Di post ini, aku mau cerita bedasarkan kisah nyata dari sebagian besar orang yang pernah ngobrol sama aku (plus dengan pengalamanku pas bersama mereka) dan mungkin ini bisa menggerakkan hati atau kita makin positif sih. Ada 2 cerita yang bakalan aku bahas, dan kalian bisa pilih aja mau cerita mana yang mau kalian baca. And ofc, i make it short to save everyone's time.
The story has 2 perspective : Gojek, dan Tukang parkir (niatnya mau ada tambahan 1 lagi, yaitu cerita tentang guruku.. maybe next time i guess.)
Let's start with Gojek.
Gojek Kejadian ini terjadi pasca tahun 2021-an (kalo ga salah). Ceritanya, Sahabat jauh dari solo pulang ke sentul dan aku main sama beliau sambil ngobrol bareng kondisi-nya disana. Kami bercengkrama sampai dengan jam 8 malam, dan aku memutuskan untuk pulang (karena nyokap udah nyariin). Aku akhirnya dianterin pulang dengan mobil nyokap sahabatku yang kebetulan lagi satu jalan dari AEON. tapi, aku denger kabar kata-nya bokap-nya temen tiba-tiba sakit dan Nyokap-nya perlu beli obat. Aku nawarin untuk nemenin beli obat + nunjukin apotik terdekat, tapi akhirnya aku cukup minta diberhentiin aja di Lampu merah dekat CCM. Karena aku takut-nya mengganggu juga + takut pulang kemaleman. Cukup ucapan semoga cepat sembuh, dan akhirnya pergi ke kantor polisi perempatan CCM buat pesan Gojek.
Jujur, aku kaget ketika yang dateng ketika pesen Gojek yang dateng adalah perempuan. Aku ga permasalahin kamu kerja jadi apa... tapi dengan kondisi malem seperti ini dan beliau berani narik Gojek? oh my. That's a daring move and deserve my respect. Tapi pas aku mau naik, beliau bilang.. ini baru pertama kali dia ambil pesanan malem-malem dan kebetulan aga capek (kalo ga salah inget). Aku tawarin untuk ngendarain motornya (it was a scoopy. its has good handling but slow as snail speed. but it has good fuel economy. hehe, maaf terlalu mendiskripsikan motornya).
Kami ngobrol di jalan dong... tanya-tanya abis ngapain dan ini itu. Sampai aku nanya ke beliau "Ibu kenapa mau kerja jadi Go-Jek?". Beliau dengan lumayan santai-nya bilang something along like "Karena ada-nya ini pada saat ini, dan saya harus membiayain kedua anak saya". Aku sambil mengucapkan maaf nanya kepada beliau "Maaf bu, saya kalo boleh nanya.. Suami ibu apakah tidak kerja?". Beliau bilang "Suami saya kabur". That bring a chill on my spine... karena ini ngobrol secara langsung. Beliau bela-belain Nganter barang sampai malam, dan bahkan nyoba nge-gojek. it's somewhat shows how mother figure should always be. She wants nothing but her kids to become succeed and didnt end up like her.
And today 2024, i share her story to here... it shows that maybe even at the very rock bottom, you cannot see down but only up. and you need to keep on going whatever your situation is.

Tukang Parkir Mixue Miksu (ga boleh nyebut merek meskipun keliatan dikit, atleast its for the sake of the funni)
Nah, ini sebenarnya kejadian yag masih baru-baru banget. Cerita-nya ini abis ngampus.. Karena lagi kepengen makan eskrim, pergilah aku ke Miksu deket Sate Tegal Laka-laka yang ada di cibinong. Kebetulan disitu ada tukang parkir (yang kebetulan sering ketemuan dan dia ramah).. ngobrol lah aku sama beliau. He give me many wise words dan saran sebelum beranjak ke dunia yang bener-bener dewasa. it was all fun and game.
