She let two HUGE threats make it to the final five. Charlie and Maria would both beat her at FTC, and at least one of them is now guaranteed final four. Kenzie needs a f3 with Ben and Liz, which means that Charlie or Maria (whoever makes final four) would need to lose the immunity challenge AND firemaking. Charlie and Maria are two of the best challenge performers of the entire season (five combined immunity wins). It’s awful for kenzies game that one of them has now made final four.
I think she should have been aiming for a f4 with Q Liz and Ben. She had a golden opportunity to blindside Charlie while letting Maria and Q think they’re still running the show. I get that Kenzie was tired of Q and wanted him out, but it’s pretty clear that Maria and Q are on the bottom anyways. If Kenzie pushed the Charlie vote, I’m sure Liz would tag along similar to how she did with the Tiffany vote. Charlie is simply a bigger threat to win than Q is.
technically this logic also applies for Liz. But Liz is drawing dead anyways… and so I can’t knock her too much for wanting to get rid of her Applebees nemesis. Kenzie, on the other hand, has a very real shot to win. Yet she just saw two people she can beat go home back to back (Venus and Q) while two people she will lose to have advanced to the finale (Charlie and Maria). At least one of them will be guaranteed firemaking.
And yea it’s true Q has an idol. But Kenzie didn’t know that. So I can’t give her a ton of credit for flushing an idol she didn’t know existed

Went to the movies the other night to see the new planet of the apes movie. While the trailers were going on the three boomers next to me were talking full volume. Now I don’t expect people to be silent during the trailers (even though it still bothers me) but I let it go.
The lights go down and the opening starts and I still hear a bit of chatter but I figure that was them finishing their conversation. The first frame of the movie is some exposition. The man boomer starts READING THE TEXT OUT LOUD AND ASKING QUESTIONS I assume to his wife. WHO ANSWERS THEM.
I was like nope I’m going to shut this down before they feel like they can do this the whole time. I lean over and say “would you please not talk during the movie.” The woman next to me gives me a confused look but then I see her lean over to the other two boomers she’s with and points at me while saying “he says to stop talking.”
Fine they stop for maybe 10-15 minutes and then the chitter chatter starts again at a very low volume. I kind of accept my fate that I’ll be annoyed through the whole movie and keep thinking if i say something again or go grab an employee to back me up. I end up doing neither until the final moments of the movie. No spoilers but during the resolution of the film, important moment in any movie, they’re back to talking full volume. I’m livid at this point because I was really invested in the story. So i lean over and loudly shush them. The woman closest to me looks disgusted for a second then shushes me back and says “oh you go shush yourself!”
At this point my hearts racing cuz I am not a confrontational person, just really passionate about not having people talk during movies lol. I know this is nothing compared to some of what yall have experienced I was just stunned at the audacity. If I ever bothered someone in public and they asked me to stop whatever it was that bothered them I would just sink into myself so self conscious and feeling bad and embarrassed. Rant over lol.

My baby is four months and one week old and he’s fighting going to sleep like crazy since Saturday… it is an absolute screaming fit everytime I try to get him to sleep.
He basically requires all naps be contact. I’m lucky if I can transfer him to the crib for 20 mins but I will need to pick him up around then to extend his nap to the 1.5-2 hour mark. I don’t really mind the contact nap part, it’s just the screaming to get there… At night I very rarely have to pick him up once he’s down for the night. I do a dream feed at around 11 pm but he goes right back down after that without issue. If he fusses at night, a little pat and a soother is typically enough to calm him.
His first nap off the day is around 1 hour 15 minutes after he wakes up. He typically sleeps for around 2 hours. Then we’re up a bit longer and then another long nap - around 1.5 hours. Up a bit longer, 45 min or so nap and then a little cat nap between then and bed around 20-30 mins.
He’s still getting these times in for the most part, it’s just the absolute fight to get him asleep in the first place.
Is this sleep regression stuff or did I break my baby somehow???? We were on SUCH a good track with naps for the last three weeks or so and then BAM he is consistently putting up the biggest fight.
Tips? Advice? Did this happen to you? I’m not really interested in crying it out but I respect the fact that it works for many.

2024.05.16 23:34 LaserGuyVII While there's still no truly perfect streaming device, I think it's time to stop telling people to "just buy a Shield". Please offer any corrections to my write-up as we try to figure out the best device to be recommending people in 2024.

