~Tavalisse – Treatment for ITP, FDA Approved April 17, 2018~
~What is ITP?~
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an illness that can lead to bruising and bleeding. Low levels of the cells that help blood clot, also known as platelets, most often cause the bleeding.
Once known as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, ITP can cause purple bruises. It also can cause tiny reddish-purple dots on the skin that look like a rash.
Children can get ITP after a virus. They most often get better without treatment. In adults, the illness often lasts months or years. People with ITP who aren't bleeding and whose platelet count isn't too low might not need treatment. For worse symptoms, treatment might include medicines to raise platelet count or surgery to remove the spleen. Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) - Symptoms and causes - Mayo Clinic
~What is Tavalisse?~
TAVALISSE is a prescription medication used to treat adults with low platelet counts due to chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) when a prior treatment for ITP has not worked well enough. It is not known if TAVALISSE is safe and effective in children.
The cost for Tavalisse oral tablet 100 mg is around $15,404 for a supply of 60 tablets, depending on the pharmacy you visit. ~Rezlidhia – R Acute Myeloid Leukemia, FDA Approved December, 22, 2022~
~What is Relapsed or Refractory Acute Myeloid Leukemia?~
Relapsed, or recurrent, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) means the leukemia has come back after treatment and remission.
Refractory AML means the leukemia did not respond to treatment. Complete remission has not been reached because the chemotherapy drugs did not kill enough leukemia cells.
Both relapsed and refractory AML need more treatment to reach complete remission.
Your healthcare team will suggest treatments based on your needs and work with you to develop a treatment plan. Some factors considered for your treatment include:
your age
your health
how long the leukemia was in remission
treatments you had before
where the leukemia comes back
Treatment options usually include chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant if possible. Targeted therapy may also be used.

~What is IDH1?~
Somatic mutations in isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) genes occur frequently in adult Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and less commonly in pediatric AML… Enhanced genomic and epigenomic profiling of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has led to identification of recurrent mutations that are prognostic and are candidates for targeted therapy. Somatic mutations in isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) genes, IDH1 and IDH2, occur in ∼6% to 16% and ∼8% to 19% of adult patients with AML, respectively.1-5 In pediatric AML, IDH mutations are rare, occurring in <4% of patients.6-11

~What is Rearranged During Transfection Positive (RET+)?~
RET-positive cancer is caused by a mutation or abnormal re-arrangement of the RET gene. It occurs most commonly in lung cancer and several types of inherited and sporadic thyroid cancers. RET alterations also occur in an estimated 1-2% of multiple other cancers, including ovarian, pancreatic, salivary, breast, and colorectal cancers.
RETpositive Empowering Patients and Driving Research
Rearranged during transfection (RET) rearrangements were first identified as oncogenic drivers in NSCLC in 2012. The proportion of patients with NSCLC who have RET rearrangements (ie, fusion-positive disease) is approximately 1%-2%.
RET Fusion-Positive Non-small Cell Lung Cancer: The Evolving Treatment Landscape The Oncologist Oxford Academic (oup.com)
RET alterations occur most commonly in lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)) and the number of new cases diagnosed each year is considerable, accounting for approximately 37,500 [IG1] cases worldwide and 4,000 cases in the US (2% of NSCLC) (2,3). RET alterations are also common in several types of inherited and sporadic thyroid cancers and can occur in other types of cancers like ovarian, breast, pancreatic, and colorectal cancers, among others (4-8) adding >110,000 cases yearly worldwide (9).

~IRAK/4 – Clinical Trials~
Rigel’s investigational candidate, R289, is an oral, potent and selective inhibitor of interleukin receptor-associated kinases 1 and 4 (IRAK1/4).
Toll like receptors (TLRs) and the interleukin 1 receptor family (IL-1Rs) play a critical role in the innate immune response and dysregulation of these pathways can lead to a variety of inflammatory conditions such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. Chronic stimulation of both receptor systems has also been implicated in causing a pro-inflammatory bone marrow environment leading to persistent cytopenias in lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (LR-MDS) patients1.
R835 is a selective dual inhibitor of IRAK1/4 that blocks TLR4 and IL-1R-dependent systemic cytokine release. In preclinical studies, R835 demonstrated activity in multiple animal models of inflammatory disease2,3 and showed that dual inhibition of IRAK1 and IRAK4 provided more complete suppression of inflammatory cytokines when compared to an IRAK4-selective inhibitor4.
Development of R289:
In a Phase 1 clinical trial, R835 was well tolerated and inhibited LPS-induced inflammatory cytokine production in healthy volunteers, demonstrating proof-of-mechanism.5 Phase 1 clinical studies of R289 (an oral prodrug that is rapidly converted to R835 in the gut) are also complete.
A Phase 1b open-label, multicenter trial of R289 in patients with relapsed/refractory lower-risk MDS is currently enrolling (NCT05308264). The primary endpoint for this trial is safety with key secondary endpoints including preliminary efficacy and evaluation of pharmacokinetic properties.
~Bemcentinib – Bergenbio Partnership~
In June 2011, Rigel entered into an exclusive, worldwide research, development and commercialization agreement with BerGenBio for its investigational AXL receptor tyrosine kinase (AXL) inhibitor, R428 (now referred to as bemcentinib).
Bemcentinib is a potent, selective and orally bioavailable AXL inhibitor and the furthest along in clinical trials. In preclinical studies, bemcentinib was shown to have an effect as a single agent therapeutic in the prevention and reversal of acquired resistance to standard of care cytotoxics and targeted therapies and may also slow or prevent tumor metastasis.
Rigel received an upfront payment and is eligible for milestone payments and potential sublicensing revenue, as well as tiered royalty payments on any future net sales of products emerging from the collaboration.
~R552 Systemic – Eli Lilly Partnership~
Rigel’s investigational candidates are oral, potent and selective inhibitors of receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 1 (RIPK1).
RIPK1 is a critical signaling protein implicated in a broad range of key inflammatory cellular processes including necroptosis, a type of regulated cell death, and cytokine production. In necroptosis, cells rupture leading to the dispersion of cell contents, which can trigger an immune response and enhance inflammation. RIPK1 inhibition has therapeutic potential in treating autoimmune, inflammatory, and neurodegenerative disorders.
Rigel’s RIPK1 inhibitor program includes R552, a systemic molecule being developed for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory disorders, and brain penetrating RIPK1 inhibitors for central nervous system (CNS) diseases. In preclinical studies, R552 demonstrated prevention of joint and skin inflammation in a RIPK1-mediated murine model of inflammation and tissue damage.
Development of R552:
In Q2 2023, the initial Phase 2a trial (NCT05848258) in moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) was initiated by partner Eli Lilly.
Development CNS-penetrating RIPK1 inhibitors:
Currently in preclinical studies.
~Milademetan – Daiichi Sankyo Partnership~
Rigel has a long-standing collaboration with Daiichi-Sankyo for developing murine double minute 2 (MDM2) protein inhibitors in cancer, which were discovered in Rigel’s laboratories.
Preliminary safety and efficacy data from an early Phase 1 study of milademetan (formerly DS-3032), an oral selective MDM2 inhibitor, in hematological malignancies suggests that it may be a promising potential treatment for oncology indications.
Rigel received an upfront payment and is eligible for milestone payments, as well as tiered royalty payments on any future net sales of any products emerging from the collaboration.

