I have 25k and its own bank account for a used truck. Looking online, everyone from NerdWallet to consumer reports is telling me not to use cash to buy this car. Why should I take out if my credit score is the best they can offer me is 7% and I will not be able to get the same car because 25 grand is a lot less when you think about 10% interest or around there for however many months. I had thought that if I paid in cash that I would get a better deal then if I was to make payments but that does not seem to be the case as dealerships are now incentivized to Leases or monthly payments as they get a piece of the pie.
I buy a car from a person who is selling their car? If so, it’s not like they have auto trader magazines sitting at every train station auto shop and supermarket anymore. How do I find someone who has the kind of car that I want (Tacoma) with <70k mi on it that has not been in a major accident? When you buy a car from an individual, do they let you take it somewhere to get it looked at to make sure that the body is sound and that no major parts are going to give out soon (i.e. my first car ever, a 1990 Daytona, that needed a new alternator about a month after I spent every cent I had saved up on it and then tended to stall each time i turned left). PA does have great lemon laws, I’m not so much worried about that, I just don’t want to settle or be forced to take out a loan i don’t need.
Here is my rant. money in the US is messed up these days. They need to figure something out at the Treasury Dept, the mint, or wherever. I would say the average person with a college education that I know makes around, after taxes, 45 to 55 grand a year. And I was born in 1981. When you go to ATM, you are allowed to take out $400 at a time. This is the same amount that I was allowed to take out of an ATM when I first started drinking which was 2002. One year before that I was making $5.25 an hour minimum wage in 2001 and now in the same state minimum wage is two dollars more.. in 2001 I had an apartment that is comfortable to the apartment I live in now and I paid for a two bedroom my half which was $375 a month. I now pay my half which is over $1500 a month. The first place included utilities, and the new place does not. A new car around that time if I wanted to say a Camry was about 16 to 18 grand. It’s now over twice that. I don’t know what year I bought my razr phone or my blackberry but I do know that since I was with Verizon every two years I got a free upgrade on that I wanted, so a new phone every two years. Movies were seven bucks and matinees were for I haven’t been to one lately, but I think they’re around 20 something. Concerts 12 bucks, not 150. A pair of jeans was 3 to 4 times less than it is now and lasted maybe 10 times as long. As did every other article of clothing, which you can see from the amount of people who are selling their clothes from the 90s and 00s online these days and throwing away new clothes within 6 months. My first used car was bought in 1998, was 8 years old, 30k miles, and $5k. The average salary of recently graduated (not 20 years later likeI spoke of earlier) college educated people in 2000? $50k. Average price of a used Toyota Tacoma made in the past 10 years with less than 50k miles? $35k.

Hi all!
Just a few weeks ago I was on my way to pump gas, it says I have approximately 20 miles left in the tank. Before I could pull into the gas station, the car went dead - dry of gas just 2 lights away. I tried starting several times confused of why it would die with 20 miles left. After getting some help, I filled it with 2 gallons of gas and then the rest at the gas station.
After that event, no matter how many times I filled up the tank, the gauge is stuck at 3/4 of the way only. I tried the following solultions but to no avail: 1. Filling the tank at 1/4. 2. Holding the odometer trip button down after the car is turned off and continued doing so a few seconds after turning the car back on. Nothing.

1. Filling it up a bit more after the gas handle auto clicks.

At this point I contemplate of bringing the car to the dealership and rant. Could the rear bumper accident a few months prior affect the eletrical system? Has this happened to anyone? Do you guys have any suggestions?

My daughter is a junior, playing high school volleyball. A senior that graduated, recently, was involved in an auto accident, while under the influence of marijuana and alcohol. She was also driving under a suspended license for a previous DUI charge. She drove the wrong way on bridge, struck an oncoming driver and killed them.
During the season, and after this happened, her varsity coach called the girls to a huddle before a game, and stated that they wanted to dedicate the game to her former teammate. "Let's win this one for Aubrey." They girls all looked perplexed as they knew the former player just killed someone. As a parent, why would you dedicate a game to a player that is about to be convicted of aggrevated vehicular homocide under a previous dui suspended license? What message are we sending our youth?
The AD did not know this occurred, and board members were told, and appalled. So far, nothing has happened because it is the MO of the Superintendant to sweep everything under the rug.

I’m hoping you guys have some insight that could help me… I’m suppose to be getting a CT scan because of the anomaly that found on my MRI. Now I wasn’t too worried bc the pain from the motorcycle accident (happened early April) had almost all subsided. When I pulled my back yesterday just bending down, it hurts so bad I can’t walk.. no exaggeration my boyfriend helped me to and from the bathroom and I laid in bed all day yesterday. I can’t even turn over without crying.. after reading online (I prob shouldn’t do that) it says I might have a herniated disc. I called the imaging center where I’m suppose to have the CT (same place I went for the MRI) and they say their earliest appointment is in 2 weeks. Last 2 times I went to the ER, they sent me home with pain meds (which I still have) and an appointment for imagining which I already have.
I honestly just don’t know what I should do.. wait it out and hope this intensity goes away soon or go to the er again? Do you know of any place that could get me into a CT scan right away (la area)? Even if I get the scan today, is there something a doctor could do to help this pain away? Back brace? Also I won’t have primary health care insurance for much longer and don’t know what I should do. I’m hoping you have some advice..
My back hurts so I’m calling off from work which means I’m not making any money and by the time my scans are ready, my benefits will have been removed which I’ll have to pay out of pocket (right)? I feel fucked either way the cookie crumbles

Just curious on cases from anyone here, since I remember that one time a lady called in and asked me how can she claim the auto insurance, I noticed that the policy started literally that same day and I asked some probing questions like time of the accident, some minor details, and finally got to a point where I had to ask “so you got the insurance online after the accident?” and then she answered yes and how she can use the coverage since she paid for it.
It was pretty funny and silly having to explain that wouldn’t be covering this accident.

