I’ve decided after 18 months of working with someone that it’s time to exit them from the business website as an affiliate. They rent space in an office next to mine and I’ll continue to see them on a regular basis. Me doing this will make her life much more challenging. Is it best to go into great detail as to why I’m parting ways or keep it vague as to not make things really awkward in the day to day? Giving her 30 days notice per our agreement..

I am based in the UK, and recently set up an online community platform (a bit like a niche Facebook) for people with a particular set of health conditions which are often overlooked. The community has many UK members, but you can join from anywhere in the world. It's doing quite well and I would like to expand it. Joining is free, but I have significant costs in running it (about £150pm for the tech) and I expect if I want to expand the offering I will need more money.
I was looking into ways to raise donations, but assume I'll have to register as a charity or an unregistered charity or a CIC etc to do so? I'm not sure of the distinctions between each. Or maybe I should just be a company? I'm not even sure yet whether the goal is to be a non-profit or more of a social impact enterprise. At the moment, I'm the only person working on it, but I'd like the option to bring in volunteers or even employees in future.
I'm not yet sure this is the route I want to go down as it may prevent me from doing certain things (or will it? ie brand sponsorships). I'm not even sure re the advantages of doing this or if it's yet even necessary? I can write a constitution and try to establish an advisory board even without being an official charity, I think, so I'm just a bit lost as there's no formal structure for this initiative that I run. I would like to start collecting donations and bringing in volunteers, etc, but worried that given I'm just an individual running this project then it's not likely to work.
I'm also not sure how I'd square being a charity with things like paid sponsorships etc going forward, if I choose to do so. I also like the idea of one day being able to do this full-time and pay myself a reasonable salary, etc.
Any advice? Essentially, I would like a way to formalise my initiative and for a way to receive donations that feels legit ie being able to say "your donation will go directly into [name of organisation's] bank account". Thanks so much for any advice.

He worked for decades directly with Eli Goldratt, the Einstein of the business world. Eli Schragenheim is a well known international management educator and consultant active in various fields of management like corporate strategy, supply chain, project management, shop-floor control, IT and HR. He worked with huge variety of organizations all over the world, including public-sector organizations, industrial, high-tech and start-ups. Eli has taught, spoke at conferences and consulted all over the globe, including the US, Canada, Britain, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Israel, Germany, Italy, Belgium, South Africa, Australia, India, China and Japan.
• I have a zoom meeting with Ayaan Hirsi Ali! I became a founding member of her new platform Restoration, which promised this meeting. I'll be asking her to be the expert representing the apostasy issue. And I'm doing more than that. Please help me make the best of our upcoming meeting. I chose this date and time because its the 50th Anniversary of Richard Feynman's 1974 Caltech commencement speech titled 'Cargo Cult Science'. Feynman dedicated his speech to one thing, the biggest obstacle to progress worldwide. He coined the term Cargo Cult Science to refer to the pseudo-scientific methods people use, i.e. cult behaviors. Even physicists.
Our livestream will be a continuation of Feynman's speech. He explained the least of the harmful cult behaviors. We will explain the worst ones. Nations with apostasy laws. Nations treating whistleblowers as traitors. Nations and corporations creating fake science and other propaganda. Nations instituting compulsory education systems designed to make people smart enough to be economically productive but not smart enough to properly question the political status quo. Parents using the 'united front' concept and so many other things in the same vein. They're trying to discourage disobedience by sabotaging truth-seeking. They don't want us to talk, and that is what we must do!

