2024.05.14 10:14 Perfect-Virus-7926 manga manhwa or manhua, female lead competent

I really loved queen Cecias shorts and I'm looking for other female competent leads, it needs to be not in a modern setting. It's fine if it's discontinued but there needs to be at least 40 chapters if it is discontinued/on hiatus. If it's on going it can be recommended regardless of how many chapters there are. I also don't mind If it's creating things or just being a badass but it needs to be a good part of the story not just, 'oh I made this thing now I have the male leads attention, drama!' or 'I'm really good at fixing this estate, chapter 1. Now everything is happening in the background as I fight with my rival for the rest of the manga.'
I've already read: accomplishments of the duke's daughter beware the villainess crimson karma his majesties secret heroin duchesses 50 tea recipes duchesses lo-fi coffee house Forget my husband, I'll go make money It's not your baby The master villainess is invincible
I just want them to have a talent that is ACCUTUALY seen. Not just mentioned and glossed over. It needs to have a visible impact in the story. The more accurate and detailed the better.

2024.05.14 06:38 log_eternal I’m meddling

I’m recovering after a breakup and I’ve found someone new to channel my affections toward. A shared transit home has morphed into regular “dates” at tea shops, Korean restaurants, walks in the park. A strange but ardent chemistry has formed. We’ve been texting oblique, teasing messages to each other late at night.
But she has a boyfriend—and they live together. She’s confessed that I’ve made her question her relationship with her boyfriend. I backed off as gracefully as I could while she waffled between staying with him or letting the tension between us grow. She said she needs more time to think. The dizzying sense of romantic momentum redoubled.
It’s been extremely gratifying. This kind of transgressive slow burn almost feels tailored to my ragged state after a very careful amicable—almost professional—break up. I genuinely feel bad for the guy, but I feel more like a catalyst than a wrecking ball.
She wasn’t someone who I was immediately drawn to. But one day on a train platform she held my gaze for an extra beat. I was struck by her elegant eyelashes, and I became flustered. The only physical contact we have had was a lingering brush of our hands as she passed me a bottle of cheap peach soju.

2024.05.14 03:11 OttoVonBlastoid Nature Of A Homeless Musician: Special Thanks/Announcements

Nature Of A Homeless Musician: Special Thanks/Announcements
Hello all! Otto here. And, as you all now know. NoaHM has finally come to an end. It's been a hell of a ride that I'll never forget. But before I move on to thanking specific people and telling you all what's in store, I wanted to be a bit mushy for a minute if you'll indulge me...

When I first heard of NoP, I was in the middle of the night shift that I'm still working to this day. I had a single ear bud in, which was TECHNICALLY against the rules, and still is but fuck 'em. And to pass the time, I listened to stories. Either Mr. Creeps' Creepypasta compilations or, in this case, Agro Squirrel's Tales From Outer SPACE series. And eventually, I heard the name, The Nature Of Predators...and it all went downhill from there as you all can well imagine.

Jokes aside, I fell in love with the story and universe and decided to check out the community. And soon, I found the very first fic I ever read on here, "My Floridian Arxur Daughter". From that point on, I was hooked. I read "Arxur Nursery", "The New Terran Refugee", "Feathers Of Deceit", "Lost In Found", "Recipe For Disaster", "Playing By Ear", and so, SO many more. The sheer amount of creativity on display was amazing. And so...I decided to try my hand at it.

I'd already written a short creepypasta, as well as a small five-part miniseries based off of one of my friends DnD campaigns, so I had a LITTLE experience, but I still hadn't taken a single writing course or knew...anything about what I was doing, so I decided to try something small. (That worked out well...)

I was in the middle of rereading "Floridian Arxur Daughter" for...maybe the sixth time when a particular scene stuck out to me. Something about it...made something click in my head. After evacuating young Chalta from the house, her big bother Carlos and his girlfriend Salisek decide to take her out on a drive, and while their driving, Carlos mentions his ability to sing, and after both Chalta and Salisek both ask for a demonstration, he sings a beautiful rendition of "Send Me A Peach" from Over The Garden Wall.

It was a touching scene, and hearing the song from Chalta's point of view clicked with me. It was by this point that I'd also discovered "Playing By Ear" by u/VeryUnluckyDice, which was essentially this "listening to music through the perspective of someone else's mind" idea made manifest. And that's where it all began. I made a post, proposing the premise of my story, and while I didn't get a LOT of feedback, most of the feedback I got was positive. And a few days later, "Nature Of A Homeless Musician: Prologue" was born, in all of its overly edgy glory. And well...you know the rest from there...

I never could have imagined just how big this story would get. It was NEVER supposed to grow this much, touch so many people, inspire so many others to make stuff themselves. Sure, I hoped that it might, but I never thought it would! But now...here we are...

I...can't put into words, how thankful I am to each and every single one of you, who gave my little idea a chance. It means more to me then I could ever describe. Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to make my living by making things! At first, I thought that just meant being a Youtuber, like every cringy middle schooler does, but now...I think I get it... I've always wanted to be able to make things, and for those things to make OTHER people happy. Make them laugh, make them cry, make them smile, and make their days just a little bit brighter.

I've...long since given up that old dream... I just didn't think it was possible, not for me anyways. But you all proved me wrong. Every comment, every meme, every bit of art you guys make...proves me wrong. When I got my first bit of fanart, I cried at my monitor. Because for the first time in so long that I can't even remember, I was happy. I was so, so happy, because it genuinely felt like this dream that I've had since I was a kid was finally possible. Someone discovered something I made, and enjoyed it enough, loved it enough, got invested enough, to make something themselves just to show me and everyone else just how much they loved it.... And it made me happy, so, so damn happy.

So thank you. Thank you all so much for everything you do. Thank you for reading, commenting, replying, suggesting, joking, laughing, creating, and expressing with me. It means more than you'll ever know. And even if I don't end up pursuing writing after this, my life will never be the same, thanks to all of you.