Hi there,
Last Monday, my 13.5 year old dog suddenly collapsed, and became nonambulatory in all four legs.
I took her to a nuerological specialist, who took standard x-rays and bloodwork trying to rule out cancer as a potential cause and overall general health. Those test results came back negative for cancer, and from what they could tell she was a healthy older lady.
After their nuerological exam, they favored she either had FCE or ANNPE. They couldn't rule out neoplasia or IVDD without an MRI, but favor a spinal event due to how sudden/immediate it was, she's in no pain, and she favors one side over the other.
I choose to not do the MRI, mostly beacaue I simply can't afford it ($5000+), but also because any outcome has no real path forward of action outside waiting. If it's cancer, she will decline quickly and we put her down. If it's IVDD, I can't afford surgery as well as she's old and has bad arthritis, and recovery would be brutal. If it's a spinal event, bed rest and PT is what I'm being told.
During the last week, she now pushes herself up on her front legs to adjust herself on her bed, stretches all four legs after napping, and is starting to wag her tail. She'll also wobble off her bed and do a strange looking army crawl/roll/hobble if the doorbell rings in an effort to greet the person at the door. All of this is supervised so she doesn't hurt herself, and seems to be pretty hard for her to do for longer than maybe 10 seconds at a time.
She isn't showing any signs of pain, has a good appetite, drinking normally, and urinates/deficates with help outside. She still has accidents, but that's expected.
Are these good signs of recovery, or possibly just what her new normal is? If these aren't signs of some sort of recovery, what are?
I'm starting to call around for PT sessions, but worried about cost (I know, I sound awful talking about money). Is it better to wait until she recovers a little more before I try some sessions, or is it better to start earlier?
I'm looking to buy her an inflatable peanut therapy ball that she can stand with, but need to measure her first to get the right size. Are these valid tools for helping?
Lastly... When is a reasonable time to know she isn't getting better? I know "I will just know", but I don't want her to suffer. She's old and slept for most of the day before this, but loved walking outside and roaming the yard when she wasn't asleep. Now, she just sleeps and barks outside at anything that moves (so she's entertained for now I suppose). My wife and I are making this work for now, and my kids are getting ready to start summer break, so we have more time than normal for now, but life is rough and stressful as it is. I'm trying my best...

Apologies in advance for the lengthy post, I’m just kind of anxious. Last year when I got my license and my first car, I was prepared to have to pay out of the wazoo for auto insurance with being a new driver. I did a bunch of claims for the major companies myself and was being quoted like $800-1000 a month which was obviously unaffordable. Then my coworkers told me to go to an insurance broker agency and they can help me find the cheapest rate as they work with many different insurance companies.
So I did and I luckily got a policy for only $297 a month which wasn’t too too bad. I read the quote and signed all my paperwork but it wasn’t until recently after I got hit and had to do a claim that when I went into my insurance’s actual office not the brokers office who sold me my policy’s office that I saw the agent who helped me lied and put me down as a driver with 11 years experience. It wasn’t in my paper work that I have nor is it on the app or website so I never knew. I’m already 7-8 months into my policy. I recently have been shopping around for cheaper insurance because why not? If I can get a better rate who wouldn’t switch, right? I went to another broker agency and they sent me the best quote with an insurance company that I’ve not heard of (it’s legit I researched, it’s just a smaller one that I’ve not heard of) and but this time… they included everything of the policy including years of experience and they also put 11 years even though i told them I’ve only had mine for a year. They put my accident down which is good because I wouldn’t want to lie about that.
I’m just curious if this is a normal thing? I keep hearing from all my friends and family that it is and that’s normally what brokers will do to try their best to help save you money and get you the most discounts. I just feel uneasy about it I guess. Every insurance agent I’ve talked to and got a quote from has lied about my experience even agents directly from major Insurance companies. I didn’t know if that’s like a normal thing and it’s just like frowned upon and is unethical or if it’s like a major thing and is a crime? I’m not the one lying and I did my part by telling the truth of my experience. My auto insurance currently knows and I told the insurance guy at my actual insurance company’s office and he was like basically “meh, I wouldn’t worry about it honestly. As long as you pay your policy and drive safely, you’re fine”

Long story is below My wife got into an accident with our new Buick and I messed up the auto insurance. Forgot to follow up with the insurance agent after mentioning the new car purchase. Thought since I had to provide insurance proof, that would include my insurance on the new car. Got a bit confused with everything happening around the same time as well as buying a new home. Anyway, With the insurance fiasco, we were going to be down 15k with our car on repairs as well as fixing the claimant's car. They said they were about to sell it for 5k the very next day, so we quickly offered to buy it for 5k with the damages. They agreed and luckily there was no serious injuries. We bought it for 5k and are now struggling to sell it to anyone online. Does anyone offer any other sites besides marketplace to sell the car?
We are just trying to get some $$ back for it. Battery, tires and brakes are all good.

