Hi all, I started to play chess last year, now I'm rated 1300 rapid on chess.com tho these last couple of months I've started playing OTB with unexpectedly good results against strong opposition.
Yesterday I've had this game OTB against an almost 1800 rated player (I was black):

I had a good advantage out of the middle game and I was overall happy with my game, I think I had some good ideas and such. Thing is OTB is very different than online playing since online such a game would be easily won after the middle game, while OTB you fight for 2 and a half hours only to reach a position where things are unclear.
I eventually blundered my advantage and a drawn endgame after 3 hours of playing, and it was the most crushing feeling.
Is there a way to actually get better at this kind of stuff?

Last year I (30f) reconnected with an old friend (INFJ 30m) who I havent seen since we were teens and we instantly felt close, we have the same core values, same thought patterns, went thru the same struggles.
We spend a lot of time together, text all day, share daily photos of interesting stuff, play games together, watch stuff etc. so we both call each other best friends/twins. He did/said things that made me feel appreciated like saying i'm the only one they can speak to "this way" (as in have deep convos about feelings n such) or sharing snacks with me.
I'm aware of something i always do and that's feeling these 'friend crushes' on people i feel the closest to me, but I'm realizing this feels stronger than my usual. And it sometimes feels like he feels the same.
I have a hard time being honest about my own needs so I can't tell people "I miss you" or "i feel lonely, let's hang" bc I feel that'd be selfish and imposing of me. That backfires often and I suffer in silence hoping the other picks up on it, I've worded things poorly(letting anger fuel it) and that just embarassed me more.
I'll say all i think about is him but it doesn't go beyond wanting to hang out, maybe hug more. I'm also not that into sex in general, may be a mental thing idk. This person feels very important to me so my fear of abandonment kicks in when i see small changes in behavior and it's driving me nuts tbh.

So long story short... together almost 10 years no problems before like this. We've never done anything like this before together. My partner and i had a 3 way with someone we know. Our connection was through grief (my best friends widow/gf, he passed away a year before the encounter) we trauma bonded and we all agreed to try this with each other. Things did not go well, she reciprocated with my partner but not fully as discussed and then pulled back after and said they specifically said they weren't really into that. We triple checked everything in texts back and forth and that was not what they said to us. Leaving my partner unfulfilled and hurt. During the year after that talk about our encounter became a regular thing. Despite both of us at separate times telling each other we should stop that kind of talk. It didn't happen and we both kept doing it. We don't see each other much on a daily as we live the high five life because of family. I have a problem with hypersexuality and one day got drunk and asked if it was OK to have relations with that person again. My partner has had reservations about this person the entire time. I ignored that and my partner texted us both that it was fine and they would love for us to play. We did the deed and after I didn't pursue that person again. It was not a great encounter and very bad.... The other person asked again to do it and neither us responded about doing it again. A month later my partner asked to branch out and do things with other people. At first I said absolutely not and then later said it was fine but didn't want to know. This went back and forth in my head and after trying to get in my head and give the approval I just couldn't anymore and said I just can't. I tried so hard to give back what I've been given really I did. It seemed fair and deserving. My partner confronted me about having an affair with that person cause we would text alot (bs and nothing related to hooking up again) but we had a long discussion and I finally said that I couldn't go through with it cause during sex I would go there and imagine them with another person and would lose it. I have been in a ltr with my previous partner of 14 years with a couple of people that were a constant the entire time. My partner said they were jealous that I had that and because of our age difference I did have a while life before them with a spouse and kid.
But they said there was no one else and then a week later they came home late after we've been texting all night and I went to bed. I was in a bad place and hating myself and was reassured that I was perfect and exactly what they want and they don't want me to change and stop being who I am. I saw my partner in the shower because I woke up to use the restroom and they said hey baby. I felt the vibe and knew something was not right. I couldn't go to sleep so I left and went to work a few hours early.......I decided to be that person and look at phone and texts records on our account and saw there was almost 200 texts back and forth between them and another person in two days. I knew exactly who it was (the person before me) I confronted the same morning when they woke up to do the daily with our family. At first they denied then quickly admitted to cheating. I lost my shit at the betrayal and left work and power drank. It's been several months and we've talked about each other's side on shit about how we both felt and it's not easy at all. I left them feeling like they were not enough and I needed more. Hypersexuality is a problem for me. And my porn addiction hasn't gotten any better (worse). I feel totally betrayed and cannot believe at times most of what they say about the other person or even how much they love me and want to make this work. They are actively doing their best to show me. For lack of better words my partner wanted to get back at me and even the playing field. Alot of the time they are crying hating the person they became and talked shit about. We've had a few friends do this kind of shit. I'm trying to seek help for my shit but with our family lives I cannot get to a support group with family commitments. It's created a huge ripple in our lives and idk..... it's there anyone who's dealt with this kind of thing? Yes I am prepared for the comments and fully accept responsibility for my actions. This is/ was until recently the longest I've ever been with someone and only one person so I am new to monogamy and totally shat on it. My partner has never had a real relationship before either. We've been talking non stop and are opening up to each other about things we've not discussed like personal depression and anxiety. I'm trying and they're trying but it's the downward out of control moments when it's really hard.

