Before renaissance Europe is it safe to argue that it was Indian civilization that contributed the most to the field of mathematics?
Indians contributed to every field that existed at that time from Number theory, geometry, trigonometry, algebra, arithmetic, series, differential and integral calculus, combinatorics, magic squares, spherical trigonometry and many more and in non of these fields can we say that India lacked behind but this can be said for many other civilizations, some of these fields originated in India like differential calculus, combinatorics and many subfields within it
i) Babylonians did not have trigonometry, their geometry was basic and many of these field just about absent, they were however advance in arithmetic and algebra
ii) Greeks, supposedly invented trigonometry and also revolutionized geometry to an extent no other civilization could catch up but had terrible arithmetic, but had no notion of combinatorics, magic squares etc arithmetic was not good and furthermore algebra relied on ad hoc methods but diophantus is considered father of algebra inspite of that
iii) Egypt had more advanced geometry as compared to babylon but in other mathematical fields lagged behind but in arithmetic they made much better progress with fractions as compared to even greeks and chinese
iv) Chinese contributed in multiple fields like algebra, arithmetic and so on and inventing magic squares but fell significantly behind islamic world and india in the later field and trigonometric contributions were minor, they introduced tangent function but the rationale for it already existed in brahmagupta's shadow function which is ration of sine and cosine and the methods resonate aryabhata's difference method but their approach fraud and trigonometric second order schemes but this was not built upon and faded until contacts with europe and combinatorics contributions even fewer till european contacts same for spherical trigonometry
v) Islamic mathematicians well al khwarizmi is called father of algebra but undeservedly so as it was a retrogression to the work of brahmagupta and diophantus and it involves rules like reduction and restoration due to him refusing to accept negative numbers without which modern algebra is impossible and their contributions to algebra also lacks, combinatorics they are behind India in this field and also arithmetic their own originality lacks
But if we consider Indian civilization there is no lack in any field
Starting with some of the achievements is
Kuttaka- first general solution to linear determinate equations and so called chinese remainder problem which is equivalent to bachet's method, chinese general method came later
Bhavana- First algorithm for so called pell's equation also first studied in India
Chakravala- First general algorithm for pell's equation, used to solve so called Fermat's challenge 500 years before Fermat
Fermat factorization- One of biggest achievements in arithmetic, discovered by sripati, elaborated by narayana before fermat
Fibonacci sequence- Unique to Indian mathematics before europe, one of the biggest achievements in combinatorics
Pascal's triangle- Oldest evidence of this anywhere in the world is India and it was linked to combinatorics which appeared elsewhere much later
Sine, cosine, versine and inverse sine- Yes this appear in India for the first time, greeks did it in chord, Indians did it in half chord i.e. the sine and made it more effiecient
Projection of planar triangles for solution of spherical triangles- this approach is uniquely Indian and is simpler than using menelaus theorem or analemma and indians obtained general solutions using this approach another way of describing this is rule of three approach, which by itself is another indian discovery
In geometry there are a list of results I wish to list out - Brahmagupta's formula. brahmagupta's theorem, brahmagupta's trapezium, brahmagupta's quadrilateral, parameshvara's formula, third diagonal of cyclic quadrilateral(narayana's formula), nilakantha's chord formula and many more such results and this was the only work on euclidean geometry before renaissance again
Algebraic and algorithmic geometry- sulba sutras present many algorithms for construction of geometric figures due to which they discovered many new values for pi and these algorithms for construction don't occur in any other culture and another unique feature of Indian mathematics geometric representation of series which aryabhata refers to as piling and same definition used in china a 1000 years later and sripati, narayana, nilakantha all give methods to implement this, mahavira solves many problems in constructions using algebraic approach

En is a word that shows up everywhere in Elranonian. Based on a very small corpus, about every tenth Elranonian word is en. It is thus more frequent than the in English! But in fact, en is not one but at least two separate words, which both trace their origins to the same Old Elranonian demonstrative ein ‘this; that’ (masc.nom.sg): an article and a pronoun.
Note: I use italic type for Elranonian words in the text and roman type in examples and tables. Three Elranonian letters have greatly differing glyphs in italic and roman types: ę = ä, ǫ = å, ø = ö.