If you're reading this, right here, right now, YOU, yes YOU... Thank you...for everything you do. And even if you don't think so, I think you're one of the most amazing people in this ass-backwards galaxy of ours. Thank you.

Now then, on to specific thanks:

u/Bow-tied_Engineer: You were literally the first person to tell me that this fic was a good idea. If you hadn't been there in the comments, I might not have gone through with it. And even since then, you've still been an absolute chad. We might not have the same taste in romance sub-plots, but I'll always respect you and your takes. Thank you, for giving me the confidence to give this a try.

u/CaptainChristopher02: The man himself. Your fic, "My Floridian Arxur Daughter" as well as "My Brazilian Arxur Nursery" were, as stated before, the very first fic I read on the sub. And your work was the first tiny spark that slowly became NoaHM. I've said it multiple times, and I'll say it again, if there was no "Arxur Daughter", there would be no "Homeless Musician". When I first started writing, I didn't even think I'd ever even meet you, but the fact that I have, and that you've joined my own little community of music and Tohba memes means the world to me.

u/VeryUnluckyDice: Reading through "Playing By Ear" for the first time was an experience I'll never forget. It was so interesting and different to almost everything else on the sub at the time except "Venlil Metal". You've done so much to inspire me and my work and even now, you're still an absolute chad and someone this community just wouldn't be the same without. I'm really looking forward to the day when our two stories really do cross. It'll be a grand sonata of sound the likes of which this sub has never seen, I just know it!

u/JulianSkies: Ever since you first started commenting on my chapters, you have been an absolutely ENDLESS source of positivity, helpful advice, information on the setting, proofreading, and all around good vibes. I always look forward to seeing what you have to say on the most recent post, and I hope you decide to stick around for whatever comes next. Thank you.

u/xskipy10: Good lord, where to even begin with you? Before, when I mentioned that first bit of fanart that made me cry, that was YOUR artwork. And that one picture, of Michael and the rest of the main cast has had such an enormous impact on not just me, but the rest of the sub as a whole. It was that one picture that gave me hope that the dream I've had since I was a kid was possible. It was your artwork of Tohba that, TO THIS DAY, Dovah is still using to award people who beat him to the precious title of "SPEED". I mean it when I say you are an absolute treasure, not just to me and my story, but to the entire NoP community.

u/OmegaOmnimon02: Before there was GuyWhoExists, there was Omega, the fastest memer in The West. You were the architect of the origianl "Rejoice! Tohba Be Upon Ye" meme, and it has since been used to this day as a form of mutual celebration for all. You've been one of my avid supporters for a long time now, and seeing another of your shitposts in the Discord never fails to brighten my day. Thank you for all that you do.

u/DOVAHCREED12: I swear, if you aren't SPEED when this post drops, I'm gonna be so disappointed. Jokes aside, I have loved and appreciated every single Venbig hug I have ever received from you. Back when I first started writing this, the "Official Venbig Seal Of Approval" was this vaunted, holy, symbol that a lowly peasant such as myself would never be able to earn. And then one appeared in my comments and it felt like freaking Christmas. Thank you so much for giving my story a chance.

u/Ben_Elohim_2020: I'll never get over just how hilarious our first meeting was. What was meant to be a quick one-to-two chapter long side trip with some shady dude in an alley completely spiraled into a giant, five-part, spat with the actual Space Mafia known as The Family. While the Twilight Valley Arc was divisive for a lot of people reading, I hope you know I had a MASSIVE amount of fun writing it with you, and I can't wait to see where you're future projects lead.

Papyroo: (Sorry, I can't remember your new Reddit name) Along with Omega, I've always looked forward to seeing what you have to say when it comes to my fic. And the impact you've had on my story can't be overstated. The Ficnapping you did is the reason that Tohba now has his blue "Tiwfish" plushie. And the events of your addition to my canon will continue to be referenced and fondly looked back on by my characters for a long time to come.

u/Spacer_Catgirl4969: I remember a time when you were still SpacerNEKO. You were always one of my most avid commenters way back when, and I always appreciated your kind words. And I still can't express how cool it was that you actually made a pixel art music video for Dohkar. It still holds up, even now. You and Guywhoexists should TOTALLY work on a project together. With your combined pixel art skills, who knows what's possible?!

u/Mini-Tonk: Well, if it isn't the Rat boi, himself. You have never once faltered in your efforts to not only support my work, but also protect Tohba from the shadows. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and you canonically making ME a character in your fic is still hilarious and heartwarming. Thank you for everything you do.

u/Guywhoexists2812: While you are one of the newest members of our little NoaHM family, that hasn't stopped you from being one of the most active and creative folks we have to offer. The sheer amount of memes and pixel art you've created is downright INSPIRATIONAL. Along with Skipy, whenever someone comes up with a cute idea for art, I know you'll find some way to pull through. Keep creating, King. You are no mere "Guy". You are a KING who exists!

And of course, u/SpacePaladin15 for creating this awesome universe to begin with, without whom, none of use would be here right now.

There are two other names missing on this list, but that's mostly because I'm currently working on a project with them and I don't want to spoil anything...yet.

And speaking of future projects! ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!!!!

It's been one hell of a wild ride, hasn't it? But I tell you this: THE RIDE AIN'T OVER YET!!!!! But...it will be slowing down for a while...

After working on this story for so long, (especially that triple upload. GOD, what was I thinking?!) I am in dire need of rest. So, for now, I will be going on about a month-long hiatus from posting, except for a small occasion here and there. I'll still be active in the community, especially on Discord, but you won't get any big story updates for a while.

Does this mean that I'm done and the story's over? No.

This was but the first arc in the tale of Michael Ruiz Andrews and his family. There will INDEED be MOAR!!!

More music! More hijinks! More action! More romance! More drama! More touching family moments! And, of COURSE, MORE TOHBA!!!!