But then, i ask him... "Tapi pak, dengan pemikiran dan wawasan yang luas. Kenapa bapak jadi tukang parkir?" He said ketika beliau di pelabuhan tanjung priuk, dulunya dia kerja sebagai pengangkut barang dan disukai sama bos-nya karena etos kerja-nya yang tinggi (Sambil nunjukin kertas kerja-nya, dan dokumen penting lainnya ketika kerja di pelabuhan tanjung priuk. I was surprised how did he trust me to the point to show me this). He got paid handsomely, dan dia kerja dari pagi ke pagi. Sampai ketika orang dalam plays along dan kompetisi yang ga sehat mulai masuk. Dia suka disenggol dan begitu sebagai-nya... dan bahkan sudah berfikir kalo sebagai pengangkut barang udah bukan passion dia lagi (karena terkadang dia mesti berantem pas ngangkut barang di jalan entah sama pungli, dll).
Dan dimasa dimana dia udah kepala 5 atau 6 ini (kalo ga salah). Dia hanya ingin meninggal dengan tenang aja. Dia bilang sama aku "Keinginan muda dan tau pasti berbeda. Semakin kamu tua, kamu semakin belajar kalo dalam hidup itu ga semuanya bisa kamu dapatkan. tapi kamu ga boleh nyerah, dan harus tekun".

As above. I'm a console gamer, if I ever do game on the PC it will be Civ/AoE type games.
I will be running many VM's (Server, Kali, 2 or 3 Win/vulnerable machines) I will need a GPU for hash cracking too. I have x2 4k Monitors currently.
Current specs - LAPTOP. i9 8950HK - 32gb RAM - GTX 1050Ti Max-Q - 1tb NVMe.
My laptop runs extremely hot (changed to thermal grizzly paste) on a fan pad. And throttles when I have a few VM's open. Not OC'd and tweaked thermal management.
This will be an investment for my career and studying goals. I'm currently a mobile IT Tech, and will have no issue's building myself.

Introduction I spent a lot of time shopping for T480 Thinkpads, upgraded some of them and flipped a few. I haven't found a post like this and since it's probably one of the more popular models, I figured I'd make this buying guide for anyone looking to buy/upgrade a T480. Ideally, this would be the only resource you'll need. Suggestions on improving this guide are welcome!
Why the T480? It was released in 2018 making it not as old a model as others. Most of them feature an 8th Gen Intel CPU which is quite decent and supports Windows 11 officially. It is the last model to feature an internal battery plus an external hot swappable battery. It has a generous amount of upgradability options.
tl;dr Display: Stay away from 1366×768 TN panel. 1920×1080 and 2560×1440 are all IPS and good. Storage: Two slots. NVMe in the main slot is preferrable. Second slot is upgradable with a 2242 WWAN. CPU: Get the i5-8250U, i5-8350U, i7-8550U, or i7-8650U. RAM: Up to 64GB (2×32GB). Easily and cheaply upgradable. GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620. Some models have the GeForce MX150 which gives a nice slight bump in performance. Battery: Internal + External hot swappable. 24Wh external makes the laptop thin. 72Wh protrudes out but gives about 8-9 hours of office work. 48Wh not worth it. Thunderbolt: Get an original charger. Upgrade Thunderbolt firmware and software. Misc: Keyboard can be backlit or not. WiFi can be upgraded but not that necessary. Make sure both charging ports work and display does not have too bad keyboard marks on it.
Display A select few T480 only have a 1366×768 TN panel so make sure to avoid this one. The most common screen is 1920×1080. Some models did have a 2560×1440 screen. Both the 1080p and the 1440p only come in IPS. In my opinion, 1080p on a 14“ screen is perfectly fine but this is highly personal. Someone did a 4K upgrade which I think is overkill on 14“ but it’s definitely cool, so if it sounds interesting, here’s the original post: https://www.reddit.com/thinkpad/comments/s8yf8a/comment/htje9kq/ Some models feature a touchscreen which is only available in 1080p. I haven’t had a chance to use one but users report lower brightness than the non-touch variants. It’s up to you to decide whether you prefer to trade the touch optionality for a decrease in maximum brightness. However, I found that if you really want to have a dedicated GPU, it is more common to find one in the touchscreen models.
