In schimb, Phoenix isi propune sa utilizeze framework-urle JS existent pentru a adauga SSR, sporind astfel viteza de randare a paginilor si integrarea FE-BE.

Blogul meu: https://petrepopescu.tech

Pareri, Opinii, Critici, etc.

2024.05.10 21:32 VaDOT All Route 33 Eastbound Lanes on the Interstate 81 Overpass Bridges at Exit 247 Will Close For Night of May 13

All eastbound lanes of Route 33 (East Market Street) will close on the Interstate 81 overpass bridge project on Monday, May 13 beginning at 8 p.m. in the City of Harrisonburg. This is at exit 247 on I-81. The lanes are scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14. Bridge deck work will be performed.
The Route 33 lane closures extend from Carlton Street to the Burgess Road/Linda Lane intersection.
Drivers should use the following detour:
The I-81 southbound entrance ramp from the Route 33 eastbound lanes will remain open.
All southbound I-81 drivers who need to access Route 33 eastbound during the work hours will take exit 247B. Digital message boards will be posted along the I-81 southbound lanes in advance of exit 247, alerting motorist that exit ramp 247A will be closed and to use exit 247B. Detour signs will then guide eastbound Route 33 drivers to follow the posted detour route.
All work is weather permitting.
VDOT contractors are replacing the two Route 33 bridges over I-81 at exit 247 and the two railway bridges just west of the interchange. The project also includes several improvements to the exit 247 interchange. A work-zone speed limit of 25 miles an hour is in place on Route 33 for the duration of the project, which is scheduled for completion in summer 2026. 2024.05.09 18:09 lazarentiano MS contra questão de concurso

Salve, rapaziada.

2024.05.02 16:04 nirvanasomeday Study material for CLAT...

I don't plan to enroll for online/offline coaching, but rather opt for "study material", to do a self-paced preparation.
Following are the options I have come across:
i) Career Launcher
ii) 12minutestoclat
It seems that LE does not have the "study material" option available at all.
So, which of the above two would you suggest or is there a third option that would be better than the two above?

Reconstruction Project
BROTHERS TO THE RESCUE MONUMENT RELOCATION
In May 2024, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will commence the removal of the Brothers to the Rescue Memorial monument located at 1101 West Okeechobee Road, Hialeah Gardens, FL 33018. The City of Hialeah Gardens will construct a new monument at the Westland Gardens Park located at 13051 NW 107 Avenue.
During the removal, FDOT will place a fence around the monument to reduce the impact on the community and sidewalk. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
These efforts are part of the State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road Reconstruction Project. The removal of the monument will allow for the widening and construction of a third level overpass at NW 87 Avenue. This work will improve safety, enhance mobility along this Strategic Intermodal Systems (SIS) corridor, and inspire innovative transportation solutions, connecting commuters throughout Miami-Dade County.

2024.04.30 14:05 ThrowAway7s2 "From the 43d Wisconsin." from the February 23, 1865 Door County Advocate

From the 43d Wisconsin.

From the 43d Wisconsin.

