2024.05.16 05:40 Master-Pay3300 Help regarding burning ISO on DVDs
So, I have a PS2 since 2005 and I think its hard-modded since i used to buy games from a guy who burned them on DVDs. I thought I'd take a crack at it, so i just assumed you download the ISO from any ROM sites, burn it onto a DVD and it should run but I'm obviously here cause it didn't work. Any idea why / or any steps that I'm missing ? I checked the files of a game on a DVD that works and it consists of various .xff files do they have something to do with it ? Thank you for any input :)
(I know this is ethically wrong in a manner, but it sparks my curiosity to see limits broken ).

Learned to mod psx systems just to play all the imports he would bring back. I truthfully just learned there was an English version of this in Europe(Kurushi Final). This and devil dice I can play for hours. Still have my PSP and imports of them for it. I'll never let them go. Also bombastic on PS2. I’m new to PS2 modding and recently discovered the MX4SIO SD memory card. I’m interested in setting it up to boot games off the SD card for my slim PS2. However, all the tutorials I’ve found are a couple of years old, and many of the links are no longer working.
Could anyone please provide me with a recent, up-to-date tutorial or guide on how to set up the MX4SIO SD memory card? Also is there a list of compatible micro SD cards that work best? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Is there any particular reason for the lack of item randomizers in Dragon Quest as a whole?
I've been working with an item randomizer for DQ8 a couple of years ago (using the base coding from playinful), but couldn't really get the cutscenes to work. The game kept crashing over and over again in various cutscenes. Sometimes after entering Farebury, sometimes when encountering the Jessica cutscene on top of Alexandrias Tower. Furthest I've gotten was on the boat to the kraken fight. No matter if it's ps2 or pc modding.
Now I've been trying to look into an item randomizer for DQ11 S, which could really be interesting, as I've already played through this game several times. But nowhere near the typical spots to find basic setups (Nexus, GitHub, etc.) are even signs of someone trying to develop such a randomizer. Even older games don't really have working equivalents.
So I'm wondering. Is it just such an uninteresting topic to the player base to add randomized items and instead focusing on textures and QoL stuff like skipping forging, alchemy, etc. or adding topless female character models, or is it just extremely difficult to get started with such a coding adventure?
It seems to be working for DQ1 and 2 to have good, balanced and most importantly working randomizers. But for every game after that its hard to even find someone that temporarily worked on it.

Hey y'all, I need some help. I have been playing YFM lately and I have been trying to research different ways I can obtain all the cards on the game. I am playing the PS1 disc game on my PS2. I have seen videos on how you can disc swap with the Japanese version to get cards, videos on using a pocketstation, and videos on using a modded ps2 to edit your save files on your memory card to be able to obtain all the cards. I guess I would like to hear what other people have done to obtain all the cards if they have and give me more information how I can do this myself. I have went ahead and bought a pocketstation and a Japanese copy of the ps1 game. Please help if you can.

Hey all. Sims enjoyer since TS2 released on the PS2, eventually getting TS3 on the Xbox 360, and then getting it again on PC around 2015, once I had one capable enough. I've been stuck on TS3 ever since (it's my favorite).
However, limited as it was, I also have a strong adoration for TS2 on PS2. I'd like to give the full-bore PC version a proper try now. Thing is, I've had some limited interaction with the PC version before, on other friends' PCs and such, and one thing bugged me about it. It seems to lack a smooth, complete day/night transition, instead abruptly switching between day/night modes at 6am and 6pm respectively.
I know, it's a nitpick, but is there a mod or something that smoothens this out? Even the aforementioned PS2 version pulls off a damn-good day/night transition. Google searches about this lead me only to posts about people asking to lengthen daylight hours and things like that, but nothing about the visual transition itself.

Gran Turismo 4 came out for PlayStation 2 back in 2004 and was one of the few racing titles from its era that help put the genre itself on the map during its time period. The forth main installment of Gran Turismo had everything a hardcore racing fan could ask for in a video game including a vast collection of cars from different eras along with a rewarding career mode and various race tracks to choose from. Gran Turismo 4 was also one of the few PS2 games that had 1080i display which was impressive to see in a video game back in the mid-2000’s. The amount of content featured in Gran Turismo 4 is the main reason why its replay value is so high especially because of all of the unlockable cars and licenses that players had to work for within the game. Gran Turismo 4 had over 700 cars with more than 50 race tracks. Gran Turismo 4 had cars from just about every manufacturer you could think of like Aston Martin, BMW, Bentley, Buick, Honda, etc. Gran Turismo 4 ended up becoming a massive commercial success similar to its ’01 predecessor GT3 by reaching more than 11 million copies sold worldwide on the PS2. I know that pal games play at 25/50 fps in pal regions but I have a modded ps2 and was looking to play ico on the pal version because its the more complete version. It has settings for 60hz but will it play at 30 fps? And will any other games with a 60hz setting do the same?

Fala rapazeada, estou a algum tempo querendo montar meu primeiro pc pois desde novo sempre tive consoles como ps2, xbox 360 e ps4, atualmente tenho um PS5, e tenho sentido que fico muito preso com o console, nao tenho a possibilidade de usar mods e jogos que sempre joguei como fifa (atual FC 24) quem fazem com que o jogo fique mais imersivo, e isso tem me deixado meio frustrado. Além do fifa, os jogos que curto e/ou pretendo jogar são jogos single player e tal…o grande problema nisso tudo é: eu nao sei nada sobre informática, peças e coisas do tipo (o motivo de eu ter postergado por tanto tempo a montagem de um pc), gostaria de dicas/sugestões, por onde devo começar, quais peças devo ou não comprar e o que eu, em hipótese alguma devo fazer.

Hi. Noob here. Got a PS Vita 1001 model with a 32gb vita memory stick. I’m literally plugging it up to charge it for a few while going to run errands. When I return I plan on modding it so I can play some classic psp games. I do not have a vita to SD card.
Any advice to give this noob? I do have experience in modding PSP, Wii, and getting parts for my PS2. Most of my experience is software modding.

I don't own a PS console but will eventually get a PS5 down the line as I like to get every machine from each generation, but I'm considering a PS3 as well because of back-compat with PS2 because of how easy it is to mod, which seemed like a fun project.
My questions are:
Is the PS3 the ultimate way to experience PS2 titles on Sony hardware (excluding remakes and remasters for the PS4/5 generations)?
And, are there even many great games from the PS3 generation (not just exclusives but in general) that haven't been ported over to this gen or last gen? The main one for me would be MGS4 I think, but other than that I'm not aware of any big titles that can ONLY be played on PS3/360.
Anyways, thanks y'all and hope to hear your thoughts on whether I should go for one or not :)

Can anyone tell me the absolute best mod for underground 2. I’ve looked online everywhere, YouTube etc. there are so many.
But is there a king of the mods. As in if anyone has underground 2 this is the mod they must have!
I’m seeing so many. HD texture packs. Lighting packs. Car mods. Redux mods, remix mods. Where do I start 🤷♂️