There will be MOAR!!! Just not yet. My Hiatus will officially start tomorrow after a belated NoaHM Mother's Day Special. I also have a Father's Day Special planned for next month as well. But other than the occasional announcement post, you won't be getting anything story-related out of me until my break is over and I'm ready to unveil the next project I and three other creators have been working on. I won't say anything more on the project, but I will say to keep an eye out...

"But Otto!", I hear you ask.

"If there won't be any more big story updates, how will I get my fix of Baby-roo induced dopamine?! My brain requires more Tohba and Ven-floof memes to give me the goody good chemicals!!!"

Well my friend, I have just the solution for you!!! A SHAMELESS SELF-PLUG!!!

Most of you may already know, but Nature Of A Homeless Musician has its OWN DISCORD SERVER!!!!!!

We've got MEMES, STORY IDEAS, FOOD SO FULL OF LOVE THAT MAMA-ROO HERSELF COULD'VE MADE IT!

We got fanart, gaming chats, and we even plan the occasional movie night!

As well, as soon as this post goes live, I'll be adding a new channel specifically for Q&A and Trivia!
For Example:

Did you know that NoaHM was originally meant to only be ten chapters long?

Did you know Trilly and Dailo were created entirely on accident?

Did you know that the events of the FINALE have been remade, reorganized, and rewritten at LEAST four times?

Did you know...THAT TOHBA WAS BASED OFF A REAL PERSON?!

All of these things are true! And if you want to learn more about the making of this series, direct from my brain, the come on in and ask away!

All I ask in return is that you follow the rules I've laid out a generally not be a jerk. We're here to have fun and be wholesome, so let's keep it that way. I hope to see you there!

https://discord.gg/YSysvHHx

And now, lastly, here's nearly EVERY single meme bit of fanart I've received:

And once again, from the bottom of my heart, with all the love I can muster, thank you.

Does anyone have a Christmas mead recipe to share or ideas for one? I’m looking to use a spruce tip tea as a base with wildflower honey. I’d like it to taste like Christmas time smells. Spices and maybe a subtle fruit flavor. Any suggestions helps

I want: send me your offers! I just started collecting HT this January and don’t have many in my collection yet :) I do prefer pinks/purples/blues!
FSoG and HC have only been swatched, but PT has been used for a few manis. I tried to make it work but couldn’t get myself to like it on me 😭 All of them also have been switched to the thick wands!

2024.05.13 23:50 Lisbeth_Salandar Peaches & Honey by R Raeta: love that lasts centuries

I just finished {Peaches & Honey: These Immortal Truths by R Raeta} and had to come straight here to rave about it!

Synopsis

Anna is a young, poor woman in England 1184, outcasted for her vitiligo. Struggling to survive on her own, she one day saves a girl in dire circumstances. This girl - actually a god in disguise - thanks her with the gift of a divine peach. Anna eats the entire thing, intrigued by its hollow center and lack of a seed. The peach grants Anna a gift: her wounds heal faster than they can kill her. But this gift comes with the challenges of outliving everyone she has ever known or will ever know. As the centuries pass, the only constant in her life is that her creator - Khiran - always returns to see her.

Review

The often-made comparison between this and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue are very apt. That book is pretty polarizing, but I actually liked it quite a bit. However, I liked this one even better. This is the first book in a duology.
This book was excellent for a lot of different reasons:
  • Beautiful, lyrical prose
  • Anna is a deserving and kindhearted FMC, with not an ounce of sass or irony
  • Khiran is an intriguing MMC, a powerful and somewhat depressed man who wishes to live in a world of Anna's creation
  • Khiran's chemistry with Anna leaps off the page
  • Lovely historical settings, cultures, time periods, and people give each chapter a fresh feel
  • More character driven than plot driven, but with characters this great, that's a good thing
  • Deeply romantic pining over centuries
  • Third person POV
My only complaints about this book are quite minor:
  • At some point, it does seem a little silly that Anna just so happens to experience many major world events that a freshman in high school would learn in history class. I mean, yeah she just so happens to be in London during Jack the Ripper and in the US during the Civil War and underground railroad and in Italy during the initial spread of the black plague and in Spain during the first circumnavigation of the world and expansion into the New World and in Boston during the Boston Tea Partyand she's in Germany leading up to WWII At some point those coincidences do seem improbable and very western-centric (only one chapter focuses on the east; a chapter on China and piracy).
  • In addition, there are a 4-5 times in the story that anachronisms pop up that really stood out to me; calling the War of the Rebellion / War for Southern Independence the "American Civil War" in the 1860s just doesn't make sense. Referring to German LGBTQ+ people as "gay" in the 1930s when that term just didn't exist in that context then...
These complaints are very minor, however, because the prose is so beautiful and the characters are so wonderful to read about and experience all these different events through their eyes. The occassional incorrect, anachronistic word used every hundred pages or so is truly not a stumbling block to enjoying this book.
I couldn't put this book down and I am very eager for book 2 to come out in early June!

This book is for you if you like:

  • Flowery, purple prose
  • Slow burn romances
  • Subtle, slow-moving fantasy elements
  • Historical time periods
  • Character-driven stories
  • Mature, complex, deeply human characters
  • The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and/or wanted a kinder, more loving version of that book
  • Books that are free on KU (and currently on sale if you wanna buy it)
  • Stories where even minor characters feel like real humans
  • Stories where the FMC is loved because of her genuine kindness rather than for her beauty or some inexplicable quality that draws others to her
  • Books featuring insecurity due to feeling like an outsider
  • A really cool take on magic / gods / powers that feels almost mythical

Quotes

That night, when she curls up under the blanket and lets the tears drip silently from her cheeks, she wonders how it’s possible to grieve the loss of something she never expected to have.
.
“What we want isn’t always what we need,” Eira says, setting the jar on the table before reaching out and setting her ancient hands on Anna’s shoulders. “Immortality is a fickle beast, dear girl. Stay too long in one place and you’ll rot there.” “But I’m happy—” “No,” she interrupts, “You’re not unhappy. It’s not the same.”
.
Truths are for those who can afford to live it, not for those struggling to find any bright spot of light in a world that casts them into darkness.
.
“It’s easy to be righteous, to be angry, when you weren’t there to see all the blood and misery that came before you,” he says. “Most of these soldiers will only ever see one war firsthand in their lifetime. The ones who survive will grow old and sit in front of their hearths and pass stories of this battle to their children and grandchildren. They’ll romanticize it. Sing praises of how bravely their battalion fought. They won’t speak of the squelch of their fellow friend and soldier’s blood in their boots, or the fear that painted every soldier’s face. Enemy and ally alike.”

