I know the cool guys are vacuuming cactus juice but I don't have a vacuum pump nor I found an easy way to source cactus juice over the sea. However there is paraffin wax and when you heat it and drop a piece of wood into it it starts boiling off the water and I'm assuming wax will penetrate into it. Is this a viable way to stabilize wood? If I rate this from 1 - just rub oil on the wood at the end and 10 - cactus juice, where this method lays? I'm guessing if I don't dishwash the knife it should be decent, right? Has anyone did this before?

I am trying to establish a Traffic mirroring between two accounts, I made the setup like below:
In Account A: 1. I have created a EC2 instance, called Target-instance.

1. I have created a Traffic mirror target, with the ENI of Target-instance
   
2. I have shared the Traffic Mirror with account B using RAM.
   

In Account B:
3b. I have accepted the RAM share and verified it under Mirror Targets.

1. I have created an EC2 instance, called Source-instance
   
2. Created a Mirror filter, with "all protocols", source and target as 0.0.0.0/0 for both Inbound and Outbound
   
3. Created a Mirror Session, with Mirror Target that was shared from Step 3; source as "Source-instance" ENI from Step 4; and filter from Step 5.
   

Issue:
When I logged into the EC2 instance, Target-instance in Account A, and ran the tcpdump as `tcpdump -nnni ens3 udp port 4789`, I didn't see any packets in the tcpdump output; though I simulated the traffic on Source-instance by pinging, curl some external services.
I also validated the reachability of UDP Port 4789 on the target instance, which is open.
For testing, I sent a test packet using `netcat` from the source instance to the target instance on port 4789, which was received. So, connectivity is not an issue.
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong here?

So for reference I came out as Gay beginning of this year finally and was expecting the worst however everybody respected me and moved on they really did not care and knew it didn't change me as a person.
Anyway I work with my friend and we make the same journey to work on public transport and used to hang out outside of work here and there I'd say I've gotten to know him pretty well as a person and when I did come out he didn't seem to have any issues and was totally chill with it.
Because none of us drive we ask our colleague to drop us off at home and to be fair he does every single time however he has had to take a month break off of work and obviously couldn't take us home so we've been working out our own ways home sometimes my mum can take us sometimes my cousin but sometimes we've had to walk home which is a hour and a half walk away.
There have been a 2 or 3 times where he has text me saying that his mum can come for him but she won't be able to come for me as he's watching his brother play football I took this at face value and said fair enough so I did have to walk a couple times as I couldn't get a lift on those days.
So today I got in the car home with my cousin and he said to me that he will take me bit he doesn't want to take my friend I was like fair enough then he said because he's left you to walk on your own when his mum could take him home I asked him to explain and he said that a colleague has told him that my " friend said to him he wants nothing to do with me he doesn't see me as a mate because I am gay"
My cousin did say however that the colleague that said this does sometimes like to cause problems with people however on this occasion I don't think he is lying because why would he tell my cousin and not me to cause problems.
I go into work tomorrow and I have to get the bus with "my friend" do I ignore him, pretend it never happened or confront him baring in mind that I do work with him but not very closely.

Look, these are just my thoughts…
All of John B’s suffering, the man-hunt and troubles in the Bahamas could’ve all been prevented. I get the show wants to show is something cool and all, but this really bothers me now that I’m rewatching for the 3rd time and start to notice details. I’m sorry for the long paragraph, but these are my thoughts on this:
First of all, after surviving the attacks from Ward with the fishing hook on the yacht, John B could go straight to the cops to tell them what happened, Peterkin would’ve protected him. Even though he ran out of gas on the jetski, he went somewhere else instead. Peterkin would’ve known it was Ward who killed the 2 outsiders in the beginning, because the guy from the morgie said they were likely killed by a fishing hook.
Second of all, he could’ve persuaded Lana to go to the cops WITH him, to testify against Ward.
And third, after Peterkin was shot, he could’ve stayed even though Rafe was dangerous. Ward would’ve called on Peterkin’s radio and they could testify right there and then. This seems highly unlikely as Ward would’ve stalled anyways. Only if the other 3 stayed and watched from a distance, it would’ve all ended differently.
Also, when John B ran away from the airstrip and almost got ran over by a car, he could’ve asked the guy to bring him to the police station ASAP because the Sheriff has been shot. I’m sure the guy would’ve driven him to the police station.
Finally, he went to the police station, WAY too late might I add, to tell them who shot the Sheriff. If only he cooperated with the cops, as intimidating as it sounds, he could be detained and maybe spent a few nights there. When interviewed, he could’ve told his story, let Sarah vouch for him, which she would most likely have done, and maybe even get Lana to testify for him as well. Lana might’ve been scared to do so because of Ward (and probably Rafe as well), and maybe his friends could’ve also testified because they would do so 100%. So in Peterkin’s autopsy, they might’ve found the bullet if there was no exit wound and if there was an exit wound, they could’ve searched the airstrip since they also HAVE to conduct an investigation at the crime scene, aka the airstrip. Big chance they find the bullet, after which they could trace it back to which kind of gun was used, check the register or get a search warrant for Tannyhill after all the leads they got from the “witnesses”. If they found the gun, they could trace tracks of fingerprints, hair or maybe even saliva to find the one who shot Peterkin. After Rafe is then arrested, John B would walk out of the police station as a free man, teenager, whatever he likes.
Also he could’ve told the cops he found the gold, show them the evidence, which is those 3 molten bars which they couldn’t sell and stole back from Barry, and tell them Ward stole it and Sarah could tell them to where, their Bahama house.
The way it all went baffled me, to say the least. The first 1-2 times watching I wasn’t noticing this that much and it was cool and fun to watch, but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you Pogues/Kooks. Either way, John could’ve been free, not hunted, not stolen from and maybe rich (If the government wouldn’t take the gold) if he did what I described above. The government of whom the gold belonged to back in the 1800’s might’ve put a claim on the gold and maybe even give them a finder’s fee or the gold would end up in a museum if they mentioned the gold to the cops and got the Bahama police to retrieve the gold from Ward’s Bahama house.

