2024.05.26 07:27 sc380 Passed my CISA exam!

Passed the exam on my first attempt and I am beyond ecstatic!
SCALED SCORES BY CONTENT AREA:
Name Score
Information Systems Auditing Process 599
Governance and Management of IT 444
Information Systems Acquisition, Development, and Implementation 573
Information Systems Operations and Business Resilience 564
Protection of Information Assets 608
Total scaled score of 564. Yes, I know my scores for Domain 2 are low, but that's alright. I passed overall, and that's all that matters.
Background
Resources
Full disclosure, I attended a 3-4 day virtual crash course type course from a major IT training company. I can confidently say that it was a massive waste of money. Paid over $3K for it and got zero value from it. And I really mean it... ZERO. I will NEVER recommend attending that course or any paid crash course, if you ask me. There are many online resources available that are better and cheaper.
Preparation Time
Studied religiously for 10 straight days (12-14 hours/day), and took my exam on the 11th day.
I am not including the crash course here since it was completely useless. Moreover, I took it 1 year prior to my exam. Did not follow up on that course at any point. I started preparing exactly 10 days before the exam date.
Tips
The Exam
I will mention that I always felt that my strong areas were Domains 2-4. My weakest was Domain 5. My scores say otherwise, so that's surprising. But I'll take it.
I hope this information is useful for anyone preparing for the exam. Good luck!

2024.05.26 07:12 Powerful_Total_5457 AITAH for told my wife that she might not make a good mother?

english is not my native language.
to begin with, my wife (let's call her claire) is the most caring, intelligent, and beautiful woman i know. i really love her; i want to spend my old age with her, and i cannot deny that she is a good person and has many positive traits. however, i sincerely believe that she should not become a mother because of her strange and even creepy relationship with her parents.
when we first met, i was a little confused that claire was very reluctant to talk about her family and called her mother and stepfather (who raised her from infancy) by their first names and not "mom" and "dad," but in the end, i decided that each family has its own rules, and this isn't my business. at that time, she never celebrated birthdays at home, lived with friends on vacation, and generally avoided any meetings with her parents in every possible way. i can't even remember a single time when they texted for more than three minutes or talked on the phone. even then, it all seemed very strange to me, but claire didn't want to talk about it.
a few years later, she cut off all communication with all members of her family except her younger sister. when they tried to contact her, she silently blocked them. she never explained the reasons to me, but judging by what her sister told me, claire hated her stepfather from childhood because he physically punished her and could not forgive her mother for marrying him. i DON'T condone such parenting methods, but hey, when we were growing up, everyone was physically punished; it was normal, and no one hated their parents for it. she would do the same if she were in their place, and it's just immature to condemn them for it. she's an adult, and it's amazing to me that a reasonable person like her puts childhood grudges above family. but claire flatly refused to invite her parents to our wedding and even offered to end the engagement when i insisted on at least sending them a photo from the ceremony (they never received anything).
a couple of years ago, when her sister told claire that their mother had died, she just shrugged, said "bye," and went to watch the show. it came as a shock to me, actually. actions are one thing, but emotions are another. no one can control it. she can stay away from her family if she want to, but there's nothing normal about not feeling at least the slightest bit of grief when your mother dies. even bad parents are usually loved by their children.
so when she suggested i have a baby, i said it was a bad idea. i listed all the things i wrote about here and told her that i just didn't think she was cut out to be a mother. she's still a good person. she's a wonderful woman. but she is so immature that she can just shrug her shoulders when something happens to our hypothetical child if he does something that will not suit her. she has been in therapy for years but still refuses to call her mother "mom." she doesn't consider the mother-child bond important. it was acceptable for her to leave an elderly woman. she could have abandoned the baby, too, if she thought it was necessary. it's just dangerous.
as you can understand, she didn't react to my words in the best way. i don't want her to leave, and i don't think she's a monster (as she said). i want to fix everything; i just think there are things in the world that can't be trusted with her. you can't have children when you're so immature.
was i wrong to present my thoughts in this way?

2024.05.26 07:09 Intrepid_Basil_278 AITAH for being angry at guy who was detached at my friend's birthday party

I was introduced to a guy for arranged marriage by our parents, and we decided to take the process organically. After meeting him for 4 times, I took him to a birthday party of a close friend of mine to see how he is like in social situations.
He wished my friend and sat in the middle of the party along with me and chatted with me for a bit. I then left to help my friends setup the party and chat with them. He remained there on his phone and being by himself. I didn't want to push him much because he had mentioned previously he was introverted. I didn't see him take initiative to come and connect with my friends. when i went and sat next to him before drinks round started, he was chatting with me but i still didn't see him try to connect with my friends etc., He seemed so low-key .. I asked him why he seemed detached and if he was uncomfortable being at the party .. he said well as I had told you before I like to listen and observe more in new settings. I am not sure what he meant by then but we went along. At one point, after not seeing him engage actively, me and my friends thought he was uncomfortable and he was hesitant to say it so we gently pointed him to other employees at the party from his company in case he wanted to mingle. He thanked us and continued to be low key. I again asked him if he was uncomfortable and he said he was fine and that he liked to listen and observe and that he was exhausted being there. By that point, my friends who were hosting the party felt he was not really interested in the party or them, and I became closed off to him by the end because i felt he was being cold.
I confronted him again the next day and he seemed annoyed and said as he had mentioned he liked to listen and observe and also that he was very tired because he hadn't slept well the night before the party. Another thing he said was I had told him to introduce himself as a 'friend' when he asked what to introduce himself as at the party. I meant that as a generic label to introduce himself to people who were not in the know about us being prospective partners. He said he took that to mean he had to dial down the emotional engagement and that there were no expectations at the party. And that if I had told him I was taking him to the party to assess his social skills and told him my preferences/expectations, he would have had a very different approach. He is now accusing me and my friends of pushing him around and also taking him to a party to assess him without his knowledge when he had already mentioned he was introverted. I don't know what to say - all that me and my friends were trying to do was make him comfortable and not make him feel like pushing him around. I didn't mean it to feel like a test to him - all I was trying to do was understand our social compatibility.

🔗Automatic Resetting Airgun Target for Stress-Free Shooting Practice

https://preview.redd.it/wavafe7k6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7ebcd005b72837bec1405aa4b0bcd3ddd3495ae0
The Birchwood Casey Airgun Gallery Resetting Target proved to be a reliable and durable accessory for my airgun. With its high-quality steel construction, the target remained sturdy even after countless lead pellet impacts. The innovative spin design of the target made it easy to use, as it automatically reset itself after each shot, saving me time and eliminating the hassle of manually resetting it.
One feature that stood out to me was the compact and portable design of the target. The lightweight construction and easy storage made it convenient to use in a variety of settings, making it perfect for airgun enthusiasts who enjoy practicing their skills outdoors or at a range.
However, one downside I experienced with the target was that it was designed specifically for lead pellets. This meant that attempting to use the target with anything else, such as 22 rimfire bullets, was not recommended due to potential damage to the target.
Overall, the Birchwood Casey Airgun Gallery Resetting Target provided a fun and effective way for me to practice my airgun shooting skills, thanks to its innovative features and reliable construction.

🔗Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets for Enhanced Marksmanship and Championship Performance

I recently started practicing with a Daisy Air Rifle and noticed that improving my marksmanship was a key factor in mastering the sport. That's when I stumbled upon these official Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets. They proved to be an essential addition to my training routine.
One striking feature was the precision and accuracy these targets provided. Perfect for honing my shooting skills, they're designed to help me feel confident, making my practice more productive. Another aspect I found fascinating was their bullseye illustration, which made targeting a breeze.
Additionally, their hanging mount proved quite practical as I could easily set them up for each session. What's more, each pack includes 50 targets, which, let's be honest, was more than I ever expected. This feature helped keep my training consistent and enjoyable.
Despite their excellent features, a drawback I discovered was that the targets weren't auto-resetting. It meant I needed to manually reset them between shots, which, while not detrimental, felt like an unnecessary extra step.
All in all, I found great value in the Daisy NRA 5-Meter BB Targets. They were reasonably priced, easy to order, and arrived promptly. Plus, their high rating speaks to their overall customer satisfaction. If you're looking to up your accuracy game, I'd give these targets a shot.

🔗Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit - Pump BB Gun Accessories

https://preview.redd.it/x0mkax0l6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d2d86f16dc0ffba57edea3f6807fe10260d300f
The Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit has been a game-changer in my household. It arrived at just the right time to complement my daughter's Red Ryder BB gun.
This kit has everything you could possibly need to kickstart a shooting adventure, including a durable gun sleeve, a tin of 25 assorted Red Ryder shooting gallery targets, and high-quality shooting glasses. The shooting glasses fit my daughter perfectly and she loves wearing them as they add a touch of coolness and safety to her shooting experience. The tin of BBs is conveniently designed and holds enough ammunition to keep the fun going for a while.
The targets, while simple, are perfect for honing her aim and precision. Overall, the Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit has been an excellent investment, and I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a safe, fun, and affordable way to introduce their child to the thrill of target shooting.

🔗Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun Fun Shooting Kit

https://preview.redd.it/9y41r7hl6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1f37061cac2414707e93f36d5daf64296afebec
I recently tried the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit myself and had quite the adventure. Firstly, the set truly comes with everything you need for an exciting shooting experience. However, I must say, it took me a while to get used to it.
One of the key features of this kit is the renowned Red Ryder BB gun. It's smooth and easy to hold, but the accuracy was quite disappointing. I found myself missing targets more often than I would have liked. On the bright side, at least I could appreciate the classic design of the gun.
To enhance the shooting experience, the kit also comes with shooting glasses and a tin of BBs. I must admit, the glasses were convenient and provided some protection while I was busy aiming at targets. The BBs, however, seemed like a cheap alternative and didn't always penetrate the targets.
The fun paper targets provided were a nice touch, but the distance limitations of the gun took away some of the enjoyment. I had to be extremely close to hit the targets, and even then, it wasn't always accurate.
Overall, while the Daisy Red Ryder Fun Kit is a decent option for a beginner's shooting experience, I wouldn't recommend it for someone looking for better accuracy or quality. But if you're looking for an affordable and simple way to introduce a young one to the world of BB guns, it might just do the trick.