2024.05.13 21:27 queenannechick [Review] Posting results of my hunt for Dermalogica Microfoliant Alternatives

I dreamed of Dermalogica Microfoliant ( $19 / 13g ) for ages but could only afford the tiny bottle and to use it sparingly so, I did some research and tried some alternatives.
Good Molecules Pineapple Exfoliating Powder ( $16 / 60g ) is a bit on the rougher side but still in the realm of microfoliant. Its absolutely fine and would be a fine alternative if its the most available. Glass bottle makes me nervous in the shower. Doesn't really smell like pineapple.
By Wishtrend - Green Tea & Enzyme Powder Wash JUMBO ( $20.40 / 110g ) I think this is my favorite but they're all solid. Smells like Green tea.
Kanebo - Suisai Beauty Clear Powder Wash ( $19.30 for .4g x 32 pieces ) These will always have a place in my kit because they're amazing for single-use carry. Keep a couple in my gym bag, car, plane bag, everywhere. Solid option if a bit wasteful with plastic for daily use. Suds up more than the others ( which makes it extra perfect for post-plane/gym quick refresh. )
TONYMOLY I'm Rice Active Enzyme Exfoliating Cleanser ( $14 / 50g ) This one is just a bit too soft for me. Its nice though. It leaves my skin soft as rice always does.
I still want to try:
SEPHORA COLLECTION Super Glow Cleansing Powder Vitamins C+E ( $12 / 25ml )
papa recipe - Blemish Enzyme Powder Cleanser ( $13.20 / 50g )
Ishizawa-Lab - Keana Rice Powder Wash ( $24.40 / 50g )

2024.05.13 21:23 WorldlinessLiving875 White peach fragrance

White peach fragrance
Hello,
I've been looking for a white peach perfume like the scents we can find in Japanese and Korean beauty products.
Do you have any preference between those two perfumes ? I have seen many people talking about the Peau de Pêche from Keiko Mecheri and Peach&Tea from LOE.
Many thanks!

2024.05.13 21:13 Vann_Accessible I’m rather sad the tea sapling sell price was nerfed. I argue it wasn’t broken as an early game money method.

For the uninitiated, tea saplings’ sell price was halved from 500g to 250g in 1.6, leaving the early game tea sapling method no longer viable. This was my early game go to money method for min maxing on consoles, but I didn’t find it broken at all. Granted, it was more efficient than grinding fishing, but not by much. (Note, clay farming was never an option on consoles, and is DEFINITELY broken, yet CA left it in tact as an option for min maxing on PC.)
If I can illustrate, I use reaching the Skull Cavern in the Desert as a metric of comparing early game efficiency, at which point selling iridium bars becomes the best early game money making method. The player needs $42,500 to repair the bus in the Community Center, plus $500 for the first bus ticket the following day, so $43K.
Assuming you aren’t doing a Joja run, and if you are only grind fishing for your money method to reach $43K, and balance your time with acquiring the necessary CC items and reaching mining level 120, you can do these goals and comfortably reach the Desert by Spring 18th, potentially the 17th if you are very efficient with your fishing and mining. Do I consider the fishing grind fun? No, because fishing all day every day gets tedious rather quickly.
Conversely, the tea sapling method is far less grindy, and much more varied in terms of activities than the pure fishing grind, but not actually that much faster. Crafting tea saplings for the bus unlock comes with the time opportunity cost of foraging to craft spring seeds, then planting, growing and watering them to craft MORE spring seeds, cutting down trees for wood, cutting fiber, and leveling up Caroline friendship to level 2 for the tea sapling recipe, while also still fishing, reaching level 120 in the mines and getting the CC items. Considering you can get 30 spring seeds from the CC on Spring 7 at the earliest, and they take seven days to mature, you can have 30 foragables grown on your farm by Spring 14th, in addition to perhaps 20 or so from foragables you’ll find around the valley.
So what does all this effort from the tea sapling method net you compared to purely fishing, in terms of time?
You’ll likely get $43K from selling tea saplings, supplemented with fishing, on Spring 15th, making your first trip to the Desert or Spring 16th. (I managed to reach the Desert on Spring 15th on my latest min max, but this was only possible due to getting both a Neptune’s Glaive and Iridium band, making the mining runs to 120 much faster).
————-
Tl;dr:
Grinding fish to sell: Comfortably reach Skull cavern on Spring 17/18th, not a fun early game money method.
Selling tea saplings, supplemented with fishing: Comfortably reach Skull Cavern on Spring 16th/17th, much more varied in terms of activities
Thoughts?

