win some of our 50/50 games like Missouri, A&M, Oklahoma State, I could see them going 8-4 but that is highly unlikely
Wondering what yall are thinking going into the season

2024.05.13 23:50 Odd_Contribution5069 Why is this guy not being selected for the national team?

Why is this guy not being selected for the national team?
So this guy have recently been selected as world footballer of the year. He is always dangerous infront of goal. But Guardiola as the English national coach refused to call him up for the English squad. Is he out of his mind, or does he see something I don't? Did Helme shag his wife? What is going on. His hidden stats are even great too, consistent and enjoys big games. And before you comment, that he does have games for the NT, it was back when I was the English national coach. I resigned and Guardiola took over... and Helme has not played for England since.
Oh, and I added some photos of some of my other players, that I feel are too good not be shown :)

2024.05.13 23:48 Suraziv 23 [M4A] #Michigan/Online - Looking for Long-Term Friends!

Hello! My name is Charlie and I’m from the great state of Michigan! I’m looking for some new long-term friends, doesn’t matter if you’re near me or not. I’ll keep it short, so here’s a bit about me:
I work in the auto industry and travel a bit for my job, mostly around Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan. I have been out of school for two years and was a business major.
I am a casual, mostly single player gamer but I am open to playing games together! I love racing games, rpgs, strategy games, and Paradox history games. I play on PS5 and PC!
I also love watching tv and movies, or YouTube. I’m a big music fan, love taking walks or hikes and just enjoying nature, taking drives, trying new food, going to museums, history, politics, NFL and college football, and Formula 1!
I’m a bit introverted but once I’m comfortable with people I can be a real chatterbox. I think I have a good sense of humor and am decently smart, as well as kind and very honest.
I’m open to things become romantic if we connect really well, but my main focus is making friends! The best relationships come from strong friendships anyway.
I’d love to get to know you, especially if we have things in common! Please don’t be shy and hmu with a short introduction about you!
Hope you have a nice day :)

2024.05.13 23:47 liquidtabs Performance issues on portable SSD - please help!

I've just setup a portable Windows SSD to connect to my work laptop so I can run Football Manager.
I've been getting some performance issues. I've played one game and during the first half the game crashed. I can't interpret anything in the dump, but the game crashed when I was making some additional instructions.
Reloaded the game and played the same match, some slowness towards the end of the first half and when making subs. Seems to be causing other apps such as Spotify to run slow.
Is this to be expected running on a portable SSD? Does anyone have any tips to get this working better? Really needing my FM fix in my downtime!
Cheers

2024.05.13 23:33 Breaking_PG I'm on a Journey, Man. Part 3

Season 3
Fukushima entered the second tier of Japanese football, the J2 league, for the first time in their history and they were looking to make their mark where as I was finally moving out of my hotel and into a lovely apartment in Fukushima itself, admittedly, not far from where the hotel was but at least this was mine! And with a new season, brought new faces, AML Jung Ji-Yong came in on a free transfer along with striker Serinsariu Joppu following his release from V-Varen Nagasaki, Kiyotaka Hayashi was an aging CB and Taiki Hirato was reinforcement for the AMR position both on free transfers, the only money spent was Ghanaian striker Clinton Osei, a humoungus £34k from Romanian outfit Marosvasarhelyi, I'll leave the pronunciation of that one to you. Masashi Wada and Naoto Miki went out the door for £220k and £190k respectively. Meaning I had repaired Fukushima's financial issues that I definitely did not not cause and you can't prove it.
The season started as the previous ended with victories over Tochigi SC and Yokohama S Marino's with Yuto Nobe scoring 4 out of our 6 goals so far, we were flying high, riding a wave of confidence and belief, but let me tell you something brother, the walls came crashing down and it hurt both inside and out, we went 6 games without a win, Nobe couldn't hit a barn door with a bazooka and we were falling down the table despite our positive start. Included in this was a 2-2 home draw with Yokohama S Marino's in the YBC Levian cup and we were staring down the barrel of being less than mediocre, that would be fine for a consolidation season right?
We sat and waited for the arrival of Thespa Gunma, at the time top of the table to come put another nail in our coffin and they were on the verge of pulling the dirt over ourselves as we went 2-0 down. Now, I don't know what is in the water of Fukushima (Radiation probably) but Nobe clearly drank more than his fair share as he helped his team mates with 2 assists and himself to 4 goals, leaving us running out 6-2 winners. We continued our exploits in the Levian cup beating Yokohama Marino's 5-3 in the second leg showing that the team were truely starting to believe in my score one more than you philosophy. Klopp fancies himself some Heavy Metal football, this was some kind of crossbreed between heavy metal and Japanese fastidiousness creating a new kind of metal, a BabyMetal if you will.
Following this our form became inconsistent a couple of wins followed by a few losses, very few draws though and continuing through both cup competitions, up next was Grulla Morioka in the YBC Levian cup round of 16. We lost the first leg 2-1 at their place before bringing them back to Toho stadium, where a 3-1 victory pushed us into the quarter finals. Up next would be Tokushima Vortis in the second round of the Emperors Cup but before that, something happened.
J1 side Kyoto Sanga were struggling in the league above us, in the relegation zone and having sacked their long standing manager Sang-Hyun Kim were willing to take a chance on a young(ish) Englishman who'd proven himself in the lower leagues of Japanese football and on the grill of McDonald's. An interview was offered and, of course, I attended, as stated in part 2, my skin was turning purple already.
Clearly, my potential defection affected the players as we were knocked out of the Emperors cup by Tokushima in a 2-1 loss for us. The next day, I was offered the job at Kyoto Sanga. I said my farewells, packed my bags, and hopped on the first high-speed train to Kyoto.
I'd only just unpacked.....