DECHERD, Tenn., Feb. 10, 1865.
EDITOR ADVOCATE: As the 43d Regiment is proud to number in its ranks some of the sons of Door county, I thought a few Iines relative to the doings of the regiment since it has been stationed here would be acceptable to the people of your county.
Since the 2d of January companies A, F, D, C, G, and B, under command of Lieut. Col. Paine, have been stationed at this place, and companies I, II, E, and K, under command of Major Brightman, have been stationed at and near Elk River bridge. The men from Door county are in Co. I, which is stationed on the railroad about six miles from here.
The health of the regiment while at Johnsonville and Clarksville was very poor, in consequence of heavy duty and exposure; but since we came here it has improved greatly, and now the regiment is in a tolerably healthy condition. We have suffered and are suffering now for want of vegetables; we have had none, and some symptoms of scurvy have appeared in the regiment. Our life here has been the usual routine of a railroad guard, varied by an occasional raid into the mountains.
On the first of the month six companies of our regiment, with detachments from two other regiments, under command of Lt. Col. Stanber, of the 43d Missouri Infantry, took a trip into the mountains. Our object was to hunt guerrillas; we returned to camp yesterday, having succeeded very well in our object. These guerrillas are the offscourings of the country, noted in more peaceful times for their villainies and in nowise, by their conduct now, detracting from their former bad name. Rebel and Union families suffer equally from their depredations, with the exception of a few that support and guide them; for I am sorry to say that there are men, and women, too here that support this fiendish system of warfare. I believe we effected a reformation in the part of country traversed by us, that will in a short time remove this excresence of civil war from among us.
The people of this section are pretty well convinced of the futility of any further opposition to the government. The Provost Marshal's office is crowded with people taking the oath; the most substantial men of the country are giving in their adhesion to the good cause, and they are going to work in earnest to reconstruct their State Government. As it is now the state of the country is deplorable; outside of the military posts there is neither law nor order, and rapine reigns supreme. A meeting was held at Winchester a short time ago to nominate a candidate for the Legislature from this county. Speeches were made by Lt. Col. Paine and several citizens.
This was once a fine country and even now, spite of the ruin and desolation that has overtaken it, traces of its former beauty can be seen. The climate is excellent, the water good, and the soil tolerably rich. When the curse of slavery is removed, as it soon will be, and peace is once more restored, this will be one of the finest portions of the "Sunny South." H. HARRIS

