I wanted to add my own interesting experience here for anyone on Ubuntu 22.04 running Bookstack v24.02.3 and Nginx.
The latest Bookstack v24.05 requires PHP 8.1 or higher. FYI, stock 22.04 has PHP v8.1.x, so you should be OK.
I thought - why not upgrade the Ubuntu distribution to 24.04 (latest at time of this writing) in order to get PHP 8.3 and hedge against future releases? I've been able to do Ubuntu in-place upgrades for the last one or two releases without issue. We are on hypervisors so snapshotting and attempting upgrades has very little risk.
My initial installation of Ubuntu basically stock wizard-click - not much attention to partitioning because everything is running on a SAN / virtual machine. So the /boot partition was the abysmally small 450MB or so default, and the rest of everything is on an LVM2 partition which can be easily managed in various ways.
As it turns out, you have to first upgrade to 23.x and then to 24.04 beacuse the normal release cadence doesn't get exposed until August 2024 when they release 24.04.1. The upgrade stopped short because there wasn't enough room on the /boot partition to support this process. Running apt autoremove didn't come anywhere close to solving the problem.
And thus began my hours long trail of tears attempting to expand the /boot drive. Never did I imagine how difficult this would be to do, and I sorely wish I had paid more attention to partitioning it properly in the first place, or (despite 'best practices') putting the /boot in the LVM parition.
Let's just say you'll need Kubuntu mountable .iso, and a carefully curated series of steps to do it properly. Here are my steps in general; you still need to know what you're doing, this is not a point click manual. Try at your own risk, this is just a hope it could save people time.

Assumptions

• You're on a virtual machine. If not, this is still possible, but it won't be an exact recipe.
• Ensure you have a backup.
• We're going to move the default Ubuntu installation "/boot" partition to another, larger "/boot" partition. It will remain outside of and not participating in an LVM.
• This assumes you're on a simplistic "/dev/sda" kind of configuration. If not, pay special attention to what you're editing in order to match your setup.
• You have sudo privileges.
• If you encounter an error, stop and revert or get help.

How to

This was performed on 22.04.x LTS.
Before starting, know the boot partition format (ext2, ext4, etc.) and its size. It should hopefully be easily recognizable by its very small size. You can get this by simply Do: "df -h"

• Download the latest Kubuntu release.
• Mount the Kubuntu .iso to your VM.
• Add 5GB of unallocated space to the exsting VM disk using VMWare, Nutanix, hypervisor of choice.
• Power on VM.
• Choose "Try Kubuntu" at boot prompt
• Choose "Try Kubuntu" when presented to get live boot, close welcome screen
• Start / Run "KDE Partition Manager" (no root password when prompted just continue)
• Ensure entire disk is selected on the left hand side
• You'll see a small (probably ext2) partition. Just ensure you're choosing the boot partition. Right-click "COPY".
• Choose the unallocated partition and right-click "PASTE".
  • A new screen will appear.
  • Expand the bar to the right by click-dragging it to be the maximum. This can be frustrating because the ability to drag is like a pixel wide. Just ensure it consumes the entire bar.
  • Click OK.
• At the bottom in pending operations it will state something like, "Copy parition /dev/sda1 (XXXmb) to unallocated space starting at (something) on /dev/sda and grow it to 5.00 GiB"
• Click "Apply"
• You will now have a new partition "/dev/sda3" or the like, depending on your original installation.
• Right-click the original boot partition and click "Properties".
• Uncheck the "boot" flag. Click "OK".
• Click "Apply"
• Right-click the new partition and click "Properties".
• Check the "boot" flag. Click "OK".
• Click "Apply"
• Right-click the new partition and click "Edit Mount Point". In the Path, type, "/boot" and click OK. It should spout something about overwriting "/etc/fstab", which it claims to do but doesn't... probably because it's a live CD. Click "Save Changes".
• Right-click the new parition and click "Properties".
• Screenshot the new UUID. We can get it again easily later for copy/paste.
• Close the partition manager and reboot to your normal Ubuntu installation.