Article

Pre-nominal
The article en is uninflected and, although it can be accented, /ēn/, it is usually not, /en/. In rare dialects, it has two contrasting accented forms: /ēn/ and /èn/. The former has a long low accent, i.e. the nucleus is lengthened, [ˈeːn]; the latter has a short accent, i.e. the coda is lengthened, [ˈe̞nː]. Distribution of the two forms varies between dialects, with the core use of /ēn/ being accompanying subject nouns (nominative) and that of /èn/ being accompanying object nouns (accusative). This is related to en's inflection as a pronoun (see below). Occasionally, /èn/ may be spelt enn to emphasise the dialectal inflection.
Initially, I intended for en to be a definite article. But then I found myself using it with indefinite nouns, too. Since much of Elranonian grammar is guided by my personal intuition anyway, I use en without having determined precisely when it is supposed to be used—or rather not to be used, as it would be simpler to treat it as always being there by default, unless there is a reason for it not to. One example where I do not use en is with generic plural nouns (1b).

Introducing Post-nominal Attributes
En, also uninflected and also usually unaccented, is repeated after a noun, where it introduces some postpositive attributes. Elranonian adjectives are mostly prepositive (f.ex. piske /pʲìske/ ‘small’, 2a) but there is also a small set of postpositive adjectives (f.ex. dom /dōm/ ‘large’, 2b). That said, prepositive ones can follow nouns they modify if they are introduced by en. I call this “Adj N → N Adj” inversion (2c).

The same en also introduces postpositive prepositional attributes (3a). Possessors, however, are not introduced by it, whether they be prepositional phrases (3b) or not (3c).

This post-nominal use of the article is inspired by a similar construction in Ancient Greek, although details differ: for example, in AG, unlike in Elranonian, an article is repeated with possessors, too (4c).

Pronoun

En has several uses as a pronoun. What unites them and differentiates them from the article en morphologically is declension. The pronoun en is declined for five cases (NOM, ACC, GEN, DAT, LOC) and two numbers (SG, PL), although separate plural forms are archaic and usually replaced with the corresponding singular ones in modern language (see 7a,c, 8a,b, 9a,b below).

1. GEN, DAT, and LOC have separate emphatic forms ending in vowels a, i, and e respectively. These are counter-etymological formations, innovated by applying the most productive declensional paradigm to the pronoun. They remain less common than the non-emphatic forms.
2. NOM, ACC, non-emph. GEN, and non-emph. DAT often lose their accents in connected speech: /e{n,r}{∅,s,t}/.
3. Some prepositions are suffixed onto the bare stem (singular or plural) without any marking for case, f.ex. ennar /ènna ‘with en’ instead of the ungrammatical \ar ent, *\ar enni* (otherwise, ar governs dative).

Anaphor
Anaphoric en refers to a 3^rd person antecedent in a certain binding domain, which I am not prepared to define precisely as I once again rely on my intuition. What I know is that en can be bound by the subject (reflexive, 5a) or a non-subject in the same clause (5a), an antecedent in a superordinate clause (long-distance reflexive, 6a), and even not in the same sentence altogether (logophoric pronoun in reported speech, 7a). It contrasts with personal pronouns, which refer to antecedents outside of that domain (5b, 6b, 7b). Anaphoric en is inspired by Latin reflexive se, which allows for both ‘direct’ and ‘indirect reflexivisation’ (see An LFG analysis of Latin reflexive by M. L. Jøhndal, 2013), although details differ.

Since logophoric en does not have the antecedent in the immediate vicinity, its plural ęr is more readily used without being considered archaic (7c).

Such vast usage of anaphoric en can lead to ambiguity but there exist various lexical means of disambiguation, f.ex. reinforcing an oblique (not NOM or ACC) anaphor with a gendered personal pronoun (5c) or attaching a reflexive prefix ro- /ru/ to a verb (6c).

