I was reading some texts by Foyan when he mentioned Seng-ts'an and his writings. I decided to share and comment on the whole poem which is called Hsin Hsin Ming. The poem is huge, so buckle up!
On having no preferences.

The Perfect Way is only difficult for those who pick and choose; Do not like, do not dislike; all will then be clear. Make a hairbreadth difference, and Heaven and Earth are set apart; If you want the truth to stand clear before you, never be for or against. The struggle between "for" and "against" is the mind's worst disease; While the deep meaning is misunderstood, it is useless to meditate on Rest. It [the Buddha-nature] is blank and featureless as space; it has no "too little" or "too much;" Only because we take and reject does it seem to us not to be so.

If you support and objectify something outside yourself, that is already a preference. And then you will reject any view that denies your view of truth. However if you do not have such an object to look towards, what will you do? What would it look like not to fight against another view?
On taking things as they are.

Do not chase after Entanglements as though they were real things, Do not try to drive pain away by pretending that it is not real; Pain, if you seek serenity in Oneness, will vanish of its own accord. Stop all movement in order to get rest, and rest will itself be restless; Linger over either extreme, and Oneness is for ever lost. Those who cannot attain to Oneness in either case will fail: To banish Reality is to sink deeper into the Real; Allegiance to the Void implies denial of its voidness.

There is no use to clean your glasses with your own fingers, it will only smudge them more. By trying to fabricate states or change your current state hoping to have a nicer experience, you will only get further estranged from yourself. By reacting to emotions, you will create even more emotions. Why force rest or peace? Why prefer something more real? How can something other than this experience be more real?
On intellectualization.

The more you talk about It, the more you think about It, the further from It you go; Stop talking, stop thinking, and there is nothing you will not understand. Return to the Root and you will find the Meaning; Pursue the Light, and you will lose its source, Look inward, and in a flash you will conquer the Apparent and the Void. For the whirligigs of Apparent and Void all come from mistaken views;

This reminds of the monk who got to go on a walk with his master and they watched the sunset together. At one point the monk could not help himself and said "How beautiful!". His master never allowed him to on a walk with him. Of course, this is an extreme case, but by expressing / looking for the beauty in words, it is no longer the same beauty. It is, as if, examined by one and no longer of-itself.
On duality of "Is" and "Isn't".

There is no need to seek Truth; only stop having views. Do not accept either position [Assertion and Negation], examine it or pursue it; At the least thought of "Is" and "Isn't" there is chaos and the Mind is lost. Though the two exist because of the One, do not cling to the One; Only when no thought arises are the Dharmas without blame. No blame, no Dharmas; no arising, not thought.

From the One Mind are born "this" or "that". It can flower in any direction, but don't consider it your own and see it as an arbitrary view.
On me and you.

The doer vanishes along with the deed, The deed disappears when the doer is annihilated. The deed has no function apart from the doer; The doer has no function apart from the deed. The ultimate Truth about both Extremes is that they are One Void. In that One Void the two are not distinguished; Each contains complete within itself the Ten Thousand Forms.

One void, not two, not me, not you. So tell me, who knows more than others? Who has views that others don't see? Who argues with another?
On having no fixed path.

Only if we boggle over fine and coarse are we tempted to take sides. In its essence the Great Way is all embracing; It is as wrong to call it easy as to call it hard. Partial views are irresolute and insecure, Now at a gallop, now lagging in the rear. Clinging to this or to that beyond measure The heart trusts to bypaths that lead it astray. Let things take their own course; know that the Essence will neither go nor stay; Let your nature blend with the Way and wander in it free from care.

Only a fool would try to put a nail in the sky. What is subtle and what is surface understanding? There is a point where they no longer mean anything separately. What then? When things are seen for what they are, as appearances in the One Mind, all boundaries begin to crumble. In nature some branches grow short, some long, all is the body of Buddha.
On splitting the hair in half.

