2024.06.02 10:47 Few_Document1566 Opinion/Theory: All the teens survive

Preface: I do not profess this opinion as the canonical and factual ending. I like the interpretations and ambiguity, which is why i believe this play is genius in its writing. This is my essay and case as to why i believe the kids ended up surviving in the end. I really tried to find where Jacob Richmond has ever said directly that they definitely don't return at all, or anything that confirmed the fate of the group aside from Jane/Penny ofc. As far as I am aware, he has only just focused on their death and has never explicitly confirmed any theories of the fate of the group. That is technically my first point I just discussed to back up the theory, but everybody knows the ambiguity of the ending has left a lot open to interpretation, so we won't count it ;). Besides, he can always one day come out and just decide the canonical fate to everybody and completely throw whatever I have here out the window, but hopefully he leaves it ambiguous. I apologize in advance for grammatical and structural mistakes. I tried to be organized with my thoughts, but i am also impatient and just type lol
1) Karnak's Prohpecy to the Group:
I know it is widely accepted that the "complete the whole" is referring to Ocean giving the prize to Jane in order to restore her "whole" and reincarnate her as her being the only one who lives in the end..... but technically, you could actually argue that the fortune means that when Ocean, who is the one who is the final and toughest person to come to terms and find peace in her death, gives the prize to Jane Doe, who was the biggest "loser" out of all of them, it will complete the "whole"....... as in the GROUP as a "whole". Ocean giving the prize to Jane Doe was the last and final resolution of the entire group as a "whole". They were all complete. There was nothing else that they needed to figure out or resolve after that and they all became complete and content in the end. They became whole and fulfilled the prophecy Karnak made, which funny enough, made the prophecy whole itself. Everything was made "whole". Personally, I think it is more face value, far fetched, and easy to assume that the "whole" meant JUST Jane Doe being complete. Focusing too much on the prize itself, and not the meaning of what the whole journey of the play/plot was meant to be about really. Karnak's prize of returning one person to life, i believe, was a red herring anyway. Karnak knows way too much about the group and it would defeat the whole purpose and have not nearly as much of an impact if he told everybody, "All of you will return to life if you learn your lessons šŸ¤—". So, to assume the widely accepted assumption most people go with and it is nothing more... makes the idea only Jane was given life (the prize) just more flimsy in my eyes.
2) Wording, Context, and Specific Choice of Words That Were Written:
Ofc, Jane gets a life and is reincarnated we know this. Notice how that isn't the same as being brought back to life if you want to get technical though. Reincarnation and resurrection are very separate definitions when it comes to death and have been widely accepted as such. Her actual body and who she was, was not actually resurrected. Also, religions, most notably Hinduism, always tell us that reincarnation is the CONTINUATION of life. Life never stopped. As a matter of fact, Jane sings this in the beginning and end of the play. This is why a lot of people believe the group is in a constant time loop. It is a complete restart going from being alive.... to being alive in a different form for Jane. Amd it is a restart for the group which I will explain further. And if we are to interpret resurrection and reincarnation as separate, then nobody actually won the prize that Karnak said would be given. If the ending shows time being manipulated and reversed (or they were moved to another timeline. Gonna get into that later lol)..... then how is one dead if they never were to have died in the first place šŸ‘€ (Manipulation of time). So in a way, WE WERE ALL RIGHT. They did die in the timeline they were originally in, time technically did loop around to the point of where they were before, and they all are bow alive. Would be f'ing mind blowing.
3) Karnak's Reliability, Prophecies, and Misleading Nature:
Tieing into the previous point of evidence.... Karnak has been established since the beginning of the story to be misleading and not very trustworthy in what he says to be the entire truth or not the ONLY truth. However, that is not to say what he says has not come to fruition. All of his prophecies come true. Now, you may think that if I say this, then I just contradicted my point about him saying he would bring someone back to life in the end. That's where I am going to bring up the specific wording and how Karnak has operated in his prophecies and his nature as a character. See, even though they weren't playing a game as established in the ending..... Karnak explicitly stated when they arrived in Limbo that he wanted to play a game. That game was part of the red herring and the misleading nature of his character. It was a game for Karnak not them. Karnak constantly shifted the rules and regulations of the game throughout the play (never lied), but you know when he is clearly giving a prophecy (Ex: The winner and the loser make the whole). If the game never existed (as evident by the fact they were never actually competing, let alone even competing for a prize)..... If there wasn't a game being played.... then that would mean the prize was not the actual reward that was even given. So then you may ask, "What would that mean about the prophecy of the winner and the loser making the whole then if that is the case? Doesn't that contradict that theory?". That's where wording is very tricky and amazing about this play. A winner and a loser can be correlated to that of a conflict, battle or endeavor. You could actually refer to life as being the endeavor. Ocean was the one who wanted to win the most out of life, and Jane was the one who lost the most out of life. In Limbo, that continues to be the case. Ocean still is striving to win at her life (one who wants to win the most) while Jane can't and is eternally labeled as, literally, the loser. So, who wins and loses doesn't have to be in the context of an actual game or contest. And if you want to say there was a contest or game, then the only kind was with themselves. They were MAKING it a contest initially if anything.
Karnak has never lied. If there was never a game,, then there were never rules, and if there were never rules, then he really has never lied. Mislead? Yes. If you believe it was a game, then it would only be a game from Karnak's perspective. He would make changes, but has never actually lied.
4) Karnak's Powers and What He Was Going to Say Before His Death:
By the end of the play, at this point, it's absolutely perfectly reasonable to assume Karnak has the ability to bring all of them back if he were to be able to do everything else he has done in the show. He has never stated that he isn't capable of it, and just says that he is able to bring someone back who wins. Powers we know he is capable of are (and not limited to as far as we know) time manipulation, spacial manipulation, controlling life and death, prophecising, resurrection (we actually don't even know if he is capable of this technically, but probably is), reincarnation, and being an overall omnipotent and all knowing being. I know it is even more of a deeper dive, but if they are in a time loop and the last time we see the group, is when they are back on the coaster..... who is to say he didn't take them to a time where the accident doesn't happen? Somebody said that they are just constantly in a never ending loop on the coaster at the end cause of the screams and the gestures? But idk how we would get that when a roller coaster has multiple dips so idk how you would get the conclusion from just gestures. I would like to mention that Karnak was about to mention another prophecy before his death, so there clearly was something that we are meant to try and figure out what it could be that he didn't mention. I just know there is something significant about the number 7 that ties into it somehow, cause I haven't been able to figure out the significance of that number besides the time of when they were riding the coaster. There has to be more to it.
5) The Light:
Ok, I just know someone is going to say something about the light, and I totally understand..... but it's not enough to counter everything else that was previously mentioned. Jane and the group had different colors for the light because they both traveled different paths of their return. And also, you could easily interpret the change of light for the group to show that they were back in the carnival setting and they just made the light green because they were matching the carnival color aesthetic. It's just something that I get is subtle and should definitely be taken into consideration, but it's just not enough. You would have to examine if there is any symbolism in color within the story and if they are actually associated with anything in the play itself, which as far as I can tell.... the white light is the only symbolic color I could discern.
P.S. I'm sorry, but I flat out am going to say that the theory that Jane Doe always was Penny is not believable imo cause if you know of Legoland, people would DEFINITELY know who she was, her fingerprints, law enforcement and the school having a strong enough inpression from her criminal activity and how unhinged she was when she was alive. There's just no way her death would have gone unnoticed if she was Penny before she died. So, she was definitely reincarnated as Penny. Not resurrected. You could argue that she got reincarnated as Penny, and then that is the actual Penny from Legoland, but like........ what would be the contextual clues and evidence if that's the case? The only thing would be that Jane (whoever she was before death) and Penny both go to the same school canonically, but like...... Penny also has a brother who goes to the same school..... so even if her parents were locked up while she was dead, her brother would've known so very easily. To say she didn't have a brother pre Jane Doe would be saying so without any actual contextual evidence.

2024.06.02 10:37 theawkguy Features missing in AWCC 6.x?

Hello, so I encountered the issue of AWCC disappearing from my Alienware X14 laptop like a few others on this subreddit, and had trouble reinstalling or updating. The final solution was to do a clean windows reinstall (this was slightly convenient as I was upgrading my SSD to 2TB either way).
Details of my device:
I finally have Alienware Command Center (AWCC) version 6.x. Although I have not spent too much time tinkering with this, I immediately noticed that a couple of options/features are missing from this version compared to AWCC 5.x.
For example: - I can no longer create a list of color presets for AlienFX lighting. In the previous version, I was able to create a list of presets and assign them to specific games, which would get triggered on launch.
- There are no options to change the colors of the power button LED. (In the previous version I was able to specify colors for battery/AC power)
Edit 1: Found it! I may be blind. In the AlienFX page, you have to click the little (i) button. One problem down!
- In the "Custom" fan curve setting, I do not see the temperature values vs the speed percentages. It is just a line... that I configure blindly???
- The option to create custom power profiles is no longer available. I guess this was basically useless either way; I am glad they retained the ability to set the GPU clock offsets.
Maybe I am missing something or don't know where to look. Are there any solutions to these missing features? If any of you could confirm that these are indeed gone, or if you have any suggestions for better alternatives/settings, I am open to testing them out. I understand this version is supposed to push forward a smoother, automated experience... I'd prefer a customized approach where I can control (to some degree) the behavior of my device.

2024.06.02 10:06 Opening_Lime1585 Kids damaging fence

Hi all, just some advice needed. We have a problem with a load of kids hanging around outside our neighbour's house, often invited by their daughter. They range from about 10 to 14 yo and there's usually on average about 7 of them outside their house on their tiny driveway and the noise is incredibly loud with their shouting and balls being hopped of walls and cars in the street; to the point you can't even have a window open.
We had a fence put up for privacy and the fact they damaged our plant pots when they first arrived and threw litter over our side. Please note that the fence is on OUR side of the property.
Anyway the kids are constantly leaning on it or trying to climb it or hitting footballs off of it, it's now severely weakened in several places where it's wobbly as hell, not to mention fencing slats that have been broken as well. We have asked them politely ( no swearing or shouting) to stop doing this and usually just get blank stares or some smartass comment. We have also approached the parents and expressed our concerns about the behaviour but it usually falls on deaf ears and the problem continues, despite saying any damages they will have to pay for.
Can anyone give any advice on what to do on this situation as its not going to stop. Only thing I can think of is complaining to the local council as anti social behaviour.
Thanks in advance.

2024.06.02 09:39 Halospite Searching for advice -- what (second hand) phone to get?

I have never owned a brand new iPhone in my life. Right now the battery of mine is dying -- it's an iPhone 7, and likes to tell me the battery is at, like, 20% or 50% and just then straight up die on me.
Normally I'd just replace the battery, but the iOS is at 15.8.2 and apps are starting to crash and glitch out. Apparently iOS is at 17.something but because my phone is so old (IIRC the iPhone 7 was released in 2016, tho I bought mine in 2020) the iOS no longer updates. I'm having problems accessing newer apps, my budgeting app constantly crashes, and my Apple wallet has decided to stop working.
Which really sucks because if I replaced the battery the phone itself would be fine. This is the first time I've run into the problem where the software got old before the hardware did.
So I guess it's time to splurge on a new phone.
I'm looking at another iPhone again because of the Apple music app. I have a music collection that's 20 years old next year, so having a music app that lets me access my own music and sort playlists into folders is a must, and I've never run into an Android music app that does both of those things. (Hint hint -- if anyone knows of any, please let me know!)
I'm looking at the SE 2020 and the SE 2022. SE 2020 is preferable in terms of price for second hand phones, but that means in another four years I'm going to have the same problem with the software dying of old age again. A 2022 would mean the software lasts longer, but is a higher upfront cost of just over $500AUD, which is usually more than I'd be comfortable spending on a phone. Plus the 2022 is a lot harder to get a hold of second hand.
What do you guys think?

2024.06.02 09:34 Ambitious_Wing_7187 Am I a spoiled brat?

I already know I am spoiled, I live with my retired grandmother and she is nowhere near struggling with money (not rich but like in between) so she likes to get me stuff. If I ask for something like a bag of chips or a new pair of shoes they say yes but I ask it very politely and try to not demand anything. Sometimes she gets me unicorn shirts or very girly clothing and I would not wear them but I feel really bad but I get anxious when I wear that stuff because I feel like people will make fun of me and I feel like it just doesn't match how I dress but when I tell her politely that I don't really like it but I do appreciate her thinking of me she threatens to not buy me anymore clothing but she does again and the cycle repeats. I feel really bad for making her angry but she calls me a brat all the time and I have been stressed out really bad lately. Depression and not a lot of motivation to do anything like clean my room, I scroll through social media and I usually don't do chores. I have adhd and a lot of my friends think I have autism from some behaviors (I still need to talk to a therapist or phsyciatrist still) and I am usually very anxious. That kinda affects me and henders me from doing things like dishes or cleaning my room. I also have a bad past with my grandma and aunt (they live together). In the past when I was a little kid (7-11) my aunt had and still has anger issues and would let all her anger out on me. She yelled constantly and caused my anxiety, idk of they are getting nicer or if I am doing better or if I just don't talk to them as much anymore but it has gotten better. I am not sure if I am overreacting or if they are in the wrong because at one point I thought they were mentally abusive and I told my therapist but they didn't take me seriously. Another thing that would put me under the category of brat would be that I get angry, but only recently.I get angry easily but I keep it in. sometimes I ask small questions like why is__ or blah blah blah and my grandma can't really understand what I'm saying and continually say she can't hear me or not know what I'm talking about. I know it's not her fault but it just gets me mad, I dont want to get so mad at her for stuff but I just give up and say never mind and that gets her even more mad, sorry if I over shared with you guys but I want to know if I'm a spoiled brat or if it is just from other problems like past childhood or disorders- tysm ^

2024.06.02 09:16 HelpDearGodHelpMe My mental state is weakening and I don't know if I can't keep it all up anymore

This is my first post so I'm sorry if it's way to long but I needed to get this out.
Trigger warnings: sa, suicidal ideation, physical abuse (kinda), neglect, stalking,
(These topics are mentioned but not explored deeply)
I (m19) have been losing everything it seems since I was 11 I think.
Off the bat I have autism, ADHD, a learning disability, and a bad family dynamic I think (this is apart of it), due to this and growing up in a town that's not very open minded I quickly became suicide. When I started therapy in middle school I would score as severely depressed every 2 weeks when the test was done. Along with talking to councilors, therapists, resurch and how life has been going I think I might have developed BPD and Narcissism.
Right before middle school I met S, they where my best friend and first "love". The day I met S I feel hard, and over the next 7 years my feelings would deepen. Our relationship dynamic was very toxic, we'd yell and scream at each other then the next day say we loved each other but if I didn't want to be there friend they wouldn't care and they'd echo this sintament in a million different ways that would userally come at the end of our fights. S would say things like "if I'm so mean then why are you still friends with me" or "that's a you problem" when I'd bring up a way they would make me feel, once they said "no wonder your dad doesn't love you" (this was years ago so I'm not sure if that's exactly what they said but the last 4 words where still in there) just to give you an idea of the kinda things they'd say.
On the other side, I would constantly make my personal episodes there problem, call them a bad person, accuse them of intentionally hurting me, I'd be extremely controlling of there relationships and just controlling in general. I'd also ask them to berate me, and call me any terrible thing they could think of, like a good friend they only did this a few times at first but then stopped. All this would be going on while I act like the guy best friend with feelings, I'd confess to them on avrage once a year in bigger and grander ways.
Other then S, there have been a lot of other unwell people I'd have to deal with. The actual scary ones where a couple rapists and one person who'd brag about sending there boyfriends on suicide watch. The rest where all either bullies or "crazy" people, either way I didn't care much, I was just happy I could live out a heros fantasy. Even though on paper I was a good guy, I only did it to feed my ego and feel secure. So even though I was hurting people who where hurting others it could have very easily been the other way around and a few times it was. I would stalk people in school, I'm not proud of it but it happened, ive also struggled with homosidle tendencies. One more thing, I was sa'd twice my freshman year which the school did nothing about, you could probably imagine how I feel.
My home life wasn't much better in my opinion, my autism crated a huge divide between my family and by existence everyone else. Out of my whole family I'm the most severe and most of us have autism (this is all my opinion) my mom has taken tests and is open to the idea but my brother (m20) doesn't see what I do, It would also make since for my dad but I don't know. This is important because my needs and acomedations are seen as to much for my family, and then when I went out into the world I didn't understand the social difference between my autistic family and the rest of the world. Whatever I learn out here is hard to communicate to my family and what I learn from my family isn't the best out here.
More specificly my brother would beat me up not super often but often enough for it to be a thing I was scared of for a long time. to be fair I did use to bite him when we where little which is what he mentioned when I brought up the times he'd beat me up, he also denied doing this to the extent I mentioned and said "all brothers fight". He has been teaching me about emotional intelligence recently because of my issus with being very defensive, this was after he stopped beating me up for a while so I think he's changed. But he still says things like "why do you look like that" or "you smell" as a joke, I've asked him to stop but he's never stopped. He also makes jokes about sexualizing animals, children, and even made incest jokes just because I have a funny reaction. I've told him to stop because it makes me uncomfortable but after high school I gave up, he hasn't made these jokes in a while and thankfully the ones about kids are ferthar in the past then the others. When he didn't stop I told him I would tell my friends that he made these jokes and he said that he wouldn't care.
Other then him, my mom recently called me to yell at me about the traffic being bad, the phone called ended with me throwing my headphones and yelling about killing myself in a school building. To be brief.
My dad was just super neglectful, nights I'd go hungry, he cooked only 2 times for me and my brother. Once I had to take him to the bathroom because he was to drunk to know he wasn't in the bathroom. This should be enough.
In modern day.
I'm in college for acting and writing, I haven't lived with my dad for years and he recently took out a EBT card under my name. I got in a car crash a year ago, in the same week I got it, my mom yells at me to drive and yells at me to not drive without insurance, she yells at me for not being prepared wile packing my bags for college for me wile not letting me do it on my own. My mom offers help but then complains about everyone catering to me and yells at me about every single unplanned step. My brother is trying to help me but he doesn't except that I'm disabled or that the issues I bring to him are as bad as I say they are, he buys me fast food almost everyday I'm home though. All the other freshman in my college ghosted me at once after the car crash (for real, I get back from the crash, everyone's int he commons, one person asked if I was okay, the other people from the crash show up and everyone flocks to them and I still don't understand why), this caused rummers about me to be created and at the end of the year it got so bad that a group calls me a pedophile. Even though all the shit I've had to deal with just at school I found someone, F. F is super caring and kind because they really do care. Simply put, niceness is transactional, your nice to someone you expect them to be nice back. F just gives all away and expects nothing in return, they've been helping me with my family and school issues along with the mental shit and their just all around a good person.
Even though things are better and I have someone I like, I feel miserable. Everyday it gets harder and harder to keep myself from letting go and do fucked up things to people just because I see something I like or that I'm intereged in, I have a need to feel power and to know everything I can out of insecurities which I've mentioned in this post. I also wanna break up with F but because I know I will hurt them like everyone else in my life, and I'm not sure if I'm with then for them because there the only person who supports or if it's all the free weed. And like the Annabelle movies, my obsession over S isn't and probably won't ever go away as it gets stronger and more annoying.
So after all this I don't know if I should keep fighting until I can't anymore which feels soon, or finally kill my self which I don't think is likely but if not me then I'm scared of who it could be one day. I will continue to try and work though this anyway unless I make a decision, then I'll try to make an update.
Also please let me know if this is violating the Staying on topic rule.
Thank you.

