Hi! My family has owned a quaint roadside motel in Florida for many decades, with 35 rooms and a small crew of employees. I am the third generation, but only recently involved with this property, so please forgive if I sound like a noob. We are property owners, not hotel operators, however there happened to be a motel on this property and in this one case we have always owned the motel business and managed it from afar.
First Question: I am looking for a background check company that does not have a minimum annual number of checks, whose level 2 checks are specific to Miya's Law. Recommendations, or at least point me in the right direction? (I'm new to the group, I hope that question does not fall under "market research." Don't ban me!) We haven't hired anyone new in a while, so the news of the passing of Miya's Law in the state of FL sort of came and went, also the entire ownership family lives out of state so we definitely missed the memo about the new law. We suddenly had to hire 3 new employees recently and we have to run Level 2 background checks on them to be compliant with the new law. We only have a handful of employees, and I can't foresee having to run more than 2-3 background checks per year.
Second question: Does anyone have a link or a shareable form for applicants/employees to use to sign for informed consent to run a background check? I have spent all day scouring every corner of the internet and coming up empty. There has to be SOMETHING. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
Third question: Miya's law also requires key logs. We are a small motel with actual keys to the doors. We have one housekeeper who obviously enters rooms all the time, and we have one maintenance worker who enters rooms only as needed which is not often, and then we have a few front desk workers who have access to all the keys but do not go in rooms. What's the best way, in actual practice, to have a key log that isn't a burden on the employees? If it's easy to log, then they'll be most likely to keep doing it, right?

Anyone who is outside of FL and is now curious about Miya's Law, you can google Miya Marcano and Miya's Law Florida 2023 and you'll get the gist. Level 2 background checks include, but are not limited to, state and federal checks with a 7 year lookback period for convictions of crimes that are violent, fraudulent, abusive or negligent against children, the elderly or other vulnerable populations.

I got a new job and I'm expected to be within commuting distance of a NYC. Like many people, I found a rental in NJ across the river. It's in one of those typical high rises that are managed by some corporation. I have a long history of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and complex PTSD (C-PTSD). This has been documented numerous times in the past. Right after moving, I got attacked no too far from the building, and that terrorized me. My employer accepted letting me work remotely for a while and so I went back to stay with family in CT in the meantime until I can get this figured out. I got a police report for the attack, and I sought mental health services. Unfortunately, I'm still required to come back to the office on occasion, and particularly, if it is on short notice, my best option is that building. I've been trying to work on it, but once I'm back, I remember the incident, triggering my GAD and C-PTSD and I'm absolutely terrified.
I tried to call multiple lawyers in the entire state, but most of them just frankly told me they didn't really have awareness of the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and frankly most of them admitted representing landlords primarily.
The property management absolutely refuses to consider any early lease termination options or any amicable buy-out options. They said the best they can suggest is paying up the remainder of the lease to move out. That's a bit much. They won't look into any other options. In fact, they even said they will not take the keys back, which very much surprised me.
I've continued to pay rent so far and did not breach any lease term except for abandoning the unit, which the Landlord specified to purposely decided not to enforce. They clearly seem to only care for my money no matter what, and the matter of my well-being is of no importance. They're giving me non-sense about being advised about the safety in the area, but I mentioned it's not entirely different matter because I did not say I'm trying to break the lease for safety issues. I'm trying to break the lease because the attack triggered my mental disability, and due to work requirements, I will need to seek local housing elsewhere in order to reasonably fulfill my work obligations.
I would like to recall that the FHA has nothing to do with the circumstances being within the control of the Landlord whatsoever. Pointers:

1. What reasonable accommodations can I seek under the Fair Housing Act? (Remember, the FHA has nothing to do with the Landlord's ability to control the circumstances.)

Hey everyone!
I'm hoping some former school leaders here can offer some advice. I'm about to start my fifth year as an Assistant Principal, and I'm moving to a new school in July due to district changes. There's a good chance I could become a principal in a couple of years, but I'm feeling increasingly discouraged by the work-life balance and long hours, especially now that I'm a father of two. Plus, I'm not thrilled with how my state is handling education.
I feel a bit stuck in my role and have been considering other options, but I'm unsure what those could be. My first inclination is project management. I've been reading intro books and listening to podcasts, and it seems like a good fit. However, I've heard it's tough to break into that field right now.
I've always been interested in educational technology, particularly integrating AI to streamline processes at my school. My current boss says my some of my key strengths are organization, process and systems development, and relationship building. I also enjoy the people aspect of leadership, like recruitment, retention, and professional development.
If anyone has advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's a tough spot because I can't afford to take a pay cut, but I feel confident in my soft skills and would love to to learn any new technical skills needed.