1. STOP trying to figure out why they cheated on you
Removing your energy and your thoughts away from them does several beneficial things for you. For one, it gives you power back. It saves your personal energy and heart space from further pain such as more feelings of unworthiness and depression.
2. STOP communicating with them
Block them in every way possible, if you are able to (unless you have kids or shared property). It makes them question why you seem to not care, why you are not questioning them up and down, why you are not begging for answers. This confuses them and makes them want to reach out to you, they try to reach out to get your attention and then bam, they can't! They either start looking at themselves with guilt and wanting to make it up to you or they don't care. If they don't care then it was never meant to be and you're better off without them. Stopping communication with them gives you so much of your energy back and places you in a power position. They will then see how you are to be respected and how they screwed up.
3. STOP looking at their social media
Block them on here as well, block them in every way possible. Remove both your social medias and their social medias followings from each other and block them. Do not spend time looking at them to see what they are doing. Do not spend any more of your precious time seeing, talking or even thinking about them! They do not deserve it.
When you unexpectedly and completely remove yourself from their lives, they will be clueless as to why. It gives you so much power back, you will become so sexy and they will try their hardest to win you back. Because you are better than that, do not take them back. This is what gives you the most power over them is when you don't give them attention, you don't give into their insecurities and their bs. Doing this will give you space to look inside of yourself to find and heal the deeper reasons why the cheating hurt you so much. It will guide you to more of what is best for you and what you really want. Then you can find a real strong partner with strong values that won't cheat on you!

I'm looking for some like-minded folks who prefer to play co-op modes over competitive modes. It seems to be very difficult to find if you don't have an established group to play with.
I like most co-ops, but tends to gravitate towards titles that require more teamwork than just "we're in the same lobby" kind of thing. Co-op campaigns are also great. I'm on pc exclusively.
Some examples: Borderlands, Remnant: from the ashes, Left 4 dead 2 (higher difficulties), Halo co-op, Monster Hunter Rise.
I play/own other games besides this, but if you're into any of these or similar games, I'll likely enjoy playing that game as well.
About my personality: I see myself as a calm, laid back kind of person. I'm an introvert and I prefer smaller groups or 1on1 conversations over larger communities, but I'd like to think I'm quite social still. What can make me uncomfortable sometimes is the pressure to respond quickly. I've noticed that some will ghost me if I don't respond within a few hours or maybe a day. So, if you can live with the fact that I might not respond some days, then we'll get along quite well.

Hi everyone!
I (24F) wanted to share my now fiancé James’ (24M) experience that he had with James Allen Rings as a Canadian. I asked him about my ring and he told me what happened, and I’m still in shock. I will protect the identities of those involved, so I will be using different names. I apologize if this post is long, but these details all connect. For context, James and I have been together for 3 1/2 years now. About a year ago, I got targeted with ads from James Allen Rings. While I was going through my reels, I saw one of the ads and on the front, there was a ring that I thought was gorgeous (the first image on Imgur is the ring I saw/he ordered). I sent this ad to James and told him that I thought this ring was pretty, he asked me what diamond shapes I liked and I told him “marquise or pear”.
Fast forward to late December 2023, he ordered that ring from James Allen Rings with the marquise diamond and he created a plan to propose to me in Portugal (we’re both Portuguese and it would be my first time seeing Portugal) and the trip was planned for us to depart Canada on April 3rd - this date comes into play later. The ring processed fine and got shipped, it got up to Canadian customs and they declined it at the border in the mid-late January 2024. Now, you would think they’d just send the ring back to the border again but James Allen Rings has a policy that they cannot send the same ring back to you after it’s been shipped because they cannot guarantee anything. Instead, they sell the ring to their vendors to re-sell (and they have about 100 of them in the US). He contacted Support about this later that day, which his order advisor Leonard told him “This happens sometimes, let’s do the ring purchase again and go from there”. Leonard refunded him and helped him repurchase the ring.
This excuse and process started to repeat to the point that James was on his FOURTH ring purchase in the beginning of March. That ring again did not make it across the border and he was alerted on March 15th. We were departing for the trip on April 3rd, so he was 2 1/2 weeks out from the trip at that point. He immediately contacted Support again that day, desperate to see what can be done, as Leonard told him initially that it had to be shipped to his home to get James’ signature. James connected with a new advisor Matthew, which let him know that Leonard was let go. James explained the whole situation to Matthew, which he told him two things: one, he could not source a marquise diamond for the ring. James told him that I love pear diamonds too, which worked out either way. Two, they could not build the setting in a short time span. They can only build something simple in order to guarantee delivery by April 1st (the second image on Imgur is the simple ring). James, being told it would be a guaranteed delivery date, said “Okay, but this is not what she wanted. Can we fix it later?” and Matthew told him that they’d fix it for free due to the inconvenience. Matthew refunded the previous ring and did the repurchase of the simple ring.
However, one week later on March 25th, Matthew contacted James to tell him that the ring is taking longer than expected and the new delivery date has pushed to April 5th. James told Matthew to cancel the ring purchase, as this whole situation is ridiculous and he has time sensitive plans. James then scrambled to our nearest mall with his mind set to finding something similar. He went between Michael Hill, Peoples Jewellers and other small jewellery places in the mall and none of the rings he found looked like the one from James Allen Rings.
He then settled to just find a ring with the pearl shape and he went back to Peoples. The sales lady at Peoples Jeweller Melissa asked James if he was okay and he explained the whole situation, at the brink of tears feeling like he failed me (that’s the worst thing I could’ve ever heard from him). Melissa widened her eyes at the situation and let James know that Peoples Jeweller owns James Allen Rings and that she may be able to get a custom ring and to give her a moment. She contacted a vendor and he told her that he has a previous ring that is close in style and that he can modify it to look the same, and he would be able to deliver it by April 2nd if she can source the main diamond. James chose a pear diamond that was available at their location and they kickstarted the process of the ring that night. He launched a formal complaint through Peoples Jewellers to James Allen over the ordeal. She kept her word: the ring was ready in the evening of April 2nd, one day before we were departing to Portugal and I obviously said yes (image of my engagement ring is the third image)!
Word of advice for any Canadians looking to propose to their significant other and wants to purchase a ring from James Allen: please go to Peoples Jewellers and do a custom ring with their design, it is not worth the headache and stress.

