2024.05.16 14:34 squish7641 i am fascinated with death, but not in the way you think

so ever since i was a kid, i’ve been obsessed with horror movies. in real life i can’t imagine the thought of ever hurting or killing anyone, but when it’s on screen itself it’s like i’m in a trance. movies like Saw, Halloween, or any slasher movie really just brings me unequivocal excitement. i never really understood why because when it comes to being shown a real-life video of someone being murdered/tortured/beaten, i literally have to look away. (the more i age, the less desensitized i am towards gore which is certainly interesting)
anyways i’ve come to realize that the way i feel towards death and how popular media showcases death, isn’t normal.
the other day me and my two friends were talking about the movies Final Destination. i used to be obsessed with these movies just because the way they depicted the characters deaths were so realistic and weird. i seriously think those movies is what started my fascination. we were talking about Olivia Castles’ death in Final Destination 5, the infamous laser eye surgery scene where the laser torches her eye, making her stumble against the window and falling four stories onto a car resulting in her death. she had another scene where she was meant to be killed in which she falls off a bridge into water, and a car rolls off the bridge landing on her head.
…Of course, i got stared down and called weird when i said ‘wow i wonder how scared she was, i wish i was in her situation’
looking back, OBVIOUSLY WEIRD STATEMENT but i dont know why when i watch situations like those in horror movies i just long to feel what the characters feel. i’ve never been in a life or death situation, i’ve never been in a situation where i could die, and i’ve never been threatened before with my life.
so why do i want to understand the feelings and thoughts behind it??
like when people are being tortured and not able to move, turn or talk, i just can’t imagine the terror they feel. i don’t even get scared i just want to know it feels. what would i be thinking in that situation? how scared would i really be? and what could i do to get out of this situation and will i even be able to?
i dont know. on paper it looks like im trying to live out some final girl fantasy, but i seriously think its one of my favorite things ever to think about. running throughout the woods, not being able to look back while a 300-pound man is hunting you down with a chainsaw?? AND GOD FORBID YOU TRIP??? sounds like a good time to me
basically does anyone else feel this way? lack of google results when i search up this type of topic is what lead to this reddit post lol. there’s just so many different ways to die and i want to know how it would feel to go through every single one of them. Click post.

2024.05.16 14:21 Baboo85 Installing the old free "HEVC Video Extensions from Device Manufacturer" is legal?

You can't find it on the Store and if you use a direct link to the app and open it on Microsoft Store it says that the app won't work on my device (not true but anyway...).
But it's legally possibile to install it on a Windows PC? And yes, I mean that I want to know if it's possible to use it in a company environment.
We're searching the least invasive as possible method to read those f.....ing HEIC photos on a Windows 10 PC (the HEVC videos are already compatible with VLC) and install on all company PCs and that free plugin is the best solution.

2024.05.16 14:03 SamHacksLife Brainstorming the open mat only model.

I saw the Kimura traphouse posts about opening a 24-7 open mat place.
I like the model, but since in a open mat only place there is no culture being passed from the top down through the head coach, it needs to come from the ground up through community.
To have community it needs to be a place where jiujitsu people want to chill and hang.
So picture this:
You enter the building its a cafe, with on the right a large window that overseas the room with the mats. (I saw something like this on instagram)
Theres also a three couches around a TV to play UFC / ADCC events
Theres a pool table, chess, and darts. You can buy coffee, drinks and maybe snacks. Actually good merch is for sale.
On the left of the cafe, you can go to the outside area where there is a wooden deck with a hot tub and a cold plunge, as well as tables and a barbecue.
The mat area has cameras from all angles, not just for security, but for producing highlight reels for social media and for members who roll here.
What is missing?

2024.05.16 13:55 myheadsintheclouds Husband is starting to feel guilty for being NC with his family.

