🔗Killer Instinct Lumix Speedring Crossbow Scope: Improved Targeting for Hunting

https://preview.redd.it/pejxzkurea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=39d69d95ea8bc434d5a7c66d99ba114b2ae59a45
Using the Killer Instinct MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope has been quite an experience. The scope has made hunting much more enjoyable for me, thanks to its amazing abilities to lock onto and track moving targets from vast distances.
One of the features that really stood out is the durability of the metal case. This thing has a real tank-like feel to it, resisting impacts and harsh weather as if it was made for it. The spring-loaded covers on the lenses also proved to be quite reliable, keeping the lenses safe and scratchless until I was ready to hunt.
The built-in Speed Ring is another aspect of the scope that has impressed me. Making adjustments for my crossbow's speed has been a breeze, and the illuminated reticle is a big help when it comes to sighting in low-light conditions. I particularly appreciate the contrast the red/blue illumination provides.
However, there was one downside that I found a little disturbing. The scope came in a condition that made it apparent that someone had used it before. I was not happy with this fact, especially considering I had paid for a brand new product.
Overall, the MSCKI-1020 Lumix Speedring 1.5 to 5 x 32 IR-E Crossbow Scope is a product that I would recommend, even with its minor fault. It certainly helped me become a better hunter, and it would do the same for anyone looking to enhance their hunting experience.

🔗Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Black Ir-E Crossbow Scope with LED Illumination

https://preview.redd.it/xo2p4cbsea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7dc8d4a6f97ab8271097530a44fb938137854f3f

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. This black 1021 model was a great addition to my hunting gear, providing exceptional clarity thanks to its multicoated optics and 1-inch mono tube construction. The fast focus eyepiece is a game-changer, allowing me to quickly adjust my sight even when on the move.
One feature that stood out was the illuminated cross-hair reticle, which came in both blue and red. It was perfect for low-light situations, making it easier for me to spot my target. I appreciated the adjustment click value of 0.5 inches at 100 yards, as it gave me accurate and consistent shot adjustments.
However, there were a few downsides to this otherwise great scope. The exit pupil was smaller than I would have liked, making it a bit more challenging to see the cross-hair reticle at times. Additionally, the scope's weight was lighter than expected, which might not have been ideal for everyone.
Overall, I'm happy with my experience using the Killer Instinct Lumix 4x32 Ir-E Crossbow Scope. It's a quality product with some small drawbacks, but its pros certainly outweigh the cons. If you're in the market for a reliable crossbow scope, this one is definitely worth considering.

🔗High-Quality 25-75x70 Spotting Scope with Phone Adapter

In my pursuit of a new spotting scope that could enhance my wildlife viewing and target shooting experiences, I stumbled upon the SVBONY SV28 Spotting Scopes. From the moment I opened the package, I was impressed by its sleek exterior and sturdy construction.
One feature that stood out to me was its range of magnification capabilities - the SV28 allowed me to adjust the magnification according to my target distance, providing crystal clear image quality. The lens was exceptionally sharp, making it perfect for both target shooting and observing nature. Another aspect I appreciated was the ease of focus adjustment, ensuring that every detail was visible no matter the distance.
However, I have to say that the tripod that came with the unit seemed a bit lackluster compared to my usual tripod. I ended up using my own sturdier tripod, but it was still nice to have the option included in the package. Additionally, while the phone adapter was a nice addition, I felt it could have been more user-friendly.
Overall, the SVBONY SV28 Spotting Scopes exceeded my expectations, offering outstanding clarity and exceptional value for its price. Though there were a few minor quibbles, I would definitely recommend it to others in search of a reliable, affordable spotting scope for their outdoor adventures.

Purging allows for better waterproofing/fogging, making sure your scope doesn't fog up when you switch environments.
Overall, it's a joy to use this spotting scope. It's not just about viewing in high detail but also the ease it offers in using it. You won't be disappointed with its performance and features.

What are the key features of a 22 scope?

  • Adjustable objective lens for focus and clarity
  • Variable or fixed magnification options
  • Rugged construction for durability and weather resistance
  • Parallax correction for accurate long-range shooting
  • Low-power options for close-range shooting and hunting

What is the best 22 scope for hunting?

The best 22 scope for hunting will depend on your specific needs and preferences. Factors to consider include the scope's magnification range, reticle type, and overall durability and weather resistance. In general, a 22 scope with variable magnification and a reliable reticle such as the Mil-Dot or Duplex is a popular choice among hunters.

What is the best 22 scope for target shooting?

When it comes to target shooting, a fixed-power 22 scope with a higher magnification range (such as 4X or 6X) can be a great choice. This allows for increased accuracy and precision at extended distances. Additionally, a scope with a mil-dot or BDC reticle can be helpful for making accurate distance calculations.

How much does a good 22 scope cost?

The cost of a 22 scope can vary depending on the brand, features, and quality of the scope. On average, a good quality 22 scope can range from $200 to $500. However, there are affordable options available for those on a budget, as well as more expensive models for serious hunters and shooters.

Can I use a 22 scope with other types of rifles?

While a 22 scope is designed for use with. 22 rimfire rifles, it can potentially be adapted for use with other rifle types by changing the mounting system or installing an appropriate adapter. However, this may not always provide the best performance or accuracy, so it is generally recommended to use a scope specifically designed for the rifle you are using.

What are the most popular brands of 22 scopes?

  • Leupold
  • Nikon
  • Vortex Optics
  • Bushnell
  • Burris

2024.05.29 05:46 Thelittlehamstar (spoilers) I just finished ashlands <3

I want to start by saying that i enjoyed here, i enjoyed all the little things to get here. I've been playing since the boss was yagluth. I have 351 hrs (i know it's not much) but just in case ppl think i speed trough this and then complained ahha.
Now first with the good things:>! I LOVED the entire aesthetic, the music, the new items , the new food and materials that ashland brought, i loved the introduction to ashlands that was literally very fucking scary ,the new customization of weapons with elements, not only for how variated it makes the gameplay but how cool it looks as exhibition pieces. THE NEW MONSTERS WERE AMAZINGLY COOL, from their mechanics to their designs, they were so scary and unsettling, the story was so chilling and had me hyped to search for the next rune (also pls make this spanw maybe close to strategic points i had to lose myself in a few islands to find them all) . I LOVE how now the differnet stars in monsters look very different than i remember, idk if the colors were brightened or they shine more but i was way easier to identify troublesome mobs this time. Loved the addition of the grapes as a new food source to plant at home, not only because it looked amazing but because it was a cool thing to have a passive farming part of your home. !< i suppose i must continue with the downsides, though it's not much really i still enjoyed myself through and through. First of all i feel the cultists are still somehow randomly placed there, i wish perhaps the caves gave more or straight up they had the eggs so i had more incentive to go raid them. Some items like the staff of fracturing and the dundr were interesting but not really that useful in the end with a few exceptions ( love exploding morgens) and you could say that yeah that's the point you have to have all the options but it feels a bit disappointing when you start cooking up numbers. I think the Dundr is the weapon i loved the most but i wish i had something extra, perhaps an armor to go with that hexmagic route that allows you to reload faster or reload while running so you can get close, shot and run and then use the staff of protection and so. I would happily give away the usage of all of the other staffs for such a combination and the either regen. In the end my partner who played with a meele warrior did way more than me with magic and that did not feel such a way during mistland and i don't know if it was my fault or what, but it felt more balanced on mistlands than ashland for some reason. The flametal ores... God that was so annoying to farm and then they give you all of it mostly in castles so it feels a bit unnecessary? I would much more prefer to siege the fortress for the material than having to fend off charred assholes throwing rocks at me that make me fall to the lava. Not to mention the spawn of things was a bit insane, sometimes there was no creatures for several minutes then we turned around and bam 3 morgens 2 green dogs (i forgot their names) of 1 star following us and a bunch of marksman coming from the lava. It was overwhelming at times.
Quality of life => please have tabs for the different recipes/types of recipes or at least organize them from newest to oldest because having to search for it one by one it's quite annoying when you are in a hurry to get back to battle. X_X
And this is mostly cosmetic issues but i feel the red robes are way cooler than the blue of ashlands?, but i do love the black void with the red eyes , maybe there should be an item that the clothing seller than give me as a final quest for her chests that gives me the possibility to transmog so i chose what i am wearing ? but keeps my stats??. That green cape was horrendous too i didn't feel powerful at all QWQ. The jutes, please for the love of god let me make red jute things like the blue ones and vice versa and maybe let me die threads to make more and maybe different colors?, banners get a bit repetitive after a while. But this is a nothing burger honestly i just really had SOOO much fun with the ashwood decorations i usually hate decorating and building in games but this time OH GOD i went crazy and i had so much fun <3 . Also many items are not able to be exhibited like the bloodstones, jade and even metals i feel it would be cute if we could do that since i could make a metal ore and refined metal exhibition to decorate the forge. On that same note please make the item stands a bit tintier like the ones that go into the table because some items like the circlet or knives look so weird with the big slav of wood behind. same with some items just lying flat like the seal or the swamp key , maybe give the option for them to stand up?. And as a last request that again is literally non relevant PLEASE GIVE US FLOWERS or decorative plants, hedges and bushes. i would kill to have such a thing in game. PLEASE LET US PLANT BERRY BUSHES AS WELL ! i dont care if they take forever to spawn berries but please it's being so annoying since day 1. Also i loved the pots, can we please find a way to paint them or add flowers to them???
Anyway it was just a random rant a smy first post here. Istill 100% love and recommend the game 10/10 would start again when the next biome comes home. Amazing job as always team i love this game <3
red + black feathers COOL
please i just want to have collectibles...
Pls valehim let me put the spice rack in here i need it for magic/witch reasons
Also please let me sleep in the same bed as my husband, how are we supposed to honor odin if we dont give him a son lmao.
pls let me paint the pots PLEASE
my attempt to put flowers outside lmao
I wish the Jute was red on the top as well QWQ!