It's going to use the old partition to boot, because we haven't updated the rest yet in the live system. Once the system is back up, do the following:

• Do: "df -h" you should see "/boot" still on the old partition with very little room. This is normal.
• Do: "sudo blkid"
• This should show you the UUID of the new partition as something like /dev/sda3 or the like. Copy it.
• Do "sudo nano /etc/fstab". Consider making a backup before you edit, just in case.
  • Copy the old /boot entry to another line, then comment out the old one.
  • Replace the new line UUID with the new UUID. Save changes.
• Reboot, log in.
• Now we want to tell Grub about our new boot partition.
  • Do: "sudo grub-install /dev/sda".
  • Do: "sudo update-grub".
• Reboot, log in.
• Do: "df -h". You should see your new partition (mine was /dev/sda3) as the "/boot" partition with lots of free space! If not, stop here and read up or revert.
• We're going to remove the old partition:
  • Do "sudo parted"
  • Do "print all". This will show you the partitions - get the number of the old boot partition you want to remove.
  • Do "rm 1" (or whatever number your original boot partition was).
  • Do "print all" and ensure the partition is gone.
  • Do "quit" to quit.
• Reboot and ensure all is well.

You will have a partition left that you can't do anything about, or at least that I'm aware of. Considering it's probably 500MB, it's not a worry to me. If you look at it in Kubuntu, it is unallocated space.