Welcome to my Plex Client TED Talk

First off, yes, I know that most people don't need the "supremely ultimate" streaming solution (perfect Dolby Vision w/ FEL + Lossless audio + third-party streaming app compatibility). The answer is ultimately hardware and user-dependent. That being said, we get a dozen posts here a month asking what the best all-in-one streaming device is for those who do want Dolby Vision/lossless audio, and most of the time they are either recommended the Shield or an Apple TV from what I can tell. For reasons I'll get into and you may or may not already be well aware of, neither of these do both of those things perfectly (or at all).
That's what makes it so hard to do your own research on this particular subject - there's too much confusion about which devices can do what and too much outdated info on Plex and elsewhere. On top of that people so often come out as blatantly rude defending their device of choice because "there's no other option", which discourages discussion. I had to spend hours upon hours combing through old Reddit threads, forum posts, technical spec breakdowns, and ultimately gamble on purchasing devices myself before I found truly definitive answers that I didn't have to triple guess.

NVIDIA Shield

First off, let's credit the Shield for its longtime reign on the throne as the ultimate all-in-one streaming device for Plex. It handles lossless audio, has a nice interface, and supported Dolby Vision for quite a while there for both remuxes and streaming apps. However, it is getting old, still costs around $200 USD, and there are an increasing number of DV movies with FEL layer (this spreadsheet isn't a complete list) with more coming out every month. Some studios now release ALL their UHDs with FEL.
The Shield doesn't handle these FEL rips properly, and even if you can live with the red tint it adds to FEL movies, we are primarily a group of tech-savvy users and enthusiasts with theater setups with equipment in the thousands of dollars range. We shouldn't be recommending a rather pricey 5-year old device and sometimes glitchy streaming device with a blatantly obvious visual issue to people who could do better with their viewing experience and their wallets (I may end up eating these words later). Dolby Vision and OLED is becoming more commonly used as people upgrade their TVs - this is not a niche enthusiast technology anymore even if the average consumer still doesn't understand exactly DV is/does. Having the red tint isn't something that everyone with a Shield streaming FEL remuxes should have to live with.

Devices without Lossless Audio

There are several other devices that are consistently recommended here that don't support lossless audio in Plex, including but not limited to:

Apple TV (Only does DD+, even with Infuse as far as I understand)
Roku
TVs (yes, even with eARC)
Chromecast (CCwGTV, Ultra)

Please stop telling people that these are capable of blu-ray quality lossless audio. They are not.

Possible Solution Device(s)

So, where does that leave us? There are some enthusiast-level options like Dune and Zidoo players. I don't know a ton about them, but I know they are compatible with lossless audio codecs. Someone else will have to comment if they are capable of playing back FEL layer natively (not sure if they have a secondary decoder or not). The Ugoos AM6B Plus with CoreELEC seems to be the only device in the world I have seen online of that can do FEL perfectly and works with Atmos and DTS:X lossless audio.
Still, I know these types of players are not as user friendly as a Shield or ATV and can be a pain to use normal streaming apps on. Plus they cost as much or more than the Shield does.
That leaves us with one or two other devices depending on how you look at it. The most cost effective in my opinion? The New 4K Fire Stick Max that released about 6 months ago. With 20 minutes of setup that anyone here could walk someone through, this device gets you 95% of the way there. There are still caveats to consider. Still, I believe that this is the single best device on the market for those who want a reasonably modern UI/UX (amazon toxic ad-fest aside), use regular streaming apps in addition to Plex, need compatibility with all DV profiles + FEL and lossless audio, AND most importantly, want the best bang for their buck (currently available for ~$35 USD with an Amazon coupon). It even supports HDR10+ for the tiny amount of UHDs that support that.
It is by no means perfect, though. Let's look at the 4K Fire Stick Max caveats:

Ridiculous amount of ads (possibly could be mitigated with a different launcher or PiHole?)
Have to install Kodi + PM4K (Plex) addon
- Kodi has some additional setup to passthrough all audio codecs and convert DV P7 w/ FEL -> P8.1
  - This DV profile conversion supposedly does affect color accuracy, though I can't see much of a difference personally. More testing needs to be done by people with nicer equipment and more technical knowledge than I possess
Native Plex app doesn't support DTS-HD MA or DTS:X. You have to use Kodi with PM4K.
No ethernet

It remains to be seen if the Shield's red tint issue is worse than whatever color problems crop up when converting DV P7 -> P8.1 on the Fire Stick Max with Kodi's feature set. Not even considering that the Fire Stick is $150+ less, I'd rather go with occasional minute coloring issues versus a blanket red push on my entire movie.
The importance of the lack of ethernet depends on the user's wifi setup. I have a 3 year old Wifi 6 Google router and I can watch any 4K rip I've thrown at it, up to the 100mb/s range without any problem. The Fire Cube 3 is basically a beefed up Fire Stick Max, so this is an option if you absolutely must have ethernet, but you'll need a $10 USB to ethernet adapter. The USB port is only 2.0, but you can still get 250-350 MB/s with an adapter, more than enough for streaming anything.
Another potential device I have not tested is the Amazon Fire Cube 2, which supposedly can sideload CoreELEC and thereby gain full FEL/lossless capabilities. I cannot verify that, so if someone can speak to it please do. Even so, it is an older device and the setup requires at least a little more work than the Fire Stick Max/Cube 3.

