AUS Mount from Reptilia, for 30mm diameter magnified optics, is a beautifully crafted piece of machinery. This product is the result of a 2-year development program and it truly shows in its design and functionality. The finish, an Anodized Flat Dark Earth, gives it a sleek look that blends well with various M1913 Picatinny rails it can be attached to.
This AUS Mount stands out due to the custom bolt mounting system with an anti-snag, spring-loaded, nitrided steel clamp. The clamp can be tightened using either a 5/32 hex or a flat blade driver for a low-profile, streamline design. The single piece of billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which it is made from, is further enhanced with the MIL-STD Type III Class 2 hard anodize coating.
The AUS Mount is compatible with all of Reptilia's existing 30mm ROF line and will also work with several new ROF products launching soon. Despite its robust build and advanced tech, it is surprisingly lightweight and compatible with different optic configurations.

With its adjustable incline arms, it's become a breeze to store those hard-to-reach items off the ground. The 30-inch arm length fits perfectly in my limited space, and the steel frame construction gives me the durability that I need.
The 500-pound capacity per arm is more than enough for my bar stock and tubing. The only downside is that it's not the most affordable option on the market, but its functionality and strength make it a worthwhile investment.

As a sailor, the importance of having a reliable and secure autopilot system cannot be overstated. So when it came time to replace the mounting socket for my autopilot, I decided to give the Raymarine Cantilever Mounting Socket a try. The high-grade design stood out to me and, after a few weeks of using it, I can confidently say that it delivered on its promise of extended lifespan.
One of the things that impressed me most during my first installation was how easy it was to fit on my autopilot. The 30mm cantilever hole was perfect, and with a simple cut and a few twists, the socket was securely in place. I also appreciated the sturdy design, which gave me the confidence that my autopilot would hold up during even the roughest sea conditions.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks as well. After my first use, I had a bit of trouble with the mounting system. Even though the included epoxy was effective in securing the cap, I faced some difficulty getting rid of captured air. Eventually, I found a workaround that involved leaving some of the glue-free while inserting the cap, but I wouldn't say it was ideal.
Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase of the Raymarine Cantilever Mounting Socket. It's a well-engineered product that delivers a rock-solid performance, and while it's priced a bit higher than some alternatives, it's worth it for the peace of mind it provides.

In my line of work, I often find myself dealing with heavy and bulky materials that need to be properly stowed away in the warehouse. That's why when I heard about the Vestil HSA-C-30 Cantilever Rack, I knew it was right up my alley.
The first thing that caught my eye was its adjustable design, which provided me with the added flexibility I needed. Whether I had a single piece or a full load, this rack made it easy for me to align the arms perfectly. The pre-drilled holes and included hardware made the process even more streamlined, ensuring that my materials were safe and secure.
One of the features that really stood out was the lips on the rack, which prevented any products from falling off. This little detail made a big difference in ensuring that my materials stayed in place, even under heavy loads.
Of course, no product is without its drawbacks. For me, the one downside was the color, which was a bit loud for my taste. However, this is a minor detail that didn't affect the functionality or durability of the rack.
Overall, the Vestil HSA-C-30 Cantilever Rack has been a lifesaver in my warehouse. Its versatility, durability, and customizable options have made it the go-to product for handling long, heavy materials. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to keep their workplace organized and efficient.

I recently had the chance to use the Shimano Altus CT91 Rear Cantilever Brake with Link Wire during a grueling mountain bike ride. After struggling with my previous brakes, these new ones made a world of difference. The adjustable brake toe and spring tension provided me with peace of mind when braking, especially during those high-speed descents.
One of the things that stood out to me was the straddle wire inclusion. I found myself adjusting it frequently during my ride, which allowed me to fine-tune the brake tension to my liking. The Shimano Reference Number, BR-CT91, also showed me that this was a quality product that would last.
Despite the overall positive experience, I did face a few minor issues. The installation process was a bit longer than I would've liked, and the straddle wire needed some fine-tuning to prevent any unwanted noises or vibrations. However, these issues were easily overcome, and the product's sturdiness and stopping power truly shone through.
In conclusion, the Shimano Altus CT91 Rear Cantilever Brake with Link Wire proved to be an excellent choice for my mountain bike. Its adjustability, durability, and ease of installation made it a win for me, despite those minor hiccups during setup.

The full-motion design allows for easy manual adjustments, enabling me to find the perfect angle for an optimal viewing experience. The package comes with everything I need, including a user manual and hardware pack, making it a hassle-free setup process.
However, one area where it falls short is the bubble level. It doesn't come included with the mount, so users might need to purchase it separately or rely on their own tools for ensuring a perfectly balanced positioning. Nonetheless, this minor inconvenience hasn't detracted from my overall positive experience with the InstallerCCTV Universal Cantilever Wall Mount. It truly is a reliable and user-friendly choice for any TV enthusiast.

Wardian style cabinet as frog enclosure: can it be done?
Okay hear me out. I have shared a picture of the wardian case/cabinet I found on FB marketplace. I was probably going to just use it as a greenhouse type cabinet for some of my houseplants or possibly as a case for carnivorous plants. But it occurred to me that the size of the glass enclosure portion is equivalent to a 18x18x24 terrarium. It would take some modifications (silicone to seal, lights and a way to slide cords in possibly - unless I use lamps on the outside, would likely need to build or find a taller tray to drop in for substrate) but do you think it could be done? I’m thinking an easy going tree frog, perhaps a dumpy frog pair? Am I reaching? I just see so much potential in this cabinet! Let me know your thoughts.

2024.05.28 22:54 WaltersWish 10 days and 11 sales. Spent $460. Avg cost of item is about $40.

Background: I make and sell handmade jewelry. My Landing page is good. I am offering a 15% discount and I know my products sell. I have been on Etsy since 2015 and have 17,000 sales. (it gets harder to sell on Etsy everyday.)
I just ran an ad for 10 days, I only got 11 sales and spent $460. I know this preformed terrible. I am open to suggestions.
Avg price of an item is about $42. subtract 15% = 6.30 ($35.70 left) Cost to make $13-$15 silver varies daily. Profit is around $22.
I had a carousel ad and it only used the first card out of 10. It doesnt look like anything else was shown to the customer. Shouldn't have some of the other cards been used?
In your experience which does better customer testimonials, new products or popular products. In your experience which does better Video's, 1 picture or slide show of pictures? do well?
I am trying my best to learn how to do ads but it's difficult when you have to make the product and do everything else. Time and budget are my enemy.
I am not sure if I am allowed to post a link to my store. If you would like it please let me know.
Any help is appreciated.

How to fix colors in film photos scanned from Kodak Slide n Scan?
I bought a Kodak Slide n Scan digital film scanner to try to save money on my film scans. However, when I'm comparing the lab scans from my local lab to the scans I get from the Kodak, the colors are soo much better in the lab scans. I'm not editing the photos on the Kodak device itself or changing the brightness. The 1st photo attached shows the image, unedited, as it comes from the self-scanner. The 2nd photo is the same exact photo but from the lab. I didn't expect the self scanned images to be amazing quality or anything, but why are the colors so off? It looks so much worse than the lab scans lol. A friend of mine has the same Kodak scanner and her self scans look normal. What am i doing wrong? Thank you in advance for any tips/help!

2024.05.28 19:16 okokcomputerokok Need Advice on Protecting My S23 Ultra

Hey everyone,
I recently bought a used S23 Ultra and I'm looking for some advice on how to protect it properly. Here are a few things to consider:
  1. Frequent Drops: My phone tends to fall often because I'm using a wheelchair (not very high) and it usually rests on my lap. On past phones with glass backs, I've even put some extra protection on it with grey industrial adhesive tape – yes, it's that serious.
  2. Need for Grip: The phone is huge and I need a case that provides a good grip without adding too much bulk. It's already quite big enough but I suppose I will have to deal with it.
  3. Current Case Issues: I bought some cheap stuff from a phone booth at the mall and it's not cutting it. The screen protection is awful, especially with the fingerprint scanner, and I'm having trouble using gestures (I've deactivated the side panel, so it's not related to that). I rely on gestures for navigation, and it's really difficult to switch to the previous app by sliding the bottom bar. Any suggestions on improving this would be great (maybe there's a software solution?).
  4. Screen: I don't mind changing the protection every now and then and I hate those mushy protection,
  5. Budget-Friendly Options: I'm looking for something affordable. I like AliExpress but I can buy from anywhere, like amazon, etc.. I'm based in Europe.
Any recommendations for cases and screen protectors that would suit my needs? Plus, if anyone has tips on improving gesture navigation with my current setup, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.28 15:32 FlynnPatrick I talked with meta directly yesterday about their algorithm

I got chosen from a small group of ppl over 10k at random to get a phone call from meta where they talk about their new algorithm. This isn’t really my niche on actual Instagram but I figured this sub might be interested. There were 6 major things I took:
  1. Consistency matters but you don’t have to post daily anymore. At least 3x a week (or at minimum every other day) they did emphasize you must post at least 3x a week or else you would likely fall off the algorithm. Last part is the main thing they told me out of everything listed. If you post daily nothing to worry about at all but helps imo if you work outside of content or need a health break
  2. Probably not a shocker but reels are best way to grow page organically.
Edit: I wanted to add from personal experience in terms of paying for ads I think it helps before 10k but after its way more financially viable to try and hit the algorithm with reels. Meta didnt even mention ads on this call
  1. This one was surprising to me and I made this thread after seeing this question asked on my Reddit feed: hashtags do still matter but like 3-5 and niche.
  2. If your goal is engagement over growth then carousel posts (the static posts of more than 1 slide). They..didn’t say this directly but kind of insinuated one slide static posts don’t do much.
Edit: if you are eligible for and rationing bonuses for static posts only single slide posts are eligible though. Carousel posts are not monetized in the bonus
  1. Schedule your posts around when your followers are on the most you can see in your page business stats. I’ll prob start doing this.
  2. Use trending audio.
If there’s any questions lmk and I’ll tell in comments if it was covered
Edit:
  1. Don’t post watermarked content/crossposting. This was a question in the comments and they did emphasize this