Storage There are two slots for storage. ~1) Main~ This will either be equipped with a SATA SSD or a NVMe SSD. Obviously, it is better to get the NVMe variant. There is a way to convert from SATA to NVMe using a caddy but usually, you get no cost savings over getting a NVMe right away. Depending on the seller, it can be difficult to determine what king of SSD is in a particular model just from the listing info and you might need to contact the seller to find out. ~2) WWAN~ There is a WWAN slot for a 2242 NVMe. If you’re getting a stock T480, this slot is never occupied so it’s up to you to put one in. Keep in mind that you need a B-key SSD. Nowadays, it is quite difficult to find a 2242 NVMe with a B-key. It is much more common to find a 2230. But you can get a 2230 to 2242 adapter and fit a 2230 just fine.
CPU There are 7 different CPUs that you might encounter in a T480 and three of them are to be avoided. Unfortunately, the CPU is one of the few things that cannot be exchanged on the T480. i5-7200U i5-7300U i3-8130U i5-8250U i5-8350U i7-8550U i7-8650U Stay away from the 7200U, 7300U, and 8130U. The first two are really not great and additionally if you want to run Windows 11, it is not officially supported on the 7th Gen. A workaround to make a bootable media using Rufus will work but you're always running a risk of a future official update bricking your system. Although the 8130U is an 8th Gen, it’s still dual-core and not very powerful. The 8250U, 8350U, 8550U, and 8650U are all quad-core and if benchmarks are anything to go by, they are pretty similar in performance: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/3042vs3150vs3064vs3070/Intel-i5-8250U-vs-Intel-i5-8350U-vs-Intel-i7-8550U-vs-Intel-i7-8650U You can get the best price to performance ratio with the 8250U and 8350U.
RAM There are two RAM slots on the T480 and usually only one will be occupied. The T480 suppots up to 64GB of RAM (2x32GB). Most often, you'll find a model with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. This should not be a deal breaker since RAM can be exchanged quite easily and relatively cheaply. 16GB of RAM may come in either a 2×8GB or a 1×16GB configuration. If you want to upgrade to 32GB, it's better to get a model with 1×16GB in but you probably won't be able to tell just from the online listing. However, if you're looking to run 64GB of RAM, it's actually better for you to get an 8GB model (since it's going to be cheaper) over the 16GB because you'll need to remove the original RAM(s) altogether anyway. You’re looking for SO-DIMM DDR4 2400MHz sticks (provided you didn’t get the 7th Gen CPUs where you can only get up to 2133MHz). GPU Every T480 comes with Intel UHD Graphics 620. Don’t expect much gaming from this. You’ll be able to run older games on low settings. However, some models did come with the GeForce MX150. It is not really a powerhorse of any kind but if you plan to play games, edit videos, do 3D modelling, or anything GPU related, it will definitely help a bit in giving you that extra bump in performance. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised with how much gaming I was able to do on it. Battery Most models feature a 24Wh internal battery and a 24Wh, 48Wh, or a 72Wh external battery. You will most often find listings with the 24Wh external battery. Both internal and external batteries are something that can be relatively cheaply bought online. The 24Wh battery sits flush with the bottom of the laptop so if you need it to be slick and thin (e.g., when travelling), this is a good option. The 72Wh battery protrudes downwards and lifts the back of the laptop slightly (which can improve cooling I assume). Don’t bother with the 48Wh battery since its headspace is exactly the same as the 72Wh one but with 2/3 of the capacity. You can expect about 8-9 hours of office work with the 72Wh battery. I've been using aftermarket batteries for quite some time without issues but there have been reports of some cases where for example leaving the laptop to run out of juice in sleep mode destroyed the motherboard.