In Bound Relative Clauses
Anaphoric en is used in a bound relative clause introduced by a relativiser ǫ /ō/, where it refers to the modified noun phrase (8a-c). The anaphor can be embedded arbitrarily deep inside a relative clause.

Some syntactic roles high in the accessibility hierarchy allow for the anaphoric en to be fronted and replace the relativiser ǫ (9a-c), thus becoming a relative pronoun.

When it is a relative pronoun, singular NOM en, ACC en, non-emph. GEN ens, and non-emph. DAT ent can have a different reduced pronunciation if the preceding word (usually the antecedent itself) ends in an unaccented vowel. While the accented pronunciations given in the table above as well as unaccented pronunciations remain valid, a third possible pronunciation replaces the initial /ē/ or /è/ with a floating long low accent: /ˉn{∅,s,t}/. The floating accent is then received by the final vowel of the preceding word. Thus, (9c) can be pronounced in the following three ways:

• accented: /en jùnna èns tāra i en lêj/
• unaccented: /en jùnna ens tāra i en lêj/
• floating accent: /en jùnnāns tāra i en lêj/

Suffix?

In some cases, en interacts phonologically with the previous word (not unlike in the case just above) and is furthermore written inseparably from it, with no space. For each case that I give below, I do not argue whether -en is better analysed as a separate word, a clitic, or a suffix, but I only present situations where such arguments can be made.
Preposition—Article Fusion
Some preposition—article sequences are not formally segmentable. In some such sequences, phonological traces of their individual parts can be discerned; in others, they are obscured by fusion.

Attached to Numerals
There is a special form of cardinal numerals that I call subsective (contrasted with the unmarked absolute). It denotes a selection of objects out of a larger set (English ‘one of’, ‘two of’, and so on). That larger set can be generic and include all objects of the type, in which case it is not preceded by an article. Alternatively, the larger set can itself be a limited collection of objects, in which case it is. The article is usually written separately but is attached to subsective numerals ‘1’, ‘2’, ‘3’.

Forming Determiners & Pronouns
As of yet, Elranonian does not have a structured system of determiners and pronouns, and my use of them is sporadic and inconsistent. Below are a few situations where determiners and pronouns appear to be derived by attaching -en:

• postpositive adjective niss /nʲìs/ ‘other, another (out of an open set of objects)’ →

Going Forward

There is still a lot of work to be done with respect to en. Here are some major points yet to be considered and questions to be answered:

• What is the exact distribution of the article en? How (if at all) does it encode definiteness, specificity?
• What is the exact binding domain for selecting anaphoric en over personal pronouns?
• How can Elranonian determiners and pronouns be systematised? What function does -en have in those?
• How else can the use of en be limited or expanded?

Regarding the last point, my biggest concern is that en is currently too frequent a word. However, I would not want to make any drastic changes to how it functions as an article or as an anaphor. My currect stance is that I should embrace its ubiquity.
That being said, there are two modifications to en's use that are on my mind. One limits its distribution, the other expands it. First, I may decide that en should be incompatible with prepositive adjectives. Instead of en piske to ‘a small house’ (2a), one would have an adjective take a special form (I have been thinking of a suffix -íu /ŷ/): piskíu to ‘a small house’. For now, I am choosing not to adopt this change and adjectives remain uninflected.
Second, the article en could also be used as a nominaliser, in particular:

• with adjectives: en piske ‘a small one’ (or, with the first modification, piskíu ‘a small one’);
• with gerunds: mjęlla ‘loving’ (from mél ‘love (v.)’) → en mjęlla ‘love (n.)’.

This is a change I am more inclined to implement but it will make en's distribution even wider, which is, unfortunately, the opposite of what I would like.

Distributions
For the below scenarios, assume the investor buys $100 worth of the ETF and receives a distribution. On the same day of purchase, the ETF takes $100 of Cash (the only assets it has), purchases $100 of a company X, and passes through anything it receives. The investor has a marginal tax rate of 40% (for simplicity) and is eligible for the 50% capital gains discount.