Thoughts that are fettered turn from Truth, Sink into the unwise habit of "not liking." "Not liking" brings weariness of spirit; estrangements serve no purpose. If you want to follow the doctrine of the One, do not rage against the World of the Senses. Only by accepting the World of the Senses can you share in the True Perception. Those who know most, do least; folly ties its own bonds. In the Dharma there are no separate dharmas, only the foolish cleave To their own preferences and attachments.

Don't sit in your meditation or emptiness and reject everything. Don't sit with your Zen texts and reject what is not in your Zen texts. There is One Dharma and it manifests as all. Estrange yourself from your perceptions and senses and you will estrange yourself from the One Dharma.
On no differentiation.

To use Thought to devise thoughts, what more misguided than this? Ignorance creates Rest and Unrest; Wisdom neither loves nor hates. All that belongs to the Two Extremes is inference falsely drawn- A dream-phantom, a flower in the air. Why strive to grasp it in the hand? "Is" and "Isn't," gain and loss banish once for all: If the eyes do not close in sleep there can be no evil dreams; If the mind makes no distinctions all Dharmas become one.

I see this as river, it does not look for the best course, it just flows into the best course. It does not blame rocks for being in the way, it just goes over them. What do you blame? What is it that you want to accomplish and what is it that stands in your way?
On the end of complication.

Let the One with its mystery blot out all memory of complications. Let the thought of the Dharmas as All-One bring you to the So-in-itself. Thus their origin is forgotten and nothing is left to make us pit one against the other. Regard motion as though it were stationary, and what becomes of motion? Treat the stationary as though it moved, and that disposes of the stationary. Both these having thus been disposed of, what becomes of the One?

When you wake up from a dream in the morning, it instantly becomes unreal. In the same way, when all subjective complications are forgotten once and for all, the only flow of existence is revealed to have never ceased. Eternally This, ever flowing.
On freedom.

At the ultimate point, beyond which you can go no further, You get to where there are no rules, no standards, To where thought can accept Impartiality, To where effect of action ceases, Doubt is washed away, belief has no obstacle. Nothing is left over, nothing remembered; Space is bright, but self-illumined; no power of mind is exerted. Nor indeed could mere thought bring us to such a place. Nor could sense or feeling comprehend it. It is the Truly-so, the Transcendent Sphere, where there is neither He nor I.
For swift converse with this sphere use the concept "Not Two;" In the "Not Two" are no separate things, yet all things are included. The wise throughout the Ten Quarters have had access to this Primal Truth; For it is not a thing with extension in Time or Space; A moment and an aeon for it are one. Whether we see it for fail to see it, it is manifest always and everywhere. The very small is as the very large when boundaries are forgotten; The very large is as the very small when its outlines are not seen.

Thusness is the place of non-abiding. No one does the non-abiding so we can say that it happens of itself. This is the freedom that is sought after through endless kalpas of thoughts and emotions. Who would have thought that even thoughts and emotions are of themselves, part of it.
William Blake says:

To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour. 

On the futility of words and trusting the Heart.

Being is an aspect of Non-being; Non-being is an aspect of Being. In climes of thought where it is not so the mind does ill to dwell. The One is none other than the All, the All none other than the One. Take your stand on this, and the rest will follow of its own accord; To trust in the Heart is the Not Two, the Not Two is to trust in the Heart. I have spoken, but in vain; for what can words tell Of things that have no yesterday, tomorrow or today?