2024.05.13 20:58 atomicpenguin12 Week 20 Introduction Thread: Peaches

Week 20 will run from May 13th to May 19th. This week's theme is peaches. Peaches are a stonefruit originally domesticated and cultivated in eastern China. They grow on trees and the fruit consists of a large pit surrounded by a yellow or whitish flesh that has a distinct and delicate aroma and sweet taste. Peach cultivation spread throughout the world, with peaches appearing in India in 1700 BCE and in Greece in 300 BC and spreading throughout Eurasia before being brought to the Americas by the Spanish in the 16th century. Today, peaches are enjoyed throughout the world and are often highly prized and culturally significant.
Your challenge this week is to make a cocktail that includes peaches in some form. You may use peach nectar, peach liqueur, or any other form you wish. Here are some ideas to get you started:

2024.05.13 20:09 seaseal1 Tips from a "Newbie Veteran". [ Level 285 ]

I returned after only playing for a few weeks up to level 50-60 in 2020 .Last month the Fallout show prompted me to try 76 again and it feels like a far different experience now! I started a new character and through a great deal of effort (and advice from this sub, Discord and in-game players!) I've learned a few things that new players especially may find helpful. Anyone is free to add on or correct me in the comments. I hope these help!
1. Camps
a. Don't worry about placing your camp in a prime location like Whitesprings or near the Wayward. Find a spot you love the scenery of. I have 3 camps in wildly different places and I get consistent flow of low and high level players.
b. Do two items not want to overlap? Go through the Free Statesain quests in the mire until you unlock the flame trap. You can place it to destroy your own camp items, place new items near, under, or through the broken items, then repair everything and they'll merge together.
c. Want junk items to clutter your home?
d. Make sure your vendor is easy to find. Having a nicely decorated spot that doesn't hide your vendor at the front of your camp sure beats having to explore a box labyrinth to find it!
2. Vendor Stuff
a. Sometimes a vet will donate stuff to you, or into a donation box, but please don't beg or run around trying to offer trades. The more you pester someone the less help you'll get!
b. When I'm vendor hopping (jumping to camps then swapping sessions to shop) I check the inventory of the camp first and on occasion the level of the player the camp belongs to. If see weapons and guns with no legendary effects I tend to pass up the camp, but sometimes I need weapons to scrap for mods. Make sure you have a clean but sizable variety of items!
c. This is a big one for you newer dwellers: Ultracite plans (Mr. Handy buzz saws, Mole Miner Gauntlets, and ugh, revolver ivory grips) are near worthless. Most players have dozens of them. If you don't have them, buy them for 10-100 caps a piece and learn them. Expect most camps you visit to be selling them.
d. See someone selling certain apparel and plans for high prices? Check Fed76 to see an approximate (if sometimes wrong) rarity and value. You'll eventually be doing events and dailies that give you those items often.
e. If you managed to get an item easily and you can repeatedly get it so can everyone else. Don't charge thousands of caps for Blossom Tea recipes, you probably won't sell them!
3. Builds
a. Don't stress too much about having an optimal build! Find a preferred weapon type early and focus on getting its main perks, secondary perks that help improve your performance with said weapon, and make sure you get at least 5 in intelligence so you can swap between crafting perks when needed! At 50, 100, 150, 200 and so on, make sure you pick legendary perks to equip! They help you expand and empower your build.
b. Bloodied and full health builds are incredibly strong compared to others, but you don't have to follow the meta to have fun. Whatever you're most comfy playing is what I personally wanna see you do over trying to turn a few rounds to kill something to 2-3 shots. Have fun!
c. At level 25, you can use a Punch Card machine at a camp or train station (Whitesprings mall too, other hubs) to respec your SPECIAL. Only your special though. You need the perk cards you want already picked through leveling to swap them out. You also get a second load out you can swap to. You can have a second combat build or do like I do and create a crafting/building build that lets me collect resources and make whatever I need too much easier.
4. General
a. If you join an event, there's a 5-6 minute countdown timer until the event starts. Don't start the event until more people have time to join! When an event pops up, I usually have to return to my camp to offload items, get my perks set up, and prepare. This goes for many others!
b. If you're joining events at a low level, it's okay! I can't personally carry a whole team of level 20-somethings through Eviction Notice, but if there's a sizeable group of big kids, we'll don't mind helping you out! Just at least try to complete non-combat objectives. On top of this tag (hit enemies at least once) so you get XP credit and access to their loot when they die. Legendary enemies will drop loot anyways, so you don't have to tag them!
c. If you see an item in a vendor set at 40k, the person isn't being greedy. It's a safeguard against an old bug that would let players steal entire stash inventories for low prices. Although I do have a preserved pie (not rare or valuable either) set at 40k as well in case someone wants to offload caps.
d. If you're like a friend of mine who loves building camps, make sure to be active in events and do your quests! Most quests give you plans, and events do too. Some dailies and events give you treasury notes you can turn into bullion. You'll end up having 3 merchants that sell previous season items, useful items, and some atom shop items for bullion!
e. Fusion Core charger, Mirelurk Steamer, Cement Truck, Vintage Water Cooler, Mothman/Butterfly sanctuary, and basically collection I recommend getting for your camp. A few of these can be bought with bullion so keep up the collection of treasury notes!
f. Early on, try to unlock expedition at the Whitesprings Refuge. You can run Tax Evasion in Atlantic City. It's relatively easy and quick. It gives you legendary weapons, legendary modules, caps, ammo and a big chunk of XP! Once a week playing Tax Evasion also rewards you with one of the stamp plans you can get from Giuseppe in the Refuge.

