Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18, Daniel 7:27)
Still, the demonic realm is fighting against Him and His armies. (Ephesians 6:12, 1 Corinthians 10:20-24, Leviticus 17:7, Psalm 106:37)
They fight for territory in the hearts of men. (Daniel 2:35) Their weapons are lies and warped logic. The battle is to conquer the human soul. (James 1:8, 1 Kings 18:21)
Jesus likened the hearts of mankind to a farmer's field. (Matthew 13:38) The logic we're exposed to has the potential to change us and use us to propagate it. (Mark 4:14, Romans 12:2, Leviticus 18:30) The logic we receive is the seed we're sown with. (Hosea 8:7, 1 John 3:24, Luke 8:15) We discard "propaganda" we don't agree with.
What we propagate, proves who we allowed to sow our hearts. (John 8:42-44, Luke 6:45) Our heavenly Father's logic is the bread-corn, the wheat. (Isaiah 53:10, Hosea 2:23, John 1:12, John 12:24) It benefits life. It's purpose is to sustain life and make it enjoyable. (Isaiah 55:2-3) The enemy's logic is the counterfeit. It looks like wheat at first, but does not pass the test of nourishing others. (Matthew 12:34, Romans 10:2-3, Isaiah 58)
It takes from the common ground and uses the energy it receives to stand tall while it can . It provides nothing of value. (Matthew 13:39, Deuteronomy 32:17)
When a person speaks, it is always to influence the world around them. We are wise to separate from those with bad logic, so that we are not contaminated by it. (Matthew 5:30, Genesis 19:12-13, Isaiah 52:11, 2 Corinthians 6:17)
When the harvest comes, the poisonous weeds are thrown out to keep them from contaminating what is good. (Matthew 13:30, 1 John 3:15-18)
As God's creation, we were made to work together to sustain life. Once sin entered our experience, we became divided. The Bible explains that this division is between the living and the dead. Because God is eternal, He sees death long before we do. His word teaches us to see the spiritual cancer of sin, so we can avoid the death it brings. God made us alive, and He wants us to stay that way. Those who accept our Creator's logic don't unite with this world, they only pass through it. (John 11:26, Hebrews 9:27, Isaiah 57:1, Genesis 5:24) Like harvested grain, our Father saves life-bringers for the age to come. (Luke 17:22-37) When Jesus said, "I am the bread of life," He gave us an example to follow. (John 6:35, John 6:51, Romans 12:1, Psalm 16:7-11, Psalm 17:13-15, Matthew 10:25)
Death is not only a state, it is a system. This system devours itself and anything that gets in its path. Jesus explained how this death-system operates. He said, "Where the corpse, (a body lacking His Spirit) is, there the vultures will be gathered. (Galatians 5:14-15, Proverbs 18:21) A carrion-eater sees something dying and does not help it live. Instead it takes advantage of its neighbor while it can. Those who feed on death are blind to the path of life. (Job 15:14, Matthew 13:15-17, 1Timothy 4:1-2, 2 Corinthians 4:4) Their logic has transformed them and robbed them of truth. (Matthew 13:19, Proverbs 25:26) They thirst for blood like a deer thirsts for water. Their logic is unclean. (Matthew 10:16, Job 39:27-30, Psalm 42:1*)
When Jesus entered the justice system of men, He did so, knowing it would cost His life on earth. (1 Corinthians 4:5, Matthew 16:24-26, Isaiah 53) His sacrifice and example show us how to break free from the system of sin and death. (Luke 9:22-27) Jesus lived out the logic of God and proved it was good when He overcame death. (John 11:25, Genesis 5:24, 2 Kings 2:9-11, Mark 16:6)
This is the good logic that will make us fit for eternity. It is God's prayer - what He asks of us.
Listen, you who rule with God (Shema, Yisrael) (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:29-31)
The Lord our God, the Lord is One. (God is not divided by death-bringing logic, this truth is what makes God eternal Numbers 23:19)
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind. (be united with His logic and become eternal John 8:32, John 17:21-26)
And love your neighbor as yourself (treat the body of others as you do your own body. Leviticus 19:18, Ephesians 5:28-30, Deuteronomy 15:7-11, Proverbs 19:17)
Today, if you hear His voice, follow it into a new life with Him. He loves you. He gave up everything to have you with Him forever. There is no better time to separate from death than right now.