I wanna think GTA V had a terrific immersive online experience, I thought it was at first, but then it got outta hand. So...I haven't played online since the Heist update back in 2014-2015, so I dunno what else has changed since. All I know is that it has gotten bigger and bigger with...stuff...crazy stuff, like hoverbikes, subs, railguns, whatever.
First of all there's no custom free roam sessions, that means:

• Your always visible all the time, have to call Lester to hide yourself on the map for ONE MINUTE.
  
• Online from the start went from 16 to now 32 players in a lobby, creating more chaos.
  
• You can't turn off Auto-Aim for everyone and you have to spam the roll button if you wanna counter.
  
• You'll spawn somewhere close to the action, always!
  

Some mechanics were pointless (like singing in the shower). There's no other fun places to be other than Los Santos. So all and all I just hope they bring back Custom Free Roam or have these defaulted in the following:

• If you turn Auto-Aim off nobody can target you or you target them, period.
  
• When you spawn you'll be spawn inside the nearest "safezone" (where player's can't attack: like Strip clubs, Night clubs, Ammunation, Hospitals, Hideouts, Yachts, Etc.) and will have a transitioning animation from an activity your doing. If you die near your spawn location, you'll spawn to another near location.
  
• Instead of just a blip you have a "search radius", shooting will cause your radius to shrink to a blip. Being in a crew will show your crew's blips.
  
• Ducking should hide your gamertag completely.
  
• Instead of a Passive Mode lets have an Anonymous mode. In Anonymous mode your gamertag and radius, including everyone else, are invisible from the map indefinitely, but you are not invincible. If you happen to attack a player who is considered "unstable" or "wanted" during Anonymous mode you'll still remain active. Anonymous mode will be locked if:
  

1. Your Mental State reaches "Unstable" and beyond.
   
2. You have a wanted star.
   
3. Your part of a crew.
   
4. Your doing a Random Event.
   

Anyway, that's my two cents on the matter, I just want a more immersive and grounded GTA for once and nothing arcadi. I wanna see in the comments what other improvements / features you want to see.

It emerged as a promising candidate during our discussions, and we believe it warrants a closer technical examination to understand its suitability for our BlockDAG project.

We'll be resuming our exploration of BlockDAG mining implementation. As a reminder, Mondays are typically filled with planning meetings. Building on our initial discussion about mining algorithms, let's focus on RandomX.
We'll explore the technical aspects of RandomX to assess its viability. What is RandomX protocol and let's understand the importance for us RandomX has become a cornerstone for many blockchain projects prioritizing decentralization and fair mining practices. This Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm stands out for its focus on CPU utilization, making it resistant to specialized hardware like ASICs.
There are various reasons why we're considering it as an optimized algorithm for us:
Performance Optimization:
While RandomX is CPU-centric, knowledge of its workings can help optimize mining software for better performance on specific CPU architectures. CPU mining allows regular users to participate in the mining process, fostering a more inclusive network.
Security Audits:
Familiarity with RandomX's design principles can aid in security audits, allowing you to identify potential vulnerabilities in your own PoW implementation. The algorithm leverages established cryptographic tools like AES, Blake2, and Argon2 to ensure overall security.
As we claim for performance and security this protocol has been our very first choice for the algorithm.
RandomX in BlockDAG:

In a BlockDAG blockchain, transactions will be represented as vertices in a graph, and blocks are not necessarily organized in a linear sequence.
RandomX algorithm Here's how the RandomX algorithm could be adapted for BlockDAG:
Transaction Inclusion: Miners select transactions from the DAG to include in the block they are mining. These transactions will be chosen based on factors like transaction fees and priority.
RandomX Initialization:
The RandomX algorithm initializes a dataset based on the state of the DAG. However, since the DAG structure may change dynamically with new transactions, the dataset initialization process needs to account for this by incorporating the latest DAG state.
Cache Initialization:
Miners create a cache from the RandomX dataset, as before, but they may need to adjust the cache creation process to accommodate the DAG structure. Each mining thread creates its own cache, potentially incorporating different parts of the dataset based on the DAG state.
Mining Process:
Miners execute the RandomX hashing function on the cache and the block data, as before. The resulting hash is compared against the target difficulty, and if it meets the criteria, the miner successfully mines a block.