2/15 posts were about Joe liking bacon and Whataburger
3/15 posts were a tribute to her sweet momma
📢 For our friends at Meta, that means >53% of her monetized content had nothing to do with weight loss, which is the tagline and purpose of her page.
⚠️ Disordered Eating- Daily Food Consumption (Data compiled from monetized content):
0 WW Points: Hot Coffee. No protein shake or almond milk is described
0 WW Points: SalTea Sloth Loaded Strawberry, Watermelon, and Coconut Tea with 1/4 scoop "energy" (caffeine and other additive/chemicals);
4 WW Points: G Hughes Sweet & Spicy Shredded Crockpot Chicken, Cooked Red Potatos & Roasted Corn with spray vegetable oil.
25 WW Points: Great American Iced Cookie Cake Slice
📢 For our friends at Meta, that means Kylea consumed 4 WW points of her (up to) 30 WW point daily allowance and used 25 of her 28 weekly points on a sweet treat= Disordered Eating. This will be explained in more detail below. Please follow your policies on eating disorders and take action against Kylea Gomez.
Recipes Shared for Joe:
  1. Cherry Cheesecake Overnight Oats
  2. Pretzel Salad
📢 Joe is not on WW and prefers calorie-dense foods (per her content). Why post recipes of items she will not eat and Joe does not prefer?
🚨 Please speak with a medical professional about any questions or concerns you have about your health.
Comments: Although Kylea tried to focus her content on Mother's Day, the focus shifted to triggering food content and deadly messaging on the topic.
⚠️ Binge Eating, Compulsive Buying Disorder (CBD), aka shopping addiction, Death, Disordered Eating, Food Addiction, Gaslighting, Grief, Pregnancy Loss, and Religion will be discussed.
☮️ Today's discussion will be heavy. Please bow out at any time. Your mental health is more important than my comments.
Gibson Moon: Kylea kicked off the day early with this triggering post (she did not use a disclaimer), "Happy Mother's day to the momma's whose babies live in heaven with my sweet boy." An angel wing ornament with Gibson Moon and 9-5-22 is shown. She did not disclose this was an early pregnancy loss, leading followers to believe she lost a living child.
Using the Cat for Content: Kylea is feeling "a lot better" and will only have 1 cup of coffee today and "continue focusing on water." 🤔
Countdown to Concerts: Kylea is excited to "wear my pink boots again" at future summer concerts and "Just 18 days until I take Joseph to see Hardy." Kylea is a master at emasculating Joe with subtle digs. "...until I take Joseph to see Hardy." Please disregard the fact she travels to California tomorrow and getting a puppy in 1 week. I'm convinced she is not capable of living in the present moment.
SalTea Sloth to the Rescue: Why drink water when you can drink thrice-flavored tea with a caffeinated "energy" boost to cure your illness? 😉 This was Joseph's gift to her for Mother's Day.
Tribute to her Sweet Momma: Kylea praises her momma in a series of posts today. A quantity of fresh flowers to equal the 3 decades of her being a mother, a giant iced cookie cake, and gift bag (unknown contents) with a backyard BBQ and a new inflatable hot tub + previous all-expense paid cruise, wardrobe, and accessories were necessary to prove her love and adoration. 💰💖
Joe Loves Bacon & Whataburger: Joe's weight rapidly fluctuated in pictures today. 👀 He was the grill master with a pile of bacon, burgers (not shown), and then goofily posed in front of the unopened Whataburger. (He will be eating there tomorrow.) Remember Joe has not gained ANY weight and eats what he wants. Kylea triggers her followers on purpose for monetary gain. The fact that Meta is paying for this content on a weight loss page is a head scratcher.
The big finale: This is the time to bow out if triggered on the topic of disordered eating. My words will be harsh.
Kylea wants you to believe she has been extremely ill with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. She consumed a Loaded Tea and brought her own low WW point chicken to a family barbecue. She shows a picture of a large Iced Cookie Cake she purchased. She shows a large piece she eats for 25 WW points. Here we go...
Follower: "That looks good was it worth the points?"
Kylea: "I just see food as food. So it was fine. 💖"
⏸️ This is gaslighting. Kylea has a serious eating disorder. She chooses not to use her WW daily points and obsesses about planning for and obtaining her weekly calorie-dense TREAT.
Food is Fuel Speech: "Hey friends I haven't really had the energy lately to explain, but I view all food as food and not a treat. Green beans, brownies, chicken- it's all food to me. That's the way I feel has helped me the most to completely reform my relationship with food. Fuel. No matter what. 💖 It's all about balance."
Follower: "Yummmm! They got us cupcakes at work, I had to indulge."
Kylea: "I don't look at dessert in that way, to me it's just food. 💖💖"
⏸️ Kylea loves to rate her meals, desserts and treats 10/10 and wants you to mimic her choices.
Follower: "Everyone needs a sweet treat! Your awesome! Enjoy and celebrate your Mom! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️"
Kylea: "I don't use the word treat, just food! 💖💖"
⏸️ This is a lie. Throughout a large portion of her monetized weight loss journey, Kylea used the word "treat" in her content. Somewhere along the way, that word became a trigger for her.
Follower: "Good philosophy. I need to lose obsession with food as comfort and companion."
Kylea: "I did on July 5 of 2021.💖"
⏸️ This is potentially deadly messaging. Kylea wants you to believe she received divine intervention when she wept at the feet of Jesus in July 2021 inside a bath tub (she also claims she could not fit in). She wants you to believe that in that moment, the chains of her 20-year binge eating/food addiction (two separate issues she uses interchangeably) were broken, and she has had a perfect journey since. She is desperate for you to believe she has had no cravings, no setbacks, or plateaus, and has not gained ANY weight since reaching her goal in July 2023. This is a lie proven through her own content.
Many artificial sugars are sweeter than natural sugar. She is addicted to "sweet" and fulfills her cravings daily. She "plans" for calorie-dense sugar bombs weekly and tries to claim treats are medically necessary to jump-start weight loss, keep her out of ketosis, prepare her body for pregnancy...
If food is just food and it is all fuel, why do diseases and conditions like diabetes, hypertension, strokes, and heart attacks occur? Why is there an epidemic of morbid obesity? Foods are not and will never be on a level playing field. Kylea has provided no proof of formal education in medicine, nutrition, health, or wellness. Stop looking to UNeducated influencers for your health and wellness advice. Her motive is to make money. Otherwise, the stats and comments I provide in these daily and weekly recaps would tell a different story.
Kylea has gained weight, and it is obvious, even through highly modified photos. She stopped showing her scale pictures, started wearing larger clothing, spandex tank tops and shorts, became defensive about body shaming, and either hides or shows clothing tags (depending on her mood). She lives in fear of the scale and the truth.
Follower 1: "How? I'm struggling so bad."
Follower 2: "I'm struggling as well! All I think about is food."
Kylea: "finding healthy coping skills"
⏸️ In what world are extramarital affairs, mocking, blocking, and doxxing followers, an out of control shopping addiction, disordered eating, boasting and complaining about your 18+ hour work days 24/7/365, constantly running away from your problems (frequent travel), and inappropriate parasocial relationships with musicians and the Basham & Lee's healthy coping skills? Someone, please explain it to me.
Kylea, you need holistic care from a team of medical professionals. They are not the enemy. People of faith should not feel shame for seeking medical care. It is time to put your devices down and prioritize your health. ☮️
Takeout Purchase: SalTea Sloth Tea with Energy= $8 est + tip;
Shopping: Blue Hydrangea= $24.82 est; *Fresh Cut 2 Dozen Roses= $39.94 est; Iced Cookie Cake= $44.99 est; Items in gift bag= Unknown;
*I do not feel there were 36 roses in the vase.

