okay so it was a y8 game where you needed just to finish it like i think u started off as a human/guy and music started playing then u turn into an land animal and the music changes, you then turn into an air animal music also changed, with water too and so on at the end i think u went to a diff universe/space or something i cant remember but the music was fire and you just free roamed until the music stopped basically following the creators flow and rhythm whlist turning into different animals, thanks!

I acquired a free handpan that I plan to give to my son. He is not a handpan enthusiast, but he is a musical prodigy on the guitar and drums. Occasionally we have had the opportunity to play pans together, and it has been a blast. So that's my intention with this instrument.
It is a cheap 9 tone D Kurd nitrided steel Chinese pan, however it has a pleasant resonance and all tone fields are surprisingly active. The problem is that 2 of the tone fields are unacceptably sharp in pitch. The ding is mildly sharp, but acceptable. With a lot of players, this would be an acceptable instrument, but my son's ear for music is so keen that trying to play it is driving him crazy. The other 7 notes are within his tolerance for imperfection.
With nothing to lose and everything to gain, I am considering attempting to flatten the pitch of these 2 notes. It seems to me that covering a tone field with a soft rag, placing a rounded carbide bar (I have these as I work at a carbide company) in the center of the tone field and tapping it lightly with a hammer might achieve my desired effect. It's either this or throwing this pan into the dumpster.
Can anyone offer any validation of my idea? Or another procedure that I could do that could possibly deform those 2 fields into a flatter pitch?
PLEASE don't tell me to buy him a quality instrument from a local maker. I already have 2 quality instruments by independent craftsmen that I paid a lot for. I treasure them. They are different scales, so when we try to jam together it's hard to make it work. Neither of us can afford to make an investment in a a true quality instrument for him. This is just for kicks.

A large inferno raged, washing the town square in waves of sweltering heat and spitting sparks. The babbling surge of the River of Dreams was overwhelmed by the roaring of flames; heavy smoke stacks obscuring the light of the thin, silvery moon that stood vigil above the valleyed town. The windowed houses that ensconced the town square, built of oak and plaster, reflected back the orange illumination in haunting visage. Even the incessant warblings of hundreds of cicadas and katydids were drowned out by the sharp snap of stacked burning logs. There was only one sound that trumped all others.
Music.
Thin, bright trilling flutes. Heavy, rumbling drums. A singular lute whose owner took liberties in the finer points of playing. And, more than that, dozens of hesitant yet warm voices sang. They sang of life and love and hope. They sang of Tohlen and Sayn. They sang for the Festival of Plenty. Large stalls packed the corners of the space and, betwixt these stalls, a man from a group of pack-laden individuals cried out, "Trader, merchant, mender! Vendor, gossip, letter handler!" The merchants, misty-eyed and smiling wide, trudged down the road with graying travel packs nestled between peaked shoulders. "I've got gut and needle and knives and wines! Water for travel and open to haggle!" Each flat-footed step upon the ground lent itself to a grand chorus; a jumbled mess of metals, glassware, and other oddities heralding their arrival. I hold to the philosophy of a 'give and take' in roleplay. No one person should be in control of the conflict or cliffhangers or what have you, though I as DM will have a heavier hand on presenting information. Poison a drink, introduce new character traits, or even piss off a new antagonist. Anything works as long as it's communicated and brings something of value to the roleplay. 🠪 Comfortable with expanding the world and creating the plot together. Like I previously mentioned, the pieces of The Marked Lands are together, though the specifics are things that must be worked out. I don’t care much for plotting out every exhausting detail prior to writing. Context: I started my YouTube channel in September 2023, vlogging my poker sessions. Always loved poker, enjoy growing the game, and was always interested in videography/filmmaking/editing etc., so I just thought that this would make a great passion project. I knew about youtube monetization but never really aspired to become a big youtuber or anything. I am still a small channel - basically a nobody atm. A lot of musicologists in Germany worked with the Nazis' and tied this idea into their claimed proof of the Aryan race. Which they used to justify the holocaust. They used music as a means of torture in many ways to control everyone they occupied. The Allies also weaponized music with intelligence agencies in different ways as a form of anti propaganda that was very effective against the Third Reich.