For many, Guerlain’s Habit Rouge represents a high watermark in perfumery. Since its original release in 1965, the composition has been beloved by gentlemen (and ladies) across the world. It is also a well known favourite of many of the most well regarded perfume historians and reviewers out there and, because of that, one could well argue that there is precious little further useful opinion that can be added to the existing cannon (and they may well be right!).
Still, Jean-Paul Guerlain’s multi-faceted composition has been no stranger to a remix over the years and, since Delphine Jelk took over from Thierry Wasser as in-house perfumer at the historic French house, she has managed to deliver a staggering three new takes on the fragrance in as many years. What better opportunity could there be, therefore, to undertake both a reappraisal of the original release and, in doing so, compare it to some of the new kids on the block? Note: I have not sampled the first of Jelk’s flankers, 2022’s Habit Rouge L'Instinct but, given the almost unanimous negativity surrounding it, it’s not high on my hit list! We’ll be looking at Rouge Prive and the Parfum today.
Habit Rouge EDT (1965)
The concept behind Habit Rouge (or ‘Red Coat’, if translated in to English from its native language) was to create a perfume that brought to mind the jackets worn by the landed gentry when they went hunting. In the UK, we’re no stranger to this nefarious practice - our own fox hunting aristocrats also wore red coats and, despite now being banned, the idea of chasing helpless creatures to their deaths is still a subject of debate in our national politics (with right wing politicians often promising to offer a ‘free vote’ to MPs on the issue to energise their base).
As an animal lover myself, this is perhaps the only element of Habit Rouge I find somewhat jarring. There is nothing within this perfume which brings to mind sport, adrenaline, blood, or violence. I find it somewhat curious, consequently, that Guerlain sought to relate it to hunting. The only thing wearers of Habit Rouge were likely to be chasing on its release were sexual partners!
That statement isn’t made wholly in jest either. Habit Rouge is a gentleman’s fragrance, but it carries within its structure not only aspects of formality and traditional masculinity, but also sensuality and sensitivity. It is, as such, a fragrance well suited to old fashioned romantics. Indeed, if it didn’t have these traits, I’d argue that it wouldn’t have survived for the almost 60 years that it has. When you think about it, it’s almost incredible that, despite how radically concepts of masculinity have changed over the years, Habit Rouge has still been a regular seller for Guerlain, with devotees now spanning across 5 generations.
Created to be the younger brother to the company’s 1925 release, Shalimar it, like its sibling, contains a citrus top note, which descends into a floral heart, before culminating in a vanillic leather and amber base. Habit Rouge is not simply a three card trick, however, and its complete run of notes can be summarised as follows (as per Basenotes):
Top Notes: bergamot, lemon, rosewood, basil, pimento
Heart Notes: sandalwood, carnation, patchouli, cedar, rose, cinnamon
Base Notes: vanilla, amber, moss, leather, benzoin, labdanum, olibanum
When it comes to the head of the perfume, the real star of the show is the bergamot, which radiates wonderfully off the skin when first sprayed. Whilst it is effervescent, though, it is also a powdery affair. In fact, it can most accurately be described as being akin to orange sherbet - fizzing whilst maintaining a chalkiness. It is warm and reassuring as opposed to enthusiastic. It also maintains a cologne like structure, however, by incorporating herbal and spicy notes through the use of basil and rosewood.
This accord is then joined to a rose and carnation-dominant middle phase, through which the powdered facets of the fragrance continue to run, and through which the fragrance begins to show its romantic side.
Finally, the dry down of the fragrance provides a semi-sweet backdrop with the vanilla taking the edge away from the traditionally masculine moss and leather accords and combining with the rest of the ingredients to produce a soft, light amber.
It is not hard to see, in this context, why Habit Rouge has continued to be successful over the years - it, essentially, captures hearts and minds because it resonates with the personality of its wearer in a way that other traditional masculine fragrances can sometimes struggle to do (as they were often, like their owners of the period, more buttoned up).
Habit Rouge - Rouge Prive (2023)
That doesn’t mean that the EdT of Habit Rouge smells like it was composed yesterday, however. It just means that it has aged like a fine wine as opposed to being the perfume equivalent of a kipper tie. In fact, if it were any item of clothing, I’d compare it to a 1960s slim lapelled suit - of its time, but still stylish today.
Still, as the years have gone by, the term ‘legibility’ has become more and more important in the perfume industry, and there now seems to be a distinct trend towards the creation of perfumes whose formulas are more streamlined than Habit Rouge. Or to put it another way, perfumers are being encouraged to reduce the number of notes in a perfume’s composition, with the aim of producing a more direct product. For lovers of vintage fragrances, legibility can be an anathema but, personally, I have no issue with the principle behind the concept. Nor it appears, does Delphine Jelk. Enter Habit Rouge Rouge Prive.
Top Notes:Bergamot, Ginger
Middle Notes: Orange Blossom, Iris
Base Notes: Leather, Patchouli, Vanilla
As can be seen from the notes list, Rouge Prive maintains the structure of Habit Rouge (bergamot, floral, vanillic leather), but switches out or culls a number of the traditional accords that were contained within the original. Gone are the cologne-esque elements. Gone too are the powdery rose and carnation. The leather, meanwhile, has been amped up and modernised - more akin to Tom Ford’s Tuscan Leather than Knize 10. Whisper it quietly, but it also seems that Jelk has snuck an oud accord in to the base too.
Given the number of changes, you could be forgiven for thinking that Rouge Prive would end up smelling completely different to the EdT, but fans of the OG need not worry - this is still unmistakably Habit Rouge. To paraphrase Persolaise (my favourite reviewer of perfumes), it’s like the whole perfume has simply been redrawn with clean bold lines. The bergamot continues to shimmer and, in spite of the florals being listed as Orange Blossom and Iris, the ultimate accord generated is still interpreted by my nose as being a rose. It is very much a rouge perfume as opposed to an orange or purple one (which is, incidentally, roughly what you get if you combine an iris hue and orange on a colour wheel…).
Where Rouge Prive differs to the EdT is in its brute strength. The leather note really does have a serious kick to it and, given that, the perfume is pulled from the bottom up, as opposed to the top diffusing off the skin to reveal the heart.
Whilst I’ve always found the EdT to perform quite well, the longevity of the Prive is genuinely outstanding, again due to the material in the base. Pleasingly though, the dry down still does maintain the powdered amber facets contained within the original. It’s a superb flanker that updates Habit Rouge without necessarily ripping up the original composition.
Habit Rouge Parfum (2024)
Not to rest on their laurels, Guerlain have now revisited Habit Rouge again in 2024, introducing a parfum version to go alongside new stablemates Vetiver Parfum and L’Homme Ideal Parfum.
I’ll say in advance that I’m a little sceptical of the allure of parfums myself, as I often find that the actual performance difference between fragrance concentrations can be completely counter-intuitive (I have EdTs that vastly out-perform EDPs and Parfums, both in terms of silage and longevity). In addition, given that Rouge Prive was already quite beastly, the necessity for a parfum to be made only a year later seems curious to me.
Parking those views for the moment though, the theme across these three new releases appears to be alcohol. In the case of Habit Rouge, the drink of choice is listed as rum, although there seems to be confusion in that regard, with Jelk being quoted in the marketing as saying:
For Habit Rouge Le Parfum, I Created a leathery vanilla liqueur with plenty of bold bourbon-inspired intensity
Perhaps Guerlain are suggesting that the perfume has been matured in bourbon casks? Hmm. In any event, the notes list for this one is as follows:
Bergamot, Vanilla, Rum, Patchouli
Well, I did say perfumers were streamlining their notes list, didn’t I!
What’s most striking to me about the Parfum is, firstly, how base heavy it is (we’re talking sub-woofer level) but, secondly, how patchouli dominant it is - there’s a definite chocolate element in that respect, but my nose also detects something slightly medicinal, smoked, and perhaps even burnt (think coffee beans). When combined with the vanilla, the result is a perfume that very much lies within the domain of the gourmand.
This is somewhat a blessing and a curse - if you’re not a particular fan of the EdT or Prive’s floral elements, you’re likely to get along a lot better with the Parfum. At the same time though, I’d argue that the floral heart of Habit Rouge is, to a large extent, key to its DNA, and vastly reducing the components that make this element ‘sing’ lead to a very different fragrance profile.
My second critique is that the perfume, generally, feels less balanced than Rouge Prive. I have no issue with the concept of a Habit Rouge that focuses on patchouli - readers of my previous pieces will know that I’m a huge fan of the note - I just wished that, on a technical level, the Parfum still maintained a decent top end. As it is, the whole thing sits very deep against the skin, with any radiance from the bergamot being buried by the heavier materials. This ultimately leads to a fragrance that, rather than being a sparkling rouge, comes across as a heavy-set chocolate and beige. Because of that, I can’t decide whether or not I’ve truly fallen for the Parfum.
That being said, you honestly couldn’t go wrong with any one of these three and I’ve no doubt they’ll appeal to different elements of the fragrance market. I look forward to Jelk’s next flanker in 2025, even if these variations are becoming a little bit akin to Marge Simpson’s Chanel jacket…!

