2024.06.09 15:16 WinRARPurchaser Realization: From childhood, I was manipulated into hating myself

TW: This is about self doubt, anxiety and self hate.
i want to share another story of family and people who were supposed to be my safe space hating me and breaking me, hoping that they might be other people with similar experiences so that they dont feel alone.
Hey i am a medical student in germany, and only now i am realizing how massive my problems are. I am 21yo moved out 6 months ago and started therapy just recently. I lived my life accepting being in a constant state of awareness, rush and stress in every decision and thought i make, but particurlarly in social situations. i wake up anxious, i question every decision i make. i fear judgement and i judge and think about my actions all the time. I am trying to be better all the time and life was so hard. on the other side life is so beautiful and i dont want to live my life in this state.
During childhood, my family demanded obedience. Everything must be followed and everything else so as i was a child and never developed my self worth and confidence, i constantly was under obedience i had to listen and to follow. and never really developed my own thoughts. never really developed my own values. and my family hated each other. there was only judging and controlling each other and hating. i never felt secure and i still dont feel secure with my parents. i never had a safe space to express my negative feelings. they were always neglected and pushed away.
so when i was with another person, he told me manipulative things and i had to follow them, because i accepted and still accept every thought other people give me. he was at first a school friend i spent much time with, i trusted him we were best friends. i listened to him an trusted him. but suddenly he told me that other peobple hated me he told me that i am stupid and useless. he broke me. he knew that i would accept everything from others and continued planting this doubts and hate into me. that went over many years. everytime i was around him he planted these thoughts inside of me after evry interaction ih ad he said to me that the other person hated me. i adapted these kind of thinking patterns and until now i still think them and they are breaking me. i wake up anxious and think about every interaction i have with other people. judging every action and every thought i have. its exhausting and its hurtful. i cant enjoy being around people because i think i have to be funny or have to perform. its stress and its not being there.
only recently i discovored that this is not the state other people find themselves in, yes people think what they do and social interactions are alway somewhat scary. but i suffer so much and other people seem to be much more free than i am. only recently i discovered that some people actually have a safe space at home and are able to express their doubts and negative feelings etc. i never had that and i still interact the way i interact with my parents:
  1. i always think that people expect something from me
  2. i always think that people hate me
and thats all because that was demanded in childhood and with this former friend and manipulator
I know there is much potential in me. i know i am creative, sensible, have great capacity to think through situations. I want to change the world to be a better place as a physician. I am also working in a elementary school looking after kids and trying to give them every positive thing i can give them.
i want to feel better i want to connect with other people and there is so much pain and doubt and missed meaningful things in my life all because they are negative thinking patterns that were planted inside of me. and i am afraid to talk about it because its so absurd. its so absurd that i hate myself and that i have so much pain that i inflict to myself. this is illness. i am dissociating from conversations to judge and think about things that i said a minute ago. i am not free and i think and think and i hate conversations. i hate being around people because i feel obliged to serve them all the time.
I live in a privileged part of the world and i have everything. i have a home, i can buy quality food, have every entertainment i want, i have peace and freedom, objectively. and i hate that i am still not well. there are people with real objective problems like war and poverty, and i live here in peace, hating myself because someone broke me.
I think this is cPTSD, and my therapist is talking with me about it. We are talking about medication as well, and I am getting better at opening myself. about changing the ways i think. but still, life is very hard everyday. i try to tell myself that i am fine as well, and i pretend that i am fine and happy. but it slowly doenst work anymore.
i hope someone can relate and i can alleviate the fear of being alone with this sort of problem.

2024.06.09 15:03 ConclusionOutside259 Nous Klaer Festival Rotterdam - POV it's your first time at a real techno party

Yesterday I (M25) visited the Nous Klaer festival in Rotterdam at BRUTUS, a venue next door to BITTER. A club I’ve heard good things of but never went. I’m more familiar with the bigger events like Awakenings, Rotterdam Rave or free your mind but never had a “school”-like techno experience. This will be a review of someone who doesn’t have any experience in this scene and experiences it for the first time. A friend of mine who has been yapping on about her school time invited me to this festival and I’m forever in her debt because this festival raised the bar for me.
Location
A short walk from Marconiplein is an industrial site with different creative venues, setting the mood for a night of unfiltered artistic expression and vibrant energy. You entered through a beautiful sculpture garden with some wacky statues and get instantly drawn in into the first stage, a big open space perfect for a sundown set. The second stage was inside a warehouse with high ceilings and pillars, filled with smoke and lasers this stage was mesmerizing. If you entered a small door at the end of the cathedral and pass through a tunnel you can get to the third stage, disco inferno. Called after the exposition that was around it, a fascinating contraption that I didn’t understand but kept my mind guessing. Finally for the the people who like intimate sets there was the rave keet, a small ten by five meter cabin that shakes when everybody bounces. Big shout out to the organizers for this whole setup, it was perfect for walking circles, side questing and making you linger at places.

Music
This is the good shit, this is where this festival and the line up shines. Like I said I’m used to commercial DJs who just do transition mixes, but this was the real thing. DJs creating soundscapes with loops and basic sounds to a point where you don’t know what sounds come from the left or right deck. Highlights for me were Nelly b2b Tammo Hesselink, two different sounds that compliment each other. The trancey sounds of Nelly with the berlin sound of Tammo set the stage for the rest of the day. Hilbert played in the bowels of the festival in the disco inferno. Apparently it was the first time for the man in a long time, but you wouldn’t have noticed. The man was doing his magic live, constantly reusing different sounds in different orders making you hyped when a bass pattern came around again. During Konduku B2B Mary Lake in the concrete cathedral someone said to me, “this is total berlin vibes” and I totally believed him even though I’ve never been there. The hard beats hit the dancefloor in the cathedral like a priest delivering a sermon to the faithful. And I could only follow his lead and dance the sins away. If this is that berlin vibe that everybody keeps talking about I really need to make a pilgrims journey to the city. Finally John Talabot came to tear up the dancefloor outside and I don’t even know how to describe this, he played a mix of tribal, techno and drum and bass, I think? Never heard anything like it and I’m afraid I won’t find anything like it for a long time. This man is insane and everyone should experience this live. I’m literally speechless about this set.

Atmosphere
When you’re used to a crowd of buff muscles dudes and Instagram girl ravers it felt like a breath of fresh air to see and feel the diversity of this crowd. Cool outfits, funny personalities and everyone being open for a conversation of course but you could tell the people who went here were the people of the good life. The people who don’t just go to get fucked up but enjoy the day and most importantly the music. Even though some people were having conversations right in the middle of the dancefloor sometimes, you could always find a spot to space out and rave with people who vibe like you. I’m not a social butterfly like my friend, so I lost her at some point but that didn’t matter because I ended up dancing like manic with the other big dancers somewhere in the back. I make big movements when I dance and can easily push against people or accidently knock them, but everytime it happened people were like “Nah man you’re the good vibes, enjoy your time”. Final shoutout to the left front, lit as always no matter what stage. The vibe was great for people who just like to dance, great for people who prefer to socialize and for people who like to sidequest.
I can’t wait for the future events of nous klear, don’t know if they do more things like this at this venue but I could see myself becoming a regular at maybe the coolest festival I’ve been in my own town. Definitely going to end up in my top five festivals. For an event so small it left a huge impact on me. For people who were there too, if you saw a tall guy with long blonde hair, bandana, watermelon t shirt and probably dancing like a mental patient it was fun to experience this with you all and I can’t wait till next time.