2024.05.13 23:20 Wrong-Ice00 Sister-In-law trying to sabotage my relationship.

About 2 years ago or so, I started dating my now fiancé. 5 months in, it was the holidays, and he had met my parents at thanksgiving. They loved him and everything is great on my end. I met his sister and she was pregnant, she was short with me and didn't really ask me much. When I asked him about it, he said shes pregnant probably tired. Christmas comes, my bf is invited to our Christmas, but he didn't invite me to his sister's house. So, the plan was we each spend Christmas eve with our own families, and he would join my family on Christmas day. 2 days before Christmas eve, my bf calls me and says my sister said to invite u over for Christmas eve. I said OK let me talk to my family because i already made plans with them and I'll get back to you.30 mins later, he calls saying they want to rescind the invitation because they remembered you're not vaccinated, and they don't want to put the baby at risk. i said no worries i understand. I thought to myself ok either her or her husband will reach out to be like sorry you know; we'd love to have you but the baby blabla. nothing. Mind you, they were taking the baby to wineries, restaurants, etc.. I was hurt as anyone else would be that they didnt give me the common courtesy of saying hey sorry. Even my then bf told them, and they said they have nothing to apologize for because my bf is the one who invited and uninvited me. They even went on to say that I should apologize for prioritizing a stupid dinner over the safety of the baby, called me narcissist, insecure and selfish. I obv didn't like them after that but I was always respectful, and had my bf handle the matter as any man should. they unfollowed me on insta, unfriended me on fb and still stalked me and told my bf I was posting on social media jabs at them and told him to open his eyes to who i truly am and all that. Like if i know you dont follow me, why would i post about you? Throughout those 2 years, we invited them over for watching football games, parties, holidays, they never came. I even threw a surprise party for my bf when he got a new job, and she didn't come because she had plans with her friends. Anyway, on multiple occasions, she would tell him indirectly that he shouldn't be with me and that im not good for him. Here comes the baby's first bday, we are there and one of her friends asked if the party was good birth control for us and i laughed and said yes lol. This topic came up again a couple months later where i said that i wouldnt want to start having kids at 35 like when im older i wanna have them soon. she got offended and felt i was calling her old and unfit to be a mom because she is 34. I didn't mean it at all that way specially that my fiancé is like 2 years younger than her. One major issue is that whenever any family member is in town, she makes all the plans and just tells us when and where, if we dont like it we don't have to go. its always like "we are going to xx at this time if you guys wanna come". I work till 5-515 every day, she wants to go to dinner at 530 because the baby sleeps at 7. she wants me to drive separately from my fiancé and meet with them 30-45 mins (that's how long my commute is) after so they could leave on time. Anytime we push back that we want more time so I could go home, shower, get out of my blood-filled scrubs before I go to dinner, she has a meltdown. Saying I need to get over myself and that I am putting my need to be chauffeured to dinner over the baby's needs. Every time we say it's the last time and we accommodate them, but they never care about what we want. Fast forward to 2 months ago, my then bf calls her to say hey I bought a ring and I'm so excited to propose, she was not thrilled, asked him how he knows we are ready, and if he is sure this is what he wants, and acts like she needs to get off the phone. Whatever. He proposes, we call them to share the news, and she goes aww congratulations, funny thing my husband proposed to me yesterday about 10 years ago too. We laughed whatever and went on calling other family members to share the news. 15 min after that call they post pictures of their proposal on social media on our engagement day. they've been married or like 10 years now. I'm like??? We are having an engagement party to celebrate, and family members are coming from out of town, tried to make dinner plans at 6, and they lost their minds, to a point trying to convince my fiancé i am the problem and that he should check me, or leave me A WEEK BEFORE THE ENGAGEMENT PARTY. When i found out they were mad about the kids and birth control comments i texted and apologized that same night but crickets. She still hasnt reached out to me to apologize for anything shes done those past 2 years and i dont know how to move on and create a healthy family dynamic where i can keep my sanity. please share some advice if you can.

2024.05.13 23:14 Guadalver How about the sport of football ? Would love a 'Tactics' special episode

It's a great club and a fun story to watch, and I particularly liked how the did a Wales Special episode.
What I'd love to see as a football fan, and because I think this shows does fairly well on educating its viewers, is a special episodes on tactics, positions, strategy ; a deep dive in the sport itself. Doesn't even have to be about a particular upcoming game, maybe a video debrief or crash course on tactics for the wider audience.
Curious if that echoes with some of you. It struck me especially after the beginning of season 3 when Mulls is out injured. He makes the comment at half time that the coach is especially good at telling the team where the weaknesses of the opponents are, how to adapt, and how to build the right plays.
I'd like to see more of that, and less of Phil yelling "give them hell on first touch, pressure on all the fucking field from 0' to 90'" because there is more to it and I'd love for people to see that.