First time brew, is it mold?
I followed the recipe in the wiki for first time brewers. This is day 20, the black patches haven’t grown at all and I think it’s probably just accrued tea solids but wanted some advice before proceeding. No pellicle to speak of but kept at exactly 80 degrees 24/7.

2024.05.13 18:37 FanRepresentative985 Do yall ever get offered snacks from other trades?

I’m (23F) just sitting in my car for lunch and one of the plumbers just knocked on my window and offered me an iced tea😂😂. I work in new construction so we all usually take lunch that way
I wasn’t even expecting another human so I politely said no, watched him walk to a coworker car and shook his head after looking at me. Not the first time I’ve had someone do that. I wanted to say yes so bad it was a peach tea but I always turn that stuff down bc I’m worried about people talking about me. Maybe I should have just said yes and not overthink it but being the only woman on these sites can be intimidating when it comes to socializing, I usually keep to myself

2024.05.13 16:14 _TTVgamer_ When should I add dry berries?

I'm currently making my own recipe for dried wild berries I bought off a market. This is usually meant for tea, but I thought it would be a nice taste for mead too!
I'm not sure if I should add the berries in primary or in secondary. I'm afraid I won't get as much taste when adding it in secondary, and have bad memories of adding fruits/tea in primary because it is usually too full. Thanks a lot!

2024.05.13 14:50 valkrianrose New to tea not sure how to drink

Hello!
So I'm new to tea, the only one I've really enjoyed was a peach tea from a bbq joint in my town but aside from that, any other teas I've tried to brew tastes really watery or just muted. I've tried some teas from the grocery store and from dollartea but they all ended up tasting really muted. Not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong or maybe its just not for me.
I usually drink a lot of soda or coffee a couple of times a week, so I'm not worried about caffeine levels. (I'm trying to cut down on the soda which is a battle with ADHD/PCOS.) What am I doing wrong? What are some good recommended teas?

2024.05.13 07:31 DoomGoober The English term "bao bun" originally referred to a specific type of bao: 割包 (gua bao). Here's why calling something a "bun bun" might not be that bad.

To someone who speaks English and Chinese, hearing "bao bun" sounds slightly absurd. It's akin to "chai tea" or "naan bread": ask Google to translate those phrases and you get "tea tea", "bread bread" and "bun bun".
But is 包 (bāo) really equivalent to the English language "bun"? It can be: When you eat roast duck with bao, the bao acts like a hamburger bun: bread and meat cooked separately, then combined together right before eating. A bun.
But! Bao can also mean other things: It can mean a dumpling or bread encasing a filling that is cooked together, the latter having no English equivalent other than maybe "pasty/hand pie" or "steamed, filled bread." Bao can also mean to wrap something up. Like a lot of Chinese words, "bao" by itself is slightly ambiguous.
So how do Chinese speakers tell these meanings apart? Well, generally, they add qualifiers: "Xiao Long Bao", "Nai Wong Bao", "Baozi", "Gua Bao". That is, Chinese speakers qualify the word "bao" with all sorts of things to indicate what they really mean.
So, that brings us to "Bao Buns". OK, it's Bao qualified with an English word: "Bun". But doesn't that mean "Bun Bun"? Well it could, if you literally translate "Bao" as meaning "Bun". But as we demonstrated earlier, "bao" more literally translates as "wrapped or surrounding, as in food." The word "bao" encompasses much more than the word "bun". So what really is a "bao bun?"
If you look at the most common usages of "bao bun" recipes and on Wikipedia, we find that "bao buns" tend to refer mostly to 割包 (gua bao), literally "cut bread". It's bread and filling cooked separately, bread knife cut so it forms an envelope into which filling is placed after cooking. The specific type of "bao" is called 荷叶饼 (lotus leaf bread) with lotus referring to the shape of the bread. This bread is functionally equivalent to a hamburger bun or hot dog bun.
So, you're a food vendor trying to sell Gua Bao filled with Pork Belly in an English speaking country, likely America at first. "Gua" is a foreign word for most English speakers but many English speakers know what Xiao Long Bao and Baozi are. Trying to tap into the more "hamburger bun" like aspects of 荷叶饼 (lotus leaf bread) but not wanting to lose the Baozi aspects (steamed, flour)... "Bao Bun". And the name sticks.
Is it kind of funny to people who speak both Chinese and English? Sure. But the name sticks more than "gua bao". A little funny, but not too different than the Chinese speakers who qualify bao with its size, shape, or filling or how it's cooked.
Now, should English speakers called every type of bao a "bao bun?" Should baozi be called "bao buns"? No, probably not: "bao bun" should refer to flour bread used like a hamburger bun. But here's where British English and American English come to clash: "bun" in America English usually refers to "hamburger bun" or "hotdog bun". "bun" in non-American English refers to any small bread (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/bun). Now, to British English speakers, "bao bun" sounds like the name for any steamed, flour bread... over time "bao bun" comes to means any Asian style steamed, flour, bread.
We'd all have been better off if those first vendors just called them "gua bao." But in a pinch "bao bun" makes some sense and understanding the tangled linguistics, English + Chinese speakers might forgive them a little.