~Summary and Prediction~
The current share price of sub $1 does not feel justified. I would anticipate financial breakeven by the end of 2024 or potentially in Q1 or Q2 of 2025. The robust pipeline, progress, and expected revenue growth are enough to justify a much higher valuation. The debt load is manageable, but the potential for S is concerning. I believe that the S is not necessary and revenue growth and progress should speak for itself. I am not as bullish as the analysts at HC Wainright for a $15 PT, but the valuation should be at least 3x to 5x from the current value. This thesis does not highlight the patents surrounding their drugs either which some extend into 2035 and beyond. Perhaps what Wall Street is discounting is the fact that most of the drugs are very niche. However, the currently available drugs have an addressable market, albeit less universal than some, but you should value it in the sense of multiple facets (a 1000 headed snake is the phrase I wanted to use). I believe the company should be valued with specialty drugs in mind which would command a higher PE ratio. At the current day and time of writing, the value should be at least $1.50 to $1.75 ~at a minimum~ with a 12 month price target of $3 to $5+. I will be looking for continued revenue growth in each quarter this year and realization of revenue from Gavreto in Q2 or Q3 this year. The partnerships should not be discounted either and the current share price if it lingers here perhaps may attract a merger or acquisition. I initially began the research thinking that perhaps the drugs were too niche, but given the multiple drugs they are working with, I believe their revenue sources will continue to grow if you do not focus on one particular drug as the main performer. With the most recent inflation report being cooler than expected, I would suspect larger funds and institutions will be circling back to riskier assets.

2024.05.18 23:31 Tesa_Tesanovic1988 Venture Capital and Innovation Strategies

Innovation is the lifeblood of business growth and development. Without it, your organization will fall behind its competition and eventually die out. However, innovation is expensive, and many small and medium-sized organizations can’t afford to innovate unless they get financial help from external sources.

Investments in bio-engineering can be risky, as many startups and early-stage companies may face regulatory hurdles, intellectual property challenges, or other barriers to success. However, for investors with a long-term outlook and a strong appetite for innovation, bio-engineering can offer significant opportunities for growth and returns.
Venture capital is one of the most common sources of financing for organizations that want to invest in innovation. Venture capital is a type of dedicated financial help that funds businesses to make a capital gain until publicizing them or even selling them outright. A distinguishing feature of venture capital involves screening, monitoring, and advising on a portfolio of its businesses. These non-financial services enable venture capitalists to choose businesses with high growth potential and make them succeed. The three distinctive features discussed before add to the venture capital’s edge over other types of financing that are not as dedicated (Sorensen, 2007).
Venture capitalists normally select companies that they can exit fast enough. This means that they select innovative organizations whose ROI is expectedly high. Therefore, such organizations are those that use knowledge to generate innovative capabilities to create profit in the short term.
Innovation is a process of continuous improvement and growth. It leads to the creation of new value or business ideas, which in turn contributes to the growth of any organization. The ability to innovate helps in increasing the revenue and profit margins of an organization by making it competitive in its industry.
Venture capitalists are interested in investing in innovative startups because they believe this will help them achieve their financial goals faster compared to the companies that do not invest in innovation. Venture capitalists want their investment to grow fast so they can exit quickly after making their money back at a higher rate than what they invested initially into it.
In the age of the knowledge economy, innovation is a main source of competitiveness (Daghfous, 2004). Based on what is known as the knowledge-based vision, the performance of the organization lies in its capacity to create, blend, recombine, and make use of knowledge (Grant, 1996). Therefore unstated, knowledge is indispensable to the capacity of an organization to innovate and favorably compete with others, causing it to be a strategic resource (Ibarra-Cisneros et al., 2021). The knowledge inside a firm is normally formed internally or by the outward acquisition of information and know-how. Accordingly, the knowledge absorptive capacity (AC) of a firm is vital for the creation of value inside a firm (Xie et al., 2018).
According to Davenport and Prusak (1998), knowledge cannot be completely dispersed without the backing of absorptive capacity. At the same time, the transfer of knowledge within a firm will come up as a main hindrance without the backing of absorptive capacity, inserting value on the significance of absorptive capacity within firms (Wuryaningrat, 2013).
Absorptive capacity has been described as the capacity of an organization to acknowledge the value of fresh outward information, integrate it, and implement it for business goals. Besides, it has become amongst the most dominant research scopes in business management. Huang et al. (2015) also note that absorptive capacity refers to a group of organizational practices that need to recognize and use knowledge, stressing the significance of absorptive capacity in the process of managing knowledge.
Most studies back the idea of absorptive capacity directly or indirectly prompting innovation and organizational financial outcomes (Tseng et al., 2011). The procedures of absorption of outward knowledge have grown into key aspects for innovation in organizations, making them to better adjust to transformations within the competitive atmosphere. Because of this, there are still many opportunities for research within the scopes of relational learning, absorptive capacity, as well as the attainment of a competitive edge (Tseng et al., 2011).
According to Xie et al. (2018), two vital gaps restrict deep hypothetical and empirical progresses in the management of absorptive capacity. Foremost, some programs of research have considered diverse proportions of absorptive capacity, while this dimensional separation of the construct and its function is not clear, conceptually and practically. Nonetheless, some studies have concentrated on the relationship between the diverse measures of absorptive capability and the innovation performance of a firm (Yaseen, 2020). Absorptive capacity is a tacit and intricate concept, making it challenging to measure. Learning the connection between venture financing and absorptive capacity can hence enhance our comprehension concerning how the source of financing impacts the innovation tactic of entrepreneurial organizations.