Two days in and I’m yet to win a set let alone a game. I’m only level 3 but I’m playing the tournament and every person I’m playing has like three times my stats and I have literally no chance, why am I not playing people that are more my level? Is there a mode I’m missing where I can actually play people with similar stats to me so I have a chance?

Hi, I'm Sam and I've been playing wmmt6rr for almost 5 months. I use a BNR32(My main)/GTR50/AE86(All 3 full tune) and I have around 600 ghost battle wins and 300 versus battle on my main and almost 100 Ghost battles on my other 2 with a few versus battle wins. The problem that I have encountered is being way too addicted to it which means that I go to arcades way too much. It got to the point where I would wake up and arrive to the arcade before it even opens. I usually play around 6-20 rounds a day which is not alot without including the other arcade games I play (Maimai,Taiko no Tatsujin and Initial D arcade) and pretty much been spending over RM300 a week.i've tried trying to stop by playing PC games but it only work for a day or 2.If possible anyone able to give me some tips and advice on How to stop myself from spending too much 🥲

Hello! I used to play lol back in the beta and up to season 3. Back in these days runes and glyphs etc was a thing and everyone spent their IP on runes. Now, i understand that the runes were removed. Were those of us who had a lot of them given our IP back?
Also, i’m wondering, do you have to set up runes now or is it allready done for you if you pick a set runepage of let’s say ”domination”? Do i have to mess around with runes again and have i been missing out for playing my games without?

This will be sort of a short guide for new players trying to improve themselves. Of course, since the game is still a PS5 exclusive as of the writing of this post, no official datamine has been done, so things I say here might not be entirely correct. What I write here is based on my own experience from playing the game (150 hours for now, beating Midnight and currently at level 100). I encourage other players to contribute their experience.
Counter Spark (will be abbreviated as CS onward) is the game main combat mechanic. As the basic level, it's an attack (well, most CS are attack, there's some special cases where it is a parry stance, e.g. Hayabusa-ryu CS). Unlike other games that focus on parry mechanic (Sekiro, Wolong, etc…), the CS in RotR is quite difficult to master mainly because of 2 reasons: It being an attack makes it very unsafe if you fail, and each style got its own CS with its own property, making the learning process even more difficult. I see many people in the past claim that the timing of CS is inconsistent, or straight out bug, but I presume they have not fully understood how CS work. CS works by clashing its hitbox into the enemy's attack hitbox. For a successful CS to happen, you have to consider the hitbox shape, size, active frame of both your CS and the enemy's attack. Sometimes, you also have to take into account the distance between you and the enemies, as being further would mean the enemy's hitbox would take a few frame longer to reach you.
On the enemy side, specifically their martial art attacks (the red attack), the hitbox would form after the white flash, so in general, don't press your button before seeing that white flash. As for their normal attack, you have no way but to learn their attack pattern and timing. The best way to learn enemy’s attack is to use a style with “easy to execute” CS. A CS easy to use would be CS that has large frontal hitbox (so enemy’s attack will clash into your hitbox easier), and the most important part is that it has long active frame. CS with long active frame usually share 1 common feature: it has 2 slashes instead of 1 slash, some examples: Tatsumi-ryu and Mugai-ryu for Katana, or Niten Ichi-ryu for Paired sword. With how long these CS are, you can press button either on reaction or even a bit early and will still get a successful CS. After you nail down the enemy pattern, you can start changing to a style with harder CS and learn more precise timing. So, just hit the dojo and test out the CS of your weapon of choice.
However, sometimes, you’ll encounter some weird attacks that even using easy CS still won’t net you a successful counter consistently. I hypothesize that these attack have pretty odd (most often extremely vertical hitbox) that hit you at area where your CS does not cover. Fortunately, these attacks are most often on the slower side, so if you have a hard time against those, either take a step back to reposition your CS hitbox, or JUMP and perform an aerial CS. Aerial CS can hit many attacks that normally very annoying to ground CS.