2024.06.09 15:01 RobotDevil222x3 Reddit Strength - Week 8

Welcome to week eight of eight of the Reddit Strength program. I hope you've all been enjoying it so far. If you missed any previous weeks, this is something you can jump into any given week you don't need to have been there week one for it to work. This strength schedule is designed to help you progress from one weight to the next (if that is what you want, you are of course free to maintain the weights you use as well). There is a #RedditStrength for those interested in joining it.
Wait, you just said eight of eight, does this mean it is ending? No, it will just be looping back around again. Next week we will go back to week 1's schedule again, with a couple of substitutions based on feedback, any purged classes, and the desire to occasionally mix in a new class.
Each class will list "light" or "heavy", this is not to be confused with the Light/Medium/Heavy weights instructors ask you to use for each move. What it means is, lets say you normally use 5/10/20 but you are hoping to level up to 10/15/25. When my class says "light" you would use your 10s when the instructor calls for medium weights and when my class says "heavy" you would use your 15s for the same move. This will help us to progress to where the 15s are your new normal.
Monday:
Wednesday:
Friday
Extra Credit:
Benchmark: Every 2 weeks each body area has a Benchmark class. These are from the Pump Up the Volume collections and allow us to go through a progression of 4 classes with mostly the same class plan but different actual classes meaning different music, different stories and sometimes different instructors. These classes are all Rep based, which makes them great for benchmarking. You are encouraged to adjust the weights and reps to meet your personal goals. If Adrian tells you to do 10-12 reps with your medium weight but you want to do 6-8 reps with your heavy weight, go for it! This can be especially useful in the first classes where they keep the weights lighter, as these are intended to help you progress during the four classes.
Extra Credit: These are extra classes for those who want more work than the standard schedule. They are also good substitutions if for any reason you don't like a class or instructor on the schedule.
You can stop reading here unless you want to know why I am scheduling what I am scheduling.
The basis is a 4 week progression. In each body area we will use light weights for 2 weeks then heavy weights for two weeks per the definition of light and heavy above.
It follows this pattern, aiming for 30-60 minutes a day 3 days a week:
Each body area has the schedule staggered, so you're not trying to go all heavy in every area in the same week. This week we have A&S in round 4, C&B in round 3 and G&L in round 2.
FAQ
  1. Can I start any week or do I have to begin with week 1?
    1. You can begin any week. This is a repeating cycle with no real beginning or end, a mobius strip of a program.
  2. There are too many classes for me, how should I trim it down for my schedule?
    1. I recommend trimming evenly (but keep all the core if you can). So take off 1 A&S, 1 C&B and 1 G&L each week if that suits you better. Or at minimum just do the benchmark classes.
  3. Do I have to do these on the prescribed days? I would rather take a couple classes a day for 6 days.
    1. Absolutely mix and match the classes across the week however fits best into your schedule. They are only listed this way because this is my personal schedule. As long as you are doing them all in the week you should get similar results.
Feedback
I would love to hear what everyone things. Specifically; Are there any classes you would like me to rotate out (why)? Is this the right amount of strength work for you? Do you have a favorite class you are hoping I work into the mix?

2024.06.09 15:00 BlackFenrir [Spoilers C3] I made Calder Kildé as a PF2e character

Previously, in The Various 2 Crew PCs As PF2e Characters:
Heya! Welcome back to me only partially succeeding in translating the character concepts of the 2 Crew PCs into PF2e characters. Today, we'll take a look at Calder, a significantly easier build than Calli's the translate.
The usual disclaimer:
If you're coming from D&D 5e and are not familiar with Pathfinder 2e: While many character concepts can be easily transferred from one system to another, many of their mechanics cannot. Some items or spells don't exist, some rules are different. This is NOT an attempt at a 1 to 1 conversion, though I tried to stick as close as possible. If any of the mechanics in this sheet need any clarification, feel free to ask in the comments.
As usual, Calder's been built up to level 10! Since someone asked last thread: No, I'm not using any optional rules like Free Archetype. I do in the games I run, but in these builds I like to challenge myself and stick close to universally accepted rules. Aside from rarity, I'm building these pretty much PFS legal.
Now then, let us begin.
Level 0:
Ancestry: As of right now, there is no half-giant or giantkin Ancestry or even Versatile Heritage, which means we're going to have to hack our ancestry. We can't replace it with another, since his being a small giant is an integral part of his character, so we need to find a combination of mechanics that we can reflavor as small giant.
In the Calli thread, someone made the excellent suggestion of going for Minotaur, as they are a Large ancestry...
Heritage: ... and Littlehorn Minotaurs are the runts of the litter. Minotaurs get an unarmed horn attack, but being littlehorn makes it 1d6. However, we're reflavoring this as small giant, so that's just a matter of promising not to use that feature. Minotaurs also begin with Jotun, aka Giant, as a starting language. Littlehorn also gives us Terrain Expertise, which we can choose Arctic for.
Class: Magus. Eldritch Knight could also be done with Fighter and Wizard (and I believe that's how you got access to the Prestige Class for it in 3.5e/Pathfinder 1e), but Magus is conceptually just perfect for Calder. The only problem is we don't have Heavy Armor yet, which is a pretty big part of his whole shtick, but we'll get to that. We're taking the Inexorable Iron hybrid study. It's the big two-handed weapon blasting subclass.
Background: Guard, as all three of them were employed as a sort of guards by Mothership. I considered the Magical Experiment, but it only gives one Attribute Boost and it's to CON. It's good and very flavorful, but I gotta have my +4 Key Stat
Attribute Modifiers at first level: STR +4, DEX +0, CON +2, INT +3, WIS +1, CHA -1
I stuck to standard ability selection instead of going with the alternative two free boosts with no flaws. This means we start with a -1 in CHA, but we don't really need CHA anyway. We have a Calli in the party for that!
Along the way, STR, CON, INT and WIS are going to be the stats we invest in with the Boosts we get along the way.
Level 1:
Ancestry feat: Pantheon Magic. The downside of Minotaur is that it doesn't have many feats that we can reflavor as Giant stuff, so we're just grabbing the one free cantrip and take Shield, which is going to be very useful to us as we'll be using a greatsword and therefore no shield. It also saves us a Cantrip slot, and Magus gets very few spells.
Level 2:
Class Feat: Sentinel Dedication. Heavy armor proficiency that grows just as fast as our other armor proficiencies. Its Archetype feats are shit, so we won't be taking any of them, we just need the dedication.
Skill Feat: Recognize Spell
Level 3:
General Feat: Fleet. Now that we have Heavy Armor, we'll be slower. Our CON is good, so we don't need Toughness just yet. With how fast Sol would be in this party, it's important to keep up to properly set up flanking.
Level 4:
Class feat: Devastating Spellstrike. Spellstrikes now do splash damage.
Skill Feat: Arcane Sense. More free cantrips!
Level 5:
Ancestry Feat: Puzzle Solver. He smort
We're boosting INT, so we get another skill. I haven't really discussed skill proficiencies so far but I just wanted to mention that canonically this PF2e version of Calder became a theater kid at level 5. He is now trained in performance.
Level 6:
Class Feat: Reactive Strike. It's just really good, and you won't be using your reaction for anything anyways.
Level 7:
General Feat: Toughness. You're a frontliner. You want more HP.
Level 8:
Class Feat: Fused Staff. Grab a staff loaded with Cold-themed spells and Spellstrike your heart out.
Level 9:
Ancestry Feat: Friendly Nudge. It can in a pinch push an ally out of being Flanked.
Level 10:
Class Feat: Sustaining Steel. We don't get Second Wind, but this is just as good.
Equipment:
  • +2 Striking Bastard Sword. Could also go for Greatsword, but this is a bulk lighter and can also be used in one hand. It's just objectively better.
  • Wand of Fleet Step. It's a Rank 1 spell, so we lose those slots, going to need a wand.
  • Boreal Staff. Honestly I'd have the player craft a Personal Staff for this character with a bunch of Attack Roll spells, to go with Fused Staff.
  • Frostwalker Pattern tattoo. Ignore cold weather, once per day, ignore Difficult Terrain that is frozen.
  • Greater Demon Mask. Look, there are literally 4709 items in PF2e. I'm sure there's a closer mechanical match to the Helm of Ultris, but the Demon Mask exhibits the flavor pretty well, I think, with a a free cast of a 3rd rank Fear.
Build notes:
  • Man, I love Magus. When I first started playing 5e, I actually made a character pretty close to Calder: an Eldritch Knight with an Ice theme. I eventually rebuilt him as a bladesinger to be a bit more mechanically satisfying to play. When I saw Magus existed in PF2e, I knew I'd found the spellsword class I always dreamed of. I didn't use any options from it here, but I own Magus+, which expands the Magus class feat options with some really cool stuff including a way to RAW change the damage type of spells to the same time of the last spell you cast, making Freezing Ray possible.
  • Spell selection is hard. We don't have Expansive Spellstrike, so we don't get to Spellstrike with Save spells. There aren't very many cold-themed spells that have attack rolls, so we have to be a bit creative in reflavoring some things. Of course, if anyone would play this character concept t my table, I'd happily change energy damage type to Cold for most spells, within reason.
  • I want Jake to try playing Magus now.