I know that I’ve been posting on and off for a few years now with little to no luck. Before you tell me I’m too picky… I don’t think I am. We all have different tastes and expectations from the other people and there is nothing wrong with that. And I did try numerous dating sites but it was just… sewage. Not saying men are garbage or anything but these places are just full of horrible people and scammers. I have heard my fair share of horror stories from men about women too.

This is not to gain any sympathy nor a cry for help, this is more of a pre warning. A lot of people would get their hopes up about me and once things didn’t go as they wanted them to go, would then drop me like a sack of spuds. Please do not think of me any differently, i am still a capable person.
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the very young age, as well as severe anxiety (by an actual professional, none of that self diagnosis stuff). I do take medication for it but some days are worse than the others and so on. I’ve been on a waiting list now for ages and each time I enquiry about counselling I’m being turned down due to the high demand. I cannot afford to go privately and I am 2 years away from seeing someone, as we speak.
I also suffer from fibromyalgia (don’t ask me ‘wtf is this; just google it) in late 2019 after having all possible tests done to rule out any other problems. I have days when I’m extremely exhausted and in excruciating pain. I still go to work and still try to be function normally as much as possible. I’ve been prescribed all sorts of meds to deal with any pain but just like with the antidepressants, they don’t always work.

An extreme introvert since I was a young one (definitely not shy, in fact I can get a bit volatile when it comes to standing up for myself). I don’t need to get out of my shell, so none of that please. I like my own company as well as my loved ones; and leaving the house only for work and groceries suits me well.
I’m a vegetarian (not a deal breaker if you’re not; your choice is to eat meat and mine isn’t. Respect it and you shall receive the same back). I think it’s time for everyone live and let others live too.
Tea, coffee and snack addict! (I love herbal tea with no sugar or milk; coffee wise I like a good cap or a caramel macchiato as a treat. Snack wise anything goes really. Fruit, crisps, cake and sweets!)
Bookworm (I haven’t read in a long time, I love books I promise. Just haven’t had much time lately. I have a stack of them which is growing. I need to finally find some time and immerse myself in one of many crime novels I have).

