I do tend to get a bit of gear fear, but my way around it is to just use easily replaceable gear. I end up having a lot more fun as I still do well, but don't get frustrated when I die.
My most common eco loadout is the m2 carbine (switch it to auto fire and it's basically a ridiculously accurate assault rifle) 2 bandages and a disinfectant. This way, I'm equipped to fight, and if I survive a gunfight with injuries I've got just enough to fully heal and hopefully find more in my fresh kill.
I also like the es17 every now and then (mostly just because I have so many). Not a fan of the Akm which I've seen recommended as the first blueprint you should focus on by some, it's too inaccurate for my tastes (admittedly better trigger discipline would probably get around this).
I've bought the plans for all the stuff I mentioned, each 75 to 100 (maybe 150?) crowns so it didn't take insanely long to get the crowns for them.

On my first playthrough on New Vegas (First time playing Fallout btw), I was heading to Novac from Nipton via the road up the hill for a quest, since I haven't discovered it yet.
In case you don't know, in the road between Nipton and Novac, you'll be ambushed by 2 enemies (Not sure who exactly attacked me. Didn't check their names) . I died 3 times in that path. The 1st time I gone through that path, I saw an oddly placed traffic cone on the ground. When I approached it, I realized what was inside the cone. A hidden landmine. Before I knew it... all hell breaks loose. Bombs exploding, bullets fired, smoke on my eyes. It happened so quick, I didn't have time to process it. I didn't even know where they are attacking. Next thing I knew, I'm dead.
Fueled by vengeance, I quickly head there again for the 2nd time. This time, discreetly. I carefully navigate around the debris on the road, trying to figure where they are hiding. I saw the traffic cone once again. I slowly walked up to the cone, waiting for the attackers to pop their heads out. As the cone stands before me... A bullet was fired... I looked where it came from... I see 2 figures up in high ground... 2 wastelanders... Found them. Unfortunately I don't know WHAT my dumbass was thinking but for some reason, I decided that knowing where those 2 are, with a lot of weapons in my arsenal, I decided to try to run away. It was not a good idea as the attackers decided to melee me, adding more salt to the wound. My body laid in the ground, torned up.
But now that I know their attack position, I decided to head to the road for the 3rd time. This time, instead of taking the direct road, I walked up the hill next to the road. I was being stealthy, trying to do my own sneak attack. As I'm loading up my Sturdy Caravan Shotgun™, it was a matter of time before we face eachother. There... I see them... hiding... preparing to ambush anyone, not knowing who is behind them... Gotcha! The fight commences. I immediately focus all my firepower on the first attacker. Bang! Bang! Reload, Bang! Bang! Reload. She did some good damage on me but it didn't matter, for I plummet her with my 20 gauge. She's dead. Now I turn over to the 2nd attacker. As I reload, I had a realization...
I FORGOT TO STOCK UP ON AMMO AND STIMPAKS!. How can I be so stupid? I was so focus on getting my revenge, I didn't even think to restock. Now with an empty double-barrel and 75 health, I thought I was done for. The attacker spray fire me will his trusty pistol. I'm doomed. No ammo for the 9mm and 10mm pistols and I shouldn't use my grenade rifle because I was near him and it could kill me via splash damage. I really thought all hope was lost... But then... I remember!

To find Cassie's location you need to talk to The Snitch. Once you talk to him, Cassie will appear on the map as a shopping cart icon. My site has a map with more than 30 snitch locations you can check, he has a pretty high spawn rate. The bounty he gives you is not required to browse Cassie's stock, you can do it or save it for later in the bounties section of the map.

I recently had the opportunity to use the Pro Single-Pin Slider Direct-Mount Sight Black 1-Pin 0.19, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. The sight's single 0.19 inch vertical pin and 1.8 inch aperture provide a clear and clean sight picture, which became particularly valuable when taking longer shots in open country.
One of the most impressive features was the integrated glow ring and the REVOLVE rotary sight light, ensuring low-light conditions never posed an issue. Additionally, the sight's dual yardage pointers, end-of-travel elevation stops, and fixed bracket with 3 potential mounting positions allowed for seamless adjustments even while moving.
I also appreciated the sight's ease of use and convenience, such as the second- and third-axis aperture adjustments and the left- and right-handed configuration options. Moreover, with 120 pre-marked sight tapes included, I felt that I had a solid setup for lethal, accurate shots throughout the season.
While I enjoyed the sight's features, there was one downside: the direct-drive elevation wheel's one-handed operation wasn't entirely smooth and silent as advertised, making it slightly challenging to use on the move. Nevertheless, the Pro Single-Pin Slider Direct-Mount Sight Black 1-Pin 0.19 has undeniably made a difference in my archery experience.

I recently had the chance to give the HHA Optimizer Lite sight. 019 a try, and let me just say, I was very impressed. The micro-adjust windage system made sighting in a breeze, and I appreciated the included yardage dial.
One feature that really stood out to me was the mechanical rheostat for pin brightness adjustment. It allowed me to easily fine-tune the pin brightness, which is a game-changer for those shooting in low-light conditions.
As for the cons, I did find the mounting process a bit challenging and the detachable bracket was not included. Additionally, while the sight is well-built, it is a bit on the heavier side, which I noticed when shooting for extended periods.
Overall, the HHA Optimizer Lite. 019 sight is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, easy-to-use sight for their bow. Just make sure you're prepared for a bit of a learning curve when it comes to mounting it onto your bow.

As an avid bow hunter, the ruggedness and durability of this adjustable sight stood out to me right away. The HRD technology ensures zero slop, buzz, or unnecessary maintenance, making it incredibly reliable and well-engineered for all conditions.
One feature that really caught my attention was the adjustability and accuracy capabilities that Spot-Hogg is known for.