Hey everyone, amidst the thousands of rants, in light of Nick's movement, I think it's time for me to say something, maybe no one cares, I don't have a major platform to get my word out, but I still think that it's good to get these things out here and perhaps the best thing all of this can do is change the way we perceive the game as a player base. This will be long, so those of you willing to, bear with me.
Let me tell you something from a point of view of someone who loved the game for a long time. We're a bunch of very versatile people from all over the place and maybe it can also teach us a lesson or two. On one hand, you have kids who play it for the same reason I played it some good 15 years ago, and you've got us, the older players, who loved the game for what it was growing up because it was the best football themed game out there in many aspects, although FIFA entries weren't the only good thing about that era (shoutout to PES 2006 and 2010). It's a game that I used to enjoy because I love football as a sport, I used to play it basically on a professional level, this is the best "active" form for me to engage with the game. I'm probably too stupid for Football Manager though I believe it's only a matter of watchin a few videos to get into it and understand the in-depth mechanics. I always tried playing it and got lost in the menus within 5 minutes. But for what it's worth, I understood FIFA, I understood FUT and the shell of what it once was, the grind was fun to me, using players from past and present that I like, well, until it all got burned to the fucking ground within a year. I was never an Elite div or Rank 1 or even Rank 2 player. But I had certain results, I would get 9 to 11 wins most of the time and with enough free time I could always climb to atleast div 2 in Rivals. Sure, many of you are better and I realize that, but it's not about that. To me it was always about getting better at the game for myself, on my own terms, there would be some progression to it and getting better throughout the years always made me happy. Adult life is adult life and it's very individual, some of us have more free time on our hands, others don't. In my case, I barely have time to do my daily play matches, some SBCs and play Champs on the weekend because of work.
But the question is - how can I consistently enjoy the game if:

• a) every single thing and tactic that I figure out, gets nerfed within a few months - and I'm not talking about ratty shit, I'm talking things like finesse shots, trivelas, some useful passes, just gameplay stuff
  
• b) they don't do shit to fix broken things in-game, like OP cutbacks, I came to peace with them, but still, it's too OP, or doing things to somehow nerf or balance situations when people pass between the GK and CB from the 70th minute onwards. Idk how many of you were around when they banned Kurt, but they pulled up a whole statement about policies regarding in-game toxicity for building towards a fun experience for everyone, yet they don't do shit with the game itself.
  