Animal lover (I have 4 rescued cats two boys and two girls aged between 10-11 who are my absolute life. In total, my mum and I have rescued about 60 cats in the last 10 years. We found them safe and loving homes but for some of them unfortunately it was too late).
No addictions here (I don’t drink or smoke; although I like my vapes a lot).
In my spare time (whatever I get of it) I like to go for walks, listen to music and podcasts, nap, watch tv, chill with my mum and cats, go shopping and grab a coffee with my ma, visit my brother in London, over eat, over think and read books.
I don’t really have any hobbies.
I don’t game religiously but I do enjoy sims 4 (someone told me that isn’t gaming although I’d say it’s a computer game so clues in the name but what do I know, right?) I don’t watch anime either, tried once and couldn’t get into it.
As you can tell, I’m just a relatively unremarkable human being, trying to find her place in this world. And I’m happy about that, being in the limelight is the last thing I know.

YOU are worthy of being celebrated. YOU are doing one of the most important and thankless jobs in the world. The number of posts I saw last year of Moms who were miserable on Mother’s Day was heartbreaking.
That being said, if you are waiting for your partner to honor you on this day – stop. Especially if this person has never been a thoughtful person. Never been a “good “gift giver. Never acknowledged your contributions to home and family. Never celebrated you on any other Mother’s Day (so you’re hoping they might this year). Always leaves the mental load of present buying/gift giving on you so they assumed you would “get something for yourself.” Has the mentality “but you are not MY mother.“
These people are not going to give you what you deserve on this special day; your partner may very well have the best of intentions and still fall short of your wishes/expectations. So be an example for your kids and get what you deserve, yourself. Put your partner on notice now. Book the spa day, the brunch, the day of rest or day of adventure. Make sure you are celebrating yourself on this day instead of hinging your joy on someone who you know will not give you the experience you are hoping for.
Do not allow the measure of your impact to be minimized by someone else’s thoughtlessness.

How's y'all's luck been? I've been a driver for years and have been able to make a living doing this work...all of a sudden a month ago I had three orders at once that Uber gave me for the first time ever, my guy told me don't do it, but I said fuck it...welp was at a Chinese restaurant where they didn't speak English I asked if this was the correct order for(insert name) they said yes. I took the order they didn't stop me or complain. I'm 90% there on the delivery and they call me saying I need to bring the order back and it's the wrong one then Uber calls me and tells me the same thing I tell them I will bring it back after I make the first delivery since I'm a block away from the house. They canceled the order before I could bring it back to the restaurant...I called support to make sure that this wouldn't effect me and ever since I haven't been getting ANYTHING. I don't even make thirty dollars a day now and this is my only income due to medical disorders right now. I'm shocked after never having a complaint and plugging away for three years and earning really well.
Now im only getting orders that are 2.55 for 4 miles. 11.00 for 22 miles. Absolute garbage orders that should be illegal to even offer. That nobody would accept in their right mind. Is there any way to fix this nonsense I can't survive like this...

i'm incapable of being s*xually active in moderation. either I do it to the point of self harm or I engage in zero sexual activity. there is no middle ground for me. I'm simply too mentally ill to have a normal sexuality and I couldn't accept that. it was too painful to accept.
I did 7 months of abstinence before. at that point, I felt inadequate, abnormal and devalued in my masculinity for abstaining from sexuality. I felt like abstinence took away part of my humanity, reproductive capabilities and made me less functional, and disempowered. i slipped back into hardcore addiction after one single s*xual activity.
I thought abstinence had made me wiser and that I would be able to transform my maladaptive s*xual behaviors into normal sexuality through my will-power. I was wrong. instead, i learned that i'm chronically drawn to self-loathing and that I will abuse s*xuality as self-punishment sooner or later, no matter my intentions.
the fact that I can't have a normal sexuality due to childhood trauma is a great injustice. I thought that I could make up for that injustice by pretending that everything was okay and thereby becoming capable of sexual normality. but I learned that I'm doing a greater injustice to myself by trying to fix something that can't be fixed. trying to engage with my s*xuality in any way results in more pain and disempowerment, as all of my s*xual desires are expressions of eroticized childhood trauma.
going from one hellish s*xual experience to another over the past few months helped me realize that abstinence is the greatest possible empowerment that I can choose in my situation. it's the only possible positive perspective there is. it allows me to gain control over my feelings and decisions, distance myself from self-abuse and grieve my childhood losses, something that i can't do if I'm engaged in s*xual activity that feeds upon that very same trauma.
abstinence seems difficult or impossible if you haven't made a firm decision. if you're sure about your decision, it's no harder than abstaining from your least favorite food. the idea of abstinence feels rightfully oppressive and destructive if you're a healthy person. what's the point of restricting yourself? but abstinence is freeing, uplifting and happy if you are troubled by profound s*xual dysfunction and sex-related trauma. it makes you feel more alive. sexuality exists for the purpose of reproduction and to be part of a healthy relationship - and as long as it can't serve that purpose and instead causes harm, there's no point in engaging with it.