Here we meet the paradox of being and non being, of using words to describe the word-less. What does it really mean to trust the Heart? We cannot convey that in any direct way using language. To be honest, we cannot convey much directly using language. Seeing things as not two, or not separate is to have trust in the Heart, or to put it in another way, not closing yourself off via intellectual analysis or emotional reactions is to have trust in the Heart. I met a girl in a Facebook group, we had the same religion but we lived very far away
A conversation arose and we got along very well since forever, a rare connection these days
Our conversations were always pleasant, and little by little we became interested in each other's lives.
After just a few weeks of talking, we were completely involved, making daily calls before bed. Calls that lasted more than 3 hours
Little by little she convinced me that it was a good idea to travel 328 miles to meet her.
After about 2 months of conversation, I went to her city, which was in another state.
We got along very well, our first interaction was a kiss and it continued that day with kisses and laughter
We were already planning on her helping me find a job so we could be close
At the end of the day I felt she was very anxious, I called her a few times from the hotel at the end of the night to see if everything was ok, but she said she slept
The next day, as was my custom, I sent her a nice good morning, but she responded in a cold and dry manner.
I asked if everything was ok and she replied that it wasn't because she was undecided about us. I told her we could talk about it at lunch, but she said she felt "bugged" and so that day I left she didn't accompany me and didn't even say goodbye to me.
Obviously I was furious with the situation, because I had traveled 8 hours just to meet her and she had insulted me, and I ended up insulting her through messages
She took the action of blocking me from everything and since then I have had no contact

We are a Family of 5 siblings me being the oldest and everyone a year apart from each other.. the middle one (a girl) was adopted , she is technically our first cousin, my Dad brought her in at the age of 4 from another country because she was being neglected and had Turberculosis, (essentially saved her life) .. we grew up together and treated her like one of our own (atleast from my point of view) we had a good childhood, lots of playtime, lots of fights (like normal kids fight) and lots of church (religious catholic family)
Our mother then passes away from Cancer when I was 15 devastating all of us.. we had just moved 6 months prior to her passing and changing schools was not an easy transition for none of us. (Something to note was that when she was 8years old her appendix burst and had an emergency surgery, the fluid spread all over her stomach and ovaries ruining them and causing her not to be able to have kids)
she then starts misbehaving at around 15, drinking underaged and going out with boys disrespecting the house constantly (my other 2 sisters in the other hand were straight A validectorian students).. this bad behavior continues all throughout her twenties, having dozens of so-called boyfriends and girlfriends and a bunch of drug abuse..
Thought out all this time she was in and out of our lives only showing up every two to Three years after a break up or financial hardship.. we always took her in because we always saw her as our own.
At 33 She then meets this older man of a different race (we’re Latino he is White) recently divorced and very well off, he too cannot have kids either, so a match made in heaven, she then starts inviting us siblings over to his house where she had moved into and throwing parties for us.. note that we grew up poor so all these lavish things were a bit new and weird to get used to.. but it didn’t matter, we went because of our sister and she was happy.
At this point I’m married with two kids another on the way, my brother is 34 single no kids running a business and the other sisters also unmarried no kids working on their careers .. and this adopted one with the rich dude .. we got along well and I was very fond of this new boyfriend.. I did what I could to make a good impression and show that her family supported her.
One day she calls in all the women (sisters, my wife and a couple of her friends) to start planning her wedding.. at that point there was no official engagement, so I assumed that was it..
This is when things get crazy
We threw a baby shower for my wife where they attended and it was a great time we had lots of fun and then they mentioned that they were gonna do a smaller wedding, a destination wedding as well to accommodate some of his family.. I was like “great! That works out for everybody!”
The following week after the baby shower It was brought to my attention that something was wrong with my sister (engaged one) that she was calling everyone out on Instagram.. she had posted a picture of her official engagement ring and was livid that none of us congratulated her and that we didn’t care.. she then went off saying private stuff publicly and bad mouthing our dead mother .. we tried to reach out to her to get together in person or talk on the phone but she wouldn’t do that.. she kept going digging skeletons out of the closet and telling everybody about it.
She then proceeded to get my dad (now remarried) and two of my uncles to go to Her house and cry her eyes out to them about her childhood trauma and in the process keep bashing our dead mother and saying a huge secret from one of the youngest sister she had sweared to take to the grave.. (little sister had aborted a child and told adopted sister about it) huge betrayal if you ask me.. so now the whole Catholic family knows about this
She then tells us siblings to fk off outta her life, makes some petty insults about her being rich and us poor, all without meeting in person.. behind her keyboard/phone.. she says she has my dad on her side and that’s all the matters because he is going to walk her down the isle.. blocks all of us siblings.
I WANT TO RUIN HER WEDDING , out of the disrespect and betrayal she did to my family
What should I do?