I could accept Paypal, but that's not my goal (just getting games i'd like to play). tl;dr: KTC M32P10 and Neo G7 are best. Not sure which to keep yet. Innocn ones are a close second. Porsche PD32M is terrible.
I've been looking for a mini LED monitor, and in the process have tried the Innocn 27M2V, Innocn 32M2V, KTC M32P10, Porsche Design PD32M, and the Samsung Neo G7. I've put together my experiences with each monitor, in case it helps anyone else considering these, but also to help myself decide which one to keep.
Keep in mind that I'm not some kind of monitorphile. I can't test for colour accuracy, nits, response times, or anything fancy like that. I'm coming from a regular 4k IPS screen. I've only ever used TN and IPS before. I've never used VA, OLED, or curved screens before. I've always had matte coatings. I'm not in any special light-controlled environment; I use my computer in different lighting conditions, as there is a window that lets in varying amounts of sunlight. I do desktop work as well as play games.
Innocn 27M2V:
Ordered for £646 from Amazon.com.
This was my first time ever trying a mini LED monitor. Initial impressions were therefore fantastic: I was blown away by experiencing real HDR content for the first time. Bright lights, particle effects, laser beams, explosions, etc. all pop so brightly, like flashlights shining in my face. Incredible. Blacks are actually black. With a fully black screen, it's as if the monitor is just switched off. And local dimming magically removes IPS glow. It's amazing toggling it on and off and seeing the glow just disappear.
There's a "backlight contrast" setting which goes from 0 to 100, and controls how the local dimming works. A higher value seems to prioritise bright highlights more. With a white mouse cursor on a black screen, the cursor is quite dimmed at 0, whereas at 100 it better maintains its brightness.
I found local dimming quite bad for SDR desktop use though, which I think is to be expected. When just using a web browser, Steam chat, etc., local dimming just seems to be a downgrade. Blooming is easily noticeable, and changes on one part of the screen easily affect completely different parts of the screen. For example, playing a YouTube video in a browser window results in brightness outside of that window changing as the video changes. It almost looks like "fullscreen dimming", with the rest of the desktop flickering in brightness as the YouTube video plays.
Local dimming was mostly great for SDR movies, anime, etc. But at times I did notice some flicker, e.g. as a character walked across the screen in anime (with mostly solid colours), I was distracted by a flickering trail of zones behind the character.
The shell of the monitor was a bit disappointing. There are gaps between the shell and the screen, which can let dust in — I've seen other people report this. And the back is an absolute nightmare for cleaning. It has so many ridges and grooves all over the entire back surface, all dust traps. You'd need to spend ages with a can of compressed air to properly clean it. It may sound silly, but I honestly think this is a deal-breaker. If I were to keep this monitor, I'd definitely need to 3D print some kind of dust cover to go on the back of it.
The lights on the back are a pointless gimmick. They aren't bright enough to illuminate the wall, so unless you look at the back of the monitor often, you'll never even see them.
The OSD and inputs are okay, but the physical buttons are a bit annoying. I was bothered by them more than I thought I'd be. Parallax error can mean it's a bit difficult to tell which physical button is being pressed in relation to the buttons displayed on the OSD.
There are 6 crosshair options, and they're okay.
Defects: 5+ stuck/dead subpixels. A small crack on the stand.
Innocn 32M2V:
Ordered for £746 from Amazon.com.
Not much to say about this. To me, it was exactly the same as the Innocn 27M2V, just bigger and with a black shell. No other differences that I noticed.
Defects: 1 stuck subpixel, and a very large piece of dirt trapped under screen (almost looks like somebody drew a small line on it with a marker pen!).
Porsche Design PD32M:
Ordered for £700 from Amazon.co.uk. This was a sale price, with it normally costing £1400-1750.
This is by far the most expensive monitor on this list, and on paper has the highest specs (e.g. DisplayHDR 1400). Yet it's easily the worst monitor I've tried. Just avoid it.
Build quality is pretty good. I had no complaints about the shell of the monitor, aside from the stupid pop-out "headphone stand" wings that wobbled and felt very cheap. Materials felt premium otherwise. The stand was made of metal and ridiculously heavy — very hard to move this thing around. Also, unlike the Innocn monitor, the lights on the back actually are bright enough to light up the wall a bit in a dark room.
Everything beyond the exterior was just disappointing. It seems all the money just went to the Porsche branding and the metal stand.
Local dimming barely does anything on this monitor. Contrary to some older posts in this subreddit, it can be enabled in SDR: you just need to turn off game mode. It just doesn't do much... Blacks get slightly darker when local dimming is on, but it still generally looks like local dimming is off. IPS glow is still clearly apparent. Even on a completely black screen, the backlight stays well lit. Really disappointing.
Local dimming is a bit better in HDR, but it seems to want to spread out the light all the way across the screen to minimise blooming, which defeats the purpose of having so many zones. Instead of bright highlights and deep black shadows, you just get dim highlights and grey shadows. Changes on the far left side of the screen affect the dimming zones on the far right of the screen. There's no wow factor or pop.
PWM flicker is horrible on this monitor. Very easily noticeable on camera.
I found the OSD layout and navigation to be a bit confusing. When changing settings, you have to scroll blindly through the options — you only ever see the current selection, and never see the full list of options. When HDR is enabled, most of the settings get disabled too — you can't change colours, contrast, the normal brightness setting, or much of anything else. There is a "luminous max" setting that you can change though, to turn down the max HDR brightness.
The joystick on the back feels very loose and fiddly. It's easy to double-press inputs by accident.
The crosshair is accessed by pressing and holding the joystick button when no menus are open. It's nice that it's a quick toggle like this, but the design is quite a thick pink crosshair, which isn't ideal for precision.
There's a remote control included, which I thought would be nice. But what's the point? Once the monitor is set up, the only thing I might want to change often would be the local dimming setting. And local dimming barely does anything on this monitor, especially in SDR. So the remote becomes useless.
Defects: 27+ stuck/dead subpixels. I gave up counting.
KTC M32P10:
Ordered for £693 from Amazon.com.
This was largely similar to the Innocn monitors, so I won't talk too much about this. Overall, I feel it's better than Innocn:

• The packaging was far superior: the box folds open for easy access, it had quality foam instead of annoying polystyrene, and a nice protective film over the screen.
• The build quality feels better. There's a slight texturing on the plastic that makes it feel a bit more premium, and no gaps around the screen edges.
• The monitor is much easier to clean, due to having a simple shape that can be wiped down.
• The joystick is so much easier to use than the buttons on the Innocn.
• Better crosshair (tight red + symbol).
• Better shortcut settings: pressing a joystick direction immediately goes to that shortcut, and local dimming is available as a shortcut option.

I did feel like the Innocn monitors did local dimming slightly better though:

• I think Innocn had a bit brighter highlights and darker shadows, whereas KTC spreads the light out a little more to reduce blooming. But it's only a very slight difference.
• With Innocn, the "brightness" setting seems to control average brightness. So when turning local dimming on, the picture generally appears to be the same brightness, but with better contrast. With KTC, the brightness setting seems to control max brightness instead. So when turning local dimming on, the overall picture becomes much darker as zones become dimmed. I found I had to turn brightness up significantly after turning local dimming on (for watching movies, etc.).
• Innocn's local dimming is much more configurable, with a 0-100 backlight contrast setting. KTC just has Auto, Standard, and High settings. "Auto" just means "Standard but only in HDR". So really there are only two settings. Standard and High here seem to refer to how much blacks will be prioritised. Standard seems roughly equivalent to Innocn's 0, while High just makes everything even darker which is just worse (it's like if you could set a negative value for Innocn's backlight contrast). I do wish I could get something like Innocn's 100 setting on this monitor.