Conclusion and Other Considerations

Ultimately, there isn't a perfect device that can do absolutely everything, especially for the average user, and there's literally nothing in existence that can do it all using the native Plex app. If Plex on the new Fire Stick Max worked out of the box, then it would be near-perfect, but the addition of needing Kodi adds some one-time complication.
Even if you use the Ugoos AM6B+, it seems like you may have a hard time with third-party streaming apps despite its proficiency with 4K UHD remuxes. The Amazon devices have many pitfalls and require some extra setup, but the cost of the Fire Stick Max in particular makes it (in my opinion) easier to look past some of them. $50 or less is a lot more reasonable than $200 when recommending a device.
As for what device to recommend to others, it's going to be a mixed bag. Ultimately it depends on what the user needs as I mentioned in my first paragraph. If they only care about Dolby Vision and not lossless audio, just using a Smart TV's apps may be best. If they want lossless but have a Samsung TV and therefore can't use Dolby Vision, a Shield still may be their best bet, or a PS5/Xbox. It all depends.
I personally only use the Fire Stick Max when I watch a rip of any disc I own that has DV+FEL (or HDR10+). If I watch anything else on Plex like a regular blu-ray rip, a 4K rip with just HDR10, or watch something in a different streaming app, I use my Series X, which can do HDR10 and lossless audio just fine.

I hope that this is a helpful post and sparks some interesting discussion for those who stuck with me to the end. Please offer any corrections to my claims, though I do feel as though I have researched this pretty exhaustively short of spending thousands to buy and test every possible device against one another myself. I hope it helps anyone who comes looking for an answer to the question of which device(s) to get for their Plex setup.

Spoilers for TMP including episode 16, as well as TMA.
So a few days ago I made a post on here saying it seemed to me that the drowning victim was intoning in the same way we see Jon do in season 5 of the magnus archives. While that's still a possibility, I have more thoughts about this character and her potential role in the story.
While I haven't had nearly as many problems as other people with the audio balancing for the show so far, episode 15 was the first one that I struggled with, especially at the end with the victim in the alleyway. So I decided to look through the transcript and see what she was actually saying. And I have to say it's a damn shame it's not easier to hear because the writing in this section is incredible. Absolutely love it. I've read through it several times now just because I love how it is written.
But it also made me realize, I think it's possible Alice was witnessing the birth of an Avatar, one that belongs to "The Depths" which seems to be a new entity (that I'd argue is a fusion of The Vast and The Buried, but that's not what this post is about). So let me go through and explain why I now think this:
The poem or statement or whatever you want to call it can be neatly divided into two sections, one before the victim "dies" and the other after Alice tries to resuscitate her and she starts speaking again.
Let's start with the pre-death section.

– The second time is up. I try to grasp the air and fill my lungs that burn and rattle full. I can’t. There’s so much air, but none inside as I go down. Again the cold surrounds and drags me down, the blue, the black, the weight of all the sodden fates awaiting me below the line – of sea and sky… I kick, I lunge, I flail, towards the brightened blue and break the third and final time. I know I’m spent. There is no more within me save the salt-spun death that reaches down my throat – and spasms in my chest, that cannot breathe inside me – coughs and sputters and tries to push it out – but more comes in – and down I go the third and final time – I know it’s done. –I’m done. The water is… is… dark

Fairly cut and dry as far as interpretation goes (pardon the pun). She's describing what I now think is likely her own experience drowning in an ocean somewhere. One important thing to note is that she comes up to the surface three times, drowning after the third attempt for air. We'll come back to that. It is in the description of going under for the third time that she seemingly dies, and Alice attempts to do CPR. But things get more interesting when we look at the second half.

–Deeper… Deeper… Down among the dead and swollen flesh so pale within this lightless place where – eyes are open cloudy white. And all the water pushes down upon a lifeless form – that sinks and sinks down to the bottom… that is not there. No sandy grave below the swell, no rest among the coral and the depths I feared… so much. But reached up and over land. To claim me still.

