Before I got married to my wonderful husband we had gone months and months stressing each other out with trying to plan the perfect day. I come seeking some insight into my actions this past Mother's Day to see if I am truly out of touch with reality and everything good in this world.
Let me set the stage, this is important; We met over 2 years ago. As with any new relationship there's that initial period where everything is new, you're exploring each other. A few weeks later she was celebrating her daughter's birthday. We had bought her an iPad together. She set it up while everyone was eating cake with the family and unfortunately never checked what synced. Her daughter saw photos and videos of me and made a big scene. She turned 8. She also has a son she adopted away a few years back before going to prison.
Since then she has freaked out every time I am mentioned. Full on meltdown. As such we've had to keep our relationship a secret and hidden. Removed me from all social media and has me muted on Messenger, just to keep the peace with her daughter. This has been going on for almost 2 years in a couple of months.
This Saturday before Mother's Day she went camping with her kid and sisters kids. I didn't know at first, we usually talk in the mornings before she spends the weekend with the kids, our usual morning routine. I didn't expect her to respond so after sending her the text, I went on FB and saw she had posted a new header picture of her kids playing the ipad while sitting on the bed with them, being visited by the son she adopted away. I thought it was beautiful and shared it to my FB with a heart emoji.
Not even a 2 mins later she responds back telling me to "Chill the fuck out, I'm spending time with my daughter!!!"
Followed by: "Dude I'm fucking blocking you! Who the fuck are you to put pictures up of are you fucking serious!!!"

And she said: "Posting pictures of my daughter so she could possibly see or her dad flip the fuck out!!!" and she blocked me.
Later that evening she still hadn't unblocked me so I sent her an email telling her to please talk to me, I apologize if I did something wrong or to upset her, all she needed to do was voice her disapproval and tell me to remove it. (As I already had) Why do it like this?
She responds back telling me to "Leave her the fuck alone" because she's not "dealing with this psychotic behavior all the fucking damn time. Your mom can be in the hospital dying and you don't post a thing about it, but you put a fucking picture up of my adopted son! Are you fucking serious!".
My response back was I don't post sad shit on Facebook. Never have, never will. I post things that make me happy. I didn't make a post when any of my grandparents died, (last one this Jan), when I was going through 2 surgeries + 7 months of chemo and radiation for melanoma, and certainly not with tubes and wires coming out of my mom. Wasn't even a thought that crossed my mind in the middle of it.
So, Reddit, was I wrong here? Am I so morally wrong and out of touch with reality that I got what I deserved?

The passage of time is woeful, and, for a parent, living your dreams through the progress of your progeny is as inevitable as the turning of the Earth. But the sports parent lives the experience in concentrate—a more intense version of the common predicament. You must give up your vicarious hope of big-league glory and let it die. You must part from what, if your kid pursued his passion seriously, had become a routine of away games and early-morning practices, hours in the car, a hot cup of coffee in your cold hand as the sun rose above the Wonderland of Ice, in Bridgeport, Connecticut; the Ice Arena in Brewster, New York; the Ice Vault, in Wayne, New Jersey—home of the Hitmen, whose logo is a pin-striped gangster with a hockey stick. And you’ll suddenly find yourself watching the Stanley Cup playoffs not in the way of a civilian but with the chagrin of knowing that the game’s upper ranks will never include your kid.
One recent morning, courtesy of Facebook Memories, I came across an old picture of my son, a high-school junior who recently announced his decision to quit hockey—to retire! The photo was taken by teammates after a victory at Lake Placid, New York. Sweat-soaked, draped in the arms of friends, grinning like a thief, he looked no less ecstatic than Mike Eruzione after he and his team won Olympic gold in the same arena in 1980.
And me? I was this Eruzione’s old man, waiting with the other parents outside the locker room, experiencing a moment of satisfaction greater than any other I’d known, either as a player or as a fan. I was a car in park with the accelerator pressed to the floor. I was a wall bathed in sunlight. This win was better than the Illinois State Championship I won with the Deerfield Falcons, in 1977. It was better than the Bears’ 1986 Super Bowl victory.

The end began like this: One evening, after the last game of the high-school season, I asked my son if he’d be trying out for spring league. For a youth-hockey kid, playing spring league is the equivalent of a minor-league pitcher playing winter ball in Mexico—so necessary as a statement of intent and means of improvement that forgoing it is like giving up “the path.” Rather than a simple affirmative nod, as I’d expected, I got these words: “I’m going to think about it.” Think about it? For me, this was the same as a girlfriend saying, “We need to talk.”
Only later did I realize that those words were the first move in a careful choreography. My son wanted to quit, but in a way that would not break my heart. He also didn’t want me to rant and rave and try to talk him out of it.
We had reversed roles. He was the adult. I was the child.
He knew he would not be playing college hockey even if he could. With this in mind, he had decided to use his final year of high school to get to know people other than hockey players and spend time in places other than hockey rinks. In the way of a pro with iffy knees nearing the age of 35, he had decided to exit on his own terms. He was not worrying about losing his identity as a player or about missing the camaraderie of the locker room; he was worrying about me. Hockey had been an entire epoch of our father-son life. It had ushered me, the sports parent, out of my 30s, through my 40s, and into my 50s.
.... Because I am human, I tend to blame entities or systems or other people for things that strike me as unfair. As my son progressed, I caught a glimpse, for one fabulous, deluded moment, of the life that he (we, I) would never live: high-school athletic stardom followed by college triumph and possibly even a professional-hockey career. That I knew this was a fantasy—he was never that good—did not make it less powerful. Lost in it, I experienced my life as an NHL fan with new intensity. I was not just watching the Blackhawks; I was scouting, picking up tricks that I could pass to my glory-bound boy. This was a dream that I was too embarrassed to share with anyone, even my wife. I regarded it the way members of the Free French regarded the liberation of Paris: Think of it always; speak of it never. In short, I lost my way. Rather than letting him enjoy the moment and the fact that these seasons were his career, not a preparation or a path toward one, I was constantly scheming about his next move, his next opportunity, his next shot at the big time.
Here’s the worst part: I knew exactly what I was doing. I was attempting to replace my kid’s will with my own. I knew that it was wrong and, worse, counterproductive. The more I pressed, the less he enjoyed the game. The less he enjoyed the game, the worse he played. The worse he played, the more I pressed. Economists call this a negative feedback loop. I knew it but could not stop. It was psychosis.
Maybe the most notorious sports parents suffer from a shared psychological condition. LaVar Ball, Emmanuel Agassi, Earl Woods—those sports dads were all obsessed to the point of being abusive. I prefer to think that I am not; yet, for all the varying degrees of our kid’s success, our predicament is the same. At some point, even if it comes after 20 years in the pros, the set will be rolled away, revealing our true location. Rink parking lot. Beat-up vehicle. Alone. Even the child prodigies will retire.