2024.06.02 09:07 PomegranateLong3277 Where I am right now

Iā€™ll start about 2 years ago.
Looking back life was good. I was happy, about to be a senior in high school. I worked hard to get to the point I was at. It seemed like all summer I had something to look forward to, not worried about anything the future has in store. This is about the last time I can say I felt like myself.
Flash forward 2 years, a college student dealing with normal stress and other things. But as Iā€™m writing this right now, I have no self identity. It took my so long to be happy with myself and I have been slowly declining in about every aspect of my mental health for the past year. I feel completely different when Iā€™m with my friends, I donā€™t even know how to act anymore. I basically lost my social skills, I donā€™t talk to girls anymore, Iā€™ve lost my ability to make new friends, itā€™s like everything that was good about me is gone. Iā€™m a completely different person.
Iā€™ve lost all my passions, goals, and confidence. Hell, I canā€™t even tell you the last time Iā€™ve been in a good mood. Itā€™s like all I do is sit in my room waiting for the time to pass. The only good thing about my days are going to the gym. I have constant thoughts in my head 24/7 itā€™s like I donā€™t even have control of my mind.
Iā€™ve always dealt with things such as depersonalization, ADHD and depression, throughout my whole life, although never needed help because it didnā€™t effect me like it does now.
I really donā€™t know how serious this is because I guess Iā€™m scared that there really is something wrong with me.
I could go on for hours writing about more of my problems but this is just the basis. I really donā€™t know what do to anymore.

2024.06.02 08:42 HyperRedditGuy ASUS TUF FX505DV sudden fps drops

My laptop has been getting sudden FPS drops recently
I have an RTX 2070 and a Ryzen 7 3750H with 8 gigabytes of RAM
My usual fps is around 100-144 since that's my laptops refresh rate but it drops to 3-20 FPS
The problem started about 3 months ago and the same issue happened with my sister's T15 last year. I tried uninstalling armoury crate and reinstalling windows but the issue keeps on reappearing. I even tried cleaning out the fans but it stayed the same

As someone who was constantly struggling to find the perfect storage solution for my eclectic collection of trinkets, I was thrilled when I came across the Proman Products WM17261 Clear Acrylic Spine Wall Floating Shelves Decor, Bookshelf. The sleek acrylic design really caught my eye and piqued my interest.
The first thing I noticed upon setting up the shelves was their sturdy construction. Made from solid pine wood, they exuded a sense of durability that left me confident in their ability to hold up against daily wear and tear. The black neutral finish was also a bonus, as it allowed me to seamlessly blend the shelves into my existing decor.
However, one area where these shelves fell short was their space-saving design. While they were perfect for preserving valuable floor space in my small apartment, I found that they didn't have enough room to hold some of my larger items comfortably.
Despite this minor hiccup, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the shelves performed in terms of storage capacity. With five shelves offering ample real estate to display my favorite books, picture frames, and collectibles, I was able to showcase every item with pride.
In terms of appearance, I couldn't have asked for a better addition to my living space. The clean, modern lines of the shelves were the perfect complement to my contemporary aesthetic, and they made a real statement when placed alongside my other decorative accents.
Overall, my experience with the Proman Products WM17261 Clear Acrylic Spine Wall Floating Shelves Decor, Bookshelf has been a positive one. Despite a minor space issue and a slightly higher price point than I had initially anticipated, the combination of durability, style, and ample storage capacity more than made up for it.

I recently came across the MoNiBloom Narrow Bookcase, a slim and elegant addition to any home or office decor. As a lover of modern decor in my home, I was intrigued by the Claimed Corner Large Modern Clear Leaning Wall Bookshelf. It was a breath of fresh air to have an acrylic, non-wood bookshelf that could easily blend into the modern design of our living space. Its multifunctionality allowed it to be placed in various rooms, making this versatile bookshelf even more appealing.
The sturdy construction of the bookshelf was really impressive. It had strong acrylic frames that could hold up to 30lbs each, guaranteeing durability. The mounting hole and hardware made the entire process of securing it to the wall a breeze. Despite its industrial-strength design, the bookshelf's modern aesthetic never compromised.
My only concern was the limited space for displaying books on each shelf, which at times made it challenging to store all my books. Nevertheless, I managed to work around it, arranging and rotating the books to ensure they fit nicely. Despite this drawback, the bookshelf exceeded my expectations in terms of utility and style, becoming a beloved part of our home decor.

It's lightweight and easy to move around to different rooms, making it incredibly versatile.
The adjustable lower shelves are super helpful for storing books of varying sizes, and the sturdy structure ensures the bookshelf won't topple over. This tall, elegant piece has a warm-toned brass finish that perfectly complements the cool strength of the acrylic and glass components. I recently added this bookcase to my living space, and let me tell you, it makes quite a statement.
One of my favorite aspects of this bookshelf is its weight capacity of 66 pounds. It may not seem like much, but it was more than enough for my collection of books and decorative pieces. However, be prepared to assemble it yourself, as the instruction manual is not the easiest to follow.
The brass finish on the bookshelf is quite impressive, offering a subtle shimmer that catches the light just right. The acrylic and glass components are of high quality, ensuring that the shelf will maintain its timeless fashion for years to come. The only downside is that the item seems to be quite fragile, as some users have reported damaged items upon delivery.
Despite the occasional quality concern, the Safavieh Hayley Acrylic Bookshelf in Brass is a stunning addition to any room. It's the perfect blend of luxury and modern design, offering a touch of glamour to any space. While the assembly process can be a bit challenging, the end result is definitely worth the effort.

One of the features that stood out to me is the clarity of the acrylic material. Size and Capacity

Consider the number of books and items you plan to store when choosing a size for your acrylic bookshelf. Measure the space where the bookshelf will be placed to ensure a proper fit. Also, consider the height of the bookshelf to accommodate larger books or other items.

Shelf Count and Depth

Determine the number and depth of shelves needed for your books and decorative items. Shelves with deeper depths can hold larger items, while shallow shelves are better for smaller objects. The number of shelves will affect the overall size of the bookshelf, so make sure to choose a size that accommodates the desired number of shelves.

Material Thickness

Acrylic bookshelves are typically made of clear acrylic or a clear acrylic with a tint, ensuring that your books and decorative items remain the center of attention. The thickness of the material should be considered for both durability and appearance. Thicker acrylic provides more stability and reduces the risk of warping or bending, while thinner acrylic can be more susceptible to damage.

  • Check the return or exchange policy of the seller in case you need to make a change after receiving the bookshelf.

2024.06.02 08:26 moukiez WiFi and Bluetooth keep disabling themselves, shows no networks, and laptop freezes and has trouble turning on/restarting properly, all since yesterday.

I'm at my wit's end, hopefully someone can help me resolve this issue. I apologize for the deluge of text you're about to read.
My laptop is an Acer ConceptD 7 Ezel CC715-71, running Windows 11 Pro. I got it late 2020 I believe, and aside from the sound no longer working a few months in and the finger print sensor saying it can't recognize my fingerprint after like a handful of uses until I reset/re-register the fingerprints and anew, only for the process to repeat yet again, it's been perfect.
(I was living in Canada at the time and imported it from the States, so after all the hassle with customs, it wasn't worth jumping through all those hoops to send it back again, even if it was ridiculous that the sound and fingerprint sensor stopped working just a few months in for such an expensive device.)
Fast forward four years to yesterday, and it was working fine, but I went to the bathroom and came back, and suddenly the WiFi wasn't working. It was fine on every other device/phone/laptop/Steam Deck, but no matter what I did, the WiFi refused to connect.
In the past, I've had issues with this laptop being the only device to not connect to the WiFi network in this building, but now it's not detecting any networks. It claims the WiFi is on, but checking in the settings show it isn't. Clicking it on refuses to engage, either failing to do so, or looking like it complies before immediately turning itself off.
Then the WiFi icon/option would disappear entirely, and the Bluetooth did the same. I would find the Bluetooth setting in the Device Manager window when I enable "Show Hidden Devices", but I don't know how or why it was hidden.
My Network Adapter (Intel (R) Wi-Fi 6 AX201160MHz, I believe) would be disabled, and checking the Event tab in the Properties would say things like "Device not started (Netwtw10)" and "Device configured (oem91.inf)" and things like that.
I would try updating, downloading the latest drivers from Acer for my laptop using my phone and transfer it to my phone and try to install them, and sometimes it would say it installed and works, but other times it would say it detected the drivers I wanted to install but failed to install them.
I've tried disabling and enabling the driver, uninstalling and reinstalling it, deleting it and restarting the laptop to automatically get it again (not sure how it did so without the internet, but it would be there, every time), and doing the same for the Bluetooth driver.
Sometimes the WiFi would work for like all of a minute or two, before it would become disabled and find no networks and there would be an error with the driver and the event log saying things like the Device didn't start, and once or twice I think I saw it say "WiFi Device Cannot Start (code 10)".
At this point I was ready to give up and just use my phone as a hotspot for my laptop to connect to and call it a day until I could care enough again, but even that wasn't applicable, because that option for Mobile Hotspot was grayed out and said something about how I couldn't connect it no Ethernet or Wifi device connected. (Specifically, it says "We can't set up mobile hotspot because your PC doesn't have an Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or cellular data connection.)
All through this, my laptop started being fucking weird in that if I clicked "restart", it wouldn't turn itself back on. I'd have to press the power button to do so, and even then, it often wouldn't. I've tried power cycling like three fucking trillion times, and it would never work consistently or turn on after I've let the lights blink several times or waited 30 seconds or 60 seconds or longer.
(Aaaaaaaand I suspected my WiFi would be a bitch again and so I tried to send what I've typed out on the laptop to my phone via Telegram (because typing all this on my phone was getting tedious), but of course, the WiFi went out the SECOND I tried. I was using the Mobile Hotspot option immediately just in case my normal WiFi network went out, but it still disabled itself and wouldn't stay online via Mobile HotSpot when the option was available/not grayed out like it is now.
So I'm going to have to save this wall of text as a text document or something and manually transfer it to my phone.)
I finally decided to do a system restore, selecting one from May 26th, and it took like 30 - 45+ minutes, and of course it didn't restart itself, but when I finally managed to find the right power cycle attempt to get it to turn on, my laptop said the system restore was a success.
Huzzah! It was working. For 30 minutes.
šŸ˜
So I tried to download MalwareBytes on my phone, and it downloaded then I transferred it to my laptop, and of course it needed to connect to the internet to download the rest of itself, so it wasn't conducive to anything in this situation.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and I (foolishly) thought I had solved my WiFi/Bluetooth issues last night and was even feeling galvanized to try and open up the bottom of my laptop and see if the sound issue I've been avoiding dealing with/coping by using Bluetooth earbuds/headphones for the past four years was as simple as something being unplugged, so I went to get my strebito kit, which I see everywhere around me and in my vicinity, except of course (you guessed it) the one time in four years that I actually genuinely needed it :))))))))))))))))
I also got a BSOD today, and I think I glimpsed it saying something like "ACPI block management", but it was very quick so I can't be sure. I tried to google that, but the only ACPI answers I could see in relation to googling it for reddit solutions (lol I love that everyone has had a problem before and that there is invariably a reddit thread with that exact problem, situation, and solution) were in relation to ACPI BIOS errors, so it may have been that.
I tried accessing the BIOS (which took a lot and trial of error in power cycling because of how inconsistent it is that my laptop has been with turning on since yesterday). Of course, I had apparently previously set a BIOS password when trying to allow my laptop to boot into Batocera like a year or so ago, and I apparently am not intelligent enough to have had the foresight to write it down in a note or document on my phone, despite me knowing my ADHD/memory is garbagio, so I always make it a POINT to do so, because I don't trust my powers of recollection (and apparently, as evidenced by this instance, with good fucking reason!).
Of course, I forgot to mention that now my laptop freezes, including when I was writing up a majority of this thread in the aforementioned notepad, so now I can't even transfer it and have to re-type what few paragraphs I see (I had JUST scrolled down to make more distance between the bottom of the text and the document because I hate not having that visual buffer between the text and the bottom of the window, it makes me feel like the text is running out or more difficult to see/continue) on my phone anyways, so that was yet another obstacle. šŸ™ƒ
So, to summarize:
  1. Laptop's WiFi/Bluetooth keep disabling themselves and the Bluetooth keeps hiding itself, so not even the icon is visible. The WiFi can't find any networks, and refuses to turn on (even though it says it does when I toggle it), and when it's like this, I cannot connect via Mobile Hotspot either.
  2. The laptop is being very peculiar about it restarting, only does so if I press the power again after it shuts down (despite me selecting restart), and even then, only sometimes. I keep having to power cycle it to try and find the perfect sweet spot to let go and have it actually turn on.
  3. The laptop now freezes within 20 or so minutes, and stays that way until I restart the laptop.
  4. Sometimes it tells me that a driver reinstall works, other times it says it doesn't.
  5. The driver events say that the device did not start, and error 10.
  6. The laptop showed a Blue Screen of Death today, and the error said "ACPI" followed by (what I think it was) "block management" or (what it probably was) "BIOS error".
  7. I set a BIOS password that I do not remember.
  8. I do not have access to my Strebito toolkit to open up the laptop, nor do I have money to take it to BestBuy Geek Squad or wherever does laptop repair.
  9. My laptop speakers do not work, despite sound apparently playing based on the animation/sound waves playing in the sound settings when media is active, and stops when nothing is playing, leading me to believe maybe something has been unplugged for like 4 years internally.
  10. (I have many a time tried to uninstall, reinstall, download, and update Realtek drivers, but no sound comes from my speakers.)
  11. I managed to run MalwareBytes, and it said it found a Neshta virus in a CEMU/WiiU emulator I downloaded literally years ago in the CEMUHOOK.DLL file), which I assume was present even in the system restore done yesterday backed up from 6 days ago. Apparently there was also Yontoo adware. I have since quarantined them.
  12. (I should perhaps also note I rarely if ever use CEMU, and certainly haven't within the past two years, if not longer. I just like having access should I do desire on a whim to play.)
  13. The problems (aside from the missing sound) started just yesterday, when I was away from the computer briefly, so it's even more vexing because I wasn't there at the onset of the issue or saw what caused it.
  14. I'm incredibly reticent to do a clean install/start from scratch because I have so much stuff I'd have to reconfigure and download and reinstall because I'm a very particular person, and that would be so insanely time-consuming, you don't even know. If there's anything short of nuking this laptop that can help resolve these issues, that's what I would like to find out. I'm aware this is not the optimal/best idea, but I'm willing to deal with that in the future.
  15. I do not have access to the router, as this is a building and they handle the Wi-Fi.
Either the universe or my own hubris and ineptitude keep trying to humble me, so I require patience and assistance. Please. And thank you. šŸ˜ Whatever steps, whatever instructions, as long as they're clear and step by step, I can provide whatever you might need to deduce what the issue is and what a solution might be.
Edit: Of course, as soon as I do everything in my power to try and get it done and finally admit defeat and resort to outside help from the community, the internet seems to be stable for the moment. I'm hesitant to turn off my laptop and restart again to see if that's still an issue.

