Before and after pictures from history. Not necessarily ancient history. We hope you enjoy :)
Welcome! I made a video about this theory in my channel The Ruin Maniac Files. You can watch that or read this post, do the one you prefer
Game Freak seems to love incorporating real life history into the design of their games.
Many of their characters seems to have some level of influence from historical events and the people who took part of them….
and there’s one particular group of people who traveled across the sea who seem to have been influence for a certain culture of the Pokémon world….
A while ago I made a theory about the Draconid people and their connections with different places of the Pokémon world….
but there’s something I didn’t mention back then, I always noticed some similarities between the Seafolk and real world migration process… but was lacking a few connecting points that made the hypothesis stronger…
until recently, when the pieces started to fall into place.
Today we are going to talk about ancient Japan, genetics, anthopology and other topics in order to explain the what inspired game freak to create the Draconids and the Seafolk Village…..
this is the Draconids, The Seafolk and the Austronesian Migrations. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Draconid People are an aboriginal culture who live in the Hoenn Region. They have been present in this place for thousands of years,
being witnesses to the ancient clashes between the legendary Kyogre and Groudon.
The Meteor Falls is their home, the cave where they guarded themselves from the constant natural disaster that troubled the region. They also left a mark in the granite cave, with a mural depicting the events from those primal days, similar to what they did in the Sky Pillar they built. They are the ones responsible keeping the history of the region alive, Zinnia is a example of this taking the role of “Lorekeeper”...an inherited over generations between members of the tribe.
Zinnia herself explains how the draconids are not just random dragon type trainers, but a major part of Hoenn’s history, holding the secrets to Primal Reversion, Rayquaza and the orbits of meteors. And the Draconids have a clear influence in the people of the region, for example next to their Sky Pillar is
Pacifidlog. The inhabitants of this town built on wooden rafts and logs already live in a traditional matter,
but they also are aware of the legends of region, with people talking about Rayquaza and also the Regis, the titans who in order to capture you must first visit the Sealed Chamber nearby the town, and taking into consideration that of the 4 pokemon who naturally learn the moves needed to open the seals hiding the regis, 3 are pokemon used by the draconid people (Nicada-Trapinch-rayquaza-bagon) But what I want to point out the most is how that close relationship to the past of the regions
make the Draconids to be an opposing idea to what people like Steven and Devon represent, the technological development and progress of the region vs the traditional, familiar and more connected to nature side of Hoennian culture… and that makes you think… could this idea inspired or influenced by a real world elements?
I think the answer is yes
And is through that inspiration that we will not only understand the Draconids better, but also connect them to Seafolk Village.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ JOMON PERIOD As I said, the draconids seem to represent the ancient Hoenn region, but through that aspect…
they are also a representation of ancient Japan. There are different leading theories as to how the first inhabitants reached and established themselves in the Islands… but following what the general consensus is, we’ll start to notice how Pokemon used Japan’s history as inspiration of the Draconids.
The presence of Humans in japanese soil can be traced back to 35000 years ago, when people from the continent used the land bridges that existed at the time to reach what is now the nation of Japan. Where did they come from? there isn’t an overall accepted theory, but some of the most accepted are an arrival of
people from the Korean Peninsula to the north of Kyushu,
Island which inspired the Hoenn Region, or the a migration from the north from
Sakhalin to Hokkaido. But there’s a second migration that takes place around
10-to 13 thousand years ago, coming from the south. People from Taiwan and Okinawa are believed to have reached mainland Japan, making contact once again in Kyushu. It is around this time where a prehistoric era known as the
“Jomon Period” starts, as a consequence of the mixture of the people who came from the south with the already present population of the islands.
The humans of the Jomon period where all over Japan, and while there were not a homogenous group, they did share cultural characteristics.
They were mostly hunter gatherers, not nomads, they did practice agriculture but a on small scale and their religion consisted of animistic rituals, the origin of Shintoism. But they are mostly known for their works of pottery, between which the more recognizable pieces are the
Dogu figures. Clay effigies representing people, usually women and had possibly a religious usage. T
he most iconic dogu is the Shakōki-dog, this one is the inspiration behind Claydol, a pokemon that is basically a golem,
a figure of clay that was given life by energy, a characteristic it shares with the Regis, who we already linked to the Draconids…. and Claydol can be found at Sky Pillar while its preevolution appears at the desert, where Regirock was sealed away.
Back to the Jomon. This period of Japanese History would last until around
1000 to 300 years BC, where the Jomon population would start to shrink and another migration would reach Japan, coming from the Korean Peninsula. A group of people known as
the Yayoi reached Japan, and with them a revolution to the lifestyle of the people of the islands began aswell as a new period named after them.