2024.05.29 05:46 freeburgs1235 Girl I met last August and went on a couple of dates with said she wanted to be friends back in January. We hang out every week just us two at my place and I think I should make a move. Should I keep things platonic or be open with her?

So, this has been going on for a while now. I met this amazing girl back in August of 2023 in a university club. I didn’t realized I had feelings for her until late October and I ended up asking her out in December once I was able to build up my courage. She enthusiastically agreed to go out and our first date was super fun. We went to the bowling alley where she destroyed me in every arcade game but I got a new pb in bowling that day.
Afterwards we went and ate at a restaurant that was coincidentally both our favorite restaurant. We talked there until the restaurant had to close, I offered to teach her to oil paint, she assumed that I meant right then and there at my place but I said it was getting a little late and we should probably call it a night. She looked a little bummed I won’t like, but I told her we could paint next time.
So we did exactly that, our next date was on our campus, I had baked us some cookies and made us some hot cocoa from scratch. We painted for a long time, hers was a lot better than mine… but we had a great time. Then the time came to end the night and she told me she had a wonderful time and thought I was an amazing guy but said something like “I thought about it over the break, and I don’t think I can date right now, but I would love to still be your friend” I took it as best as I could and told her it was ok and we both headed home.
She sent me a text as soon as I got home saying how she couldn’t get the right words out then in person so she wanted to clarify some things. She said “I’m just not interested in dating anyone right now, period.” This really baffled me at the time and it made me feel like I was the issue.
In the past, I’ve been lead on by someone so they could use me for emotional comfort. This girl and I actually talked about our past relationships on our first date. I learned that she had 2 exes but I wasn’t aware at the time at how recently she had broken up with her ex. But her and I bonded over being manipulated by our past partners and talking about our ideal relationship.
Anyways, I truly do enjoy her as a friend. So I wanted to respect her wishes and I didn’t ask her out again. The most I did was during Valentine’s Day I carved her a little charm to take with her on a long trip for one of her other clubs. She loved it a lot, I planned on just giving it to her and leaving but every time I tried to get up she’d insist we keep talking, so we did for a few more hours until she had to go to a meeting.
My feelings got the better of me and I sent her a long text describing how much I respected her and felt like maybe I was the issue to why things didn’t work out. I really regret sending this, but she was very respectful and replied with her saying that it absolutely wasn’t my fault and it’s something with her that she did not go into detail with.
Fast foward a bit, here we are in summer. We’ve only grown closer and she’s told me more about her exes over time. I never prodded her for this info, it usually just naturally came up in conversation. Turns out she broke up with her ex only a few months before we went out for the first time. This was because he was extremely awkward with her family and really wanted nothing to do with them. He embarrassed her in front of her whole family and we was absolutely way too attached to her.
Now, we have been hanging out together every week. We would normally hang out with other members of our club but now its just her and I. She comes over and brings me ingredients to cook with and I cook for the both of us. Afterwards we relax on the couch and watch some shows together. We get really close, the tension is really thick but I don't want to accidentally read the wrong signals and make a move.
The last time she was over was last Saturday. My dog jumped up between us on the couch as we were watching JoJo. I wrapped my arm around my dog but as I was doing so i nearly wrapped my arm around her too, it felt so natural but I realized what I was doing and I readjusted my arm so it was just around my dog. Later we end up leaning against each other's shoulders, I REALLY wanted to wrap my arm around her or just straight up ask her if it was ok if I held her but I just don't know.
Also, last time she came over, she surprised me with cheesecake that she had baked herself. She made little mini cakes for my entire household. She teased she was making them beforehand but I had no idea they were for me and my family.
There are plenty of other scenarios where the tension between us has been high, but I've already been kinda ranting so I don't want to go into the nitty gritty. I will edit the post if there's need for the smaller things.
Something I have forgotten to mention is that we have a lot of mutual friends in our club, as a matter of fact I am the new President of the club and she is the Vice President. Whenever we hang out with just us two, we don't really tell our other friends about it. Nobody in our close friend group of the club knows we went out before or that we hang out often now. I'm not sure if I should take anything from this, I know she tells her parents and some of her friends about me. I remember going to her house for the first time to help her unload some things along with a few other of the club members and she introduced everyone to her mom and when she got to me she said "You already know this guy" even though I have not met her mother before.
I could just be completely delusional, maybe she's not dropping any hints. If thats the case I am perfectly content with her and I hanging out, the last thing I want is to lose such a great friend I've made. I don't want her to feel pressured into dating again, the real reason as to why she isn't interested in dating frankly isn't my business. I can narrow it down to a few things all of which are pretty understandable. Such as her working 2 jobs while being in like 3 clubs and having to deal with school on top of that. I am just really grateful she's here.
So TL;DR, Girl I went out with a few months ago said she wasn't interested in dating, we hang out a lot more now and I feel like I should make a move to see if that's changed or not but I don't know how to.