She never goes anywhere without me, I'm never left home alone. I never go out anywhere. The only time I have outside the house is when she goes to the store for groceries and me and the baby go along. Thats the most of my social interaction for the next few months until we need more groceries.
She hates that I put on a small amount of light eye makeup and half way decent clothes while she doesn't want to put effort into her look. ("No im just going to the store and I sweat too much who cares nobody is looking at me i want to dress comfortably") ("look at you looking nice and im here in sweat pants and messy hair in a bun but you just have to let me leave the house with me looking like this while you look like that")
So she's started this thing where she makes me aware we're leaving only 10 minutes before our ride comes to pick us up. Thats not so bad right? No, I have to pick out clothes for her as well as dress the baby and dress myself all in those 10 minutes. So I run out the door sweaty and stressed and looking an awful mess.
Now imagine my 5'0 self waddling, huffing and puffing holding a comically large diaper bag, her comically large purse, a 45lb toddler in a large car seat. It's heavy all together and every time we go out I get looks from strangers like "This poor young mother" Shes my sister. While her actual mother walks blissfully beside me not a thing in her hands. Once she's in the cart I get the groceries and so on until we get home where I take in the bags with "Hurry the baby is crying" in my ear every 2 minutes.
Her back hurts because of her weight, my back hurts because of two injuries I never went to the hospital or at least a doctor for because her reasoning is "If there's no visible bone you're fine" even though I had government health assistance so my visits and medication and treatment would have all been free up until I turned 19.
So everytime I have to leave the house carrying heavy items i can hardly support, I mess up my back tremendously. It's the most painful thing and I'm just meant to go about my chores and such because her pain is obviously much worse than mine and im only 20 so im faking and that's that. I'm doing so much damage to my back now that it makes me afraid for when I'm actually suppose to be in pain later down the road. Most days I can hardly move but I have to.
Going anywhere is so stressful with the heavy bags and the heavy baby, much less the store with all the groceries too.
So this time I told her I didn't want to go. She told me her back would hurt if I don't go. I told her I'd stay with the baby at home because I simply did not want to go. Not to mention everyone in town is sick rn and none of them can keep their grubby fingers to them selves around a small child. She was grumbling and giving me looks and asking if I was SUUURE I wanted to stay home. I stayed home.
While at the store she was texting me that she's in so much pain having to put the heavy items in the cart. And all this walking she can't get all the things we need and she was coming home early. And she can't stand to go any further. She's around 400lbs if I had to guess so she's always had back and feet pain. She's completely mobile when she's having fun coincidentally.
When she got home I went outside and usually the person and passenger who give us the ride help with the bags. Its much different carrying them then wheeling them around. But this time when they opened their doors to help she said "No don't help her. Don't help her. She can do it. Don't you help her." With a tone only a mother can make. So they just stared at me while I took the bags in by myself and I was a little embarrassed. She said don't help she didn't say WATCH me.
They wouldn't open the doors for me either so I was having to crawl into the van through the trunk to get the bags in the back seat. It really was embarrassing. When I was finally done she got off and was walking around the house excitedly telling me the stuff she got.
And I'm here sitting on the floor typing this surrounded by groceries im putting away.
Im out in the middle of nowhere two towns away from anything, no car, no neighbors, just me here losing my mind. Sorry for the rant. I'll delete this tomorrow like I always do.