The Yayoi were into big scale agriculture, had knowledge of metallurgy and social structure influenced by chinese tradition.
This period was way shorter, but it left an impact, it set bases for modern japanese culture.
The Yayoi assimilated most of the Jomon people and made the Honshu Island their own, leaving the jomon groups from the south and north separated. This is the origin of what eventually became the 3 main ethnic groups of Japan: In Hokkaido, the Ainu
In Honshu, the mixture of Yayoi and Jomon, the Yamato, which makes the majority of Japanese people.
And finally, the one group which is the biggest influence for the Draconids.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Present mostly in Kyushu and the Ryukyu islands, the Ryukyuan people are the third japanese subgroup. The Ryukyuan people are pretty much a culture of their own, even if they have been almost assimilated to the predominant japanese tradition.
Their religion is noticeably more similar to that old antecesor of Shinto, following an animistic model in which rocks, trees and other elements of nature, even specific locations, are considered to possess spirits.
their religion is filled with concepts indicating care for the balance between nature and human intervention, the living and the dead, (Which already parallels the Zinnia’s attitude towards Devon’s plans for the delta meteor)
but The Ryukyu people also practiced what is known as “Veneration of the ancestors”, this means they would execute rituals in order to show respect towards the previous generations of their families, building altars for them where they would pray to let them know about how they lived.
And they had different classifications of ancestors depending on their antiquity, dividing them into “AGES”. The ones that go up to
25 generations back are the “Present Age” The ones older than that are the
“Middle Age”.... but why middle?
Well, Ryukyuans believed that when the first kami, the gods of the world, appeared… that was also the moment the Ultimate Ancestors appeared, the one from which all life comes from: Utin ("
Heaven", the father)
Jiichi (
"Earth", the mother)
and Ryūgū ("
Sea" The place from which life originates, as it is beyond the sea where the land of the Gods is located)
These show a clear similarity to the myths of the Hoenn region,
Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre represent the exact same elements, Heaven Earth and Sea… And the idea of a place from where life originates is present in Hoenn, the Cave of Origin the place where you have your final battle against Groudon and Kyogre is said to be the place from which all life began. And notice how this place, Granite Cave, The meteor falls and Sky Pillar are within or are accessible through caves… a
nd the places where the ryukyuans made rituals for their Ancient ancestors were most of the time caves called “Utaki”, located nearby their settlements….. This could explains why the Cave of Origin is called “Shrine of Awakening” in Japan.
That’s explains why this place and Mt Pyre are so significant for the legendary pokemon, the place where life begins (with the ancestors) and the place where it ends. Oh and I didn’t mention how that age when the Kami and the Ultimate Ancestors appered is called: the Usachi-yu the “Ancient Age”.... similar to what Zinnia calls the times when Groudon and Kyogre fought over the energy puring from the Earth:
"Thousands of years ago, in the primal age long lost, the world was overflowing with natural energy. Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre fought over that energy in endless, furious clashes."
It is also worth to mention that Ryukyuan rituals were executed only by women, as their society had many matriartical elements.
The Noro was the most important priestess of their religion and were the ones who took care of the Utaki. Why is this important? well…. every draconid with a level of authority we know… are women.
Zinnia, her grandmother and Aster are all female draconids…not aster the whismur, aster the lorekeeper who preceded Zinnia on the charge…
until she was killed by the Devon Corporation…. more on that later.
Oh and did you guys notice all those spirals carved in locations related to the draconids? they are most likely a reference to the motives present in Jomon Pottery…

but they also remind me of the spiral theme from the Symbol of the Ryukyu Kingdom from the 15th Century…. which also looks a lot like the dynamax logo…
eternatus is a dragon pokemon... the draconids are draconids....
but I’m getting out of track, back to the important stuff

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Regis are not only found in the Hoenn region, you can find them in Unovan Underground Ruins, Different locations in the Sinnoh Region and now the Galarian Crown Tundra with the addition of Regieleki and Regidrago. Also is important to mention that the same Braille writing used in the sealed chamber is present in the Sevii Islands, in the same locations where we can find the Ruby and Sapphire, stones not only linked to the weather trio, but in the manga they are used to control Deoxys, Pokémon who came to the earth in the meteor from the Draconid Prophecy……
This indicates that the Draconids probably traveled to these regions in the past… and we know they are not strangers to this kind of travels. The Embedded Tower in the Johto region was built by people from Hoenn to use it as place for worship of the weather trio… We know these people had to be the Draconids,
Aster died defending this place of The Devon Corporation and there’s the Dragon Tamer Clan from Blackthorn City, which leader wears a Rayquaza Helmet on the Manga https://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/1/1a/Dragon_Clan_Elder_Adventures.png and it’s named after a Trainer class introduced in gen3… with all of the trainers fallin under this class appearing at the meteor falls. But how did the Draconids reach these regions?