That's not to say that I necessarily like every feature of the American planning system. Zoning is blamed for everything from urban sprawl, to racial segregation in housing, and housing affordability, but I believe people are blaming the wrong culprits here.
  1. America has a housing crisis and zoning is to blame - I. It is incorrect to say that America a whole has a housing crisis. In fact American housing is some of the most affordable in the world. We have had year on year price increases, but that is not the same as a crisis, and not something that local government have control over as they are driven by factors such as materials cost, interest rates and labor costs. We have a lower price to income ratio for homes than most developed countries do. Home ownership is more affordable in the US than it is many other countries as a result. US housing units are also generally much more spacious than counterparts in other countries. Us does have rent to income ratios similar or some cases higher than European countries, but rental units in the Us are generally larger than European and Asian ones, so rents per square would be lower once this is taken into account. See here: https://www.numbeo.com/property-investment/rankings\_by\_country.jsp and https://www.reddit.com/MapPorn/comments/1cajkf7/using\_square\_feet\_the\_average\_home\_size\_by\_state/ plus here https://www.jchs.harvard.edu/sites/default/files/brief_international_housing_carliner_marya.pdf II. To the extent the US has an affordability problem it is concentrated in certain places like New Jersey, Connecticut, Downstate NY, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Virginia, Colorado, Oregon, California, Hawaii and Washington III. While all regulation adds cost, it would be wrong to blame zoning for affordability problems. If zoning in general and single family zoning in particular caused housing unaffordability, than places like Oklahoma City, Louisville, KY, Dallas, TX, Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio should as unaffordable as California cities are, but they aren't. Zoning in America is ubiquitous, but housing affordability problems are concentrated in a few regions of the US. The real driver of affordability issues in certain regions is a combination of inclusionary zoning/rent regulation/rent control, anti-sprawl policies such as urban growth boundaries, multi acre minimum lot sizes, and agriculture/open space zoning, high impact fees, long approval times and something specific to California, CEQA. See here: https://reason.com/2022/03/13/how-the-war-on-sprawl-caused-high-housing-prices/ https://www.city-journal.org/article/the-regulatory-labyrinth https://americanaffairsjournal.org/2022/11/two-cheers-for-zoning/ https://californiapolicycenter.org/the-density-delusion/ https://ternercenter.berkeley.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Development_Fees_Slide_Deck_Final_1.pdf IV. Entitlement in most places is roughly 5% of the cost of development - https://www.biggerpockets.com/blog/real-estate-developer-fees
  2. Zoning is racist and exclusionary - Another common assertion is that single family zoning is racist or exclusionary. It is true that zoning has been used for racist purposes in the past like in Berkeley. That said nothing about zoning is inherently racist or exclusionary. The desire for single family zoning specifically comes from the desire to live in neighborhood of single family homes and live next to other single family homes, nothing about that is racist. Zoning exists from a planning perspective to ensure that infrastructure and government services aren't overloaded by development and that development is orderly (whether it accomplishes this is your own opinion), not to exclude minorities or the poor. Single family housing on per square foot basis is generally pretty affordable and there are many places with single family zoning that are affordable. While exclusive suburbs exist, affordable ones exist too. Not every American suburb is the Hamptons, Wilmette, Darien or Winnetka. Go to any majority black suburb or city and people there can be just as nimby as whites are and just as opposed to density. Most non-whites, except for Asians, have housing and neighborhood preferences similar to white people: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/08/02/majority-of-americans-prefer-a-community-with-big-houses-even-if-local-amenities-are-farther-away/
  3. Zoning the main driver of urban sprawl - The problem with this is that while most municipalities have zoning, not all land in America is zoned. In my own state of Illinois, counties are permitted to, but not required to zone, and roughly half of Illinois Counties don't zone. Nearby Indiana, Wisconsin, and Missouri are similar in this regard. In Texas counties aren't allowed to zone without consent of the state legislature, and only a few do. Outside of the ETJ (Extra Territorial Jurisdiction) of Texas cities most land is unzoned. In cities that do have zoning, flexibility exists in the form of Planned Area or Planned Unit Developments, that allow to build development that doesn't fit into the zoning code. Finally Houston Texas has no zoning code and still resembles most sunbelt cities. The most you could say is that zoning helps to preserve sprawl that already got built.
  4. Houston has zoning by another name - The reality is that Houston really does lack zoning and most of Houston's regulations are minimal. The regulations that do exist in Houston are either being repealed or being rolled back, such as the minimum lot size requirements. The city is more often than not very generous with granting variances, such as with setback regulations. So while Houston may not be an Anarcho-capitalist free for all, as no society is, it's a pretty good approximation of what market driven land use would look like. Some people will argue that deed restrictions and HOAs are the same thing as zoning, but in reality they are private agreements are an example of the market at work. Developers themselves, not the city of Houston, put deed restrictions on houses, because it makes the house more likely to sell. The zoning by another name cliche is just a way to get around the market not producing outcomes that you want.
  5. Dense housing is 'illegal' - Saying that apartments are 'illegal' because an area is zoned single family is silly. This ignores rezonings, variances and conditional use permits. Other options include buying parcels already zoned for dense housing or building a planned area or planned unit development. Saying that dense housing is 'illegal' because building it requires a permit is like saying alcohol is illegal because selling alcohol requires a permit. If there really was some overwhelming demand for dense housing, developers would build it more than they do as developers are driven by the market place and by the almighty dollar.

Don't exercise your (long) options for stock! Exercising throws away extrinsic value that selling retrieves. Simply sell your (long) options, to close the position, to harvest value, for a gain or loss. Your break-even is the cost of your option when you are selling. If exercising (a call), your breakeven is the strike price plus the debit cost to enter the position. Further reading: Monday School: Exercise and Expiration are not what you think they are.

2024.04.28 20:14 supermegaboys A Guide for Aspiring Pilots in India to obtaining your CPL (Commercial Pilot's License)