Capital Gains

Net Capital Gain of $400 (Sale price) less Cost base of $300 = $100. If the investor holds for at least 1 year then 100-(100*0.4*0.5) = $80 net. If less than 1 year then 100-(100*0.4) = $60 net. The timing of events A/B/C is irrelevant regarding the CGT discount calculation.
Questions

1. On AMMA satements there is a section for Cost of managing the fund however it is explicitly labelled as 'not for tax purposes'. Should this be included in the Capital Gains calculation or is it for information only?
2. How might a fund have 'foreign income deductions' that would make 20M not equal to 20E?
3. Under what circumstances would a firm have Unfranked Dividends? If they earn $100 of profit, Corporate tax presumably must be paid first before distributing to shareholders, so when returning $70 to Shareholders why wouldn't they also attach the $30 of tax paid as a franking credit? For a tax rate of 40% (for simplicity), I understand the difference to be 70-70*0.4=$42 vs 70-(100*0.4-30)=$60, more than enough to do the accounting exercise.

How Does It Work?

Like many other coins in the same area, most notably UniSwap, PancakeSwap runs on an Automated Market Maker protocol or AMM. This means that prices for coins on the exchange are decided by a mathematical algorithm. So if a user wishes to trade a token, they can do so without having to wait for a person to match their order. Instead, the token they are selling goes into a liquidity pool. These liquidity pools are backed by users who put up their cryptocurrencies in exchange for the fees earned off of swapping cryptocurrencies. This makes it easy for people to exchange cryptocurrency any time day or night without a governing centralized body.