Also, the KTC monitor's power light is on the front, which could be distracting in the dark... Innocn has it on the bottom. It can always be covered up though I suppose.
Between KTC and Innocn, I'd just pick KTC. I think it does the same thing better for the most part. And it is so much easier to clean. Having to turn up the brightness when using SDR local dimming is an annoyance, but good joystick with quick shortcuts make it fairly painless.
Defects: 26+ stuck subpixels, and three pieces of dirt trapped under the screen.
Samsung Neo G7:
Ordered for £600 from eBay.co.uk.
This was my first time ever trying a VA panel, as well as a curved screen.
I had read a lot online about IPS vs VA panels, and went in expecting blacks to be black even without local dimming, and also for there to be significant colour-shift as I moved my head around. I saw neither of these things. With local dimming off, blacks looked grey, like "lit blacks", just the same as on an IPS screen. Actually, the blacks almost look worse, at times taking on a blue-ish tint that I never noticed before with IPS panels. Viewing angles seem pretty good too. Yeah, there's some slight colour shift at the edges or as I move my head around, but it's very subtle, and I've actually seen that with the IPS screens too. You could've told me it was an IPS panel and I would've believed you. People online talk like there's such a huge difference between the two, but based on this experience I feel like they're almost the same. So, this was a little bit of a let down, as I looking forward to experiencing something new and different. But there is definitely no IPS glow. So I suppose VA is decent: I see a minor upside and no downside compared to IPS.
Once I started playing around with HDR content and local dimming, my initial disappointment was reversed and I fell in love with the picture quality. Contrast is amazing. Colours are bright and vivid with a lot of pop, blacks are great. It just looks so good. There's definitely a noticeable difference compared to the previous monitors. Although, I do wonder how much of this is the monitor actually being better, or whether it's just producing an overly saturated / overly contrasty image. Maybe the other monitors are just being more accurate to how it's supposed to be? I really don't know. At the very least, this monitor definitely seems to oversaturate reds, and I've seen other people confirm that. The whole thing could just be exaggerated/overtuned for all I know — but it looks so good.
Blooming is very minimal; often completely invisible. If I stand up and look down at the screen from a very extreme angle, I can see the blooming, but straight-on it just magically disappears. Is this the power of VA? Since it can block out the backlight better, blooming is eliminated? It makes sense, but it's odd that it's so apparent with local dimming on, when it wasn't with it off. It's really quite incredible how little blooming I see, without sacrificing the bright highlights. Even with SDR desktop use, I see very little blooming, yet the picture is fantastic. This is the only monitor on the list where I can happily use local dimming for desktop use (even High local dimming!) and it not be a problem at all. This is very convenient, as there's no need to keep changing monitor settings depending on what I'm doing.
I also noticed the local dimming seems slightly faster / more responsive than the other monitors. I didn't comment on this earlier as all the monitors were quite comparable, exhibiting some flickering/trailing with the fast moving white ball in Rting's test video. The Neo G7 flickers/trails too, but a little bit less.
This monitor has Auto, Low, and High modes for local dimming. The description claims that Auto makes it turn on only for HDR, but that isn't true. Auto still works in SDR mode, just with a very diminished effect. Low and High here seem to refer to how much contrast you get. Personally, I like High the most. It gives the most pop in HDR and SDR movies, and still has very little blooming on the SDR desktop.
Brightness is configurable in HDR mode, so if it's too bright you can turn it down. The monitor also saves brightness, contrast enhancer, and perhaps other settings separately for SDR and HDR mode, which is very convenient.
A minor annoyance is that the screen goes black momentarily when toggling local dimming on or off. With all the other monitors, this didn't happen, which made it much easier to see what changes local dimming is actually making to the image.
The curve... There are definitely pros and cons to it, but overall I feel it's a bad thing.

• Pros: It definitely makes the far corners of the screen easier to see. On a flat screen, sometimes things in the corners can feel a bit "off in the distance" and harder to see easily at a glance or keep an awareness of, and I tunnel vision the center a bit. With the curve, the corners stay closer to the eyes. It's good for general desktop use, like chatting and browsing the internet, and good for HUD elements like health bars, minimaps, etc. The curve also makes it easier to reach behind the monitor to access the cables.
  
• Cons: Obvious distortion. I've seen a lot of people say "the curve just disappears", but that isn't true at all. It's curved, and I have functioning eyes, so of course I can see that it's curved. A round object won't suddenly look square just because you stared at it long enough. If there were horizontal stripes across the screen, and I sat perfectly still, then whichever stripe lines up with my eyes would appear flat, but the ones above take on a u-shape and the ones below take on a n-shape. The distortion is very noticeable, and definitely detracts from image quality.
  
• When I'm playing games, it always feels like the floor is sloped, like my character is standing on a hill. If I turn the camera to look at my character from the side, the floor is very obviously rounded — and if I then move horizontally, it's as if the entire game world is rolling, like my character is running on top of a spinning ball. It's almost a bit disorienting. When indoors in a square room, the straight walls appear to bulge out. If I move the camera around, the distortion becomes even more obvious, as everything twists and bends in different directions as they get closer to the top or bottom of the screen. Very strange effect.
  
• I notice it when watching anime as well, not just games. Also spreadsheets are a little bit harder to work with, as it's harder to follow along horizontal rows. Even just moving my head around as I shift positions in my seat causes the distortion to change. I feel like it reduces immersion overall, as I can't see the screen as a "window into another world", but instead am constantly reminded that it's "just an image wrapped along this curved object in front of me".
  
• Is it a deal-breaker? Not necessarily... but it's definitely a con.
  