So, I decided to download the playlist on YouTube. I often do this with the help of YouTube-DLG, and if on Windows everything worked as it should, then on Fedora everything went downhill... During my time sailing on the open seas, I encountered a predicament where my boat's batteries were not being charged properly. That's when I stumbled upon the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay. This ingenious device quickly solved my problem, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
The Blue Sea Charging Relay has an automatic charging system that manages the charging of two large battery banks, which was essential in my case. Additionally, it allows me to parallel my battery banks during emergency starting, providing me with that extra peace of mind while out at sea.
Another impressive feature was the 500 Ampere continuous rating, which supported my high-output alternators. This device truly proved its worth by handling the heavy-duty charging tasks with ease.
However, there was one minor issue I encountered - the dual sensing system that senses the charge on both battery banks sometimes caused a bit of confusion while troubleshooting. But overall, the pros outweighed the cons, and I wholeheartedly recommend the Blue Sea 7621100 ml ACR Charging Relay to any sailor in need of a reliable battery management solution.

The Alpha Wire 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire is the perfect solution for your electrical needs. It's a 24AWG stranded copper wire that's silver-coated for enhanced conductivity.
The black PTFE jacket provides an excellent insulating layer, making it durable and resistant to wear and tear. The wire is compact, with a 0.036" diameter and a thickness of just 0.006", allowing for easy installation without compromising on its strength. And with a voltage rating of 250V, you can rest easy knowing that it's perfectly designed to handle most household appliances.
I've found that not only does it work well in my daily life, but it's also quite reliable in terms of durability. Overall, this 2844/7 BK001 hook-up wire from Alpha Wire is a top-notch product that I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a reliable hook-up wire.

https://preview.redd.it/wlecdi06p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b800e5142af720f1ec92550a3f19845540f0f8d5
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System, and I must say, it's a game-changer for boaters. This small yet powerful device has saved me on more than one occasion. Say goodbye to those "Man Overboard" panics and hello to a reassuring safety net for your crew.
One thing that stood out to me was the base station's ability to connect with up to 15 wearable or float transmitters. It's like having a virtual lifeline for your crew, all within arm's reach. I particularly love the option to connect to the ACR Olas mobile app, which provides directional screens and essential MOB positioning prompts during recovery operations.
However, there were a few things I wish were different. For example, the device could be a bit more user-friendly, especially for people who may not be comfortable using technology. Also, I found the wearable transmitters to be a bit bulky, which might be an issue for those who want a sleeker look. But overall, the ACR Olas Core Base Station and Mob Alarm System certainly has my seal of approval.

šŸ”—ACR HydroFix EPIRB Release Unit: Seamless Emergency Beacon Release

https://preview.redd.it/57x7v0h6p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff1d8c07162364b1500a9a3a63945bc6e500b675
I recently had the chance to try out the ACR Sea Shelter unit, part of the HydroFix Hydrostatic Release Unit family, and let me tell you, it truly lives up to its reputation as a reliable and user-friendly device.
One of the standout features of this unit is its compatibility with various ACR EPIRB categories. I found the installation process to be incredibly smooth, thanks to the included ACR Sea Shelter, Sea Shelter2, and Sea Shelter3 brackets. These brackets made fitting the unit onto my EPIRB a breeze.
Another great aspect of this release unit is its lack of reliance on battery, blade, or pyrotechnic device to release the beacon when an emergency occurs. The design is built for a quick, seamless, and dependable release in such situations.
However, I did notice that this product is date-stamped and must be replaced every two years from the date of installation or four years from the date of manufacture. While this might seem like a minor inconvenience, it's a good incentive to ensure your device is always up-to-date and functioning at its best.
Overall, my experience with the ACR Sea Shelter unit was very positive. The ease of installation, reliable release mechanism, and compatibility with various EPIRBs make it a valuable investment for anyone looking to ensure their safety at sea. Highly recommended!

The ACR ResQLink View RLS beacon I've been using in my outdoor escapades is a remarkably compact and robust device. It's been meticulously designed, tested, and engineered to withstand even the most extreme environmental conditions. This beacon is also buoyant, which gives it an added edge in watery adventures.
One feature that really stands out is the Return Link Service (RLS) functionality. It's reassuring to know that if I ever need help, my distress message will be received, and my location detected, giving me peace of mind. The device also has a handy digital display that provides live status updates, and with no subscription needed, I don't have to worry about hidden costs.
The battery life is impressive, with a 5-year lifespan and an operational life of 28 hours. However, it's worth mentioning that the device is quite lightweight, which might affect its overall durability. But considering its excellent features and performance, I'd say the ResQLink View RLS is a top choice for anyone seeking a personal locator beacon.

The Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression, aka the Acr Electronics 2844, is a meticulously crafted conduit fitting that boasts an impressive 5.0 rating out of 16 reviews. Designed for EMT conduit, this connector offers a natural finish and robust die-cast zinc construction.
As someone who's been on the receiving end of this product, their CSA and UL listed standards left me confident with the quality of the build. The 2.19 inch overall length and 3.5 inch trade size make this connector a versatile option for your conduit fittings, while the compression connector design provides secure and concrete-tight connections. The ease of wrench installation is also a major plus, as it ensures a snug fit without any hassle.
However, I should note that this connector is non-insulated, so it may not be the best option for certain applications where insulation is a requirement. Additionally, the connector's zinc material may be subject to slight corrosion over time, which could slightly hinder its longevity. Nonetheless, the Raco 2844 Cast Uninsulated Compression is a reliable and efficient conduit fitting, perfect for those seeking a solid, wrench-installed connection in their electrical projects.

šŸ”—Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire - 24AWG, Brown, 305M Cable

https://preview.redd.it/9d5e9gk7p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a8c7e9b72b1d040ac5bc56663d7684b3a59f0804
I've been using the Alpha Wire 2844/7 BR001 Hook-Up Wire for a while now, and it's been a game-changer in my daily life. The stranded copper, silver-coated conductor and PTFE jacket insulation make it a reliable and durable option, perfect for hooking up my electronic devices.
The 24 AWG wire gauge and 305m length have made it easy to work with, and I appreciate the flexibility it provides. The brown jacket insulation has a nice touch and is easy to spot in my messy workspace.
However, one thing I've noticed is that the voltage rating of 250V might not be suitable for all applications, so I had to double-check to make sure it was compatible with my devices.
Overall, the Alpha Wire Hook-Up Wire is a reliable and convenient solution for my electronics needs, and I highly recommend it for others looking for a high-quality wire.

šŸ”—Weather-Resistant Audio Intercom with Hands-Free Loudspeaking

https://preview.redd.it/iwf03qx7p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ec4c2c0665ec78774b1e1c5f72024e2bb2066d5
Using the Alpha Communications AM612/04S in my daily life has been a breeze. The hands-free loudspeaking feature works really well, allowing me to communicate without any hassle. The weather-resistant mylar speaker is a standout feature, as it ensures the device performs optimally outdoors, withstanding various weather conditions. The self-wiping push button switches are convenient, providing hassle-free access to the intercom.
However, one downside I've encountered is the presence of plastic buttons and grille, which might not be as durable as I'd like it to be. Additionally, the decorative end caps, while visually appealing, seem a bit flimsy. I've also noticed that the slim-line surface-mount option can cause some installation challenges when mounting the device directly on the wall, despite it being easy to install overall.

šŸ”—Violet 24AWG Alpha Wire Hook-Up

https://preview.redd.it/0qdh67g8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14776e54330273e6d08353a6f1830dbd2598cc93
I was tasked with reviewing an Alpha Wire 2844/7 VI001, a Hook-Up Wire with a 24 AWG copper conductor, coated in violet PTFE insulation. I found the product both durable and visually appealing. The silver coating on the conductor gives it a professional look, while the violet insulation is easier to spot in a busy lab or workshop.
However, I did notice a minor downside. Connecting and disconnecting the wire from its terminals can sometimes be a bit tricky due to the conductor's small size. Despite this minor inconvenience, the wire held up well in my daily use, and I'd recommend it for anyone seeking a reliable and attractive hook-up wire solution in their electrical projects.

šŸ”—15A Rackmount Power Sequencer with 9 Outlets - ETL Listed, EMI/RFI Filtering, and Dual Activation Delay

https://preview.redd.it/bxeintk8p34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcf3d45eac75a7bbb9559d105613e3e3bca93def
I recently had the chance to try out Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer, and I have to say, it made quite an impact in my daily life. The first thing that caught my eye was its compact design. It fits easily into any standard rack, and its steel chassis feels sturdy and reliable.
What stood out the most for me was the sequencer's ability to control the power flow to my devices. The front rocker switch effortlessly activated and deactivated the "switched" outlets in the back. The adjustable delay of 0.5 to 10 seconds between each step allowed me to tailor the power sequence to my specific needs.
But, the highlight of this product for me has to be the LED status indicators. They are color-coded and make it incredibly easy to understand the status of each powered device. The addition of the optional momentary remote switches is also a nice touch for those who require hands-free control.
The only downside I found was the lack of an on/off switch. While not a deal-breaker for me, it may be something others consider when purchasing this power sequencer.
Overall, Lowell ACR-SEQ4-1509 15A Rackmount Power Sequencer is a handy tool that makes managing my power connections a breeze. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to streamline their power distribution.

https://preview.redd.it/dj7r48cap34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8472af3a5a158a87bf8b096aa88139eea0c97757
As a boater, I've always been wary of traditional pyrotechnic flares for safety reasons. That's why, when I came across the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag, I knew I had to give it a try. This innovative device has been designed to provide a safer, more reliable alternative to traditional pyrotechnic flares and can even be carried in lieu of them.
What stood out the most was the 360-degree visibility from over six miles away. Not only did it provide excellent visibility during emergencies, but it also had a significantly longer burn time than traditional flares. Its lightweight, compact size, and floatability made it incredibly easy to use ā€“ all while being fungus, corrosion, and water-resistant.
The ACR ResQFlare also comes with a distress flag, which, when carried together, qualifies as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares. It's a perfect addition to any ditch bag, especially considering that it doesn't go out of date, saving me time and avoids the hassle of replacement.
One downside I faced was the lack of a lanyard attached to the device. While it floats upright in water, there are better options available that might be more visible in daylight compared to the ACR ResQFlare. However, as a safety device, the ACR ResQFlare still gets the job done without the risk of fire or injury.
In conclusion, the ACR ResQFlare Electronic Distress Flare & Flag is a great addition to any boater's safety arsenal. It's easy to use, safe, and provides excellent visibility during emergencies. Its longevity and added convenience make it a worthy choice as a replacement for traditional pyrotechnic flares.

https://preview.redd.it/y30goea3l34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=130a83dbc1fbec4d71d7bcbc2dd038a3a0602e9e
As someone who frequently travels with their family, the Sub-Zero SZ345 1 Refrigerant Kit has been a game-changer. My children and I were constantly sweaty and uncomfortable, even with the air conditioning running full blast. I heard about the Sub-Zero kit from a friend who said it had helped cool down their vehicle.
I decided to give it a try and picked up a can at my local auto parts store. Using the kit was incredibly easy, thanks to the included recharge hose and gauge. The Cool Boost technology in the refrigerant helped my vehicle's air conditioning produce colder air in no time.
One of my favorite features of this kit is its ability to seal common leaks in rubber components and extend the life of the A/C system by eliminating acid and moisture buildup. I noticed that after using the Sub-Zero kit, my vehicle's AC stayed consistently cold, even during long drives in hot weather.
However, there was one downside to the product ā€“ the relatively short hose. It made it difficult to attach the kit to my vehicle's AC port in certain situations. Nonetheless, the Sub-Zero SZ345 1 Refrigerant Kit has greatly improved the comfort of my car, making it a must-have for any driver experiencing a lackluster AC system.

šŸ”—Multifunctional A/C Diagnostic Manifold Gauge Set with 5ft Hoses

https://preview.redd.it/o5x4xwz3l34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fff56d52939440a15d2e234a05ae9d4a5651064
I've recently started using a multifunctional AC gauge set - an automatic air conditioning diagnostic manifold gauge set - to keep track of my car's air conditioning system. The set is compatible with R 134A, R12, R22, and R502 refrigerants, perfect for checking, charging, evacuating, and recovering work.
One thing that really stood out for me was the extra large and color-coded dials. They made it super easy to read the pressure, even in bright daylight. The sight glass design allowed me to see the liquid refrigerant flowing, which helped me keep track of everything while I charged the system.
The set also came with four extra long, 5-foot high impact hoses, each with a precise valve core depressor and 45-degree bend for easy access. These hoses are rated at 600 psi max working pressure and 3000 psi burst pressure, so I feel confident using them with my car's air conditioning system.
However, there are a few things that could be improved upon. The upgraded gauge shell is a nice touch, but I found that some of the metal parts were slightly difficult to maneuver. Additionally, it would be nice if the gauge shell were a bit more robust, as it's not as durable as it could be.
Overall, I've found the multifunctional AC gauge set to be a useful tool for managing my car's air conditioning system. I appreciate the extra large and color-coded dials, as well as the sight glass design, and the hoses are a nice touch as well. However, I do think there could be a few improvements made in terms of the gauge shell's durability and the ease of use of some of the metal parts.
Anecdote:
One day, while driving to work, I noticed that my car's air conditioning system wasn't working as well as it used to. I decided to give the multifunctional AC gauge set a try, to see if it could help me pinpoint the problem.
I started by connecting the hoses to the appropriate points on the gauge set and on my car's air conditioning system. I then turned on the system and observed the pressure readings on the gauge set's dials.
To my surprise, I found that the pressure was much lower than it should have been, indicating a leak in the system. I used the gauge set to track down the leak and was able to repair it with a little bit of effort.
After the repair, I used the gauge set again to check that the system was working properly, and I was happy to see that the pressure readings were now within the normal range.
Since then, I've used the multifunctional AC gauge set on a number of occasions, and I've found it to be a valuable tool for managing my car's air conditioning system.

šŸ”—18 oz EZ Chill Refrigerator Recharge Kit with Leak Sealer

https://preview.redd.it/7r8ccv55l34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e6b91c33c9938aeae7d337586e9bde51e2a011ac
As someone who frequently takes road trips, especially during hot summer days, I know the importance of having a well-functioning air conditioning system in my car. So, when I came across the EZ Chill 18 oz recharge kit, I decided to give it a try, and boy, am I glad I did!
The first thing that really struck me about this product was its convenience. It came with a self-dispensing can that had a built-in filling hose and a low-pressure in-line gauge, which made the whole process of recharging the AC a breeze. The fact that the gauge is reusable also means that I can easily monitor the pressure in my system in the future, without having to rely on any guesswork.
Before trying out EZ Chill, I had been dealing with a slightly underpowered AC system for quite some time, and honestly, it was starting to get on my nerves. But, as soon as I connected the hose to the low pressure port on my vehicle's AC system and started recharging, I could feel the difference almost instantly. The AC was much colder and more effective in cooling down the car, which made my road trips much more comfortable, especially during long drives.
However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, as there were a couple of aspects of this product that could use some improvement. First of all, while the instructions provided on the can were relatively easy to follow, they could have been a bit more detailed and helpful for beginners. Additionally, I found the valve on the can to be a bit sticky, which made it difficult to control the flow of refrigerant.
Overall, I would highly recommend the EZ Chill 18 oz recharge kit to anyone who's looking for an easy and cost-effective solution to their underpowered AC problems. While there are a few minor drawbacks, such as the need for more detailed instructions and a sticky valve, the convenience and effectiveness of this product make it a solid choice for anyone looking to improve their driving experience during the hot summer months.