This will be an overview or summarization of the process of becoming a pilot in India.
Aim of the post :- Highlighting the important steps to getting a CPL in India.
In India, the regulatory body which deals with civil aviation matters is called the DGCA(Directorate General of Civil Aviation), which comes under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, India.
The DGCA issues certain licenses for pilots. These are as follows :
The important one's for this discussion are the SPL and CPL. The SPL is the license you receive after passing the flying school's examination and it basically allows you to start flying as a student pilot. The CPL basically allows you as a pilot to fly for hire/fly to get money. To make flying aircrafts your job you'll need a CPL.
To get yourself a CPL issued you'll need to have, Educational Qualification— He/She shall have passed Class Ten plus Two or an equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, from a recognized Board/University, flying experience of minimum of 200 hours, hold Class 1 Medical, clear certain papers, hold RTR license, ELP Level of minimum 4
First of all go to DGCA's website and register yourself. After getting your eGCA ID, first get your Class 2 and then Class 1 Medicals done. These are medical examinations carried out by certain doctors approved by the DGCA.
To fly as a student pilot you'll need your Class 2 Medical. Class 1 Medical is required to hold a Commercial Pilot's License (CPL). My advice is to you and all aspiring pilots is to get your Class 1 Medical approved and be seen as Fit according to the DGCA before joining any flying schools as joining one and paying for on is quite a commitment in regards to the large sum of fees you will be paying to the flying school. Once you are seen as Class 1 Fit atleast you won't have to worry about the medical examinations midway through your training at the school.
While waiting for your Medical assesments, register and apply for your Computer No. on Pariksha website . Your Computer Number is your permanent roll number which will be used for applying for any examinations for your licenses, to check your results, etc. You can find the User Manual for Flight Crew for computer number application on the website.
With the Computer Number received, you can apply for these exams. You will have to pass these examinations for issuance of CPL :
There is another examination which is conducted for the issuance of the RTR license which is conducted by the WPC, Ministry of Telecommunication, India. To apply for this exam you simply printout a form, fill your details, attach the required copies of documents and send them to the specific WPC Regional Office. By clearing this exam you are now eligible to hold a RTR license issued by the WPC.
Flying Experience Required as per DGCA :
For CPL issuance you need minimum of 200 hours of flying experience. On your Pilot's License you get Ratings. These Ratings are endorsements on your license which give you certain extra priviledges. Eg: a Multi Engine aircraft rating in simple terms allows the holder to fly Multi Engine aircrafts as opposed to just Single Engine aircraft.
For just a Single Engine Rating : 200 hours of flying experience on any approved SE (Single Engine) aircraft.
For License with ME (Multi Engine) Rating : 185 hrs on SE aircraft and 15 hrs on ME aircraft, totaling to a total of 200 hrs of flying experience.
English is the language of aviation, so ELP (English Language Proficieny) Test is a test which grades the candidate on a Level of 1-6. Level 4 or above is required for issuance of CPL. For attempting an ELP examination you will need to sit through 30 hours of mandatory ELP Training by approved institute. ELP tests are also to be conducted by DGCA approved institutes. The validity of the Levels are as follows:
With these basic requirements fulfilled you can now apply for a CPL on DGCA's website and finally hold your Commercial Pilot's License!!!
EDIT 1 : Refer to The Aircraft Rules 1937, Schedule II, Section J for what the DGCA says the requirements for CPL (Aeroplanes) are - LINK
Refer to The Aircraft Rules 1937, Schedule II, Section K for what the DGCA says the requirements for CPL (Helicopters) are - LINK
Refer to The Aircraft Rules 1937, Schedule II, Section L for what the DGCA says the requirements for CPL (Aeroplanes) with Instrument Rating are - LINK

2024.04.23 03:33 FredAkbar [Gen 5 Prius Prime] Should I buy a 195/50r19 tire and keep it at my house just in case?

I have a 2024 Prius Prime XSE Premium which has the 19" tires that are apparently impossible to get ahold of if you get an irreparable flat. I'm hearing horror stories of people waiting weeks or months, or having to get different wheels entirely.
I'd rather avoid both of those scenarios, so I'm wondering if it would be prudent to simply order a 19" tire from Michelin or Toyo now (when I don't need it), and keep it at my house. That way if I later need one I'll have it, and I can just take the wheel from my car plus the 19" tire to a tire shop and pay them the labor to replace it.
Note this is not the same as having a "spare tire" as it would just be the rubber tire itself and I'd still need to have the car towed to a shop (or take off the wheel and bring it to a shop by some other means) to have it fixed. This is just to avoid having to wait weeks for a tire that is impossibly hard to find in stock when you need it.
I know relatively little about cars or tires, so please let me know if there is something terribly stupid about this plan.
edit: I went ahead and ordered the Toyo Extensa A/S II tire (this is what is on my car now) to keep at my house. It's on backorder and won't arrive until late May, which is why I'm buying it now. Hopefully no flats between now and then.