When we fail to recognize community above self-promotion, we drain life of what makes it valuable, without a way to recharge that energy. Selfishness is how we unite with the father of lies and death.

Hi all, I asked my LL for rent receipts (all rent has been paid through e-transfers) and he said "the email transfer is the receipt."
I said to him that I need legal receipts including date, amount paid, both tenants names, the name of the landlord, and the landlord or agent signature.
He said back "Yeah sure. I just don't know what other information I can provide to you. You have the legal lease agreement that states the tenants name, landlord name, the amount rent is owed on a monthly basis and the date the rent is due which is signed by all parties. Then you have the legal N2 rent increase form, that shows the rent increase from 2023 to 2024. And finally you have the e-transfer that all the time and dates the rents were paid. So all the information that you are requesting you already possess."
I disagree because I don't think it's normal to send documents for rent in this way to the CRA come time they may need proof of the rent I claimed. But I am not sure.

They fight for territory in the hearts of men. (Daniel 2:35) Their weapons are lies and warped logic. The battle is to conquer the human soul. (James 1:8, 1 Kings 18:21)
Jesus likened the hearts of mankind to a farmer's field. (Matthew 13:38) The logic we're exposed to has the potential to change us and use us to propagate it. (Mark 4:14, Romans 12:2, Leviticus 18:30) The logic we receive is the seed we're sown with. (Hosea 8:7, 1 John 3:24, Luke 8:15) We discard "propaganda" we don't agree with.
What we propagate, proves who we allowed to sow our hearts. (John 8:42-44, Luke 6:45) Our heavenly Father's logic is the bread-corn, the wheat. (Isaiah 53:10, Hosea 2:23, John 1:12, John 12:24) It benefits life. It's purpose is to sustain life and make it enjoyable. (Isaiah 55:2-3) The enemy's logic is the counterfeit. It looks like wheat at first, but does not pass the test of nourishing others. (Matthew 12:34, Romans 10:2-3, Isaiah 58)
It takes from the common ground and uses the energy it receives to stand tall while it can . It provides nothing of value. (Matthew 13:39, Deuteronomy 32:17)
When a person speaks, it is always to influence the world around them. We are wise to separate from those with bad logic, so that we are not contaminated by it. (Matthew 5:30, Genesis 19:12-13, Isaiah 52:11, 2 Corinthians 6:17)
When the harvest comes, the poisonous weeds are thrown out to keep them from contaminating what is good. (Matthew 13:30, 1 John 3:15-18)
As God's creation, we were made to work together to sustain life. Once sin entered our experience, we became divided. The Bible explains that this division is between the living and the dead. Because God is eternal, He sees death long before we do. His word teaches us to see the spiritual cancer of sin, so we can avoid the death it brings. God made us alive, and He wants us to stay that way. Those who accept our Creator's logic don't unite with this world, they only pass through it. (John 11:26, Hebrews 9:27, Isaiah 57:1, Genesis 5:24) Like harvested grain, our Father saves life-bringers for the age to come. Death is not only a state, it is a system. This system devours itself and anything that gets in its path. Jesus explained how this death-system operates. He said, "Where the corpse, (a body lacking His Spirit) is, there the vultures will be gathered. (Galatians 5:14-15, Proverbs 18:21) A carrion-eater sees something dying and does not help it live. Instead it takes advantage of its neighbor while it can. Those who feed on death are blind to the path of life. (Job 15:14, Matthew 13:15-17, 1Timothy 4:1-2, 2 Corinthians 4:4) Their logic has transformed them and robbed them of truth. (Matthew 13:19, Proverbs 25:26) They thirst for blood like a deer thirsts for water. Their logic is unclean. (Matthew 10:16, Job 39:27-30, Psalm 42:1*)
When Jesus entered the justice system of men, He did so, knowing it would cost His life on earth. (1 Corinthians 4:5, Matthew 16:24-26, Isaiah 53) His sacrifice and example show us how to break free from the system of sin and death. (Luke 9:22-27) Jesus lived out the logic of God and proved it was good when He overcame death. (John 11:25, Genesis 5:24, 2 Kings 2:9-11, Mark 16:6)
This is the good logic that will make us fit for eternity. It is God's prayer - what He asks of us.