2024.05.29 05:45 paninee Super Cold Office Air Conditioning VS Global/Local Warming Power Cuts

I had to go out in the afternoon for some work, and realized how scalding hot the outdoors are. On one side I'm thankful that my white collar work allows me to sit in AC, OTOH, I felt like I was contributing to it.
  1. For every 100MJ of cooling done inside, ~130-150MJ (or more for inefficient ACs) of heating is done to the outside. Now if people in offices raised the temperatures of the AC thermostat, they'd be able to reduce this impact substantially.
  2. In large companies, the thermostat is often set really low, perhaps because the people in power wear suits, (when the ambient temperature in places like Delhi/Gurgaon is over 40 deg C), and then they set the temperatures to like under 20C.
  3. This is in addition to the fact that glass walled buildings in a weather like ours are a horrible idea, which further increases cooling costs. The glass they use is supposedly UV reflective, but it doesn't feel like the insides are any cooler (anecdotal, a neighbouring building is under construction, and doesn't have working AC, and the temperatures there are scalding as well, much higher than if they'd be made of cement).
Clearly office architecture / air conditioning contributes towards local warming (slightly towards global warming as well). We should at least try to pluck the low hanging fruit here.
Solutions?
Now I'm not sure if there are easy ways to change building architecture, but at least increasing the indoor thermostat temperatures should be incentivized. A key idea to do the same would be to relax clothing norms, or at least look down upon companies that push top executives into wearing suits in such weather as well.
Today we are insulated from this weather, but we may not be tomorrow, and in either case, we can try to do our little bit to help others.
What do you folks think? Any other ideas?
PS: wouldn't this huge electricity consumption add towards our POWER CUTS, which have been rampant in the NCR lately.

2024.05.29 05:45 Ihatetobaghansleighs My first experience with mine carts

So this is the first time I decided to really mess around with mine carts, one thing lead to another and the FUN ensued.
I decided to make my fortress out of green glass, I was going to go for a large pyramid structure on the surface. What I didn't realize going into this was how much fuel I was going to need and quickly realized burning coal wasn't going to be a sustainable source for my expanding glass industry.
So I did what any proud or nieve dwarf would do and dug down to lava. My plan was to cart lava up and dump it into to channels underneath a whole crafting district I carved out for glass making and smithing. After about 3 attempts of trying to get lava into a cart without it getting stuck, I finally achieved a functional track system. The only thing was my smithing district was right above the first layer of the caverns. Underneath was a large body of water and a tall ceiling, so I had to build the channels for the lava myself. This is where it gets interesting.
Directly in the path of one of the lava channels was a fungi tree growing out of the water, the obvious thing to do was to chop it and continue building. I built a long single tile floor stretched out to the tree and chopped it, and apparently if you chop a tree from the very top the entire thing will still fall, this caused my runway to collapse into the water taking 3 of my dwarves with it.
I see this happen and accept the loss of my dwarves, however I can't see them flailing in the water. Turns out this huge body of water was directly over the next layer of caverns and the collapsed tree punched a hole in the ceiling where my dwarves got sucked out and were surprisingly still alive, though injured.
So there I am, scrambling to breach these caverns to save my dwarves while 1000's of gallons of water just dump from the ceiling when a forgotten beast comes charging in to cause even more trouble for me.
It was a large monkey with spiraling horns and poisonous dust and it was going straight for the lumberjack who started this whole ordeal. The lumber jack, who got injured the worst from the fall, managed to get a couple hits on the beast slowing it down right before my axe dwarfs were able to get into the caverns to cleave it apart.
To my absolute bemusement I didn't lose a single dwarf, but I am going to have to figure out what to do about this water fall before my fps hits 0.

2024.05.29 05:44 cpmedium3270 Goku slams Saitama

In this I'll go over each characters feats and make sure this debate ends fairly on both sides. We will do both anime and manga interpretations, if anyone would like me to do only manga or only anime I'll be happy to do so. Without further or do let's get started:
Now this isn't to be a Gokutard or Goku d-rider but as of now Son Goku slams Saitama almost effortlessly, I'll explain.
We will be giving both of them all their abilities, power ups, and we will be using statements heavily (ofc we are using feats but to scale feats we need statements to back them up, not all the time necessarily, but in this case we do for context)
Saitama before he became the opm he was a regular human who simply worked out every single day until he became so powerful he could one punch any enemy
Some fans of the show take this way to literal as we've seen people who can tank hits from him like boros and garou. Saitama has only been shown to one shot enemies that are weaker than him since we know he has never shown his true power or speed at all in the first parts of the series and chapters of the manga.
People also misinterpret the statement of saitama breaking his limiter as a way of saying he now has no limits whatsoever, which was debunked heavily by lots of powerscalers, just because you break a limiter doesn't automatically make you limitless, we see characters like goku break their limiter multiple times but we know goku isn't limitless he just has limitless potential.
Saitama has alot of statements over feats especially in some of his first appearances, I feel like any sane person would understand that saitama can't actually one punch characters that are on his level or above his level.
Let's get into speed feats for saitama so we can start getting into the differences.
Saitamas moon feat where he jumps from the moon back to earth took him 1.5 seconds( which would mean he was moving at around 260,000km/s) only .2 off from the speed of light (which takes 1.3 seconds to get from the moon back to earth)
The distance between the moon and earth is approximately 384,400km (or 238,855 miles)
This would mean, not even at full power he was close to hitting the speed of light.
Let's move on to other speed feats, flashy flash stated that he has already met four people who surpassed him in speed including saitama and if the name didn't already give it away then yes in this moment saitama was moving faster than the speed of light, later down the line he fights cosmic garou which introduces some crazy speed feats
When him and garou was fighting he demonstrated some very fast fighting speed when he uses his omnidirectional punch, which took incredible speed this would put him at mftl and he could calc even higher when he simply farts to catch up to cosmic garou which would put him at mftl+ and he would cap at that.
Strength feats:
Saitama has alot of Strength feats
When saitama uses serious table flip he lifts the surface of Jupiter's moon and nearly destroys it which is impressive since this feat was performed outer space and can be calculated from moon level Strength to planet surface level Strength.
Power( including AP):
Saitama shows great power as he was able to sneeze and separate the gases of jupiter, which is a great and heavily impressive feat due to the fact that jupiter is is 11x bigger than earth and he was able to casually sneeze the gases away mind you ITS A SNEEZE. But sadly he didn't destroy the planet which can't be used to say he can sneeze planets away because that's not demonstrated.
Him and garous clashing destroyed multiple stars which would include the galaxies surrounding them, which could calc saitama and garou to multi galaxy level easily but they would cap at that, they have not demonstrated any further feats that put thm above that.
Durability and endurance(stamina):
Saitamas Durability is absolutely bonkers as he survived hits that could destroy the surface of planets and could also survive attacks that can destroy actual planets
When garou and saitama were clashing blast had to move them to the moon or else earth would be destroyed sadly that feat alone would put both of them at planetary but ofc they get more powerful and become multi galaxy.
Saitama was able to survive attacks such as gamma ray burst, collapsing star roaring cannon, etc.
Saitama is also able to continuously fight without showing any signs of being tired whatsoever as we see once garou gives up Saitama is still chilling ready for more and still has enough power left to live up to his name and simply go back in time to one punch garou before the punch even lands.
This is where we get into the true scaling of his power growth and "limitless potential"
A graph shows Saitamas growth compared to garous and it was stated that under intense emotion he grew exponentially in seconds, and no one could keep up with him or was on par with him.
This statement shows that saitama can grow endlessly under intense emotion but that statement tends to get overlooked by alot of saitama fans because they don't like to admit that saitama doesn't grow as he fights he grows depending on his emotions.
Therefore saitama would scale to
Galaxy-Multi galaxy level MFTL+
With moon level to planet surface level Strength and Between planetary and Galaxy level durability/AP
Time for son goku
Speed:
In the frieza saga goku was already thousands of times faster than light as we see he can handle burter and jiece as burter was stated to be "the fastest in the universe" and goku casually outscales him in speed.
Goku was also fast enough to one shot recoome before recomme even noticed he disappeared.
Skipping to the cell saga
Goku and cell were fighting so fast it was hard for the z fighters to keep up, as piccolo stated that he couldn't see them and in dragon ball we all understand the fights are slowed down so we can see what they are doing.
Jumping to super, goku fought hit who has the ability to manipulate time by skipping into the future goku was able to catch up to him and hit him, which can be calculated from infinite to immeasurable speed, since he is moving forward in time with just raw speed alone, he also was able to move in a area that has no time/space( Zeno destroys trunks timeline) which would require absurd amounts of speed
Power and AP:
Back to the frieza arc goku was able to best frieza who was destroying planets by creating supernova with a lift of his finger as we seen when he destroyed planet vegeta.
Frieza was also stated to have the power capable enough to destroy the universe which is inconsistent since we don't see him actually destroy the universe, and cell was also stating that he can destroy the whole solar system which is crazy already since solar systems are bigger than galaxies which means cell would be well than enough to take on saitama.
This shows that saitama wouldn't even get past cell😭 and thats before super perfect
Mind you cell stated that he has infinite or bottomless power and strength which can easily be misinterpreted as cell simply meant his energy not his actual power or strength, this means cell already has more stamina than saitama by an infinite amount
Back to goku
Goku was clashing fists with beerus that would destroy the entire macrocosm even though goku was simply nullifying beerus attacks by matching them so he wouldn't destroy the universe, elder kai stated that the Shockwaves were getting stronger but thats only cause gokus nullifying was losing its affect the further they went.
This is similar to how bulletproof glass stops a bullet, the glass simply nullifies the bullets affect.
The dragon ball macrocosm or universe is a infinite growing universe as its already infinite, this universe also has 7 infinite realms inside of it with the kaioshin realm and otherworldly being deemed as super transcendental or just superdimensional which means they transcend the casual time/space and live outside of it
With that being explained beerus could've destroyed all of that in a single punch if goku wasn't there mind you beerus wasn't at full power when he was fighting goku
And goku matches those same punches, he eventually absorbs this same energy or power into his base form and now has that power in base meaning in base gokus universal+ in base...IN BASE.
Strength and durability:
Goku is able to easily lift and drag weights nearly the same size as buildings which is scary asf(this is before beerus shows up)
But the things goku lift are never stated he just lifts huge things without context lol
Goku is able to tank attacks that can destroy universes and even can withstand the gravitational pull of backhoes casually while damaged, backholes can destroy planets instantly meaning a weekend goku can withstand planet destroying attacks and he also casually compares the blackhole to bulmas gravity chamber
Stamina:
Goku has shown to get tired but after fighting for hours on end which means goku can fight for close to what seems like a day at best, we could use the hyperbolic time chamber as him fighting for a year but we simply don't actually know if goku fights the whole time while he is in there or not.
Goku based off of those feats alone would scale from
Low multiversal-low comp multiversal Infinite- irrelevant speed
With AP at universal+ Durability at universal-universal+
The fact that ppl truly think this is a debate is outrageous