Waking up next time was scary. Wrapped in the sheet and left in the dark made it feel like I was completely trapped inside something, so on instinct I started flailing and struggling until I found myself falling off the bed and laying on the floor. Ow. This is what I get for falling asleep wrapped in a bedsheet...
As I looked around my pen, I realized that lights were actively brightening up. Did predators see me waking up and raise light levels? I doubt they’re keeping that close a watch on me. Arxur had lights all over their ships go dimmer on a schedule, maybe I just caught it mid-cycle.
And as I tried to stand up, I was met with a hurdle... I was still missing a leg. Everything about trying to even balance myself felt wrong. I used the bed to try and balance on it, but couldn’t without my whole body feeling off. Feeling... lighter, in absolutely horrid way. I could actually balance on one leg before by raising other, but now as I tried to do that, I just found myself tumbling and needing to catch myself. I... I’ll have to get used to this... Won’t I...?
I couldn’t allow myself to cry. If I couldn’t even stand on one leg and hop... At least I won’t be reduced to crawling on the floor. I gripped at the bed tightly and used my arms to hold myself up as I carefully hopped closer to the little bedside stand, switching my arms to hold onto that. Hopping like that felt so off, it felt like so off, so wrong, I shouldn’t feel this light...
Alright. I am now in front of the bedside stand. Next... I need to make my way across the room. First order of business is checking out the contents of the closet. I needed to know what’s in there. By hopping and clawing my way over to desk in the corner of the room, then by simply clinging to the wall, I manage to approach it and open the sliding door to reveal...
A bathroom. It was not a closet. It was a bathroom. Attached to my cell. Sure, the shape of the devices inside left a lot to be desired, sink was too high and the toilet didn’t have any tail room to it, not to mention complete lack of body drier for the shower. But it was recognizably a bathroom. Part of me was frustrated that there was bathroom instead of closet as a room should be... But another part relieved that I will no longer have to use The Hole like I had to back in the arxur pens. After that business was done, I used a small stool that was probably forgotten in here to use the sink.
Other paw left me very confused as to predators’ true motives... But whatever it is, it can’t be good, they’re predators after all. But since they’ve given me the chance to actually use real cleaning facilities... I will just take it and make use of it. Water valves on the sink were configured in a familiar way, so I managed to wash my paws and even my face, finally getting the stinging dry patches under my eyes out. There was no dryer so I just used a towel to try and dry my face.
With that done, I left the bathroom, barely avoiding falling as I hopped and closed the door behind me, before turning and examining my cell again. Something was different.
It appears in time it took me to use the bathroom, the predators entered the room and left something on the table. A large tray with a whole bunch of small bowls, and a... sheet of paper and a pen? What? Wait, the bowls, those look like... food!
I actually fell over as I lost my balance, before quickly crawling and pushing myself closer to the table, and climbing into one of two chairs next to it. I forgot the last time I ate food that looked like food and not gravel!
Still, hesitation gripped me. It’s predators giving this to me. There has to be some ulterior motive. Pushing back my hunger, I decided to investigate the paper in front of me. It consisted of two halves. One had pictures of contents of all the trays besides empty rectangles, while another had... A bunch of small pictures of venlil? There was nothing actually written on either sheet. Maybe these predators don’t have a language? Not that it matters, I wouldn’t understand it anyway. Closer look revealed that pictures were actually a small comic.
First the venlil is shown taking a bite out of some vague circular food. Then from that picture three lines are drawn to three different outcomes. One has same venlil shoveling multiples of that food into its mouth hungrily, as well as that same food piece beside a rectangle, inside of which two lines were drawn at an angle. Second has venlil just taking few more bites out of the food, and rectangle has a circle inside it. Last one has venlil spitting the food out and throwing it away, with two crossed lines in the rectangle.
Looking between two parts of the sheet for a bit, realization hit me. It’s instructions... For trying all the food. They want me to try everything... And... Mark whether I like it or not? Using these symbols?
“But why...?” I muse out loud, but there’s nobody in here to answer me. Well... If it means I get to eat real food, I guess I could try filling this sheet out. Part of me wondered if I should lie on all the answers, and that its predators figuring out which is the most disgusting food to feed me, but I doubted I’d be able to hide my reaction if it was disgusting and they were probably watching anyway. I felt powerless...
Well, I also felt rather hungry. Feeling of hunger has become way too familiar with how underfed I was with the arxur, but sight of what might be real food made me salivate for first time in forever. Without further ado, I reached out to first thing on the tray.
It was some sort of root, I think, but peeled. It was a stark orange color, thankfully not too reminiscent of blood in shade... I felt an itch in the leg I no longer had at the thought of blood. No, stop, don’t think about that... For a test, I gave the root a little lick. There was a hint of sweetness, so it probably wasn’t bad, right? So I put it in my mouth and bit a piece off, starting to chew. The root turned out to be rather crunchy and mildly sweet... And yet it felt incredible. I was suddenly much more acutely aware of my hunger, food with actual taste reawakening the feeling in force. I swallowed the chunks and bit into it more and more until it was all gone. It was nice to eat something like that. I considered marking it with the angled lines in the sheet, but then realized that I should try at least two things to know how all this stuff compares before making that call.
So I reached my hand towards the next piece of food, what looked like some light red fruit. It was smooth, but test of my claws also showed that it was rather hard. First food wasn’t poisoned, so I doubt rest will be... And I want more! So I just bite into the fruit.
And instantly delicious juice flows into my mouth! It’s not as crunchy as the root vegetable, but its firm enough to need chewing, and yet with every move of my teeth, it seeps delicious sweet juice into my mouth! I couldn’t stop so I kept biting and munching on it. I missed taste of something truly sweet! So much! It took me less than a minute to destroy the fruit. It was the perfect meal. Seeds were a bit bitter, but the rest was worth it.
Now I get why there are three categories. I pick up the pen and draw out the symbols. Angled line for the fruit, and a circle for root. Alright, I’ve got my reference, I guess. But I’m definitely not full and there’s more to try.
Next I reached for green stalks. I wasn’t sure what they were, but they looked like oversized, solid grass. Yet again, lick on the outside showed no clear taste, so I bit on it. It... wasn’t anything, really. It was slightly sour and had this herbal sense to it, but beyond that, didn’t feel like much of anything. I marked that one as a circle too.
Next I thought to try one of the fruits again, this one deep red. It seems like nothing around here has a taste on outside, as yet again, taut skin did not have a taste. I did almost choke when I bit on it though, this one not having any chew to it at all and was practically filled with juice! Worst thing is, juice wasn’t even sweet. I can’t say I disliked the taste, it was rather decent, but the way it basically sprayed my mouth when I bit on it was not something I appreciated. Circle for this one.
Next... what next... Oh, that green thing. I didn’t even bother tasting it on the outside, just biting on the prolonged green fruit. This had no surprises, being as crunchy as that root I tried first, but its taste was even vaguer, even the juices were tasteless. Circle.
Hm... Well that left three items. A white fruit-like orb, a bunch of small nuts and an oblong... thing that I had no idea about. I reached for the orb and, with no hesitation, took a big bite. First thing I felt was slight hint of sweetness and taste of juice in my mouth. Second was pain as I regretted every decision so far. It burned my mouth! It burned my eyes somehow! Instantly, tears burst out of my eyes, and I found myself coughing out the disgusting thing. It pretended to be sweet but it just burned afterwards! Was this a trick after all? Eugh... Disgusting!
I threw the thing away, towards the door, letting it roll on the floor. Stupid predators... I mean, it’s clear they have no clue what to feed me to keep me alive but least they could do is not feed me whatever that is! My eyes hurt now... Through tears I spotted glass of water on the tray and quickly washed the foul taste down. I made sure to draw several sets of crossed lines in the rectangle for this thing. I just hoped that won’t make the predators only feed me that...
Well... One great, a bunch okay, one bad. Let’s... try the rest. I thought that nuts won’t hurt, so I tried a few... And they just tasted like nuts. Nuts are fun snacks, but not my personal favorite. I gave those a circle.
That left only the oblong off-white thing. It was slightly soft to touch... I wasn’t sure if it was meant to be some fruit or something I don’t understand? Carefully, to avoid any more errors, I only take a small bite. Okay, no juice at all, only the nice chewy fiber of the thing... It was sweet! Very sweet for something so juiceless. I took a larger bite and there were no issues. It tasted like weird, juiceless fruit, but was delicious and sweet. Still, texture felt off enough that I gave it a circle.
And... that was it. I ate everything, I rated everything. One great, one terrible, rest are fine. I wiped at my eyes again, as they were slowly watering still from just the memory of that terrible thing now laying on the floor by the door.
Question arose in my mind. What now? I actually felt sated. Not full, definitely, I could go for double what I was given, but at least I didn’t actively feel hunger anymore. I wasn’t that thirsty thanks to how juicy some of those were and that glass of water. And I didn’t feel like sleeping... Normally in arxur pen I’d just huddle to someone willing to let me near and cry. Sure, this place seems nicer, but at least with the arxur I knew what to expect. Here? No clue. I looked down at the stump of my leg, still bandaged over. I... I wanted to cry. All the panic and the confusion completely made me stop thinking about home... Mom and dad... I hope they weren’t caught up in same raid. I... I wonder if they held a funeral already... I remember how mom attended official funeral for someone who got taken by the arxur one time.
Tears started welling up properly now and I pushed them away by trying to stand up... holding onto the table with my hands to not fall over again. Is this going to be my life now...? Unable to even move around without gripping at everything, or crawling on the floor? I want to go home...