2024.06.09 14:56 Apache0805 MEGALOVANIA is NOT Chara's Theme

So there has been a long going debate of whether MEGALOVANIA is Chara's theme or not. Because MEGALOVANIA is based off of the word "megalomaniac", which best describes us, the player, after we kill all the monsters in genocide route, it can easily be thought of that MEGALOVANIA is Chara's theme.
Now here's my take, MEGALOVANIA is NOT Chara's theme.
Now before anybody is back to the keyboard presenting anything against my opinion, I encourage you, the reader, to read what I have to say.
Chara already has their own theme named "The Fallen Child". This creepy track, which is very easily recognizable (but most players don't know the name of) plays after we kill Flowey and Chara is summoned, who then has a conversation with us, the player, thanking us for waking them up and then destroying the world. Here's the link for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6z2X8JMX0A
Now if you ask, "What about MEGALOVANIA?", my answer is simple. It is simply Sans's battle theme. (and Sans vibes to his own battle theme)
NOTE: There need not be a similarity or direct connection between a character's leitmotif and a character's battle theme, e.g., Toriel's leitmotif "Fallen Down" and battle theme "Heartache" do not share much similarity. (if there is any similarity or direct connection at all)
There are some other songs which can be directly connected to MEGALOVANIA: "Bring It In, Guys!": This is the first song that plays in the True Pacifist Credits. (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxmzr8pNGDU ) From 0:43 - 0:47, the music that is played sounds really similar to MEGALOVANIA's intro, and plays when Sans overtakes Papyrus's car with his tricycle.
"Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans": First of all, shout out to ASGORE DREEMURR for naming this song, which went unused. (banger of a track though, link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47GvY9rOMUs ) Now back to the topic, some instruments do sound similar to that of MEGALOVANIA, the style of music (with that I mean tempo, beat, note pattern, etc.) is really similar to that of MEGALOVANIA. Regarding this, one might say, "Oh this is the ACTUAL Sans's battle theme." But no, this isn't. This track went unused, and even if it were to be Sans's battle theme, it has heavy resemblance with MEGALOVANIA.
We all know that all Undertale songs are connected, but not in a random manner though. The connection between songs can reflect an idea in the game, like Determination, HOPES and DREAMS, or LOVE, or describe a character or a relation, like different leitmotifs describe different characters, and "She's Playing Piano" puts an emphasis on the Alphyne (Alphys x Undyne) relationship. This case is no different, this is a connection between all the songs that are related to Sans.
And as for the name "MEGALOVANIA", well, sure it does describe us, the player, but this can also be used as a sign that Sans is the final obstacle between us and the completion of genocide route, and once he's defeated, nobody can stop us, the player, from becoming a total megalomaniac.
TL;DR
There's evidence suggesting that MEGALOVANIA is indeed Sans's battle theme and not Chara's theme. Chara already has their own theme.
Also, I know there are many posts regarding this single topic, but I want to present some evidence that suggests it.
I hope I have presented enough evidence and arguments to support my opinion. Also, feel free to present your opinions, as I know that you, the reader, and I may not share the same thoughts and our opinions may vary.

2024.06.09 14:42 girly-lady I reflected and if anyone has time and energy to read all this, I'd apriciate an outside view on my thoughts to get some clarity 🩷