2024.05.29 05:44 helpmefixer Flue in Rear

Hi all,
I have a diy pizza oven that previous owner built in our backyard. Couple issues.
  1. Flue is in the rear
  2. Built in natural gas burners can't seem to bring oven floor above 550deg.
  3. Both flue and door are made with what appear to be cast iron or maybe rough heavy gauge steel? Both heavily rusted.
The rusted flue constantly drops rust onto the middle, and being in the rear is bad as that's where the pizza would go. The door is heavy rusted as well and I'm thinking about removing it altogether but the opening would be quite large and let out a lot of heat.
Questions: 1. Anyway to custom build some steel catcher to catch falling rust and redirect flue opening to front?
  1. Any way to custom built a door that won't burn?

  2. Send in agents and capital to financially dominate local economies, causing mass immiseration.
  3. Interfere in local politics and clandestinely support terrorists/gangsters/seperatists to further destabilize the region.

🔗Clear, Water-Repelling Rifle Scope with AR Coating

I recently got my hands on the VerdePlus Lens 1 3/8 Multi Scope 2x from Feather Vision, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer. As a hunter, clarity and durability are key factors in my rifle scope choice, and this one definitely delivers.
The Zeiss glass and AR coating make for a lens that is crystal clear, providing near-perfect light transmission. It even has water repelling qualities, ensuring my scope can handle the harsh outdoors without a hassle. The added bonus of repelling grease, dust, and fingerprints makes cleaning a breeze.
This scope fits perfectly with my Viper target, specialty Pro target, and shrewd Mini mag scopes. I'm seriously impressed with this product's performance and would highly recommend it to any fellow hunter looking for a reliable and versatile rifle scope.

The Riton 5 Primal 15-45x60 AGLD SPT Scp is an optics line designed for marksmen and hunters. As someone who's been there, I can attest to its durability and reliability.
The scope's 19.1-inch length fits comfortably in hand and the 60-millimeter objective lens captures a clear and wide image, even in low light conditions. However, this wasn't without its challenges.
I had to learn the intricacies of adjusting the magnification and parallax, which can be a bit tricky for beginners. Despite this, the Riton 5 Primal has become a trusted companion on my adventures, and I'd highly recommend it to fellow marksmen and hunters seeking a reliable and long-lasting scope.

🔗Premium Gray Rifle Scopehead Assembly

As someone who recently had the opportunity to try out the Elite Scope Head in ASY. GRAY, I have to say it was an impressive piece of equipment. The head assembly was a sleek, silver beauty - reminiscent of a classic movie shoot.
One of the most notable features was its sturdy construction, which provided that extra layer of reliability and confidence when taking aim. And let's not forget its stunning gray finish that blended seamlessly with the rugged terrain.
That being said, the Elite Scope Head wasn't without its minor quirks. At times, it felt a tad cumbersome, particularly when making quick adjustments on the fly. But overall, these flaws were minor enough to overlook in favor of the product's strengths. In conclusion, if you're in the market for a high-quality rifle scope and don't mind a little extra weight, the Elite Scope Head in ASY. GRAY should definitely be on your shortlist.

🔗Premium Quality 1X6 Scope for Optimal Optical Performance

https://preview.redd.it/u6b6fo4fea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=354258bf0a180b6176e7e5a2d0f8095a92a92393
The Feather Vision Original Claro scope has been a game-changer for me during my outdoor adventures. With so many compatible scopes, it's got a universal fit that's convenient to use. The AR coating really stands out, as it significantly reduces glare, and I appreciate how lightweight this scope is.
It feels so comfortable on my rifle, and the clarity of the image it provides is just exceptional. However, as much as I love the 1X6 scope, the weight reduction might compromise its durability in the long run. Nonetheless, this scope deserves every bit of its top-notch rating.

🔗Ambidextrous Modular Scope for M1A Rifles with #10-32 Stainless Steel Rod and Doc's Choice Lens

https://preview.redd.it/sxfigihfea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c73cee5d8ba5451e8624f623991cee3a4528077d

The Axcel AVX-31 Scope Lens Combo instantly caught my eye with its sleek black finish and modular design. As an avid archer, I found it incredibly useful to have a scope that could be customized to my needs. The various adjustments it offered, ranging from sun shades to interchangeable ring pins, truly allowed me to build the perfect scope for my M1A.
One component that stood out in my experience was the Doc's Choice lens, which provided me with excellent clarity and brightness control in a variety of lighting settings. The ambidextrous design was a nice touch, ensuring that the scope could be used comfortably by both right and left-handed shooters alike.
However, there was a downside to this product's versatility - the vast array of customizable options could be overwhelming for someone new to the world of archery. Additionally, the stainless steel rod and T Connector, while functional, seemed a bit rough around the edges compared to other high-quality accessories I've used.
Overall, the Axcel AVX-31 Scope Lens Combo is a great option for experienced archers looking for a fully customizable scope system. However, those new to the sport may find it a bit too complex and finicky for their liking. Despite its minor flaws, this scope proved to be a valuable asset in my daily shooting routine.