Seems to me she is describing her descent to the bottom of the ocean but instead something supernatural happens and she ends up coming back to the surface. But the depths still claim her and we're seeing how that effects her in this scene. Interesting to note she says "I feared" The beginning of her use of past tense while everything else is present tense. To me it suggests she no longer fears the depths, at least not in the way she used to. This tracks with how Avatars relate to their fears, they often start off afraid but it ends up twisting into a different kind of experience -- usually simultaneously afraid and drawn to their given "patron".
Then there is "to claim me still." This could be that she's still claimed as a victim, and we have seen the fears chase after victims who get away, notably Michael bringing Helen back into his halls after her initial escape. Unlike Helen though, it seems like she was completely at the mercy of the depths, and did nothing on her own to escape.
She also died, or nearly died, which seems to be an integral part of the "fully becoming an avatar" process. See: Mike Crew, Jonathan Simms, Jude Perry, Oliver Banks, Jane Prentiss.
Now in episode 16 we learn that when Alice came back she was just a dead body again, but remember the woman broke through the water three times, so I wonder if maybe she'll have to "die" and come back three times before finalizing her transformation.
I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into things, but she seemed way too interesting and important to just be a one-off victim to never be seen again. Alice even jokes that she'll probably show up in a case soon, and I truly wouldn't be surprised if we really do get an episode involving several hospital deaths by drowning, similar to how Jane Prentiss was believed to be dead only to come back and kill seven hospital staff members.
Still curious about the tape recorder. Maybe it's a red herring but considering she never reached the bottom of the ocean... I wonder if maybe she somehow crossed to TMP universe through this experience. That's much more of a reach, there could be plenty of other explanations for why she has a tape recorder but it's something to think about.

The decision to call for a strike authorization vote was made by the union in response to the brutal state-sanctioned assault on the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at UCLA, where a mob of Zionists assaulted a peaceful gathering of students and workers with tear gas, mace, explosives, and blunt objects.
Various law enforcement agencies stood by for hours as the attack continued unabated, only to conduct a violent sweep on the encampment the following day, firing rubber bullets and flashbangs at protestors.
Over 200 students, workers, faculty and community members were arrested for exercising their right to free speech and protest.
At the University of California, San Diego, dozens of students and workers were also attacked and arrested by law enforcement during a peaceful encampment protest on May 6.
The authorization of a strike in defense of workers rights to protest in support of Palestine is a major step forward for the U.S. labor movement and its ability to take clear anti-imperialist positions. Palestine is a moral issue, yes, but the actions and words of UAW 4811 show clearly that it is a worker’s issue as well.