My fellow gamers, for too long has our community suffered the indignation of an intolerable culture that has denigrated, besmirched, exploited, and has outright demonized our culture of unique individuals with a genuine love of a hobby that they see as profitable and progressive. They have taken beloved IP’s (Intellectual Properties) and twisted them into their own personal ideological crusade of undermining and humiliating the core aspects of characters they deemed as “Toxic” or “White Supremacy”. Through the guise and protection of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity) & ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) they have used our influence in the entertainment industry to push their narratives and agendas that have stigmatized our culture with numerous anti-consumer practices that they call “being progressive”. But the truth of the matter is they were never really looking to be a part of our community, they simply wanted to use our community as a tool of activism and propaganda in the entertainment industry as it was extremely profitable, and they wanted inclusion in that division. Ever since GamerGate & Female Frequency, we have had to endure the incursion of forced ideologies, xenophobic behaviors and inferior overpriced products that have never been in our best interest and have been flat out disgraceful towards foreign media.
Before Gaming had become a major source of entertainment, we were often categorized as anti-social or societies rejects where because we found more enjoyment in playing fictional characters and not spending as much time out and about, we never fully assimilated in society (which is a good thing if you ask me). From 1998 to 2007, at the height of innovation, creativity and production, Gaming had reached a golden age in which it had revolutionized society. Hollywood Execs who had ruined the movie industry turned their attention to video games as a source of income since video games had outperformed movies in terms of profit. No one was concerned about gaming, much less diversity or inclusivity until it became profitable. This makes people like SBI look extremely disingenuous as they were not interested in gamers as a community with its own culture. They simply wanted to use it as another weapon in identity politics.
Microtransactions; the hidden enemy to gamer progress and inducer to mental laziness of our community. Microtransactions have been around for a long time; however, it has never been more potent and apparent than in recent years. It has aided in the dismantling and segregation of players on the ideology of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and has created another sub-culture of gamers who have no real drive to be better outside of how much money they put into the game. This has degraded our culture as well as we have become “fat” off transactional gaming but at the same time we have been “starved” of purposeful gaming where our achievements were our sustenance. I am not saying that microtransactions are bad, but when they are exploitative and predatorial like they have been and don’t give gamers room to grow, we become lethargic and unwilling to improve ourselves as gamers. Oversaturated microtransactional games are one of the many reasons why we have become complacent and unwilling to fight against the exploitative tactics used by big brand game companies such EA, Ubisoft, ActivisionBlizzard, NaughtyDog and so many other western business model companies. Western style games were not like this in the past, they had much more depth and actual effort put into them with the gamer in mind. This has not been the case for over a decade and our connection to western developers has been whittled down to just being transactional. That is one of the reasons why you see so many remasters and remakes in today’s gamer community. They have lost their willingness to improve as developers of games and simply accept corporate/share holder rules.
Game journalists also do not have any real integrity or purpose outside of being funded for their involvement in promoting IPG (Identity Political Games) in a positive light to the public whether it’s positively received or not. They are not interested in what we have to say, they all support the same agenda and that is why they are a dying breed. Within the next couple of years, they will be out of the job and more than likely they will not be able to stay in the industry giving how they have responded to past articles that have clearly been scripted on the premise of diversity and racism. Not only that, but most of them are also extremely hostile to the community as they stereotype and defame the individuals that are a part of the community they are supposed to serve. We have been mentally liberated from their lies and coercive tactics as we tend to laugh at their obvious attempt at virtue signaling while hiding their misdoings so that they can play the victim.
My gamer brothers & sisters, I would not suggest the following action that we must take now without good cause. I have weighed our options and the best option for us now is this…...CULTURAL SECESSION. Naturally this is a form of segregation where they would more than likely claim they are being segregated by the dominant culture of the gaming community but that is incorrect. For years now we have been the ones who are often marginalized and ostracized for the smaller portion of our community. And when we aren’t, we’re exploited for more funds so that these companies can stay in business only to subject us to low quality products that coincide with the “WOKE Agenda” that are often huge expenses to these big brands i.e. AAA/AAAA games that will eventually flop for its obvious forced diversity and bug infested product which will undoubtedly piss off the consumer to the point of wanting a refund. Losing copious amounts of capital and stock in the process, not to mention their reputation is permanently marred.
We must separate on every cultural level in terms of entertainment and ideology. We must reject everything from the west that promotes toxic western beliefs, practices, and exclusion from other cultures (i.e. Southeastern Countries such as Japan and Korea). Japan & Korea have been the targets of unjust discrimination from Western Developers, Western Journalists, Western Localizers (The Wokelizers) and Western Society Prejudice regarding their sense of aesthetics as Westerners hate the aesthetic sense of these countries. The reason why they resort to such base tactics isn’t just because it weaponizes the ideal female form but it’s also because they have deep-seated insecurities about their own looks so when they see attractive female characters, they use terms such as “unrealistic” or “hypersexualized” to establish the moral high ground. But the truth is, they want to feel superior to that which is ideal, so they insult and dehumanize this figure that portrays natural female beauty because they see it as an insult to their own social superiority in what they believe is a hierarchy of them being at the top of all other women. Because of this and so many contributing factors, their movies flop harder than the Fat Chocobo landing on a group of enemies and their games seismically fail just as much if not more. We must sever our connection to Western Developers, Publishers, and ALL Western-Centric Entertainment for they seek to mentally enslave us to their Xenophobic ideology.
Let’s define Western Culture and its traits. Western Culture/Society is composed of more than several different ideologies that work in unison with one another to facilitate dominance over multiple aspects of society. Business, Social, Political, Technological, and sometimes even Global Affairs are affected by these ideologies that portray a specific mindset of Western beliefs. What are those ideologies you ask?