🔗Precision 22 Rifle Scope for Enhanced Optics

https://preview.redd.it/6obgawyfea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52be5484c3e51e1a56c94bc1677ed539c572edad
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Feather Vision Verde Vitri Lens 1 3/8 Multi Scope 4X. This lens has become a valuable addition to my equipment, providing a clearer image than flat glass in various conditions. One of the highlights is the AR coating, which improves light transmission and makes it easier on the eyes. The specific curve structure is also a game-changer, making it fit a variety of scopes such as HHA, Viper 3D, and more.
However, there was a slight challenge when it came to adjusting the magnification level from 4x to 6x. I had to learn how to focus on the target first before looking through the peep sight to avoid losing sight. But once I got the hang of it, the lens provided a clear view of the target, even at over 40 yards.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Feather Vision Verde Vitri Lens to anyone looking for a high-quality lens at a reasonable price. It's definitely worth the investment for the clarity it provides.

Buyer's Guide

A 22 riflescope is an essential accessory for any 22 caliber rifle, offering enhanced accuracy and precision. They come in various styles, from fixed power to variable power, designed for different shooting scenarios. In this buyer's guide, we will discuss the key features and considerations when choosing a 22 riflescope.

Fixed Power vs. Variable Power

https://preview.redd.it/8pwgso7gea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4db99a66ef39b36bff7393f4d29c13c39d14f4b9
Fixed power riflescopes have a constant magnification, while variable power riflescopes allow you to adjust the magnification. Fixed power scopes are easier to use and more reliable, making them suitable for beginners or for close-range shooting. On the other hand, variable power scopes are more versatile and offer greater adaptability for different shooting situations. They are ideal for long-range shooting or hunting.

Magnification and Optical Quality

The magnification of a 22 riflescope refers to the amount of enlargement you can achieve through the scope. A higher magnification will provide a clearer, more detailed image, but it may also make the scope heavier and more expensive. When choosing a 22 riflescope, consider the magnification range that best suits your shooting needs. Additionally, pay attention to the optical quality, including lens clarity and light transmission. This will ensure a bright, sharp image in various lighting conditions.

Field of View and Eye Relief

Field of view (FOV) refers to the width of the area you can see through the scope at a given magnification. A larger FOV allows for a broader view and quicker target acquisition, which might be preferable in close-range shooting. Eye relief, on the other hand, is the distance between the shooter's eye and the scope. A comfortable eye relief is essential for preventing eye strain and ensuring a clear sight picture.

https://preview.redd.it/wycuf2sgea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=584eab6bca26d79001144d20268b272da5b9d2f5

Reticle and Illumination

The reticle is the pattern of lines or crosshairs within the scope that helps you aim at the target. Different reticles offer various holding points for different shooting scenarios. Illuminated reticles are helpful for low-light shooting, providing a glowing dot or crosshair that can be adjusted for brightness. When choosing a 22 riflescope, consider the reticle's style and illumination options that suit your shooting preferences.

Durability and Weather Resistance

A high-quality 22 riflescope should be durable and resistant to harsh weather conditions. Look for a scope with a strong, waterproof construction and fog-resistant lenses. This ensures that your scope will remain functional in different environments and withstand accidental drops or impacts.

Price and Value

https://preview.redd.it/xn8bxf4hea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85c27aa892e752f3cdfde4142b050e0984446531
The price of a 22 riflescope can vary significantly depending on its features and performance. When comparing prices, consider the quality, durability, and usefulness of the scope. A more expensive scope may offer advanced features, increased accuracy, and a longer lifespan, but it may not be necessary for a casual shooter or hunter. Choose a scope that provides the best value for your budget and shooting needs.
Choosing the right 22 riflescope involves considering various factors, including fixed power or variable power, magnification, optical quality, field of view, eye relief, reticle and illumination, durability, weather resistance, and price. By focusing on your individual shooting requirements and preferences, you can find a 22 riflescope that enhances your shooting experience and provides the best value for your investment.

2024.05.29 05:43 HaloCS Want to slowly start transitioning from IT to SWE/SDP, need some advice - Completed Undergrad BS Cybersecurity and now in AI/ML graduate program

I'm currently working in a hospital's IT department under a "System Access" team as an analyst. The job duties are what I consider to be very simple, just requires some knowledge of knowing what certain basic things are and how to use them such as working with Active Directory, leveraging a Identity Governance tool to grant access, and understanding of a little bit of lots of different applications such as Epic. But there is no coding/programming involved. Over some time I've started to realize that the people in my team or in the company have been here for 7+ years and they rarely open positions. I've tried to bring up that I was interested in collaborating with the only app developer on the team or maybe even some form of automation (planning to learn on the fly since they were already looking to use UiPath for some tasks), but it just goes out the window, specially since most managers/directors might be retiring in the next couple of years they don't really care that much or want more work on their shoulders.
I thought it would more than likely be accepted given that I've already been able to do most of the "senior" level employees tasks since they're not interested in working outside of their oldschool techniques, and didn't even ask for a promotion or raise, but I guess not. So after 3 years and still being an "Associate" making 1/3 of what the rest of the team makes so I'm getting somewhat demotivated.
When I received this position I was in the process of completing my B.S. in Cybersecurity. I completed it last year and this year I began my M.S. in CS with a concentration in AI/ML this year. I realized near the end of my B.S. that I enjoyed programming more so I started working on The Odin Project to get more knowledge in J.S./NodeJS/DBs/HTML/CSS and eventually work on some personal projects as a hobby to build my skill, but the Masters program is pretty intensive and during my undergrad I didn't dig too deep into programming, more very basic/entry level coursework in C#/C++/Java/Python.
Reflecting on everything brought me some questions and I thought I'd reach out to see if someone can give some guidance.
  1. Should I still try to pickup The Odin Project "bootcamp" for Fullstack JS/JSNode again? But instead do it very slowly since my Masters program is taking up most of the time? Or just focus solely on the course knowledge?
  2. Seeing other threads, I'm assuming that it might not be the best time to transition to a SWE or SDP job? I see mixed comments but mostly negative about the field at the moment.
  3. If I do plan on slowly transitioning to a different company for a job, are there any known positions/titles, or indicators to look into that might make the job/company seem stable? Not really in a good financial position with my current salary to get laid off after a couple of months. (making around 45k before taxes at the moment, and live in a high cost city, moving soon if a new job permits it because in healthcare remote is a bit difficult)
  4. Should I be dedicating more time into leet code as it'll be for sure required if I were to transition? I roughly looked into it and realized I wasn't even able to answecomplete the easy ones.
  5. Are city/government positions that involve AI/ML or even JS-related descriptions good to move to gain experience and knowledge while studying? If so, what are some recommended departments or agencies?
Overall, I do feel like if someone seems my history/resume it might be a bit all over the place given I'm looking to go from Cybersecurity to some Junior Developer position to then AI/ML? But I'm just thinking of the smoothest way to transition while also being able to have a stable job and be good financially.