This short excerpt alone is already remarkable. Note that Linji does not tell us to disregard his words (which would be a paradoxical) but urges us to not grasp them. Grasping, clinging, attaching - futile attempts to hold on to something that is temporary.

Good people, there is no buddha that can be attained. Even the three vehicles, the five categories of beings, the round and the sudden manifestations of the teachings, [and all Buddhist for­mulations] are all just medicines to deal with the diseases of a cer­tain period.

The comparison to medicine further illustrates the conditional nature of verbal teachings. For instance, no skillful physician would prescribe laxatives for every ailment just because they helped in cases of constipation.

There is no real doctrine at all. If there are [doctrinal teachings], they are open announcements that show some semblance of [real truth], public verbal demonstrations. Arranged for effect, they explain as they do for the time being.

Again, there is no real, i.e. permanent and unchanging, doctrine. However, that doesn't mean those demonstrations have no worth.

“Good people, there are some misguided monks who attach their efforts to what is in these teachings, trying to find a worldtranscending truth, but they are making a mistake. If people seek Buddha, they lose Buddha; if they seek the Path, they lose the Path; if they seek the patriarchs, they lose the patriarchs.

You may inter­pret them, but it is only to put down other people—you have the victory-and-loss mentality of the asura. You are ignorant of self and others, and are increasing your hellish karma.

Is it that simple? No more elbow mentality, no more heated discussions about who got it right?

“Better to have no concerns, to stop and rest. When hunger comes, eat. When sleep comes, close your eyes. Fools may laugh at us, but the wise know.