Well, the People from Pacifidlog are said to be descendants of people who were born and lived their whole lives in the sea.
This description fits a lot with the people of the Seafolk Village
“The village of a wandering people who live on ships. They all seem to love living free and unfettered.”
And the Village is already pretty similar looking to Pacifidlog… but what confirms this connection is the presence of a move tutor in the city… one who can teach your pokemon Dragon Ascent… the move used by Rayquaza to mega evolve…. move Zinnia teaches to Rayquaza in ORAS
“And I pass to you the final key to Rayquaza's true power. The move that only it can learn: Dragon Ascent..."
And the village is also similar to Summertime in the Fiore region from Pokemon Ranger.. region with temples dedicated to the Weather Trio.
That explains the presence of Draconid iconography and the regis all over the world… They are linked in some way, which is why they helped trapping the Regis in different Regions of the World….
But…….. what do the seafolk represent? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s a book in the Malie Library… a book titled
“Falling in with the Seafolk”
“The seafolk are mysterious. They skillfully manipulate boats, riding the waves with their knowledge of the stars, visiting each region of the world. With knowledge of every legend and riddle, they onetime received a windfall of treasure. Even they themselves do not know where they came from or when they began their boat voyages.”
this description and the connection of the Seafolk to Alola, region based after Hawaii, always made me think there was a link between them and a particular migratory process of thousands of years ago… and now I have evidence.
Thanks to genetic research, is was discovered that Ryukyuans are more genetically similar with the Ainu and the ancient Jomon people than with the Yamato… This is because while the Yamato do have Jomon genes, they show more similarities with East Asian people, mainly of Korean and Chinese origin.
But there a thing these groups have in common that is most likely related to their Jomon roots.
Again, most of what I’m going to talk about now is only theoretical, but it has an important level of acceptance with the scientific community.
The same genetic studies I just mentioned found something interesting…. The Jomon genes present in all of the Japanese ethnic groups showed the presence of a certain Haplogroup.
Haplogroups being a collection of genes which are inherited from only one of the parents, with a combination of alleles that repeats in people who are directly related, allowing us to trace back ancestry through those haplogroups. In the case of the Jomon, it was discovered that they were not connected to modern day asians, as the Yayoi are.
T
he haplogroup responsible for this, which now has a stronger presence outside of the Yamato, is the Y. Chromosome HaplogroupD, a group that is absent in almost the whole world outside of Japan… except for two places….
Tibet and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with the cultures of this last place being really isolated with little to no contact with outsiders in the last thousands of years.
So… what does this mean?
Well, there are different theories, but looking into the location where these groups are located… it
is possible that the first people who reached Japan where related to an ancient group of dark-skinned asians who were the ancestors the Admanese and Tibeto-Burman people… a group that would eventually disappear or be dispersed thought southeast asia, being replaced in the continent by the ancestors of modern day chinese people. But the interesting thing is that the placement of these people in South East Asia could indicate a relationship with the Austronesian Cultures. The Austronesian
are many cultures joined by their shared linguistic roots, with most of them being represented by Taiwanese Indigenous groups and people from South East Asia. And it is these people which are the biggest influence for the Seafolk People, but … how?
The Austronesians initiated one of the biggest migratory events ever, so extenze there are many theories on how it started… but the most believable one is the
“Out of Taiwan” Model Proto Austronesian people started back around 10000 BC to move from continental China to Taiwan, this lasted until around 4 thousand years after…
Until the year 3000 BC, when the large scale expansion started.
Austronesians sailed away on search of new land….and boy they did find new land! They went far beyond Taiwan and south east asia,
reaching Micronesia, New Guinea, Melanesia, Polynesia, and Madagascar, all of this being evident in the linguistic similarities between these places.
And besides that… what connection do they have with the Seafolk?
Well, just like the Seafolk, they would use the waving waters to calculate their location, as well as developing a map of the stars which they would use at night with same purpose, even having to consideration the different times of the year and how that affects the night sky. Remember, the Seafolk had knowledge of the stars.
They skillfully manipulate boats, riding the waves with their knowledge of the stars, visiting each region of the world.
What else? Well… they also settled in… Hawaii, just like the seafolk did in Alola.
And, how convenient, some authors think J
apanese-Ryukyuan language is connected to the Austronesian linguistic family… which wouldn't be surprising, the guys reached Madagascar, just take a look how close ryukyu (Okinawa) is to Taiwan.
