Feels like a trauma dump now š medical and life advice are very welcomed šš TL;DR: is there such thing as too broken, too dumb, or mental for med school? Is wanting and believing enough? How do I let admissions know that I can probably do it given my pasts of failures? lol Ultimately, I am not sure whether I should even attempt, what and how should I work on myself during this, and if even have what it takes or would med schools even consider me given my past and who I was? My life situation is a bit out of place, this is quite an understatement, and honestly got the fuck out of my control a long time agooo lmao and this is me trying to take control back. So I haven't done anything physically or in reality about med school, I have only planned the steps in my head, but just as everything in my life the doubts and anxiety will not go away until I can justify them. I will give you my background as I go. I will be 30 in less than a year and I am probably much different from you guys who are probably on the upper echelons of the human race in terms of intelligence and will-power. From my experiences, grades, and the fact that I have zero real achievements(not even a degree), it seems like I have neither of those... Med school might also something to validate myself. I am not sure. I was born as the only grandson of a wealthy, maybe top 10 in the country at one point, and abusive asian family that only cares about money, but it felt like everyone was a stranger even though we were a big family that consists of many generations. My parents were divorced before I was born and my dad had already remarried and had my half-sister, but since there's a 'main' wife and 'side-chick' wife here in Thailand, there's nothing anyone can do about it. There was a lot that went through my mind when I first learned who the other girl that was holding my dad's hand was. I probably developed some kind of mental trauma from it š The family dynamic was quite simple tho, everyone hates each other and is doing whatever they can to get the most money, property, and fortune. My mom and my grandma wanted a boy since my mom already had 2 daughters (š”š”š”), so they decided to do everything they can to get a boy: doctoring, sciencing, God and Goddesses blessings and prayers, mixture of beliefs, cambodian black magic and dark arts šš š they literally went to Cambodia to get it done. My grandma wanted someone to carry on our family's fortune and my mom wanted me to be the eldest grandson just in case any other relatives gets pregnant, so that I would inherit everything. When I was born I already had $5 mil usd under my name and added on by my grandma as time goes, but taken by both my parents bit by bit like 500k there, 200k here.. without my grandma's knowledge. I've never spoken to my dad, but only listens to what he wants me to do and we cannot talk back at all, so it's mostly me going to take out some money under my name for him. He has his own issues with his parents and we all just accepted all his treatment against us, physical and emotional abuse ever since I was 4, I'd get hit with a stick, slapped, kicked, smacked on the head, and yelled at during nearly every encounter. He once beat the living crap out of me in a restaurant in front of the entire family and public. That was when I spent a lot of time in my head planning my revenge... I was obsessed with the idea of killing him, but I ended up forgiving him after going to a meditation camp. Other than my dad's stuff, I'd would grow up quite spoiled with personal drivers, maids, probably unlimited of anything š, and a lot of freedom. I was never and had never been disciplined yet I was ambitious somehow. The school I went to before college was the most expensive in my country and was filled with 'geniuses' compared to me, but I was competitive and only tried to out of spite and wanting to be better than themšš, but at the end of 11th grade my mom's secret 5-year housebuilding project was done and she evacuated all of us out of my grandma's house without her knowledge. My mom took me out of school, got me to take GED, and enrolled me into an engineering college right away. I didn't even want it lol I was told to be an engineer since forever, so I set my goals quite high. When we moved out, I realized my chances to go to top engineering colleges like UCB and MIT were gone. I was quite depressed during my first and second year in a local university when all my friends are going to top universities abroad. I told my mom about it, so we went to sell one of the properties under my name and I was able to transfer to UIUC. I was quite happy at first, but my major was chemical engineering and it got quite tedious and I really do not know how to study since I've never really done so. I don't have a single notebook and only listen in class so I can do the problem sets. I can't imagine myself working at an oil rig or a factory my entire life so I applied for a research position in a nanolab and spent most of my time in the lab, but then I got bored of that even though I was leading the research team and only find myself binging through papers unrelated to my major nor research.š My mom got brain cancer and had to get surgery that time, so I ended up dropping everything both college and research even tho I only have a few courses left in my fourth year. I came home after my mom's successful surgery, but then got into a fight over money with her since she took out more than 400k without telling me and wanted more. I told her no and she kicked me out of the house. I went back to my grandma's house and work at my family's business since we had just started a tech company, while all we had done were selling hygiene products. Turns out my grandma wasn't a fan of that idea since my dad got fired from our family's business because was embezzeling money out of it. He was in a lot of debt like 1.5-2 mil and this was his solution, so my grandma thought I'd be the same or my dad would find a way through me. I ended up staying home for the majority of the time, so she can keep her eyes on me all at all times. She would call me at 6 am every morning to get me to come to her room and rant. everyday. There are like 20 cameras installed in the house and she's always monitoring them so she would know where I am and what I am doing. She would ask a driver to follow me when I leave the house and would always ask the security guards to call her as I back out my car. We got into a big fight about it, but I got fed up and left. I cut off all contact with everyone in my family and went to a programming bootcamp in the US, but then decided to give US college a try again and dropped out during my fourth year again.... lol fuck me right šš I do have the tendency to quit right before the good part. I am not sure why...it also happens when I was at the top of the esport(LoL) world in my country, was representing my country in international tournaments, but I just got bored...maybe if I had stuck to something. When I came back to Thailand, I contacted my aunt and learned that both my mom and grandma passed away. My mom's cancer came back and my grandma got septicemia. I was devasted and depressed. I was quite angry that my family didn't bother contacting me even though I don't deserve it. I got mad and took out everything under my name, became a firearm instructor and opened up a shoot ranging, went on a tinder and drug spree for two years after being drug-free and only had one gf my entire life, and then I gambled everything away. I am now living on financial assistance and became suicidal, attempted, and hospitalized, more times than anyone should. Getting my stomach pumped was the worst shit of all. My dad ended up hearing about it and said to come home and he will figure everything out and probably my family will pay for med school. I ended up surviving many different methods... except jumping and has been in an assisted housing room for two years now. The furthest I'd go from my room is about 10 meters. Okay... now this is my current mental situation. I kinda had a lot of time to reflect on myself and the things that happened to me. It turns out I've always done something that someone wants me to do, but med school was the first thing I've ever decided for myself. I think I have a purpose and a reason why this time. My goal is just to be an ER doctor who can perform surgery in Thailand's rural area, nothing fancy. I'd love to be able to work at an ER during festival periods in my country. I've always thought I wish I was there ever since I saw a Thai medical movie when I was young. It is pretty much the only Thai movie I remember. Am I too dramatic or extreme for this? After two years of solitude and being quite neutral with life, I've stoic... or depressed again not sure lmao I believe I can do it and I want to do it, but is that enough? My plan is going to med school in Norway since I can pretty much start over, but is it necessary given my goals. Patrol spawning has been increased when there are fewer than 4 players. The fewer the players the bigger the change. For 4 player missions there will be no change compared to before.The biggest noticeable change will be for solo players at higher difficulties
Gameplay
Made minor level generation improvements to how we distribute locations throughout the mission map. This should improve variation in distance between objectives, and objectives will likely not spawn as far away from each other as often as before.
Added setting in the options menu gameplay section to disable automatic climbing and vaulting while sprinting.
The Spread Democracy mission otherwise known as āraise the flagā can now be enjoyed on higher difficulties for maximum freedom spreading.
When readying up, Helldivers now salute to ensure maximum democratic readiness.
Added ambience to the Tremor planetary hazard to underline the severity so Helldivers can react accordingly