2024.04.21 13:59 ThrowAway7s2 "No. 5 in a series 'Meet Your Minister' . . . . . ." from the August 30, 1956 Door County Advocate

TODAY'S FEATURED minister is the Rev. Russell Osnes of Bethany Lutheran church in Ephraim.
———————————————

No. 5 in a Series

'Meet Your Minister' . . . . . .

This is the fifth in a series of articles on Door county ministers written by the Rev. I. Dean Jordan of the First Methodist church, Sturgeon Bay.
—————
Pastor Osnes had just finished hanging his clothes after oiling and lubricating his 1956 Ford. "I miss my old Mercury," he said. I could tear that apart and put it back together again. I don't want to try that with this car."
"Where did you learn your auto-mechanics?"
"I worked for a few months in a garage, and picked up a lot of knowledge there. Before that I did a lot of repair work on the tractors and other machines on my father's farm in Iowa. That was during World War II. Two my brothers were in the service, so when I graduated from High school I had to stay and help Dad with his 360 acres. I knew the farm wasn't a lifetime job for me, so after the war I worked for a while in a garage, like I said. I liked it, but I still wasn't satisfied. Through the counseling of a pastor I decided to enter the ministry. I can't remember a particular time when I decided to be a minister. I just sort of worked into it. I find it fully satisfying."
Mrs. Osnes had come into the yard where we were talking. She was carrying Rusty their two-year-old son. Picking up our conversation about cars she said: "Rusty loves cars. He can see a picture of just part of a car and usually tell what kind it is. He is especially good with Mercurys and Fords. It is evident from their conversation that Rusty occupies an important place in the Osnes family. Both Mr. and Mrs. Osnes were more ready to talk about him than about themselves.
"He learned to pray when he was eight months old." Ardelle said. "At least he would fold his hands and mumble something. There for a while he would say a prayer every time I gave him something. One day when I have him a cracker he put it on a chair, folded his hands, mumbled a prayer, and only then ate the cracker.
"One time at church everyone was ready to sit down and eat. Rusty folded his hands and mumbled his prayer first, and the rest followed his lead."
"Do you have any family devotions with him?" I asked.
"We always have grace at table," Pastor Osnes explained. "Then either in the morning or at night, depending upon our schedule, we'll read some Scripture and talk about it a bit with Rusty, though he is too young to get much out of it.
"He's too young to get much out of church, too," Mr. Osnes continued. One Sunday morning he got a laughing spell. When he laughs he laughs from his toes to his head, and he was really tickled that morning. The more Ardelle tried to quiet him the harder he laughed. Just when I thought I was going to break out laughing myself, he calmed down, and things proceeded normally."
Chuckling at the picture of Mrs. Osnes trying to quiet Rusty so her husband could continue preaching I asked: "What do you think of being a minister's wife?"
It's a wonderfully interesting life," she replied. "It took some adjusting at first to change from working all the time to staying at home. I am a Registered Nurse, you know, and I worked regularly until we moved here a year ago. I'm used to staying at home now, and I think being married to a minister offers nothing but advantages. You have an opportunity to meet so many people. The church work is interesting. I just like it immensely!"
"What do you like most about it, Pastor?" I asked, turning to Mr. Osnes.
"I can't quite make up my mind. I guess it would be a toss-up between the youth work and the preaching. I work on my sermon a little bit each day—reading a bit, mulling the ideas over in my mind. Knowing that far ahead what I am going to preach about I pick up ideas and illustrations as the week goes by."
"What do you do with your time off?" I asked him.
"So far I haven't had too much time off. I've been here only a year, and this is my first church, so I've been pretty busy learning and keeping up with the church." Then, nodding his head to emphasize his determination, he added, "But I'm going fishing one evening this week no matter what".
"How about golf?"
"Oh, I like golf, too. I've taken that up since coming here. I've been out two or three times this year. I've also done some craft-work. I made those picnic tables in the yard."
"He has also made me some ear-rings," Ardelle interjected. And she left the room to bring back some samples of his handiwork. They were made from thin plastic strips combined in attractive colors, tied in a variety of knots, and glued to metal clasps. "This way, Ardelle continued, "I don't worry so much when I lose an ear-ring."
The artistic talent in this family isn't confined to Pastor Osnes. Later he showed me some wooden platters and pitchers on which Mrs. Osnes had painted some intricate and colorful Scandinavian designs and mottos.
Both of the Osnes enjoy working in the yard. Many brightly colored flowers attested to Ardelle's skill in this activity. They both boasted of their vegetable garden. "Our beans are ready for picking. Our potatoes are doing nicely. We even have some good old Iowa corn coming up!"
As I left we walked over to examine the garden. Its cleanly cultivated rows gave evidence of careful attention. The vegetables were plentiful. It looked promising enough, in fact, that I decided that their boasting was not in vain.

