I believe I was. I’ve told friends about my life and I’ve talked to my parents about their treatment, but I keep getting told other people have it worse or I didn’t have it that bad. I wonder if I’m just being dramatic.
Some non-chronological events:
I would ride along with my mom searching for my dad when he would go on drug binges. I watched my dad hit my grandma over and over after he had to turn the car around because he forgot his wallet at home. She started "talking too much". After he beat her, she laid across the backseat in silence. I was silent too. I wished for superpowers so that when he hit her, I would be the one to feel her pain instead. I screamed at the crackhead women my dad invited into the house after he was gone on a drug binge. She threatened to throw me out of the window. My dad stayed silent. My dad invited that same women into the house a few months later, because she apologized to him. My dad used to give me frequent back scratches. He would trail his hand down my back and rub the area just above my butt. My dad was inebriated and knocking on each of our bedroom doors. My mom texted me to not open my bedroom door for him but I needed to pee. By the time I came back, he had a blanket on the ground and was asleep. My stomach sunk. I slept under the bed. My mom dragged her fingernails across my face and asked what I was going to do about it and if I was going to fight back. My dad called me a waste of brain cells because he went down the wrong way in a one way street going to a fair. He turned around and drove home. I locked myself in my room and sobbed and texted my mom that I didn't want to live anymore. I woke up in the hospital after my suicide attempt to my dad in the room. The first thing he said to me was that I must really care what people think about me. In a drafted suicide note, I addressed each person in my life except my mom. My mom found it in my room and photocopied it. She wrote notes on the side and was upset that I didn't write to her. My dad threatened to give me and my sibling up to adopt some children who would actually spend time with him. My dad badmouthed me to a date when I was in the backseat of his car. I filled out a sheet in elementary school for fun with my friends. It was for something like a summer camp. My mom chased me throughout the house and snatched it. She asked if I was trying to send myself away. My dad told me to not tell authorities about him because I'd get taken away. My mom told me I needed to go home. I cried on the way home because I thought she was going to kill herself after she stopped responding to my texts. She left scavenger hunt instructions for the key to her bedroom. Inside her bedroom were letters to each of us detailing that she was leaving my dad. I didn't see her again for months.

I see a lot of posts lately of players asking other players what end game content there is in this game and I have to agree there is a pretty significant drought. For context I am level 217 and have only really been playing for two months now but have cleared all main and side quests.
Some suggestions:
-Add more nuke and/or end game bosses. I saw a post suggesting adding a unique nuke boss per biome, I really like this idea. (I love that you are adding a new fight in SkyLine). -Add more interesting and unique mechanics. I really like the fear CC, more things in line with this. -Add more into Cryptids. Add more with other diverse mechanics. Add more challenging and harder variations that people can attempt to hunt down and defeat. -Incorporate flux into more CAMP and Apparel recipes. -Maybe figure out away to create a hard mode for current bosses/events. Kinda like what ZOS did with it’s bosses in ESO. Even it’s just a passive stat buffs. Tie rare plans, items, etc to the rewards for this. Make it clear how to do this or make it something you need to know how to do (like what they did with Project Paradise.)That way new players don’t inadvertently do it. -Fix the photo mode and punching mine glitches for skipping the Silo. Randomize the instance so that it’s a more diverse experience (so that it’s not alway the same), diversify the enemies you encounter and increase their difficulty.