Aside from that, I was disappointed to see that this screen has very heavy PWM flicker. It's not quite as bad as on the Porsche, but it's easily captured by a phone camera: thick black stripes scrolling across the screen. It varies depending on the screen brightness, the refresh rate, and whether or not local dimming is in use — but it's always there. I can't say that I've actually noticed any eyestrain in my time using it, so perhaps it's not a problem... Maybe a little bit of slight burning in my eyes... it's so hard to tell. But I've always used flicker-free screens in the past, and I spend so much time at my computer, that this really does worry me. What harm will this do to my eye health in the long run?
I also find that this monitor has quite a distracting glare. None of the other monitors I've ever use exhibited this. I can see a (blurry) reflection of myself in the screen. No matter whether I'm in a lit room or a dark room, I get glare and reflections on the screen. It's especially bad in dark scenes as the glare covers up the blacks a bit. It is distracting.
The OSD is pretty decent. It works well enough, and it actually has descriptions for the settings unlike all the other monitors. The buttons are okay; not as great as a normal joystick though. Shortcut settings are very poor: you only get one shortcut button, you can't set a shortcut for local dimming, and it's not really a shortcut anyway as it still takes 4 button presses to actually get to it.
Crosshair options are impressive. You get a preview of them all in the menu, which is much more convenient (on the other monitors, you have to select one just by its number and then exit the OSD entirely to actually see what it looks like). You can even customise the on-screen position of the crosshair. The designs are decent and usable too, although not quite as good as KTC's crosshair design.
The power light is on the bottom of the monitor, which is good for minimising distractions. It can even be turned off entirely while in use.
Quirks/Defects:

• This was the first/only monitor on the list to have an absolutely perfect screen, with no bad pixels.
• I got severe flickering in games when using FreeSync. The screen would flash and flicker, and the bottom half of the screen would flicker with a copy of the top half of the screen. Very crazy — the entire screen was going nuts. This was fixed by turning on the VRR Control setting, which supposedly increases input lag.
• I got random random black screens in games when using FreeSync, even with VRR Control. Every now and then while playing, the screen would just suddenly go black for a second or two, then come back. I had to turn off FreeSync entirely to fix this.
• When viewing HDR screenshots with the Windows image viewer, the monitor would suddenly start flickering in brightness crazily. This only ever happened with the image viewer. Maybe related to FreeSync again?
• Toggling FreeSync back and forth while playing an HDR game made the monitor go crazy, with the screen progressively getting more more and oversaturated and oversharpened, eventually becoming almost solid white with just grey "shadows" moving around on screen as I pressed controls in-game. Weird.
• The picture seems a bit washed out when viewing SDR content in Windows with HDR turned on. I've seen other people report this issue on this subreddit before. None of the other monitors had this problem.
• At some point, the monitor seemed to get a bit confused, and would only let me use 120 Hz in Windows, with the refresh rate setting greyed out in the OSD. I had to toggle FreeSync back and forth in order to get the 165 Hz option back.
• At times, I notice some strange ABL or something. I'll switch from a dark screen to a white screen, and it'll be blindingly bright but then gradually dim down over several seconds. I've only noticed this in SDR content with local content on.
• After a particularly long session, I suddenly got an OSD popup from the monitor telling me that it will switch off automatically unless I press a button. Very odd. I checked in the OSD, and there's an "Off Timer Plus" setting where you can configure it turn off automatically after a period of time — but this was turned OFF. After searching online, it seems the off setting doesn't actually turn it off, but instead just sets it to a high value. Stupid. It's not the end of the world, but I could see this being annoying when pulling all-nighters. I did later find the hidden service menu, and there's an "Off Timer Def" setting there set to on, so maybe changing that would fix it — I didn't try.

Comparison:

• Picture quality: Neo G7 > Innocn=KTC, but all three are good. Porsche is just terrible.
• Local dimming: Neo G7 > Innocn > KTC, but all three are good. Porsche is just terrible.
• Flicker free: Innocn and KTC are both flicker-free. Neo G7 and Porsche are not.
• Glare: Innocn, KTC, and Porsche were all fine. Neo G7 has very distracting glare.
• Build quality: KTC > Neo G7 > Innocn. Porsche is great here for the most part, but has very cheap-feeling headphone stand wings that ruin it.
• Shell: KTC > Neo G7 > Porsche > Innocn. Innocn is a nightmare to clean.
• Stand: Innocn and KTC have the best stands in my opinion. Simple and easy to use, and they keep out of the way. Neo G7 and Porsche stands both have long feet that get in the way, and the Neo G7 requires more setup work with screws and a screwdriver.
• OSD: Neo G7 > KTC > Innocn > Porsche. Neo G7's OSD includes descriptions for each setting.
• Shortcuts: KTC > Innocn > Porsche > Neo G7. Only KTC has fast shortcuts that go immediately to the desired function. Only KTC allows a shortcut for local dimming.
• Buttons: KTC > Porsche > Neo G7 > Innocn. KTC and Porsche both use joysticks, but KTC's feels much better. Porsche does have a remote too though.
• Crosshair: KTC > Neo G7 > Porsche > Innocn. Neo G7 has the most configurable crosshair, as you can choose different colours and even the position of it. But I feel that generally the position doesn't need to be changed anyway, and KTC has the best crosshair design: a simple, tight + symbol.
• Power LED: Neo G7 > Innocn > KTC. Neo G7 and Innocn both have the light underneath the monitor, so it's not distracting when in a dark room. Neo G7 even lets you turn it off entirely. KTC has it on the front of the monitor, facing forward.
• Packaging: KTC > Neo G7 > Innocn > Porsche.
• Defects: Every single unit had defects. All except the Neo G7 had bad pixels, and the Neo G7 had flickering / black screen issues.