They fight for territory in the hearts of men. (Daniel 2:35) Their weapons are lies and warped logic. The battle is to conquer the human soul. (James 1:8, 1 Kings 18:21)
Jesus likened the hearts of mankind to a farmer's field. (Matthew 13:38) The logic we're exposed to has the potential to change us and use us to propagate it. (Mark 4:14, Romans 12:2, Leviticus 18:30) The logic we receive is the seed we're sown with. (Hosea 8:7, 1 John 3:24, Luke 8:15) We discard "propaganda" we don't agree with.
What we propagate, proves who we allowed to sow our hearts. (John 8:42-44, Luke 6:45) Our heavenly Father's logic is the bread-corn, the wheat. (Isaiah 53:10, Hosea 2:23, John 1:12, John 12:24) It benefits life. It's purpose is to sustain life and make it enjoyable. (Isaiah 55:2-3) The enemy's logic is the counterfeit. It looks like wheat at first, but does not pass the test of nourishing others. (Matthew 12:34, Romans 10:2-3, Isaiah 58)
It takes from the common ground and uses the energy it receives to stand tall while it can . It provides nothing of value. (Matthew 13:39, Deuteronomy 32:17)
When a person speaks, it is always to influence the world around them. We are wise to separate from those with bad logic, so that we are not contaminated by it. (Matthew 5:30, Genesis 19:12-13, Isaiah 52:11, 2 Corinthians 6:17)
When the harvest comes, the poisonous weeds are thrown out to keep them from contaminating what is good. (Matthew 13:30, 1 John 3:15-18)
As God's creation, we were made to work together to sustain life. Once sin entered our experience, we became divided. The Bible explains that this division is between the living and the dead. Because God is eternal, He sees death long before we do. His word teaches us to see the spiritual cancer of sin, so we can avoid the death it brings. God made us alive, and He wants us to stay that way. Those who accept our Creator's logic don't unite with this world, they only pass through it. (John 11:26, Hebrews 9:27, Isaiah 57:1, Genesis 5:24) Like harvested grain, our Father saves life-bringers for the age to come. (Luke 17:22-37) When Jesus said, "I am the bread of life," He gave us an example to follow. (John 6:35, John 6:51, Romans 12:1, Psalm 16:7-11, Psalm 17:13-15, Matthew 10:25)

I walked in and gave my resume today and they sat me down and tried to get me to work tomorrow on a schedule of 11-11 4 days a week and as long as I work the 4 days a week Ill get 2000-2500 a month before tax, that Ill have to do myself because they don't have any W2 forms. Mind you, minimum wage with that schedule is $3200 before tax. They said I would get paid the 2000-2500 MONTHLY and we split cash tips every day if there is any and the percentage is based on who they feel works the hardest it is not a set percentage for the tip pool. The manager (who just started last week) called me after to talk to me because they tried to get me started the very next day without their approval or knowing if I even have a liquor license to bartend and then texted me 3 hours later saying she is no longer employed there and good luck and then told me no one is even licensed behind the damn bar. All of this literally happened today. I would have left it alone if this was a family carryout in the hood but it is absolutely not, it is next to a STADIUM and they can really fuck with people's livelihoods since they are trying to hire legal people under the table and I wont let them. So this is an exposure and a warning.

Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18, Daniel 7:27)
Still, the demonic realm is fighting against Him and His armies. (Ephesians 6:12, 1 Corinthians 10:20-24, Leviticus 17:7, Psalm 106:37)
They fight for territory in the hearts of men. (Daniel 2:35) Their weapons are lies and warped logic. The battle is to conquer the human soul. (James 1:8, 1 Kings 18:21)
Jesus likened the hearts of mankind to a farmer's field. (Matthew 13:38) The logic we're exposed to has the potential to change us and use us to propagate it. (Mark 4:14, Romans 12:2, Leviticus 18:30) The logic we receive is the seed we're sown with. (Hosea 8:7, 1 John 3:24, Luke 8:15) We discard "propaganda" we don't agree with.
What we propagate, proves who we allowed to sow our hearts. (John 8:42-44, Luke 6:45) Our heavenly Father's logic is the bread-corn, the wheat. (Isaiah 53:10, Hosea 2:23, John 1:12, John 12:24) It benefits life. It's purpose is to sustain life and make it enjoyable. (Isaiah 55:2-3) The enemy's logic is the counterfeit. It looks like wheat at first, but does not pass the test of nourishing others. (Matthew 12:34, Romans 10:2-3, Isaiah 58)
It takes from the common ground and uses the energy it receives to stand tall while it can . It provides nothing of value. (Matthew 13:39, Deuteronomy 32:17)
When a person speaks, it is always to influence the world around them. We are wise to separate from those with bad logic, so that we are not contaminated by it. (Matthew 5:30, Genesis 19:12-13, Isaiah 52:11, 2 Corinthians 6:17)
When the harvest comes, the poisonous weeds are thrown out to keep them from contaminating what is good. (Matthew 13:30, 1 John 3:15-18)
As God's creation, we were made to work together to sustain life. Once sin entered our experience, we became divided. The Bible explains that this division is between the living and the dead. Because God is eternal, He sees death long before we do. His word teaches us to see the spiritual cancer of sin, so we can avoid the death it brings. When we fail to recognize community above self-promotion, we drain life of what makes it valuable, without a way to recharge that energy. Selfishness is how we unite with the father of lies and death.

I've been renting in eastern mass for 3 years now, but this is new. I met the roommate with the posting, I saw the place. Everything matched. The rental application is an adobe PDF, which isn't too much of a red flag the owner of the property isn't a big time landlord. I would be subletting for a few months until the lease renews then added to it.
Why on god's green earth do they need my bank information and credit card information?
My gut's saying it's a small time homeowner just renting out their first home making mistakes and being unprofessional, but I can't help feeling like this is a giant red flag. I've rented a half dozen places and nobody has ever requested my credit card number and credit limit. I'm obviously not going to give it to them, once they see my income and credit report that's all they need to know I'm a reliable tenant financially.... But I am skeptical the place is legit due to that extremely weird request.

Howdy, y'all.
Over the past week or two I've gotten a nudge to share a concept or two that might be helpful for experiencers who experience isolation or disbelief from people or groups that believe and respect you on other topics. I've read so many posts and comments describing this: it's heartbreaking and not right. It also shouldn't fall to you to have to redress these wrongs. But if you need to advocate for yourself, or together on the sub, I hope this post might help.
Caveat: these are all academic/legal theory terms, for which I apologize. You might not get good results busting them out verbatim. But the concepts are straightforward and might better help you say things in your own words and/or in words you know the person you're talking to will understand.
First, names for the specific kind of wrong and the overall effects of this wrong.

• Epistemic Injustice. Disbelief, ignorance, and dismissal, weaponized. The category of wrongs related to knowledge, experience, ways of knowing, or ways of proving.
• Epistemicide. Genocide, but for knowers. The sustained perpetration of epistemic injustice over time can accomplish epistemicide, the destruction of knowledge, experience, ways of knowing, or ways of proving.

Next, more specific types of wrong, Fricker's typology of epistemic injustice:

• Testimonial Injustice. Refusing to listen. Unjust treatment of someone's testimony of their experience or beliefs. This can include disregarding someone's testimony, making acceptance of testimony contingent upon corroboration of a source with certain characteristics, or unjustly choosing to believe someone's word over another's due to personal characteristics or prior beliefs. This can manifest as patholigizing reported experiences, dual standards of credibility, and resulting differential outcomes of testimony of the same type.
• Hermeneutical injustice. Thoughts you can't have because the concepts don't exist. The injustice of being unable to make sense of one's experiences. This is a subtle one, but plenty of familiar examples exist. Prior to the development of phrases like 'sexual harassment', women had difficulty articulating their experience of objectification and sexism to those that hadn't experienced it, much less explaining why it was wrong. A variety of social norms ("Boys will be boys") typically stand in the way of this, putatively explaining away the injustice via accepted categories.