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اَلَّھُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی سَیَّدِنَا محَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَعَلَی آلِ سَیَّدِنَا محَمَّدٍ ﷺ
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : How to use the power of manifestation to get closer to the love of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ?
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : ‘How to use the power of manifestation?’ Did the video come out yet? This week inshaAllah. Yeah that was an important subject. That, everyone will have a companion in the grave and that companion is their deeds. So because of the barzakh (purgatory) being so close and there’s many other talks on that subject. The reason people marking themself and we’re seeing all of these sort of horrific identities from what we were told of jahannam (hellfire) and the punishments of jahannam; people are seeing that in dunya (material world) because the time of barzakh is very close. Means the dunya is in its final stages. So then those whom are manifesting, their bad deeds are actually visible to them and their manifestation is now on all social media because we’re at the barzakh stage. Right? Instagram is not a coincidence – that’s from their barzakh reality. All of the thoughts and desires that you been trained to push down, shaitan (satan) is allowing it to manifest, and that manifestation is becoming so powerful it destroys the person themselves. When all their bad characteristics manifest, that manifestation becomes so powerful it destroys the insan – the person whom is the creation of Allah (AJ). The other one is their creation - their desires that began to manifest, their bad desires that began to manifest. Those bad desires are now much more powerful than them and destroys them and obliterates them. And that’s why this is the time in which to manifest the goodness, the Mawlid (celebration of the birthday of Prophet ﷺ), the celebration, the love, the good deeds, good deeds, good deeds. With the abundance of good deeds then this is the manifestation of a very beatific soul, beatific angelic reality that begins to accompany that servant and begin to pray for that servant at its angelic reality, not at its egoistic and dunya reality. That’s the importance that Allah (AJ) showing that, ‘These beautiful deeds you’re doing is now like an angel being that is accompanying you and every prayer it’s praying now on your… on your behalf.’ Like the time we couldn’t talk last night because every word I was saying it was echoing it back to me louder. But that’s an immense reality that every du’a (supplication) you make, your du’a is coming back louder from the purified one in front of you, not our dunya person in front of us, not our dunya self because we have our dunya still within us. That one [manifested companion] has no ego – that’s just the manifestation of all beatific deeds. So these are very real realities. So when we watch some of these Sci-Fis, they had the ability to make a Gollum. They would conjure up demons and shaitans from dirt and human by-products and they would make these creatures to appear and go out and to do evil deeds. These are all real. People are doing every moment, they’re conjuring every type of badness and making that badness to go out. So insan and people are very powerful and shaitan knows that. And shaitan knows that – people don’t even know what type of power they have, and he begins to manipulate and abuse them for that power. So with all these good deeds and all these salawats (praises upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ), all the Dalail ul khairat (book of praising on Prophet ﷺ), all of the awrads (daily practices) that been given by the shaykhs – this beatific manifestation is drawing us into the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. Because the hadith of Prophet ﷺ, ‘You’ll be with whom you love,’ and the one whom you love, loves you and begins to send these lights and these blessings upon us.
عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: ... فَقَالَ (رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ): " أَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ." ]اَلْمَصْدَرْ: مُسْلِمْ:. ٧٥٢٠ ]
‘An Anasin (ra): ... Faqala (Rasulullahi) ﷺ: “Anta ma’a man ahbabta.”
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that ...the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "You will be with whom you love." [Source: Muslim 7520]
That’s why in the last days Allah (AJ) says, ‘When they are oppressors to themselves, Jaooka – that they have to run to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.’
وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ جَاءُوكَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا اللَّـهَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ الرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا اللَّـهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا ﴿٦٤﴾
4:64 – “Wa law annahum idh zhalamoo anfusahum jaooka fastaghfaro Allaha wastaghfara lahumur Rasolu lawajado Allaha tawwaban raheema.” (Surat An-Nisa)
“And if, when they had oppressed/wronged themselves, they had but come to you (O’ Muhammad (pbuh)], and asked forgiveness of Allah, and asked forgiveness of the messenger (pbuh), they would have found Allah Acceptor of Repentance/Forgiving, Merciful.” (The Women, 4:64)