1. Verification: Other nodes in the network verify the mined block by independently executing the RandomX hashing function and validating the transactions included in the block. Since the blockchain is DAG-based, nodes may need to traverse the DAG to verify the transactions' validity.

RSS Vercingetorix, Independence-Class Carrier, 2174 A.D.
Vice-Admiral Mei Zhou had just finished making the final changes to the fleet’s reconnaissance patrol routes with her senior staff when the comm panel on her desk chirped, displaying an incoming comm request from Admiral Thompson. She quickly thumbed the pad being offered by her aide so that he could issue the orders they were just working on and turned to the rest of her staff. “Nice job, people. Let’s get to work. Dismissed.” As the staff filed out the door, she started entering the codes needed to decrypt the incoming comm channel and looked up to make sure the room was empty. She pressed the open channel icon, and Admiral Thompson’s holo image appeared in front of her desk, ending just below his waist and making it seem as if he was actually there, sitting.
“Mei, how’s your new ship treating you?” he asked, smiling. “She is an absolute beauty, Karl. I still can’t believe that she is mine.” She responded, returning his smile. “What can I do for you, Karl?” Thompson chuckled, and his holo image leaned back as he reclined in his chair. “Straight to business; I always liked that about you, Mei. Alright, here we go. We have received intelligence reports that the Commonwealth has begun evacuating one of their last remaining coreward periphery worlds that is now dangerously close to the expanded Insectoid border. We have also received an update from our spy drones in that same region that six Hive ships and almost four hundred cruisers that were patrolling their side of that border area have disappeared. This is too much of a coincidence, and I want you to detach a combat patrol and send them there.” Thompson finished speaking, and a flashing icon popped up on her comm panel, indicating that she had just received new orders. She tapped it and quickly scanned the new orders as the admiral waited. She looked up at his holo image. “Karl, I acknowledge receipt of the new orders and will implement them. Between me and you, why are we getting involved with this? The Commonwealth has a navy, and they should be fighting to protect their space. We can’t keep coming to the rescue and defending their members; we are already spread too thin as it is.”
Thompson nodded his head in agreement. “Mei, I agree with you in principle, but there are social and political considerations involved here. The near extinction of the V’rni has caused considerable turmoil among the citizens of the Republic. They know logically that we could not have stopped such an attack like that one, but the perceived failure to protect them or prevent the attack still weighs heavily on their souls. The Commonwealth is currently attempting to evacuate the Jaleen system, and they are one of the last surviving members that voted yes before our petition to join the Commonwealth was denied. It also doesn’t help that the Jaleeni are avowed pacifists and look like bipedal Newfoundland dogs. They are technically a bear-like species, but to humans, they look like humanoid dogs, and the government is unwilling to lose the popular support it currently enjoys by allowing the Jaleeni to be exterminated. I mean, look at these guys.”
Another flashing icon popped up on her screen a moment later, and she pressed it. It turned into a hologram depicting a typical Jaleeni family of a mother and father with a litter of six pups, and she couldn’t help but smile as she looked at the photo. They were wearing their traditional rough-spun linen clothes that made them look like dogs cosplaying as monks. They looked adorable, and she felt her heart melt while staring into their deep brown eyes, which looked sad. She understood the reasoning behind it, especially after the mass extinctions that occurred in Earth’s biosphere because of World War 3.
After the war, humanity had an awakening when they surveyed their destroyed world and came to terms with the disappearance of thousands of species and the near extinction of thousands of others. What followed were three generations of desperate measures to salvage what remained and a worldwide effort at habitat restoration and de-extinction efforts utilizing a wide array of methods such as back-breeding, cloning, and genome editing. Dogs were almost driven to extinction by the war as they were uniquely susceptible to the BioChem weapons that were developed and refined by the Eastern Coalition animal testing on poor innocent canine subjects. Between the Biochem weapons, owner deaths, abandonment, and starvation, almost 90% of the domesticated canine population and entire breeds were lost by the war’s end. Cats fared much better, but they still suffered a loss of almost half of their pre-war population, and a large percentage of the survivors reverted to a feral state. The result of all of this was an almost religious reverence for the preservation of sentient animal life on human worlds and a somewhat fanatical tendency of humans to take on the mantle of guardians for sapient alien species that resembled animals to them.
“Karl, I understand; I do. I just don’t like the fact that we are operating on so many fronts. Some of our fleets and task forces are patrolling areas far enough away that I worry about them getting reinforcements on time if they are attacked, and now my fleet is being partitioned to send a combat patrol almost three hundred light-years away from our current position. After the assault on the V’rn system, half of our combat power was recalled to Republic space to prevent the same thing from happening to us, and yet we are still being tasked with properly defending Eleani and Xenxin territory with half the ships we had before. Have they lost their damn minds at HQ?” She realized she was almost yelling at the admiral, and Mei took a deep breath, recognizing that her outburst was unbecoming of a Republic naval officer. She attempted to quickly apologize to Admiral Thompson. “Karl, I’m sorry that was uncalled for-“
The admiral raised a hand to stop her, an amused expression in his eyes. “Mei, I said the exact same thing to my boss as you did almost verbatim, and not as diplomatically as you, I might add. My concerns were addressed to my satisfaction, and I think yours will be when you get to your destination. There will be a task force joining you there, and I think you will be pleased. That is all I can say for now over the comms. You will lead the combat patrol to the coordinates listed in the orders you received, and the task force joining you there will fall under your command. I have a personal favor to ask of you. Please keep an open mind when you link up with the task force. You will rendezvous with Commodore Therax, and he is instrumental in our efforts to undermine the increasingly despotic Commonwealth government. More information about him and the Nekuli were added to your orders, make sure you review it. I took a big gamble on this, and I would be grateful if you did your best to make this collaboration work. That is all for now, and I wish you and your crews good fortune and godspeed, Mei. Take care of yourself.” The admiral finished speaking, and Mei noted the personal nature of his last few words, nodding an affirmative to his request.