🔗Advanced Decelerator Rifle Cheek Pad for Enhanced Shooting Control

https://preview.redd.it/oxvfncvl6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8103fea27ffc805de488a1d0b4ee8bc7aacafbb0
As an avid hunter, I had been searching for a recoil pad that offered both advanced control and easy installation. When I stumbled upon the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Pad, I was excited to give it a try. Upon receiving the pad, I was impressed by its sleek design and the attention to detail in its construction. The installation process was a breeze, and I was thrilled to see how seamlessly it fitted onto my rifle.
One of the standout features of the Decelerator Slip-On Pad was its unique speed mount insert. This innovative design not only enhanced the pad's appearance but also improved its performance. I noticed a significant decrease in felt recoil, which made my shooting experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Furthermore, the pad's non-slip and snag-free design was perfect for my active hunting lifestyle.
However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks that I encountered. Firstly, the pad did add an inch to the overall length of my rifle, which could be a concern for some hunters. Secondly, while the pad was available in three sizes, I wished there were even more options to cater to a wider range of firearms.
In summary, the Pachmayr Decelerator Slip-On Pad has become an invaluable addition to my hunting gear. Its combination of advanced recoil control, sleek design, and easy installation makes it a worthwhile investment for any serious sportsman. Despite the minor drawbacks, I am confident that this pad will continue to perform exceptionally well during my hunting expeditions.

🔗Car Vinyl Wrap Film for Remarkable Personalized Looks

https://preview.redd.it/q00vf2cm6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2142107320bdb54a7fd20b7d186d0e1d08fc680e
Recently, I tried out the Vicrez vzv10121-3 Vinyl Car Wrap Film in Matte Black Iron for a DIY project. The 5ft x 3ft wrap was easy to work with and came with a vast selection of colors, patterns, and finishes to choose from. Although it does require some basic installation knowledge, the wraps are simple to apply and can easily be removed without damaging the car's paint.
One of the standout features of this wrap is its air release technology, which makes for a smooth and effortless installation process. Additionally, the realistic car paint look provides an enhanced appearance for a fraction of what a traditional paint job would cost. The material is also incredibly durable, with a lifespan of 4-6 years for exterior applications and 8+ years for interior use.
However, the matte black color of my chosen wrap did prove somewhat challenging to work with at times. Also, the installation process can be tricky if you don't have experience with vinyl wraps, so it's definitely worth having some knowledge beforehand. Overall, the Vicrez Vinyl Wrap offers a stylish and functional solution for adding a personalized touch to your car or any other surface it can be applied to.

🔗Flexzilla Quiet-Flo Safety Nozzle for Modular Accessories System

https://preview.redd.it/y1jumvpm6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=429e0bad91afc0854531f081690d2e9e3c3c1b80
I recently had the chance to try out the Quiet-Flo Safety Nozzle from Flexzilla, and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations! The modular accessories system made it incredibly easy to customize the length of my extension and the tips for any job I tackled. It also met OSHA standards for professional use, giving me peace of mind as I worked.
The nozzle was perfect for my mechanics and automotive workshop, and it genuinely made my Flexzilla blow gun even better. While the nozzle was quite sturdy and held up well under pressure, it seemed a bit more challenging to twist and bend than I would have liked. Still, that minor inconvenience didn't stop me from enjoying the countless benefits of this nifty little safety nozzle. This product truly lives up to its 5.0 rating and is definitely worth trying out.

🔗Improve Accuracy with the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery Accessory

https://preview.redd.it/ezgqa41n6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb673850a598aae5a75b4405eccfa371bf21becd
Last week, I stumbled upon the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery while hunting for some new gear for my daughter's Red Ryder BB gun. As a parent, I thought this would be an excellent way to improve her shooting accuracy and provide hours of indoor fun for the whole family. With 25 assorted targets included, I was excited to give it a try.
The moment I opened the box, I was impressed by the simplicity of the design. It's just a small box with a rubber backing, and the targets easily punch out and attach to the front. The bottom trap efficiently collects the BBs, making it easy to reuse them for future sessions. Additionally, the rubber backing effectively stops BBs up to 350 fps, making it safe for indoor use.
However, there were some challenges I encountered during my experience. As a parent, I worried about the box being sturdy enough to withstand the force of the BBs. Although the included weight helped keep it steady, I still had to place it on a flat surface to prevent it from blowing over.
Additionally, I noticed that the product did not live up to the expectations set by the product images. The images show a gun carrying case and more accessories than what was delivered. While this was not a deal-breaker for me, it made me wonder if other customers had similar experiences.
Overall, the Daisy Red Ryder Shooting Gallery proved to be a fun and convenient way to practice our shooting skills, despite the lack of sturdiness and some unexpected differences from the advertised images.

🔗Stainless Steel PCP Charging System for Air Rifles

https://preview.redd.it/c0wlatro6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca3f2b9cf91ce439b8472bcd2b9e430ab28aa2cf
As a reviewer, I have to say the Benjamin PCP Charging System is quite the handy device for PCP air rifle users. When I first received it, I was amazed at how lightweight it was, making it incredibly convenient for carrying around. One nifty feature that caught my attention was the built-in pressure gauge that allowed for precise filling.
The system's construction has been quite impressive as it is made from carbon fiber, which prevents corrosion. It is also quite durable, offering peace of mind during long periods of use. However, there was a minor downside – the micro bore hose seemed a bit too short, making it a bit challenging to fill my PCP air rifle.
The inclusion of a stainless steel fill connection was another plus, as it ensured long-lasting use without any significant problems. The tank also filled quite quickly with my hand pump, providing great convenience and efficiency.
Overall, the Benjamin PCP Charging System has exceeded my expectations, offering a perfect balance between convenience, portability, and performance. I particularly appreciate how it has made refilling my PCP air rifle much faster and more enjoyable, making it a must-have accessory for any PCP air rifle enthusiast.

🔗Revel 1TR1AA002R VLS 52mm Water Temperature Gauge with OLED Display and Sensor

https://preview.redd.it/ur6cyp0p6p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8f827a1e57e46e74f641b0c7934190d6dd32492
I remember using the Revel VLS 52mm Water Temp Gauge on my air rifle just last season. The gauge is quite compact, making it perfect for small space mounting, like underneath my scope. The display is simply brilliant - it's digital OLED, which offers a deeper black and sharper contrast, delivering a crystal clear image that's easily readable even from a distance.
One of the cool features was its 30 LED outer ring. When I'm taking aim in low light conditions, it gave me the perfect level of visibility. Plus, its daisy chain compatibility made it so easy to attach multiple gauges without needing several power cords.
The included water temp sensor is another key feature. It helps me to monitor the engine's temperature even when I'm out in the field, ensuring everything runs smoothly. The mounting kit that comes with the gauge makes installation a breeze.
However, nothing's perfect, right? I did notice the water temp gauge tends to be a bit sensitive to vibrations if I'm not careful with handling it. Overall, though, it's a reliable and efficient little gauge that's made a big difference in my shooting session, and I highly recommend it.

The detailed history of Daisy BB guns in the book makes it an essential read for enthusiasts and collectors.
However, the book could have been more comprehensive, providing more detailed information on each of the airgun models. Despite this, the Daisy Air Rifles and BB Guns: The First 100 Years remains a must-have for anyone who cherishes their Daisy BB guns and wants to relive cherished childhood memories.

🔗Stylish Vinyl Car Wrap Film for an Enhanced Look

I recently bought the Vicrez magnetic fluorescent green car wrap for my truck, and I must say, I am impressed. It took a little bit of effort to apply it properly, but the air bubble release feature made it a lot simpler than I had anticipated. The wrap itself has a fantastic chameleon finish, which makes my truck look absolutely stunning.
One of the things I appreciate the most about this wrap is its removability. I can easily take it off at any time without damaging the original paint on my truck. It's reassuring to know that my vehicle's resale value remains intact.
The stretchability is another remarkable feature. It can stretch up to 300%, which makes the application process even more effortless. I was particularly thrilled when I found out that this wrap can be applied to complex curves, simple curves, flat surfaces, and even some compound, convex, and concave curves.
The only downside was the learning curve - it took some time to get the hang of applying the wrap without messing it up. But once I got the hang of it, the results were impressive. Overall, the Vicrez magnetic fluorescent green car wrap is a fantastic product that I highly recommend.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Vicrez Vinyl Car Wrap Film in Chrome Satin Red, and I must say, I was quite impressed with the results! The installation process was a breeze with the help of the air release technology, and the vinyl was easy to work with, even for a novice like me.
One of the top features of this wrap is its realistic car paint look, which gives your vehicle a whole new dimension. It's also highly restorable, allowing for a quick fix if any wrinkles show up during installation. The vinyl is removable too, without damaging your car's paint, so you can switch up the look when you feel like it.
However, it's essential to note that the wrap isn't as easy to reposition once applied, so make sure you have your design in mind before finalizing the installation. The film is also quite thick at 6.4 mil, which adds to the durability but might make it a bit more challenging to apply in tight spaces.
Overall, I had a great experience using this wrap and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to give their car a unique, stylish makeover without breaking the bank. Plus, the wide variety of colors, textures, and finishes available ensures that you'll find the perfect fit for your vehicle.

The 4500psi Airrifle Air Gas Filling Pump is a sturdy and durable device that has saved me a lot of time and effort when it comes to air rifle maintenance. The high-pressure hand pump's built-in oil-water separator and ergonomic handle make it comfortable to use, while the foldable design allows for easy storage and transportation.
One of the most notable features of this pump is its precise pressure gauge. It provides easy-to-read parameters and ensures that I fill my PCP cylinders safely and accurately. Additionally, the complete accessory kit comes with O-rings and tools suitable for most PCP pistols, rifles, and air guns, making it a versatile option for various applications.
However, I did encounter a minor issue with its 301 stainless steel construction, as it required extra force to operate at higher pressure levels. This could be a potential concern for users with limited upper body strength.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the performance of this 4500psi Airrifle Air Gas Filling Pump. It's a cost-effective and efficient option for anyone looking to maintain their air rifle with ease.

The Air Warriors Sniper PREDATOR Bolt Action Foam Dart Blaster has become my go-to toy for outdoor adventures. Its practical bolt-packing action makes it easy to use, and the secret storage space is perfect for keeping extra darts hidden. The blaster can reach impressive distances of up to 100 feet, perfect for target practice or friendly competitions. Despite being made of plastic, the durability holds up, giving a solid performance for hours on end.
One of my favorite features is the detachable scope, which adds an extra level of strategy to my game. Plus, I appreciate that it comes with both soft foam suction darts and long-distance darts, catering to different playing preferences. However, the noise level can be higher than expected, so it's best to reserve this for outdoor play.
Recommended for ages 6 and up, the Air Warriors Sniper PREDATOR Bolt Action Foam Dart Blaster has quickly become a favorite in my house, and I can see why with its fantastic blend of fun and durability.

🔗Daisy Red Ryder Starter Kit - Pump BB Gun Accessories

Daisy Air Rifles and BB Guns: The First 100 Years is an intriguing journey into the history of the iconic brand that has been synonymous with BB guns since 1888. The book offers a delightful nostalgic trip, reminiscing about the days of your youth when you cherished your Daisy BB rifle. It takes readers on an insightful tour through the first 100 years of Daisy, featuring its rifles, pistols, toy, and cork guns, accessories, packaging, period advertising, and literature.
One of the most memorable parts of the book for me were the wacky ads and catalogs that brought a smile to my face. These chapters reveal the brilliant marketing strategies employed by Daisy to dominate the market, showcasing their savvy business sense and dedication to quality products.
The book stands out with its stylish presentation and beautifully curated information. It's not just a reference book, but a visual delight with its wide format that makes the colorful photos stand out.

🔗Fast Fire, 11.13" Rubber Band Shooter for Ages 8+

https://preview.redd.it/0kzhogq26p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5baea4cc59c3bcf8123349e5dcc94dd7590334d8
The Parris Eagle Rubber Band Shooter is a must-have for little cowboys and cowgirls. With its fast fire, semi-auto design, the Eagle Rubber Band Shooter is perfect for firing up some fun action. Measuring at 11.13 inches, it's the perfect size for ages 8 and up. The Eagle Rubber Band Shooter uses #5 Pistol Rubber Bands, making it an excellent choice for those who are looking to switch from Daisy BB Guns.
My experience with the Eagle Rubber Band Shooter was nothing short of thrilling. The fast-firing mechanism really allowed for a lot of action, making it a blast to use. The semi-auto repeating feature made it even more exciting as I could keep firing without having to reload.
However, I must mention that the product is a bit loud, so it may not be suitable for use in quiet environments. Additionally, I found that the rubber bands started to lose their effectiveness after a few rounds, so I had to replace them fairly often. Overall, the Parris Eagle Rubber Band Shooter is a great choice for those looking for a fun and action-packed rubber band shooter.

🔗Vintage-Inspired Cap Pistol Holster Set for Imaginative Play

https://preview.redd.it/1on3xw336p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=33057a58a2afb9a4ced86b0f9baff2e3d500ab4e
When the Parris Stagecoach Single Holster Set arrived, my first impression was its authentic feel. I could immediately tell how well-made it was, just like the guns from the 1950s and 1960s. The smooth black holster and belt made it look like a genuine hand tooled piece. But the real test was when my young nephew got hold of it. He was fascinated by the long repeater cap pistol, and the fact that it was based on a real gun from history made it even more exciting for him.
I must admit, the pistol was rather heavy and sturdy. A bit too heavy, in fact, for my nephew to carry around comfortably. But he loved it, and that was all that mattered. The pistol worked perfectly with the #912 paper roll caps, providing hours of imaginative playtime.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The pistol tends to stick, requiring us to pull on the strip to get it to feed smoothly. And the weight of the pistol made it a bit of a challenge for my nephew to carry around comfortably. Despite these minor issues, the Parris Stagecoach Single Holster Set was a hit with my young nephew, and I can see it becoming a favorite toy for many kids.

🔗Classic Wooden Rubber Band Pistol

https://preview.redd.it/fy9ve2e36p2d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43cd6f5675d0e4e9cab5c738bab62ad7af125fa1
I recently had the chance to try out the Diamond Visions Tm-2585 Rubber Band Pistol made of wood. This classic toy has been around for a while, and it brings back memories of good old-fashioned fun.
The first thing that stood out to me was the design - it's a beautifully crafted wooden pistol that feels sturdy and well-made. Loading the rubber bands is simple, and the special firing wheel allows you to unleash multiple shots, making it even more enjoyable.
However, it did have a few drawbacks. For one, it's quite loud when used, which might not be ideal if you're trying to avoid drawing attention. And let's be honest, having this much fun with a rubber band gun could potentially lead to some trouble with parents.
Overall, the Diamond Visions Tm-2585 Rubber Band Pistol is a fun, classic toy that brings back memories of simpler times. While it may have some downsides, the excitement it provides makes it all worth it.

2024.05.26 06:08 AdagioMore9763 AITA for telling my mom she can't use my debit card after losing it again?

My mother (42) will often use my (22F) debit card to deposit and use money since her account is over-drafted and she's yet to fix it. Last month, she lost it 2 times.
Today, I had just got back home from a birthday party and went into my room to change into some PJs when I notice my keyboard on the floor and my debit card missing. Okay, whatever, she used it again. When I asked for it back, she told me it's in the middle console of the car. It wasn't. After that, I hear her huff and puff as she goes to check herself, and then I can sense the panic from inside my room. She immediately asks her boyfriend to check the car.
He comes back in, says it isn't there, to which she insists it is, and sends him back outside. At this point, I've had it up to here with her. I tell her if she doesn't find it tonight, I'm not letting her use it again. She flips out on me, and tells me to go to my room because "I'm just a child", and "It's adult business"... She even accused me of trying to embarrass her since we have company over. Which isn't true... I've had this exact exchange with her the last time she lost it. And that time, she flipped out on me when I said I was just going to cancel it and get a replacement. How are you gonna tell me what to do with my property that YOU lost?
This is the THIRD TIME IN TWO months! Even after all the drunk nights out with my friends I've never even misplaced it for more than a few hours. Never had to call for a replacement until she got involved.
The part that really grind my gears is after he comes back from looking, she just gives up after 10 minutes of lollygagging and giggling with her boyfriend and just says, "Sorry, can't find it!" I swear on everything I love she's never seeing that piece of plastic ever again.
So, AITAH for telling her she's no longer allowed to use my debit card after losing it 3 different times?
EDIT: grammar

RECAP
Original Post (rareddit): April 20, 2024
When I was 13 my dad had an affair and left my mom and moved in with his affair partner who ill call Jane.
At first me and my sister would visit every weekend and I will admit he was a good dad although I never liked Jane.
When Jane got pregnant and had their son our visits became less frequent and my dad was more concerned with his new family. He would miss some of my my recitals or my sisters competitions because he was busy with his son.
When I was 16. Jane decided she wanted to move for a new job opportunity. Me and my sister begged him not to leave us bit he just said "I need to prioritise my family". He moved 10 hours away. That pretty much ended our relationship and I decided to go no contact as it was clear he did not consider me family.
My younger sister stayed in contact with him. He would try and call me and offer for me to come and visit with my sister but I refused. When he came back to see my sister I would refuse to speak to him when he turned up at the house. I didn't invite him to my high school or college graduation.
I'm now 33 and have remained no contact with him, he has over the years repeatedly tried contacting me and getting his family to contact me on his behalf to reconcile. I have avoided family events in case he attended including my sisters wedding and baby showers.
My dad and his family moved back to our home town 3 months ago and he has been relentless trying to reconcile.
I have received messages from my half brother and sister wanting a relationship saying he's a great dad. My dad found out I'm getting married and keeps trying to contact me and has even tried to speak to my fiancé.
Jane messaged me saying I have broke my dads heart repeatedly and I'm pathetic and should get therapy. I replied back that she was nothing but a home wrecking whore and then blocked her.
Everyone seems to be wanting me to let him back in my life. I'm sick of all the harassment and accidentally bumping into my dad and his family in the town. Whenever I see him I just walk away and refuse to speak to them. Everyone is saying he's a good dad and tried his best to remain in contact but I pushed him away.
Everyone is pressuring me my mom, sister. Grandparents aunts and uncles, even some of my friends. My fiancé has even started saying I'm the AH for shutting him out. Its all starting to get to me so am I aita?
Edit:
Thank you for your comments I haven't got through all of them but I'm glad to know that most of you think I'm NTA which is a huge relief as I thought I was going insane.
I'm going to have a serious conversation with my fiancé as most of you pointed out he should have my back. If he continues to defend my dad then I'm going to have to think if this relationship should go any further. We are 12 weeks out from the wedding but need to sort this out sooner than later.
For information
I own a local business moving away is not an option
I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and he is friends with a lot of people including my fiancé family.
My dad did not come back for me - he came back because Jane’s parents need help and care.
He has not financially supported me since I was 17 he withheld my college fund to try and blackmail me into having a relationship with him so I had to work and get loans.
I've avoided events because my family use it as a chance to force reconciliation. He also won't leave me alone and makes scenes - hell come up to me talking as if nothing has happened try to hug me or starts crying.
I cant simply cut everyone off - everyone is on his side and against me including my own mother.
Edit 2
To give you all a bit more context when he left my mom for Jane he only wanted us on the weekend my mom offered him 50/50 but refused.
I didn't like Jane and was standoffish with her because I knew what they had done- my sister was too young to understand and was more accepting of her. Jane was mean to me but nice to my sister when I was at my dad's I felt uncomfortable and she would purposefully leave me out of fun activities or plan things purely for my sister. We had a few arguments over minor things but my dad always took her side. My dad and me used to have daddy daughter date at least once every 2 weeks. Jane put a stop to that.
When she had my half brother we went from going every weekend to once every 6 weeks. My dad was MIA and had finally gotten his precious son. He stopped trying with me.
When they moved I was so upset he chose to leave us. He didn't want custody just for us to visit him every now and again and speak to him on the phone. Parenting at a distance so all of his focus was on his new family
When I graduated from high school and refused to invite him everything blew up Jane called me some terrible names and so did my dad and he refused to give me my college fund unless I started being part of the family again. From what I gathered, he spent it on his new family.
I'm sick of being the one to miss out on events with my family. I would be willing to be in the same room but not interact or even be civil but he pushes things and makes it impossible
Edit 3
Have spoken to my fiancé. Update will be posted shortly
AITAH has no consensus bot, OOP was NTA
OOP on staying away from the father and his family and blocking Jane
OOP: I've tried my best to stay away from him and his family but with it being a small town its impossible to avoid them. Some of the times I've bumped into him seemed a bit too coincidental and feel like it was a set up.
I have blocked Jane can't stand the woman she was always mean to me even when I was a child because I was standoffish. My sister is 5 years younger and was more accepting of her so my sister and Jane have a good relationship.

Update #1 (rareddit): April 20, 2024 (10 hours later)
Thank you for all of the comments although most seem to be NTA some were YTA. Some of you gave helpful suggestions which I am planning to take on board.
I have just spoken to my fiancé and unfortunately it has not gone well but at this point in time I've had enough and want to runaway and never come back.
My fiancé knows my history with my dad and Jane. I explained to him that him siding with my father and pressuring me was hurting me and as my fiancé he should be supporting me.
My fiancé who I'll call Luke told me he can't support me in doing something that he knows is wrong. Luke told me that he had spoke to my father and had an understanding of both sides of the story and believes that if we both sit down and talk we can sort this out and reconcile.
I told Luke I don't want this and want no contact and asked why he is even speaking to my father. Luke admitted his father who is friends with my dad encouraged Luke to speak to him and hear him out.
Luke told me my dad loved me very much and always wanted to be in my life and has pictures of me (I'm guessing he got these from my family as my social media is set to private). Luke said my dad is heartbroken at the state of our relationship because I was being unreasonable about him moving away when I was young. Luke stated I got on the wrong foot with Jane and that I was not innocent in the breakdown of the relationship. He told me that everyone can see the truth but me and to look in the mirror because I'm the problem.
Needless to say I broke down crying and asked him why he was doing this to me and not supporting me. Luke claims to love me but won't stand by and watch me be "a heartless bitch".
After he said this I stood up told him that he shouldn't marry a heartless bitch and walked out. I'm currently sat in my car. My phone is blowing up with Luke trying to contact me but I don’t want to speak to him. I feel like I'm losing everything and everyone I dont understand what is happening.

Update #2 (rareddit): April 21, 2024
Hi everyone thanks for the comments and letting me sound off on you as I desperately need an outside perspective.
I know a lot of you are telling me to cut all contact with my family and leave town. That is not an option for me financially and I would not be able to set up business elsewhere all my money is invested in it and I have only managed to get established recently with steady income, relocating is not an option for me. I love my friends and family and don't want to cut everyone off, I love my hometown I grew up here this is my life and I'm not willing to walk away from it.
I didn't expect to write another update this fast but a lot has happened today.
So firstly I agreed to meet my dad to talk and try and get him to back off and leave me alone. I asked my mom to arrange it, just him no one else. I wasn't sure if he would agree to that but within 15 minutes of her calling he was at the door.
I asked my mom to stay and mediate. To summarize the conversation. These are a bit messed up because it's a lot to remember.
Me: * I asked him to give me space and stop trying to get everyone on his side and let me live my life.
  • I told him he stopped being my father when he moved 10 hrs away
  • I told him Jane was mean to me and told him about all the horrible things she has said to me over the years.
  • I hate how he chose Jane and his new family over me and how he told me he had to prioritise them and how he basically told me I wasn't family
  • He was an AH for withholding my college fund and trying to blackmail me and then spending it on his new family
  • I hate how I have missed major family events because he attended the events and would make them awkward.
  • I don't see his son and daughter as my family and I'm sick of them trying to speak to me and approach me
  • he keeps making scenes every time he sees me and making me look the bad guy
  • he keeps inserting himself into my life going to my fiancé’s family events, going behind my back to talk and sway Luke to his side
  • I hate how he cheated on my mom and broke our family up and then listened to Jane who stopped our dates, missed my recitals, reduced contact and was more concerned about his son.
Him * He loves me and always has he is never going to give up trying to reconnect and he has given me enough space over the years and he is done hearing about my life from 2nd hand knowledge and is not willing to miss any more if it.
  • he loves Jane and and can't regret his past because he wouldn't have her or his 2 kids. He wishes he had done it differently and ended his marriage with my mom first.
*his kids are innocent and I shouldn't be taking it out on them they just want to know their big sister
  • I was difficult child who was rude and disrespectful to Jane breaking her belongings, calling her names, ruining day trips.
  • when Jane got pregnant she was high risk and me coming every week and starting arguments was stressing her out so for her and his sons sake he stopped the weekend visitation. He still spoke to us on the phone and took us out for dinner and days out but just didn't let us sleep over.
  • when his son was born he was premature and had health complications which meant him staying in hospital for weeks and frequent hospital admissions. Jane was also going through PPD so he wasn't able to see us as much and had to miss some events when he was taking care of Jane and his son.
  • Jane was unable to get a job locally and the opportunity was too good to pass up so they had to move. He pointed out that he came back to town for weekends as much as he could to see us and would always invite us to fly out and spend vacations with him. He phoned everyday but I refused to speak or see him.
  • They had flown in for my graduation but I refused to invite him and he lost his temper and refused to give me my college fund. He apologised for this and tried to fix this a few weeks later and give me the money but I refused it. He has not spent the money he still has it and I have only to ask and I can have it.
  • he had visited me at my college to try and talk to me but I refused to see him.
  • He is not going to miss family events
  • he makes a scene because he misses me and just wants to talk to me and reconcile but I always end up running way or shouting insults at him and Jane.
  • He has been trying for 16years to reconnect but I shut him down at every turn he just wants to be my dad.
  • He is old friends with my fiancé dad and he hoped my fiancé could talk some sense into me and open a line of communication.
  • he feels I never gave Jane a chance no matter how she tried in the beginning and hoped we could be civil. Jane hates knowing I talk bad about her, am mean to her children and won't speak to him.
He wants:
My dad is in therapy and wants me to join him for family sessions.
He wants me to spend time with him 1-1
To stop being rude and mean to his children and spend time with them.
Stop trash talking Jane to everyone and actually give her a chance
Invite for him and my family to my wedding and to walk me down the aisle.
I want:
Him to stop talking to my friends and getting others to try and talk to me on his behalf
Keep Jane away from me completely
To be be civil at events or in town providing he does not try and hug me or talk to me.
My mom told him he was being unrealistic with some of the things he wants especially regarding Jane and his other children so we have agreed for now.
I will attend 3 therapy sessions with him when he arranges it. (my mom thinks I need individual therapy as well) He will stop trying to interfere in my life and relationships He will keep Jane away from me and talk to his kids to give me space. I will be civil to him in public as long as he respects my personal space and does not approach or pressure me.
As for my fiancé - I still havent spoken to him, he turned up at my moms but she refused to let him in. He keeps blowing up my phone and so does his family and friends telling me to hear him out.
During my conversation with my dad I found out my dad has paid for most of the vendors and services for my upcoming wedding and they have been on speaking terms for quite some time ( longer than I thought). Luke told me his family had paid for these and i believed him. I feel betrayed by him and that I can't trust him. I'm going to have to speak to him eventually but I dont feel ready.

OOP on if she can block her father and if she can have an order on him to stay away from her
OOP: I wouldn't be able to get a restraining order against him. What am I going to do tell the police my dad is talking to people in the town and my friends about me. He is showing up to parties and events he's invited to. He's trying to talk to me when he bumps into me in town?
He is not on my social media , he is blocked on my phone other than events and meeting in town that can be chalked up to coincidence I have nothing to report

Update #3 - April 27, 2024
Firstly I'd like to apologise for taking down my posts. I was really upset and felt under lot of pressure and needed space to think without constant messages. Some of you were trying to be helpful and I apreciate that but some of the abusive messages I received was terrible.
I'm updating for those who have asked for an update and were supportive to me. This will be my last post and I wont be posting again.
Firstly the deal with my dad is off the table. He couldn't even manage a week without overstepping my boundaries. So there will be no therapy sessions with him and I will remain no contact.
As you are all aware after speaking to my dad and agreeing a way forward and my conditions.
Keep Jane away from me Tell his kids to back off Don't pressure me or invade my space
It lasted all of 3 days. Everyone seemed happy I had "forgiven" my dad and told me so. My sister was excited I was willing to give him a chance and with some pressure I agreed to have dinner with just her and my dad.
When my sister and I arrived at the restaurant to meet our dad he was not alone. He had invited Jane, my grandparents his son and daughter. He got up and tried to hug me.
I immediately became upset asking why they were there. My dad told me that if we have any hope of repairing our relationship I had to accept Jane and my younger siblings. I told him he just broke our deal and to never contact me again and tried to leave. He refused to let me leave and grabbed hold of me.
When I say all hell broke loose I mean it. I started shouting at them. My Dad, Jane and grandparents tried to gaslight me and convince me to sit down when that didn't work things got very heated and a shouting match started and a lot of unforgivable things were said by my dad and Jane including remarks about my appearance and calling me a psychopath. My half brother walked out of the restaurant and my half sister started to cry.
My sister actually surprised me and defended me, shouting at my dad for ruining things after all this time when I had finally given him a chance. She even slapped Jane. She got me out of there and apologised to me. I think this was the first time she had really seen how Jane was with me and how she treat me. She kept saying she couldn't understand how dad had spent years saying he would do anything to have me back and then would do this when he finally got his chance to rebuild the relationship.
My dad has been trying to contact me but I have blocked him and refused to talk to him. I have also refused to speak to my grandparents. My dad has tried to convince my mom and sister to speak to me but I think he's burned his bridges with them.
The incident from the restaurant has spread and some people seem to be backing off. Like I said what my dad and Jane shouted at me was unforgiveable and they were overheard and this is a small town. Hopefully people will back off and those who won't Im going to have to cut them out.
My sister is very unhappy with my dad and Jane and not speaking to them. She is blaming them for me going no contact again. My sister is not letting them see her kids. I don't know if my sister will reconcile but right now she is furious. My mom is also furious and apparently had a few choice word with my dad and Jane and has promised she will never pressure me again to speak to him.
I am going to go to individual therapy I think I definitely need it. I do feel bad about my half siblings as they havnt done anything wrong and am maybe open to having a distanced kind of relationship with them in the future but I'm not ready yet or if I'll ever be. I did send them a message on Facebook to apologise and tell them they've done nothing wrong.
Lastly to update you all - in regards to my fiance well I spoke to him yesterday about everything I had been radio silent since walking out on him.
Basically he was pressured by his father to speak to my dad and was fed a sob story of a misunderstood father desperately wanting to be in his daughters life. Luke had become annoyed with me refusing to attend his family events and walking out of his mother's birthday party when I realised my dad and Jane was there as he was getting pressure from his family about me ruining their events.
He just wanted everyone to be happy and get along clearly at my expense.
Luke admitted my dad had paid for some of the vendors for the wedding but he did not know this until after it was already paid. His father had told Luke that him and his mom had paid. My dad had told Luke it was a gift and his way of contributing. Luke admitted my dad had asked him to speak to me on his behalf.
I told Luke he had betrayed my trust and I couldn't see myself marrying someone who does not support me. He broke down crying and apologising to me and promising to never do it again. Luke was heartbroken and begged for a 2nd chance.
To those of you who wanted me to break up with him, I'm sorry to disappoint you but we are going to try and work through this. Apart from this issue he had been the best partner and I genuinely think that he had been manipulated by his family and my dad. Luke has promised to stand up to his family and go no contact with my dad.
I'm still living at my moms as I still need some space which I wont have if I move home. We are going to contact our wedding vendors and see what our options are next week. Luke is begging for a postponement rather than cancel it altogether. We may still break up as actions speak louder than words and I need to see if he can rebuild what we had and show me I can trust and depend on him.

OOP on if she is able to change her contact information and what about Luke
OOP: There's no point changing my number when I've done this before he always manages to get it again.
As for Luke - breaking up is not off the table. I'm giving him a chance to show me he means what he says. I always thought I had a decent relationship with Luke’s family, but clearly not. I'm not asking him to go NC with them thats for him to decide. I'm certainly going to distance myself from them and any further incidents no contact.
As for any future children if we are still together I won't be trusting them with my children at all

Update #4: May 4, 2024
Hi everyone I did not plan to make another update at all but I'm still getting messages for an update and thought I would let you know the recent developments.
Firstly I have cancelled the wedding I was able to get some partial refunds but have lost some money. Luke begged me not to cancel the wedding but there was no way I could marry him after what he did.
I was set on giving him a 2nd chance and he promised me he would go low contact and stand up to his parents and issue an ultimatum that we would not tolerate any contact with my dad and Jane. Basically he would tell them we would not attend any event or party if they were invited and we would not tolerate any attempt to force contact or relationship with my dad.
He met with them to explain this to them. When he came back from this meeting he was quite irritable with me and appeared to have had a change of heart to summarize it - he was trying to convince me his family only meant well and that he can't go low contact with his family because he loves them and he can't dictate their friendships. He then tried to convince me it won't be an issue in the future and his father would speak to my dad and tell him to be on his best behaviour in my presence.
As soon as I heard this people's comments went through my head and the main one being if we had children he would take them to his family where my dad and Jane would be and I would have no control over this. At that moment
I realised I couldn't trust Luke and never would be able to.
I broke up with him, he is not taking it well and keeps begging me to take him back and that he would go no contact with his family. His family and friends are trying to convince me on his behalf not to end our relationship. He has made his choice and proven to me he is spineless. I don't need him in my life.
In regards to my dad I'm looking into getting a restraining order given what happened in the restaurant I might be able to but i dont know yet a friend of mine is helping me look into this.
My dad has kept a low profile since last week apart from a couple of attempts to apologize to me I havnt heard much from him. My sister still won't speak to him or Jane. Unlike me my sister is highly confrontational and has blasted him and Jane on social media with what happened at the restaurant and things that have happened in the past which I didn't know about.
My sister and Jane had a very public screaming match when she had seen them in town due to my sisters posts and demanding to take them down it ended up with Jane assaulting my sister. My dad apparently sided with Jane in this. My sister now hates Jane and refuses to speak to our dad who is also trying to contact her.
My dad and Jane’s reputation seems to have taken a hit and between the incident in the restaurant and my sisters fight with Jane and het numerous Facebook posts about them, People are gossiping. This has worked well for me because some people have backed off which Im happy about unfortunately there are a few people still on his side including my ex's parents.
As for my half siblings there's not much of an update in regards to them.
I've found a therapist however there is a bit of a waiting list before I can start my therapy. I'm still living with my mom who is completely on my side and I have found a kitten and pick her up next week.

----NEW UPDATE----

Update #5: May 19, 2024 (2 weeks later)
Hi everyone thought I would give you an update as to what's been happening the last couple of weeks for those of you who are still interested.
Firstly I'm still at my moms and I got my little kitten. I've named her sascha and she is the sweetest thing but very energetic. For those of you asking for pictures I'll try, but she refuses to stay still long enough to get a one that's not blurred. I love her already. My mom continues to be my rock. IM still waiting for therapy but am finding reddit useful and therapeutic and the support I've received from most of the people on here has been great and helped me see things more clearly so a big thankyou to everyone.
As for my ex now that we've broken up I feel lighter and free and being away from him has made me see all the red flags that I was blind to in our relationship and feel like I've dodged a bullet. Luke (using real names because my posts were discovered) is not taking the breakup well and has taken over from my father constantly bothering me.
If you read this Luke we are DONE and I'm not changing my mind so stop calling me, stop coming to the house and stop sending me flowers! I'm moving on so you should too.
My sister Emma is still firmly on my side and has washed her hands of Jane (stepmonster) and they are not on speaking terms after my sister told everyone about Janes affairs.
Jane is still trying to save face saying my sister is lying and telling everyone she can how we are just the worst and that we have treated her terrible over the years and trying to ruin her marriage. Don't think anyone is buying what she is saying. She has sent abusive messages to me and my sister and when we've bumped into her she's been screaming at us and threatening us. My sisters car had been keyed and my store windows were smashed. We can't prove its her unfortunately but she is the most likely culprit.
My half siblings are definitely my dads children they tested then years ago when she was a baby. From what I've heard they're not speaking to Jane at all.
As for my dad he seems to have grown a spine and has kicked out Jane she is now living with her parents. From what I've heard he's thinking about divorce. I havnt had any contact with my dad except for a text saying he was sorry for everything. As for getting a restraining order I'm more concerned about getting one against Jane at the moment.

OOP on if she has cameras at her place
OOP: I have cameras but you can't see if it her because of the angle I'm getting more fitted for better coverage
OOP on if she has been speaking to her half siblings (father’s side) and how their relationships are with Jane now that the truth got out. And how the family is reacting
OOP: I'm not speaking to my dad or Jane or my half siblings. I've gotten this info from a cousin on my dad's side so not sure if it's true or if there is more to this. + The only people who knew were my grandparents and sister. Unfortunately when Jane and my sister fell out my sister decided to expose her on social media to everyone. My half siblings knew about her recent affair but not the one years ago.
As for my dad I don't know and I'm not going to reach out to ask
OOP on if she will forgive her father and if he would get a second chance without Jane present
OOP: Yep- hes destroyed my relationship, his and janes relationship with Emma and by sounds of it his own relationship. All because he couldn't respect my boundaries
No the damage is already done. He had his chance to fix things with me and he blew it. I just want to be left alone and get on with my life

2024.05.26 05:32 will_ferret_ WIBTA for quitting my friends small business?

For reference, I (26 F) have been helping a friend of mine, (23 F) Kim, with a mobile bar cart business that she started about a year ago. I met Kim about 2 years ago because she is a frequent customer at the local coffee shop that I manage and after her visiting almost everyday we developed a friendship. She came to me and asked if I would be willing to tag team bartending events with her and I of course agreed- wanting to help out her small business while also making some extra cash. We have done about 5 events thus far and I've had fun with them all although she doesn't pay me a set rate (the highest was $150 for 5 hours and the lowest being free) and the tips haven't turned out to be that worth it. I have done many favors surrounding this bar cart for her for free which I don't take into consideration as being a job, more as a favor to a friend. All that aside, I have fun at these events and I know how difficult it is to start and maintain a small business so I continue to help her.
I have always known to be cautious with Kim due to the fact that every female friendship she has formed has seemed to end in drama. She is a very "extravagant" person who has no filter and holds very strong opinions.
Fast forward to today- I came into my shift at work and was informed that Kim had told a coworker of mine that I had confided in her about my ex boyfriend wanting to get back together with me. I had told her this information in private and although I didn't explicitly ask her to not tell anyone, I assumed my burden would be kept between us- especially given how emotional I was about it. I don't share much of my private life with my employees (aside from a select few) and this put me in a vulnerable position. She then complained to this employee that I hadn't texted her back the night before when she needed a favor to be done and said I wasn't acting like myself. She also said that she has scheduled an interview with another bartender and to not tell me in case I were to get upset and complained about how I haven't been as available lately. She knows I have been going through a lot in my life lately and it was also my birthday week so I haven't been as present as I typically am.
We have an event scheduled for tomorrow but I don't feel right helping her out after this. I need an outside perspective on this and some advice on how to disconnect myself from her business in a way that won't cause discontempt. Am I an asshole for not helping out with the scheduled events I have already agreed to? How do I word this?

2024.05.26 05:13 josephinesparrows Love My Toddler But Sunday After A Busy Couple of Days Makes Me Grieve Pre-Baby Life

I love my 2 year old toddler, but man busy weekends make me long for the ability to spend all day gaming or reading or watching movies. The grief of my pre-baby life has definitely slowed down the older my son gets. I'm adjusting to always being needed and I love that my son can tell me what he wants now, but I do miss lounging around. Friday my son turned 2! We went to a zoo 2 hours away for a day trip. It was super fun! But we also had a party planned for Saturday and husband & I spent most of our free time that week cleaning. We all had fun at the party, but I'm so glad it's over! I'm so glad for my youngest sister who will search through the kitchen herself for stuff needed for the party instead of calling me over like other family members do.
Now that today is Sunday I wish we could have just relaxed all day, but our beautiful 2 year old boy still needed us of course <3 We are so happy to have him in our life and it's also a lot being parents. Poor thing has thrown up a couple of times today, I think sugar overload from yesterday. He's having a nap right now and I finally get some downtime and it's lovely. But we also had lots of lovely sleepy cuddles before nap time ❤️
I have loved celebrating his birthday, but it also makes me think about having been parents for two years. Crazy! I'm glad, but boy is this a wild ride of emotions! Now excuse me, I'm going to into fantasy land to read some more of Iron Flame 🥰

2024.05.26 05:00 UnfairAcanthisitta23 Have you heard of the guy who lost his whole left side? (21M)

He’s alright now. I love that shitty joke. I also have a shitty sense of humor. But that’s obvious, isn’t it?
I’d tell you my name, but let’s keep the anonymity on that for the time being. I like to have that kind of barrier when I’ve spoken to deranged medical students and a woman who thought she could be physically turned into a car. I wish I was joking.
I’m from Minnesota. I’m Latino and bi. I’m also a Gemini and my MBTI is ENFJ. I study business, I used to study sociology but then I dropped out of uni. Long story. I work as a server at a hotel for events such as weddings, birthday parties, business retreats. I love it and I hate it, the pay is why I’m still there.
I love listening to music, my favorite genres are rap, r&b, and alternative rock. I love to write from fiction to journaling. I love pretty much art in general, traveling, learning new things, and going out. Also play video games, but I haven’t had much time lately. I’m pretty much a pothead so I hope you’d be fine with that lmao. I feel like I can get along with anyone as long as you can put effort into the conversation lol.
I’d appreciate if you tell me a bit about yourself once you message me. I’m cool with moving onto a different platform later on.

2024.05.26 04:57 TG3RL1LY Are we the AHs for wishing ill on my wife's bridezilla cousin's wedding? And maybe completely ruining it?

My (41f) wife's (45f) cousin is an exhausting 37yo (f) choosing beggar and I'm shocked she found someone to marry her. Come to find out he's a lazy freeloader too.
TW: maybe some homophobia lots of entitled BS
I'd been dating my now wife two months when she invited me to CBs birthday BBQ for her 19th bday. CB called me, at my job and assigned a gift to me. My wife was appauled CB did this and explained that CB is the family freeloader that grifts like it's her job. Worse is that most of the family obliges her.
She is an "influencer" and "car model". She always has some bill or emergency that she needs money sent to her Cash app for - but will then show up with a new purse or outrageously pricey hair & nails. She begs on Facebook and X all the time and strangely she makes a good living off it.
Well she's getting married and she has basically assigned everyone in the family a chore and an expense for her wedding. She has thrown some epic fits about it too but again family consensus was we should all pitch in to give her her day.
Here's the problem, she's asking my wife and I to pay for the venue and catering, it's a small fortune. She said we "can afford it" that we are "living good" and "ain't got kids". I was also asked to be a bridesmaid but she said I couldn't look too "spooky", well I am a goth but I've worn a pink bridesmaid dress or two in the past so I didn't see the issue. When I asked why she asked me and not her cousin she said AND I QUOTE: "she's too lesbian looking, you know I'm not homophobia* like she just goes against my vision and aesthetic" My wife is a hot ass butchy punk and CB can eat a bag of dicks and I told her to straight to her face. We also agreed we are not paying for her venue or catering, we didn't want to in the first place but caved to keep the family peace.
Well she threw a fit and had a meltdown and said I twisted what she said. So my wife asked her what exactly she said and she said AND I QUOTE: "you're too, you know, you look like a guy and she's whats it called? A lipstick right?" Their grandmother heard this and she chewed CB a new one and pulled her financial support too - there goes their honeymoon. We also had an adorable conversation with her about why CB called me a lipstick.
This has divided the family. Others have decided not to pay for the things they were assigned. Still yet family members are saying we are bullying her. Her fiance has gotten into it and is spewing vague threats while asking if we can rent our pool house to them for free (it's literally just a changing room and a half bath and we foster cats in there) We are being called AHs for this. CB is now threatening self harm and my wife called for a well check on her, we are now being called AHs for that because it was embarrassing and she spent the night at the hospital and has to do follow ups and don't we understand how busy she is?!
We know we are not AHs for any of the above but we have been daydreaming elaborate ways to ruin her big day (which we'd never actually do) and would like to know are we the AHs for this? Is it wrong to wish karma and cumuppance on someone's "big day"? If not can you advise on ways we could be bigger AHs to her or other things we can fantasize about to ruin her day? Is it wrong that we have several family members all doing the same now, including some elderly ones? I'm honestly asking because even though we believe she made the self harm comments up, on the off chance she didn't should we stop being immature and just wash our hands of it?
Oh and would we be the AHs for going on a cruise vacation with grandma that is roughly the cost of CBs venue and catering? And make sure CB knows about it?
*She actually said she wasn't "homophobia" not "homophobic", and honestly she isn't. She's just selfish and stupid.

2024.05.26 04:56 businessnewstv What are the secrets to successful sales promotion?

Hey there! So you’re looking to boost your sales with some effective promotions? That’s a great idea! Sales promotions can really help drive traffic and increase revenue if done right. Here are some secrets to running successful sales promotions that I think you’ll find useful.
Here's a really good video on this: https://youtu.be/_0Ib1-nKFOQ
First off, **know your audience**. It’s crucial to understand who your customers are and what they want. Tailor your promotions to their preferences and needs. If you know what they’re looking for, you can create offers that are too good to pass up.
Next, **set clear goals**. What do you want to achieve with your promotion? Are you looking to clear out old inventory, attract new customers, or increase sales of a particular product? Having a clear goal will help you design a promotion that’s focused and effective.
**Create a sense of urgency**. Limited-time offers can create a sense of urgency that encourages customers to act quickly. Flash sales, countdown timers, and phrases like “while supplies last” can make people feel like they need to buy now or miss out.
**Offer real value**. Make sure your promotion offers something that’s genuinely valuable to your customers. Whether it’s a significant discount, a buy-one-get-one-free deal, or an exclusive freebie, the offer should feel like a real deal.
**Promote across multiple channels**. Don’t just rely on one platform to get the word out. Use social media, email marketing, your website, and even in-store promotions if you have a physical location. The more places people see your promotion, the more likely they are to take notice.
**Leverage social proof**. People are more likely to buy if they see that others are also interested in your promotion. Highlight customer reviews, share user-generated content, or show how many people have already taken advantage of the deal.
**Make it easy to participate**. The easier it is for customers to take advantage of your promotion, the better. Make sure the process is straightforward, whether it’s applying a discount code at checkout or simply clicking a link to get the deal.
**Track and analyze results**. Keep an eye on how your promotion is performing. Use analytics to track sales, customer engagement, and other key metrics. This will help you understand what works and what doesn’t, so you can refine your strategy for future promotions.
**Personalize your offers**. Personalized promotions can make customers feel special and more inclined to buy. Use customer data to tailor offers to individual preferences and buying habits. For example, send a discount on a product they’ve shown interest in or offer a birthday discount.
**Collaborate with influencers or partners**. Teaming up with influencers or other businesses can expand your reach. Influencers can promote your deals to their followers, and partnerships can create mutually beneficial promotions that attract a broader audience.
**Test different strategies**. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different types of promotions to see what resonates best with your audience. Try out various discounts, bundles, or loyalty rewards and see which ones drive the most engagement and sales.
**Focus on customer service**. Great customer service can enhance your promotion. Make sure your team is ready to handle increased traffic and inquiries. Respond quickly and positively to any issues that arise, and go the extra mile to ensure a smooth experience for your customers.
**Follow up after the promotion**. Keep the momentum going by following up with customers who took advantage of your promotion. Send thank-you emails, offer additional discounts, or ask for feedback. This can help turn one-time buyers into repeat customers.
**Create exclusive offers**. People love feeling like they’re getting something special. Offer exclusive deals to your email subscribers, loyalty program members, or social media followers. This not only rewards your most engaged customers but also encourages others to join your community.
**Utilize seasonal themes**. Timing your promotions around holidays, seasons, or special events can create additional excitement. Think about how you can tie your promotions to these occasions, whether it’s a summer sale, a holiday discount, or a back-to-school offer.
**Clear and compelling visuals**. Use eye-catching graphics and clear messaging to grab attention. Make sure your promotional materials are visually appealing and clearly communicate the offer. Good design can make a big difference in how your promotion is perceived.
**Create bundle deals**. Offering product bundles at a discounted rate can encourage customers to buy more than they initially intended. Bundles add value and can help move inventory that might not sell as quickly on its own.
**Offer free shipping**. Free shipping can be a huge incentive for online shoppers. Consider offering free shipping as part of your promotion, either site-wide or for orders over a certain amount.
So there you go! These are some secrets to running successful sales promotions. Remember, the key is to provide real value, make it easy for customers to take advantage of the offer, and promote it effectively. Good luck with your next promotion, and I’m here if you need any more advice!

2024.05.26 04:21 34576123 Help getting over crush

I got a bad case of the crush on my neighbor who said that he doesn’t want a relationship rn to focus on work.
My house is at the dead end of our street & I drive past his place everyday and walk by it on walks.
How do i get over this? I didn’t even think about dating him until he came to one of my shows and we got food after. Then we hung out for a couple weeks & I really enjoyed his company.
The texting increased after the “doesn’t want a relationship talk” and then dissipated after.
We just arent compatible. Im getting my life back together after a really crazy relationship and together in general - Im a ball of cortisol rn. And he is really chill, creative and secure.
I just started a high pressure job along with an entertainment business, and im using my vacation to direct a comedy camp - I don’t want to give anymore mental time to him and I just feel lost in how to get the crush to dissipate if im driving by all the time/walking past it.
I thought with so many other things going on in my life it would be easier to get over this. Its been almost a month and a half.
I am gonna start seeing a therapist (not just for this - that being said. TIME WILL BE SPENT)

2024.05.26 03:56 StellarJump91 My stepmother tried to donate my children's clothes behind my back. I don't want her near my family anymore.

For context, I (34F) live in Brazil. I'm not sure how well other countries are being informed of this, but the state of Rio Grande do Sul has been going through a devastating flood that is engulfing entire towns and affecting thousands of people. My family doesn't live in Rio Grande do Sul, but we, like many others, are donating to the survivors.
I live in an apartment with my husband (37M) and our children (10M and 6F). A couple weeks ago, we organized some of our kids' old clothes to donate. My father and stepmother told me that they were donating their clothes as well, and offered to stop by, pick up our clothes and donate everything together. I agreed.
The day of, I had an emergency at work. I left the clothes in two bags by the front door, gave my father the password to our place (we have a keypad lock and change the code frequently) and asked if he was okay stopping by while I wasn't there. He agreed, but later told me he was busy, and his wife would go instead. Some time later, my stepmother texted me, confirming she'd gotten the clothes.
When I got back home, both bags were still there. I instantly got confused. I started pondering what clothes my stepmother had picked up, which led me to check my kids' closets. Sure enough, half my daughter's clothes were gone, as well as about a third of my son's.
I called my father. Thankfully, they hadn't taken the donations anywhere yet, so I was able to get everything back. My stepmother explained she couldn't find the bags, so she just went to the closets and picked up whatever looked like it wouldn't fit them anymore.
If anyone else had done this, I probably wouldn't be this upset. Sure, the bags were right by the door, but I've been inattentive before. It happens. But knowing my stepmother did this drives me mad in ways I can't describe.
My relationship with my stepmother has always been bad. She was emotionally abusive towards me and my little sister when we were young. I could write a book about the damage she caused, but there's one particular part of the abuse that's relevant here.
Early in her relationship with my father, she put on some weight. When she started making efforts to lose it, she decided the entire family needed to do so as well. She told me (then a preteen and only slightly overweight) and my sister (this started when she was 5) that we were obese, forced us both into increasingly restrictive diets and tried to monitor what we ate at our mom's place.
We were too young to understand what was actually going on, so my mom didn't realize how abusive the situation was until years later. From that moment on, our contact with our father (who joined in on the restrictions most of the time) and stepmother was mostly limited.
We both managed to reconcile with our father, but the damage had been done. To this day, I have a complicated relationship with food. Years later, my stepmother was diagnosed with BPD. She's still in therapy and has apologized, but I never forgave her and I never will. I'm cordial with her, but only for my father's sake.
She's tried to make comments about my daughter's weight before, but me and my husband (and sometimes my father) always shut her down. Every time my stepmother buys her clothes, they are at least two sizes too big (we always exchange them). My daughter is actually small for her age, which only makes this more ridiculous.
Looking at the clothes she tried to steal from my kids almost made me weep. Every single piece was either brand new or just fit them perfectly. Some of their favorite clothes were there. There's an astronaut onesie my daughter got for her birthday, literally two weeks ago, that she's obsessed with. Four of her favorite dresses, some of her costumes, her ballet uniforms (?!) and a few shirts she also loves were almost gone forever as well. She stole less from my son, but still took many of his favorites as well.
I'm cutting contact with my stepmother. My husband agrees with me. I don't care how much therapy she's done or how much she seems to have improved, I don't want her anywhere near my family ever again. This was the last straw, I refuse to let her damage my children the way she damaged me.
But I don't know how to talk to my father about this. We've both put a lot of effort into our relationship, and I don't want to lose whatever we still have.

2024.05.26 03:44 YubinBlu updated my game to 1.6.1170, updated skse & ussep, but skyrim wont launch.

Ok, so before anyone starts yelling about how stupid I am for not knowing how to fix it (speaking from experience), please read thoroughly first. Im asking for help because I have done everything I can on my own, with the free time I have. Ive been trying to crack at this for quite some time, and have feverishly researched as much as I can, but to no avail.
I have been modding my skyrim on my own for years now, and had a really good setup without flaws. Im currently around 336 mods, and I use mo2. Here is the issue: I had used ver 1.5.9 confortably for quite a while. A little while ago, I was talking with another skyrim friend, and they convinced me to update my game ver (more mod compatability, etc etc) so I did. Im now on the (as of posting this) newest game ver, 1.6.1170. Yes, I did read this in its entirety and followed all the steps https://modding.wiki/en/Skyui_Skse64_installation_guide New skse, ussep, address library etc. Core function mods have been updated! When I tried to launch skyrim, it would crash on the intro screen. Eventually I messed with it and got my skyrim to load, but I noticed my hdt smp werent working (most likely not the only issue, but the first thing i noticed). So I went and re-downloaded the newest version of faster hdt smp, ran nemesis, and suddenly im back at square one. Now my game wont even launch. I even tried disabling my physics, and still no launch. So I redownloaded the old version of the mod that I used when my game (almost) successfully launched, and still wont work. This is something I found odd, given it successfuly launched before.
Right now im just really stressed, tired, and pregnant, and I just wanna relax and play my skyrim :( I havent been able to devote all my time to this, but the time I have devoted hasnt been successful. If anyone has any suggestions, ideas or anything, please share! My best idea was redownloading every single mod I have, one by one, tear by tear, wrist cramp by wrist cramp. Im just double checking to see if there are other solutions that are less agonizing. Even if the answer is simple, please dont respond with snark and mockery :/ Again, im pregnant, stressed, and very busy. Please treat others the way you want to be treated. (Also wanted to add: im not blaming the new game ver. Its clearly a mod thing. I have confidence once things are fixed, everything will run perfectly smooth) Thank you for reading🩷

Will the controller for the air 3 and the goggles for the avata be cross compatible? I'm thinking about getting my 107 certificate and starting a drone videography business. Just wanting to know if they work with the brand?

2024.05.26 03:26 Inevitable_Potato113 How do you know when your friendship is ending?

I have a best friend whom I’ve known for about my entire relationship with my husband lol. They’re cousins. We’re each other’s godparents for our kids. We’ve always been really close; we share the same interests and can always guess what the other is thinking…. You get the gist haha.
She got a big job last year and then she just got really busy. We barely see each other. We used to see each other every other week (20 min). She’s always been awful about responding but now it can take up to a week. Sometimes I feel like I’m being irrational and immature. But I miss her. It was my birthday this past week and usually we do stuff together. i just got a happy birthday text. Our husbands are awful about celebrations so we usually spoil each other… i just don’t know. It doesn’t feel the same anymore. How do I know if she’s just not wanting to be friends anymore?