Absorptive Capacity and Innovation

Companies are working within a very competitive setting and need great measures of knowledge, which has turned into one of their most vital resources (Lian and Wu, 2010). To compete favorably, organizations cannot depend only on their external knowledge web but must progress their absorptive capacities to dynamically source new knowledge (Sancho-Zamora et al., 2021). This imposes methods that enable learning, allowing them to disperse and use the knowledge that will offer them fresh organizational innovations. Furthermore, the merging of this acquired knowledge is decided by an organization’s absorptive capacity. Hence, firms are required to possess and create, internal absorptive capacity to enhance innovation performance. This is vital since this form of capacity can impact the efficiency of innovation actions.
The first parties to describe absorptive capacity as the ability of an organization to assess fresh knowledge from outside, integrate it, and use it for commercial reasons were Cohen and Levingthal in 1990 (Wuryaningrat, 2013). A firm can obtain and efficiently utilize external and internal knowledge that will impact its innovation. This style looks at absorptive capacity as an outcome of not just research and development activities but similarly the variety or depth of the knowledge base of an organization, its former learning encounter, a mutual language, the presence of cross-functional points, and the mental frameworks, as well as problem-solving capability of the members in an organization (Camison and Fores, 2010). In this manner, absorptive capacity is vital for organizations to utilize outward knowledge and hence trigger inner innovation (Dutse, 2013).
Knowledge has become the most vital resource for organizations; outward knowledge concerning markets and technologies is thought to be key for generating inner knowledge in research and development units. Using absorptive capacity, organizations can change outward knowledge into innovative capabilities. Originally, absorptive capacity begins with gaining knowledge from the environment and it culminates by getting the best out of it (Saebi and Foss, 2015). This dynamic ability enables organizations to be in a better place to grow any form of innovation. Organizational learning theory recommends that an organization’s innovation actions are an outcome of its knowledge base.
Earlier research discovered that organizations having a greater absorptive capacity were more predisposed to undertake product, process, organizational, or even marketing innovations. In the same way, Calero-Medina and Noyons (2008) mapped programs of research connected to absorptive capacity and its connection to diverse domains, identifying substantial relations between absorptive capacity and innovation within the organization.
More current work, like the one by Chen and Chang (2012) discovered that the more the level of absorptive capacity of the organization, the more the level of innovativeness within the organization. They also discovered within their systematized literature review that most prevailing research concerning innovation literature accentuates the capacity to use outward knowledge. Moreover, this relation with fresh external knowledge enhances the absorptive capacity.
According to a research program undertaken by Liao et al (2007), empirical proof was given that innovation stems from the necessity for sharing knowledge, instigated by its absorptive capacity. When absorptive capacity progresses, it becomes very simple for anyone to form a noteworthy innovation grounded on acquired knowledge. Indarti (2010) similarly notes that absorptive capacity can be observed as a procedure by which a certain entity establishes innovative business goals (Wuryaningrat, 2013).
Notwithstanding the proof connecting absorptive capacity to innovation, this notion has developed in due course. The most comprehensive reconceptualization was suggested by Indarti (2010). They connected the idea to a set of company-wide routines and strategic procedures by which organizations acquire, change, and utilize knowledge to establish an active organizational capacity.

Dimensions of Innovation Capacity

Innovation is a vital element of the research enterprise, is very developed, and exists in all business procedures (Alshanty and Emeagwali, 2019). Nonetheless, the function of innovations, a main driver concerning a venture’s performance, has transformed in the latest years because of globalization and improved foreign competition (Pustorvrh et al., 2017). As a result, we comprehend innovation as the capacity of a firm to use knowledge and create novel products, services, and processes. Nonetheless, innovation typically encompasses some level of risk, which explains why outcomes are not always satisfying.
Various studies have demonstrated that innovativeness allows organizations to attain results, for instance, enhancement of the organization’s performance; growing exports; making a competitive edge; and or adding to the growth of the business. Generally, innovation assists organizations to react to competitive difficulties in globalized settings.
Innovativeness is an intricate capacity through which fresh knowledge and ideas are constantly used to attain excellent business performance using the integration of new offertories, product innovation, and the development of new processes for creating and distributing those novel offerings, and process innovation. These improve or sustain their efficiency and competitiveness. Process innovation concentrates on enhancing the efficiency and inner operations of an organization’s procedures to produce, bring together, or deliver the product. In this manner, another process can lessen the expenses or bring about extra production ability for an organization. Product innovation, conversely, is where an organization can present improved, distinguished, or even new products to the market to satisfy the needs of the consumers. Product innovation concentrates on the market and depends on robust abilities like quality, efficiency, speed, and flexibility, whereas process innovation has its place within the space of technical innovation. Both forms of innovation are closely connected and make up intricate procedures that normally encompass all functional sections of the organization.

Make your conclusions.
As a digital analyst for big companies I find this evident strategy from big US corporations to index Grusch "rare weird expressions" in the first positions of their search engines, to hide "Grusch" as a keyword from the cnn.com search engine, and now to ERASE completely Elizondo and all his articles.
You can evaluate by yourself from the screenshot above.
For a weird reason there are only obituaries listed for "Elizondo".

2024.05.18 16:03 ghhewh PO's new advert: A political attack on PiS or a serious discussion about Russian influence?