And this is what the Seafolk are, they are most likely an ancient group of sailors who reached Hoenn and had contact with the Draconids of the Primal Era, which lead into a cultural exchange between them… and this why you can find evidence of draconid activity all over the pokemon world… even Galar..
as a reference to those ancient austronesians…..
and I think Game Freak had this reference planned out since the beginning, since they first depicted Kyushu back in Gen 3
and I have evidence… so let’s end this thing with:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOLLOW YOUR NOSE. The Granite Cave, another of the caves used by the Draconids.
This place is inhabited by many pokemon species, all of them pretty fitting for this location… but there’s one that's is intriguing
NOSEPASS
Nosepass isn't just another pokemon… it’s really significant.
Besides of the Granite Cave, it can be found in the Underground Ruins of Unova where the Regis are trapped, as well as the other caves that form part of the same chain of tunnels, Mt Coronet… the Iceberg Ruins of Regice are located within MT coronet, not to mention that a Probopass appears guarding the Snowpoint Temple in Pokemon Generations… temple built for Regigigas They are present in Akala, and Olivia uses one of them….
And they also appear in Kalos Route 10, a route related to Infinity Energy.. Energy the Draconids seem to understand better than everyone… But why?
Well
Nosepass is based after the Moai, the Statues from the Easter Island… or Rapa Nui in polynesian… Yes, the Austronesian migration also reached these place….
The Moai were built by the Polynesian colonizers of the Islands, before they abandoned the islands…
But they are not only connected to the austronesians through their inspiration….
Remember Nosepass is basically a compass, always pointing to the north with its nose. Maybe The Seafolk used them as method of geolocation….
as the pokedex said back in gen 3:
Its magnetic nose constantly faces north. Travelers check Nosepass to get their bearings. a guide for their voyages into the vast blue of the seas ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So 2 months ago I flatlined. I went from boners from the wind blowing (not literally but not far from truth), to staring at tons of sexy women IRL, showing their bodies and nothing...even though I was for sure loving what I was seeing. Then I tried to have sex with a new woman and was not hard enough, so had to stop.
A week before I had noticed I was not getting as hard as before even with porn so I dropped it after finding groups like this. I went a couple weeks no PMO, then maybe in 3rd week I started to slowly get aroused here and there but I was VERY picky. Random boobs on the street did not work anymore. Mostly dirty talk from women and CERTAIN body types in public but no raging hard ons.
I then started checking out supplements. Extenz was useless. Then I tried Horny Goat weed. Nothing at first then one day I was driving and I got hard for 10+ minutes. Even throbbing a bit. I was so excited. I kept getting better then started to feel like I was ready but things ended with last girl. Then I stopped taking Goat weed and headed for a flatline again but not as bad as before.
Met a new women looking for casual but she turns out to be really special so we are WAY past that now. She is a GREAT match for me. She is HOT!! She is VERY sexual and confident. Reliable and just a great person. So I've been falling for her. All we did is make out so far.
Well, we have been getting SUPER turned on by each other. One night she sent a photo in a T-Shirt and I had a boner for what seemed like hours. I throb for her a lot from talking to her and even thinking about her. However I still don't feel like myself. I want to have sex and a lot of it all the time, but my penis usually seems unenthusiastic. When she invited me over today I got hard at the thought but not sure if I was hard enough to penatrate if sh was here. I did have a morning wood though.
Maybe performance anxiety? How do I deal if that is case?
My plan is to be prepared for sex but don't plan to have sex. We are for sure gonna be making out hard and I'm sure she is ready for my hands all over her body and hers mine. Also perhaps her getting fully naked for a massage. If these things don't produce a raging hard on, I'm not gonna try. In fact, if when she opens the door I'm not instantly ready, I might just decide right there to do other things. There is no way a horny guy like me can go to a HOT women's place, knowing sex is on the table and she REALLY wants me and not be super hard unless I'm really not ready for sex yet. :/
I'm gonna bring me vibrating cock ring, just in case I feel ready but just want to make SURE I'm ready. I do NOT wanna try and fail! If I'm going in, I better be SURE! Do NOT want our first time to be like that.
In fact I'm thinking to play a mind game with myself. Remove performance anxiety by planning not to have sex. Just plan to enjoy being with her and enjoying her body otherwise. Make it so if we have sex, it will be unplanned and spontaneous. If at any time I'm with her, I have a raging hard on...I'm going for it! Sorry if she was telling me a sweet story about a cute dog she found or whatever, but my dick will be the director. When Mr. Dick says "ACTION!!"....the movie BEGINS! "AND....SCENE!!!"
Please give me any tips and wish me luck boys!