Good afternoon Longs,
Great shareholder letter from Dr. JL today! But, I gotta chuckle regarding the CRC study being the number one priority. It reminded me of when Scott Kelly suddenly announced on some CC: "We are going be an Oncology company". Shareholders that heard the comment (including myself) were baffled. We have not seen any clinical trial animal or human that would have suggested anything of the sort. However, we were aware of some mice studies that were being conducted at MD Anderson (MDA). That study was a combo trial with LL/Keytruda, and somehow u/MGK2 or somebody found out or figured out the trial on mice was a CRC study. Sorry can't remember the details, but here we are again with Oncology being the front-runner for CytoDyn's priorities.
I am pleased with today's letter because it was obvious that Dr. JL is working with potential partners to further our clinical trial objectives. However, instead of a summer start for HIV Chronic Inflammation trial; we were told 2 phase II clinical trials would start before the end of the calendar year. The priority is the CRC trial and second is the HIV Chronic Inflammation trial.
I gotta ask: Why the a delay in starting any of the trials? There could be several reasons but IMO the partnerships being alluded to in the letter are the main reason for the delays. Dr. JL knows well and good that it is conventional wisdom to partner with BP to move forward on any trials. It is not the only way but most developmental drug companies (like CYDY) choose the conventional route and partner with BP to accomplish clinical trials.
According to the letter interest from 3rd party partners went up after the clinical hold was removed. But the MD Anderson CRC study was way long ago. It was during that time when Scott Kelly was able to state: "We are going to be an Oncology company". Keytruda is from Merck and we never heard the results of the trial at MDA. Just silence, and I am sure that we will not hear the Mice trial results for GBM that used a Merck drug either for some time. IMO, Merck has been here for some time and is not new to CYDY, or Leronlimab or the Long Acting LL.
Dr. JL moved the date out for initiating the trials to the end of 2024. Why? My impression of Dr. JL is he wants to get Leronlimab into patients in need ASAP. That would mean let us get the trials going ASAP, but we have no money to do it on our own. So why can't Merck just run the trials ASAP? They could! We just have to have a straightforward partnership agreement that would allow them to run the trials in return for potential revenue down the road. But is that intriguing?
From the letter: Research and development partnership opportunities are important to the Company as we search for cost-effective ways to further build out our product development portfolio. We have identified several such opportunities that we believe are intriguing, and anticipate finalizing agreements with these partners in the very near future. Such potential partnerships include an investigator-initiated pilot study of leronlimab in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease, and a project that will evaluate the use of leronlimab in patients living with HIV who are undergoing stem cell transplantation in a proof of cure study. Following lifting of the clinical hold, we have observed a significant increase in third parties that are interested in partnering with the Company. We will continue to review opportunities as they arise, given the potential for significant value return at little or no cost to the Company.
Look the investigator-initiated studies are "intriguing" and that will not cost CYDY much money at all. Just supplying the product. IMO pushing the beginning of the trial dates back from summer to end of 2024 is all about allowing for the intriguing negotiations to further develop. During that time several things will take place: Hopefully, we get the Alzheimer mice trial results done, which is more data on our ever-expanding indications that we have evidence on, not just a theory. The combo Stem-cell/LL study is a great way to create competition. Stem-cell companies like ATHX and MESO are non-drug companies and our direct competitors to any drug company. the stem cells that are devoid of the CCR5 molecule are very rare and stem-cell companies would have a hard time harvesting enough to build an adequate supply around. It's not sustainable. But a stem-cell supply pre-treated with LL is a different animal.
Essentially, Dr. JL wants to get LL in the hands of treating physicians ASAP, but he needs a little bit more time to expand the evidence that LL will work in multiple indications. in theory, we already know it has 90+ potential indications from ohm20's list. Plus, Dr. JL needs a little bit more time to show the true value of the Long Acting LL. Or Long Acting goes to LIVIMMUNE and CYDY/LL is part of a BO.
We know a BO announcement is not solid on just a list of theories. It works better when you list that positive clinical signals have been shown for MASH, CRC, mTNBC, PASC, HIV and a boatload of CCR5 published articles that implicate a slew of other indications. If Long Acting is included in the CYDY BO, then Dr. JL has to show some similar amount of evidence (Monkey data) and that would be accretive to the overall value of CYDY.
Merck quote at JP Morgan Healthcare conference in San Francisco: Merck CEO Rob Davis said at the 42nd Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco on January 8, 2024, that the company is open to deals of any size, but is not interested in large-scale acquisitions that would require combining workforces. Davis made these comments after the company's $680 million acquisition of Harpoon Therapeutics earlier in the day.

If Merck is involved, then Dr. JL, Mitch, and Cyrus are going to do all they can to show evidence on multiple indications that will increase CYDY's valuation to $15 Billion or so. Basically, with CYDY's outstanding share count at or very near 1 billion shares that equates to $15 per share. The only reason we partner now is because the partner wants more evidence of clinical efficacy, but that partner is going to realize pretty quickly that if they wait too long the bidding war is going to cost them more than $15 Billion.