in my imagination it would be an item like the diary, that you can store in your inventory but also on desks etc. then you can drag your pictures inside and sort them yourself (even the big pictures just sized down lol) maybe even create a headline for each page. you could gift these to your teen sims when they turn into young adults and they can flip through them and feel homesick etc. when living on their own. and ofc the player can also flip through the pages.

This is a PSA
I made a post about my Star Man Chun-Li MS-008. Many people have seen a TikTok that has gone a bit viral of the Chun-Li figure. Poster doesn't show the nude body bit claims it has "all the details" commenter are claiming this as well. I believe this is a disinformation campaign as all figures produced in 2024 have been forced to censor all products. This involved altering all molds and removing anatomically correct features(nipples/vagina). My figure is completely censored, and I have confirmed with several others who have the figure. Due to this tiktok video, MANY people were asking me for photos, thinking that the figure has all the details despite my saying otherwise. I removed my post because it was just getting silly with the requests. Long story short, Chun-Li was meant to be anatomically correct, but Star Man/VeryCool were forced to censor it. I also think that Star Man announcing Cammy for pre-orders was intentionally done weeks before Chunli shipped...
I did some research and found out why this happened. I believe this is why the Chunli figure was so delayed because it and every other figure produced this year had to have their molds censored...

I'm an artist and I love taking photos, and I need a camera to capture my work so I can make prints of it and market it etc. Some years ago I bought a Canon 1100d because i wanted to try a big boy camera instead of my phone or a compact digital camera. I loved it, even though I'm not the best photographer, I had a great time. It served me well, but now I need to take high quality pictures of my art work and the 1100d just doesn't seem to have the resolution for the level of detail I need. I was looking to upgrade to a mid range camera, thinking i probably dont need top level gear for this (and also can't afford that high an expense right now). My 18-55 lens that came with the camera lost the autofocus some time ago (from me messing with manual focus while it was in auto, probably) and I looked around and did some research, and was wondering what would be the best way to go. From what I looked up, i was considering a second hand Canon R100 or R50 (prices differ a bit between them). Are these good options? Do you have other recommendations for what I need? Also if you have any tips for art photographt i would very much appreciate it!
Tl,dr: need to upgrade from canon 1100d for art photography. Need recommendations.

I've been intensively looking at the Voltex type 1, the Voltex type 1s, and the Ardo wing for the gr86. I really can't decide. I love the design of the voltex wing but I feel like it's a litle too big and it sits a taller above the roof.
With that being said, I can't find any good stock photos on google and I just want to compare the two at a good angle.

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

• Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: around 700-800 Swiss Francs or Euros, I am in Switzerland but can buy from Italy if needed.
• Are you open to refurbs/used? Yes, but I'd prefer new
• How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? It has to have good build quality and great battery life. I use it in university, the longer it lasts both battery wise and future proofing wise, the better. No specific need for the form factor, I was looking for something in the range of a Ryzen 7 7730U, since it has good integrated graphics
• How important is weight and thinness to you? Of course I'd much rather something light since I carry it on my back almost always but it's not that big of an issue
• Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 16 Inches, 15 is also good
• Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I will be doing very light video and photo editing and will do light gaming like emulation, indie titles, mabye up to switch emulation but not further. I have a desktop that does heavy gaming just fine and I'd avoid something with an Nvidia card, I don't need it and Linux does not like it that much.
• If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? As I said, if it can run PS3 and Switch Emulation it would be AMAZING, DS3 and DS1, New Vegas, Civ 6 etc. nothing too heavy anyway, as I said it is not a priority more so a plus that is very nice to have, and if it cannot run these it's fine too.
• Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Keyboard quality is top priority, same for the build quality, I don't want it to break on me, and it would be quite problematic as repairs here cost A LOT.
• Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. I will install Arch Linux on it, the less tinkering I have to do with various drivers the better. Linux compatibility is top priority, if I spend 800 on a laptop I don't wanna compromise on things cause of bad compatibility or closed source components that require god forsaken drivers. I can do tinkering just fine, I'd just like to avoid having most issues I can avoid. Stuff like fingerprint reader are pretty irrelevant to me, I'm mainly talking the big things like cpu/integrated gpu support, wi-fi, bluetooth etc. As a side note, if it is well equipped for programming it is perfect since I will most likely take programming courses in the future. I wanna spend a good amount now and not have to change it in quite a while if possible. Easy hardware upgradeability is also a factor, I would like that.