Let us start with the advert itself. Well, in form it is no different from the PiS adverts made by Kurski. Dramatic music, dramatic narration, dramatic frames, a few piles of skulls, a smiling Putin, Lukashenko and so on. It's obvious that the intention was to hammer the PiS = Russia equation into people's heads by appealing to the simplest of emotions, namely fear of a brutal superpower. Well, and it's a campaign ad, so of course the political opponent, i.e. PiS, is hit with a mace. Opinions differ. I am one of those who believe that this form will have the opposite effect to the one intended. In the safe electorate of PO it will probably be attractive. Everywhere else, it will cause embarrassment. As a result, many people will think that all this Russian influence is no real problem. Just another stage in the 20-year PO-PiS war. And I am not even talking about the so-called Jan Kowalski). This is exactly the tone in which professional pundits speak. It never ceases to amaze me, but what can I do, I have come to terms with the facts.
Well, it shouldn't be like that.
It has been argued that PiS has did a lot more and a lot worse over eight years. Yes, that is true. It has. And it would be nice if some pundits remembered that and didn't write silly things about how now, in May 2024, someone in Poland has called someone a traitor for the first time. Still, I guess we expected a more sophisticated rhetoric from the current government, didn't we? Because the problem of Russian influence is real and has been swept under the carpet as much as possible. And it needs to be dealt with in a calm, rational way.
That's right. Because apart from the form, there is also content in the ad. There is the statement that PiS "won the election with the help of illegally collected recordings from a Russian coal importer". Ok, here is the suggestion that PiS won ONLY because of this, which of course is not true. The 2015 victory, like any victory, was the result of many factors. Both the mistakes of the then PO-PSL coalition, the lies of PiS (Smolensk trutherism, refugee fearmongering, purported plans of privatising forests) and the poor result of the Left), which was missing a few tens of thousands of votes to enter the Sejm. Yes, this is manipulation, although we should also remember that we are talking about a 50-second election ad. Nevertheless, the base of this argument is as true as it can be. The recordings from the restaurant were commissioned by Marek Falenta, who imported Russian coal into Poland. The Russians were involved in this affair on several levels, to which I will return shortly. PiS obtained these recordings from Falenta, knowing that they had been obtained illegally and probably knowing that they were helping a Russian spy. PiS used them to help itself win the election. I'm sorry, but that's what happened.
It goes on to say that PiS increased imports of Russian coal. This is no secret either, the figures are public. In the last two years of the PO-PSL coalition, 6.5 and 4.9 million tonnes were imported from there. In the first years of the PiS government, these figures rose to 5.2, 8.6 and 13.1 million respectively, after which they began to fall. In 2019-2020, they reached a similar volume as in 2010-2011, i.e. with the PO-PSL government. Of course, this is manipulative, because to get a complete picture one would have to give the total volumes for eight years (and these are similar), while the sheer fact of the sudden increase in Russian coal imports after 2015 is undeniable.
It continued: 'Cases indicating the growing influence of Belarusian and Russian agencies have been swept under the carpet.
Excuse me, but weren't they? If it is possible to point to a constant, unchanging part of this issue during the eight years of the PiS government, it is the pattern, which has always been the same. Investigative journalists uncover some Russian influence on people close to the ruling party, some (let's be clear: some) media write about it, some of us are outraged, and then nothing happens. Little has been done about the Russian infiltration of circles opposing the government, see the Confederation, the anti-establisment and anti-vaccine movements and so on. The question 'where are the agencies' has even been asked so many times in pro-democratic social media that I could print these comments and cover my walls with them. Sorry, but that's how it was. I don't know if it gets any better, but that's the way it was.
Furthermore, 'they blocked investment in the expansion of the Polish army'.
If I were PO, I would stay away from this argument. Yes, PiS blocked the purchase of Caracal helicopters, and during Macierewicz's time as defense minister, the army sometimes even lacked uniforms. But all this is irrelevant today, given that after the Russian invasion of Ukraine the PiS government has expanded the Polish military a lot. This argument would make sense in 2019. In 2024 it does not. I note, however, that it was not as various PiS propagndists now portray it that they took power and immediately turned Poland into a military superpower. In fact, little was done in this direction for the first six years.
It continues: 'Thanks to the support and involvement of PiS politicians, Tomasz Szmydt, until recently a judge and in fact a spy who fled to Belarus, has made a dizzying career.
I don't know what could be controversial here? Probably just the clear naming of Szmydt as a spy. Actually, we don't know 100% what his role was, but ok, it fits into the convention of a campaign ad. On the other hand, the statement that Szmydt had a career on the side of PiS is, well, I'm very sorry, but: true.
Finally, there is a passage in which Tusk compares the United Right) to the communist ruling party PZPR, which was once deciphered as 'paid traitors, lackeys of Russia' (Płatni zdrajcy, pachołki Rosji) . It's all part of the political shit throwing. To make it stick, the PiS logo is turned upside down, and turns into the Russian coat of arms is. This is how the advert ends.
We have discussed the ad itself, but it has sparked a discussion about Russian influence in Poland. There is no shortage of voices saying that it is absurd to call PiS a 'pro-Russian party', because the PiS government has given a lot of military equipment to Ukraine, including priceless tanks, in considerable numbers. Let me perhaps clarify a few things.
It is necessary to specify what is meant by 'pro-Russian party'. Is PiS a party that openly says that Russia is great? No. Has Kaczyński ever said that he copied his policies from Russia? No. Has he openly sided with Russia against the West? Again, no.
But was Kaczyński saying much the same thing about the West that the Kremlin has been saying for years? Yes, he was. Did Kaczyński create a political crisis in relations with almost all of Poland's Western allies as soon as he took power? Yes, he did. Did he introduce a series of anti-democratic laws in Poland that resembled Russian solutions, albeit in a softer version? Yes. Did Kaczyński plan and promote a war with the EU institutions that ultimately led to an unprecedented freeze of EU subsidies to Poland? Yes. Did he speak the language of polexit? Yes, he did. Does all this fit into Russia's strategy of dismantling Western structures? Absolutely.
So perhaps a more appropriate word than 'pro-Russian' would be 'Russifying'? Or a little longer: 'often strongly pursuing the Kremlin's geopolitical interests, sharing the Kremlin's view of Europe and European values, as the Kremlin is fiercely anti-Western, though likely to see itself as very anti-Russian'?
Earlier I mentioned the tape scandal and the involvement of the Russians in it. Although it seems unlikely, some pundits have managed to dismiss this fact because it does not fit in with the fact that PiS supplied arms to Ukraine. Well, they say, if PiS is supposedly so pro-Russian that the Russians helped it come to power, how do you explain the aid? Well, first of all, its proponents forget something as trivial as chronology. When the people linked to the Russians were setting up the background to the tape scandal, there was no war. It was 2010-2012, and the first wiretap was set up in the spring of 2013. There was no Euromaidan, no rebellion in Donbas, no annexation of Crimea. No one could have predicted how PiS would behave in 2022, because no one expected anything unusual to happen in 2022.
On the other hand, it was foreseeable that PiS would be an anti-Western party. That it would be a party that would confront the EU and its individual members. That PiS would say similar things about the EU as Russia, as PiS had been saying for years, and that it would ally with far-right circles that said so even more. That it would make a mess in the intelligence agencies, just like in 2006. And now let's look at the chronology. In 2013, the first bugs were set up. In June 2014, a scandal erupts, the media repeats all these vulgar quotes for months, which kills off PO's chances in the 2015 elections. In the autumn of 2015, PiS takes power and almost immediately: breaks into the NATO counterintelligence expert centre, abolishes the ABW field delegations, removes almost everyone from the agencies and fills them with newcomers with no experience (just like in 2006), makes Macierewicz the head of the Ministry of Defence with all his Russian connections, which Macierewicz immediately turns into a landing spot for people with Russian connections (such as Gaj and Kownacki), supports the pro-Russian think tank Ordo Iuris and immediately initiates an anti-Western civilisational turn. In this context, should we be so surprised that the Russians might have preferred the PiS in power?
All this happens six years before any tanks are handed over to Ukraine. I know, shocker, history didn't start in the spring of 2022.
Well, and now PO is releasing that ad. And some people say: oh dear, now PiS is going to accuse PO of being pro-Russian and the PO is going to accuse PiS of being pro-Russian, It's unbearable, so let's pretend it's not happening. I won't hide it, it's tiresome. But it would be nice if, as a species, a rational species, we could sometimes look beyond the political insults and focus on the evidence. And there really is a lot of it. The fact that the advert presents the case in this way does not change the fact that the situation is extremely serious.
It has been argued that PO's ad is setting the European Parliament campaign entirely on the Russia-EU divide. This is true, but there is a nuance. Leaving aside the clumsy form and the manipulation I explained above... isn't it the case that it was PiS that just took part in no less than three summits of European and American eurosceptics, Trumpists and Putin lovers, where it was explicitly said that this is the election in which it would be decided whether Europe would return to 'normality', traditional values, Christian roots and a 'Europe of homelands', or be swallowed up forever by the woke behemoth? Needless to say, this is a narrative very similar to the one the Kremlin has been using for years?
In short, what we need now is a serious debate about Russian and Belarusian influence in Poland. A debate that has been sorely lacking in recent years. This debate will inevitably become part of a political conflict. It will not be avoided because we are also talking about the influence of top politicians (not only from the PiS, by the way). All the more reason to be careful. The PO ad is a campaign ad, so it has a different convention. Nevertheless, in my opinion, it does the opposite. It reduces a real problem to a political trend. We can only hope that this is just a stupid idea of a few PR excecs and not part of a strategy that will last for years. The recent actions of the ABW and the fact that Donald Tusk has announced the appointment of a commission of experts to investigate these influences allow for some cautious optimism on this issue. Time will tell, of course.