Whelp, that's it, mostly. Having concepts for things that are wrong isn't a magic wand: there are no such easy solutions for complex things like this. I wish there were. But there's a lot of power in giving something a name, especially when the lack of a name for a thing is part of the harm. ("Experiencer" is one such powerful name, btw)
People who rely upon epistemic justice, and haven't experienced not having it, often can't imagine what it's like. They imagine "Just take a video" is a solution. I can understand how that might seem to be enough for someone, if it's done in good faith, but one of the things these concepts help us firmly say is that it's missing the root of the problem. When practices of epistemic injustice are deeply ingrained, providing 'evidence' is never enough, since the injustice is precisely what does and does not count as evidence. Or, most insidiously, what can and cannot 'possibly be the case'.
Each kind of injustice has a corresponding form of justice. In the inverse of what I described above, sometimes it's hard for victims of these injustices to imagine what justice might be like. I hope this post helps at least one person envision what epistemic justice might look like for them. That'd be little bit of hermeneutical justice on the way to what I hope becomes a whole lot more for each of y'all.
There's been a lot written on this. One of the most damaging effects of these injustices is the epistemic poverty they perpetrate upon entire societies. I think there's something critical that people on this sub are coming to know, and that needs to be known, accepted, and understood more broadly. Addressing epistemic injustice is an imperative for all members of a society: you shouldn't have to and don't have to do it alone. If you've got someone close to you who doesn't know about or doesn't accept your experience I hope they make space for it and take it on as something to be understood together.

Los Angeles County. Most of my experience is with tenants moving in for a one-year initial lease with language which lets the lease automatically convert to a month-to-month agreement (through the payment and acceptance of rent), with the tenants moving out whenever they leave the area and/or buy their own place. I mostly have inherited tenants with low rents from prior management and AB 1482, so local moves are rare unless people are buying a place.
Soon I expect to have a surprisingly large number of vacancies, most of which will require a substantial degree of remodeling and updating.
Two units...one a SFR and the other an apartment in a commercial-scale apartment building...are mostly in a re-rentable condition and only require new carpeting, paint, and a serious cleaning. I'd like to perhaps do a quick "freshening", rent them out for a year (and only a year) and then do a more substantial remodel in mid-late 2025 when my "renovation pipeline" isn't as substantial. The SFR remodel could potentially include conversion to a full duplex, so I don't want someone to live there for 5-10 years paying modest rent due to the aged interior.
For the house, it should be pretty simple. I'm eligible for a "non-corporate-owner SFR with declaration" exemption from AB 1482. Though IIRC that current exemption is in danger by the Justice for Renters proposition or some similar one.
But for the apartments, my understanding is that rent stabilization would apply, and just cause protections would apply after 12 months.
And I have a substantial cash cushion. I'm not about to go out of business anytime soon or anything without the rental income. It just seems wasteful to have a place sit empty when it's habitable but I won't be able to get to thoroughly remodeling it for a while. So how easy is it, legally, to limit a tenancy to strictly one year in LA County?

I keep an eye on him through a camera all day. His routine usually involves a morning walk for his bathroom break, some fetch in the afternoon to tire him out, another walk in the evening, and sometimes I let him loose in the backyard for a bit.
Now, I'm thinking of getting him a buddy so he's got someone to hang out and play with. I've been eyeing black Cane Corsos because I love their look, but I'm worried they might be too big for us.

My tenant does not want to renew the lease. He wants to give him a few months until he buys a house. I.e. I will lose my prime time to rent the house out. In some places even the slightest Unlawful application of force can be a crime. One of the reasons for this is because it can instigate fights.

I am applying for an apartment. I have 3 ESA animals. The landlord gave me a document they wanted signed to verify ESA status. I returned the signed document from my therapist that listed all three animals. The landlord now is requesting another letter saying the reason for 3 animals rather than just 1. I was approved but the landlord won’t remove the nonrefundable pet deposit fees without the additional letter, and is saying I’ll lose the apartment if I don’t sign the lease today. They just told me they need the additional letter today, and it is hard to get something like that on short notice from a therapist. So now I’m either out $450 or lose the apartment. From what I understand, this is not legal, since I already provided a signed letter listing all three animals, and I’m hesitant to share more detailed personal health information with the landlord. I’m not sure what to do.

I need some advice regarding an issue with my apartment lease renewal in Maryland. I currently have a month-to-month lease at an apartment complex that I've rented at since 2021, and the lease terms are updated each year before my renewal date on June 1st.

