This is just a theory, not saying it is fact, so please no hate.
Baphomet was a deity that the Knights Templers were accused of worshipping in blasphemous ceremonies in the 14th-century and were imprisoned by King Philip IV of France. Some of them that were tortured admitted to worshipping Baphomet. In 1856, Éliphas Lévi drew the first depiction of Baphomet that took the form of a semi-human-semi-goat hermaphrodite, with a caduceus where an erect phallus should be and its arms (one female and the other male) in the “As Above So Below” position. The principle of “As Above So Below” is thought to be in relation to the macrocosm (the realm of God) and the microcosm (our physical world) and how through the Tree of Life, we may learn to unite them, thus accomplishing the Great Work.
In his 1887 book ‘The Gnostics and Their Remains’, Charles King connects Baphomet to Osiris, saying: “Interesting above the rest for the part it played in medieval superstition is the Osiris, or old man, with radiated head, a terminal figure always shown in front face with arms crossed on the breast; the true Baphomet of the Templars”. Meanwhile, Éliphas Lévi equated Baphomet with the “Goat of Mendes” which was believed to be “Banebdjedet” who was the soul of Osiris. According to the article ‘The Baphomet’, Brain Pitkin says: “Lévi incorrectly identified Baphomet as the Goat of Mendes, an ancient Egyptian deity whose name should more properly be translated as: Harpocrates, the Ram of Mendes”. Harpocrates was Horus in child-form and Horus was the reborn Osiris.
THE EGYPTIAN STAFF OF OSIRIS THAT MATCHES THE IMAGE ON BAPHOMET CROTCH
In ancient Egypt the word “Ba” (the first syllable of Baphomet) refers to the Soul of Osiris. Meanwhile (also in Egypt) the ending syllable of Baphomet (as “mwt” or “met”) refers to Isis as the “Great Mother”. Meanwhile, Baphomet’s middle syllable is “pho” which could be short for “Phoenix”. The word Phoenix was adopted into Latin as “Phoenix”. Roman authors like Ovid and Pliny the Elder used it in their writings. In his 1913 book ‘The Religion of Ancient Egypt’, Archibald Henry Sayce says: “The Phoenix was allied to the hawk of Horus, and probably was originally identical with that primitive symbol of the soul”. Hence, Baphomet’s full name may be a combination of Isis, Osiris, and Horus. The Egyptian Trinity.
Ahmed Osman says: “The Trinity of Osiris, Isis and Horus, became a focal point for the emerging Christian Gnostic sects — those Christians who sought to gain spiritual knowledge through mysteries”. In his book ‘The Shining Ones’, Philip Gardiner says: “The Trinity of Isis, Osiris and Horus is linked with the Knights Templar and the figure of John the Baptist”. In his book ‘Gods Wear Spandex’, Chris Knowles says: “The Chemical Wedding referred to the work of the alchemists, who sought to marry the masculine and feminine properties of creation and produce the Royal Hermaphrodite, which some historians have linked to Harpocrates (Younger Horus)”.
In ancient Egyptian mythology — the goddess Isis revived Osiris by using her magical powers and knowledge. When Osiris was murdered and dismembered by his brother Seth, Isis collected and reassembled his body parts. She then used her incantations and the help of other deities to breathe life back into Osiris, allowing him to be resurrected. The idea that Osiris and Isis merge to form a single entity (Horus) is a common idea. For example, famous poet Robert Musil wrote ‘Isis and Osiris’ which presents a hermaphroditic theme. This theme captivated Musil and is evident throughout his diaries and prose, most notably in his seminal work ‘Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften’. In ‘Isis and Osiris’ the theme manifests as the union of two individuals into one being.
ISIS AND OSIRIS SERPENTS LIKELY REPRESENTED BY THE COILED-SERPENTS ON BAPHOMET’S CROTCH
In his book ‘The Tarot of the Egyptian Gods’, Sebastian Vazquez Jimenez makes a connection between Baphomet and Osiris, saying: “That is, the same questions that we ask ourselves regarding the Templar Baphomet. Be that as it may — this head was granted fabulous powers, and it is worth remembering the character of Osiris as a plant god, and that the “blossoming of the trees and the sprouting of the Earth” that we have seen in the declarations. The Templars allude in a mathematical way to the ability of the corpse of the god and especially his head to re-emerge and green plants, as evidence of the god and especially his head, as demonstrated by an inscription that declares: “When the plant greens, the Earth does too. You see, Osiris is rejuvenated again!” Returning again to Baphomet, the statements of the imprisoned Templars about a bearded head, I believe it pointed to a singular and essential attribute in the Egyptian gods that Osiris naturally carried”.
OSIRIS FROM THE VIDEO-GAME DESTINY 2 MAKING THE SAME HAND-SIGN AS BAPHOMET
Another intriguing point of convergence between Baphomet and Osiris is the hand gesture known as the Punda Mandra. This hand gesture carries symbolic connotations related to duality and unity. Baphomet’s gesture can be interpreted as an embodiment of the union of opposites, reconciling masculine and feminine energies within a singular entity. The Punda Mandra hand sign that Baphomet makes can be traced back to ancient Egypt. Two Finger amulets (Prana Mudra sign) were a symbol of Osiris and were placed on the body of a mummy. The Pyramid Texts give some references on the importance of the sign where it explains that “two fingers helped Osiris ascend the Ladder and reach into Heaven” (see the book ‘Amulets and Superstitions’, by Wallis Budge).
One possibility is that the male aspect of Baphomet represents Osiris and the female aspect represents Isis. Plutarch in his work ‘On Isis and Osiris’ presents Isis as wisdom (Sophia). This is relevant because when the Hebrew letters spelling Baphomet are applied to the ATBASH cipher it generates “Sophia”. In her book ‘The Hidden Faces of Eve’, Nawal Saadawi says that the myth of Osiris and Isis does not alter in essence from Adam and Eve. In Kabbalah circles, Adam was originally an androgynous being they called Adam Kadmon, consisting of male and female (half Adam and half Eve) but was fractured into opposites during The Fall. ‘Adam’ being representative of humanity as a whole — we were all fractured. In the Gnostic and Hermetic school of thought — the goal of human existence is to merge these opposites (the female and male) back into one androgynous being to form an Adam Kadmon. As Lévi said: “The two sexes will be one, according to the word of Christ — the great androgyne will be created, humanity will be woman and man”. Adam Kadmon is described as “divine light without vessels” and as a “composite of pure light” much like how Baphomet is described as being a representation of Astral Light, or “soul elevated above matter”.