As I pulled myself over by clinging to walls, I grabbed the blanket off the bed along the way and made my way over to the desk in the corner, pushing its chair aside and climbing under it. I don’t know why, but crawling under there and wrapping myself up in the blanket just felt safer. And once I felt a bit safer, I couldn’t hold it in anymore.
I miss my home! I miss my family! I miss my school! I miss my leg! Tears flowed as I sobbed and cried into the soft blanket. I didn’t want to be a test subject for weird predators... I didn’t want to be the reason they know more about the venlil... I wanted to taste normal food from home again, not weird predator vegetables and fruit... I wanted to walk on two legs again... I wanted so much I knew nobody could give me...
Click!
My ears perk and instantly my eyes are focusing on the door that just unlocked. It slowly opens and there it is... The same predator as before. I can tell for certain it’s the same, no way all of them look that similar. Of course, the moment it walked in, it locked its gaze on me in my hiding spot. Naturally, I recoiled, further shuffling myself under the desk... Maybe whatever it wants to do, it won’t bother if I’m in annoying to reach spot like that.
It does seem to be working, as first thing the predator does after staring at me for a bit is slowly reach down for the discarded foul food thing and pick it up, stuffing it in zip lock bag it brought with it. Oh... It’s here to... clean? I guess? The suspicions were confirmed when it put the bag on the now-empty tray and gathered the paper with food evaluation that I filled out. But... Instead of taking the tray and leaving, it turned around and approached me.
Lowering itself in front of me, the presence of this huge creature was imposing... But after seeing it cry before, I don’t think I was that intimidated by it, at least. Moreso by what unpredictable things it could do... It just sat there, staring at me... What’s with the staring? Is it considering eating the rest of me finally?
Then that hand reached out. I flinched away, trying to stuff myself deeper under the desk, but there was no deeper to go. The hand moved slowly, predator knowing full well I have no escape route. So as it gets close to my head I close my eyes and hold my breath, not sure what to expect, but bracing for it anyway. Instead of a tight grip... there was a touch, that hand lowering itself on top of my head and just ruffling up my greasy hair. The digits felt strong and dexterous, actually feeling good when they rubbed against my scalp. But just because the touch felt good doesn’t mean I felt good in this uncertainty. A predator was rubbing my head... What was it trying to do? Why would it do that?
The moment lasted a bit before the hand pulled back. I slowly opened my eyes to see the predator’s lips curl up as it whispered something in its language. Or at least I can only assume it’s a whisper with how shushed it was compared to when it actually spoke before. Why is it trying to speak to me when I can’t understand it?
Then... it stood up and turned around, grabbing the tray and heading for the exit. Just like that. It did stop for a moment to turn and give me another look. This time I expected it and didn’t flinch, but I did pull the blanket up higher, using it as a shield. The predator didn’t mind, same expression of curled-up lips and slightly lowered eyelids on its face as it left the room, and another click signifying the door locking.
I let out the breath I was holding with relief. It was gone. I was safe again. And alone...
I wrapped the blanket tighter around myself, pulling my leg up against my chest. That way I could imagine I am cuddling up to someone. In the pens, that was at least possible. Here I was alone. Predator’s touch was surprisingly nice to feel, but knowing it was a predator that... did that... It made me feel so conflicted. And yet the idea of close contact to someone, hugging and cuddling up was still reawakened with that touch.
I wish I could have my mom... But I couldn’t, so I just curled up under the desk and decided to rest until something made me move again.
Memory transcription subject: Dr. Erin Kuemper, UN Secretary of Alien Affairs
Date [standardized human time]: July 16th, 2136
“So, what’ll happen to the guy who replaced the pumpkin with the onion last minute?” Sara asked, sitting beside me.
“Already got a talking to, and honestly, Noah getting to him will be more punishment than anything I could do. I can’t even fault the guy, tasting platter was supposed to be varied.” I responded.
In front of us was a screen, displaying paused footage of venlil child tasting the things we prepared. We made sure to avoid anything even remotely connected to animal product, with what we know of the Federation species culturally, but figuring out actual diet beyond had us stumped. In the end we settled on setting up a few tasting platters. thankfully, the kid was intelligent enough to figure out what was wanted pf her and marked her opinions of the food on the sheet. But even if she hadn’t...
I fast-forwarded the footage a bit and rewatched her reaction to biting the onion. While her facial expressions were rather different from human ones, it was easy to tell which foods she was excited about, which she found just okay, which were whatever and which were... onions. Apples being delicious was almost expected, but somehow I doubted giving her just apples would be nutritionally sound. For the first test, we intentionally avoided anything cooked, but we might try some things like potatoes or bread next time.
“Okay, Erin, I tried, but since you’re not talking about it, I have to. Are you really okay with it? The announcement today?”
That was something I’ve been waiting for ever since Sara offered to join me on analyzing the alien girl’s behavior during meal. She tried to stay distant from anything related to the child so far until now.
The announcement went well. Thing is... it was crafted carefully. The reactions of public were supposed to be mixed and uncertain, and they were. We needed to manage the expectations of the masses carefully. Me being given new position didn’t matter that much yet, as I would mostly still be handling this lab and the alien child until the first trade with the arxur goes through.
“We did what we have to do, Sara. We can’t afford alienating the only people who are our chance at survival. Even if...”
“Even if they’re monsters? Erin, when you spoke on the broadcast about ‘not taking sides in a galactic war where we’re incompatible with both sides’ you conveniently forgot to mention that the side we’re ‘establishing non-committing peaceful cooperation’ with eats fucking children!”
Sara’s anger was understandable... She was lashing out ever since the landing. I understood her perspective and why she was angry, but...
“Okay, so what? You want us to condemn them and cut all contact? Abandon the only source of intel we have? Potentially risk them just coming here and forcing us to cooperate once they decide we’re not fit to govern ourselves if we publically oppose their fundamental beliefs?”
“Okay, fine, whatever, nazi lizards versus genocide squids and whatnot. Their war, we aren’t involved, just using arxur until we can establish ourselves. I hate it, but sure. But then what about the child? Why is she suddenly classified and not mentioned in the broadcast at all? Why is she even still here?”
I simply sighed, rubbing at my eyes. First Noah practically demanding death sentence for the onion guy, now this... And she was still going too...
“We should just pack her up on the Odyssey, set automated course for their homeworld and let her go home. Sure, her parents are likely long dead and eaten, but she should be with her people. Why are we keeping her here at all? Why are we studying her like a test subject? And I know we’re keeping her for a while, I’ve seen the team working on language teaching lessons already.” Sara stood up and walked in front of me, getting in my face even. “Erin... We can’t keep her here.”
I swatted at Sara, pushing her away as I myself stood up. I was tired. These last few days were a constant rollercoaster, and I got more sleep during exam weeks in college than I got lately. I am not taking Sara’s bullshit here.
“This is precisely why we didn’t announce her presence, Sara. Because the moment we do, there’ll be millions of people demanding what you’re suggesting. I have enough on my plate already, and I don’t want to worry about a flash mob of idiots from internet Naruto-running towards the facility to try and ‘rescue’ her.” I adjusted my labcoat and stared back at Sara sternly. “And let’s say we do send her on her own. First, we have to assume that the craft makes it safely, which is not guaranteed. Odyssey was our first manned FTL voyage. Who knows what problems are yet to be discovered? But okay, it makes it to Gliese. Then it gets shot down by local orbital defenses due to being a mysterious unmanned craft barreling towards their homeworld. But sure, let’s assume the kid doesn’t get rest of her limbs blown off by orbital cannons and successfully lands. You know what happens next? They track the ship’s trail back to Earth, come over here and burn us all down for being born with needs for wrong proteins! Is that what you want?”
I didn’t even notice that halfway through my rant I transitioned to yelling. I tried to calm my breath and stepped back, Sara staring back at me in shock, though responding slowly still.
“I’m sorry... I know it’s stressful on you, just as much as it is on me, I just...” Sara mumbled, rubbing at her shoulder apologetically.
I focused my thoughts. Right. No need to get irritable. Sara is vulnerable after events on the Odyssey. She’s lashing out and I shouldn’t stoop down like that.
“Sara... I know you have a hard time knowing she’s around, but simply put, we can’t send her home. Best we can do now is make sure she is safe and well taken care of. Arxur are uncooperative, and until we manage to either obtain some stealth tech for FTL or figure out a way to peacefully communicate with Federation, we just cannot send the venlil back to her people.”
She sighed. I could sense she accepted defeat here, but there was still frustration on her face. She was still unsatisfied, but as long as we moved on from the topic, I’d take it.
“Could you at least get that prosthetic installed for her already? Seeing her completely ignore the crutch we prepared her and crawl and hop her way over by clinging to things, it’s...”
“We’re worried about doing it before establishing at least some sense of communication with her. Noah will start the attempts to do some language training tomorrow. If that works out, we will probably do that once we can explain to her that we mean no harm.”
“How’s the bionic one going? Could we skip straight to that?”
“No. We’d need more surgery to prepare her for something like that and that’d definitely require more trust than we have now.”
Sara nodded and returned to her seat, grabbing the remote. She rewound all the way to the end of the footage and switched to the camera that could see the girl huddled under the desk, as well as Noah petting her, telling her that it’s okay and safe. The moment was touching, but... The way she recoiled from Noah reaching out to her at first showed us more than any words we don’t understand could. She was still very afraid.
Earning her trust will be hard. I just hoped Noah’s compassion for her will overcome the fear she has of humans. After all... She might just be our main hope for finding a place of peace in the galaxy full of war.