“Admiral, I thank you for your words, and we won’t let you down. I need to issue the orders now to get there and link up with the task force on time. I’ll send a null space comm drone to the nearest relay to confirm our arrival and integration. Vice-admiral Zhou out.” As she leaned towards the comm panel to close the channel, she saw Admiral Thompson doing the same, and he gave her a wink and a mischievous smile before she pressed the icon, terminating the connection. She leaned back in her chair and blew out a deep breath. “Now what the hell was that all about?” She asked out loud to herself, as the confusing and secretive nature of her orders and the personal request of the admiral added to the uncertainty of what she was expected to do. She keyed her wrist pad and texted her aide to come back to her office for new orders. He was going to be livid that they just wasted half a day revising the patrol routes to maximize efficiency and increase their patrol range. A small smile crossed her lips as she waited. He had an obvious tell of his lower left eyelid spasming when he was mad despite displaying no emotions on his face, and she knew it drove him nuts that he couldn’t control it. Witnessing it was one of the small joys she had in her difficult job as vice-admiral, and she was looking forward to it.
Fifty-six hours later, her task force flashed out of null space at the designated coordinates and right on time. She felt a measure of pride as she watched her bridge crew go about confirming their location and verifying it with the navigational array and astrometric sensors. Once the navigator gave her confirmation that he verified their position, she turned towards the comms officer and ordered her to send a burst transmission with the pre-arranged code and waited for the response. A few seconds later, the comms officer raised her left hand and signaled receipt and confirmation of the code by the task force waiting in null space. An agonizingly long minute crawled along as she anxiously waited for her navigator to confirm the telemetry from his counterpart in the other task force as they verified their positions. The navigator activated the main viewscreen on the forward bulkhead as they waited. Suddenly, there were a multitude of exit flashes 200,000 kilometers from the bow of her carrier, and hundreds of warships appeared at a dead stop relative to her position.
Her jaw dropped as she took in the unexpected fleet in front of her. There were dozens of Commonwealth dreadnaughts, battleships, and heavy cruisers arrayed before her, as well as an additional one hundred and twenty light cruisers, destroyers, and missile frigates. On the flanks of the main formation, there were more exit flashes, and the bridge AI started categorizing them on the screen, and she saw that they were the new Eleani and Xenxin warships that she had been hearing about. They shared a design lineage with the Commonwealth ships, but there were definite differences that became obvious as they assumed their positions next to the Commonwealth navy ships. She was particularly intrigued by the Xenxin ships, as they seemed to be bristling with weapons, almost excessively so relative to their ship sizes. The Eleani ships seemed to have taken a different design philosophy, and they gave the impression of deadly speed and grace, and she was hard-pressed to spot any obvious weapons on their hulls despite the AI confirming that the ships were indeed well-armed.
There was another coded signal from null space that appeared on the comm station panel, and her comm officer turned to her. “Vice-admiral, we have received a coded message on the sigma frequency for your eyes only that requires biometric and voice verification to decrypt.” Zhou nodded and pressed a button on her arm panel, activating the privacy screen around her chair and feeling the pressure change as the bridge around her became opaque and silent. She pressed the biometric toggle on the panel, and a retinal scanner popped out of its alcove on the side. She leaned in and scanned her right eye first, then her left. An icon appeared on the screen, and she thumbed it as it flashed and confirmed the print. Finally, she spoke and addressed the bridge AI: “Suzy, please confirm the voice command for verification.” The AI answered immediately. -Of course, Vice-Admiral Zhou, please proceed.- “Zhou, one-red-seven-green-four-tango-alpha-zero. Execute.” -Voice command verified. Thank you, Vice-Admiral Zhou.-
A small holographic display popped up in front of her; the admiral appeared on the screen, and his pre-recorded message started playing. “Mei, I know all this cloak and dagger stuff seems excessive, but we couldn’t take any chances. The receipt of this message will activate a program in your bridge AI and allow it to take control of the new drone ships waiting for you in null space. They are a new class of upgraded null ships and are top secret. Your AI will anchor them to your task force, and they will follow you, remaining hidden in null space unless you absolutely need them.”
“There are also two troopships with them that are carrying a complement of two thousand Mark XII ATS Bio-Synths and an expeditionary brigade each of rangers and pathfinders in stasis. This IT security company (NZ company #: 1117026) obtained grants from the NZ Government (a director was friends with John Key who was friends with Tim Grosser) & misused the money. In 2012, Mako had a major unsecured creditor (MUC) whose agreement stated that Mako wouldn’t permit any creditor to become a major secured creditor. In 2013, Spark (then Telecom) became a major secured creditor of Mako, knowingly breaching the above agreement.
Mako lied to & took money from investors, paid its 4 directors millions of dollars, failed to meet tax obligations, traded while insolvent & liquidated in 2015. 10s of creditors were owed over $30M. Spark recovered a small amount & the rest received nothing. The Mako business was moved to another company, & continued to financially &/or reputationally benefit the directors.
The MUC is involved in multi-year litigation to try to recover some money. The directors are the defendants. Their actions include delaying, obstructing, frivolously appealing, evading being served papers, lying, creating evidence, & paying witnesses to say that they are independent & lie. Despite this, judges have condoned or praised their actions (their political connections are presumably relevant). The litigation has been extremely expensive & could be a case study of inefficiency.