That’s why awliyaullah (saints), and we’ve given in other talks, they should only be focusing on “Jaooka” because this is the time of zulum (oppression). So, when insan (mankind) is zalim (oppressor) to himself, all the awliya must be pushing, ‘Jaooka – run to Prophet ﷺ,’ not talk about where Yajuj Majuj (Gog and Magog) are hiding. Who cares where they’re hiding? Every neighbor is Yajuj Majuj. They eat everything, drink everything; they’re all Yajuj Majuj. Look at the… Vancouver – they’re all Yajuj Majuj. Yeah, why you have to find out where they are? Everyone is there. But “Jaooka” is our responsibility is that – Run! Run to the presence of Prophet ﷺ. So they’re like a… like if you would see like a cartoon they’d be screaming for everybody to run to the presence of Prophet ﷺ because of what’s coming. So that then should be rounding them up with salawats, with awrads, with zikrs (Divine remembrance), with nasheeds (songs of praise), with all of this ishq (love) and muhabbat. And that’s their only purpose, “Jaooka,” is to round up everybody to run to the presence of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ. That’s why if they’re not a part of the solution then they’re a big part of the problem. Anyone, anyone calls themself Sayyidina Mahdi (as) is a kafir, is against Ahlul Sunnah (People of Prophetic Tradition), is a dajjal (man of deceit). So if we need to clarify that for anyone who thinks their face is on the moon and that they think they’re Imam Mahdi (as), they’re a kafir. They are completely outside of Islam. And they took away from the immense power and majesty of Imam Mahdi (as). It’s not something like that, not something dirty person can claim. This is something beyond our comprehension that’s coming upon this earth. So people are emailing and asking about that too. So anyone, anyone you hear said that they say – they’re Sayyidina Mahdi (as), astaghfirullah, big time ‘K’ on their hand and run, run! Don’t even have anything to do with that. It’s not something like that all. Most people will not survive the earth for his appearance. Your level and purity and ishq and muhabbat (love) has to be very, very high level. That’s not anything common. And that’s just a sign of deceit – that’s a dajjal, that’s what dajjal means to us. Dajjal doesn’t mean ‘Antichrist’ because we have nothing to do with that. Dajjal means ‘Deception and deceit and lies.’ So that’s a big lie. It’s a big lie. InshaAllah.
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : As salaamu alaykum Ya Sayyidi, Shaykh Nurjan.
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : Walaykum as salaam wa rahmahtullah
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : Forgive my ignorance.
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : No worries [Shaykh laughs].
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : My question is how are we to survive if we are in the region with huge Wahabi ideology?
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : Hide [everybody laughs]. I think in other talks we told people to leave those areas. Punishment coming, fires are coming onto them. Allah’s (AJ) ghadab and anger coming onto them. Go back home. Go back to your homeland. Even if you can eat some rice and corn and milk your goat, you are better off than living amongst their high rises, their buildings and their disbelief. Allah’s (AJ) ghadab and anger will reach to them and those entire regions will be burning. So that’s the difficulty of those areas. And in the west, alhamdulillah Allah (AJ) is going to make Islam rise, and the reality of Islam to be rising from those regions. So they’re all different areas and they serve different purposes. The west is like a clean white slate. And we’ve described many times before – Islam’s reality is actually hidden in the west. Social services and the… what is it called? Social services that Prophet ﷺ brought for the help and support of women and elderly and children, you will find nowhere in the eastern world except in the west. So means the rise of Islam is now in the west, and in the eastern it has already been maghrib (evening) and the light of Islam has set upon that region. So Islam is rising from the west, you can see it by just the implementation of its services. The taking care of people, elderly, the poor, the most vulnerable people, this is what Prophet ﷺ brought, not the west. Christian nations had no concept of these realities, they were in dark ages. Islam came and illuminated their understanding, as a result they took this illumination and they began to implement it in their countries. There’s not a Muslim country you can see them feeding women, feeding children and taking care of the poor, housing them and giving them food and insurance and giving them something to… somewhere to sleep – this is what Prophet ﷺ brought. And soon inshaAllah they’ll close all of the badnesses, with this Covid they closed their nightclubs, they closed all the things that were not pleasing to Allah (AJ) and drawing closer to the reality of Sayyidina Muhammad’s ﷺ requirements. So alhamdulillah, it’s a big, big change has already occurred. So, those areas and eastern areas – it’s dangerous. Try to be at your home and be in a more sort of safer environment, inshaAllah.
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : Why does the shaykh remind us of ourself? Whenever we look at a photo of the shaykh it feels that we have been with the shaykh forever.