TWO FINGER AMULETS OF OSIRIS AND HORUS (SAME HAND-SIGN AS BAPHOMET)
In his book ‘Magic and Theory in Practice’, 20th-century occultist Aleister Crowley equates Baphomet with “Horus come to full growth”. Crowley also equated Baphomet with Harpocrates (see the book ‘The Commentaries of AL’). Crowley claims in ‘The Book of Thoth’ that: “There is no doubt that this mysterious figure [Baphomet] is a magical image of this same idea [embodied in figures like the Fool and Harpocrates]”. For Crowley — Horus is the cosmological force that brings order to primordial Chaos, and he alone has the power to reconcile the opposing forces of the universe. To the Egyptians, Horus (also known as Harpocrates) was the son of Isis and Osiris, but some sources imply that Horus was not the son of Isis and Osiris, but rather a product of them fusing as one into a hermaphrodite alchemically like Rebis. Some suggest that Horus is merely Osiris reborn. The 19th-century occultist Helena Blavatsky said in her book ‘The Secret Doctrine’: “Osiris is interchangeable with Isis — and Horus is of both sexes”. Osiris and Isis are assumed by some researchers to be interchangeable with Adam and Eve.
The Baphomet sigil created by a French occultist in the 19th-century includes two names in Hebrew that surround the outer edges of each of the pentagrams. The front side has the name “Leviathan” with “Samael” and “Lilith” with a downward pentagram and the other side has “Christ” with “Adam” and “Eve” with an upright pentagram. In various Gnostic cosmologies, Samael’s role as a source of evil became identified with the Demiurge, the creator of the material world and Lilith in Mesopotamian religion is an evil demon that may be a demonic counterpart to Isis. In Mesopotamian myth, Lilith is essentially the alter-ego of Inanna (Isis) in the Huluppu Tree story. In Hebrew mythology — Leviathan is mentioned in the Bible, particularly in the book of Job and in Psalms. It’s described as a sea monster or a massive creature that embodies chaos and represents the forces of evil and destruction. In Jewish tradition, Leviathan is associated with the primordial sea and is seen as a symbol of God’s power and the ultimate defeat of evil. According to the Ophites, Leviathan is Ouroboros, separating the divine realm from humanity by enveloping or permeating the material world.
Saturn’s prime symbol is the Ouroboros (see the book ‘The Ending of The Words: Magical Philosophy of Aleister Crowley’) which is a serpent that encircles creation, like Leviathan encircles the world. Horus (the reborn Osiris) has a connection with Saturn. To the ancient Egyptians, Saturn was known as “Horus, the Bull of Heaven”. In his article ‘Elements of Gnostic Concepts in Depictions on Magical Gems’, Grażyna Bąkowska-Czerner says: “Harpocrates [Horus] was a very popular deity in the Greco-Roman period, and worshipped mainly in Alexandria. Numerous depictions of the god can be found around the whole Roman Empire, where he was equated with Apollo, Helios, Heracles, Eros, and sometimes also with Cronus [Saturn]”.
Saturn (or the earlier Greek incarnation of Chronos) is an arcane analog of Satan. Crowley corresponded Lévi’s Baphomet with Satan in his various works. The number 666, which is usually associated with Satan, has a close association with Saturn, which strengthens this connection. The Chaldean number system of the ancient Indian, Mazdean, and Egyptian for Saturn is 666. The Saturn Square also equates to 666 when calculated horizontally and vertically. In his books, Crowley recounted a time where he saw a statue of Horus in a museum, and attached to the top was the exhibit number 666.
In his 1884 book ‘The Popular Faith Unveiled’, Herbert Junius Hardwicke says: “Like the Egyptians, the Persians worshipped the god-light, born in the December constellation, when the virgin rose above the horizon, and glorified in the sign of the lamb at the vernal equinox; but instead of calling him Horus, they called him Mithra”. This is of relevance, because Crowley deciphered the name of Baphomet to mean “Father Mithras”. The god Quetzalcoatl has also been associated with Horus, but to make matters complicated, there are two of these same beings, one being the Quetzalcoatl “Mental” aspect (the upright pentagram) and the other being the Quetzalcoatl “Astral” aspect (the downward pentagram). Notice that there are also two versions of Baphomet, one with an upright pentagram and one with a downward pentagram. In ancient hieroglyphs, the star Sirius is associated with the upright pentagram and has links to both Isis and Osiris. Meanwhile, the downward pentagram has links to Samael and Lilith which make up Leviathan (Samael and Lilith are also associated with Osiris and Isis, but appear to be an altered demonic version of them).
As said above, there appear to be two versions of Baphomet — one with an upright pentagram on its forehead and one with a downward pentagram (such as on the 1910 Devil Tarot Card). The upright pentagram is linked to Venus and Sirius. It can be traced back to a celestial phenomenon dubbed the “Saturn Polar Confguration” which was put forward in 1980 by comparative mythologist David Talbott in which Venus was the central star and gave the appearance of a pentagram. Venus was associated with the pentagram also because when observed from Earth, Venus traces a perfect pentagram across the sky every eight years making a pattern of a rose. This is known as the “Rose of Venus” or the “Pentagram of Venus”. In his book ‘The Gnostics and Their Remains’, Charles King equates the Gnostic Sophia with Venus Anadyomene (Venus Rising from the Sea) which appears on ancient magical gem stones as a naked damsel.