So last year i got a samsung watch so that I didnt have to carry my phone for runs anymore and track some others things like heart rate/cal loss whilst using the strava app But ive noticed lately that the info that gets posted on strava is a bit different from what my watch tells me on the run
Firstly my start/end points are usually wrong (waited for the gps to lock which i thought would fix the issue but hasnt)
And my distance and timings are usually incorrect For example last night i did a 2.4km run with a 12min finish time according to the strava app on my watch But when it synced and uploaded on my phone it only showed a 1.7km run with a 7 min time Not sure if its tracking late or if the tracking is finishing early but as stated above the start/end points where pretty off (almost no where near my actual start/end points) As far as im aware all the permissions have been allowed and ive turned power saving mode off so not fully sure whats going on with it
Ive also noticed that on the map itself that sometimes (mostly happens when i use my phone but happens on the watch aswell) that the trail is incorrect (reckons i ran accross the road or did loops in places i didnt) Any help/advice with this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks 🤙

Hi all-
I have a complex (failed palate expansion) damage case, so I had to find an ortho that specializes in treating my type of case. My treatment team (perio and ortho) is out of state, but they've asked me to find and partner with a local ortho here in FoCo who can do periodic scans and checkups during my Invisalign treatment. They need CBCT and I-Tero scans periodically.
Does anyone know or see an orthodontist who does this stuff? And maybe one who can sell me an Invisalign PulTool or OrthoKey as well? :)