2024.05.29 05:43 cpmedium3270 Goku slams saitama

Power( including AP):
Durability and endurance(stamina):

2024.05.29 05:42 AltruisticScarcity47 1981 Ford F150 302 2WD auto

Hello everyone, I just traded for this truck and I’m having some issues. Issue #1 is that I have vapor coming from valve cover. (See picture #1) was told to snug up the bolts around it or just replace the gasket. Easy enough…
Issue #2 there is a “breather” that comes out of my oil filler neck below my oil fill cap. When running white vapors are coming out of it. I have been told that this is supposed to go into my air box to be recycled air or whatever the problem with that is that I don’t have a air box the truck came with a after market air filter. (See picture #2&3)
But wait there’s more….
Issue #3 (the most important imo)Along with all the vapors coming out of the oil filler neck and valve cover gasket, there are bubbles being pushed into my coolant overflow tank from the radiator. When running it not very strong but after a 20 minute drive it is enough make the coolant tank boil over when engine is turned off. Also, there is a gurgling sound when engine is turned off from the upper radiator hose.
I have changed the thermostat already and changed the oil. Oil had no trace of coolant or water. I am not sure if the thermostat gauge works it will gradually rise but not to the point of overheating it just started working today so I do not believe it’s accurate.
I have several videos of the truck doing these things but idk how to post them to the thread. Pm is welcome.
PLS HELP PLS I REALLY HOPE IT IS NOT MY HEAD GASKETS

🔗Water Buffalo Leather .22 Revolver Holster for Single Action Wheelguns

I've been using the Versacarry. 22 Cal. Single Action Revolver Holster for a while now, and I've got to say it's a pretty cool accessory to have. It's made from premium water buffalo leather, which is quite a step up from the average holster material. The sturdy belt loop ensures that your revolver stays securely in place, even when you're on the move.
One downside I noticed is that it only supports single-action. 22 caliber revolvers, so if you're using a different kind, you'll have to look elsewhere. But overall, I'm really happy with this holster. It's well-made, and the quality is top-notch. I've had no issues with it so far, and I'm confident it'll serve me well in the future.

I recently tried out this Versacarry. 22 Cal. Single Action Revolver Holster, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by its sturdy construction and comfortable fit.
Made from premium water buffalo leather, this holster is well-suited for all those. 22 reproduction Colt Single Action Army revolvers and similarly sized wheelguns. What stood out to me the most was the secure belt loop and open bottom design, which provided a snug fit without any unnecessary bulk. Overall, this is a great choice for any cowboy looking to protect and carry their. 22 Cal single action revolver in style.

🔗Concealed Carry Inside-the-Waistband Handgun Holster

https://preview.redd.it/7ardd8lyda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7168c26a1c9a9fdbc5481141f9d8d9e3bc5e6bd
As a frequent user of this Inside-the-Waistband Handgun Holster, I must say it has its pros and cons. Firstly, the lightweight design featuring a sturdy nylon shell and soft brushed tricot interior is a boon for me. It effectively safeguards my 9mm auto handgun without compromising on comfort.
However, the metal spring clip, though handy, sometimes slips over the top of my pants or belt, which can be a bit inconvenient. Also, the 3.5-inch size works great for my Ruger LCP, but it might be a bit too snug for larger models.
Another feature I appreciate is its versatility as it can be used as a hip holster or inside the pants, allowing for an adjustable and comfortable fit. Despite its excellent qualities, the holster lacks a retention strap, which can be a drawback, especially when you're on the move.

🔗North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG for Enhanced Precision and Comfort

https://preview.redd.it/fzlxd1yyda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdd1f9a0f6674a08b6323322ee6b3c62d7725963
As a fellow gun enthusiast, I recently came across the North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG and decided to give it a try. Having used it for a while now, I must say it has made a notable difference in my shooting experience.
The first thing that stood out to me was the secure grip it provides for my mini revolver. It holds the weapon firmly in place, which ultimately enhances my precision and accuracy during target practice. However, I must admit that the holster's size can be a bit of a drawback at times. It may not be the most suitable option for those who prefer a larger holster for their mini revolver.
Despite its minor flaws, the North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG has proven to be a reliable and comfortable accessory for my mini revolver. If you're looking for a secure and compact solution for your mini revolver, this pocket holster might just be the perfect addition to your arsenal.

🔗Desantis Wild Hog Ruger GP100 Holster - Ambidextrous Leather Cross Draw Option

https://preview.redd.it/hk8u9zczda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b74f74f275a5fbc010d35dfe882bd476234add6
The Desantis Wild Hog Holster is a versatile and comfortable option for carrying your Ruger Single Six 5.5" Revolver. Made from top-quality leather, it fits snugly around your waist and can be worn cross draw or with a forward cant. Its belt accommodating design allows you to adjust the tension for a perfect fit, ensuring your gun stays securely in place throughout the day.
While the Wild Hog may be a bit heavier on your pocket, it's a reliable, durable, and stylish choice for any revolver enthusiast. Overall, if you're looking for a holster that provides both style and functionality, this leather holster is worth considering.

🔗Stylish Space Cowboy Holster for H&K 45 Revolver

https://preview.redd.it/crwg72ozda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97f56c670ff99530f82976b6c8173e40de36db9a
As a gun enthusiast, I've always been on the lookout for premium quality holsters to keep my scoped revolvers secure. So, when I came across the Triple K Space Cowboy Holster, I knew it was worth a try. The full-grain leather holster is certainly a sight to behold, with its classic design that's both stylish and functional.
What stood out to me was the sturdiness and security the holster offered. It was a perfect fit for my Smith and Wesson 629 Stealth Hunter, with its 7.5" barrel. I appreciated the tie-off leg strap, which added stability and ensured my holster stays in place during all my outdoor adventures.
However, I found the price quite steep for the level of craftsmanship involved. The belt loop's snap mechanism feels a tad flimsy and might not be the best fit for larger and heavier revolvers.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I would still recommend the Triple K Space Cowboy Holster to any gun enthusiast looking for a premium, high-quality holster to keep their prized scoped revolver close at hand.

🔗High-Quality, Durable 22 Revolver Holster for Women

https://preview.redd.it/zlf0p450ea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24c4793ec0174fea82ac1a7894e1ecdf959266ab
I recently had the chance to try out this Hilason Western Right Hand Gun Holster Rig, and let me say, it's a pretty impressive piece of equipment. First off, the holster itself is beautifully crafted, with a genuine leather finish that gives it a nice, old-timey cowboy feel. The stitching was tight and precise, and the metal core casing made it unbreakable and non-collapsible.
One thing that stood out to me was the holster's versatility. Not only does it fit most barrel lengths ranging from 4 to 8 inches, but it's also been designed with a leg tie and leg flap behind the holster, enhancing its durability and comfort. This made it perfect for a daily wear gun holster, whether I was walking around town or out on the range.
That being said, there were a couple of things that I wasn't completely thrilled about. For one, the holster does have quite a few holes punched an inch apart, which could make it a bit confusing to figure out the correct size for your specific pants. While the provided measurements worked for me, I can see how this could be an issue for others.
Additionally, while the gun holster fits most barrel lengths, it's made specifically for a right-handed shooter, which could make it a bit limiting for left-handed shooters looking to use this holster.
Overall, though, I've really enjoyed using this Hilason Western Right Hand Gun Holster Rig. The combination of its high-quality craftsmanship and versatile design make it a top choice for any gun enthusiast looking to up their holster game.

🔗Quality Western-style leather holster for 703 Revolver

https://preview.redd.it/1u1qu8f0ea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cc31a3c84328ee28be4e18682b057260b95170e
The Denix Old West Leather Holster is a must-have accessory for anyone who loves the authentic feel of the Wild West. Not only does it look the part, but it also feels and functions like a genuine holster should. The craftsmanship is evident in the beautifully tooled leather design, which adds a touch of class to your 1873 non-firing replica or Colt Peacemaker pistol.
One of the things I appreciate most about this holster is the ease of use. The right-draw design ensures that your firearm is always easily accessible when you need it, and the adjustable leg-tie makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods. The shell loops on the belt are a nice touch, as they accommodate the replica shells that fit these pistols, adding another level of realism.
As with any product, there are a few minor drawbacks. The holster isn't the most compact option out there, which can make it a bit tricky to carry around if you're planning to go somewhere where you might need to hide your firearm. Additionally, the medium waist size might not be perfect for everyone, so it's something to consider before making a purchase.
Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Denix Old West Leather Holster. It's a top-quality product that adds a touch of authenticity to any enthusiast's collection. If you're looking for a durable, functional, and stylish holster that captures the spirit of the Old West, this is the one to get.