2024.04.18 11:47 Informal_Patience821 A Mistranslated Quranic Verse: "Each in an orbit, floating" (36:40) - Major Mistranslation That Leads To A Geocentric Model of The Universe

A Mistranslated Quranic Verse:
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Peace be upon you all :)
The Arabic verse:
The traditional translation:
"It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night outrun the day. Each is travelling in an orbit of their own." (36:40)
The accurate translation:
"It is not for the sun to overtake the moon [in its orbital path], nor can the night outstrip the day, and all are in a whirl, glorifying Him." (36:40)

Explanation:

Here's why this verse has been initially mistranslated: Traditionalists aimed to reconcile their Hadiths, which include references to the sun, with the Quran. In this effort, they inadvertently conveyed that the night and day are in an orbit along with the sun and moon. However, this interpretation is problematic as it suggests a geocentric model, which is scientifically inaccurate. Numerous mistranslations within this verse were deliberately made based on Sunni Tafsirs and Hadiths. Let's examine each of these mistranslations together.

Number one: "...catch up with the moon"

The Arabic phrase is: يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ
The literal translation of this is: "...is not for it to overtake..." / "...it is not possible for it to overtake..."
The Arabic verb "يَنۢبَغِى" (yanbaghî) is derived from the root "ن-ب-غ" (n-b-gh), which conveys the meaning of "to be fitting," "to be suitable," or "to be appropriate." In its form here, rather than "permission" (as in being a possibility, but just not allowed by God). It is in the third person singular, masculine, present tense, and subjunctive mood. It indicates something that is proper, fitting, or suitable in a given context. "It is not possible for it" or "it is not for it" is the proper and accurate translation of this part.
The Arabic verb "تُدْرِكَ" (tudrika) is derived from the root "د-ر-ك" (d-r-k), which carries the meaning of "to reach" or "to attain." In its form here, it is in the third person singular, feminine, and subjunctive mood. The verb "تُدْرِكَ" specifically means "she attains" or "it reaches her" when referring to a feminine singular subject.
Full and accurate translation of this part:
"It is not possible for the sun to overtake the moon" or,
"It is not for the sun to overtake the moon"
I.e., it is not how they are created, such a notion is not even suitable to suggest, is what is being conveyed here.
The traditional translation is implying that they are in the same orbit circulating the earth, and not permitted to clash. This is a total mistranslation and misinterpretation, because what are then sun/moon eclipses?! When the sun/moon eclipsed during the prophet's time, why did the companions not point to this verse saying: "Look, God said it was not permissible for the sun to overtake the moon, why is it then happening now??" - The verse is not saying "permissible," it is literally saying that it is an impossibility due to their vastly different orbits (and/or nature/state).