Someone who is not me can easily recode an older version of Unreal 4, and why the hell yous wrapped your mobile port into Unreal 4 instead of 5? Faking the amount of accounts to be in the beta. Day 1 and the playerbase is gonna be rageful rants about people 360 spinning, headshotting and pre-aiming through walls.
Diplomacy for the keys is over as of now, waited 24 hours exactly - but if that fails the public can decide. Also your banned new cards etc is because its a mobile port still in its base-code, ported to Unreal 4 which will already have conflicts with newer graphics cards past its era, but they probably expect Nvidia to retrofit their little high advertised but poorly executed marketed F2P title.

It's still gonna be janky on the newer cards running on an old UE4 engine. Its cause they ported a mobile game which clearly is still fundmentally running mobile graphic software, and got retrofitted with Unreal 4 (NOT 5 FOR NO REASON AS A WRAPPER ON THE GAME WOULD OF SOLVED IT FOR EVERYONE)
So the newer cards dont run well with a combination of mobile port into Unreal 4. They need nvidia to be bothered to patch the new cards to word with UE40.

I just moved my brokerage account and Roth IRA from my parents FA to Schwab. I plan on re-balancing my Roth IRA since it is tax free. The issue I am running into is the brokerage account, currently it has about 90k in there distributed among roughly 20 fairly high cost mutual funds (0.5-1.1 expense ratio).
I called Schwab about putting this in a managed account or using the Robo Advisor just to slowly divest and try to minimize long term capital gains taxes. They said they would have to sell all the assets and re-balance to their Schwab accounts.
After hearing what Schwab had to say I called Vanguard to hear them out. They said that they should be able to slowly divest from the those old mutual funds and go into a basic 3 fund portfolio. The question I have is this true or will they just sell the assets and throw everything into vanguard funds. Has anyone had any experience with this?
Or would it be best to open a new brokerage and start over, and just slowly sell some of the more expense funds in the old one?

Just wanted to come in here for those struggling taking it, about to take it, or are on the same path as me.
Over a month ago I was having severe panic attacks. With a mix of PMDD and GAD, I needs help and CBT therapy was not helping. I was crying at my psychiatrist appointment, and we decided on lexapro for my severe anxiety.
The first week was rough. I wanted to stop taking it because my anxiety was through the roof and I couldn’t take it. Horrible sweats, and I was constantly restless.
However, after the first 5 days or so I had very little symptoms. Some fatigue, but I started working out (and didn’t cry when I was running!) and that seemed to help.
Fast forward to now, I feel totally like myself again. I’m back to my bubbly, outgoing self, and genuinely feel happiness every day. The rumination is gone, and although I still have anxiety I can now brush it away like water off a ducks back. I can focus on things throughout the day, go back to my normal hobbies, and listen to music! I used to have horrible insomnia, and that’s COMPLETELY gone. I do get tired from the lexapro, but it’s welcome considering how restless I was before. My sex drive is slowly coming back as well.
I’m so excited for summer and for so many things. My relationship with my boyfriend and friends are stronger, and I do still feel like I have my normal emotions. Truly a miracle drug.

Today's battle report is a 1000pt. Simple Battle, featuring a terrain piece that is pretty unique! Once again, my opponent is the dastardly daisucce. Per his request, the center of the map is dominated by a massive boring drill. The center control point is in the middle of it, with two arms (in green) that rotate 90 degrees clockwise after each Round. The center point is on elevated High Ground indestructible terrain; the arms are not invulnerable, however. Surrounding this is a massive black hole made by the drill; any units that fall in are considered destroyed by the massive bore.

I used a refined version of the strategy I employed in my first Roll20 Game; headed up by my Gouf Flight Type Ace and an Ace Gaw, both of which had Grand Strategist/Strategic Captain. Using the Captain's Order to increase movement speed, Dynamic Entrance, and a ton of Focus Actions, my goal is to break through the enemy lines as fast as possible to swarm daisucce 's higher priority units and secure the victory. To support this, I have a flight of Dopp Fighters, who can use elevated terrain easily due to their flight speed, trying to ping in chip damage and force activations with their relatively long range Aircraft Missiles.

daisucce and I brainstormed a strategy before this that might be to his liking. He has a particular affinity for Gundam Unit 4's Mega Bazooka Launcher, and wanted an army that could field two of them while having fodder take the heat. Using some input, this is what he came up with. He's going to use Pilot Traits with heavy Momentum generation, then further fuel his Momentum with a swarm of cannon fodder, using Rallying Leader to generate fuel for his death rays.