The KTC monitor is the only one with real shortcuts. You can set all the joystick directions to shortcut settings (including local dimming!), and then as soon as you press that direction you immediately go to that setting with its value in edit mode. The other monitors are much more limited (e.g. Neo G7 only has one "shortcut" button, and none of the others let you bind local dimming), but they're not even real shortcuts — you have to press 2-4 button inputs before you actually get to the "shortcut".
On the Innocn, Porsche, and Neo G7 monitors, I noticed very small dots in the top-left and top-right corners of the screen, outside the pixel area. I assume these are some kind of markings to indicate orientation of the panel or something? Maybe I'm being a bit OCD, but they bother me a little bit. When the shell is black and the screen border is black, the little dots stand out to me and I can't help but notice them. The KTC monitor is the only one that doesn't have these.
Conclusion:
For me, the KTC M32P10 and the Samsung Neo G7 are the best of these options. I'm really not sure what to do. The Neo G7 has the best picture quality, but I'm really put off by the PWM dimming, the curve's distortion, and the glare. If there was a Neo G7 that was flat and with DC dimming, I would definitely pick that...
I'm thinking of trying the Neo G8 next, since it's supposed to have a more matte coating with better reflection handling, but it's still going to have the same PWM dimming and curve. It also has an ugly white back, but I suppose I won't see that.

In September of 2022, my husband (33 m) worked for somewhere between 80-90 hours most weeks. He worked at a popular auto parts store as a store manager. One night, he finished working for the night, and he decided to go to his friends mechanic shop where he had some tacos and two beers.
He had to go back to his store because his employees were having some kind of issue that needed his attention. Once the store was closed, he drove an employee home, went to the gas station, and headed towards our home.
He called me on his way home because I had just gotten off work. It was somewhere between 11pm and 12am. I picked up food on my way, took it home, and began eating it. I remained on the phone with him the whole time, but wasn’t really talking. we were more so keeping each other company.
Suddenly, I heard dinging noises coming from his truck and the emergency 911 system in his truck going off, so I asked him what was going on. He said, “I think I’ve just been in an accident. I’m upside down.” He fell asleep while driving.
So I left to meet him at the scene of the accident, still remaining on the phone. It hadn’t really occurred to me that this might be treated as a dui because I know what my husband is like when he is too impaired to drive and he seemed fine to me.
The police made it there before I did, as did ems. Once he was out of the truck (he was initially trapped and had to climb out of the windshield after trooper A busted it) ems checked him out and cleared him. Trooper B issued a field sobriety test.
He failed a couple of the tests but passed the others. Trooper b administered a breath test, which in our state is pass or fail. He failed. So my husband was taken to the hospital and was required to provide a blood sample which later revealed a bac of .09.
He was taken to jail and spent about thirteen hours there.
When he got out, we hired an attorney for $3500 which covered his services for general sessions court. Throughout the court process, the court dates continued getting reset due to the d.a. Not watching the body cam footage due to lack of time. In April of 2023, he was offered the minimum sentence of 48 hours in jail, 11/29 probation, and 1 year with an ignition interlock device.
He decided that he wanted to move on to circuit court because it might give the d.a. Time to more thoroughly review the evidence in hopes of a more favorable outcome. The attorney required $3500 more in order to move on to circuit court. We had to borrow the money from his mother because at this point we were swimming in debt from the first $3500 and from some medical bills I had on top of already existing debt.
the attorney has filed motions to suppress and tried to disqualify the troopers as witnesses. Those attempts were unsuccessful and it is to the point where a trial date has been set for July 1st, but in order to go to trial we have to pay the attorney $5000.
We don’t have the money. Period. But my husband has it in his mind that we can come up with it. I don’t see how. And in my opinion, I don’t think he will win this case. I think the accident makes this case really hard to defend.
Trooper b told my husband that he was boarder line as far as the fst goes but I think that his accident along with the bac makes this case hard to defend.
In addition to not really being able to afford the attorney, we have a 5 month old. I stay with our son while he’s at work and vice versa. It scares me that he is taking the chance of having really any outcome if he doesn’t take the deal. It’s hard for him to get his head around having a dui on his record because he was a l.e.o. But is he being silly in trying to fight this case.
I’ve been so supportive of him, but I can’t help but feel like he isn’t considering me and his son in this choice. What’s everyone’s thoughts? Feel free to ask questions as I’m sure I’ve left some stuff out.