Flat Rate box not moving in shipping, while second box sent at same time/same transaction arrived two days later.
Shipped two packages to my parents in Texas from California. Both flat rate boxes, one small one medium.
Both boxes make it to local postal annex the next day, small box arrives the day after that. Medium box didn’t move after annex arrival scan, and now has changed to “moving through network” since the 13th. I’ve been in contact with the local post office that does my delivery, but they don’t seem to be getting any more answers than I am.
Can anyone provide any insight or give me any ideas for a next step? I’ve attached an image of the tracking.

/NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO U.S. NEWS WIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE U.S./
SUDBURY, ON , May 16, 2024 /CNW/ - SPC Nickel Corp. (TSXV: SPC) (" SPC Nickel " or the " Company ") is pleased to announce an upsize of its previously announced non-brokered private placement (the " Offering ") of common share units (" Common Share Units ") and flow‑through common shares (" FT Shares "). The Company has increased the aggregate gross proceeds of the Offering from $1,500,000 to $2,015,000 $0.06 to $0.055 per FT Share.
https://preview.redd.it/494kmjbh7z0d1.jpg?width=173&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=662ac4bbb0442f4428756d5ad0cf8941311de5d3
The Company anticipates issuing 30,740,000 Common Share Units and 8,681,818 FT Shares pursuant to the Offering.
Each Common Share Unit shall consist of one common share and one half of a purchase warrant of the Company (each whole warrant a " Warrant" ) to acquire one common share at an exercise price of $0.07 per share exercisable for a period of 18 months from the Closing Date.
The Company may pay to eligible finders assisting in the Offering (i) a cash commission equal to 6% of the gross proceeds raised by such finders; and (ii) such number of compensation warrants (" Compensation Warrants ") as is equal to 6% of the total number of Common Share Units and/or FT Shares sold by such finders. The gross proceeds from the FT Shares issued in connection with the Offering will be used to advance both the Company's West Graham East Project, located in the world-class Sudbury Mining Camp, and the Company's Muskox Property, located in Nunavut. In addition, such gross proceeds will be used to incur Canadian Exploration Expenses ("CEE") that are "flow-through critical mineral mining expenditures" (as such terms are defined in the Income Tax Act ( Canada ) ) on the Company's mineral properties. Proceeds from the Common Shares issued in connection with the Offering will be used for property maintenance and general working capital purposes.
The Offering remains subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.

2024.05.17 10:45 Fluffy_Swordfish_794 Footprint Gradient Colour Based “xyz” Amount Of Candles

Please can we add the ability to base the footprints gradient colouring using a look-back amount of volume (1-200 candles)?
It would make it much easier to spot significant volumes and highlight where this took place, almost instantly. With the current option this only displays it per candle, and whilst great I feel would be much more useful when combined with 50+ candles.

2024.05.17 05:28 SoupBrief174 For any survivors of SA in the music industry, free therapy & support

Hi everyone hope you all have been treating yourselves kindly and continuing to take care of you :)
I came across The Punk Rock Therapist, a non profit org ran by Kristina Sarhadi, Sarah Levy, and Samantha Maloney. Samantha being the interviewee of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCTOWPjPP_U
These are some of the ladies that co-released the “SOUND OFF: The Make the Music Industry Safe” Report from earlier. They provide free therapy sessions for survivors of predators in the music industry with people with direct experience. May this be a helpful tool to anyone who needs some support
Website: https://www.thepunkrocktherapist.org/
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thepunkrocktherapistorg/
“SOUND OFF: The Make the Music Industry Safe” Report: https://therepproject.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/SOUND-OFF-Make-the-Music-Industry-Safe-Report-February-2024.pdf
Their Press Release from February 28th 2024:
"(Los Angeles) – This Wednesday, a coalition of four women-led non-profits will launch a multi-month, aggressive advocacy campaign to hold the music industry accountable for sexual violence. The first stage of this coordinated campaign is the release of a report detailing the sexual abuse of women by artists, executives, and other prominent figures in the music industry. This comprehensive report chronicles the scathing history of seven decades of sexual abuse and coverup, from the 1950s to the present. Survivors and allies will shed light on the pervasive culture of abuse and demand systemic change in the music industry by making five demands:
1. No more NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) that silence survivors.
2. Mandated policy protocols. If You See Something, Say Something.
3. An independent organization funded by MusiCares – The Make the Music Industry Safe Division.
4. Publication of the names of artists and executives credibly accused of sexual assault and harassment.
5. Adoption of a Survivor Bill of Rights.
Beyond releasing this report, this coalition will outline demands for reform, call for new legislative measures, demand congressional hearings, and more.
WHEN: Wednesday, February 28, 2024, 1 pm PST
WHERE: 12011 San Vicente Blvd Suite 700, Los Angeles, CA 90049
Please email [makethemusicindustrysafe@gmail.com](mailto:makethemusicindustrysafe@gmail.com) and provide press credentials.
LIVE STREAM: The press conference will be live-streamed on makemusicsafe.org
For interview requests, please contact [makethemusicindustrysafe@gmail.com](mailto:makethemusicindustrysafe@gmail.com)
Non-profit organizations co-releasing the report:
The Representation Project: The Representation Project (TRP) is the leading gender watchdog organization. Using film and media as catalysts for cultural transformation, TRP inspires individuals and communities to challenge limiting gender stereotypes and shift norms. Jennifer Siebel Newsom founded the organization in 2011 in response to the overwhelming public demand for ongoing education and social action in support of her first film, Miss Representation.
Lift Our Voices: The mission of Lift Our Voices (LOV) is simple: to transform the American workplace, making it safer and more equitable for everyone. By organizing communities to change laws and policies, advocating for survivors, and promoting awareness for a safer and more inclusive workplace environment, we are rewriting the rules to ensure every worker has a voice.
The Punk Rock Therapist: The Punk Rock Therapist is a grassroots group of women who have dedicated their time, resources, hearts + souls to supporting survivors of sexual assault in the music industry through free therapy with a professional trauma-informed therapist who has walked the same path. TPRT provides ongoing mental health support centered around survivor empowerment + liberation from all forms of gender-based oppression.
Female Composer Safety League: The Female Composer Safety League (FCSL) was conceived in 2018 and was launched shortly after. Its mission to advocate for the safety and inclusion of women composers serves a vital need in the male-dominated fields of film music, television music, concert music, video game music, and commercial composing.