We’ve been NC since September. His mother did not respect our wishes for NC, showed up at our apartment and was let in by someone who lives in the building, banged on our windows and doors and threatened to go to the court for visitation with our daughter. She bashes us on social media and talks about how young parents are the worst, I have no family values, and how my husband turned his back on his family and friends, the devil is hard at work, etc. His grandmother last time we spoke said I’m only a good “cat mom,” also said I have no values and bashed me for my parenting as well. His brother tried to get him to see him, and then we found out his brother has been talking to his best friend trying to get his best friend to talk to MIL. MIL has turned my husband’s family and friends all against us besides his best friend. They are very toxic and mental illness runs in their family. MIL parentified my husband from a young age so he has been trained to feel guilty his whole life.
Anyway, since Mother’s Day passed, he told me today that he feels guilty he didn’t reach out to his mom or grandmother, doesn’t know how many Mother’s Days his grandmother has left and he misses them. He goes through periods of time where he feels guilty for everything and mostly keeps it to himself. He has said previously he would see zero point of reaching out if our children aren’t able to see them (we have a 19 month old and have been keeping my pregnancy a secret), but understands why I do not want them to be around our children. A big part of things was boundaries and his family not respecting what we want with our daughter. I’ve told my husband for them to have a relationship with myself and our children they would all need therapy, to apologize for how they’ve treated me, respect that I am the parent and make rules not them and be ok with not being the center of attention every day. We got guilted into seeing them for every holiday to the point my parents used to get upset because we saw his family way more. For my first Mother’s Day last year (because MIL and GMIL said when I was pregnant I was almost a mom, even though they’re pro life and believe life begins at conception), my MIL was upset my husband only spent two hours with her and spent the rest the day with me. She monopolizes everything and uses GMIL as a crutch, that she doesn’t know how many holidays she has left. My parents are both in their 60s with multiple comorbidities, including my dad’s prostate cancer coming back, and have never guilted us that they could die so we need to spend time with them.
I get frustrate because my husband does make progress but then feels guilty. His family has not made any effort to apologize, his mom talks crap on Facebook about us, his mom threatened us with going to court for our child, and I see no reason for things to change. I know they’re his family but they’re awful people.

Conclusion
If you’ve found yourself in the unfortunate situation of having deleted photos, there’s no need to panic. It’s often possible to recover these images, whether you’re using a Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, or Android phone. This guide will provide you with straightforward instructions on how to utilize built-in system tools as well as reputable third-party software to retrieve your lost pictures. We will take you through each step to ensure you have the best chance of restoring your precious memories. Ready to get started? Let’s dive into the recovery process.

For Windows Users - using free build-in tools

The first method to retrieve recently deleted photos on a Windows PC is by using the built-in tools. These tools are readily available and can be accessed easily on your computer. They include the Recycle Bin, File History, and Windows File Recovery tool. Let’s dive into the detailed steps on how to use each of these tools to recover your precious memories.

Check your Recycle Bin first

In most cases, deleted photos are sent to recycle bin directly. You can easily see your deleted photos in Windows Recycle Bin.
Tips:When you delete photos using theShift + Delcommand, they bypass the Recycle Bin. To recover these files, consider usingdata recovery softwareor check if you have a backup available.
Step 1: Checking the Recycle Bin
If you have recently deleted photos from your computer, the first place to check is the Recycle Bin. This is a temporary storage location where deleted files are kept base on the settings on Windows(users can adjust settings that affect how long items remain in the Recycle Bin). If you have not cleared your Recycle Bin, there’s a high chance your photos are still there.
Windows Recycle Bin Versions
Step 2: Opening the Recycle Bin
To access the Recycle Bin, double-click on the icon on your desktop or open the File Explorer and select “ Recycle Bin ” from the left menu.
Step 3: Restoring the Photos
Once you have opened the Recycle Bin, browse through the files to find the photos you want to recover. You can use the search bar at the top to search for specific photos. Once you have located the photos, right-click on them and select “ Restore ” to bring them back to their original location on your computer.

Using File History(Previous Versions)

If the photos you want to recover were stored on your computer’s hard drive, you can also use the File History feature to retrieve them. Keep in mind that this method only works if you had enabled File History at the time the photos were deleted.
Step 1: Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder where the deleted photo was located.
Step 2: Right-click on the folder and select “ Properties ” from the drop-down menu.
folder properties
Step 3: In the Properties window, click on the “ Previous Versions ” tab.
Folder Properties
Step 4: If available, you will see a list of previous versions of the folder with their timestamp and size. Select the version you want to restore and click on the “ Open ” button.
This will open a window showing the contents of the selected version. From here, you can copy and paste the deleted photos to a new location on your device.
After the process is complete, you should be able to find your deleted photos in their original location. If you have disabled System Protection or if your device ran out of disk space, there may be no available backups to recover from. You may find out how to enable file history here .
Tips: It’s important to note that the Previous Versions feature is not a guarantee for file recovery. It is only available if System Protection is enabled and if a previous version of the file is available.