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : Yeah, alhamdulillah. It’s a mirror, that the shaykh’s image is a mirror and that’s the talks on mirroring and the reality – is that you don’t see the shaykh’s reality but the mirror and the soul of the shaykh reflects back to you and mirrors to the person information about who they are, what their characteristics are. Because anytime you look into the real mirror you see what you need to see, not what you want to see. The dunya mirror shows every little kitten like it’s a lion, and that’s why those cartoons that we described the ‘Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the most fairest of them all?’ And the dunya mirror lies to you says, ‘You’re the best. You’re the fantastic. You’re the greatest!’ But the mirror of Allah (AJ), when you look into it, it begin to tell you everything wrong. And that’s why the muraqabah (spiritual connection) is the end stages but because of the days of difficulty they’re allowing it to be taught now. When you make your tafakkur (contemplation) and make your connection, everything you’re doing wrong is going to be difficult because the shaykhs light is right in front of you saying, ‘Don’t do that, don’t do this, don’t do these things. This is not correct.’ And that’s why people then will choose not to do their tafakkur and their contemplation. So is very powerful. It’s a mirror of… it’s the mirror of truth. A reflection of truth that comes to them. So alhamdulillah that gives you your realities. Anybody who wants to know about themself, you’re not going to find yourself in a grocery store, but the shaykh has the reality of yourself. So when you call and emailing say, ‘Give my seven names.’ Oh, I don’t know, it’s not McDonalds where you drive-in, pull up and get what you want. It’s you have to sit there for ten years meditating and see how they slowly begin to open within your heart ‘Who are you. What did you promise Allah (AJ)? Are you fulfilling your promise to Allah (AJ)?’ And then begin to tell you what your first name is at the lowest level all the way up to your seventh name in Divinely Presence. But that’s until you know yourself. It’s not by somebody giving it to you. It’s by you taking the path of getting to know yourself and the struggle and the fight with the self, inshaAllah.
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : Can you please expand on what you meant when you said – Queen Sheba (as) is part jinn (unseen being)?
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : Did I say that? [Shaykh laughs] Yeah, there was a… there is a nice story that maybe we can send to Yahya to read it. That, the relationship between the kingdom of Sheba, her name is … the queen is Bilqis (as) and her kingdom is Sheba. Her father had dealt with some jinn and married a queen jinn from the jinn kingdom. And they had some testing and difficulty and the queen took one of her children which was a son back to her realm and left one of the children who was a daughter – Bilqis (as) with the king. Bilqis (as) inherited the kingdom of Sheba. So, she’s half jinn from the jinn nations. So that was her power and the authority of her nation and the power that they had, so alhamdulillah. And amongst the Muhammadan reality alhamdulillah, Shahrbanu (as) was the wife of Imam al-Hussain (as), was also from the jinn queen of Iran and the regions of Iran and that’s why all her progeny from Imam al-Hussain (as) to Imam Zainul Abideen (as), Muhammad Baqir (as), Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (as), Musa Kazim (as), Ali Rida (as) and all of them are descendants of that bloodline because they’re from Imam Zainul Abideen (as) and from the wife of Imam al-Hussain (as) – Shahrbanu (as). She was at Karbala and when they came to grab her, she vanished and a mountain opened and she went into the mountain, inshaAllah. That’s why that lineage of Imam Hussain (as) is very powerful and all the great Imams (religious leaders) they’re from this lineage. Their knowledges because of the reality of who they are and the bloodline of what they represent inshaAllah, of ‘uloom and knowledges and authorities upon this earth, inshaAllah and the hereafter.
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : As the word ‘Rabb’ (lord) comes from many times in Surah Ar-Rahman, which Rabb is Allah (AJ) referring to, ‘Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?’
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : “Rabbikuma tukazziban.”
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ﴿١٣﴾
55:13 – “Fabi ayyi alayi Rabbikuma tukazziban.” (Surat Ar-Rahman)
“Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?” (The Beneficent, 55:13)
Yeah that’s, alhamdulillah, Rubbubiya (lordship) is important. That’s why that bad madhab (school of Islamic law) they said, ‘There’s only oneness in Rubbubiya’ they are wrong. That’s a lie. That Rubbubiya and lordship is in darajats (spiritual stations) and understanding that which governs us in life. That’s why to read Surat Al-Yusuf (as), “Alif, Laaam, Raa” – that’s the opening of the secrets of Rubbubiya and every dialogue of lordship and that which governs insan.
الر ۚ ‎﴿١﴾ “Alif-Laaam-Raa...” (Surat Yusuf)
“A.L.R...” (Joseph, 12:1)