• Perpetual Victimhood: By weaponizing the fact that they are marginalized and of a small portion of western society, they can push their agenda to absurd standards that ultimately ostracize the main demographic. And when companies don’t capitulate, they are labeled as anti-progressive/misogynist’s or cohorts of White Supremacy. They use this to cancel their targets and silence them through societal defamation to keep the public on their side. They also use this mindset to justify their own lack of self-agency as they tend to throw companies who do adhere to their demands but miserably fail to turn a profit under the bus so that they can maintain face in front of the public while denying their actual involvement. They will never accept “Sense of Agency” when it’s negative but will gladly accept it when a positive outcome shines on them as if they are entitled to it.

• Societal Terrorism: This is another form of ideology weaponization that they use in order to make companies “toe-the-line” with their agenda. By weaponizing cancel culture, they exert dominance over these companies but in exchange they also reimburse those companies with DEI & ESG funds that raise their credit score as well as having social status with the marginalized demographic. However; cancel culture has not succeeded in years and developers and publishers probably only want the money and the DEI ESG rating. But they have to maintain the image of having social economic power so that they can continue to strong-arm other developers into compliance and promoting financial benefits of DEI & ESG. In other words, if you are not for sale, they discredit and stigmatize you in the industry.

• “Its not us, its you who’s wrong” Mentality: This mentality is especially annoying as they tend to use it to hide their incompetence. They often look down upon gamers who are not in the industry to hide their obvious lack of knowledge on game development thinking that their job title grants them special status that they believe gives them the right to be condescending. But the truth they never wanted revealed has already strangled their careers of all credibility. They were never GAMERS, they were INVADERS. Community Colonists that seek to indoctrinate next generational gamers into their hive-mind and brand previous generations of gamers as villains.

• Double-standard Enforcement: By labeling something as “unrealistic” or “hypersexualized”, they can claim this is morally wrong if it promotes traditional dynamics between men and women. Heterosexual relationships are condemned while at the same time Same-sex relationships are praised. Additionally, heterosexual relationships with main white male characters turn antagonistic and spotlight stealing. This is deliberate as to promote the “Girl Boss” ideology to indoctrinate women into the Feminazi state of mind. While at the same time, should a male character also adopt the “I don’t need male/female” ideology its seen as Toxic Masculinity which isn’t even a real thing. The idea of a strong male character is taboo while enforcing strong female characters is the ideal.

• Dehumanization/Demonization: This is something that most military branches use in order to remove conscious inhibitions such as mass slaughter is wrong or categorization. By enforcing ideologies to denounce humanity in certain targets, it deactivates your conscience by saying this is not human therefore its ethically okay to treat this target without compassion and deny the fact it has sentience. We gamers fall under this category for journalists, developers, companies and society at large. This is a tactic we are familiar with to an extent as it implies that we are not normal when we do not do what everybody else is doing. “Geeks are the worse” or “Nerds need to fall into a pit of lava” are verbal dehumanization forms that most people in society say and we as Gamers tend to be relegated to those categories. This is their way of imposing the social hierarchy on us by establishing superiority. We know this as Gamers as we see it very often in the games that we play and some times experience it in real life.

• Deflection/Projection: This is basic psychology 101. By redirecting the conversation away from their mistakes and back on to the opposing view to avert blame and justify their innocence they can avoid criticism. However; deflection is a CONSCIOUS decision, meaning they have no real argument to justify their incompetence. If you can consciously process the situation, you have self-agency which means you don’t have a legitimate excuse. Projection is something else entirely. Most times, Projection doesn’t work on conscious decisions rather it is automatically deployed when feeling threatened, anxious or both. Instead of accepting accountability for feelings or actions that are deemed socially unacceptable they accuse others of committing that unacceptable behavior thereby exonerating themselves and proving that those feelings and/or actions are not their own.

These traits are so nefarious and unconscionable that I have a hard time believing that anyone could harbor them. However, given the social, political, and economic climate that we are in, those in power who use their influence on controlling society most definitely possess these insidious traits. Everything that they do is all about control and since video games are the biggest market in the world, they want control over it and the communities built around it to accrue more wealth and to use that wealth to subjugate other cultures. Mainstream media is a tool as well as mainstream organizations and sites to help accomplish this goal.
The government recently announced its intentions towards what they believe is “GamerGate 2.0” and now even the ADL has made an official appearance, referring to gamers as “extremist’s”. We know EXACTLY what they are doing, and they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore because they don’t think we are aware of their motives. This is just a pretext for them to exert even more control and we know why, it’s because they want the influence we as a community have to must serve them. So here is what we do my fellow gamers-
“In light of recent events and years of mainstream stigma, we the members of the Global Gaming Community [GGC] must officially renounce ALL TIES to the corporate western video game market. We have been financially exploited through predatorial monetization schemes, pelted with numerous articles of disdain and intentional misrepresentation from game journalists, news outlets regarding us as dangerous individuals and, even subjected to inferior products not only riddled with bugs but also products meant to push political agendas. For the preservation of our community and its unique culture, apart from a few select game development studios we officially sever all connections to western owned video game companies & their mainstream affiliates. From this point onward, we will no longer support western corporate developers, journalists and publishers that do not coincide with the goals of our community.”
Naturally this is completely optional. If you are okay with the state of the gaming community as it is, feel free to ignore this. But if you wish for real change and a break away from oversaturated monetization in the games you play and the push for radical ideological reform, then you are in the right place. Lets sever these rotted miasmic ties once and for all so that our community can be preserved and made better for future gamers. The more gamers who get involved, the easier it will be for us to finally break free from mainstream game companies and their associates.

I contacted support that I wanted the money withdrawable, would cut any losses just to save any money I had left in the account. I persisted on asking but they kept sending me to different agents and regurgitating the same corporate messages. Then, they sent it to the higher ups and they were more cooperating and the outlook was looking good. They mentioned they were going to self-exclude my account for a few months, and not to worry about it too much.
2 weeks passed, The request was denied, and my account was self-excluded. I have emails and chat logs and everything. I was prepared that this was a shitty learning experience, and I guess I will have to play their slots to recuperate any money Today, it has been 6 months and I requested for my account access. First they could not even find my account. then after more attempts to contact support, I have now been told that my account is locked until 16/11/2123, and my account withdrawal balance is 0, and my bonus balance is 0. Their words on why I was 'self-excluded': "Due to wagering being attached to the cash funds and the fact gthat wagering has already started the bonus could not be removed at tht time." They wont reopen the account or refund any money. They even lied and claimed I used up all my cash balance playing games, which I know isnt true.
One last punch to the gut was their response: "I am sorry about this inconvenience and this was not our intention, We are not trying to take the money from you as there are currently no funds on your account. You have made concerning statements which led the responsible gaming team to add the self-exclusion to the account. This is done to protect our customers. I do however understand where you are coming from. However, we have to take the necessary precautions when dealing with our customers and we have their best interest in mind." Nice to know they have my best interest in mind here.

I just started getting "Hmm. We're having trouble finding that site." when visiting a variety of sites on a Windows 10 PC. It's happening in Firefox, but I tried to reach one of the sites in Chrome and Edge, and they got the same error.
I have another PC on the same WiFi network, which is having no problem connecting to all those sites. So it's something specific to that machine.
I found old posts about this problem in various subreddits, but they didn't seem applicable to my situation, in which only one PC on the network is affected.

Hey everyone, I’m making this post and comment below just as a factual recount of my journey selling my childhood collection over the past few months, in case it is helpful to anyone now or later. Sorry for the long post - I’m a numbers guy and this kind of stuff is very interesting to me, so I’m recounting it in detail.
My collection was mostly Base Set Pokemon, some shadowless, some random Topps, and a few cards from Expedition and the Neo collections (I stopped collecting roughly right when those cards released). I had a total of 374 cards. Almost all were LP - a few NM, a few MP. None were graded. I took good care of them and always had them in a binder. My “best” card was a damaged shadowless Charizard that a friend gave to me before he threw away his collection when we were, like, 10 years old (I estimated this card’s value at $325).
Thanks to this forum for guiding me to TCGplayer when I found my old stash and looked to sell it. I priced every single card, even the stupid Ratattas and Weedles, based on NM/LP/MP/damaged (because I am very type A/OCD!) using TCGplayer and came to a value of $1,614.63. I would argue there was roughly +/- $150 from that estimate based on condition.
I already have experience selling collectibles and had a good amount of feedback as an eBay seller from auctioning off other items, namely complete Lego sets and vintage Hot Wheels Redlines/Matchbox cars. I didn’t feel like making a new account on TCGplayer, Mercari, or any other retailing site because I am lazy. I didn’t cross-post anything or try FB marketplace. I strictly went with eBay to see what would happen. High value cards were listed individually. Bulk was separated by collection and listed in lots. I listed all cards at auction/OBO within a few dollars of what they were worth. My rule of thumb - 4 weeks of auctions at the price I want it to sell for; after 4 weeks, I cut the price by 25%; after 4 more weeks, I cut the price by another 25%; and after 4 more weeks, I list the item at $0.99+shipping and see what happens. Other people may have better methods or more patience, but I eventually get tired of selling things/seeing the clutter everywhere in the house and want it gone.
Out of 374 cards, I only sold TWO at a price over my initial expectations (thanks Gengar and Blastoise!). 37 sold at asking price. 335 sold below my expectations. I received hundreds of direct messages with radically lowball offers (I set my listings to automatically reject offers that don’t meet an 85% threshold, people still messaged me to ask when their offers were auto-rejected) - my favorite was someone asking if I would sell a shadowless Charizard for $50. I assume they were mostly kids/teenagers, but it was annoying AF. I’ve never experienced that with buyers of other collectibles - usually the price is what it is: set by the market +/- 10% based on the condition/interaction and that’s that. I eventually had to go back and modify all my listings to replace the OBO with Buy It Now to stop the madness. The Charizard sold for $315 plus shipping.
Anyway, total sale cost of everything (including shipping costs) was $1,017.32. The shipping costs/eBay fees accounted for 22.0% of total sale costs, leaving me with $793.42 (49.13% of the expected value) at the end of the day. Granted, I’ll never complain about an extra $793 that I didn’t have before, but a few things:

• I spent approximately 26.5 hours researching, pricing, snapping photos, listing, dealing with buyers, re-listing, modifying listings, and packaging these cards over the course of 16 weeks. This process took longer for me because I was unfamiliar with the market and had to do a lot of research and pricing. You all would probably fare better, but there is inherently a lot of time in managing listings.
• Assuming a price of $4/pack of 11 cards back in 1999, the collection cost me $136 in 1999 US dollars. Inflated to 2024, the cost of the collection is roughly $260, so a profit was made albeit not what was expected.
• Just for fun: $793 (sold price) minus $260 (cost price) = $533 divided by 26.5 hours of work = $20.11/hour. This is below my current working/salary rate.
• Annualized ROI of $136 in 1999 to $793 in 2024 gives a 7.29% annual rate of return. Not bad, but not phenomenal compared to other markets.
• Selling these was grueling. Hundreds of listings were active over several weeks. Collectibles are never “liquid assets” but these were the least liquid asset I’ve ever sold. Usually I do my research, set my prices, and my stuff sells within 2 weeks with haggling on maybe 10% of items. This took 2 months and things really only sold because I dropped them to $0.99 and walked away. I could see this taking years if you were holding out for a certain dollar amount on a particular card.

I have had two suspicious things happen to me in the last few days and I’m hoping to get some advice.
So two days ago I had a notification from my banking app that a £10 payment had been made to a betting site. Then there was another notification that £10 had been payed back into my account from the same betting site. I cancelled my card and ordered a new one. I couldn’t work out why this had happened and decided to just forget about it as my card was cancelled.
Then today about 45 minutes ago a man called me from a withheld number. He knew my name and said he was calling from my bank because there had been suspicious activity on my account and that several thousand pounds had been spent at a luxury fashion brand. I hung up straight away and checked my banking app and as suspected, there was no such transaction.
The reason I’m posting here is I’m a bit confused about a couple of things.
First of all, this man knew my name, my phone number and the bank I am with. I’m wondering how he has all that information about me? (also, he had an English accent, which is the first time I’ve ever had a scam call from someone in my own country)
Secondly, I’m also wondering if the person who tried to make a payment to the betting site is the same person who called today. Perhaps he realised I cancelled my card so he called me to try and scam me?
Lastly, I still have no idea how the first person managed to get my bank details or if I am still vulnerable? I have cancelled my card and I will obviously be suspicious of anyone who contacts me going forward but is there something else I should be doing? I called my bank to inform them and to double check that everything looked ok.
I’m worried it will happen again or that I am unknowingly doing something to be targeted.

We've had a hell of a time getting the TrustedSites settings working but I've finally got a working json that does what I want, but the only way it seems to take effect is if the end user manually opens uBlock settings and chooses to reset to defaults. If the user doesn't do it, we can see the correct settings deployed in chrome://policy, but not in the TrustedSites settings of the uBlock Origin extension, even after more than 12hrs, closing and relaunching chrome, and rebooting machines.
But as soon as the user clicks that "reset to default settings" button, the TrustedSites load and we're good to go.
Does anyone know if there's a way to force a reset of all users' extension organization-wide that doesn't involve just totally removing the extension and reinstalling it?

I am writing a lot, for years. I have around 20 or more finished stories in many topics, thriller, horror, post apocalyptic, political, fantasy and so on and so on. I used to publish in local site, but since it was renewed most of the members left, leaving only forum trolls that spoil the idea and make the site their own property, posting literally bullshit, one after another.
Problem is there are a few local sites and they are all flooded by the same people. And if not, the manner here is very home-bred and publishing in such sites is a waste of time. People are simple, mind limited, have no respect for others and are getting the level so low that it's disgusting to read.
Lately I came with idea for a new story and I just need to share it somewhere, still working on it but what's the point, if it's only at my computer and nobody ever see it? I need a place to publish it, mostly I find fanfiction sites which are not my thing. Any suggestions?