Back in October of last year I was in an auto accident yes nothing too crazy but it gets kinda funky. At the time I was about 3 almost 4 months into the job I was on my way to work at the time I was driving maybe 4 hours out of the 9 hours everyday 7 days a week I had also drove larger vehicles commercially why do I mention any of that? It is to explain my competency, I am younger above 18 not above 21 I have a sharp mind and not to mention I am a great driver. Anyway I was ON MY WAY TO WORK NOT AT WORK when I come upon a intersection on a road I take everyday to go TO WORK speed limit is 25mph I was traveling just about that maybe a little under cause people pull out like crazy there I come upon the intersection while the light is GREEN NOT YELLOW NOT RED NOT PURPLE NOT BLUE…GREEN as I come upon the intersection just before I enter the light turns yellow not a problem correct? I was maybe 35% through the intersection when I see a vehicle approaching out of my right peripheral this vehicle did not slow did not stop proceeded towards the intersection on a road that intercepts the one I’m on they where 100% exceeding the speed limit my guess was 40mph 10-15 mph over the limit 45% of the way through I was struck in the 3oclock position in other words my passenger front fender and the beginning of my passenger door…considered a tbone everything from the right side of my vehicle shifted left I DID NOT HIT THEM THEY HIT ME. Here is where it gets real weird the person driving was not who they said was driving not the biggest problem im looking at.i was found at fault for the accident and where’s the funny stuff my insurance CLAIMED I had no insurance during the accident! Be serious with me so I took up a driving job just to drive without insurance that’s just asking for trouble now I get how people can be in todays world but believe me or not I was paying this insurance company 400 dollars on a 25 year old car that has 145hp! Seems like a lot of money for that type of car yes I was never in any previous accidents it’s just cause I’m younger but I had no issues paying that 400 as long I was insured and safe to drive I have bank statements to prove it. A couple days to maybe a week after the accident my father called to have me taken off the insurance due to the fact that it was 700 dollars after the accident for just me! And the operator said exactly “I will make it like he was never on it in the first place” ducking insane when my dad told me he said that I couldn’t believe it and I think that’s where this whole problem came from. I am dead broke and keep getting calls from a law from that deals with collections from accidents claiming I owe money that’s in the double digits I am dead broke now I have no job and I’m trying to join the military and this randomly pops up I cannot join until it’s resolved I have no money for a good lawyer and I am asking for anyone’s input on the matter and asking for direction. Back in a month of last year I was in an auto accident while TRAVELING TO WORK. I had taken a delivery job for a company I will not say but at the time of the accident I had already been working there for 3 months almost 4, I would drive maybe 4 hours total in the 9 hours I was there so I was frequently on the road. I did that 7 days a week for 3 almost 4 months you might be wondering why I mentioned that it’s to explain I am a experienced driver that also doesn’t mention my driving before that job including large commercial vehicles. I will go over the accident to the best of my recollection, I had taken a road i drive almost everyday cause it’s easy and the fastest route TOO AND FROM WORK I came upon an intersection that intercepts a one way street the one I am on is two lanes one going one and the other opposing my lane, the light had turned from GREEN to YELLOW as soon as I reached the intersection I was about exactly halfway through the intersection when I see something in my right peripheral I was traveling at a slower rate of speed per the speed limit of 25mph even then I had no time to try and avoid being hit I hit my brakes and I was hit at 2 o clock maybe 3 o’clock I will attach a picture and video below on my right passenger fender my vehicle continued to move during the accident causing my vehicle to rub against the other vehicle causing my damage to my passenger side door. Now here is where the issue falls… I was found at fault although it wasn’t my vehicle nor footage from surrounding stores took one look at the opposing vehicle and marked it my fault it gets even worse my insurance company claims that I HAD NO INSURANCE AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT which isn’t true of course why would I take up a driving job with no insurance? That’s just asking for trouble… what I think might’ve happened was because my father had called to take me off the insurance which was a couple days to a week after the accident and the claim the operator with this insurance company said “I will make it like he was never on it in the first place” that was insane to me when my dad told me that I figured it would have caused problems and it did. But can any LAWYERS OR PEOPLE WITH ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE point me where I should go with this thank you for your time advice is very appreciated. Forgot this group doesn’t allow pictures…

I just got the trial late last week and have put a lot of miles on FSD in heavy traffic on very large roads and a bit on unmarked surface streets. My biggest issue by far is the car failing to change lanes. I don't know if this is a general issue or maybe only for some of the fleet (I the Intel Atom MCU, maybe the AMD ones are better?). I hear that the FSD version on interstates is different from the one on surface streets, so maybe that's it (most of my data is from interstates or major highways)?
The weirdest part about this issue is that sometimes it is perfect: blinker goes on, about a second later it starts changing lanes and within 5 seconds of the blinker going on, the lane change is complete. However, this is the exception, not the norm. Again, maybe this an issue with it using the older v11 FSD on interstates?
Usually, it turns on the blinker and just doesn't change lanes for several seconds, then it either just gives up or takes WAY too long to change lanes; an amount of time that I would interpret as malice if I was behind someone taking that long to clear the lane. This is with a wide open adjacent lane. This causes knock-on complications where the car is approaching a much slower vehicle and is changing lanes to pass, but it takes so long to do the lange change that it hard-decelerates and cancels the lane change. I've had this issue with automatic lane changes and manually triggered ones, both to wide open lanes and where it has to try and squeeze in.
A related issue occurs on my normal commute; the car tries to take the northbound onramp instead of waiting for the southbound one at a normal clover. If I disengage and turn FSD back on after the incorrect on-ramp is passed, it fails to change lanes in time to take the southbound on-ramp, even when there are no merging cars. If I manually get past that point and turn on FSD, it fails to change lanes to merge and just stays to the right and takes the off ramp.
A few far less serious issues are:

• Automatic wiper false positives had all but gone away in 2023, but they came back in 2024 and with 2024.14 they are even worse. It wouldn't be so bad if I could turn off automatic wipers and not have the car turn them back on multiple times per drive.
• It doesn't continue accelerating to reach my set speed. I do like that I can press the accelerator to manually speed up while keeping FSD engaged though.
• On unmarked surface streets, it sometimes cuts corners during turns, trying to drive through the grass on right turns and trying to clip cars waiting at stop signs when turning left. Not all the time, but maybe half the time.
• The dog house for driving too fast has no grace. If you hit 85.1mph in an 80mph zone trying to goose it past a truck to change lanes, you instantly get kicked out of FSD for the rest of the drive. If you disengage FSD first, no issue. Why not give me a grace period of a second or two to disengage to prevent the dog house?
• I super hate that FSD is one pull only and there is no option for just cruise control, especially when the car is trying to get me killed with the incompetent lane changes on some very cut-throat roads.

A few pleasant surprises:

• It handles pedestrians, animals, and bikers on surface streets extremely well.
• If I manually turn on my blinker to turn into the employee lot at work, it will do so and seems like it is almost going to find a spot before giving up.
• If I turn on FSD while in the parking lot, it will find its way out and go all the way home.
• It auto-routed around two major accidents and I just kinda trusted it and it very much felt like my own personal black cab with inside knowledge of the area to get around the issue. Somehow much more so than if Google maps had told me to do this.