I reflected and if anyone has time and energy to read all this, I'd apriciate an outside view on my thoughts to get some clarity 🩷
TLDR: I wached a lot of Ritas videos, and I think I resonate with more UP than I thought, but I am not sure I am understanding the language enough and I actualy fit LU or if I am more LD. I think I worry that my Stay at home mum life clashes with the UP of it all. But I never asked myself "am I cool enough" like Rita saied for RD. Its more like "thats overkill" or "that will get more attention than I can handel energy wise". Dressing and putting on makeup is actualy realy important to me to not get depressed. If I stop making an effort I start to feel bad and cynical.
🕳🖤🙃 Pictures are from family easter when I was my cranky and pissed 4months pregnant self that diden't want to go so I dressed up all black and heavy a d ended up having a great time blowing bubbles and being unapologetic about me being me.
Long thoughts:
I think UP cuz I think through my outfits. Like I had to learn to be ok with not having an outfit to run to the store and just wear leggins and sneakers and a shirt. But if the colors clash I can't stand it. My hair needs to be neat. I make an impact weather I want to or not. I like to be edgy and unapolegetic (siren?) I need a little extra pop. Mostly with statment earings and rings. For example I dress in something I feel like is quit low impact, moderate, normal and then ppl say I am overdressed, or its very noticable or edgy etc. In my teens I evdntualy ambrassed this never quit fitting in and leaned heavaly in to alternative fashion and avter that vintage styles. But I tried to fit a stereotypical femenin 1950ies ideal that wasen't realy me, so it always felt too costumey and it was a lot of effort. (Propably also very Right essence now that I am thinking about it) But I am thinking DOWN cuz I sometimes would love to have my outfit on but still be invisible. I need simplicity and minimal patterns and colors. I am very restrictive about how many things I am allowed to have. I need cloths to be practical and easy to carefore. (This all might just be lifestyle and less Up or Down-ness 🤔) When i think about others or what they might think or how i might comunicate something about myselfe i get overwhelmed. I have sensory needs and I am ver delicat in Ritas sens. I need to be comfortable in my cloths. I don't like too buissy patterns. For example For my birthday I tried to "tell a storry" about being this mothergoddess and thought about what might symbolise this to my guests. I came up with an outfit wanting it to be a red maxi dress that is very sexy and revieling but it just diden't feel right and no allternative felt good so I changed 10 times got stressed a d overwhelmed and ran out of time and eventualy wore something completly diffrent that was aligned with how I felt inside. Or I tried to "dress to impress" with a creative twist and end up feeling self concious or over the top for the whole evening.
My ideal thing is when I forget about the cloths on my body, mabye ppl do look but it dosen't make me feel self concious. and when I catch a glimps of me in a mirror or in a shopwindowe I go "oh yea! I do look realy good today". I am not sure what typ of "attention" I like recieving. I think it might be when ppl look but are bit intimidated in a good way. Like ppl take a glimps thinking "oh that looks realy cool" but don't want me to notice they have seen. I don't like to be guaked at or staired at or like I am a piece of meat that invites the attention in a sexual way. I think it might be more important to me that I realize to be "unaproachable". I hated when everyone smiled at me when I was pregnant and ppl thought it was so "cute". I don't want to be touched or commented on. Especialy not from man. I want to see a little fear next to the apriciation in ppls eyes and then be free to show them that I am actualy a very friendly and helpfull person. OMG it feels forbidden to say that outloud 🙈 The more impactfull looks I wore through out the years where only good if I cluld aligne with a IDGAF about your opinion attitude. So I could confidently say to myself "yea, go ahead and look!" When I felt ppl noticing me. So this all might be a confidence thing for me. That I am not actualy that down, but that I am disconected from my confidece and free selfexpression? 🤐 Postpartum, Corona and Religious deconstruction surly made for a good Identitycrisis in combo in 2021. I think I am still recovering. But that IDGAF attitude is only truely autentic when the outfit is autentic too. For example I wore a very EXTRA outfit with pink cargopants and a green tight knit top with black and white striped cuff and hemm details, boots and a big green velvet hat and silver white bleached hair and OFCOURS ppl looked. And I did realy like the outfit from how it looked but I felt self concious and it took me alot of energy to wear it and keep my inner mantra of "go ahead look" up and going. And whn I got a compliment on someone saying I looked so fresh, it was nice but it diden't feel good cuz I diden't feel fresh, I felt drained and wanted to go home and magicaly make it there completly invisible 😅 I think it was cuz it was so colorfull and bright. It was too connective. Louminous/showy not enough graphity or intimidation. When I wore the same pink pants with a dark teal oversized wool sweater and sneakers I felt much better and like me. I think showing and hiding is a big thing for me. But I don't know if that means I am LU or LD.
Logic wise left seems to work well, but I am not sure how LD and LU logic differs realy. The BIGEST thing for me is weather or not I pay attention to how I feel internaly or not. But I do always incoperate little ways that will show this feeling in my cloths visualy. If I feel vulnerable and want to feel enveloped, I will not just wear something that is cozy but also symbolicaly fits. Like a dark color. And add in jewelery that communicates the theme of "night" or "celestial". It might not be understood or evdn picked up by others, but IF they would ask, I could explain why that neckless today. Why that color.
🖤🕳🙃 Or I feel like I don't want to go to a family easter celebration and I feel very low energy and like I want to disapear, and I am kind of annoyed that I can't cancel it and have to conform to the norm of showing up on easter, I'll dress all black and put on a black leather jacket and heavy boots and my chunky silver earings. And then I don't realize untill way avter that its not exactly "apropriate" or "aproachable" or "low impact" to show up on easter dressed all black like a punk on a funeral. But I was realy comfortable and connected with myself and actualy had a realy good time despite not wanting to go becaus of being connected to my feelings and not being apologetic in it and trying to be something I am not. So this could be UP-ness too, even though there are no loud colors or patterns and the outfit isn't super extra in siluet or artsy.

2024.06.09 14:41 tantalor Tough spots for inexperienced gamers

I was watching my friend play this game, and noticed a few places where she got stuck and it seemed like the game is hostile to people who don't play a lot of video games. I know its about exploration and trying different solutions, but these things are so easy to miss, and block your progress. I feel like if the player weren't given hints from somebody else, they would never figure it out.
Sorry if these are spoilers. Maybe skip this post if you haven't beat the game.
.
.
.
.
What the flames are for
Finding the flames is easy, they are marked on your map. She found all of them and then had no idea what to do with them. Yes I know the statues are RIGHT THERE and there are several on-screen prompts begging you to put the flames in the statues. If you played other games you immediately recognize this pattern, and easily connect the statue to the area where each flame is found.
But consider what a non-experienced player would see. The first time you see these statues, they are not interactive. There is no prompt, unlike the circular recesses which are obvious receptacles. The game teaches the player that the statues are decorations to be ignored, not game elements. This is reinforced by the placement of the statues in the hub area, so you pass by them repeatedly. This sends the message that they are not important.
In this game, every room has some secret or purpose, some very obscure. This one might be the most obscure. As is, it feels more like just a room you just walk through for atmosphere.
I think this could be improved by moving the statues to a separate room slightly off the main path. This sends the message that there's something here (why else would that room be there) and you have to come back later to solve it. Also you should have a prompt like "insert flame" from the very beginning, before you have any flames. This tells the player "hey go find those flames!"
What the flute is for
In the main part of the game (excluding after credits stuff) the flute does a few things,
  1. Activate the warp heads
  2. Interact with some animals
  3. Play songs: return to the fast travel room & free the bobcats
My concern is that the game doesn't adequately encourage or explain that the flute can be used to play songs, and how to do it. Compared to the other tools, the flute is much harder to use and its effects are much more obscure. It's very easy for a non-experienced game to completely miss that playing certain songs can solve puzzles, and that blocks progression towards getting the wheel.
The problem is that you almost never need use songs for anything. It's only the bobcat puzzle. Compared to other tools which are used in dozens of places to solve many puzzles, it's almost as if the flute was an afterthought to insert an optional puzzle for post-credits gameplay. But in the normal gameplay the player sees the bobcats, and sees a few places to use the wheel without knowing about it. This is not post-credits content. But it's locked behind solving the bobcat puzzle.
I think this could be improved very easily by adding a simple puzzle that locks something OBVIOUS by playing a SIMPLE song. There needs to be a puzzle that teaches this mechanic. It's okay to hold the hand of the player sometimes.
Consider what happens when you get the bubble wand. You are in a pit with no way to jump out. You have to use the bubble to get out. This is a teaching puzzle and it works.
Whereas flute is like "here you have this flute have fun it does nothing" and the player is left to find these obscure puzzles that teach you songs:
  1. The frog - Easy puzzle and easy to find, but its not clear this has anything to do with the flute, and totally optional so it's easy to skip. Also the song is kind of long for your "first song" to learn.
  2. The bobcats - The notes for the song are hard to find (some of them are completely dark) and when you play them in the same room as the notes, they do nothing. So it's unclear what this has to do with the flute.
I would create a dead-simple puzzle near where you find the flute with 3 notes given by arrows. Importantly it must give immediate feedback that you are doing the right thing by playing the notes. The reward should be in the same room. You play the three notes and get a nice prize. Now you know how to use the flute, and you know when you see arrow-notes again that they will do something when you play them, even if you aren't sure what.
Thanks for reading my rant.

The Crossed Cluster Stitch
The Crossed Cluster Stitch is the perfect crochet stitch for blankets! It is easy, similar on both sides and has beautiful drape. I love the subtle texture and look forward to trying it out in a project soon! The free crochet pattern is here: https://richtexturescrochet.com/crossed-cluster-stitch-how-to-crochet/

Supply and Demand: Why DRS matters, and did we already lock the float?
Introduction
In this post I perform an analysis of DRS numbers with the result that the true DRS numbers might be much higher than 75 million. I discuss the implications of this finding to address recent uncertainty around the recent share offering by GameStop.
TADR: Shills try to anchor DRS numbers => We might have already locked the float => RC knows we did => RC has proof of a short scheme => Dilution does not matter => Hedgies are fucked
Currently negative sentiment in all GameStop subs is based on the following 3 points:
1. “Ryan Cohen betrayed our trust; Ryan Cohen killed the momentum.” Which momentum? The stock goes up like many times before. This is not a squeeze. No one is getting margin called, I don’t see any phone numbers. RK’s stream showed that in the range of 30-60$ they are very much able to drop the price any time they want.
2. “GameStop/Ryan Cohen have no plan and have done nothing in the past 3 years.” We simply have to be patient before we can draw a conclusion on this point. But let’s revisit the 2023 annual report on page 4 “Business strategy”: Achieve Profitability in fiscal 2023 and streamlining the business. The company achieved profitability and although revenue went down in 2024 so far, percentage wise spending goes down faster. All according to plan. Since the goals for 2023 were achieved and more cash was raised, the chances of GameStop announcing new plans and pivoting towards a growth strategy are high in my opinion. However, note that in last year’s shareholder meeting nothing with regard to the strategy was mentioned.
3. “The share offering is diluting and undoing DRS progress and making it impossible for us to ever achieve the goal of locking the float. DRS is dead”. If you believe that shorts have not closed, dilution is not a big factor compared to the dilution from naked short selling.
So, what about DRS?
Why do all the negative posters point out we “only” DRSed 75 million shares and that it will be “impossible” to DRS the float? Let us reiterate what we know about DRS:
1. The last official and reliable DRS numbers are from April 2022 (recall the DRS Rugpulls in the following 2 quarters and the following stagnation ever since).
2. GameStop changed the official communication multiple times after October 2022, obfuscating the true DRS number, likely because of external pressure. They went from reporting the accurate CS number to an approximate based on DTCC reported numbers (304 million outstanding shares – 206 million DTCC reported shares = 75 million).
3. However in March 2023 Gamestop gave us one new datapoint: the number of record holders which was 197058.
4. GameStop and Computershare know the true DRS numbers.
5. To my knowledge there is no proof that locking the float will cause MOASS. It has always been the goal but we simply don't know what happens.
6. We need to BOOK shares at Computershare, otherwise there are still ways to mess with our shares.
7. We know that DRS takes away liquidity (falling volume over the years) and hurts the shorts. Every time shill attacks occur, they target DRS. For example, they tried to spread FUD during the move to book our shares which was obviously good for retail investors once we learned about it.
I believe that the current shill strategy is to demoralize by anchoring 75 million as the default DRS number and that it is not moving up at all. Conveniently the latest share offering is also 75 million shares. Surely DRS must be dead if we make no progress right?
But what if the true DRS numbers are much higher? The number being stuck just does not make sense, many fellow apes, including me, are still buying and DRSing, which implies that there must be an equally large amount of people selling DRSed shares. And you are telling me that for more than 2 year there has been almost perfect balance between buy and sell side on CS? Talk about trading sideways…
Especially puzzling is that the DRS numbers on computershared, which have been very accurate initially, have still gone up before a short time later the reddit API was shut down and the DRS bot stopped working. Very convenient that we lost the ability to estimate DRS ownership around the same time the numbers began to be obfuscated.
Method
Just focusing on the DRS numbers for prediction is not very precise. Additionally, we cannot really trust the numbers reported after April 2022 so we don't have many datapoints. Instead, I propose to look at the amount of money apes spend on DRSing shares and extrapolate that. It is a number with much more meaning to the individual investor, subject to less noise and tied to the true stock price we can observe. The method works as follows:
1. Compute how much the average CS account owner spent per quarter on GameStop Shares based on the past reliable DRS numbers. (based on facts)
2. Extrapolate the average spend for quarters in which DRS numbers stagnated. (approximation)
3. Use the official number of record holders and the true stock price to predict growth in DRS numbers. (based on facts)
In doing so we are making the least amount of assumptions by using official numbers whenever we can: the official number of record holders, the stock price and the DRS numbers from computershared when they matched the official numbers.
Figure 1 - DRS extrapolation. Red: share price, Green: DRS number, Orange: Number of CS accounts, Purple: Average quarterly spend on DRS
In Figure 1 I plotted in red the share price from before the sneeze in 2021 until Friday 7.6.2024 (6/7/2024 for the US apes). The green and orange lines show the DRS estimate and number of CS accounts from computershared(dot)net. In purple I plotted the amount of $ spent per CS account that had to occur to achieve the increase of the green DRS numbers in the preceding quarter based on the average price during that period.
Analysys
We can see that in the initial DRS period apes spent on average $20k on DRSing shares. This number is likely inflated because people did not just DRS new shares but also shares accumulated since the sneeze in 2021. But for the following quarter we can see that money spent to DRS new shares was around $5000 in March 2022 decreasing to $1800 in March 2023. This comes down to the OG apes spending about 600$ per month to DRS the float. Pretty reasonable number imo. The decrease of spending over time is just natural as engagement with the stock decreased during a long period of the price slowly going down. Actually, the decay of spending matches exactly the decrease in activity of the Superstonk sub:
Figure 2
BUT the price decreasing at the same time with a similar decay pattern has interesting effects. Even when the average spend on DRSing goes down, the net number of shares that were locked away might have increased linearly.
In Figure 1 in light purple I show my extrapolation of the average quarterly spending. I assumed a decrease in the willingness to spend of 10% every quarter, going down to an average quarterly spending of $1000 as of today. At the same time, I assumed no new apes DRSing and modelled apes going inactive by decreasing the net amount of CS accounts by 5% per quarter. Hence the dashed orange line is trending lower since the last official number we got. The numbers give us predictions that follow the trendline from the purple slowly decreasing true average quarterly spending.
Now on to the final observation. Even with conservative estimates of no new apes coming in, existing apes going inactive and the interest in DRS decreasing during the period from March 2023 to now, we have most likely DRSed almost the entire float of 153 million Shares (shown by the light green dashed line) or we are at least significantly above 100 million. Interestingly we were likely close to locking the entire float this May, right when volume increased, the price skyrocketed, DFV returned, and GameStop issued more shares.
Limitations
We cannot really model the selling pressure from apes selling DRS shares, but it is quite likely that the buying pressure was higher than my conservative prediction and that new apes started DRSing.
This method assumes that the stagnation in reported DRS numbers starting 2023 is not accurate.
This method extrapolates the average quarterly spend and the number of CS accounts.
The method is based on the DRS estimates from computershared during the time they matched the officially reported DRS numbers.
There are simplifications like averaging price over a quarter and not taking into account volume.
Discussion
In a free and transparent market, the price of a stock is determined by supply and demand. DRS is reducing the Supply of shares and creates a baseline of demand. Assuming we reduced the supply to a small fraction of the outstanding shares, the price should rise. But we know that the price went down during the entire time we DRSed shares. This implies that there is either no demand at all or heavy dilution from short selling counteracting the DRS movement.
And RC proved that there is in fact high demand, leaving only short selling on the table. In May 2024 the company heavily increased the number of outstanding shares with the 45 million share offering (potentially up to120 million). According to the supply and demand model, the price should decrease. But oh wait, the price has tripled during that time on no news or fundamental changes (GameStop even says this in one of their latest filings). RK shows on stream he is just a goofball, has not yet exercised his calls and that the price can be manipulated at a whim. This means there is demand not tied to RK or business fundamentals that far surpasses the 45 (or 120) million new shares offered and that the price is most likely manipulated by short selling.
What is RC’s perspective?
He would know the true DRS numbers and if we really locked the float in the last 3 years, he would have proof of a short selling scheme against the company following the above simple logical argument. With this proof this would allow him to raise billions in cash for the company without compromising MOASS because further dilution is dwarfed by the amount of naked shares which must exist to explain the recent insane volume on no shares available. Furthermore, the share offering raises the minimum price per share to $10-$12, completely killing the short thesis. Overall the DRS numbers are important for exposing and combating the rampant short selling by reducing supply of shares.
Finally, to show how ridiculous the stagnant 75 million DRS number is:
Figure 3
The number of active CS accounts would need to decrease 25% every quarter and the average monthly spending on DRS to go down 50% every quarter to 50$ per quarter for the remaining accounts to achieve such a stagnation.