So before anybody can understand heavenly governance, that which governs us, what is governing us now? Is the bad desires! Someone smokes, their lord is smoke and cigarettes, nicotine. Anything that governs you from being free to worship Allah (AJ) is your lord. So alcohol when they can’t stop – that’s their rabb, their rabb is that drink. So every bad characteristic; anger, if you can’t control anger, your anger – your ghadab is your lord. So that, it has to be understood that ‘Which governs me is my lord.’ The lower lords have to be destroyed. Those bad desires, they have to be destroyed. So what are they? They are like idols. So when Prophet ﷺ wanted to free Mecca, there were 360 idols. So means that we have 360 lataif (subtle energy points) on the body and each one has an idol on it, trying to govern us towards it and not towards Allah (AJ). So this is the great fight inside is that when we fight the bad character, fight the bad desires but with the muraqabah because we can’t fight it alone. We don’t know what the bad desire… If I just sit by myself and think, ‘Oh my, what’s bad with me? What’s bad? Absolutely nothing! I’m really a great guy, I don’t know why the shaykh is making me think like this.’ Right? But no, but when you sit and connect your heart and with the light that is in front of you, the light connecting with you – that light begin to burn upon the person so that many of these minor idols and minor characteristics begin to burn away until you can get to the core big characteristics of anger, bad mouth, bad character – the sort of demonic idols that won’t go easily, and those have to be destroyed. Before those are all destroyed, then they begin to be introduced to the heavenly lords. That who is the lord that governs me, the lords that are representing me of my shaykhs. So “Atiullah” is the highest of lordship. “Atiur Rasul” is an immensely powerful lordship “Wa Ulul amre minkum” – I have to know this kingdom of Ulul Amr (saints).
…أَطِيعُواللَّه وَأَطِيعُوٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ... ﴿٥٩﴾
4:59 – “…Atiullaha wa atiur Rasula wa Ulil amre minkum…” (Surat An-Nisa)
“… Obey Allah, Obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you...” (The Women, 4:59)
They are the house of lords, not the house of commons. These are of a lordly soul – Rabbaniyoon (Lordly Souls). Allah (AJ) is… describes them, ‘They are Rabbaniyoon. They taught the book… they learned the book and they taught the book.’ I think it’s [chapter] 3 - Aali Imran, [verse] 31, I believe so. Mawlana Shaykh (Q) said – this is our title from Allah (AJ), ‘Be Rabbaniyoon – kono ma Rabbaniyoon.’ What is it, 3:31 shaykh?
وَلَـٰكِن كُونُوا رَبَّانِيِّينَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ الْكِتَابَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ ﴿٧٩﴾...
3:79 – “…wa lakin kono rabbaniyena bima kuntum tu`allimoonal kitaba wabima kuntum tadrusoon.” (Surat Ali-Imran)
“…Be Lordly Souls/faithful servants/worshippers of Him, Because (of what) you have taught the Book and you have studied it earnestly.” (Family of Imran, 3:79)
That’s the title that we have to achieve but that can only be by destroying the bad rabbs, the bad things that are controlling us. And then Allah (AJ) will begin to introduce us to the heavenly lords which are then the awliya and the heavenly kingdom in which when we connect our hearts then we begin to be reflecting these lordly souls. That’s why I said – if you don’t know who your shaykh is and not connecting with them, you don’t really understand who you’re with, and that’s… that’s the danger. If you don’t understand that then you take for granted these teachings and what these teachings represent. In all the time of creation, at the last days who would be the shaykhs of these last days that would usher in a time for the arrival of Sayyidina Mahdi (as) upon the entire earth? So these are… these are immense realities but people have to connect their heart to find that out, to understand that and to see what honour Allah (AJ) has given in these last days and how to receive those honours and those lights and those blessings, inshaAllah.
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : Sayyidi, how to balance listening to parents who are also Sufi but expect you to obey them above your shaykh and at times restrict access to the shaykh since shaykh is relative? Should we follow Hazrat Owais Qarani (as) way?
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : I think you gave your own answer. You’re probably the parent asking the question [everyone laughs]. Yeah, I’ll leave that for you to follow your heart, inshaAllah.
𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 : Is playing the 7 time protection ruqyah recording enough or should we recite from print/pdf also?
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐤𝐡 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 : If you can recite, alhamdulillah. Playing that brings an energy into the home. But to recite it, it changes the energy of your soul. So everything that you recite, imagine our souls… There these videos that show you these, these trays that they change the frequency, they put something on it and all of a sudden it starts to change shapes. Imagine the subtlety of the soul that when we’re reciting, what’s happening with the soul, what’s changing with the lights and the frequency and the energy of the soul when we recite. It’s completely different. When you play a recitation that brings an energy and a serenity to an environment but when you recite it yourself that brings an energy to the self and a light upon the soul which is essential and needed.