Using Windows File Recovery Tool

If the above methods do not work, you can also use the Windows File Recovery tool to retrieve your deleted photos. This tool is available for Windows 10 and allows you to recover deleted files from your hard drive, external storage, and even SD cards.
Tips:This method is only available for Windows 10(ver:2004 or above)/11 users.
Note: Download and install Windows File Recovery from the Microsoft Store . Carefully follow the installation directions provided.

Step 1: To begin using the Windows File Recovery tool, open the File Explorer and navigate to the folder where your deleted file was located. You can also search for the file by name using the search bar at the top of the File Explorer window.
Step 2: Once you have located the folder or file, open the Command Prompt by pressing the Windows and R keys on your keyboard, typing “ cmd ” into the Run dialog, and pressing Enter . Alternatively, you can right-click on the Start menu and select “ Command Prompt ” from the list.
Command Prompt
Step 3: In the Command Prompt, type
winfr source: destination
and press Enter . The source refers to the drive where the deleted file was located, while the destination is where you want to recover the file to. For example, if you want to recover a file from drive C and save it to the desktop, you would type
winfr C: C:\Users\YourUsername\Desktop
Step 4: The tool will start running in either regular or extensive mode, depending on the size of the file and the current status of the drive. It may take some time for the tool to finish scanning and recovering the file, so be patient.

Now you have successfully recovered your recently deleted photos using Renee Undeleter on your Windows PC. But what if you want to retrieve lost photos on a Mac? Don’t worry, our next chapter will guide you through the process.

For Mac Users - Using Built-in Utilities and third-party apps

Built-in Utilities

Time Machine: The First Line of Defense
For Mac users seeking to retrieve deleted photos, Time Machine stands as the premier built-in utility. To access it, connect the drive where your backups are stored, click on the Time Machine icon in the menu bar, and choose “ Enter Time Machine “. From here, you can navigate back to the date before the photo’s deletion and click “ Restore ” to recover your image. Ensure you have Time Machine set up and running before any data loss occurs.
https://preview.redd.it/buewfjvmsr0d1.png?width=321&format=png&auto=webp&s=c5e0ea778c5c1ea9dd73b3c85c2f5a6aa38b542f
Retrieving from the Photos App
The Photos application on macOS, replacing older apps like iPhoto and Aperture, also offers a safeguard against accidental deletion. Within the Photos app, deleted pictures are moved to the “ Recently Deleted ” album where they stay for 30 days before permanent removal. To restore, simply select the desired photo(s) and press “ Recover “. The chronological library and the ability to sort into albums make managing and retrieving your photos straightforward.
https://preview.redd.it/z14psipnsr0d1.png?width=767&format=png&auto=webp&s=f5261d684dee6e2963efb3bffe392a3fdc64682d
Utilizing Photo Booth for Recovery
In instances where you’ve used Photo Booth —a camera application that comes standard with macOS—deleted photos might be recoverable if they were recently removed. Check the app’s library for thumbnails of saved images, as they may still be present. Although recovery options within Photo Booth are limited, the thumbnails provide a quick visual reference for recently captured images that may have been deleted elsewhere on your system.
https://preview.redd.it/af9f9d9osr0d1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=a0ff202570887440442bc840b0964a0c2a923a92

Third-party apps/service

Third-Party Data Recovery Software
When built-in options fall short, Mac users can turn to third-party software such as Undeleter , Disk Drill or PhotoRec for more robust recovery capabilities. These applications perform deep scans and can often recover files that are no longer visible to the user. They operate on the principle of file signatures, allowing them to identify various data types, including photos, and attempt to restore them. Remember to halt all use of the storage device immediately after data loss to prevent overwriting your deleted files.
https://preview.redd.it/8h9qn95psr0d1.png?width=875&format=png&auto=webp&s=1439161ffe9afca04fd1f6eb5d2bcb76b1411311
Professional Data Recovery Services
If all software-based methods fail to yield results, and the photos are irreplaceable, seeking professional data recovery services may be the next step. Despite being more expensive, these services provide specialized recovery techniques, particularly in cases of physical damage to storage media, offering the highest probability of retrieval for your valuable memories.
Tips:Ensure Time Machine is set up and runningbefore any data loss occurs.