2024.06.09 13:32 relationshipguy254 The Loyalty Trap: Why You Feel Disloyal for Being Happy After Toxic Abuse

Ever felt bad for feeling happy and liberated after leaving a toxic situation? Like you're being disloyal or betraying someone by finally experiencing a better life without them?
That unreasonable guilt sneaks in when things are looking much better for you without them. You may be taking care of yourself, pursuing something you love, and feeling really hopeful about the future, but there’s still that niggling feeling that you don’t need to be doing that or to be happy. It's this twisted “loyalty trap” where your mind gets all tangled up trying to stay "loyal" to the person who mistreated you.
See, when you're stuck in an unhealthy, abusive cycle for a long time, your identity becomes entangle in it. The psychological trauma bonds you to your abuser in weird ways. So, when you break free and start healing or experiencing life without them, you weirdly feel like you're doing something wrong.
It's almost like there's a voice in your head which keeps saying, "But we stuck by them through the hard times, how can we just walk away now?" Or "If I'm thriving without them, does that make me a bad person?" or “How can I be happy when they’re suffering?”
You logically know the relationship was not the best place for you and it was pretty messed up. You know you didn't deserve the crap you went through. But still, some part of you is kind of feeling disloyal for wanting to be happy and free or even just building a good life for yourself. This also applies when you leave a toxic workplace. You may feel like they really paid your salary for years and you’re simply abandoning them. Or when you say no to your mom, who educated you and sacrificed her life for you to get to 'where you were'.
Let me tell you something - that's the tricks your mind is playing, and you don’t need to listen to it! You have every right to be happy, healthy and free from abuse. Feeling good about escaping an unhealthy isn't disloyal at all.
In fact, it's one of the loyal things you can do for yourself. You’ve neglected yourself, knowingly or unknowingly, for a very long time. When you’re about to do something for you, your mind brings forth those voices of your tormentors, trying to guilt-trip you into not taking care of yourself.
You may hear that voice saying, “You’re being selfish for going on that trip with your friends” or “Your ex-partner is suffering, and here you are happy.” It’s a voice pulling you towards languishing in suffering, just like everyone else.
Do not listen to it but keep moving and healing until those voices seem like dry echoes from a distant past.
Broken Vow Implant
See, when we're stuck in a toxic situation, our minds can develop what I call a "broken vow implant." It's like a hidden promise we make to ourselves to stay loyal to the abuser or the abusive environment, even though it hurts us. This promise is so strong that it feels like we're spiritually bound to them, no matter how badly they treat us.
Even if we logically understand how hurtful the situation is, there's a deep inner belief that keeps running in our heads: "But I promised I'd never leave them, no matter what." This belief gets stronger and stronger every time we give in to their abusive ways, every time we put their needs before our own sanity and peace of mind.
After finally finding the courage to leave, we carry with us that deeply ingrained "vow” and this is what causes feelings of shame and disloyalty whenever we start to live a better kind of life. It's as if our soul still believes we're betraying them by allowing ourselves to be happy away from that toxic environment.
That's why many people, after leaving those relationships, may not create a better life for themselves. Instead, they end up sabotaging or creating an environment where they continue to hurt themselves. Some sneaky ways this can happen include being overly frugal, not because they lack money, but because they feel guilty spending on themselves, thinking it's disloyal to their difficult upbringing.
Conscious Reprogramming to Reclaim Your Loyalty
The only way to break free from those chains is to become very aware of how our wounded ego affects us. Then, we need to consciously challenge those core beliefs by doing things that show we value and care for ourselves, even if it means going against our old loyalties. It means catching yourself anytime the backward guilt tries sneaking in, and urgently reminding yourself: "My decision to finally leave wasn't a personal betrayal, but the bravest stance of loyalty to my humanity I could take." It means allowing yourself to feel shame or any uncomfortable emotion which arises when you take care of yourself, but not letting it overwhelm you for more than a moment.
The more you take care of yourself, the more you're being loyal to the one person who deserves it the most, which is you. And gradually, by not giving any more attention to that old "vow," it will fade away, no longer able to weigh you down with its toxic influence. So feel the joy, feel the light, feel the deep connection of becoming more intimately bonded with your truth, free of imprisonment. That's the reconnection worth remaining infinitely faithful to.