Hello there! I've still not entirely recovered after finishing Rebirth, that ending was just whoa. I believe I've watched/read most of the theories out there regarding the game's finale and Aerith's fate, but none of them managed to explain everything sufficiently. I admit I'm in the "I hope Aerith lives" camp, but I understand the corner the developers wrote themselves into: Aerith fans and the japanese fanbase at large will riot if she dies for good, and purists will riot if one of the games' central themes (coping with loss, grieving) is broken. A textbook case of trying to have your cake and eat it too. Unless they find a way to do both?
Trying to get my mind off FF7, I replayed Zero Escape: Virtue's Last reward (seriously try it if you were more impressed than annoyed by FF7R's multiverse shenanigans, it's the real good stuff), and one of the puzzles caused a bit of a eureka moment to me. A secondary solution to a puzzle in one of the rooms is the sentence "SHE KNOWS EVERYTHING". It obviously hints at a character in the game and not FF7, but with the implications of the two games thus far in the remake continuity (plus AC), one character in Zero Escape bears a striking resemblance to Aerith: Akane Kurashiki (Big spoiler for the first game in ZE: 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors).
Both are capable of jumping between their selves in different timelines and have awareness of it. Akane is trying to prevent her own death by gathering information she needs to escape death via incineration, from other timelines and in the future. Would Aerith resign to her own fate even in command of such a power? Pre-chapter 13 it's heavily implied she wouldn't, why would discovering that she's basically omniscient change this?
Unless she has a plan cooking. She's being relentlessly hunted by someone who also has multiversal knowledge and could overpower and kill her any day of the week. She needs to throw Sephiroth off her trail somehow. If you played Persona 5, the situation might be familiar to you... (spoilers for Persona 5 follow)
In that game, the protagonist Joker and his fellow phantom thieves are being cornered by the detective Akechi, who at that point is a traitor amongst them. How do they get out of the situation? By failing an infiltration, Joker getting caught, the tricking Akechi into a cognitive version of the interrogation room he's being held in and letting him kill Joker there. Akechi is in the belief that he killed Joker in the real world.
This got me thinking: what if Aerith pulled a similar trick? Her situation is a bit more complicated, in that she knows Cloud is under Sephiroth's control, so she has to fool the party as well to fool Sephiroth. Her mournfulness in the Ch14 date could come from her impending doom - or the guilty conscience from what she has to put the party and especially Cloud through and that she may doom one of her alternate timeline selves to death.
As for the how, there are multiple possibilities, but the one I find most likely is that she swapped her consciousness with the comatose Aerith from Zack's world. As for when it happened, I believe it was at the moment when everyone was distracted by the smoke and mirrors - the moment Cloud deflected Sephiroth's blade. Whether this happened for real and created a timeline shift, one where Aerith lived and one where she was impaled, or just in Cloud's mind, it doesn't matter. It's the ultimate red herring. Cloud can have a revelation at some point in the 3rd game that she failed to save Aerith, he still won't know that the body Sephiroth stabbed didn't have Beagle!Aerith's soul in it, but Terrier!Aerith's comatose and possibly damaged soul. Such a last-second switch of a would-be-victim isn't the first time Square pulled this. It's what happened in Chrono trigger too! Remember what Marlene said about Terrier!Aerith to Zack? "When Aerith wakes up, she will be killed." Why does she wake up? Because she switched places with Beagle!Aerith!! Terrier!Aerith's body now contains Beagle!Aerith's soul, the one that prayed at the Forgotten Capital, the one that's whole, healthy and undamaged. Marlene was right, although the "multiple versions of Aerith" thing went over her head, understandably.
And if Cloud split the timeline again by deflecting Masamune, and can see both timelines? All the better. Where is the real black materia? Hidden in the void between worlds. Where Cloud's mind is right now. That may be why he finds the black materia in his pocket. That will draw Sephiroth's attention, lure him towards his OG plan of summoning Meteor, a threat Aerith can deal with once the party defeats Sephiroth at the northern crater.
As for who fights beside Cloud in Rebirth's final boss battle? I believe it's omni!Aerith, the one who gave premonitions of the future to her self in Remake, the one who visited Cloud in his dream in Remake chapter 14.
Why do I think this explanation could predict what happens in Part 3? Because this way, the writers can keep their cake until the very last minute, then eat it. The party and the player can go through coping with Aerith's "death", then have her return at the very last minute to appease those who yearn for her survival, at the climax of the game, when Sephiroth is weakened, on his last phase and Meteor needs to be stopped. This way, she can be kept out of the plot for the most part, and her presence, both story- and gameplaywise can be a postgame reward. Not to mention the mindblowing revelation of her complex plot at the end.
Anyway, that's just my theory, I needed to write it out of me. 2027(?) can't come soon enough.