For iPhone/iPad users

Understanding the “Recently Deleted” Album
On an iPhone, deleted photos first move to the “Recently Deleted” album within the Photos app. They remain there for 30 days, providing an immediate recovery option without the need for additional software. During this period, you can simply select the photos and tap “Recover” to restore them back to your main library.
https://preview.redd.it/jvce0weqsr0d1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=11e8d7c52018ef08109e174f56982154e104238a
Tips:It’s crucial to understand that photos in the“Recently Deleted”album are permanently erased after 30 days or if the album is manually cleared.
Seeking Third-Party Data Recovery Solutions
When the “Recently Deleted” album is no longer an option, specialized software like Renee iPhone Recovery , Dr. Fone, iMyFone Data Recovery, and PhoneRescue can help. These tools attempt to recover lost data from deep within the iPhone’s storage. Although results can vary, many of these programs offer a preview feature to identify recoverable photos before purchase.
Recovering from Other Devices and Cloud Services
If third-party tools fail, check if the lost photos exist on other synced devices such as an iPad or a Mac . Cloud services like iCloud are also worth exploring, as they may have automatically backed up your photos. Additionally, images shared on social platforms may serve as an inadvertent backup.
Tips:Access your account via icloud.com in a web browser and log in with your Apple ID. Click onPhotos, thenRecently Deleted. This folder, much like theTrashin Google Photos or the Recycle Bin in Microsoft OneDrive, keeps deleted photos for up to30 days. Select the photos you want to recover and click Recover, and they will reappear in your iCloud Photos Library and on all devices with iCloud Photos enabled.
Considering Professional Data Recovery Services
While professional data recovery services can sometimes salvage photos that software cannot, they come at a significant cost and with no success guarantees. Such services should be a last resort, typically for irreplaceable photos, and it’s advisable to inquire about the likelihood of recovery before committing.

For Android Devices Efficiently

In today’s digital age, we use our smartphones to capture and store our precious memories in the form of photos. But what happens when we accidentally delete these photos? Thankfully, there are ways to retrieve them on Android devices efficiently. In this chapter, we will guide you through several methods to recover deleted photos on your Android device.
Step 1: Check Your Google Photos Trash
If you use Google Photos to back up your photos, then your deleted photos may still be in the trash for up to 60 days. To check, open the Google Photos app, tap on the three lines in the top left corner, and select “ Trash ” from the menu. If your photos are in the trash, tap on them and select “ Restore “. This will move the photos back to your main library.
https://preview.redd.it/nsm726tssr0d1.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=f4c2f1726e0779954978bdbc5e168de91421c1de
Step 2: Use Your Device’s Gallery App
If you have deleted a photo from Google Photos, but it’s still on your device, then you can use your device’s gallery app to delete it. Simply open the gallery app, find the photo, and delete it. This will permanently remove the photo from your device.
Step 3: Try OneDrive Recycle Bin
If you have OneDrive backup set up on your Android device, then you can try recovering your deleted photos from the recycle bin. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Open OneDrive on your device.
  2. Tap on the three lines in the top left corner and select “ Recycle Bin “.
  3. Find the deleted photo and tap on it.
  4. Tap on “ Restore ” to move the photo back to your main library.
Step 4: Remove SD Card and Connect to a Computer
If you have photos stored on an SD card and they have been deleted, you can try recovering them by removing the SD card from your device and connecting it to a computer. You will need a card reader to do this.
Step 5: Use Data Recovery Software
If all else fails, you can try using data recovery software to retrieve your deleted photos on your Android device. There are many options available, but do thorough research and choose a reputable and reliable software to use.
Tips:Most third-party data recovery software necessitates rooting your Android phone prior to initiating the scan process. It’s important to be aware that rooting can void your manufacturer’s warranty and potentially disqualify your device from official repair services.
By following these techniques, you can efficiently recover deleted photos on your Android device. But what about lost photos on digital cameras or storage devices? Continue to our next chapter to learn about “Method 5: The Strategy of Recovering Lost Memories from Digital Cameras Storage” and the potential reasons why an SD card may lose data.