The first time we stopped talking was her decision. I (43M) grew up living a very cushy life in the suburbs of Chicago. I had certain expectations I was expected to fulfill, and they didn't include me moving to New Jersey when I was 19. During a family trip to Alpine, I found myself in the less affluent areas thanks to access to a car and an intense desire to dive into the music scene there. My world kind of shifted on its axis that summer, and I knew I couldn't leave. They didn't mind me initially sticking around - I already had a gap year planned, so this didn't derail my plans too much. It was later when I told them I had decided to go to university in Jersey instead of Chicago that our relationship really broke down.
I was very abruptly on my own in the financial department for the first time, but it was probably the best thing for me. I developed an actual work ethic and began living a life that wasn't being funded and planned out by someone else. It was freeing. Our later reconciliation was mostly due to my son, Brooklyn (15M) being born.
There's a lot about my early years in Jersey that my mom doesn't approve of. Some of it is justified since I was 19 and I made some misguided decisions. Some of it... not so much. For necessary context: The first person I ever befriended here is someone we'll call Matt (40M). We met at a concert during one of my first nights out. He was 16, technically too young to even be in the venue. We dated for two years, and I got exceptionally close with his entire family. I crashed in their basement when my parents cut me off. It was a very pivotal romantic relationship in my life, but also a familial one. All of them - Matt himself, his parents, and his brother - were lifelines for me, and Brooklyn adores them. Matt and his brother are still some of my best friends today, and his parents are second parents to me.
This all brings us to the current conflict: Brooklyn's birthday was last week. My mom flew in for it. There's always tension whenever my parents are around Matt or his family, but it was ramped up to an 11 this time. She continually made passive-aggressive comments all afternoon, but one in particular pushed me over the edge. She remarked something about Brooklyn almost being the same age as Matt was when we met, and how she hopes I would never be a bad enough parent to let him be involved with someone older.
I took her outside and told her she was embarrassing herself. She replied that she was just trying to protect Brooklyn and not let him lead the same "lifestyle" I did. That could mean a lot of things and they're all pretty offensive, but the use of that word made it feel like she was attacking me for being bisexual since it has connotations against the LGBT community. I immediately went on the defense and told her that we had gone years without talking before, and I could easily do it again.
I'm second guessing myself now. Looking back, I feel like I reacted too harshly. I'm certainly not letting my kid date anyone 18+, so she has a point. I don't know.

Let me share my 3000h of modded wisdom with you, my fellow vanilla comrades. My attempt here is to provide you with as many as possible improvements to the base game while keeping the style, balance, and content as vanilla as possible. As they say, when it works the best is when you don't realize it is there. I guarantee you that after playing for a while with these, you will no longer be able to tell what's from the base game and what's not.
You don't know how to mod? Maybe this very basic guide will help. Please, note that many mods come with options to tune up your experience. It is recommended you give them a look.
You can find the steam collection here. Be aware that some of these mods require the DLCs. You don't have the DLCs? Just don't use the mod.
Dependencies:

Harmony + Huglibs. Required by so many mods, you may as well be done with it and always have them.
Vanilla Expanded Framework. While not as radically necessary as the previous ones, it's still a dependency fairly common. And this one actually does cool things on its own, like loading new modded factions without having to start a new game.
XML Extensions. You won't be able to access the options of some mods without this.

Performance

Dub performance analyzer. Enable the optimizations and override options, you can ignore everything else. If you want to disable alerts, use rocketman.
Rocketman. By default, it should be good enough. This mod also allows to disable alerts you may don't care about, like, dunno, tattered apparel or unhappy nudity. It is recommended to run adaptive move occasionally (in stat cache settings).
Performance Optimizer. More hacker magic. If you don't like the UI changes, you can disable them in the options. This mod does more performance stuff aside from that, so use it anyway!
Performance Fish. You will have to install this mod manually, since it's not available in the workshop. You will also need to install its dependencies, Fishery and Prepatcher. Please, be aware that at the present there's an issue in which linking storages crashes the game. However, this can be prevented by disabling "TryFindBestBetterStoreCellFor" in the options.