2024.05.26 03:21 BarricadeAnnihilator [27/M] Looking for slightly extrovertedish nerd to help a homebody out (NYC)

Looking for women who live in New York City around 22-31
Looking for a mentor figure for someone like me who wants to make new friends but suffers from social anxiety. I don't really need to make a crazy amount of friends but eventually at least half a dozen I can consider reliable in my life would be the long term goal.
I am looking for a girlfriend, but I'm not really expecting to find one on this platform and I'm looking for someone in particular that I'd be massively compatible with so there's no pressure for that, let's just focus on becoming friends for the time being.
I like to game quite a bit although I've been too busy with a lot of things the past few months to play much at all. Hopefully things will loosen up eventually. I got Steam and Switch and some other stuff I haven't touched in ages lol. I do enjoy reading sometimes but haven't thought of anything to read lately, feel free to recommend something you like if you can!
I'm white 161 pounds 5'10 looking for someone kind and understanding who isn't intimidating with nerdy interest that I could occasionally hang out with every few weeks in person with a mix of online. I am a mega homebody so this is a big shake up for me. I'll need you to be someone who isn't judgemental that I can be my goofy self with. I prefer you initiate conversation and talk about yourself so I can get a better idea of who you are and how to approach you.
I'm also someone who tries to be judgement free that you can talk about your problems with. Pretty funny but not funny looking. I've been dealing with a lot of stress for a while but I've been working to manage it a little bit better so I can try to empathize a bit instead of just sounding you out.
If you don't tell me how old you are and are not close to or in NYC I will block you (it's better to be safe than sorry)

2024.05.26 03:08 Away-Bug3285 AITAH for contacting my estranged father without telling my siblings first?

(I'm very new to reddit - I think you would say "throw away account" ???? lmao)
Like with any family issue, this one requires a LOT of context - but I'll try to be brief.
I (26F) am the youngest of four siblings (28M - Jordan, 30NB - Alex, 32F - Sarah). We had a very rough childhood: our mom died when we were very young and our dad is very likely, but undiagnosed, bipolar and just a stereotypical white conservative Christian (that one's diagnosed by ME). Without going too deep into it, he's manipulative, controlling, apathetic, racist, homophobic, and sexist. You get the idea. A couple years ago, I found some of his writing (he let me borrow his desk for work and I was looking for some paper). Long story short, he had been writing truly, truly horrible stuff about us for years (saying he wished he never had us, we were disappointments, etc - some really bad shit). I was devastated. I took pictures of everything, and went through the process of telling my siblings. I confronted my dad over the phone and told him my siblings and I would need space until he was ready to seek therapy and treatment. He would text on birthdays like nothing had ever happened, but besides that it was clear he didn't think he ever did anything wrong.
Since everything happened with my Dad, all four of us have been content (or as content as one can be) with not talking to our Dad. However, my Dad has all of our childhood photos, home videos, and scrapbooks our Mom made. I was a toddler when she passed, so I don't have any memories of her. As the years went by, I was determined to somehow get those things back for me and my siblings. I brought it up to my siblings a lot: Jordan and Alex said they would go with me, but then agreed that it would be better if I went with a friend as a buffer. Sarah was concerned about any of us going - saying she was worried he would get physical (I was confident he wouldn't and I think she was too, she just was worried about the worst case scenario. He has never been violent or threatened/shown signs of violence with anyone). Time and time again, those conversations ended with my siblings going "eh we'll just have to let it go." To avoid issues, I didn't push back, but it wasn't something I could not let go of.
My siblings and I have always been close. Growing up, I would constantly hear "we're all we have/we don't need anyone else." We definitely leaned on each other for survival. Because of this, I never really put the effort of getting close to outside friends. I moved in with Sarah and Alex after high school, and I lived with Alex until two years ago. Whenever something happened with our Dad growing up or after we became adults, we would tell each other - it was kind of unspoken that we all wanted to know everything. Alex and Sarah have always been extremely close. Alex and I used to be that close too, until I moved out and Alex started working for Sarah. My brother Jordan and I have grown a lot, and have little to no issues - but he is adamant about not choosing sides when I have arguments with Alex and Sarah.
We've had problems off and on with each other. It wasn't until I moved out of the place I was living with Alex and made some friends outside of my family that I realized our relationships with each other were far more toxic than I thought. Growing up, my Dad (the oldest son in his own family) always made sure I wasn't babied because his youngest brother was. The result: my siblings "won" every argument, I was the butt of every joke/ belittled because of my age, and I was often told that my opinion didn't matter. Again, I didn't see this until I had space from my siblings. When we would see each other, we immediately would fall back into this dynamic.
In the last year, when I try to bring up our Dad (small things! a post he made, etc), Alex asked me to give a trigger warning in our group chat so they didn't have to read the text or hear the news when they weren't ready for it. I understood that - they don't want to be bombarded with news of our Dad in the middle of their day. Alex has voiced to me that they don't want me to bring up our Dad when Sarah is busy with work or dealing with personal issues. But at the same time, they both expected to hear every update and would get mad at me if I didn't tell them immediately.
After three years of working out a way to get the pictures back, I planned to go with my friend and wait to tell my siblings until after. Sarah was very busy with work, and I was genuinely trying to be considerate of their boundaries. I wanted to get the pictures and be done with it altogether. I would write down everything he said to me and wait until Sarah wasn't so busy to let them know I had news. So, I texted him letting him know I was coming by the next day and went. Bringing a friend was exactly the right thing. He was surface level and didn't bring anything up. Not so great: he put all of the photos and videos in storage before I came. I had to call him later in the week to ask him for them. He said he would digitize them and send them to me. I expect he'll make me wait for them, but I'm not going to stop trying. On the phone, I prepped some things to say to him if the topic of our falling out came up. It did, and I wrote everything he said down so I could relay it to my siblings. I gave him all false info about my life and never once mentioned my siblings - the conversation was purely about our relationship and his treatment towards me growing up. He hasn't changed enough for me to feel comfortable letting him back into my life, but SOME of the conversation was okay.
I called Jordan first and told him everything. He was super appreciative. He said everything I said was perfect and he was confident that I was the only person who would've had the patience and bravery to stand up to him. I had a feeling Alex and Sarah would be mad at me talking to him at all, but Jordan said he would defend me on a call with them. For a week, when Sarah had more time, I tried to get on the phone with my siblings so I could tell them what happened. No one really responded. So I texted something like "I have news about Dad if you guys are able to hop on a call/ want to hear. Everything/one is okay!" They asked if I talked to him and I told them yes, and that I would update them if they wanted to hear it. We immediately got on a FaceTime. Alex and Sarah were together and it was clear as day that they were PISSED. I asked if they were okay, and they passive aggressively said "yep!" I tried to start telling them, but I was slowly getting more and more anxious. I told them I didn't feel like I had a support system in telling them this and they immediately went into saying how I should've told them first before talking to him or going there. They said I did it selfishly and didn't consider them at all, and that I have a "pattern" of doing things without telling them first. Sarah said I was just like our Dad and Alex said that this was an issue of consent. Everything I said about trying to respect their boundaries and considering them in every step of this (writing every single thing down, giving a warning about updates before giving them) was completely disregarded. I knew that nothing I would've done would've been good enough - even if I would've told them beforehand something else would've come up. I repeated a million times that hurting them wasn't my intent and tried to stand up for myself - saying that immediately responding with anger and aggression towards me was unfair and isolating. They said they constantly have to "navigate around my feelings" and that I'm overly sensitive. I apologized multiple times for hurting them. I should've done this earlier, but I was trying to get them to see my perspective. I didn't get an apology and all of our plans coming up have been cancelled (by them). Jordan didn't defend me at all - he was trying to keep his own peace and Alex and Sarah are SCARY when they're angry.
After talking to friends, I realize a lot of the boundaries they've set or arguments we've had have been in response to my showing steps towards my independence from them. Sarah recently got mad at me for not telling her I was going alone to see our extended family. Not because she wanted to go, just because they didn't have a say in me going. She didn't confront me about this, she was just passive aggressive in our group chat. A year ago for xmas, I planned a present for my siblings. I was going to interview members of our family and some of my Mom's old friends, asking about our Mom. I recorded the conversations and started to edit them together so we could all have a digital collection of memories about our Mom. It ended up spiraling me a little bit - it was really hard to have so many of these conversations at once. I decided to take a break but I told my siblings about it and shared a lot of the memories I was told. Sarah and Alex were appreciative at first, but soon began passive aggressively asking over and over if they would ever hear it. Every couple of months, they would make a jab about it and accuse me of gatekeeping it/the people I contacted. I told them they could contact them whenever they wanted and recently edited one conversation together for them to listen to. It's been over two months and they still haven't listened to it.
After our FaceTime, I found out that Alex and Sarah have been resentful for over a year that I made the project a gift to them instead of telling them first. That's what they meant when they said "pattern" on the call. This might be what's making me most upset. Both the project and my getting the photos back were genuine attempts at connection and healing with my siblings, but they were completely spun into this toxic mess. they never even told me that's what they felt about the project - I had to hear it from Jordan. I've never told them they can't talk to our family about our Mom?? It's just threatening their control over me. I have told them that, as much as I understand they want to hear it, it's important for me to finish it myself. We're talking about over 30 hours of conversations between me and someone else. Plus, I'm the only one who doesn't have memories of my Mom, and my family/ her friends don't think of me when they think of her kids. They think of Sarah and Alex, and I haven't had the agency before to ask these questions and get to know these amazing people.
We've always been close and this kind of damage has never happened before. It has me considering whether I'm as horrible as they say. I've been in therapy off and on for 12 years and have really worked on my communication. I know I'm not perfect by any means, but I've done a LOT to heal and grow. I'm teetering between feeling like a horrible sibling and feeling angry that my siblings continue to inflict such damage on our already messed up family life.