Not sure where to look position wise but I need to get out of my job. I can go on and on forever on why but here’s a super short list: - our team in particular is not promoting anybody to CRC III yet I definitely qualify as well. But just found out all 3 people we just hired are III and have no experience on the requirements to be a III. One being my managers daughter.. - pay is shit since I’m at a university. - benefits good but we are being strongly discouraged to use vacation and sick - no other team has to deal with this bs and we are the busiest and by far make the most money for the university. All my old team members with the same experience also are level III. - management is saying essentially we have to work more than 40hr a week without pay if we can’t finish all our work (which is impossible)
It’s like We are being punished for being the most successful team and there’s no change in sight. I am moving my gaming station, and trying to find a KVM switch that will allow me to use my single 1440p 144hz monitor (1 DisplayPort only), 3.5mm jack speakers, wired headset, wired keyboard, and Superlight mouse w/wireless dongle for my work laptop (HP w/docking station) during work hours, and switch back to my desktop with a button press. So I think I need the following (please correct me if I'm wrong):

1. DDM-Class KVM (for fast switching and wireless dongle support?)
2. Docking station to KVM - HDMI to HDMI (for video & audio) / USB-A to USB-B (for peripherals)
3. Desktop PC to KVM - HDMI to HDMI (for video & audio) / USB-A to USB-B (for peripherals)

I have been trying to do legitimate salvaging with the reclaimer and I am convinced that CIG made it very difficult to profit to force us into other game loops or they simply just didn't pay attention to what happened.
I personally enjoy salvaging and I agree with the changes that CIG has made when it comes to pricing of RMC and CM. However now I think they should revert back to having a 1400 SCU buffer since having that much in CM would net roughly short of 2 million and would take ages of traveling back and forth that would be AUEC well earned at that point. The 240 SCU feels small now considering if you RMC scrape like intended we then fill up some with CM and feels off when trying to string contracts together since you will have to print boxes that are really not worth much.

1. What is the purpose of having 100k contract cost on a vanguard? I tried this contract out to see if there is something I'm missing, and I'm not. You come out at a loss after scraping, then munching and selling components. You will not make your 100k back. There is no rep gain for doing this. Why on earth do these small/medium or heavy fighter ship 100k contracts exsist?
2. The clean up missions received a nerf, and I agree with this however now they are almost never popping up or are sniped by folks who are really thirty for AUEC.
3. Bring back the 1400 SCU buffer.
4. The legal 50k missions for Corsair seem to be the best as they do have a little bit of Cargo like what we were seeing in 3.22. Its a tiny amount but hey 1 SCU of quant is 25k. I think the Corsair is good balance because of the cargo. Anything that does not have cargo though is a complete bust. The risk reward is severely skewed to the side of risk though.

With the buffer back to 1400, and bringing down the prices of contracts will open up this sense of journey in the reclaimer where I could bed log for maybe a week worth of playing (couple hours a day for maybe a few days a week)until I finally land to sell everything. It will feel somewhat like mining where there is a refinery cool down.
IDK boys it just doesn't seem fun that the only thing viable to do for salvaging are clean up missions that everyone is F2'ing staring at the mobiglass to try and snipe the mission. Bad design. I know its not intended but they have to have planned this terrible state of contracts for more reasons than a regular nerf because its just blatantly bad that no one will be selecting those contracts. Don't force me to play other aspects of the game bro I like salvaging. Anyway with that, I'll be upgrading the reclaimer to an Arrastra tomorrow and start mole grinding LULLLL

Posting on here for some advice on whether to start using retinol again… I have a long story with acne and getting perioral dermatitis recently - really need some advice
For context, I have struggled with acne my entire life, from the age of 11 I was on multiple treatments including creams and antibiotics to try and control my spotty and oily t-zone. At the age of 17 I had a terrible break out on my cheeks, it was really severe and I had never had acne like that before. After numerous things I ended going on the contraceptive pill and that completely cleared my skin. I was on the pill for about 5-6 years but it really affected my mental health, depression, anxiety and mood swings were horrible so I finally came off it before the age of 23.
When I came off the pill I became quite nervous that all my acne would come back, I began getting spots here and there, and after seeing the rave about tretinoin online I decided to give it a go. It definitely wasn’t the best decision from me, I got the retinol uglies, I went in with 0.5 which was definitely too strong too quick and I was losing hope after a few months. I think my skin was just TOO exfoliated, I couldn’t figure out a routine and I think I was using too many products.
I then switched to Dermatica and got prescribed Adapalene 0.2% / Clindamycin 1% / Niacinimide 4% This felt better but my skin was continually peeling, it looks glowy now that I look back on pictures but I was still getting spots. Nothing drastic but I was definitely searching for that glass skin look.
After 6 months they switched my prescription and removed the Clindamycin (due to resistance to that ingredient I think you can only take it for 6 months). This was before Christmas time in 2023, the weather became really extreme and my skin suffered. I thought it was just the weather and I would lather in moisturisers and continue to only use Dermatica every 3rd night but my skin would not stop peeling. I contacted Dermatica and told them my side effects and they said that my skin is just getting used to it. I began to get a dry patch near my mouth which slowly got worse, I thought this was because of the weather but I got a lot of redness around my mouth and looking online I felt like I had developed perioral dermatitis.
Long story short I did have perioral dermatitis. I stripped my skincare routine to be VERY minimal and began taking antibiotic, I was prescribed Lymecycline from my doctor for 3 months, I also started using Azelaic Acid after following Dr Sam Bunting advice online.
Now that I have finished my antibiotic, I am still continually getting spots, it almost feels a tad worse now that I’ve finished the antibiotic (Lymecycline is also prescribed for acne as well as POD). My skin feels really clogged and my forehead just has a lot of tiny spots, I keep getting breakouts and I just want to not have to deal with it all the time, it feels NEVER ending that I have acne for the rest of time at the moment.
Here is my current skincare routine:
AM - Wash face with water - The Ordinary Caffeine Solution under my eyes - The Inkey List Azelaic Acid 10% - The Inkey List Vitamin C 15% (just started using this to brighten marks) - The Inkey List Niacinimide (for my oiliness) - The Inkey List Omega Water Cream (if my skin is feeling moisturised I don’t use this) - Paula’s Choice Clear SPF 30 Fluid
PM - Remove make up with The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm - Wash face with Dr Sam Bunting Flawless Cleanser - Dr Sam Bunting Flawless Neutralising Gel - this has 2% salycilic acid, 5% azelaic acid, 0.5% bakuchiol, 5% squalene (started using this in the past week now that I have finished my antibiotic and I only put it on my spots, most nights in the week) - Sometimes I may use Paula’s Choice BHA or AHA (probably once a week and not at the same time as the gel above) - Cosrx Snail Mucin (if my skin is feeling dry or I have used an exfoliator) - The Inkey List Omega Water Cream OR Aveeno Oat Restorative Night Cream
Treatments: - I’ve got the Omnilux Red Light Therapy mask and I use it a few times a week (my skin feels very hydrated and plump from this) - I’ve been using a high frequency wand a few times a week on my spots
I’ve been contemplating using The Ordinary Retinal 0.2% maybe once or twice a week in the evenings, but I’m just really nervous and not entirely sure whether it’s worth it. My skin did look good on Dermatica (apart from the peeling) and definitely way less clogged than I feel now, so I feel really tempted especially hearing that retinal is really good.
Considering I’ve been using Azelaic Acid daily for 3 months now I feel like my skin is slightly less sensitive, but I’m VERY worried I will fall into a trap and over exfoliate if my spots still continue, I’m a stress picker and I just want them gone so if one appears I just need to do something to it. I’m also very scared of the retinol uglies, I’ve started a new job recently and I’m definitely worried it will crush my confidence on a daily, as already I get quite down about spots.
Does anyone have any advice if retinal is a good idea?