In February, I received a pre-lease agreement stating the rent increase effective June 1st, along with information about an optional service called RentPlus. RentPlus reports rent payments to credit bureaus for a monthly fee. Since I have an 835 credit score and will be applying for a home loan soon, I opted out of this service by checking the "not interested" box.

In March, I received the new lease for electronic signing, which included an additional page for the RentPlus Addendum. The addendum clearly states that "enrollment in RentPlus is entirely optional and is not a condition of this Rental Agreement." as well as "By signing below, or electronically accepting through your landlord, Resident is enrolling in RentPlus and agrees to the terms and conditions set forth in this addendum and the RentPlus Terms of Use that can be found at..." However, the leasing office is insisting that I must sign the addendum to complete the lease renewal online. They have suggested I sign it and then immediately cancel the service, but I believe this contradicts the stated terms and I am concerned about any potential impact on my credit score.
The leasing office neglected to include the fee for my garage rental on my autopayment earlier this year, which resulted in them adding it halfway through the month and my rent payment being considered "late". While the service states that it only reports on-time payments, and will increase my score, I am concerned about any activity on my credit report. I've also read some posts claiming this service lowered peoples scores by opening a new account.

I have repeatedly requested a lease agreement without the RentPlus Addendum, but the office refuses to provide one. They are effectively making enrollment in RentPlus a condition of the lease, contrary to what the addendum states.

With less than three weeks before my current lease expires, I'm unsure of my next steps. I am exploring the possibility of renting a house starting June 1^st, but will need to continue renting here during the month of June to allow time to move. I will also be out of state 29 May through 7 June.

My questions are:

Is it legal for the leasing office to effectively force me into the RentPlus service despite the addendum stating it's optional?
What further steps can I take to resolve this issue without signing up for the service?
Is it a battle worth fighting, or will the leasing office decide to make things difficult for me for the remaining of my stay here, and when it comes to returning my deposit?

I work with some mandated teenagers who are in a legal program due to drug or alcohol charges (typically marijuana charges). I don't really struggle working with teenage girls most of the time, but I struggle sometimes with the teenage boys because of the anger issues presented and the unwillingness to go deeper with emotions. I very much take a harm reduction approach, and I am already put in the position where there is no harm reduction approach for the most part to this program, it is abstinence from the DOC or a longer probation sentence or even jail time. I can work with that because I see the harm weed and alcohol and other drugs have on the young, developing mind, and the chaos it can cause in their lives, as well as how these drugs are often just a maladaptive coping skill to numb anxiety/angetrauma/pain. We work on expressing pain in ways besides using drugs, less maladaptive coping skills, self esteem, emotion regulation, etc.
I have a client who does have some anger issues. My approach as a therapist is to be encouraging and supportive of the client, especially my teenage clients. Some of these kids have little to no supportive and kind adults in their lives, and I try to be that safe space for them. This client has exhibited anger in the forms of fighting and destruction of property. We have talked about healthier ways to exhibit anger and coping skills. We have talked about the consequences of expressing anger in the ways in which he is doing it. The client feels he is doing better expressing anger in ways that do not harm others or himself. He has gotten sober from his DOC and been sober for a couple of months, which I recognize as a huge success. I do believe I have seen improvement. However, it is not enough improvement for the program, and the program is concerned about his destruction of property (he destroyed a significant money value of items of his family member's), however, in the past, he might have engaged in a physical fight instead.
The client tells me coming to see me every week is the only part of the program he enjoys and doesn't dread. I feel pressure to press him on his choices and the possible consequences of his actions. If I try to press him, he gets flat and withdraws, which honestly, I get. I would rather be a safe space for him to come and express emotions than him not feel safe coming to me and not having anyone to talk to. I think I am the only person in the program he likes because I try to be validating and encouraging and not punitive.
Hopefully this makes sense. I guess I'm just looking for resources or advice on how to keep the therapeutic rapport strong while also challenging the client on their behavior and the consequences of their actions (he is trying to find a way to quit the program without being arrested). I have tried using MI.

So I'm starting a new job in June and need to complete an I-9 as part of the process. Currently, I have and EAD that's expired but I have automatic extension for 540 days. I also just recently got my approval notice for my EAD renewal. However, I still have yet to receive the new EAD. My question is, in the case that I don't receive the new EAD by my start date, how do I complete the I-9 form, and am I legally allowed to work during this time?