• c) the game itself wants you to feel bad about your gameplay and even tries to pass off DDA as skill issue. Of course, at times it really comes down to your skills, but how often do you hear the commentators praise you? At times even when you're leading, they keep repeating how it's a matter of time until you concede an equalizer. You know those graphics on the pitch itself? The win probability stuff. It shows up only when you're losing, even if you are let's say one goal behind and it's the 65th minute, they'll show you a whole statistic all over the fucking pitch, telling you that you have a 2% chance to win the game. To demoralize you. To make you feel like you need to keep upgrading and upgrading and upgrading and once you run out of fodder and luck, to go dump your money into store packs. And even that doesn't help you, the pack weight is shit, you just get quick fodder for unreasonable money, and the theories that spending money on the game improves your gameplay, it's all bogus. To put it simple, if you achieve something, you will not see anything positive. No congratulations screen, just infographics, but when you do something bad, God forbid, you will get fact-bombed about how shit you are. From a psychological point of view, this game is toxic to it's core and it's very, very, very unhealthy for one's mental health. If you're an adult, trying to relax after tons of stressful shit in your daily life, this is not the place for proverbial relaxation. If you're a kid who's going through your teen years, those years are stressful for many reasons and once again, this cannot possibly help you. I hold no grudge towards many players as I am aware that many players are very young (less than 18) and perhaps that generation is simply like that and there's nothing we can do about it. I'm talking only about FUT, I believe that Pro Clubs are probably way more lighthearted and fun and I treat Career Mode which has been abandoned, as a separate game basically.
  
• d) Obvious gambling issues. Enough has been said. I am one of the minority in thinking that there is nothing wrong with buying a pack here or there if you're an adult and if it doesn't impact serious aspects of your life. If you earn money, it's entirely up to you how you spend it. Some people like fine dining and dump money on food. Some people collect stuff and dump money on collectibles. Some people overspend to impress their s/o. So, in theory, there is nothing wrong with spending money on or within a game as a concept. But what is wrong is how it works in this game in particular. You get new packs over and over again, the store is full of things to spend money on, but the core game itself is neglected gameplay-wise. Content is okay, SBCs are okay, with exchanges and stuff, it's really good actually. I am one of those who actually enjoy both the menus and the gameplay itself, equally. All of it is a part of the experience. But you have really bad things going on with your games and the only thing that you do as a dev is dump packs? And even those packs, the pack weight is absolute shit, it's turned into a casino, a slot machine, because it's all rigged towards you ending on a loss, thus having the psychological effect of you not getting your dopamine shot of packing something nice, often you're not in a situation to buy another one, so this will linger in the back of your head, that you didn't complete the process and you need to see if next time you'll finally get something good. Or, you bought it with coins and now you lost a good amount of coins, so you think of buying the next one with FP, or even worse, you can afford it and you just successfully gave them twice the intended amount of money. This is a serious, self-destructive behavioral pattern, take it from someone who has some education in a field very close to all of that. Teach children that and you can legitimately ruin their lives. Say, if you knew what you're getting, exactly what, or atleast if you knew that there is a smaller pool of what you can pack, or guaranteed something for a symbolic amount of money, I'd say it is what it is, since we truly do live in an era full of microtransactions and that's just something that's a part of online gaming nowadays. The bad part is overspending on something that will just not reward you anyhow or grant you any sort of benefit. Even games with battle passes have better options in this regard. You're getting better progression in exchange for a symbolic amount of money.
  
• e) The game itself doesn't work properly! You're getting DNFs left and right, you can't even navigate through SBCs and your club without the game freezing multiple times. EA keeps fucking up with "unintended rewards" first it was Messi, I did the SBC, got nothing, life goes on. Several times I had issues where objectives didn't count, whatever, life goes on, it's a game. Or some rewards got bugged and fucked me over multiple times, whatever, life goes on. This most recent L1 red pick stuff, that was honestly the last straw, not even the fact that I didn't get them simply because I have a life and don't camp in front of my console each Friday to sweat my ass off for the very start of the Champs Finals, but because they finally spilled the beans, told us we were never supposed to get good cards out of it with a decent percentage and on top of that, they ruined the small amount of fun I had playing with Paletools between meetings at work (by that I mean killing the droprate and nerfing pack weight).
  