2024.05.29 05:41 deadlydogfarts Future Texpats seeking four seasons and nature

Husband (34) and I (33f) have come to the conclusion that Texas no longer suits our needs. We currently live about 20 miles north of Austin. We are DINKs that both work fully remote and have the freedom to move anywhere in the US. We are planning to have kids within the next few years and want to be settled in our new home before we do.
We have spent a combined 30 years in Texas. We love Central Texas but the scorching summers and power grid issues have taken their toll. Even with a pool it’s miserable to be outside from June-September. Thanks to the ridiculous power situation in the state we lose power at even the slightest breeze and can go without for days at a time in a storm.
We have built our wants v. needs list and started doing research. Our main criteria are: - moderate summers - sunshine for the majority of the year (this is why the PNW isn’t an option) - proximity to good skiing - less than 3 hours - snow in the winter but not blizzard conditions - ideally looking for smaller cities/towns/suburbs that are ~1 hour from a major city (Costco and major airport are a necessity) - good schools and safe
We are huge sports people so being near a city with professional sports is a plus. We also both play outdoor sports (tennis and golf) so it would be nice to be able to play throughout the majority of the year. COL and politics aren’t major deciding factors for us.
So far it seems Colorado and New England would be good options but we don’t know much about possible cities/towns. We also haven’t ruled out other states.
Would love some help building our potentials list. We plan to visit our top contenders and spend at least a week there during the summer and winter before deciding.

2024.05.29 05:39 NeoHyper64 Arcade1Up won't build it, so I did... Soul Calibur XL is here!

Arcade1Up won't build it, so I did... Soul Calibur XL is here!
Some of you may have seen me drop hints here and there (or a full preview on the Super Gameroom Dudes), but 4 months later, I've finally finished my biggest Arcade1Up mod project to-date:
Arcade1Up NBA Jam Shaq XL is now... Soul Calibur XL!
There's a lot that went into this cab, and I basically built the entire thing 2 or 3 times over because of all the trial-and-error as I used new tools, tried new materials, got measurements wrong, etc. It was FAR more complicated than my prior NeoGeo build, but the results are better, too. Here is where I ended up with what went into this beast.
Cabinet ($600):
  • This started life as a standard Arcade1Up NBA Jam Shaq XL cabinet. I didn't want that game, only the shell. So, I only assembled the frame of it.
Control Panel:
  • The 4-player deck was replaced with a fully custom 2-player deck of my own design. I started with a sloped, Midway-style design, but the angle wasn't comfortable for my height (I'm 6'2"), so I settled on a raised, flat design that felt much better. The whole thing is made of melamine-coated half-inch plywood, so it's super strong.
  • The entire deck slides over the factory frame, and re-uses a modified version of the Shaq XL sub-frame to provide full support from below. I also re-used the factory "shelf" with some adjustments (used spacers to make it higher, and moved the mounting poins out to the sides to allow more room for controls and wiring).
  • There's a piano hinge on the back that allows the deck to open so the joystick and button wiring can be accessed. There's also a wireless keyboard in case the PC needs to be controlled.
  • The top features an acrylic panel that was a bugger to measure and cut, but I finally got a version that's about 1/16-1/32" accurate in every dimension. It also attaches to the deck with 4 bolts, just like the Arcade1Up versions (though it's not strictly necessary, because unlike A1U plexi, I put the panel under the button surrounds like real arcades would do).
Art ($300):
  • I contacted several graphics vendors, but some never responded, and others didn't have any Shaq templates and didn't seem to want to get involved. But I'd used Escape Pod in the past with good results, and they had a Shaq template. They also had a Soul Calibur design they had used for a full-size cab. So, we collaborated, and they produced the custom art package that made this happen, including marquee with plexi, side panels, kick panel, and the entire control panel. They're great!
Monitor ($100), Mount + Bezel ($108):
  • Dell 20" 2007fpb 4:3 monitor came from eBay. It only has a DVI input for digital. Everything was de-cased, and the controls were screwed into the back. It's a great looking monitor!
  • Of course, Shaq comes with a crap 19" monitor, so the Dell is a definite upgrade, but not a 1:1 fit. So, I contacted Gus from Karv Design on Etsy, who had done work on my NeoGeo build, and he came through. He had never done a Shaq cab before, but I gave him the exact dimensions and he custom-built a monitor mount, and black acrylic bezel. I messed a few things, but his stuff was spot on! Can't recommend him highly enough!
Audio ($166):
  • Dayton Audio KAB-2150 2x150w Class D Amp ($30) and power supply ($35)
  • Visaton 3.3" speakers ($30) and grills ($11)
  • Powered subwoofer ($90)... this makes such a difference it's not even funny
  • I wanted a "stock" look with the audio and not get into making a custom panel, so I stuck with the same size speakers, but much better quality and power handling. The amplifier is admittedly overpowered for this project, but it had two, important features that were surprsingly hard to find: external controls AND a dedicated subwoofer output. This had both!
Controls ($86):
  • Industrias Lorenzo Eurostick (x2) ($34 total)
  • Happ Competition Pushbuttons (x16) ($34 total)
  • Easyget (Dragonrise) Zero Delay Encoders ($18)
  • I went through probably dozens of combinations of buttons and switches and ended up with something that has a shorter through and minimal click. I wanted a fast response. For the joysticks, I never considered anything other than ILs.
Games ($162):
  • I started with a Raspberry Pi 5, which WAS capable of running Soul Calibur I and II, but it was finnicky. The controllers would randomly disconnect, AND it has a stupid design that lacks an audio out, so I had to pickup an HDMI audio/video splitter that ended up not outputting the video signal accurately and decreased the audio out level significantly. It also added several extra wires. The Pi setup was a total PITA that cost me nearly $200 with everything it needed (board, case, cables, splitter, power supply, etc.).
  • SO... when DIY Retro Arcade started offering the pre-built Core i5 computer with "no junk" Batocera 38 build ($162), I jumped. And boy, was it worth it! The i5 is so much more capable, not to mention STABLE, and getting rid of the HDMI splitter reduced cable clutter AND improved the audio quality significantly! The Batocera build is really good, too! No junk, and lots of good stuff (yes, every Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, KI, NeoGeo, and other fighting game). This really makes the system.
Special ($152):
  • Faux Coin Door from Arcade1Up ($20)
  • Coin Door Lights from RETRO 530 ($21)
  • Isobar Surge Protector w/ Switch ($105)
  • Control Panel Hinge ($22)
  • LED Strip Light ($6)
Other Materials ($418+):
  • PVC Edge Banding ($20)
  • Melamine Edge Banding ($20)
  • Hand Roller ($9)
  • Side Edge Trimmer ($33)
  • Flush Cut Trimmers ($18)
  • Super 77 Adhesive ($12)
  • Planar Knives ($16)
  • Weatherstripping ($7)
  • L-Brackets ($12)
  • DP to DVI Cable ($12)
  • 12v Power Supply ($9)
  • Various bits, blades, screws, and tools (picked up here and there)... oh, and WOOD! Experimented with lots of MDF, melamine, and acryclic ($250+).
  • And many, many things I ended up not using (t-molding, Pi 5, arcade-spec power supply, lots of buttons, etc.)
Tools (N/A):
  • Some of these tools I had on hand, some I inherited, some I bought. But I used a lot of different stuff... table saw, radial-arm saw, jigsaw, circular saw, drill press, heat gun, iron, hand roller, T-squares, speed square, hand drill, power sander, drill driver, various clamps, X-acto knives, squeegee, various screwdrivers, hammer, tape measures, shop-vac, etc.
TOTAL COST: $2,092 (excluding most tools and everything I bought that didn't get used, or that was thrown out, etc.)

Would it have to cost this much? No. I'm not a woodworker or craftsperson, but I am a perfectionist. So, the two things combined meant everything took longer and cost more than it probably should. But I also don't think you could legitimately do this build for anything less than a grand, unless you happen to have everything you need sitting around (including a PC and monitor) and can get cheap art, etc. All told, it probably cost me at least $2,500 if I include things that didn't make it into the final product.
So, wouldn't it be better to just buy the real thing? That isn't the point. This is "built not bought" kind of thing. I wanted to see what I could do. And I wanted to prove what an XL could be... I think this did both. And I've owned a real arcade machine... tt was heavy, huge, and finnicky. Not again. And either way, good luck finding an original Soul Calibur machine. They weren't made in large numbers.
Why not just build your own? I could, but that also wasn't the point. Building from scratch is a whole other endeavor, whereas using an Arcade1Up means it "inherently" has Arcade1Up-style dimensions and will fit in with my other cabinets. I also just wanted to do something in the XL size.
Why Soul Calibur? It's a legit awesome game. It has a Metacritic score of 98, making it one of the highest scoring games of all time across all platforms and consoles. And it's easy for anyone to start playing. I have lots of fond memories playing on the Dreamcast, but with its very limited arcade exposure, there's less-than-zero chance Arcade1Up will ever make the game.
Why use the Dreamcast version instead of the arcade game? Surprisingly, Soul Calibur originally ran on Namco System 12 hardware, which was an upgrade of the Namco System 11 hardware that itself was based loosely on the original Playstation 1 hardware design. That meant the arcade version of Soul Calibur was actually worse than the Dreamcast version of the game that followed a year later. The Dreamcast version added better visuals and 3D backgrounds, along with a whole bunch of extra features. This was reported to be the first time a console game performed better than the arcade version upon which it was based.
Would you do it again? No, and also no. I proved it was possible and built the game I wanted in the way I wanted. And it plays great and looks cool. But it cost too much time and money. I learned a lot, and that was invaluable, so I recommend it on that level. Practically speaking, however, there's really no justification to do something like this again unless the market just completely fails to produce the products we want.
Anyway, thanks to anyone who made it this far. I have a lot more pics and some video, and am happy to answer any questions. I also want to thank all of the vendors who helped make this happen, as well as the kind words from PDubs and other supporters along the way.
So, now it's your turn, Arcade1Up... bring us the XLs!

From Shaq to the Legend That Will Never Die!

Yes, that's actually a light under the control deck illumuninating downward.

The edge banding on the control panel mirrors the factory A1U edge banding.

Yes, the entire control panel lifts up to access the controls!

The top panel has audio controls, lighting control, and a master power switch.

Behind the marquee is a powerful amp, upgraded speakers, and full tone controls.

Yep, those are Happ ILs (and that's a piano hinge across the back).

The full back section, complete with acoustic stuffing up top and a subwoofer down below. That's a custom shelf for the PC, too.

A look inside showing inside the control panel from the back.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!

2024.05.29 05:39 racoonfrenzy Guests stole from our arcade will aircover reinburse us?

We run a campground with 3 cabins and have an on-site arcade. We have had this problem before where a kid will bend open our change vending machine and take all the quarters out. We installed a camera (Yes we asked airbnb first, its a standalone arcade building seperate from the listings) and this memorial weekend we had a one of the guests turn the camera up so we couldnt see and proceed to bend the machine open and take all of the cash/quarters. Now I'm not 100% sure it was a guest but they are the only ones with the access code to the arcade. Without proof it was a guest is there any point in reaching out to airbnb for aircover? 2024.05.29 05:39 Andre3000RPI Yahoo Morning Briefing

Tuesday, May 28 Good morning! Here's our Markets Reporter Josh Schafer with your preview of the abbreviated week ahead.
Stocks still near record highs: Stocks closed last week with mixed results as debate about when, or if, the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates continued to be top of mind for investors. But they still stand near record highs. ‌ After a quiet week on the economic data front, a key reading of the Fed's preferred inflation gauge is set to greet investors in the week ahead. A second update on economic growth in the first quarter and a reading on consumer confidence are also on the economic schedule. ‌ On the corporate front, earnings season is officially winding down, with Salesforce, Costco, Dollar General, and Best Buy highlighting a lighter schedule of quarterly reports. What we're watching
Morning Brief is written and edited by Ethan Wolff-Mann. For the web version, click here. Follow all the action throughout the day on Yahoo Finance and on the Yahoo Finance app.
Rate debate: A hotter-than-expected reading on US economic output, combined with a hawkish tone from Fed officials in the minutes of the central bank's May meeting, prompted investors to scale back expectations for interest rate cuts again. Investors are now pricing in fewer than two cuts for the year, and debate has shifted to whether or not the Fed will make its first cut by September. ‌ As of Friday, markets were pricing in a 50% chance the Fed doesn't cut in September, a noted shift from the 70% chance investors had priced in a month ago, per the CME FedWatch tool. ‌ Goldman's chief US economist David Mericle pushed its predicted first cut from July to September, but reasoned that his team still views these cuts as "optional" given the strength of the economy. All else equal, signs of strength in the economy "lessen the urgency" for the Fed to cut, Mericle reasoned. ‌ With earnings season largely over, Truist co-chief investment officer Keith Lerner told Yahoo Finance the discussion around the Fed, inflation, and economic data will once again take center stage for markets in the near term. ‌ "That just makes for a more volatile market," Lerner said. ‌
A fresh check on prices: Inflation's trajectory remains crucial to the Fed's rate-cutting timeline, and markets will get an update on any progress on Friday with the release of the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index. ‌ Economists expect April's "core" PCE, the Fed's preferred gauge that excludes the volatile food and energy categories, clocked in at an annual gain of 2.8%, flat from March's increase. Over the prior month, economists expect "core" PCE rose 0.3%, also in line with last month's change. ‌ Another economic growth update: US economic growth for the first quarter of 2024 came in far weaker than economists had expected. On April 25, the Bureau of Economic Analysis's advance estimate of first quarter US gross domestic product showed the economy grew at an annualized pace of 1.6% during the period, missing the 2.5% growth expected by economists surveyed by Bloomberg. ‌
The secondary reading is slated for Thursday, and economists believe after down revisions to retail sales data in February and March, the GDP number will fall to 1.3% in this reading. However, Bank of America US economist Michael Gapen wrote in a note to clients that this shouldn't be an ominous sign about the health of the US economy as final sales to domestic purchasers remains strong.
A solid earnings backdrop for the rest of the year is one of several factors many strategists are citing as they revise up their year-end targets for the S&P 500. ‌ But Deutsche Bank chief equity strategist Binky Chadha told Yahoo Finance while people are "talking bullish," equity positioning hasn't shifted much in the past three months. Deutsche Bank's measure of positioning shows investors are "overweight" equities but not to the "extreme" levels seen in 2021 and 2018.
Chart of the day This is one of several reasons Chadha sees "upside risks" to his updated call for the S&P 500 to end 2024 at 5,500. Chadha believes there could be more room to run for stocks, particularly given that he feels consensus isn't currently pricing in outperformance for the US economy. ‌ Chadha highlights that expectations for the US economy have really just shifted from an incoming recession to at or slightly below normal trend growth. If that consensus continues to move higher, and the US economy once again grows more than expected this year amid what some believe could be a productivity boom for the US labor force, it's not hard to see the S&P 500 hitting 6,000, per Chadha. ‌ "We've come a long way, but we don't seem to have gone all the way," Chadha said.

2024.05.29 05:38 Firm-Gain7744 Good build for $2500 budget? [Discussion]

I'm looking to build a PC mostly for game dev using Unreal Engine and Maya/Blender, plus some occasional gaming wouldn't hurt. I got some recommended builds earlier and I tampered around with them a bit. I've reached a list I'm satisfied with, but I'm completely new to building a pc, so I'm not sure if everything looks clear or if any parts have a better or more cost-effective alternative that doesn't sacrifice performance. Any feedback much appreciated!