Recovering Lost Memories from Digital Cameras Storage

Storage media like SD cards are indispensable for digital cameras but can succumb to many forms of data loss, such as accidental deletion or card corruption. Water, heat, and even seemingly innocuous actions like ejecting the card during a write process can compromise the integrity of the data. For instance, exposure to moisture not only risks electronic failure but can also lead to data corruption, affecting the stored images on the SD card .
Immediate Response to Data Loss When data loss is detected, the initial response is critical. Ceasing all operations on the digital camera’s storage device is paramount. Users should avoid capturing new images or attempting to access the card with other devices, which can lead to overwriting the lost data, rendering it irrecoverable, data only appear to be gone but are actually waiting to be overwritten.

Preventive Measures: Tips to Avoid Future Photo Loss and Secure Your Memories

While it’s great to have methods for recovering deleted photos, it’s always better to not lose them in the first place. The recovery process may not always be successful, and it’s time-consuming. To avoid the stress of lost images, here are some preventive measures you can take:
Step 1: Regularly Back Up Your Photos
Protect your memories by regularly backing up photos using built-in utilities, third-party tools, or cloud services. Choose a weekly or monthly schedule and promptly back up new images after events or before system updates. Windows users can use File History, and Mac users can use iCloud for security.
Step 2:Create multiple partitions.
Organize photos into dedicated folders or create separate partitions on your storage device to minimize accidental formatting and allow space for backups, enhancing photo protection.
You can use Disk Utility on Macs to create multiple partitions on your external hard drive.
Step 3:Never write new photos to the same place as lost images.
If you’ve accidentally deleted photos, it’s important to stop using the device or storage media that contained the lost files. This is because the data is still physically on the device until it is overwritten. If you continue to use the device, you risk overwriting or corrupting the lost files, making it difficult to recover them.
If you’ve accidentally deleted photos from your camera’s SD card, remove the card and do not use it until you’ve attempted the recovery process.
Step 4:Auto-upload photos to the cloud.
Many devices have the option to automatically send your photos to the cloud, providing a backup that extends beyond your device. 2024.05.16 12:46 whygiacomo Ableton 12 is a mess and i wish the developers would listen to us

Rant underneath:
I've been using reaper lately for mixing because it's really conveniant and malleable (i can configure almost everything exactly how i want) and now that I came back to ableton to produce I just felt how clunky it is compared to Reaper and reminded me why I don't mix in it
1- Ableton is super slow: loading plugins takes like 2-3 seconds, scrolling up is slow, deleting a track is slow. It just feels laggy. Mind you I have a good cpu (ryzen 5950x and a super fast samsung ssd). It also felt like that in 11 so its not just an ableton 12 thing. big projects loading can also take 1-2 min
2-there are tons of bugs
There's even bugs from previous live versions that still haven't been fixed like removing a sample out of a drumrack also unmutes the muted notes)
my files are still pending analysis and its been stuck for weeks
some shortcuts don't work if you use a language other than US english
the browser and the collection filters stop responding after a few minutes
plugins seem a lot more unstable and crash (that was also the case in live 11 hence why i mix in reaper because high latency plugins just made it super unstable)
3-shortcut removal and workflow
why did they remove the return track shortcut on arrangement view??
plugin windows that open all over the screen, you can't float single plugin windows on another screen, you can't edit the shortcuts except by assigning another keyboard command and making it a template,
the browser is a mess (categories stay open even if it doesn't make sense and you need to find your way for example why is the song's key category appearing when i select effects?) and while i wanted more browser customization it still feels limited and doesn't actually speed up the workflow. (with crucial buttons like clear filters not having a shortcut, having to close categories manually and ending up spending more time in the browser than before)
I would have loved ARA support and all the other things suggested in the centercode forums. But that's okay, I just want the things it claims its doing to actually work and it's frustrating seeing other daws like Bitwig or reaper having so much workflow oriented customization while Ableton is lagging behind! I don't want another synth, improve the stability and the performance!!
who else has been experiencing this?

2024.05.16 12:41 itsallthesameinthe Windows key is muting audio, other keys have wrong inputs.