Round 1
I launch all of my units, except the Gouf Flight Type from the Gaw Carrier; the Carrier and Gouf give a pair of Focus Actions to my Doms and Zakus, then declare the Captain's Order to Take The Fight To Them!, increasing Movement Speed by +5" and Melee Block +1 for all my units. Seizing initiative, my Gouf Flight Ace zooms to the center control point, nearly knocks out a GM with its High Ground TA, then moves back to capture the point. It vainly returns fire. I move a Dopp in and fire off missiles; I'm trying to force daisucce to not immediately fire off his G04 Launchers, while also not giving him Momentum from killing his stuff. He responds by killing the Dopp, I move in and knock out the GM Early that killed it with a Zaku II TL Missile Pod attack with two Focus Actions.
He moves a GM Early onto the boring drill arm to attack my Gouf, but Awe Inspiring Arrival, a Shield, and Guard prevent any hits from connecting. My Doms move in, their enhanced speed letting them easily tear apart the offending GM with High Ground by popping their Focus Actions and laying into it with Machine Guns. Meanwhile, the G04's move onto the building they're behind, gain High Ground (equal level with the Gouf Flight Type) and try and fail to shoot it with Beam Rifles thanks to Unyielding.
Soon after, the Fly Mantas and Dopps engage, Ace Combat music obviously blaring in the background. My Dopps have a Movement Speed advantage thanks to the Captain's Order, with some also using the nearby terrain to gain TA and thus some free hits. The remainder of the Round involves some position jockeying, and my Gaw moving into position to provide close support, its movement speed doubled thanks to Full Throttle and the Captain's Order!
Round 2
Both players have started this Round with 10 Momentum due to how the last one went. Tension is in the air, and the Drill Arms move 90 degrees.
daisucce wins the die roll, and proceeds to dump bombs on my Dom. Rude! Being within its Sensors Range, the 10 Attack, 100 Damage Small Bombing Run is actually pretty good from a 10 Point Unit. My Dom moves back slightly, lights up the Fly Manta with a Machine Gun, then Melees a different one to death.
This is where things go wrong.
Using Tear Through The Ranks, daisucce has his Commander G04 activate, fire off the Mega Bazooka Launcher with High Ground TA against one group of my forces, fire off again and hit my Gaw and, then fire off a Beam Rifle at my Gouf Flight Type.. I lose all of my Zakus, most of my Dopps, and 1/3rd of my Gaw's HP. Amazingly, the drill arm survived all of this, and my Commander didn't take any hits (but had to use Unyielding.) He responds by bum-rushing the other, using High Speed Attack TA to try to kick the other G04 off the platform so it would lose LoS from activating its own death beam. This doesn't go so well, so I move my Gouf between the two, hoping that keeping them locked in Engagement Range with an Unyielding Commander would lock him down well enough. I manage to survive two bouts of Melee Clash with his G04 using Tear Through The Ranks, but he gains 4 Momentum from his Pilot Traits! Despite my best efforts, I lose one of my Doms to more Bombing Runs and High Ground Beam Spray Rifle Hits just inside of Target Lock... the situation has become completely hopeless, with a huge Momentum disparity, so I concede the game at the end of Round 2.
Conclusion
I'll be the first to say it; I played this completely wrong. My forces should have been more spread out, probably into three groups, and I should have placed down terrain more favorable for stacking up behind. If I could play this one again, I'd have tried using a different formation. This team is great, but I think it might have been a bad matchup; if I used Skilled Pilots, I could have tried to ignore his meatshield walls and focused on the Gundams.
Oh well! You learn more from losing than winning. daisucce has come a long way!