2024.05.16 23:25 Born_Radio3272 The day got away from me

For context, I have anxiety, ADD, & have been dealing w/ a health issue (which I’m leaving undisclosed) for the past 2 1/2 months, so naturally, my health anxiety has been through the roof.
I woke up & got ready for my day as usual w/ no distractions, but then my anxiety took over. The weather has been AWFUL all week where I live so of course that helped set the mood. I’m also on summer break & had the day off from work while my parents & siblings were at either work or school, so I was home alone all day. From 8-9:45am I was either pacing the house unable to control my breathing, or sitting & staring at the wall crying my eyes out. I picked myself back up & made breakfast while I watched TV.
By this point it’s quarter to 11 & I planned to finish a season for a show, but my nonexistent attention span got the best of me & I doom scroll on my phone for almost an hour. I end of getting to my show but later pause it so I can work out. By this point it’s 1pm. Halfway through my workout I take a breather, but a quick thought ends up distracting me & I then pace around my room for 15 minutes in a tearful frenzy for no reason. Again. I regain composure, finish my workout, & shower. It’s now 2:30.
I go downstairs to make a late lunch where I was going to use the oven. I smelled burning from the oven & in a complete panic over possibly setting off the smoke detector, I shut the oven off, open all of the windows & doors, & have a full blown panic attack.
I called my Mom completely defeated. Nobody was home & I felt so isolated. It was so cloudy & gloomy outside that all of the rooms were dim, even w/ all of the lights on. In the blink of an eye the whole day got away from me & I felt so useless as if I haven’t done anything all day, even though I really tried to be proactive. The setting & mood for both my house & the outdoors felt like a blank void where time didn’t matter. It was as if I was stuck in limbo for the entirety of the day. I felt so pathetic having a breakdown over the phone w/ my Mom even though I’m almost 20. She consoled me & gave me a very gentle pep talk, which fortunately assured me.
I ate my lunch & drank some tea while I threw on a show I enjoy. I reminded myself that it’s not too late to turn my day around. By 3:15 I left the house for the first time all day, went thrift shopping, & grabbed some boba. I’m now home & it’s 5pm. I’ve just been lounging on my bed for the last hour or so. My hair is a frizzy mess from the weather, I’m dressed in grey sweats, I’m broken out all over my face bc I’m due for my time of the month soon, & my eyes are red & puffy from crying all day.
I’m gonna dress cute later & head out w/ my family to see my sibling perform in a school concert. I’m gonna finish that season of my show, & get ready for work tomorrow. I had a very off day, but everyone will have them sometimes. The day went too fast for my mind to handle, but at least it didn’t drag. The weather here should clear up by Sunday or Monday. I need to learn to let go of bad days & not let my obsession w/ structured routines get the best of me. Every day is going to look different, & it’s certainly not good to be busy every day of the week to the point of being overworked.
I can’t guarantee myself that tomorrow will be better, but there is always tomorrow. My health issue will eventually go away. I’ll be happy again. I have family & friends to reach out to if I’m having a hard time. My life is filled w/ blessings. My mind is always drawn to the brightest side of life. Happiness & joy are meant to fill every part of me. I’m healthy. I’m loved. Bad feelings are only temporary. I’m safe. I’ve done this before so I can do it again. I’m capable. I take things one step at a time. I inhale peace & exhale worry. I choose to feel good.
Tomorrow’s a new day.

2024.05.16 23:24 Beginning-Remove7915 15 years brain fog

I am 35 and my brain fog started while I was in college.
The best way I have to describe it is that post waking up groggy feeling. For most, that groggy feeling goes away after some time in the morning, but for me it’s constant. Some days it’s worse and some days it’s “lighter” but it’s always there.
I’ve tried some remedies but, to be honest, I’ve just been living with it and trying to ignore the best I can. I consider myself successful and have had a great life so far: married with two kids, spent 8 years in the military and then went right to business school, I graduate this summer and I’m starting an awesome post-military career path. By all the standard metrics, I’m a healthy adult.
I’ve seen a bunch of doctors and my blood work always comes back normal. My last military doc referred me to a head doc who said I have a normal degree of anxiety.
If I had to guess, I’ve probably been running myself too hard the last 15 years. Never been devoted to quality sleep and I power through with caffeine, I drink (used to be a lot but have significantly cut down since leaving the service), eat well but don’t really limit myself. Not sure if this is chronic fatigue or depression or all diet related.
Anyway, I’m posting here because my wife and I are committing to figuring it out. The more I’ve told her about my symptoms the more she wants to help. She says it’s makes her sad to learn how much I’ve struggled with this. I’m so lucky to have her.
We are starting with an elimination diet and dialing in our sleep. I figured I will do those two things for the next couple of months and see how things shake out. Then start seeing doctors again.
I’ll keep you guys posted!

Android 15 will block users from installing apps with a target SDK version ≤ 23. Previously, Android 14 blocked apps with target SDK version ≤ 22.

I previously reported, Android 15 is adding support for 16 KB page sizes. Google says devices with larger page sizes can see improved performance in memory-intensive workloads. Apps with NDK libraries will likely need to be rebuilt to work on these devices.

15 includes ANGLE as an optional layer for running OpenGL ES on top of Vulkan. The move to ANGLE will standardize the Android OpenGL implementation. Going forward, ANGLE will be shipped as the default GL system driver on more new devices with the goal for GL/ES to be only available through ANGLE.

devices that don’t have a HW AV1 decoder, VideoLAN’s SW AV1 decoder (dav1d) can be utilized. As I previously reported, dav1d is a highly efficient and performant AV1 decoder. It’s included by default in Android 15 but is available on Android 11+ devices through a Play System Update. However, apps have to opt in by invoking dav1d by name for now.

Improvements to the security of intents. Intents that target specific components must match the target’s intent-filter specifications. Intents without an action will no longer match any intent-filters.