The whole situation is very stupid, because there is no viable alternative in terms of football games, and frankly, playing FIFA is a habit and something I've been doing for one half of my life. It's tough for me to get invested into an online competitive game, though I used to play League, Overwatch, stuff like that, but those games became shit over the years as well. That's why, though I'm only one of way too many, from my point of view, my actions bear some value, because as of today, I just don't want to feel like shit because of a game anymore atleast on a weekly basis. As things stand, dumping my time into this game is simply pointless. If I want to play Weekend League, I'll get shat on by the servers, or the gameplay will be horrendous and my cards will feel like freezers getting dragged across the pitch by a rope. Cards with great finishing, will feel like bronze cards, whatever. We're not supposed to get good rewards, and the game will call us out for being "bad" when we get DDAd. At this point, there is nothing positive about it. I will perhaps return for Futties, not that anyone cares, but building fun cards is kinda fun and good, so I'm looking forward to that. Otherwise, I will return only if all of this actually changes something. If the assholes from EA release a statement and actually change something, then I will return earlier, and even then, I'm not giving them a single euro this year. And maybe, for the first time in way too many years, I won't even preorder, maybe I'll play it later on, if it turns out to be better and different. Other than that... there's no point playing if the game is like this. I'm done with feeling negative emotions because of a game designed to gaslight and manipulate us into feeling like shit.

My gf and i have been together for 5 months and things are pretty rocky right now. Especially now actually, because she said she wanted to go on a break until she returns from her trip in 2.5 weeks. The reason is because I did not blow up her phone at 12 AM last night saying happy birthday or say happy birthday to her in the early morning. Keep in mind this week I have finals and as an engineering major I have to make sure i focus really hard and pass my courses. Instead I said happy birthday at 2 PM (her time 4PM), when i woke up from a late night study sesh. She then texted me saying she was really really upset and that my effort did not match her idea of effort.
The kicker is because she left on her trip on Saturday, I celebrated her birthday with her on friday. I bought her a birthday tiara, then a gift she said she wanted from her “list” and set up a whole surprise thingy from my trunk with lots of balloons and decorations and some flowers. I tried my best because money for me is really tight right now. But I spent 1 week doing all that, and it was a lot of effort from me. I also brought her out to eat and had a outing with her. And as someone who never celebrated my birthday, i didn’t know what to put together and it was really out of my comfort zone but i really enjoyed putting it together and i thought she would really like it!
But apparently that was not good enough. Today she said to me she wished i put a note inside or made it more sentimental since i couldn’t afford what she really wanted. She said what she really wanted wasn’t what she mentioned in her “list” but something else. To put it simply, she thinks my gift was not birthday worthy because what i gave her was a regular gift you give when you think of someone when you’re out and about. Essentially this girl expects me to read her mind or in between the lines. But unfortunately i am not a psychic. There’s just so many rules to this relationship.
In addition to that she compared me to her friends and all the things they’ve done for her on her birthday, like order food to her hotel or spam her phone at 12 AM. Or someone who drove 3 hours to see her where she is right now. I just think it’s so unfair how she expects me to do all these things and compares me to her friends. I’m trying my best. I also already celebrated your birthday 3 days ago!!! Especially since she said her love language is acts of service, I try my best to fulfill that! I didn’t know it was gift giving too!
I am really upset and just so exhausted with this relationship. It feels like nothing i can do will be good enough. And if i try to defend myself, she says I invalidate her feelings. I’m almost at the point where i won’t even defend myself and explain my side and feelings anymore because she will just say i am making it all about me and invalidating her feelings. So, where do i go from here?