Minor changes

Optimization Meats. Unless you really want dozens of different meat types for some weird role-play reason, this mod will reduce the bloat on your kitchens.

More Harvest Designators! e.g. harvest only fully growth plants.
ModDiff. Great improvement of the mod mismatch screen.
Pharmacist Temporary Update. Instead of always using the best medicine, now your pawns can use the appropriate medicine for the situation. No longer will they spent glitterworld meds on scratches!
Smart Turret Covering. Fixes an issue with turret covers.
PawnTargetFix. So that the autotarget prioritizes the closest enemy.
Poisoned Food Stack Fix (Fix). Fixes an issue with meal stacks.
Priority Treatment Ressurected. Doctors will finally prioritize keeping your pawns alive over taking a nap. Disable the option that prevents injured pawns from performing surgery, it has issues.
QualityBuilder. You can set up a target level for furniture, and your pawns will reconstruct it until it's achieved. If I remember correctly, it's enabled by default for all new furniture? You can turn that off in options.

Research Tree. A better research tree.
RimHUD. The best mod of the whole list, it will save you A TON of clicks.
RimSaves. Overhaul of the save menu.

Smarter Construction. No more babysitting pawns when building walls.
Stack gap. By default, pawns constantly refill storages. With this mod, you can configure it so that storages are refiled only when they're empty.

Just Put It Over There. Traders will deliver the merchandise, instead of dropping it on the ground.
Trade Ships Drop Spot. Mark the spot in which orbital traders will deliver the merchandise, instead on whenever they feel like it. Doesn't work inside animal pens.
Trading Options. Configure how frequent you want the traders to be.
WVC. More work modes for the mechanitor.
Save Settings. Allows you to save and load storage, production, and clothes settings. Works cross-save!

Custom Guilt Duration. Executions in vanilla are a pain because the guilty status goes away too fast. Now you can configure it.
Dress Patients. Allows dressing of downed pawns.

Dubs Bad Hygiene. Plumbing!
Vanilla Temperature Expanded. Lot of useful temperature-related buildings, as well as proxy heat, a very cool mechanic. Some buildings are redundant with the previous mod, just don't research the ones that you don't want.
Death Rattle + Biosculpter Patch + Life Support. Changes the behavior of mortal wounds so they're not instakills.
Dynamic Flooding. Inundations!
Some Things Float. I recommend disabling the chance of pawns loosing their footing.
Layered Wall Destruction. Walls aren't just destroyed, they become debris. Note that there's an issue in which the debris will spawn home areas.
Yayo's Combat. Combat overhaul. You can disable the ammunition system if it's not your thing.
Character Editor. Allows you to edit and save/load pawns.
RunAndGun. Allows to use guns while moving, with penalties to accuracy. Don't enable the dual wield or search and destroy modules, they won't work.
EPOE Forked. Fills in the gaps of surgery content in the base game. I recommend disabling the additional workstations and enabling direct crafting only. Less micromanagement, more fun.

Stepping Stones. A more reasonable research path.
Dubs Break Mod makes it so that severe mental breaks require severe negative thoughts.
Fists Aren't Made of Steel. Reduces the unarmed melee damage, making prison breaks and tantrums much less frustrating.
No Burn Metal. Sets the flammability of metal buildings, and others, to zero.

Realistic Rooms Rewritten. Allows to tweak how pawns perceive room sizes.
Ugh You Got Me. Social fights stop when pawns are sufficiently hurt or in pain. Doesn't affect masochists or psychopaths.
Better Pyromania. Way less frustrating.
Mortar Accuracy. Improves mortar mechanics.
Graze up. Grazing rebalanced.
Better Camp Loot
Snap Out! Wardens can try to calm down pawns on mental breaks. "Try" is the keyword here.
Peer Pressure. Opinions matter when converting someone.

Hey everyone! I recently did a deep dive on how music was used during ww2. I researched the history of how Germany became the "People of Music". A lot of musicologists in Germany worked with the Nazis' and tied this idea into their claimed proof of the Aryan race. Which they used to justify the holocaust. They used music as a means of torture in many ways to control everyone they occupied. The Allies also weaponized music with intelligence agencies in different ways as a form of anti propaganda that was very effective against the Third Reich.