Thunderbolt It's best to buy a model with an original USB-C charger. Some T480 laptops might not have a critical Thunderbolt software and firmware upgrade applied and in order to install them, the original charger might need to be connected. Failure to do so may result in the Thunderbolt port ceasing to work completely and since it's soldered in the motherboard, this cannot be repaired. Misc ~Keyboard~ Some models feature a backlit keyboard. If that’s something you’d like, make sure the model you’re buying has it. You can tell it's backlit by spotting a white pictogram on the left side of the spacebar. There are two backlight intensities, the lower intensity seems to draw much less power than the higher one while still being usable. There are three manufacturers of keyboards for the T480: LiteOn, Chicony, and Darfon with the LiteOn being regarded as the most comfortable to write on. However, this is something you’ll usually never find out in advance from an online listing. But it’s something you can replace in the future if you wish.
~WiFi~ You can upgrade your WiFi card in the M.2 2230 slot to an Intel AX210 which has WiFi 6E 802.11ax and Bluetooth 5.3: https://www.amazon.com/OKN-AX210NGW-Bluetooth-Wireless-Ultra-Low/dp/B08MJLPZPL Apparently, you can get much better WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity with this as the stock card only gives you 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1. I haven’t personally done this upgrade myself as I find that the stock card performs good enough for me. If you work in IT Security, run Kali, and need to do packet injection, then you need to perform this upgrade as the stock Intel AC card does not support it.
~Charging ports~ If you can inspect the laptop in person, make sure to check that both the USB-C and Thunderbolt ports work properly and supply charge without issues.
~Keyboard marks on the display~ Some used ThinkPads including the T480 may have keyboard marks on the display that can be ever so slight or rather heavy. These can sometimes be cleaned but it’s better to look out for this. Unfortunately, it is not difficult to photograph the laptop without making them visible even when they are actually present.
~SIM Card slot~ There is a SIM card slot underneath the external battery. If you put in a card with a data plan, you can get internet connection using cell service. For this to work, the aforementioned WWAN slot must have an appropriate module installed and antennas routed. I did not do this since the setup is quite tedious and I always have my phone with me so in case I need connection on the go, I can make a hotspot and don't need an additional SIM card with additional plans. ~Do I need vPro?~ If you're not a sysadmin, you don't need it.

Just got back today from Disney World / Caribbean Beach Resort. Me and my kiddo (13)
Martinique - preferred room, first floor, corner room (2 windows) near main area with quick service, restaurant, shop and pool. Close to Riviera sky-liner station. Highly recommend this location.
Hotel highlights - pretty grounds, was outside a lot, felt like a tropical location - Great pool with fun slide - Skyliner to Epcot and Hollywood studios. Love the skyliner! - Good restaurant, quick service and pool bar
Hotel cons - longish bus ride to magic kingdom - Rooms okay; nothing special. Would probably feel cramped for more than 2 people - Large spread out property (so request a room near what you expect to use a lot)
DW Food highlights - Sebastian’s bistro taste of the Caribbean esp the rolls and the steak - Les Halles Macaron Lime Raspberry and Jambon Beurre - Tony’s Town Square garlic bread with fondue - Centertown Market pulled pork sandwich - Skipper Canteen cheese balls and steak - La Hacienda de San Angel avocado margarita and queso/chips - Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe chocolate chip cookie

I have mixed feelings about Lighting Lanes. Last time I went to DW there were free fast passes so having to pay and only get one at a time were negatives. Also, often LL were not available at all the entire day so that was frustrating. But when I managed to get ones I wanted, there was minimal waiting in line which is great. I didnt feel like I was on my phone all the time to get a LL. It was very easy to use. Can’t believe that Mine train requires an individual LL!
Was at Hollywood Studios on May the fourth. Lots of people dressed up. It was fun. Didn’t see any special characters.
It was crowded!! Cheer groups and just people in general. And it was hot! Definitely came back with a tan :) —— Previously stayed at CBR (2015), Beach Club (2016) Wilderness lodge (2017 & 2019). Enjoyed all properties.
Forgot to add at first: did not enjoy Disney springs at all. Too crowded and mainly stores I have locally. I was with my kiddo so it’s probably better for an adult trip. Long line for Gideons which seems so insane to me.