So I've been playing FO4 & FO76 since they came out, despite the issues these games have given me I have always loved playing them. Recently after the next gen update (mind you I've had to recently factory reset my computer because I been having random freezing issues I can't seem to diagnose) I have not been able to get ANY sort of FPS over 40 or so when playing in Windows Borderless mode.... I have a 4070 ti, i7-13700KF, 32 gb of ram, and the PC has run the game perfectly fine before the update. I had recently played vanilla while talking with a friend so I didn't have any mods installed before the next gen update and it ran as expected.
I have played both of these games on windows borderless for years and both of these games have run perfectly as far as FPS is concerned. I already know that I can switch to Fullscreen, and it runs at 60 like it never had an issue in the first place. This is a bit frustrating considering I'm almost always doing something else or watching something while I'm gaming so I alt+tab quite a bit and on FS, my second monitor flickers every time I close the game lol. Makes my heart drop every single time.
Basically I'm asking if anyone has found a solution that works? I remember people in the past changing the ini files but I've seen numerous people say none of that works since the next gen update. As much as I love these games, I do not want to play fullscreen at all, windows borderless or bust for me. I mentioned FO76 since I recently tried to play this and I got the exact same issue... it won't run above 40 on windows borderless but will run perfectly fine on fullscreen. Fallout is legit the only game I have this issue with now. Every other game I have runs fine.
It kind of makes me think something is physically wrong with my PC as to why these games are having these issues and if that's the case then it'll be a while before I can even attempt to get it fixed. Not being able to play one of my favorite games because of a silly messed up issue with the windows borderless function is unfortunate.

I wanted to play a few games today in the morning, where my Browser showed that the site can't be reached. After a few refresh I could login, even play a few games of Limbo.
Now I wanted to log in again, and the same happened, except when I tried www. handle, this message waited for me in short: the site was made to be inaccessible as data published via electronic communications networks, the order was issued due to finding an infringement in connection with some law.. (a few months ago, another sports betting site was closed down, but I am sure its only to monopolize it on the government owned site..)
I tried using virtual p netw, where the site loaded in, but I couldn't sign in with my details, nor the forgot details option sent me an email.
I reached out to Support through an email, asking if theres a way if I can keep on using the site or get my balance out... Just wanted to share :))

Picked the game up very briefly in 2017 and it didn’t click. Decided to try Arena with a friend last year and enjoyed the game mode a lot, specifically Jhin. I randomly decided to try some normal games this year, honing in on ADC, and was ranked eventually at Iron 3. I then got destroyed to Iron 4, and figured the game was trolling me with afks or bots. I tanked my Jhin win rate to like 20% lol. I got some great advice though, that really helped my mentality and pushed into Bronze 4 (the enemy gets bots too, just keep playing and stop dying). I must have played about 150 ranked games, playing Lucian, Jinx, Twisted Fate and Smolder (until those two were nerfed).
I eventually got a little frustrated at my skills again and tried jungle, which wasn’t terrible, I maintained 50% win rates on my champs after 30-40 games. But finally I decided after watching three youtubers (FxN Saber, Vapora Dark, and Doublelift) to try ADC again, playing Caitlin and Jhin. That really solidified and after 225 games have gotten all the way to Silver 4 before the end of the season. I’m really happy because my last push was after an unfortunate demotion to Bronze 2 50 LP and I proceeded to win my next 5-6 games in a row on Jhin and got me in right on the last day.
I had some friends who are Platinum-Emerald and been playing for 10+ years say they’d be surprised if I hit Silver and it was crazy hard but I finally got there. Just really hyped to have hit my goal and this new season I’m going to try for Gold 4.