This post offers a glimpse into my zero-point energy journey and discoveries made along the way, providing an oversimplified version of the complexities involved. While it presents fragments of scientific theories, it's essential to recognize that the exploration of ZPE delves into intricate realms beyond this brief exposition. The discoveries recounted here are simplified snapshots of a broader landscape, with ongoing debates challenging conventional scientific paradigms. It's important to note that the explanations of current scientific theories are merely facets of a larger understanding. No harm or offense is intended by these simplified explanations; rather, they serve as stepping stones for further exploration and discussion, urging readers to approach the subject with an open mind and a willingness to delve deeper into its complexities.
Here we go..
Modern science struggles to pinpoint the location of consciousness within our brains. Ancient teachings on non-local consciousness and purported psychic abilities, including remote viewing and channeling (among many others), hint at a radical departure: our consciousness may not originate from our brains at all. Instead, it suggests that our brains are mere vessels shaped by consciousness. Acting as interpreters of frequencies, our senses offer glimpses of a reality crafted by consciousness through our brains. This perspective reconceives consciousness as the fundamental essence of existence, expressed through frequencies and vibrations. Nikola Tesla's iconic words, 'If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration,' resonate profoundly with this notion. Tesla's belief in the existence of ether, the elemental substance from which all matter emerges, aligns with the idea that consciousness and ether could be intertwined. Within this framework, our brains are not generators of consciousness; rather, consciousness shapes the brain and everything perceived through it. This realization heralds a seismic shift in our understanding of reality.
Modern science explains that particles arise from fluctuations, transitioning between probability waves and tangible forms - particles are essentially manifestations of waves. This understanding, rooted in wave-particle duality, asserts that everything, including particles, fundamentally exists as waves. This interpretation resonates with my comprehension of how the universe operates.
The necessity of quoting more Tesla isn't essential here, as the concept of consciousness or ether inherently encompasses energy, frequency, and vibration. Reflecting on our understanding of electricity as an energy form, it's plausible that our comprehension of the electromagnetic field is incomplete. The propagation of electricity outside wires, within the electromagnetic field, hints at a deeper connection to consciousness or ether. Given that consciousness embodies frequencies and vibrations, it's logical to consider the ether's vibrational nature as the medium for electromagnetic wave propagation. This suggests that the traditional electromagnetic field may not be requisite for electricity transmission, as it likely traverses through the ether, as Tesla proposed.
After delving into multiple physics theories in pursuit of uncovering a unifying Theory of Everything, I stumbled upon vortex math. Subsequently, immersing myself extensively in its principles, I found Marko Rodin's insights particularly compelling. His elucidation of how the universe seemingly adheres to vortex patterns in energy flow resonated deeply with my quest for understanding the fundamental fabric of reality. Nature never operates in straight lines, and energy exhibits its own curvature, as indicated by vortex math. While vortex math elegantly elucidates the physical reality circuit (1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5) and its corresponding ether side (3, 6, 9), attempting to construct a device using base-10 math alongside vortex math presents a challenge. Something seems amiss and requires further investigation. This is where music enters the picture. Music, with its frequencies and harmonies, offers valuable insights.
It appears that the universe is divided into 12 equal intervals, akin to the structure of music. The 12 notes of the chromatic scale form an octave. Without delving into the intricacies of octaves and harmonies here, but understanding this concept reveals the significance of employing base-12 math in subjects like this. Both Tesla and Rodin were onto something with their emphasis on 3, 6, and 9 within the context of base-10 math. However, constructing a device based solely on this knowledge could lead to an imbalance between the ether and physical realms, resulting in energy leakage. Utilizing base-12 math, on the other hand, would align the formula perfectly and achieve harmonious equilibrium between the ether and physical aspects. The key to unlocking this balance lies in incorporating the numbers 3, 6, 9, and 12.
Contemplating these insights led me to consider the manifestation of energy/matter. Is it conceivable to engineer a device that manipulates ether in a manner that generates elevated waves in the ether, commonly known as standing waves?
A brief study of wave dynamics and interference revealed that longitudinal waves interacting or interfering with each other produce standing waves. Understanding that wires or conductive materials serve as "waveguides" for waves propagating in ether (or consciousness), it becomes feasible to construct a device capable of modulating the ether to generate desired standing waves upon it.
So, I resolved to challenge my own and others' beliefs regarding this concept and began constructing the device myself. The idea was to utilize waveguides or commonly known conductive materials arranged in a manner that encourages wave interference within the ether. Adjacent to these waveguides, there would be conductive material positioned to effectively "collect" these standing waves.
This led me to create a device comprising copper plates shaped correctly for waveguides, with induction plates situated nearby. To my lack of surprise, transmitting the appropriate longitudinal wave to this device resulted in a significant surplus of electricity being generated on the induction plates. Initial experiments yielded highly promising results. Adding a load to the plates and measuring the produced power indicated that with only 5W of input power, I was able to generate multiple kW impulses on the induction plates. Remarkably compact, the device is not much larger than a basketball and weighs only about 1.5kg, making it incredibly portable and versatile. Its size belies its capabilities, as it can easily serve as a power source for a house, electric car, or any other electric application. Furthermore, its construction is remarkably simple, requiring no complex electronic components or expensive materials, and it can be assembled at home using basic tools.
One significant observation is that the surplus electricity manifests as impulses rather than continuous power. Thus far, I've had to externally introduce the input pulse to the device from an external power source, resulting in infrequent impulses in the previous development version. However, I've devised a method to configure the device so that it generates the input pulse autonomously, enabling it to operate continuously as a self-sustaining generator. Though the term "generator" may not be entirely accurate, as it simply manifests energy from the ether. Functioning akin to all motors and generators, it operates as a self-feeding and self-running system.
Like an internal combustion engine, which relies on fuel, a spark plug, and a piston/camshaft to convert energy, this device operates with the ether as its fuel source, the input pulse acting as the spark plug, and the waveguides and inducing plates functioning as the piston and camshaft. This device complies with physical laws, as it harnesses energy from the ether, an external and seemingly unlimited energy source. Thus, it does not violate thermodynamic laws, as it operates as an open system rather than a closed one. Its only requirement for operation is an initial kickstart, akin to most motors. Once kickstarted, it runs autonomously, devoid of any moving parts, and can be constructed by most individuals themselves.
This device represents my interpretation of true zero-point energy—a concept that holds immense promise as a virtually unlimited and sustainable source of free energy. Zero-point energy, also known as vacuum energy or ground state energy, is the energy that remains in a system even at its lowest possible energy state. Harnessing this energy could revolutionize the way we power our world, offering a clean, abundant, and renewable source of energy for all.
You might wonder why I'm sharing this without providing video proof of my device. The reason is simple: I intend for this device to be open source, marking the first step toward making this technology accessible to everyone. I have no intention of patenting it under any circumstances. All the necessary information to build this device will be freely available for anyone to use. This post marks the inaugural stride towards a society where energy is not merely a commodity but a birthright, as essential as the air we breathe and the water we drink.
Through this research journey, I've been awakened to the profound essence of our reality and the boundless possibilities it entails. The revelation that energy can be effortlessly harnessed from the ether unveils a paradigm-shifting vista of potentialities. If such a feat is within our grasp, then the manipulation of gravity and the manifestation of matter are no longer relegated to the realm of science fiction but become tantalizingly attainable aspirations. Given their strong connection to the ether, both gravity and matter offer avenues for exploration, suggesting that neutralizing gravitational forces becomes as achievable as manifesting energy.
Stay tuned, for this is just the beginning of a voyage into a future where the boundaries of possibility are limited only by our imagination. Future posts will reveal more detailed information about the device and the power output, along with videos of the device in operation.