Anytime that I press the windows button on my keyboard it will mute the audio. So I just found a website that tells you what function your key is doing when press it. Most keys have their correct corresponding functions, but my windows key, and media mute button do not. When I press the windows button, it does that function but also does "AudioVolumeMute" at the same time. When I click my keyboards media mute key it does "Spacebar" for the input instead of the "AudioVolumeMute". I have a Corsair K70 so I went through their software to see if anything was bound to the keys and there was nothing. Wondering if anyone knows of any settings that might do this, and if they have a fix.

2024.05.16 11:55 Atombert AMD wifi driver

Hello I'm a bit confused about the amd WiFi driver on my B500 AORUS Elite V2. Before I had an b550 itx board and switched to ATX and it's AMD WiFi now instead intel. With intel I had regular updates of the WiFi driver available, with the AMD the latest driver on gigabyte site is from ... just checking... ok it's suddenly not available anymore!? Wtf. Ok but it was from 2022 if remember correctly. So l googled and can't find a proper page from amd or MediaTek or gigabyte to download latest drivers. In the moment my only problem is, sometimes the WiFi doesn't connect at windows startup and I need to turn WiFi off an on. But maybe in the future there are more problems...so why are there no updates? Newest driver I can find is from Lenovo, maybe I try that one. But still... doesn't feel good to have obviously unsupported hardware in my system. Thanks

2024.05.16 11:20 EKOKEfly How to Sell Your House Fast: Top Tips for a Quick and Profitable Sale

Do You Want to Sell Your House But Don't Know How?
Selling a house can seem like a daunting task, especially if you have never navigated the real estate market before. With numerous steps, potential pitfalls, and a significant financial stake, it’s crucial to approach this venture with a well-informed strategy. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you sell your house efficiently and profitably.
  1. Understand the Market
Before listing your home, research the local real estate market. Understanding market trends can help you set a realistic price and determine the best time to sell. Key factors to consider include:
Comparable Sales: Look at recent sales of similar homes in your neighborhood.
Market Conditions: Identify whether it’s a buyer’s or seller’s market.
Seasonality: Recognize that certain times of the year may attract more buyers.
  1. Set the Right Price
Pricing your home correctly is critical. Overpricing can lead to your home languishing on the market, while underpricing can result in a financial loss. Consider hiring a professional appraiser or using online valuation tools for a rough estimate. A real estate agent can also provide a Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) to help set a competitive price.
  1. Prepare Your Home
First impressions matter. Ensure your home is in its best possible condition before showing it to potential buyers. Key preparation steps include:
Declutter and Depersonalize: Remove personal items and excess furniture to make the space feel larger and allow buyers to envision themselves living there.
Repairs and Upgrades: Fix any obvious issues such as leaky faucets, cracked tiles, or peeling paint. Consider minor upgrades like new light fixtures or updated hardware to modernize the space.
Curb Appeal: Enhance your home’s exterior with landscaping, a fresh coat of paint on the front door, and clean windows.
  1. Market Your Home
Effective marketing is essential to attract potential buyers. Here are several strategies:
Professional Photography: High-quality photos can make your home stand out online.
Online Listings: List your home on popular real estate websites like Zillow, Realtor.com, and local MLS (Multiple Listing Service).
Social Media: Use platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to share your listing.
Open Houses and Showings: Schedule open houses and private showings to give potential buyers a firsthand look at your property.
  1. Work with a Real Estate Agent
While it’s possible to sell your home independently, a real estate agent can provide invaluable assistance. An experienced agent can handle pricing, marketing, negotiations, and paperwork. They also have access to a broader network of potential buyers.
  1. Negotiate Offers
When you receive offers, evaluate them carefully. Consider not just the price but also the terms, such as contingencies and the buyer’s financing. Your agent can help you negotiate to get the best possible deal.
  1. Navigate the Closing Process
Once you’ve accepted an offer, the closing process begins. This involves:
Home Inspection and Appraisal: The buyer will typically arrange for a home inspection and appraisal. Be prepared to negotiate repairs or price adjustments based on the inspection results.
Paperwork: Work with your agent, attorney, and title company to ensure all necessary documents are completed and filed.
Closing Costs: Be aware of the costs associated with closing, which may include agent commissions, transfer taxes, and title insurance.
  1. Move Out
Finally, once the sale is complete, it’s time to move out. Plan your move carefully to ensure a smooth transition. Remember to:
Change Your Address: Update your address with the post office, banks, and other important institutions.
Transfer Utilities: Arrange for the transfer or cancellation of utilities and services.
Clean the Home: Leave the home clean and remove all personal belongings.
Conclusion
Selling your house doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By understanding the market, preparing your home, and utilizing professional resources, you can streamline the process and maximize your returns. Whether you’re moving to a new city, upsizing, or downsizing, following these steps will help you achieve a successful sale.