2024.05.17 02:21 Fun-King5328 Calgary Public Library- Staff Mistreatment

This is an excerpt from a resignation email of a staff who used to work at CPL:
Hello everyone,I hope you can read this before it is inevitably deleted. I have also made an All Teams post.In brief: this organization has become dominated by fear and secrecy rather than trust and transparency, to the point where it is paranoid about workers like you knowing their rights. Public information is kept secret, and people are afraid to speak out, even when they feel unsafe. A list of some of your rights is in point form below. My name is Jonathan Tieu. I have worked in a customer service role at Central for two years. I think of myself as a reasonable and forgiving person, and was once very proud to work for CPL. Things have led me here. It is time to stand up for what is right, and call out what is wrong.Apparently, sharing information, about your rights as an employee, and specifically when it comes to your safety, is frowned upon. Strange for a institution committed to intellectual freedom, right?Dealing with the public is fraught with hazards and unpredictability, as anyone who spends any appreciable time on the floor knows. Gender-, race-, and linguistic-based abuse add another dimension that I know coworkers have to put up with. I leave these experiences for others to share, if they choose. To me, it is absurd that hazards and problems were allowed to creep up, not acknowledged, and not dealt with. Simply put, fear has meant that issues are not dealt with properly.
In my story, the final straw was that my effort to let coworkers know their workplace rights was not supported by leadership. The Central Library will frequently host weekend live events, like concerts, on the main floor. There is also a playground in the children's section. On weekends, the noise level around these becomes extremely high. Staff have told me about their bodies tensing as they enter these areas to shelve or to help customers, or their ears ringing at the end of the day. This is a hazard that can easily be identified, and addressed. Yet it was not. To anyone who tried to bring up the issue of noise and safety with a manager and was dismissed with "There is no problem! The louder it is, the better it is!", know that your efforts have not been in vain. No one needs to suffer hearing damage from working at a library. Last Wednesday night, May 8th, 2024, I was a "zone coordinator" (like a branch shift supervisor, but for two floors at Central), and I wrote a message in Microsoft Teams asserting that I would stop work if the noise levels from a live event had potential to cause harm--occupational noise exposure limits are defined in the provincial OHS code--and reaffirmed that as a worker in Alberta, you have the right to refuse unsafe work, without fear of reprisal, written in legislation.
The reaction among my coworkers was very telling. Some told me I should have deleted the message, others that I would get in trouble, others that it was very brave, others that they were grateful for what I did. I do not consider what I did exceptional--all I did was share some information and remind people of their rights. But to even say that a problem with our workplace existed was radical, apparently.
Predictably, I was invited to a meeting with a supervisor. I was asked if there was "a better way to get my message across without telling everyone in the group", and that it felt "alarming". To me, if the act of being told your rights is alarming, something is very wrong. It speaks of a culture dominated by fear rather than trust: if you do not trust your employees to use their judgment and exercise their rights properly, you will fear them knowing what their rights are. This kind of culture is completely unbefitting of an organization that serves the public, dedicated to freedom of ideas. Information wants to be free, and if the library is as committed to intellectual freedom as much as it claims, remember that you have the right to learn and share ideas freely, even if some think that those ideas are alarming. Here are a few things you should know, because you deserve no less than the truth. This is public information, freely available online, for anyone:
To my coworkers: I hope things improve and soon. I see how burnt out everyone is, and I see the daily struggles on your faces. I think about the coworker who told me she prayed every day that she would make it home safely, but was afraid of not getting her term extended. I hope you are feeling better these days. Thank you everyone for being there to teach, mentor, and share. I have learned so much from you. To facilities, drivers, and support staff: It has been a honor to work alongside such a dedicated, fun, and hardworking team. You are the ones that make the library happen, literally. It broke my heart each time I heard your concerns were not taken seriously. To the librarians, a simple exercise: first, imagine you are a member of the public. Try to find FOIP request information on the public CPL website, and then try to find how to contact a branch manager. Now, try the website of, say, Edmonton's library. You can draw your own conclusions. To management: Ask yourself how you let fear overpower trust. Speaking the truth should not be considered a brave or radical act--it should be daily business. I hold that this organization shows all the signs of dysfunction (see this checklist as an example).
I believed in the mission of public libraries. I enjoyed my work for a time, and it saddens me to leave on these terms. I hope that one day you all can be proud once more to say you work for the library. That's all, folks. This is your story now.
And this is a solution from one of the managers at CPL:
Hi everyone,
As you may already be aware, an email was sent out to all staff this morning expressing concerns about noise levels at the Central Library. I would like to let you all know that action to follow up on this concern was initiated last week and will continue to occur. We will share further updates on potential solutions or mitigation strategies as we have them. I would like to invite everyone that has questions, concerns, or perspectives to share to come speak with me. You can pop by my office or schedule a time. I will be in training tomorrow all day, but can make time if you send me a teams message or email.
an Update:
I would like to provide an update around noise mitigation. Staff are allowed to wear ear plugs on the floor when they are required to work in an area with noise with the expectation that you are aware of your surroundings and responsive to patrons. You may not wear earphones/earbuds. There will shortly be a stash of earplugs available for staff on the island in Level 2 BOH. Facilities and Helen are currently sourcing decibel meters to work on a noise assessment - details TBD.

I would also like to remind and invite people to speak directly to me or a supervisor when you have concerns or questions so we can follow up and address them in a timely manner.

Basin Uranium Stakes Uranium Project In The Great Divide Basin, Wyoming
VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA – MAY 16, 2024 – BASIN URANIUM CORP. (CSE: NCLR) (CNSX: NCLR.CN) (“Basin Uranium” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce it has acquired the Great Divide Basin Uranium Project (the “Project” or “GDB”) located in Sweetwater County, Wyoming, USA. The Project, which was acquired through direct staking by the Company, is comprised of 104 unpatented mineral lode claims totaling approximately 1,880 acres located in south-central Wyoming and within the Great Divide Basin (Figure 1). The claims are located contiguous with Premier American Uranium’s Cyclone Project which hosts an exploration target ranging from 6.5 million short tons averaging 0.06% U3O8 (7.9 million lbs. U3O8) to 10.5 million short tons averaging 0.06% U3O8 (12.6 million lbs. U3O8)[1]. Wyoming is home to both the largest uranium reserves and top producing uranium state in US[2], with the Great Divide Basin representing the least exploited of Wyoming’s basins estimated to contain over 270 million pounds of uranium[3].
“The staking of the GDB property represents our continued expansion into the USA and second internally generated project in Wyoming. We continue to execute on acquiring and developing strategic assets located in prolific mining districts with extensive historical exploration” commented Mike Blady, CEO of Basin Uranium. “The GDB Project and surrounding area have played host to a plethora of explorers, starting with the U.S. government in the 1950’s and most recently Tournigan Energy Ltd. in the mid 2000’s. The well understood geology, historic exploration, and proximity to UR Energy’s Lost Creek ISR mine and processing facility add to the appeal and potential of GDB. Wyoming represents one of the premiere exploration and mining jurisdictions for uranium within the USA which provides for a clearly defined and expedient pathway for permitting and development.”
The Great Divide Basin (GDB) Project, Wyoming
The GDB Project is comprised of approximately 1,880 acres of contiguous claims (104 unpatented mineral lode claims) located south and west of Jeffrey City and north and west of Wamsutter, Wyoming. The Project adjoins Premier American Uranium’s Cyclone Project and is readily accessible by gravel and dirt roads maintained by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The Project has seen extensive historical drilling dating back to the 1970’s with many of the pads identifiable on the western half of the project. More recently, Tournigan Energy drilled a number of wells with grade-thickness or GT (grade U3O8 X thickness in feet) in excess of 0.25GT from a grid located about 500 – 1,000 feet to the southwest of the project, further highlighting the potential for economic grade uranium mineralization within the immediate vicinity.