Between the mechanical league skills, game knowledge, macro/micro, etc… learning this game when others have 10+ years experience is kind of crazy but it was super rewarding and lots of fun (except f%#! My boyfriend and I are both in our early twenties, and we've been together for almost a year now. Our relationship has always been incredibly special to me - we've built a strong foundation of trust, communication, and love. We've always been there for each other, respecting boundaries and caring deeply about one another's well-being.
Recently, a month ago, my boyfriend's mom passed away, leaving him with the profound loss of both his parents. It's been an incredibly tough time for him, and understandably, he's been struggling. I've been doing everything I can to support him through this heartbreaking time. Whether it's suggesting outings with his friends to distract him, or taking him out, cooking his favorite meals, or just being there to listen when he needs to talk, I've been trying my best to ensure he feels loved and cared for. Additionally, we both have similar work, so I help him out with his work stuff so he could slack off and do other things he likes doing, like playing video games.
However, amidst all of this, I've found myself feeling a bit forgotten. Our time together has decreased significantly, and the energy and passion in our conversations seem to have shifted. I understand that grief can be all-consuming, and I empathize with the immense pain he's going through. But despite knowing all of this logically, I can't shake this feeling of loneliness and disconnect.
It's not that I doubt his love for me - he's reassured me countless times that he loves me just as much as he always has. But it's hard not to feel like I'm drifting away from him, like I'm somehow slipping through the cracks of his grief. I miss the closeness we used to share, and it's been weighing heavily on my heart.
I'll give you an example. We don't live together, so whenever we meet, on our way back, he'd text me a lot of cute stuff, including how pretty I looked and how lucky he is to have me, and just stuff like that. And he has stopped doing that, and my mind can't help but overthink that something's wrong with our relationship or that he doesn't love me anymore.
To add to this, a recent incident really threw me off. My boyfriend cracked a joke, and I told him it was uncool and made me feel weird. He got mad at me and said he'd stop cracking jokes altogether. I feel like I can't say anything or do anything without walking on eggshells. We used to communicate openly about things, even the little stuff, and about my mental health. But now, he just makes me feel bad for expressing my emotions, and I can't help but feel like he resents me.
I want to support him through this challenging time, but I also don't want to neglect my own emotional needs in the process. I'm struggling to find the balance between being there for him and taking care of myself, and I'm not sure how to navigate this delicate situation without adding more stress to his already heavy load.
If any of you have been through similar experiences or have any advice on how to cope with these feelings of loneliness, disconnect, and walking on eggshells while supporting a grieving partner, I would deeply appreciate your insights.

I’m looking for games with good combat gameplay so would like any suggestions! Another thing that is optional but I might think about is that since I have a ps5 (although I only have 1-2 games here), I might want to try games that are either only on mac or better played on a computer than ps. I'm looking for a new monitor but don't know a whole lot about that... I have my new PC for almost like a year now (specs at the bottom) and I still play on a 1080p monitor.
I'd like to switch to a 1440p curved monitor with a high refresh rate (preferably 165 to 240Hz) and low input lag with decent image quality and it should also be possible to adjust the height and should also be able to mount it on a wall. (curved would be nice but not necessary)
I mostly play (competitive) FPS games like CS2, Valorant and Call of Duty. My budget is max. $350. What kind of tips or suggestions can you guys give me? I'm also interested in reading your guys experiences with different panel types as everyone has different opinions about them.

what i’m looking for: crafting, i love love love games with a billion things to craft especially when a lot of that is either asthetic or practical use stuff. ideally i would love a game with never ending things to craft that you had to figure out how to craft them.
and other then that: co op 100% i have the most fun when i can play w my bf and friends,
survivals i like open world survival crafts not bc u have to drink food or water but bc i like the aspect of having to make it on ur own and being thrust into a world where you have to adapt,
i love when you can build bases and make them really asthetic and spend hours building them,
and replayability is huge for me, the reason i loved minecraft and terraria outside of everything is how i could loose myself for so long in those games and not get bored which once you slay the gender dragon or the last boss it does kinda fizzle out
i want a game i can just literally play forever that never gets boring and there’s so much to do which is why i also like sandbox style games. people will hate on me for this but i often find games boring when i know there about to end or im running out of things to do, i usually quit a game right before it ends😭

The 1st thing that came to my mind during the first few minutes was…damn that’s how a movie with Alloy climbing the buildings with plants all over would look like! Those buildings in the movie with Noah and his friends jumping around brought me to when I played the game!

Before anyone asks, I did do MANY google searches and I searched this subreddit, but the most recent post about performance was from 6 months ago, and there were no solutions.
When I run around the island, my screen stutters SO bad. It's especially bad in town and around the beach. I fiddled with my graphics settings and it didn't seem like anything was working.
For reference, my husband is playing the game on his PC and isn't having this issue, and our PCs are identical (we build them together, so they both have the exact same specs). We're running with a Geforce RTX 2060 (6 GB) graphics card and Ryzen 5 3600. This is the only game I'm having a consistent issue with. I can run BG3 on the highest settings and get 65-99 FPS.
Just not sure what the issue is. Has ANYONE been able to find the cause of this?