šŸ”—Avalanche R134a Refrigerant Recharge Kit

https://preview.redd.it/co6ikdo5l34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad8ef34b39ab7f68124b65c1ec0cc2fb085c619a
I recently purchased the AC Avalanche R134a refrigerant recharge kit, and I'm happy to report that it has significantly improved the performance of my vehicle's air conditioning system. The Smart Clip Technology was a real game-changer for me, as it made it incredibly easy to monitor the refrigerant charge and prevent any potential overcharging issues.
The digital pressure gauge included in the kit was another highlight, allowing me to recharge the system based on both temperature and pressure for a safe and accurate result. I appreciated its ease of use and readability, as it worked seamlessly with any R-134a refrigerant can.
Another feature that stood out was the Hybrid-Safe Formula, which allowed me to use this recharge kit with both my regular vehicle and my hybrid without any issues. The re-useable recharge hose with a self-sealing valve type was also a nice touch, ensuring that everything was securely connected throughout the recharging process.
Finally, the system-safe chemical additive mentioned in the product description has been incredibly effective at stopping leaks in o-rings and other rubber components, helping to prolong the life of my air conditioning system.
However, there were a few minor drawbacks that I encountered during my use of the kit. The hose provided with the kit was a bit short for my personal preference, making it somewhat challenging to work with in certain situations. Additionally, while the product description claims that the refrigerant formula can improve the a/c's cooling capabilities, I didn't notice a significant difference in that area.
All things considered, I would still highly recommend the AC Avalanche R134a refrigerant recharge kit to anyone looking to improve the performance of their vehicle's air conditioning system. Its ease of use, safety features, and effectiveness at preventing leaks make it a worthwhile investment for any car owner.

I recently found myself in need of a car air conditioner recharge, so I decided to try out the Interdynamics 12 oz R-134a Refrigerant. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to use and how effective it was in restoring cold air to my vehicle.
The self-sealing can was a major plus for me, as it meant I didn't need to worry about any extras or additives. The EPA compliance is also a great feature, ensuring that I'm using a product that's safe for both my car and the environment.
However, there were a few cons that I encountered while using this product. Firstly, the instructions on the can were not very clear, which could lead to some confusion for first-time users. Additionally, I found that I had to purchase a separate recharge hose, which added an extra cost to the overall process.
Overall, I would recommend the Interdynamics 12 oz R-134a Refrigerant to anyone in need of a car air conditioner recharge. The ease of use, safety features, and effectiveness make it a great choice for those looking to save some money on a professional recharge.

šŸ”—Recharge Arctic Freeze R134a for Your A/C System

As a car owner, I've experienced my fair share of air conditioning issues. That's why when I came across the Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic Recharging Kit with UV Dye & UV Light, I knew I had to give it a try. This all-in-one solution not only replaces lost refrigerant and oil in my car's A/C system, but also seals common leaks in rubber hose, gaskets, and o-rings, while the UV dye helps identify and prevent future leaks. One of the best features is how quickly it cools down the air - 50% faster than other similar products!
One aspect that really stands out is how easy it is to use. The reusable trigger dispenser comes with a gauge and temperature dial indicator, making it incredibly simple to monitor the pressure and temperature of your A/C system. Plus, the elimination of moisture and acid ensures that your system stays in tip-top shape.
However, one con is the price. The kit only comes in a two-container package, which may be more than what some users need, especially if they already have a pressure gauge. Nonetheless, the effectiveness of the product and its ability to quickly locate leaks make it worth the investment.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with the Arctic Freeze Recharge Kit. It has made a significant difference in the performance of my car's air conditioning. Highly recommended!

Additionally, the automatic air purge feature eliminates damaging air without the need for continuous monitoring or manual valve opening.
Another highlight of this product is its impressive display, which includes a 4.3-inch color graphics screen and even supports multiple languages. The built-in programmable vacuum function is also incredibly useful, with a default setting of 15 minutes and the ability to be programmed up to 99 minutes, complete with a "remaining time" display.
While the Robinair 34288NI may not be the most compact or lightweight model on the market, its high-quality performance and user-friendly design more than make up for its size. Whether you're a professional mechanic or a DIY enthusiast, this recharge kit is definitely worth considering for your A/C maintenance needs.

I recently got my hands on the Interdynamics MB-134A Charging Kit with Metal Fittings, and I must say it has been a game-changer for my vehicle's air conditioning system. The all-metal construction and quick-connect coupler make it incredibly easy to use, even for someone like me who is not particularly mechanically inclined.
One of the standout features of this kit is definitely its durability. The high-quality materials used in its construction ensure that it will last through countless AC recharges. Plus, the sleek metal design adds a custom touch to your vehicle that you won't find in other charging kits.
However, there is one downside: the price. While I believe the quality and efficiency of this kit justify the cost, it's worth noting that you can find similar products online for a slightly lower price.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend the Interdynamics MB-134A Charging Kit with Metal Fittings to anyone looking to give their vehicle's A/C system a much-needed boost.

Let me tell you about my experience with the ZeroR Top Off Kit for my car's AC system. I'm not a professional mechanic, but this kit made recharging my AC a breeze! It comes with two cans of R1234YF refrigerant, which is enough to fill most systems. The kit also includes an R1234YF HD Brass Can Tap with a gauge, so I could easily see when my AC was properly charged.
One of the things I appreciated about this kit was how easy it was to use. The cans were self-sealing, which means I could save any unused refrigerant for future use. Plus, the gauge on the hose made it super simple to see when I had the right amount of refrigerant in my system.
However, there were a few cons worth mentioning. First, the hose has a left-hand thread, which wasn't immediately obvious to me. It would be nice if the manual included a clearer explanation of how to connect the hose. Second, the refrigerant is flammable, so it's important to follow all safety instructions carefully.
Overall, I would highly recommend this Top Off Kit to anyone looking to recharge their AC system. The performance was excellent, and it made a complicated process much easier for a DIY enthusiast like me.

My air conditioner was on its last leg, making my summer commute miserable. I decided to give the Big Freeze R134A Refrigerant a try, and boy, am I glad I did! The instant relief from the sweltering heat was a godsend.
The easy-to-use trigger valve and pressure gauge made filling up the system a breeze, even for someone like me who's not exactly car-savvy. The 22 oz size was more than enough to get my car's AC back in tip-top shape for the scorching summer months.
The only downside I encountered was that the product labeling could be clearer. I found myself searching online for more detailed instructions. However, after a little research, I was able to get the job done with no issues.
All in all, the Big Freeze R134A Refrigerant has been a game-changer for my car's AC system. If you're tired of sweating it out in your vehicle, give it a shot - you won't regret it!

The AC Avalanche R134a Air Conditioner Refrigerant has been a game-changer for me. Its unique formula provides up to 30-degree colder air while stopping leaks and conditioning seals, making it the best choice for recharging my vehicle's air conditioning system. I've noticed that I don't need to run the engine at higher RPMs to get that refreshingly cold air, which is a big plus during scorching hot days.
One con that I have to point out is that it requires an EPA compliant adapter or charging hose, which isn't included in the package. I initially faced some issues using it with my old hose but eventually managed to get an adapter and everything worked smoothly after that.
The price of the AC Avalanche R134a Air Conditioner Refrigerant is on the higher end compared to other retailers, but considering its performance and efficiency, I believe it's worth the investment. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this product and will definitely recommend it to anyone looking to recharge their vehicle's air conditioning system.

šŸ”—AC Pro A/C Recharge R-134a for Extreme Conditions (6/12oz)

I recently used the Interdynamics ACP210-6 ACP Extreme Conditions R-134a Refrigerant Refill to recharge my car's air conditioner, and I must say, it was a game-changer. The 12-ounce can was easy to handle and came with a precision dispenser that allowed me to control the amount of refrigerant I added.
The first thing that caught my attention was the robust lubricant combination in this product, which is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and high usage. Living in a hot and humid climate, my car's air conditioner gets a lot of wear and tear, so this was a welcome feature.
Another great thing about the ACP Extreme Conditions Refrigerant Refill is the inclusion of 2x cooling boosters, which noticeably improved the cooling power of my car's air conditioner. The advanced AC leak sealer was also a huge plus, as it helped to revitalize rubber components like hoses, gaskets, and O-rings, extending the life of my AC system.
However, one downside of this product is the price. While it certainly delivers on performance, the cost may be a deterrent for some users. Additionally, the can's capacity is only enough for one recharge, so those with larger vehicles may need to purchase multiple cans.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Interdynamics ACP210-6 ACP Extreme Conditions R-134a Refrigerant Refill to anyone looking to improve the performance and extend the life of their car's air conditioner.

I recently purchased the VEVOR 4 Way AC Gauge to help me with routine maintenance of my car's air conditioning system. From the get-go, I was quite impressed by its portable design. It's compact enough that it doesn't take up too much space in my garage, yet robust enough to include everything I need for any job. Plus, the built-in ergonomic handle made it incredibly easy to transport from car to car.
As for performance, it surpassed my expectations. The high-precision gauges were incredibly accurate, especially when handling sensitive refrigerants like R134A and R410A. Each gauge had a sturdy construction, giving me confidence when using them on heavy-duty equipment.
One small issue I encountered was that the hoses were a bit longer than necessary, which made storage a bit cumbersome. However, this is a minor inconvenience compared to the manifold set's overall efficiency and ease of use.
Since its purchase, I've used this set on multiple vehicles and had no issues with compatibility or performance. In fact, it's made troubleshooting air conditioning issues so much simpler! I'm definitely planning to use this product in the future and would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable AC manifold gauge set.

The step-by-step instructions provided and the included retrofit label make it all the more easy to use, even for individuals new to this process.
While using this product, the most notable feature that stood out was its compatibility with numerous vehicles, owing to the multiple adapter sizes it comes with. 2024.06.02 07:29 seadogsnpyrite I self injected!

I've had a fear of needles my whole life. Not as severe as others, for sure. But I've had my fair share of anxiety attacks/sobbing about needle related things. Not "hold me down" level, but more like crying and shaking like a child.
First big step: HRT. I'm a trans man and I started testosterone last summer. I chose injections (subcutaneous, stomach) as they are the most economical, only every two weeks, and I had a friend who can do them for me. So I would build myself up and close my eyes, squeeze hands, etc. for awhile before they became no big deal. About half a year in, I worked up to looking down at it for sec, the watching the syringe injections, then the needle exit, then the needle entry, and then the whole process. The pain is never bad, It's just the thought of having a piece of metal lodged in me I think. Sometimes I get the stabbies for a minute afterwards but thats just annoying.
My friend trained my boyfriend to do them for me. His first time supervised was perfect, but when we did it together the next time, the preparation was rocky and he entered, accidentally exited and said "oops", I looked down and I saw a prick of blood, and then saw him reenter. This was probably my worst injection experience and we both agreed that he wouldn't do them again lol. Some time after that I went on birth control and decided to do the injection method for similar reasons- just one shot like every 3 months and I don't have to remember to take a pill everyday or have the thought of a foreign metal object inside me. What's funny is that those arm intramuscular shots are now no big deal. My nurse doesn't give any warning, countdown, etc which was actually SO helpful because then my body doesn't have time to be anxious, nauseous, shaky, and lightheaded.
The only issue left is blood withdrawal. If you're familiar with HRT, you know about regular blood testing. My first two times I almost passed out afterwards. Intensely nauseous and faint. Now, I can immediately walk out the clinic and be fine. Unfortunately after my last lab result, turns out I have too much blood and now have to donate it every 3 months. I PANICKED. I was terrified and I started crying. Not only do I have to deal with a needle, I have to deal with the thought of blood leaving my body. When it came time, it was at the appointment I learned of the finger prick. It was like blood lab #1 all over again. My iron is SUPER high and I nearly passed out and they questioned if I was okay to donate. But I had to. It took an hour for me to calm down and work myself up. I'm so glad the red cross nurses were patient with me. Turns out blood donation was no problem! Having to constantly squeeze my hand was a little freaky, but I genuinely couldn't feel anything. And afterwards I didn't feel faint at all!
So you would think I've defeated the needle fear with every aspect of my medical life being needle based... until it came time for me to inject myself. I told myself I would not go get my T injection unless I could do it myself.... well thats how I was almost a week late on this dose. So I went over to my friend and mostly helped prepare the syringe. But after about 15 minutes I couldn't do it so they injected me while we recorded it for me to desensitize myself. Come this week, it was again injection time and for real- it was going to just be me to do it. I did put it off for a whole two days (so my next labs might look strange) but today I took out my supplies, prepared it good enough (definitely was 0.1mL short on my dose).... and sat there for an hour. I would hold the needle capped near me, practice holding the syringe. I would get brave enough to uncap the needle and hold it just millimeters away from my skin... and then after about 5 seconds of looking at the scene, my heart would start racing, my head get a little light, and my hand get shaky. I probably uncapped and capped the needle 7 times. Eventually, I really had to poop, so it had to be done. I didn't feel a thing. It definitely took longer than usual because for the first 5 seconds the needle was in, I was trying to find the correct amount of force to push the syringe- harder than expected. My exit was smooth and I was SO relieved. That along with blood donations were probably the biggest hurdles in my needle journey and now that the bandaid is ripped off, I'm sure the next times will be easier. I'm so relieved to get injections on my own schedule so my T levels don't drop too low.
Thanks for sticking with the long read if you did. And if you are also a trans person who is scared of needles, you're not alone and I hope you find a method that works for you, or that you can get over the fear! Looking away and distracting yourself for an injection is one thing, but looking at it, let aline doing it yourself is scary. However, I think the autonomy in doing it yourself is a benefit. You can work at your own pace and it also just feels badass!

2024.06.02 07:21 Jolly-Marionberry-19 Vyvanse crash

Iā€™m very very new to Vyvanse (3 days in) and it has completely changed my life for the better. I always thought I was just lazy and I no longer feel that thatā€™s the case. Iā€™ve also had anxiety and depression for the last 6/7 ish years and would constantly overthink. My mind was never quiet. That has changed since starting this and I finally feel like I am a functioning being. With that being said, once it wears off, the overthinking comes back and I feel as though Vyvanse only delays it. Which is much better than having it all day but it still sucks. I am also on trintellix (vortioxetine) which is an antidepressant (15mg). Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe I need to just up my dosage for antidepressants?

2024.06.02 07:21 Freakyturnip117 RTX 3060 Stuck in Sleep

Hi all, would really appreciate some help with the below!
Recently built my first rig and my RTX 3060 is getting stuck in sleep / low utilization. If I put my pc to sleep or just fully shut down when I next turn the pc back on utilization will not leave 0-3 and you can feel it in games and any heavy UIs. Fans also stop working, even when trying to manually adjust speeds in nvidia or Afterburner.
CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800x and MB is a MSI B550 A-Pro. Have tried a couple of PSUs so pretty sure there's no problem there.
Have tried changing power setting to favour performance in Windows, turning fast boot off in Windows, setting power consumption to favour performance in nvidia control panel, reinstalling BIOS with latest version on MOBO, and reinstalling / rolling back Nvidia drivers but none has worked.

2024.06.02 07:08 EnviroCode404 Shady Tournament Card Club in San Antonio, TX.

Hello Poker,

I'm writing this after trying to play a tournament this week at a card club in San Antonio, Texas. They have in the past had a rocky start, but I tried to overlook that. They have had a staffing problem, with many of the better staff leaving and having trouble retaining staff. I wanted to give them a shot, and overlook that. They bragged about their overlays and how they are constantly honoring their guarantees, so to that fact, I attempted to register their 10k Guaranteed prize pool tournament Thursday, 5/30/2024, and give them a shot. Now, I also know that they were going to have a difficult time making this guarantee, given that in town there was a 15k gtd running at the same time, with a similar buy in (110 vs 160).

Now, I registered early as I go there early. I was probably the first customer they'd seen all day, as I was in their area for some work things, and didn't want to drive home if I was going to just drive back down, so instead of fight traffic twice, I just got there just after 5:15. There were several staff members sitting at a table with tournament chips training each other on how certain things should go by having a mock game. I sat and shot the shit while I waited. (Now I know with all these details, someone that works there can identify who this is.)

Once it was about 15m to start, I regged, or tried to. The process stated and it took them 10 or so minutes to get it opened, and seated. From there, I took my seat, and waited. By the 7pm start time, 3 others had showed up, and were seated. By the end of level 1, it was a total of 6. As level 2 was ending we were at 7. As level 3 was getting started, the Floor manager, Edwin, began coming around and stating that they wanted to cancel the tournament. As he's trying to collect chips, and bribe the players that are reggistered to come play at the cash table, with a "Free hour of cash play, and a free $100 of chips to play with" two players walk in, and both state they're attempting to play the tournament. The first who is told it's cancelled get's mad and storms out. The other hears there will be a cash game and is offered $50 and a free hour.

This is the second time I've known them to do this, and possibly the 3rd or 4th time they've done it if all rumors are believed to be true. This is a practice that should be stopped. They have a 50k guarantee supposedly coming up. If this is their practice, they'll never have to give it up, as they'll never have a flight run.

There are pictures for proof in this post.

2024.06.02 06:51 futurebannedacct Choices

Choices
Hello, everyone. I'm out of my hibernation with another important message for you all and I know that just makes you so fucking happy and excited.
I wanted to remind everyone to check out my blog, which is one of the last bastions of free speech that is left in this god-forsaken place.
Alright, now that I have officially tongued my own asshole to the point where pleasure turns to dysphoria, allow me to present to you: total bullshit!
... and some other things.
Let's talk about choices. We make them everyday; life is all about them. This is a somewhat true statement - because life is really all about making sure you don't wake up - and choices play a significant role in this operation. Probably not so big a role as language, however, because language is the most deceptive tool in the arsenal of the ones with the power, so it is important that we choose our words wisely.
For example, I keep hearing the phrase "forced vaccinations" or "mandatory vaccinations" being thrown around conspiracy forums, and this phrase, in itself, is an example of the deceptive power of words. We need to be honest with ourselves - because through honesty the truth is exposed - and the truth is the most well hidden part of this experience because the ones in power work to keep the truth hidden at all costs... because the truth will "set you free". But I digress. No one was forced to get vaccinated - not yet, anyway - so let's be honest about this: you might have chosen to take the jab, in order to keep your job, or you might have chosen to take the jab, in order to participate in society. This is a choice that you are making. Perhaps the stakes are high and you had a lot to lose if you chose not to take the jab; but until they are breaking down your door, holding you down, and sticking that needle in your arm - until that time - you are giving your consent to take the jab.
This distinction is an important one to discern because we should be paying attention to the parts in life that are forced upon us and the parts in life that we are choosing to consent to. For example, no one forced us to wear masks for an entire year, but we all (for the most part) consented to doing so, in order to participate in society. We all chose to stand on the circles on the floor, in every checkout line, of every store. We made this choice for many different reasons - but in this community - many of us simply did this for other peoples "perceived well being". In other words, we were catering to the people that make up the majority and aren't as far along in the process of "waking up" as we are... although, many people seem to be choosing to remain asleep - for many different reasons - far from the most insignificant being "fear based programming".
Allow me to share my perspective: for an entire year, we all wore masks in public: an action which is gradually weakening our immune system. Also in public, we practiced "social-distancing": an action that is also gradually weakening our immune systems. Many people - the drooling masses - took this social-distancing b.s. very seriously, for their own "perceived well being" (while virtue-signaling online that they were doing it for everyone else). So, the government asked us to all make a choice: to wear masks and social-distance for a year and - oh - almost forgot! Hand sanitizer - all over, suddenly - some so strong that it seems to be pure rubbing alcohol - killing all germs - and, well... gradually weakening our immune systems! The government had us all compromising our immune systems and overall health, in preparation to get vaccinated with something that sounds... frankly, batshit insane. Do you think this was all an accident? An innocent faux-pas on the part of our dear leaders? I think this was done intentionally. I've also prepared this meme, to help illustrate the conspiracy in question:
The inspiration for this actually came from a post in that was written by someone who is, by no means, an anti-vaxxer, and overall still happy to be vaccinated... because the debilitating side-effects, self-replicating spike proteins is nothing compared to the constant onslaught of fear-based programming.
"Trust the science". That's the last thing I think I'll do; thank you very much. Science is a bullshit factory specializing in limiting beliefs, which uses language to support any point of view that it chooses to support... and of course the point of view we are inundated with, in excess, is that of the ones in power. So please know that if you choose to educate me in the comments, about why the science behind social distancing, face masks and hand sanitizer is to our benefit then I'm either going to think you are being intentionally deceitful, or I will feel sorry for you because you have sincerely become this invested in the wrong direction of practices that are to your benefit.
The moral of the story is that the words we use need to be chosen carefully, because when we choose words such as "forced" and "mandated", we are only working to deceive ourselves further away from the truth. The truth is that we are consistently bombarded with propaganda and manipulation, from the many resources available to the power structure, with the goal of getting our consent. The internet has been a great resource for the power structure to use for minimizing the power of consent. We must constantly "agree" to the terms and conditions that are made to be intentionally agonizing to read and understand. We are being trained to believe that consent is of little value or importance - consent is nothing more than a single click - in order to get to the prize on the other side. The truth may be that our consent is far more valuable than we realize: our consent is one of our most valuable assets.
We need to pay attention to the effect that our consent has on our shared reality - because if there is one thing I learned, after experiencing psychosis - it's that the greatest sin is often committed by very kind people: the kind of people who are timid, helpful, and generous to a point where others take advantage of their kind, benevolent nature. Everyone knows someone who is in a relationship with a manipulative, controlling narcissist that walks all over them. Everyone knows someone who is kind, meek, and respectful of others... because they have no backbone. Someone who has lived a life of avoiding any and all conflict, at all costs, and chooses instead to allow others to take advantage of them. When you habitually allow others to walk all over you, this is your consent that "it's ok for others to do this to me". You are a worse person that the one who is violating you, because you think that it is ok for this to happen to you.
Alright - that was just to set the mood for the actual post - which will begin..... ........ ......... now.
CHOICES: PATRIOTIC EDITION
In the spirit of (shudder) "the most free country on Earth" we're going to (I had a bad reaction to typing that just now, I find the idea to be suffocating and repulsive) talk about choices in red, white and blue. To be perfectly honest, I don't know that much about topics like "color programming", or the exact science and reasoning behind it; I just know that this color palette is used with enough frequency and in a way where there is likely some intent behind it. Perhaps it's as simple as feeling patriotic about democracy, constitutional rights, and other deceptive concepts that are total bullshit - or maybe - the meaning behind it goes far deeper, into the psychological manipulation that is induced by this particular color palette. When I saw that the magnet shared the same red/blue color palette, I realized that these colors are likely being used in order to put each individual into a state of polarization.
CHOICE # 1
Games are fun. Games are based in conflict. Manufacturing reality by making conflict the biggest source for entertainment.
Being alive involves the near constant activity of making choices. We are indoctrinated with the idea that having more choices is desirable. The power construct that is manufacturing reality has recently gone into overdrive in the manufacturing of choices. As the information age progresses through time, the amount of choices is becoming an ever increasing burden on the collective consciousness. The choices are presented using many different angles. A popular example is beliefs, which are currently being exploited by the manufacturers of choices more than any other time in the collective memory*...* which is always followed closely by the collective amnesia. Choices are deeply rooted in the DIVIDE AND CONQUER strategy, an all time favorite of the power construct. Choices are now being utilized in another favorite strategy for maintaining control: ORDER OUT OF CHAOS. Choices have an important role in the MANUFACTURING OF CONSENT, which is highly valued by the power construct. Consent is the oil that keeps the reality machine running smoothly, which is why so much effort is put into the illusion that consent has very little value. This illusion is concealed very well within the fabric of the intangible idea of reality that is overlaying the physical, material reality and has been so successful that consent is given almost instantaneously and without a second thought. Meanwhile, the illusion of value that has been given to currency is as strong as ever: remaining in its long-held position as one of the "pillars of control", which supports and maintains the power construct. The other pillar of control: the illusion of legitimacy, which several institutions within the power construct rely on, has been under maintenance, as a new version is being installed. While the anticipation for this new update slowly builds, the grand master illusion behind the power construct: FEAR BASED PROGRAMMING, - that's it - I'm giving up on this now. They're fucking plastic robots that hit each other until one of their heads... pops a boner?
CHOICE # 2
A theme that seems to always accompany color-based choices emerges: everyone on the outside, looking in, sees an absolutely pointless rivalry. These dudes are victims of mind control.
Well, after choice # 1 resulted in a train wreck of disjointed abstractions trying way too hard to be deep, meaningful observations, I am troubled by the thought of how many readers have probably given up on this. I want everyone that is still with me to know that, due to irrational fears about what anonymous online profiles might think about me, I will now focus primarily on "fitting in" and being likeable, by employing a strategy of trying very hard to not express any more ideas that might be considered "out there". Obviously, this is just the result of growing up poor and uneducated in the ghetto. I mean, who is crazy enough to actually believe that this is somehow connected to other rivalry's that use... very similar hues of red and blue. I mean, they are two of the most popular colors out there - both primary - and... realistically, there aren't that many colors; especially that complement each other like red and blue... ahh, blue and red: the colors of rivalry. There's no deep conspiracy here. Obviously, these guys wear these colors so they know who their enemies are... because, otherwise, there is no reason to kill each other. This is all about the colors. It would be completely pointless otherwise and these guys would probably get on well and hang out in each other's back yards... and then the cops would have nothing to do, which would be a waste of tax payer dollars. Can't have cops just standing around eatin' donuts and getting fat.
CHOICE # 3
Coke & Pepsi. A classic rivalry that makes me proud to live in a free country, where great ideas like capitalism can flourish. I know that they are made by the same company, but I don't really think that matters, ya know?
We are presented with choices. Our choices shape our opinions. So, if I choose red - I mean - Coke, then I will get along with others who choose Coke and we will agree that we chose correctly and that the people that prefer blue - I mean - Pepsi, chose incorrectly. Well, the people that chose blue think they chose correctly and that it is, in fact, the red people that chose incorrectly. This is a conflict of interests, and conflicts create division. People who are divided require a non-biased mediator so that order can be maintained and, because this mediator cares about the safety of both the red and the blue groups, it only makes sense that they should be given the authority to decide what is ok and is not ok for both groups. This is the most rational and logical option because the authority isn't biased towards red or blue, which means they will know what's best for everyone's interests. The police are there to make sure that all red and all blue people are all following all of the all-inclusive rules, mandated by the mediator, and all this is done for the greater good of society. I - I'm gonna get all choked up over here, just thinking about how nice the government is to do all that it does for us. They protect us from those fucking freaks that drink Pepsi. God I fucking hate those sub-human blue-tards! Red people generally have more money and are more successful, which means they are smarter. What started as a small neighborhood feud between Coke and Pepsi is actually how the gang warfare between the Bloods & Crips originated. That's right, they got the colors from Coke and Pepsi, which obviously is a lot more likely than a vast conspiracy involving powerful people manipulating reality in order to maintain control and power over the uninitiated masses. Fuck poor people. Oh, and how about those people that make their preference for Coke or Pepsi an aspect of their personality? They don't seem to understand that the color of the can is the only fucking difference. That's why I stick with Tab Cola, for those unmistakable metallic flavors and the uncomfortable, sticky feeling all over my body the next day.
CHOICE # 4
They're the exact same store except for the fact that one is red and one is blue... and yet, you have a preference for one over the other. You made up some reasons for why they are different in your head, because you are under an immense amount of mind control.
Ahh... consumerism**:** the arena of pointless choices. Why does only one company manufacture all the different brands of eyeglasses? Perhaps... to have control over the market? No - to have control over you, stupid - and no: this isn't a joke. It's a desperate plea, urging you to wake up and see this shit for what it really is, while you have this opportunity - this window - into the illusion. You see, they are getting desperate - and lately, the world seems like it has gone mad - which is part of their strategy, which is preventing you from seeing it. Why do you think there are suddenly twenty new M&M's flavor combinations? All these new Reese's Peanut Butter Cup's with minor alterations of essentially the same fucking thing? Let me guess: they're just having fun... right? Trying to stir up interest in candy bars? Or maybe for profit... right? This is just a business strategy to get your money... right? No... no... I'm afraid you're thinking way too small... with your logic and reason and all the other LIMITING BELIEFS that you have been - and are being - indoctrinated with: every fucking day! These are all pointless choices (brought to you by consumerism) that are trying to keep you distracted. Trying to keep your mind occupied. Why is Netflix trying to induce option paralysis? Why are the high-tech gadgets we use for entertainment purposes bombarding us with a constant onslaught of ads, new articles, stories, and a maddening amount of pointless bullshit?!?!?! They want you to be overwhelmed*;* they want you to freeze. They want you to have no sense of identity. They want life to overwhelm you with an endless list of pointless shit that has to get done in order to maintain... in order to maintain... to maintain what? THE ILLUSION, IDIOT. Ok: that was uncalled for. I don't think you're an idiot. I think that you know, in the bottom of your cold, gray heart , that the crazy shit I am saying sounds right (for some reason). They are manipulating reality in order to keep you under their power and control. I don't exactly know why, but I do know that they care a lot more about you being distracted than they care about worthless green paper. You know what? I bet the 1% doesn't give a shit about money: they simply have all of it just to piss you off. Why is all this corruption in the news all the time? The next fucking scandal that everyone can talk about? WHY is the news telling us to wear masks, get vaccinated and then, the following week, admitting COVID-19 is a bio-weapon? TO KEEP YOU DISTRACTED. THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO THEM. Oh, and Walmart and Target's LOGOS both contain some occult symbolism. Yep: Target's logo is the astrological symbol for the sun and Walmart's logo is the Star of David... with the hexagon in the middle. The hexagon is symbolic of the cube. Once you understand that you can't not see the cube*.* It's fucking weird - but also a conversation for another time - when we can discuss why all of these well-known corporate LOGOs are symbolic of Saturn:
https://preview.redd.it/vsv8fcvh834d1.jpg?width=511&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d9a14f0b398633824a2768e3128268aa6628c689
CHOICE # 5
You know what? I think I should devote a large portion of my life to watching a bunch of overpaid, mentally compromised, grown-ass men chase a ball around. I also think I should be passionate about the team that is closest to me in geographical proximity. This is not mind control, but as a conspiracy realist, I do like to point out that MK Ultra really did happen, and the CIA really did experiment with mind control back in the 1950's, but the program ended decades ago. I like to go on online conspiracy forums, and help people understand the reality of conspiracy theories, so they don't get sucked into lies like Q-anon or lizard people or THIS POST, WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY THE WORK OF A MENTALLY UNSTABLE INDIVIDUAL.
Watching sports makes me feel safe, and comfortable, because it distracts me from all the bullshit of everyday life. It's good to have a nice distraction - and fill my mind with useless sports stats - or talk endlessly with the bro's about individual players strength's and weaknesses - in a boring, monotonous tone of voice - while I sip domestic piss-water beer. I don't want to think too deeply about things because it starts to make me really uncomfortable when I have to confront reality. I'd rather just not worry about it and see what happens. Who am I but a lowly speck of insignificant, worthless dog shit in this giant, scary universe, where I am completely powerless to do anything but take whatever beating the world feels like dishing out to me that day? I dunno. Maybe Jesus will come back and good will win out in the end. Good always wins in the end - that's just the way it works - so I don't really have to worry about anything. God is good. My little brother doesn't like sports at all. He likes to put on girls makeup, and is always depressed and confused and obsessing about some dumb shit. We're lucky to live in the modern age, with advancements in science that will allow my brother to medically transition into the woman that he always should have been - and always truly was - on the inside. Some assholes don't think that trans women are women. They just don't understand how science works, and don't care to learn. They are just misogynistic, transphobic assholes. That's right: if you don't think that you can be born a man and then change into a woman that means you are transphobic. You hate trans people because you don't want to believe that a man can change into a woman. Anyway - that's my brother -not me. I like guy shit... because I'm normal.
CHOICE # 666
The choice of the beast
Oh NO! Everyone hates politics - which is why I hid it at the end - because I know nobody is still reading this. I've alienated myself from the audience, with all the confusing switching between dialogues of seemingly different people and JUST BECAUSE I BET there will be some DIP-CLIP that says "voting is how we get things done around here." HA! Nice try, but this isn't about politics; this is a meta-analysis of WHY it's NO POLITICS. The short answer is that participating in this is as pointless as those people above, participating in gang warfare against their fellow man. "THOSE PEOPLE?" What do you mean, those people? Black people? THIS GUYS RACIST. No, even worse: HE'S INTOLERANT. The human race has become far too soft, weak and emasculated by the pesticides and environmental toxins that get dumped all over us, every day! GET VACCINATED for other people, you SELFISH CONSPIRACY THEORIST. This is why we aren't going to reach herd immunity and we will have to deal with COVID-19 for years to come: because of people like you. WHY WOULD I trust a RANDOM, intolerant asshole on Reddit, who watched a YouTube video about lizard people, over EXPERTS who WENT TO SCHOOL for years to become indoctrinated, believe everything the MSM tells them, and completely LACK the ability to critically think?! All my life I heard that I "need to go to college", and today I couldn't be happier that I am not of a "higher education" because, from what I've gathered, they are some of the most CLOSE-MINDED people on the planet. LIMITING BELIEFS. That's what trendy these days.
I'm not done yet! Yes, I'm gonna talk about the donkey and the elephant: not only are politics bullshit; those who participate in politics are participating in a terrible, evil practice. Why would you affiliate with a political party and tell people what you think they can and cannot do? Can't you see that's the crux of the problem? I know things are fucked when the majority of people are of the opinion that we need to FIX the government (change it, drain the swamp, bureaucracy, etc.) They don't get it - we don't need to change the government - we need to END the government. Government is the single biggest threat to humanity. "But they protect us from the BAD people." Guess what? "The bad people" are there because of the government. The government needs the bad people to be there, in order to maintain their "illusion of legitimacy" (credit - Jim@EOI) and make themselves seem needed. THE BAD PEOPLE are the people who protect us. The sooner you understand that, the better off you are. And people are still talking about election fraud because they think that Trump is GOOD. Can't you see the mind control? How are these people this BLIND to reality?
Manipulation of reality.
Look... it's the superpowers. The greatest countries in the world! But why do they have the exact same color scheme as all the pointless choices? How can they be united? This is the divided states and the divided kingdom, and they have conquered. DIVIDE & CONQUER. Oh, wait... some patriots went off to find a new home and fight for freedom from the oppression of the taxation of the royal bloody palace? Only to go and make a new country even more oppressive and with higher taxes, some two-hundred odd years later? Are you SURE that it wasn't actually to commit GENOCIDE against all the indigenous BROWN PEOPLE, whose genetic makeup allowed them to have a far deeper understanding of spirituality? CoUlDn't bE Th*@*T....
I'M DRAWING A LINE IN THE SAND
I am so sick of the average Redditor - who thinks they're smart because they're an atheist who understands science - arguing with me, using all their SUPER-BELIEVABLE LIMITING BELIEFS. I know on Reddit it's hard to tell who is real and who ... isn't real - but these people are seemingly the majority now - and they're fucked. They don't even actually understand what science is. Science isn't chopping off your dick to be a woman. Let's talk about the actual scientist who performed many series of actual scientific experiments to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that people are able to control material reality with only the use of their minds. Why doesn't anyone ever want to talk about THAT science?
What it seems is that every thing in this world - every institution, religion, and academic study - has been corrupted to keep us under control. The people that are in control of this world have access to esoteric knowledge that they have hidden from the masses to keep for themselves. This knowledge involves the ability to manipulate reality, which they use for power and keeping the rest of us down and powerless. From what I can tell, the thing they don't want us to know is that we are powerful beings, with capabilities that have been hidden and unused. Every person needs to understand that they are a powerful being that doesn't need any help or anyone to save them. WE have the power to control our own destiny. If the majority would start believing in their power and themselves, we would have a chance at ending this shitty reality manipulation and living as non-dual beings of love - as the true source of creation made us - powerful, independent beings with everything we need, and no need to evolve or learn shitty lessons about suffering. Unfortunately, it seems like most people would prefer to keep their creature comforts, believe that this isn't as bad as I am making it sound, and remain here, in the safety of familiarity... away from the fear of the unknown. And that makes me so fucking sad that it brings tears to my eyes.

2024.06.02 06:22 blurryturtle 2024 Roland Garros Men's & Women's 4th Round - Sunday Matches

Swiatek vs Potapova :

Swiatek had to have been happy with her third round matchup after waking up from the nightmare that Naomi Osaka presented. She made quick work of Bouzkova, who was outmatched in every department. Bouzkova did manage to battle back in the first and make the set close, and she served surprisingly well, but she just doesnā€™t hit hard enough to beat Swiatek. It was one of those matches where Swiatek looks a bit impatient because sheā€™s supplying all the offense, and it seems like when it takes 3-4 shots to get an opportunity to hit a winner, she tries to just infuse extra pace or spin instead and unforced errors appear. Trying to make the ball explode doesnā€™t really work, and extra force applied tends to fall short when compared to smooth technique. I watched Rune and Zverev have similar trouble today against their opponents. Players wind up pushing because they hit bigger than their opponent, but donā€™t want to make errors. Itā€™s accuracy thatā€™s missing, and itā€™s something for Swiatek to work on in the off-season. I would say that accuracy is the main problem with her serve as well. It has plenty of pace and spin, but the ball lands towards the center of the box way too often. Less pace, and more location will go a long way.
If it feels like Iā€™m levying criticism today, yes. Your turn, Potapova and Wang. Potapova was down 5-0 in the first set, and won 7 games in a row. Wang has a tendency to just go big on her forehand, and she doesnā€™t stop when she misses. Potapova was an uphill battle, but Wang doesnā€™t actually need to hit clean winners to score. Her forehand is one of the biggest in the game, and once she locks into a cross-court rally she usually can win provided the ball lands inside the court. Landing the ball inside the court proved difficult, and it felt a bit like watching Struff. All the ability in the world but a sense of urgency that doesnā€™t really match the moment. Yes you want to stay aggressive, but the weight of shot buys you time in the rally, you donā€™t need to escape a rally youā€™re in control of.
Potapova wound up losing the second, and down a break in the third. She dug in admirably, but there were some really poor decisions late in the match. After getting to triple break point by rallying with Wang and keeping the ball deep until Wang missed, she got a simple backhand return off a serve. She went for a clean winner down the line for some reason, and then suddenly the next point mattered. She lost it, and suddenly the ā€œoh F I had it and now itā€™s goneā€ fears rose. The game ended up at duece, and she went to tactic B : screaming on every shot. You canā€™t scream your opponent off the court, so this didnā€™t really work. In the end, Wang coughed up errors and Potapova won, but it was a match that was managed poorly by both. Potapova was very reactive to misses and makes, which is fine but wastes a bunch of energy and tends to affect your decisionmaking in a readable way. You want to maintain some mystery, and at a minimum not give your opponent any inspiration or hope to work off of while youā€™re out there.
Swiatek Potapova should be another safe match for Swiatek, but Potapova has good power off both wings and she hits her backhand down the line decent. Swiatek will need more than she brought against Bouzkova, and chances are this wonā€™t be a blowout. Potapova won their last meeting 6-0 in the third on clay, but it was in 2016 at the juniors. Swiatek in 2.

Danilovic vs Vondrousova :

Olga Danilovic has made the 4th round of a major. This changes her career in a major way. Tons of points, at least $250k, and a chance to win more. Itā€™s even sweeter I would imagine because she probably shouldnā€™t be there. Her match against Donna Vekic was filled with many fumbles. Both players have enough power to hit past the other. Vekic was able to hit inside out forehands to great effect. Danilovicā€™s pendulum swing on her backhand was able to force errors from Vekic quite often. Her forehand down the line was almost a clean winner anytime she made it. In between all that though, they missed constantly.
The first set was a 6-0 beatdown from Vekic. She played excellent, and likely should have won the second. In the third, she went up a quick break. She gave that back, but broke to serve for the match. Immediately, she threw in a handful of forced dropshots and errors. Luckily, she broke again to serve for the match at 6-5. This gave her the opportunity to come up with a few more bailout dropshots and errors. If you watch highlights, this was an incredible match. If you watched the match, you saw two players whose games were affected by the situation. Vekic forced the issue and missed anytime she got control of the scoreboard, and Danilovic went through bouts of not missing at all followed by sending every ball wide. The tiebreaker was vaguely like watching a junior match. Every miss brought a huge reaction from the player. There were constant gestures and faces made to their boxes, and it was a little difficult to watch two great players struggle to focus and execute. Vekic managed to go up again 6-2 in the tiebreaker, but froze at that point and began hitting most of her shots long. She had trouble serving first serves in for the second half of the entire third set, but she really was unable to respond defensively once Danilovic got a full swing in.
After watching Danilovic down Collins and sort of defeat Vekic, itā€™s hard to count her out against Vondrousova. Marketa is a clear favorite against most players on clay, but the scorelines of her matches can be hard to predict. Against Paquet she was up a set and cruising up a double break in the second, and wound up back on serve. She closed out, but Vondrousova doesnā€™t hit that big and mostly thrives by defending and earning errors, so Danilovic will be able to compete. They played in the BJK cup and Vondrousova won in 3, and Iā€™m guessing slower clay will give Vondrousova more of an edge. Vekicā€™s lack of speed really hurt her, and I think Vondrousova being able to put extra ball consistently in play will make Danilovicā€™s rough patches more of an issue. The emotional and physical output of Danilovic over the last few rounds has to take a toll, and I think sheā€™ll fall a game or two short here. Vondrousova in 3.

Gauff vs Cocciaretto :

This is an excellent draw for Gauff so far. Sheā€™s playing great players, but stylistically theyā€™re not a lot of trouble for her. This round is another good spot. Elisabetta Cocciaretto is a good server and has nice power, but sheā€™s not the fastest around the court and she can make some unforced errors if sheā€™s rushed. This means Gauffā€™s defense and power give her a great shot to win without trouble. Cocciaretto beating Samsonova was a surprise to me, but Samsonova doesnā€™t have the speed that Gauff does nor the consistency. This is a criminally short analysis but Gauff in 2.

Tauson vs Jabeur :

Great champions are able to elevate their games. This round, Ons will need to elevate hers. Clara Tauson is playing some great tennis, and coming into this match hers is the higher level. Jabeur was projected to have trouble against Fernandez and she did. It was another match where I felt like a good coach could have gotten their player across the finish line. Fernandez didnā€™t have a great chance in the first, but Jabeur was very willing to give the second away. Fernandez was able to dig in on defense and rally with Jabeur until she made errors or gave Leylah opportunities. Rather than keep rallying and really punish Jabeur, Fernandez went for winners ā€¦ and missed them all. Iā€™m not exaggerating here, in the second set she missed almost every offensive shot she went for, and it didnā€™t feel like she had to go for them. Jabeur hits bigger than Fernandez, so on the court it may have felt like she needed to do a lot, but most of her points come from consistency, so Leylahā€™s team will want to focus on having her focus on the mental battle going on in her opponentā€™s head rather than trying to be a big hitter. Physically, itā€™s just not in the cards for her to be slinging offense. Maybe she landed those same shots in an earlier round, so going for them was fine, but awareness on court is important, and Jabeur was trying to give the set away. After winning, Jabeur celebrated a bit which left me puzzled. Itā€™s natural to be happy when you win, but I feel a little odd about these matches sometimes. Fernandez didnā€™t land a first serve for the last 20 minutes, threw in a ton of errors, and tried to hit an overhand winner for some reason off a return at 5-5 in the tiebreaker. It was a nice win, but Jabeur made this match hard on herself. I might be in hater mode today and I apologize, but it feels like sometimes players tap their head or pump their fist after overcoming challenges that they themselves created.
Positives for Jabeur were the times she put one extra ball back. She has had a middling season, and seeing her dig in is great. Her racquet skill is some of the best on tour as well, so the gets arenā€™t just a boost, theyā€™re downright effective. She has the ability to stretch to her forehand and put squash gets back extremely low, and to flick cross-court forehands that seem impossible from how extended her arm is. Jabeurā€™s depth of talent is why she is still slightly favored in this match, because again, Clara Tauson is coming in at a high level. Tauson beat Ostapenko, and followed it up by putting Kenin through the ringer. Kenin had no chance in the first, but in the second she was able to reel back a break of serve and apply some decent pressure. Frustratingly, she just wasnā€™t able to execute in the big moments. At 15-30 5-5, Tauson hit a lob that was going a few feet out (to the side). While running backwards, Kenin seemed unaware of where she was in the court. She tried to play it overhead and missed. It was a momentum killer, and she ended up missing the remainder of her offensive opportunities.
Throughout the match, the big difference in the two was Tausonā€™s ability to score quickly. When she lands first serves, or if you give her a moment to get a full swing anywhere inside the baseline, you are toast. She has the type of power that Anisimova/Collins generate on their backhand, and she has a heavy forehand. That is why I suspect Jabeur will have a tough time winning this quickly. Jabeur has the endurance and variety to frustrate Tauson, but this feels like a battle of two big offenses, and Jabeurā€™s is a bit less consistent at this point. I want to believe Jabeur wins in 3, but she will need to step up her game and avoid the type of letdown she had in the second against Fernandez. Tauson is several tiers above Leylah and Osorio in terms of offensive opportunities, and both those players were able to get in winning position in at least one set. Iā€™m still going to go with Jabeur in 3. Tauson has beaten some offenses, and some defenses, but Ons is the most complete player sheā€™s faced so it feels very much like ā€œprove itā€ territory for me.

Arnaldi vs Tsitsipas :

The story in Arnaldiā€™s match seems to be Rublevā€™s temper, but donā€™t let that overshadow Arnaldiā€™s performance. For me, Rublevā€™s temper is partially his fault, and partially his teamā€™s. Iā€™m especially sensitive to this after watching the last round, but being reactive to the outcome of points is a bit of a leak. If you are easily moved by events, then you are always able to be moved. It compounds, because if you are really good at something, there is no reason to believe that minor failures will continue, or even matter. It gives your opponent motivation, it wastes your valuable reserves of adrenaline and dopamine (depending on good/bad outcomes), and itā€™s honestly fairly distracting for an opponent. Just generally speaking, if my opponent is smashing his head with a racquet, I donā€™t really want to beat him. Iā€™m still going to, but I want to compete and win, I donā€™t really want to add suffering to someone else. Itā€™s unprofessional, itā€™s a detriment to his game, and it puts his opponents and umpires in an uncomfortable spot. Of course, he knows this, but it should hit home in this moment that he lost this match because of his lack of composure, and lost it to a player who thrives because of his composure.
Matteo Arnaldi plays steady consistent tennis. He works hard, he constantly works on his game, and he isnā€™t reactive out there aside from hyping himself up. He beat Fils because of deviations in his level of play and because he made it clear he wouldnā€™t miss. Fils forced shots and missed because he was unwilling to do the work. He beat Rublev because despite Rublev opening the match hitting clean and crushing winners, he just stayed the course and kept competing. When Christmas disappeared, Rublev noticed, and he did not like it. The crux of the issue is, he did not accept it. If I am upset about the way things are, that is natural. If I grit against the way they are, I suffer. If I accept the way things are, I am (counterintuitively) instantly free to begin working on changing them. It doesnā€™t mean we celebrate errors or loss, but resetting to the present moment is a major key to winning in professional sports and tennis players in particular have a difficulty with this.
Iā€™m not trying to dump on all these players or attack them here either. All of them are tremendous athletes and are mostly excellent ambassadors and competitors. All of these struggles are natural and we all experiences the highs and lows of competition, but Rublev wants to win and this is something he needs to work on to do that consistently. If his coaches arenā€™t working on this with him, theyā€™re doing him a disservice. If they are and he isnā€™t buying into it, heā€™s doing them a disservice. Everything is fine with Rublevā€™s game but the holes are clear. He needs more reps at net, he needs to develop dropshots, and he needs to not smash racquets.
For now, itā€™s Arnaldi vs Tsitsipas. Stefanos has been excellent this event, and he opens as the favorite for a reason. Zhang played solid in round 3, but he was helpless against Tsitsipas. Stef is holding serving quickly, and the speed with which heā€™s finding a forehand to the open court off of playersā€™ returns is the catalyst of this. His stamina is a major weapon in these conditions and in this format, and his serve/forehand is one of the best left in the event. If Arnaldi wants to win, the plot is simple. Isolate Tsitsipasā€™ backhand, and get deep in sets. In the late stages of a close set, Tsitsipas is still prone to some shanks. I really do think Arnaldi needs to win the first set to have a shot here, but had Rublev been playing Tsitsipas I think weā€™d be expecting a somewhat close match so thereā€™s no real argument for Arnaldi to get blown out here. He has a complete game, and he has good discipline. Heā€™s lanky so he might be able to return well, and he can send his backhand down the line so Tsitsipas canā€™t just camp in his backhand corner. Forehand to forehand though, I think Tsitsipas wins. Losses to Ruud, Jarry, Medvedev make me think that Arnaldi has a bit of a ceiling, but all those were close affairs so Tsitsipas should have his hands full here. Tsitsipas in 4-5.

Alcaraz vs Auger-Aliassume :

Shelton and FAA was fairly hyped, but only Felix delivered. Shelton wasnā€™t really that bad, but FAA just showed heā€™s more comfortable on the surface. He faced no break points, and won comfortably in straight sets. His next match will be a lot more difficult, as he plays a version of Carlos Alcaraz that is cruising through the draw without really playing his best tennis. Alcaraz vs Korda was a strange contest. It reminded me a bit of Zverev or Rune playing matches they know theyā€™re going to win. They donā€™t want to play extra sets, so they play a bit more carefully and just make sure to outlast their opponent. What ends up happening is the score stays close, and the stronger players needs to win a tense tiebreaker or break late in the set. Sure, they still win, but I think that an all-out assault from an earlier moment would allow them to fatigue their opponent.
These guys are all in tremendous shape (even Kotov), but there are levels/paces that they canā€™t hang at for long. Someone like Alcaraz can push the pace and wear Korda down, and once he breaks from that level, the odds of him winning the next sets easily are more likely. We watched Nadal and Djokovic do this to opponents for a long time, and the late sets were almost always blowouts after frantic openers. We watched Federer do the same thing mentally to opponents with a constant onslaught of offensive shots and tricky slices. If you donā€™t push the pace to a level your lower-tier opponent canā€™t hang at, they end up playing at a pace theyā€™re comfortable with and then you play the same level of Korda in set 1 as you do in set 3.
Hater mode continues, but in this case I think itā€™s all assuming that Alcaraz is totally healthy. If heā€™s saving his arm for later, he played Korda perfectly. Sebastian continues to battle even with the best players on tour, and in the big moments he doesnā€™t change his game. 4-4 in a tiebreaker isnā€™t the time to force anything, but if youā€™re the underdog and have nothing to lose, it might be a good choice to ratchet up the pace a little, or take some chances. Instead, he seems to throw in rally ball errors. The two forehand misses he had in the tiebreaker were rough, but worse was that they werenā€™t even shots that were going to score. He was just guiding the ball in straight over the net. I guess in the end, beating Alcaraz, or even playing him even for a time, is a huge ask. It was a great match.
FAA will have his best chance to beat Alcaraz here. Alcarazā€™s arm is potentially not 100%, and Korda probably should have won a set. I think the pace alone that Felix brings will wake Carlitos up a bit, and he has beaten FAA the last few times theyā€™ve played so heā€™ll know which shots to employ and when. Even with his arm a question mark, Alcarazā€™s speed around the court and ability to extend rallies are the right assets to score on FAA. Auger-Aliassimeā€™s main issue on tour is that he can overhit forehands and cough up unforced errors. It should be noted also that FAA Shelton was played under a closed roof, which helps Felixā€™s serve a bit. The weather in Paris looks pretty nice for the rest of the tournament, so itā€™ll be warm and ideal for Alcaraz to wear him down and isolate his backhand when he can. FAA is good enough to compete at this level, but hasnā€™t been doing it regularly enough for me to think he can do so here for 3 whole sets. Alcaraz in 4.

Hurkacz vs Dimitrov :

Dimitrov leads this h2h 5-0. All the matches have been close, but you donā€™t get to 5-0 against Hurkacz unless you can reliably return serve. If you can reliably return serve, you can beat Hurkacz, and on clay it should be even more beneficial. Hurkacz has played excellent in this clay swing considering his status as a servebot, and leading into Wimbledon and the North American swing I think his baseline improves have him primed for some titles. He had a hard test with Shapovalov in round 3, and the new and sort of decent Shapovalov put up a good fight. Dimitrov had an easier time with Zizou Bergs, despite dropping a set. Bergs broke Dimitrov a bunch in this match, but Dimitrovā€™s slice gave him a lot of trouble. Grigor was content to just keep hitting the court, and it was enough in the end. Bergs had trouble lifting his forehand inside in off of the slice, and it meant going mostly inside out which Dimitrov was only too comfortable with. The quick turnaround is a concern here, but I donā€™t think the Bergs match was as labor intensive as it could have been. There were numerous rain delays, and the scores were close but only because Dimitrov didnā€™t redline. He served with control, he hit to big targets, and he secured the bag.
I donā€™t think Hurkacz gets beaten quickly here, and I donā€™t think Dimitrov is automatic just because of the h2h. He should win, but Dimitrov lost to Rune/Mensik/Fritz recently and those are all players right around Hurkacz level. If this goes to a 5th, Iā€™d be pretty worried for Dimitrovā€™s chances. Picking Dimitrov in 4 feels tough, because Bergs got to a 4th and he wasnā€™t really playing his best today. The h2h is hard to ignore, so Iā€™ll go with Dimitrov in 5. The quick turnaround might leave him tired but he should be able to outduel Hurkacz in most volleys and the low slices will be tough for the big dude to get down on.

Sinner vs Moutet :

Nothing like a seemingly simple one to end a full day of criticizing professional athletes for not being perfect <3. Moutet has been the most entertaining player in this event. He has won and lost lopsided sets, he has gone for every shot possible, he is chatting with the crowd, and he is giving the home country something to believe in. Considering he couldnā€™t even hit a two-handed backhand for a good chunk of the past year due to wrist surgery, itā€™s pretty impressive for him to get his game back to a really high level. Ofner was beating him early in the third round, but he was also sweating profusely. The workload of defending against Moutetā€™s big forehand strokes and his clever dropshots is exhausting, and Ofnerā€™s game dipped as the match went on. Itā€™ll be fun to see Sinner trading with Moutet, and itā€™ll be another look at his physical ability to see how quickly he moves to the frontcourt and how he defends Moutetā€™s forehand inside out. Generally with a hip injury, itā€™s sprinting forward and leaning wide to that side that becomes an issue.
Sinner has sort of entered a big however many group in terms of his results. He is able to beat the lower tier players for the entire match, and is consistently able to do so. There are no holes in his game, and aside from his hip issue there is no reason to think he loses here. Moutet has the game to make this the match of the day, but it feels like heā€™s spent a lot more time and energy on court and thatā€™ll cost him. Sinner in 3.

šŸ”—Mighty Nebo 12K Rechargeable LED Flashlight: Powerful and Versatile

As a flashlight enthusiast, I recently had the chance to try out the Nebo 12K Rechargeable Flashlight, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This flashlight boasts 5 different light modes, making it a versatile companion for any outdoor activity or emergency situation.
The highlight of this rechargeable flashlight is its impressive run time, particularly in low mode. With 12 hours of use on low mode, you can be sure it will last during those long power outages or camping trips. Not only does it have a long run time, but it also provides a powerful beam that reaches up to 721 feet.
One feature I appreciated was the 2x adjustable zoom, which allows for flexibility and precision when illuminating a subject. Additionally, the IP67 waterproof rating gave me peace of mind when using the flashlight in wet conditions, knowing it would not easily malfunction.
The NEBO 12K truly shines as a multi-purpose tool, effectively functioning as a camping light, hunting light, EDC flashlight, and even doubling as a power bank for your USB-rechargeable devices.
There were a couple of drawbacks, however. The flashlight itself can be quite heavy, weighing in at 2 pounds, which may be a consideration for some users. The high setting only reaches up to 3,000 lumens, which might not be the brightest available on the market.
In summary, the Nebo 12K Rechargeable Flashlight offers versatility, durability, and an impressive beam distance, making it an excellent choice for outdoor enthusiasts and emergency preparedness. The only downside is its weight and the relatively low lumen capacity on the highest mode, but overall, I am quite pleased with my experience using this flashlight.

šŸ”—990,000 Lumen Rechargeable Flashlight: Waterproof, Portable, & Durable High-Lumen LED Light

https://preview.redd.it/wm2dbb6v234d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7b313579d285df14ac1a93c9f20b157ae6b7350
I recently tried using this Super Bright LED Flashlight during a camping trip, and I must admit, it was an impressive and necessary piece of gear for my outdoor explorations. With a maximum output of 990,000 lumens, it was brighter than most of my other flashlights combined. The upgraded LED chip and battery really made a difference.
One of the standout features of this high-lumen rechargeable flashlight was the large 12000mAh battery that allowed for up to 24 hours of continuous operation at low light mode. It was perfect for nighttime hikes or scouting while navigating through dense forests. The fast charging port was also a nice touch, significantly speeding up the charging process.
I enjoyed the fact that this flashlight had 4 modes - high, medium, low, and strobe - which were incredibly useful in different situations. The easy-to-use switch made it simple to toggle between modes and turn off after use. The durable yet lightweight construction, coupled with its waterproof design, made it a suitable companion for any adventure.
Overall, my experience with the Super Bright LED Flashlight was both exhilarating and eye-opening, as it truly illuminated the darkness and provided comfort on my camping trip. The superior performance, versatility, and safety standards, along with the great after-sales service, make this a must-have piece of gear for any outdoor enthusiast.

In my search for a portable work light, I came across the Husky 12000 Lumens LED light. With its 5 ft grounded power cord, I found it extremely practical for use both indoors and outdoors. The pivoting, adjustable head provided me with the flexibility to direct the light exactly where I needed it.
One of the features that stood out to me was its LED bulb, which not only illuminates my workspace effectively but also remains cool to the touch. The work light is also plug-in, making it easy to keep it powered during long work sessions without the need for constantly replacing batteries.
The sturdiness of the light impressed me. Despite its portability, it has a solid construction that helped me achieve a steady working environment. This light truly deserves the 5.0 rating that is so highly praised by its users. It's become an essential part of my daily toolkit, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

I recently tried out the WUBEN X1 Rechargeable Flashlight and was completely blown away by its incredible brightness. With up to 12000 lumens, this torch definitely lit up my path like a beacon. It's equipped with 3 high-quality LEDs, which burst into a blinding light instantly. The 7 modes and programmable settings let you customize its output to fit your needs perfectly.
Charging this flashlight is a breeze, thanks to its ultra-fast charging ability. One particularly impressive feature was the built-in rubber USB cover; it not only added durability to the flashlight but also made it less prone to accidents. These SKNSL Rechargeable LED Flashlights truly shine with their impressive 900,000 lumen output, providing brightness you can count on. I was particularly drawn to the 7 modes, making it a versatile choice for all kinds of adventures.
One thing I really appreciated is the use of COB technology in these flashlights. It made the focus easily adjustable, switching between wide range and spot illumination, greatly aiding in my detection of surroundings.
However, it did take some getting used to with handling the light for long periods of time due to the intense brightness, which felt more like a sun's intense glare.
But overall, these LED flashlights provide a powerful and rechargeable source of light in emergencies or during your outdoor treks. With their IP6 waterproof rating and strong aluminum alloy body, they are built to handle any weather or situation.

I had the chance to try out the Fenix LR50R rechargeable flashlight, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer. This little powerhouse puts out a whopping 12,000 lumens - brighter than any flashlight I've ever owned. But what impresses me the most is its versatility. It's perfect for search and rescue, but I've also found it handy for when I need a little extra light while camping.
The Fenix LR50R is easy to use, too. With dual stainless steel side switches, you can quickly cycle through its six brightness modes and SOS, beacon, and strobe functions. The built-in tripod mount is a nice touch, making it convenient to use in different settings.
Now, let's talk about the battery life. The included 16,000 mAh battery pack can be fast-charged with the USB Type-C charging cable, and it has enough juice to keep the flashlight running for over 58 hours on eco mode. Plus, the LR50R can also be powered by one to four 21700 batteries, making it a great backup for when your primary battery dies.
The Fenix LR50R isn't without its minor cons, though. It's definitely on the heavier side, so it might not be the best option for those who prefer a lighter flashlight. Also, while the flashlight itself is well-made, the included accessories could use some improvement - I found the holster and lanyard a bit flimsy.
Overall, the Fenix LR50R rechargeable flashlight is a powerful and versatile tool that's perfect for those who need a reliable light source in any situation. Its high lumen output, easy-to-use interface, and long battery life make it a standout choice among other flashlights on the market.

Last month, I decided to give the Yierblue Rechargeable Spotlight Flashlight a try during one of my usual camping trips. At first, I was skeptical about its claimed brightness, but it truly was extra bright compared to the small models I've used before. The LED light had a lifespan of 50,000 hours, which was impressive considering how often I used it, and its 1000,000 lumen beam was able to cast light up to an incredible 550 yards.
One of the features I found particularly helpful was its IP67 waterproof and floating ability. I submerged it into the river near my campsite by accident, but not only did it perform like a charm, but it actually floated back up to the surface! This added layer of durability was a definite pro, especially when paired with the High strength ABS housing and silicone protective case.
The flashlight's versatile capabilities added even more convenience to my outdoor adventures. With an output port that served as a power bank to charge my devices in emergencies and built-in 10000 mAh batteries, I was confident I would never be left in the dark. The 4 adaptable light settings made it suitable for various activities, from working on a farm to hunting or simply providing hands-free lighting.
Despite all its advantages, one thing I did notice was that the flashlight tended to be quite heavy in comparison to others, making it less ideal for extended periods of use or carrying around on long hikes. Additionally, though the provided red filter was great for specific purposes, such as hunting, I would've appreciated a more adjustable or easily removable feature to further customize the light.
On the whole, my experience with the Yierblue Rechargeable Spotlight Flashlight has been a pleasant one. The brightness, waterproofing, and versatility of the device made it a valuable addition to my camping gear, while its weight and filter issues were minor inconveniences. Overall, I would recommend this flashlight for anyone in need of a heavy-duty, extra bright light for their outdoor adventures.

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to choosing a 12000 Lumen flashlight, there are several factors to consider to ensure you're getting a high-quality product that meets your needs. In this buyer's guide, we will provide you with the important features, considerations, and general advice to help you make an informed decision.

Important Features

Brightness

The primary feature to look for in a 12000 Lumen flashlight is, of course, the brightness. This amount of light output is suitable for various environments, including camping, hiking, emergency situations, and even industrial settings. Always check the manufacturer's specifications to ensure the flashlight delivers the advertised brightness.

https://preview.redd.it/508xrbm3334d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99ebab50e468272cf04cbc9901a4bdacc9b45524

Weight and Portability

A 12000 Lumen flashlight can be quite heavy, so consider the weight and portability when making your decision. If you plan to carry the flashlight frequently, choose one with a comfortable grip and a balance of size, weight, and power. Additionally, consider whether the flashlight comes with a carrying case, holster, or any other accessories that may aid in portability.

Durability

Since a 12000 Lumen flashlight is likely to be used in outdoor or rugged environments, durability is crucial. Look for a flashlight with a sturdy, waterproof, and shock-resistant build. Check the materials and construction, as well as the manufacturer's warranty, to ensure the product can withstand the wear and tear of everyday use.

Battery Life

A 12000 Lumen flashlight requires a significant amount of power. As such, it's essential to consider the battery life. High-capacity rechargeable batteries are usually recommended for these types of flashlights. Additionally, a fast charging time and the ability to use replaceable batteries can be great advantages.

Beam Type and Beam Pattern

Different flashlight models come with different beam types and patterns. A focused beam is ideal for long-distance illumination, while a wider beam pattern is better for close-up tasks. Consider the activities you'll be using the flashlight for and choose one with a beam type and pattern that suits your needs.

2024.06.02 06:08 WidmanstattenPattern Audio and video stuttering on a new high-end gaming PC in routine applications

Using the template offered up by the group here, but if any additional information would help with diagnosis, I'm happy to throw it in.
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core
Motherboard: MSI PRO B650M-A WiFi Micro ATX AM5
BIOS Version: 7D77v1J (the latest, updated a few days ago)
RAM: 32GB G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL36
PSU: Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80 + Gold Certified Fully Modular Power Supply
Case: Deepcool CH370 MicroATX Mid Tower
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 Home
GPU Drivers: GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER - Version: 555.85
Chipset Drivers: AMD B550 CHIPSET DRIVERS VERSION 2.10.13.408
Background Applications: DISCORD
Description of Original Problem: System is fairly new and high-end. It experiences weird audio static and video stuttering in applications that ought not to be particularly demanding - I get it in YouTube videos, or even playing older games with minimal system requirements like Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight, or Slay the Spire. Indeed, right now I'm writing this in Firefox with VLC playing some music in the background, and the music occasionally stutters.
Troubleshooting: I've tried a lot. All of the drivers (motherboard, video, audio) have been updated. So has the BIOS. Set Windows to maximum performance power mode. CPU and GPU temperatures look great, and percent utilizations all look low. I've run some benchmarking software (Passmark Performance Test) and the computer comes out looking fantastic on all axes. I read that there might be some issues with multiple audio outputs, so I disabled the devices for the audio outputs to my two monitors. Everything has its own power input from the modular power supply; nothing is daisy-chained.
The labor-intensive thing to do would be to try swapping out hardware components one by one with known working parts, but I don't actually have another modern desktop to cannibalize. And that would take forever.

Hi! I work at a daycare, and Iā€™ve noticed that one of the children's parents always makes inappropriate comments to me. At first, I thought he was just one of those people who always compliment others or that he just wanted to have a friendly relationship with his kids' educators, but now I think itā€™s more than that.
During my first weeks there, I was always assigned to his younger daughterā€™s group (the babies), so I would see him often. At first, it was brief friendly talk, but it really escalated when I started working with the older kids (4-year-olds). His other daughter, letā€™s call her Emmy, and I clicked right away when we found out weā€™re birthday twins. She always wants me to play with her and asks for hugs literally every two minutes. Whenever her dad comes to pick up his kids, she always makes sure to give me a big hug and tells her dad that weā€™re best friends.
Last month, Emmyā€™s dad and I ran into each other at the grocery store and started small talk. We were mostly talking about Emmy, and he just kept saying how much she loves me and that she wants me to come over to their house. I said something like, ā€œOh, sheā€™s so cute. I love spending time with her too,ā€ and tried to end the conversation, but he just kept talking. I noticed him looking at my chest a couple of times, which was one of the reasons I wanted to leave. He then offered me a ride, and although I initially declined, he kept pushing it, so I accepted. I didnā€™t let him see my house; I told him to drop me off downtown.
Since then, I keep running into him, but to the point where I donā€™t think itā€™s a coincidence. He doesnā€™t live in the same neighborhood as me (I live near downtown). In fact, when he dropped me off the first time, he kept going on and on about how he could never live somewhere as far away as I do. So why do I keep seeing him? In our conversations, he always makes sure to compliment my physical appearance or mention my age and how ā€œyoung and smartā€ I am. It obviously makes me uncomfortable, but for the sake of his daughters, especially Emmy, I donā€™t really say anything. I have tried to set some boundaries, but itā€™s really uncomfortable. I jokingly said once, ā€œWell, if I were your age, I donā€™t think Iā€™d date someone as young as me,ā€ and he was like, ā€œWell, good thing I would,ā€ and he laughed.
I casually mentioned this in a conversation with one of my colleagues, and she said something like, ā€œOh, heā€™s a flirt; thatā€™s what he does.ā€ She kept talking about how handsome he is (he is handsome but also a married dad of two). I asked if thereā€™s anything we, as educators, could do if, hypothetically, a parent is being too friendly/flirty with us, and she basically said no.
Anyway, itā€™s gotten hot outside, so Iā€™ve started wearing sundresses, shorts, and crop tops, and he always compliments my outfits when he sees me and says he likes seeing my bellybutton piercing out (EW). Also, Emmy has told me that her dad said Iā€™ll be their nanny for the weekends when the daycare is closed. I donā€™t know if he actually said that because sheā€™s 4, but I donā€™t even want to ask because I donā€™t want to give him ideas if he didnā€™t actually say it.
He has tried multiple times to give me his phone number to ā€œcall him if thereā€™s anything,ā€ and I always gently reminded him that we can communicate through the daycare app. He always says that he would rather call me directly than through the app. He was being super pushy, and I felt a little trapped, so I gave him my phone number. He texts me all the time, asking what Iā€™m doing, etc. I have FaceTimed his daughters a couple of times, but it just feels wrong. I briefly talked about this to a friend, and she said that she wouldā€™ve told his wife. I donā€™t even think I have the guts to do that. Ever since my friend told me that, I started casually bringing up his wife in conversations. He would always change the subject or say sheā€™s not here.
Anyway, all this is to ask: what should I do? Am I imagining things? I feel trapped. I canā€™t lose my job; Iā€™m scared that itā€™ll take me forever to find another one. Also, all the kids love me, and I love them. Iā€™ve really gotten attached to them. I love Emmy too, and I mostly feel bad for her. What would you do in this situation? Iā€™ve asked, and you canā€™t ban a family from attending a daycare, so that option is out of the window. Also, we canā€™t be on our phones 24/7, so itā€™s extremely hard to get ā€œevidence.ā€ Anything helps. Thank you!
I donā€™t know iā€™m Iā€™m posting this on the right subs, if not sorry about that
Edit: Iā€™ve never seen his wife, heā€™s the one who does everything. Emmy has mentioned her a few times (saying things like ā€œMommy got me this shirtā€ or something) but I donā€™t even know what she looks like. He doesnā€™t talk about her unless I bring her up.
Edit 2: About the crop tops, we are allowed to wear them at work with long pants. Same thing with shorts, we can wear them with a non-cropped shirt. 90% of his comments about my piercing were outside of work, when I would run into him. Also, I blocked him. I donā€™t know if he noticed, but heā€™s blocked.
Edit 3: A lot of people are asking me why/what I am scared of. I donā€™t have an exact answer. Iā€™ve had a lot of traumatizing experiences with men so I donā€™t feel comfortable around any man in general. I donā€™t have any guy friends. Itā€™s like I think of all the things they could do to me if they wanted to, then I get scared/uncomfortable. I know I have a fawn trauma response and I am working on it, I really am. Also, I have work on Friday (or Wednesday maybe) and I will talk to my supervisors and update.

OOP: i do say those things and he says that weā€™re like family because iā€™m ā€œfriendsā€ with his daughter. i donā€™t always answer and heā€™ll sometimes bring it up when he drops off/picks up his kids and i say things oh i was busy or i didnā€™t see it. i keep telling myself that this time ill be direct and just say no but i just get so scared. itā€™s not like im full on flirting with him, i do reject him but not as firmly as i should i guess. whenever he brings up dating i say things like im not looking for a bf. and for the facetime thing, one time he was being really insistent and i said no and the text time i saw them at work, emmy asked me why i didnā€™t pick up the call and he said in front of her that i was being mean that day and that i didnā€™t wanna talk to her. she ended up crying. i tried telling my supervisor and she said that she never noticed any weird behaviour from him and heā€™s a very friendly man. she asked me if i had any proof which i didnā€™t. idk what else to do
~
i tried to talk to one of my supervisors about it but rn theyā€™re always busy (theyā€™re the new owners of the daycare so theyā€™re trying to figure everything out) so itā€™s never a good time. i am alone with my group. i see him in the morning when heā€™s dropping off emmy and in the afternoon outside when heā€™s picking his kids up. our conversation in the morning are more brief bc all the parents are coming at the same time so thereā€™s not much time. in the afternoon, he always tells emmy to keep playing with her friends just to buy more time and when i tell him i have to go back to watching everyone he says that there are plenty of other educators who are watching them and not to worry about it. i try to say things like hey i really have to go back to work/nowā€™s not a right time but itā€™s like thereā€™s nothing i can say to get through to him. im the one in charge of emmy i have to be the one to talk to him about emmyā€™s day etc

Update #1: May 23, 2024
Hello everyone,
I want to thank everyone who gave me advice. I tried to read every comment. Before I give you an update, I need to clarify a few things:
  1. I donā€™t work at a school; it's a private, family-owned (i think) daycare. I have three managersā€”two women and one man. They became the new owners in January. I primarily interact with one of the female managers. I've tried to discuss this situation with her, but itā€™s never the right time. For example, Iā€™d knock on her office door and say I needed to talk about Emmyā€™s dad. Sheā€™d say sheā€™s busy and ask me to come back later. When I did, sheā€™d apologize and ask to talk the next day. She also suggested texting, but I didn't feel comfortable telling her everything through text.
  2. Some suggested having another teacher watch my group when he arrives, but thatā€™s not possible. In the afternoon, after nap time, we take the kids outside until their parents pick them up. All educators need to stay outside to supervise. When parents arrive, I discuss their child's day and hand over their keychain. Itā€™s difficult because he always approaches me when Iā€™m distracted, so I canā€™t warn a coworker.
  3. Rides: The first time I saw him outside of work was at the grocery store. He recognized me, we chatted briefly, and he offered me a ride. I declined, but he insisted, saying it was ungentlemanly to let me carry groceries alone. He paid for my groceries and drove me home, despite my discomfort. I sat in the backseat, but still. I shouldnā€™t have said yes. I was just so weirded out by the entire situation. The second time was at a gas station. After hanging out with a friend in his neighborhood, I stopped there for a drink. He saw me and again offered a ride. He was pushy, so I reluctantly agreed. That was the last time I accepted a ride from him.
  4. Clothing: Most of his comments about my piercing happened outside of work. I donā€™t wear revealing clothes to work; I mostly wear sweats. Occasionally, I wear a long sleeve crop top with sweatpants, which my managers donā€™t mind. Weā€™re allowed to wear mom shorts. But again, I most of the time I wear sweats.
  5. Facetime: Iā€™ve Facetimed his daughters three times, and each call lasted less than five minutes. I realize now that this was inappropriate, but yes it happened.
  6. Texting: I donā€™t always respond to his texts. If he texts ten times, I might reply three times. The thing is, he often asks in person why I donā€™t respond, telling me he had something important to say. Heā€™d sometimes say that in front of Emmy, then say, ā€œYou see that Emmy, sheā€™s not nice to Daddy. She doesnā€™t want to talk to me.ā€
  7. I live in Canada. Some suggested carrying pepper spray for protection, but itā€™s illegal here, so thatā€™s not an option.
  8. I donā€™t know his exact age, but Iā€™d guess late 30s to mid-40s. Iā€™ve never seen his wife; some suggested they might be separated. Maybe. Emmy has mentioned her mom before, but she seems closer to her dad.
  9. The dating comment: I had ZERO idea my comment could be seen as flirting. I thought I was indirectly turning him down. When the topic of dating came up, I said I didnā€™t want a relationship. He joked that weā€™d get along great, and I responded by saying ā€œDonā€™t you think youā€™re a little too old for me?ā€ And he said, jokingly, ā€œOh, man. Dont say that. Youā€™re very mature.ā€ Thatā€™s when I said that I wouldnā€™t date someone my age if I were his age.
Update: I was only scheduled on Friday this week but ended up working today too. I texted my manager saying that I have something very important to tell her about a parent and that I'm afraid my safety could be compromised. She asked me to come to her office before work to talk about it.
I was very scared because reading the comments made me realize that I could lose my job because I gave him my number. But I still told her everything (looking back, I missed a few things, but I told her the most important things). I told her about how, in the beginning (when I was assigned to his 2-year-old daughter's group), he was very friendly and nice to me, but it escalated when I started caring for Emmy. I told her about the grocery incident, the gas station incident, and seeing him near my neighborhood.
She kind of "defended" him by saying that I live near downtown, so itā€™s not a miracle to run into someone there. I then brought up the fact that, yes, I understand that, but heā€™s told me that he enjoys staying in his neighborhood and that I live so far away, and he doesnā€™t understand how I'm able to work at a job so far away, so it was weird to see him so much. I think it made her understand more. I told her about the comments about my appearance. I asked her if it was possible to get assigned to another group, and she said yes.
I told her about me giving him my number after feeling pressured, and she said that I shouldnā€™t have done that, that itā€™s very dangerous to give out personal information like that. She also said that, especially with my job, all communication must be through the app. She said that she was a little more upset at the dad because heā€™s been attending that daycare for almost four years, and he knows that parents are not allowed to do that.
I then told her about how he makes Emmy play with her friends when itā€™s time to go just to talk to me longer. She said that since I wonā€™t be assigned to Emmyā€™s group, I wonā€™t even have to talk to him at all. She said that sheā€™ll take care of it and let the other girls know to keep an eye on him.
I told her about the Facetimes and how he told Emmy that I was mean for not answering one time and how he made her cry. She only said that that was out of line. I asked if it was possible to ā€œbanā€ him from attending, and she said maybe. She doesnā€™t have any solid proof (I showed her some text messages, but she said that he was being friendly in the messages and that there was nothing sexual). She said that most of this was basically hearsay, and she doesnā€™t have concrete proof of him being an actual predator.
As for Emmy, we played together on the playground as usual. I think the hardest part for me is to slowly distance myself from her. I did, however, encourage her to play with her friends, but she would always come back every five minutes to ask to play with me. When her dad arrived, he greeted me and asked me about Emmyā€™s day and her keychain. I said that I did not take care of her today and pointed to the girl that did. I then got up to get Emmy to tell her to leave. He tried to stop me, but I just kept walking. I didnā€™t really give him time to talk to me. When I got Emmy, I gave her a hug, then stayed on the other side of the playground, and they left. I know itā€™s not much, but at least I avoided an interaction with him today.
I think thatā€™s it. I tried to answer everything.
Edit: Heā€™s never driven me home, I would always ask to drop me off downtown. Typo sorry!

Commenter: If he texts you, tell him that you got a memo from work that says all interaction with parents must go through the app with no exceptions for legal and safety reasons and that you can't risk your job. Then block him.
Or just block him.

Update #2: May 24, 2024
Hi, I saw some comments asking for an update, so I wanted to share what happened because I am too ashamed to tell someone in real life. I had work from yesterday 8 AM to 5 PM, then went straight to the gym to work out with a friend. I got there around 6 PM and worked out until about 8:30 PM. I was walking home (I live about 10 minutes away from my gym) when I heard someone behind me. Looking back, I know I shouldnā€™t have walked home, but I didnā€™t think about it in the moment. I had music in my ears, so I didnā€™t know if someone was talking to me or on the phone, so I just kept walking. I felt the person getting closer and immediately thought, ā€œOh my God, what if itā€™s him?ā€ I started walking a little faster.
After about 2 minutes, the person tapped me on the shoulder. When I turned around, it was him. My heart dropped. I immediately froze. I had practiced what to say if I ever got into this situation, but of course I had to forget everything. He acted like we ran into each other and said, ā€œHey, itā€™s nice seeing you.ā€ I said, ā€œHi, nice seeing you, but I have to go.ā€ He complimented my hair (I recently dyed it) and said it looked good on me. I said a quick thank you and tried to leave. He then grabbed my wrist and said, ā€œI donā€™t like when you act like that.ā€ I just froze up; I couldnā€™t move. He asked why I donā€™t take care of Emmy anymore. He said that she constantly asks about me at home and that I make her cry. I stuttered and said I didnā€™t know, that Iā€™m not the one who decides. I said I have to go now, sorry. He then asked if I blocked him. I said I really canā€™t talk right now.
He then blurted out that he saw me working out. He was doing all of this while grabbing my wrist, mind you. I didnā€™t know what to say, so I repeated that I had to go. He started looking at me up and down in a disgusting way. He was staring at my boobs while smiling. He then started caressing my arms. One arm stopped at my waist, and the other one kept caressing my arm. He would sometimes move it to my chest and touch me there. I donā€™t know why I didnā€™t just punch him in the face. I just could. not. move. Before you ask, I wasnā€™t wearing anything revealing. I had on a hoodie and sweatpants. I even removed my belly piercing because I donā€™t like this type of attention.
I eventually quietly said, ā€œCan you please stop?ā€ He looked at me, smiled, and then left. Iā€™ve been getting sexually assaulted by men since the age of 7. I promised myself after getting sexually assaulted at 18 by a friend that I would never let it happen again. Now this. I donā€™t know why this keeps happening. Most of the time, I feel like my body isnā€™t even mine, just for someone else to use whenever they feel like it, no matter if I want it or not. Maybe it was my fault because I shouldnā€™t have walked home knowing I had a ā€œstalkerā€. Maybe itā€™s my fault because I didnā€™t tell him to leave me alone earlier. Maybe itā€™s my fault because I am 20 years old and I canā€™t fucking say no. I know he didnā€™t full-on grab my tits and squeeze them, but I feel so so violated. I am too ashamed to reveal this to anyone. I told my boss I was sick to avoid going to work for a couple of days.
I went to the police station, but they said there wasnā€™t anything they could do legally because he didnā€™t commit actual crimes and that I didnā€™t really have any proof. I just feel like they didnā€™t take me seriously. They gave me tips to be more careful like donā€™t walk late at night, change your number, donā€™t have the same routine, etc., but thatā€™s it. They wonā€™t give me a restraining order. Iā€™ll be honest, I didnā€™t understand half of the terminology they were using. But from what I understood, weā€™re both adults so the texting and Facetimes arenā€™t incriminating enough. I guess Iā€™ll just stay home. I feel so dirty. I thought I had everything under control because I found a way to avoid him at work, but I guess I was wrong. I genuinely thought that I found a way to make everything stop.
The worst part is I saw some comments saying that this whole situation could escalate if he finds out that Iā€™m avoiding him and I didnā€™t believe them. Again, I was wrong. I donā€™t know if Iā€™m looking for advice or sympathy, but I donā€™t have anyone in my life who could help. Maybe some friends, but I am just so ashamed and embarrassed to say that a man was ā€œgropingā€ me and I basically let it happen because I was scared. Itā€™s just humiliating. As for my family, knowing my mom, she would most likely slut-shame me and say itā€™s my fault. But yeah, hereā€™s the update I guess. I donā€™t know if Iā€™ll update after this, mainly because I donā€™t know what else to do.
Edit: (copying and pasting this from one of my replies because I can see how it looks): i posted about him 4 days ago but i started having doubts about him stalking be like a month ago i think. i talked to my manager wednesday and i got assigned to another group. i didnā€™t interact with him wednesday and yesterday. HE is the one saying that his daughter is crying about not seeing me. i know itā€™s not true, he keeps saying stuff like this. saying things about his daughter to make me feel bad because he knows weā€™re close. when this incident happened, i went straight to the police station near my home to tell them what happened (bc itā€™s opened day and night). i asked if with what i have i can have a restraining order and they said no. i know im updating quick but i genuinely donā€™t have anyone i can talk to about this
Edit 2: Okay I think Iā€™ll just quit my job stay with a friend for now. Iā€™ll send an email explaining my situation with my boss and try to find a stay at home job. Thank you all