Passed D206 with no revisions. It took about a week. I read the rubric and literally took about 2 days to wrap my mind around how tedious it seemed to be before I got started on any work. I saw something a while ago where someone said they wished they had just chosen the Churn data set from the beginning and stuck with it. That made me think that the Churn data set was the only consistent data set throughout the program. So I chose the Churn data set for D205 but then I saw instructions in this course to choose the opposite of what you chose in D205. Looking back, I think that was likely a suggestion and not a mandate. Regardless, I chose the medical data set and would like to stick with this one for the remainder of the program because I have medical background anyway.
I was looking forward to this course because every training I've ever taken on data analysis has stated how crucial data cleaning is and then spends very little time actually showing how to clean the data. So I learned a decent amount from this course that I had never been exposed to before. Even simple things like learning that there is a "category" datatype in pandas. I've used pandas very regularly for the last 2 years and never knew this! I didn't know about any advanced imputation methods or various means of assessing how to handle missing data. I had never heard of PCA before. But my goodness am I glad it's over because I really hated the format of the PA.
Resources used:

• I had some prior knowledge especially with using libraries like pandas and matplotlib
• The D206 course guide was very helpful in providing more detailed information about how to tackle the PA according to the rubric and where to find information for specific portions of the assignment. This was helpful in finding credible sources to use for blocks of code or content citation.
• Data Camp videos. I found the videos to be useful. I like the idea behind having the coding practice immediately following videos - this is similar to CodeAcademy which I've used extensively in the past, EXCEPT I don't like the way the coding practice is set up in Data Camp. I don't like that they give you half the code and then leave _ _ _ _ for you to fill in even though the code you fill in is much longer than that. I would rather them just give me a completely blank screen than to fill in blanks of the wrong length for their code. After the first few practice areas, I just started skipping the coding practice. I would watch a video and make any relevant notes to come back to that portion if I needed for XYZ portion of the PA. Or I would complete that portion of the PA right then.
• I read some of the textbook linked - mostly the section involving code related to PCA.
• Other Reddit posts about this course.

The PA wasn't really hard. I just really didn't like the fact that I had to talk about how I was going to assess the data quality, then later justify why I was going to go that route, then explain why I was choosing Python. Then assess the data quality but not actually do any cleaning, then talk about the issues I found, then justify why I was going to take action regarding the cleaning, then say what was going to happen when I cleaned the data, then actually clean the data... etc.. etc.. It's so counter to the way I solve problems and very inefficient. I guess I can understand why it's set up that way but I really spent more time being annoyed about breaking everything out in a non-intuitive way than anything else. I also went down some pretty useless rabbit holes regarding how to handle certain variables based on domain knowledge. I knew at the time that they were useless rabbit holes but sometimes the self-diagnosed ADHD in me really enjoys going that route anyway. Thankfully the PA was accepted on the first attempt with no revisions. I took a couple days off and started on D207. Just submitted it today so maybe I'll have another review soon.