Foreground services that rely on the SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW permission exemption for background starts are now required to have a visible overlay when targeting Android 15.

dataSync and mediaProcessing foreground service types now have a ~6 hour timeout after which the service is no longer considered a foreground service. If the service doesn’t stop itself, it’ll get stopped with a failure.

-, some text changes. Beta 2 includes API-related updates from ICU 74. The font file for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean is now a variable font. There’s now a font file for the Japanese Hentaigana font. TextView now allocates additional width for cursive fonts or language characters with complex shaping that may otherwise get clipped.

I am a 15 year old male and my classmates are complete idiots.
my life has been going downhill for some years now. first my grade became worse, then I had to move with my family to another town and with that lost my 4 best friends.
at my old school my classmates called me names because of my tick (I have Tourette Syndrom).
then I finally made some friends, a boy and a girl in my class who like fantasy stuff like me.
at first things we’re normal, I just ignored my rude classmates and han out with my friends at school. then in 9th grade right after summer vacation my class and one of our parallel classes made a class trip to a hotel (which to be honest looked more like an institute for mentally Ill people).
so just before summer vacations a girl transferred to our class.
the girl had some traumatic experiences and only attended two classes a day.
well my friends became friends with the new girl and so did I.
we’ll returned out she was really weird And did some really weird stuff too.
well at the trip I distanced from my friends which who after the trip I never reallay talked to.
but without me they seem happier anyways. My two friends knew each other since first grade while I transferred just a year ago.
we’ll skip ahead two years from that. my class wasn’t ripping on me anymore and I just did school stuff instead of hanging out with friends at school.
well today I went to the food shop and bought a cup of cacao. when I walked down some stairs I slipped and my cacao fell out of my hands. the cup shattered and the cacao was everywhere On the ground. hen I stood up, I noticed that I had cacao on my fingers and since the cacao just shattered seconds ago and I have a strong stomach, so I simply licked the small drop of cacao of my fingers.
that was a mistake because a classmate saw this and in 15 minutes we’re able to spread the rumor i just liked spilled cacao of the floor. i knew arguing won’t help in any way since the boy who saw this was the most popular boy in our class.
when i sat down, the teacher left the room, after which one of my classmates stood up and threw my water bottle in my face. im not the guy who punches people since I don’t wanna live with the consequences so I just did nothing, after which I just put my water bottle back into my school back. then I realised I took the water bottle of the same classmate that spread the rumor. the classmate then said quote „oh no (my name) touched my water bottle I may get aids if I touch that“
that obviously doesn’t make any sense since I don’t have aids and that not how aids gets transferred but my class screamed in disgust anyways.
after class another classmade told me he „doesn’t tolerate me on this world anymore“
so after school I seriously thought about ending it all, to teach my classmates a lesson. i decided not to, i have a younger sister and I can live with the fought that my sister would be traumatised.
i am actually pretty strong but as I said I don’t go around beating up people.
so now I’m thinking, am I the jerk for wanting to end it because of some stupid bullying or are my classmates the jerks?

An emo girl in band(no, I’m not just calling her emo because she cuts herself. She actually adopts an emo style and attitude), started cutting herself in 2022 During the marching band season at age 15. She kind of does it on and off as She was stop for months and then she would come back with a dozen or so new cuts. She doesn’t hide them, Even when they’re obviously extremely fresh. This is kind of a commonly known fact in our section as When she first started, she bandaged them and we had a game or competition and people were asking about them and eventually people found out about it The director told her to Take it off because she didn't know it was a bandage and it was white compared to the black uniform. I have reported it before. She is in my section and class.
Anyways, One day we were on a band trip which was out of state. We had just came back from A school which was in the middle of nowhere that we were practicing at at 7 AM and we were actually driving to our competition location at this point so it was during the daytime.
We were on the charter bus to NC and suddenly out of nowhere. She decides to stand up revealing both of her wrists, which had at least a few dozen cuts on them and asked me to count them. Her friend shakes his head. I’m confused, but I genuinely make a guess. The next day at 3 AM when we come back from the competition, she randomly runs into my arms To hug me out of nowhere.
I know that she’s obviously a troubled person She does some strange things sometimes. She also says like literally anything that comes to her head So it’s actually kind of funny sometimes she just randomly insult Someone for no reason in class or something.
But anyways, I’m autistic and I don’t understand a lot of things that Neurotypicals do so is this Some sort of emo code or something? Is this a common occurrence that happens in the emo Or mentally ill community? I also saw someone on Instagram comments a number on A video that showed a person with self harm on their wrist, getting it tattooed obviously counting them.
I don’t know if counting scars is some sort of code for something else and I know this happened two years ago, but I’m still confused and still wondering what it means. I would ask her, but it would be kind of weird to bring up something she did two years ago out of nowhere.