2024.05.16 11:17 Puesness Spayed Cat Seemingly in Heat 2 Years After the Fact

Pardon the length, but I'd like to give as much detail as possible.
My wife and I have a 2.5 year old indoor female cat who had suddenly displayed signs of Estrus back in the beginning of February - meowing, purring, writhing, super affectionate (very odd, since she's usually shy and reclusive), presenting herself, and spraying anything/ anybody. The problem is, she was spayed two years ago. Called the vet, and had to schedule an appointment almost a week later (unfortunately, my cat's amorous behavior had dissipated by this time). I nearly got my arm clawed to pieces by her trying to take her, because unlike my other cat, she hates being held, hates the sight of her carrier, and I unfortunately had to resort to grabbing her to stop her from running and risking missing the appointment time (I have since researched better ways to get her from tough to reach places to avoid another slashing fest and getting another set of scars).
After helping me clean my arm, the vet listened to my explanation of my cat's sudden heat-like symptoms. Sadly, all he seemed to hear me say was that she was peeing (I said spraying) everywhere, and deduced it to being a UTI - most likely caused by stress. While knocking her out to extract urine from her bladder (he remembered her as being a feisty cat the last time I had brought her in), he asked me if anything in the household had changed, be it a new plant, new food for the cats, new litter box, redecorating, etc. as the smallest things can stress out a cat. After informing him that nothing had changed, he dismissed my claim, saying that I probably don't realize what I'm doing to stress her out, to which he showcased a variety of products on Amazon to help reduce her stress, including new cat food, a water fountain, scented plugins, etc.
With that, he had extracted enough urine, and performed a test to examine it. Minutes later, he called me over, pointing out she couldn't be in heat due to her spaying, and lack of blood in her urine. He then had me look in the microscope and pointed out that her levels showcased her being under a lot of stress. I asked if my dragging her to the vet so violently could be the cause of such stress, and he dismissed it, saying her meowing and peeing on everything was her trying to tell me that she was suffering from a UTI.
Okay. $300. That's fine, I love this cat. As for treatment, he sold me a bag of Dasuquin chewables, and requested I bring her back twice a week for two weeks for an Adequan injection. Done and done. Like I said, I researched better ways to get her into her carrier, so the following trips went rather smoothly. Cut to the beginning of March, and she starts her Estrus behavior all over again. Instead of rushing to the vet, however, my wife and I decided to see if she would stop on her own; without the chewables and injections. She did, and went back to her normal, reclusive, "get your damn hands off of me" attitude.
April swings by, and wouldn't you know it, she's making herself known, presenting herself, wanting all the love, and spraying whatever she damn well pleases. I call the vet, and they tell me that I can't schedule an appointment for another week. Fearing that she won't show her symptoms, I record her writhing, purring, being affectionate, etc, and notify the vet's nurses that I have proof of her heat-like behavior. But they dismiss it, saying that she's already spayed, and that the videos only show that she wants attention. Doubtful the vet made a mistake, they tell me if I truly think it's heat, they'd have to run an $800 blood test, but, again, there's no way the vet would've made such a "rookie mistake" (her words).
Not appreciating the nurse's attitude, I think to myself why wasn't this test an option before, paying instead for a test and treatment that didn't work. Irritated with the vet's clinic, I decided to just live with my cat's monthly heat sessions, doing anything I can to ease her "pain". But with her starting her heat in May, my wife and I just got news of a baby on the way, and I realize that our heated cat may prove very unsanitary for the new member of the family.
I now desperately seek advice, as I don't want to get rid of my youngest cat because of her underlying condition, but I don't want her spraying my house where my child will soon venture.
Tl:Dr
-2.5 yo indoor cat is showcasing signs of heat after being sprayed 2 years ago.
-These Estrus-like periods last 4 to 8 days (we've been recording), and they usually begin between the 1st and the 10th of the month. After that, she's back to normal.
-During this time, she meows for attention, presents herself, reacts strongly to being pet, purrs & writhes on ground, sprays windows/ doors/ people's legs after rubbing on them.
-She is normally (and for the past two years) a very reserved cat, won't let you pick her up, plays/ torments my 6 yo female cat even when she hisses at her to stop, and most notably, she hides when the front door opens/ a stranger visits.
-In her "heat" state, she'll come to you, let you pick her up, and approach the front door when it opens.
-After $300, Vet says it's a UTI caused by stress, and now wants to charge me $800 for a blood test to see if there's truly any ovarian tissue.
How rare is it for a cat to suddenly experience periods of Estrus after being spayed for two years? Is there any other way I can get this damn vet to "entertain" the possibility that he made a mistake? Or could it truly be something else? Should I let her outside to "mate" to see if it gets out of her system?
I've had only the two cats, but I grew up in a family that had many, and I've never experienced something like this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm mostly seeking Peace of Mind before returning to the vet responsible for her spaying, or quite possibly, another vet for a second opinion.