I wore New balance fresh foam sneakers and they were great.

TLDR; Anak saya mengalami pendarahan masif, tubuhnya gak bisa memproduksi sel darah sendiri dan dia butuh banyak transfusi darah dan platelet (trombosit). Adik saya bilang kalau kami beruntung tinggal di sini (Taiwan), karena gak perlu kesulitan mencari pendonor ke sana sini. "Kadang, mau cari 1 kantong aja, susah," katanya.
Menurut kalian, faktor apa yang membuat Indonesia kekurangan stok darah? Apakah kesadaran masyarakat untuk mendonorkan darah, masih kurang? Ataukah peran pemerintah untuk mengedukasi yang masih kurang?

Tanggal 5 Mei, anak saya masuk RS jalur IGD, karena batuk dan muntah darah yang parah, dia kehilangan sekitar 3 liter darah di rumah dan selama perjalanan ke IGD. Dan lebih banyak lagi saat sampai di IGD, tapi kami gak tau berapa banyak, karena darahnya ada di mana-mana.
Setelah pemeriksaan, pendarahannya berasal dari Varises Esofagus, yang memang sudah ada diagnosanya sejak lama. Saya gak akan jelasin detail itu apa, karena bukan inti ceritanya.
Rupture Esophageal Varices is one of the most "bloody bath" incident, according to the IGD nurses. They don't experience it that often, though. Mungkin karena tekanan darah di dalam Varises itu tinggi, jadi kalau pecah akan terjadi pendarahan masif.
Selain kehilangan darah yang (sangat) banyak, anak saya juga punya diagnosa Anemia Aplastik, basically sumsum tulangnya sudah gak memproduksi sel darah sendiri lagi. No Red blood cell, white blood cell and platelet. Jadi dia bergantung transfusi darah merah dan platelet. Kalau darah putih, it's a different story.
Setelah operasi minor untuk menutup sumber pendarahan dan sedot darah yang sempat terhirup ke paru-paru, kami fokus untuk mengembalikan volume darah yang hilang. Rencananya 30 kantong darah merah dan 30++ kantong platelet. Or even more.
As a reminder, my son's body is not be able to produce its own blood cells, the transfusions are the only way for his blood to back to the goal level. Dia sudah bergantung transfusi darah merah setiap 5-6 hari sekali dan transfusi platelet setiap 3 hari sekali.
Setelah cerita ke keluarga, adik saya bilang kalau kami beruntung tinggal di sini (Taiwan). Karena mendapatkan 30 kantong darah dan 30++ kantong platelet, kelihatan mudah. Kami gak perlu lari dari satu bank darah ke bank darah lain. Gak perlu upload minta bantuan donor ke sana sini.
I don't say Taiwan is perfect. Kalau stok darah lagi tipis banget pun, ada kok yang juga minta tolong orang untuk jadi donor pengganti. Tapi selama lebih dari 10 tahun di Taiwan, baru 1 kali saya dengar kejadian itu.
So menurut kalian, faktor apa yang membuat Indonesia kekurangan stok darah? Apakah kesadaran masyarakat untuk mendonorkan darah, masih kurang? Ataukah peran pemerintah untuk mengedukasi yang masih kurang?

gua sendiri pertama kali ngerasa kalo gua "miskin" itu pas ngeliat harga rumah 150M di Kemang (yes miliar, not million) dan ngeliat biaya tour ke Europe (gua tau tour ke sana mahal, tapi ga expect kalo harganya sekitar 60jt/ pax)
yg lucu sih setiap ngeliat biaya SPP sekolah-sekolah international yg "belum ada nama" ato "minim" prestasi tapi biaya SPPnya bisa 2 - 3x lipat sekolah-sekolah swasta top yg isinya pun sebenernya banyak orang kayanya like Penabur or Al-Azhar.
dont get me wrong, I'm extremely grateful for the life my parents give me and understand how big the disparity between social classes here, but there are a lot of moments where I look at something and was like "damn, I'm so fcking poor"