Number two: "Each is travelling in an orbit of their own."

The Arabic phrase is: وَكُلٌّۭ فِى فَلَكٍۢ يَسْبَحُونَ
The literal translation of this is: "All are in a whirl, glorifying Him" / "All in a spindle, Praising Him"
The word "فَلَكٍۢ" (Falakin) is more about a shape (in the singular form, i.e. an object), rather than a movement of each object that was previously mentioned:

Classical Arabic dictionary: فلك (Falakin)

Word: فَلَكَ (n. ac. فَلْك) a. Was round, spherical. b. Had well-rounded breasts.
Word:

Circling, agitated (waves). d. Circuit. e. Weather. f. (pl. فِلَاْك), Hill, mound, hillock. فَلَكِــيّ a. Round, circular, spherical. b. Celestial, heavenly. c. Astronomical. d. Word: عِلْم الــفَلَك a. Astronomy; astrology.

The word "فَلَكٍۢ" (falakin) is the accusative singular masculine form of the noun "فَلَك" (falak), which has a range of meanings related to circular or spherical objects. The definition "a. Whirl (of a spindle)" is one of the possible meanings of this noun, as indicated in the dictionary above. I have chosen "a. Whirl ( of a spindle)" because it is a primary defintion of the word, and because it completely explains what God meant (See pictures below):

This is a spindle:

A spindle.

This is our solar system:

Our solar system looking just like a whirling spindle.
The other primary definitions are "Sphere", "Globe", "Round," etc, which would be a little awkward, not that our universe isn't spherical in its shape, but our galaxy is very small compared to the entirety of the universe. The verse is talking about our solar system, rather than the entire universe.
- "Orbit" is not even on the list, the definition traditionalists went for.
God is saying "All are in a spindle/whirl," and our solar system looks and behaves just like one.

The word: يَسْبَحُونَ (Yasbahûna):

The word "يَسْبَحُونَ" (yasbahûna) is derived from the Arabic root "س-ب-ح" (s-b-ḥ) [much like the word "SubhanAllah"], its primary definition is "Praise"/"Glorify." The primary meaning of the word "يَسْبَحُونَ" (yasbahûna) is "Praising Him" or "Glorifying Him." This is because the verse is describing the celestial bodies as engaged in the act of worshipping and praising God, all in a unified whirl/spindle. Mirroring this verse:
"Seest thou not that to God bow down in worship all things that are in the heavens and on earth,- the sun, the moon, the stars; the hills, the trees, the animals; and a great number among mankind?" (22:18)
Moreover, when we look at how this word and all its derivatives are translated in all other instances in the Quran:
https://corpus.quran.com/qurandictionary.jsp?q=sbH#(21:33:11))
It always means "Praise", "glorifying", etc. Why was it specifically translated as "swimming" here by traditionalists? Because they wanted it to say something it wasn't saying. What is the reason for their misinterpretation and mistranslation? Nothing other than the fabrications found in their Hadiths and their scholarly Tafsirs that all talked about the orbit of the sun around the earth, and thus also the supposed orbit of the night and day (which contradicts other verses of the Quran, as I've pointed out in this post). But in order for them to not reject these obviously false Hadiths, they've misinterpreted this verse to reconcile what they obviously saw was a glaring contradiction. In other words, they needed an Âyah to say what these fabricators were saying in their Hadîths.
Thank you for reading :)

2024.04.16 17:55 PapaCharlie9 Options Questions Safe Haven Thread April 15-22 2024

For the options questions you wanted to ask, but were afraid to. There are no stupid questions.   Fire away. This project succeeds via thoughtful sharing of knowledge. You, too, are invited to respond to these questions. This is a weekly rotation with past threads linked below.

BEFORE POSTING, PLEASE REVIEW THE BELOW LIST OF FREQUENT ANSWERS. .

..
Also, generally, do not take an option to expiration, for similar reasons as above.