George wrote this information in the Not a blog April 8 post. I didn’t see anyone talk about this or change their theories so I decided to write about it and speculate on the possible consequences.
From the materials we know that Sam travelled from the Wall to Oldtown with the horn that Jon found at the Fist of the First Men. We know that the free folk were looking for a magical horn that could take down the wall but did not find it. Even though we do not know whether the horn that Sam has is the real one or if there is a real horn at all, given the new information I’m going to presume that the horn is indeed the real horn.
From the prologue of AFFC we know that there is a faceless man agent in old town who likely has interacted with Sam.
My theory is that Euron is working with the faceless men. The first part was getting rid of Balon Greyjoy and claim his. From there I think Euron wants to claim a dragon, but I don’t think he will succeed. After all, Moqorro is totally on Dany side and probably will persuade Victarion not to continue this crazy plan.
I really have no idea if Euron will represent the final evil or if he only want to obtain power through caos in westeros, but now we know that the wall will go down and judging by his fleet proximity to Oldtown, he will do it early in Winds.
Regarding the consequences: I don’t think that the wall going down will signify the immediate invasion of the others with a mass attack. The long night will be characterized by many attacks throughout the rest of the story.
I can see Stannis winning the battle of Winterfell, “perceive” the Wall fall and run to Castle Black. There Melisandre will convince him to burn Shireen to wake dragons from stone just to realize he was as delusional as the other Targaryens before him who tried to hatch dragons.

Hello, I'll try to keep this short, just looking for some advice from people already in the electrical trade.
I'm 28 and I've been working construction for the last 11 years (residential remodel, new home builds, commercial, etc), I have done and know how to do a lot in the construction field, and I've also been running my own small scale construction company for the last few months. My dad was an electrical contractor back in the day until he got injured, so I'm even somewhat familiar with basic electrical work.
My wife and I are expecting our first baby later this year, and I'd just like to go back to working for someone. Ever since I've started doing my own thing I've had hardly any free time and it has been a lot of headache already. I'd really like to get into an apprenticeship with a company if someone would take me on.
So my questions are, is it a good idea to get a resume together and just show up to a company and see if they'd give me a chance?
And will my 11 years of experience (with the same company all those years) help distinguish me from others just a little?
And like I said, I'm almost thirty with a child on the way, which I figured I'd bring up to a potential boss just to maybe give them some assurance I won't be some lazy slacker or something.

I'm considering optimizing my setup a little further and wanted some advice from our community.
Config:
Currently I have a NVR Pro with four 24TB drives spinning with Raid 10. My upstream gateway is a Unifi Dream Machine Pro Max with no drives, I have a mix of 14 cameras running 4k or 2k resolution.
In addition I have a decked out Synology DS3622XS+ with NVME read / write caches, and expansion up to 24 drives.
Situation:
An option Im considering is ditching the NVR Pro, put two drives in the Dream Machine Pro Max (Raid 1), which would decrease my rentetion time from 120 days to around 60, but then I could use RTSPS to long store any footage I wanted on my synology NAS. I have so much free storage there it would allow me to expand more freely and maintain less systems.
The downside is moving away from NVR Pro with Raid 10 to Raid 1 would decrease my on edge performance, but the UDM Pro Max has a SSD internal that they may be using for caching so Im not sure ...
What does everyone think? What is the better solution here?

I'm looking to run my first tournament on a course that I just help expand to 18 holes. It would be ideal if we could raise some money for tee pads (no pads currently), but I can't seem to find a breakdown for how the players fees cover everything. Let's just assume this is a AM only event to make answer easier. I know about all the PDGA fees (sanction, ins, per player, non-pdga), what I want to know is how to split up the net. 85% goes to packs and payouts (15% to the club/fundraiser?). Am I right that if I have 72 players at $40 entry free, minus PDGA, 15% is $396 for the fundraiser, and the 85% ($2244) is for packs and payouts? Thanks