2024.06.09 13:10 Brownzorak 582 days gratefully without a bet

Today: · I am grateful I didn’t place a bet in the last 24 hours.
· I am grateful that I get to experience live Cricket for the first time this morning, and it happens to be the biggest international Cricket match in the world. I am grateful my friend got me the ticket for free.
· I am grateful to experience through this morning’s meditation how distracted my mind is.
· I am grateful to see how self-judgmental thoughts start without me even realizing it and understanding how ingrained those habitual thought patterns still are.
· I am grateful for the opportunities today to see those thoughts as they are and to let them go.
· I am grateful for everything the Universe provides me that I don’t have control over and enables me to live today, from the trillions of cells in my body and everything they do, to the Earth and air and water and food it provides each day to help keep me healthy and strong.
· I am grateful to see that it’s ultimately up to me whether to fight and judge life and everything it provides unconditionally or to just dance with it.
· I am grateful for the chance today to do my best and experience life as it is without judgment, whatever happens, and remember that its ultimately not about me.

2024.06.09 12:33 shaky-city Casual sex and the hookup culture have negative impacts on society. Here’s why.

I understand if the title sounds like clickbait, but I assure you it's genuine, so keep reading. Like many others, I don't pay for Tinder, so I'm restricted to the limited number of free likes it offers per day, usually around 30. However, I've noticed a consistent pattern in Tinder's swiping algorithm, which doesn't seem to apply to other dating apps. Here's how it works: the first profile shown is typically someone who either hasn't seen your profile yet or has previously swiped left on it. To cover both possibilities, I swipe right on them regardless, especially since this person tends to be very attractive. Next, the second profile shown is usually someone who has already swiped right on you, assuming you've optimized your profile to maximize attractiveness. If you also like their profile and swipe right, it's a match. Now, here's the trick: After swiping on the second profile, simply close the app and reopen it. Tinder will refresh the profiles it presents, and the second profile shown will be another person who has also swiped right on you. By repeating this process, you can potentially increase your matches significantly without spending a cent. Assuming your profile is appealing, you can substantially boost your matches compared to regular swiping on Tinder without paying for premium features. I tried this myself today and gained 11 new matches, whereas with normal swiping, I'd probably have only gotten 2 or 3.

2024.06.09 12:27 Alustar Alu's Guide to Evasion tanking in Enshrouded:

The following is my current build geared towards tanking, with a focus on evasion and dagger use. Understand this is not meant to be the most optimal tanking build, and is instead a fun and challenging means I have found of achieving the same objectives as a tank would require, while also having the combat flow and attack patterns of a rogue.
For starters, what is an evasion tank? As the title would describe, it's simply a style of tanking that emphasizes dodging over blocking to mitigate damage, while still maintaining the attention of the enemies so your group can take them down. The benefit of dodging is it typically opens up your enemies to exploitable backstab opportunities that you can take advantage of.
To begin with, let's discuss the armor, stats, and skills that establish the foundation of this build.
https://enshrouded-skill-tree.vercel.app/?shortCode=66656c2f558f458f7f7745ad
Now I will go through what the key skills are and how they work for this playstyle. I will first address what will likely be the most contentious ability, Merciless Attack, and damage return aside, the point for this ability for me is simply because it's the only real way to get any sort of I-frame advantage in combat. When you break an enemy's guard and engage a Merciless Attack, most of the enemies won't engage you while this animation plays through. Your group is also now free to hit the group of mobs around you.
Parry power and Opportunity are both good to have, as they augment skills you will already be using, but they give access to Backstab Damage which, combined with Backstab Mastery are where this build is going to start coming together. Grab the early Dex passives, then follow the Ranger tree to the end for Ranger. This path has two purposes, the first of which is to give us some dexterity to support the dagger use, but then also endurance and stamina regen as well as a 5% bonus to crit chance/damage. Finally, this pathway helps fill in an element of range for those pesky fliers and archers. (Side note, as a tank, I typically keep a bow on me with flare arrows and a stock of 200 iron arrows just in case. The Flare Arrows can help not only light a way forward but also help a lost ally find their way to you)
Updraft is more utility-based and there for use out in the open world, however, Counterstrike is something I feel every good tank should have. This leads into Jump Attack II which I have seen come in very handy with a good 2-hander. Similarly to Evasion Attack, it is a block breaker so it will help set you up for those useful Merciless Attacks. Next, we take Shickwave and Bash. These abilities scale off of our strength so in addition to boosting our Jump Attack damage, we now have added stun bar increase and damage from parry scaled from strength.
Lastly Nemesis for threat generation, Tower and Warden for damage mitigation, and Battle Heal for passive combat healing. For the weapon path, I go for slashing and piercing as I focus on daggers as my main weapon and the 2-hand axe as my sub/AoE weapon. This will also give you access to Veteran and the Warrior's Path, both melee damage and crit change by 10%.
Now let's move on to gear and weapon preference. Here I lean towards the daggers for single target and 2-handed axes for AoE damage. Utilizing dodge mechanics can set up backstabbing attacks when in lock-on. For gear I currently use the Radiant Paladin helmet for the crit chance bonus. This helps keep Battle Heal proccing. The Soldier Breastplate for stamina and health, the Assassin gloves for added backstab and dagger damage, the Warden Trousers for damage mitigation and health, and finally the Radiant Paladin Boots for health regen.
Finally, Dodge vs Blink: Here is where I could potentially see this build diverging as there are arguments to be made for both regular Dodge and Blink. The first for me, being Dodge is superior for setting up reliable backstabs, as when locked on and engaged in a side roll, your character will roll around to orient you facing their back. However, the flip side is that Emergency Blink can get you out of bad situations where you ate a block you shouldn't have and now have an unlucky incoming tank buster from a boss and you need to dodge. Emergency Blink will break a stunned state and allow you to dodge. In the current state of the Hollows since I don't use Nemesis there, I would suggest working in Emergency Blink.
Footnotes: I plan to revisit the Life leech Rings since the attack speed of the daggers might very well make them viable for survivability. Also please be aware this is not a solo build While I did test some of the damage and crit-based healing in a solo setting, most of the real stress testing came with running this with a group of at least three other players. If anyone would like a video tutorial, showcasing how this build works within a group setting I would be happy to put something together.