2024.05.13 06:48 Dependent_Answer2603 How the heck do you layer scents effectively?

HELLO! QUICK QUESTION! :)
Not all of my perfumes I like have body wash or lotion, so I'm looking to learn how to layer my body washes. I was thinking about this because my family got me some Dr. Teals Lavender shower gel and lotion, which I would like to build on! Do you know any scents that go well with lavender? Like would Lavender layered with a tea scent work? Or peach? Or something else? I'm just wondering.
I also love my Cashmere and Rain Native body wash and looking for something that would layer well with that!
Do you have rules/ways you think about it?

2024.05.13 05:36 -cosmic-bitch- My First Time at [Holiday World] - Trip Report

My First Time at [Holiday World] - Trip Report
[The Raven] and [The Voyage] are pictured. Also, honeysuckles at the base of The Voyage.
Trip Report, Sunday, 05/12/2024 Waterpark was closed for the day. Every coaster except Good Gravy had a station wait. I went solo. I didn't ride anything this trip except the coasters.
My overall thoughts: This place is really in the middle of nowhere and I love it. The park was super clean. The staff was very nice, but it seemed like a lot of them were new employees. The theming was in some ways cool and a little cheesy/tacky in other ways (Dollywood is my home park though, so my expectations are just high). Halloween is my favorite holiday and they are missing opportunities here unfortunately. The sound of the Legend's bell is the coolest thing in this section. The Thanksgiving section somehow had the best music. There were a lot of places to sit and chill and the bathrooms are so conveniently placed. The whole park had a very nice, chill atmosphere. And the park smelled like honeysuckles because they were everywhere behind the fences.
I bought a pineapple/strawberry twist dole whip which was wonderful. And I bought an alcoholic iced peach tea, which was surprisingly good and not sickeningly sweet like I was worried it would be. Did not purchase food food this visit. But I do have a dairy allergy and I noticed at least some of their online menu is likely not accurate when it comes to the allergen guide, so be careful with that and ask for the binder boi guide at each individual place if it's a concern.
From my perspective, there's a pretty okay mix of coasters considering this is a smaller park. Even with 3 of them being similar woodies, they all have a personality. I love that all the coasters except Good Gravy go out into the woods. Nothing terribly scenic, but it's still nice. I am excited for night rides. The woodies were a little more rough on me than I was expecting, but still -mostly- smooth experiences. However, a small amount of debris was flying in my face/eyes on the woodies.. wonder if it's wood chips/sawdust from track updates? Or maybe just stuff that fell out of trees after those storms?? There was something notably large enough on Voyage that if it had hit my eye rather than my cheek, I think it would have damaged my actual eyeball. But thankfully, it wasn't a big deal.
Some random and potentially helpful observations: The pepsi oasis stations all have a few variations of drink options, but like half of them do not have water at them for some reason. I recommend bringing an empty bottle.
I honestly do not understand the tram system here, but they do have one. I just walked but it was not far at all. However, I did lose where I parked my car for a couple minutes.
You can place your bag/items at the station on every coaster. They have bins for loose articles.
Ride Reviews:
The Raven (7/10)(x1): I thought this was good! A bit rougher than the others and kind of short compared to everything else. But I enjoyed it and I liked the turn that went out over the water.
The Legend (10/10)(x2): Okay, hear me out.. I think I liked this one the best. I'm going to have to re-ride this and The Voyage later this season to really know for sure. They both have hella tunnels and I am so into that. But upon my first impression, I like the forces and elements on the Legend the most. I love the drop, the laterals, and the one very strong pop of airtime near the end. This coaster just has so much character.
Also, short story time! On my first ride, the train was just dispatched out of the station. While it was moving, an employee reached over the yellow safety line to grab a fallen scrunchie and the ride op immediately emergency stopped the train. We were able to get re-dispatched quickly. Just thought it was interesting and the ride op did a great job. He probably just saw someone in his peripherals go over that line and he did not hesitate. But who knows what that other employee was thinking haha.
Good Gravy (7/10)(x1): So this one I liked! It understandably had the longest wait, which was about 20-30 mins. Super cool theming. I chose to ride in the very back row. I'm sure most of you know, this ride is really the same type of coaster as Big Bear Mountain except it's a small boomerang. I would say the forces are pretty similar, and it's just as smooth. From the back row, I enjoyed the initial drop/launch and backwards portion the most. I assume for front row, the best part would be the spike. It was super short, but you do go through a cranberry can while riding in a gravy boat haha. The novelty of it all makes this coaster super fun. I also love the color scheme. Good Gravy vibes all around. I hope Holiday World adds more family coasters for the sake of the GP hahaha.
Thunderbird (9/10)(x3): I rode this one the most times because it had no wait and I basically climbed mount everest to get there lol. Got front row edge seat every time, and I tried out both sides. This ride is awesome. More forceful than Wild Eagle for sure. The loopdy loops and pulls were so snappy and fun. Great hang time at the end. I like the launch and the following element a lot, but I do think I prefer Wild Eagle's 200 ft drop to this launch. It was kind of a relief to ride this in the middle of the wooden coasters.
The Voyage (10/10)(x1): This was epic, but it was a lot to handle. It was really really fun and very long. I loved all the drops. The first drop and second hill and drop were glass smooth. There was one very, very rough spot somewhere in the layout but other than that, it was an enjoyable and intense experience. I was already exhausted by this point so next trip, I'm riding this first. But, man, was this ride a whole experience haha :)