Manly Hall explains that Venus and Isis were names for Lucifer, telling us: “Being visible in the sky at sunset it was called Vesper, and as it rose before the Sun, it was called the Star of the Morning or Lucifer, meaning Light Bearer. Because of this relation to the Sun, the planet was also called Venus, Astarte, Aphrodite, Isis, and The Mother of the Gods” (see his book ‘The Secret Teachings of All Ages’). Magdalene is assumed by some to be interchangable with goddesses like Sophia, Isis, and Inanna. In his book ‘Mary Magdalene The Illuminator’, popular author William Henry tells us: “Plutarch states that Isis was called Sophia. She’s also called Astarte, the goddess worshipped by Solomon. Each of these goddesses, in turn is the Babylonian goddess Inanna. Schonfield concludes that there is no doubt that the beautiful woman’s head of the Templars represents Sophia in her female and Isis aspect — and she was linked with Mary Magdalene in the Christian interpretation”. Baphomet appears to be half Isis and half Osiris. In the Pyramid Texts, Osiris and Horus are called the “Morning Star” which is believed to be Venus.
The downward pentagram is commonly associated with evil and can be seen on one side of the Sigil of Baphomet with the names “Lilith” and “Samael” surrounded by the name “Leviathan”. Confusingly — Lilith and Samael are connected to Osiris and Isis — in some respects, one could interpet them as their evil, corrupted versions. This idea is perhaps represented in the 1927 movie Metropolis, where the good-hearted character Maria (representing Mary or Isis) is transformed into a demonic robot-woman presided over by a downward pentagram. This demonic robot-woman is named "Hel" which connects her to demons like Lilith. In Jewish mystical texts, particularly the Kabbalah, Lilith is associated with demonic realms and hellish imagery.