I found out I had all the symptoms of narcolepsy type 1, including the falling if I laugh too hard. I want a sleep study done so if I do have it, I can get some kind of medication healthier than 3-10 cups of coffee a day.
However, I feel like people/HR or my boss will judge me if it's true and I tell them. I feel like I either have to have enough caffeine to kill somebody, or get ridiculed/risk losing my job if I get caught falling asleep, and I'm hoping the world is a better place, but I don't have too much hope considering all the things that already suck now.

Hey guys!! I’m trying to determine if I am right to feel a bit undervalued/underpaid for my role. I obviously am grateful to even have a job and be paid what I get now but with a company acquisition that added a giant load of work onto my plate for months amongst other changes, I feel a little shorted lol.
I’m at 3 years of experience at the same midsize company in IT consulting, 1 year of recruiting experience then with a full switch to HR Specialist. I have worn a lot of hats- I took over payroll about 1 year in, I handled our 401k audit twice, I handled all onboarding/offboarding/employee inquiries and special projects from the CFO as well.
When we were acquired, I had to work on a LOT of data importing and integration projects, not to mention I assisted with planning an entire merged companies on-site event at the same time. We’re now much larger with over 1k EEs globally and I am now involved in more initiatives such as branding, engagement events, etc. I did not get a quarterly bonus as I anticipated in Q4, in fact bonuses were axed entirely, which sucked when other people were getting Christmas/Q4 bonuses and all the work I did wasn’t worth anything apparently.
I finally received a raise to $69k (was already at about 63 which wasn’t market aligned) at my review this year, tried to push back for $70k and was told no. Is 70-80k too high of an expectation??

So I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes from blood work taken 3 months ago. I didn’t get the results showing 6.5 until about 1 month ago where they said I have T2 diabetes due to the 6.5 AIC. In the last month after getting these results I have lost 20 pounds and basically cut all carbs and sugar. Just got my AIC back from my bloodwork and it’s 5.2. So basically in the last month after changing my diet it dropped from a 6.5 to a 5.2. They originally gave me a prescription of 500mg metformin a day. The doctor today said that it has now dropped to a point to where I really don’t need to take it. Should I continue to take the metformin? Also since these results were just one month of completely changing my diet I assume 3 months from now it will drop even further continuing this diet. Can I now eat some carbs and sugar again since they told me a 5.2 isn’t even considered pre diabetic?

Triptans don’t seem to work for me any better than Tylenol/ibuprofen + caffeine but I recently got a migraine and didn’t have access to these meds so I pounded a whole five hour energy (I normally only drink 1/3) out of depseration and my migraine went away within 30 mins!!! But now I’m bouncing off the walls and I CAN SEE SOUNDS lol

I am 34F and up until two months ago I didn’t have much of a skin routine. I recently started noticing wrinkles and, after speaking with some friends decided to change.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time searching and asking around, and I’ve been trying to build a nice routine and trying different products. The thing is I am very new at this, and I am afraid I might be doing something wrong. I used to use only one basic moisturizing, I can’t help wondering if now this is too much…? Or could it be not enough? Anyway, I would love to read opinions.
I believe I have combination skin, it gets oily in areas such as nose and chin. I also have acne prone skin and these are the areas where it gets worse. I started noticing wrinkles and fine lines mostly around the eyes. I also have dark circles around my eyes (always had those).
This is the routine I am building:
AM

1. Cleanser: CevaVe foaming cleanser normal to oily skin, niacinamide + ceramids + hyaluronic acid
   
2. Serum: The Ordinary, niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

*I haven’t bought it yet. I use BB cream but I’ve read recently that it’s not good for acne prone skin. Also, I only use make-up once or twice a week for office work.

I would like to include a night cream with collagen and I had my eye on one from Vichy, but the lady at the store advised me to use the serum from La Roche without applying anything else at night. I’ve been looking online and I can’t find this opinion/restriction anywhere. I am wondering if I should do it.
Questions: - I’ve read some complaints about CeraVe on this sub, but I’ve been using it for two months and it actually feels good. Should I be concerned considering my acne? - Is cleansing important AM and PM? Could PM maybe be enough? - Should I include vitamine C in my routine? I’ve read it doesn’t go well with niacinamide, so where would it fit? - Both caffeine and niacinamide labels (The Ordinary) say they can be applied AM and PM. But wouldn’t it be too much? - I would like to include collagen somewhere in the routine. Any suggestions? What do you think about the night cream ideia mentioned above? - Retinol made my neck itchy, but feels great on my face. Should I not use it at all? - How often should one use retinol? - Any advise on a CC cream? - Any other advise?