Hi all - I just had an exploratory call with FreeWill. The cost is very high considering that the main thing I'm interested in is the tool that allows folks to make their will via a nonprofit's website. Seems like it would be at 10K for my organization.
Has anyone worked with or had introductory calls with the other companies in this industry? If so, are there others that offer a more scaled back version of this service at a lower cost than FreeWill? I don't really want the help with comms/strategy, as I have several existing mentors/sources on this front.

I live in New Jersey, company is based in Maryland.
I have been in limbo at a small management consulting company for the past few weeks. I was hired in a dual role as a Senior Financial Analyst and Project Analyst. Before being hired full-time I worked 2.5 years for them as a contractor through a 3rd party company.
Here's a quick timeline of events. (obviously working off memory and had to stick with highlights)

• Nov 16 - Hired
• Jan '24 - I was responsible for project budgets and resource planning of 7 projects. Company begins berating me for not being able to complete the work they assigned to me due to their poor management skills. Project managers have no knowledge of project budgets and CEO had no time to give me the information I needed to get the work done.
• Late Jan '24 - given 2 warnings in the span of 4 days. Accusing me of not getting my work done. Put me on a unofficial "pip" (they didnt use this word) where I had to meet with my manager daily for 2 weeks. I completed that process successfully.
• February 5th - Owner calls me and says she can't afford me anymore, and has to convert me to part time. No written record of this was provided. The following weeks I get about 5-8 hours weekly of work. Which means I'm no longer making good money.
• March 10th - I submit my application for unemployment citing lack of work and get approved.
• March 30th - A contractor refuses to renew his contract, has his final paycheck withheld for over 2 weeks.
• April 5th - A Project Manager is fired.
• April 12th - Owner calls me up with an extremely hostile tone and accuses me of not doing my work. Nobody has warned me. My manager says i'm doing good work. The auditor she hired says i'm doing good work. Completely unwarranted. I ask "why dont you part ways with me then?" Owner says "ok if you want that, write an email to HR and resign." I respond "why would I resign?" She says "YOU don't want to do the work, therefore you are verbally resigning." Turns into an argument where she uses personal attacks - "I wrote a rec letter for your university for you!" "I know your parents raised you better than this!"
  
• April 15th - Owner removes me from meetings stating "Thanks for the discussion on friday, thanks for letting me know." I immediately forward this to HR declaring that I have no declined any work and that the discussion on friday was extremely hostile. HR said they would meet with me.
  
• April 16th - my access from email and Teams is removed. IT doesn't respond to my email. HR ignores this.
  
• April 18th - 45 Meeting with HR, they record on zoom. I record on my phone. I tell them everything that happened on that friday "discussion" with the owner and then:

Since being hired I have experienced the following:

1. Abusive work environment with pervasive office politics and mistrust, an environment that sets you up to fail.
   
2. Unreasonable work expectations and accusations of incomplete tasks and declined tasks.
   
3. Inappropriate personal comments about the way my parents raised me and guilt-tripping over a recommendation letter.
   
4. Physical and mental health issues exacerbated by excessive work hours, evidenced by an average of 4 hours of sleep per night in January as per my sleep tracker device. As well as exacerbated ADHD symptoms which have become even more prominent under the pressure I am experiencing.
   