Doing another reread of Blood Meridian, and just finished the section of David Brown’s arrest through the Yuma Massacre of the gang. I feel like this obviously is a very pivotal moment in the gang’s history as it lead to their destruction, but also has an air of mystery surrounding some of the events in this time frame that fascinates me. I’d like show a few points that come to mind and some questions to fellow readers.
Glanton’s Apathy: “Glanton supervised with some interest the raising of the walls about him but otherwise left his men to pursue the business at the crossing with a terrible latitude. He seemed to take little account of the wealth they were amassing although daily he’d open the brass lock with which the wood and leather trunk in his quarters was secured and raise the lid and empty whole sacks of valuables into it.” After establishing themselves taking over the ferry and robbing those who came to use it, I get the feeling Glanton just falls into a state of complete apathy. He seemed to have no interest in how his men ran the ferry or even how much money they were making with this new racket. After spending basically the whole novel up to this point going from one place to another to kill people or stay a step ahead of harm’s way, at the ferry he is simply existing. What is the reason behind this sudden loss of all motivation?
Rescue of David Brown: So Davy lights an officer on fire and gets thrown in jail. After Toadvine and Webster tells Glanton, he immediately rounds up 5 nameless gang members and sets off towards San Diego to rescue him. Two questions I’ve pondered on this event: Would Glanton have launched a rescue if it was anyone else in the gang? And, why did he not take any of his veterans with him? This question leads into the next topic, but I find it strange that he leaves behind the judge and basically all the named gang members who we know have been riding with him a while to rob harmless travelers while he goes on what could be a dangerous rescue mission.
Glanton Abandoned: After finding out that David Brown escaped jail, Glanton and his men spend two days getting blackout drunk and getting into a fight with soldiers. Then comes the line: “Glanton returned to Yuma alone, his men gone to the gold fields.” This casual reference to Glanton’s five men just leaving him in San Diego and hunting for gold went unnoticed to me on my first reading, but stuck out to me this time. At several points in the novel there’s mentions of Glanton or someone else in the gang inquiring about a missing gang member, and then we literally just had Glanton traveling to rescue another to not leave him behind, but then here all of a sudden we have a handful of his gang members just leaving for good and there’s no reaction by him or further action taken. Did the men tell him about their plan? Did he give his blessing? Or did they sneak off while he was drunk? I can’t imagine say Webster or Henderson Smith taking off like this, so again makes me wonder why Glanton picked who he did to go on his rescue mission, and not any of his more trusted fighters.
The judge in charge: During Glanton’s estimated two week absence, the judge had been appointed to be in charge of the ferry operations. Upon Glanton’s return, there are a few examples that immediately point towards things being off… The first thing he sees is “a young Mexican girl was crouched naked under the shade of the wall. She watched him ride past, covering her breasts with her hands. She wore a rawhide collar about her neck and she was chained to a post.” Next he rides into the compound, and finds it empty, no one is around. Riding down to look at the river, “the doctor came scrambling down the bank and seized Glanton by the foot and began to plead with him in a senseless jabber. He’d not seen to his person in weeks and he was filthy and disheveled and he tugged at Glanton’s trouserleg and pointed toward the fortifications on the hill. That man, he said. That man.” The judge is on the rise of the hill, naked except for a loose robe, with his new acolyte Black Jackson standing beside him in a similar garb. Later we have the passage: “By evening the drunkenness and revelry had begun afresh and the *shrieks of young girls** carried across the water to the pilgrims huddled in their camp*.”
So obviously some weird stuff has gone down in the last couple weeks. Young girls are chained outside on posts, the judge and at least one other gang member is strutting around basically naked except for a loose cloth, and it seems like it’s become a regular occurrence that the night it filled with the screams of young girls. The judge’s short rule over the ferry has made the doctor go mad with fright, and it seems his influence of turning some of the other men to his level of debauchery has taken root. (I don’t believe all of the men would partake in his ways, I think one of the reasons for the Tobin and kid to be so wary and antagonistic towards the judge at the well after the attack was because they saw what a monster he had become).
There’s a lot to unpack with what is going on in just a couple pages. To me it seems the judge has turned the ferry into his personal underage carnival of pleasure and sadism. His actions caused the doctor to run to Glanton of all people to try and help, even though the doctor is well aware of what type of man Glanton is. The lesser of two evils? Perhaps the doctor picked up that Glanton had been the only man who was able to keep the judge in check, and as soon as he was gone the judge was now off leash and immediately took the situation to an extreme. Unfortunately for the doctor and the young girls at the men’s mercy, Glanton’s apathy continues and he just goes to his quarters to get drunk.
Glanton’s Death - Coincidence, or Planned? - After my last reading of this section with Glanton being split to the thrapple, I had the thought “damn he got unlucky.” Like he was gone for two weeks or more, shows back up to camp, and then the Yumas attack and wipe out everyone. However, after that thought on the bad luck of his timing I got to thinking of the judge’s later conversation with the kid where he says that he told the jailers that the kid worked with the Yumas to plan the attack. Could someone have tipped the Yumas off to Glanton’s return as the right opportunity to attack? If it was all a coincidence, it’s something to think about that their revenge would have been a missed chance if they had attacked a couple days earlier when Glanton was still in San Diego. However, I don’t think or know why the kid would be the one to make this scheme. The only gang member really who I think could have done it and had a reason to do it is the judge. Maybe after getting a taste of power he didn’t want Glanton to ruin his fun, or maybe he felt his time with the gang had runs it’s course and he wanted to wipe them out as a sort of clean slate. Or maybe he just thought it would be funny, like what he did to Reverend Green in his introduction. What are your thoughts on the timing of the Yuma attack and the death of Glanton?
For some reason I just really love this short section in the novel, there’s a lot to think about and so few details that it leaves a lot open to the imagination.