i have been having ongoing seizures since may 2023, i had my first seizure that lasted more than 15 minutes today, have videos and have shown them to doctors and have been diagnosed with petit mal seizures but we still don’t know the cause and i can’t do anything about it until i have insurance but my parents kicked me off once i moved out not knowing if i had a stable insurance or not they seemed to have been in a rush to get rid of me and now they want me back but can’t fathom that i cannot live with my mother, my mother believes i need to quit all of my medications to figure out what is causing my seizures but she’s not a doctor and i was prescribed all of these medications for a reason

2024.05.16 23:13 absoluteidiot3007 Constant theme of my life seems to be ‘failed attempts’.

This is super long and most of it is waffle, just in complete despair mode and I have no one to talk to.
Last year I tried to hang myself. I’ve had several attempts throughout my life (overdoses, excessive self harm, all superficial (apart from a couple of the overdoses) apart from the hanging. That was the only time I think I truly was prepared to end it.
I had someone help me tie the noose (it was a joke initially but turns out he did a better job at tying it so I kept the setup and it almost worked), the only problem was there wasn’t a proper drop - my feet were still kind of touching the ground, I don’t think I did it properly but I was committed to it.
I would pass out but regain consciousness, I phased in and out for a bit until I hallucinated some pretty horrific stuff, these weird unnatural looking things - I was pulling at the noose trying to shout ‘WHAT ARE YOU’ at them for a bit until I passed out? again, and when I regained consciousness that last time I was pulling at the noose at my neck and I pulled it off. It is currently my biggest regret. I was sectioned not longer after from some heavy drug induced psychosis (don’t do meth folks!)
It’s been a year and a half now, I’ve stopped doing those drugs minus when I revert back to ketamine use / Valium to deal with residual psychosis and my other array of mental health problems. I’m on two SSRI’s, I’ve been with mental health services since I was 11, been on a range of ssri’s from when I was 14 for panic attacks and extreme anxiety leading me unable to go outside, I stopped going to school. Eventually was homeschooled (by a PRU) and I managed to get GCSE’s to get into college, but I’d already started drinking then to aid anxiety & that got worse throughout college and then to Uni and after uni eventually drugs.
After being sectioned it took 7-8 months to be referred to early intervention for psychosis team, who put me on another ssri and referred me talking therapies, I was told I was being referred to specifically psychosis related trauma therapy. Talking therapies said they couldn’t work with me until I was sober as I thought being honest about my use would help recovery, it isn’t.
I’m unable to go outside for too long, I can’t make any friends, I don’t trust anyone at all, I can’t go see my family, I spend a horrible amount of time paralysed with fear, still having panic attacks that keep me from anywhere with other people, I can’t go anywhere without extreme mental distress. I don’t have. A job as I can’t work in this state, or u can’t hold a job because anxiety wins every time. I’m literally just wasting away, scrounging every month - i grew up poor and Things have just stayed that way.
I’m not blameless in this either - starting with early drinking to heavy drug use now, I’m only in my early twenties but there is no point in me living. I spend all the benefits I get on K or Valium, anything to help me exist or quieten voices and paranoia and also clearly to fuel my own drug use. I went to the GP today because my UC is being reviewed and I was just told to go to the GP when I mentioned struggling with voices / general mental health issues by the DASS service. The GP told me I need to be fully sober. I can see that there is no help or aid in the system and that I shouldn’t expect it either due to my use. All this bullshit about caring for your mental health is a lie. I think some of us are just not meant to live this long, literally survival of the fittest, I am so weak and tired.
Except I’m now so afraid of trying to kill myself again. I don’t want to see what I saw last time, I don’t know what death is, I don’t have the strength or willpower to do that to myself again. I’m so scared I will fail and be stuck here, and then they’ll take that option away from me. I have to have the strength to do it properly, to go somewhere high and actually be able to jump. I don’t know what to do anymore. No one can help, no one will help, no one wants to help, I’m realising there is no saviour I can run to and I have to deal with all my shit by myself and I can’t even be a functioning member of society let alone have the backbone to be mentally well.
I feel so ashamed. Saying all this feels so stupid too. I feel like mental health can’t be a real thing, that I’m somehow faking it and it feels like my fault now because I’m now an addict as well as mentally ill so I’m just perpetuating it but I can’t get rid of my only relief even if it’s momentary & making my situation worse. I really don’t know what to do, and I’m thinking of any way possible I can gather the courage to try again & I know next time will have to be the last.