2024.05.16 11:11 Melodic-Appeal7390 Unpopular opinion: I'm glad steelseries moments software started recording on its own

This software is pretty good, I used to save clips from Nvidia experience and even further back, windows game bar. Both tanked my PCs performance and had little to no editing tools.
Nvidia only lets you upload directly to YouTube and maybe Facebook at an upload of what felt like a couple kbp/s. As a result so I was opening these clips in vlc media player and recording the bits I wanted, compressing them and uploading to site like imgur where half the time a clip gets detected as porn and is removed 🙄.
However It's pretty damn intrusive to start recording my gameplay without asking, i never set autoclip up i just saw a notification that my clip had been saved one day.

2024.05.16 10:58 Zath42 How do you transfer Studio Projects between computers?

I've created my first proper video in Studio on Mac but I cannot export it to MP4 - it fails like covered in this post.
So, thought I'd transfer my project to a windows virtual machine and export from there instead - it will likely be much slower but hopefully I'd be able to export it, I thought.
There doesn't seem to be a save/export project files option, so I tried copying over the original media (.insv & lrv), and the project folder in \TimelineProject to the matching Windows Studio folders.
Imported the media, I note it is missing the deep tracking data, but doesn't really matter as the project isn't listed to open or open manually.
Additional information about original issue:
The project is an edit of a single 20 minute 8k capture. There is no other media involved, just that single file. I did tracking of a subject in the media tab, then added it into my project. From there all I have done is add music (free Insta track in app), clip out the bits I don't want, and add some transitions. The rest is pretty much default apart from picking dewarp or setting FOV manually. Oh and I used Colour Plus at 30.
I've tried removing the music, colour plus, and transitions in a project 'copy', however this has made no difference.
Also tried turning off/on every combination in the settings relating the encoding, and tried exporting with alternative codec/bitrate/resolution settings etc.
I've created a new project, pulled in some media and set that to export and it works just fine!
So I'm not sure what edit has caused this or what the difference is, but as I put a lot of work into making the video I don't want to repeat it or lose my effort.

2024.05.16 10:49 amerpie MarsEdit - A Blogging Editor and Publisher

People are getting tired of corporate controlled social media and turning the clock back to the early days of the web and starting their own blogs. Free and low cost blog platforms like Micro.blog, Tumblr and WordPress make it easy to get started. Most blogging platforms have browser based editors but you can have a much better experience with a lot more features if you used a dedicated blog editor like MarsEdit from Red Sweater software. Other paid editors like Scrivener and Ulysses are available or you can use free software like Obsidian and plugins to publish. I personally use MarsEdit because I like being able to switch back and forth between Markdown and WYSIWYG. It has word processing features like search and replace and it puts the focus on writing by providing a typewriter mode. Using photos is a breeze with several different ways to include and upload media. Once you get it set up, publishing to the web is done with the push of a button.
MarsEdit isn't cheap. A lifetime license is $59.95 with discounts for upgrades. It's also available on Setapp.