What’s a good way to farm or find stimpaks? I’m a new player and my go to has been seeking out other player camps where they usually have some for sale at like 5-10 caps each. That’s not always the case though, and I don’t want to keep on relying on buying more. (I do have the perk to find more stimpaks in boxes)

I am on the hunt for some feedback and input on the subject of recruiting or finding a sales ops roles in the UK/London to understand if I have missed a trick.
Previously when I have been hiring sales ops people I have always struggled to get good candidate CVs. They either tend to be to technical (salesforce admins) or to sales led (ex-frustrated sales people!) when I am looking for good all rounders.
What have your experiences been? Have you found some good agencies or search firms? Any tips or tricks you could share?

Typical evening jumping into SoS’ - these are some recent scenarios that have irked me.
Notice over the course of a few mins that someone’s sent an SoS up and nobody’s joined yet. I jump in. Immediately fills up because randoms see a MR500+ person has joined so they assume it’s an easy ride. Everyone else performs like dog shit, including the MR10 dude with a Fatalis hammer (not suspicious at all) - 5dps, gg, that hammer’s working wonders.
Jump into a Barioth SoS, I have a nice little blast/partbreaker build set up for him specifically. Dude’s done 3% damage to Barioth and carted twice… OK… 3rd cart happens before I even get there.
Namielle SoS - sucks for hammer and I love that her wings cover 90% of the screen but whatever, got a fire hammer build set up with water resistance for the luls and there’s at least one spot in the Coral Highlands I can go full spinnyboi. Land… Person hasn’t unlocked any additional camps, not one, Namielle’s all the way up the top right of the map. GG, guess I’m running.
Same hunt, full now, defender weapons everywhere, got one LS user who has the most obnoxious callouts. Swagaxe dude carts, call out is “GET REKT SCRUB” - I cringe and leave.
Join a coral pukei SoS - always easy, got a paralysis/sluggestamina thief build that ruins him. Person types in chat “capture pls” - I give a thumbs up. As expected the downy parrot gets proper fucked up, crawls away, goes to sleep. I stand next to sleeping beauty waiting for the inevitable capture… “I don’t have mats, can u pls” - no, fuck you.

We’ve been looking at the Exped sleeping mats for a long time because of their high R value and comfort ratings, but they always seemed too expensive to me. For the first time I’ve seen, they’re now 25% off on REI through May 27th. Usually Exped doesn’t go on sale, even when REI has site-wide sales.
I only looked at the MegaMat Max 15 Duo Sleeping Pad and the MegaMat Duo 10 Sleeping Pad, but smaller ones are on sale as well.
The 15 only comes in one size, and if you get the long-wide double version of the 10, they are the same length/width (I figure most campers are sleeping 2 if they are looking at these mats).
Here are the specs for those two sleeping mats:
Specs for 10 long wide double: 77.6 x 52 x 4 inches
Specs for 15: 77.6 x 52 x 6
The only differences are the thickness, and as a result, the weight and R value.

So, you could get either standard option for a tight but allegedly perfect fit, or the queen and fill an extra 6” on either side!