Hey - so, I've getting robbed on my auto insurance policy... I was okay with this for a while because the service and support were top notch, and the last thing I want to deal with after an accident is wondering whether I'll be covered... But recently, service and support have been declining, and I don't want to wait until I have an accident to find out how bad the service has really gotten...
The other factor is that we have our home owners' insurance bundled with the auto policy... Normally, I wouldn't be too concerned about this, but I live in a rural area where it can be hard to get and keep an HOI policy. We've been dropped a couple of times over the last 20 years... Once after a series of expensive repairs that were covered, and again when our provider claimed to be leaving the market.
We've been with our current provider for several years now and it's been fine... But the auto portion of the policy is incredibly expensive for two middle aged adults with no accidents and no points, and it chaps my ass whenever I have to send them all this money twice a year. So, I'd like to look at other options, but I don't want to risk losing my HOI policy as a result of doing so.
For anyone who knows any of the inside baseball on this subject, is there a risk that my HOI policy might be dropped if I drop the auto policy? Or am I overthinking this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Last year my bf was in an accident with his bike. After loosing it to insurance because they totaled it out he got another one. It went into my name cause my credit was better. I didn’t want the new bike in my name. The last one was in my name. A few months later he decided to buy another bike and this one went into his name. I told him then I wanted his black one out of my name. He said next year around tax time so I said okay. Fast forward to tax time and it’s still in my name with a million excuses as to why he can’t get it in his name. A couple of months later he is still making me out to be in the wrong for it and says I’m helping your credit aren’t you making the payments on time. Payments are auto withdraw so nothing is missed. I told him his bike makes my credit back because of to much credit out. The lease is coming up on my truck and I need his bike out of my name. I told him this repeatedly and he keeps saying it’s my fault for having a lease vehicle and amount other things. Our relationship has been nothing but me helping him and him not helping me. Am I the asshole for wanting him to get his bike out of my name? Side note he complains about money being tight and when I remind him he can save $300 a month by getting it into his name he shuts the conversation down. Edit: the bike was initially put in my name because of the states laws being newly divorced. The law is the ex spouse has the right to take any newly acquired asset for up to 6 months after the divorce. UPDATE: bike conversation mentioned again. Again another fight to with him on the phone I posted the bike up for sale on fb marketplace. He doesn’t even know it’s up for sale.

I became a mama in 2020 to a beautiful baby girl, I was healthy as could be, had a strange pregnancy with a lot of unexplained pre term labor starting at 20 weeks. I ended up delivering my daughter October 2020 with a typical delivery. It wasn't until November 2021, one month after weaning my daughter, I started having the strangest and most painful symptoms I had ever experienced. I ignored them for moths until it was undeniable that something was wrong. We searched and searched and I finally found an amazing GI doc who found that scar tissue had kinked my colon and all my small intestines to the right side of my body. Great! He fixed that but 3 weeks later I started on the downward spiral again. Luckily, this was one very special doctor who could put his pride aside and to my dismay he said, "This is now beyond my capabilities and we need to call the surgeon." He did, right there with me in his office, called the surgeons cell phone ad they got me scheduled for an MRI.
We got the MRI done, a week later the surgeon called my cell phone, personally. When he said his name I knew it wasn't good. I had my daughter with me and I had never felt my heart sink so far into my stomach. He told me I had Nutcracker Syndrome, he explained it, I said great now can you fix it? He told me nope, best of luck and that was that. We saw countless handfuls of kidney Dr's who said "sorry that's a mechanical issue, I can't help you or gaslit me to no end. So, if you're wondering if I'm versed in medical gaslighting, YES I am.
It was actually after a desperate plea on Instagram begging someone to help me, a Dr referral, anyone who knew anyone with what I had and it was a friend's wife who connected me with the mother of another NCS patient who directed me to the transplant surgeon I needed to call and make an appointment NOW. That woman saved my life, I will never be able to repay what she did for me. I called Dr. Z, got on his books but the appointment was 10 months away and I was tanking fast.
I ended up with an NG, an NJ, and then eventually they just went straight to the J tube (I had two!). Every tube I had got messed up from vomiting so they constantly had to be repositioned and if you've had a feeding tube you know how fun that is! UGH! I even popped a hole in my J tube, not even sure how that happened! I couldn't use my feeding tubes either, I could do about 5-20 minutes of feeds at a time with hours in-between due to how painful it was, they still never figured that out so I just starved to death while waiting 10 months to see Dr. Z, my surgeon. In total, I didn't eat for 1.5 years and vomited close to 20 times a day, a vomit that was unlike any vomit I've ever experienced. I thought I was about to die every time I threw up. I was also chronically extremely constipated, my entire intestinal system shut down.
I finally got to Dr. Z weighing under 90 lb at the height of 5' 7", I was on the brink and he knew it. He rushed things along very quickly. I was not going to make it much longer and all the while raising a toddler, and if you ask me how I did it, I'd have to tell you it's that "mom strength" they refer to. I would lock onto that little girls face and fight every day to stay alive to watch her grow, daughters ALWAYS need their mothers.
Dr. Z operated on me May 5, 2023 doing a left renal auto transplant so he took my kidney out, moved it down into my pelvis then reattached to my aorta, he also found Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome while in there and did a duodenojejunostomy to attach my small intestines straight to my stomach since my duodenum had completely crushed which explained not being able to eat and the reason for the malnutrition and starvation, and last but not least he did as much glue removal as my body could handle after all of that at ONCE. My organs were all glued together in different places hence everything else shutting down. I exited that surgery feeling like I got ran over 20 times by a MAC truck.
I recovered slowly from that surgery and approximately 5 months later I started feeling Nutcracker symptoms, AGAIN, I convinced myself it was PTSD and that I was just so deeply traumatized by the NCS that I was imagining things... Until it started to get so painful again that I had to bring it up once I started to feel the Pelvic Congestive Syndrome, again.
First, I saw a obgyn who confirmed the PCS. My heart sank, I knew right then and there that the Nutcracker was back but I was too afraid to say it out loud or believe it. I was referred to a vein specialist who sent me in for a Venogram. He, too, called me personally. He confirmed the PCS and told me I had Nutcracker, again, but with the inferior mesenteric artery crushing my renal vein.
November 28, 2023 I had to have my left kidney, left ovary, and left fallopian tube removed along with MORE glue removal. My heart was broken, the MAJOR surgery that I thought was going to give my daughter her mother back, failed. I felt like a failure, like it was my fault it failed.
I have since been diagnosed with MCAS, Dysautonomia, Ehler Danlos Syndrome, Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia, POTS, Gastroparesis, Ischemic bowel and colon, and last but not least my last remaining kidney is failing and only has 5-10 years left on it before needing a transplant.
So, I am here to share my experience, give any advice I can, and to not let you feel alone. We CAN do this alone but we shouldn't HAVE to!! If you're a chronically ill mama, you have found your tribe here!