2024.05.16 18:06 SnooFloofs373 Help us find our dog: active family needing an emotional support dog [breeds]

I’ve been spinning in circles trying to find the best breed for us. The short intro: my son really wants/needs an emotional support animal to help him cope with severe anxiety by having a calm friend to sit with. But we are also an active, busy family that wants a fun friend that is not too much work or that costs a ton for grooming.
1) Will this be your first dog? If not, what experience do you have owning/training dogs?
This will be our family’s first dog. My wife grew up with dogs in her home.
2) Do you have a preference for rescuing a dog vs. going through a reputable breeder?
No preference, but looking for an adult dog that is already somewhat well behaved.
3) Describe your ideal dog.
A dog that can primarily be a companion for my so , but also an active friend for the whole family. We are busy and don’t have a lot of extra money, so we are trying to avoid a dog that requires extensive grooming or high cost professional grooming every month.
4) What breeds or types of dogs are you interested in and why?
We have considered the doodles, labs, golden retrievers, havanese. My son loves the look of Samoyeds and Bernese Mountain Dogs but recognizes they might be a good fit for us.
5) What sorts of things would you like to train your dog to do?
No extensive training other than being a calm companion for my son at times.
6) Do you want to compete with your dog in a sport (e.g. agility, obedience, rally) or use your dog for a form of work (e.g. hunting, herding, livestock guarding)? If so, how much experience do you have with this work/sport?
No
Care Commitments
7) How long do you want to devote to training, playing with, or otherwise interacting with your dog each day?
All together, we have 1-2 hours a day for active engagement with the dog, many more hours for snuggling
8) How long can you exercise your dog each day, on average? What sorts of exercise are you planning to give your dog regularly and does that include using a dog park?
1 hour. We live near two dog parks and also like to go for walks and jogs, if the dog can handle running.
9) How much regular brushing are you willing to do? Are you open to trimming hair, cleaning ears, or doing other grooming at home? If not, would you be willing to pay a professional to do it regularly?
We can handle brushing multiple times a week. We can do basic trimming and grooming at home but would likely need a professional grooming for more extensive jobs. We are open to paying, but don’t want to have a pay hundreds a month for grooming.
Personal Preferences
10) What size dog are you looking for?
Small to medium. My wife wants a dog she can pick up if needed.
11) How much shedding, barking, and slobber can you handle?
We are open to all of these things, but would prefer as little as possible of each.
12) How important is being able to let your dog off-leash in an unfenced area?
Would be helpful, but not required.
Dog Personality and Behavior
13) Do you want a snuggly dog or one that prefers some personal space?
Snuggly.
14) Would you prefer a dog that wants to do its own thing or one that’s more eager-to-please?
Eager to please
15) How would you prefer your dog to respond to someone knocking on the door or entering your yard? How would you prefer your dog to greet strangers or visitors?
No preference. Don’t need or want protection.
16) Are you willing to manage a dog that is aggressive to other dogs?
No
17) Are there any other behaviors you can’t deal with or want to avoid?
No
Lifestyle
18) How often and how long will the dog be left alone?
There may be one day a week where the dog would be alone for 4-5 hours. Other than that, we may all be gone 1-2 hours a day. I work from home most days and could be around to take care of the dog, but not necessarily actively engage all day.
19) What are the dog-related preferences of other people in the house and what will be their involvement in caring for the dog?
All will be involved with the dog, my son wants a calm companion. My daughters want a dog to play fetch with. My wife wants a low maintenance dog.
20) Do you have other pets or are you planning on having other pets? What breed or type of animal are they?
None
21) Will the dog be interacting with children regularly?
Yes: three kids, ages 12, 12, and 9.
22) Do you rent or plan to rent in the future? If applicable, what breed or weight restrictions are on your current lease?
We own our home with a good sized yard.
23) What city or country do you live in and are you aware of any laws banning certain breeds?
San Diego, CA. No legal concerns
24) What is the average temperature of a typical summer and winter day where you live?
Summer: 75, winter: 65

2024.05.16 14:43 JTViper91 Water Outlet Recommendations - Do I Trust Amazon Reviews?

Hey fellow... Cruzers? Cruzians? Cruzites?
Anyway...
Hey! I'm in the process of replacing my hoses (2014 LT, 1.4L Turbo) and I'm seeing a lot of people singing the praises of aluminum water outlets. Given that I'm already going to be mucking around with my hoses, do we think I might as well go about swapping-out the factory outlet with an aluminum one and, if so, is there one that you've used without issue?
I've seen a bunch on Amazon and quite a few of them appear to be comparably priced to the plastic AC Delco and Dorman options.
My main concern is what kind of reliability I can expect from an aluminum part at an equivalent or lower price point than the plastic options; I'm not particularly experienced when it comes to automotive mechanics but, uninitiated intuition points me toward the reasoning of "metal is more expensive than plastic so there must have been corners cut in order to undercut a plastic part with its metal alternative."
I'm currently looking at this water outlet housing and this thermostat housing assembly since not only are they from the same company (if I have to contact them with an issue I should only need one point of contact) but also, if I'm going to be getting elbow-deep in my engine compartment I figure I may as well go full-send but, before I do, I'd love some feedback from the community as I take this first leap into upgrading my Cruze.
Thanks!
I'm also going to replace the reservoir with the upgraded Dorman option; nothing but rave reviews about the reinforced attachment points.

Hi Reddit this sweet girl will be euthanized after May 20 she needs urgently a long term foster Socal foster for 3-4 months to save her life and a rescue! She is located at Downey Animal Care Center in Downey, California. I also included her behavioural notes in the pictures. "Minnie A5617829 2yr Spayed tan/blk German Shepherd 70 Ibs. Stray 04/06/24 MINNIE Minnie initially displayed fear and tension but exited the kennel smoothly. While walking, she remained calm. In the catch pen, she was hesitant and hid behind the runner. Minnie interacted appropriately with other dogs but later became the target of aggression from one dog, showing a defensive demeanor afterward. She has a low energy level and currently lacks a specific playstyle. Minnie, while initially displaying fear and tension, exhibits a calm demeanor when moved away from other dogs for assessment. She allows petting across her body despite slight discomfort and shows no concerning behavior. After the assessment, she remains near the handler and allows petting on her head and face. She is suitable for adoption to a patient and understanding home willing to help her build confidence and trust. Always get the notes and recommendations from the shelter to see if this pet matches your lifestyle. Check the website for updated status ... put the ID in search at I Info at https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/. Downey Animal Care Center 11258 Garfield Avenue Downey, CA 90242 Phone: (562) 940-6898 DACCDowneyRescue@animalcare.lacounty.gov" notes and picture from dogsdowney inn Instagram If you are able to foster in SoCal for 3-4 months please right now email isabeldesiree8@gmail.com and Direct message Californiashelterpets on Reddit and Instagram . Thank you