A well meaning, middle of the road comic drama, Ezra succeeds on the strength of its cast making the most out of the material. Centered on Bobby Cannavale’s Ezra, a father juggling co-parenting his autistic son and his stand up comedy dreams, the movie mainly follows him and his son on a legally risky road trip to Los Angeles. The movie itself, though shining a light on an underserved story subject, feels a bit minor for the big screen in Director Tony Goldwyn’s capable but uninspired hands and the script feels predictably familiar. However, the cast are all excellent here and it is their interplay that makes the movie as enjoyable as it becomes. Bobby Cannavale is great in a deserving lead role, deftly balancing the comic and dramatic tones, and his co-stars Robert DeNiro and Rose Byrne bring gravitas and exceptional comic timing to match. The ensemble really elevate the material, and it is their efforts that make Ezra worth checking out.

On John Cabot's ship, there was an unnamed Burgundian who accompanied him to the New World. I believe that in the show's origin story, this man will be portrayed by Philippe de Commines - famous memoirist.

In any case, you know the part in the horror movie where the main characters go and do research and track down someone who has survived whatever is haunting them in the past, and figure out what it is and how to beat it?
Philippe de Commines's diary of the events in Newfoundland would be the perfect way for the showrunners to narrate the origin story (because it will need a narrator - the history is too complex).
It is my belief that Tabitha and Eloise (who I think is her mom), will, through the symbol that Jade sees, and perhaps dreams, will seek out the diary in Europe - searching through the archives of the famous writers.
The diary would need to return to England on William Weston's 1499 expedition (this is how all the historical figures are returned - so they can resume their places in history - they are only gone from May 1498 to Easter 1499). It is my belief that on the show, this diary inspired the tales of various authors through history, and it was passed between them like the sisterhood of the traveling pants
It is first collected by the lawyer, author and poet Thomas More (1478-1535).
The word “more” is used 128 times on the show, often inserted awkwardly in dialogue and emphasized in key scenes. More wrote a book called Utopia about a mysterious island in North America.
John Dee (1527-1608) would be next, famous for his enormous library of occult books. Some thought he wrote the Voynich manuscript, full of symbols associated with the show.
Dee’s interests in history, philosophy, alchemy, and the supernatural align with the story also – he was considered an occultist and had occult books, mirrors and amulets.
The next obvious writer is Shakespeare (1564-1616) , with plays like The Tempest, Richard III, Romeo & Juliet, Hamlet - whose stories mimic the events of the origin story in my opinion but are too complex to lay out here. The words “shake" and "spear” are also inserted into the show, often awkwardly.

Interestingly, Shakespeare helped write a play about Thomas More. Did Shakespeare find the diary that way? Or was there another writer between them?
Next it goes to John Milton (1608-1674) who wrote Paradise Lost

to Horace Walpole (1717-1797) who wrote the Castle of Otranto - Story of a lost noble heir, princess, a man crushed by a giant helmet, a man accused witchcraft, friars.

Then on to William Wordsworth (1770-1850) (whose daffodils match the music box and Sarah's apron) to Victor Hugo.
The most important author of all is Victor Hugo (1802-1885).
The barber Oliver le Daim is mentioned in the Hunchback of Notre-Dame.
Pierre Gringoire is a character in the novel, as is Philippe de Commynes.
Hunchbacked Triboulet was the main character of another novel he wrote, and also the inspiration for Quasimodo the bell ringer – and there’s a hell of a lot of bell ringing on the show.

There are so many similarities on the show, that I think we'll even see the Witch character (who I think is Bridget of York) with an emerald, that is stored in the music jewelery box we now see on the show.

Finally, I think it may end up with Lewis Carroll (1832-1898), who wrote Through the Looking Glass and Alice in Wonderland, with its world of kings and queens, sentient cards and chess pieces, teacups, potions, clocks, mirrors and much more.
The final location of the diary is most likely at Oxford University if not in Hugo’s documents. If it ends up with Carroll it could be in Christ Church Library:
