Last time we went to jiffy lube on 12th and Alameda, and coming back from Tulsa a bolt shot out and my brakes stated grinding anytime I applied the slightest bit of brake pressure. I drive a Subaru Outback 2012 2.3 with about 150000 miles on it.
Back in October my head gasket blew and the eventually had it replaced for 3k
Last week I went to jiffy lube to get my oil replaced. After they finished I opened the hood and found that my coolant was up to the brim. Made a mental note that I would need to figure out a way to drain it.
Could days later I’m driving and all the lights came on my car is overheating, open the hood and there’s coolant everywhere.
I ended up take it to a shop and my machine say that my head gasket is most likely cracked/broke.
He said he doesn’t fix these type of problems but referred to another shop that does. Called him up and he said he can get to it later this week and take a look at it but that he charges 4k to replace it.
My question is does anyone know why head gasket would break so soon after replacing it?
Also is it worth repairing it?
Any advice on what I should do would be really appreciated.

Howdy all. I got the oil in my 2015 Forester changed yesterday at a Jiffy Lube (I usually change it myself, but don’t have my oil pan currently) anyways, after my oil change my car was having trouble accelerating when I put my foot on the gas, lurching, you can hear the belt squealing, and my entire car is shaking when I shift gears. This morning after about a mile of driving my check engine, hill hold, ABS, oil temp, and break lights all came on and my car won’t go over 20mph. Any clue on what’s going on? I usually use 0W-20 on my car, but I know they used a synthetic blend yesterday.
Edit: I should add that they did a full scan before any service was done and it came back all clear. I’ve never had any problems with my car until yesterday’s oil change.
Edit 2: thank you all so much. They did in fact drain my CVT and double up my oil. I checked my oil and it’s WAYYY above where it should be.
Edit 3: subie has been towed and I’ll hear back in a day or so.

Hello all. well, my first oil change is due in about a month. Should I take my car to my local KIA dealership or Jiffy lube? I believe that the dealership will charge me around 160 for the oil change vs around 120 at jiffy lube. any thoughts?

A friend and I are going to jiffy lube live to see Niall Horan in a few weeks. We have lawn tix and want to bring our normal lawn chairs. They are a couple inches more than the “9 inches of the ground limit” Does anyone know if they actually check the height? Thinking about bringing a blanket just in case or buying new ones.
Also any parking tips would be appreciated!! We’re willing to show up super early if it helps the parking situation.

I was surprised to get one, as I’m very conscientious when school buses are stopped. I’ve aggravated my sixteen-year-old daughter before, by stopping when the yellow lights came on (prior to the stop paddle and flashing red lights) because I do NOT want one of these tickets. They’re $250 a pop.
Anyway, I received a ticket for passing a bus (traveling in the opposite direction) that was stopped Eastbound on Central Ave in Colonie. It was in the vicinity (1800 block) of the plaza that has Harbor Freight and Moe’s, just before Kohl’s. I was traveling Westbound. Looking at the pic, it was on the same side as Kohl’s, and it was stamped at 909 am. I checked my records, and I would’ve just left Jiffy Lube after getting a NYS inspection. I have no recollection of seeing a bus with the lights on that morning, other than the pic with the automated ticket. I DO know, that after viewing the video online, it shows the bus in a commercial area (as opposed to a residential) on Central Ave. There are multiple vehicles driving by, not just my own. It is almost ten minutes after 9 am, and I’m not aware of any schools that would still be doing pickups that late, and certainly not in front of a strip mall on a 4 lane road. All three of my kids have gone through (or are going through) elementary school, middle & high school in the South Colonie school district. I’ve got a clean record and hold a Class A CDL. I’d never knowingly pass a stopped bus with its red lights on.
The pic and video certainly seem cut/dry. But again, with multiple other vehicles also apparently not noticing the lights on, added to the fact that the bus does not appear to be in a residential section, nor picking up/discharging students, it almost comes across as entrapment.
Again, curious if anyone has contested one of these tickets for similar reasons.

My check engine light came on a couple of days ago out of the blue. I had a Jiffy Lube inspection recently.
Just popped the hood and the two clips to tighten the air filter box were missing and it was open about 1/2 inch.
Can that cause the check engine light to come on?