5. A shift from full-time to an undocumented prorated part-time status.
   
6. Assignment of tasks beyond my qualification, notably in advanced accounting.
   
7. Removal of my financial analytics duties due to unattainable expectations.
   
8. Lack of trust in management and fear of retaliation.
   
9. Pressure to resign if unable to meet the constant changing job requirements.
   
10. Impact on my education, leading me to drop my graduate course for the semester.
    
11. Consistent reframing of what I've said and making it out to be something it is not.
    
12. Character assassination to delegitimize my work efforts.
    
13. Access to the system shut off as of the 16th, which is when the new pay period started. No response from HR until yesterday, no response from IT.
    
14. The above point also impacts my ability to request PTO which considering I just had it sorted out with HR and it was stated in writing that I would be able to begin utilize it this pay period, with everything else, is quite suspicious.
    
15. OWNER admitted interest from Friday in protecting her unemployment insurance rates.
    
16. No warning from my current manager, MANAGER. From her perspective, I have done nothing wrong and there was nothing to give me a warning about.
    
17. AUDITOR who is managing the PROJECT NAME projects also had no criticism toward me in the context to my work there.
    

Attorney friend said that I scared the shit out of their HR team but legally speaking they're only liable for discrimination and EEOC complaints, beyond that, I could potentially pursue a legal case but it would be a pain in the ass. But in regards to my case to keep my unemployment benefits from being disrupted, from her understanding, is likely very strong.
April 30th - HR offers to pay out 40 hours of my accrued PTO plus 35 hours of pay for a "soft landing" but asks me to sign a document stating i'm the one resigning. I show it to my attorney friend (although she specializes in a different state and isn't familiar with Maryland or NJ) and she says that if I sign this, I won't be entitled to unemployment.
I refuse to sign, and declare that I am not resigning and have never stated an intent to resign and that they should send me the recording links, which i've asked for before and they never sent it. They ignore everything I say and just say "ok we will fix the address on file and update our records."
Am I fucked? Why are they trying to fight me so hard? I have witnesses, screenshots, proof in every ounce of everything I state even though they've conveniently locked me out of the system. Is this not constructive dismissal? Some people said that small business owners take benefits payouts personally and they can be vindictive when faced with situations like this.
Man, i'm exhausted dealing with this shit and just want to move on but if they want to fight this I swear to God I will go to the deepest lengths possible to fight this to the full extent of the law. It's destroying my mental health and i'm doing my best to prepare for technical interviews but it's so distracting to deal with.

My ideal slice of life roleplay would be to include nice, warm, wholesome and lovey - dovey moments into the play. I really want something pure in it, I want to be smiling while roleplaying about this. The idea of two characters being so into each other, looking out for each other in their tough times, that magical touch of love into the play (if you know what I mean). Like the perfect romance, the "these two are meant for each other. These two are goals!" factor is what I am looking for. I am a web dev and joined a crypto company as a frontend dev recently. This has raised my interest in crypto and the more I read about it and interact with the community, the more I feel like about 95% is an overcomplicated way to create a ponzi scheme...
I am pretty sure that the narrative of "everything will run on the blockchain" is not true at all, because smart contracts are just shit. They can only really interact with blockchain data and not with real world stuff and apis, because then the whole concept of trustless applications falls apart so no point in going the extra extra mile of implementing business logic on a resource-limited EVM in my opinion.
Anyways, that did not stop me yet. Now I am trying to just get my hands dirty and try to build something to see how it feels like developing on the blockchain. I picked a Super Tic Tac Toe running on Solana and people actually told me: "just do a rug pull; thats simpler", basically telling me I should just scam people. This also shows me that the community is purely toxic.
There are a few interesting projects like Nosana, Render, etc, which try to run a GPU network on the blockchain to make training AI models cheaper, but that can't be it. Like seriously, there must be something I am not seeing because I don't understand the technology enough, right? I don't want to invest too much into learning this technology just to come back a year later knowing that this is just a complicated scam.
What are your thoughts on blockchain development?