2024.05.28 06:10 TheCJK Bubba Yaga 4

First
The twins held the large platter made of reclaimed fnga armor in front of Mother Darknest. The large female ate greedily, pulling meat up into her mandibles. Sliplegs held a similar platter for his sisters to feast, and Pusdot held the one for his wives.
The females ate until their abdomens swelled. Mother Darknest tilted back, waving the remainder away. The twins took it to the far corner and began eating the leftover chunks. The territory queen looked out over her immediate family as they feasted. She waited until Stormsky and Tightclasp got their fill and watched as her son took their platter away. "Pusdot, set it down and come here."
The young father did as told and approached her, bowing low, eyes darkened in submission.
"You've made us full, made us proud again."
He raised his hands, palms up. "Thank you my mother."
She looked out over her family. "I have something to confess my brood."
Eyes turned up toward her and the feeding slowed to a stop.
She turned her four eyes around the room, noting their attention. "Before today, before this feast, I had lost hope." She focused down on Pusdot. "This witch beast of yours, I thought it was a curse. Our males were dying, coming back maim. Our women were having to hunt for themselves. Several cousins left, banding together to take territory for themselves, away from these cursed trees. My sister sent word they were slain, eaten by the Quicklimbs to the north."
She paused, staring at her son. "My sister. Her sons lost, her husband left with only two hands. Our clans haven't met since I was young, our waters cut apart by your beast. We are surrounded on three sides, and what I saw as a curse on our fourth." She paused. "But you, my son, you have turned a boon. You, my failure, my own curse staring at me, you have proven the greatest blessing in these, my last molts."
He raised his right hand, drawing scratches in the air. "You have many molts left Mother."
She chittered her teeth. "I think you may be right son." She leaned forward, smelling him. "You will prove yourself further my son. I have a new task for you."
"Ask it and it shall be done, or by my death."
She looked over at Sliplegs. "My nieces need a mate. Do you think your son would be capable?"
Pusdot turned an eye toward his son. "How many are they?"
"Five." Mother Darknest replied.
Sliplegs eyes darkened as he slumped down.
"That is a heavy burden Mother. I don't see him lasting long."
She shifted at the top of the stairs, looking around the woven sphere. "I see differently son." She hissed. "I see my throne full of meat, unable to be eaten. I see meat that could be sent to feed my starving sister, and I see a male who could be put to better work than feeding his sisters."
Pusdot lowered himself further.
"You will take him to my sister beyond your witch. They share our proximity to the monster. He will join you on your hunts, and the meat will be portioned between our clans."
He looked back over at his son. They widened their eyes at each other, knowing it must be done.
---===*===---
The quickest way to their aunt's nestlands was straight past Bubba's abode, and Pusdot led the way. He leapt from bough to bough, Sliplegs leaping easily behind him. They reached the tall scratch-poke tree they used to eye the human's domain and paused. Pusdot looked out, noting the human doing something upon the porch.
He shifted farther out on the branch, looking at the odd behavior.
The Witch Bubba had tool of metal in his hand, swinging it down upon something on the porch. He picked up what once was whole, and put the pieces in a tray upon his lap. Pusdot watched as he sorted through the broken bits before realizing what they were.
Sliplegs looked at his dad. "Is he touching Gost flesh?"
Pusdot leapt from the bough, landing hard on the tin roof, banging and rolling as he neared the edge. He caught himself before going over and leaned over. Bubba had stopped and was looking up at him.
"What are you trying to do you crazy ass?"
Pusdot didn't pause long before crawling down the porch post and leapt at his human friend. Bubba raised an arm up to stop him, but the spiderfolk dodged and grabbed the tray on his lap and flung it into the water.
Bubba looked out at the splash. "Woah, what the damn hell you doin?" He stood up and put a hand on Pusdot's shoulder, easing him back. "Back the fuck up bud."
Pusdot took a step back and noted the human now towering over him. "Are you in that much pain Bubba?"
Bubba stared at him for a moment. "What?"
The spiderfolk looked at the orb floating beside him. "The orb, is it working, do you know my words?"
Bubba nodded. "Yeah, I hear you, but I'm not understanding. You're throwing my stuff out, why?"
"Gost. The pain killer worms, what hurts you so much? There are other medicines we can try."
Bubba looked out at the water and then back toward Pusdot. "I'm not hurting buddy. I just wanted to see what you were talking about."
He turned his four eyes out toward the water and slowly shifted them back to the human. "You wanted to experiment with death?"
"Death? What? What the hell was I just mashing there?"
Pusdot stepped closer just as Sliplegs reached the edge of the roof. The young male looked over the edge. "Did he let one touch?"
Pusdot took Bubba's hands and looked them over. "You touch the worms from its flesh?"
"Yeah, touched a lot. Had about fifty of them piled up before you chucked em."
Pusdot pressed his palms and pinched his fingers. "Do you still feel?"
"Yeah, you're squeezing me."
Pusdot took a step back and slowly let go of his hands. "Gost worms. They take the pain away when old, help kill, ease a good death for an elder."
Bubba's eyes widened. "Holy shit. I almost lethal injected myself with worms. Holy fucking hell!" He turned, looking at his hands. "Woah. Thank you for knocking them."
Sliplegs crawled down the post and stood beside his father. "They touched his fingers?"
Pusdot widened his eyes. "Yes, but he's not numb."
"And he's still standing."
Bubba looked over at them. "What? Just touching them?"
Pusdot mimicked his nodding motion. "Poison around them. Seeps in and causes numbness quickly and death shortly after."
"So, what does that mean?"
The two spiderfolk looked at each other, darkening their eyes with a shake of confusion. Pusdot looked back at the human. "I do not know. Maybe it doesn't work on you."
Bubba sat down on the porch, then shifted to reach into the water and began scrubbing his hands. "Well, I'm thankful you stopped me. Man, I had no idea." Bubba heard a thump on the wooden slats and looked up. Pusdot was laying on the porch unmoving.
"Father. Father!" Sliplegs shouted, kneeling beside him.
Bubba got up quickly and looked around. He found a tarp bunched up beside the chairs and wrapped his hands in it. He moved quickly and picked up Pusdot with his wrapped hands and yelled. "Alexandra!"
His wife opened the door, groaning. "What is it."
"Get the scanner fired up."
She stepped out of the way as Bubba carried the limp spider person into the house. She looked at the young one outside and then back in at Bubba.
Bubba shouted again. "Fire it up woman!"
She snapped into the moment and ran across the living room. She touched a chest in the corner causing it to hiss open. She pulled out a large square plate and put it out on the floor beside her. She paused looking at it as Bubba watched.
"The remote in the bottom. Turn it on."
She nodded and pulled open a hatch on the plate, revealing the remote. She pulled it out and powered the device on. The plate immediately started expanding on the floor and a holographic doctor appeared.
The glowing green doctor stared at Bubba. "What is the nature of your emergency."
Bubba looked down at Pusdot, still breathing, but unmoving. "Poisoning."
The doctor motioned down to the plate on the floor. "Please place the patient upon the table."
Bubba looked at Alexandra. "I can't touch him. I got the shit on my hands. Pull him down onto it."
Alexandra nodded and eased the limp creature down.
The doctor knelt down, appearing to look Pusdot over. "This is an unknown species."
"Yeah, that's right, that's right." Bubba replied, pacing slightly.
The doctor continued staring as numerous drone balls emerged from the plate and crawled onto Pusdot's body. "Scanning. Mapping proteins. DNA processing." The doctor looked up at Bubba. Do you have any of the poison to analyze?"
Bubba dropped the tarp on the floor and held out his hands. "I tried washing it off, but there might be some left."
The doctor motioned for him to put his hands lower. Bubba obeyed and several metallic spheres rolled onto his fingers and began nipping at his skin. "Numerous unknown DNA specimens. Potential oil compound with conflicting properties to subject found. Running simulation." A circle appeared on the doctor's face as it processed.
Bubba looked over at Sliplegs. "I'm sorry son. I didn't know. I had no idea."
Sliplegs shifted his weight around his feet. "Is my father dead?"
The doctor blinked done and stood up. He turned toward the young male. "Your father has been knocked out and without immediate medical attention provided by myself, he would quit breathing in seven minutes." He turned and pointed at a metal orb that sprayed a mist into Pusdot's open mouth. "I have isolated the compound, deduced a counteragent, and administered. Your father should improve and be awake in five minutes."
Alexandra looked at the doctor and then down at Pusdot. "How you know all this?" She turned toward Bubba. "This kit is good. Where the hell you get him from?"
The glowing green doctor smiled. "Kit doctor 445, assigned Bermham outpost. I scanned local hardware for information and found your linguistical logs on this unknown species."
She looked over at Bubba. "Bermham outpost? How you got the town doctor in our kits?"
He smiled at her. "You know my debts?"
"Your gambling debts?"
He nodded. "Well, sometimes I win."
---===*===---
Pusdot woke up in the moving chair, a mug of Bubba's hooch sitting on the barrel beside him. "What happened?"
Sliplegs was sitting with his back against the porch post watching him. "Bubba had the Gost worm on his hands. You were affected from touching him."
Pusdot turned and noted the human moving back and forth beside him.
"Yup." Bubba said.
"Then, I'm dead?"
Sliplegs darkened his eyes and took a drink from his own mug. He looked up after swallowing. "No. Bubba Yaga summoned a spirit, it saved you. Had sphere bugs come from the ground."
Pusdot looked around, his eyes focusing. He saw the female watching from farther down the porch. "A spirit?"
Alexandra was focused on Bubba. "We shouldn't have that thing here. That's supposed to be in town, helping folk. How could you steal it?"
"I told you." Bubba pointed at her. "I won it fair and square. Aces. No cheats, everything above board. He acknowledged and handed it over his own free will. I didn't steal nothing."
"It wasn't his to bet. The town needs it, and you're going to give it back."
Bubba tried to stand and slumped back into the chair. He tried again and stood up, pointing over at the taller female. "He's the god damn mayor. He bet it, It's mine, and thankfully we had it or poor Pus here would be keeled over."
She turned and opened the door, pausing with her back toward him. "We're taking it back to town tomorrow. You're giving it back." She then stepped inside, letting the screen slam behind her.
Sliplegs focused on Bubba. "Thank you for saving him. The mothers would starve if he died."
Bubba reached his hand out toward Pusdot.
He looked it over.
"Don't worry. Doc cleaned it all off."
Pusdot eyed it for a moment and then took his hand. Bubba pulled, lifting the spider to his feet.
"I got something else you need to see." He turned and took a step down the porch before pausing. "Let me know before I screw up again."
---===*===---
Bubba walked them down his pier toward his boat docks. He knelt down and pointed into one of the empty slips. "You see all that moss growing there?"
Pusdot nodded. "Yes. The green grows all through the waters."
Bubba looked up at him. "Yup. It does, but it only flowers and fruits in certain places."
"Yeah. You used it to find the fnga."
Bubba stood up and looked down. "Yeah. I thought it was weird you didn't know. You guys are native and all."
"We know of the fruits. The ctanga thrive on them. Tall legs come and eat them at times also."
Bubba smiled. "Bingo. That's what I didn't know. It makes sense now."
Sliplegs looked down at the moss and then over at his father. "What does the Bubba talk about?"
Pusdot darkened his eyes and focused them on the human.
Bubba laughed. "That moss there." He pointed into the water. "I got one of older shells and threw them in, experimenting. That stuff grew up overnight, attached." He pointed at some nodes floating in the green slime. "See those things, I'm watching those. I think they're buds."
Pusdot knelt down looking. "Of the flowers?"
Bubba nodded. "I realized quick those assholes jump out from the flowers. After I killed my first I realized the strands with the flowers come off their backs. You all don't hunt them, so you didn't know right?"
Pusdot focused on him and widened his eyes. "We only ever find them in parts, old and washed up. The moss black and rotted on them."
"You mentioned some tall legged things?"
Sliplegs widened his eyes, showing a sliver of white. "They break our nets, jostle our homes. Annoying beasts come when it gets colder."
"Gators. I bet those tall legs come and nibble a fruit and the fnga snap up and drag them under."
Pusdot chittered his teeth. "You are truly a witch Bubba. I have seen such a thing! I did not understand how it all was woven together."
Sliplegs matched the chittering. "He knits with his mind father. The human can weave such thoughts!"
Bubba shook his head. "Naw. I dunno about that." He pointed back down. "You all eat those fruits?"
The spiderfolk's bodies shivered for a moment. Pusdot darkened his eyes. "Filth. Used only to disgrace."
Bubba looked back down at the moss. "Damn woman. I'm going to have to take that doctor back to town, else I'd use it to scan some when they get ripe. I didn't risk trying them, and for hell sure ain't after you passing out." He turned and looked at Pusdot. "What you doing tomorrow?"
Pusdot looked at his son and then over at the human. "Tomorrow? I will feed the wives, no different than any day."
"Well, you wanna stay the evening? I'll load you up with some out the freezer to take back and you can go with me tomorrow."
Pusdot lowered himself some. "My son, he is getting wives today. I must finish taking him to their nest."
Bubba smiled bigger than Pusdot had ever seen. "He's getting married! Holy matrimony! Wait, wives?" He looked at the smaller spiderfolk. "How many women you getting young buck?"
Sliplegs struggled with several of the words before replying. "Um, I am to have five females."
Bubba chuckled. "You lucky dog. Wow, guess they all are liking the meat we pulled in. Paid that dowry off!"
Pusdot stared at his son for a moment. "Friend Bubba Yaga. You misunderstand. This is not a joyous thing."
Bubba's face saddened. "What do you mean?"
Sliplegs stood up straighter. "I am to make the five mothers. They will be very hungry, and I will have to work until my body breaks to feed them."
Bubba thought for a moment and then looked at Pusdot. "And this, this is because of me? Because we fed them all?"
"Yes." The spider father replied. "You have caused many things to happen in the territories. Many die, many suffer."
Bubba took a long breath and then nodded to himself. "Yeah. I've pulled quite a few of you from my traps. You know that, I own it. Now this. I ain't having little buddy here struggling like that." He looked the two over. "How can I help?"
---===*===---
The boat purred as it slowed down near the base of the grove of bknot trees. Bubba stared up into the webbed boughs and met the gaze of a dozen tall spiderfolk. Pusdot and Sliplegs were bowing low with their eyes darkened and downturned behind him.
The tallest spiderfolk, standing in the center of the group spoke in their garble tongue. The orb was quick to translate. "What is this noise, this thing and beast with you? Are you captured by this monstrosity?"
Bubba shook his head, his hands out to his sides. "I am friend of Pusdot and young Sliplegs here." He said, the orb quick to translate, echoing through the hardened trees. "I am in debt to these two, and to repay them I have assisted them in providing dowry for Sliplegs wives."
The tall one widened her eyes and stepped to a lower bow, hands stretching out. "You offer yourself beast?"
Pusdot rose quickly, stepping up beside his human friend. "No Mother Silentcut. He is a friend of our nest. He has helped us kill fnga, and we have brought three sides to feast upon tonight. My son's wives will eat their fill as shall your tribe. Please, do not harm our friend."
Sliplegs, still cowering, pulled the tarp off the meat.
The large females in the trees immediately focused in on the display.
Mother Silentcut's eyes widened. "This has never been." She pulled her eyes away from the meat and looked Bubba over. "This is the witch beast is it not?"
"Bubba Yaga Ma'am." He replied. "Pleasure to meet you."

2024.05.28 04:28 FIreBoyi Black Ops 6 Showcase (Full game breakdown)

Hello Reddit! We are finally in Black Ops season, and I'm sure that most of you (like me) are very excited for the release of Black Ops 6 this October 25th . So I've taken it upon myself to layout all known mechanics and content that we know of thus far. This will heavily spoil most of the game so i would recommend skipping if you want to keep things a surprise. I highly reccomend reading this as i spent a while making this.
NOTE: PLEASE READ: since a lot of you are saying this I'd figure is just save others time by putting this here, most of this (especially pertaining to zombies and movement mechanics) is speculation which is trying to explain the leaks we have been getting. Thanks!
So now that I've warned you, lets first state the setting of the game.
Black Ops 6 will take place in 1991 during the Gulf war. Since we have info that 9/11 will be a mission in Black Ops 6, the campaign will most likely flip between 2 time periods. (at least for the linear missions*)
Who's Developing?
As kind of a surprise out of the blue, Raven software announced they co developed the game with Treyarch, whereas previously we assumed they only handled the campaign like in Cold War.
Next we will focus on the campaign for a second.
The campaign will be a fully open world game akin to far cry, where you are a member of Adler's squad completing missions. There will be tons of side quests and main story missions and will do what MWIII failed to do miserably. And the campaign will have some linear mission for those of you that like that style of gameplay :).
So that's the general info about the game, now here is the gameplay side of things.
Weapons: This game will feature 54 weapons on launch (as of current knowledge) and will feature many fan favorites and returning classics! It will have a decorative weapon platform system to switch receivers on the fly and show you related weaponry. you will also notice some weapons from MWII and MWIII on this list. As for those, the only "carry forward" will be the names to have parity between games. Stats, models, sounds, and all that will be different, and will most likely replace the old versions in warzone, the images used for the old weapons are just my placeholders. and with that aside we do have a good mix of old and new guns, and i am especially excited for The Hectate II and the AS Val! and i guess a cool fact is that this is the first time where we will get an accurate M4 since Cod4, surprising right?

Lets talk about movement, this is going to be very hit or miss with the community but i hope Treyarch doesn't mess this up.
Black Ops 6 will add 1 new mechanic (which might have been scrapped), and rework 2 old ones.
The new mechanic which is most likely gonna get scraped is leaning. some of you veterans may remember leaning from PC back in Cod4 - Ghosts. But this time it will function more similarly to R6 Siege. if this does make the final release, i don't think it will be enabled in ranked, and may even replace mounting on walls. This could make for some very... interesting scenarios. The main reason we believe this is being scrapped is due to available mapping space on controllers, as the game will become to complicated. But as always, we trust in Treyarch!
The 2 mechanics they are reworking are Diving and Proning. Black ops 6 has been leaked to be an omnidirectional... boots on the ground game? yeah it sounds confusing but this will explain it better. You will now be able to shoot while dolphin diving, and be able to dive in any direction around you similar to Helldivers 2. you can now move in any direction while proning, so your character will switch from laying on their back to laying on their stomach while crawling.
and they are buffing sliding a little by allowing you to slide in any diagonal direction in front of you, and it will have a more gradual transition to sliding.
So movement looks pretty good this year, now its time for ZOMBIES!
Zombies is looking very good this year, this is what we know so far.
2 Maps on launch: Terminus Island, and Liberty Falls. Terminus island is set on an island in the Atlantic which is hinted to at the end of Forsaken, and Liberty falls is looking like a remake of Tranzit due to asset leaks and the Jet gun being found in the files.
Info via; COD: Zombies News on X: "BLACK OPS 6 ZOMBIES LEAKS ROUNDUP" (thank you to u/southshoredrive in the comments)
Terminus Island: -Likely has an arrow trap -Has a ship with cannons you can use as a trap -Has a port and an underground cellblock/lab accessible via a tube elevator -Likely has a "tentacle trap"
Liberty Falls Map: -Seemingly set in a West Virginian city with a bank and chapel -Has a wonder weapon quest -Has machines you can activate around the map -Has a main quest with a cutscene -Possibly has soldier enemy AI, along with possibly having mini objectives
Crew?
Some new leaks actually propose us getting a crew for this zombies game, but it will most likely be optional and allow for operators and skins to be used.
Game modes?
looking at file names you can expect round based, and possibly onslaught, the objective mode from Vanguard, and outbreak. No content drought this year.
What about Warzone?
For Warzone this year you can expect Verdansk making its return, as well as a new small map in 2025 codenamed "Marina".
That's It! but lets get real now... should I be excited?
this is a very hard question to answer, even as a die hard black ops fan myself i would still be weary. We have to dev teams, and supposedly the games been finished since 2022, and they've just been adding new content and playtesting, so its really up to you. there's been controversy within the COD community the last few years about things like SBMM, EOMM, Cosmetics, Shadow banning, and many more. The only gameplay footage we have is a 0.5 second clip of zombies from a ground view perspective. and while some people on twitter have actually gained assess to the game, they aren't allowed to say anything. And despite the fact that we are all hyped from the marketing, its exactly that's... marketing, its meant to get you excited.
Conclusion/TLDR?
I would still keep your expectations low. you all need to remember this is not the same Treyarch from all those years ago, the ones that gave us all those childhood memories. this game could be the best in the franchise or just another flop.
At the end of the day, you might just walk this road, and lose your soul.. to a studio so heartless.
Thanks for reading :)
Leave a comment, i would love to know what you think.

2024.05.27 23:35 andonutz Genuinely what is wrong with this app now. How do you even grow.

Ever since last year this app has only gotten worse and worse and I don’t know if these problems are exclusive to me. My posts NEVER show up on hashtags, I know hashtags are kinda useless now in general but they don’t even show up at all even when using a small hashtag with not many posts on it so I have no way to pull in new viewers unless it’s from one of my followers story sharing my posts. Im NOT shadowbanned and there is no violations or whatever on my account. I can’t post singular images regularly anymore, after a while they just end up turning into a grey image with a loading spiral and it appears like that for everyone, and when i view other peoples carousel posts after the first few slides every image also shows up grey like that. When people tag me on posts, I don’t get notified and the post doesn’t show up on my account even if I try to manually approve it etc. I’ve made new accounts, I’ve used old accounts.. everything is just broken. Previously having almost 1k, I don’t know why I bothered starting a new account because I’m going to be below 100 followers forever now.

The sexiest thing I’ve ever been inside…

I bought my first Lexus 3 months ago and have no regrets. I originally wanted a Supra, but I needed rear seats. Then I tried the RC, but the rear seats are tiny. I looked at other brands (BMW, Audi, Acura, and even Tesla) but after test driving some, the IS was the best fit for me. I think it’s the perfect combination of luxury, reliability, and sporty.
I sold my previous car at 301k miles, so I plan on keeping this for a very long time.

A few more questions have come up as we have driven this little Ranger. It has a decent service cap on it, access from both sides, but we are wondering if anyone has a source for either a slide out tray or a deck/drawer system that will fit in an 06 Ranger?

2024.05.27 18:03 Imaginary_Jello_5920 My 8th attempt

My 8th attempt
I started with sourdough bread 8 weeks ago. (Starter was 2 month old at the beginning)
I always try different recipes and this time i asked ChatGPT to give me a recipe with spelt and wheat flour.
Here is the recipe from ChatGPT
Ingredients:
For the Sourdough Starter: 50 g active sourdough starter 100 g whole grain spelt flour 100 ml water
For the Main Dough: 250 g wheat flour Type 1050 250 g whole grain spelt flour 350 ml water 12 g salt 1 tbsp honey (optional, for slight sweetness and better browning)
Instructions:
Prepare the Sourdough Starter: Mix the active sourdough starter with 100 g whole grain spelt flour and 100 ml water. Cover and let the mixture sit at room temperature for about 8-12 hours, until it becomes bubbly and rises.
Prepare the Main Dough: Mix the prepared sourdough starter with 250 g wheat flour Type 1050, 250 g whole grain spelt flour, and 350 ml water in a large bowl. Stir well until all ingredients are well combined. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes (autolyse).
Add Salt and Honey: Add 12 g salt and optionally 1 tbsp honey to the dough. Knead the dough for about 10-15 minutes until it is elastic and smooth. This step can be done by hand or with a stand mixer.
Let the Dough Rise: Cover the bowl and let the dough rise at room temperature for 3-4 hours. During this time, perform stretch and fold techniques every 30 minutes to help develop the gluten.
Shape the Dough: After the rising time, transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and gently shape it into a loaf. Place the shaped dough into a floured proofing basket or a bowl lined with a cloth. Let the dough rise for another 2-3 hours or until it has doubled in size.
Baking: Preheat the oven to 250°C (482°F) and place a baking tray or baking stone in the middle rack of the oven. Place a heatproof dish with water at the bottom of the oven to create steam. This helps in developing a nice crust. Carefully turn the dough onto a parchment-lined baking tray. Score the top of the dough to allow controlled expansion. Slide the baking tray with the bread into the preheated oven. Bake the bread for 20 minutes at 250°C (482°F).Reduce the temperature to 220°C (428°F) and bake for another 20-25 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Keep the steam in the oven for the entire baking time.
Cool Down: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.

2024.05.27 16:58 Courier_vi [SF]Chapter 1, the crash

All of a sudden I felt a great weight and pull on my body as the ship was ripped out of hyperspace, in the ensuing chaos I was able to reach the controls for the stabilizers but I was too late and got caught in a planet’s gravitational pull. The force of re-entry knocked me unconscious, but not before I saw a medium sized continent covered in what I can assume to be trees.
It must have been early morning when I woke, I was able to see a small amount of light coming through the forest that I must of crashed in. I was able to use the red emergency lighting in the cockpit to unclasp the safety harness. As I stood from the pilots chair, I noticed the astromech that was in the room with me was shoved into the corner with some damage to its connection hookup. I walk over to it thinking “fuck this is going to slow down any process of getting out of here”, I kneel next to it to ensure it still at least powers on and after messing around in the wiring and power supply it comes back on with a few chirps and whistles.
After getting the little guy powered back up I make it do the door to the rest of the ship, as I approach the door I heard something beyond the door, scraping or screaming? I pull my sidearm and hold it close to be as I try to use the manual override for the door. After a few minutes the door slides partially open, enough for me to squeeze through, once I’m through I look back at the little droid and instruct him to do what he can to get some power back to the systems in the cockpit.
I walk down the red corridor with my sidearm tucked in close, I hit a four way and the sounds are getting louder, it sounds like it’s coming from the right in the cargo hold. I get close to the corner and before I peer around I take a deep breath taking in the smell of burnt plastic and wires. I steel myself, and I slowly take the corner only to see the hallway soaked in the red emergency lights, I proceed to step out of cover moving towards the cargo bay where I think I heard the sound. As I make it to the door I noticed that it still has power, I brace myself ready for what ever lies behind the door and as it opens, there’s nothing, just the sound of what I can assume to be insects and a massive hole in the wall.
I scan the room right to left not seeing anything, just some supply crates knocked around. In the left corner I see what looks like feet, I start to move quickly to see what it is. After moving some crates and other miscellaneous stuff I see the synthetic human I missing their arm. The way it was torn off suggest whatever was in here didn’t like the taste for synth. I move toward it and I put my thumbs under its arm pits and pull it out of the pile of crates it was under. I pulled it to the center of the room and check over where the missing arm was attached and then rolled it over to check the power supply and main processor unit to ensure it’s still intact.
As I leave the cargo area I yell for the mech() to come and see if it can get the synth put back together and powered on. I go towards my quarters praying that it’s still intact and my gear isn’t damaged. I start to slow down as I approach the door and hold my hand out to see if I can feel any heat coming off the door. Once I make sure it isn’t hot I lean in close to see if I can hear anything that might have made its way inside from any of the exposed parts of the ship. Once I’m satisfied that I’m not hearing anything moving around I start to pry the door open. After about a minute the doors finally give way and slide open and lock, I enter with my gun at the ready slowly scanning the room taking everything in making sure nothing is hiding in the dark corners. I sign in relief to see that nothing made it into the room and I move towards a footlocker at the foot of my bed, once I’m there I put my hand on the palm scanner to unlock it and pull out the combat suit and rifle that was stored.
After about ten minutes of messing with the suit, it was finally on and sealed, I grabbed the helmet and it started to sync to the suit once I dawned it. I went through the sensor calibrations and finished searching the ship for any possible intruders. I made sure there were no other breaches and nothing else in the ship, from there I started to move back to the cargo bay to see if the synth is repairable or scrap. To my surprise I saw the synth moving when I entered the room, well the head at least, it seems that the only damage was the torn limb and some gashes on its body.
I kneeled down to talk to the synth for a few minutes to make sure its processor or memory unit wasn’t damaged, I inquired to see how long it would take for both it and the droid the be able to start repairs on the ships haul. I inform them that the client probably doesn’t care if we use the fabricator or any of the other supplies we were transporting and having a sealed place to sleep and possible power would be nice for the upcoming night. I looked at the droid and the synth and explained that I will be stepping away to recon our crash site and see what might be in the immediate area, hopefully there’s some no hostile life on this planet because if not it’s going to be a pain in the ass.
I start making my way to the exit hatch on the top of the ship, when I get to the bottom of the ladder I stop and stare at the hatch praying it isn’t jammed shut. I drop the rifle so it catches on its sling and start to climb, with one arm hooked around the bar I use my other to twist and open the hatch. As the hatch pushes up and over it lets in a soft morning light, and the sounds of animals and insects. I slowly pop my head out doing a slow 360 to take in the immediate surroundings and once it’s clear I pull myself out and close the hatch locking it. I start walking across the top of the ship to check on some of the haul to see how badly it was damaged, and surprisingly it’s not in bad shape, minus the giant hole in the cargo area.
As I jump down I hear something big moving in the forest to the left, and as I start to head that direction I hear what sounds to be a scream from a human to the right. I pivot and bring my gun to the ready and start moving towards the screams, hoping that what ever I’m walking away from doesn’t decide to follow the screams also.
About 15 minutes into the trek I notice what looks to be a road of some kind, I bring my rifle to a low ready and slowly move towards the tree line, and as I make it to a spot behind a tree I see a carriage surrounded by some type of creatures and several dead body’s. I make a quick decision and hope I don’t regret it later. I slowly step out and I ask if everything is okay, and before I’m able to even finish they turn and look at me with a feral look in their eyes. With that crazed look they start to charge, I quickly bring my rifle up and aim for the closest one and with the bark of the rifle report they stopped only for a moment, then some harsh sort of cry came out of them all with their swords raised and started to charge again. I was able to send three more down range and take two more out with the last shot going wide, leaving just one left but it was far too close to get an accurate shot off. Dropping my rifle the sling catches it and I raise my right arm to deflect the downward blow, while using my left and to grab the kbar and thrust it into its gut, turning as it half way in.
After sheathing my kbar I decided to check the body’s to see what useful information I can gather. Other then some gold coins and three swords, there was nothing useful, after looking over one of the swords i decided it might be best to have one to be on the safe side, even though it was technically a short sword anything longer then a combat knife will be useful it seems. After picking up the sword I start to move to what ever the creatures had killed before I had gotten there, I stop in shock for a moment when I notice that the animals that must have been pulling the carriage are horses. I slowly turn to look at the body’s near the carriage only to notice the very human like features but also animal like features like some type of hybrid. The first one seems to be covered in hair all around top to bottom, I kneel down to roll it onto its back. The face has the same features of a dog, but one that is heavily scared and appears to have fought a lot of battles. I start going through its cloths looking for anything that could possibly lead me to some sort of settlement or town, anything really, but once again, nothing except some silver coins. I move towards the carriage again, moving a little more quietly so if anything is still alive inside I won’t be caught off guard.
I slowly put my hand on the handle and take a deep breath as I turn it and open the door, inside I see two kids in the corner holding each other. I slowly start to speaking hoping that one of them will try to talk and not just scream in fear. As I look into both of their eyes I can see copious amount of fear, but also relief. One of them finally start to speak and of course it’s not the same language, but something does feel familiar about it. After several minutes of attempting to communicate to each other the rudimentary AI inside the helmet finally worked out the meaning of most words being spoke. After several minutes I was finally able to figure out what town they were from and where they were going, luckily the town wasn’t too far only a couple of clicks, but it’s in the direction of what ever was big enough to knock down trees.

Braving the elements to finally meet up
We woke after tormented dreams, pounds of meat in our guts doing us no favours. We luxuriously lounged under the pattering of rain in the morning as we slowly roused ourselves. For the price of the place we were going to take our time leaving. Our host was meeting us for breakfast at 9, so we couldn't stay in bed forever.
Breakfast was tradition Japanese, rice, egg, fish, pickles. Some of the flavours are too intense for me in the morning, the pickled plum and roe were both too much for me. I enjoy more mellow flavours in the morning, maybe a bit bland if it's before noon. We graciously thanked our host for having us and he promised a lower rate should we decide to come again. Even better.
We had originally planned to take the train as the forecast called for solid rain and wind, and we couldn't move our plans on either day. However, the forecast here being as reliable as an old oven, the rain was revised to light and intermittent throughout the afternoon. I was nervous heading into rougher weather in the open, but we decided it would be okay and that we could always hop on the train later if need be. We still have that luxury, but soon we will be taking a route far from trains and repair shops. That makes me very nervous.
Our host wished us luck with the weather and we set off to the northeast, to Takikawa. Luckily the wind was from the southeast and south, which made the prospect feel a little better. Getting out of Sapporo was a bit of a slog, the wind whipping around buildings in every which way, buffeting us as s we tried to navigate the streets. A headwind is hard but a variable crosswind causes havoc on our balancing muscles. I could feel the tightness in my back starting to ramp up as we finally reached the city limits.
Out in the open my anxiety really started to take off. I knew it was mostly the huge amount of food I ate the night before causing my guts grief, but everything I grew up with said that it was a bad idea to be out in the open with weather this unstable. The clouds roiled overhead, layers moving quickly past each other and dark clouds forming nearby. The wind was strong and gusting over the open fields and we had little cover from it. When I was young this was the last place you wanted to be if a storm might be coming.
Nevertheless, the weather was proving to be better than we expected. The rain wasn't really materializing, or we were staying ahead of a slow moving system. It seemed the rain was just behind us and if we could keep up a good pace that maybe we would be okay. More good luck was a northeasterly road that had a windscreen blocking the crosswind for nearly 20km. Once we could turn North, we had a tailwind and could make very fast speeds to make up for the difficult crosswind.
We needed to stop for lunch before long and found a roadside ramen shop by the highway near tobetsu. The food was nourishing and hot which was lovely. We started emailing some bike shops in Asahikawa to try and find bicycle boxes in this time, hopefully a few will have some so that we have something to get home with. We've seen lots in shops along the way and Asahikawa has an unusual amount of bicycle shops for its size, so it's a good bet I think.
While we were eating, the rain caught up with us, fat droplets drenching us as we hurredly got our rain gear on. We biked fast in the hopes we could outpace the rain, and whether that was true or we were just lucky, we seemed to get out the rain rather quickly. On the highway close to the foothills of a mountain range there wasn't much wind, so we kept going on that path. After a few hours the rain did catch up with us and soon we were just wet in the rain.
It didn't last forever but it was enough to make us very soggy. We landed up on a narrow road on a wide river that led us right to Takikawa, so at least we didn't have to think very hard while we tired out from the long bike in tough weather. At least it wasn't very cold!
Arriving in Takikawa, we heard a collosal roaring sound south of the city that sounded like a rocket engine ingniting that woke me from my biking daze. I thought the levee broke and we were going to drown! Maybe this was just how they signal 5pm. It wouldn't surprise me, we passed somewhere in Hokkaido that also did the 5pm air raid siren. Ridiculous. Takikawa is a bit of a rougher looking town, a lot of the buildings look pretty run down. I'm sure it's a lot nicer when it's not as bleak as it was today. It's hard to see the nice side of a place when it's half dark at 3pm and you've forgotten what dry feels like.
After a snack at a Korean place and a bit of a rest, we were ready to go see our hosts for the night, a pair of elder travelers we met on our very first day of riding. I've been in contact with them since then! Ako and Yoshino have insisted we come to their house for dinner and to sleep and indeed we have come, some 3000km to their place. And what's more they were hosting friends for a birthday and wanted us to join in on the fun! Amazing. We found their house, a cute place with a nice garden and went in, gifts in hand. Our gifts were graciously accepted by our very excited hosts and we found huge trays of sushi already laid out.
We sat and enjoyed sushi and asparagus and cheese and a delightful treat that was raisins in butter on ice. Aside from the raisin butter, we assured our concerned table mates that not only had we had lots of this food, but that it's not uncommon in Canada. There was some debate about whether Canada had asparagus, though. We traded pictures of ski trips, art we've made, flowers. Bryce and I stumbled through trying to summarize our jobs in a way that the translator could handle and would make sense at the end.
I used a lot of my Japanese! Not all of it worked, but it was okay and got some compliments. My teacher would be very proud that we did a home stay. The food was delicious, especially the melon that was served for dessert. I'm sure it wasn't cheap, I've seen those particular melons go for a lot of money. Everyone was very nice and patient with us and I think the two of us were good entertainment for a birthday. When they heard it was my birthday recently, we burst into singing happy birthday, which I guess is done here too! Very cute.
After dinner, our hosts opened up some sliding doors to where we would be sleeping, some futons in a room that just fit us. The beds are comfortable and will do just fine. We don't have too long to ride tomorrow, so we should be able to leave when we like. I'm excited to see Ako's garden tomorrow!

2024.05.27 15:40 bendoVa83 BHX queues are not as bad as you think

I flew on Saturday which was first day of half term. I was at the airport for 1:30pm. It was very busy but queues were constantly moving. If you can spare a fiver per person and it’s not sold out for your day of your travel, book the security fast track for peace of mind. From bag drop to airport lounge, it was a little over 10 mins for us with the fast track. The security area is now finished so queues will ease going forward. You literally drop your bags in the tray, walk through the scanner and that’s it. No taking electronics out etc etc. if you don’t get fast track, I have friends who travelled recently and said it took them around 20 mins. Longest I reckon you’ll wait now is 40 mins based on what I saw but it isn’t as bad as you actually think. Press making it sound worse in my opinion.

2024.05.27 14:22 Angel466 [Bob the hobo] A Celestial Wars Spin-Off Part 1014

PART ONE THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN
[Previous Chapter] [The Beginning] [Patreon+2]
Sunday
Lucas was still thinking about the gun issue after he’d loaded all his purchases into the car. Technically, he could go home and deal with this tomorrow, but once he was back at work, there’d be little time to breathe, let alone side ventures to the store (especially when he was supposed to have his final fitting on his suits at some point, though God knew when that was going to happen). Besides, Levi and Austin could be called out as early as tonight, which made tomorrow too late. Something needed to be sorted, and he needed to do it now.
So, on his way back, he swung into The Home Depot on 23rd Street (he only had to park two buildings away, which was a big plus for Sunday shopping!) and searched their aisles for viable gun safes. He’d already been leaning towards a biometric safe with a backup key lock over a combination lock for both speed and safety. Still, he’d always assumed either option would involve the traditional style safe where his gun would be laying on its side next to his magazines.
As it turned out, while he perused his options, he found something infinitely better. A narrow, upright lockbox that looked like a side-on-wall letterbox with four numbered buttons on the top. From what he read in the manual, each number correlated to a specific person, and that person then had three seconds to place their thumb on the scanner to unlock the safe.
But that wasn’t even the best part. The gun safe opened by releasing the door from the top to fall out on a forty-five-degree angle like an opening laundry chute, presenting the gun’s grip ready to grab and go. Under the muzzle was space for two spare magazines. The foam inserts would comfortably fit his Glock 19, but his Glock 42 was a smaller gun, and he didn’t like the idea of it rattling inside the padded cradle.
He lifted his right knee and unholstered the smaller weapon, but just as he was about to slide it into the safe to see its fit for himself, someone called out, “Ahhh, excuse me?” from somewhere behind him.
Lucas turned, maintaining control of the weapon and pointing it at the ground beside his right foot. “Yes?”
The man, who was probably around Lucas’s age, though much thinner in comparison, held up his hands apologetically. “Do you have a carry permit? I’m sorry, but I have to ask.”
“So to speak.” He made a very small movement with his left hand, indicating he was about to move in the direction of his pocket before continuing the motion to retrieve his bifold. As soon as he revealed the gold NYPD shield within, the man immediately relaxed.
“Sorry. People brandishing weapons…”
“I know. It’s okay, and I’m sorry if I scared anyone. I just needed to see if the safe could hold my backup weapon as well as my primary one. I’ll be taking at least one of these today. Maybe two if the fit works.”
The guy might not have been much to look at, but he definitely knew his guns. “Your primary’s a Glock Seventeen, right?”
“Nineteen, actually, but how’d you know?”
“People tend to stick with their preferred brands. Glock, Smith and Wesson. Heckler and Koch. SIG Sauer. It’s like motorbike brands. You’ll never see a Suzuki rider on a Yamaha unless he’s dying and being transported to the hospital. Don’t ask either of them what they think of a Hog. Though I would’ve thought someone with your size hands would need a seventeen for the better fit.”
“Nineteen’s plenty and my fiancé has no problem pulling the trigger when we’re at the range.”
If anything, he seemed to get more animated. “But that’s my point. She’d be better suited to the nineteen because her hands are smaller.”
Lucas was beginning to see a pattern here, and he couldn’t decide if he wanted to laugh or be pissed off. “Can we just see if it fits in the safe, and if it does, I’ll buy two and get out of your hair.” Before I punch you.
“Actually, that model safe comes with a smaller interior variety. It’s over here.”
Lucas slid his badge into the neck of his shirt so that no one else would be freaked out that he was carrying a gun in plain view. Then he picked up a boxed gun safe in his free hand and trailed after the guy.
“It looks the same size from the outside,” Lucas said, comparing the two.
“Yes,” the guy agreed. “That’s intentional. If you start having boxes of different sizes close to each other, people will target the bigger one for the better gun.”
“I thought these had an insane safety rating.”
“They do, don’t get me wrong. I’m not talking about the kind of thief who’ll sit in your house until they figure out how to crack your safe. I’m talking about the kind who’ll rip the whole safe off the wall and break into it later. Speaking of which, do you have anyone to install it? These have tricky specifics.”
“My fiancé was a construction worker for years, so yes, I should be good on that score.”
The guy winced before doing a patronising nod. “Well, the instructions are simple enough to follow, so if she stuck with the job long enough, she should be able to follow the building jargon.”
“He,” Lucas corrected, taking offence that the guy had effectively dismissed women as incapable of being construction workers and wanting to knock him off his proverbial high horse. After all, if he hated the idea of women in that field, the top of his head should explode at the thought of Lucas and Boyd as a couple.
Just as he’d thought, the guy’s friendly attitude vanished, and his lip curled in disgust as he recoiled.
“Remember the badge and make smart choices,” Lucas warned.
The smile was more of a hateful grimace. “Will that be all, sir?” he practically sneered.
“Yes, I’m good now. Run along and take your homophobic, chauvinistic attitude somewhere else; thank you.” Deliberately keeping his weapon low and behind his back, Lucas drew a deep breath and straightened to his full six-foot height, tensing his muscles in a clear display of intimidation. “Now would be good.”
The guy disappeared in seconds, leaving Lucas to snort and drop to one knee, holstering his weapon. He straightened up, placed the first box on top of the second, and carried both towards the front of the store. He kept his badge on his collar in case of any blowback from his interaction.
Sure enough… “Detective,” a woman’s voice called out.
Lucas stopped with a sigh and turned to face the woman with a large security guard behind her. “Yes?”
“There has been a complaint—”
“Let me stop you right there,” he interrupted, and surprisingly, she paused. “Your guy that served me knows his stuff. I’m not going to belittle him by saying he doesn’t. But he was the one who implied women couldn’t do construction work and then flipped out when he found out my construction-working fiancé was a man. I cut off whatever derogatory slur he had percolating in his homophobic head by reminding him I’m also an NYPD detective capable of arresting him if he chose to act on his hate. I’m sure your store has a policy against that sort of discrimination, and I’m not holding his behaviour against you or this store.”
Lucas tapped his badge. “You can see my badge number here, or I can give you my card. But if you check your security feeds, you’ll see I wasn’t the aggressor. I was here to buy two gun safes, and with the help of your clerk, I now have them, which was why I was leaving. Is that alright?”
“Would you mind if I take a photo of your badge number and write down your name and phone number to add to the incident report?” She pulled out her phone but waited for him to nod.
“Go right ahead. It’s no secret.” He gave her his name and phone number.
“And you’re off duty at the moment, correct?”
“Yes. That’s why I only have my backup weapon with me. And again, as you’ll see in the footage, I only had it out to find the right sized gun safe for it. It was never pointed at anything but the ground and the gun safe, and as soon as the sizing was done, I re-holstered it.”
The manager took the photo and wrote down Lucas’ name and number. She then looked over the two gun safes in his hands. “Getting the jump on the new legislation, Detective?”
Lucas frowned. “Sorry?”
“I heard on the grapevine they’re going to start pushing hard for gun safes to be mandatory for all weapons in New York City.”
If anything, that made Lucas smile. “It’ll certainly make my job a lot easier if they did, but no, I hadn’t heard about that. My three-year-old niece is going to be staying with me from time to time while my brother’s at work, and I’m not having loaded weapons anywhere near that precious little girl.”
“Good idea. I always thought it was crazy to be allowed to store a loaded gun in your bedside drawer.”
Lucas didn’t quite go that far in his beliefs but to each their own. “Is that all, ma’am?”
The manager snorted and smiled in amusement. “If I didn’t think you were a cop before…”
As lovely as the manager was being under the circumstances, Lucas didn’t have time for the chitchat. “I’m sorry, but I have to get these home and installed and am due elsewhere this afternoon. I have no idea when my niece will be coming to stay, and if it’s tonight, these need to be in and ready to go.”
“Thanks again for your understanding, detective.”
“No worries.”

2024.05.27 09:31 Wooden-Anybody6807 Visited T Sharp & Co today

Finally made it to T Sharp & Co while visiting Perth this week. What a lovely store, with kind sales attendants and hundreds of pens laid out like jewellery on little sliding trays. The attendants quickly offered for me to hold and dip write any pen that I would like. It was a small store but the attendants clearly knew their pens, reaching quickly for exactly the right model as requested. Unfortunately their prices are ~50% more than Pulp Addiction or Pen City, but it was excellent to try some pens out in real life.
